Aanslag op Cristina Fernández de Kirchner terwijl ze wordt beschuldigd van fraude: een ‘Lulaatje’

De mislukte aanslag afgelopen vrijdag op Cristina de Kirchner, de vicepresident van Argentinië, die gepleegd zou zijn door een Braziliaan, haalde het nieuws naar voren dat ze wordt verdacht van fraude, of beter gezegd corruptie bij openbare aanbestedingen……. De van de staat afhankelijke zendgemachtigde NOS vond het nodig om in één van haar berichten te stellen dat de Kirchner zorgt voor tweedeling in het land….. Als er al sprake is van een tweedeling in Argentinië is dat zeker niet te danken aan de Kirchner, maar aan de rk kerk van wie de ‘geestelijken’ niet wensen te leven onder een halfslachtig links beleid…. De rk kerk roept haar ‘schapen’ dan ook op niet links te stemmen, zodoende heeft rechts zo af en toe de kans om te regeren….. De grote misbruik zaak met rk geestelijken zaak de afgelopen jaren heeft ervoor gezorgd dat de invloed van deze kerk ook in Argentinië flink is afgenomen. Trouwens van een echte tweedeling is geen sprake daar de tegenstanders van de Kirchner tot een minderheid behoren, die bestaat uit de rijke minderheid en het gegoede deel deel van de middenklasse.  

Niet voor niets ook dat de huidige paus Franciscus, ofwel meneer Bergoglio, goede banden onderhield met figuren van het kolonelsregime zoals de destijds juntaleider Videla en de familie van ‘onze koningin’: Zorreguieta…. Een andere steunpilaar van deze minderheid is de VS dat telkens weer ingrijpt als links aan het bewind komt in Latijns Amerikaanse landen, zo zat de VS ook onder het afzetten van de Boliviaanse president Evo Morales en het meest beruchte voorbeeld, de staatsgreep en moord van 11 september 1972 op de Chileense president Allende* (de eerste 9/11, betaald door de VS en georganiseerd en geregisseerd door de CIA…..)

De Kirchner wordt dus beschuldigd van fraude en het OM van Argentinië heeft 12 jaar gevangenisstraf tegen haar geëist. Deze zaak doet sterk denken aan de zaak tegen de voormalige president van Brazilië, Lula da Silva, ook hij werd beschuldigd van fraude en corruptie, echter zijn naam is intussen gezuiverd….. Ook in deze zaak bleek de CIA gedeeltelijke een kwalijke rol te spelen….. Het moet dan ook wel erg gek gaan als de Kirchner niet het slachtoffer is van een ‘Lulaatje’, ook zij is als Lula te populair onder het grootste deel van het volk (de NOS stelde in het artikel met de titel: ‘Honderdduizenden Argentijnen de straat op uit solidariteit met Kirchner‘ zoals gezegd dat de Argentijnse samenleving in tweeën is gespleten door de Kirchner, jammer genoeg staat de naam van de schrijver er niet bij, daar de NOS maar al te vaak gebruik maakt van correspondenten die afgeven op linkse regeringen in Latijns-Amerika, ‘geheel toevallig’ ook de mening van de opvolgende waardeloze kabinetten die ons land rijk was en nog is…..)

De beschuldigingen aan het adres van Lula leidde tot een onvoorwaardelijke gevangenisstraf waardoor hij niet mocht deelnemen aan de verkiezingen en deze verloor, waardoor de fascistische psychopaat Bolsonaro aan het bewind kwam, de ploert die het Amazonewoud vrij gaf voor vernieling middels economisch gewin, uiteraard ook ten voordele van grote bedrijven uit de VS……

Een foto van de demonstratie die gisteren plaatsvond in de Argentijnse hoofdstad Buenos Aires, een foto uit het NOS artikel waarvan ik hierboven een link weergaf, in dat artikel ook nog een korte video met deze demonstratie.

Inderdaad gisteren gingen er honderdduizenden Argentijnen de straat op en sommige bronnen spreken over meer dan één miljoen demonstranten die voor de Kirchner de straat opgingen. En reken maar niet dat er zoveel mensen de straat op zouden gaan voor een rechtse politicus……

* Toevallig wordt er vandaag een referendum gehouden in Chili voor het vervangen van de huidige grondwet die werd opgesteld door de fascistisch psychopathische juntaleider en massamoordenaar Pinochet…..

De Argentijnse neoliberale (‘conservatieve’) regering Macri (een goede vriend van de wolf in schaapskleren paus Franciscus) heeft na een fikse lobby bij het IMF, haar handtekening gezet onder een lening van 50 miljard dollar van deze neoliberale organisatie, daarmee is het land waarschijnlijk voor decennia in het IMF pak genaaid……

Ofwel: de Argentijnen zullen afhankelijk blijven van het IMF en na een verkiezingsoverwinning van links in de nabije toekomst, zal zo’n regering in feite zo goed als niets kunnen doen voor de grote arme onderlaag in Argentinië. Nog simpeler gezegd: het IMF zal in feite het land leiden, zoals de Griekse regering (van de ‘socialistische’ verrader Tsipras*) is verworden tot een marionet van het IMF en de EU, waar de laatste twee in feite een dictatuur vormen in Griekenland…….

Daarnaast heeft Argentinië ook bij de Wereldbank en Zuid-Amerikaanse banken een lening van bijna 6 miljard dollar afgesloten…….

De VS liet vorige maand weten dat het dolblij was met de lening van het IMF voor Argentinië….. Niet zo vreemd als je ziet dat een links regeringsbeleid in de toekomst onmogelijk werd gemaakt met die lening……. Voorlopig hoeft de CIA geen ‘regime change’ (lees: staatsgreep) na te streven in Argentinië…..

Ongelofelijk, of eigenlijk schandalig dat de consequenties van die IMF lening voor het grootste deel van de Argentijnse bevolking, niet in de reguliere media is beschreven……..

Intussen is de staatsschuld van Argentinië zover opgelopen dat deze niet in afzienbare tijd zal kunnen worden afgelost, waar bovenop de regering Macri in 2016 heeft toegezegd een in feite al afgeschreven schuld uit 2001, alsnog te zullen voldoen, alsof dit in het belang is van het Argentijnse volk……..

* Al moet ik zeggen dat Tsipras waarschijnlijk is gewaarschuwd dat wanneer zijn regering niet akkoord ging, er een militaire staatsgreep zou plaatsvinden door NAVO leider VS en haar hielenlikkende NAVO lidstaten in de EU….. Als dat inderdaad zo is, had Tsipras moeten aftreden en de zaak in de media moeten gooien…… Zeker nadat hij al wist dat de armoede in Griekenland enorm groot was en velen niet eens de beschikking hadden over kanker medicatie, of pijnstillers bij chronische pijnklachten……. Aan de hiervoor beschreven situatie in Griekenland is intussen niets veranderd….. Bovendien zijn de Griekse staatseigendommen voor 99 jaar (!!!) overgedragen aan het Europees Stabiliteitsmechanisme (ESM), dat naar goeddunken deze eigendommen voor een appel en ei kan verkopen aan buitenlandse investeerders…….

Argentijnse regering naait het volk in IMF pak

Het
IMF leent de totaal onverantwoordelijke regering van Argentinië het
voor dit land fenomenaal grote bedrag van 50 miljard dollar.

Alsof
het geld gratis is zo laat de Argentijnse regering weten blij te zijn
met deze meer dan waanzinnige deal…….

Eerder
gaf de Argentijnse regering een obligatielening uit waar deze voor
100 jaar een vaste winst garandeert………

De
grote
onderlaag zal weer keihard worden gepakt met deze lening, zoals dit
eerder deze eeuw (zie het tweede hieronder opgenomen artikel uit 2004
met de titel ‘IMF
admits mistakes in Argentina crisis‘)
en
in de 90 er jaren al eens het geval was. Argentinië zal zich met deze
deal moeten onderwerpen aan het IMF en haar keiharde neoliberale eisen tot hervormingen…….

Begin
deze eeuw versterkte een grote lening van het IMF de crisis in Argentinië en ook nu is de verwachting dat dit zal gebeuren…….

Argentinië verwordt met deze IMF lening tot het Zuid-Amerikaanse Griekenland,
waar de welgestelden, zoals die in Griekenland al lang hun kapitaal
hebben veiliggesteld in het buitenland (2 vliegen in 1 klap >> ten eerste het geld is veilig voor eventuele faillissementen van banken (of grote belastingverhogingen op vermogen), ten tweede: de ontduiking van belastingen op enorme schaal…… (waar familie Zorreguieta, je weet wel de familie van pampakoningin Maxima, ook
tot de welgestelden behoort……)

De
arme bevolking van Griekenland, intussen het grootste deel van de
bevolking weet wat dit betekent, zoals de ouderen die daar praktisch
geen pensioen meer ontvangen (waar ze zelf voor spaarden), of wat dacht je van kankerpatiënten die de benodigde medicamenten zoals pijnstillers niet meer kunnen
betalen……..

De
Griekse schuld is zo hoog dat de (lage) rentebetalingen al niet zijn te voldoen, laat staan dat het land tot aflossen van de enorme schuld zal komen, hetzelfde lot wacht Argentinië…….

Lees
nogmaals hoe ijskoud, inhumaan neoliberaal beleid tot grote ellende
zal leiden onder de grote maatschappelijke onderlaag van Argentinië en de crisis daar alleen zal verdiepen…… Bovendien regeert president en regeringsleider Mauricio Macri van de Propuesta Republicana, kortweg PRO, over zijn eigen graf en dat van nakomende regeringen, immers Argentinië heeft met deze lening een groot deel van de zeggenschap in eigen land vrijwillig overgedragen aan het IMF…….. 

Daarmee is het zeker dat Argentinië zich met hart en ziel heeft verbonden aan het ijskoude, inhumane neoliberalisme, waar zelfs een socialistische regering niets tegen kan ondernemen…… Zie de Griekse situatie waar Tsipras een zogenaamde socialist zijn land uit handen heeft gegeven aan de Europese Commissie, het IMF en de ECB, de Europese Centrale Bank……. Staatseigendommen zijn voor 99 jaar uit handen gegeven aan een EU orgaan, het Europees Stabiliteitsmechanisme (ESM) dat naar goeddunken staatseigendommen kan verkopen voor een appel en een ei…….

Just Made IMF History With Biggest Bailout Loan Ever

(ZHE) — Just
a few weeks after Argentina became ground zero for the coming
Emerging Market crisis, when its currency suddenly collapsed at the
end of April amid soaring inflation, exploding capital outflows and a
central bank that was far behind the curve (as in “13% of rate
hikes in a week” behind)…

…
the
IMF has officially bailed
out the country –
again – this time with a $50 billion, 36-month stand-by loan, and
coming in about
$10 billion more than
rumored earlier in the week, it was the largest ever bailout loan in
IMF history,
meant to help restore investor confidence in a nation that, between
its soaring external debt and current account deficit, prompted
JPMorgan to suggest that
along with Turkey, Argentina is in effect, doomed.

As
the JPM chart below shows, the country’s total budget deficit,
which includes interest payments on debt, was 6.5% of GDP last year,
much of reflecting a debt binge of about $100 billion over the last
two and a half years. The primary fiscal deficit in 2017 was 3.9%.

The
loan will have a minimum interest rate of 1.96% rising as high as
4.96%.

“We
are convinced that we’re on the right path, that we’ve avoided a
crisis,” Finance Minister Nicolás Dujovne said at a press
conference in Buenos Aires. “This is aimed at building a normal
economy.”

Dujovne
said that about $15 billion from the credit line would be immediately
available to Argentina after the package is approved by the IMF’s
board, which is expected on June 20. The rest would be dispersed as
needed as Argentina meets its targets.

Shortly
after the news the loan was finalized, Dujovne made some additional,
more bizarre comments, saying that “the amount we received is 11
times Argentina’s quota, which reflects the international
community´s support of Argentina,” almost as if he was proud at
just how insolvent his country “suddenly” become. He was
certainly delighted that, in his view, Argentina is now “too big to
fail”, and received not only this loan as a result…

“It’s
very good news that the integration with the world allows us to
receive this support.”

… but
also hinted that the international community would also foot the bill
for all other upcoming Argentinian bailouts. And if the country’s
history is any indication, there will be plenty more, as well as the
occasional military coup for good measure.

According
to Bloomberg, Argentina will see 30% of the funds a day or two after
the Fund’s June 20 board meeting, and in typical IMF-bailout
fashion, a form of austerity will be imposed on what was once Latin
America’s richest nation: as part of the agreement, the country
will now target a fiscal deficit of 1.3% of GDP in 2019 and 2.7% this
year, with a fiscal balance targeted for 2020 (good luck). And since
the previous targets of 2.2% and 3.2%, were almost as laughable, this
latest IMFian austerity package not only has zero chance of ever
being achieved, but if Greece is any indication, it will make the
Argentina crisis far worse. The government has also set a new
inflation target of 17% in 2019 – It’s considered low –
declining to 13% in 2020 and 9% in 2021.

And
the biggest joke, as part of the program, Argentina will agree to
accelerate the pace at which it reduces the government deficit. The
nation spends more than it collects in revenue and imports more than
it exports, creating fiscal and current-account shortfalls that leave
Argentina vulnerable to fluctuations in its currency. But, thanks to
the even more idiotic policies of central banks, Argentina managed to
sell a 100 year bond last year, demonstrating just how stupid some
managers of “other people’s money” really are.

“This
is a plan owned and designed by the Argentine government, one aimed
at strengthening the economy for the benefit of all Argentines,”
IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde says in the statement which
can be found
on the IMF’s website.

To
take effect, the deal reached between the IMF’s staff and Argentine
authorities still requires the approval of the IMF’s executive
board.

Oh,
and thank you American taxpayers: the IMF’s largest shareholder,
the U.S., said in a statement Thursday from Treasury Secretary Steven
Mnuchin that it supported the program, according
to the WSJ.

“The
size of the package should provide relief, but implementing the
program entails significant challenges and will require skillful
political leadership,” said Martin Castellano, the head of Latin
America research at the Institute of International Finance (IFF).

Argentina
was bailed out by the IMF for the second time in 2 decades after
three rate hikes pushed borrowing costs above 40% but failed to halt
a plunge in the currency. The peso fell 25% against the dollar this
year to trade at 24.9850 on Thursday, while capital outflows soared.

Central
Bank President, Federico Sturzenegger, said the bank will continue to
intervene in currency markets in times of “disruptive movement”
although the central bank will not target inflation this year, he
said. Meanwhile, the government has agreed to send a bill that gives
the central bank more autonomy, and as a result it wil no longer
transfer funds to the Treasury.

“We’re
convinced that we’re on the right track, that we managed to avoid a
crisis, gather support for the program we already had and that has
been in place since Dec. 2015, which looks to build a normal economy,
reduce poverty and protect the vulnerable,” Dujovne said, echoing
what Greece said after its first bailout 8 years… and its second…
and its third.

Gerry
Rice, an IMF spokesman, speaking Thursday before the details of the
bailout were announced, told reporters that the IMF is “not seeing
negative spillovers to other countries at this point.”

Well,
he may want to take a look at Brazil.

IMF
admits mistakes in Argentina crisis

The
International Monetary Fund yesterday admitted that its mistakes
helped plunge Argentina deeper into the red during the currency
crisis that crippled the country’s economy three years ago.

In
a report published yesterday by its independent evaluation office,
the IMF
said it ought to have prevented the Argentine government from
following poor economic policies.

“IMF
surveillance failed to highlight the growing vulnerabilities in the
authorities’ choice of policies and the IMF erred by supporting
inadequate policies too long,” it said.

The
financial meltdown that reached a climax in 2001, causing the country
to default on $132 billion of foreign debt, was worsened by the
government’s vain attempts to maintain the Argentine peso’s peg
against the dollar. The
IMF ploughed money into the country to help it sustain the peg,
pledging an extra $22 billion as late as the end of 2000.

“In
retrospect, the resources used in an attempt to preserve the peg
could have been better used to mitigate some of the inevitable costs
of exit,” the report said.

Although
it became clear to some IMF staff that the country’s currency plan
was flawed in the 1990s, they did not report their doubts to their
board for fear of triggering a speculative attack on the peso. The
executive board, for its part, ignored staff complaints that
Argentina was not reforming its economy satisfactorily.

Both
the IMF and the US touted the country as Latin America’s economic
success story but the fund maintained its support despite the fact
that Argentina missed its fiscal targets every year since 1994.
Analysts have also claimed that the IMF’s demands that Argentina
raise taxes in 2002 worsened the crisis. The conclusions will come as
a blow to the institution, whose role has come under increased
scrutiny in recent years.

Yesterday
the Argentine finance minister, Roberto Lavagna, argued that the
country should not be pressed too hard for repayments of its current
three-year $13 billion loan. He said the IMF was now insisting it
reformed its economy “in a way absent throughout the 90s” and
“under a schedule that is oblivious to the political realities of
the country”.

Good

time try
to prevent Elliott Management from buying up your debt at distressed
prices.

Argentinië: grootscheepse rellen over een grote bezuiniging op de pensioenen >> westerse reguliere media doodstil………

Afgelopen nacht in het BBC World Service radionieuws van 1.00 u. (CET) het bericht dat er gisteren alweer grootscheepse rellen in diverse Argentijnse steden zijn uitgebroken, rellen waaraan tienduizenden mensen deelnamen…….. Dit nadat het Argentijnse congres akkoord ging met het snijden in de pensioenen, waar mensen hun leven lang voor betaald hebben…….

Terwijl de inflatie tot 25% is opgelopen in Argentinië, besloot de ijskoude, inhumane neoliberale regering Macri te snijden in de pensioenen en wel voor een bedrag van 2.8 miljard euro………

De regering Macri heeft eerder al een groot aantal medicijnen uit de sociale zekerheid gehaald (vooral in het nadeel voor ouderen, invaliden, chronisch zieken en uiteraard de grote arme onderlaag in de Argentijnse maatschappij)….. Na deze stap zijn de medicijnen ook nog eens sterk in prijs gestegen, een aantal zelfs tot 200% (!!), zodat de hiervoor genoemde groepen veelal uitgesloten zijn van een aantal belangrijke medicamenten…..

Vorige week donderdag wilde de regering Macri deze korting op de pensioenen in stemming brengen, maar zag daar vanaf nadat grootschalige rellen losbraken in het land….. Gisteren is de politie met groot geweld opgetreden tegen de demonstranten, dit met inzet van traangas (chemisch wapen), waterkanonnen en rubberkogels…….

Er zouden meer politieagenten gewond zijn geraakt dan demonstranten, volgens de overheid 88 agenten en 74 demonstranten, echter volgens actiegroepen ligt het aantal gewonde demonstranten meer dan 150……. (vergeet niet dat veel mensen in paniek zijn gevlucht voor het politiegeweld, waarbij ook nog eens een fiks aantal gewonden zouden zijn gevallen…….)

Opvallend dat de reguliere media in ons land geen en in andere EU landen en de VS amper aandacht hebben besteed en besteden aan de rellen in Argentinië en de oorzaak daarvan…….. Dat de media in ons land geen aandacht aan deze zaak besteden, zal alles te maken hebben met de ‘heilige’ Maxima Zorreguieta, dochter van een fascist en afkomstig uit een welgestelde familie……… Waarbij deze media vooral niet teveel (of liever helemaal geen) negatief nieuws over Argentinië willen brengen, het land waar de arme bevolking keer op keer worden gepakt en de welgestelden alleen maar rijker worden ten koste van de grote onderlaag (waar deze rijke schoften, bijna zonder uitzondering belastingontduikers, hun geld op buitenlandse bankrekeningen hebben staan en hun vuile ziel denken te kunnen reinigen met donaties aan de rk kerk, ofwel hun paus Bergoglio alias Franciscus, de grote vriend van de fascistische ex-dictator Videla….)…..

Belastingontduiking/ontwijking kost de belastingbetalers wereldwijd honderden miljarden op jaarbasis……

Gordon Brown is zonder meer een klootzak, echter n.a.v. de ‘Paradise Papers’ doet hij terecht een oproep aan de G20 eindelijk op te treden tegen belastingontduiking/ontwijking, beide een zware misdaad, waarbij de laatste in ons land is gelegaliseerd middels uiterst kromme wetgeving……

In Nederland wordt naar schattingen jaarlijks 30 miljard aan belastingen ontdoken door grote bedrijven, o.a. via brievenbusconstructies in het buitenland………. Terwijl de laagstbetaalden intussen 37% inkomstenbelasting betalen, aanmerkelijk meer dan bedrijven, deze mensen weten voor een groot deel bij god niet hoe ze rond moeten komen……….

Avaaz heeft de petitie van Brown aan de G20 overgenomen, om zo eindelijk tot een verbod met echte (gevangenis-) straffen te komen en belastingparadijzen te ontmantelen. Lees en teken de petitie ajb en zegt het voort:

vrienden, 

Acht
jaar geleden probeerde ik als premier van het Verenigd Koninkrijk en
voorzitter van de G20 een einde te maken aan belastingparadijzen.
Maar de “Paradise Papers” laten zien dat er nog
steeds miljarden
worden doorgesluisd naar donkere hoeken van de wereldeconomie. 

Het
is een groot onrecht dat de rijksten de dans ontspringen terwijl de
rest betaalt voor gezondheidszorg, onderwijs en bescherming voor de
meest kwetsbare groepen.

hebben nu een uitgelezen kans om daar een einde aan te maken — met
een internationaal akkoord dat belastigparadijzen illegaal maakt, en
boetes en gevangenisstraffen oplegt aan belastingontduikers. De
G20, de leiders van ‘s werelds grootste economieën, kunnen ervoor
zorgen dat dit gebeurt.

Mauricio Macri, de voorzitter van de G20 — zodra
we een miljoen handtekeningen hebben opgehaald zal ik de petitie
persoonlijk aan hem overhandigen.

taak waar we in 2009 aan begonnen af te maken.

president Mauricio Macri en alle leiders van de G20:

De
economische ongelijkheid heeft een ontstellend niveau bereikt — 8
mensen bezitten evenveel vermogen als de helft van de
wereldbevolking.

En deze kloof wordt steeds groter, mede
dankzij de obscure wereld van belastingparadijzen waarin miljarden
aan onze economieën worden onttrokken. De rijken worden rijker en de
rest betaalt de prijs.

Acht jaar geleden sprak de G20 af
een einde te maken aan deze praktijken. Het is tijd om deze afspraak
na te komen. Wij roepen u op om onmiddelijk een einde te maken aan
belastingparadijzen en ervoor te zorgen dat zij die ze mogelijk maken
verantwoordelijk worden gehouden.

Niemand zou mogen
ontkomen aan de plicht om belasting te betalen en bij te dragen aan
het algemeen belang. Het is uw verantwoordelijkheid om daarop toe te
zien. Wij, burgers van over de hele wereld, eisen dat u in actie
komt.

Het is zelfs zo zot, dat grote Griekse bedrijven in Nederland en andere belastingparadijzen de Griekse belasting ontduiken middels brievenbusconstructies, terwijl de Grieken aan de bedelstaf zijn geraakt en de regering van het land in feite is overgenomen door de EU en het IMF. Eén van de hoofdverantwoordelijken, PvdA opperhufter Dijsselbloem, had als minister van Financiën in Rutte 2 geen zin om deze bedrijven aan te pakken, terwijl hij als voorzitter van de Eurogroep het Griekse volk keer op keer schoffeerde…….. Het land is er intussen alleen maar verder op achteruit gegaan, daar het de rentebetalingen en boetes niet eens kan betalen, laat staan dat Griekenland de veel te grote schulden kan inlossen…….. De schulden werden gemaakt door de opvolgende Griekse corrupte regeringen en het ontbreken van toezicht door de centrale banken van de landen die deze regeringen geld op de pof leenden……… Dit terwijl een kind had kunnen weten dat je de Grieken alleen geld kon lenen met uitgebreide voorwaarden en garantstellingen…… In Nederland was CDA kakzever Wellink daarvoor verantwoordelijk als disfunctionerend president van De Nederlandse Bank…… Het is dan ook een gotspe dat de verantwoordelijke banken en andere financiële instellingen (ook die in Nederland), die Griekenland het geld op de pof leverden, schadeloos zijn gesteld met het belastinggeld van de landen waar die banken en instellingen zijn gevestigd!!!

Venezuela ontwricht, wat de reguliere media u niet vertellen……..

Venezuela is zwaar ontwricht, dit zou volgens de reguliere zogenaamd onafhankelijke media de schuld zijn van president Maduro, maar wat u niet zal horen of lezen in dezelfde media, is de echte oorzaak van alle ellende: een smerige economische oorlog van de VS tegen het Maduro bewind in Caracas. Al in 2015 werden winkelketens van VS bedrijven (veelal supermarkten) slecht of niet bevoorraad, een direct gevolg van het agressieve Obama beleid. Deze winkels staan nu al voor meer dan een jaar leeg, waardoor er flinke tekorten zijn……

Uiteraard is het de bedoeling dat hierdoor een opstand uitbreekt, echter daar heeft de VS het geduld niet voor, dus heeft de CIA de oppositie voor haar kar gespannen en samen hebben ze deze opstand op poten gezet (benieuwd wat e.e.a. gekost heeft, voor de opstand met eenzelfde opzet in Oekraïne gaf Hillary Clinton daar maar liefs 4 miljard dollar aan uit….)…

Volgens de reguliere ‘onafhankelijke’ media treedt het Venezolaanse bewind keihard op tegen de demonstranten en zouden er daardoor doden zijn gevallen, echter het omgekeerde is waar, het geweld komt in hoofdzaak van de (veelal ultrarechtse) demonstranten en omgekochte jongeren……….

for the International Left to Take a Stand on Venezuela

Clearing House” –  The mainstream media consistently
fails to report who is instigating the violence in this conflict.

Venezuela
is heading towards an increasingly dangerous situation, in which open
civil war could become a real possibility. So far over 100 people
have been killed as a result of street protests, most of these deaths
are the fault of the protesters themselves (to the extent that we
know the cause).

The
possibility of civil war becomes more likely as long as the
international media obscure who is responsible for the violence and
the international left remains on the sidelines in this conflict and
fails to show solidarity with the Bolivarian socialist movement in
Venezuela.

If
the international left receives its news about Venezuela primarily
from the international media, it is understandable why it is being so
quiet. After all, this mainstream media consistently fails to report
who is instigating the violence in this conflict.

For
example, a follower of CNN or the New York Times would not know that
of the 103 who have been killed as a result of street protests, 27
were the direct or indirect result of the protesters themselves. 

Another 14 were the result of lootings; in one prominent case,
because looters set fire to a store and ended up getting engulfed in
the flames themselves. Fourteen deaths are attributable to the
actions of state authorities (where in almost all cases those
responsible have been charged), and 44 are still under investigation
or in dispute. This is according to data from the office of the
Attorney General, which itself has recently become pro-opposition.

Also
unknown to most consumers of the international media would be that
opposition protesters detonated a bomb in the heart of Caracas on
July 11, wounding seven National Guard soldiers or that a building
belonging to the Supreme Court was burnt by opposition protesters on
June 12th or that opposition protesters attacked a maternity hospital
on May 17. 

In
other words, it is possible that much of the international left has
been misled about the violence in Venezuela; thinking that the
government is the only one responsible, that President Nicolas Maduro
has declared himself to be dictator for life (though he has actually
confirmed that the presidential elections scheduled for late 2018
will proceed as planned), or that all dissent is punishable with
prison (disputed by major opposition leader, Leopoldo Lopez – who
was partly responsible for the post-election violence in 2014 –
recently being released from prison and placed under house arrest).

If
this is the reason for the silence on Venezuela, then the left should
be ashamed for not having read its own critiques of the mainstream
media.

All
of the foregoing does not contradict that there are plenty of places
where one might criticize the Maduro Government for having made
mistakes with regard to how it has handled the current situation,
both economically and politically. However, criticisms – of which I
have made several myself – do not justify taking either a neutral
or pro-opposition stance in this momentous conflict. As South African
anti-apartheid activist Desmond Tutu once said, “If you are neutral
in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the
oppressor.” 

Perhaps
the Venezuelan case is also confusing to outsiders because President
Maduro is in power and the opposition is not. It could thus be
difficult to see the opposition as being an “oppressor.”

However,
for an internationalist left, it should not be so confusing. After
all, the opposition in Venezuela receives significant support not
only from private businesses but also the U.S. Government,
the international right and transnational capital.

Perhaps
progressives feel that the Maduro Government has lost all democratic
legitimacy and that this is why they cannot support it. According to
the mainstream media coverage, Maduro canceled regional elections
scheduled for December 2016, prevented the recall referendum from
happening and neutralized the National Assembly.

Let’s
take a brief look at each of these claims one by one. 

First,
regional elections (state governors and mayors) were indeed supposed
to take place in late 2016, but the National Electoral Council (CNE)
postponed them with the argument that political parties needed to
re-register first. Leaving aside the validity of this argument, the
CNE rescheduled the elections recently for December 2017. This
postponement of a scheduled election is not unprecedented in
Venezuela because it happened before, back in 2004, when local
elections were postponed for a full year. Back then, at the height of
President Hugo Chavez’s power; hardly anyone objected.

As
for the recall referendum, it was well known that it would take
approximately ten months to organize between its initiation and its
culmination. However, the opposition initiated the process in April
2016, far too late for the referendum to take place in 2016 as they
wanted. If it takes place in 2017, there would be no new presidential
election – according to the constitution – and the
vice-president would take over for the remainder of the term.

Finally,
with regard to the disqualification of the National Assembly, this
was another self-inflicted wound on the part of the opposition. That
is, even though the opposition had won 109 out of 167 seats (65%)
outright, they insisted on swearing in three opposition members whose
election was in dispute because of fraud claims.

As
a result, the Supreme Court ruled that until these three members are
removed, most decisions of the national assembly would not be valid.

In
other words, none of the arguments against the democratic legitimacy
of the Maduro Government hold much water. Moreover, polls repeatedly
indicate that even though Maduro is fairly unpopular, a majority of
Venezuelans want him to finish his term in office, which expires in
January 2019. As a matter of fact, Maduro’s popularity (24% in
March, 2017) is not as low as several other conservative presidents
in Latin America at the moment, such as that of Mexico’s Enrique
Pena Nieto (17% in March, 2017), Brazil’s Michel Temer (7% in June,
2017) or Colombia’s Juan Manuel Santos (14% in June, 2017). 

Now
that we have addressed the possible reasons the international left
has been reluctant to show solidarity with the Maduro Government and
the Bolivarian socialist movement, we need to examine what
“neutrality” in this situation would end up meaning – in other
words, what allowing the opposition to come to power via an illegal
and violent transition would mean. 

First
and foremost, their coming to power will almost certainly mean that
all Chavistas – whether they currently support President Maduro or
not – will become targets for persecution. Although it was a long
time ago, many Chavistas have not forgotten the “Caracazo” –
when in February 1989, then-president Carlos Andres Perez meted out
retaliation on poor neighborhoods for protesting against his
government and wantonly killed somewhere between 400 and 1,000
people. More recently, during a short-lived coup against President
Chávez in April 2002 the current opposition showed it was more than
willing to unleash reprisals against Chavistas.

Most
do not know this, but during the two-day coup over 60 Chavistas were
killed in Venezuela – not including the 19 killed, on both sides of
the political divide, in the lead-up to the coup. The post-election
violence of April 2013 left 7 dead, and the Guarimbas of February to
April 2014 left 43 dead. Although the death count in each of these
cases represented a mix of opposition supporters, Chavistas and
non-involved bystanders; the majority belonged to the Chavista side
of the political divide.

Now,
during the most recent wave of guarimbas, there have also been
several incidents in which a Chavista, who was near an opposition
protest, was chased and killed because protesters recognized them to
be a Chavista in some way. 

In
other words, the danger that Chavistas will be generally persecuted
if the opposition should take over the government is very real. Even
though the opposition includes reasonable individuals who would not
support such a persecution, the current leadership of the opposition
has done nothing to rein in the fascist tendencies within its own
ranks. If anything, they have encouraged these tendencies.

Second,
even though the opposition has not published a concrete plan for what
it intends to do once in government – which is also one of the
reasons the opposition remains almost as unpopular as the government
– individual statements by opposition leaders indicate that they
would immediately proceed to implement a neoliberal economic program
along the lines of President Michel Temer in Brazil or Mauricio Macri
in Argentina. They might succeed in reducing inflation and shortages
this way, but at the expense of eliminating subsidies and social
programs for the poor across the board. Also, they would roll back
all of the policies supporting communal councils and communes that
have been a cornerstone of participatory democracy in the Bolivarian
revolution.

So,
instead of silence, neutrality or indecision from the
international left in the current conflict in Venezuela, what is
needed is active solidarity with the Bolivarian socialist movement.
Such solidarity means vehemently opposing all efforts to overthrow
the government of President Maduro during his current term in office.
Aside from the patent illegality that overthrowing the Maduro
Government would represent, it would also literally be a deadly blow
to Venezuela’s socialist movement and to the legacy of President
Chavez. The international left does not even need to take a position
on whether the proposed constitutional assembly or negotiations with
the opposition is the best way to resolve the current crisis. 


That is
really up to Venezuelans to decide. Opposing intervention and
disseminating information on what is actually happening in Venezuela,
though, are the two things where non-Venezuelans can play a
constructive role.

Argentinië: protesten bij politiek proces tegen welzijnsactivist……

Mensen het is weer bal in Argentinië, u weet wel, het land waar uw pampa koningin Maxima opgroeide als dochter van de destijds hoge ambtenaar en fascist Zorreguieta. Dezelfde Zorreguieta die mede verantwoordelijk was voor de verdwijningen van linkse intellectuelen en vakbondsleiders/leden onder de dictatuur van de fascistische moordenaar, verkrachter, martelbeul en ontvoerder Videla. Hetzelfde Argentinië, waar paus Bergoglio alias Franciscus vandaan komt, hij was overigens een goede vriend van Videla……

Sinds 2015 is de rechtse hufter Macri president van Argentinië en hij laat er geen twijfel over bestaan: alles wat naar links ruikt moet aangepakt…… Het grote arme deel van de bevolking heeft niets te verwachten van deze neoliberale hufter.

Afgelopen nacht het bericht op BBC World Service (radionieuws van 1.00 u.), dat Milagro Sala, leider van de sociale welzijnsorganisatie Tupac Amaru, terecht staat. Zij werd gearresteerd nadat zij in januari dit jaar, commentaar had geleverd op het uitkleden van sociale projecten in de provincie Jujuy, door gouverneur Gerardo Morales, een partijgenoot en vriend van Macri……..

Sala werd op belachelijke gronden aangeklaagd voor ‘corruptie’, corruptie die juist tot volle bloei komt onder de verantwoording van de regering Macri……. Naast mensenrechtenorganisaties, heeft zelfs de VN inmiddels de vrijlating van Sala geeist, tot nu toe alles tevergeefs………

BBC berichtte over rellen buiten het gerechtsgebouw, waar Sala terecht staat.

Tempers
flare outside court over detained Argentine social leader

BUENOS
AIRES (Reuters) – Protesters and police clashed on Wednesday
outside a courthouse in northern Argentina where a social activist is
on trial for offences including corruption, while her lawyers asked
the Supreme Court to free her on human rights grounds.

Fists
flew as supporters of Milagro Sala, leader of the Tupac Amaru social
welfare group in Jujuy province, tried to push past police who used
choke holds to keep the crowd at bay.

It
was part of a series of hearings on charges ranging from intimidation
to corruption. She has denied the allegations and said she is a
victim of political persecution.

Sala’s
lawyers asked the Supreme Court in Buenos Aires to free her based on
recommendations from United Nations and Organization of American
States human rights committees that said she has been arbitrarily
detained for nearly a year.

The
case, and the international attention it has gathered, has been a
headache for President Mauricio Macri as he tries to improve
Argentina’s image and attract foreign investment needed to help pull
the country out of recession.

Sala,
whose organization is allied with Macri’s predecessor and political
foe Cristina Fernandez, has long been accused by opponents of
skimming public housing monies that she had received in cash under
the previous Jujuy governor.

Soon
after Macri ally Gerardo Morales became governor a year ago, he
changed Jujuy’s welfare distribution system to tighten controls. Sala
was protesting the change in January when she was arrested by
provincial authorities and charged with sedition.

Rights
groups branded this a violation of free speech and the sedition
charge was quickly replaced by accusations of corruption. But Sala’s
allies said the switch looked like a manoeuvre aimed simply at
keeping her behind bars.

“Like
everyone else, Milagro Sala should be prosecuted if she has committed
serious crimes, but the Jujuy justice system must ensure that her
basic due process guarantees are respected,” Jose Miguel
Vivanco, Americas director of Human Rights Watch, told Reuters.

Early
this month, the Inter-American Commision on Human Rights called on
Argentina to release Sala. The commission, part of the OAS, said
Argentina should “give prompt attention” to recommendations
from a U.N. body in October that called Sala’s pre-trial detention
“unwarranted and arbitrary.”

The
case threatens to dent Macri’s authority as one of the region’s chief
critics of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, whom he accuses of
holding political prisoners.

Macri’s
government has said the Sala case is a local one to be resolved in
Jujuy. But if the Supreme Court rules that Sala’s initial detention
was unlawful, it could turn up the pressure on Macri to find a
solution.

Eduardo
Tavani, coordinator of Sala’s legal committee told Reuters in a
telephone interview that “the court will have to make a ruling
on the arbitrary nature of Milagro’s detention.”

Leftist
activists stopped rush hour traffic on Buenos Aires’ main avenue
Nueve de Julio in a protest supporting Sala late Wednesday afternoon.

Macri
fanned the controversy early this month when he said “the
majority of Argentines” believe Sala should be tried for “a
number of important crimes” but the president did not provide
evidence for his assertions.

“Macri
says Milagro is in jail because most people think she should be,”
said Hector Recalde, a congressman from Fernandez’s Victory Front
party. “That’s about the same as a lynching.”

De fascistenvriend en rechtse president Macri, trekt met zijn regering het vel over de oren van de gewone Argentijnse bevolking, die te maken kregen met verhogingen op bijvoorbeeld de energie- en waterrekening tot 300%!! Dezelfde Macri heeft zelf via schimmige constructies miljoenen weggezet in Panama, zo werd duidelijk uit de ‘Panama Papers……..’

De partij van Macri, ‘Republican Proposal’, of ‘PRO’ (niet van ‘proposal’, maar van een Spaanse verkorting), is een ‘centrumrechtse partij’, nou zeg maar uiterst rechtse neoliberale partij met fascistische banden en die derhalve lak heeft aan de processen tegen de moordenaars van Videla…….. De familie Zorreguieta zal wel blij zijn met deze fascistenvriend, zo kan de moordenaar Zorreguieta, de vader van uw ‘koningin’ (ha! ha! ha!), vrijuit gaan………..

Je snapt niet waar dit soort geteisem het lef vandaan haalt, om in het eigen land de belasting te ontduiken en dan om de staatskas te spekken (de kas waarin door dit geteisem veel te weinig belasting belandt), het volk ongehoorde prijsverhogingen oplegt………..
