Anti-BDS, pro-Israël wet dreigt aangenomen te worden in Senaat, dit tijdens een schandelijke overheidssluiting

Dat
republikeinen in de VS veelal knettergek zijn is bekend (hetzelfde geldt voor veel democratische politici), maar de absurditeit van onzin argumenten doen mij regelmatig de haren te
berge rijzen….. Zoals een anti-BDS wet die vandaag in de senaat ter stemming komt en die dreigt aangenomen
te worden (ook daar een aantal democraten er achter staan)……. Het wetsvoorstel ingediend door opperschoft Rubio wordt ‘Combating BDS Act of 2019′ genoemd, deze wordt ook aangeduid als ‘S1’. 

BDS is een organisatie die volkomen terecht pleit voor een boycot van de fascistische apartheidsstaat Israël, dit vanwege de barbaarse omgang met de Palestijnen, een omgang die o.a. bestaat uit massamoord op ongewapende demonstranten en het opsluiten van 1,8 miljoen Palestijnen in de Gazastrook; zo meer daarover.

Bernie
Sanders spoog vuur over deze wet en zette de republikeinen te kakken,
republikeinen die achter het belachelijke plan van Trump staan een
muur tussen Mexico en de VS te bouwen en die het prima vinden dat
Trump een groot deel van de VS overheid op slot heeft gedaan…..
Sanders stelt terecht dat het van het allergrootste belang is, uit
die ‘shutdown crisis’ te komen, voordat wat voor wet dan ook wordt
aangenomen, immers een enorm aantal (gezinnen van) overheidsdienaren
zit zonder inkomen…….

Daar
komt voor Sanders bij dat hij het (alweer terecht) schunnig vindt dat
de overheid aanzet tot het inperken van de vrijheid van meningsuiting
en het recht van VS burgers zich met politiek te bemoeien…… Er zijn nu al staten die bedrijven geen overheidsopdrachten meer geven, daar de leiding kritiek heeft op Israël vanwege die omgang met Palestijnen….. Het kan nog gekker beste bezoeker, mensen die geen sociale bijstand krijgen, daar ze in het verleden kritiek hebben geleverd op het meer dan bewezen moorddadige optreden van Israël…… Of wat dacht je van werknemers die worden ontslagen vanwege dezelfde reden…….. 

Alsof
het om gelijke rechten gaat als je het hebt over bazen en werknemers, of kleine bedrijven en de overheid,
stelde Rubio dat het omgekeerd belachelijk is dat deze werkgevers en
overheid geen recht van spreken hebben en van andere bedrijven of van
hun werknemers te verwachten zich niet tegen Israël uit te spreken,
laat staan mee te doen aan de boycot tegen Israël, die o.a. door BDS wordt bepleit…….. Terwijl dat uiteraard
je reinste kul is, het gaat hier immers niet over Luxemburg of een
ander land waar de rechten van mensen worden geëerbiedigd, maar over
de nu fascistische apartheidsstaat Israël dat alleen al dit jaar tijdens de
Palestijnse protesten genaamd de Great Return March, intussen al meer
dan 250 ongewapende mensen heeft vermoord (waaronder kinderen, invaliden, medisch hulpverleners en journalisten….)…. Het Israëlische leger doet dat niet op Israëlische bodem,
maar schiet over de grens op ongewapende Palestijnen in het getto Gazastrook, een getto als dat van Warschau tijdens
WOII…….

En dan
durven zionistisch Joodse organisaties, als ook de Israëlische staat, te stellen dat het
antisemitisme oprukt, waarbij men vredesactivisten en mensen die zich
tegen de bewezen terreur van Israël keren, afschildert als
antisemieten…… Zelfs Joden die zich tegen de grootschalige terreur van Israël verzetten, worden als antisemieten en verraders weggezet…… 

Vergeet
bij dit alles niet dat zelfs de stichting van de staat Israël een
illegale daad was, die ten koste ging van duizenden Palestijnse doden, vermoord door zionisten,
verdrijving uit hun huizen en van hun grond door terreurstaat Israël en het enorme aantal vluchtelingen die e.e.a. opleverde (vluchtelingen die o.a. in
de Gazastrook zitten)………

Mensen,
boycot producten uit Israël, wat eens lukte met de Zuid-Afrikaanse
apartheid kan herhaald worden, er dient zo snel mogelijk een eind te
komen aan het bloedvergieten door terreurstaat Israël!! Niet vreemd dus dat Zuid-Afrika de Palestijnen steunt. Hier een beknopte lijst met Israëlische bedrijven en producten die geboycot zouden moeten worden:

(MEE) — A US Senate measure encouraging states and local governments to “divest” from companies that boycott Israel has stirred controversy in Washington, with civil rights groups rallying against the proposal and Senator Bernie Sanders slamming it as “absurd”.

The
measure, presented in a wider Middle East foreign policy bill, was
introduced last week amidst a partial shutdown of the federal
government, which was caused by a political impasse over funding
between Democrats and President Donald Trump’s Republican Party.      

“It’s
absurd that the first bill during the shutdown is legislation which
punishes Americans who exercise their constitutional right to engage
in political activity,” Sanders wrote on Twitter on Monday.

“Democrats
must block consideration of any bills that don’t reopen the
government. Let’s get our priorities right.”

Newly
elected Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib also criticised the proposal,
which the Senate may vote on as early as Tuesday, urging politicians
to remember that the US Constitution guarantees free speech.

“They
forgot what country they represent. This is the US. where boycotting
is a right & part of our historical fight for freedom &
equality,” she wrote on Twitter.

“Maybe
a refresher on our U.S.. Constitution is in order, then get back to
opening up our government instead of taking our rights away.”

The
statement provoked Marco Rubio, the Republican senator who introduced
the bill last week, to accuse the Palestinian-American congresswoman
of anti-Semitism.

Tlaib
later clarified that her comment was not aimed at Jewish-Americans,
but was about Republicans’ efforts to strip citizens of their right
to freedom of expression instead of focusing on reopening the
government.

Earlier
in the day, Rubio defended the proposal, calling Sanders’ statement
a “lie”.

He
also emphasised that his proposal is legal, despite two federal court
rulings in Kansas and Arizona last
year concluding that it is unconstitutional to force state
contractors to refrain from boycotting Israel.

‘Unconstitutional’

Dozens
of states have passed various forms of anti-BDS bills in recent
years, but several of these measures are currently being challenged
in courts across the US.

While
Rubio’s bill boosts local and state efforts against boycotting
Israel, it also extends to boycotts of “Israeli-controlled
territories”, effectively targeting boycotts of Israeli businesses
in the illegally occupied Palestinian West Bank and Syrian Golan
Heights.

The
proposal is named the “Combating BDS Act of 2019” after the
Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement, which seeks to pressure
Israel economically and politically to end its abuses against
Palestinians.

“My
bill doesn’t punish any political activity. It protects the right
of local & state govts that decide to no longer do business with
those who boycott #Israel. So boycotting #Israel is a constitutional
right, but boycotting those participating in #BDS isn’t?” Rubio
wrote on Twitter.

The
American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) responded to Rubio by
explaining that the First Amendment, which grants US citizens the
right to free speech, belongs to the people, not the government.

“States
don’t have the ‘right’ to punish individuals for participating
in political boycotts the government doesn’t agree with, which this
bill encourages them to do,” the group said on Twitter.

Rubio’s
office did not respond to MEE’s request for comment on Monday.

Later
in the day, ACLU sent a letter to the members of the Senate, calling
on them to reject the bill, “primarily due to First Amendment
concerns”.

“The
Combating BDS Act sends a clear message to Americans who engage on
issues of global importance that if they dare to disagree with their
government, they will be penalized and placed in a lesser class with
fewer opportunities,” the letter said.

“That
message makes a mockery of the constitutional principle that
Americans are free to believe as they choose.”

The
Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) also called on its
supporters to contact their elected officials and urge them to reject
the bill.

“This
unconstitutional bill violates the First Amendment rights of all
Americans to challenge the illegal and discriminatory actions of a
foreign government and goes against the principles of free speech on
which our country was founded,” CAIR government affairs director,
Robert McCaw, said in a statement.

Government
shutdown

Since
late December, about 25 percent of US federal agencies have been
closed because of the disagreement between Trump and Democrats over
the president’s demand to allocate $5bn for a border wall with
Mexico.

The
failure to reach an agreement has killed efforts to pass several
funding bills.

In
that context, Rubio’s anti-BDS measure has been criticised as a
distraction from the more consequential government shutdown, as well.

The
timing of the bill, dubbed S1, as the first order of business of the
new Senate in 2019, has even irked some politicians who are staunch
supporters of Israel.

In
a Twitter post, Senator Ben Cardin, a Democrat who introduced his own
anti-BDS bill in 2017, said Senate
Majority Leader Mitch McConnell should not take up any other piece of
legislation that does not address the “crisis” of the shutdown.

The
ACLU letter also noted the concerning nature of proposing the bill at
a time when lawmakers should be trying to resolve the more pressing
issue of the shutdown.

“It
is particularly alarming that the Senate is considering this bill
amidst a partial government shutdown,” it said.

The
US Campaign for Palestinian Rights provided a sample
letter to
its supporters, calling on them to urge their senators to vote
against the proposed bill.

“I
am especially outraged that while parts of the government remain
shutdown, the Senate would consider its most urgent act to be denying
us our First Amendment rights,” the letter reads.

Nadat Trump zijn ‘besluit’ bekend maakte VS troepen snel terug te trekken uit Syrië, brak er een storm van protest los bij VS politici van de democraten, republikeinen en van Israël. Alsof de bezetting door de VS van Syrisch grondgebied volkomen legitiem was….. Zoals je waarschijnlijk wel weet, is de VS illegaal aanwezig op soeverein Syrisch grondgebied…….

Snel na de verklaring van Trump verzekerde oorlogsmisdadiger Bolton al dat het zo’n vaart niet zou lopen en alsof hij Trump kon besturen, verklaarde deze dat de terugtrekking van VS troepen uit Syrië, niet op stel en sprong zou worden uitgevoerd……..

De corrupte oorlogsmisdadiger Netanyahu had het gore lef te stellen dat voor Israël de legitimatie van de annexatie van de Golanhoogten middels het verkrijgen van soevereiniteit over het gebied, de belangrijkste reden was om te protesteren tegen de terugtrekking van VS troepen uit Syrië, althans zeker niet te snel…

Het is dan ook duidelijk dat Trumps macht intussen aan banden ligt. Bolton die Trump adviseert, stelde dan ook dat de terugtrekking van VS troepen uit Syrië, gecoördineerd zal worden met de fascistische terreur- en apartheidsstaat Israël…..

Overigens is er een tweede reden voor een langzame terugtrekking van VS troepen uit Syrië, waarbij Israël nogmaals een belangrijke rol speelt: Iran en Hezbollah, die beiden strijders hebben in Syrië….. Een langzame terugtrekking van VS troepen, zodat er niet een ‘snelweg’ tussen Iran en Libanon zal ontstaan, een weg waarover Iran dan wapens en ander oorlogstuig voor Hezbollah zou kunnen vervoeren richting Libanon…….. 

Terwijl Israël intussen al honderden gevechtsvluchten heeft uitgevoerd op Syrisch grondgebied (en dat via een illegale aanvliegroute over Libanon….), stuk voor stuk ernstige oorlogsmisdaden, waarbij Israël, als het al toegeeft een bombardement te hebben uitgevoerd, steevast het argument noemt dat men met deze bombardementen heeft willen voorkomen dat er oorlogstuig richting Libanon wordt vervoerd….. Dit in tegenstelling tot bijvoorbeeld de doelen die Israël bombardeert, meestal posities of bases van het reguliere Syrische leger……

Voorts staan de ‘gematigde’ terreurgroepen, inclusief IS, achter de wens van Israël de soevereiniteit over de Golanhoogten te krijgen en definitief aan haar grondgebied toe te voegen….. De terreurgroepen staan achter deze wil van Israël vanwege de hulp die Israël aan die terreurgroepen gaf. Zo heeft Israël meermaals Syrische reguliere troepen gebombardeerd, als zij terreurgroepen in de buurt van de Golanhoogten dreigden te overvleugelen en heeft Israël jihadterroristen die gewond waren geraakt in Syrië, opgeknapt op de Golanhoogten en in ernstige gevallen zelfs in Israëlische in ziekenhuizen……

(MPN) — The state of Israel seems to share at least some of the responsibility for the latest shift of U.S. Syria policy — as National Security Adviser John Bolton announced on Sunday that President Donald Trump’s call to withdraw U.S. troops from Syria would now be “coordinated” with Israel, after meeting with top Israeli officials including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Israel’s main motivation in preventing a swift U.S. exit from Syria was also made explicit by Netanyahu, who openly stated on Twitter that Israel’s push to obtain sovereignty over the occupied Golan Heights – which is internationally recognized as part of Syria – was the driving factor behind Israel’s recent efforts to dramatically slow down Trump’s plan for an “immediate” withdrawal of U.S. troops currently occupying Syrian territory illegally.

As MintPress noted at the time of Trump’s withdrawal announcement, Israel’s influence on Trump’s Middle East policy and Israel’s push towards containing “Iranian influence” in Syria would mean that Trump’s plan to withdraw troops over the alleged defeat of ISIS would likely never materialize if it was opposed by Tel Aviv.

This was apparently and not surprisingly the case as, soon after Trump’s announcement that he planned to bring U.S. troops home from Syria last month, Israel’s government announced that it would dramatically rev up its direct involvement in the Syrian conflict in the U.S.’ absence. That involvement had so far been limited to hundreds of unilateral airstrikes on Syrian government and military targets over the course of the nearly eight-year-long war. Israel’s threat of escalation revealed Israel’s unwillingness to see foreign pressure on Damascus reduced.

Israel’s military — currently headed by Netanyahu, who is also serving as Israel’s defense minister — made good on this promise to increase its military involvement in Syria soon after, using civilian airplanes as cover to launch airstrikes on Syria on Christmas Day.

However, Israel’s reaction to Trump’s announcement appears to have been much more extensive than its decision to increase its airstrikes targeting Syrian territory. After meeting with Netanyahu and the director of Israeli intelligence, Bolton noted on Twitter that the “U.S. drawdown in Syria” would now be “coordinated” with Israel. Also on Sunday, Bolton announced that the U.S. had no timetable for troop withdrawal from Syria and that the troop withdrawal was also conditional.

This is just the latest indication that the state of Israel is acquiring unprecedented influence over U.S. troop deployments in the region, as the commander of U.S. European Command (EURCOM) noted last year that Israeli generals — not American generals — have the power to deploy U.S. troops to Israel to fight on Israel’s behalf. Now, Bolton — after meeting with Israeli officials — has stated that Israel’s government will also wield tremendous influence over whether or not U.S. troops will be leaving Syria.

Spotlight on the Golan Heights

In publicly discussing his meeting with Bolton on Twitter, Netanyahu noted that a key topic of ongoing discussion with Bolton regarding Syria would involve Israel’s claim to the Golan Heights, a plateau bordering Israel, Lebanon and Syria that Israel has occupied since 1967 and later annexed in 1981.

Netanyahu announced that he and Bolton would be traveling together to the area on Monday and added:

The Golan Heights is tremendously important for our security. When you’re there you’ll be able to understand perfectly why we’ll never leave the Golan Heights and why it’s Heights
and why it’s important all countries recognize Israel’s
sovereignty over it.”

As MintPress has
noted in the past, understanding the significance of the Golan
Heights is in many ways key to understanding why the Syrian conflict
was engineered by foreign powers in the first place. This is because,
with the Golan Heights in mind, Israel hatched
a plan
in 2006 to overthrow Syrian President Bashar al-Assad by creating
sectarian strife in the country with the hopes that whoever succeeded
Assad would be willing to relinquish Syria’s claim to the
territory.

Yet,
this plan was never designed to be enacted by Israel but instead by
the United States. The U.S. eventually adopted the plan and the
communications of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton revealed
it was a driving factor in U.S. policy leading up to the genesis of
the Syrian conflict. One of her leaked emails,
published by WikiLeaks, stated that “the best way to help Israel
deal with Iran’s growing nuclear capability is to help the people
of Syria overthrow the regime of Bashar Assad.”

That
same email also noted that “a successful intervention in Syria
would require substantial diplomatic and military leadership from the
United States.” It added that “arming the Syrian rebels and using
Western air power to ground Syrian helicopters and airplanes is a
low-cost high-payoff approach.”

Unsurprisingly,
official recognition of Israel’s annexation of the Golan was
prominent among the regime-change promises touted by Syrian “rebels.”
Over the course of the war, rebels have,  in their bid to
overthrow Assad, offered to “trade”
or sell the
Golan Heights to Israel in exchange for military aid or an
Israeli-imposed “no-fly zone.”

This
also helps explain why Israel was so eager to fund, arm and aid
“rebel” groups along the Syria-Israel border, as it offered the
justification for the Israeli occupation of a “buffer zone” that,
according to Syrian opposition sources and Israeli-American NGOs, was
“intended to keep the Syrian army and its Iranian and Lebanese
allies as far away from Israel’s border as possible, as well as
solidify Israel’s control over the occupied Golan Heights.”
However, the success of the Syrian military’s efforts in southern
Syria forced Israel to abandon its buffer zone and seek other means
to strengthen its claim to the territory.

The
Golan: What’s in it for Israel?

Israel
created this plan to weaken or overthrow the Syrian state largely
because it is eager to cement its claim to the Golan Heights. In
order to accomplish that, regime change in Syria is essential, as the
international community still
refuses to
recognize Israel’s seizure and continued occupation of the Golan as
legal. This bars Israel from commercially developing the area’s
rich resources, which explains Israel’s willingness to go to war
over a seemingly small
and insignificant tract of land. However, a new Syrian government,
one more “friendly” to Israeli interests, could officially
relinquish Syria’s claim to the Golan, paving the way for the
complete and official annexation of the territory by Israel.

At
the time the plan was created, the main motivator for Israel was the
Golan’s freshwater reserves, as the Golan is one
of three sources of
freshwater available to the Israeli state — and is the largest in
size and most abundant, as it includes the mountain streams that feed
Lake Kinneret (the Sea of Galilee) and the headwaters of the Jordan
river.

This
makes this area even more important to Israel, given that Israel is
in its sixth
year of
a drought so massive that a NASA study called it the worst drought in
the region in nearly
900 years.
Thus, the water resources of the Golan Heights are essential to
Israel’s existence as well as its expansionist ambitions.

Though
recent Israeli investment in desalination plants have since reduced
its dependence on Golan water resources, the discovery of oil in the
Golan in 2015 dramatically strengthened Israel’s resolve to gain
complete sovereignty over the occupied territory.

The
oil reserve discovered in the Golan Heights is estimated to contain
“billions of barrels” of crude oil that could turn Israel –
which currently imports the vast majority of its fuel – into a net
oil exporter. Yet, because the Golan Heights are internationally
recognized as being under occupation and not an official part of
Israel, the commercial extraction and export of this vast oil reserve
cannot move forward — until this status changes.

As
a result, only exploratory wells have been drilled, mostly by
a division
of Genie Energy Co.,
a U.S.-based oil company connected to Rupert Murdoch, Jacob
Rothschild, Dick Cheney and former CIA Director James Woolsey, among
other powerful individuals in the U.S. and the U.K.

The
involvement of such influential figures in future oil extraction
endeavors in the Golan Heights – dependent as they are on Israel
acquiring sovereignty over the territory — likely explains why the
U.S., as well as the U.K., has been so willing to help initiate and

Geopolitics
First: The America-Israel Mideast axis

While
Netanyahu’s statements show that the Golan Heights is a key driver
for Israel in its refusal to let the Syrian conflict wind down, it is
important to note that Israel and its allies abroad are also
interested in the partitioning of Syria in order to keep the country
weak and conflict-ridden for the foreseeable future. This call to
partition Syria as well as other countries in the region, such as
Iraq, dates back to the Yinon Plan that was developed in 1982 and
seeks to partition and weaken other regional states through the
engineering of sectarianism, in order to allow Israel to emerge as
the region’s sole superpower.

This
is worth pointing out, given Israel’s recent effort to take control
of the U.S. troop pull-out (or lack thereof) from Syria, as the U.S.
State Department is also promoting a plan as of this past weekend
that would push for the partition of northeastern Syria were U.S.
troops to begin to withdraw from Syrian territory.

Thus,
the announcement that the troop “withdrawal” will now be
coordinated with Israel and that the U.S.’ new policy for
northeastern Syria will involve partition shows that another “America
First” Trump policy has quickly morphed instead into an “Israel
First” plan.

DeBeurs.nl meldde gisteren dat Boskalis een order van 40 miljoen dollar in de wacht heeft gesleept voor onderzeese werkzaamheden ‘in het Midden-Oosten’.

Onlangs wist Boskalis zich al te nomineren voor een grote klus in Saoedi-Arabië*, uiteraard niet zo’n lekker bericht, daar Saoedi-Arabië een genocide uitvoert in Jemen en onlangs vooral veel kritiek kreeg voor de barbaarse moord op Khashoggi, die eerder als journalist voor het dictatoriale koningshuis in S-A werkte, maar zich enige tijd gelden tegen dit bloedige koningshuis heeft uitgesproken. Lullig genoeg was de ophef over die moord groot, terwijl men amper of totaal geen belangstelling had en heeft voor de gaande zijnde genocide in Jemen, zoals gezegd beiden wapenfeiten van Saoedi-Arabië…..
Blijkbaar heeft Boskalis toch commentaar gekregen voor de order in Saoedi-Arabië, vandaar waarschijnlijk dat men nu geen namen van landen noemt en spreekt over het Midden-Oosten, terwijl je er donder op kan zeggen, dat dit werkzaamheden zijn in opdracht van Saoedi-Arabië en de Golfstaten, ook al zijn onderwaterwerkzaamheden aan boorplatforms veelal in opdracht van de grote oliemaatschappijen….. Immers de opbrengsten van olie en gas gaan voor een groot deel naar deze dictatoriaal geregeerde landen, waarmee ze hun moorddadig werk in Jemen kunnen bekostigen…… (ook de Golfstaten vechten mee in Jemen als onderdeel van de Saoedische terreurcoalitie…..)
Ach ja wat wil je, als je ziet dat het afbraakkabinet Rutte 3 exportvergunningen verleent voor wapenonderdelen, waarbij de verantwoordelijke ministers, Kaag van D66 en zijne kwaadaardige hufterigheid Blok van de VVD, durfden te stellen dat het hier geen wapenexport betrof……..

Ondergelopen vluchtelingenkampen in Libanon zijn bevroren door winterstorm

De
ellende voor de vluchtelingen in Libanese opvangkampen is niet meer
te overzien, nadat hun kampementen waren ondergelopen is de boel nu
bevroren door een ijskoude winterstorm…….

Volgens
het hieronder opgenomen artikel zijn er nog steeds meer dan één
miljoen Syrische vluchtelingen in Libanon, waar velen (rond de
miljoen, gezien de cijfers) konden terugkeren naar hun woonplaatsen, die door het
reguliere Syrische leger, Russen en Iraanse troepen werden bevrijd van door het westen gesteunde terreurgroepen (‘gematigde rebellen’)…..

De EU
heeft middels schoften als zijne PvdA kwaadaardigheid Timmermans
gemene zaak gemaakt met het Turkije van de psychopathische
reli-fascist Erdogan…… Met 6 miljard euro aan EU belastinggeld werd de verantwoordelijkheid
voor NB door het westen gecreëerde vluchtelingenstromen
afgekocht…… Waarmee de vluchtelingen het trieste lot in Turkse
provisorische gevangenkampen wachtte (waar zelfs hele gezinnen worden vastgehouden) en waar Turkije nu vluchtelingen
al voor haar grens afschrikt door op hen te
schieten…..

De
situatie in de meeste kampen is desastreus, het ontbreekt er veelal zelfs aan eerste levensbehoeften, kampen in onherbergzame
gebieden, waar advocaten, mensenrechtenorganisaties en andere
hulpverleningsinstanties niet welkom zijn…..* In 2013 gaf de EU
al eens 3 miljard euro aan Turkije om de situatie in de kampen te
verbeteren, het meeste van het geld verdween in de zakken van de
Erdogan kliek…… Verder stuurt Turkije vluchtelingen terug,
rechtstreeks het oorlogsgebied in…..

Middels
deze deal heeft de EU zoals gezegd haar kwade geweten gesust,
vluchtelingen die met de Turkije-deal zouden worden opgenomen door de
EU-lidstaten, wachten daar voor het grootste deel nog steeds op en ook
Nederland laat grotendeels afweten……. ‘Niet vreemd’ dus dat men verder
praktisch niets doet voor vluchtelingen elders, zoals die in Libanon
en Jordanië….. 

Nee, sterker nog dan het voorgaande: de EU steunt nog steeds de
agressie van de VS, de verantwoordelijke voor de situatie in Syrië, Irak, Afghanistan en Libië……. Waar de oorlog in Syrië in feite door de VS en een aantal hielenlikkers van terreurorganisatie NAVO, al in 2006 werd voorbereid als opstand, waarna het
volk Assad af zou zetten en de VS een marionet als dictator kon
installeren (althans dat was het mislukte plan)…….. Zoals we nu weten is deze ‘opstand’ (zoals gezegd) uitgemond in
een oorlog, waardoor de vluchtelingenstromen opgang zijn gekomen……. 

Vergeet verder niet dat de zogenaamde gematigde terreurgroepen ook nog eens door het westen (o.a. Nederland) zijn gesteund en sommige terreurgroepen zoals IS zelfs mede werden opgezet door de VS en Saoedi-Arabië…….

Storms
in Lebanon have flooded Syrian refugee camps, ruining tents,
mattresses and food and compounding the misery of people enduring
powerful winter winds and biting cold, Reuters
reports.

More
than a million Syrians fled to neighbouring Lebanon since war broke
out at home in 2011, and UN agencies say most live of them live in
poverty.

“There
is almost half a metre of water on the ground and in the tents …
the war in Syria forced us into this situation,” said Hussein
Zeidan who came to Lebanon from Homs in Syria in 2011.

He
lives in a makeshift camp near a river in north Lebanon’s Akkar
region. He and some of its other residents said the storm had left
them and their children with no clothes, furniture or food.

Families
were moving around in search of dryness and warmth.

“Water
flooded us in the camp: me and my children. Our situation is bad …
God bless our neighbours, they welcomed us in yesterday night. Today,
water flooded them so we came here, as you can see, to this
half-built house with no windows or doors,” Ghazwan Zeidan, who has
three children, said in Akkar.

The
UN refugee agency said on Tuesday that the storm had completely
flooded or collapsed 15 informal settlements out of at least 66 that
were “heavily impacted”.

In
the Bekaa valley in east Lebanon, the cold temperatures have also
brought snow.

Abu
Shahid, who fled Hasaka in Syria three years ago with his family,
stood in flooded water in an informal camp in Bar Elias village. He
described how his tent had completely submerged, damaging all his
family’s belongings.

“The
only solution is to leave our things and move, run away with our
lives … Water is everywhere, where do we go?,” he said. The
previous night, he and his wife and two children had slept in a
neighbour’s tent that was less damaged by the floods.

For
19-year-old Hamed Haj Abu and his relatives, the night was cold and
wet.

“We
did not sleep all night. Some were sleeping for an hour, others were
waking up. Water was coming on us, in the tent, from everywhere,”
he said in Bar Elias.

“My
brother and his family first came to us, they are living nearby. We
all did not sleep, we left the tent all together, we can’t sit,
look, water is flooding, we can’t sleep on water.”

Varkens
in Nood luidt de noodklok over de enorme biggensterfte in ons land,
een sterfte die plaats vindt in de intensieve martelveehouderij, nog
voor deze dieren zouden worden vermoord in slachthuizen…….

Zeugen
werpen jaarlijks 30 biggen dat is 6 keer meer dan normaal en op zich
al een marteling van formaat…..

In
2009 trok Varkens in Nood al aan de bel over de enorm hoge
biggensterfte, destijds 12,9% van het totaal aantal biggen) en de
destijds verantwoordelijk CDA minister, hare boosaardigheid Verburg
(mede moordenaar van Q-koorts patiënten) gaf de varkensboeren
godbetert tot 2018 de tijd om iets aan die sterfte te doen, in dat
jaar zou volgens Verburg de sterfte moeten zijn teruggedrongen tot
10%……. (zo’n lange termijn is een schande van jewelste, om niet
te zeggen een enorme misdaad tegen de arme dieren in die
doodsindustrie! Dan nog het percentage, zelfs 10% is veel te
veel….)

In
2016 was het aantal gestorven biggen niet afgenomen, maar juist
toegenomen tot 13,9%…!! Ondanks dat feit nam de verantwoordelijk
staatssecretaris destijds, PvdA hufter en dierenbeul van Dam, geen
maatregelen……

De
overkoepelende organisatie van dierenbeulen die zich
‘varkenshoudsers’ noemen, ofwel ´producentenorganisatie
varkenshouderij’ (POV; varkens teruggebracht tot ‘product….’), is
van oordeel dat het maximale is gehaald en dat verdere sterfte
terugdringing tot onder de 13% niet mogelijk is……..

Intussen
is ‘Christen’Unie minister, leeghoofd Schouten de verantwoordelijke
en ook zij onderneemt hoegenaamd niets, terwijl in 10 jaar tijd de
situatie alleen maar is verslechterd……

Mensen,
stop met het eten van vlees, daarmee voorkom je dit soort schandalen en doe je je lichaam een groot plezier. Vleeseten is verantwoordelijk
voor klachten in de volgende organen: hart, lever, nieren, huid, maag
en darmen, waarin de laatste 2 veel kankers voorkomen door het eten van vlees,
bovenal doe je de gemartelde dieren er een groot plezier mee….. Door het
eten van vlees ben je mede verantwoordelijk voor de enorme
dierenmishandeling in de intensieve veehouderij……

Wat
betreft het laatste: ook ‘Beter leven sterren’ zijn leuk voor het
geweten, maar uiteindelijk worden ook die dieren veelal veel te vroeg
vermoord, daar ze na een bepaalde leeftijd niet productief genoeg
zijn………..

Varkens
in Nood luidt noodklok over biggensterfte

Jaarlijks
sterven ruim 5 miljoen biggen nog voor de slacht. De varkenssector
belooft al tien jaar beterschap aan steeds weer nieuwe ministers van
landbouw, maar de biggensterfte daalt niet. De varkenssector lijkt
zich er bij neer te leggen. Varkens in Nood roept de minister met
klem op om in te grijpen.

Steeds
meer biggen per bevalling

Elk
jaar sterven miljoenen biggen nog voor ze vier weken oud zijn. De
hoofdoorzaak is het groeiende aantal biggen dat per zeug wordt
geboren. Zeugen in de intensieve varkenshouderij baren inmiddels meer
dan 30 biggen per jaar. Dat zijn er zes keer meer dan normaal is
voor een varken. Door
die toename is het gemiddelde geboortegewicht per big afgenomen.
Lichtere biggen zijn zwakker en kwetsbaarder en lopen een hoger
risico om vroegtijdig te sterven. Toch blijven varkenshouders stug
door fokken op meer biggen per zeug, de worpgrootte stijgt nog steeds
met een halve big per jaar.

Overheid
neemt geen verantwoordelijkheid

In
2009 luidde Varkens in Nood voor het eerst de noodklok over de hoge
biggensterfte van 12,9% in 2008. Toenmalig minister Gerda Verburg
riep de sector op om voor het eind van 2018 de biggensterfte terug te
dringen naar maximaal 10,5%. In 2016 bleek het sterftepercentage
verder gestegen naar 13,9%. Staatssecretaris Martijn van Dam dreigde
destijds een wettelijke limiet te stellen aan het aantal biggen per
worp. Maar de sector beloofde nogmaals beterschap en kreeg wederom
uitstel.

Sector
geeft het op

De
overkoepelende producentenorganisatie varkenshouderij (POV) lijkt
zich inmiddels neer te leggen bij de hoge sterftecijfers. “Misschien
is 13 procent wel het best haalbare”, stelt voorzitter Janssen.
Ook op de website van
POV is te lezen: ‘Met de wetenschap van nu, concludeert de POV dat
de doelstelling in 2009 te ambitieus was.’

Brandbrief
minister Schouten

Kunnen
al die beloftes aan de overheid van de laatste tien jaar zo eenvoudig
overboord worden gegooid? Varkens in Nood vindt dat onacceptabel en
eist dat de minister nu eindelijk eens ingrijpt. De organisatie roept
haar achterban op om de brandbrief aan Schouten te ondertekenen. Zo
moet duidelijk worden dat het aanpakken van de biggensterfte nu écht
niet langer mag worden overgelaten aan de sector. Tien jaar falen is
genoeg.

mail je over een onderwerp dat mij enorm aan het hart gaat, namelijk
de vee-industrie. Ik kan de
schandalen rondom veefabrieken niet
meer zien: stalbranden, dierenleed, besmet vlees, water- en
luchtvervuiling. Ook schandalig is dat de grootste verliezers vaak
onderbelicht blijven: ons klimaat en de natuur. 

Als
bewuste consument wil ik klimaatverandering tegengaan, net als jij.
Maar ongewild worden we er toch bij betrokken. Hoe? Bijvoorbeeld door
de grootste investeerder in deze industrie veel geld toe te
vertrouwen. Want of je nu Rabo-klant bent, of niet: door miljarden in
veefabrieken te pompen, is de Rabobank de ronkende financiële motor
achter dit systeem. Dit pik ik niet langer, daarom

Als
we onze mooie planeet willen sparen, kan de schadelijke vlees- en
zuivelindustrie niet langer zo doorgroeien. Voor
Rabo zit er maar één ding op: stoppen met investeren in
veefabrieken en
gebruik van het kapitaal voor een duurzame, ecologische toekomst met
minder dieren.

De bank investeert bijna 40
procent van
haar landbouw-potje in de wereldwijde vlees- en zuivelsector. Met
deze € 38 miljard houdt Rabobank de productieketen in een ijzeren
greep. Om je een idee te geven: ruim
100 miljoen mensen in 140 landen eten dagelijks vlees dat in
Nederland is ‘geproduceerd’. Tot
deze hoeveelheden kom je alleen met veefabrieken, niet met
boerderijen.

Aanslag op Frank Magnitz, landelijk politicus van de fascistische AfD

Frank Magnitz (‘Mag nitz’, een toepasselijke achternaam) van de fascistische partij Alternative für Deutschland (AfD), was gisteren het doelwit van een aanslag. De schoft heeft de aanslag overleefd en toont maar al te graag de foto’s aan de pers waarop hij te zien is in een ziekenhuisbed en naar ik meen te hebben gehoord, zelfs de foto’s van hem die vlak na de aanslag werden gemaakt. Ofwel ook deze aanslag is koren op de molen van de fascisten in Duitsland en daarbuiten…..

Men spreekt over ‘halfdood geslagen’, terwijl Magnitz waarschijnlijk komend weekeinde weer naar huis mag……

Uiteraard grote ophef in Duitsland (en elders), zelfs Die Grünen hebben de aanslag met afschuw veroordeeld. Echter bij de nieuwsredactie van de NOS heeft men het blijkbaar te druk met het verzamelen van niet ter zake doende zaken, daar men in het Radio1 nieuws van 9.00 u. vanmorgen wist te melden dat andere partijen geen commentaar hebben gegeven op deze aanslag…… (nogmaals: het tegendeel is waar)

Wat zou er gebeurd zijn als Hitler, Himmler en Goebbels laten we zeggen in 1932 waren omgekomen bij een dergelijke aanslag?? Juist, ook dan had men van alle kanten moord en brand geschreeuwd, terwijl het grote onheil wat deze figuren hebben aangericht dan waarschijnlijk niet had plaatsgevonden…..

Anno 2018 is het fascisme wereldwijd, maar vooral in Europa sterk in opkomst……. Ondanks dat leden van de AfD nu stellen dat ze continu gedemoniseerd worden, is het juist deze partij die een hetze voert tegen alles wat niet Duits is, waarbij ze angst- en haatzaaien tegen minderheden in Duitsland, precies wat de nazi’s al voor 1933 hebben gedaan (in dat jaar kwamen de nazi’s aan de macht in Duitsland, om daarna geleidelijk de democratie de nek om te draaiden…)……

Gezien deze zaken zou je het ‘bijna toejuichen’ als fascisten met invloed worden omgelegd, maar ja dat mag nu eenmaal niet zeggen……

De VS geeft miljarden uit om verkiezingen elders te beïnvloeden en daar blijft het niet bij…….

Mochten de resultaten van dergelijke smerige beïnvloeding door de VS niet naar wens zijn, kan je er bijna zeker van zijn, dat de VS een staatsgreep in een dergelijk land zal organiseren, het liefst via een opstand, zodat men haar smerige machinaties kan legitimeren……. Veelal gebeurt dit door eerst een ‘stille’ economische oorlog tegen zo’n land te beginnen (door sterke druk uit te oefenen op grote bedrijven die bijvoorbeeld winkelketens in zo’n land hebben en hen te dwingen de winkels niet langer te bevoorraden, zie wat dit betreft Venezuela….), ‘stil’ daar de VS dit uiteraard niet aan de grote klok hangt, gevolg is dan wel dat de bevolking de straat op zal gaan uit ontevredenheid over de persoonlijke (financiële) omstandigheden…..

 Wat betreft directe staatsgrepen: neem Honduras in 2009, destijds hebben Hillary Clinton en de CIA daar een staatsgreep georganiseerd tegen de democratisch gekozen linkse regering…… Een staatsgreep die intussen aan duizenden het leven heeft gekost, daarnaast zijn er veel Hondurezen verdwenen, ofwel ook vermoord door de Junta die de VS daar parachuteerde….. Voorts zijn een enorm aantal mensen op de vlucht geslagen, o.a. richting VS (zoals het grootste deel van de Karavaan die al op weg was naar de VS, vóór de midterm verkiezingen in dat middels een genocide gestolen land…….)
Kovalik noemt ook Rusland als een land waar de VS de verkiezing van de corrupte alcoholverslaafde Jeltsin in 1996 veiligstelde met een slordige miljard dollar….. Je zou zelfs kunnen stellen dat de VS mede verantwoordelijk is voor de ‘oligarchen’ die Rusland destijds hebben leeggestolen…..
Hoe durven politici in de VS en de rest van het westen, alsmede de reguliere massamedia in het westen, nog met de vieze vingers naar Rusland te wijzen als grote manipulator van de VS presidentsverkiezingen, terwijl er geen enkel bewijs werd en wordt geleverd voor deze leugen en de VS zelf overal waar het haar uitkomt opstanden (zoals gezegd gevoed met een stille economische oorlog), staatsgrepen en illegale oorlogen organiseert, waar overigens honderden meters aan dossiers met bewijzen voor zijn te vinden, neem alleen al WikiLeaks en dan m.n. de Vault 7 en 8 documenten op deze (echte) klokkenluiderswebsite……..

Kovalik’s first two books tackled the specific US war drives against Russia and Iran. His third installment, The Plot to Control the World: How the US Spent Billions to Change the Outcome of Elections Around the World, addresses the broad scope of US election meddling abroad. The book provides much needed political and ideological life support to an anti-war movement in the U.S that has been rendered nearly invisible to the naked eye.
The Plot to Control the World is as detailed in its critique of U.S. imperialism as it is concise. In just over 160 pages, Kovalik manages to analyze the various ways that the U.S. political and military apparatus interferes in the affairs of nations abroad to achieve global hegemony. He wastes no time in exposing the devastating lie that is American exceptionalism, beginning appropriately with the U.S. imperialist occupations of Haiti and the Philippines at the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th. The U.S. would murder millions of Filipinos and send both nations into a spiral of violence, instability, and poverty that continues to this day. As Kovalik explains regarding Haiti, “While the specific, claimed justifications for [U.S.] intervention changed over time- e.g., opposing the end of slavery, enforcing the Monroe Doctrine, fighting Communism, fighting drugs, restoring law and order — the fact is that the interventions never stopped and the results for the Haitian people have been invariably disastrous.”

US expansionism has relied upon the ideology of American exceptionalism to silence criticism and weaken anti-war forces in the United States. American exceptionalism claims that the U.S. is a force for good in the world and completely justified in its wars of conquest draped in the cover of spreading “democracy and freedom” around the world. Kovalik challenges American exceptionalism by showing readers just how much damage that US expansionism and militarism has caused for nations and peoples in every region of the planet.Russia, Honduras, Guatemala, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Vietnam and many other nations have seen their societies devastated by U.S. “election meddling.” In Honduras, for example, a U.S.-backed coup of left-wing President Manuel Zelaya in 2009 made the nation one of the most dangerous places in the world to be a journalist, indigenous person, or trade-union/environmental activist. Thousands of Hondurans have been displaced, disappeared, or assassinated since the coup.
Another important aspect of The Plot to Control the World is its exposure of U.S hypocrisy surrounding the subject of “election meddling.” Since the end of the 2016 Presidential elections, the U.S. military, political, and media branches of the imperialist state have accused Russia of virtually implanting Donald Trump into the Oval office. No evidence has been presented to prove the conspiracy, as a recent National Public Radio (NPR) analysis states plainly. Just ask the much-vaunted Russians. Kovalik devotes an entire chapter to the 1996 Presidential election in Russia that re-elected the wildly unpopular Boris Yeltsin. The fall of the Soviet Union in 1991 began an era of “shock therapy” in the newly erected Russian Federation, a euphemism for the wholesale theft and transfer of socialized wealth into the hands of oligarchs and multinational corporations. Millions would perish in Russia from an early death due to the sudden loss of healthcare, housing, jobs, and other basic services. In 1996, President Bill Clinton ensured that Yeltsin maintained his near total grip on state power in Russia by providing the Russian President with a team of U.S. political consultants and over a billion dollars’ worth of IMF monies directly to the campaign. U.S. political and monetary support allowed Yeltsin to rig the election in his favor despite his dwindling popularity. Kovalik shows that if anyone should worry about election meddling, it should be the people of Russia and not the US elites that control Washington.
The Plot to Control the World takes readers into the Democratic Republic of Congo, where the CIA’s coup of revolutionary Patrice Lumumba continues to haunt the resource rich nation in the form of endless US-backed genocide. It travels to Guatemala, where the CIA overthrow of Jacobo Arbenz led to a U.S.-backed slaughter of a quarter million Guatemalans under the auspices of several military dictatorships. Kovalik shows us that the election of the fascistic Jair Bolsonaro in Brazil was no aberration, as the U.S. was primarily responsible for the rise in fascism in Brazil through its direct role in placing the nation under the control of a military dictatorship in 1964. The military dictatorship predated the CIA’s ouster of Chile’s Salvador Allende in 1973, which handed the once socialist state to Augusto Pinochet’s murderous and repressive leadership.

The entire skeleton of the U.S. military state is on full display in The Plot to Control the World. The U.S. military state utilizes an array of tools to overthrow democratically-elected governments that it deems to be a threat to corporate interests. These tools include the U.S. intelligence agencies, so-called Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs) such as the National Endowment for Democracy, and the various branches of the military itself, to name a few. Regardless of the tools employed, the mission is always the same: to destabilize independent nations that refuses to bow down to the dictates of U.S. imperialism. Thus, while Nicaragua, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Vietnam may possess unique histories, their economic and political development has been shaped by the destructive interference of the United States.
Dan Kovalik is not likely to be reviewed in the New York Timesor other corporate outlets. That’s because Kovalik unapologetically speaks out against U.S. empire and all that upholds it. In doing so, Kovalik’s The Plot to Control the World walks in the footsteps of anti-imperialists such as Michael Parenti and William Blum. Blum, a former State Department employee, spent his post-State Department life providing humanity with knowledge about how US imperialism operates on the global stage. The New York Times wasted no time in slandering Blum in their obituary . This showed the great lengths that the ruling elites will go to discredit, defame, and condemn critics of the military industrial complex and how important it is for those who oppose war let go of any expectation that the corporate media will cover Kovalik’s work or anyone else who speaks out against war.

With that said, one of the reasons that the left in the U.S. is so weak is because it has been numerically and politically isolated by the lies of the Empire. U.S. imperialism has made sure that Americans feel that they are special colonizers who see the victims of the U.S. military state as savages worthy of slaughter. The Plot to Control the World is based on a different premise: internationalism. The book links the struggle against US imperialism to the needs of the oppressed and working class living in the heart of empire, making it an essential read for those who are sick and tired of the prevailing narrative of American exceptionalism and want to be armed with knowledge that is essential toward changing it.

complex and how important it is for those who oppose war let go of
any expectation that the corporate media will cover Kovalik’s work
or anyone else who speaks out against war.

working class living in the heart of empire, making it an essential
read for those who are sick and tired of the prevailing narrative of
American exceptionalism and want to be armed with knowledge that is
essential toward changing it.

Zo heeft Hillary Clinton als minister van buitenlandse zaken onder
‘vredesduif’ Obama 4 miljard dollar uitgegeven voor het organiseren
van een opstand in Oekraïne, de bloedige opstand die moest leiden tot
de coup tegen het democratisch gekozen Janoekovytsj regime, een beproefde VS methode die ook in dit geval lukte (in Syrië liep het spaak)….. Daarmee is de VS dan ook
verantwoordelijk voor de oorlog die de door haar geïnstalleerde
neonazi-junta, o.l.v. de zwaar corrupte schoft Porosjenko, voert tegen de
bevolking van Oost-Oekraïne…… Een bevolking die volkomen terecht hun democratisch

(van de miljarden die Oekraïne als hulp kreeg van de EU en de VS is niets meer over, voor het grootste deel verdwenen op de buitenlandse bankrekeningen van de Porosjenko junta, voorts werd een deel uitgegeven aan oorlogsvoering tegen de bevolking van Oost-Oekraïne….)

SGP vond ‘t nodig om alle wetenschap die intussen voorhanden is over de geaardheid van mensen tot van nul en generlei waarde te verklaren, je weet wel, de gerichtheid die bepaald waar je als mens seksueel staat in de maatschappij…… De SGP wil dan ook laten weten dat zij homoseksualiteit veroordelen…… Op wat voor grond, vraag je je wellicht af, welnu simpel: omdat het staat in het grote boze sprookjesboek van de christenen, de bijbel….. ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Alsof men destijds al kennis had van deze zaken, i.p.v. het toen al en nu nog steeds bestaande achterlijke mensbeeld…….

Eén en ander n.a.v. de Nashville-verklaring die uit de VS is overgewaaid en waarin homo’s worden veroordeeld en als zondig worden neergezet, alles overgoten met teksten uit de bijbel, zelfs de tekst dat homo’s moeten worden gedood….. Het valt me nog mee dat een paar SGP bonzen daar een klein vraagteken bij hebben geplaatst.

Het lullige voor de fundi-christenen is wel dat men daar ongelofelijk hypocriet is en waar men een geloof belijdt, waar kindermisbruik duidelijk meer voorkomt dan elders…… Geen seks voor het huwelijk, maar ondertussen wel incest goedpraten, dat zoals gezegd in christelijke fundi-kringen relatief vaker voorkomt……….. (maar ja, dat krijg je met seksueel gefrustreerden, zie ook het celibaat in de rk kerk en het enorme aantal gevallen van kindermisbruik door rk geestelijken…..)

Men was in de Kamer en het kabinet nogal geschokt door de actie van de SGP, terwijl men morgen gerust weer op deze partij leunt als het om implementeren van inhumane maatregelen gaat, of als men steun nodig heeft voor een motie…… Partijen als de SGP en bewegingen als de PVV zou men niet meer moeten gebruiken als het goed uitkomt, deze partijen dienen als de donder te verdwijnen, de ellende die christenen en fascisten over de wereld hebben gebracht is met geen pen te beschrijven >> het is 2018, weg met dit geteisem, uit de politiek!!

PS: in Standpunt sprak men ook over deze veroordeling van homo’s, waar presentator Plag in gesprek met een fundi-christen te horen kreeg dat ze christelijk was, waarom was haar vraag, omdat ze voor de KRO-NCRV werkt, aldus de fundamentalist. Volgens Plag is het niet per se nodig dat je daarvoor christelijk moet zijn, het gaat om je gedachtegoed, het kijken naar de maatschappij en de hele samenleving…… ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ‘Ja dat zit wel goed bij KRO-NCRV….’ (maar niet heus)
