Mosul gruwelen op video, volgens BBC nog net niet nep…………..

Hoorde gisteravond op BBC World Service radio (rond 18.20 u. CET) nog net een staart van een bericht over een video uit West-Mosul, die wereldwijd veel beroering teweeg heeft gebracht, althans volgens een BBC verslaggever. Het gaat over beelden van op straat en een op een markt liggende lijken van mannen, vrouwen en kinderen, plus de gebombardeerde gebouwen waarin zich ten tijde van het bombardement veel burgers bevonden

Kon uit het gesprek niet opmaken of het hier ging om een video die door IS werd gemaakt, maar gezien het commentaar van de verslaggever, zou dit wel het geval moeten zijn. Zocht een uur later op de webpagina van BBC World Service, maar kont niets over dit onderwerp vinden, althans niet van diezelfde dag.

Volgens de BBC verslaggever is er heel veel leed van de bewoners te zien op de video. Voorts zou volgens de video het doelwit van de VS luchtmacht, vooral de burgerbevolking zijn en niet de militaire versterkingen van IS.

De verslaggever stelde dat deze video waarschijnlijk werd gemaakt, om de bombardementen van de VS te doen stoppen……. Met andere woorden, anti-VS propaganda, om de westerse opinie te beïnvloeden……

Dit terwijl de VS heeft toegegeven dat er mogelijk een groot aantal burgerslachtoffers te betreuren zijn, door VS bombardementen, maarrrrr….. dat is de schuld van IS, die burgers als schild gebruiken……

Wat een verschil met Aleppo beste lezer, toen werd elke bom die viel, vertaald als een directe heftige oorlogsmisdaad van de Russen en het Syrische leger……. Dit terwijl deze partijen de luchtbombardementen op Oost-Aleppo al in oktober 2016 stopten, waar de stad pas in december volledig werd bevrijd van het psychopathische moordend en verkrachtend tuig…….* Met andere woorden: de VS (coalitie) had allang moeten stoppen met het bombarderen van het dicht bevolkte Oost-Mosul, dat voor een groot deel bestaat uit dicht op elkaar gepakte huizen……..

Nog steeds is de hysterie groot over de bevrijding van Oost-Aleppo, terwijl men niets van de vreselijke oorlogsmisdaden kan bewijzen met duidelijk beeldmateriaal en/of betrouwbare getuigen. Sterker nog een organisatie als het Syrische Observatorium voor Mensenrechten (SOHR), wordt door de reguliere westerse media nog steeds als betrouwbare bron geciteerd. Terwijl deze organisatie uit Coventry (Engeland) bestaat uit 1 man, een gewezen Syrische misdadiger, die bewezen een enorm aantal nep berichten de wereld in heeft geholpen…… Als bron gebruikt deze figuur dan ook de gesproken getuigenissen van de eerder genoemde ‘gematigde rebellen’ en de intussen als Al Qaida aanhang ontmaskerde ‘White Helmets…’

Het maakt eens te meer duidelijk, dat de reguliere westerse media en politiek aan de leiband van de VS lopen en een in feite veel ernstiger zaak (in vergelijking met de bevrijding van Oost-Aleppo) afdoen als niet te voorkomen bijkomende schade…………

(ANTIWAR) Facing
growing criticism over an attack earlier this month that killed
hundreds of civilians in Mosul, the Pentagon today confirmed that it
has video footage of ISIS forcing hundreds of civilians into the
destroyed buildings, which they presented
as “provoking the attack.”

While
this is designed to shift some of the blame away from the Pentagon
for bombing buildings full of civilians, it appears to actually do
the exact opposite: it
confirms that the Pentagon knew before the attacks that those
buildings were full of civilians, and attacked them anyhow.

ISIS
has long been criticized for pushing civilians around and forcing
them into various areas, but the fact that civilians were being
forced into buildings does not prove that the buildings were of any
specific value as a target in the first place, and the Pentagon’s
assertion appears to be that putting civilians in there amounted to
making the buildings a more tempting target in and of itself.

The
huge civilian death toll of the US strikes has been condemned by
several human rights groups, unsurprisingly, but the Pentagon’s
narrative has rapidly changed from denial, to sheepish admission of
“probable” guilt, and now to outright defiance over the fact that
they killed so many people.

VS dropt honderden parachutisten in Mosul……..

Volgens Antiwar (via Anti-Media) zendt de VS voor de zoveelste keer ‘tijdelijk’ honderden militairen extra naar Irak, dit keer parachutisten voor de strijd in West-Mosul. Tijdelijk tussen aanhalingstekens, daar deze extra troepen, keer op keer niet worden teruggetrokken en het Pentagon op deze manier de regering kan omzeilen voor deze inzet. Al zal de regering Trump hoogstwaarschijnlijk geen problemen hebben met de aanwas van VS troepen in Irak.

Deze extra militairen zouden zijn bedoeld om te ‘adviseren en te assisteren……’ Deze woorden worden keer op keer gebruikt om te verdoezelen, dat ze wel degelijk deel zullen nemen aan de gevechten…… Gevreesd moet dan ook worden, dat de strijd in Mosul verder zal escaleren….. ‘Gevreesd’ voor de bewoners wel te verstaan, want hoe groot de opgeklopte hysterie ook was over de bevrijding door de Russen en het reguliere Syrische leger van het Syrische Oost-Aleppo, in Mosul gaat men veel harder tekeer….

Zo heeft de ‘Irak-coalitie’ (in feite een VS-coalitie) al een enorm aantal burgers vermoord in en rond Mosul, o.a. middels luchtbombardementen, waar de Russen en het Syrische leger al een paar maanden voor de bevrijding van Oost-Aleppo stopten met deze bombardementen. Kijk daar hoor je de westerse politici en reguliere afhankelijke westerse massamedia niet over, ‘logisch’ immers ‘alles wat de VS doet is goed……’

Je kan er donder opzeggen, dat deze troepen gebruikt zullen worden om na Mosul, in Syrië te vechten tegen het democratisch gekozen* regime Assad……. Assad zal en moet weg in de visie van de VS, waarna Syrië moet worden opgedeeld, zoals ook Joegoslavië werd opgedeeld, men spreekt dan ook van de ‘balkanisering’ van Syrië…….

Die balkanisering is -goed voor de fascistische apartheidsstaat Israël (die keer op keer volkomen illegaal Syrische stellingen van het leger bombardeert. Stellingen tegen de ‘gematigde rebellen’, lees: psychopathische moordenaars en verkrachters), -goed voor de reli-fascistische staat Turkije, -goed voor de olie en gas maffia (men wil een pijpleiding aanleggen, die moet lopen van de Golfstaten over het gebied van Syrië, richting Noordwest-Europa) en -natuurlijk goed voor het militair-industrieel complex……..

Hoogstwaarschijnlijk zet de VS voor de strijd in Irak en m.n. Mosul al langere tijd ook huurlingen van organisaties als Blackwater in (huurlingen die onder en boven de wet staan), zoals dat al eerder gebeurde in dit land……..

To Send Hundreds of Paratroopers Into Mosul

(ANTIWAR) On
Sunday, reports
began emerging that the Pentagon was intending to
send more combat troops into western Mosul, the latest in a long line
of escalations of US military involvement in the battle over Mosul,
with an eye toward getting Iraq’s stalled offensive back on track.

Yesterday,
the Military Times finally got the specifics of the deployment, with
officials saying that two infantry companies and a route-clearance
platoon will be sent to Mosul, paratroopers
numbers somewhere around 300 fighters,
which will officially be labeled an “advise and assist”
operation.

And
a “temporary” deployment. Officials have labeled thousands of the
ground troops in Iraq as “temporary” to avoid putting them in the
official count of how many US troops are deployed to Iraq, even
though in this case, as in so many others, there is no specific
deadline for ending the deployment.

Officially,
there are 5,262 US troops in Iraq, and that number won’t change, no
matter how many more troops are sent. The real figure is well over
6,000 already, and not well documented, as the “temporary” troops
are excluded from any official counts.

Giro 555: honger en oorlog in Jemen: waarom worden Saoedi-Arabië, de VS en GB niet aan de paal genageld wegens enorme oorlogsmisdaden???

Het kan u niet ontgaan zijn: vandaag is de landelijke actie voor noodhulp aan hongerende mensen in o.a Somalië, Noordoost-Nigeria, Zuid-Soedan en Jemen.

Veel gelul op de radio over de oorzaken van deze hongersnood, waar terecht wordt gewezen op strijd in die landen, dit in combinatie met klimatologische omstandigheden als droogte.

Lullig toch, dat men wat betreft Jemen keer op keer stelt, dat daar een burgeroorlog gaande is, terwijl de strijd voor het overgrote deel wordt gevoerd door Saoedi-Arabië tegen de Houthi’s, puur en alleen daar de Houthi’s sjiieten zijn en de Saoediërs soennieten…….

De Houthi’s gooiden pas echt hun kont tegen de krib, toen terroristen van Al Qaida en IS aanslagen pleegden tegen vooral moskeeën van de sjiieten. Deze 2 terreurgroepen kregen onderdak in Jemen van de intussen (zelf) opgestapte president Al-Hadi. Lange tijd waren de Houthi’s, naast de Koerden in Irak en Syrië, de enige groepen die de terreurgroepen IS en Al Qaida met succes bevochten…… Overigens heeft oud-president Saleh zich aangesloten bij de Houthi’s en een groot deel van het Jemenitische leger vecht aan diezelfde kant.

Al-Hadi trad af en zocht onderdak in Saoedi-Arabië. Onder druk van de reli-fascistische Saoedische dictatuur, riep al-Hadi de hulp in van de Saoediërs en stelde zich daarmee weer aan als rechtmatig president van Jemen……….

Intussen hebben de Saoediërs een enorm aantal oorlogsmisdaden gepleegd in Jemen, waarvan het uithongeren van de bevolking er niet één van de minste is……. ook andere hulpgoederen als medicijnen, water en brandstof zijn door Saoedische en VS blokkades, mondjesmaat voorradig in Jemen.

De aandacht voor de oorlog in Jemen ontbreekt zo ongeveer helemaal in de westerse reguliere massamedia. De reden daarvoor: de goede banden van het westen met de reli-fascistische dictatuur in Saoedi-Arabië…….. Men probeerde overigens de hongersnood in Jemen al zeker een half jaar geleden wereldkundig te maken, maar ja zoals gezegd: men wilde Saoedi-Arabië niet aan de paal nagelen……. Wat dat betreft is er niets veranderd………

De VS voert al jaren standrechtelijke executies middels drones uit in Jemen, voert luchtaanvallen uit op ‘Houthi posities’ (waarbij veel burgerslachtoffers vallen) en heeft sinds een aantal maanden speciale troepen af en aan op Jemenitisch grondgebied. U had waarschijnlijk al begrepen, dat de VS aan de kant van S-A vecht. Voorts leveren de VS en Groot-Brittannië wapens (inclusief clusterbommen van GB…) aan Saoedi-Arabië, dit aangevuld met militaire training………

Waar blijft de waanzinnig disfunctionerende PvdA sufferd Koenders met openlijk commentaar op de enorme oorlogsmisdaden van Saoedi-Arabië, de VS en GB tegen het Jemenitische volk???

Mosul: de VS vermoordt bijna dagelijks grote aantallen burgers, terwijl de reguliere westerse media vooral stil zijn………

Op de alternatieve media gaat er bijna geen dag voorbij, of er wordt gemeld dat er burgers zijn omgekomen bij luchtaanvallen van de VS op Mosul. Vreemd genoeg trekt dit nauwelijks de aandacht van de reguliere westerse media, dit i.t.t. de eerdere bevrijding van Aleppo, toen de westerse massamedia volkomen hysterisch de Russen en het reguliere Syrische leger betichtten van oorlogsmisdaden tegen de burgerbevolking. Let wel: zonder daar ook maar een nanometer bewijs voor te leveren……. Dit terwijl de VS nu toegeeft een aantal bombardementen te hebben uitgevoerd, die burgerslachtoffers ‘zouden hebben kunnen gemaakt……’

De commentaren van organisaties als de Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) werden (en worden) overgenomen door ‘gerespecteerde, onafhankelijke’ mediaorganen als BBC World Service en de NOS……. Dit terwijl de berichten van de SOHR* keer op keer nepnieuws bleken te zijn. Tja, SOHR heeft het reguliere Syrische leger en de Russen meermaals als oorlogsmisdadigers aangewezen en dat was het belangrijkst voor het overgrote deel van de westerse politici en daarmee van de zogenaamde onafhankelijke westerse massamedia…….

Vanmiddag stelde de presentator van het BBC World Service radionieuws (14.00 u. CET) dat de Iraakse regering zo min mogelijk burgerslachtoffers wil maken in Mosul, maar dat dit de ‘laatste dagen niet echt wil lukken…..’ Daar is IS verantwoordelijk voor aldus de regering van Irak……… Alsof die zichzelf bombarderen……… Uiteraard niet een kritisch woord van deze BBC nieuwslezer……. Na het nieuws stelde een verslaggever van de BBC, dat het jammer genoeg niet anders kan, dan dat bij bombardementen (to flatten out that part of Mosul….’) veel doden zullen vallen……

Information Clearing House herhaalde vandaag nog eens, dat het reguliere Syrische leger en de Russen meermaals corridors maakten voor de burgers in Oost-Aleppo, tijdens de bevrijding van dat stadsdeel. Corridors die vervolgens werden beschoten door zogenaamde gematigde rebellen. Ook stopte Rusland al in oktober 2016 met het bombarderen van Oost-Aleppo, dit om zoveel mogelijk burgerslachtoffers te voorkomen. Van al deze zaken is geen sprake in Mosul, men bombardeert doelbewust dichtbevolkte gebieden, zoals het oude centrum………

Echte oorlogscorrespondenten**, stellen dat ze niet worden toegelaten in de door de ‘Irak-coalitie’ (lees: VS coalitie) op IS veroverde gebieden. Ondertussen zijn er toch van deze correspondenten aanwezig in die gebieden, zij lopen het risico ‘per ongeluk’ te worden neergeschoten, ofwel te worden vermoord, door o.a. westerse militairen, die geen pottenkijkers wensen……..

(ANTIWAR) While
Pentagon statements on them insisted everyone killed was an ISIS
fighters, mounting evidence suggests US airstrikes against
the city of Mosul have killed nearly 300 civilians,
with attacks just last week burying over
150 people under the rubble of residential buildings in the city’s
west.

The
Pentagon is promising an investigation, but their track record of
such inquiries does not favor them ever admitting culpability.
Incredibly, however, they have
admitted to the airstrikes that leveled those buildings full of
civilians late
last week, without admitting to the deaths of the civilians.

That
narrative is going to be a difficult one to maintain this time, with
reporters on the scene verifying civilians being pulled from
the wreckage. The Pentagon is clearly already looking for a scapegoat
too, reporting that the strikes on the buildings full of
civilians came
at the request of the Iraqi government.

Of
course, as US officials have confirmed in the past, being asked to
attack civilians isn’t an excuse for having done so, and while
trying to shift the blame to the Iraqi government may be of some use
in the near term, the calamitously large death toll in Mosul is
something the Pentagon isn’t going to be able to readily brush
aside.

Most
Pentagon investigations end with them deciding the death toll is “not
credible” and dropping the matter entirely. This is the reason that
the official US civilian toll in Iraq and Syria during the current
war is less than 10% of the toll reported by independent NGOs like
Airwars.

So
long as the individual incidents were small, the Pentagon was able to
mostly sweep them under the rug. That’s going to be much harder to
do with hundreds of people, many of them women and children, being
killed in such a high-profile incident.

VS drone aanvallen, ofwel standrechtelijke executies (moord) onder Trump met meer dan 400% gestegen………

De VS aanvallen met drones, onder president Obama verworden tot bijna dagelijkse praktijk, zijn onder, de korte tijd dat het beest Trump aan het bewind is, met 432% gestegen, zo berichtte Anti-Media gisteren.

Nobelprijs voor de Vrede winnaar Obama voerde al 10 keer meer drone aanvallen uit, dan onder president George W. Bush werden uitgevoerd, dezelfde Bush die e.e.a. introduceerde……..

Uit onderzoek is duidelijk geworden dat meer dan 90% van de slachtoffers die bij deze aanvallen worden vermoord, omstanders zijn, die niet eens verdacht worden door de VS!! U snapt het al, inclusief vrouwen en kinderen……. Dat ‘verdacht’ gaf ik in vet weer, daar de doelen nog altijd verdachten zijn, dus niet door een rechter veroordeelde personen……. Deze vorm van terreur wordt dan ook ‘standrechtelijke executie’ genoemd……….

Overigens uitermate vreemd en schandalig, dat politici als Koenders deze standrechtelijke executies, zoals gezegd een ernstige vorm van terreur, nooit veroordelen. Kijk als Rusland hetzelfde zou doen, waren Koenders rapen allang gaar geweest……..

U.S. Drone Strikes Have Gone Up 432% Since Trump Took Office

(ANTIMEDIA) When
he was in office, former President Barack Obama earned the ire of
anti-war activists for his expansion of Bush’s drone wars. The
Nobel Peace Prize-winning head of state ordered ten
times more drone strikes than
the previous president, and estimates late
in Obama’s presidency showed 49 out of 50 victims were civilians.
In 2015, it was reported that up to 90%
of drone casualties were
not the intended targets.

Current
President Donald Trump campaigned on a less interventionist foreign
policy, claiming to be opposed to nation-building and misguided
invasions. But less than two months into his presidency, Trump has
expanded the drone strikes that plagued Obama’s “peaceful”
presidency.

According
to an analysis from
Micah Zenko, an analyst with the Council on Foreign Relations, Trump
has markedly increased U.S. drone strikes since taking office. Zenko,
who reported earlier
this year on the over 26,000 bombs Obama dropped in 2016, summarized
the increase:

“During
President Obama’s two terms in office, he
approved 542 such
targeted strikes in 2,920 days—one every 5.4 days. From his
inauguration through today, President Trump had approved at least 36
drone strikes or raids in 45 days—one every 1.25 days.”

That’s
an increase of 432 percent.

He
highlights some of the attacks:

“These
include three
drone strikes in Yemen on January 20, 21, and 22;
the January
28 Navy SEAL raid in Yemen; one
reported strike in Pakistan on March 1; more
than thirty strikes in Yemen on
March 2 and 3; and at
least one more on March 6.”

The
Trump administration has provided little acknowledgment of the human
toll these strikes are taking. As journalist Glenn Greenwald noted in
the Intercept,
the Trump administration hastily brushed off recent civilian
casualties in favor of honoring the life of a single U.S. soldier who
died during one of the Yemen raids just days after Trump took office:

“The
raid in Yemen
that cost Owens his life also killed 30 other people, including ‘many
civilians,’ at least
nine of whom were children.
None of them were mentioned by Trump in last night’s speech, let
alone honored with applause and the presence of grieving relatives.
That’s because they were Yemenis, not Americans; therefore, their
deaths, and lives, must be ignored (the only exception was some
fleeting media mention of the 8-year-old daughter of Anwar al-Awlaki,
but only because she was a U.S. citizen and because of the irony
that Obama
killed her 16-year-old American brother with
a drone strike).”

Greenwald
notes this is typical of not just Trump, but the American war machine
in general:

“We
fixate on the Americans killed, learning their names and life stories
and the plight of their spouses and parents, but steadfastly ignore
the innocent people the U.S. government kills, whose numbers are
always far greater.”

Though
some Trump supporters sang his praises as a peace candidate before he
took office, the president’s militarism was apparent on many
occasions. He openly advocated increasing the size and scope of the
military, a promise he is now moving to keep. And as Zenko
highlights, Trump was disingenuous with his rhetoric against
interventionism:

“He
claimed to have opposed the 2003 Iraq War when he actually backed it,
and to have opposed the 2011 Libya intervention when he
actually strongly endorsed it,
including with U.S. ground troops. Yet, Trump and his loyalists
consistently implied that he would be less supportive of costly and
bloody foreign wars, especially when compared to President Obama, and
by extension, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.”

As
Trump continues to dig his heels into decades-old policies he has
criticized himself — reportedly mulling
over sending ground troops into Syria — he is increasingly proving
to be yet another establishment warmonger implementing policies
that spawn
the creation of more terrorists.
As Zenko concludes:

are now on our third post-9/11 administration pursuing many of the
same policies that have failed to meaningfully reduce the number of
jihadist extremist fighters, or their attractiveness among potential

Irak: het dodental in februari 2.748………….. Leve het VS buitenlandbeleid!

Anti-Media berichtte op 1 maart j.l. over het aantal vermoordden, die Irak in februari telde. Het aantal doden, 2.748, was een stuk lager dan in januari, wat te wijten is aan de strijd om Mosul. De Iraakse coalitie (o.l.v. de VS) wist het westerse deel van die stad te ontzetten, waarna de strijd voor een groot deel werd gestaakt, dit om het veroverde gebied verder veilig te stellen. M.a.w. het aantal doden is vooral te vinden in en rond Mosul……. Vreemd genoeg steeg wel het aantal gewonden in februari.

Onder de vermoordde slachtoffers meer dan 500 burgers en meer dan 1.000 gewonde burgerslachtoffers. Waarbij aangetekend moet worden, dat veel burgerslachtoffers niet werden meegeteld, daar ze zijn achtergelaten in gebombardeerde huizen, dan wel haastig zijn begraven op plekken als parken en tuinen. Voorts wordt er gesteld, dat een aantal slachtoffers die tot IS zijn gerekend, in feite burgerslachtoffers zijn…….

Dat laatste houdt in, dat het aantal IS slachtoffers een stuk lager zal zijn. Zeker is, dat de Irak-coalitie het aantal IS slachtoffers uit propaganda standpunt overdrijft……

Weer ‘een mooi resultaat’, na de illegale inval van de VS in 2003, zijn er inmiddels meer dan 1,5 miljoen Irakezen vermoord, door toedoen van de grootste terreurentiteit op aarde >> de VS!! Overigens kreeg de VS veel hulp van andere westerse landen, waaronder Nederland, dat in die illegale oorlog werd gesleept door de oorlogsmisdadigers van het CDA: de Hoop Scheffer en Balkenende, plus VVD’er Kamp….*)…..

(ANTIWAR) During
February, at least 2,748
people were killed and 1,224 were wounded.
This is a large drop from January,
when 4,176 were reported killed and 1,433 were injured. The reduction
is likely due to an extensive break in the fighting in Mosul. After
the eastern half was captured,
Iraqi forces took time to reorganize troops and only resumed fighting
last week.

Analysis:
At least 512 civilians, 174 security personnel, and 2,024 militants
were killed during February. Also killed were one Iranian soldier and
36 Kurdistan Workers Party (P.K.K.) guerrillas. A U.S. servicemember
died in a non-combat-related event as well. As for wounded: 1,003
civilians, 149 security personnel, and 72 militants were reported
injured or sickened (by tear gas) during the month. Several U.S.
servicemembers were also wounded,
but details, including exact numbers, were not released, and they
remain untallied. This brings the totals to 2,748
killed and 1,224 wounded for
February. These numbers are rough estimates. The true casualty
figures could be much higher.

Casualties
among security personnel — including American troops, as seen above
— have been underreported for months. During February,
General Joseph
Votel,
the head of the U.S. Central Command, revealed that
about 500 Iraqi troops were killed, and 3,000 more were wounded
during the first three months of operations in Mosul. Few of these
casualties were reported, and these numbers did not contribute to the
monthly tallies above.

The
number of civilians killed is likely too low as well. There are
reports from Mosul that many civilians are being left to die in their
homes or have been buried hastily in nearby parks and gardens. Some
of the casualties being reported as Islamic State deaths could be
civilians who were in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Militant
deaths, on the other hand, could be too high. There is little to no
independent confirmation of ISIS/Daesh deaths behind the enemy lines,
and there is a clear propaganda benefit to exaggerating the number of
militants killed.

Other
News:
According to the United
Nations,
at least 16,000 people have fled the
recent fighting in western Mosul,
but authorities are unsure of the number of Islamic State militants
hiding among them.
However, many of the militants they are encountering are foreign
fighters,
who should be easily distinguishable from the Iraqi population.


Prime
Minister Haider
al-Abadi visited
Wasit University in Kut on
Tuesday but was met with protests that turned
violent.
The demonstrators were recorded chanting slogans popular with
followers of Shi’ite cleric Muqtada
al-Sadr.
Sadr later apologized to the premier, stressing that Abadi is not
involved in the corruption the Sadrists are targeting. At least 97
were killed and 75 more were wounded in
the latest violence:

In Kut,
about 70
protesters were injured.
Three among them were shot, and 50 were sickened by
tear gas.

In Mosul, 31
people were killed in
a mortar attack on the Tayaran neighborhood.
Security forces killed
18 militants in Wadi
Hajar and Mamoun.

An
I.E.D. killed
eight militiamen in Alam.

In Baghdad,
blasts on a playing field in Shuhada killed
one person and wounded four more. Two
people were wounded by
a bomb in Bab
al-Sham.

Sixteen
militants were killed in
clashes in the Makhoul
Mountains.

Security
forces killed
nine militants in Metabijh.


Six militants were killed in Tal
Abta.

In Karab
al-Jahash, four
militants were killed.

Three
suicide bombers were killed in
a failed attack on Dhuluiya.

Shelling
in Subaihat left

West-Mosul: geen aandacht voor de meer dan 600.000 inwoners (deel 2)

Een paar dagen geleden plaatste ik een bericht over het offensief tegen het door ISIS bezette West-Mosul en het totaal ontbreken van beeldmateriaal en vooral het totale gebrek aan aandacht voor de meer dan 600.000 mensen die opgesloten zijn in dat deel van Mosul*.

Gisteren ontving ik een bericht van ANTIMEDIA, met dezelfde strekking. Met een paar grote uitzonderingen: zo spreekt de schrijver, Shahtahmasebi, die Oost-Aleppo vergelijkt met West-Mosul, over de systematische verschrikkingen, die de bevolking daar onderging door toedoen van het Syrische leger en de Russen…. Voor deze bewering is echter geen greintje bewijs, alles is van horen zeggen en toch berichtte de westerse media of ze deze zaken uit eigen ooggetuigen verslag hadden verkregen……

Voorts citeerde men o.a. SOHR (Syrian Observatory for Human Rights), een organisatie in Engeland bemenst en geleid door één persoon, een gewezen Syrische crimineel. De verslagen bleken telkens weer op leugens te berusten, maar dat was geen reden voor o.a. de BBC en de NOS de berichten van SOHR niet uit te zenden……….

Ook wordt er door Shahtahmasebi gesteld dat de verdedigers van Oost-Aleppo, de burgers niet gebruikten als menselijk schild. Dat is ronduit gelul van een dronken aardbei, dat deden de ‘gematigde rebellen’ (lees: psychopathische moordenaars en verkrachters) nu juist wel!! Sterker nog de door het Syrische leger en Russen meermaals ingestelde corridors, waardoor de burgers van Oost-Aleppo konden vluchten, werden door deze ‘gematigde rebellen’ keer op keer onder vuur genomen. Ook werden burgers die probeerden te vluchten zonder pardon standrechtelijk geëxecuteerd, inclusief mee vluchtende familieleden (waar de leeftijd van de vluchtenden er niet toe deed…….)……

Eén ding is zeker: waar steden in Irak in het recente verleden werden ontzet ‘door het Iraakse leger’ (o.l.v. de VS), vonden gruwelijke oorlogsmisdaden plaats door deze coalitie, zoals in het geval van Fallujah en een eerdere strijd om Mosul in 2014….. Daarover gesproken: men stelde dat na de bevrijding van Oost-Aleppo de mensenrechten op grote schaal werden geschonden door het Syrische leger, iets waar (alweer) geen bewijs voor werd geleverd, echter bij de ontzetting van Fallujah en andere steden, door ‘de Iraakse coalitie’ (in feite ‘de VS coalitie..’), werden er veel gruwelijkheden begaan op de bevolking die e.e.a. had overleefd……..

Mensen lees zelf het volgende artikel, het geeft zeker een ziek beeld van de strijd die de burgers in West-Mosul moeten ondergaan……..

Civilians Trapped in US-Backed Siege of Mosul and Nobody Is Talking

(ANTIMEDIA) Iraqi
forces, backed by American airpower, are set to launch a long-awaited
offensive to retake West Mosul. There are reportedly 3,000
ISIS fighters left defending their last major stronghold in Iraq, and
an estimated 650,000 civilians are trapped in the western-held area
of the city. The U.N. has warned that these civilians are at “extreme
risk,” with food, fuel, water, and electricity supplies extremely
scarce. Mosul, the third largest city in Iraq, has been under
siege by U.S.-backed forces in a months-long offensive to retake the
city from ISIS.

Given
a captured ISIS fighter admitted that
he raped over 200 women in Iraq, it makes sense to want to liberate a
city of civilians currently held hostage by the terror group.
However, the forces the Americans are backing to retake the Iraqi
city are reportedly no better. There have been numerous accounts
of documented
revenge acts committed
by the Shia-led militias against the local Sunni population.

Despite
this, the mainstream media presents the siege Mosul as a
legitimate military operation without question, especially when
compared to the media’s coverage of the battle for Aleppo in late
2016. As noted by
Patrick Cockburn in the Independent:

“But
look at how differently the international media is treating a similar
situation in Mosul, 300 miles east of Aleppo, where one million
people and an estimated 5,000 Isis fighters are being encircled by
the Iraqi army fighting alongside Kurdish Peshmerga and Shia and
Sunni paramilitaries and with massive support from a US-led air
campaign. In the case of Mosul, unlike Aleppo, the defenders are to
blame for endangering civilians by using them as human shields and
preventing them leaving. In East Aleppo, fortunately, there are no
human shields – though the UN says that half the civilian
population wants to depart – but simply innocent victims of Russian
savagery.”

Cockburn notes that the
media completely hyped up Russia’s destruction of Aleppo yet stayed
almost silent on the Iraqi city of Ramadi, which was “80
per cent destroyed by US-led air strikes in 2015.”

Still,
even these much-needed criticisms published in the mainstream media
do not counteract the corporate media’s almost wholehearted support
for American military might in the Middle East and its complete
distaste for Russia. Mainstream outlets hammered home the narrative
that Russia was pounding at least 250,000 civilians trapped in
Eastern Aleppo at the end of 2016. However, the media failed to
mention three crucial facts regarding this assessment: 1) The
majority of Aleppo’s population lived in government-controlled
areas of Aleppo,
which were subject to regular
shelling by rebel groups;
2) The rebel groups that held Eastern Aleppo were all
affiliated with al-Qaeda and shared ISIS’ core belief system;
and 3) The New
York Times admitted the
figure of 250,000 civilians was a fabrication, as “some
groups say the population of eastern Aleppo is much lower, in the
tens of thousands.”

Following
the Aleppo offensive, the Syrian peace deal brokered without the
assistance of the United States has been said to hold “more than
previous ones,” according to
the U.N. envoy to Syria, Staffan de Mistura.

“And
in my modest opinion, has – if we all look at it carefully and
support it – more chances to actually succeed than others,” de
Mistura also said.

No
one doubts that Russia and Syria are responsible for some of the
most egregious
violations of humanitarian law and crimes
against humanity.
But the media’s presentation of these two battles can hardly be
called ‘balanced.’

ISIS
only exists in Iraq in
the first place because when the U.S. invaded in 2003, one of the
first things the top U.S. civilian administrator in Iraq, Paul
Bremer, chose to do was fire
an estimated 350,000
to 400,000 soldiers simply
because they were part of Saddam Hussein’s Baathist party. These
soldiers went from being classified as secularist to fighting
alongside fanatical and radical ISIS members, including
holding high-ranking positions within ISIS’ ranks.

Not
only that, but when ISIS was taking over Mosul in 2014, the U.S.
air force was nowhere to be seen,
even as they captured massive amounts of American military equipment
and brandished it on social media. ISIS’ rise to power was
facilitated by the Obama administration, as leaked
audio of
former Secretary of State John Kerry addressing Syrian opposition
members revealed:

“And
we know that this was growing, we were watching, we saw that DAESH
[ISIS] was growing in strength, and we thought Assad was threatened.
(We) thought, however…We could probably manage that Assad might
then negotiate, but instead of negotiating he got Putin to support
him.”

In
short, U.S. policies put ISIS in Iraq to begin with. Then, when it
suited their warped foreign policy, they decided not to target ISIS
so its momentum could grow throughout the region. Even recently, as
ISIS fought
to retake Deir
ez-Zor in Syria, putting another 250,000 Syrian civilians at risk,
the American military and mainstream media stayed mostly silent. This
was an area in which the U.S. military did strike
in 2016, only to target
Syrian military forces embroiled
in a battle with ISIS.

As
Iraq is set to retake Mosul from ISIS with American assistance, it is
not clear whether the Iraqi people will receive the much-needed
break that they deserve.

Thankfully,
Iraq’s prime minister, Haidar al-Abadi, asked the
Iraqi armed forces to respect human rights during the battle and to
take care of those displaced by the fighting. It is unlikely such a
request would have any effect on rogue militias given that in the
past, the Shia-led militias have been barred
from entering certain cities due to the havoc they are known to
unleash.

Fortunately
for the Iraqi forces, they are fighting alongside the U.S. military,
so their crimes are likely to be swept under the rug by the
mainstream media (for
now, anyway).

Vandaag is het de tweede dag van het Irakees offensief (o.a. met steun van de VS) tegen West-Mosul.

Opvallend feit: je hoort niets over het enorme aantal slachtoffers, onder de meer dan 600.000 inwoners, dat daar moet zijn gevallen en valt…….

Heeft men telefoon en internet verkeer met en vanuit West-Mosul onmogelijk gemaakt??

Zojuist in het BBC World Service radioprogramma ‘Outside Source’, een volgens de presentator heel dappere correspondent, die embedded verslag doet van de strijd. Deze vertelde o.a. dat men zelfgefabriceerde raketten afschiet in het door IS bezette stadsdeel en steden, die voor dat deel van Mosul liggen………. Dat zijn dus geen ‘slimme raketten’ en o.a. daarmee zal een groot aantal burgerslachtoffers worden gemaakt……… Voorts zijn helikopter ‘warships’ bezig met bombardementen en beschietingen. Later werd er verteld over de straaljagers, die bezig zijn met bombardementen, al gebeurt dat vaak op aanvraag van troepen op de grond…….

Wat een verschil met Oost-Aleppo, daar wist men onder meer te melden dat er zo’n 100 ziekenhuizen werden geraakt, door het reguliere Syrische leger en de Russen. Dagelijks liepen de slachtoffers met tientallen, zo niet honderden tegelijk op…… Let wel: alles gebaseerd op van horen zeggen, o.a. van de SOHR, een ‘mensenrechtenorganisatie’, opgezet en bemenst door één uit Syrië gevluchte crimineel, die contact onderhield met de ‘gematigde oppositie’ (lees: psychopathische moordenaars en verkrachters) in Oost-Aleppo. Ondanks dat de berichten van SOHR keer op keer niet klopten, bleef men deze fantast aanhalen als een betrouwbare bron…….

Wie geeft eindelijk de bevolking in West-Mosul een stem…?? Twee antwoorden op die vraag zijn zeker: niet het overgrote deel van de westerse politici, hetzelfde geldt voor de reguliere (massa-) media……

Dezelfde westerse politici en de reguliere media, die dagelijks zo’n grote bek hadden over het Syrische leger en de Russen, toen zij bezig waren Oost-Aleppo te bevrijden……. Terwijl het Syrische leger en de Russen Oost-Aleppo wilden bevrijden van de sharia-terreur uitgeoefend door de eerder genoemde ‘gematigde rebellen’, waaronder Al Qaida en IS (=ISIS), terreur waarover geen letter verscheen bij diezelfde eerder genoemde reguliere westerse (massa-) media…………

In hetzelfde programma vertelt men nu een minuut of 20 later, dat men zo voorzichtig te werk gaat in West-Mosul…… ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Er wordt nog even gelachen over de ‘lemonsoup’ die de embedded correspondent heeft gegeten………

Nogmaals: meer dan 600.000 mensen zitten opgesloten in West-Mosul; het kan niet anders, dan dat daar enorm veel slachtoffers te betreuren zijn……

Europol waarschuwt voor aanslagen met o.a aardappelschilmessen en wc potten in de hele EU…….

Europol is wakker geworden en om de eigen organisatie nog meer toekomstbestendig te maken, waarschuwt het voor veel meer aanslagen in de EU……

Europol stelt daarbij dat het vaak om ‘loon woelfs’ zal gaan, die met o.a. aardappelschilmessen, bloempotten, vazen, koffiemolens, wc potten, radio’s en wekkers, een aanslag zullen plegen………

Europol had beter kunnen waarschuwen, voor de enorme terreur die het westen o.l.v. de VS (meestal met de NAVO aan de hand), in het Midden-Oosten, Afghanistan, Afrika, Zuid- en Midden-Amerika uitoefent. Bij die terreur zijn alleen deze eeuw al meer dan 2 miljoen mensen vermoord, o.a. met de illegale oorlogen tegen Afghanistan, Irak, Libië en Syrië……

Zet die meer dan 2 miljoen slachtoffers eens af tegen het aantal terreurslachtoffers die in dezelfde tijd in het westen zijn gevallen…… Ach ja, vergeet ik even dat er van ons verwacht wordt, mensen uit die landen als 3de klasse burgers te zien: één van ‘onze slachtoffers’ is in vergelijking 1.000 slachtoffers uit die landen waard……….

Eén ding is zeker, met de westerse terreur in de hiervoor genoemde landen, worden nieuwe terroristen gekweekt, terroristen die door de westerse terreur, een enorme haat hebben ontwikkeld tegen dat westen!!

Maar volgens Europol moet u uw ogen sluiten voor westerse terreur, moet u zich niet afvragen wat de oorzaak is van de terreur in het westen en moet u vooral bang zijn voor terroristen van islamitisch kaliber………

– “WSWS” (World Socialist Web Site) – In major actions reported only briefly by the establishment
press, President Obama has given vast new scope to the Pentagon’s
Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC), authorizing it to carry out
assassinations across the globe.

The
units of JSOC have long been employed by the chiefs of the six major
regional military commands, such as Centcom, which covers the Middle
East and Central Asia, to conduct counter-terrorism operations. One
such unit, Seal Team Six, carried out the assassination of Al Qaeda
leader Osama bin Laden in May 2011.

Obama
has approved a proposal to give JSOC independent authority to operate
outside the regional commands, essentially as a globalized
assassination force. JSOC units will bypass the regional commanders
and report directly to Special Operations Command (SOCOM) in the
Pentagon.

According
to the Washington
Post,
“The missions could occur well beyond the battlefields of places
like Iraq, Syria and Libya, where Joint Special Operations Command
(JSOC) has carried out clandestine operations in the past. When
finalized, it will elevate JSOC from being a highly-valued strike
tool used by regional military commands to leading a new multi-agency
intelligence and action force.”

The
mandate of the new formation, to be called the “Counter-External
Operations Task Force,” or Ex-Ops in Pentagon jargon, will embrace
the entire planet. This means US military death squads could be sent
to virtually any location, from European cities to South American
jungles, including the United States itself.


According
to the Post,
a reorganization making counter-terrorism an independent, global
command has been discussed in the Pentagon for 15 years, since the
9/11 terrorist attacks, but it was always rejected on the grounds
that it would cause friction with the regional commanders and create
duplication in command structures.

The
newspaper did not address the question of why now, a
decade-and-a-half later, the Obama administration has decided to
press forward with the new global counter-terrorism initiative. The
decision is likely, at least in part, a response to the debacle of
the US “war on terror” from the standpoint of the global aims of
American imperialism.

The
US wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya and Syria and repeated drone
strikes in other countries, including Pakistan, Yemen and Somalia,
have inflicted catastrophic levels of death and destruction, but they
have not achieved the hoped-for hegemonic control of the region and
its vast energy resources. Obama’s decision represents a
determination to escalate US military violence in Central Asia, the
Middle East, North Africa and beyond.

Another
likely consideration is the possibility that the ongoing military
offensives against Islamic State territories in Syria and Iraq, and
particularly the siege of Mosul, could lead to thousands of ISIS
militants turning to terrorist attacks outside the Middle East.


Defense
Secretary Ashton Carter traveled to Paris last month with SOCOM
Commander Raymond Thomas for talks with security officials from
several European countries. A major topic was the impact on Europe of
a sudden weakening in the military position of ISIS in Iraq and
Syria. Carter told his European counterparts that JSOC “has been
put in the lead” of countering ISIS external operations, the first
mention of the impending Pentagon reorganization.

The Post report
sought to present the Obama-approved reorganization as an effort to
set limits on the operations of special forces under the incoming
Trump administration, including “approval by several agencies
before a drone strike and ‘near certainty’ that no civilians will
be killed guidelines.” But these restrictions are for cosmetic
purposes only and have not stopped the mass slaughter of civilians by
drone missile warfare.

Moreover,
Trump is not bound in any way by executive orders issued by Obama.
The fascistic president-elect has already made his intentions clear,
as far as US Special Forces operations are concerned. He has vowed to
order the killing of the wives and children of suspected ISIS
fighters, a war crime under the Geneva Conventions.

The
latest White House orders serve to facilitate these homicidal
intentions. Less than a month ago, Obama was campaigning against the
election of Trump, denouncing him as unfit to be commander-in-chief
and as a menace to the world. Now, as Foreign
Policymagazine
reported, Obama is “handing the incoming Trump team tools to wage
war that no president has held before.”

In
one particular theater of US counter-terrorism operations, Somalia,
Obama has taken additional action to escalate the carnage by
declaring the Islamist group al-Shabab to be part of the armed
conflict authorized by the US Congress in 2001 after the 9/11
attacks.

The
legal maneuver, reported Monday by the New
York Times,
demonstrates the infinitely expandable scope of the US-declared “war
on terror.” The Authorization for the Use of Military Force (AUMF),
passed by Congress on September 14, 2001, approved military action
against Al Qaeda and associated forces, including the Taliban regime
in Afghanistan.

The
2001 AUMF has been interpreted by the Bush and Obama administrations
as a blanket authorization for military action wherever the president
claims to find a connection to Al Qaeda, no matter how tenuous.
Al-Shabab was not founded until 2007, six years after the 9/11
attacks, in response to the US-backed invasion of Somalia by
Ethiopian troops. It has never conducted operations outside of East
Africa.

The Times noted
that the Somalia decision was one of a series of Obama actions
expanding the military’s authority, including broadening the scope
of air strikes in Afghanistan and approving air strikes against
Sirte, the Libyan city held by supporters of ISIS. More than 400 air
strikes followed, pounding into rubble a city already devastated by
five years of civil war following the 2011 US-NATO bombing campaign.

The
preparations to reinforce the pseudo-legal basis of the war in
Somalia no doubt began well before the election, when Obama expected
to hand off authority to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
But it has continued uninterrupted after Trump’s victory, and as
the Times reported,
it is “a move that will strengthen President-elect Donald J.
Trump’s authority to combat thousands of Islamist fighters in the
chaotic Horn of Africa nation.”

Earlier
this month, the British-based Guardian reported
that “Barack Obama will not tighten the rules governing US drone
strikes ahead of Donald Trump’s inauguration.” An Amnesty
International USA official, Naureen Shah, told the newspaper, “Obama
has normalized the idea that presidents get to have secret
large-scale killing programs at their disposal.”

These
events shed a new and sinister light over the reports of frequent
closed-door discussions between Obama and Trump during the three
weeks since the November 8 election. “They’ve been talking
regularly on any number of issues,” Trump campaign manager
Kellyanne Conway said on CNN’s “State of the Union” program
Sunday.

Obama
was at pains, in his first post-election statement, to dismiss the
bitter vituperation of the election campaign, declaring that the
electoral struggle between the Democrats and Republicans was merely
“an intramural scrimmage.” This is profoundly true: both parties
represent the same class, the American financial aristocracy, and its
global interests, defended in the final analysis by death and
destruction inflicted by the American military machine.
