commerciële zeehondenbont industrie in Canada wil duizenden nieuwe
slachters opleiden, dit daar veel van deze slachters, die zich
godbetert ‘jager’ durven te noemen, niet meer mee doen aan de
jaarlijkse slachting vanwege de zwaar tegenvallende opbrengsten….

Say
no to more sealhunters
The
commercial sealing industry in Atlantic Canada wants to recruit
thousands of new sealers and train them to shoot, club, impale –
whatever it takes to kill them. These seals suffer in agony, crawling
in their own blood, as sealers drag them across the ice and cut them
open. All for “fashionable fur.”
But
now, the
Canadian Sealers Association wants to breathe new life into the dying
sealing industry.They
want the federal government to lift a decade-long freeze on new
commercial sealing licenses so they can recruit and train a whole new
generation of baby seal killers.
While
there are still licensed commercial sealers, 90 percent of them
decline to participate in the annual hunt because it’s no longer
profitable.
Our
Protect Seals team has documented countless seal pups dying in agony
and used this evidence to persuade numerous countries to ban the
products of this cruel slaughter. With demand plummeting and
opportunities for trade disappearing, there’s no future in
commercial sealing, so why does the government want to continue to
waste Canadian tax dollars to subsidize it?

unimaginable cruelty involved in commercial sealing has convinced
many nations to ban their trade in products of commercial seal hunts.
As a result, the commercial seal slaughter has been reduced to a
fraction of its former size. While thousands of commercial sealers
renew their licenses every year, 90 percent of them no longer

(vluchtelingen) worden opgesloten in gevangenissen in onherbergzame
gebieden, het liefst op eilanden van andere landen, gevangenissen
waar het aan alles ontbreekt en waar deze mensen in onafzienbare
ellende leven…. Uiteraard schendt Australië daarmee het VN vluchtelingenverdrag, zoals de EU dit ook keer op keer doet, de Turkije deal is daarvan wel het ultieme voorbeeld…… (met ‘een mooie rol’ van de inhumane PvdA opperkwal Timmermans….)
Als je je in Australië verzet tegen deze onmenselijke, smerige gang van zaken, wordt je als verrader en communist afgeschilderd…… (alsof links zijn het slechtste is wat er bestaat, terwijl linkse mensen al meer dan 100 jaar vechten voor een leefbare wereld t.b.v. iedereen die daarop leeft)
Op ander gebied doet Australië ook een flinke duit in de zak: de klimaatverandering en de luchtvervuiling. Sinds een aantal jaren dumpen Australië en de VS (al onder Obama) steenkool tegen afbraakprijzen op de wereldmarkt. Daarvoor bouwt Australië wat de grootste kolenhaven op de wereld moet worden, men graaft zelfs een vaargeul dwars door het Grote Barrièrerif, dit om grote kolenschepen toegang tot die haven te bieden……. En ja, als je je daar tegen verzet, word je door de fascistoïde overheid daar als terrorist afgeschilderd……..
Dan is er nog het Nederlandse visfabrieksschip Margiris, dat omgedoopt tot de Abel Tasman de zeeën rond Australië mag leegvissen (eigenaar de Katwijkse firma: Parlevliet & Van der Plas, goed gereformeerde schoften, die schijt hebben aan gods schepping, maar wel elke zondag vooraan in de kerk zitten te jubelen)
Het
volgende bericht is een oproep van Greenpeace Australië aan het
weldenkende deel van de bevolking zich te wenden tot hun federale
vertegenwoordiger om niet akkoord te gaan met voorliggende wetgeving:

Veel mensen zullen waarschijnlijk niet eens op de titel van dit bericht klikken als ze het tegenkomen op het internet, immers de spelen mogen niet worden verpest door iets onbenulligs als de miljoenen mensen die honden- en kattenvlees eten en de miljoenen dieren die hiervoor jaarlijks worden groot- en doodgemarteld….. Waar ‘uiteraard’ al helemaal niet over geluld mag worden, zijn de walgelijke omstandigheden waaronder deze arme dieren worden gehouden en vermoord……..
De honden worden gehouden in veel te kleine kooien, de arme dieren moeten op roosters staan en liggen, in hun eigen poep en urine………
Opvallend: positief nieuwszender Radio1 heeft een aantal journalisten in Zuid-Korea, die dagelijks ook wat Zuid-Koreaanse propaganda tripjes maken en ten gehore brengen op die zender, echter altijd met ‘leuke weetjes’ en vooral geen negatieve berichtgeving, zeker niet over de honden- en kattenvleeshandel, al is Noord-Korea schoppen ‘natuurlijk’ wel toegestaan…..
Begrijp me goed als je van sport houdt en dan m.n. deze winter spelen, geniet er vooral van (al kan ik me er niets bij voorstellen), maar dat deze grootschalige marteling van dieren die wij hier als huisdieren houden en waar we alles voor overhebben, niet enorme aandacht heeft gegenereerd bij de reguliere media is een grof schandaal!

Just 25 miles away from the olympics, the painful sight of Korea’s dog meat trade is laid bare
WONJU, South Korea – A
short drive from the burning Olympic torch and the excited throng of
Winter Games spectators, there was no cheering outside the place
where hundreds of dogs are packed in cages until they are killed for
their meat.
In the rural region of
Wonju, down a winding country lane, sits a farm that provides dog
meat to some of the thousands of South Korean restaurants where
patrons order things such as dog salad, dog ribs, dog stew and dog
hot pot.

The grim surroundings of
the farm pains the senses. The first thing to be noticed is the
sound, pitiful whines and yelps of about 300 animals being kept in
filthy cages until their execution.
Step closer and the
stench fills the nostrils, a sickening waft that spreads over two
long rows of cramped cages.
Some of the dogs do not
survive long enough to be slaughtered. Lying discarded on the mud
floor by the plastic awning, the carcass of a dead Tosa – a rare
breed that originated in Japan. Also in the cages were Jindos, St.
Bernards and golden Labradors.
Most
were emaciated. Many had gaps in their fur where huge sores grew on
their bodies. The cages are elevated, set up so dog feces drops
through gaps in the wire bottom, collecting in huge piles beneath.

journalist Sandy Hooper and myself filmed the gruesome scene for 15
minutes on Saturday morning, using GoPros and iPhones. When we
approached the front of the property in an attempt to speak to the
owners, a man screamed in Korean: “Turn it off, otherwise I’m
going to throw it down!”
The Winter Olympics is
supposed to be one giant commercial for South Korea and its winter
tourism industry, but no public relations effort can cast a favorable
light on the Korean dog meat industry. Pyeongchang organizing
officials were aware enough of the likely international reaction to
Korean dog meat eating practices that they paid nearby restaurants to
take down signs advertising the product’s availability and pleaded
with them to take it off the menu – at least during the Olympics.
It didn’t work. Two
miles from Jinbu station, the main hub serving the primary mountain
cluster of the Games, a trio of restaurants openly served dog
products. They had amended their frontage signs to remove the word
“bosintang” (dog meat stew) and promote goat meat instead, but
that was only outside.

Walk inside and glance up
at the giant white board and the first four menu items, in English
and Korean, are derived from man’s best friend. An elderly Korean
man removed his shoes, entered the room, ordered the stew and sat
down at a row of tables on the floor. Soon, he was served the thick
brown concoction and began slurping down the soup until it was all
gone.
In Korean culture, dog
meat is said to have mythical properties that boost restorative
powers and increase virility. Fearing a backlash from
traditionalists, the Korean government won’t amend the law, despite
president Moon Jae-In having adopted a dog saved from the meat
industry.
Pyeongchang organizers
wish government officials would take action.
“We
are aware of the international concern around the consumption of dog
meat in Korea,” an organizing committee statement read. “This is
a matter which the government should address. We hope that this issue
will not impact on the delivery or reputation of the Games and the
province and we will support the work of the province and government
on this topic as needed. Also, dog meat will not be served at any
Games venue.”
Eating dog meat is a
custom here and it is hard to dispute that. In the United States
millions of animals of countless varieties are slaughtered each year
for meat. To some, the plight of Korean dogs is scarcely any
different to that of American chicken, cows or pigs. To others, there
is something vastly different about a dog, given its relationship to
humans.
Activists
in Korea don’t like the use of dogs for meat but mainly focus their
protest efforts on the methods of killing the animals and their
conditions in captivity.

“If
the Korean people stop eating dog meat there will not be the market
for it,” Kim Jun-Won, president of the Dasom animal rights
organization said, fighting back tears when shown photographs of our
footage as we returned to our vehicle. “But this is wrong and it
breaks my heart. The people who keep animals this way and kill them?
They are the devil.”
Demand is decreasing,
with dog meat meals not particularly popular with younger members of
Korean society. As well as the one described above, USA TODAY Sports
visited two other farms in the area that showed signs of being
operational recently. Both were closed, with the dried feces and even
bones of deceased dogs still visible.
“The
problem is that while smaller facilities close due to lack of
business, larger, better organized ones are popping up,” Kiana
Kang, director of programs and special projects of American
non-profit rescue organization Animal Hope and Wellness said. “This
is the two Koreas. There is the beauty and the culture, and then
there is this.”
Korean dog farmers claim
their sole intention is to try to make a living and insist the
animals are the same as livestock.
A group of Winter Olympic
athletes, including Canadian figure skater Meagan Duhamel, freestyle
skier Gus Kenworthy and snowboarder Lindsey Jacobellis took part in a
recent public service announcement in a bid to raise awareness about
the Korean dog meat trade. Duhamel already owns a rescue Korean dog.
The
United States and Canada are leaders in trying to rescue Korean dogs
and provide them with a new life. In a recent
USA TODAY Sports interview, Californian couple Lana Chung Peck
and her husband Kevin Peck described how many of the animals they
foster and rehabilitate through the Save Korean Dogs organization
have significant issues.
Chung Peck said her dogs
cannot initially walk properly on grass or firm ground, because most
of their lives had previously been spent in the cages, scrambling to
get firm footing on the hard thin metal.
Meanwhile, at the Games,
the first medals were being doled out. The plight of Korea’s dogs
isn’t going to be the major narrative of the Games, the events
themselves and the lingering political turmoil dominate the
headlines.
But it is here, happening
not far from the Olympics, and it’s tough to stomach.

In aanloop naar Wereld Walvis Dag op 18 februari a.s. bracht Animal Petitions gisteren een verhaal over de jacht op deze wonderlijke, slimme en mooie dieren. Aan de hand heeft deze organisatie een aantal vragen voor haar leden.
Wat betreft het gebruik van walvissen, waren een paar zaken voor mij een ontdekking. Zo worden walvissen o.a. gebruikt in cosmetica, biodiesel en golfballen!!
Zoals je ongetwijfeld weet, is Japan één van de landen, die nog steeds de barbaarse en uiterst gewelddadige walvisjacht blijft uitvoert……… Wat ik dan weer niet wist is het feit dat Japan jaarlijks ook een groot aantal zwangere walvissen vangt en vermoord……..
Walvisvlees is (goddank) erg ongezond, bevat onder meer PCB’s, kwik, DDT en landbouwgif en wordt zelfs door restaurants in de VS en Canada geïmporteerd……. Overigens kunnen de Nederlandse oranjedwazen die voor de Olympische Spelen in Zuid-Korea zijn, ook daar walviskadaver eten……..
De smerige moord op walvissen moet nu eindelijk eens helemaal verboden worden, laten we de landen die walvissen jagen boycotten, om te beginnen Japan! Made in Japan? Niet kopen!

Series: It’s 2018 and Countries are Still Killing Whales
Japan
recently set out on their annual whaling mission to kill hundreds of
minke whales in the name of scientific research. On these excursions,
whales are shot with a grenade harpoon that is connected to a moving
ship, causing them to die a slow and painful death.
In
2016, 200 of the minke whales killed by Japan were pregnant due to
the fact that they perform these hunts during the whales’ breeding
season. Japan is only one of three countries that continues hunting
whales after a moratorium on commercial whaling was put in place by
the International Whaling Commission (IWC). The IWC was set up in
1946 to protect whales from extinction and to regulate the commercial
whaling industry. They set catch limits for certain areas and
species, designate areas as whale sanctuaries, protect mother whales
and their calves, and control the types of methods used when hunting
is allowed.
In
1986, the IWC, after observing a steep decline of whale populations
due to hunting, created a moratorium for commercial whaling
dramatically decreasing the number of whales killed every year.
Norway, Iceland and Japan have all sought out workarounds in order to
continue their own personal whaling industries. Whaling is extremely
detrimental to whale populations due to long reproduction cycles, and
Japan’s hunting season aligning with breeding season makes that
even harder. Japan uses the scientific research loophole to allow
them to kill hundreds of whales every year, claiming that their
mission is to perform “research for the purpose of studying the
ecological system in the Antarctic Sea”. Norway and Iceland both
whale under an objection to the moratorium, and they self regulate
their own quotas.
The
international community is not blind to Japan’s abuse of the
loophole and has been meeting to solve this problem. The European
Union, along with Australia, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica,
the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, New Zealand, Panama, Peru and
Uruguay have all come out against Japan’s abuse of the system,
pointing out that these hunts are not based on science and provide no
new scientific value. The International Court of Justice (ICJ) has
agreed that they are merely hunting whales for their meat. In 2015,
the ICJ’s ruling prevented Japan from slaughtering whales during
that year’s hunt, and their crews were only able to take skin
samples and head counts of the whales, but by the next year, they
were back at it killing over 300 whales.
Whaling
is not only unsustainable and cruel, but their meat is also extremely
unhealthy and can be dangerous when consumed. Top predators such as
large mammals like whales accumulate large amounts of heavy metals
and organochlorines of the smaller fish they feed on. These toxins
bond easily with fat, making the high blubber content of whales the
perfect storage place for them. Metals like mercury and
organochlorines such as polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB’s) and
dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane (DDT’s) are the most dangerous of
the toxins found in whales, and they can cause major health problems
in humans when consumed in higher quantities. PCB’s have shown to
cause nerve damage, reproductive and developmental disorders, immune
system suppression, liver damage, and endocrine disruption. DDT
exposure has shown to cause certain types of cancer, as well as
neurological and reproductive disorders. Mercury consumption can also
cause neurological and developmental problems.
The
most contaminated meat comes from fish or mammal eaters such as
dolphins, sperm whales, and beaked whales. Minke whales are known to
feed lower on the food chain, making them safer to consumer, but they
still contain unsafe levels of PCB’s and pesticides. Even worse for
those consuming whale, studies have found that dolphin or beaked
whale meat is often sold under the name of “kujira”, claiming to
be minke meat.
Japan,
Norway, Iceland and Canada are the biggest consumers of whale meat,
with Japan serving it in schools and hospitals to encourage the
practice. But, the whale meat industry as a whole has been on the
decline in recent years. It is no longer a sustainable business
unless heavily subsidized by their governments. A large portion of
the meat is being frozen and stockpiled, while some of it is actually
making its way into US and South Korean restaurants. In Denmark, it
is suspected to be found in farm animal food. But it isn’t just the
food industry that is supporting this business. The health and beauty
industry is also a big supporter, with whale products turning up in
cosmetics and health supplements. Norway and Japan continue to invest
into research for the potential of utilizing whale oil for
pharmaceutical products, nutritional supplements such as fish oil,
and to feed farmed fish and livestock.
There are currently thousands
of patents on products containing whale, and the products range from
golf balls to eco-friendly laundry detergents to bio-diesel. The
research into these new uses has shown an increase over the last few
years, causing concern for some that the whaling industry may be on
the rise yet again.
February
18th is World Whale Day. Celebrate this year by joining in on a
fundraiser, spread the word on social media, and help bring awareness
to the fragility of our oceans and all of those giant creatures who
inhabit them. We have to educate the public on the dangers of whale
meat consumption, as well as protect these majestic creatures from
extinction. Public awareness can make a big difference in keeping the
whaling industry unsustainable. Speak up and celebrate all whales on
February 18th.

In Argos vanmiddag op Radio1 een reportage over verwarde personen en dan m.n. de aanpak van politie en wat dit betekent voor deze mensen, de omgeving, politie-inzet en wat de oorzaken zijn.
Een gedegen reportage, al ontbrak er wat mij betreft nog wel het e.e.a.
Doet er verder niet toe, het gaat erom wat de enorme plork van Weezel na het einde van de reportage durfde te zeggen: “Om niet de indruk te wekken dat ik een verwarde persoon ben, heb ik al m’n papiertjes keurig op volgorde liggen……”
Is deze nep-journalist* nou helemaal gek geworden? Alsof het leuk is om de weg kwijt te raken in onze huidige ijskoude, inhumane prestatiegerichte neoliberale maatschappij en dakloos over de straten te moeten zwerven……. Terwijl de opvolgende regeringen hebben verzaakt deze mensen behoorlijk onderdak en psychische hulp te bieden…… (regeringen die liever geld in diepe donkere putten donderen, dan wel in de zakken van welgestelden en bedrijven laten vloeien) Dit met dank aan: VVD, PvdA, CDA, D66, CU en SGP, maar met name aan hare VVD kwaadaardigheid Schippers die de laatste 7 jaar minister van Volksgezondheid mocht spelen en vooral veel heeft bezuinigd op de GGZ**. Deze VVD ploert durfde zelfs te zeggen dat je met een depressie ook bij de buurvrouw terecht kan…. Onder Schippers liepen de wachttijden voor de Jeugd GGZ behoorlijk op, ook al een waanzinnige prestatie…!!
Laat ik bij deze de wens uitspreken dat van Weezel (alsook Schippers) in rap tempo de weg kwijt raakt en dakloos over de straat moet zwerven…… Wat een schoft!
Zoals al vaker verzucht op deze plaats: hoe is het mogelijk dat de namaak-journalist van Weezel nog steeds het journalistieke onderzoekprogramma Argos mag presenteren? (voor meer achterlijke uitspraken van van Weezel, klik op het label met zijn naam, direct onder dit bericht)
* Hij durfde het al eens aan op Radio1 te melden dat hij in bepaalde gevallen zeker niet alles bekend zal maken van zaken die hij als ‘journalist’ achterhaalt, dan wel deze geheel zal verzwijgen……..
** Overigens zijn Balkenende 4, Rutte 1 en 2 verantwoordelijk voor waardeloos beleid, waardoor onnodig ongelofelijk veel mensen werkloos zijn geworden, werkloosheid één van de aanleidingen waarom mensen verward raken, immers door het werkloos worden ontstaan (ook financiële) spanningen en kan men door de oplopende schulden veelal niet in het ‘eigen huis’ blijven wonen…….. Dat dit bijvoorbeeld in een gezin tot grote spanningen leidt en met grote regelmaat uitmondt in een (echt-) scheiding, zal je niet verbazen. Zoals het niet vreemd is dat veel van deze mensen de weg kwijt raken. En dan laten dit soort schoftenregeringen deze mensen barsten, hevelen de zorg over naar gemeenten en wassen de vieze handen in onschuld…. Je kan deze regeringen zelfs verantwoordelijk stellen voor het fiks toegenomen aantal zelfdodingen door in feite GGZ patiënten……
Om nog eens aan te geven hoe inhumaan, ijskoud de neoliberale VS werkelijk is, worden daklozen massaal gedeporteerd, weg uit de steden…….. Dit staat in scherp contrast tot wat het grootste deel van de andere westerse politici en de reguliere westerse media je vertellen, sterker nog die de VS meestal voorstellen als lichtend voorbeeld……
Meer dan 50 miljoen mensen in de VS zijn afhankelijk van voedselbonnen (dat zijn overigens geen daklozen). Dan is er nog een enorm aantal mensen, die leven in tentsteden, nadat ze hun huis uit moesten (ten gevolge van de 2008 bankencrisis)…….. Deze mensen worden door de VS overheden niet tot daklozen gerekend……. Echter met deze mensen, die uiteraard wel dakloos zijn, opgeteld bij ‘het normale aantal daklozen’, zou het totaal aantal daklozen in de VS boven de 3,5 miljoen liggen….. De landelijke overheid in de VS spreekt over rond de 500.000 daklozen…… ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha!

Deutsche Wirtschafts Nachrichten bracht gisteren het bericht dat ook de fascistenregering van Oostenrijk gaat jagen op vluchtelingen, zoals het fascistische Hongarije dat al veel langer doet met speciale en ‘met scherp bewapende troepen………’
De nieuwe (fascistische) minister van Binnenlandse Zaken, Herbert Kickl liet trots weten dat het met de nieuwe speciale troepen onmogelijk zal zijn voor vluchtelingen het land binnen te glippen…….. Tja je doet als NAVO land al mee aan illegale oorlogen van de VS, dat is al duur genoeg, dan wil je natuurlijk niet nog eens met één van de negatieve gevolgen van die oorlog, het op de vlucht slaan van mensen, worden geconfronteerd, ‘normaal toch…??’
En dan durven de reguliere media te zeggen dat ‘populistische partijen’ (en een beweging als de PVV), waarmee deze media fascistische partijen* bedoelen, in verschillende verkiezingen niet de grootste partijen zijn geworden en daarmee niet waarmaken waar men bang voor was…….. Echter voorlopig groeien deze partijen met elke volgende verkiezing, zoals de PVV dat ook gestaag doet, alleen UKIP (Groot-Brittannië) is een uitzondering…. De EU is bezig met een fascismisering en reken maar dat deze fascisten, die nu nog tegen de EU zijn, als ze ook in de EU het grootst worden, de EU wet- en regelgeving naar hun hand zullen zetten……

richtet Grenzschutz-Truppe gegen Migranten ein
Österreichs Regierung will im Bedarfsfall binnen Stunden in der Lage sein, seine Grenzen dichtzumachen.

Der neue österreichische Innenminister Herbert Kickl von der FPÖ hat die Bildung einer eigenen Grenzschutz-Einheit angekündigt. Diese solle in der Lage sein, innerhalb weniger Stunden Sperren und Kontrollen an Österreichs Grenzübergängen einzurichten, sagte Kickl am Donnerstag der „Tiroler Tageszeitung“.
„Ein Durchwinken wird es nicht mehr geben“, sagte der Minister mit Blick auf die Flüchtlingskrise im Jahr 2015, als Hunderttausende über Österreich nach Deutschland und in andere EU-Länder gereist waren. Ziel sei es, binnen weniger Stunden „an den Grenzen ein geordnetes Grenzmanagement gewährleisten zu können“. Bei der Grenzschutz-Einheit werde es sich um eine Bereitschaftstruppe der Polizei handeln, die „im Bedarfsfall“ Grenzübergänge sichern und dort Identitäten feststellen werde, sagte Kickl.
Die im Dezember angetretene und vom konservativen ÖVP-Chef Sebastian Kurz geführte österreichische Regierung hat angekündigt, einen harten Kurs gegenüber Asylbewerbern und Flüchtlingen einzuschlagen. Die FPÖ stellt sechs Minister. Unter anderem hat sie die Schlüsselressorts Inneres, Äußeres und Verteidigung inne.
Bei einem Besuch des neuen österreichische Bundeskanzlers Sebastian Kurz bei Bundeskanzlerin Angela Merkel in Berlin waren zuvor deutliche Unterschiede in der Migrationspolitik der beiden Staaten zu Tage getreten.

Snap niet helemaal waarom men zich in dit ‘land of the free, ‘the land of equal
opportunities’, of zelfs ‘promised land’ zo ongelofelijk druk maakt over deze zaak, nogmaals: over een
jonge vrouw die in de vrieskou door een paar ‘dappere’
veiligheidsbeambten van een ziekenhuis in een rolstoel naar buiten
werd gereden, waarna ze haar aan haar lot overlieten, terwijl ze nog
was gekleed in ziekenhuiskleding…….. Waarom ik ‘dit niet snap?
Oké,
gelukkig dat men zich daar nog druk over maakt in de VS, een patiënt in de kou op straat zetten, maar waarom komen de
mensen uit de grote onderlaag en hun sympathisanten daar niet in opstand? Zeker als je ziet
dat de overgrote meerderheid van die mensen niet eens een aantal (niet zelden levensreddende) medicijnen
kunnen betalen, laat staan dat ze zich kunnen laten opnemen, bijvoorbeeld omdat ze terminaal zijn, maar het thuis niet meer uithouden van de
pijn……..
Obamacare heeft daar maar voor een relatief klein deel een eind aan gemaakt, waar Trump zelfs deze magere winst voor een deel van de onderlaag (waaronder veel mensen met meerdere banen…) onderuit wil halen en haalt……..
Ik hoop
dat door deze beelden, de mensen in de VS eindelijk eens gaan nadenken over wat
de overheid hen aandoet……. .Als je ziet dat, zoals gezegd, de Trump
administratie zelfs de al gebrekkige Obamacare uitkleedt, begrijp je
werkelijk niet dat men haar overheid laat begaan met dit barbaarse inhumane neoliberale beleid…….. De VS ‘het land’ waar NB meer dan 50 miljoen mensen
afhankelijk zijn van voedselbonnen…….
Deze voedselbonnen
zijn noodzakelijk voor de armsten om aan nog aan enigszins
fatsoenlijk voedsel te kunnen komen……. Overigens was het wat dit
betreft amper beter dan onder ‘vredesduif’ Obama….. Hoe is het
mogelijk dat de meeste rechtse republikeinen, zonder daarvoor te
worden gestraft, kunnen pleiten de armsten zelfs hun voedselbonnen af te
nemen, ‘daar dit de mensen lui zou maken……’ Een uitspraak waar
een enorme straf op zou moeten staan, zeker anno 2018….. Het
lullige is dat deze politici veelal ook nog worden gesteund door de
kerk en/of haar vertegenwoordigers…… Op zondag zit hetzelfde smerige geteisem dan ook vooraan in de kerk, gods lof te bejubelen……
Vind je
het gek dat mensen letterlijk knettergek worden van het leven in de VS, volkomen getraumatiseerd en anderszins doorgedraaid wapens pakken en daarmee
tekeer gaan…… Niet voor niets dat er in de VS amper een dag
voorbijgaat waarin niet een meervoudige moord plaatsvindt……..
(waarvan wij alleen de extreemste gevallen te horen krijgen, er
bestaat zelfs al ‘mediamoeheid’ rond dit onderwerp…….)
Nee, als
er een dame in de vrieskou wordt gezet, een gevolg van het uitermate
mensonvriendelijke schunnige beleid, staat men in de VS op de kop,
terwijl tegelijkertijd mensen niet worden behandeld voor kanker, daar
ze niet goed genoeg verzekerd, of zelfs helemaal niet verzekerd
zijn……….
Ondanks
dat Trump het vooral moest hebben van het armste deel van de witte
bevolking, laat hij ze net zo hard weer donderen, alleen de
welgestelden en bedrijven profiteren van het fascistoïde, inhumane
neoliberale schoften beleid dat de huidige administratie
voert………
Je zou
bijna de grote onderlaag in de VS oproepen in opstand te komen, helaas
maak je dan van jezelf een doelwit voor de fascisten in
Washington en Langley…………

“Attempted
murder” is how one analyst described the medical center’s
decision to leave an incapacitated young woman at a bus stop in
frigid weather.
(COMMONDREAMS) — Described
as a horrifying depiction of “the
reality of U.S. for-profit healthcare,”
a Baltimore-based psychotherapist this week caught on video
University of Maryland Medical Center staff “dumping” a clearly
incapacitated young woman into the freezing Maryland weather wearing
only a thin hospital gown and socks.
“Is
this what healthcare in Baltimore City has come to?” asked Imamu
Baraka, who captured the “disturbing” scene on his cell phone.
The video has since garnered more than two million views.
Baraka’s
video soon sparked national headlines and widespread outrage, with
many noting that “patient dumping” is a pervasive and
under-discussed product of a system that does not guarantee
healthcare as a right to all.
RoseAnn
DeMoro, executive director of National Nurses United, concluded that
the only solution is to “implement single-payer, Medicare for All
or Americans continue to suffer/die.”
Others
echoed DeMoro’s call, arguing that the medical center’s behavior
is essentially “attempted
murder.”
The
hospital issued
an apology following
the flood of outrage, taking “full responsibility for this failure”
to provide “basic humanity and compassion.”
“We
are taking this matter very seriously, conducting a thorough review,
and are evaluating the appropriate response, including the
possibility of personnel action,” hospital spokeswoman Lisa Clough
said in a statement.

Daklozen
uit Windsor moeten weg voor de peperdure ‘koninklijke bruiloft’ die
deze plaats te wachten staat op 19 mei a.s. als nazi-sympathisant en
belastinguitvreter prins Harry in het huwelijk treedt (met wie interesseert me niet)………Het hoofd van de gemeenteraad (?
‘council leader’), Simon Dudley wil dat de politie alle daklozen van de
straat haalt, alsof het een misdaad is dat je dakloos bent!
Het
is een enorme schending van de mensenrechten (en wat mij betreft een
grove misdaad) daklozen als criminelen af te schilderen en hen te
laten oppakken voor NB een achterlijk duur feest. Besteedt dit geld
maar aan hulp voor de daklozen en de grote arme onderlaag in GB,
dagelijks gaan daar nog steeds meer dan 4 miljoen kinderen met honger
naar school. Daar krijgen die kinderen een ontbijt, daar de inhumane neoliberale Tory topschoften ‘bang zijn’ dat de ouders het geld voor maaltijden zullen verkwisten en daarmee kunnen
de autoriteiten de kinderen goed laten voelen dat ze uit een arm
gezin ‘van losers’ komen, waarmee deze kinderen een trauma oplopen dat ze hun leven niet meer kwijtraken…… Niet moeilijk te bedenken dat deze kinderen worden gepest door hun meer welgestelde klasgenoten……….
Het
is gvd 2018, je zou eerder denken dat het 1818 is………

homeless be removed from the streets for royal wedding. This is a
dispicable use of political power and should not be allowed.
Dudley
wants policeto
use force in removing anyone rough sleeping or begging. He wants to
criminalize homelessness. THAT IS INSANE. Homeless
people may
be far more likely to be victims of
crimes than criminals themselves.
If
Dudley actually cared about the homeless people in Windsor, he would
focus on community programs that actually help them, not on using
police force to move them out of his way. This is purely because he
doesn’t like the way homeless people look. But they are people, they
are part of their communities and trying to brush them under the rug
is just plain wrong.

1 januari jl. is het minimumloon in de VS verhoogt naar het schandalig lage federale
niveau van houd je vast: $ 7.25 per uur…….
Het
‘hoogste’ minimumloon verdient men sinds afgelopen maandag in de staat
Washington, met een bedrag van $ 11.50 per uur……….. Let wel, gezien de koers van de dollar het laatste jaar moet je daar voor omrekening naar euro’s nog eens rond de 20% van aftrekken, ofwel meer dan € 2,–…….
De VS,
het land van de ‘ongekende mogelijkheden’, althans voor de welgestelden en
ondernemers……..
Moet je
nagaan, het grootste deel van de republikeinen is zelfs tegen deze
armzalige loonsverhoging……. Wat een ploert moet je dan zijn, maar
op zondag zit dat inhumane geteisem uiteraard jubelend voor in de kerk…..
Het is zelfs zo zot dat een aantal staten die republikeins worden bestuurd, wetten hebben aangenomen, waarin een verbod is opgenomen om op lokaal niveau de minimumlonen te verhogen, dit daar de bonden en arbeiders ‘iets teveel succes hadden’, met hun strijd voor een verhoging van het minimumloon….. Zo werd in St. Louis het minimumloon verlaagd van $ 10.– naar het federale minimumloon van $ 7.25 per uur (in het onderstaande artikel wordt daar gesproken over $ 7.70 per uur, echter dat moet zoals u eerder kon en zo kan lezen $ 7.25 zijn)…….

Wage Raises Coming To 18 States On New Year’s Day
Some
hikes (loonsverhogingen, Ap)
are less than a quarter an hour. But when you’re making minimum
wage, every penny counts.
Minimum
wage workers in 18 states will get a pay hike next week when higher
wage floors go into effect around the country for 2018.
With
the federal minimum wage remaining just $7.25 per hour, more and more
states have opted to implement
their own, higher rates that
local employers must observe. Many of the bumps slated for New Year’s
Day come courtesy of recent ballot initiatives approved by voters or
bills passed by statehouses, in red and blue states alike.
Some
of those states have laws requiring that the minimum wage is adjusted
each year according to an inflation index, to rise with the cost of
living. So several of the raises amount to less than a quarter an
hour.
But
other states that recently enacted new laws will have more
significant increases. Maine’s will move a full dollar, to $10.
Hawaii’s will rise 85 cents, to $10.10. And Colorado’s will
increase 90 cents, to $10.20.
Here
are the states with new minimum wages, according to the Economic
Policy Institute, a think tank that tracks minimum wage legislation:

institute estimates that the raises will impact 4.5
million workers.

The
federal minimum wage hasn’t budged in more
than eight years and
prevails in any state that doesn’t mandate a higher one. The last
hike, in 2009, was the result of a series of increases signed into
law by President George W. Bush. President Barack
Obama stumped
for a minimum wage hike throughout his second term, but Republicans
in Congress blocked Democratic proposals from coming up for a vote.
Minimum
wage bumps tend to be popular with the general public, with support
often crossing partisan lines. A HuffPost
YouGov poll last
year found that more than half of all Americans thought a minimum
wage raise would be good for workers, while only a third thought it
would be a bad idea. The backing was greatest ― and most bipartisan
― for a modest hike to $10.10, as opposed to a bolder raise to $15.
Buoyed
by that support, labor unions and low-wage workers have succeeded in
getting raises passed on the state and local levels as the federal
rate has stayed stagnant. Voters have approved minimum wage
referendums even in more conservative states like Nebraska and South
Dakota. Twenty-nine states and the District of Columbia now require a
higher minimum wage than the federal one.
Dozens
of cities and counties have also raised their minimum wages beyond
the state and federal levels. In some cases, the hikes have gone as
high as $15 per hour ― the stated goal of the Fight for $15
campaign, the union-backed movement that began with striking
fast-food workers in 2012 but soon spread to other low-wage
industries.
All
that success by activists has prompted a backlash from Republican
state lawmakers seeking to rein in minimum wage hikes. More than two
dozen states
now have “preemption”
laws on
their books that block localities from implementing their own raises.
Many of these laws were passed in just the last few years to thwart
campaigns by workers and unions.
Just
this year, Republicans in Missouri passed a preemption law to
retroactively kill a minimum wage hike enacted by city leaders in St.
Louis. Under the new law, no locality could have a wage floor higher
than the one mandated by the state. As HuffPost reported in July, the
new law had the effect of reversing St.
Louis’ minimum wage, taking it from $10 to the current state level
of $7.70.
Als u wel eens eet bij McDonalds of een andere pestfood-keten eet, steunt u deze schandalige lage minimumlonen, al deze ketens betalen hun personeel in de VS schunnig weinig (trouwens de medewerkers hier verdienen ook alles behalve voldoende…..)….. Boycotten die hap waardeloos voedsel!
