Agenda Report bracht vorige week woensdag een artikel, eerder gepubliceerd op Truthdig en geschreven door Ellen Brown, waarin zij betoogt dat een universeel basisinkomen (UBI) geen probleem is en niet ten koste zal gaan van belastingverhogingen voor de hogere of de middeninkomens.

Het betreft hier een uiterst intelligent schrijven van Brown, een artikel dat van groot belang kan zijn voor iedereen op onze kleine aarde: het uitroeien van armoede en een oplossing voor de tijd dat machines en computers het overgrote deel van de arbeid die de mens verricht zullen overnemen.

Praatjes dat de automatisering alleen maar meer banen zullen opleveren, zijn volkomen naast de waarheid…… Neem de betaalautomaten: deze automaten hebben duizenden bankmedewerkers de baan als loketmedewerker gekost….. Of wat dacht je van de automatisering in de landbouw, werk dat vroeger door tienduizenden arbeiders werd gedaan, kan nu in veel gevallen zelfs met 2 machines worden verricht, het in de grond stoppen van zaden en de oogst……

Met een basisinkomen kunnen we eindelijk aan het geluk van de mens werken, wel zal men daarvoor in het onderwijs ruimte vrij moeten maken voor lessen hoe om te gaan met vrije tijd, iets waar mensen niet goed in zijn en waar de meesten van ons pas achter komen bij werkloosheid en na pensionering….. (en dat is toch uitermate triest…)

A
universal income program can help correct the debt bubble problem
without fear of “overheating” the economy.

“It
could actually be funded year after year without driving up taxes or
prices.”

Calls
for a Universal Basic Income (UBI) have been increasing, most
recently as part of the “Green New Deal” (GND) introduced by Rep.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., and supported
in the last month by
at least 40 members of Congress. A UBI is a monthly payment to all
adults with no strings attached, similar to Social Security. Critics
say the
Green New Deal asks too much of the rich and upper-middle-class
taxpayers who will have to pay for it, but taxing the rich is
not what
the resolution proposes .
It says funding would primarily come from the federal government,
“using a combination of the Federal Reserve, a new public bank or
system of regional and specialized public banks,” among other
vehicles.

The
Federal Reserve alone could do the job. It could buy “Green”
federal bonds with money created on its balance sheet, just as the
Fed funded the purchase of $3.7 trillion in bonds in its
“quantitative easing” program to save the banks. The Treasury
could also do it. The Treasury has the constitutional power to issue
coins in any denomination, even
trillion dollar coins .
What prevents legislators from pursuing those options is the fear of
hyperinflation from excess “demand” (spendable income) driving
prices up. But in fact the consumer economy is chronically short of
spendable income, due to the way money enters the consumer economy.
We actually needregular
injections of money to avoid a “balance sheet recession” and
allow for growth, and a UBI is one way to do it.

The
pros and cons of a UBI are hotly debated and have been discussed
elsewhere .
The point here is to show that it could actually be funded year after
year without driving up taxes or prices.New money is continually
being added to the money supply, but it is added as debt created
privately by banks. (How banks, rather than the government, create
most of the money supply today is explained on the Bank of England
website here .)
A UBI would replace money-created-as-debt with debt-free money—a
“debt jubilee” for consumers—while leaving the money supply for
the most part unchanged; and to the extent that new money was added,
it could help create the demand needed to fill the gap between actual
and potential productivity.

The
Debt Overhang Crippling Economies

The
“bank money” composing most of the money in circulation is
created only when someone borrows, and today businesses and consumers
are burdened with debts that are higher than ever before. In 2018,
credit card debt alone exceeded $1 trillion, student debt exceeded
$1.5 trillion, auto loan debt exceeded $1.1 trillion, and
non-financial corporate debt hit $5.7 trillion. When businesses and
individuals pay down old loans rather than taking out new loans, the
money supply shrinks, causing a “balance sheet recession.” In
that situation, the central bank, rather than removing money from the
economy (as the Fed is doing now), needs to add money to fill the gap
between debt and the spendable income available to repay it.

Debt
always grows faster than the money available to repay it. One
problem is the interest ,
which is not created along with the principal, so more money is
always owed back than was created in the original loan. Beyond that,
some of the money created as debt is held
off the consumer market by “savers” and
investors who place it elsewhere, making it unavailable to companies
selling their wares and the wage-earners they employ. The result is a
debt bubble that continues to grow until it is not sustainable and
the system collapses, in the familiar death spiral euphemistically
called the “business cycle.” As economist Michael Hudson shows in
his 2018 book, “…
and Forgive Them Their Debts ,” this
inevitable debt overhang was corrected historically with periodic
“debt jubilees”—debt forgiveness—something he argues we need
to do again today.

For
governments, a
debt jubilee could be effected by
allowing the central bank to buy government securities and hold them
on its books. For individuals, one way to do it fairly across the
board would be with a UBI.

Why
a UBI Need Not Be Inflationary

In
a 2018 book called “The
Road to Debt Bondage: How Banks Create Unpayable Debt ,”
political economist Derryl Hermanutz proposes a central-bank-issued
UBI of $1,000 per month, credited directly to people’s bank
accounts. Assuming this payment went to all U.S. residents over 18,
or about 250 million people, the outlay would be about $2.5 trillion
annually. For people with overdue debt, Hermanutz proposes that it
automatically go to pay down those debts. Since
money is created as loans and extinguished when they are repaid, that
portion of a UBI disbursement would be extinguished along with the
debt.

People
who were current on their debts could choose whether or not to pay
them down, but many would also no doubt go for that option. Hermanutz
estimates that roughly half of a UBI payout could be extinguished in
this way through mandatory and voluntary loan repayments. That money
would not increase the money supply or demand. It would just allow
debtors to spend on necessities with debt-free money rather than
hocking their futures with unrepayable debt.

He
estimates that another third of a UBI disbursement would go to
“savers” who did not need the money for expenditures. This money,
too, would not be likely to drive up consumer prices, since it would
go into investment and savings vehicles rather than circulating in
the consumer economy. That leaves only about one-sixth of payouts, or
$400 billion, that would actually be competing for goods and
services; and that sum could easily be absorbed by the “output gap”
between actual and forecasted productivity.

According
to a July 2017 paper from the Roosevelt Institute called “What
Recovery? The Case for Continued Expansionary Policy at the Fed ”:
“GDP remains well below both the long-run trend and the level
predicted by forecasters a decade ago. In 2016, real per capita GDP
was 10% below the Congressional Budget Office’s (CBO) 2006
forecast, and shows no signs of returning to the predicted level.”

The
report showed that the most likely explanation for this lackluster
growth was inadequate demand. Wages have remained stagnant; and
before producers will produce, they need customers knocking on their
doors.

In
2017, the U.S. Gross Domestic Product was $19.4 trillion. If the
economy is running at 10 percent below full capacity, $2 trillion
could be injected into the economy every
year without
creating price inflation. It would just generate the demand needed to
stimulate an additional $2 trillion in GDP. In fact a UBI might pay
for itself, just as the G.I.
Bill produced a sevenfold return from
increased productivity after World War II.

The
Evidence of China

That
new money can be injected year after year without triggering price
inflation is evident from a look at China. In the last 20 years, its
M2 money supply has grown from just over 10 trillion yuan to 80
trillion yuan ($11.6T), a nearly 800 percent increase. Yet the
inflation rate of its Consumer Price Index (CPI) remains a
modest 2.2 percent.

Why
has all that excess money not driven prices up? The answer is that
China’s Gross Domestic Product has grown at the same fast clip as
its money supply. When supply (GDP) and demand (money) increase
together, prices remain stable.

Whether
or not the Chinese government would approve of a UBI, it
does recognize that
to stimulate productivity, the money must get out there first;
and since the government owns 80 percent of China’s banks, it is in
a position to borrow money into existence as needed. For
“self-funding” loans—those that generate income (fees for rail
travel and electricity, rents for real estate)—repayment
extinguishes the debt along with the money it created, leaving the
net money supply unchanged. When loans are not repaid, the money they
created is not extinguished; but if it goes to consumers and
businesses that then buy goods and services with it, demand will
still stimulate the production of supply, so that supply and demand
rise together and prices remain stable.

Without
demand, producers will not produce and workers will not get hired,
leaving them without the funds to generate supply, in a vicious cycle
that leads to recession and depression. And that cycle is what our
own central bank is triggering now.

The
Fed Tightens the Screws

Rather
than stimulating the economy with new demand, the Fed has been
engaging in “quantitative tightening.” On Dec. 19, 2018, it
raised the Fed funds rate for the ninth time in three years, despite
a “brutal” stock market in which the Dow Jones Industrial Average
had already lost 3,000 points in 2 ½ months. The Fed is still
struggling to reach even its modest 2 percent inflation target, and
GDP growth is trending down, with estimates at only 2-2.7 percent for
2019. So why did it again raise rates, over
the protests of
commentators, including the president himself?

For
its barometer, the Fed looks at whether the economy has hit “full
employment,” which it considers to be 4.7 percent unemployment,
taking into account the “natural rate of unemployment” of people
between jobs or voluntarily out of work. At full employment, workers
are expected to demand more wages, causing prices to rise. But
unemployment is now officially at 3.7 percent—beyond technical
full employment—and neither wages nor consumer prices have shot up.
There is obviously something wrong with the theory, as is evident
from a look
at Japan ,
where prices have long refused to rise despite a serious lack of
workers.

The
official unemployment figures are actually misleading. Including
short-term discouraged workers, the rate of U.S. unemployed or
underemployed workers as of May 2018 was 7.6 percent, double
the widely reported rate .
When long-term discouraged workers are included, the
real unemployment figure was 21.5 percent .
Beyond that large untapped pool of workers, there is the seemingly
endless supply of cheap labor from abroad and the expanding labor
potential of robots, computers and machines. In fact, the economy’s
ability to generate supply in response to demand is far from reaching
full capacity today.

Our
central bank is driving us into another recession based on bad
economic theory. Adding money to the economy for productive,
non-speculative purposes will not drive up prices so long as
materials and workers (human or mechanical) are available to create
the supply necessary to meet demand; and they are available now.
There will always be price increases in particular markets when there
are shortages, bottlenecks, monopolies or patents limiting
competition, but these increases are not due to an economy awash with
money. Housing, health care, education and gas have all gone up, but
it is not because people have too much money to spend. In fact it is
those necessary expenses that are driving people into unrepayable
debt, and it is this massive debt overhang that is preventing
economic growth.

Without
some form of debt jubilee, the debt bubble will continue to grow
until it can again no longer be sustained. A UBI can help correct
that problem without fear of “overheating” the economy, so long
as the new money is limited to filling the gap between real and
potential productivity and goes into generating jobs, building
infrastructure and providing for the needs of the people, rather than
being diverted into the speculative, parasitic economy that feeds off
them.

Wat betreft de kop: niet
dat China een claim heeft gelegd op Okinawa, maar toch wil de Trump administratie de
oorlogsstemming jegens China verder
vergroten….. Deze door de VS steeds verder uitgebouwde agressie jegens China is een teken dat
de VS ook de Oost-Chinese zee wil blijven beheersen, niet omdat dit
binnen de territoriale wateren van de VS ligt, maar om haar macht over het gebied te
bestendigen en daarmee haar eigenbelang te behartigen…..

De
VS heeft een grote bek over de ‘expansie’ van China, terwijl het zelf
meer dan 800 militaire bases heeft over de wereld, waarvan een paar op het Japanse Okinawa.
Voorts is het meer dan belachelijk dat de VS nog steeds Hawaï tot
haar grondgebied mag rekenen, hetzelfde geldt voor Puerto Rico en Alaska……. Je kan trouwens rustig stellen dat landen met veel VS bases op haar grondgebied, door de VS worden gecontroleerd…… Zo durft Japan nu ook haar leger verder uit te bouwen en heeft het land het voornemen haar leger in het buitenland in te zetten, niet zoals nu al in VN verband, maar ook ter bescherming van Japanse belangen, dit in strijd met eerder gemaakte afspraken (na de terreur van Japan tijdens WOII), dit alles daar de Trump administratie daar geen bezwaar tegen heeft……

De VS nagelt China aan de paal voor agressie in de Zuid- en Oost-Chinese Zee, terwijl de VS oorlogsschepen niets te zoeken hebben in die zeeën en het op zich al een daad van agressie is dat die schepen daar manoeuvres houden!

De
allergrootste schande is wel dat de VS denkt overal op de wereld de de stabiliteit ten behoeve van eigenbelang te kunnen verstoren en daarbij de wereld steeds verder naar
de rand van WOIII voert…… Niet voor niets is de VS de grootste terreurentiteit op aarde!

US
To Hold “First-Ever” Missile Drill On Japan’s Okinawa

The
US Military will conduct its first-ever missile drill on the Japanese
Island of Okinawa, located in the East China Sea, as
Washington attempts to counter an increasingly aggressive
China. Japan
Times reported
on Thursday that the US military had notified Japan’s government
that it would deploy anti-ship missile systems around the
strategically important island this year, the original story was
released by Sankei Shimbun.

The
war exercise would fortify the island with possible
truck-mounted anti-ship cruise missile systems seen as a
countermeasure to potential attacks from Chinese surface-to-sea
ballistic rockets, the paper said.

China
has repeatedly railed against US military expansion in Asia and the
Pacific, describing the presence as a source of regional
instability. In the last several years, Chinese warships
have navigated near Okinawa, where roughly half of the
54,000 American troops are stationed, in an attempt to curb US
military dominance in the East China Sea.

To
counter the treat, Japan, has, in turn, postured its military along
the Japanese archipelago, a group of 6,852 islands
that extends over 1,850 miles from the Sea of Okhotsk northeast
to the Philippine Sea south along the northeastern coast of the
Eurasia continent.

Some
military strategists believe Beijing seeks to end
US military dominance in the western Pacific by exerting
control of the second island chain that links Japan’s southern
Ogasawara islands, the US territory of Guam, and Indonesia, said The
Japan Times.

China’s
rapid military build-up in the South China Sea has frightened
its Asian neighbors, with Japan’s defense chief last year
indicating China had been “unilaterally escalating” its military
war drills in the previous year.

Okinawa’s
strategic location between the Philippine, East China and South China
Seas makes it a critical military outpost to preserve freedom
of navigation of US warships and defend American security
interests in the region. Okinawa’s proximity to China, Taiwan,
the Korean Peninsula, and Japan supports rapid deployment of US
marines to anywhere in the Eastern Hemisphere.

America’s
presence on the island is also a critical component of its
strategy to preserve peace on the Korean Peninsula.

Washington
remains massively invested in Okinawa as a means of policing
Asia and supporting Japan in its national defense, an obligation
that started when the US signed the Security Treaty with Japan
in 1960.

While
America has hundreds of military bases around the world, the Okinawa
base with future missile drills this year could be an indication that
conflict with China is nearing in the East China Sea.

je nog steeds in het sprookje ‘Russiagate’ gelooft heb je heel wat
echte informatie gemist, informatie zoals die in het hieronder opgenomen
artikel. Daarin wordt bericht over een bedrijf dat in de VS al aan de
Russische trollenweg heeft getimmerd, maar nu door de mand is gevallen
als de baas van een leger met nep-Russische bots…..

Ryan
Fox en Jonathan Morgan, die het bedrijf New Knowledge (cybersecurity
company) leiden, een bedrijf dat desinformatie online in de gaten
houdt, schreven op 6 november jl. een artikel in de New York Times,
waarin ze verhaalden over de Russische pogingen om de VS verkiezingen
te manipuleren……..

Ongelofelijk
als je ziet wat deze 2 leugenaars te berde brachten over de
zogenaamde Russische bemoeienis met de VS verkiezingen, ze gingen
zelfs zover te stellen dat Facebook en Twitter meer werden
‘misbruikt’ door de Russen, dan die 2 platforms zelf hebben
aangegeven..

De
reguliere media moeten zich de ogen uit de kop schamen, deze leugens zo hysterisch uit te venten als waarheid, waarbij ze de VS en haar
oorlogshond de NAVO helpen een oorlog te ontketenen tussen Rusland en
het westen, nu nog Koude Oorlog 2.0, echter de grens naar een ‘hete
oorlog’ met Rusland is dichterbij dan ooit tevoren, dichterbij dan
tijdens de eerste Koude Oorlog…..

De
feiten die aantonen dat Russiagate een ‘hoax’ is, zijn zo
grootschalig voorhanden, dat je niet begrijpt waar die reguliere
media het lef vandaan halen deze willens en wetens over het hoofd te
zien en het publiek warm te maken voor een oorlog tegen Rusland (die maar één uitkomst kan hebben: WOIII….),
nogmaals op basis van leugens (hetzelfde geldt overigens ook voor
China, dat door diezelfde media steeds vaker als misdadig wordt
neergezet middels leugencampagnes, waarbij men haat en angst zaait
tegen/voor dit land)

Lees het volgende artikel en zie hoe men de Russen meer en meer demoniseert, alles gebaseerd op dikke vette leugens, zeg maar zoals de VS met haar hielenlikkers in de rest van het westen oorlogen is gestart op basis van louter smerige leugens…….. That Warned Americans Of Russian Bots… Was Running An Army Of Fake

The
co-founders of cybersecurity firm New Knowledge warned Americans in
November to “remain vigilant” in the face of “Russian efforts”
to meddle in US elections. This month, they have been exposed for
doing just that themselves.

Ryan
Fox and Jonathan Morgan, who run the New Knowledge cybersecurity
company which claims to “monitor
disinformation”online, penned a
foreboding op-ed in the New York Times on November 6, about “the
Russians” and
their nefarious efforts to influence American elections.

At
the time, it struck me that Fox and Morgan’s reasoning seemed a
little far-fetched. For example, one of the pieces of evidence
presented to prove that Russia had targeted American elections was
that lots of people had posted links to RT’s content online. Hardly
a smoking gun worthy of a Times oped.

Morgan
and Fox, intrepid cyber sleuths that they are, claimed in the article
they had detected more “overall
activity” from
ongoing Russian influence campaigns than social media companies like
Facebook and Twitter had yet revealed — or that other researchers
had been able to identify.

The
New Knowledge guys even authored a Senate Intelligence Committee
report on Russia’s alleged efforts to mess with American democracy.
They called
it a “propaganda
war against American citizens.” Impressive
stuff. They must be really good at their job, right?

This
week, however, we learned that New Knowledge was running its own
disinformation campaign (or “propaganda
war against Americans,” you
could say), complete with fake Russian bots designed to discredit
Republican candidate Roy Moore as a Russia-preferred candidate when
he was running for the US senate in Alabama in 2017.

The
scheme was
exposed by
the New York Times — the paper that just over a month earlier
published that aforementioned oped, in which Fox and Morgan
pontificated about Russian interference online.

New
Knowledge created a mini-army of fake Russian bots and fake Facebook
groups. The accounts, which had Russian names, were made to follow
Moore. An internal company memo boasted that New Knowledge
had “orchestrated
an elaborate ‘false flag’ operation that planted the idea that the
Moore campaign was amplified on social media by a Russian botnet.”

Moore
lost the race by 1.5 percent. To be fair, accusations published by
the Washington Post that he pursued underage girls back in the 1980s
may have had something to do with it as well, but that’s a
different story.

Of
course, New Knowledge and even the New York Times, which blew the lid
of the operation, are trying to spin this as some kind of “small
experiment” during
which they “imitated
Russian tactics” online
to see how they worked. Just for research, of course. They have also
both claimed that the scheme, dubbed ‘Project Birmingham’ had
almost no effect on the outcome of the race.

The
money for the so-called research project came from Reid Hoffman, the
billionaire co-founder of LinkedIn, who contributed $750,000 to
American Engagement Technologies (AET), which then spent $100,000 on
the New Knowledge experiment. After the scheme was exposed, Hoffman
offered a public
apology,
saying he didn’t know exactly how the money had been used and
admitting that the tactics were “highly
disturbing.”

If
people like Fox and Morgan actually cared about so-called Russian
meddling or the integrity of American elections, they would not have
run the deceptive campaign against Moore, no matter how undesirable
he was as a candidate. Their sneaky and deceitful methods are in
total contrast to the public profile they have cultivated for
themselves as a firm fighting the good fight for the public good. But
is it really that much of a surprise?

You
would think that a newspaper like the New York Times would have
cottoned on to the fact that guys like Fox and Morgan, with their
histories in
the US military and intelligence agencies, have clear agendas and are
not exactly squeaky clean or the most credible sources of information
when it comes to anything to do with Russia. But that kind of insight
or circumspection might be too much to ask for in the age of
Russiagate.

Facebook
removed Morgan’s account on Saturday for “engaging
in coordinated inauthentic behavior” around
the Alabama election. Three days after publishing its initial article
on the scandal (the one in which it played down the effects of New
Knowledge’s disinfo campaign), the New York Times published
a follow-up
piece about
the Facebook removal, in which it admitted that the controversy would
be a “stinging
embarrassment” for
the social media researcher, noting that he had been a “leading
voice” against
supposed Russian disinformation campaigns.

In
Fox and Morgan’s original NYT oped, they warned of the
ubiquitous “Russia-linked
social media accounts” and
estimated that “at
least hundreds of thousands, and perhaps even millions” of
US citizens had engaged with them online. One must now wonder, were
they including their own fake Russian bots in that count, or were
they leaving those ones out?

It’s
nearly two years into the Trump presidency and still we have no solid
evidence that the Russian “collusion” theory
is anything more than a fantasy concocted by Democrats desperate to
provide a more palatable reason for Hillary Clinton’s loss than the
fact that she simply ran a bad campaign.

In
fact, at this point, we actually have more solid and irrefutable
evidence of election meddling from the likes of dodgy American and
British companies like Cambridge
Analytica and
New Knowledge than we do of any meddling orchestrated by Russia.

‘Vrede op aarde en in de mensen een welbehagen’, kerst 2019 en ‘het meer dan arme militair-industrieel complex’ dreigt te worden getroffen door een plotse ommezwaai in het buitenlandbeleid van de VS…… ‘De arme aandeelhouders’ van deze ‘vredelievende’ industrie dreigen een lager dividend te ontvangen als de plannen van Trump nog grotere vormen aannemen, dus terugtrekking uit meer gebieden waar de VS illegaal oorlog voert…….. (Je had hoop ik wel begrepen dat het voorgaande sarcastisch bedoeld is) Vrede op aarde is verder weg dan ooit tevoren, althans als je spreekt over de laatste 10 jaar……

Ongelofelijk
is de rol van de reguliere media als het gaat om die illegale
oorlogsvoering, dat bleek wel nadat Trump aankondigde dat hij de
troepen terugtrekt uit Syrië, waar de VS volkomen illegaal militair opereert.
Niet alleen veel politici in Washington schreeuwden moord en brand, alsof Trump een deel van de VS had weggeven aan aartsrivaal Rusland, nee ook de media in de VS deden een dikke duit in de zak
met hun kritiek op deze stap die een eind zal maken aan één van de misdadige
militaire VS operaties in het buitenland…….

Beste
bezoeker het kan nog veel gekker: terwijl de VS in 2017 al veel meer
uitgaf dan de volgende landen gezamenlijk, te weten >> Rusland,
China, Groot-Brittannië, Saoedi-Arabië, India, Frankrijk en Japan,
roffelen de reguliere (massa-) media op de oorlogstrom en eisen ze
dat de VS meer uitgeeft aan oorlogsvoering, ten koste van de sociale
zekerheid en Medicare…….. De laatste VS begroting t.b.v. het ministerie van oorlog is zelfs nog groter dan die in 2017, een bedrag dat zelfs de 700 miljard ver te boven gaat, daarmee heeft en zal de VS een nog groter deel van het budget uitgeven aan oorlogsvoering, meer dan ooit tevoren in de geschiedenis……

Echter de reguliere media in de VS durven te zeggen dat de VS de vaardigheid mist om zichzelf te verdedigen……. ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha!

Een dooddoener van jewelste, die men in deze media gebruikt om e.e.a.
te rechtvaardigen, alsof de veiligheid van de VS op het spel staat…….. Vreemd genoeg staat voor deze media die VS-veiligheid niet op het spel voor de kusten van de VS, of aan de grenzen met
Canada en Mexico, nee die veiligheid staat op het spel in het Midden-Oosten, in de Zuid-Chinese Zee en aan de
westgrenzen van Rusland, blijkbaar zijn dat VS
grondgebieden dan wel territoriale wateren…….

Nogmaals
een teken dat de reguliere media in handen zijn van miljardairs en
investeringsgroepen, die er als aandeelhouders alle belang bij hebben
dat de wapenfabrikanten (natuurlijk inclusief de fabrikanten van rollend, vliegend en varend oorlogstuig) zoveel mogelijk winst maken en het daarmee
goed blijven doen op de beurs…….

Lees het
volgende artikel van Alan Macleod, eerder verschenen op FAIR en door mij overgenomen van Anti-Media, en geeft het door, tijd dat
het grootste deel van het volk wakker wordt en ziet dat we moeten
stoppen in te zetten op dood en vernietiging, i.p.v. het geluk van de
mensheid te bevorderen en in het verlengde daarvan pogingen ondernemen om de

(FAIR) — It
is a sign of our times that our media attempt to decipher future
government policy by analyzing the president’s tweets, like some
bizarre game of telephone. Throughout November, there was speculation
of a coming reduction in military spending, and when Donald Trump
took to Twitter (12/3/18)
to describe the $716 billion budget as “crazy,” media took this
as confirmation.

The
prospect of a cut to the military elicited a storm of condemnation
across the media landscape. The National
Review (11/17/18)
wrote that “cutting the resources available to the Pentagon is a
bad idea,” noting that, “for decades, America has short-changed
defense” meaning “America’s ability to defend its allies, its
partners, and its own vital interests is increasingly in doubt.” In
an article headlined “Don’t Cut Military Spending Mr. President”
(Wall
Street Journal, 11/29/18), Senate and House Armed Services committee chairs James Inhofe
and Mac Thornberry claimed the military is in “crisis” after
“inadequate budgets for nearly a decade,” and that “any cut in
the Defense budget would be a senseless step backward.”

More
centrist outlets concurred. Forbes
Magazine (11/26/18)
began its article with the words, “The security and well-being of
the United States are at greater risk than at any time in decades,”
recommending a “sensible and consistent increase” to the
budget. Bloomberg (19/11/18)
recommended a consistent increase in military spending of 3 percent
above inflation for five to ten years, while Reuters (12/4/18)
noted the increased “risk” of a lower military budget.

Max
Boot (Washington
Post, 12/12/18)
argues that the US needs to both raise taxes and cut Social Security
and Medicare in order to ensure its military’s ability to invade
Lithuania.

What
exactly was this “risk” that media were so worried about? Max
Boot, neo-con fellow of the Council on Foreign Relations—who
apparently still supports
the Iraq War and
demanded ones in Syriaand Libya,
while arguing that
America should become
a world empire—articulated
the risk in the Washington
Post (12/12/18).
Describing a reduction in military spending as “suicide,” and
claiming the US is in a “full-blown national security crisis,” he
cited the work of a blue-ribbon panel that called for continuous
hikes in military spending:

“If
the United States had to fight Russia in a Baltic contingency or
China in a war over Taiwan, Americans could face a decisive military
defeat,” the report warns. “These two nations possess
precision-strike capabilities, integrated air defenses, cruise and
ballistic missiles, advanced cyberwarfare and anti-satellite
capabilities, significant air and naval forces, and nuclear weapons—a
suite of advanced capabilities heretofore possessed only by the
United States.”… So we’re in deep trouble. We are losing the
military edge that has underpinned our security and prosperity since
1945.

Thus,
the crisis is that the US could not be assured of destroying the
Russian military in a Baltic war or the Chinese in the South China
Sea. It is important to note that these necessary wars of defense
would not be happening in Maine or California, but thousands of miles
away, on the doorsteps of our geopolitical rivals. Boot presents
these wars on the other side of the world as impossible to avoid—“if
the US had to
fight”—continuing a tradition of presenting the US as stumbling
or being reluctantly dragged into wars against its will, that we at
FAIR (6/22/17)
have cataloged.

In
reality, more
than half of
all US discretionary spending goes to the military, and its
war-related spending is a much larger percentage of its budget than
in comparable countries—3–5
times as much as
Canada, Germany or Japan. In fact, the US spends almost as much on
its military as all other countries in the world put together,
according to the Stockholm
International Peace Research Institute,(SIPRI) and has around 800 (official)
foreign military bases, placed on every inhabited continent of the
world.

Even
these figures do not include military pensions and veterans’
healthcare, or nuclear weapons, and therefore the true total is
possibly greater than all other countries combined. Military spending
is approaching the
highest in recorded history of any country, and the increase in
military spending Trump approved last year alone would be enough to
make public colleges and universities across the US free
to all.

Bloomberg
(19/11/18)
suggests giving the Pentagon an additional $1.3 trillion over ten
years would “restore sanity to military spending.”

Considering
the problems of unemployment, poverty, climate change and
infrastructure in the US, perhaps tooling up for an intercontinental
war against two nuclear-armed superpowers is not the most effective
use of trillions of dollars. That reducing a $716 billion war budget
can be presented as a threat to the nation, and that “defense”
can refer to wars in Taiwan or the Baltic, illustrates the depth of
the media’s imperial mindset, and goes to show President Dwight
Eisenhower’s warning about
the power of the military industrial complex went unheeded.

The
media needn’t have worried, as the military industrial complex
usually gets its way. President Trump, “with the help of Senator
Inhofe and Chairman Thornberry,” according to the Defense
Department (London Independent, 12/10/18),
agreed to increase the
military budget after all, to $750 billion. A lot of people are going
to get rich—not least of all Senator Inhofe, who quietly purchased
tens of thousands of dollars in Raytheon stock after he met with
Trump (CNN, 12/13/18).
Raytheon is the world’s largest producer of guided missiles, and is
sure to reap a huge windfall from the spending boom.

This
whole affair illustrates the important and worrying links between the
media, “defense” contractors and politicians. But at least the
terrible risk to the United States has been avoided. Those
defenseless Air Force Generals and Defense contractors can finally
sleep easy at night.

Zo gaf Nederland onlangs toestemming om onderdelen van wapensystemen te leveren aan de fascistische terreurstaat Saoedi-Arabië, die in buurland Jemen een genocide uitvoert op de sjiitische bewoners van dat land…….. De verdediging voor die Nederlandse exportvergunning verleend door Rutte 3: de enorme leugen dat het niet zou gaan om wapenleveringen……

Mensen dat was het voor deze dag, morgen meer berichten, maak er als het even kan een mooie dag van en laat je niet gek maken door de kersthysterie (ik hoop voorts dat je gevrijwaard bent van knal en siervuurwerk, het laatste uur is het hier in de buurt van het Haagse centrum al bijna oud en nieuw….)

Nederlandse rechter oordeelt dat gestolen Boeddhabeeld niet terug hoeft naar Chinees dorp >> waar een klein land als Nederland al niet ‘groot’ in kan zijn…….

De rechter heeft onlangs geoordeeld dat een in 1995 gestolen Boeddhabeeld niet terug hoeft naar het Chinese dorp YangChun…… De Nederlander Oscar van Overeem kocht het beeld in 1996 in Hongkong. Het beeld bevat een deel van het skelet van heelmeester/monnik Zhanggong Zushi, uit de Song-dynastie (960-1279), het skelet ontdekte men tijdens een MRI scan van het beeld.

Het beeld dat Van Overeem in de jaren negentig kocht en een scan waarop de menselijke resten duidelijk te zien zijn.

Het bewuste Boeddhabeeld

Van Overeem die het beeld van een heler kocht weigert het beeld terug te geven, waarop een comité van het Chinese dorp een rechtszaak in China en Nederland aanspande tegen van Overeem.

Om te laten zien dat het de rechterlijke macht ‘ernst is’ geroofde kunstschatten terug te geven aan de oorspronkelijke eigenaren, stelde deze dat het dorpscomité geen rechtspersoon is en derhalve geen recht heeft, het uit het dorp gestolen Boeddhabeeld terug te eisen……. Dit terwijl het beeld een tekst bevat waaruit ten overvloede nog eens blijkt dat het beeld toebehoort aan YangChun.

Intussen heeft de heler van het beeld, in feite is Overeem dat, het beeld geruild met een andere verzamelaar, van wie hij weigert de naam vrij te geven…… Ofwel: deze plork weet dondersgoed dat hij helemaal fout zit……. Hij voegde de Chinese dorpsbewoners toe dat hij het beeld niet meer in het bezit heeft en ze dus niet bij hem moeten zijn, kortom van Overeem fungeerde zelf ook nog eens als heler en dat is nog steeds een misdaad in Nederland…… Geen reden voor de rechter om het OM te gelasten een strafrechtelijk onderzoek te starten…….

Onbegrijpelijk dat de rechter zo heeft beslist en wat mij betreft is dit ten overvloede een teken dat we te maken hebben met klassenjustitie in Nederland, immers van Overeem is een welgestelde architect en kunstverzamelaar, die het beeld kocht voor € 40.000,–, een teken dat hij op z’n zachtst gezegd goed in de slappe was zit……

Vreemd dat de politiek niet heeft gereageerd op deze zaak, zeker nadat godbetert de neoliberale ploert Macron bekend maakte dat Frankrijk zoveel mogelijk geroofde kunst uit haar musea zal teruggeven aan de rechtmatige eigenaren…….

Weer staat Nederland internationaal voor paal…… (ach ja dat zijn we gewend…..)

BBC HardTalk Steven Sackur uiterst hypocriet in gesprek met Pakistaans minister Asad Umar

Vanmiddag na 16.00 u. (CET) op BBC World Service radio het programma HardTalk met presentator Steven Sackur. Vandaag sprak deze regeringsgetrouwe plork met de Pakistaanse minister van financiën Asad Umar.

Weer eens flink fanatiek ging Sackur tekeer tegen Umar, bijvoorbeeld over de financiële hulp van Saoedi-Arabië en China aan Pakistan. Uiteraard begon Sackur over de moord op journalist Khashoggi en verweet hij de minister zaken te doen met S-A…… ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Groot-Brittannië doet al decennia zaken met S-A, vooral wapenzaken wapens die de Saoediërs hebben gebruikt (en gebruiken) om enorme bloedbaden aan te richten, niet alleen in eigen land tegen de sjiitische bewoners, maar ook in Jemen….. De Saoedische terreurcoalitie voert zelfs een genocide uit tegen de sjiitische bewoners van Jemen, waarbij het land gebruik maakt van Britse wapens, munitie, plus Brits rollend, varend en vliegend oorlogstuig…….

Jammer dat Umar van het laatste niet op de hoogte was, of wist van de Britse training van Saoedische militairen, iets wat Sackur even later Pakistan verweet……. Gelukkig dat Umar nog wel stelde dat het westen ondanks Khashoggi nog steeds geld verdient aan Saoedi-Arabië….. Daarop stelde Sackur dat wanneer Trump op dat moment voor hem had gezeten, hij hem ook aan de tand zou voelen over winsten behaald met handel op S-A…… Alsof GB zelf niet nog steeds geld verdient aan S-A, oh ja dom van mij, dat geld komt van contracten die al werden afgesloten voor Khashoggi’s dood en zeg nou zelf, de dood van Khashoggi is veel erger dan de genocide in Jemen, al meer dan 3 jaar gaande en waar elke 10 minuten een kind sterft, ‘ja toch..??’

Misschien wel het meest belachelijke was wel de kritiek van Sackur op de ondervoeding van kinderen in Pakistan en de algehele armoede daar……. Elke dag gaan er in GB meer dan 4 miljoen kinderen met honger naar school, daar hun ouders zelfs het geld ontbreekt om een ontbijt te kunnen betalen en dat in een heel rijk land, zeker vergeleken met Pakistan!!! Heel jammer dat Umar daar niet van op de hoogte was……

Sackur is een trouwe lakei van het ijskoude, inhumane neoliberalisme, waar hij de grootschalige Britse neokoloniale terreur (als schoothond van de VS) in Afghanistan, het Midden-Oosten en Noord-Afrika altijd heeft gesteund……. Wat een smerige hypocriet, gadver!!

Begrijp me goed, ik ben bepaald geen aanhanger van de huidige of eerdere Pakistaanse regeringen, maar GB heeft in het verleden niet anders gedaan dan steun verlenen aan de ene na de andere Pakistaanse dictator of corrupte democratisch gekozen heerser……. Bovendien maakt het Britse bedrijfsleven, zoals andere westerse bedrijven, maar al te graag gebruik van de corruptie in Pakistan, ze koesteren deze corruptie zelfs, daar het de winsten snel doet groeien…..

Sackur moet de oren van z’n kop schamen!!!

Oh ja, nog vergeten: Sackur had ook commentaar op de Chinese investeringen in Pakistan, uiteraard gaat dit ten koste van Britse bedrijven, waar China meteen de infrastructuur in een Pakistaanse provincie aan zal pakken, iets wat westerse landen en bedrijven niet doen……

Gisternacht
werd bekend gemaakt dat Canada op 1 december de topvrouw van o.a.
smartphone fabrikant Huawei, Meng Wanzhou (ook de dochter van de Huawei oprichter) heeft gearresteerd op
verzoek van de grootste terreurentiteit op aarde, de VS…….

Huawei
zou de sancties van de VS tegen Iran hebben overtreden……..

Wat is
dit voor kul, alsof de VS een verantwoordelijk wereldheerser is en
niet een psychopathische massamoordenaar?!! Als de VS het bedrijven
moeilijk maakt om zaken te doen in de VS, wanneer ze de door haar opgelegde
sancties overtreden, is dat al te zot voor woorden, maar dit slaat werkelijk alles!!

De VS heeft volkomen onterecht het nucleaire verdrag met Iran, de P5+1 nucleaire deal, ofwel het Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) opgezegd. Ondanks dat de andere partijen in die deal het niet eens zijn met de Trump administratie, denkt de VS haar terreurwetgeving internationaal op te kunnen leggen……. In plaats van te demonstreren tegen de arrestatie van Huawei, deden de politici van andere landen die de deal sloten, er het zwijgen toe, om na korte tijd mee te gaan blèren in het valse VS koor dat Huawei niet alleen sancties overtrad, maar ook spioneert voor de Chinese overheid…… Men wilde in de rest van de westerse politiek geen commentaar geven op de arrestatie, daar dit behoorlijk vreemd zou zijn, gezien het eerder genoemde verdrag, vandaar ook dat men blij was met het lamme spionageverhaal waarmee men China kan bestoken……..

Zoals te verwachten was steunen ook de reguliere westerse (massa-) media de VS bij de arrestatie van Wanzhou, waar ze meteen even de nieuwste demonisering van China meenemen: het zojuist al aangehaalde spionageverhaal over o.a. de toestellen van Huawei, waarmee de Chinese overheid het westen zou kunnen bespioneren…… ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Zo de waard is vertrouwt deze de gasten! Immers als er nu één land is dat alles en iedereen bespioneert is het de VS wel, zelfs de smartphone van Merkel, die het met de VS bevriende Duitsland politiek leidt, was niet veilig voor deze vereniging van terreurstaten…… Kortom deze media brengen ‘onvervalste’ anti-Chinese propaganda……

Zie verder de ambassades van de VS over de wereld, de grootste spionage bolwerken, zelfs die in ons Den Haag! Voorts bespioneert de VS grote bedrijven in het buitenland, om zo voordelen ten behoeve van grote VS bedrijven te vinden…… Als de Chinezen belangrijke politici of leiders van grote bedrijven willen bespioneren, doen ze dat echt niet via de telefoons van Huawei, ze hacken dan simpelweg de telefoon of (andere) computer van die personen, of die nu van Huawei, Samsung, Apple* of welk merk dan ook zijn…….. Wat een kul!

Het is duidelijk dat de VS met deze arrestatie, waarvan Trudeau en Trump keihard logen dat ze daarvan niet vooraf op de hoogte waren, grote Chinese bedrijven wil treffen en de truc schijnt gelukt te zijn als je de volkomen ten onrechte gezaaide haat en angst tegen/voor Chinese smartphone fabrikanten in alleen al de Nederlandse reguliere media ziet………

Hoe is het in godsnaam mogelijk dat de reguliere media zo keihard durven te liegen en onrust durven te zaaien, terwijl de valsheid van de claims er dik bovenop liggen, waarschijnlijk schat men het grootste deel van haar gebruikers in als niet nadenkende imbecielen, die men werkelijk alles kan voorkauwen en kan hersenspoelen met smerige sprookjes……. Ach ja, dom van mij, immers de reguliere westerse media zijn er vooral om de huidige inhumane neoliberale status quo te beschermen, bescherming van alles wat fout is, zoals het goedpraten van de illegale oorlogen die de VS her en der voert…… Alles in het belang van de eigenaren van die media, de westerse politiek, het militair-industrieel complex, de oliemaffia, de financiële maffia en de aandeelhouders van grote bedrijven…….

Nogmaals
we moeten als de donder af van het internationaal betalingssysteem
SWIFT, dat in feite een door de VS gestuurd mechanisme is en waar de
dollar als enig internationaal betaalmiddel wordt gezien…..
Gelukkig zijn Rusland en China al bezig met een eigen internationaal
betalingssysteem.

Vergeleken
met de VS is Iran een vredelievende staat, iedereen die het
interesseert kan dit controleren, de VS is de werkelijke terreurstaat
en richt vooral in het Midden-Oosten de ene massamoord na de andere aan, waarbij het de wereldstabiliteit steeds verder aantast…….

Het is
dan ook de hoogste tijd voor sancties tegen de VS, een
psychopathische oorlogsvoerder, die alleen deze eeuw al meer dan 2,5
miljoen mensen heeft vermoord……. Kan de wereld meteen alle bases

(MEE) — Canada
arrested China’s Huawei Technology’s chief financial officer for
allegedly violating US sanctions on Iran, the Wall Street Journal
reported on Wednesday.

Meng
Wanzhou faces possible extradition to the US, WSJ added. A Canadian
justice department spokesperson said she was arrested on 1 December.

A
Huawei spokesman said the arrest happened as Meng was transferring
flights.

“The
company has been provided very little information regarding the
charges and is not aware of any wrongdoing by Ms Meng,” he said.

“The
company believes the Canadian and US legal systems will ultimately
reach a just conclusion.”

Canada has arrested Huawei’s global chief financial officer in Vancouver

Wanzhou Meng is facing extradition to the United States on suspicion she violated U.S. trade sanctions against Iran.

Meng’s
bail hearing is set for Friday, according to a Globe and Mail report,
citing Canada’s Justice Department spokesman Ian McLeod.

Meng’s
arrest follows a strict set of US sanctions on Iranian oil and
banking that was implemented in November but allowed a number of
countries, including China, temporary waivers.

According
to a Wall Street Journal report in April, the US Department of
Justice had launched a criminal probe into Huawei for its alleged
trade with Iran, and both the Commerce Department and Treasury
Department had issued subpoenas for a potential violation of US
sanctions.

Huawei
is the world’s largest manufacturer of cellular-tower electronics
and the third-biggest smart phone producer.

Meng’s
arrest happened on the same day that US President Donald Trump and
Chinese leader Xi Jinping met to discuss a possible truce to their
ongoing trade war.

US
Senator Ben Sasse, a Republican, said the arrest was made to protect
American interests.

“Americans
are grateful that our Canadian partners have arrested the chief
financial officer of a giant Chinese telecom company for breaking US
sanctions against Iran,” he said.

This
isn’t the first time that the US has penalised Chinese
telecommunication companies for potential sanctions violations.

In
2017, Chinese telecommunications rival ZTE paid the US almost $900m
in fines for alleged business deals with Iran.

De luchtmacht van de VS ondergaat momenteel de grootste uitbreiding sinds het eind van de Koude Oorlog. Jakob Reimann, de schrijver van het hieronder opgenomen artikel, zegt dat het niet duidelijk is waarom de VS dit nu doet…….. ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Gezien de agressie van de VS tegen China en Rusland, lijkt het me wel meer dan duidelijk: de VS wil oorlogvoeren met zowel Rusland als China!!

Eerder gaf een VS generaal al aan dat de VS doende is zich voor te bereiden op een meerfrontenoorlog, waar Rusland en China zeker twee van de doelwitten zijn…… Men gelooft in de VS stellig dat een kernoorlog is te overleven, bovendien zo zal men denken zullen er vooral veel arme VS burgers omkomen, is meteen het werklozen probleem en de diepe armoede* opgelost, twee vliegen in 1 klap, hoewel dat zijn er met Rusland en China al 4 en hoogstwaarschijnlijk zullen ook Iran en Noord-Korea worden aangevallen, kijk ‘dat tikt aan……’

The Air Force is undergoing its biggest expansion since the end of the Cold War, and the reasons are clear.

(FPIF Op-ed) — In September, at the Air Force Association’s annual Space & Cyber Conference, Heather Wilson — Donald Trump’s Secretary of the U.S. Air Force — presented the Trump administration’s new roadmap for the U.S. Air Force: the historic expansion of the already, by far, largest air force in the world.

Wilson identified the perceived context of the new expansionist developments right at the start of her 30-minute speech — Russia conducted its largest military exercise on “Russian soil in four decades,” she said, and China sent its first operational aircraft carrier into the Pacific and has “militarized” the South China Sea — and thus exposed at the same time the old dilemma of global security policy: The one’s defense looks quite like offense to the other, and vice versa.

The Largest Expansion Since the End of the Cold War

Secretary Wilson explained that the U.S. Air Force will expand its current operational squadrons — which she martially called “the clenched fist of American resolve” — from 312 to 386 between 2025 and 2030. That’s an increase of 25 percent — the largest expansion ever since the end of the Cold War.

A squadron consists of 12 to 24 aircraft. Wilson’s expansion thus corresponds to well over 1,000 new bombers, fighter jets, and drones, as well as reconnaissance and refueling aircraft. Approximately $25 billion will be added to the annual Air Force budget, and no less than 40,000 additional staff will be needed. That amounts to the Trump administration reversing recent trends, as the Air Force has “drastically downsized in past years,” Military.com reports.

Foreign Policy received exclusive insight into the composition of these 74 new squadrons. The largest percentage increase among the various squadrons is attributed to the bomber squadrons: aircraft that can be equipped with nuclear weapons and, above all, aim at the destruction of stationary targets such as buildings or other massive infrastructure — but not mobile combat units — which is largely interpreted as a shift in strategic focus towards wars against nations, not terrorist groups.

There is also a massive increase in the number of refueling aircraft, which are currently deployed in support of the Saudi-Emirati war against the civilian population of Yemen — an air war, waged across the endless deserts of the Arabian Peninsula, that would be virtually impossible without U.S. air-refueling.

Another central theme in Wilson‘s speech was the creation of a Space Force as the sixth branch of the military. Donald Trump initially understood that project as a joke, but then quickly recognized it as a catchy slogan that was well received by his base. In March, he finally included the Space Force (USSF)into the national security strategy.

“Space is a war-fighting domain, just like the land, air, and sea”, Trump stated, although his White House, the U.S. Air Force, and Secretary of Defense James Mattis have vehemently opposed this move in the past. “We can no longer view space as a function, it is a war-fighting mission,” Air Force Secretary Heather Wilson told a crowd of applauding military staff in her speech in National Harbor, Maryland. The military, Wilson promised, is working to “put a war fighter’s focus on space operation.”

New Fighter Jets at Russia’s Borders

In recent years, NATO has carried out its largest troop deployment on its eastern flank — right at the Russian border — since the fading of the Cold War in the 1980s. At the insistence of German Defense Minister Ursula von der Leyen, a new NATO headquarters is being set up in Germany for the purpose of coordinating the movement of these troops. And with the establishment of the “Military Schengen” area, the rapid and unbureaucratic deployment of troops across Europe’s borders should be guaranteed.

In the wake of this escalating militarization of the European continent, the U.S. Air Force massively increased its presence at Russia’s doorstep too.

In all NATO countries in Eastern Europe, the U.S. Air Force is investing multimillion-dollar sums in the expansion of its air bases: with more than $50 million pouring into a base in Hungary, more than $60 million allocated to the modernization of two air force bases in Romania, and two bases in Slovakia that will be upgraded with more than $ 100 million, besides various base upgrades in other countries in the region.

The majority of these funds are dedicated to explicitly war-related investments such as new hangars for fighter jets or facilities to store weapons and fuel. In addition to hundreds of soldiers, the U.S. Air Force also recently sent several dozens of new fighter jets to Romania alone, including twelve A-10 Thunderbolts, better known as “Warthogs,” that are armed with radioactive uranium munitions. Reaper combat drones have been stationed in Poland for months, and soon they will likely launch from Romania too.

Both the excessive deployment of air forces in Eastern Europe and the establishment of Trump’s Space Force — as well as the historic, long-term upgrade of the U.S. Air Force as a whole — reflect a tendency to slowly abandon the infamous “War on Terror” doctrine of the past 17 years.

The relevance of the countless petty wars against al-Qaeda, the Taliban, and ISIS & Co. is slowly dwindling. Neither is North Korea, Iran, or Syria the prime target of this strategic realignment.

The historic upgrade of the U.S. Air Force, military experts agree, reflects a shift in focus in the military doctrine of the U.S. empire towards great power wars in the 21st century: wars against Russia or China.

No Hegemon Besides Me

It is one of the fundamental motives of strategic geopolitics that the present empire, in order to maintain its global power, must prevent the rise of other regional hegemons at any cost — especially in the three geostrategic core regions of East Asia, the Persian Gulf, and Europe.

This is the primary reason why the U.S. went to war against Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan — and transformed the latter into a military colony that still exists today and whose own army is still under Washington’s command. It’s why NATO functions as a U.S. tool for military control of Europe’s armies and the alliance ceaselessly moves eastward to Russia’s borders, why Saddam was overthrown and Iraq obliterated, why Saudi Arabia’s military was brought into vital dependency on the U.S., why the war against Iran is currently being prepared, and why the U.S. empire has deployed 240,000 troops in 172 countries around the world.

A rising China, as an empire in its infancy, however, is of a completely different caliber than the other wannabe-hegemons. Washington’s policy of containment may have a certain time-delaying effect, but ultimately it is irrelevant: China will become the regional hegemon in East Asia in the not-too-distant future, and eventually overtake the U.S. as the world’s primary superpower on the planet in the decades to come.

The 21st century is the Chinese one.

This transition can either go ahead peacefully — or with a big bang, potentially in the form of World War III. Secretary of the U.S. Air Force Heather Wilson once again made it clear in her recent keynote speech which scenario Washington is working towards.

In het
hieronder opgenomen artikel van Tyler Durden op Zero Hedge, vertelt
hij dat de boel op ‘oorlogscherp’ staat in de Oost-Chinese Zee dit over de claim op een paar eilandjes door China en Japan, t.w. de onbewoonde Senkaku-eilanden, ook aangeduid als Diaoyu-eilanden.

Uiteraard
moet de VS zich er weer mee bemoeien en als je het mij vraagt is het
vooral de VS die Japan opstookt deze eilandjes te claimen…….

Kortom
niet alleen in de Zuid-Chinese Zee (‘what’s in a word?’), maar ook in de Oost-Chinese Zee is
de VS uit op oorlog met China, immers de VS staat voor de veiligheid
van Japan, dit n.a.v. een veiligheidsverdrag gesloten in de 50er
jaren met Japan en dan m.n artikel 5 uit dat verdrag……

Om de
boel nog verder op scherp te zetten hebben de VS en Japan een grote
militaire oefening gepland, waarmee men oefent op ‘eventuele agressie’ van China….. (en als er nu één land op de wereld is dat uiterst agressief bezig is, is het de VS wel >> de VS de grootste terreurentiteit op aarde, nu verwikkeld in minstens 4 illegaal door deze vereniging van terreurstaten begonnen oorlogen…….) Er wordt zelfs overleg gevoerd tussen Japan en de VS over een militair antwoord op de ‘Chinese dreiging’ t.a.v. de Senkaku-eilanden……. De eerder genoemde grote militaire oefening van de VS en Japan kan je zien als voorbereiding daarop……..

Deze militaire oefening met de naam ‘Keen Sword’ (ha! ha! ha!) is volgens generaal en oorlogsmisdadiger William Seeley een aanvulling op de grote NAVO oefening Trident Juncture, die plaatsvindt in Noorwegen (en Oekraïne)……. (ik reken ook de grote luchtmachtoefening in Oekraïne toe aan die grote militaire oefening, immers daar wordt ook het zogenaamde raketschild in Polen en Roemenië bij betrokken, een schild waarvan de raketten in een mum van tijd van meerdere kernkoppen kunnen worden voorzien >> dit is een schending van het INF verdrag….. Dit terwijl het door een corrupte neonazi-junta geregeerd Oekraïne niet eens lid is van de NAVO….*)

Things
are again rapidly heating up in the East China Sea amidst already
heightened tensions in a region where Washington is increasingly
asserting the right of navigation in international waters against
broad Chinese claims and seeking to defend the territorial
possessions of its allies.

According
to a bombshell new Reuters report
the tiny and rocky Senkaku Islands which lie between northern Taiwan
and the Japanese home islands are “rapidly
turning into a flashpoint for war”.
Alarmingly, Japanese government sources have been quoted as
saying Tokyo
and the United States are drawing up an operations plan for an allied
military response to Chinese threats to the disputed Senkaku
Islands.

Islands, historically claimed by both Japan and China.

From
nearly the start of his entering the White House, President Trump has
said he’s committed to upholding Article 5 of the US-Japan security
treaty signed the post-war years of the mid-20th century: “We
are committed to the security of Japan and all areas under its
administrative control and to further strengthening our very crucial
alliance,” Trump
had promised from
the first official reception of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo
Abe back in February 2017, and since consistently maintained.

Japanese
government sources have told regional media that the joint plan of
response with the United States involves “how
to respond in the event of an emergency on or around the uninhabited
islands in the East China Sea” — which
is set to be completed by next march, according to the statements.

Beijing
claims the islands as part of its historical inheritance — as it
does neighbouring Taiwan, despite failing to seize the protectorate
during the Chinese Civil War.

Taiwan,
however, was a Japanese protectorate before World War II.

It’s
a messy historical scenario, thought resolved through United Nations
conventions and treaties established after the

The Japan
Times reports
that “The plan being drawn up assumes such
emergencies as armed Chinese fishermen landing on the islands,
and Japan’s Self-Defense Forces needing to be mobilized after the
situation exceeds the capacity of the police to respond.”

The
situation is now taking on a greater urgency as both the US and Japan
participate in the two nations’ largest
ever join war games,
which involves the nuclear-powered USS Ronald Reagan aircraft
carrier. The exercise, called Keen Sword began on Monday and is set
to run through Thursday, and
involved a
combined force of 57,000 sailors, airmen and marines — with
Japan contributing 47,000 of those military personnel.
Canadian warships are also involved in the exercises.

Japan
is seeking greater direct commitment and resolve on the part of the
United States to defend its territorial claims against Chinese
encroachment, which Japan says is already beginning to happen through
informal provocative raids of fishing boats organized by
Beijing.

Reuters reports

aggressive incursions by Chinese fishing boats — organised as a

Though
the United States has in the past expressed deep reluctance on
outright defending claims to the Japan-administered islands
(indicating it will take no official position on the issue), which
China calls the Diaoyu, Japan’s Self-Defense Forces says
the focus of talks with the US has involved how
to incorporate the US military’s strike capabilities in any
potential Chinese invasion of the Senkaku Islands scenario.

One
Japanese military analyst was quoted
as saying:
“Given that military organizations always need to assume the worst
possible situation, it is natural for the two countries to work on
this kind of plan against China.”

The
two already have a framework for such talks based on recently created
2015 defense guidelines known ans the Bilateral Planning
Mechanism, or BPM. It
stipulates the US and Japan’s Self-Defense Forces will “conduct
bilateral operations to counter ground attacks against Japan by
ground, air, maritime, or amphibious forces”.
Currently there’s a similar contingency plan in place for a potential
emergency threat on the Korean peninsula.

Between
now and the spring – when the plan is set to be finalized and
agreed upon – China will likely ramp up its incursions on the
islands, or just seize them altogether before US commitments can be
firmed up, in which case the
great unknown will be whether the United States actually steps up to
come to Japan’s aid while risking war with China — something
that up until now has been carefully avoided.

SWIFT betalingssysteem raakt monopolie (gelukkig) kwijt

Het SWIFT (internationaal)
betalingssysteem heeft door het psychopathisch terreur gedrag van de
VS haar beste tijd gehad. De VS gebruikte SWIFT o.a. om een
staatsgreep in Iran te forceren, door Iran in 2012 uit te sluiten van SWIFT (met de sancties
die de VS Iran heeft opgelegd, wil Trump Iran opnieuw uitsluiten van SWIFT…..).

Ofwel: de VS gebruikt SWIFT als
terreurwapen tegen staten die de VS niet welgevallig zijn….
Gelukkig heeft de VS daarmee in haar eigen staart gebeten, zo heeft
China al een eigen intern systeem en Rusland heeft haar eigen internationale betalingssysteem ‘gelanceerd’: SPFS, waar het land nu overlegt met China, Turkije en Iran voor deelname aan dit systeem.

Met haar handelen isoleert de VS zich
steeds meer, volkomen terecht stelt Tom Luongo in het hieronder opgenomen artikel (door Tyler Durden ‘geredigeerd’ en op Zero Hedge geplaatst) dat de bankwereld
pas echt wakker zal worden als de VS de Duitse Bank zou willen
straffen voor het handelen in Russische energie (gas en/of olie) en
die bank zou daarop besluiten om van SWIFT op SPFS over te stappen.

Ongelofelijk dat de
VS denkt werkelijk iedereen de valse VS wet voor te kunnen schrijven (en te belachelijk voor woorden dat men de VS over de wereld als een psychopathische
massamoordenaar tekeer laat gaan…)…..

During
the ruble crisis of 2014/15 Russia announced in the wake of U.S. and
European sanctions over reunifying with Crimea that it would begin
building a domestic electronic financial transfer system, an
alternative to SWIFT.

That
system, System for Transfer of Financial Messages (SPFS), is not
only now functioning in Russia, according to a
report from RT it
now handles the financial transfer data for more than half of
Russia’s institutions.

According
to Anatoly Aksakov, head of the Russian parliamentary committee
on financial markets:

The
number of users of our internal financial messages’ transfer system
is now greater than that of those using SWIFT. We’re already
holding talks with China, Iran and Turkey, along with several other
countries, on linking our system with their systems,” Aksakov said.

“They
need to be properly integrated with each other in order to avoid any
problems with using the countries’ internal financial messaging
systems.”

This
is a follow up to last month’s boast by the Russians that their
system was seeing a lot of international interest. How much of
this is boast and how much of it is reality remains to be seen, but
the important point here is that the minute the U.S. weaponized SWIFT
for use in its foreign policy, something like this was bound to
occur.

China
has its own internal system. And other countries are building
theirs as well.

The
SWIFT Cost

A
common theme on this blog is that control
is an illusion. Power is ephemeral. The
best way to exercise your power is to have it but never use it.
Because once you do use it you define for your enemies the costs of
their lack of compliance to your edicts.

And
if there is one thing humans are good at it is responding to known
incentives. Once we can calculate the cost of one behavior over
another we can then decide which one is more important to us.

Once
costs of staying in SWIFT rise above the benefits of building your
own alternative, you build an alternative.

SWIFT
is a market power similar to a CEO having billions in restricted
stock in their company. A lot of hay is made about the net
worth of people like Jeff Bezos and Mark Zuckerberg.

Quoting
their net worth by multiplying their known holdings times the current
price of the stock is useless. Because they can’t sell it.
It is market power or perceived wealth that evaporates the moment
they signal to the market their intention to sell.

In
reality, if they tried to sell their stock all at once the value of
the stock would plummet as buyers would run for the hills and they
would realize far less than their stated net worth before the selling
began.

So,
if anything they are a captive of their own success, needing to
manage the creation carefully to avoid damaging its reputation,
market position and, ultimately, its business.

SWIFT
is a monopoly system, a monopoly born of convenience and inertia
thanks to it being neutral to whims of international political
spats. Enter
the late stage of imperial thinking in the U.S. where our control
over world affairs is waning first in the hearts and minds of various
people around the world and then in policy and you have the beginning
of the end of SWIFT as the only international financial transfer
system.

Back
in 2010, I remember Jim Sinclair banging his shoe on the table about
our threatening Switzerland over opening up its customer data looking
for ‘tax cheats’ under FATCA. He said then that the Obama
administration was idiotic for doing this.

This
is where I got the maxim, once
you go nuclear you have no other option.

And
he was right.

Then
Iran was cut out of SWIFT in 2012 to effect regime change which also
failed. And that woke the world up to the reality. The
U.S. and Europe will attempt to destroy your livelihood if you dare
oppose its unilateral demands.

Our
political and financial elites, The
Davos Crowd,
will stop at literally nothing to ensure your compliance.

Too
bad that SWIFT is just code. It’s just an encrypted messaging
system. And like the push to stifle alternative voices on
social media – de-platforming Alex Jones and Gab for examples – the
solution to authoritarian control is not fighting fire with fire, but
technology.

And
that’s exactly what Russia has done. They
applied themselves, spent the money and wrote their own code. Code
is, after all, hard to control.

De-coding
SWIFT’s Power

It
is also what is happening all over the Internet communications supply
chain right now. The
infrastructure independent content producers need to resist corporate
control is being built and will see their businesses rise as so many
more people are now woke to
the reality of the situation.

As
Russian banks and businesses reap the benefits of no longer existing
under SWIFT’s Sword of Damocles, others will see the same benefits.

I’ve
been making this point all year, the more the Trump administration
uses tariffs and sanctions to achieve its political goals the more it
will ultimately weaken the U.S.’s position worldwide. It
won’t happen overnight.

It
will build, gradually, steadily until one day the threat will no
longer be there.

We
may have already reached that moment as President Trump has ruled out
pressuring SWIFT to cut Iran out of the system. Too bad his
evil Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin doesn’t agree with him.

But, Mnuchin
is living in the past, he doesn’t respect the resistance that’s
forming to U.S. financial hegemony. He will though when it
proves ineffectual.

Russia’s
SPFS will gain clients across Iran, Turkey, China and the rest of its
close trading partners. This will accelerate the
de-dollarization of Russia’s main trade, hydrocarbons, since many
of these countries are major buyers of Russian oil.

When
you hear the announcement from a German bank under sanctions from the
U.S. for trading in Russian energy that it will use SPFS as its
transfer system, that will be the real wake up call to the markets.

Change
then will comes, forgive the obvious pun, swiftly.
