Nadat
zaterdag 23 maart jl. een Russisch militair vliegtuig ongeveer
100 Russische militairen en militaire goederen afleverde in Caracas
is men in het Witte Huis volgens gebruikelijke hypocriete manier
theatraal de bol uitgegaan….. Eerst liet Trump al weten dat deze
provocatieve actie van Rusland een ernstig gevaar is voor de
‘internationale vrede’ (waar? ha! ha!) en veiligheid in de regio……
Bolton de
psychopathische adviseur van Trump, als Trump een
oorlogsmisdadiger, herhaalde deze woorden en voegde daar de waarschuwing aan toe voor partijen van buiten de westerse ‘hemisfeer’, niet te proberen een bruggenhoofd te vormen in
Venezuela of andere gebieden in het westen, daarbij uiteraard doelend
op Rusland als ‘bruggenhoofd bouwer….’ (hoewel hij met deze woorden natuurlijk ook China waarschuwt…)
Je
vraagt je werkelijk af waar de twee het gore lef vandaan halen anderen
te beschuldigen van zaken en hen daarvoor te waarschuwen, zaken die de VS bij herhaling zelf
elders doet, sterker nog: de VS heeft meer dan 800 militaire bases over de wereld en dat bepaald niet alleen in de ‘westerse hemisfeer……’
De VS gaat trouwens ook op ander gebied veel verder, dat middels een genocide gestolen land
voert de ene illegale oorlog na de andere en bemoeit zich met
binnenlandse aangelegenheden zonder daarvoor te zijn gevraagd, zoals
nu weer in Venezuela…… Rusland trad niet eigenhandig op in Syrië
en Venezuela, maar op uitdrukkelijke vraag van het bevoegde gezag in
die landen, want wat de VS ook vindt en zegt over die landen, het
zijn en blijven soevereine landen waar de VS niets, maar dan ook
helemaal niets te zoeken heeft…..
Het is
maar goed dat de Trump administratie niet in Moskou is gevestigd,
immers dan hadden we al lang en breed in WOIII gezeten, gezien de
westerse agressie langs de grenzen met Rusland, een plek waar de VS, noch haar oorlogshond de NAVO, iets te zoeken hebben, zoals blijkt
uit een overeenkomst in 1991 gesloten met Michail Gorbatsjov, de ex-president van de Sovjet Unie… Dit alles terwijl Rusland niet eens hetzelfde doet langs de grenzen van de VS……. (mocht Rusland hetzelfde proberen langs de grens van de VS >> het land zou te klein zijn voor de verontwaardiging en hysterie die dit zou oproepen, zie het voorbeeld daarvan: de Cubacrisis in 1962…… de link is naar dat onderdeel op Wikipedia, dus let op, daar deze site tegenwoordig deels is afgeladen met niet te corrigeren onzin…)
Tot slot nog dit: als er één land is dat zelfs de wereldvrede bedreigt en overal waar het illegaal ingrijpt dood en verderf zaait, is het de VS wel, of het nu gaat om de westerse of oosterse hemisfeer…..

Out Of Western Hemisphere! Bolton Warns Russia Over Troops In
Venezuela
The
White House has dramatically stepped up its rhetoric threatening
action against Russia’s military presence in Venezuela after the
Kremlin deployed a troop contingency to Caracas last Saturday.
Trump’s
national security adviser John Bolton took tensions to a new level,
on Friday issuing a new Monroe doctrine of sorts, telling Moscow any
attempt to establish or expand military
operationsin
the western hemisphere constitutes a “provocative” and
“direct threat” to
international peace and security in the region.
“We
stronglycaution
actors external to the Western Hemisphere against
deploying military assets to Venezuela, or elsewhere in the
Hemisphere, with the intent of establishing or expanding military
operations,” Bolton said in a
statement.
“We
will consider such provocative actions as a direct threat to
international peace and security in the region,” he added.
This follows the president’s own warning on Wednesday that“all
options” are on the table regarding
potential expanding Russian presence in Venezuela.
Two
Russian aircraft carrying about 100 servicemen and 35 tons of cargo
arrived in Caracas last Saturday, led by Russian General Vasily
Tonkoshkurov, identified as chief of the Main Staff of the Ground
Forces and First Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Land Forces of
Russia.
This
prompted Trump’s Wednesday warning to Russia against
involvement in the Latin American nation; he told reporters in
the Oval Office that:
“Russia
has to get out.”
Kremlin
officials responded by explaining that it deployed military
specialists merely
to service preexisting arms contracts with
Venezuela, and that Russia is not interfering in the Latin American
country’s internal affairs.
Russian
Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said at a
press briefing on Thursday when
asked how long the Russian troop contingency led by a high ranking
general will stay:
“How
long? As long as they need to, and
as long as the Venezuelan government needs them. It all is being done
based on bilateral agreements.”
Russia’s
position is that it is not interfering in Venezuela’s internal
affairs by merely cooperating on legal and existing service
contracts, and that no other country should do so either. It said
that only “specialists”had
entered Venezuela under a pre-existing agreed upon military
cooperation deal.
However,
the White House isn’t buying it, as Bolton’s Friday statement
further condemned Maduro’s “use of foreign military personnel in
his attempt to remain in power, including the introduction of Russian
military personnel and equipment into Venezuela.”
“Maduro
will only use this military support to further repress the people of
Venezuela; perpetuate the economic crisis that has destroyed
Venezuela’s economy; and endanger regional stability,” Bolton said.
All
of this also comes as the Maduro government stripped US-backed
opposition leader Juan Guaido of his position in the National
Assembly, further barring
him from holding
public office for 15 years.

Camp de schrijver van het hieronder opgenomen artikel, eerder
gepubliceerd op Truthdig en door mij overgenomen van Information Clearing House, stelt in zijn openingszin dat het
niet de eerste keer is dat de VS regering en de massamedia het volk
van de VS een oorlog in sleept, dan wel een staatsgreep organiseert die
onherroepelijk desastreuze gevolgen zal hebben….. Die uitspraak
gaat wel op voor het eufemisme van het jaar, immers de VS
geschiedenis vanaf 1945 staat er bol van!*
Met
een terugkijk op zijn leve ten tijde van de tweede illegale oorlog
van de VS tegen Irak in 2003 en hoe hij toen de zaken bekeek, waar
hij het gevoel kreeg dat de argumenten voor die oorlog niet klopten,
ontleedt Camp 4 illegale oorlogen van de VS die op valse gronden
werden gevoerd.
Camp
begint met de Spaans-Amerikaanse oorlog, waar de reden voor een VS aanval het zinken was van oorlogsschip USS Maine in de
haven van Havanna. Daarna haalt hij de Vietnam oorlog aan en het
conflict in de Golf van Tonkin, waar VS oorlogsschepen ‘schoten op
weersverschijnselen die ze op de radar zagen……’ Oorlogsmisdadiger Robert McNamara wist op grond van deze in feite
false flag operatie**, president Johnson te bewegen de strijd
tegen Noord-Vietnam te intensiveren tot een ‘totale oorlog……’ Later gaf McNamara toe dat het Golf van Tonkin incident nooit
plaatsvond…… Let wel: deze oorlog kostte miljoenen het leven, deze slachtoffers werden niet alleen in Vietnam vermoord (3,8 miljoenmensen), maar ook in buurlanden Laos en Cambodja……
Vervolgens
komt de oorlog tegen Irak aan bod, een illegale oorlog waarvan
iedereen kan weten dat deze op basis van leugens werd aangegaan door
de VS, een oorlog die intussen aan meer dan 2 miljoen Irakezen het
leven heeft gekost (Camp noemt overigens een aantal van 1 miljoen
Irakese slachtoffers, nogal een verschil met schattingen die in Irak
werden gemaakt door deskundigen, al blijft een aantal van 1 miljoen
doden, een verschrikking waar je je amper iets bij voor kan
stellen….)
Camp
komt als eerste (hij begint vanaf het vierde voorbeeld) met het
bombarderen van Syrië. Jammer dat hij niet wijst op het feit dat de
VS al in 2006 heeft besloten dat Assad weg moest, niet in de laatste
plaats daar hij pijpleidingen over de grond van Syrië weigerde,
gaspijpleidingen van de Golfstaten richting Zuid-Europa…… (waarmee 2 vliegen in 1 klap worden
geveld, immers met dat gas zou Rusland een afzet probleem krijgen in
Europa…..). De VS heeft de opstand in Syrië georganiseerd en geregisseerd, waar deze terreurentiteit gewapende figuren van buiten Syrië als provocateurs heeft ingezet tijdens
die ‘opstand…’ Helaas voor de VS, maar deze keer mislukte de
opzet……
Camp
noemt veel meer feiten en zaken die de reguliere (massa-) media niet
brengen. Het verhaal eindigt tenslotte bij Venezuela, waarover Camp
o.a. vertelt dat oorlogsmisdadiger Bolton zonder blikken of blozen
stelde dat de VS uit is op de enorme olievoorraad van Venezuela (de
op 1 na grootste voorraad ter wereld, volgens Camp de grootste maar dat klopt m.i. niet). Deze bekentenis van Bolton werd niet eens gebracht door de massamedia, nee zij houden vol dat de arme
Venezolanen geholpen moeten worden, daar het hen aan alles ontbreekt,
‘zelfs aan tandpasta…’ (zie daarvoor ook de video van Lee Camp, die onder het artikel is weergegeven, waar hij ook op de ‘honger’ in Venezuela ingaat)
Niet
genoemd door Camp, maar de VN en het Rode Kruis hebben de VS terecht
gewezen met haar poging humanitaire hulp te politiseren,
daar deze organisaties al lang humanitaire hulp verstrekken in
Venezuela, er zijn zelfs 20 keer meer humanitaire hulpgoederen in
Venezuela (waaronder medicijnen) dan de VS heeft klaarstaan…..
Humanitaire hulpgoederen die zoals gezegd wel medicijnen bevatten, in
tegenstelling tot de humanitaire hulp uit de VS, terwijl de westerse massamedia en het grootste deel van de westerse politici in navolging van hun collega’s in de VS, dat keer op keer wel
stellen……. Nota bene USAID, de organisatie die de VS zendingen gereed maakt, heeft zelf toegegeven
dat zich geen medicijnen tussen die VS hulpgoederen bevinden….. Alweer een feit dat de westerse reguliere media niet hebben gemeld……

is not the first time our government and our media have conspired to
drag the American people into war with another country—or helped
create a coup that will inevitably have disastrous results

Clearing House” – I was 23 when we invaded Iraq,
and I wasn’t sure it was based on lies, but something deep down in
me—just behind the spleen—told me it was based on lies. Kinda
like if your blind date shows up and you notice he has a 2004 flip
phone. It seems vaguely worrisome, and no explanation he can
haltingly supply will put you at ease. Plus, anyone else who acts
like it’s normal also becomes suspect.
The
invasion of Iraq just felt like it was a lie to me. And it turned out
that I was right, that it was a lie, and that the entirety of the
mainstream media and our government were either wrong or lying and,
most of the time, both.
Now
our government and our media are trying their damnedest to lie us
into another war, this one with Venezuela. They tell us the
Venezuelan people are desperate for necessities like toothpaste,
while independent journalists show
piles of affordable toothpaste in
Caracas.
And
even if they didn’t have toothpaste, that hardly seems like a good
reason for America to be dropping our long-range bad decisions on the
heads of innocent people. Turning a town into an impact crater for
the sake of a battle to stop gingivitis seems a bit extreme.
The
mainstream media and nearly the entirety of the U.S. government tell
us Juan Guaido is the “interim president,” even though he was
never elected to that position and the current president is still
leading the Venezuelan government and military. So I guess this
“interim” is the time between Guaido being a nobody and the time
when he goes back to being nobody but now gets to tell women at
parties, “You know, I used to be interim president.”
The
mainstream media also inform us that the Venezuelan military set U.S.
aid trucks on fire, when video shows opposition
forces doing it.
Furthermore, the idea of Venezuela taking “aid” from the country
whose sanctions are crushing them would be like the Standing Rock
Sioux accepting gift packages from the construction crews
swiss-cheesing their land to lay down the Dakota Access pipeline (DAPL).
Unless the boxes are filled with industrial paper towels to help
clean up oil spills, I fail to see how it would be beneficial.
Sometimes you do indeed have to look a gift horse in the mouth (or
should I say “gift
dog”).
This
is not the first time our government and our media have conspired to
drag the American people into war with another country—or helped
create a coup that will inevitably have disastrous results. So I
thought this would be a prime moment to go through the top four
greatest hits.
Number
4: The Spanish-American War
This
is widely considered to be the birth of modern media propaganda,
because it was the first war actually started
by the media.
Newspapers fabricated atrocities in the never-ending quest for more
readers.
And
as The
New York Times noted,
“[T]he sensationalistic reporting of the sinking of the American
battleship Maine in Havana harbor on Feb. 15, 1898 … and all the
other egregious reporting leading up to the Spanish-American War
might have been considered merely cartoonish if it hadn’t led to a
major international conflict.”
I
think maybe The New York Times got that quote confused with its
mission statement: “Cartoonishly dragging America into major
international conflict since 1851!”
Number
3: The Vietnam War
Sure,
most everyone knows the catastrophic Vietnam War was precipitated by
the Gulf of Tonkin incident, in which U.S. naval vessels were fired
upon by villainous North Vietnamese torpedo boats. Following that
skirmish, Defense Secretary Robert McNamara recommended that
President Johnson retaliate, and the full-force Vietnam War had
begun. But most Americans still don’t know that there was no Gulf
of Tonkin incident—unless you count U.S. naval ships literally
firing their weapons at weather events they saw
on the radar.
The 2003 documentary “The Fog of War” finally revealed the truth.
Former Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara confessed that the Gulf
of Tonkin attack did
not actually happen.
That’s
right. It never happened. Much like leprechauns or dragons or Simon
Cowell’s talent, it was a figment of our national imagination.
The
lies of our government, followed by the fawning, credulous reporting
from our media, led to the death of 58,000 U.S. service members and
as many as 3.8 million Vietnamese.
The
United States government has one of the most powerful Departments of
Fabrication and Falsification ever assembled. It’s a modern marvel
on par with the Great Pyramid of Giza and Rafael Nadal’s
down-the-line running forehand.
Number
2: The Iraq War
Of
course, there’s the most obvious lie about Iraq, i.e., that Saddam
Hussein had so many weapons of mass destruction that he would often
use one to scrub hard-to-reach places while in the tub. But that
wasn’t the only falsehood manifested to bring about our complete
annihilation of the sovereign nation Saddam ruled over. There were
others, such as the idea that Saddam was connected to al-Qaida and
perhaps played a role in the 9/11 attacks. William Safire at The New
York Times, in May
2002, wrote,
“Mohamed Atta, destined to be the leading Sept. 11 suicide
hijacker, was reported last fall by Czech intelligence to have met at
least once with Saddam Hussein’s espionage chief in the Iraqi
Embassy.”
Yes,
Safire was able to polish a load of bullshit so thoroughly it would
sparkle like a sapphire. And that column is still up on the Times’
website, without a correction or retraction. I would say the Times is
only useful for covering the bottom of a birdcage, but I’d fear the
paper would lie your pet cockatoo into an ill-advised invasion,
killing millions.
But
the propaganda didn’t even stop there. There was also the anthrax
attacks following 9/11. Anthrax was mailed to press outlets and the
offices of politicians. To this day, many people still believe it had
something to do with Iraq or al-Qaida because of award-winning
national embarrassments like
Brian Ross.
“Brian
Ross at ABC News wrote ‘the anthrax in the tainted letter sent to
Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle was laced with bentonite’ and
‘bentonite is a trademark of Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein’s
biological weapons program.’ ” As Salon so clearly put it,
“All of those factual claims … were completely false,
demonstrably and unquestionably so. … Yet neither ABC nor Ross have
ever retracted, corrected, clarified, or explained these fraudulent
reports.”
And,
as you would expect, following that blatantly false reporting, Brian
Ross did not lose his job. In fact, he wasn’t put out to pasture
from ABC News until
last year,
when he “reported that fired national security adviser Michael
Flynn was ready to testify that Trump told him to contact the
Russians during the campaign.”
That
report—much like the rumors of Brian Ross’s journalistic
integrity—turned out to be absolutely false.
(In
my professional opinion, anyone who had anything to do with the
selling, perpetrating or planning of the Iraq War should never again
hold a position higher than assistant trainee to the guy who picks up
the shit of a dog that does not belong to anyone of any particular
importance. If that position does not exist, we as a nation should
create it just for this moment. Yet, despite my objections, Robert
Mueller (head of the FBI at the time of the invasion and a big
supporter of it) is leading the biggest investigation in the country.
John Bolton, who advocated for the Iraq invasion as far back as the
1990s, is now national security adviser. Bill Kristol, who pushed for
the war and said it would last two months, is now a regular panelist
on MSNBC. And the list goes on.)
Unlike
Defense Secretary McNamara, who admitted the Gulf of Tonkin incident
never happened, we don’t have a smoking gun showing that the Bush
administration created these lies to get us into Iraq. … Oh, wait!
Turns out the paper shredder at the Bush Oval Office was on strike
for a higher minimum wage in 2002, and in fact, we do have a memo
written by Bush’s defense secretary, Donald Rumsfeld, a year before
U.S. forces unleashed a reign of terror on the Iraqi people. His memo
about warwith
Iraq stated, “How
start? US discovers Saddam connection to Sept 11 or to anthrax
attacks? Or maybe a dispute over WMD inspections?”
I’m
not sure what’s more striking—that this memo exists, or that it
sounds like the Bush boys planned a massive international battle the
same way a broke 35-year-old maps out his bad novel that he’s sure
is the ticket out of his mom’s basement.
“How
start horrible bloody war? Maybe Saddam found to moonlight as porn
star?”
Point
is, multiple completely false stories laid the groundwork for an
invasion of Iraq that left well
over 1 million people
dead.
Number
1: The Bombing of Syria
President
Bashar Assad gassed his own people, thereby guaranteeing more
American involvement—and he did it just days after Donald Trump had
told the Pentagon to begin withdrawing troops from Syria. At least,
that’s the story the corporate media repeated on-loop for at least
a month, only pausing every 10 minutes to try desperately to get us
all to buy more things with “baconator” in the name or to seek
out a harder penis.
So
we are expected to believe Assad did the one thing that would ensure
more U.S. involvement just as he was about to win his war? It’s
kinda like how, when I’m about to win a fistfight, I often poke
myself repeatedly in the eye. You know—just to keep it exciting.
Famed
journalists Seymour
Hersh and Robert
Fisk have
done great work showing that the chemical attacks never happened, but
there’s a new update. Just two weeks ago, a BBC producer came
forward and said the Douma, Syria, chemical attack footage
was staged.
His
tweet said that after six months of investigations, he can prove that
no fatalities occurred in the hospital. Yet our breathlessly inept
mainstream American media, with little to no evidence, ran around
saying, “There was a chemical attack! Those poor people! And they
don’t have toothpaste, either! We must bomb them to help them!”
The
overarching point here is that we’ve replaced our media with
stenographers to the ruling elite long ago. The ruling class comes up
with a lie to manufacture American consent for its all-American war
crimes, and that lie is then sprayed like laminate all over average
American citizens. This goes on until such time as any average
citizens who question said lie is looked at like they have two heads,
and one of them is covered in rat shit.
For
the “journalists” who hose the lies across the country the best,
awards and private jets and rooftop drinks with midlevel celebrities
like Chuck Norris await them. Now we’re getting to the point where
the actual rulers—the Trump administration, etc.—are not even
hiding their corruption. John Bolton stated
on Fox News that
the ultimate goal is to steal Venezuela’s oil. But our media
continue to tout the propaganda line. Even after Bolton said that,
you won’t see Anderson Cooper or one of Fox News’ grand wizards
saying, “Venezuela is undergoing a U.S.-backed coup because we’d
like to steal their oil.” It’s truly dizzying that the corporate
media preserve the propaganda even after the “leaders” have
revealed their true sinister intentions.
On
the inside of Wolf Blitzer’s eyelids, the phrase, “Must Defend
the Matrix” blinks in red.
The
propaganda line for Venezuela right now is, “We want to help the
poor Venezuelans.” Well, if you want to help them, then keep
America out of their face. Don’t force them to have anything to do
with the country that came up with drive-through fried food served in
a bucket and opioid nasal sprays. At no point does anyone look at the
Donald Trump presidency and think, “Wow, that country really has
things figured out. I hope they bring some of their great
decision-making to our doorstep.”

volgende artikel geschreven door Alan Macleod eerder
gepubliceerd op Venezuela Analysis (overgenomen van Anti-Media) stelt hij dat de VS zichzelf isoleert met haar
agressieve beleid jegens Venezuela. Daar valt wat mij betreft echter nog wel een dikke boom
over op te zetten.
Eén
ding is wel zeker: 75% van de landen staat niet achter de agressieve VS buitenlandpolitiek t.a.v. Venezuela en
blijft Maduro zien als president van Venezuela en hebben kritiek op
de VS. Wat nieuw was voor mij is het pleidooi in de VN dat de VS
herstelbetalingen moet doen aan Venezuela voor de illegale
economische oorlog die de VS voert tegen Venezuela. Waar een bons van
de VN volkomen terecht stelt dat de VS met haar sancties tegen Venezuela zelfs
misdaden tegen de menselijkheid pleegt en heeft gepleegd……
Jammer
dat Macleod niet meldt dat de VS al onder Obama bezig was met een
economische oorlog tegen Venezuela, al was dit destijds een stiekeme
oorlog, dit daar levensmiddelenketens uit de VS met supermarkten in
Venezuela onder druk werden gezet de voorraden voor hun winkels in
Venezuela niet of mondjesmaat aan te vullen, ook werden destijds de
grote farmaceuten van de VS onder druk gezet zo min mogelijk
medicijnen te leveren aan dit land…. (het maakt voor de meeste landen dan ‘ook niet’ uit wie er president is in de VS, een democraat of een republikein……)
Guaidó, de door de VS naar voren geschoven interim-president voor
Venezuela, een fascist waarvan het overgrote deel van de Venezolanen in
januari nog nooit had gehoord, heeft de doden die bij de
protesten tegen Maduro zijn gevallen, een investering in de
toekomst genoemd……. Een onderzoek heeft overigens aangetoond dat 80% van
de Venezolanen tegen de sancties is die de VS heeft opgelegd aan
Venezuela (sancties, overgenomen door Canada en de EU…..) en tegen
militair ingrijpen is……
De Trump
administratie heeft verder geen probleem om open en bloot te
verklaren dat een verandering van regime in het voordeel is van VS
bedrijven…. De psychopathische massamoordenaar Bolton die deze
uitlating deed, voegde daar aan toe, dat de Venezolaanse olie een
kans is voor de oliemaffia in de VS (waar Bolton uiteraard het woord
maffia niet gebruikte)….. Bolton dreigde Maduro bovendien met
gevangenisstraf in het VS martelkamp Guantanamo Bay, waar Rubio
foto’s liet zien van de op gruwelijke manier vermoorde Khadaffi, de voormalig

aanstelling van oorlogsmisdadiger en massamoordenaar Abrams als speciale gezant voor Venezuela, die de VS
acties tegen Venezuela moet coördineren, geeft duidelijk aan dat het

Venezuela, immers Abrams is bekend van eerdere agressieve acties van

De laatste daad van Guaidó hoorde ik gistermorgen op BBC World Service: een totale uitval van stroom in Caracas en andere grote steden, werd door deze ploert gebruikt om de voorstanders van Maduro te chanteren, volgens hem zal de stroom vaker uitvallen als vorm van protest, zolang Maduro aan het bewind blijft…… Let wel: eerdere sabotage van het elektriciteitsnet in Caracas leidde tot doden in ziekenhuizen, o.a. patiënten op de operatietafel daar de noodaggregaten niet werkten……
Vandaag werd gemeld dat minstens 1 vrouw in een Venezolaans ziekenhuis is overleden door de sabotage van de elektriciteitsvoorziening…….. Hoe kan je met goed verstand deze schofterige psychopathische terrorist nog steunen…??!!!
Vergeet voorts niet dat de VN en het Rode Kruis volop humanitaire hulpgoederen verspreiden in Venezuela, deze 2 organisaties hebben de VS zelfs beschuldigd voor het misbruiken van humanitaire hulp als politiek drukmiddel, een zaak die toekomstige humanitaire acties in gevaar brengt….. The
US Tried to Isolate Venezuela. It Has Only Isolated Itself.

(VA Op-ed) — It
is no secret that the United States has long been plotting regime
change in Venezuela. For
over 18 months President
Trump has been publicly floating a military invasion of the country.
At a speech in Florida President Trump recently announced “the
days of socialism and communism are numbered in Venezuela”
ominously stating “one day soon we are going to see what the people
will do in Caracas.” Vice President Mike Pence declared President
Nicolas Maduro a “dictator” and reiterated that self-declared
president Juan Guaidó had the “unwavering
support”
of the American people. In an attempt to destroy the economy and
force Maduro out of power, the US has leveled multiple rounds of
punishing (and
illegal)
sanctions on the country, and encouraged and intimidated others to do
the same in an effort to isolate Venezuela politically and
economically.
The
US managed to convince a number of Western European and Latin
American states to back their version of events. However, despite the
best attempts from an extraordinarily
compliant international
media to present Venezuela as an isolated nation on the brink of
collapse, the US plan is failing badly.
In
reality, the international community has rejected the US and its
candidate Juan Guaidó, with around 75
percent of
countries expressing support for Maduro. Completely unreported in the
media was the decision by the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) to unequivocally
condemn the
US sanctions, noting that they are targeted at the poorest and most
vulnerable Venezuelans. The UN called on all member states to break
them and even discussed the reparations the US should pay to
Venezuela. The American Special UN Rapporteur Alfred de
Zayas described the
sanctions as akin to a medieval siege and accused the US of possible
crimes against humanity. This startling news has been widely reported
internationally but has been virtually completely ignored by the
mainstream Western press. The New York Times, CNN, Washington Post
nor any other national American publication has reported it.
Trump’s
regime change strategy has been nothing short of comically
incompetent. Marco Rubio’s constant
calls for
the Venezuelan military to defect and overthrow Maduro have fallen
completely flat as the military has remained steadfastly loyal. The
UN and Red Cross refused to participate in the charade of American
“humanitarian aid” to Venezuela, noting it did not meet the
minimal requirements to be considered aid while Maduro’s government
has been only too happy to work with those agencies to receive
genuine assistance. The US attempt to force its “aid” through the
border and provoke a bloodbath failed, as the supposedly
pro-democracy aid workers appear to have set fire to their own aid
trucks. Meanwhile, billionaire celebrity Richard Branson’s
Venezuela Aid Live concert*, headlined by massive stars like Luis
Fonsi and Maluma garnered an attendance of barely
a few thousand.
Part
of the problem is that the group around Trump lacks the discipline
and polish of Obama administration and continue to let the mask slip,
making it crystal clear none of this is about democracy and human
rights. The appointment of Elliot Abrams, a man infamous in Latin
America for his role in regime change and genocide was a clear signal
to all what was about to happen. Trump’s special advisor John
Bolton said the quiet part loud, letting slip that he saw Venezuela a
“big
business opportunity”
for American companies, noting that “it
would make a big difference to the US” if
American companies could take over Venezuela’s oil production.
Bolton also revealed he was
considering sending
President Maduro to the Guantanamo Bay torture camp. Meanwhile, Marco
Rubio shocked the world by tweeting
out pictures
of Libyan leader Colonel Gaddafi’s mutilated corpse, taken on all
sides to be a crude statement of intent for Venezuela.
Another
embarrassing incident occurred just after Elliot Abrams, a man known
for smuggling weapons to Nicaragua under the guise of aid, was
appointed. The McClatchy DC Bureau revealed that
an American plane from Miami was caught smuggling weapons and
ammunition into Venezuela. The plane had made over 40 round trips
that year alone. None of this did anything to convince the
international community of the good intentions of the US government.
For
his part, Washington’s handpicked president Guaidó has not been
able to hide his more bloodthirsty, sociopathic side. The man who
over 80
percentof
Venezuelans had never heard of in January appalled the country
by callously
labeling the
deaths from the clashes “not as a cost” but an “investment in
the future”. The naked brazenness of the coup attempt is a primary
reason Guaidó has failed to win over the public. A recent
poll
showed that over 80 percent of Venezuelans opposed the US sanctions,
and even more were against a military intervention.
The
international community is increasingly rounding on the US. At the
recent UN Security Council hearing on Venezuela, the US
was excoriated by
South Africa for “trampling upon the law and constitutional rights
of Venezuela” and for “taking away the basic right of the people
[of Venezuela] to determine their own future”. Bolivia accused the
US of breaking the most fundamental laws of non-intervention in other
countries and violating Venezuela’s national sovereignty. Russia
summed up the mood, describing Guaidó as an “imposter” and that
the US was making a “mockery” of the constitutional rights of
Venezuela, noting that the US’ humanitarian aid stunt would “in
any other part of the world be classed as terrorism.”
Worse
still for the US, even the resolve of the Lima Group – and
organization of right-wing Latin American countries set up by the
Trump administration with the express goal of bringing about regime
change in Venezuela – is beginning to crumble. Brazil’s fascist
president Jair Bolsonaro, who previously claimed he would do
“everything” to get rid of Maduro, has backed away from the US;
Brazil declared that under
no circumstances would
it be any part of an invasion. Other key partners Colombia, Chile and
Peru made
similar statements. Many
of the strongest European critics of Maduro, such as Spain and
Germany, have also categorically rejected the military option the US
is now preparing for.
This
is hardly the first time that the US has isolated itself while trying
to isolate Venezuela. As I cataloged in my book Bad
News From Venezuela: Twenty Years of Fake News and Misreporting,
the US was completely alone in the world casting aspersions on the
2013 election result and calling for a recount. What is remarkable
about this time is how badly the hare-brained scheme is backfiring.
The Bank of England’s extraordinary decision to freeze over a
billion dollars in Venezuelan gold was a clear signal to the world
that the UK could not be trusted as a neutral arbiter. Italy
has reportedly
begun discussions to
repatriate their gold in Britain. If an allied state such as Italy
has done so, the likes of China, India and Russia must be thinking
the same. One of the few industries the UK has left is finance, and
this decision could have huge ramifications for Britain’s economy.
Furthermore, the government’s acceptance of the Trump regime change
plan has sparked a
massive uprising across
Haiti that threatens to bring down a US-client government.
As
a result of the hare-brained incompetence and the naked audacity of
the Trump/Abrams/Bolton regime change gambit in Venezuela, the US now
finds itself almost completely isolated in the world. This does not
necessarily mean the end of the US attack. The US is the world’s
only superpower and can act unilaterally whenever it pleases. But the
battle for world opinion has been lost. The battle for Venezuela
continues.

Terwijl de VS, o.l.v. het beest Trump, zich in mei 2018 terugtrok uit de Iran-nucleaire deal (JCPOA), ofwel al voor deze gebeurtenis werden Iraniërs belangrijke medicijnen uit de VS onthouden, iets dat je ook in Venezuela kon zien, al was dat zelfs vele jaren voordat de VS officieel sancties instelde tegen dat land…….. Een zaak die je moet zien als een geheime economische oorlog, ingesteld om het volk van een land als Venezuela opstandig te maken tegen de regering van dat land…..
De
VS stelt dat medicijnen zijn uitgesloten van de sancties tegen Iran, zoals gewoonlijk een keiharde leugen, hetzelfde zei de VS over de
sancties tegen Venezuela en ook daar ontbreekt het al lang aan
medicijnen, de tekorten waren zelfs al goed te merken onder de Obama
administratie, die destijds een ‘stiekeme’ boycot instelden tegen
Venezuela, dit door supermarktketens onder druk te zetten hun winkels
in Venezuela niet of alleen mondjesmaat te bevoorraden, deze druk
werd ook toen al uitgeoefend op de grote farmaceuten……… Zoals gezegd om de bevolking van in dit geval Iran opstandig te maken tegen haar regering en zo een ‘verandering van regime’ te bewerkstelligen, dan wel een staatsgreep mogelijk te maken….
Overigens heeft de CIA toegegeven dat zij al jaren bezig is om de oppositie tegen het regime in Iran, zoals terreurgroep MEK, te voorzien van financiën, middelen, advies en zelfs daadwerkelijk assistentie bij terreuracties tegen de Iraanse overheid…… (ook Israël werkt daaraan mee….)

Iranians
don’t understand why
We
are in Iran now and we have never met nicer people. Their eyes light
up when we say we’re Americans. Strangers
invite us to their homes, shopkeepers give us presents, students
shower us with friendly questions. “America good, Trump bad,”
they say—always with a hearty laugh and a beaming smile. But behind
the smiles are pain and hardship, much of it caused by Trump’s
policies of unilaterally withdrawing from the Iran nuclear deal and
re-imposing sanctions that hurt ordinary Iranians.
A
man in the Tehran bazaar told us his wife has cancer and because of
the sanctions, she hasn’t been able to get the right medication for
the past year. A man with diabetes said he can’t get the medicine
he needs to lower his glucose levels. The
U.S. says medicines are exempt from sanctions but in reality, it’s
just not true.
The
sanctions have also led to soaring prices, cutting people’s
purchasing power and affecting their life choices. A young woman who
had been accepted to college in London with a full scholarship was
devastated that she had to decline because her family could no longer
even afford her plane ticket. A young man told us he cancelled his
plans to get married because the couple couldn’t afford the wedding
costs.
We
must also ask Eliot Engel to stop supporting the MEK, the fringe
Iranian opposition group that is hated inside Iran for killing
civilians in terrorist acts. Many
Iranians criticize the Islamic Republic, but they do not see the MEK
as a legitimate replacement for the regime. Engel should cut his ties
with this terrorist group and instead promote diplomacy with Iran.
As
we come to the end of our trip, we leave with our hearts full of love
for the people here. But we also leave with a tremendous sense of
responsibility to stop the policies of our government that are
inflicting so much harm on innocent Iranians.

legislation in the House Foreign Affairs Committee that holds the
President accountable for violating an international agreement, and

In
the last 40 years, the U.S. and Iran have had no diplomatic
relations. The landmark Iran Nuclear Deal opened channels for
negotiations on a range of issues affecting the region. But President
Trump violated the international agreement and has closed off all
channels of communications.
Please
hold President Trump accountable for violating the Iran nuclear
agreement and call on the administration to re-enter the deal.
Please
also stop supporting the MEK, the fringe Iranian opposition group
that has no legitimate support inside Iran. John Bolton is the MEK’s
biggest cheerleader — he’s been paid $180,000 to speak at MEK
events that call for regime change, sanctions, and war with Iran.
Many Iranians criticize the Islamic Republic, but they do not see the
MEK as a legitimate replacement for the regime. Please stop
supporting this group and instead bring forward legislation that

ernstig de situatie rond Venezuela ook is…..
Alsof ze een naïeve nieuwsvolger doet Johnstone haar verhaal en met slimme
oplossingen voor de humanitaire hulp uit de VS, laat ze zien hoe

kennen dat zij volop bezig waren met het verspreiden van humanitaire
hulpgoederen in Venezuela en daarbij NB werden geholpen door het
Venezolaanse leger!!
Het
blijkt nu zelfs dat de VS liegt over de humanitaire goederen die het
voor de grens met Venezuela heeft staan, er zouden zich medicijnen
tussen de hulpgoederen bevinden….. Eén dikke vette leugen: zelfs volgens de lijsten van
USAID, die deze hulpgoederen in de VS gereed maakt voor verscheping, staan geen
medicijnen vermeld!!
De hulp
die in Venezuela wordt verstrekt is 20 keer zo groot als de
hoeveelheid hulpgoederen die de VS klaar heeft staan…* ‘Je moet wel een beest zijn’, als je humanitaire hulp verstrekt die 20 keer zo groot is dan de hulp uit de VS, die je het volk onthoudt, daar zoals gezegd in eerdere levering wapens werden aangetroffen tussen de humanitaire hulp uit de VS……

adding, get this, “Now is the time to act in support of democracy
and in response to the needs of the Venezuelan people.”

Let’s
all take a moment to collect ourselves after receiving this shocking,
shocking, astonishing news. If you are hyperventilating, I recommend
breathing into a paper bag and envisioning yourself strolling on a
tropical beach arm in arm with a Berlin-era David Bowie.
As
it turns out (and who could have predicted this?), all that posturing
by the United States government about “humanitarian aid” seems to
have been a cynical ploy to further escalate against the Venezuelan
government, which has been a longtime CIA target for regime
change ever
since President Hugo Chávez took office in
1999. It may be time to face the cold, stark possibility that, as
hard as it is to fathom, the government of the United States of
America is interested in Venezuela not for humanitarian reasons at
all, but because it has the single
largest proven oil reserves of
any nation on the entire planet.
After
all, if the US were so keen on getting its $20 million of
humanitarian aid to the people of Venezuela, it could simply have
given that shipment to one of the many nations that Venezuela is
currently accepting aid from like
Russia, China, India, Turkey or Cuba to deliver instead of
instigating a hostile stand-off on Colombian and Brazilian border
towns. Or, rather than demanding that a literally
besieged government passively
allow large, unexamined shipping containers to be delivered by the
government orchestrating that siege into the hands of the Venezuelan
faction that is collaborating with it, they could simply have given
that shipment to the UN or the Red Cross for delivery. But rather
than taking those extremely easy and diplomatically simple measures
to deliver its relatively small amount of humanitarian aid to the
Venezuelan people, the most difficult and provocative path was
deliberately taken instead, with some extremely
suspicious activity leading
to the delivery
being set fire to by

using humanitarian aid as a pretext to ship weapons to oppositional
militia groups would make it impossible for Maduro to permit such a
delivery? Is it possible that they knew that the official US State
Department narrative about this rejection would be uncritically
regurgitated verbatim as absolute fact by the news media outlets of
the US-centralized empire, as such events consistently are?
I
know it sounds crazy, but might it just possible that all this
Venezuela business is actually about resource control and regional
dominance in a strategically crucial location which might otherwise
favor US geopolitical opponents like Russia, China and Cuba? What if
the US government and its tight empire-like international alliance
uses its massive power advantage to bide its time slowly squeezing
non-compliant nations into submission using economic sieges and
covert disruption operations by intelligence agencies, while
manipulating the public narrative to ensure the complicity of the
international community, until those non-compliant governments
collapse under the pressure and either join the empire-like alliance
or plunge into chaos which can be easily capitalized upon? Could it
be that this is all just a ploy to shore up control of world affairs
by a dominant group of extremely powerful corporate and financial
manipulators who exert immense control over political and financial
systems, markets, non-government organizations, opaque government
agencies, and media around the world?

Trump
Administration Threatens Families Of Venezuelan Military
“Today,
President Trump presented Venezuela’s military officers with a
choice – work for a democratic future for all Venezuelans or see
the financial circle close for their families and loved
ones,” tweeted US
National Security Advisor John Bolton today following a Miami speech
by the president.
If
you know anything about John Bolton, you just know he typed “noose”
first instead of “circle”.
This
would be the same John Bolton, for the record, who once threatened to
murder an international official’s children for obstructing his
attempts to manufacture support for the Iraq invasion which killed a
million human beings and plunged the region into terrorism and
chaos. A man named José Bustani was the director-general of
the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) in
early 2002, during which time The
Intercept reports he
came under fire for having too much success in diplomacy with the
Iraqi government, which undermined the case for an invasion. So
Bolton attempted to scare him off.
From The
Intercept:
“Cheney
wants you out,” Bustani recalled Bolton saying, referring to the
then-vice president of the United States. “We can’t accept your
management style.”
Bolton
continued, according to Bustani’s recollections: “You have 24
hours to leave the organization, and if you don’t comply with this
decision by Washington, we have ways to retaliate against you.”
There
was a pause.
“We
know where your kids live. You have two sons in New York.”
And
now we see this same psychopath threatening to starve and impoverish
the families of a sovereign nation’s military with economic warfare
if they don’t facilitate a coup by the most violent government on
earth in the most oil-rich nation on the planet. All in the name of
spreading Freedom and Democracy™, of course.
Today, President Trump presented Venezuela’s military officers with a choice – work for a democratic future for all Venezuelans or see the financial circle close for their families and loved ones.
Bolton,
who was in attendance at the president’s speech, gave a more direct
and honest summary of what was happening than the one Trump’s
speechwriters fed him:
“We
seek a peaceful transition of power, but all options are open,”
Trump said of the US-led Venezuela coup agenda. “We want to restore
Venezuelan democracy, and we believe that the Venezuelan military and
its leadership have a vital role to play in this process. If you
choose this path, you have an opportunity to help forge a safe and
prosperous future for all of the people of Venezuela. Or you can
choose the second path: continuing to support Maduro. If you choose
this path, you will find no safe harbor, no easy exit, and no way
out. You will lose everything.”
This
would be the same President Trump, for the record, who just hours
earlier tweeted
about “an
illegal coup attempt on the President of the United States,”
regarding statements
made by
former Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe that there had been
discussions among top officials at the Justice Department and
the FBI about possibly using the 25th Amendment to remove Trump from
office. This same man who is outraged about an attempt to oust him
early on in his administration using laws and bureaucracy has no
qualms about ousting the government of a sovereign nation
using starvation
sanctions, CIA
ops,
an aggressive campaign to delegitimize Maduro, and now outright
threats to the nation’s military personnel.
“Then
the president talked about Venezuela. That’s the country we should
be going to war with, he said. They have all that oil and they’re
right on our back door. He continued on, rambling and spitballing
about whatever came to mind.”
I
am sure that McCabe is as much of a deceitful sleaze as every other
FBI boss, but that part at least sounds truthful.
Page 136 of McCabe’s new book, recounting a 2017 Oval Office meeting: “Then the president talked about Venezuela. That’s the country we should be going to war with, he said. They have all that oil and they’re right on our back door.”
For
the rest of Trump’s speech he very tediously introduced all his
loyal sycophants backing his Venezuela agendas, he bloviated
repeatedly about the horrible horrifying terror of socialism, he kept
referring to Venezuela’s elected leader as “Dictator Maduro”
and some rando that fewer
than one in five Venezuelans had even heard of until
last month as “President Guaidó”, he tossed out nonsensical red
herrings about Venezuela being controlled by Cuba, and he repeated
his administration’s braindead talking point about the Venezuelan
government refusing to let in US “humanitarian aid”, which the
Red Cross, the UN, and even war-happy NPR** recognize
as a transparent ploy to foment regime change.
These
are the people you’re meant to believe are the “good guys”
coming to the rescue, America. The guys who threaten to kill the
families of officials if they aren’t given their way. The guys who
threaten to starve the families of military officials who don’t
turn on their government and kill anyone who tries to stop them. The
guys who pick mass
murder facilitator Elliott
Abrams to spearhead Venezuela’s transition to Freedom and
Democracy™. The guys who helped murder a million Iraqis and plunge
us into a new era of military expansionism and Orwellian
surveillance. Those guys.
Sometimes
it’s hard to say what’s more frustrating: the fact that these
deadly imperialist regime change power grabs keep happening, or the
fact that people keep buying the same tired old stories that are used
to sell them.

MintPressNews (MPN) bracht gisteren een artikel van Alexander Rubinstein
waarin deze het nieuws bracht (althans nieuws voor mij) dat er 8
huurlingen, waarvan 5 uit vooral de VS werken voor de president en de
regering van Haïti, hoewel verdere berichtgeving over verschillende
aantallen spreekt. Voorts zou er een Serviër zijn opgepakt, dat laatste is
van belang daar journalisten Max Blumenthal en Dan Cohen onlangs
ontdekten dat de door de VS ingezette Venezolaanse couppleger Guaidó
werd opgeleid in Servië…….
De
politie pakte deze huurlingen op terwijl zij wapens,
munitie, communicatieapparatuur, drones en voertuigen transporteerden…….
MPN trok
onlangs een vergelijking tussen het Gele Hesjes protest in Frankrijk
en de protesten in Haïti, daar de protesten in Frankrijk begonnen na
de melding dat de energieprijzen omhoog zouden gaan…. Beide
protesten gingen ook in tegen het bevoordelen van de welgestelden en
het afknijpen van het grootste deel van de bevolking, voorts trad de politie in beide
gevallen uiterst gewelddadig op tegen de
demonstranten……
Je zou
denken, gezien de situatie in Venezuela dat de VS wel aan de kant van
de Haïtiaanse demonstranten zal staan, daar de VS maar niet kan
ophouden over de armoede in Venezuela* en zich daarbij achter de demonstranten heeft geschaard, maar nee beste bezoeker, de
VS kan het prima vinden met de regering en president Jovenel
Moïse in Haïti en de opgepakte huurlingen zouden werkzaam zijn geweest voor een
veiligheidsonderdeel van de speciale paleis politie…… Ofwel zij
moeten meehelpen om de grote protesten neer te slaan, protesten die
al meer dan 10 dagen lang aanhouden in Haïti, maar volgens de Haïti Information Project (HIP) worden deze huurlingen vooral ingezet om politieke tegenstanders uit

Arrested in Haiti Transporting Weapons Cache Amid Uprising
(MPN) — Even
as U.S. President Donald Trump seeks to inspire a military coup
against the elected president of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, evidence
is mounting that the U.S. government is enabling American mercenaries
to violently quell a popular uprising in Haiti.

News previously examined the
parallels between the uprising in Haiti and the Yellow Vest movement
in France: both explicitly take aim at the economic oligarchy and
government austerity policies; both have been the subject of violent
crackdowns by the police; and the governments of both countries have
gotten a free pass from Washington and its sympathetic media.
Five
Americans and three others were arrested in Haiti on Sunday after
they were discovered transporting a cache of weapons. Haitians have
been engaged in an all-out uprising against the government for the
past 10 days.
Earlier
this month, MintPress
Newsreported on
an arms shipment from the United States uncovered by Venezuelan
authorities. Later, it was revealed that
the plane that transported the weapons was linked to the Central
Intelligence Agency.
Now,
in Haiti, which has been in an all-out uprising for the past 10 days
against corruption and fuel prices, another cache of arms has been
discovered with its own links to the U.S. Haitian police reportedly
arrested five Americans, one Serb, one Russian, and one Haitian who
were heavily armed on Sunday, though conflicting reports indicate
that six or seven Americans and one Serb were arrested, however.

of what are believed to be some of their passports viewed online

News include
multiple American ones and one from the Republic of Serbia. As
journalists Dan Cohen and Max Blumenthal recently
uncovered,
Juan Guaidó, the leader of the U.S.-backed coup in Venezuela, was
trained in Serbia.

Video of 7 US citizens and a Haitian being held at main police station in downtown PAP, #Haiti. They were detained after a cache of automatic weapons, communications equipment and several license plates were found in their vehicles. Why they were stopped is unknown.
For
nearly two weeks, Haitians have been taking to the streets, vowing to
continue protesting until President Joven Moise vacates his office.
Like the Yellow Vests in France, the intense protests seem aimed at
neoliberal austerity policies. Similarly, the Venezuelan opposition
now headed by Juan Guaidó promises to
usher in neoliberal shock remedies.
According
to the Haiti Information Project, a number of Haitians believe the
arrested men are “part of a team of mercenaries hired by Joven
Moise and working with [The General Security Unit of the National
Palace special police unit] to extinguish protests.” According to
the online publication Vedeth —
which appears, like the majority of Haitians, to be pro-opposition —
President
Jovenel Moise has brought home mercenaries to assassinate not only a
desperate people who are clamoring for his resignation by
demonstrating peacefully but especially his political opponents.”
Haitians
have complained about heavily armed foreign mercenaries patrolling in
the capital, Port-au-Prince.

The
country, like its neighbor to the south, Venezuela, is in the throes
of a hard-hitting economic crisis. But while the U.S. meddling
machine has found a cause for concern in Venezuela, it is perfectly
happy with Haiti’s leadership as it puts down unrest in the country
with shocking violence.
President
Trump’s Venezuela regime-change deputy, John Bolton, issued a
condemnatory statement, but it was, unsurprisingly, aimed at the
opposition.
I met with Haitian Foreign Minister @BocchitEdmond yesterday to express the United States’ enduring support for and friendship with Haiti. We urge all of Haiti’s political actors to respect and protect their democracy, engage in dialogue, and put an end to the political violence.
A
Tale of Two Uprisings: Washington’s astroturfed nation-building
from Venezuela to Haiti
In
an article entitled “Haiti’s Unfolding Revolution Is Directly
Linked to Venezuela’s,” journalist and author Kim Ives, who
focuses on Haiti, highlights even more parallels between the nations.
Ives examines the history of U.S. involvement with the two countries,
revealing political dynamics that inform Washington’s hostility
towards Venezuela’s leadership and its open embrace of Haiti’s.
Ives
returns to the 1990 election of anti-imperialist Jean-Bertrand
Aristide, whose victory followed a period in which Haitians were
subjected to “fierce repressesion, massacres, a bogus election, and
three coups d’état.”
The
U.S. fomented a coup attempt one year after Aristide’s victory, and
another in 2004. This Ives compares to the 2002 coup attempt against
Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez, who was elected in 1998.
In
a bid to foster stronger alliances against U.S. aggression, Chavez
leveraged Venezuela’s unrivaled oil reserves, starting the
PetroCaribe Alliance in 2005. The program saw Venezuela offering
extremely generous deals on petroleum products to friendly
governments.
“Aristide’s
successor and ally, René Préval, attempted to take Venezuela up on
the deal on his first day in office — to Washington’s
consternation. Two years later, Washington made sure to punish him,”
Ives wrote. He continued:
Following
the Jan. 12, 2010 earthquake, the Pentagon, State Department, and
then-head of the Interim Haiti Recovery Commission Bill Clinton, with
some flunkies from the Haitian elite, virtually took over the Haitian
government.”
It
was basically downhill for Haiti from there. The U.S. puppet leaders
tanked the government’s PetroCaribe account “which had basically
kept Haiti afloat since its creation in 2008.” In the years since,
huge sums have completely disappeared or been embezzled.
the connection between uprisings in Haiti and unrest in Venezuela is being severely under-discussed. both are results of US imperialist meddling, and the corruption which Haitians are protesting revolves around embezzlement of Venezuela’s PetroCaribe oil subsidies.
The
post-Préval government that began with the presidency of singer
Michel Martelly, who campaigned after the disastrous earthquake in
2010 on a promise to restore the military after it was abolished by
Aristide, continues its line of succession through President Moise,
whom Martelly endorsed.
Within
his first year in office after what was described as
an “electoral coup,” Moise ended the Haitian government’s
PetroCaribe deal. Accordingly, the International Monetary Fund (IMF)
told him raise gas prices, which he then tried to do. That led to a
popular uprising last year, which forced him to reverse the decision.

leaked U.S. military documents list the IMF and World Bank
organization as “Financial Instruments and Diplomatic Instruments
of U.S. National Power.”
After
Haiti voted in early January, at a conference of the Organization of
American States, to declare Venezuelan President Maduro
“illegitimate,” it was the “straw that broke the camel’s
back.”
The
deep solidarities between the people of Venezuela and Haiti, Ives
argued, inspired Haitians to rise up and refuse to allow Washington
to pit their neighbors against them.

Iran zou Israël bedreigen en van de aarde willen vegen, waar Israël NB een atoommacht is met minstens 100 kernraketten… ha! ha! ha! ha! ha!
Intussen verdedigen protestantse
evangelisten in de VS niet alleen de vele misdaden van Israël, maar stellen dat Trump door god is aangewezen als
president die de terugkomst van jezus moet voorbereiden…… ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Ja ik lach wel, maar deze gekken, hebben macht over miljoenen VS burgers en een groot aantal politici, zij zorgen er tevens voor dat men in de VS achter de bloedige fascistische apartheidsstaat Israël blijft staan……..
Tijdens de conferentie in Warschau werd Iran aangewezen als terreur exporteur, een land dat volgens drie
ruiters van de apocalyps, Mike Pence, VS vicepresident, VS (on)veiligheidsadviseur Bolton en de minister van buitenlandse zaken van de VS, Mike Pompeo*,de stabiliteit en vrede op de wereld in gevaar brengt……
ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Deze drie oorlogsmisdadigers zijn NB politici
van de grootste terreurentiteit op aarde, de VS dat sinds 1945
intussen al meer dan 22,5 miljoen mensen heeft vermoord en daarbij

Onbegrijpelijk dat de EU en de andere EU-lidstaten zich met geen woord van kritiek hebben uitgelaten op de stap van Polen deze conferentie toe te laten binnen haar grenzen, nee men was zo dapper om of niemand te sturen, of anders een lage delegatie af te vaardigen…… Het zoveelste teken dat de EU een grote bedreiging vormt voor de democratie, de vrijheid van meningsuiting, voor mensenrechten, voor minderheden en voor volkeren die met illegale oorlogen van het westen te maken zullen krijgen, mochten fascisten (als het bewind in Polen, Hongarije, Roemenië, Italië en Oostenrijk) de grootste fractie binnen de EU worden……

Trump’s people were fulminating in Warsaw against Iranian
‘terrorism’, it was Iran that was the victim of terrorist attacks.
Warsaw,
Poland is not a fun place to visit in darkest February, but that is
where the US just staged an anti-Iranian jamboree of 60 client states
that brought derision and scorn from Europeans and much of the
Mideast.
The
point of this cynical exercise was to lay the diplomatic groundwork
for an anti-Iranian coalition to act as a fig-leaf for an upcoming
attack on Iran planned by President Donald Trump and his close ally,
Israel’s Benjamin Netanyahu.
The
real question is who is calling the shots in bleak Warsaw, Trump or
Bibi Netanyahu? It seems to many that the Israeli tail is again
wagging the American dog.
This
is thanks to the power of America’s born-again evangelicals,
hoodwinked into believing that a Greater Israel is somehow a key part
of the Second Coming of Christ.
A
Fox News poll this week finds that a quarter of these credulous folks
believe that God actually summoned Donald Trump to become president.
This may even be more than the number of Americans who believe that
Elvis is still alive. More proof that the Republicans have pretty
much become a theological party.
The
three horseman of the hard right Republican Apocalypse, Vice
president Mike Pence, Insecurity advisor John Bolton, and State
Secretary Mike Pompeo (who reportedly keeps an open bible on his
desk) joined their voices to the Warsaw jamboree to excoriate Iran
for being a ‘sponsor of terrorism,’ and a danger to world peace
and stability.
The
never understated Bibi Netanyahu, whose nation has at least 100
nuclear weapons, claimed Iran, which has no nukes and feeble armed
forces, was planning a ‘second Holocaust’ for Israel.
An
over-excited Netanyahu even tweeted that the Warsaw meeting was
preparing for `war with Iran.’ He was forced to retract his tweet.
But he did get to sit next to the delegate from war-torn Yemen, a
stooge put into place by the Saudis and Emiratis whose aggression
against Yemen has so far cost hundreds of thousands of lives, mass
starvation and epidemics.
This
week a newly energized US House of Representatives voted for an end
to their nation’s support for the Saudi-led war in the Mideast’s
poorest nation. The Senate, still controlled by Republican Crusaders,
will be likely to vote down the sensible House proposal.
Another
participant at Warsaw was the largest Arab nation, Egypt. This nation
just extended the rule of its military dictator, Field Marshall
al-Sisi, to 2034. It was Sisi, backed by Saudi money, who overthrew
Egypt’s first democratic government in history, killing and jailing
thousands.
In
a slap in the face to Washington, Europe’s leaders, France, Germany
and the European Union government, either refused to attend the
Warsaw hate-fest against Iran or sent low-level paper-passers.
Ironically,
while Trump’s people were fulminating against Iranian ‘terrorism,’
it was Iran that was the victim of terrorist attacks. An attack from
a Pakistan-based Sunni Jaish al-Adl extremist group linked to the CIA
killed 27 soldiers and wounded a similar number. Iran has been the
target of constant attacks since its 1979 revolution by groups linked
to the US, and from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and other US regional
vassals. Trump’s lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, is even a long-term
lobbyist for the hyper-violent Marxist Iranian extremist group, the
MEK which was even branded a ‘terrorist group’ by the US
government.
The
Warsaw jamboree was also supposed to set the stage for Trump’s much
ballyhooed Mideast ‘peace’ plan. Run by son-in-law Jared Kushner,
the full plan is expected to be released in April, right after
Israeli elections. It will likely consist of trying to buy off
Palestinian land claims with US taxpayer money and some cash from the
Saudis. America’s Arab client states in the region will all provide
polite applause.
The
Warsaw jamboree produced no evident results and left the US even more
isolated than
before. Europe is moving ahead with a financial
mechanism to permit trade with Iran that circumvents US sanctions. US
intelligence itself reports that Iran is not working in nuclear
weapons. Europe wants to trade with Iran.
America’s
anti-Iran campaign has just suffered another blow. This after
Washington badly damaged relations with China and Canada over the
arrest of the daughter in Vancouver of the founder of Huawei over
charges it traded with Iran. Most non-Americans view this as an
outrage. But the later-day Crusaders around Trump don’t seem to
care that they are damaging America’s reputation and making a mess
of its foreign policy.

De meer
dan psychopathische geriatrisch patiënt Bolton vond het afgelopen week
wel een mooi gebaar om Iran middels een videoboodschap te
‘feliciteren’ met de 40ste verjaardag van de Iraanse revolutie……
Echter geen lovende woorden zoals je waarschijnlijk al begrepen had,
nee Bolton hield de Iraanse regering voor dat het snel afgelopen zal
zijn met het vieren van feest over de revolutie van 1979……
Weer
herhaalde Bolton zijn immense leugen dat Iran bezig is een kernwapen
te ontwikkelen, ondanks dat de IAEA, het Atoomagentschap in Wenen en
zelfs de geheime diensten van de VS stellen dat dit pertinent niet
het geval is……… Ach ja, wat verwacht je van een psychopathische
geriatrisch patiënt??!!!
In het
hieronder opgenomen artikel, geschreven door Jake Johnson, stelt hij
dat Bolton het tot zijn persoonlijke kruistocht heeft gemaakt (mijn
woorden, Ap) een oorlog tegen Iran te ontketenen, nog voordat Trump het Witte Huis verlaat…… Ik vrees dat Johnson gelijk heeft…….

Bolton Issues Not-So-Veiled Threat of War in Creepy Video Message to
Iran

As Iranians this week mark the 40th anniversary of their country’s
1979 revolution, President Donald Trump’s national security adviser
John Bolton declared in a message to Iranian leaders on Monday that
he doesn’t think they will “have many more anniversaries to
enjoy”—a comment that was immediately perceived as a direct
threat of war.
In video posted
to the White House’s official Twitter page on Monday, Bolton echoed
false assertions and repeatedly debunked claims by the Trump that
Iran is pursuing nuclear weapons and described the Iranian government
as the “central banker of international terrorism.”
Responding
to Bolton’s video, Sen. Chris Murphy warned in
a tweet on Tuesday that Trump’s hawkish national security adviser
is knowingly lying to build momentum for a U.S. military attack on
Iran.
“Here
Bolton says Iran is seeking nuclear weapons. This simply isn’t
true. The intelligence says the opposite and he knows it,” Murphy
wrote. “He is laying the groundwork for war and we all must be
vigilant.”

Flipping
the White House’s claim that the Iranian Revolution has resulted in
“40
years of failure,”
Javad Zarif—Iran’s foreign minister—declared in a tweet on
Monday, “After 40 years of wrong choices, [it is] time for Donald
Trump to rethink failed U.S. policy.”
Bolton’s
assertion that Iran is currently pursuing nuclear weapons contradicts
the findings of both the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)
and the Trump administration’s top intelligence officials, who just
last month concluded that
“Iran is not currently undertaking the key nuclear
weapons-development activities we judge necessary to produce a
nuclear device.”
“John
Bolton’s claim that ‘Iran continues to seek nuclear weapons’ is
another bald-faced lie,” said Ryan
Costello, policy director at the National Iranian American Council.
“He clearly wants a war before Trump leaves office and shouldn’t
be underestimated.”
As Common
Dreamsreported last
month, Bolton in 2018 called on the Pentagon to provide the Trump
White House with “military options” to launch a strike on Iran.
The Pentagon reportedly
complied with
Bolton’s request, but it is unclear whether the requested
information ever reached Trump.
William
Hartung, director of the Arms and Security Project at the Center for
International Policy (ASPCIP), concluded on
Tuesday that “we need to be speaking out early and often against
the administration’s push for regime change in Iran.”

Gistermiddag op BBC World Service radio, na 17.00 u. (CET) o.a. aandacht voor de situatie in Venezuela.
De presentator kondigde een correspondent aan, met de naam Rafael Abozabi, althans dat verstond ik, maar kan de naam verder niet terugvinden op de BBC website.
Deze Rafael begon te vertellen dat “We are hearing and seeing on the streets that the Venezolan people support the opposition”, waarna deze figuur nog een enorm aantal demonstranten noemde……
Lullig alleen dat de presentator al had gezegd dat Rafael op dat moment in Miami zat…… ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Begrijp je meteen de waarde van de BBC ‘fact checkers’, de BBC waar men de vuilbek vol heeft over fake news (nepnieuws) en andere desinformatie……
Alsof er niets is gebeurd de afgelopen dagen en bijvoorbeeld het Rode Kruis en de VN de VS niet hebben opgeroepen te stoppen met haar walgelijk pr-stunt, kwam Rafael met een lul verhaal dat men ging kijken hoe de humanitaire hulp verdeeld kan worden…… De VN en het Rode Kruis hebben een paar dagen geleden verklaard dat er humanitaire hulp aan Venezuela wordt geleverd en dat het leger en vrijwilligers goed meewerken om deze te verspreiden onder de bevolking…..*
Ook het gelul dat Venezuela een brug zou hebben geblokkeerd om hulpgoederen uit de VS tegen te houden, was een smerige leugen, deze brug is niet in gebruik genomen nadat deze in 2015 werd afgebouwd….*
Het viel me nog mee dat de presentator toegaf dat niet iedere politicus achter de plannen van Trump en Bolton staat. Hoewel men even later alleen een voorstander liet horen die het woord deed tijdens een zitting van het House Committee over de situatie in Venezuela….. Heb nog wat langer geluisterd, daar men beloofde terug te keren naar die zitting als er weer wat belangrijks werd gezegd en jawel hoor, even later nog een voorstander van ingrijpen, met een groot aantal leugens over Maduro en Venezuela in het bijzonder, leugens die de BBC ‘belangrijk genoeg’ vond om voor de honderdduizendste keer te herhalen………..
De BBC heeft niets meer van doen met onafhankelijkheid, het is vooringenomen, partijdig en aarzelt niet de boel aan elkaar te liegen, mocht dat nodig zijn, waarbij fake news en manipulatie de wapens zijn waarmee de argeloze luisteraar wordt bestookt……… Kortom; de BBC is verworden tot een propagandazender voor illegale oorlogen en staatsgrepen tegen soevereine landen, voorts ondersteund de BBC de huidige neoliberale status quo, precies wat haar subsidiegever verwacht….. Oh wie die subsidiegever is? De oorlogsmisdadige en verder uiterst inhumane regering May!
