De laatste beslissing van Trump t.a.v. Jemen gaat wat betreft schunnig handelen mijlen verder dan de Capitol Hill rel en zal niet worden teruggedraaid door Biden

De
vergelijkingen die worden gemaakt t.a.v. de rel op Capitol Hill en in
het Capitol zijn volkomen belachelijk, zo wordt e.e.a vergeleken met
de Kristallnacht en Pearl Harbour, totaal belachelijk zoals
je ongetwijfeld begrijpt…. In Nederland spreken de media en politiek het over een aanval op de
heilige gronden van de democratie, alsof er sprake is van een
echte democratie in de VS en alsof de VS democratieën elders beschermt,
waar de werkelijkheid laat zien dat de VS daar lak aan heeft, als men
zich maar schikt naar de wensen en belangen van de VS mag je mensen
vermoorden, verkrachten en martelen, zonder één letter aan kritiek
te krijgen van de zittende administratie in de VS…. (en dat zal onder Biden niet veranderen, dat heeft hij als vicepresident onder Obama al ‘grondig’ bewezen….) Sterker nog: de
VS is regelmatig de grote manipulator die zorgt voor staatsgrepen
tegen democratisch gekozen regeringen, om daar als het een beetje wil
lukken zelfs een fascistische junta te installeren…… Als het manipuleren met sancties enz. niet lukt, valt de VS zo’n land zelfs binnen dan wel zorgt dat het leger van zo’n land de macht grijpt, waarbij de VS naast financiële hulp ook de organisatie en regie voor haar rekening neemt, een rol die de CIA al heel vaak op zich heeft genomen, voorbeelden te over……..

Volkomen
terecht merkt Caitlin Johnstone op dat tijdens de hysterie over de
rel op Capitol Hill, Trump de Houthi rebellen op de terreurlijst heeft
gezet, terwijl deze zich juist inzetten tegen de genocide die
de Saoedische terreurcoalitie nu al jarenlang uitvoert in Jemen…….. Een genocide gesteund door de VS, Groot-Brittannië en Frankrijk, waar de
eerste 2 zelfs militaire steun verlenen aan Saoedi-Arabië en
de VS af en aan opereert op het Jemenitische grondgebied in acties tegen de Houthi’s en
daarnaast S-A helpt met een zeeblokkade voor havens die in handen zijn van
de Houthi rebellen, waarmee het tekort aan voedsel, water,
medicijnen en brandstof (voor ziekenhuis generatoren) onder de
sjiitische bevolking in Jemen alleen maar wordt vergroot……

Met het op de terreurlijst zetten van de Houthi rebellen door de VS wordt elke hulp aan de Houthi’s als misdaad neergezet, Houthi’s die niet alleen strijden voor het Jemenitische volk, maar ook andere taken uitvoeren die belangrijk zijn voor een land en in het bijzonder voor een land als Jemen waar honger heerst, zoals het uitdelen van de schaarse voedselhulp die het land binnenkomt….. Vergeet niet dat in Jemen niet alleen honger een groot aantal slachtoffers eist, maar ook ziekten als cholera en difterie, dit gecombineerd met het Coronavirus geeft daar nog eens extra slachtoffers (immers een heel groot deel van de burgers heeft door de voornoemde honger en ziekten een zwakke gezondheid…..) Hulporganisatie Yemen Solidarity Council (YSC) in de VS heeft al haar hulpverlening aan het vedrukte Jemenitische volk gestaakt na deze meer dan schunnige beslissing van Trump…… (zie het artikel van Caitlin)

Het is een gotspe dat niet de Saoedische terreurcoalitie op de terreurlijst van de VS is gezet, maar juist de Houthi rebellen, mensen die zich met hand en tand verzetten tegen de smerige genocide die in Jemen wordt uitgevoerd……

Het is
zonder meer een schande dat bijvoorbeeld de EU niet onmiddellijk aan
de VS bel heeft getrokken en protest heeft aangetekend tegen de
beslissing van Trump en zijn bende (oorlogs-) misdadigers om de Houthi rebellen op de terreurlijst te zetten…… Biden zal deze beslissing niet terugdraaien, vergeet niet dat de VS onder zijn vicepresidentschap al volop bezig was met politieke en militaire steun voor de genocide in Jemen waarmee de reli-fascistische terreurstaat Saoedi-Arabië destijds al bezig was……* (S-A is een soennitische staat en oefent ook nog eens grote terreur uit op de sjiieten binnen haar eigen grenzen, iets waar het westen al helemaal blind voor is, er is dan ook veel geld te verdienen aan S-A, zo zijn een aantal Nederlandse bedrijven werkzaam in deze terreurstaat en onderhoudt ‘ons’ koningshuis innige banden met het dictatoriaal bloedige Saoedische koningshuis……..)

Caitlin
spreekt over 233.000 doden die de smerige oorlog van S-A tegen het
sjiitische volk van Jemen zou hebben gekost, echter dat moeten er
minstens 500.000 zijn, zeker als je nagaat dat alleen al meer dan
100.000 kinderen het slachtoffer zijn geworden van deze grootschalige
terreur……. Het is dan ook uitermate moeilijk om het werkelijke
aantal slachtoffers te onderzoeken, daar de VS en S-A elke journalist
probeert tegenhouden die naar Jemen wil
reizen….. Ook moeten doden als in alle moslimlanden binnen 24 uur
begraven worden.

Trump’s Latest Yemen Move Is Far Worse Than The Capitol Riot

While
the Capitol riot is being hysterically compared to Pearl
Harbor
and Kristallnacht
by the political/media class, the Trump administration has done
something far, far worse that is receiving far, far less attention.

The
US State Department has officially
announced
its intention to designate Yemen’s Houthis as a terrorist group, as
many had
previously warned.
Humanitarian organizations have
been condemning
the move as it will make it more difficult to provide aid to a
population that is already being brutalized by the worst mass
atrocity in the entire world, a Saudi-led atrocity which could
not occur
without the help of the western power alliance.

We
are already
seeing some effects
of this designation.

The
terror designation will hamper the efforts of international charities
that deliver food to Houthi-controlled areas, where 70 percent of
Yemen’s population lives and
malnutrition is the most widespread.

Aid
agencies fear their work in north Yemen will
now be criminalized since
the Houthis are the authority they have to deal with and make
transactions with. US terror designations open up sanctions on any
individuals or entities that do business with those Washington brands
as terrorists.

Pompeo
said exemptions would be made for humanitarian goods. But any
additional roadblocks for aid agencies will cause more suffering in
Yemen since the situation is so dire. “Even with exemptions, the
operation will be compromised,” said Janti Soeripto, the president
of Save the Children, according to AP
News.

The
United Nations conservatively
estimates that
some 233,000 Yemenis have been killed in the war between the Houthis
and the US-backed Saudi-led coalition, mostly from what it calls
“indirect causes”. Those indirect causes would be disease
and starvation resulting from what UN Secretary-General Antonio
Guterres calls “the worst famine the world has seen for
decades”.

When
people hear the word “famine” they usually think of mass
hunger caused by droughts or other naturally occurring phenomena, but
in reality the starvation deaths we are seeing in Yemen (a huge
percentage of which are children
under the age of five)
are caused by something that is no more natural than the starvation
deaths you’d see in a medieval siege. They are the result of the
Saudi coalition’s use of blockades and its deliberate
targeting of
farms, fishing boats, marketplaces, food storage sites, and cholera
treatment centers with
airstrikes aimed at making the Houthi-controlled parts of Yemen so
weak and miserable that they break.

In
other words, the US and its allies have been helping Saudi Arabia
deliberately kill children and other civilians on mass scale in order
to achieve a political goal. Which would of course be a perfect
example of any standard definition of terrorism. The
unfathomably savage and bloodthirsty US empire designating the
Houthis as a terrorist organization is the least funny joke that has
ever been told.

This
move is quantifiably far, far worse than anything Trump could
possibly have done to incite the Capitol riot, as it will kill far,
far more people, yet the mass media fixate on one news story while
virtually ignoring the other. This is because the Capitol riot story
feeds into partisan narratives and manufactures consent for
authoritarian
domestic terrorism laws,
while the Yemen story highlights the depravity of US imperialism. The
plutocrat-owned media does not exist to give you a truthful
representation of the world, it exists to keep the wheels of the
empire rolling along.

There’s
a weird taboo against saying some things are worse than other things,
especially when it involves things the mass media tell us are of
cataclysmic significance. People shriek “Why are you minimizing
the Capitol raid??” and “Why are you comparing them! It’s
not a pissing contest!” This is stupid. All things are not equal
to other things, and figuring out the ways in which news coverage is
disproportionate and not reflective of reality is a very important
part
of making sense of the world.

So
now Americans are being fed a steady diet of narratives about the
threat Trump’s radicalized base poses to people of color, while
ignoring the fact that Trump is currently implementing policies which
facilitate the butchery of people of color. Only difference is the
latter is hidden behind geographical remoteness, and is far more
egregious.

It
matters that the mass media do not cover news stories with an
accurate degree of proportion. It matters that they keep the public’s
gaze diverted
from the horrors of empire
while radically distorting their sense of reality. This isn’t some
idle “contrarian take”. This matters.

In
the last couple of centuries we’ve progressed all the way from
expecting our leaders to murder brown-skinned people while saying
racist things to expecting our leaders to murder brown-skinned people
while condemning racism. The murder hasn’t changed, and the racism
hasn’t really changed either. All that’s changed is the norms of how
it is put into practice.

This
matters.
