Douma, onder druk gezet door de VS werd de rapportage dusdanig

The OPCW Is Accused Of False Reporting U.S. Propaganda Jumps To Its
Help

Clearing House” – An international organization published
two false reports and got caught in the act. But as the false reports
are in the U.S. interests a U.S. sponsored propaganda organization is
send out to muddle the issue. As that effort comes under fire the New
York Times jumps
in to give the cover-up effort some extra help.
Under
U.S. pressure the OPCW management modified or suppressed the findings
of its own scientists to make it look as if the Syrian government had
been responsible for the alleged chemical incident in April 2018 in
Douma.
The
public attention to the OPCW’s fakery lead to the questioning
of other
assertions the
OPCW had previously made. With the OPCW under fire someone had come
to its help.
To
save the propaganda value of the OPCW reports the U.S.
financed Bellingcat propaganda
organization jumped
in to save the OPCW’s bacon. Bellingcat founder
“suck
my balls”
Elliot Higgins claimed that the OPCW reports satisfied the concerns
the OPCW scientist had voiced.
That
assertion is now further propagated by a New
York Times piece
which, under the pretense of reporting about open source
analysis, boosts Bellingcat and
its defense of the OPCW:
The
blogger Eliot Higgins made waves early in the decade by covering the
war in Syria from a laptop in his apartment in Leicester, England,
while caring for his infant daughter. In 2014, he founded Bellingcat,
an open-source news outlet that has grown to include roughly a dozen
staff members, with an office in The Hague. Mr.
Higgins attributed his skill not
to any special knowledge of international conflicts or digital data,
but to
the hours he had spent playing video games,
which, he said, gave him the idea that any mystery can be
cracked.
…
Bellingcat journalists have spread the word about
their techniques in seminars attended by journalists and
law-enforcement officials. Along with grants from groups like the
Open Society Foundations (OSF), founded by George Soros, the seminars are a
significant source of revenue for Bellingcat, a nonprofit
organization.
It
seems that the New
York Times forgot
to mention an important monetary source for Bellingcat.

Porticus,
Adessium, Pax for Peace and the Postcode Lottery are all Dutch
organizations. Then there is the notorious Soros organization the New
York Times mentioned.
But why did the NYT forgot
to tell its readers that Bellingcat is
financed by the National Endowment for Democracy which itself is to
nearly 100% funded by the U.S. government? Could
that be because the NED, which spends U.S.government money on more
than 1.600 U.S.
government paid Non-Government Organizations, is
a Trojan horse,
a cover for the CIA?
Spurred
by Watergate – the Church committee of the Senate, the Pike
committee of the House, and the Rockefeller Commission, created by
the president, were all busy investigating the CIA. Seemingly every
other day there was a new headline about the discovery of some awful
thing, even criminal conduct, the CIA had been mixed up in for
years.

What was done was to shift many of these awful
things to a new organization, with a nice sounding name – The
National Endowment for Democracy. The idea was that the NED would do
somewhat overtly what the CIA had been doing covertly for decades,
and thus, hopefully, eliminate the stigma associated with CIA covert
activities.
…
“We should not have to do this kind of work
covertly,” said Carl Gershman in 1986, while he was president of
the Endowment. “It would be terrible for democratic groups around
the world to be seen as subsidized by the C.I.A. We saw that in the
60’s, and that’s why it has been discontinued. We have not had
the capability of doing this, and that’s why the endowment was
created.”
And
Allen Weinstein, who helped draft the legislation establishing NED,
declared in 1991: “A lot of what we do today was done covertly 25
years ago by the CIA.”
In
effect, the CIA has been laundering money through NED.
The
fact that the NED is doing the CIA’s work is likely the reason why
the NYT puff
piece about Bellingcat forgets
to mention its payments and also why it
jumps to Bellingcat’s and
the OPCW’s help:
Some
journalists and activists hostile to what they characterize as
Bellingcat’s pro-Western narratives have criticized some of its
coverage of the war in Syria.
At
issue is an April 7, 2018, attack on Douma, Syria. Bellingcat
reported, based on an analysis of six open-source videos, that it was
“highly likely” that Douma civilians had died because of chemical
weapons. In March, the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical
Weapons reported that there were “reasonable grounds” to say that
chemical weapons had been used in the attack.
Critics
of Bellingcat have pointed to an email from an investigator with the
organization, saying that it raised questions about the findings.
WikiLeaks published the email on Nov. 23. In a response, Bellingcat
defended its reporting, saying the final report on Douma from the
Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons reflected the
concerns of the investigator whose email was published by WikiLeaks.
By
playing video games Elliot Higgins learned to identify chemical
attacks in dubious video sequences published by terrorist affiliates.
If true it is an admirable capability. Still his assertion that the
OPCW report “reflected the concerns of the investigator”
who criticized it is, a as Caitlin Johnstone demonstrates,
utterly false:
Bellingcat
simply ignores this absolutely central aspect of the email, as well
as the whistleblower’s point about the symptoms of victims not
matching chlorine gas poisoning.
“In
this case the confidence in the identity of chlorine or any choking
agent is drawn into question precisely because of the inconsistency
with the reported and observed symptoms,” the whistleblower writes
in the email. “The inconsistency was not only noted by the [Fact
Finding Mission] team but strongly noted by three toxicologists with
expertise in exposure to [Chemical Weapons] agents.”
Bellingcat
says nothing about these revelations in the email, and says nothing
about the fact that the OPCW excluded them from both its Interim
Report in July 2018 and its Final Report in March 2019, the latter of
which actually asserted the exact opposite saying there
was “reasonable grounds that the use of a toxic chemical as a
weapon took place. This toxic chemical contained reactive chlorine.
The toxic chemical was likely molecular chlorine.”
Bellingcat
completely ignores all of these points, …
In
its defense of the OPCW report Bellingcatwrote:
[A]
comparison of the points raised in the letter against the final Douma
report makes it amply clear that the OPCW not only addressed these
points, but even changed the conclusion of an earlier report to
reflect the concerns of said employee.
Mail
on Sunday columnist
Peter Hitchens did
not concur with
that paragraph:
Apart
from the words ‘a’, and ‘the’, everything in the above
paragraph is, to put it politely, mistaken. Bellingcat have been so
anxious to trash the leak from the OPCW that they have (as many did
when the attack was first released) rushed to judgment without
waiting for the facts
More is known by the whistleblowers of the
OPCW than has yet been released …
Caitlin
and Peter should play more video games. I have read in the NYT that
they are the true path to learning and to the factual assessment of
alleged chemical attacks.
On
April 7 2018 terrorists of the Jaish al Islam group ruled in Douma.
They killed 40 civilians. The bodies were shown in videos along with
chlorine gas canisters to pretend that the Syrian government had
killed those people. The OPCW’s fact finding team analyzed the
evidence and found that the canisters had not been dropped from the
air but where manually placed. The symptoms the victims showed were
inconsistent with a chlorine attack and chlorinated substances were
only found in extremely low concentrations. There were absolutely no
“reasonable grounds” to say that chemical weapons had been
used in the attack.
But
the OPCW management, under U.S. pressure and despite the protests by
its own scientists, put out a report that said the opposite. As the
manipulation came to light the U.S. funded Bellingcat made
a perfunctory attempt to muddle the issue. Thus another propaganda
organization, the New
York Times,
had to jump in to save Bellingcat and
the false OPCW claims.
It
is not going to help. There will soon be more evidence that the OPCW
management published two false reports on Douma, and likely even more
on other issue. There will be a public recognition that the OPCW
failed.

Met behulp van Avaaz is Libië verworden tot zo ongeveer het armste land van Afrika, het ontbreekt de bevolking aan van alles en meisjes mogen niet meer naar school, laat staan studeren…… Tienduizenden Libiërs verloren het leven, niet alleen vanwege de NAVO bombardementen (Nederlandse F16s werden gebruikt om doelen aan te wijzen), maar ook door etnische zuiveringen….. Er worden nu zelfs openbare slavenmarkten gehouden in Libië, en de oorlog is nog steeds gaande…… Nogmaals: met dank aan Avaaz…..
De Avaaz topgraaiers hebben er voorts geen probleem mee om op de foto te gaan met oorlogsmisdadigers als Petraeus…..

The
organization Avaaz was instrumentalin
building public approval for the No Fly Zone for the illegal invasion
of Libya in 2011. The NATO-led destabilization/illegal war in Libya
resulted in the annihilation of a formerly sovereign country that has
since descended into brutal chaos. Tens upon thousands of Libyans
died and the most savage ethnic cleansing that the mind can imagine
has been widespread. The destruction of Libya has been nothing less
than a full-scale bloodbath.

When
Avaaz rolled out the same rinse, lather and repeat campaign for the
seizing of Syria, the public did not fall prey as easily. The
campaign failed. Below are three separate links to the Avaaz campaign

the Avaaz campaigns pressing for a no-fly zone (air strikes) over

of chemical weapons to incite fear and hatred toward the Assad
government. It does not take much stretch of the imagination to
consider Avaaz had inside knowledge of the upcoming chemical attack
that would take place in outer Damascus approximately 10 weeks later.
Considering Avaaz co-founder Tom Perriello’s connection to the
Obama administration and its well known war criminals, it is entirely
plausible that Avaaz was churning out propaganda that would lead up
to and sensationalize a false
flag attack.

August 30, 2013 article “On
the Eve of an Illegal Attack on Syria, Avaaz/350.org Board Members
Beat the Drums of War” documents Avaaz links imploring a
no-fly zone on Syria – both public links have since been removed.
The article also
featured 350.org board member Van Jones calling for air strikes on
Syria. (Adding twisted irony, Van Jones also serves as co-founder and
executive director of the Ella
Baker Center for Human Rights.
The co-opting of deceased civil rights revolutionaries to advance the
goals of hegemony has become common practice within these
foundation-financed projects.)

The email from Patel represented a last-ditch effort to garner
support for a no-fly zone as the US prepared to launch an attack on
Syria.
One
year earlier, in 2012 Avaaz was allegedly sponsoring
fabricated videos of
civilian massacres, to back deeper foreign intervention in Syria.
Fact-checking and videos appear to collaborate these
claims.
Jump
forward to 2014.
In
the September 8, 2014 article Pentagon
Planning Points to Possible Anti-Syria US Military Campaign,
author Stephen Gowans observes:
“Now,
it appears that Washington is on the cusp of pressing ahead with its
planned campaign of military action. The New York Times has reported
that ‘Pentagon planners envision a military campaign’ to destroy
ISIS ‘in its sanctuary inside Syria’ that could last ‘at least
36 months.’ According to The Wall Street Journal, airstrikes would
support anti-Assad fighters unaligned with ISIS, who would be
bankrolled by $500 million in US funding, and backed by a global
coalition, including the UK and Australia, that would ‘provide a
range of assistance, including humanitarian aid and weapons.’ These
countries could also join the United States in an air-war over
Syria.”
It
should not be considered a coincidence that at the same time, a
polished, sophisticated and highly financed “Save Syria” campaign
is being created in the board rooms of the Empire’s favourite
Harvard boys.
Where,
under the organization Avaaz, the public hasn’t acquiesced to an
air strike on Syria, the New York public relations firm Purpose
Inc. has stepped in.
Purpose
is a for-profit enterprise that is marketed to appear like a
non-profit. Their area of expertise is behavioural change.

This is cross-subsidised by its for-profit arm, which makes money in
a variety of ways. It sells consulting services to big companies such
as Google and Audi, and to charities such as the Bill & Melinda

the behavioural change tactics used by Avaaz are on public display,
double-breasted, for-profit Purpose, with its non-profit arm, sells
their expertise behind the scenes to further the interest of hegemony
and capital. Whether it be a glossy campaign to
help facilitate yet another illegal “humanitarian intervention”
led by aggressive U.S. militarism (an oxymoron if there ever was
one), or the creation of a new global “green” economy, Purpose is
the consulting firm that the wolves of Wall Street and oligarchs
alike depend upon to make it happen.
Make
no mistake, the Yale (for example, Avaaz co-founder and former U.S.

and Harvard graduates that comprise the “Avaaz boys” (many having
been groomed by McKinsey
and Company)
are considered “the dream team” by the globe’s most powerful

former Managing Director of Partnerships for “Purpose” is Marilia
Bezerra. From 2006 to 2011 Bezerra held an integral position within
the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) executive leadership. As Clinton
Global Initiative director of commitments, Bezerra led the redesign
of member engagement and commitments services into a
year-round operation. From 2007 to 2008, Bezerra held the
position of sponsorship manager of the Clinton Global Initiative
where she directly managed five major sponsorship accounts, including
Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Procter & Gamble, valued at
over $2 million dollars. From 2006 to 2008, Bezerra held the position
of Commitment Development Senior Manager for the Clinton Global

One
should note that in the case of many NGOs, on 990 tax forms it
appears as though those at the helm are paid minimally, if at all.
Rather than salaries, many founders of institutions make immense fees
via consulting services where their names are not identified on 990
forms. In the case of Avaaz, co-founder Ricken Patel does take a
salary (approx. $190,000.00 per year) plus consulting fees.
Consulting fees must be considered the bread and butter of many
“progressives” whose incomes rival CEOs of multinational
corporations. The salaries and incomes are incredible when one
accounts for the fact that many NGOs, such as Avaaz, rake in millions
of dollars in donations from well-intentioned and hard-working
citizens who are at or below the poverty line.

Inc. (with its co-founders) is a favourite of high-finance websites
such as The Economist and Forbes and sells its consulting services
and branding/marketing campaigns to Google, Audi, the American Civil
Liberties Union (ACLU), The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and
many others that comprise the world’s most powerful corporations
and institutions. In 2012, it raised $3m from investors. “Ford
Foundation, which has given Purpose’s non-profit arm a grant,
reckons it is shaping up to be “one of the blue-chip social

Utilizing the consumer culture’s celebrity fetish to sell war (and
the illusory “green economy“)
is a vital marketing strategy of Purpose. In the case of #withSyria,
famed street artist Banksyhas
reworked his “Young Girl” famed graffiti stencil in
support of the campaign.
On the main page of this website the behavioural change strategists
at Purpose promote a slick, emotive video of a white child (in
America) slowly becoming traumatized by the violence in Syria. No
doubt, Purpose’s marketing executives have taken this avenue
because they know that the majority of Euro-Americans with privilege
simply are not moved by images of suffering children that are
non-Caucasian. Non-White children being slaughtered by imperial
states became normalized for most Euro-American citizens long ago.
And
of course corporate
media is
not far away to promote the
cries for war peace.
Consider today, on September 17, 2014, ABC “reports“:
“What
if we could reverse the explosion of a bomb? A group of 130
organizations from around the world,
known collectively as the ‘With Syria’ campaign, released a video
Wednesday that shows just what that would look like. The campaign
hopes to bring attention to the violence in Syria. (video) Warning:
Contains disturbing imagery. In the video, the act of a bomb
exploding near children playing is reversed: The blood returns to
their heads, the children stand back up, run in reverse and continue
the game they were playing. A message says, ‘We can’t reverse
what’s happened in Syria, but we can change how the story ends.’”

US
Military Utilize NGOs to Induce Pacification & Advance Western
Ideologies on Iraqi Citizens
The
video below captures highlights from the 2004 Princeton Colloquium on
Public and International Affairs and should that be at the Woodrow
Wilson School of Public and International Affairs – The Role of
NGOs in Global Governance and Society. Attention to the title is key:
“NON-governmental
organizations in global GOVERNANCE.”
[Note the use of the term “guerrilla” (4:13)
in describing any citizen/person resisting the occupation/assault by
US military on Iraq soil.] Since the filming of this video,
accelerating regime change operations are being conducted by Western
militaries, hand in hand with Western NGOs throughout the globe.

In essence, NGOs have become an indispensable instrument of
destabilization and regime change for imperial states and hegemonic
interests. NGOs also serve as the primary agents to implant
neoliberal policies and western ideologies in targeted states to

Syrians holding up a poster that features a “thumbs up”
illustration for USA and the UN.
Exploiting
the death of Syrian children to provoke air strikes and military
aggression demonstrates that such agencies go to any extreme to
further American foreign policy. Note that the very carnage described
above: “killing
over a thousand, many of them children” is
par for the course for the U.S. military, which carries out such
atrocities on innocent civilians, including children, on a daily
basis, all over the world. But don’t expect an Avaaz or Purpose
campaign against the Obama Regime any time soon. They will be too
busy under the guise of their NGO MoveOn, working on his re-election.

Within the lecture, Snow discusses the psyops/propaganda
strategically orchestrated behind the “Save Darfur”

manipulate our emotions, ultimately ensuring we come to accept and
partake in their politically acceptable means of discourse –

Consider
that the colour of the national flag of the Libyan Jamahiriya (from
1977 to 2011; The Great
Socialist People’s Libyan Arab Jamahiriya)
was pure green in colour. Unlike the one featured in the Avaaz
campaign. The green colour traditionally symbolizes Islam. In Libya,
green was also a colour traditionally used to represent
the Tripolitania region
(commonly referred to as Tripoli) that NATO forces fought to seize.
The iconic green flag was chosen by Libyan leader/brother Muammar
Gaddafi to symbolize his political philosophy (after his
revolutionary Green
Book).
On 10 March 2011, France was the first state to recognize the council
as the official government of Libya, as well as the first to allow
the Libyan embassy staff to raise the red, black, green and white
flag that would replace the green flag of the Libyan Jamahiriya. On
21 March, the “new” flag was flown by the Permanent Mission of
Libya to the United Nations and appeared on their official website …
this flag, which reigned prior to the Libyan Jamahiriya, is now the
only flag used by the United Nations to represent Libya. According to
the following UN statement: “Following the adoption by the General
Assembly of resolution 66/1, the Permanent Mission of Libya to the
United Nations formally notified the United Nations of a Declaration
by the National Transitional Council of 3 August 2011 changing the
official name of the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya to “Libya” as well as
a decision to change Libya’s national flag to the original.”

August 24, 2011 it is reported by
yet another mouthpiece for empire that:
“As
Libyan rebels take over, embassies worldwide have been replacing the
old Libyan flag with a new one…. But
starting in February, a new flag – red, black, and green with a
white star and crescent in the center – has been hoisted at Libyan
embassies around the world, from
Switzerland to Bangladesh.
It is the same flag being flown by the jubilant rebels themselves as
they descend on Tripoli.”
In
the article, the words “U.S. funded mercenaries” have been
replaced with “the jubilant rebels.” It would be well worth
investigating who ordered, manufactured and paid for thousands of
these new flags (prior to or commencing in February of 2011) and
ensured they would replace the national flag of the Libyan Jamahiriya
that flourished from 1977 to 2011.

later be coaxed out of Papadopoulos by a Clinton-linked Australian
ambassador, Alexander Downer, and that this apparent ‘setup’ would be
the genesis of the FBI’s “operation
crossfire hurricane”
operation against the Trump campaign.
We
wouldn’t know about the role of Fusion GPS – the opposition research
firm hired by Hillary Clinton’s campaign to commission the Steele
dossier. Fusion is also linked to the infamous Trump
Tower meeting,
and hired Nellie
Ohr–
the CIA-linked wife of the DOJ’s then-#4 employee, Bruce Ohr.
Nellie fed
her husband Bruce intelligence she had gathered against Trump while
working for Fusion, according
to transcriptsof
her closed-door Congressional testimony.
And
if not for reporting by the Daily
Caller‘s
Chuck Ross and others, we wouldn’t know that the FBI sent a longtime
spook, Stefan Halper, to infiltrate and spy on the Trump campaign –
after the Obama DOJ paid
him over $400,000 right
before the 2016 US election (out of more than $1 million he received
while Obama was president).
According
to the New
York Times,
the tables are turning, starting with the Steele Dossier.
[T]he
release on Thursday of the
report by the special counsel,
Robert S. Mueller III, underscored what had grown clearer for
months — that while many Trump aides had welcomed contacts with the
Russians, some
of the most sensational claims in the dossier appeared to be false,
and others were impossible to prove.
Mr.
Mueller’s report contained over a dozen passing references to the
document’s claims but no overall assessment of why so much did not
check out.
While
Congressional Republicans have vowed to investigate, the DOJ’s
Inspector General is
considering whether the FBI improperly relied on the dossier when
they used it to apply for a surveillance warrant on Trump campaign
adviser Carter Page. The IG also wants to know about Steele’s
sources and
whether the FBI disclosed any doubts as to the veracity of the
dossier.
Attorney
General Barr, meanwhile, said he will review
the FBI’s conduct in the Russia investigation after
saying the agency spied
on the Trump campaign.
Doubts
over the dossier
The
FBI’s scramble to vet the dossier’s claims are well known. According
to an April,
2017 NYT report, the
FBI agreed to pay Steele $50,000 for “solid corroboration”
of his claims. Steele was
apparently unable to produce satisfactory evidence – and was
ultimately not paid for his efforts:
Mr.
Steele met his F.B.I. contact in Rome in early October, bringing a
stack of new intelligence reports. One, dated Sept. 14, said that Mr.
Putin was facing “fallout” over his apparent involvement in the
D.N.C. hack and was receiving “conflicting advice” on what to do.
The
agent said that if
Mr. Steele could get solid corroboration of his reports, the F.B.I.
would pay him $50,000 for
his efforts, according to two people familiar with the
offer. Ultimately,
he was not paid.

Still,
the FBI used the dossier to obtain the FISA warrant on Page – while
the document itself was heavily shopped around to various media
outlets.
The late Sen. John McCain provided a copy to
Former
FBI Director James Comey, who already had a version, and briefed
President Trump on the salacious document. Comey’s briefing to
Trump was
then used by CNN and BuzzFeed to
justify reporting on and publishing the dossier following
the election.
Let’s
not forget that
in October, 2016,both
Hillary Clinton and her campaign chairman John Podesta promoted the
conspiracy theory that a secret Russian server was communicating with
Trump Tower.
The
report was debunked after
internet sleuths traced the IP address to a marketing server located
outside Philadelphia, leading Alfa Bank executives to file a lawsuit
against Fusion GPS in October 2017, claiming their reputations were
harmed by the Steele Dossier.
And
who placed the Trump-Alfa theory with various media outlets? None
other than former FBI counterintelligence officer and Dianne
Feinstein aide Dan Jones – who
is currently working with Fusion GPS and Steele to continue their
Trump-Russia investigation funded
in part by George
Soros.
The Times notes
that Steele
“has not ruled out” that he may have been fed Russian
disinformation while
assembling his dossier.
That
would mean that in addition to carrying out an effective attack on
the Clinton campaign, Russian spymasters hedged their bets and placed
a few land mines under Mr. Trump’s presidency as well.
Oleg
D. Kalugin, a former K.G.B. general who now lives outside Washington,
saw that as plausible. “Russia has huge experience in spreading
false information,” he said. –NYT
In
short, Steele is being given an ‘out’ with this admission.
A
lawyer for Fusion GPS, Joshua Levy, says
that the Mueller report substantiated the “core reporting”
in the Steele memos –
namely that “Trump campaign figures were secretly meeting
Kremlin figures,” and that Russia’s president, Vladimir V. Putin,
had directed “a covert operation to elect Donald J. Trump.”
Of
course, when one stops painting with broad brush strokes, it’s clear
that the dossier was fabricated bullshit.
The
dossier tantalized Mr. Trump’s opponents with a worst-case account
of the president’s conduct. And for those trying to make sense of
the Trump-Russia saga, the dossier infused the quest for
understanding with urgency.
In
blunt prose, it
suggested that a foreign power had fully compromised the man who
would become the next president of the United States.
The
Russians, it asserted, had tried winning over Mr. Trump with real
estate deals in Moscow — which he had not taken up —
and set him up with prostitutes in a Moscow hotel in 2013, filming
the proceedings for future exploitation. A handful of aides were
described as conspiring with the Russians at every turn.
Mr.
Trump, it said, had moles inside the D.N.C. The
memos claimed that he
and the Kremlin had been exchanging intelligence for eight years and
were using Romanian hackers against the Democrats,
and that Russian
pensioners in the United States were running a covert communications
network. –NYT
And
after a nearly two-year investigation by special counsel Robert
Mueller and roughly 40 FBI agents and other specialists, no
evidence was found to support the dossier’s wild claims of “DNC
moles, Romanian hackers, Russian pensioners, or years of Trump-Putin
intelligence trading,”
as the Times puts
it.
Now
that the shoe is on the other foot, and key Democrats backing away
from talks of impeachment, let’s see if lady justice will follow the
rest of us down the rabbit hole.

zijn er la een ongelofelijk aantal accounts van Palestijnen verwijderd, daar ze kritiek hebben op

“Why
can’t I see your posts anymore?”
“I’ve
had to re-follow you several times on Facebook.”
These
are but a few of the various comments and complaints about my
Facebook page that I’ve fielded the past two years. With growing
regularity and intensity, the cheery blue “F” has fucked over
radical journalists like me, emboldened by the Russiagate and fake
news narratives that brand any dissident or alternative media as our
generation’s folk devils. While recent crackdowns have been far
more pointed and Orwellian than before, censorship and Facebook go
way back.
In
2012, The
Guardian reported on
Facebook’s arbitrary and ridiculous nudity and violence guidelines
which allow images
of crushed limbs but – dear god spare us the image of a woman
breastfeeding. Still, people stayed – and Facebook grew. In 2014,
Facebook admitted to mind
control games via
positive or negative emotional content tests on unknowing and
unwilling platform users. Still, people stayed – and Facebook grew.
Following the 2016 election, Facebook responded to the Harpie shrieks
from the corporate Democrats by setting
up a so-called “fake news” task force to
weed out those dastardly commies (or socialists or anarchists or
leftists or libertarians or dissidents or…). And since then, I’ve
watched my reach on Facebook drain like water in a bathtub – hard
to notice at first and then a spastic swirl while people bicker about
how to plug the drain.
And
still, we stayed – and the censorship tightened. Roughly a year
ago, my
show Act Out! reported on
both the censorship we were experiencing but also the cramped filter
bubbling that Facebook employs in order to keep the undesirables out
of everyone’s news feed. Still, I stayed – and the censorship
tightened. 2017 into 2018 saw more and more activist
organizers, particularly
black and brown,
thrown into Facebook jail for questioning systemic violence and
demanding better. In August, puss bag ass hat in a human suit Alex
Jones was banned from Facebook – YouTube, Apple and Twitter
followed suit shortly thereafter. Some folks celebrated. Some others
of us skipped the party because we could feel what was coming.
On
October 11th of this year, Facebook
purged more than 800 pages including
The Anti-Media, Police the Police, Free Thought Project and many
other social justice and alternative media pages. Their explanation
rested on the painfully flimsy foundation of “inauthentic
behavior.” Meanwhile, their fake-news checking team is stacked with
the likes of the Atlantic Council and the
Weekly Standard,
neocon junk organizations that peddle such drivel as “The
Character Assassination of Brett Kavanaugh.”
Soon after, on the Monday before the Midterm elections, Facebook
blocked another 115 accounts citing
once again, “inauthentic behavior.” Then, in mid November, a
massive New York Times piece chronicled
Facebook’s long road to not only save its image amid rising
authoritarian behavior, but “to discredit activist protesters, in
part by linking them to the liberal financier George Soros.” (I
consistently find myself waiting for those Soros and Putin checks in
the mail that just never appear.)
What
this all proves is what was already clear two years ago: Facebook is
afraid of dissenting voices – and they have the power to drain the
social media presence of this rising tide of leftist ire. We can’t
plug this drain. The drain (and the entire bathtub) is in the hands
of a private corporation that has intertwined itself with the
government in a perverse partnership based on silencing dissent and
streamlining a Stepford-like online experience. Russia’s bad,
nipples are hidden, Santa is white, go back to sleep. Put simply, if
we are interested in uncovering truth, building networks, fighting
for justice and freedom, we have to make a shift.
I
understand why people stay – I understand why I stayed. More than a
quarter of humanity uses Facebook; it’s been deemed too
big to delete.
People go there for connection – to see kids growing, to see what
people are cooking, to reassure themselves that an ex’s new partner
is ugly. People go there to build their brands. I’ve personally
built followings for two bands, several organizations and one TV show
on the platform. But I can no longer get through. I, and journalists
like me, can not break through that aforementioned perverse
partnership.
It
follows that the “news” people get on Facebook, a
main source for news,
will never be the news from the front lines of our fights. It will
never be the news from the most marginalized and oppressed folks. It
will never be the news that hits straight at the heart of this
crooked, corrupt system. It will be sanitized, whitewashed, twisted
propaganda that serves and protects the owners of corporate media –
the very same corporations that depend on our oppression, distraction
and apathy. It will be infotainment and whatever makes you feel good
about you.Because
that means you’ll keep coming back. And as you go back, you’ll
expose yourself entirely to the blue and white algorithm. Indeed,
outside of Orwellian censorship, Facebook also excels at spying on
us.
Already back
in 2008,
alternative media reported on the surveillance power of Facebook. Ten
years later and after his historic NSA leaks, Edward
Snowden reminded us that
“Facebook is a surveillance company rebranded as ‘social media.’”
It seems a hyperbolic visual but the dystopian picture of a
constantly surveilled human being scrolling through banal content
curated by a state-sponsored corporation is very real.
Since
the October purge, calls from the left regarding alternatives have
been loud but splintered.
Many
suggest that we go back to the days of analog organizing – phone
calls, knocking on doors, in-person meetings. As an organizer, I was
unaware that we had ever stopped doing that. Truly, face-to-face
organizing remains the most effective tool for us social beings. At
the same time, to cast off the advancements of technological
networking would be to walk away from an internet designed to be a
place of collaboration and sharing. We shouldn’t and don’t have
to do that.
What
we need is an open source, non-surveillance platform. And right now,
that platform is Minds.
Before you ask, I’m not being paid to write that. My relationship
with Minds consists of my account there and an interview with Minds
co-founder Bill Ottman on my show.
Fashioned
as an alternative to the closed and creepy Facebook behemoth, Minds
advertises itself as “an open source and decentralized social
network for Internet freedom.” Minds prides itself on being
hands-off with regards to any content that falls in line with what’s
permitted by law, which has elicited critiques from some on the left
who say Minds is a safe haven for fascists and right-wing extremists.
Yet, Ottman has himself stated openly that he wants ideas on content
moderation and ways to make Minds a better place for social network
users as well as radical content creators.
What
a few fellow journos and I are calling #MindsShift is an important
step in not only moving away from our gagged existence on Facebook,
but in building a social network that can serve up the real news
folks are now aching for. To be clear, we aren’t advocating that
you delete your Facebook account – unless you want to. For many,
Facebook is still an important tool and our goal is to add to the
outreach toolkit, not suppress it.
We
have set January 1st, 2019 as the ultimate date for this #MindsShift.
Several outlets with a combined reach of millions of users will be
making the move – and asking their readerships/viewerships to move
with them. Along with fellow journalists, I am working with Minds to
brainstorm new user-friendly functions and ways to make this

De schuld voor deze leugen nam Elliot Schrage op zich, hij is hoofd

Schrage
die eerder dit jaar al zijn vertrek aankondigde, ging in zijn afscheid
zover dat hij durfde te stellen dat hij nooit heeft gevraagd aan
dergelijke lobbygroepen verhalen te verzinnen, om anderen zoals de
democraten in een kwaad daglicht te stellen….. Terwijl het als
algemeen bekend kan worden geacht dat de lobbyclubs waarmee Facebook
werkt (en daar veel aan verdient), alles doen om hun doel te bereiken en leugens maken (fake news >> nepnieuws) daar een
groot onderdeel van uit, zeker als het gaat om critici van de Facebook klant……….
Vandaar
ook dat Zuckerberg uiteindelijk stelde dat Rusland inderdaad via
Facebook de presidentsverkiezingen heeft beïnvloed, met nog niet een
tiende procent van wat topgraaiende miljonairs, miljardairs, banken
en andere grote bedrijven in die verkiezingen hebben gestoken…. (over echte manipulatie gesproken, die godbetert zonder problemen wordt uitgeoefend en dat in een ‘democratie…’) De uitlatingen van Zuckerberg zijn dan ook het gevolg van een ‘mooi’ advies, verkregen van lobbyisten en dat leek te werken, zeker nadat Facebook
begon met het van haar platform verwijderen van accounts…….
Gelukkig
dat nu duidelijk wordt dat Facebook met al haar gelul over fake news
en oneigenlijke beïnvloeding plat op de bek gaat, daar het juist zelf gebruik maakt van deze beïnvloeding en het brengen van nepnieuws (fake news) met hetzelfde doel!

contacten die werden onderhouden met een omstreden Republikeins
lobbybedrijf, genaamd Definers. Via dat bedrijf probeerde Facebook
critici met nepnieuws in een kwaad daglicht te zetten. Dat zou
gebeurd zijn om de aandacht af te leiden van de aanhoudende
schandalen rond Facebook.
Operationeel
directeur Sheryl Sandberg zei eerder nog nooit te hebben gehoord van
Definers. Daar kwam ze nu in een blog op terug. Haar collega Elliot
Schrage, hoofd communicatie en beleid nam de schuld op zich voor het
inhuren van dergelijke lobbyclubs. Dat deed hij in zijn
afscheidsblog. Daarin ontkende hij dat hij gevraagd zou hebben
verhalen te verzinnen. Schrage kondigde zijn vertrek overigens eerder
dit jaar aan.
In
de Amerikaanse krant New York Times dook vorige week het verhaal op
dat Definers onder meer suggereerde dat er banden zouden zijn tussen
Facebook-critici en miljardair George Soros.
Hij staat al langer
bekend om zijn uitvoerige kritiek op grote techbedrijven. Definers
zou ook het verhaal de wereld in hebben geholpen over een
financiering van Soros voor actiegroep Freedom from Facebook.
Het
fascistische apartheidsbewind in Israël heeft het gore lef om ‘heel
fijntjes’ de aanslag op de synagoge in Pittsburgh te misbruiken
voor verdere demonisering van de mensen, die zich inzetten voor het
zwaar onderdrukte Palestijnse volk…….. Sterker nog: het Israëlische oorlogsmisdadigers-kabinet heeft niet opgeroepen de
neonazi’s in de VS aan te pakken, neonazi’s die verantwoordelijk zijn
voor het manipuleren van anderen met hun antisemitische leugens,
ofwel haatzaaierij die tot de aanslag* in Pittsburgh hebben
geleid……

Yesterday
during an interview on MSNBC, Ron Dermer, the Israeli Ambassador to
the United States, placed the blame for the attack on both white
supremacists and the “radical left,” which is clearly code for
BDS activists.
“One
of the big forces in college campuses today is anti-Semitism. And
those anti-Semites are usually not neo-Nazis, on college campuses.
They’re coming from the radical left. We have to stand against
anti-Semitism whether it comes from the right or whether it comes
from the left.”
This
is a disgusting lie. But it is part and parcel with the recent push
by the Israeli government and its supporters in the West to redefine
the meaning of antisemitism to include criticism of Israel.
When
faced the most blatant example of antisemitic violence imaginable,
Dermer can’t bring himself to criticize the actual accomplices who
made this violence possible. Donald Trump, who declared himself a
“nationalist” earlier in the week, and the forces of white
supremacy in this country have created the atmosphere where this type
of violence is possible, even predictable. Yet during the MSNBC
interview Dermer said Trump is to be praised for his statements on
antisemitism, in no large part because the Trump administration has
been a strong supporter of the rightwing Netanyahu government that
Dermer represents.
This
is where Israel finds itself in 2018. The same “nationalist”
voices attacking George Soros and the “globalists” are also some
of Israel’s greatest supporters in the U.S.
But
it’s not just the Israeli government looking to use Pittsburgh.
Writing
in the New
York Times ADL
head Jonathan Greenblatt did the same thing, equating the ideology
behind the deadly attack on the 11 American Jews who were killed
while praying with criticism of the state of Israel.
The both sidesism in this Greenblatt piece is a disgrace. Head of @ADL_National can’t even bring himself to name the Republican party as the chief American exporters of anti-Semitic incitement.
In light of today’s shooting in Pittsburgh, re-upping this thread. It is important to talk about how growing anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism are creating a toxic brew coming from both the fringe right & left.
The
murderous rampage at the Tree of Life synagogue had absolutely
nothing to do with the struggle for Palestinian rights. And
anyone who is telling you there is is shamelessly trying to use the
murder of 11 innocent people to further their own racist agenda to

Onder
aanvoering van de VS, hebben andere NAVO lidstaten en de EU het Macedonische referendum over toetreding tot de NAVO ‘en de EU’ dusdanig
gemanipuleerd dat de uitkomst van het referendum en de bijna drie
weken latere stemming in het parlement volledig gemanipuleerd aan
naar eigen hand gezet……
Het
referendum, dat afgelopen 30 september plaatsvond, zou pas geldig
worden verklaard als de opkomst 50% plus 1 zou zijn, echter met een
opkomst van 36,91% van stemgerechtigden, werd het referendum onder
druk van de VS en de NAVO als rechtsgeldig verklaard……. De
stemming op 18 oktober jl. in het parlement werd veilig gesteld middels chantage, omkoping van de oppositie en de belofte voor niet verdere vervolging
van parlementariërs, die deelnamen aan ongeregeldheden in het
parlement op 27 april 2017…….
Ook heel
smerig is de belofte aan Macedonië gedaan dat het mag toetreden tot
de EU als men stemt voor toetreding tot de NAVO…….. Echter dat lidmaatschap kan Macedonië voorlopig vergeten (hoewel het onder druk zetten van de EU door de VS de zaak kan bespoedigen….)
Me dunkt
de hoogste tijd dat de top van de NAVO strafrechtelijk wordt
vervolgd, niet alleen voor deze schunnige manipulatie, maar ook voor
alle oorlogsmisdaden begaan door de NAVO, te beginnen met de
oorlogsmisdaden begaan in voormalig Joegoslavië, waar Macedonië NB
deel van uitmaakte…….
De NAVO
staat onder opperbevel van de VS en weer heeft de VS met deze zaak,
waar ook psychopaat en oorlogsmisdadiger en VS minister van defensie uh oorlog Mattis en opperhufter Pence
(vicepresident van de VS) zich mee bemoeiden, bewezen dat het niet
Rusland is, die zich mengt in verkiezingen of referenda, maar juist
de VS zelf, de bewijzen daarvoor uit de geschiedenis (inclusief de
recente geschiedenis), moeten intussen een kilometer aan dossiers
beslaan………
De
bedoeling van de VS is overduidelijk, men wil alle landen ten westen
van Rusland in de NAVO hebben om Rusland verder te isoleren……. Aan die landen ontbreekt na Macedonië, nog Servië en de Serviërs (of: Serven) in Bosnië-Herzegovina (dat je tegenwoordig blijkbaar als ‘Bosnië en Herzegovina’ moet schrijven….)…..
De NAVO
is bewezen een terreurorganisatie (waar de NAVO NB haar terreur ook heeft uitgeoefend in voormalig Joegoslavië) en zou ontbonden moeten worden, voorts zou de VS, de grootst terreurentiteit op aarde uit alle landen moeten worden geschopt waar het
militaire bases heeft, of waar het illegaal oorlog voert (ofwel
grootschalige terreur uitoefent), voorts zou het de VS verboden
moeten worden om in de toekomst nog militairen in welk buitenland dan ook te me hebben….. Verder zou de VS verboden moeten worden landen middels economische oorlogsvoering aan de rand van de afgrond te brengen, om zo een door de CIA georganiseerde coup te forceren!!!

In
an interview for the Russia-1 television channel, Russia’s Foreign
Minister Sergey Lavrov revealed that
he had raised the question of egregious Western meddling into
Macedonia’s recent (September 30) referendum and parliamentary
voting (October 19) to push through changes to the country’s name
and constitution in order accelerate its accession to NATO (and, much
later, if ever, to the EU) with US National Security Adviser John
Bolton during his recent visit to Moscow.
“I
told him we were accused of meddling not only in the US, but also in
Spain, in Brexit and now also in anything that happens in the Western
Balkans… We said we kept silent on Macedonia’s referendum, while
its capital of Skopje was visited by NATO chief Stoltenberg, defense
minister Mattis, German chancellor Merkel… who publicly and bluntly
demanded that Macedonians ‘vote for their future’ and say ‘yes’
in a referendum on their membership in the EU and NATO by ‘only’
changing their country’s name,” recalled Lavrov, further
reminding that the referendum had flopped but that, nevertheless, the
Macedonian parliament went ahead with a vote to amend the country’s
constitution, and secured the necessary two-thirds vote “through
bribes and promises not to start criminal persecution,” overseen by
the US Ambassador to Macedonia, who was present during the
proceedings and “who did not merely sit there.”
Bolton’s
response? According to Lavrov, he simply smiled and replied that
Macedonia was a “quite complex country.”
So,
there you have it. It’s officially open season on all the world’s
“complex” countries – and guess who gets to define “complex”
– should they ever even contemplate voting the “wrong way,” as
interpreted by the West’s arbiters of democracy, even the avowed
“non-interventionists”
in the White House.
If
anything, Lavrov was understating what some observers literally
described as a “rape” of Macedonia’s democratic [sic]
institutions on the part of the Western deep state establishment
hell-bent on dragging the tiny country into NATO (with the highly
unrealistic prospect of EU membership merely being used as a carrot
to placate domestic and international public opinion), in order
to completely
encircle the
last staunch anti-NATO holdouts in Europe outside of Russia and
Belarus – Serbia and the Serbs in neighboring Bosnia-Herzegovina.
It
was bad enough that Western officialdom simply ignored the popular
will of the Macedonians and collectively
pretended that
a 36.91% referendum turnout in fact expressed the “will of the
majority,” and that it was sufficiently legitimate to move the
matter to Parliament, where a two-thirds vote was required to move
forward with the process of amending the constitution. This despite
the fact that the West’s hand-picked prime minister, Zoran
Zaev, had
given assurances before
the referendum that “citizens will make the decision,” and that
Parliament would vote on the necessary constitutional changes only if
the referendum was successful (meaning a 50% + 1 turnout and a
majority “yes” vote).
Then,
five days before the parliamentary vote, US Vice-President Mike Pence
sent a “letter
of support”
to Zaev, ascertaining that Macedonians had, in fact, approved the
name change agreement with Greece after all, because, you see, “90%
(or less than a third of all the Macedonian voters – author’s
note) of those that voted approved the Prespa Agreement.” Two days
later, US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian
Affairs, Wess Mitchell, fired off a letter to
Hristijan Mickoski, the leader of Macedonia’s main opposition party
(which opposes the name change agreement with Greece), VMRO-DPMNE,
expressing “disappointment” with his party’s negative position
vis-à-vis the referendum and the upcoming parliamentary vote and
urging him to “create space” for his party’s MPs to vote “free
from threats of violence, retribution, or other forms of coercion.”
As
it turned out, Mitchell’s just wanted to make sure that “threats
of violence, retribution or other forms of coercion” would remain
the exclusive domain of Zaev’s puppet government and the US
Embassy. And, thus, four days before the parliamentary vote, Zaev put
forth an “indecent
proposal”
for the opposition, i.e. “amnesty for their members who are on
trial for unrest at the Assembly that took place on April 27 of last
year,” when a former
Albanian terrorist guerilla commander was
elected as Parliament Speaker under strong US and EU pressure. Or, as
Zaev pithily put it: “I know that everything has a price. I am
ready to pay it.”
On
voting day, October 19, the vote was delayed three times until the
necessary two-thirds majority was secured. As to how it was secured
was best summarized by a Russian Foreign Ministry statement:
“We
consider what happened as a flagrant violation of all norms – both
from the point of view of the law and in the moral sense… Eight
votes that were necessary to secure a qualified majority were ensured
by the means of blackmailing, threats and bribing opposition
parliament members. Three of them, purely by chance, were released
from arrest on that same day. Two others, who had open cases
investigated by special prosecutors, were promised freedom. Others
received corrupt financial offers in exchange for ‘the right vote’.
Parliament members were locked in their rooms, their cell phones were
seized – this is very much in line with the spirit of European
democratic practice… The American ambassador was present in the
Parliament building until the end of the session, leaving no doubt as
to who was leading the process… Such dirty manipulations cannot be
considered the expression of will of parliament members….”
That
the Russians were not exaggerating was confirmed by, among others,
a tweet from
Greek Defense Minister Panos Kammenos: “Who would have thought that
in Europe of values and democracy those who do not vote according to
instructions are jailed, and those who comply get a 2 million euro
bonus in black money.”
Opposition
leader Mickoski denounced the
parliamentary circus as Macedonia’s “Black Friday” and a case
of “classic rape,” and proceeded to expel from
the party the seven MPs who changed sides and helped secure the
necessary two-thirds vote. Bulgarian daily “Sliven Now” accused the
CIA and Greece’s Soros funds of bribing the renegade Macedonian
MPs. (Links between US diplomats – specifically the present US
Ambassador to Macedonia, Jess Baily – and billionaire
interventionist George Soros and their joint
work on destabilizing Macedonia using
US taxpayer money have been public knowledge for a couple of years.)
According to a former adviser to the Macedonian President, Cvetin
Chilimanov,
the Parliament building was “under siege” on the day of the
voting, teeming with politicians, police and officials from the
public prosecutor’s office, and opposition leaders claimed that
their MPs were offered anywhere from 250.000 to 2 million euros to
change their vote.
Naturally,
as was the failed referendum, the parliamentary charade was hailed by
the usual EU/NATO suspects. EU Commissioner for European Neighborhood
and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn gushed that
it was “a great day for democracy in Skopje,” adding for good
measure his expectation that “the free choice of all MPs is fully
respected.” Hahn also issued a supportive
joint statement with
Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs
and Security Policy and Vice President of the EU Commission. And
NATO’s Gensec Jens Stoltenberg unflinchingly “welcomed”
the outcome of the Macedonian parliamentary shenanigans and urged the
MPs to “seize this historic opportunity.”
The
process is not finished, as two more votes (or “votes”) are
pending in what’s left of the Macedonian Parliament – on a draft
proposal of the necessary constitutional amendments (needing a simple
majority), and on the adoption of the final amendments, for which a
two-thirds majority will once again be needed, along with the
signature of Macedonian President Gjorge Ivanov, who
himself boycotted the
referendum. If everything goes as planned and/or paid, the scene will
then move to the Greek Parliament, which must also vote on the
changes. According to the Prespa
Agreement,
the Macedonian side needs to finish its business by the end of 2018,
and it is expected that the Greek Parliament will do its part in
early 2019. With a little help from their Western friends, no doubt.

Parry schrijft dat Oekraïne weleens de volgende ‘failed state’, of ‘mislukte staat’ staat kan worden, m.i. is Oekraïne dat al. Parry beschrijft zelfs de voorwaarden daarvoor. Voorts stelt Parry, dat Putin daar vervolgens de schuld voor zal krijgen, echter ik heb al politici horen zeggen, dat de chaos en enorme corruptie in Oekraïne, te danken is aan de Russen en Putin in het bijzonder………
Uiteraard wordt daar door de afhankelijke reguliere media in één adem bij vertelt, dat Rusland aan de kant van de ‘pro-Russische opstandelingen’ vecht in Oost-Oekraïne, terwijl daar geen splinter bewijs voor is…..
Trouwens een belachelijk verhaal, dat laatste, immers als het Russische leger echt had gevochten in Oost-Oekraïne, was niet alleen Oost-Oekraïne allang gezuiverd van de neonazi’s*, maar was ook Kiev allang bevrijd. Op dat moment zou Porosjenko allang in het buitenland hebben gezeten, waar hij van ‘zijn’ enorme kapitalen zou hebben genoten, kapitalen die hij via corruptie en fraude het Oekraïense volk heeft ontstolen……

Peeks Through in Ukraine

Exclusive: With
corruption rampant and living standards falling, Ukraine may become
the next failed state that “benefited” from a
neoconservative-driven “regime change,” though the blame will
always be placed elsewhere in this case, on the demonized
Russian President Putin, writes Robert Parry.
Nearly
two years since U.S. officials helped foment a coup in Ukraine partly
justified by corruption allegations the country continues to wallow
in graft and cronyism as the living standards for average Ukrainians
plummet, according to economic data and polls of public attitudes.
Even
the neocon-oriented Wall Street Journal took note of the worsening
corruption in a Jan. 1, 2016 article observing
that “most Ukrainians say the revolution’s promise to replace
rule by thieves with the rule of law has fallen short and the
government acknowledges that there is still much to be done.”
Actually,
the numbers suggest something even worse. More and more Ukrainians
rate corruption as a major problem facing the nation, including a
majority of 53 percent last September, up from 48 percent last June
and 28 percent in September 2014, according to polls by International
Foundation for Electoral Systems.
Meanwhile,
Ukraine’s GDP has fallen in every quarter since the Feb. 22, 2014
putsch that overthrew elected President Viktor Yanukovych. Since
then, the average Ukrainian also has faced economic “reforms” to
slash pensions, energy subsidies and other social programs, as
demanded by the International Monetary Fund.
In
other words, the hard lives of most Ukrainians have gotten
significantly harder while the elites continue to skim off whatever
cream is left, including access to billions of dollars in the West’s
foreign assistance that is keeping the economy afloat.
Part
of the problem appears to be that people supposedly responsible for
the corruption fight are themselves dogged by allegations of
corruption. The Journal cited Ukrainian lawmaker Volodymyr Parasyuk
who claimed to be so outraged by graft that he expressed his fury “by
kicking in the face an official he says owns luxury properties worth
much more than a state salary could provide.”
However,
the Journal also noted that “parliament is the site of frequent
mass brawls [and] it is hard to untangle all the overlapping
corruption allegations and squabbling over who is to blame. Mr.
Parasyuk himself was named this week as receiving money from an
organized crime suspect, a claim he denies.”
Then,
there is the case of Finance Minister Natalie Jaresko, who is
regarded by top American columnists as the face of Ukraine’s
reform. Indeed, a Wall Street Journal op-ed last
month by Stephen
Sestanovich, a senior fellow at the Council on
Foreign Relations, hailed Jaresko as “a tough reformer” whose
painful plans include imposing a 20 percent “flat tax” on
Ukrainians (a favorite nostrum of the American Right which despises a
progressive tax structure that charges the rich at a higher rate).
Sestanovich
noted that hedge-fund billionaire George Soros, who has made a
fortune by speculating in foreign currencies, has endorsed Jaresko’s
plan but that it is opposed by some key parliamentarians who favor a
“populist” alternative that Sestanovich says “will cut rates,
explode the deficit, and kiss IMF money good-bye.”

Yet,
Jaresko is hardly a paragon of reform. Prior to getting instant
Ukrainian citizenship and becoming Finance Minister in December 2014,
she was a former U.S. diplomat who had been entrusted to run a $150
million U.S.-taxpayer-funded program to help jump-start an investment
economy in Ukraine and Moldova.
Jaresko’s
compensation was capped at $150,000 a year, a salary that many
Americans would envy, but it was not enough for her. So, she engaged
in a variety of maneuvers to evade the cap and enrich herself by
claiming millions of dollars in bonuses and fees.
Ultimately,
Jaresko was collecting more than $2 million a year after she shifted
management of the Western NIS Enterprise Fund (WNISEF) to her own
private company, Horizon Capital, and arranged to get lucrative
bonuses when selling off investments, even as the overall WNISEF fund
was losing money, according to official records.
For
instance, Jaresko collected $1.77 million in bonuses in 2013,
according to WNISEF’s latest available
filing with
the Internal Revenue Service. In her financial disclosure forms with
the Ukrainian government, she reported earning $2.66 million in 2013
and $2.05 million in 2014, thus amassing a sizeable personal fortune
while investing U.S. taxpayers’ money supposedly to benefit the
Ukrainian people.
It
didn’t matter that WNISEF continued to hemorrhage money, shrinking
from its original $150 million to $89.8 million in the 2013 tax year,
according to the IRS filing. WNISEF reported that the bonuses to
Jaresko and other corporate officers were based on “successful”
exits from some investments even if the overall fund was losing

Though
Jaresko’s enrichment schemes are documented by IRS and other
official filings, the mainstream U.S. media has turned a blind eye to
this history, all the better to pretend that Ukraine’s “reform”
process is in good hands. (It also turns out that Jaresko did not
comply with Ukrainian law that permits only single citizenship; she
has kept her U.S. passport exploiting a loophole that
gives her two years to show that she has renounced her U.S.
citizenship.)
Propaganda
over Reality
Yet,
as good as propaganda can be especially when the U.S. government and
mainstream media are moving in lockstep reality is not always easily
managed. Ukraine’s continuing and some say worsening corruption
prompted last month’s trip to Ukraine by Vice President Joe Biden
who gave a combination lecture and pep talk to Ukraine’s
parliament.

Of
course, Biden has his own Ukraine cronyism problem because three
months after the U.S.-backed overthrow of the Yanukovych government, Ukraine’s largest private gas firm, Burisma Holdings, appointed his
son, Hunter Biden, to its board of directors.
Burisma a shadowy Cyprus-based company also lined up well-connected lobbyists, some with ties to Secretary of State John Kerry, including Kerry’s former Senate chief of staff David Leiter, according to lobbying disclosures.
As
Time magazine reported,
“Leiter’s involvement in the firm rounds out a power-packed team
of politically-connected Americans that also includes a second new
board member, Devon Archer, a Democratic bundler and former adviser
to John Kerry’s 2004 presidential campaign. Both Archer and Hunter
Biden have worked as business partners with Kerry’s son-in-law,
Christopher Heinz, the founding partner of Rosemont Capital, a
private-equity company.”
According to
investigative journalism inside
Ukraine, the ownership of Burisma has been traced to Privat Bank,
which is controlled by the thuggish billionaire oligarch Ihor
Kolomoysky, who was appointed by the U.S.-backed “reform”
regime to be governor of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, a south-central
province of Ukraine (though Kolomoisky was
eventually ousted from
that post in a power struggle over control of UkrTransNafta,
Ukraine’s state-owned oil pipeline operator).
In his
December speech,
Biden lauded the sacrifice of the 100 or so protesters who died
during the Maidan clashes in February 2014, referring to them by
their laudatory name “The Heavenly Hundred.” But Biden made no
heavenly references to the estimated 10,000 people, mostly ethnic
Russians, who have been slaughtered in the U.S.-encouraged
“Anti-Terror Operation” waged by the coup regime against eastern
Ukrainians who objected to the violent ouster of President
Yanukovych, who had won large majorities in those areas.
Apparently,
heaven is not as eager to welcome ethnic Russian victims of
U.S.-inspired political violence. Nor did Biden take note that some
of the Heavenly Hundred were street fighters for neo-Nazi and other
far-right nationalist organizations.
But
after making his sugary references to The Heavenly Hundred Biden
delivered his bitter medicine, an appeal for the parliament to
continue implementing IMF “reforms,” including demands that old
people work longer into their old age.
Biden
said, “For Ukraine to continue to make progress and to keep the
support of the international community you have to do more, as
well. The big part of moving forward with your IMF program —
it requires difficult reforms. And they are difficult.
“Let
me say parenthetically here, all the experts from our State
Department and all the think tanks, and they come and tell you, that
you know what you should do is you should deal with pensions. You
should deal with — as if it’s easy to do. Hell, we’re
having trouble in America dealing with it. We’re having trouble. To
vote to raise the pension age is to write your political obituary in
many places.
“Don’t
misunderstand that those of us who serve in other democratic
institutions don’t understand how hard the conditions are, how
difficult it is to cast some of the votes to meet the obligations
committed to under the IMF. It requires sacrifices that might
not be politically expedient or popular. But they’re critical
to putting Ukraine on the path to a future that is economically
secure. And I urge you to stay the course as hard as it
is. Ukraine needs a budget that’s consistent with your IMF
commitments.”
Eroding
Support
But
more and more Ukrainians appear to see through the charade in Kiev,
as the poll numbers on the corruption crisis soar. Meanwhile,
European officials seem to be growing impatient with the Ukraine
crisis which has added to the drag on the Continent’s economies
because the Obama administration strong-armed the E.U. into painful
economic sanctions against Russia, which had come to the defense of
the embattled ethnic Russians in the east.
“Many
E.U. officials are fed up with Ukraine,” said one Western official
quoted by the Journal, which added that “accusations of graft by
anticorruption activists, journalists and diplomats have followed to
the new government.”
The
Journal said those implicated include some early U.S. favorites, such
as Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk, “whose ratings have plummeted
to single digits amid allegations in the media and among
anticorruption activists of his associates’ corrupt dealings. Mr.
Yatsenyuk has denied any involvement in corruption and his
associates, one of whom resigned from parliament over the controversy
this month, deny wrongdoing.”

The
controversy over Yatsenyuk’s alleged cronyism led to an
embarrassing moment in December 2015 when an anti-Yatsenyuk lawmaker
approached the podium with a bouquet of roses, which the slightly
built Yatsenyuk accepted only to have the lawmaker lift him up and
try to carry him from the podium.
In
many ways, the Ukraine crisis represents just another failure of
neocon-driven “regime change,” which has also spread chaos across
the Middle East and northern Africa. But the neocons appear to have
even a bigger target in their sites, another “regime change” in
Moscow, with Ukraine just a preliminary move. Of course, that scheme
could put in play nuclear war.
Taking
Aim
The
Ukraine “regime change” took shape in 2013 after Russian
President Putin and President Barack Obama collaborated to tamp down
crises in Syria and Iran, two other prime targets for neocon “regime
changes.” American neocons were furious that those hopes were
dashed. Ukraine became Putin’s payback.
In
fall 2013, the neocons took aim at Ukraine, recognizing its extreme
sensitivity to Russia which had seen previous invasions, including by
the Nazis in World War II, pass through the plains of Ukraine and
into Russia. Carl Gershman, neocon president of the U.S.-funded
National Endowment for Democracy, cited Ukraine as the “biggest
prize” and a key step toward unseating Putin in Moscow. [See

Initially,
the hope was that Yanukovych would lead Ukraine into an economic
collaboration with Europe while cutting ties to Russia. But
Yanukovych received a warning from top Ukrainian economists that a
hasty split with neighboring Russia would cost the country a
staggering $160 billion in lost income.
So,
Yanukovych sought to slow down the process, prompting angry protests
especially from western Ukrainians who descended on Maidan square.
Though initially peaceful, neo-Nazi and other nationalist militias
soon infiltrated the protests and began ratcheting up the violence,
including burning police with Molotov cocktails.
Meanwhile,
U.S.-funded non-governmental organizations, such as the Organized
Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (which receives money from
USAID and hedge-fund billionaire George Soros’s Open Society),
hammered away at alleged corruption in the Yanukovych government.
In
December 2013, Nuland reminded Ukrainian business leaders that the
United States had invested $5 billion in their “European
aspirations,” and in an intercepted phone call in early February
2014 she discussed with U.S. Ambassador Geoffrey Pyatt who Ukraine’s
new leaders would be.
“Yats
is the guy,” Nuland said of Arseniy Yatsenyuk, as she also
disparaged a less aggressive approach by the European Union with the
pithy phrase: “Fuck the E.U.” (Nuland, a former aide to ex-Vice
President Dick Cheney, is the wife of arch-neoconservative ideologue
Robert Kagan.)
Sen.
John McCain also urged on the protests, telling one group of
right-wing Ukrainian nationalists that they had America’s backing.
And, the West’s mainstream media fell in love with the Maidan
protesters as innocent white hats and thus blamed the worsening

Urging
Restraint
In
Biden’s December 2015 speech to the parliament, he confirmed that
he personally pressed on President Yanukovych the need to avoid
violence. “I was literally on the phone with your former President
urging restraint,” Biden said.
However,
on Feb. 20, 2014, mysterious snipers apparently from buildings
controlled by the far right fired on and killed policemen as well as
some protesters. The bloodshed sparked other violent clashes as armed
rioters battled with retreating police.
Although
the dead included some dozen police officers, the violence was blamed
on Yanukovych, who insisted that he had ordered the police not to use
lethal force in line with Biden’s appeal. But the State Department
and the West’s mainstream media made Yanukovych the black-hatted
villain.
The
next day, Feb. 21, Yanukovych signed an accord negotiated and
guaranteed by three European nations to accept reduced powers and
early elections so he could be voted out of office if that was the
public’s will. However, as police withdrew from the Maidan, the
rioters, led by neo-Nazi militias called sotins, stormed government
buildings on Feb. 22, forcing Yanukovych and other officials to flee
for their lives.
In
the West’s mainstream media, these developments were widely hailed
as a noble “revolution” and with lumps in their throats many
journalists averted their misty eyes from the key role played by
unsavory neo-Nazis, so as not to dampen the happy narrative
(although BBC
was among the few MSM outlets that touched on this inconvenient
reality).
Ever
since, the major U.S. news media has stayed fully on board, ignoring
evidence that what happened was a U.S.-sponsored coup. The MSM simply
explains all the trouble as a case of naked “Russian aggression.
There
were kudos, too, when “reformer” Natalie Jaresko was made Finance
Minister along with other foreign “technocrats.” There was no
attention paid to evidence about the dark underside of the Ukrainian
“revolution of dignity,” as Biden called it.
Though
the neo-Nazis sometimes even
teamed up with Islamic jihadists were
the tip of the spear slashing through eastern Ukraine, their
existence was either buried deep inside stories or dismissed as
“Russian propaganda.”
That
was, in effect, American propaganda and, as clever as it was, it
could only control reality for so long.
Even
though the fuller truth about Ukraine has never reached the American
people, there comes a point when even the best propagandists have to
start modifying their rosy depictions. Ukraine appears to have
reached that moment.

De agressie van Nobelprijswinnaar Obama kent letterlijk geen grenzen en dat geld voor alle grenzen op aarde……
Gisteren berichtte Deutsche Wirtschafts Nachrichten, dat de VS nu ook bezig is een opstand te organiseren in Armenië…… Uiteraard met een daaropvolgende onvermijdelijk poging tot een coup……
De VS wil een hulpprogramma voor Armenië opzetten door USAID, een mantelorganisatie voor de CIA……. Zo was USAID de spil in de hulp* aan de Taliban ten tijde van de Russische aanwezigheid in Afghanistan. Russische aanwezigheid, niet via een min of meer illegale oorlog zoals de VS dat heeft gedaan, maar de toenmalige Afghaanse regering had de hulp van de Russen ingeroepen……..
Volgens Wikipedia en wat persorganen, is het lekken van de Panama Papers, het werk van USAID, dit om m.n. Putin uit het zadel te wippen. Die poging is ‘jammerlijk’ mislukt….. Uiteraard stonden er meer van dit soort ‘ anti-VS’ figuren in deze P.P., waar m.n. grote westerse politici ongemoeid werden gelaten, terwijl zij volgens ingewijden wel degelijk in deze Papers genoemd zouden moeten worden….. (een fiks deel ontbreekt aan de Panama Papers….)
Zoals u kon lezen, USAID houdt zich o.a. bezig met het organiseren van opstanden en staatsgrepen en wordt daarin gesteund door smerige hufters als Soros (is/was er niet een aangetrouwd leeghoofd van het koningsmuizennest, die als één van Soros’ secretarissen fungeert, dan wel fungeerde?**)…….. Zo hebben o.a. Soros en USAID de opstand in Macedonië op poten gezet en ook in Oekraïne heeft Soros een smerige rol gespeeld, waar ook USAID niet werkloos zal hebben toegezien…..
De huidige Armeense president Serj Sarkisian en zijn regering hebben nauwe banden met Rusland en zoals u weet: dat is een doodzonde in de ogen van de VS, vandaar……..

‘Macedonië in staat van grote chaos, belangstelling Nederlandse pers bijna nihil…….‘ In dit bericht o.a. aandacht voor de huidige president, waarbij ik tot mijn schaamte moet zeggen, dat ik me teveel op de reguliere media heb verlaten, wat betreft de berichtgeving. Al zal de huidige president waarschijnlijk ‘niet echt’ een lieverdje zijn, maar dat zijn Putin, Obama, May en ga nog maar even door, ‘ook al niet…..’ Waar aan toegevoegd moet worden, dat we met Putin in onze handen mogen knijpen, zonder hem, maar een figuur als Obama, hadden we allang in een volledige WOIII gezeten…….
