Joe Biden belazert het volk en de rel op Capitol Hill leidt tot Patriot Act II: totale controle op het volk, ofwel de vorming van een totale politiestaat

Joe
Biden die vorige maand nog de poging van Donald Trump saboteerde om elke
volwassen ingezetenen in de VS $ 2,000.- te geven als compensatie
voor de Corona ellende*, heeft in aanloop van de van de
senaatsverkiezing in Georgia beloofd dat wanneer de Democraten
deze verkiezing zouden winnen, iedere volwassen VS burger $ 2,000.-
zou krijgen. Maarrrr i.p.v. zich aan zijn woord te houden, blijkt dat
hij niet verder gaat dan een bedrag van $ 1,400.- per volwassen
ingezetene…… Tja de wel in december door de Democraten goedgekeurde $ 600.-
in december wordt van de beloofde $ 2,000.- afgetrokken, waardoor er
nu inderdaad $ 1,400.- overblijft om weg te geven…..

Let
wel: via advertenties voorafgaand aan de verkiezingen in Georgia stond duidelijk een cheque afgebeeld met daarop het bedrag van $
2,000.-……. In feite heeft Biden het volk dus 2 keer een oor
aangenaaid, terwijl zelfs een bedrag van $ 2,600.- (de in december
afgegeven belofte van $ 600.- plus de nu door Biden beloofde $ 2,000.-)
een schandalig laag bedrag zou zijn voor het overgrote deel van de VS
burgers, die financieel zo hard zijn getroffen door de Coronacrisis!!! In het hieronder opgenomen artikel van Caitlin Johnstone, stelt zij
dat het rijkste land ter wereld makkelijk veel meer kan betalen en
gezien wat er al aan de bedrijven is uitbetaald zou je het daarmee
eens kunnen zijn, echter de VS zit tot over de oren in de schuld, dus
van die rijkdom blijft maar weinig over >> de geldpersen in de
VS draaien overuren en dat 365 dagen per jaar, waarmee de dollar in
feite een veel te hoge koers heeft, voor elk ander land met zoveel schuld zou de nationale munt zwaar worden afgewaardeerd……

Dan
het tweede punt dat Caitlin aandraagt en dat is de reactie op de rel
op Capitol Hill en in het Capitol zelf. Er is een nieuwe wet in de
maak die je Patriot Act II zou kunnen noemen en met die wet (waarvoor
niet alleen politici en media in de VS pleiten, maar ook alle andere
westerse politici en media..) zullen de burgerrechten nog verder worden uitgekleed… Zoals eerder opgemerkt op deze
plek zal deze wet ook links, inclusief o.a. de natuur beschermende
groeperingen, milieuactivisten en mensenrechtenorganisaties (zoals Black Lives Matter >> BLM) treffen
die niet in het gareel van de opvolgende VS regeringen liepen en
lopen, maar die zich terecht verzetten tegen foute wet- en regelgeving, waarmee mensenrechten worden geschonden, oorlogsmisdaden worden begaan en ons aller thuis de aarde en alles daarop naar de kloten worden geholpen…… (waar een aantal van die organisaties al te maken hebben met censuur en beperkende maatregelen…..) Ofwel het recht op vrije meningsuiting en andere
burgerrechten als het recht op privacy (waar al bijna niets van over
is) zullen een harde klap krijgen, anders gezegd daar zal zo goed als niets of helemaal niets van
overblijven…….. Kortom dan zullen we belanden in een (fascistische) politiestaat…….

de roep steeds harder om censuur in te voeren op de sociale media en
de rest van het internet, alsook het pleidooi voor het afbreken van burgerrechten, alles in
het kader van (valse) veiligheid… In Duitsland spreken politici de
laatste dagen over het inruilen van burgerrechten voor veiligheid,
waar deze politici (en een fiks deel van de reguliere media) vergeten
dat nog geen honderd jaar geleden de nazi’s met dezelfde pleidooien
kwamen…….. (al had men toen uiteraard nog niet de beschikking
over het internet)

It’s
been obvious for a long time that the best way to stop the rise of
right-wing extremism in America that everyone’s so worried about
today is not to pass a bunch of authoritarian laws, but to reverse
the policies of soul-crushing neoliberalism and domestic austerity
which led to Donald Trump. Instead of doing this, the next president
is already pushing a Patriot Act sequel and reducing the stimulus
checks he’d promised the public before he’s even been sworn in.

President-elect
Biden promised
unambiguously
that if voters gave the Democratic Party control of the Senate by
electing Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff in Georgia earlier this
month, checks of $2,000 would “go out the door immediately”.
Warnock blatantly campaigned on the promise of $2000 checks if
elected, literally using
pictures of checks
with “$2000” written on them to do so. This was not an
unclear promise by any stretch of the imagination, yet when Biden
unveiled
the “American Rescue Plan” on Thursday,
the number 1400 was written where the number 2000 should have been.

The
argument being
pushed out
at the moment is that when Democrats were blatantly promising
stimulus checks of $2000 what they really meant was that Americans
would receive $1400 on top of the $600 checks they’d received
earlier, and everyone should have just known this somehow (perhaps
via some sort of psychic precognition or sorcery). Which of course
makes as much sense as someone hiring you to do a job for a given
amount of money and then paying you the amount promised minus the
amount you’d made at your last job.

It’s
just so emblematic of US austerity policies, which are so normalized
they don’t even use that word. Keep people stretched so thin that
even a paltry $2000 after months and months of nothing can be spun as
an excessively exorbitant indulgence which must be scaled back to
keep it reasonable. In reality a grand total of $2600 in the richest
nation on earth after all this time would still be a huge slap in the
face, but generations of media spin have gone into keeping Americans
from attaining that level of rightful entitlement.

So
as of this writing the internet is full of angry Americans actually
typing the words “$1400 is not $2000”, which is totally
bananas. People should not have to say that the number 1400 is not
the same as the number 2000. It feels like if my Twitter feed was
full of people saying “Cars are not birds”, or “Pogs
are not iPhones”, or “Mimes are not salad”. People
should not have to make such self-evident clarifications.

But
they apparently do
need to make such clarifications, because scumbags like Adam Schiff
are looking them right in the eye, sharing
information
that says “$1,400 checks” on it, and telling them that it
says “$2000 relief checks”.

So
again, it’s pretty clear that America isn’t going to attempt to
reverse the conditions which created Trump and all the extremist
factions that everyone’s been freaking out about since the Capitol
riot. Obama led to Trump, and the strategy going forward is to just
keep tightening the neoliberal screws like both Obama and Trump did
throughout their entire administrations. And, of course, to advance
new “domestic terrorism” laws.

As
we discussed
previously,
Biden has often boasted of being the original author of the Patriot
Act years before it was rapidly rolled out amid the fear and blind
obsequiousness of the aftermath of 9/11. Now in the aftermath of the
Capitol riot we are seeing a push to roll out new authoritarian laws
around terrorism, this time taking aim at “domestic terror”,
which were also in preparation prior to the event used to manufacture
support for them.

In
a new article for Washington
Monthly
titled “It’s
Time for a Domestic Terrorism Law“,
Bill Scher argues against left-wing critics of the coming laws like
Glenn
Greenwald
and Jacobin‘s
Luke Savage
saying such “knee-jerk reactions” against potential
authoritarian abuses fail to address the growing problem. He opens
with the acknowledgement that “Joe Biden’s transition team was
already working on a domestic terrorism law before the
insurrection,” and then he just keeps on writing as though
that’s not weird or suspicious in any way.

Scher
lists among the growing threat of domestic terror not just white
supremacists and right-wing extremists but “extremist left-wing
domestic terrorism” as well. He approvingly cites Adam Schiff’s
Confronting The Threat of Terrorism Act, which “creates a
definition of domestic terrorism broadly encompassing plots that
carry a ‘substantial risk of serious bodily injury’ along with an
‘intent to intimidate or coerce a civilian population’ or ‘influence
the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion.'” The
ACLU has unequivocally
denounced Schiff’s bill,
saying it “would unnecessarily expand law enforcement
authorities to target and discriminate against the very communities
Congress is seeking to protect.”

has also been trotted out to make the case that Americans have too
many rights for their own good, co-authoring an NBC article titled
“Worried
about free speech, FBI never issued intelligence bulletin about
possible Capitol violence“.

“FBI
intelligence analysts gathered information about possible violence
involving the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6., but the FBI never
distributed a formal intelligence bulletin, in part because of
concerns that doing so might have run afoul of free speech
protections, a current and two former senior FBI officials familiar
with the matter told NBC News,” the article warns, making sure
to inform readers that “experts say the lack of a domestic
terrorism statute constrains the FBI from treating far-right and
far-left groups the same as Americans who are radicalized to violence
by Al Qaeda or ISIS ideology.”

We
can expect to see more such articles going forward.

The
only way to sincerely believe more Patriot Act-like laws will benefit
Americans is to believe that the US will only have wise and
beneficent leaders going forward, and the only way to sincerely
believe the US will only have wise and beneficent leaders going
forward is to be completely shit-eating stupid. The trajectory has
already been chosen, and that trajectory is the one that has already
given rise to Trump. Continuing along that same trajectory can only
give rise to something far uglier, and that something far uglier will
have whatever new authoritarian powers are added by Joe Biden.

They’re
not actually worried about “domestic terror”, they’re
worried about any movement which threatens to topple the status quo.
They want to make sure they can adequately spy, infiltrate, agitate
and incarcerate into impotence any movement which provides a threat
to America’s rulers and the system which funnels them wealth and
power at the expense of everyone else. The movements which most
threaten this are not rightists, who are generally more or less
aligned with the interests of the oligarchic empire, but the left.

This
is who they’ll end up targeting going forward, and whatever Biden and
Company wind up rolling out to fight “domestic terrorism”
will help them do so.

De roep om censuur na de stormloop op het Capitol zal ook links keihard treffen

Na
de bestorming van Capitol Hill en daaropvolgend het binnendringen van het Capitol* heeft in de VS en het grootste deel van andere westerse landen opnieuw de schreeuw ontlokt om censuur van de sociale media en het internet in
het algemeen, ook in ons land….. (niet alleen door politici maar zoals gewoonlijk gesteund door de reguliere media >> daarover zo meer) Het meest opvallende voor mij was
wel dat men in Duitsland deze roep gepaard liet gaan met het vergelijken van het
gebeuren in Washington met de ‘bestorming van de
Reichstag’ tijdens de enorme demonstratie in Berlijn tegen de
Coronavirus maatregelen….. Van een bestorming was daar echter geen sprake**,
maar toch ‘hielden de massamedia in Duitsland en daarbuiten deze leugen warm’ en
deze wordt nog steeds keer op keer opnieuw geserveerd, zoals nu dus na de echte
bestorming van en het binnendringen van het Capitol…..

Ik haal expres de media aan daar Caitlin Johnstone deze amper noemt in haar
laatste artikel dat ze gisteren publiceerde
op haar site. In het artikel stelt Caitlin volkomen terecht dat het
overgrote deel van wat je linkse VS burgers en politiek activisten kan noemen,
zich vanwege het gebeuren in het Capitol achter de roep om censuur op de sociale media en het internet hebben gesteld, echter dat deze figuren niet doorhebben dat
hen daarmee ook de mond zal worden gesnoerd.

In
Nederland had NOS correspondent Lucas Waagmeester in de nacht
volgend op het gebeuren in Washington het gore lef te zeggen dat ook links
activisten meededen aan de bestorming van het Capitol, een
leugen ven enorme proporties ingegeven door een deel van rechtse
reguliere (massa-) media in de VS, die meldden dat Antifa
meedeed aan de bestorming, geen foto of videobeeld die dit kan
bevestigen, maar alsnog op een manier gebracht die bij de bevolking
de rillingen over de rug deed lopen en de haat tegen alles wat (echt)
liberaal en links is aanwakkerde en aanwakkert…..

Na
de 9/11 aanslagen, geregisseerd en georganiseerd door o.a. de CIA, zoveel is intussen meer dan duidelijk, werd in noodtempo (in
één week tijd) de Patriot Act door het congres gejaagd, iets dat
alleen mogelijk was omdat men de hele tekst al zo goed als klaar had
liggen, deze werd geschreven door de nieuwe VS president Biden, die
deze opstelde in 1995 onder de ‘noemer’: Omnibus Counterterrorism Act.
Biden schreef deze een paar weken voor de Oklahoma City Bombing (een bomaanslag),
waarbij 168 doden vielen en meer dan 800 gewonden, deze aanslag werd
op op 19 april van dat jaar gepleegd door Timothy
McVeigh, een gefrustreerde veteraan. De Act (wet) van Biden haalde het niet in 1995. Met de Patriot Act werden een
aantal burgerrechten teniet gedaan, zoals het vervolgen van mensen op
basis van geheim bewijs (te zot voor woorden!!!) en gaf de VS de mogelijkheid
om niet VS burgers voor onbepaalde tijd, zonder enige vorm van proces
vast te houden (zie Guantanamo Bay en alle buitenlandse gevangenissen van de CIA….)….. Bovendien werd het
leger toegestaan ook op VS bodem te opereren….

Een
belangrijk wapen in deze wet is wel dat ‘terrorisme’ bestreden kan
worden door naar de ideologie te kijken die mensen aanhangen en met
wie ze deze delen…. En precies dat wil men nu weer volledig
opgewarmd opdienen, vandaar ook dat Caitlin stelt dat het
‘progressieve en linkse deel’ van het volk vooral niet moet pleiten
voor censuur, daar ze hiermee zichzelf buitenspel zetten……

Elissa
Slotkin, een voormalig CIA analist, tegenwoordig lid van het huis van
afgevaardigden, heeft gesteld dat de strijd tegen terrorisme in het
buitenland is ingewisseld door dezelfde strijd op VS bodem……
(Slotkin was mede verantwoordelijk voor het destabiliseren van het
Midden-oosten onder Bush en Obama >> de illegale oorlogen tegen o.a. Afghanistan en Irak) Het 9/11 tijdperk is voorbij aldus
Slotkin, de interne verdeling is nu de grootste vijand van de
democratie en die zorgt voor terreur in de VS….. Whitney Webb stelt
terecht dat Slotkin in feite stelt dat de oorlog tegen buitenlandse
terreur is ingewisseld voor de oorlog tegen binnenlandse terreur…..

Lees het
artikel van Caitlin en zegt het voort, ook in ons land klinkt de roep
om censuur steeds harder (sterker nog: er wordt al gecensureerd op de sociale media) en als we niet oppassen, zeker met de
huidige spoedwet, is de kans groot dat we afdwalen naar een volledige
politiestaat zoals de VS in feite al is (immers we moeten bijvoorbeeld maar afwachten of de
Corona spoedwet geheel of gedeeltelijk wordt teruggedraaid, mochten

The
Boot Is Coming Down Hard And Fast

A
lot’s been happening really fast. It’s a white noise saturation day
and it’s impossible to keep track of everything going on, so I’m just
going to post my thoughts on a few of the things that have happened.

Biden
has
announced
plans to roll out new domestic terrorism laws in the wake of the
Capitol Hill riot.

“Mr.
Biden has said he plans to make a priority of passing a law
against domestic terrorism, and he has been urged to create a White
House post overseeing the fight against ideologically inspired
violent extremists and increasing funding to combat them,” Wall
Street Journal
reports.

Did
you know that Biden has
often boasted
about being the original author of the US Patriot Act?

The
first draft of the civil
rights-eroding USA
PATRIOT Act was magically introduced
one week after the 9/11 attacks.
Legislators later
admitted that
they hadn’t even had time to read through the hundreds of pages of
the history-shaping bill before passing it the next month, yet
somehow its authors were able to gather all the necessary information
and write the whole entire thing in a week.

This
was because most of the work had already been done. CNET reported
the following back
in 2008:

“Months
before the Oklahoma City bombing took place, [then-Senator Joe] Biden
introduced another bill called the Omnibus
Counterterrorism Act of 1995.
It previewed the 2001 Patriot Act by allowing secret evidence to be
used in prosecutions, expanding the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance
Act and wiretap laws, creating a new federal crime of ‘terrorism’
that could be invoked based on political beliefs, permitting the U.S.
military to be used in civilian law enforcement, and allowing
permanent detention of non-U.S. citizens without judicial review. The
Center for National Security Studies said
the bill would erode ‘constitutional
and statutory due process protections’ and would ‘authorize the
Justice Department to pick and choose crimes to investigate and
prosecute based on political beliefs and associations.’

Biden’s
bill was
never put to a vote,
but after 9/11 then-Attorney General John Ashcroft reportedly
credited his bill with the foundations of the USA PATRIOT Act.

“Civil
libertarians were opposed to it,” Biden said
in 2002 of
his bill. “Right after 1994, and you can ask the attorney general
this, because I got a call when he introduced the Patriot Act. He
said, ‘Joe, I’m introducing the act basically as you wrote it in
1994.’”

The
post 9/11 era is over. The single greatest national security threat
right now is our internal division. The threat of domestic terrorism.
The polarization that threatens our democracy. If we don’t reconnect
our two Americas, the threats will not have to come from the outside.

recent Morning
Joe
appearance by CIA analyst-turned House Representative Elissa Slotkin
eagerly informed us that the real battle against terrorism is now
inside America’s borders.

“The
post 9/11 era is over,” Slotkin tweeted
while sharing a clip of her appearance. “The single greatest
national security threat right now is our internal division. The
threat of domestic terrorism. The polarization that threatens our
democracy. If we don’t reconnect our two Americas, the threats will
not have to come from the outside.”

“Before
Congress, Elissa worked for the CIA and the Pentagon and helped
destabilize the Middle East during the Bush and Obama admins,”
tweeted
journalist Whitney Webb in response. “What she says here is
essentially an open announcement that the US has moved from the ‘War
on [foreign] terror’ to the ‘War on domestic terror’.”

response to pressures
from all directions including its
own staff,
Twitter has followed Facebook’s lead and removed Donald Trump’s
account.

And
it wasn’t just Trump. Accounts are vanishing quickly, including some
popular Trump supporter accounts.
I myself have lost hundreds of followers on Twitter in the last few
hours, and I’ve seen people saying they lost a lot more.

It
also wasn’t just Trump supporters; leftist accounts are getting
suspended too.
The online left is hopefully learning that cheering for Twitter
“banning fascists” irrationally assumes that (A) their
purges are only banning fascists and (B) they are limiting their bans
to your personal definition of fascists. There is no basis whatsoever
for either of these assumptions.

has ratcheted things up even further by removing
Parler
from its app store, and Apple will
likely soon follow.
This push to marginalize even the already fringey social media sites
is making the libertarian/shitlib argument of “If you don’t like
censorship just go to another platform” look pretty ridiculous.

This
is all happening just in time for the Biden administration, about
which critics had already
been voicing grave concerns
regarding the future of internet censorship.

The
censorship of a political faction at the hands of a few liberal
Silicon Valley billionaires will do the exact opposite of eliminating
right-wing paranoia and conspiracy theories, and everyone knows it.
You’re not trying to make things better, you’re trying to make them
worse. You’re not trying to restore peace and order, you’re
trying to force a confrontation so your political enemies can be
crushed. You’re accelerationist.

correct response to a huge section of the citizenry doubting an
electoral system we’ve known for years is garbage would have been
more transparency, not shoving the process through and silencing
people who voice doubts and making that entire faction more paranoid
and crazy.

Terwijl
de wereld hysterisch reageert op de gebeurtenissen die gisteren
plaatsvonden op Capital Hill, misbruiken meerdere politici en
reguliere mediaorganen deze om te pleiten voor censuur op het net en de
sociale media. Zo ook D66 kwaadaardigheid Sigrid Kaag die als was ze
al premier van Nederland de gebeurtenissen in Washington veroordeelde
en vanmorgen in bedekte termen op BNR na 8.00 u. pleitte voor censuur
toen ze stelde dat we op moeten passen voor het woordgebruik op de
sociale media……. Vergeet niet dat haar minister en partijcollega
Ollongren, de gesel van de Nederlandse huurders, meermaals naar
(echt) linkse mensen in ons land, dus niet van PvdA, GL of SP, heeft
gewezen als zijnde Russische trollen, die niet de kans zouden moeten hebben de mening van het publiek te beïnvloeden, zo waarschuwde deze oplichter en grootlobbyist voor het neoliberalisme en het bedrijfsleven ook voor manipulatie van verkiezingen in ons land door Russische trollen……

Zoals
gezegd misplaatste hysterie over de gebeurtenissen in Washington,
immers als je een beetje het nieuws in de gaten hebt gehouden al van
voor de presidentsverkiezingen en zeker daarna, heeft Trump meermaals
aangegeven dat hij zich het presidentschap niet af zou laten nemen
door gestoken en daarmee gestolen verkiezingen, geen woord Spaans in te ontdekken…..
Het voorgaande zeker als je weet dat zijn aanhangers voor een flink
deel lid zijn van bewapende milities, die maar een paar woorden nodig
hebben om in opstand te komen….. Neem de gewelddadige fascistische
groep die zich Proud Boys noemt en die Trump maande waakzaam te
zijn nadat de leden in Washington en elders geweld gebruikten tegen vreedzame
demonstranten van Black Lives Matter (BLM)…… Vooral de reguliere media moeten zich schamen als
ze zeggen totaal verrast te zijn door de gebeurtenissen van
gisteren……

Gisteravond
werd het Oog op Morgen op Radio1 verlengd vanwege de gebeurtenissen
en donderde bijna van m’n stoel toen ik een correspondent in de VS
hoorde zeggen dat hij niets begreep van de ontstane situatie daar
‘hij normaal CNN maar aan hoefde te zetten om te weten wat er
gebeurt in Washington…..’ Inderdaad dat is het niveau van de
zogenaamde journalistiek in ons land en ver daarbuiten…… Een
andere correspondent, volgens mij Lucas Waagmeester, correspondent
van de zogenaamde onafhankelijke zendgemachtigde NOS, ‘moest’ nog even melden dat er ook linkse groepen geweld gebruikten
in Washington…. Geen beeld dat dit bevestigt, maar dat interesseert Waagmeester blijkbaar niet…….

Nog
even terug naar Kaag, o.a. minister Buitenlandse Handel, zij stelde
bij BNR tevens dat ze Biden feliciteerde met zijn presidentschap en
hoopt zaken te kunnen doen met hem…. ha! ha! ha! ha! Kaag hoopt
gewoon dat Biden als de bliksem het TTIP akkoord tekent, zodat ze een
meerderheid van het Nederlandse volk dat tegen dit vrijhandelsverdrag is, een reuzenoor kan aannaaien, immers dit verdrag
is in het belang van de grote bedrijven en niet van de burgers….. Eén en ander door
de ISDS clausule in dit verdrag, daarmee zullen landen als Nederland niet
langer producten uit de VS kunnen weigeren als deze een gevaar zijn voor de
volksgezondheid, vergeet niet dat dit nu al is toegestaan: er worden
hier levensmiddelen als groente en fruit verkocht die behandeld zijn
met een gif dat hier al lang en breed is verboden…… ISDS staat voor een geheime rechtbank waar bedrijven landen kunnen aanklagen voor het weigeren van hun producten….. Bestaande handelsverdragen met zo’n rechtbank laten zien dat de bedrijven in 99% van de gevallen in het gelijk worden gesteld…. Geheime rechtbanken daar het publiek niet mag weten welk bedrijf zo smerig bezig is, immers daarop zou dat publiek kunnen besluiten die producten te boycotten……

‘Terug naar Washington’: Paul
Bril, die volgens eigen zeggen jaren in de VS heeft gewoond stelde vanmorgen op
BNR na 8.00 u. dat Capitol Hill gewijde grond is….. ha! ha! ha! ha! Ja ‘gewijde grond’ waar beslissing werden en worden genomen die miljoenen
mensen het leven hebben gekost en kosten, in de eerste plaats de levens van de
oorspronkelijke bevolking van het VS gebied in Noord-Amerika die met een genocide bijna werden
uitgeroeid…. ‘Gewijde grond……’

Onbegrijpelijk
dat e.e.a. heeft kunnen gebeuren in Washington zeker daar Trump
zoals gezegd, al in december zijn aanhang opriep om 6 januari naar
Washington te komen (de dag dat het congres Biden zou aanwijzen als
opvolger van hem)… Hoe is het mogelijk dat deze gewelddadige
demonstranten zelfs het Capitol konden binnendringen??? Heeft dit
wellicht te maken met politie en troepen van de Nationale Garde die
een machtsoverdracht onmogelijk willen maken?? Het ziet er niet
naar uit dat politie en leger pal achter Trump staan en het mogelijk
zouden maken dat Biden niet kan aantreden als president, maar je
weet maar nooit, pas de 20ste van deze maand is de officiële
machtsoverdracht…. Een burgeroorlog zou lullig genoeg een zegen
zijn voor een groot aantal landen waar de VS de beest uithangt, immers
er zullen dan echt veel troepen terug worden geroepen naar de VS,
zoals Trump beloofde bij zijn aantreden, maar waar weinig van
terecht is gekomen. Eén ding is zeker: een burgeroorlog in de VS dichterbij dan ooit sinds de laatste 155 jaar……..

Overigens dient nog opgemerkt worden dat in het hieronder opgenomen bericht van Caitlin Johnstone een video is opgenomen waarin te zien is hoe de politie de hekken opent voor de gewelddadige demonstranten……..

Misschien
wel de meest belachelijke uitspraak kwam van Boris Johnson, de
uiterst kwaadaardige Britse premier, deze stelde dat de
gebeurtenissen in Washington beschamend zijn, terwijl de VS staat
voor het brengen van democratie over de wereld…. ha! ha! ha! ha!
ha! ha! ha! Democratie brengen middels bommen en granaten, waarna een democratie
zelfs verder weg is dan ooit tevoren!! Niet voor niets dat de VS het
zo goed kan vinden met dictators, neem Saoedi-Arabië dat met hulp
van de VS een genocide uitvoert in Jemen en dat bijna alle moslim
terreurgroepen steunt, inclusief ISIS….. Iets waar de VS overigens volledig
aan meewerkt, zo beschermt de VS diverse terreurgroepen in het gebied
dat het in Syrië illegaal bezet houdt, een belangrijk gebied voor dat land omdat
er veel olie wordt gewonnen (het land moet heropgebouwd worden vanwege de door de VS georganiseerde oorlog, dus elke cent is nodig), naast Al Qaida en minder bekende
terreurgroepen zijn daar ook een groot aantal ISIS strijders die
(nogmaals) worden beschermd door de VS…….

George W. Bush stelde in een reactie dat het gebeuren in Washington thuishoort in een bananenrepubliek…. Een bananenrepubliek waarvoor o.a. hijzelf de fundamenten heeft gelegd!!

In
het volgende artikel merkt Caitlin Johnstone o.a. volkomen terecht op
dat de VS nu een koek van eigen deeg krijgt, ook al is de
machtsoverdracht bijna niet te voorkomen door Trump en zijn misdadige
administratie, die overigens deels tegen de gewelddadige

United States received a very small taste
of its own medicine
today as rioting Trump fanatics temporarily forced
their way into the nation’s Capitol building,
and now the whole nation is freaking out.

I
am being generous when I say that America was given a very small
taste of its own medicine; unlike the horrific coups and violent
uprisings the US routinely orchestrates in noncompliant nations
around the world, this one stood exactly zero chance of seizing
control of the government, and only one
person died.

I
am also being generous when I say the rioters “forced their way”
in; DC chose
not to increase its police presence
in preparation for the protests despite knowing that they were
planned, and there’s footage
of what appears to be cops actively letting them through a police
barricade. There was some
fighting
between police and protesters, but contrasted with the militarized
squadron
which greeted Black Lives Matter demonstrators at the same building a
few months prior it’s fair to say the police response today was
relatively gentle.

Just
as predictably, it’s also got them calling for the censorship of
social media.

The
New York Times
has published two new articles titled “The
storming of Capitol Hill was organized on social media”
and “Violence
on Capitol Hill Is a Day of Reckoning for Social Media“,
both arguing for more heavy-handed restrictions on speech from
Silicon Valley tech giants.

In
the former, NYT’s Sheera Frenkel writes “the violence Wednesday
was the result of online movements operating in closed social media
networks where people believed the claims of voter fraud and of the
election being stolen from Mr. Trump,” citing the expert
analysis of think tank spinmeister Renee DiResta of “Tulsi
Gabbard is a Russian asset”
fame. As usual no mention is made of DiResta’s involvement
in the New Knowledge scandal
in which a Russian interference “false flag” was staged for
an Alabama Senate race.

“These
people are acting because they are convinced an election was stolen,”
DiResta said. “This is a demonstration of the very real-world
impact of echo chambers.”

“This
has been a striking repudiation of the idea that there is an online
and an offline world and that what is said online is in some way kept
online,” DiResta adds.

This
narrative which seeds the idea that unregulated communication on the
internet will lead to violent uprisings is funny coming from Frankel,
who, as a Twitter follower recently
observed,
wrote a
piece in 2018
condemning the Iranian government for restricting protesters’ social
media access during the demonstrations at that time.

“Social
media and messaging apps have become crucial to antigovernment
demonstrators around the world, as a means of both organizing and
delivering messages to other citizens,” Frankel wrote. “Not
surprisingly, restricting access to such technology has become as
important to government crackdowns as the physical presence of the
police.”

In
the
other article,
co-authored by Frankel, Mike Isaac and Kate Conger, the message is
driven home even less subtly.

“As pro-Trump
protesters stormed the Capitol building on Wednesday and halted
the certification of Electoral College votes, the role of social
media companies such as Twitter, Facebook and YouTube in spreading
misinformation and being a megaphone for Mr. Trump came under renewed
criticism,” reads the article, adding, “So when
violence broke out in Washington on Wednesday, it was, in the minds
of longtime critics, the day the chickens came home to roost for the
social media companies.”

The
article reports on the US president’s temporary suspension of social
media privileges for allegedly inciting violence with his posts, then
discusses the various kinds of disinformation and violent ideation
being circulated in Trump discussion forums.

“Those
alternative social media sites were rife with Trump supporters
organizing and communicating on Wednesday,” NYT tells us. “On
Parler, one trending hashtag was #stormthecapitol. Many Trump
supporters on the sites also appeared to believe a false rumor that
Antifa, a left-wing movement, was responsible for committing violence
at the protests.”

“We
know the social media companies have been lackadaisical at best” at
stopping extremism from growing on their platforms, Jonathan
Greenblatt, director of the Anti-Defamation League, told NYT.
“Freedom of expression is not the freedom to incite violence. That
is not protected speech.”

We
will likely see many more such articles in the coming days, arguing
for increased regulation of internet communication to prevent future
incidents like today.

In
and of itself this won’t sound terribly concerning to the average
citizen. Nothing wrong with taking steps to prevent people from
plotting violence and terrorism on social media, right?

But
how do you predict what protests are going to be “violent”?
How do you decide which protests and what political dissent need to
be censored and which ones should be permitted to communicate freely?
Do you just leave it up to Silicon Valley oligarchs to make the call?
Or do you have them consult with the government like they’ve
been doing?
Are either of these institutions you’d trust to regulate what
protests are worthy of being permitted to organize online?

Because
the actual power structures in the United States seem to be
interested in simply censoring the internet to eliminate political
dissent altogether.

In
2017 top officials from Facebook, Twitter and Google were
brought
before the Senate Judiciary Committee
and admonished to come up with policies that will “prevent the
fomenting of discord” in the United States.

Democratic
Senator Mazie Hirono of Hawaii demanded, for her part, that the
companies adopt a “mission statement” expressing their commitment
“to prevent the fomenting of discord.”

The
most substantial portion of the testimony took place in the second
part of the hearing, during which most of the Senators had left and
two representatives of the US intelligence agencies testified before
a room of mostly empty chairs.

Clint
Watts, a former U.S. Army officer, former FBI agent, and member of
the Alliance for Securing Democracy, made the following apocalyptic
proclamation: “Civil wars don’t start with gunshots, they start
with words. America’s war with itself has already begun. We all
must act now on the social media battlefield to quell information
rebellions that can quickly lead to violent confrontations and easily
transform us into the Divided States of America.”

He
added, “Stopping the false information artillery barrage landing on
social media users comes only when those outlets distributing bogus
stories are silenced—silence the guns and the barrage will end.”

That
sounds an awful like government officials and operatives telling
social media corporations that it’s their job to censor communication
which could facilitate any kind of unrest, no matter how justified.

Do
you trust these monopolistic megacorporations to decide whether or
not people’s dissident speech is acceptable? I don’t.
