Een paar honderd medewerkers van Amazon hebben in januari hun werkgever Jeff Bezos aan de paal genageld vanwege het niet progressief handelen van Amazon op klimaatdoelen en dat Amazon zou achterlopen op andere bedrijven, waarbij het bedrijf door steun aan de fossiele industrie zelfs veranderingen vertraagde en vertraagt….
Bezos reageerde destijds niet op de verwijten van zijn personeel, maar zou volgens berichtgeving het ‘Bezos Earth Fund’ (BEF) hebben opgericht, waarmee hij middels een bedrag van 10 miljard dollar (wat wij onder een miljard verstaan), samenwerking van wetenschappers op gebied van milieu en klimaat wil stimuleren. Daarbij steekt hij tevens geld in projecten van ngo’s, ook zou hij geld willen geven aan activisten en aan projecten die natuurbehoud en -bescherming nastreven.
Heel mooi allemaal, lullig dan dat hij op andere gebieden, zoals de arbeidsvoorwaarden voor zijn eigen personeel en personeel dat in het buitenland zijn producten in elkaar schroeft/soldeert, zelfs mensenrechten op grote schaal schendt…… Ben dan ook benieuwd hoe hij e.e.a. kan rijmen met het uitbuiten van mensen, het vernielen van natuur en milieu in landen waar zijn producten worden gemaakt……..
Dit nog buiten het gegeven dat zijn bedrijf een ongelofelijke luchtvervuiler en daarmee aanjager van de klimaatverandering is, dit vanwege de naar schatting miljard kilometer die jaarlijks wordt afgelegd om producten van Amazon zo snel mogelijk bij de consument te brengen….
Weet niet hoe de boel in de VS belastingtechnisch precies in elkaar zit, maar het moet al heel gek lopen als het ‘Bezos Earth Fund’ niet zorgt voor een fikse belastingaftrek voor de op één na rijkste man ter wereld…… Daarover gesproken, de subsidies die Bezos van plan is uit te delen zijn dat op zeker wel!!
Kortom Bezos is bezig met een wel heel smerige vorm van greenwashing…….
Het volgende bericht ligt al veel te lang op de stapen concepten:
Kreeg begin december vorig jaar een mail van Green America waarin een aantal artikelen, één ervan
met de kop: ’10 Ways Amazon Violates Human Rights…..’ Je wordt
er werkelijk schijtziek van als je ziet hoe zo’n schathemelrijk
bedrijf mensen behandelt en dat met aan de top grofgraaier Jeff Bezos,
als ik me niet vergis, de rijkste man op aarde…. Hoe durft deze schoft z’n personeel zo te behandelen en tegelijk zwaar onder te betalen??
Amzon maakt zoals veel grote bedrijven nog steeds gebruik van kinderarbeid, vooral bij de productie van ‘Alexa’ worden kinderen ingezet, die daarbij ook nog eens regelmatig moeten overwerken…… (voorts wordt Alexa gebruikt om gesprekken van de gebruikers af te luisteren; zo meer over privacyschendingen door Amazon….) Veel kleding die wordt verkocht op Amazon wordt gefabriceerd in de gevaarlijkste (en goedkoopste) textielfabrieken in ontwikkelingslanden, je weet we, van die fabrieken waar de deuren van buitenaf worden gesloten als de slavenarbeiders binnen zijn……
Voorts verzet Amazon zich tegen vakbonden en heeft zelfs anti-vakbondsvideo’s voor haar personeel…… Als men aan de top van Amazon doorheeft dat een werknemer bezig is om mensen te organiseren tegen wantoestanden wordt deze simpelweg ontslagen…… Over wantoestanden gesproken: het aantal ongevallen in verzendcentra van Amazon is meer dan het dubbele van het gemiddelde in andere verzendcentra, het directe gevolg van de waanzinnige prestatiedruk, ofwel de werknemers worden geprest het werk zo snel mogelijk te doen en het maakt de top niet uit hoe dat wordt gedaan (bijvoorbeeld door het niet volgen van veiligheidsprotocollen), als het maar gebeurt……
Amazon heeft verder lak aan de privacy van haar klanten en werkt graag mee met politie, zelfs als het heeft beloofd dat de gegevens niet door anderen mogen worden ingezien, inclusief de politie…… (zie de links aan het eind van dit bericht)
Mensen
lees het volgende artikel alsjeblieft en geeft het door!! Binnenkort komt Amazon ook op
de Nederlandse markt. Laat zien dat wij zo’n smerige patser met z’n
slavenwinkel niet wensen in ons land, boycot de inhumane neoliberale slavendrijver Bezos en bestel niet bij Amazon!

Ways Amazon Violates Human Rights

All year we have been sharing
various ways that Amazon is bad for workers, our planet, and
consumer, and on International Human Rights day, we wanted to use
this occasion to highlight some of the worst human rights abuses that
Amazon has either directly or indirectly contributed to.
Profits
off of child labor.
Hundreds of children
have been reported making Amazon’s Alexa, in an effort to meet
high production demands. Some of the children were required to work
overnight and overtime.
Amazon
sells clothing from a factory blacklisted for its poor safety
conditions. The Wall
Street Journal recently
found that sellers on Amazon have been listing clothing from a
factory so dangerous that most other major retailers will not buy
from it. This factory has no fire alarms and doors that lock
from the outside to keep workers trapped inside.
Facilitates
the human rights crisis on the US-Mexico border.
The Guardian
reported that Amazon Web Services hosts the Department of
Homeland Security’s databases which allows “the department and
its agencies to track and apprehend immigrants.” Amazon
also works with Palantir, which has over $150 million in
contracts with ICE.
Fights
unions, resisting workers’ right to freedom of association. Amazon
is known for pushing back against unionization. Amazon
reportedly has Whole Foods managers watch anti-union training videos
and has fired numerous workers who were organizing their coworkers
during the time of firing.
Amazon’s
Ring allows police to access your video footage. Forbes
reports that you can opt out of allowing police access to your
data, but “they can request the footage directly from Amazon if it
has been uploaded to the cloud and the request is sent within 60
days of recording – even if you deny police access to that footage.”
Though a similar
video doorbell service, Nest, has stated that it would not share
footage directly with police, experts do have privacy concerns about
both services.
Amazon
is listening to your private conversations.
Amazon hires thousands of people to listen to your
conversations. Bloomberg
reported individuals that are hired to review recordings
from Alexa noted that sometimes they review “everything the
speaker (Alexa) picks up, including background conversations—even
when children are speaking. Sometimes listeners hear users
discussing private details such as names or bank details…”
Amazon
risks the health of workers in US. Recently
released injury records found that injury rates within Amazon
warehouses are more than DOUBLE the industry average; this is
attributed in part to high production quotas.
Amazon

While Amazon does have a
Restricted Substances List (RSL) to protect consumers for some
products, it does not apply to electronics or apparel. Amazon
does not share which harmful chemicals are and are not
allowed in their electronics or apparel supply chain; this means
workers and consumers could be exposed to harmful chemicals with
potentially lasting negative health consequences. Amazon does not
have an MRSL for any products and is therefore failing to
protect workers. An RSL is a list of chemicals that are restricted
or banned from the final consumer product, and an MRSL is a list of
chemicals that are restricted or banned from the manufacturing
process.
Amazon
sells unsafe products to children.
The Wall
Street Journal found: “More than 4,000 items for sale on
Amazon have been declared unsafe by federal agencies, including
2,000 listings for children’s toys and medications.”
Labor abuses on farms
supplying to Whole Foods. A
recent report from Oxfam found workers with 14-hour days with
limited rest breaks and limited access to restrooms. The report also
found that workers “reported developing allergies and serious skin
diseases as a result of working with pesticides and other chemicals
without adequate protection” on farms supplying to Whole Foods.

Action, een petitie voor de VS gericht tegen Amazon dat volkomen schijt heeft aan
de privacy van haar klanten. Zo is bekend dat Amazon gesprekken kan opnemen
en daadwerkelijk opneemt, video’s van burgers opslaat en zich bemoeit met de
verkiezingen (ja, dat is nog eens wat anders dan het lullige sprookje
‘Russiagate….’)
Voor nog meer winst steelt Amazon de
meest intieme momenten en gevoelige persoonlijke informatie (over
identiteit, enz.) van haar klanten…….
De servers van Amazon maken het leven
allesbehalve veiliger, de top gaf onlangs zelf toe dat er geen
veiligheidsprotocollen worden gevolgd om gegevens
af te schermen van ‘kwaadwillenden’ (en ja wie zijn hier de
echte kwaadwillenden??)….. Voorts werkt Amazon samen met de politie, zo kan Amazon meekijken via bijvoorbeeld camera’s in de huisbel (waarmee je kan zien
wie er voor de deur staat), echter als er niemand staat is het een extra camera waarmee de politie jouw straat kan bekijken, Amazon levert daarbij nog genoeg andere
apparatuur die gekoppeld zijn aan het internet….
Nog een paar aanslagen en de geheime diensten zullen eisen dat ze via deze aan het internet gekoppelde apparatuur mee mogen kijken en luisteren naar wat er in huis gebeurt en wordt gezegd….. Bij een rechtse staatsgreep zal wat politie en geheime diensten nu kunnen, nog verbleken bij wat George Orwell schreef in zijn boek 1984……

Surveillance is at the heart of
Amazon’s monopolistic business model. They
record our conversations, capture video footage of our lives, creep
into our elections, track our faces, and partner with police to build
a nationwide surveillance network. Amazon
exploits our intimate moments and sensitive personal information for
its massive profits.1,2,3
Amazon devices don’t make us
safer. Their executives
recently admitted there are no safeguards in place to protect our
data, privacy, or our civil liberties in their Ring doorbell cameras
and surveillance police partnerships.4
In response to Amazon’s blatant
disregard for our basic rights and security, a group of Senators sent
letters demanding answers. But now that lawmakers in DC are asking
questions, Amazon will
dispatch its army of lobbyists and call in favors with the
politicians they paid to elect.
There’s almost nothing they won’t do to avoid scrutiny and
accountability, but we can stop them.
Amazon is working to expand its
huge surveillance network, and they will take advantage of the
holiday season to sell more devices that listen to us and watch us. That’s why we need
lawmakers to intervene now.
A Congressional hearing is the only way to expose Amazon’s invasive
data harvesting practices and lay the foundation for laws that
will rein in its for-profit surveillance practices.

aarde (geschat vermogen 112 miljard dollar), je zou denken dat zo’n figuur wel goed zal zorgen voor zijn

alleen het gebruik van de zweep nog ontbreekt…..
Naast het voorgaande verdienen de gewone
werknemers van Amazon bijzonder weinig, zeker als je ziet onder welke
enorme druk ze staan, zo moeten werknemers in de magazijnen elke 11
seconden een artikel scannen om hun doelen te kunnen halen, ongeacht de zwaarte van dat
artikel, je begrijpt waarschijnlijk wel dat het onmogelijk is om dit vol te houden……
Als de werknemers niet voldoen aan de eisen worden ze ontslagen en zelfs als ze doelen wel halen, maar daardoor een ongeluk krijgen op de werkvloer, krijgen ze alsnog ontslag……
Niet
vreemd dus dat werknemers zelfs zwaar gewond raken en daaronder
versta ik als rugpatiënt ook zware rugklachten (voor de rest van het leven). Volgens het Care2
team dat een petitie heeft opgezet om de ijskoude neoliberale hufter
tot inkeer te bewegen, is een onervaren heftruckchauffeur onder een heftruck terecht gekomen en werd daarbij doodgedrukt….. Pas na 2 uur werd de chauffeur nog levend gevonden door collega’s, maar de redding van deze werknemer was te laat…….
Wel moet ik
zeggen dat zonder ongelukken op de werkvloer, waarbij iemand
bijvoorbeeld onder een pallet met artikelen terechtkomt, het zeer
moeilijk zal zijn te bewijzen dat werknemers zijn omgekomen dan wel gewond zijn geraakt door de
werkdruk….. Waar dan wel bij aangetekend moet worden dat oververmoeide werknemers
makkelijk fatale fouten kunnen maken….. (maar ja bewijs maar eens
dat een overlijden of een blijvende invaliditeit te danken is aan oververmoeidheid en de onmenselijke werkdruk….)
Bezos
weet dondersgoed dat zijn werknemers grote gevaren lopen door de
werkdruk, hij heeft lak aan de gewone werknemers dat heeft dit onmens ‘iets
te vaak’ bewezen……
Lees en
teken de petitie ajb en geeft het door! Zelf heb ik me voorgenomen
nooit iets te bestellen bij Amazon, althans zolang de werknemers daar
als goedkoop vervangbaar artikel, ofwel als slaaf behandeld worden.
Amazon
Employees are Literally Dying, But the Company Just Made an
Announcement That Will Make Conditions Even Worse!
The
holiday season is a time when people are encouraged to focus on
gratitude, loved ones, and rest. But for Amazon warehouse employees,
the holiday, or “peak,” season, looks a little bit
different. They will experience nothing but dehumanizing, injurious,
and sometimes fatal working conditions.
Sign
the petition now and ask that Jeff Bezos have mercy on Amazon
employees.
This
holiday season, Amazon has announced one-day
shipping,
boasting it as evidence of how much they care about their
customers. But
what about their employees that are maimed and killed?
During
peak season, seasonal workers are added to the warehouses – this
means the spaces are filled with under-trained and inexperienced
employees. That will only compound Amazon’s already despicable
track record of employee injury and abuse.
Amazon
is known for its convenience and speed, but according to a report by
Reveal from the Center for Investigative Reporting (CIR), those perks come
at the cost
of life and limb.
This report found that Amazon’s
warehouses average over twice the amount of serious injuries compared
to the entire warehouse industry.
Many
of these injuries occur because of Amazon’s ridiculous productivity
demands – workers
must scan one item, no matter how big or heavy, every 11 secondsin
order to meet their quota. They cannot concentrate on proper training
because if their productivity wanes, they are fired. Ironically, once
they are injured due to speeding through items, they are often left
permanently debilitated and therefore fired anyway.
Other
injuries occur due to a lack of training. In one such case, a
warehouse maintenance employee named Terry was tragically crushed
to death when
a forklift fell on top of him.
There is no record of Terry ever receiving proper training before he
was sent to work on the forklift. He
lay crushed and dying for two hours before someone discovered his
body by following the pool of blood.Amazon
later shifted the blame of Terry’s death onto Terry himself.
No
matter the cause of suffering in their warehouses, Amazon does not
seem to care. When
a gas leak in Amazon’s Eastvale, California warehouse choked
employees and burned their eyes, managers would not let them stop
working.They
needed to keep productivity high, and told employees it would be
considered personal time off if they left. Eventually,
employees had to call 911 in secret in order to get help.
This
is unsustainable. Amazon needs to treat its employees like human
beings – this means hiring more employees to cover the work
and investing time and money in training so that safety is a
priority and injury rates plummet. Jeff Bezos is currently worth 112
billion dollars – he can afford it.
No
gift is worth giving this holiday season if the cost is a human
life. Demand that Jeff Bezos and Amazon restructure their hiring and
training process for the safety of their employees!

Twee jaar geleden kreeg Google 718 miljoen dollar van farmareus GlaxoSmtihKline (GSK), een bedrag waar zelfs als het om Google gaat, wel het e.e.a. tegenover moet staan en beste bezoeker, ‘er staat wat tegenover……’
Google levert GSK klantgegevens en dan met name klanten die op het internet naar symptomen van een eventuele aandoening zoeken, of mensen die een bepaald geneesmiddel zoeken…. Niet alleen dat, een jaar na de gift van GSK die eind 2017, begin 2018 werd overgemaakt naar Google, heeft dit internetbedrijf de aanval geopend op de alternatieve media die artikelen over volksgezondheid brengen…….
GSK zou volgens Google ‘uiterst deskundig zijn op het gebied van volksgezondheid’ (dat is dit bedrijf absoluut niet!), waar Google echte deskundigen buitenspel heeft gezet, door de alternatieve media waarmee deze deskundigen het publiek voorlichten te blokkeren, of moeilijk toegankelijk te maken…… Hetzelfde gebeurt op YouTube dat van Google is…..

immunity for its actions.

Green
America gaat de strijd aan met internetbedrijf Amazon, waarvan deze
milieuactiegroep zegt dat het bedrijf steenrijk is, maar desondanks
schijt heeft aan de opwarming van de aarde, waar een zo’n rijk
bedrijf het voortouw zou moeten nemen met een ‘duurzame
winkelnering’. Nee, de servers van Amazon zijn grote vervuilers, waar
elders bedrijven proberen hun servers zo groen mogelijk te maken,
doet Amazon niet eens moeite om zich een vals-groen imago aan te
meten, zoals bedrijven als Shell en Unilever dat wel doen.
Amazon
Web Services (AWS) gebuikt een hoeveelheid stroom, die 520.000
huishoudens jaarlijks verbruiken, de helft daarvan wordt nog steeds met fossiele
brandstoffen opgewekt…. Veel (ook qua grootte) met Amazon
vergelijkbare bedrijven gebruiken voor hun servers al 100% duurzame
energie.
Dat was
het nog niet beste bezoeker, waarschijnlijk heb je al eens gehoord op
wat een vuile, inhumane manier Amazon omgaat met haar personeel, dat geldt
nog meer voor de arbeiders van toeleverende bedrijven van Amazon in
China. Niet zelden maken arbeiders daar maandelijks 100 uur overwerk,
zoals je begrijpt uitermate ongezond en bovendien het recept voor
ongelukken (door oververmoeidheid….)…..
Ik moet
wel zeggen dat Green America wat meer tijd had mogen steken in haar
berichtgeving, daar men stelt dat Amazon servers voor 50% op duurzame
energie draaien en later zegt dat Amazon weigert opening van zaken
te geven over haar energieverbruik en het effect daarvan op het
Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP)….
Overigens
helpt Amazon met haar netwerk de olie- en gasindustrie, zodat deze
vernietigende maffia haar werk zo efficiënt mogelijk kan uitvoeren,
ofwel: Amazon helpt ook op die manier mee aan het opjagen van de
klimaatverandering……
Jammer
dat Green America niet wijst op het enorme aantal bezorgingen met
vrachtwagens en busjes die voor Amazon de gekochte producten afleveren op de plaats van bestemming, reken maar dat dit ook een grote
impact heeft op de luchtkwaliteit en het aanjagen van de
klimaatverandering….. Als ik zie hoe vaak busjes bij mij door de
buurt scheuren om internetaankopen af te leveren, zakt de moed je in
de schoenen…….
Het zou dan ook beter zijn als er op vaste dagen in de week wordt bezorgd, zodat meerdere pakketjes in dezelfde straat kunnen worden bezorgd, wat maakt het tenslotte uit als je bestelde product 1, 2 of 3 dagen later wordt bezorgd??
Mensen lees en teken de petitie ajb en geeft het door, het totale energieverbruik van servers wereldwijd is gigantisch en zou al te vergelijken zijn met het totale jaarlijkse verbruik van elektriciteit door een middelgroot land, dit moet zo snel mogelijk veranderen!

2018, Amazon reported $11 billion in profits, but paid NO taxes.
With
all of that wealth, you would think that Bezos and Amazon would be
leaders in reducing climate emissions, but that’s not the case.
Amazon’s biggest climate impacts come from powering its massive
servers that make Amazon Web Services (AWS) the largest web hosting
company in the world. AWS uses as much power as 520,000 homes,
the equivalent of the entire city of San Francisco, and much of that
power is still coming from fossil fuels.

After
years of pressure from consumers and investors, Amazon has made
progress on energy but is still only using 50% renewable energy to
power its servers. By contrast, many major tech companies, including
Apple and Google, are using 100% renewable power.
Not
surprisingly, a company that treats the Earth poorly is also a
laggard in how it treats workers. Amazon employees working in
warehouses report grueling conditions, where they are required to
meet unreasonable quotas and have to skimp on taking bathroom breaks
just to keep up.
The
workers oversees that make Amazon’s electronics – all those
Echos, Kindles, and Dots – fare even worse. A China Labor
watch report from 2018 found workers putting in 100 hours of overtime
monthly during peak season and that the factory lacked adequate fire
safety, protective equipment, or a functioning labor union.
Amazon
Prime Day(s) are July 15 and 16. Amazon wants you to spend your days
clicking on its site to receive overnight delivery of stuff you never
knew you needed.

Anything
“in the cloud” is stored on servers that require massive amounts
of energy to operate—and Amazon.com’s Amazon Web Services (AWS)
servers are some of the largest and dirtiest in the industry.
While
other major technology firms have established data centers powered by
100% renewable energy, like wind and solar, Amazon continues to power
its servers with 50% fossil fuels. The burning of these fossil fuels
increases the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, leading
to climate change.
What’s
more, unlike many Fortune 500 companies, Amazon has refused to
disclose any information about its energy use and climate impacts to
the Carbon Disclosure Project. The company also refuses to produce an
annual sustainability report. Amazon is hiding its impacts on the
planet from its customers and shareholders.

addition, Amazon has been shopping its web services to the fossil
fuel industry to help oil and gas companies increase their drilling
worldwide. Amazon is using its state-of-the art technology to
accelerate the drilling and burning of fossil fuels – helping to
accelerate climate change.
Finally,
Amazon’s poor conduct extends to its workers as well as the
planet. Workers in Amazon warehouses report grueling
conditions, especially during seasonal sales. And, the
overseas workers making Amazon’s electronics fare even worse. A
report from China Labor Watch (CLW) in 2018 details overtime hours
exceeding the legal limits, poor safety conditions, and other labor
abuses in a Chinese factory that produces Amazon Eco Dots, Kindles,
and tablets.
No
one should have to choose between using the Internet or
protecting people and the planet. Consumer pressure on
Amazon works and got the company to use 50% clean energy for its
servers, and to make a recent announcement of three more clean energy
projects worldwide. But, Amazon is still a laggard in the tech sector
and only continued pressure will keep the company moving in the right

Het is weer eens zover: WDR berichtte zojuist in het nieuws van 13.30 u. dat de Europese rechter* Amazon in het gelijk heeft gesteld, men behoeft daar geen telefoon te bemannen om klachten van klanten op te nemen….. Het is volgens de rechter genoeg als je via internet je beklag kan doen…….
De ‘Europese rechter’ ofwel de EU rechter, ‘begrijpt blijkbaar niet’ dat nog steeds een fiks deel van de EU bevolking digibeet is, bovendien zitten een aantal klachtenformulieren van bedrijven ingewikkeld in elkaar, waardoor mensen niet zelden de moed in de schoenen zakt en ze het er verder maar bij laten zitten……
Het is duidelijk: ook de ‘Europese rechter’ zit er voor dit soort zaken vooral voor de (grote) bedrijven….. Dit belooft nog wat als de EU het voor elkaar krijgt dat Trump het TTIP verdrag tekent, een vrijhandelsverdrag dat o.a. voorziet in een geheime rechtbank (ISDS) waar bedrijven landen kunnen aanklagen voor het weigeren van hun producten, bijvoorbeeld als de voedselveiligheid in gevaar komt….. De praktijk laat zien dat de bedrijven vrijwel altijd aan het langste eind trekken, ten koste van de consument……..
Tel dit alles nog eens op bij het steeds verder blokkeren van de rechtsgang in een aantal EU-lidstaten (zoals in Nederland) voor armere EU burgers en je begrijpt dat deze mensen niets meer te vertellen hebben, zeg maar zoals het er in de VS aan toegaat……
De EU is er voor bedrijven en welgestelden en tegen de belangen van de gewone (‘hard werkende’) burgers……..
Gelekte
documenten van Google en Pinterest tonen aan dat Google en Pinterest
censuur uitoefenen op onafhankelijke media, christelijke websites en
‘niet populaire’ opinies op de sociale media…..
Niets
nieuws, maar zoals al vaker opgemerkt, hoe meer bewijs voor dit soort
maatregelen die thuishoren in een dictatuur, hoe beter…..
Overigens wordt in het hieronder opgenomen artikel gesproken over het zoeken op het internet waarbij bepaalde resultaten aan de hand van een lijst met termen worden gemanipuleerd, anders gezegd: je krijgt in feite niet te zien waar je naar opzoek was…. Niets nieuws, al een paar jaar geleden viel het me op dat op een ander vlak, namelijk de naam van de website of blog, genoeg was om niet te worden opgenomen in de zoekresultaten, of ze werden pas na een aantal pagina’s weergegeven, ook de Azijnpisser is sindsdien moeilijk te vinden in de zoekresultaten….. Het is dan ook aan te raden dat wanneer je zeker weet een artikel op een site of blog te hebben gezien, de naam van die site of blog toe te voegen aan de zoektermen die je gebruikt.
Gelukkig
zien meer en meer mensen dat censuur op de sociale media zich tegen
hen keert, ofwel zoeken naar feiten op het internet wordt gedomineerd
door platforms die censuur uitoefenen en dan gaat het niet alleen om Google en Pinterest, maar ook om Facebook
en Twitter, waardoor men geen of moeilijk informatie op
onafhankelijke media kan vinden……

Het
voorgaande is van groot belang als je ziet dat de reguliere media
voor het overgrote deel al lang niet meer onafhankelijk zijn en
ondanks alle beschuldigingen door die media van sites op de sociale
media als zouden deze fake news (nepnieuws) en andere desinformatie
verspreiden, zijn het juist de reguliere (massa-) media die aantoonbaar
een enorme berg fake news brachten en op andere manieren het publiek
manipuleerden met desinformatie, dit gebeurt overigens nog steeds…….. Neem de totaal gekleurde berichtgeving in die
media voorafgaand en tijdens de illegale oorlogen van de VS, met de
NAVO als oorlogshond, uiteraard onder opperbevel van de VS….

Documents From Pinterest Reveal Censorship of Anti-Media
Newly
leaked documents from Google and Pinterest reveal ongoing efforts to
censor independent media, Christian websites, and unpopular opinions.
(TMU) — As
more and more Americans question the practices of tech companies like
Google, Facebook, and Amazon, the topic of censorship on social media
and in search results continues to be a hotly debated topic. Do these
companies essentially act as publishers, and if so, should they be
regulated as such? Should the government make efforts to break up the
tech giants? These questions and more need answering as the public
grapples with the reality that “Big Tech” is gaining more control
over what we see, hear, and read while surfing the internet.
Now,
more fuel has been added to the fire as the controversial
conservative investigative outlet Project
Veritas has released
leaked documents which
show Pinterest blocking links of alternative media websites and
search terms related to Christianity and abortion. The apparent
blacklist is part of a “porn
domain block list” designed
to keep the social media platform free of sexually explicit content.
Veritas published the internal documents and reportedly interviewed a
company insider who claimed Pinterest directly and indirectly censors
content related to pro-life and Christian themes, as well as
alternative health sites, and several independent news websites known
for challenging the U.S. government narrative on a range of topics,
including the War on Terror. These sites include ZeroHedge, The
Anti-Media,
NewsWars (operated by Alex Jones’ Infowars), The PedoGate, Tracking
Vaccinations, and Organic Healthy Tips.
Other
documents leaked to Project
Veritas include
a large text file titled “Sensitive Terms List” containing search
terms that Pinterest considers “sensitive.” A user searching one
of these “sensitive” terms will received modified search results
per Pinterest internal policy. The documents note that search terms
are assigned an “abusive,” “sensitive,” and “brand unsafe”
value. Pinterest employees have the option to either block
auto-complete results in the search bar, show the user a warning, or
remove the term from recommended or trending feeds. The so-called
“Sensitive Terms List” reveals that Christianity-related terms
like “christian easter” and “bible verses” were marked as
“brand unsafe.”
This
is not the first time Pinterest made the news for censoring certain
material. In February, the platform also blocked searches related to
“anti-vaccination” material.
However,
the company is not alone in their efforts to remove unpopular
opinions and alternative media from their platforms. One day
after Project
Veritas‘
report, theDaily
Callerreported that
a whistleblower within Google leaked screenshots of two apparent
blacklists of websites which are being scrubbed from the search
engine’s results. TheDaily
Caller reviewed
documents and found that employees are instructed to add the line “#
REMOVE url” to ensure that a “fringe” website is removed from
Google’s “featured snippets” search results. The “featured
snippets” feature is responsible for finishing users sentences when
they type questions into Google’s search box. The document suggests
that the removal of certain websites from featured snippets is being
conducted manually by a human employee rather than the result of a
mistake by an algorithm or artificial intelligence.
The
Caller also reports that a second blacklist, called
“all_fringe_domains,” is designed to block websites labeled
“fringe.” Some of the websites being blocked include “the
American Spectator, Breitbart, Breaking911, the website of pastor
Brian Jones, the website of Bring Your Bible to School
Day, Consortium
News (published
by Robert Parry), St. Philip the Deacon Lutheran Church,
speakerryan.com, The Franklin Society (a cryptocurrency blog), Free
Thought Project,
The Gateway Pundit, and The Gorka Briefing”.
The
leaked documents reported on by the Daily
Caller and Project
Veritas raise
a number of questions regarding how much control and influence the
Big Tech giants have over public discourse. Even more worrisome is
the fact that websites like the Free
Thought Project,
the Anti-Media,
and ZeroHedge have
been facing waves of censorship for over a year, with both
the Anti-Media and
the Free
Thought Projectbeing purged from
Facebook in October 2018.

wijst o.a. op WaPo ofwel op de Washington Post (in handen van één van de rijkste
personen ter wereld t.w. Jeff Bezos de oprichter, voorzitter en CEO
van Amazon) dat tijdens de democratische voorverkiezingen in 2016
binnen 16 uur tijd 16 artikelen publiceerde waarin Bernie Sanders (publiekelijk) werd besmeurd……..
Het
zal in aanloop van de presidentsverkiezingen in 2020 niet anders
zijn, sterker nog: nu al worden de democratische kandidaten al
besmeurd met valse aanklachten zoals o.a. op de Daily Beast……
Logisch
ook dat de reguliere media het hardst roepen om ingrijpen op de
sociale media (en het aanpakken van ‘Russische manipulaties’), daar
men op de sociale media, i.t.t. die reguliere media, wel een afgewogen beeld kan krijgen over wat er toe
doet in de wereld, uiteraard ook als het gaat om de presidentsverkiezingen in
de VS.
Wie
nog denkt dat de reguliere westerse media de waarheid brengen moet
wel volkomen blind en doof zijn, immers die media hebben intussen
kilometers aan bestanden die bomvol staan met ‘fake news’ (nepnieuws), neem alleen al de
berichtgeving in die media voorafgaand aan en tijdens de illegale oorlogen die
de VS met hulp van haar oorlogshond NAVO is begonnen, of het nu om
Afghanistan, Irak, Libië, Oekraïne of Syrië gaat……
Het voorgaande waar de genocide in Jemen amper de aandacht van de reguliere media kan trekken…..* Als die media aandacht besteden aan die genocide, worden
de Houthi rebellen keer op keer beschreven als Iraanse terroristen, terwijl deze
organisatie met succes IS en Al Qaida bestreed, de reden voor
ingrijpen door de soennitische terreurstaat Saoedi-Arabië…… De Houthi rebellen beschermen de sjiieten in Jemen, waar niemand anders deze kan bieden……

candidate Kamala Harris the other day. “If we don’t do anything

vulnerable to future attacks.”

been seeing many
such hysterical warnings about
Russian interference in the upcoming 2020 elections, and as the

Another
concern people have been voicing, which has far more legitimacy, is
the fear of election tampering from domestic actors. An
article published
the other day by Roll
Call reports
that experts are warning America’s 2020 elections “will be held
on voting machines that are woefully outdated and that any tampering
by adversaries could lead to disputed results.” An article
published last month by
the Guardian warns
that new voting machines aren’t necessarily an improvement.
“The
purchases replace machines from the turn of the century that raise
serious security concerns,” the Guardian reports.
“But the same companies that made and sold those machines are
behind the new generation of technology, and a history of distrust
between election security advocates and voting machine vendors has
led to a bitter debate over the viability of the new voting
equipment — leaving some campaigners wondering if America’s
election system in 2020 might still be just as vulnerable to attack.”
Initiatives
are sprouting up to bring more election security and reliability to
the United States, which is currently ranked
dead last in
election integrity among all western democracies. Support for paper
ballots is picking up steam with support
from Senate Democrats and
multiple presidential candidates, and rightly so; hand-counted paper
ballots is considered the
gold standard for
election integrity, and every nation should want that for their
voting systems.
But
neither foreign interference nor domestic vote tampering will be the
most egregious form of election meddling that we will see in
America’s 2020 presidential elections.
In what has to be some kind of record, the Washington Post ran 16 negative stories on Bernie Sanders in 16 hours, between roughly 10:20 PM EST Sunday, March 6, to 3:54 PM EST Monday, March 7—a window that includes the crucial Democratic debate in Flint, Michigan, and the next morning’s spin:
We
are already seeing this same pattern repeated today, arguably in an
even more egregious way. A recent article by Matt Taibbi for Rolling
Stone titled
“We’ve
Hit a New Low in Campaign Hit Pieces”
documents some jaw-droppingly obnoxious smears leveled against the
two Democratic candidates who are taking the most flack from the mass
media, Sanders and Tulsi Gabbard.
The Daily
Beast added
to the growing
mountain of MSM Gabbard smears with
an article titled “Tulsi Gabbard’s Campaign Is Being Boosted by
Putin Apologists”, claiming on essentially zero evidence that the
Hawaii congresswoman has a suspicious amount of support from Kremlin
loyalists, a smear which was elevated into mainstream consciousness
by ABC and CNN. Sanders was smeared by the New
York Times for
his previous opposition to US interventionism in Nicaragua.
We’re
not even halfway through 2019 and there are already far too many of
such mass media hit pieces for me to list in this article. These
plutocrat-owned outlets are doing everything they can to make sure
that Trump will be running against a more polite version of himself
come November 2020. Hell, Fortune
Magazine just
published an article titled “Why
Joe Biden Is the Only True Progressive Candidate”,
which attempts to argue exactly what the headline promises. Once the
primaries are over, this manipulation will shift toward whoever’s
the oligarchic favorite for the general election.

As
soon as you see someone become extremely wealthy, you immediately see
them start buying up public narrative control. They buy and invest in
media outlets, they pour money into influential think tanks, they
send lobbyists into government offices to persuade politicians to
think a certain way about a given subject. Ordinary people can’t
afford to do these things, so they have relatively little control
over the dominant narratives about what’s going on in our society
and our world.
It
is therefore an indisputable fact that the very wealthy therefore
have an immensely disproportionate influence over the way that people
think and vote, which means the plutocratic class has the fully legal
ability to practice election interference. Both the plutocratic media
and the US government have already tacitly admitted that this is true
in the frantic, hysterical way they’ve been talking about Russian
Facebook memes as election interference, despite the fact that those
social media posts are a microscopic
drop in the barrel of
the billions
and billions of dollars that
goes into mass media election coverage. If the Internet Research
Agency of St Petersburg was election meddling, then the plutocratic
class which consistently manipulates public narratives to its favor
certainly is as well, to an extent that is greater by orders of
magnitude.
Of
course it’s good that people are pushing for paper ballots, and
it’s not a bad idea to take precautions against foreign
interference as well, but we must become aware that the greatest
share of election interference happens before anyone sets foot in a
polling booth. The way the American psyche is pummeled with mass
media narratives designed to manufacture
consent for
war, economic injustice, ecocide, Orwellian government intrusiveness,
and the politicians who promote these things will influence far more
votes in 2020 than any other election tampering, foreign or domestic.
Mass
media propaganda is the single most overlooked and under-appreciated
aspect of our society. The ability of an elite class to control the
way a supermajority of the population thinks, acts and votes has
shaped our entire world in the favor of a few sociopaths driven by an
insatiable lust for money and power who got to where they are because
they were willing to do anything to get ahead. If we can’t find a
way to get a handle on that, then it won’t matter how pristine your
elections are, how ethical the DNC primary process becomes, or what
the Russians are up to this year.
Do
you want to live in a world which is built around the selfish desires
of powerful, amoral manipulators and hoarders? No? Then you’re
going to have to start doing what you can to oppose such a system,
and to convince as many of your brothers and sisters as possible to
join you.

presidentsverkiezingen in 2020, wil de macht van bedrijven als
Facebook (FB), Amazon en Google breken. Waar ze vooral FB de bel aanbindt
met het gevoerde bedrijfsbeleid waarin commentaar op het beleid van het bedrijf op het FB platform niet
wordt getolereerd……
Dit is geen nieuw beleid van FB, maar is vanaf 2007 de bedoeling geweest (van Zuckerberg), aldus Matt Stoller van het Open Markets Institute, Zuckerberg wenst geen discussie over Facebook op het FB platform…..
Als
dank voor Warrens volkomen terechte kritiek weigerde FB nog langer
een reclame voor het presidentschap uit te zenden, waarin ze de macht van de genoemde 3 bedrijven aan de kaak stelt……. Na fikse kritiek
is dit intussen wel teruggedraaid.
Echter
Warren was maar wat blij met de actie van FB, daar dit bedrijf met
haar actie Warren gelijk gaf met haar kritiek op de macht van FB….
Warren
heeft overigens al laten weten dat wanneer het aan haar ligt, de
macht van bedrijven als de genoemde 3 zal worden afgebroken.

a move Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) described as a perfect example
of why her
plan to break up tech giants is
necessary, Facebook late Monday took down ads from Warren’s
presidential campaign that promoted the proposal and denounced tech
corporations—including Facebook itself—for exploiting users’
private information for profit.
Though
the ads were later restored, Warren said the episode demonstrates the
need for a “social media marketplace that isn’t dominated by a
single censor”—a point that was echoed by
critics of big tech’s monopoly power.
“Curious

Massachusetts senator wrote, using the hashtag #BreakUpBigTech.

You shouldn’t have to contact Facebook’s publicists in order for them to decide to “allow robust debate” about Facebook. They shouldn’t have that much power.
The
Facebook ad by Warren’s 2020 presidential campaign boosted her newly
released plan to
“break up big tech” by highlighting how concentration of
power in the hands of just three corporate behemoths—Facebook,
Amazon, and Google—has affected the U.S. economy and democracy
itself.
“Three
companies have vast power over our economy and our democracy.
Facebook, Amazon, and Google,” read the ad. “We all use
them. But in their rise to power, they’ve bulldozed competition, used
our private information for profit, and tilted the playing field in
their favor.”
“It’s
time to break up these big companies so they don’t have so much power
over everyone else,” Warren’s ad continued. “I’ve got a
plan to protect consumers and competition.”
On
Monday evening, the ad was briefly replaced
with the following message:
“This ad was taken down because it goes against Facebook’s
advertising policies.”
After
the move sparked immediate backlash, Facebook issued a statement
claiming the ads were pulled because “they violated our policies
against use of our corporate logo.”
“In
the interest of allowing robust debate,” the statement
continued, “we are restoring the ads.”
As
Open Markets Institute fellow Matt Stoller pointed out, Facebook’s
policy barring the use of its corporate logo originated a decade ago
in response to a group titled “Facebook Users Against the New
Terms of Service.”
Following
the group’s formation, Stoller noted, Facebook instituted a ban on
the use of the company name or logo in ads and group titles.
In the name of debate? Facebook banned the use of its name and logo about a decade ago in response to a large group titled ‘Facebook users against the new terms of service.’
“In
other words, it has been policy for Facebook not to allow political
debates about Facebook on Facebook,” Stoller concluded.
“Facebook has been autocratic since the roll-out of Beacon in
2007. Barring users from organizing on Facebook about Facebook was an
important part of Zuckerberg’s control of his platform’s politics.”
