Israel takes revenge on Palestinian corpses – along with their families.. Cemetery of Numbers One Palestinian family finally managed to get their case heard by the Israeli Supreme Court and were able to have the body of their loved one returned for proper burial – 34 years later.
It was in the 1960s that Israel had a policy of withholding Palestinian corpses in secret cemeteries whereby the headstones were mere numbers.
During the last Palestinian ‘Al Quds (Jerusalem) uprising in 2015, Israel again began withholding slain Palestinians only this time storing them in refrigerators and morgues.
The name for this practice is called Necropolitics.
Israel has turned the dead bodies of Palestinians into a political weapon whereby they manage the Palestinians even in death, they use their bodies as a collective colonialization bargaining tool.
Necropolitics includes the colonizer’s management of the colonized in their grief and bereavement states up to and including the point at which the colonizer knows when, where, how and with whom the colonized will die.
Its the ultimate power play: to be dead or not to be dead in Palestine.
