Deze stelde met grote zekerheid dat er nooit eerder een president zo laag in de peiling stond als Trump wat betreft zijn populariteit, namelijk 35%…….
Ik weet niet wat jij ervan vindt, maar 35% van de stemmen, voor een psychopathische imbeciel, lijkt me ‘wel wat teveel’ van het ‘goede….’ Een plork die de onderlaag (vooral ook aanwezig in zijn achterban) nog verder uitknijpt dan ooit voor mogelijk gehouden. Dezelfde ploert die de welgestelden en de bedrijven een kerstgeschenk van miljarden dollars gaf (o.a. aan Shell…)….
Het militair-industrieel complex heeft nooit eerder zulke winsten gemaakt als het afgelopen jaar onder Trump en dat zal de komende jaren nog verder groeien, althans als hij de meerderheid bij de komende Senaatsverkiezingen weet te behouden en zijn partij niet te ver van zich vervreemd, maar dat ‘zit wel goed’ geloof ik…… Deze Trump die intussen bezig is de illegale oorlogen te verhevigen in Irak, Syrië en Afghanistan, die bezig is met oefeningen op het binnenvallen van China, Rusland, Iran en nog ‘wat’ Afrikaanse landen……. Geen twijfel mogelijk, die 35% is 30% te hoog!
Bovendien zou ik me wel sterk moeten vergissen, als George W. Bush voor de aanslagen van 9/11 (911, wat je wilt) op een percentage van rond de 25 zat……. Niet alleen daarom werden de aanslagen op het juiste moment gepleegd……
Vanmiddag op BBC Radio Scotland aandacht voor de Schotse arbeiders die in 1974 weigerden straalmotoren van Chileense straaljagers te reviseren.
Arbeiders ontdekten na aankomst van de motoren bij een werkplaats van Rolls-Royce in Schotland, dat het om motoren ging van Chileense straaljagers, die misschien zelfs werden gebruikt bij de door de CIA geleidde coup tegen de democratisch gekozen regering van Salvador Allende…… Daarbij werd o.a. het paleis beschoten waar Allende zich bevond en waar men hem later uiterst laf vermoordde…….. Dit vond trouwens plaats op 11 september 1973, ofwel de eerste 911 aanslag waarvoor de CIA hoofdverantwoordelijk was…..

Gisteren was het 76 jaar geleden dat de Japanse ‘verrassingsaanval’ op Pearl Harbor plaatsvond. Intussen is het al lang bekend dat deze aanval geen verrassing was voor de VS, sterker nog: dat deze werd uitgelokt door de VS…….
Terwijl het Pentagon en president Roosevelt op de hoogte waren van de naderende Japanse aanval, ondernamen ze zelfs niets om de eigen manschappen te sparen……..
De opzet was toestemming te krijgen van het Congres om Japan en Duitsland de oorlog te verklaren, iets waarvoor het toenmalige militair-industriële complex uiteraard al een fikse lobby op poten had gezet…… Uiteindelijk heeft dat voor West-Europa goede gevolgen gehad, immers de landingen in Frankrijk (D-Day Operatie Overlord) waren niet mogelijk geweest zonder de deelname van de VS in de jaren daaraan voorafgaand.
Al was oorlog met Duitsland niet te voorkomen geweest, daar de VS Groot-Brittannië steunde middels enorme transporten met o.a. oorlogstuig, munitie, voedsel en brandstof. Duitse onderzeeërs (U-Boten) torpedeerden deze veelal VS schepen al voor de aanval op Pearl Harbor en het wachten was dan ook op de oorlogsverklaring van de VS aan nazi-Duitsland.
Ook bij de aanslagen van 911 waren er economische voordelen te behalen voor het militair-industrieel complex, immers de Koude Oorlog was voorbij en de winsten voor deze industrie lieten al lang niet meer de enorme groei zien, zoals die tijdens de laatste 15 jaar van de Koude Oorlog. Bovendien ging het niet goed op de beurs en had de Bush administratie er belang bij dat een aantal financiële bestanden werden vernietigd, bestanden die zich in de Twin Towers bevonden……. Neem de leugens achteraf, dat de beurs onderuit ging door de aanslagen van 911, terwijl die neergang al een paar maanden aan de gang was…..
Ook president Bush* kon deze aanslagen overigens goed gebruiken, hij was in een aantal maanden qua populariteit ongelofelijk gekelderd in de peilingen…….
Het is intussen meer dan duidelijk dat minstens de CIA en de NSA een hand hadden in de aanslagen van 911, hoogstwaarschijnlijk met hulp van de Israëlische Mossad……. Deze aanslagen, waarbij 3.000 mensen omkwamen, heeft tot de moord op meer dan 2 miljoen mensen geleid, dit door de VS of o.l.v. de VS in illegale oorlogen……

Johnson betoogt terecht in zijn schrijven dat de reguliere (massa-) media in de VS wel aandacht hebben voor het feit dat de VS voorlopig niet van zins is Afghanistan te verlaten, maar geen woord vuil maakt aan het aantal burgerslachtoffers, die werden vermoord met VS geweld. Uiteraard wel aandacht voor het sturen van meer VS troepen naar dit land, dat al meer dan 15 jaar zucht onder de terreur van de VS en een aantal van haar NAVO partners………
Waar ik nog aan toe zou willen voegen, dat er bij diezelfde media amper aandacht is voor het mislukken van deze oorlog, een zaak die men al vanaf 2006 kon waarnemen, ook in deze wel aandacht van diezelfde media voor de ‘successen’ die de VS coalitie maakt, successen als het uitschakelen van een Taliban-kopstuk, het uitschakelen van Taliban-strijders, of het mislukken van een Taliban-aanslag………..
Johnson betoogt voorts in zijn artikel, dat de massamedia in de VS het liefst geen aandacht schenken aan het aantal VS militairen dat omkwam in Afghanistan, of wat de enorme kosten voor de belastingbetaler zijn van deze illegale oorlog…….
Hetzelfde geldt voor de oorzaak van deze oorlog, het in feite illegaal binnenvallen van een soeverein land door de VS, een enorme terreurdaad die uiteraard niet zo wordt verwoord door diezelfde media (als het voorgaande, geldt dit ook voor de verdere westerse massamedia)…… Alsof de VS met een nobel voornemen de bijna grootste oorlogsmisdaad begon die te bedenken is, een illegale inval (ofwel oorlog) in een land waar het niets te zoeken had of heeft……..
De Taliban moesten niets hebben van Al Qaida, bovendien is het intussen duidelijk, dat Osama Bin Laden, zogenaamd het brein achter de 911 aanslagen, zich niet eens in Afghanistan bevond…… Daarnaast is het intussen wel duidelijk, dat de aanslagen van 911 grotendeels in de VS zijn uitgebroed……..
Door deze illegale oorlog van de VS tegen Afghanistan, zijn intussen meer dan 31.000 Afghanen vermoord, waaraan Nederland mede schuld is…………

Media Reporting on Afghanistan Escalation Conveniently Omits Dead
Civilians
(FAIR) — As
President Donald Trump tries to make the case for staying
indefinitely in Afghanistan, the stakes for those actually living
there are rarely broached by US corporate media.
In
dozens of write-ups, recaps and reports on Trump’s “major”
Afghan War speech, almost no outlets took time out to note the plight
or condition of the people the US is nominally there to save. The New
York Times (8/21/17, 8/22/17), Washington
Post (8/21/17), Chicago
Tribune (8/22/17), CNN (8/21/17, 8/21/17), NBC
News (8/21/17), ABC
News (8/21/17)
and CBS
News (8/21/17),
among others, didn’t mention the Afghan death toll at all in their
summary of events in the region.
Almost
all, however, reserved airtime and column inches to mention the
number of US soldiers and cost to the US treasury—presumably the
only moral metric that matters. One notable exception was Ali Velshi
at MSNBC (8/21/17),
who did mention live on air how many Afghans were killed in the first
half of 2017—a scope curiously limited to the term of the current
Republican president, but an improvement on silence nonetheless.
US
media also continued their rich
tradition of
not blaming the US or Trump for the war—instead laying
responsibility at the feet of some unknown geopolitical dark matter
that has forced the US to occupy Afghanistan permanently. The US
isn’t waging ongoing war in the Central Asian country; it is simply
“stuck,” according to the AP (8/21/17)
and the Washington
Post’s Karen
Tumulty.
Trump isn’t continuing the occupation; according to the Sacramento
Bee (8/21/17);
he “Keeps US Stuck in Afghanistan Quagmire.” The US doesn’t
seek further war and occupation, but to “break free from the
quagmire,” the Chicago
Tribune(8/22/17)
spells out.* Bush, Obama and Trump didn’t make a deliberate choice
to bomb Afghanistan, according to PBS’s
Judy Woodruff (8/21/17);
attacking the country just became “the burden of three
presidents.” War was consistently depicted as being thrust upon the
US government by forces outside of its control.
The
number of Afghan civilians killed during the 16-year US military
occupation is well over 31,000, according
to researchers at
Brown University. The average American couldn’t possibly know this
fact, since it’s almost never mentioned when weighing the
cost/benefit ratio of further military occupation and bombing.
Just
as the thousands killed in Yemen by US-backed Saudi bombing don’t
inform coverage of
the famine there, the causal effect of US military action on poor,
faceless brown people is never clearly laid out. The US bombs and, on
a totally separate note, people are dying. That the United States may
be causing the suffering, and could choose to stop doing so, is never
really considered, much less argued in any meaningful way.
*The Chicago
Tribuneeditorial does
mention civilian deaths, referring to a 2016
UN report,
but the paper attributes them solely to “ambushes and suicide bomb
attacks” by insurgent forces, whereas the UN holds the US and the
US-backed government responsible for nearly a quarter of the carnage
there. The Tribune also
misstates the UN civilian death toll more than threefold, confusing
deaths with casualties (which include injuries).
Het zal u niet ontgaan zijn gisteren, de herdenking van de dag 16 jaar na de terreuraanvallen op de Twin Towers (WTC) en andere doelen in de VS. Brasscheck TV bracht een aantal video’s waarin de gang van zaken onder de loep worden genomen en zoals u waarschijnlijk wel weet, de zaak stinkt van voor naar achter. De video’s vindt u onder een uitstekend artikel van Derrick Broze, die schrijft over het instorten van WTC gebouw 7 een andere onderdeel van het WTC complex waarvan de Twin Towers deel uitmaakten.
Velen zien in het instorten van WTC 7 volkomen terecht, dat de VS regering een grote leugenactie op touw zette, waarmee het volk van de VS en de rest van de wereld werd besodemieterd…….
Leugens die hebben geleid tot de moord door de VS op meer dan 1,5 miljoen mensen in Afghanistan en Irak…….. Did World Trade Center Building 7 Fall? New Study Claims Gov’t
Story Is False
A
two-year study has determined the collapse of World Trade Center 7 on
September 11, 2001 could not have been caused by office fires. This
undermines a critical component of the “official story,” but in
the age of President Trump will the painstaking investigation make a
difference?
(MPN) —
Last Wednesday, Dr. J. Leroy Hulsey of the University of
Alaska Fairbanks presented the findings and conclusion of his team’s
two-year engineering study evaluating whether fire caused the
collapse of World Trade Center 7 on September 11, 2001.
Many
“9/11 Truth” researchers focus on the mysterious collapse of
World Trade Center 7 (WTC7) as the smoking gun evidence that
Americans were lied to about the attacks. WTC7 was not hit by a
plane, yet it collapsed at 5:20 p.m. on Sept. 11, 2001. According to
the National Institute of Standards and Technology, the collapse was
caused by office fires leading to thermal expansion of the building’s
supportive columns and girders.
Dr.
Hulsey’s presentation, “A Structural Reevaluation of the Collapse
of World Trade Center 7, September 2017 Progress Report”, detailed
how his team eliminated fire as the cause of the collapse of the
47-story building. Hulsey explained that NIST’s report on the
collapse found fires on floors 7 through 9, 11 through 14, 19, 22,
29, and 30. However, there is no evidence of fire below floor 7,
Hulsey said.

“You
have to ask yourself lots of questions … Where is the
combustibility in this building? … Did WTC7 collapse because of
fires?” Hulsey asked during his presentation. “Our study shows
that it did not collapse because of fires.” This revelation matches
what Hulsey told MintPress News in September 2016, when his team’s
preliminary finding was “that fire did not produce the failure at
this particular building,” adding “additional calculations are
further substantiating the finding.”
Dr.
Hulsey and his team developed an AutoCAD drawing that they then used
to create a virtual geography of the building. The research team
first partnered with the non-profit Architects
and Engineers for 9/11 Truth in
May of 2015 to study of the collapse of WTC7. They did not release
their final report in April 2017 as originally planned, but Hulsey
said a draft report of the study will be released in October or
November 2017 and will be open for public comment for a six-week
period. “I am still examining the progressive collapse. We thought
we would be complete by the time announced but it is taking longer
than I expected,” Hulsey told MintPress. “I simply am not going
to release it until I am sure we are totally correct.”
A
final report will be published in early 2018 and submitted to
peer-reviewed journals. “It is my plan to provide the opportunity
for public and technical input, a form of review and peer review,”
Dr. Hulsey stated. “I will have it reviewed during this time frame.
Once we have gone through that preliminary review; I will submit the
findings to peer-reviewed journals for publication.”
The
Bobby McIlvaine Act
Today,
on the 16th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, Architects
& Engineers for 9/11 Truth,
the organization funding Hulsey’s study, held a press conference
discussing the conclusions of the study and the introduction of the
“Bobby McIlvaine World Trade Center Investigation Act.” The Bobby
McIlvaine Act is draft legislation that would impanel a select
committee in either chamber of Congress to reinvestigate the
destruction of the three World Trade Center towers on September 11,
2001. The act is named after Bobby
McIlvaine,
who was tragically killed at the age of 26 while entering the North
Tower of the World Trade Center.
Richard
Gage, the founder of Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth, spoke
today about the Bobby McIlvaine Act at the National Press Club in
Washington. “The Bobby McIlvaine Act will, for the first time, put
in Congress’ hands the resolution which will cause an investigation
of the three World Trade Center skyscrapers’ destruction,” Gage
told Mint Press. “We are putting Congress on notice and hopefully
this act will be successfully legislated into law.”
Following
the press conference, Mr. Gage and Bob McIlvaine, Bobby McIlvaine’s
father, began the process of distributing informational packets
related to the Bobby McIlvaine Act to every member of Congress. The
next stage in their campaign will involve attempting to organize a
bipartisan group of sponsors to introduce the resolution by September
11, 2018. Mr. McIlvaine has been independently investigating the 9/11
attacks since his son’s death and calling attention to what he says
are discrepancies in the government’s narrative of the events of
that day. McIlvaine has been an outspoken leader in the so-called
“9/11 Truth” movement, advocating for a new investigation since
the release of the 9/11 Commission Report in 2004.
The
9/11 Truth movement includes victims, their families, and experts in
a range of fields who are skeptical of the government’s official
line on 9/11. Some of the groups include Architects
& Engineers for 9/11 Truth, Firefighters
for 9/11 Truth & Unity, Pilots
for 9/11 Truth, 9/11
Families United for Justice Against Terrorism, Scholars
for 9/11 Truth & Justice,
and other local activist groups and individuals from around the
globe. It’s a loose-knit movement without an official position, and
the opinions, theories and ideas held among its members sometimes
conflict with one another. However, those working within the broader
movement are bound by the belief that the official narrative promoted
by the U.S. government is full of holes.
9/11
Truth in the Donald Trump era
The
election of Donald Trump brought fear and paranoia to some of the
American population, and hope and elation to another segment of the
nation. Elements of the 9/11 Truth movement believed Trump might
support their cause for a new investigation. Although Trump
never officially discussed his interest in a new investigation into
the events of September 11, 2001, he did make vague references to the
“secret papers” and to the Saudi government’s possible role in
funding the 9/11 attacks. During a campaign event Trump called
out former president George W. Bush for
the Iraq war and referenced “very secret” papers involving the
Saudi government and 9/11, elaborating:
“It
wasn’t the Iraqis that knocked down the World Trade Center; we went
after Iraq, we decimated the country. Iran’s taking over, okay. But
it wasn’t the Iraqis, you will find out who really knocked down the
World Trade Center, ‘cause they have papers in there that are very
secret, you may find it’s the Saudis, okay? But you will find out.”
The
“secret papers” Trump referred to are the now-declassified
28-pages of the “Joint Inquiry into Intelligence Community
Activities Before and After the Terrorist Attacks of September 11,
2001.” Although the
final report amounts
to over 800 pages, the 28 pages were classified by former President
George W. Bush shortly after the report was released in 2002. The
papers detail the story of Saudi nationals suspected of being Saudi
intelligence agents involved in the terror attacks. In July 2016,
after nearly 15 years of secrecy and resistance from the Bush and
Obama administrations, the report was released to the public and the
family members of the victims of the 9/11 terror attacks.
While
campaigning for the presidency, Trump also gave an interview on Fox
News’ “Fox
& Friends,”
stating that the release of the pages would be “very profound”
and relate to Saudi Arabia’s role in the 9/11 attacks.
“That’s
very serious stuff,” Trump said. “It’s sort of nice to know who
your friends are and perhaps who your enemies are. You’re going to
see some very revealing things released in those papers.”
Trump
also flirted with the 9/11 Truth movement when he criticized former
President Obama for his veto of the Justice Against Sponsors of
Terrorism Act, or JASTA, which unanimously passed the House and the
Senate in 2016 after a hard-fought battle by the families of the
victims of 9/11. The law, passed over Obama’s veto, has now opened
the door for lawsuits from the victims of 9/11 and their families
against Saudi Arabia to inspect the Kingdom’s possible role in
9/11. Trump called Obama’s veto “shameful” and “one of
the low points of his presidency.”
It
is these comments that caused some “9/11 truthers” — including
some family members of 9/11 victims — to believe a Donald Trump
presidency might lead to a new investigation into the terror attacks.
The 9/11 Families and Survivors United for Justice Against Terrorism
— the organization largely responsible for pushing JASTA — sent
a letter to President Trump asking
him to clarify his position on Saudi Arabia and its role in the
terror attacks of September 11, 2001. “This letter is inspired by
news reports that today you met with Saudi Deputy Crown Prince
Mohammed bin Salman al Saud,” reads the letter from Terry Strada, a
widow and the national chair for the 9/11 Families & Survivors.
Strada’s letter continues:
“As
you know, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a defendant in our lawsuit
because of the involvement of its agents in supporting the 9/11
hijackers, and for support that flowed to al-Qaeda through
institutions the Kingdom established and funded to spread a radical
form of Islam that lies at the root of both al-Qaeda and, more
recently, ISIS. Despite mounting evidence, the Saudis have refused to
accept accountability for their actions and the injury they have
caused across the globe.”
Since
becoming president, Donald Trump has shown little interest in
carrying his “you may find it’s the Saudis” campaign rhetoric
any further. Instead, he has signed an arms deals worth more than
$100 billion with the Saudi Kingdom and has continued to offer
support for their bombing campaign in Yemen. Trump has not taken any
steps towards calling for an investigation into the 9/11 attacks or
Saudi Arabia’s possible role. He has remained silent on the
controversial topic. The upcoming release of Dr. Hulsey’s study on
the collapse of World Trade Center 7 may force Trump to publicly
address the situation.
Terry
Strada, whose husband Tom Strada died in the twin towers, is
skeptical of the importance of Dr. Hulsey’s study. “It doesn’t
matter to me what happened to Building 7. I know what happened to the
Twin Towers and I know how my husband was murdered. I know who worked
with al-Qaeda. That’s all I care about,” Mrs. Strada explained to
MintPress News via phone. “It’s a very separate incident. I don’t
see how anything that happened to Building 7 has to do with the Twin
Towers.”
Despite
her skepticism towards the study, Strada is still calling on
President Trump to address the concerns of the 9/11 families:
“We
would like to see some action. We would like to sit down and meet
with him, have him hear our side. We know he hears it from the
Saudi’s all the time. We want our chance.”

Het aantal burgerslachtoffers zal intussen minstens op 25.000 burgerslachtoffers liggen…… Het aantal omgekomen soldaten (inclusief huurlingen!!) lag in januari 2015 op meer dan 13.000……..
Intussen duurt deze illegale oorlog al 16 jaar, ondanks dat feit, durft van Uhm te stellen dat deze oorlog zeer zinvol is……. Ach ja je bent een totaalidioot of niet……

Hammelburg moest nog even met artikel 5 van de NAVO op de proppen komen, u weet wel het 3 musketiers artikel. Alsof de Taliban de VS heeft aangevallen op 11 september 2001……. Van meet af aan was duidelijk, dat Al Qaida niet in Afghanistan zat**, dat was een smerige leugen om het land aan te kunnen vallen. Afghanistan was dan ook het eerste van een rij landen, waar de VS het voor het zeggen wilde hebben, dan wel een marionet van de VS als machthebber wilde hebben…….
Van Uhm stelde dat we in Afghanistan voor de internationale rechtsorde zijn….. ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Oh, dus de internationale rechtsorde verlangt een illegale oorlog en een enorm aantal burgerslachtoffers……
Voorts stelde van Uhm, dat we ook aan de gevolgen van het Taliban bewind moeten denken, de mensen ontvluchten het geweld…… ha! ha! ha! ha! Geweld of zeg maar gerust terreur van de VS coalitie zal van Uhm bedoelen, terreur waar ook Nederland zich aan heeft bezondigd!!!
Mensen ik lul niet, van Uhm durfde de situatie in Afghanistan te vergelijken met de nazi-Duitse bezetting van Nederland ten tijde van WOII…….. ha! ha! ha! ha! Alsof de westerse troepen in Afghanistan zaten en werden overvallen door de Taliban!! Hoewel, aan de andere kant heeft hij gelijk, maar niet op de door van Uhm bedoelde manier. Immers de westerse troepen zijn te vergelijken met het nazi-Duitse bezettingsleger!! Op die belachelijke opmerking van van Uhm merkte Hammelburg op: “U heeft absoluut een moreel punt…….” ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! De ‘moraliteit’ van een massamoordenaar, wel te verstaan!!
Volgens van Uhm was 911 een bedreiging voor de wereldorde……. ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Wat een gelul, bovendien is intussen meer dan duidelijk, dat 911 o.a. werd opgezet door de CIA. De VS is een bedreiging voor de wereldorde, dat heeft dit land uit en te na bewezen sinds 1945!! Van 1945 (na WOII) tot het jaar 2000 heeft de VS meer dan 20 miljoen mensen vermoord in illegale oorlogen en door de VS opgezette coups…….
Bij een dergelijk groot voorval als de 911 aanslagen, is de eerste vraag die je moet stellen: wie profiteert het meest van deze aanslagen…….. U snapt het al: dat is het militair-industrieel complex en haar marionetten Bush regering*** (een regering die in record tijd, al voor 911, haar populariteit onder het volk verloor..)….. Bovendien kwamen de kapers voor het grootste deel uit Saoedi-Arabië, waarom werd dat land dan niet aangevallen, terwijl ook toen allang duidelijk was, dat S-A terreurgroepen als Al Qaida steunde…….
Uiteraard stelde grootlobbyist voor het militair-industrieel complex van Uhm nog eens, dat er veel meer geld naar defensie moet, zodat we kunnen blijven meedoen aan de grootschalige terreur die de VS in het Midden-Oosten uitoefent……

certainly gives the impression that they’re expecting to go beyond
that.
The
US currently has around 8,400 troops in Afghanistan. Military
leadership appears to uniformly advocate escalations, attempting to
slow the rate of territory loss sustained by the Afghan government,
and to try to reverse the overall trend of the 16-year conflict.

No
matter where you are in the world, you are likely to stumble upon the
US border-without-borders.
While
it might be tempting to blame US President Donald
Trump and
his special brand of counter-reality for
the frenzied expansion of the US border into international spaces,
the concept of the border itself evolved some time ago into something
encompassing much more than physical territorial limits
Just
ask the victims of the post-9/11 “war on terror”, which has
eliminated countless human lives for the ostensible purpose of
securing the US homeland.
While
the US has over the decades repeatedly been up in arms over perceived
enemy intrusions into its own ‘backyard’ – see, for example, the
Soviets in Cuba or the more recent ruckus over Iran’s supposed
infiltration of Latin America – the country persists in trampling
over other backyards at will.
Beyond
the matter of forcing international airlines to get on board with
every US whim in terms of security
measuresand
other life-complicating activities, there’s nothing like ubiquitous
military bases to reinforce the notion that the world in fact belongs
to America.
In
his 2015 book Base Nation: How US Military Bases Abroad Harm America
and the World, American University’s David Vine reported that, as of
that year, the US “controlled approximately 800 bases”
outside the country.
This
had resulted in a situation in which, he said, “we probably have
more bases in other people’s lands than any other people, nation, or
empire in world history”.
Vine
went on aptly to note that, for most Americans, “the idea of
even the nicest, most benign foreign troops arriving with their
tanks, planes, and high-powered weaponry and making themselves at
home in our country – occupying and fencing off hundreds or thousands
of acres of our land – is unthinkable”.
Thanks
to imperialism’s gloriously hypocritical logic, of course, America’s
disproportionate global footprint hasn’t stopped the US political
establishment from regularly accusing selected nemeses of meddling in
the internal affairs of other nations.

U.S. bombing campaign in Iraq and Syria is now the heaviest since the
bombing of Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos in the 1960s-70s, with 84,000
bombs and missiles dropped between 2014 and the end of May 2017. That
is nearly triple the 29,200 bombs and missiles dropped on Iraq in the
“Shock and Awe” campaign of 2003.
The
Obama administration escalated the bombing campaign last October, as
the U.S.-Iraqi assault on Mosul began, dropping 12,290 bombs and
missiles between October and the end of January when President Obama
left office. The Trump administration has further escalated the
campaign, dropping another 14,965 bombs and missiles since February
1st. May saw the heaviest bombing yet, with 4,374 bombs and
missiles dropped.
The U.K.-based Airwars.org monitoring group
has compiled reports of between 12,000 and 18,000 civilians killed by
nearly three years of U.S.-led bombing in Iraq and Syria. These
reports can only be the tip of the iceberg, and the true number of
civilians killed could well be more than 100,000, based on typical
ratios between reported deaths and actual deaths in previous
war-zones.
As
the U.S. and its allies closed in on Mosul in Iraq and Raqqa in
Syria, and as U.S. forces now occupy eight military bases in Syria,
Islamic State and its allies have struck back in Manchester and
London; occupied Marawi, a city of 200,000 in the Philippines; and
exploded a huge truck bomb inside the fortifications of the “Green
Zone” in Kabul, Afghanistan.
What
began in 2001 as a misdirected use of military force to punish a
group of formerly U.S.-backed jihadis in Afghanistan for the crimes
of September 11th has escalated into a global asymmetric war.
Every country destroyed or destabilized by U.S. military action is
now a breeding ground for terrorism. It would be foolish to
believe that this cannot get much, much worse, as long as both sides
continue to justify their own escalations of violence as responses to
the violence of their enemies, instead of trying to deescalate the
now global violence and chaos.
The backdrops to the Putin/Trump meeting are the aspirations of Israel and the neoconservatives. It is these aspirations that drive US foreign policy.
What is Syria about? Why is Washington so focused on overthrowing the elected president of Syria? What explains the sudden 21st century appearance of “the Muslim threat”? How is Washington’s preoccupation with “the Muslim threat” consistent with Washington’s wars against Saddam Hussein, Gaddafi, and Assad, leaders who suppressed jihadism? What explains the sudden appearance of “the Russian threat” which has been hyped into dangerous Russophobia without any basis in fact?
Saddam Hussein was a secular leader whose job was to sit on the animosities of the Sunni and Shia and maintain a non-violent political stability in Iraq. He, Assad, and Gaddafi suppressed the extremism that leads to jihadism.
Saddam had nothing whatsoever to do with 9/11, and under his rule Iraq constituted a ZERO threat to the US. He had been a faithful vassal and attacked Iran for Washington, which had hopes of using Iraq to overthrow the Iranian government.
Removing secular leaders is what unleashes jihadism. Washington unleashed Muslim terrorism by regime change that murdered secular leaders and left countries in chaos.
Fomenting chaos in Iraq was the beginning for spreading chaos into Syria and then Iran. Syria and Iran support Hezbollah, the militia in southern Lebanon that has twice driven out the Israeli Army sent in to occupy southern Lebanon so that Israel could appropriate the water resources.

Volgens Reuters heeft de VS afgelopen zondag een luchtaanval uitgevoerd op al-Shabaab in Somalië. Regeringswoordvoerders van de VS gingen niet specifiek in op wat voor soort aanval het ging, een aanval met drones, of een ‘normaal luchtbombardement’.
Zoals gewoonlijk berichtten de reguliere media over deze zaak*, zonder ook maar te hebben gevraagd naar het waarom en hoe (zoals gezegd). (en vaak zonder te vragen naar het aantal onverdachte slachtoffers, onverdacht daar de VS zich het recht voorbehoudt mensen die zij verdenken, met drones standrechtelijk, dus zonder enige rechtspraak, te vermoorden)
Vreemd genoeg is de invloed van al-Shabaab in Somalië bijna tot nul gereduceerd, ook heeft deze islamitische terreurgroep nooit enig westers doel aangevallen…….
Reuters sprak over al-Shabaab als zijnde gelinkt aan Al Qaida. Als zodanig zou al-Shabaab een doelwit zijn van de VS, dit vanwege de aanslagen van 911 in 2001. Echter in 2001 bestond al-Shabaab niet eens!!
Vreemd genoeg, volgens een artikel van Shahtahmasebi op Anti-Media, zijn alle terreurgroepen in Syrië geen doel van de VS, hoewel ze allen zijn gelinkt aan Al Qaida, behalve één dan: IS………
De VS verdedigt haar terroristische aanslagen (middels drones, luchtbombardementen en/of terreur via troepen op de grond) altijd met het argument, dat men deze uitvoert vanwege zelfverdediging, echter de VS troepen lopen alleen gevaar als ze weer eens illegaal een land binnenvallen (= extreme terreur!), waar ze niets te zoeken hebben, dan wel militair foute regimes steunen.
Saoedi-Arabië heeft de corrupte Somalische regering omgekocht en voor 50 miljoen dollar heeft deze regering de banden met Iran verbroken en assisteert S-A bij haar genocide op de sjiitische bevolking in Jemen……. Ook de VS biedt S-A hulp bij deze genocide, met drone aanvallen (die het ook al vanaf Obama op Somalië uitvoert), raketbeschietingen, bombardementen en geheime militaire acties op de grond…….
Shahtahmasebi maakt één kapitale fout in zijn artikel, volgens hem is Somalië een tussenstation voor wapenleveranties uit Iran voor de (sjiitische) Houthi rebellen. Ten eerste is dat in tegenspraak met zijn eerder genoemde deal tussen S-A en de Somalische regering en ten tweede zijn er nooit bewijzen geleverd voor deze wapenleveranties, al houden de westerse afhankelijke massamedia en het merendeel van de westerse politici vol dat dit wel zo is………
Somalië is strategisch uiterst belangrijk gelegen, één van de hoofdoorzaken voor het geweld van de VS en haar terreurpartner S-A…… Hetzelfde geldt overigens voor Jemen.

You Aren’t Being Told About The US’ War in Somalia
(ANTIMEDIA)—On
Sunday, the U.S. military carried out an airstrike in Somalia against al-Qaeda-linked terror group al-Shabaab, U.S. officials said on
Monday, as reportedby Reuters.
Officials
did not specify whether it was a drone strike, and the Pentagon has
not disclosed any additional information about the strike. The U.S.
has been drone-strikingSomalia
for some time now, a policy Barack Obama escalated.
As
is usually the case, the media reportsthese
developments without questioning the underlying narrative, and
millions of ordinary Americans go about their day without so much as
batting an eyelid. Just another day in Africa, right?
However,
even Reuters acknowledged
that al-Shabaab has been pushed out of Mogadishu, Somalia’s capital
city, and has lost control of most of the country’s cities and
towns. Further, according to
the Guardian, al-Shabaab
has never been implicated in any plots to strike the U.S. or Europe.
So
why is this group a concern for the United States? Is it simply
because they are aligned with al-Qaeda?
Consider
this passage from
the Intercept’s Glenn
Greenwald from March of last year:
“Since
2001, the U.S. government has legally justified
its we-bomb-wherever-we-wantapproach
by pointing to the 2001 Authorization for Use of Military Force
(AUMF), enacted by Congress in the wake of 9/11 to authorize the
targeting of al Qaeda and ‘affiliated’ forces. But al Shabaab did
not exist in 2001 and had nothing to do with 9/11. Indeed, the group
has not tried to attack the U.S. but instead, as the New
York Times’ Charlie
Savage notedin
2011, ‘is focused on a parochial insurgency in Somalia.’ As a
result, reported Savage, even ‘the [Obama] administration does not
consider the United States to be at war with every member of the
Shabaab.’”
While
we are on the topic, try conducting a Google search on any
of the rebel groups currently
being supported – and not targeted – by the United States and its
allies in Syria. Try to find one that isn’t aligned with al-Qaeda.
It’s almost impossible.
The only major group in Syria that is currently not backed by
al-Qaeda in some way, shape, or form is ISIS.
Somalia
was one of the seven countries four-star General Wesley
Clark identified years
ago as a target of American military intervention following the
September 11 attacks in 2001. It is also one of the countries that
made it onto Trump’s infamously revised
travel ban,
which is now being enforced courtesy of the U.S. Supreme Court.
Although
under Barack Obama the U.S. was waging
a covert war in
Somalia rife with drone strikes and Special Forces on the ground,
Donald Trump has ramped
up this operation alongside
a number of other conflicts, particularly in Iraq and Syria. Trump
has also approved the deployment of regular U.S. troops to Somalia
for the first time since 1994. One of these troops has already
been killed in
a clash with the terror group.
To
put it simply, these American troops are not just advising and
training local troops, they are also directly
involved in
combat missions. As these clashes intensify, expect more American
deaths to come, and expect further deployments.
Such
deployments will also likely lead increased air strikes because the
U.S. argues that such strikes are
needed
to defend their troops from Islamic militants. However, even the New
York Times, an
establishment media outlet, can see right
through this
circular reasoning:
“In
its public announcements, the Pentagon sometimes characterizes the
operations as ‘self-defense strikes,’ though some analysts have
said this rationale has become a self-fulfilling prophecy. It
is only because American forces are now being deployed on the front
lines in Somalia that they face imminent threats from the
Shabab.” [emphasis
added]
To
recap, the United States essentially identified a group that poses no
threat to the United States or Europe and targeted it with drone
strikes over the course of Obama’s presidency. As we have seen
across the globe, drone strikes actually help turn small insurgent
groups into a very formidable forces due
to the instability these strikes create and the innocent lives they
take. In some instances, drone strikes targeting and eradicating a
group’s leaders can actually cause a more violent
person to
rise up and take control.
Did
America’s representatives of so-called democracy ever debate this
war in Somalia? What do ordinary Americans even know about Somalia or
al-Shabaab? Most Americans probably aren’t even aware that although
there is a central government of sorts, the country has been widely
regarded as a lawless, failed
state.
Can the average American point to Somalia on a map?
Indeed,
locating Somalia on a world map would aid the reader in understanding
the geostrategic importance of such a country. As Geopolitical
Futures has explained:
“Somalia’s
northern coast borders the Gulf of Aden, which leads to Bab
el-Mandeb, a narrow chokepoint through which all maritime traffic
from the Mediterranean Sea to the Indian Ocean must pass. Avoiding
this strait would take all goods from the Persian Gulf – including
oil – around the entire African continent to reach European and
American markets. It is also a valuable staging ground for navies to
project power on to the Arabian Peninsula.”
Somalia
is so important that Saudi Arabia offered $50
million to its government to break ties with Iran. Not surprisingly,
Somalia is now one of the countries assisting Saudi
Arabia in its invasion of Yemen, the poorest country in the Arab
world.
That
being said, Somalia is allegedly a transit point in a
supposed weapons route from
Iran to Yemen that supplies the Yemeni opposition with weaponry to
combat Saudi-led forces in the war-torn country. If the U.S.-backed
Saudi-led coalition is unsuccessful in crushing the Yemeni
resistance, and if a government is established in Yemen that aligns
itself with Tehran, the U.S. could slowly begin to lose strategic
maritime position and influence in this vital region.
In
this context, Somalia’s proximity to Yemen means the North African
nation is one of those strategic maritime areas the U.S. cannot
afford to lose.
Somalia’s
recently elected president, who was chosen in an election paid for
by the U.S. and the E.U., is supportive of
American military assistance even though his people are, in most
cases, banned from visiting the United States.
Further,
as Truthout observes,
Somalia is just one of many African locations in which the U.S.
military has asserted itself:
“The
US Africa Command oversees a vast array of ‘outposts’ —
categorized in Pentagon-speak as ‘consisting of two forward
operating sites [including the one official base in Djibouti], 13
cooperative security locations, and 31 contingency locations.’
Secret documents in 2015 listed thirty-six outposts ‘scattered
across 24 African countries. These include low-profile
locations — from Kenya to South Sudan to a shadowy Libyan airfield
— that have never previously been mentioned in published reports.
Today, according to an AFRICOM spokesperson, the number of
these sites has actually swelled to 46, including ’15 enduring
locations.’’”
The
problem with this region, from the perspective of America’s
warmongering class, is the underlying power struggle between the
United States and China. China is investing heavily in Africa and has
also signaled its intention to build
military bases in
Africa’s strategic areas. In turn, the U.S. needs to assert itself
as much as possible to counter the rise of the Chinese presence in
Africa. China has invested over
$200 billion in Africa to date, and Somalia regards China
as a “vital ally.”
In
another example, China is already using large investments
to squeeze the
U.S. out of Pakistan, a former U.S. client state. While there is much
to be made of China’s intentions and its actions, there is a
noticeable difference in that currently, China opts for alternative
ways of spreading its influence — as opposed to relentlessly
bombing nations into submission.
To
some countries, China might be a breath of fresh air in comparison to
its American counterpart.
