De VS heeft een bom van meer dan 18.000 kilo in zee tot ontploffing gebracht en daarmee een enorm aantal zeedieren vermoord

Om te testen of een vliegdekschip klaar is om oorlog te voeren heeft de VS marine een bom van 18.000 kilo in een zeegebied voor de kust van Florida tot ontploffing gebracht, een gebied vol met zeeleven en daarmee deze dieren letterlijk in stukken gereten…..* Onder de vermoorde dieren dolfijnen en walvissen…..

Erger nog: jaarlijks doet de VS marine duizenden van deze explosieve en vernietigende proeven…..

Het Care2 team is een petitie gestart tegen deze schandelijk gang van zaken, e.e.a om de marine te bewegen biologen in dienst te nemen, die ten minste kunnen proberen om zoveel mogelijk dieren uit zo’n testgebied te verjagen en als dat niet kan de test ergens anders te doen……. Lijkt me zelfs nog te veel, immers er zijn al zoveel proeven gedaan dat men makkelijk computerprogramma’s kan samenstellen waarmee men kan uitrekenen welke krachten een nieuw marineschip kan verdragen gezien de bouw, kwaliteit van gebruikt staal en de bepantsering in haar geheel….. Gelukkig vraagt het Care2 team de VS marine wel om te zoeken naar andere manieren om deze testen te doen….

‘Maar goed’, een poging om de VS marine te bewegen ten minste de dieren te verjagen of te zoeken naar een andere plek, voordat men weer een dergelijke proef doet is beter dan niets, dus lees en teken de petitie ajb en geeft het door, deze waanzin moet afgelopen zijn!!

Tot slot nog het volgende: naast de marine van de VS, mogen de wereldvernietigende oliemaatschappijen onder water jaarlijks ook nog eens een groot aantal seismische explosies doen, waarbij uiteraard het zeeleven in de buurt van die explosies in stukken wordt geblazen, ofwel wordt vermoord…….. Dit alles terwijl de zeeën worden leeggevist en worden vergiftigd met o.a olievervuiling, nucleaire vervuiling, plastic en andere chemische troep……..

In a perfect example of U.S. priorities, the Navy detonated a 40,000 pound bomb off the coast of Florida in precious wildlife habitat, blasting it and the animals there to pieces in order to test to see if “its newest aircraft carrier…is ready for war.” And this isn’t even the last of what the Navy has planned. Every year they do thousands of these explosive, destructive tests, all to the detriment of our marine friends.

Sign the petition and demand that the Navy find another way to test their ships that doesn’t kill incalculable amounts of wildlife like dolphins and whales!

The grim number of fatalities and the extent of the environmental destruction is hard to determine not just because this blast’s size was particularly outrageous. It’s also because the Navy literally doesn’t employ trained biologists to monitor marine mammals that could be affected by their test bombs. Sign the petition and demand that the United States Navy stop needlessly killing marine animals — they must come up with new ways to test their ships!

Terwijl het walvisjacht seizoen van 2021 met rasse schreden nadert, heeft de inhumane rechtse Noorse regering toestemming gegeven om 1.278 dwergvinvissen te vermoorden, dit is een hoeveelheid die 2 keer zo hoog is dan in 2020……

Terwijl gelukkig ook in Noorwegen de weerzin tegen deze barbaars bloedige moordpartijen toeneemt en de vraag naar walvisvlees en andere producten van deze walvissen afneemt, besloot de Noorse regering alsnog deze massamoord meer dan te verdubbelen….. Vergeet daarbij niet dat 70% van de vermoorde dieren zwanger kan zijn……

Noorwegen is 1 van de 3 landen die nog steeds op walvisjacht gaan……. Men noemt dit ‘commerciële walvisjacht’, echter de zogenaamd wetenschappelijke walvisjacht zoals Japan dat noemt, is niets anders dan een commerciële walvisjacht, terwijl bij dat commercieel steeds grotere vraagtekens moeten worden gezet, immers door afnemende vraag is de Japanse regering genoodzaakt om die jacht te subsidiëren en ik neem aan dat dit in Noorwegen niet anders is……

Tijd dat de wereld Noorwegen gaat boycotten voor deze schandelijke en barbaarse jacht!!

Last year, less than half of that amount of whales were killed, which is in line with the downward trend in whale product demand in Norway, the increasing public distaste for the cruel practice of whaling, and decreased participation from fisheries. The Norwegian government should be embracing this trend; instead, they are trying to reverse it by keeping killing quotas high and loosening regulations that are meant to protect the welfare of these poor whales!

The slaughter of a wild minke whale is a terrible thing to behold. Whalers onboard their vessels aim a harpoon at a moving, fleeing, terrified whale, which is meant to kill the animal on the spot. But more often than not, it takes a long time for these whales to die. The huge mammals are incapacitated, left to slowly die in immense pain either from bleeding out or not being able to rise to the surface for the life-giving air they need.

Norway is one of only three countries that still allow the brutality of commercial whaling. It’s time to catch up to the rest of the world and put an end to it! Sign the petition and demand that Norway drastically lower its minke whale murder quota for 2021, and use this as the first step to phasing out whaling entirely!

That quota is well over DOUBLE the number of minke whales slaughtered during last year’s season! But Norway’s whaling industry is dead set on making the cruel capture and slaughter of these iconic beings “more attractive” so they can turn a pretty profit without being viewed in a negative light.

Well they aren’t going to get off that easy. Sign the petition and demand Odd Emil Ingebrigtsen, Norway’s Minister of Fisheries, dramatically lower this quota! It must reflect the extremely low demand for whale products and the general public’s overwhelmingly negative view of cruel whaling!

Whales dying slowly and painfully is a rule in the whaling industry, not an exception — which made it all the more horrifying when Norway relaxed regulations in 2020. Their new rules even stated that only one person on an entire whaling vessel needs to have previous whaling experience. One person for an entire crew. And even then, they only need to have experience in the past six years. In an effort to stoke the dying fire of the whaling industry, the government of Norway is completely abandoning animal welfare.

And there is exhaustive proof that the whaling industry is, in fact, dying. Ingebrigtsen, when announcing this horrifically high quota, implied that demand for whale meat is rising. But a study from the Animal Welfare Institute (AWI) polled Norwegians and found that under 5% say they eat whale meat regularly! So who is all this murder for? Actually, most of the poor whales caught during the whaling season are sent elsewhere for consumption. This industry simply no longer represents the feelings or desires of Norwegian people, nor of its laborers. The number of vessels registered for whale hunting has been falling for over a decade, down to 12 in 2020 from 34 in 2004 — and the Norwegian government should be embracing this trend, rather than trying to reverse it.

It is appalling that the government of Norway would ignore the feelings of its people and the welfare of whales just to try and save an antiquated, cruel industry that has negligible economic benefits and could decimate conservation efforts for whales worldwide — 70% of the whales targeted are females that could be pregnant!


Norway is only one of three countries that still allows commercial whaling. It’s time to catch up to the rest of the world and put an end to it! Vice World News heeft een nieuwe film gemaakt over de dolfijnhandel van Japan en de daaraan gekoppelde gruwelijke slachting van dolfijnen……..

Elk jaar jagen Japanse vissers en dolfijntrainers op dolfijnen die tot een gruwelijk hoogtepunt komt bij de Japanse kuststad Taiji….. Daar zoeken vissers en trainers dolfijnen uit die zullen worden verkocht aan dolfinaria over de wereld en ieder dier dat niet wordt geselecteerd zal op een gruwelijke manier worden vermoord, zo slaat men met bijlen in op de arme dieren die geen kant op kunnen, het maakt niet uit of ze oud zijn dan wel een kalf, de gruwelijke dood is op dat moment voor ieder weerloos dier onvermijdbaar……

Ik heb al vaker bericht over deze slachting, die overigens ook plaatsvindt aan de andere kant van de wereld op de Faeröer Eilanden, echter ik heb steeds meer weerzin om hierover te berichten, daar de gruwelijke foto’s me bijblijven. Echter het kan niet anders, er moet veel meer bericht worden over deze gruwelijke jacht, het is dan ook een grof schandaal dat de reguliere media hier amper of niet over berichten, immers met een grote wereldwijde verontwaardiging is het mogelijk om bijvoorbeeld een boycot te organiseren van Japanse producten of die van de Faeröer Eilanden en van Denemarken dat deze jaarlijkse massamoord op die eilanden toestaat…….

Eén groot geluk is het feit dat steeds meer Japanners een grote weerzin aan de dag leggen voor deze barbaarse en zeer gewelddadige jacht.

Lees het artikel, zie de film en geeft het door, men moet totaal stoppen met het bezoeken van dolfinaria. Als je dolfinaria bezoekt ben je in feite medeplichtig aan enorme misstanden en barbaarse massamoord!!! Bovendien zijn die dolfinaria een hel op aarde voor deze dieren, die niet als ze niet in gevangenschap worden gehouden, enorme afstanden kunnen afleggen en uiteraard niet in de veel te kleine bassins thuishoren…..

Dierenactivisten als Ric O’Barry, de grondlegger en directeur van Dolphin Project stelt dat wanneer de vraag naar dolfijnen stopt het ook snel zal zijn afgelopen met de moorddadige psychopathische aanvallen op weerloze dieren….. De vraag naar dolfijnvlees valt steeds verder terug en de barbaren die dit wel eten, lopen grote kans uiteindelijk ernstig ziek te worden daar het is vergeven van het uiterst gevaarlijke kwik en andere lichaamsvijandige stoffen….. (wat mij betreft mogen die lui net als de vissers en trainers sterven en ook dat graag op een afschuwelijke manier >> dat hebben ze dubbel en dwars verdiend!)

During the 2020/21 dolphin hunting season, VICE World News traveled to the infamous Cove in Taiji, Japan. Their intent was to investigate Taiji’s global dolphin trade, from a well-balanced perspective of both the fishermen and the activists. What resulted is one of the most important films to highlight the Taiji dolphin hunts since the 2009 Academy award-winning documentary “The Cove”.

The team spoke with Ren Yabuki, director of Life Investigation Agency (LIA), whom Dolphin Project collaborated with during the entire six-month long dolphin hunting season, which spans from September 1 to March 1 of each year. Here, dolphins are hunted and driven into the Cove, where they are selected for the global captivity industry, or slaughtered for consumption (a dangerous practice as their meat is heavily contaminated with mercury and other toxins). Trainers and fishermen work alongside one another, deciding who will make the cut for the captivity industry, and who will be killed. Various countries across the world purchase dolphins from Taiji, filling aquariums and marine parks with captive dolphin entertainment.

Ren shared the horrors of what he witnessed, namely: the routine harassment, suffering and abuse of several species of dolphins, including the very young and the very old, the slaughter of dolphin calves and their separation from their mothers, the violent captive selection process, and the decimation of entire pods of dolphins.

This season, there were a total of 46 red coves (where dolphins were either slaughtered or taken captive) and 135 blue coves (where no dolphins were slaughtered or taken captive) involving six species of dolphins. We estimate 547 dolphins were slaughtered, while 140 were taken captive. Many more may have died as a result of the drives themselves, their numbers never recorded. As the demand for dolphin meat has dropped, the lucrative captivity industry is what’s fueling the slaughters. If the captivity industry were to collapse, so likely would the dolphin meat trade.

In het Japanse Taiji is het halfjaarlijkse ‘jachtseizoen’ gesloten, een seizoen waarin zoals gewoonlijk dolfijnen naar de baai bij Taiji worden gedreven om, daar op een afschuwelijke manier te worden vermoord met bijlen enz…..

Al jaren ook is er verzet tegen deze vreselijke gang van zaken en de organisatie ‘Dolphin Project’ heeft een aantal vrijwilligers naar Taiji gestuurd, zij houden de gang van zaken nauwlettend in het oog en rapporteren over het aantal afgeslachte dolfijnen (al zullen deze cijfers waarschijnlijk veel hoger liggen dan men aangeeft, alleen al vanwege het feit dat bij de drijfjachten ook dolfijnen omkomen….)…. Wel kunnen zij precies aangeven welke dolfijnen worden vermoord en uiteraard hoe walgelijk e.e.a. gebeurt.
Afgelopen seizoen zijn er 130 keer dolfijnen naar de baai van Taiji gedreven en in totaal werden er 8 soorten dolfijnen vermoord en zelfs kleine dolfijnen zijn niet veilig zodat hele sociale groepen van dolfijnen (inclusief moeders met kinderen) op een vreselijke manier worden uitgemoord……..
Als je nog tot de mensen behoort die dolfinaria bezoeken: dolfijnen trainers staan zij aan zij met de moordenaars en kiezen dan de dieren uit die naar dolfinaria moeten…… Stop ajb je bezoek aan deze hel voor walvisachtigen, die het best te vergelijken is met een gevangenis en zegt het voort! Deze dolfinaria verschuilen zich achter wetenschappelijk onderzoek, conservatie en educatie, met deze belachelijke dooddoeners denkt men zich te kunnen vrijwaren van kritiek, precies als de Japanners die nog steeds op walvisachtigen jagen, niet zo vreemd als je ziet dat trainers van deze dolfinaria aanwezig zijn bij dit soort slachtingen…….. Vergeet verder niet dat het sterftecijfer van walvisachtigen als orka’s hoog is in deze dolfinaria, sterfte die optreedt ver voor het eind van de verwachte levensduur van deze slimme dieren…… (zie de links aan het eind van dit bericht)

Het zou mooi zijn als men naast het stoppen van bezoeken aan dolfinaria, Japan niet langer ziet als vakantieland en alle artikelen boycot die dat land exporteert, deze barbaarse slachtingen moeten eindelijk afgelopen zijn!!

Dolphin Project can confirm that on March 1, Taiji’s drive hunts ended for the 2019/20 season. During the entire six-month long hunting season, our dedicated team of Cove Monitors stood on the ground, documenting each and every drive, where dolphins were routinely subjected to harassment, suffering and abuse. Along with you, we witnessed dolphins chased, injured, manhandled, run-over by skiffs, dragged, drowned, taken captive and slaughtered. Entire pods of dolphins were decimated, from the very young to the very old.

This season, a total of 130 drives took place involving eight species of dolphins. We estimate 560 dolphins were slaughtered, while 180 were taken captive. Many more may have died as a result of the drives themselves, their numbers never recorded.

As evidenced in previous years, dolphin trainers worked closely alongside dolphin hunters, choosing which mammals would be appropriate for “life” in captivity, and which would be slaughtered. Marine parks and aquariums often use the terms “conservation” and “education” when describing their captive dolphin displays. The reality however, lies in the bloody waters of this tiny Japanese town: demand for captive entertainment is what fuels Taiji’s drive hunts. Captive dolphin displays, including swim-with-dolphins programs aren’t educational, nor are they entertainment. They are exploitative, and often responsible for the destruction of entire dolphin pods.

Compared to last year, 61 fewer dolphins were taken captive, thus, it’s imperative that we continue to keep the pressure on by educating the world why we need to say NO to the dolphin show.

While the tarps that dolphins are dragged under to be slaughtered or taken captive are in the process of being taken down, and the banger poles used to drive dolphins into the Cove are in the process of being removed, Dolphin Project will continue to educate on the cruelties of dolphin captivity. No matter the sophistication of a captive dolphin environment, the natural world of which dolphins are uniquely adapted for simply cannot be replicated.

Dolphin Project extends a huge “THANK YOU” to those who watched our live streams, shared our social media and blogs and took the pledge to NOT buy a ticket to a dolphin show. We are grateful to each of you who lent your voices in support. As we have always said, as long as Taiji exploits dolphins, Dolphin Project will be in Taiji to document this exploitation. Australië staat olieboringen toe in de Grote Australische Bocht, inclusief seismische ontploffingen

Terwijl het land zucht onder record temperaturen en Sydney bijna geheel is omsloten door bosbranden, die het leven in deze stad deels tot stilstand hebben gebracht, heeft de neoliberale regering van Australië olieboringen goedgekeurd in het belangrijke natuurgebied de Grote Australische Bocht….. Olieboringen die gepaard gaan met seismische ontploffingen die het uiterst belangrijke dierenleven in de kuststrook op grote schaal zal verstoren……
Onder andere walvissen zijn te vinden in dit natuurgebied, waar de kalveren van deze dieren door de enorme seismische knallen (alsof er een bom afgaat in je huis en dat om de 10 seconden) niet langer in staat zullen zijn te communiceren met hun moeder die zich in de buurt ophoudt….. Uiteraard zal dit het hele onderwaterleven in de Bocht verstoren en deels vernietigen, zo is bekend dat plankton op grote schaal sterft door deze ontploffingen…… Onderwaterleven dat zo belangrijk is ook voor de prooidieren die hier op af komen, zoals zeehonden…..

Hoe is het mogelijk dat een regering zo blind is dat het dit soort zaken toestaat, in 2016 maakte de Australische regering bekend dat het Grote Barrièrerif een extra beschermde status wil geven, echter nadat diezelfde regering toestemming gaf om de grootste kolenhaven ter wereld te bouwen, pal voor dat rif, waarvoor een kanaal t.b.v. zeeschepen dwars door het rif wordt aangelegd….. Steenkool dat door Australië en de VS massaal tegen dumpprijzen op de wereldmarkt wordt verkocht…. Niet voor niets ook dat in Nederland al jaren alle gascentrales zijn uitgeschakeld en de kolencentrales op volle toeren draaien……. Nogmaals: en dat in en door Australië dat ongemeen hard wordt getroffen door de klimaatverandering….

Onbegrijpelijk dat het Australische volk deze totaal onverantwoorde regering blijft steunen…….

For whales and other marine mammals, life is a symphony of sound. They use sound to find food, mates, evade predators and generally navigate the vast ocean.

The relationship a whale calf has with its mother is particularly special. Just like any other species the young rely on their mother’s protection and direction to navigate the wild.
What’s unique about whales is how they achieve this in such dark oceans with no sight. In a recent study from Aarhus University, Denmark (conducted in the Great Australian Bight) found that whale calves will “whisper” to their Mother. This helps them stay close, stay safe as they can’t be overheard by any predators.

“We discovered that the calves don’t make a lot of noise—they use very short and weak sounds. We think that it’s because they only intend for their mother to hear them,”
-Simone Videsen, research assistant at Aarhus University.
So what would happen if a mother could not hear her young? When a family of whales rely on noise to eat, speak, protect each other.

The noise of seismic blasting has been compared to a bomb repeatedly going off in their home every 10 seconds—a home they can’t flee. It’s not just whales that are affected; for fish, seismic blasting can be deadly, resulting in deafness. Even shellfish, like lobsters and scallops have their immune systems suppressed as a result of this. These blasts have been shown to cause massive mortality in plankton, the tiny organisms that form the base of all marine food chains.

Seismic blasting happens before oil drilling even commences. It happens at the research stage. With equinor’s drilling approved, we are only weeks away from this being a reality. That’s why we need your help today!

Drone footage of Bunda Cliffs in the Great Australian Bight. It is a globally significant whale nursery, home to one of only two southern right whale calving grounds in the world, and a feeding area for blue whales, humpback whales, orcas and sea lions.

It breaks my heart to think oil drilling could take place in one of the largest whale sanctuaries in the world. Oil drilling must be stopped in the Bight, in Australia.

It’s amazing to think that it very easily can get worse. But all it takes is a spill. A spill means utter devastation. 9 years on from Deepwater Horizon, the world’s most infamous oil spill, has anything regenerated?

As one scientist recorded: “what we observed was a homogenous wasteland, in great contrast to the rich heterogeneity of life seen in a healthy deep sea. Crabs showed clearly visible physical abnormalities … Once these crustaceans reach the site, they may become too unhealthy to leave.”

And for what? Fossil fuels, a depleting resource that damages the planet and provokes extreme weather events.

I don’t want to believe this is happening in Australia. It is deplorable to me that while our country is being ravaged by bushfires that the RFS and Bureau of Meteorology have linked to man made climate change. Our government has approved oil drilling for more fossil fuel. We must act now.

As one of our supporters, you are likely aware that Greenpeace has a history of protecting oceans and saving whales. It’s what we do. You may not be aware that Greenpeace began in 1971 when a group of 8 protesters sailed into the Aleutian Islands of Alaska to force the US army to call off nuclear weapons testing in that area.

You might be asking yourself, ‘this is awful, but can Equinor really be stopped?’ In the past Greenpeace has infiltrated nuclear test sites, shielded whales from harpoons, protected fur seals from clubs and blocked ocean-going barges from dumping radioactive waste. We have also kicked 2 oil companies out of the Bight already and look forward to having your support to kick out another one.

De mens vist de oceanen meer en meer leeg en verziekt het leefklimaat voor de dieren daarin, niet alleen middels de door de mens veroorzaakte klimaatverandering, of de enorme plastic vervuiling, dumpen van chemisch afval (zoals zwaar vervuild water van fracken in de VS), maar ook middels vervuiling door olieboringen, het vergaan van schepen, de vervuiling door clandestien geloosde olie, gif en vuilnis dat van schepen in zee wordt gedonderd…… (en er zijn nog meer voorbeelden te noemen, zoals lozingen van riolen…)

Alsof dit alles niet genoeg is om schijtziek van te worden, hebben een aantal schoften bedacht om krill te verwerken in voedingsolie voor de mens, terwijl walvissen en pinguïns afhankelijk zijn van deze minuscuul kleine zeedieren…… Niet dat de mens deze nodig heeft, er zijn meer dan voldoende alternatieven te vinden voor omega 3, waarvan ‘de gezonde werking’ trouwens zwaar ter discussie staat…….

Het Britse levensmiddelenketen Holland & Barrett heeft de varianten voor de olie van krill NB naast de alternatieven staan, alternatieven die niet ten koste gaan van andere levensvormen op onze kleine aarde………
Het spul vindt gretig aftrek, dus reken maar dat binnenkort ook de Nederlandse kruideniersketens deze olie gaat verkopen (wellicht staan deze daar al, geen idee)…… In de Noordelijke Atlantische oceaan is de krill al op haar retour, dit door menselijk handelen (o.a. de opwarming van de aarde)…..
Nogmaals: de mens is ziek, doodziek en sleept alles en ieder dier mee de afgrond in…….

 Stop het gebruik van visolie of krillolie, of andere producten met omega 3, er zijn alternatieven te over!

In the Antarctic, all life, from the giant blue whale to a newborn penguin, depend on one tiny creature: krill. These quirky, shrimp-like crustaceans are one of the Antarctic’s most important species. Without krill, most life forms in the Antarctic would vanish.

Holland & Barrett has the power to influence the krill industry to stop fishing in areas that need to be protected. But they’ll only do it if they have thousands of people call on them to stand up and defend the Antarctic.


Email Holland & Barrett’s CEO and tell him to make sure the products on their shelves aren’t putting sensitive Antarctic waters at risk.
Holland & Barrett cares deeply about their public image. They’ve spent a lot of time and money promoting themselves as a healthy and planet-loving company. But by selling krill products sourced from delicate parts of the Antarctic, Holland & Barrett are undermining their reputation as an environmentally friendly brand.


Our recent report reveals that the krill industry is already fishing right next to penguin colonies and whale feeding grounds – the same areas scientists and governments say we need to protect [1]. Animals in the Antarctic are already facing pressures from a changing climate. The last thing they need is additional strains on their food supply.


Holland & Barrett can influence their suppliers to stop fishing in areas that need to be protected. With their help, the krill industry will hear loud and clear that the Antarctic waters are ours to protect – not theirs to exploit.

Thousands of people like you took action against the biggest canned tuna company in the world, and together we pushed them to end their destructive fishing practices. Ontving gisteren een petitie van ForceChange tegen de zogenaamde wetenschappelijke vangst van walvissen door de barbaarse Japanse walvisvloot……..

Dit jaar heeft Sea Shepherd geen walvis van de dood kunnen redden, de Japanse psychopaten konden ongestoord martelen en moorden……. De Japanse schepen hebben militaire apparatuur aan boord, zodat ze de schepen van Sea Shepherd ten allen tijde kunnen volgen…… Bovendien heeft de Japanse walvisvloot er geen probleem mee, de schepen van Sea Shepherd te rammen………

 Vreemd dat dit laatste, het rammen van Sea Shepherd schepen en de militarisering van de Japanse walvisvloot, niet onmiddellijk heeft geleid tot internationale politieke protesten….. Immers met die militarisering toont Japan geheel ten overvloede aan, dat de vangst van walvissen niets, maar dan ook helemaal niets met wetenschap te maken heeft……. Japan had al 10 keer internationaal aan de paal genageld moeten worden!!

 Japan heeft dit jaar 200 walvissen vermoord, waar 134 van deze walvissen behoren tot de bedreigde Noordse vinvis………

 Bij het lezen van de brief bij de petitie viel mij de naam Joji Morishita op, de voorzitter van de ‘International Whaling Commission’ (IWC). Ter verduidelijking: de IWC staat voor de bescherming van alle walvisachtigen. Dacht nog bij mezelf; ‘t zal toch niet een Japanner zijn, maar dat is hij wel en sterker nog, deze ploert staat achter de leugen van Japan, dat het walvissen jaagt voor wetenschappelijke doeleinden……. Deze dooddoener is volledig achterhaald, Morishita liet al eens weten dat er door Japan 666 (het getal van het beest, ofwel ‘de duivel’*) wetenschappelijke gecontroleerde documenten zijn gepubliceerd n.a.v. de massamoorden op walvissen en dat die het wetenschappelijk verhaal van het jaarlijkse barbaarse bloedbad ondersteunen….. Van die claim hebben wetenschappers gehakt gemaakt en een internationaal gerechtshof erkende uiteindelijk 2 van die documenten, die bovendien uiterst dubieus bleken te zijn….**

Lees de petitie en teken ajb, Japan zal en moet gestopt worden in haar uiterst wrede en barbaarse jacht op dieren, die qua intelligentie ook nog eens de mens benaderen…….. Geeft het door mensen!

Stop Japan From Slaughtering Whales for ‘Research’

Japanese vessels have returned from their annual whale hunt, having killed nearly 200 whales as part of their stipulated ‘quota.’ Despite the fact that whaling is banned under the International Whaling Commission (IWC), Japan has violated this ruling for years by making use of a legal loophole, claiming that the hunts are done in the name of scientific research.
Of the nearly 200 whales the Japanese whalers slaughtered off the island of Hokkaido, 134 are endangered Sei whales. Japan’s Fisheries Agency claims that the stomach contents will be researched “among other things” to satisfy the requirements of the IWC’s loophole. However, it is likely that the meat from these whales will later be sold in markets, leading many to suspect that Japan is using the claim of conducting scientific research as a cover for commercial whaling.
The current chair of the IWC has claimed that the Japanese have a right to the consumption of whale meat as a cultural tradition, even though whaling is a serious threat to the survival of many species, including the Sei whale. Sign this petition to demand that the commission put an end to this legal loophole and prevent Japan from killing these whales in the future.

Goal: Put an end to Japan’s annual whale hunt, conducted under the guise of ‘research purposes.’

Dear Mr. Morishita,
I am writing to insist that your commission put an end to the annual whale hunts conducted by Japan’s Fisheries Agency. As a part of this year’s hunts, Japan has killed just under 200 innocent whales, including 134 endangered Sei whales, all under the guise of conducting scientific research. It is well known that the meat from whales killed during these hunts is later sold, and the scientific value of so-called ‘research whaling’ has been called into question time and again.
Even though there may be a cultural tradition of whale consumption in Japan, whaling is a major threat that could drive sensitive species, such as the Sei whale, to extinction. I urge you to put an end to the legal loophole that currently allows Japan to conduct its whaling expeditions as ‘scientific research’ and to no longer support the killing of whales for human consumption.

Kreeg afgelopen vrijdag een bericht van het Care2 team, waarin de dood van alweer een orka in een bassin van SeaWorld werd gemeld…….

 Volgens SeaWorld San Diego werd Kasatka geëuthanaseerd, daar ze ‘de laatste tijd’ haar eetlust was verloren en haar gezondheid te wensen overliet…… Echter mensen die de situatie van Kasatka kenden, stellen dat het dier al lange tijd ziek was, waar ze zelfs het woord ‘chronisch’ bij gebruiken……..

 Walvissen horen niet in bassins, zo reizen orka’s vele duizenden kilometers tijdens hun leven, alleen dit feit zou genoeg moeten zijn, om nooit weer een walvis op te sluiten, zelfs de kleinsten niet!! Walvisachtigen worden ziek in deze bassins en dit alles om de mens te vertieren………..

Another Suffering Orca Has Died at SeaWorld

The death toll at SeaWorld continues to grow with the loss of another orca who battled chronic health issues. But it isn’t the whale’s death that’s the real tragedy — it’s the life she was forced to live.

SeaWorld made the announcement that Kasatka, the park’s matriarch, was euthanized in San Diego this week. According to SeaWorld, her health and appetite had declined over the past several days.
Despite treatment, the veterinary team decided to end her life to prevent further suffering.

Sadly, Kasatka’s death doesn’t come as a surprise to those who have been monitoring her over the years.

SeaWorld acknowledged that the orca had been battling a respiratory infection that she was diagnosed with in 2008. but many wildlife advocates believe her situation was far worse than the park has admitted.

Still, the disease that ultimately took Kasatka’s life — and the misinformation SeaWorld continues to spread about orcas — is only a part of the story.

While SeaWorld called the whale the “beloved matriarch of our orca family,” the reality is that she was stolen, confined for more than four decades, forced to perform and bred multiple times.

Kasatka was taken from her native waters in Iceland in 1978, and she spent the rest of her life imprisoned. She had four children in captivity, Takara, Nakai, Kalia and Makani; six grandchildren, Kohana, Trua, Sakari, Kamea and Kyara; and two great grandchildren Adan and Victoria, who have all been split up at various parks in California, Texas, Florida and Spain.

Meanwhile, SeaWorld conveniently fails to mention that her granddaughter Kyara and great granddaughter Victoria are both dead too — neither of them even reached their first birthdays.

Had Kasatka been left in the wild, she would only be middle-aged now and may have enjoyed life as a true matriarch, nurturing lifelong bonds with her family members. But, sadly, she was denied that opportunity.

In addition to suffering from health problems, Kasatka also displayed the emotional toll confinement took on her. Unsurprisingly, she was involved in multiple aggressive incidents with trainer Ken Peters, who is lucky to be alive.

Kasatka’s story is ultimately a tragic waste of a beautiful life — and for nothing more than our fleeting amusement and financial gain. Her death now leaves 22 orcas captive in the U.S., including 21 at SeaWorld parks, and Lolita at the Miami Seaquarium.

One by one, these whales will continue to pass. And while we can’t undo the injustices they’ve endured in the past, we can ensure no other marine mammals suffer in the future.

Even though SeaWorld has made a corporate promise to stop breeding, many animal activists are working to make sure the company can’t go back on its word. Whale and dolphin advocates are pushing for lawmakers to pass the Florida Orca Protection Act and urging Congress to pass the Orca
Responsibility and Care Advancement (ORCA) Act – landmark legislation that would permanently ban
keeping orcas in captivity in the U.S.

Hopefully theses efforts will be successful, and we will have a future where orcas receive protection in the wild — where they belong.

Kreeg gisteren een petitie toegestuurd van Care2, waarin de oproep te tekenen tegen het voornemen van de VS luchtmacht, als oefening een leefgebied van dolfijnen en walvissen bij Hawaï te bombarderen……

Te zot voor woorden, deze dieren hebben hun gehoor al zo hoognodig in de door herrie verscheurde stilte van de oceanen, dit door scheepsmotoren, olie- en gaswinning, seismische proeven t.b.v.: de (vooral) VS marine en nogmaals de oliemaffia………

Het is zo, dat zelfs het leven van walvisachtigen afhangt van een uitstekend functionerend gehoor…….

Stop the Air Force from Bombing Hundreds of Dolphins and Whales!

Doelwit: National Marine Fisheries Service: Jolie Harrison, Chief, Permits and Conservation Division, Office of Protected Resources, National Marine Fisheries Service, United States
The U.S. Air Force plans to drop 100 bombs, as large as 300 pounds each, on the waters north of Kauai, Hawaii, each year for the next five years. The Air Force has requested permission to harm 637 whales and dolphins in executing this endeavor. If this plan is approved by the National Marine Fisheries Service (NOAA-Fisheries), it is estimated that dozens of marine mammals would be permanently deafened, and hundreds would suffer from temporary hearing loss and changes in natural behavior. Species that would be affected include the humpback whale, sei whale, minke whale, and Fraser dolphin.

The Air Force has proposed protecting dolphins and whales by looking for them on the surface of the water, a ridiculous strategy given that the waters in the area are more than 15,000 feet deep.
The negative impact of ocean noise on whales and dolphins has been well documented. Marine mammals depend upon sound to navigate, find mates, hunt, and communicate over hundreds of miles. Without the ability to hear, they are rendered unable to perform the most basic tasks necessary to their survival. Noise from military testing, as well as commercial shipping and oil and gas exploration, has caused trauma, deafness, and led to the mass beachings and deaths of dolphins and whales around the world.

As an animal lover, I am deeply saddened that beautiful, intelligent marine mammals around the world are suffering horrifically because of noise pollution caused by humanity. Collateral damage to innocent wildlife should not be considered an acceptable consequence of military testing. Please sign this petition urging NOAA-Fisheries to block plans by the U.S. Air Force that would cause harm to dolphins or whales. For marine mammals to survive and flourish, we must stop noise pollution in our oceans. Any testing plans by the military must give meaningful and effective protection to these magnificent beings.

Sea World, u weet wel, de gore uitbaters met wereldwijd martelplekken en gevangenissen voor walvisachtigen, hebben hun werknemers laten infiltreren in dieren activistische groepen. Dit deed de directie ter bescherming van de bezoekers, medewerkers en de faciliteiten in hun gevangenissen…….. ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha!

 Alsof die dierenactivisten geweld gebruiken tegen bezoekers en personeel……. De topgraaiers van Sea World willen simpelweg geen voorlichting van dierenactivisten aan de deur, dat zou maar onnodig veel bezoekers kunnen afschrikken, geldgewin over de rug van die arme dieren gaat ten slotte voor op alles!!!

 Een bedrijf dat op persoonlijke titel gaat spioneren, godverdomme wat een tuig!!

 Beste lezer: als u kinderen heeft, bezoek dan a.u.b. geen dolfinarium, dat is een hel voor walvisachtigen. U kunt uw kinderen heel goed uitleggen waarom u niet gaat en wel zo, dat ze er trots op zijn, nooit in zo’n vreselijke gevangenis te zijn geweest!! Jaarlijks worden er een paar honderd walvisachtigen gevangen, om ze belachelijke kunstjes te laten doen in Sea World, daar moet eindelijk een eind aan komen, al deze faciliteiten moeten gesloten worden. Zeg het voort!!

 We hebben wel een verbod op wilde dieren in het circus, belachelijk dat dit verbod niet geld voor walvisachtigen, die al in veel te kleine bassins moeten leven!!
