Hier een bericht van RootsAction, waarin wordt opgeroepen een petitie te tekenen, waarin westerse landen wordt gevraagd, Saoedi-Arabië niet langer van wapens te voorzien, sancties te nemen tegen dit land en het land op een aantal andere gebieden te boycotten. Dit zolang Saoedi-Arabië niet stopt met de militaire agressie, nu weer tegen Jemen en eindelijk de mensenrechten te respecteren in eigen land.
Wat betreft 911 ben ik het niet eens met RootsAction, maar dat wil niet zeggen, dat Saoedi-Arabië niet overduidelijk terreurgroepen steunt, zoals de VS dat ook doet. Die twee landen kunnen het overigens verdacht goed met elkaar vinden op het gebied van terreur uitoefenen….. Ondanks dat de VS zegt oorlog te voeren, om vrijheid en democratie te brengen (zoals in Syrië), is daar bij hun ‘geweldige partner’ Saoedi-Arabië geen sprake van, sterker nog: dat land lapt alle mensenrechten aan de bloederige laars en martelt en executeert mensen op grote schaal…… Bovendien is dat streven gedoemd is te mislukken, zie de chaos die de VS na allerlei ingrepen achterlaat, zoals in Irak, Afghanistan en Libië……… Voorts zijn de VS, Saoedi-Arabië, Turkije en nog wat landen, verantwoordelijk voor de grote ellende in Syrië!!

huge amounts of U.S. and European weaponry, which it uses to
slaughter civilians in Yemen, including bombing a hospital, and to
repress democracy at home and in neighboring Bahrain. -
Saudi Arabia sells
huge amounts of fossil fuels to the United States and other
nations, which they use to render the earth’s climate uninhabitable.

Saudi Arabia is the
leading source of funding for violent groups terrorizing the
Middle East, as well as the attacks in the United States on
September 11, 2001. -
Saudi
Arabia brutally oppresses its own people, including beheading
pro-democracy activists.
Western
powers have generally seen points 1 and 2 above as positive — so
positive in fact as to require ignoring points 3 and 4. It is time we
changed this perspective.
