Jason Ditz is een journalist die over het algemeen goed geïnformeerd is, daar kwam gisteren verandering in toen ik een artikel van hem las op ANTIWAR.
Het begint al met de kop: ‘Over 9,000 Civilians Killed in Battle of Mosul’, terwijl dit aantal al werd genoemd toen de strijd nog volop bezig was……. Let wel het gaat hier om het aantal mensen dat werd vermoord bij de bevrijding van het Iraakse West-Mosul, terwijl bij de bevrijding van het andere deel van Mosul al een paar duizend burgers werden vermoord (en ja, inclusief kinderen, zoals later in het oosten van de stad…)…… In totaal (dus bij de bevrijding van heel Mosul) moet het om minstens 15.000 vermoorde burgers gaan……. Vergeet hierbij niet, dat na ‘de bevrijding’ nog een groot aantal burgers is vermoord (standrechtelijk geëxecuteerd), daar ze verdacht werden van samenwerken met IS, deze mensen zijn niet eens meegenomen in de cijfers…….
Ditz citeert Associated Press (AP) en dat zal wel de makke zijn….. Vandaar ook de verdere melding dat één derde van de slachtoffers te danken is aan de VS, echter als je ziet hoe vaak de VS luchtmacht de dichtbevolkte en dichtbebouwde oude stad van West-Mosul heeft gebombardeerd*, kan het niet anders dan dat het overgrote deel van de slachtoffers is gevallen door ‘roekeloze’ VS bombardementen…. (uiteraard is het gros van de bombardementen roekeloos en is elk bombardement op burgerdoelen een oorlogsmisdaad volgens het Verdrag van Genève…)
Ongelofelijk te lezen dat een VS kolonel, een psychopaat met de naam Thomas Veile, het gore lef had te zeggen dat de vele door de VS gemaakte doden (immers ook 3.000 van de ‘9.000 doden’ is een enorm aantal) het offer waard waren, daar men anders in West-Mosul nog onder IS hadden geleefd en dat ze daar nog decennia langer hadden moeten lijden (onder het juk van IS)………..
Ten eerste is IS een product van o.a. de VS en ten tweede: als de VS bijtijds was gestopt met bombarderen, was er een fiks aantal mensen minder vermoord…… Daarbij hebben de VS en het Iraakse leger grote groepen strijders van IS een vrijgeleide gegeven richting Raqqa, waar ze geacht werden ‘Assad te verslaan…..’ (overigens heeft de VS dezelfde ‘bombardement-tactiek’ later toegepast op de Syrische stad Raqqa…)
Na ‘de bevrijding’ van West-Mosul’ heeft het Iraakse leger in grote haast hele huizenblokken, die in puin lagen, gebulldozerd zonder eerst de lijken eruit te halen, één van de manieren om tot een zo laag mogelijk aantal vermoorde burgers te komen, ook dat had Ditz moeten weten……..
The
Iraqi government claimed only 1,260 civilians killed in the entire
battle, while the US-led coalition put the figure at 326. The
coalition slammed the new figure, despite strong evidence behind it,
including names of people from the morgue, saying it was
“irresponsible” to focus on the deaths.
Col.
Thomas Veale said if anything, the thousands killed saved lives in
the long run because if the US hadn’t killed all those people, the
terrorists would’ve won and produced “decades of suffering.”
* De VS bleef bombarderen tot vlak voor de uiteindelijke bevrijding van West-Mosul (en later Raqqa), zwaar tegen de zin van een groot deel van de VN, die ‘het land tevergeefs opriep te stoppen met bombarderen en zoals uitgesproken door een aantal afzonderlijke landen….. Rusland wordt het begaan van oorlogsmisdaden verweten in Syrië, echter bij de bevrijding van Oost-Aleppo stopten Rusland en het reguliere Syrische leger al 2 maanden voor de bevrijding met bombarderen, juist om burgerslachtoffers te voorkomen…… Dit feit werd niet gemeld door de reguliere westerse (massa-) media, dezelfde reguliere westerse media die volkomen onterecht moord en brand schreeuwden bij die bevrijding van Oost-Aleppo en daarbij Assad en de Russen oorlogsmisdaden in de schoenen schoven……. Later verzwegen die media het enorme aantal vermoorden (massamoord) dat in het Iraakse (West-) Mosul ten slachtoffer viel aan de VS oorlogsmachine (‘zeg maar’ terreurmachine), iets dat (alweer) werd herhaald bij de VS bombardementen op Raqqa……..
De laatste tijd zijn er een meerdere berichten gepubliceerd, waarin bewijzen worden gegeven voor VS (CIA) leveringen van wapens en raketten aan IS. Oké, dit is al veel langer bekend, maar het kan geen kwaad een paar van deze berichten te publiceren, zeker daar de reguliere westerse (massa-) media deze berichten niet brengen, of deze berichten worden hooguit door één of twee reguliere mediaorganen gepubliceerd (dat laatste geldt niet voor de twee hieronder opgenomen artikelen)
Het eerste artikel hieronder komt van Middle East Eye (MEE) dat ik vond via Anti-Media, het betreft hier VS wapenleveringen aan ‘gematigde rebellen’ (psychopathische moordenaars, verkrachters en martelbeulen) in Syrië, wapens en munitie die echter voor een groot deel belanden bij hun collega’s van IS……
Jammer dat de schrijver van dit artikel niet ook heeft gekeken naar het feit, dat de CIA grote hoeveelheden ‘Russische wapens’ kocht in Oost-Europa en deze wapens aan terreurgroepen leverde in Syrië (iets dat o.a. in het daarna volgende artikel wordt beschreven). Al is het ongetwijfeld zo dat IS ook grote hoeveelheden wapens heeft buitgemaakt, o.a. op het reguliere Syrische leger.
Het artikel daaronder komt oorspronkelijk van BuzzFeed News en werd door mij overgenomen via Information Clearing House (ICH). In dit artikel het verhaal hoe o.a. raketten via Oost-Europese EU landen in handen komen van (o.a.) IS. Onder het laatste bericht 2 video’s, waarvan de tekst bij de laatste video verwijst naar drie berichten, de eerste is overigens het eerste artikel van MEE direct hieronder. Voor een reportage over deze zaak werd een Bulgaarse journalist ontslagen, zonder dat de EU er ook maar één woord aan vuil maakte……. ‘Leve’ de nieuwe fascistische wereldorde in wording…….
Jammer ook dat men niet rept over de minstens 2 wapenleveringen van de VS direct aan IS, leveringen gedaan in Irak…..
Met deze artikelen wordt eens te meer duidelijk gemaakt dat het eerste doel van de VS in Syrië, niet IS was en is, maar de democratisch gekozen regering Assad (in door internationale waarnemers als eerlijk beoordeelde verkiezingen!). De VS stond dan ook samen met Saoedi-Arabië en Israël aan de wieg van IS en andere terreurgroepen….. De VS was al vanaf 2006 bezig de omverwerping van het Assad regime voor te bereiden. Voorts hebben Saoedi-Arabië en de VS terroristen van o.a. IS overgebracht naar Irak en Syrië, waar deze landen ook nog eens verantwoordelijk zijn voor de financiering (m.n. S-A) en de militaire training van de psychopathische moordenaars………

Weapons
provided by the US to Syrian rebel factions ended up in the hands of
the Islamic State (IS) group, a new report has revealed.
According
to Conflict Armament Research (CAR), an organisation that tracks arm
shipments, military equipment including anti-tank weapons that were
secretly transferred by CIA to rebels fighting Bashar al-Assad were
in IS possession within two months of leaving the factory.
The
study, which was funded by the European Union and Germany, examined
40,000 weapons and equipment recovered from IS in the last three
years, as the group’s “caliphate” continues to shrink in
the face of losses in Raqqa and Mosul.
It
concluded that projects to provide weapons to rebel groups had
“significantly augmented the quantity and quality of weapons
available to (Islamic State) forces.”
“Supplies
of materiel into the Syrian conflict from foreign parties – notably
the United States and Saudi Arabia – have indirectly allowed IS to
obtain substantial quantities of anti-armour ammunition,” read
the report. “These weapons include ATGWs and several varieties
of rocket with tandem warheads, which are designed to defeat modern
reactive armour. – Conflict

“These
systems continue to pose a significant threat to the coalition of
troops arrayed against IS forces.”
It
added that it could not confirm whether the weapons had ended up with
IS as a result of them being sold or because they had been seized.
US
weaponry has been used by IS since at least 2014 when the group swept
across Iraq and seized larges swathes of territory.
As
the US-trained Iraqi army collapsed in their wake, much of their
equipment was appropriated.
The
covert programme to funnel weaponry and equipment to rebels fighting
the Assad government began under Barack Obama in 2013, but was ended
in July by Donald Trump.
Attempts
to train rebel fighters across the border in Turkey also saw weaponry
end up in the hands of militant groups – the CIA-trained
Division 30, a group of roughly 70 fighters sent into northern Syria
to fight IS, were attacked by
the al-Qaeda-linked al-Nusra Front who captured their weapons.
The
report also added that more than 50 percent of the weaponry used by
IS was manufactured by China and Russia, largely from equipment
captured from the government of Iraq and Syria.
“China
produced the majority of the materiel (weapons and ammunition
combined) fielded by the group in both countries,” said the
report. “However, Russian-manufactured weapons outnumber Chinese
weapons deployed by IS forces in Syria – presumably reflecting
Russian supplies to the Syrian regime.
“These
findings support widespread assumptions that the group initially
captured much of its military materiel from Iraqi and Syrian
government forces.”
More
than 340,000 people have been killed in Syria since the conflict
broke out in March 2011 with protests against Assad’s rule that
sparked a brutal crackdown.

Blowback: ISIS Got A Powerful Missile The CIA Secretly Bought In Bulgaria
A new report on how ISIS built its arsenal highlights how the US purchased munitions, intended for Syrian rebels, that ended up in the hands of the terrorist group.

December 14, 2017 “Information Clearing House” – A guided anti-tank missile ended up in the hands of ISIS terrorists less than two months after the US government purchased it in late 2015 — highlighting weaknesses in the oversight and regulation of America’s covert arms programs, according to information published Thursday by an arms monitoring group called Conflict Armament Research (CAR).
Though the report says the missile was purchased by the US Army using a contractor, BuzzFeed News has learned that the real customer appears to have been the CIA. It was part of the spy agency’s top secret operation to arm rebels in Syria to fight the forces of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. The missile ended up in the hands of ISIS fighters in Iraq, according to the report.
The CIA declined to comment on the Obama-era program to back Syrian rebels, which was canceled by President Trump in July. The Pentagon did not provide information in time for publication.
The missile is one piece of a critical puzzle that is being solved only now, with ISIS on the run: How did the vast terror group arm its war machine? CAR spent three years tracking ISIS weapons as they were recovered by Iraqi, Syrian, and Kurdish forces — and found that what happened to the missile was no aberration. Indeed, the terror group managed to divert “substantial quantities of anti-armour ammunition” from weapons provided to Syrian opposition forces by the US or Saudi Arabia.
The anti-tank missile recovered from ISIS in February 2016. It had been shipped to the US Army in December 2015.
The investigators from CAR found that the policy has sometimes backfired, allowing America’s enemies to obtain arms meant for its allies. “Evidence collected by CAR indicates that the United States has repeatedly diverted EU-manufactured weapons and ammunition to opposition forces in the Syrian conflict,” the report states. ISIS, it continues, “rapidly gained custody of significant quantities of this materiel.”
The report lists 12 cases where Eastern European weapons originally sent to the US military or US contractors appear to have been diverted, somehow, to ISIS.
The weapon purchased by the US government in 2015, a 9M111B missile, is highly portable and can land a devastating charge with pinpoint accuracy on tanks, trucks, or buildings.
BuzzFeed News has been tracking the CIA’s procurement of 9M111 missiles as part of the deal for three years. In 2014, the CIA issued a contract to obtain 600 such missiles to Kiesler Police Supply, two sources said. Kiesler is a small Indiana company that frequently contracts with the CIA, according to experts in arms dealing. According to the CAR report, the contract for the missile that ended up in the possession of ISIS was handled by Kiesler.

The Indiana firm acquired those missiles from a Bulgarian company called SAGE Consulting, sources familiar with the transaction told BuzzFeed News. Bulgaria is a major source of the weapons that the US and other powers use to arm client armies.
In an email this summer, Kiesler declined to discuss the issue, writing that “we are not contractually authorized to disclose any information.” The company also insisted it was not to blame for where the weapons ended up. “Once Kiesler delivers its products to the customer, it does not have visibility with respect to the Government’s handling, use or disposition of the material,” it said.
On Wednesday, a woman who answered the phone at Kiesler hung up immediately. Then, after she was called again, she said that “we don’t talk to the media.”
SAGE, a well-known broker in the Bulgarian capital Sofia, declined a request for interviews with BuzzFeed News. But two Bulgarian arms dealers say SAGE has indeed been manufacturing the 9M111 missile, at a factory called VMZ, for the US government. “They make them only for the Americans,” one said, adding that the US buys as many as SAGE can manufacture.
Two sources familiar with the Syrian opposition told BuzzFeed News in 2015 that the CIA had begun to set up and train small tank-killing units of rebels. Each of these small units was planned as a force multiplier, which could enter a battle and effectively knock out Syrian armored positions, leveling the battlefield for the rebels.
In its report, CAR says the missile was originally purchased in Bulgaria by the US on Dec. 15, 2015. Just 59 days later, it was recovered in Ramadi, Iraq, after it had been fired by ISIS in combat.
In its report, CAR said a photo showed a US-backed Syrian rebel group, Jaysh al-Nasr, firing a missile that is identical to the one recovered from ISIS in Ramadi. The serial numbers on the ISIS missile and on one fired by Jaysh al-Nasr suggest that the two missiles were “part of the same supply chain,” according to CAR’s report.
A source close to the Syrian opposition said Jaysh al-Nasr fights chiefly in the north of Hama province, and was indeed aided by the CIA in Turkey. Two sources said the group received anti-tank missiles from the CIA.
It’s unclear how a missile provided to Jaysh al-Nasr in Syria would have ended up across the Iraqi border in ISIS hands.
A former Syrian opposition figure said rebels were vetted to the best of the CIA’s ability. The rebels, he said, were cautioned that every time they fired a weapon, they had to bring back the empty casings to prove they had in fact fired it rather than stolen or traded it.

Bij de bloedige ‘bevrijding’ van West-Mosul, werden meer dan 40.000 inwoners vermoord, vooral middels bombardementen van de VS (dat was al overigens al het geval voor de uiteindelijke ‘bevrijding’ het geval…)…
Ondanks oproepen aan de VS van onder meer de VN te stoppen met bombardementen op het Iraakse West-Mosul, daar in de oude stad de huizen zo dicht op elkaar staan en waardoor de burgers in levensgevaar werden gebracht, ging de VS ‘gewoon’ door met de bombardementen…….. Vergelijk dat eens met de bevrijding van het Syrische Oost-Aleppo, waar het reguliere Syrische leger en de Russen al 2 maanden voor de uiteindelijke bevrijding besloten te stoppen met bombardementen, dit juist om burgerslachtoffers zoveel mogelijk te voorkomen……..
Gezien dat laatste moeten er dan ook in de paar maanden voor de bevrijding van West-Mosul een enorm aantal burgers zijn vermoord…… Om negatief nieuws met een enorm aantal vermoorde burgers te voorkomen, heeft het Iraakse leger na de ‘bevrijding’ hele huizenblokken gebulldozerd en daarmee de lijken die zich daar nog in bevonden, begraven onder het puin……. Overigens is het bombarderen van huizenblokken al een enorme oorlogsmisdaad, vastgelegd in het Verdrag van Genève……
De westerse massamedia en de meeste westerse politici houden desondanks vol, dat Syrië en Rusland enorme oorlogsmisdaden begingen in Oost-Aleppo, ook al was en is daarvoor geen flinter echt bewijs……. Waar diezelfde media en politici liever niet lullen over de enorme oorlogsmisdaden begaan door de Iraakse coalitie (o.l.v. de VS) in steden als Mosul………
Na de bevrijding van West-Mosul beging de Iraakse-coalitie tegen IS, de ene oorlogsmisdaad na de andere. Mannen en jongens van boven de 14 jaar werden gescheiden van de vrouwen gevangen gezet, waar velen van hen werden gemarteld en/of vermoord, ook al had men geen juridisch bewijs voor deelname aan terreurgroep IS……. Een wond was genoeg om de psychopaten te overtuigen dat men met IS leden te maken had, wat vrijwel altijd een zekere dood betekende voor deze verdachten, een aantal van hen werd zelfs van gebouwen gegooid……. Dit alles onder goedkeuring en toezicht van de VS……
Soldaten kregen van officieren het advies IS-verdachten te vermoorden: als men ‘overtuigd was’ met een IS strijder te maken te hebben……. Na de ‘bevrijding’ van West-Mosul zijn er naar schatting 10.000 mannen en jongens vermoord door het Iraakse leger……..

of Killing’: US-Backed ‘Liberation’ of Mosul Left 10,000
Civilians Dead
(ANTIMEDIA)—After
the United States and its proxy armies “liberated” the Iraqi city
of Mosul earlier this year, the world’s superpower
unsurprisinglyturneda
blind eye to a massacre that took place soon after. As
the Guardianaptly
phrased it, the aftermath was an “orgy” of killing.
The Guardian explains
that it was the brutal conduct of the Iraqi Armed Forces that enabled
Iraq to successfully liberate Mosul from ISIS’ dominance, stating:
“One
of the factors that had aided Isis’s takeover of Mosul was the
conduct of the Iraqi army and security forces stationed in the city,
who behaved like sectarian occupation forces, mistreating and
detaining the population at will. In the early stages of the battle
for Mosul, the Iraqi army and police, keen to change their prevailing
image, had taken care to preserve the lives of civilians. Soldiers
and officers used their vehicles to help people evacuate their homes,
and offered water and medical help. But the Old City was seen as the
last refuge of Isis, and almost every inhabitant was treated as a
suspect. Fighting-age men from other parts of the city, and those
with injuries, were detained on the spot. The rest were sent to
detention centres, where their identity would be checked.”
According to
the non-partisan monitoring group Airwars, the civilian death toll in
Mosul may have exceeded 10,000. Those who were fortunate enough to
survive coalition bombings were apparently treated as suspected ISIS
members, and the result was a host of crimes that should make The
Hague cringe.
The Guardian explains:
“Locals,
keen to exact revenge on those they held responsible for the miseries
and destruction of the last three years, started denouncing not only
members of Isis and their families who had tried to blend in with
fleeing civilians, but also any man of fighting
age who came from a different city, bore the marks of injury, or
simply looked suspicious.” [emphasis
added]
Kate
Allen, the director of Amnesty International, has already called for
an independent
inquiry into
these crimes. Allen stated:
“Deliberately
killing fighters who have surrendered or who have been captured is
absolutely prohibited under international law. Needless to say,
killing civilians in these circumstances is also utterly unlawful –
a war crime.”
The
Iraqi military’s behavior during and after this liberation campaign
is no secret to the U.S. or the mainstream media. Iraqi soldiers were
allegedly throwing
captured ISIS
fighters off buildings as far back as July of this year.
The Guardian also
details one example of a suspected ISIS operative who vehemently
claimed he was a medic, only to be beaten, thrown out of a window,
and gunned down on the street below. As one Iraqi military officer
explained:
“He
is my fifth [killing] since the start of [the battle of] Mosul…
Al-Qaida have one good principle: if they suspect someone, or have
the tiniest evidence against him, they execute him. They say that if
he was guilty, he deserved it, and if he was innocent, his blood will
be purged and later he will go to heaven. I follow the same
principle.”
Never
mind that thousands
of civilians died
in the aerial campaign during the first few months of Trump’s
presidency. Once the city was formally liberated,
the Guardian explains,
the real “orgy” of killing began:
“Night
after night, in ruined houses, makeshift cells and the dark streets
of Mosul, those identified as members of Isis were tortured and
executed. Jubilant Iraqi soldiers filmed themselves beating and
shooting prisoners.”
The
United States has barely given this issue a passing mention, even as
it attempts to denigrate Syria for allegedly doing the same thing.
One thing is certain, however — the United States has brought chaos
to Iraq and the large city of Mosul, and liberation may, in fact, be
the wrong word to describe the results.

“‘Sometimes
we do things and we know we are breaking the law,’ the commander
told me one afternoon as he sat sipping his tea. He lit a cigarette
and continued: ‘My general tells me: ‘Don’t bring me any
prisoners – if you know they are Daesh, then deal with them from
your end.’ My soldiers call me and say: ‘We have found a man’,
and I tell them: ‘Kill him.’”
Het volgende artikel waarin video’s met de Vlaamse pater Daniel Maes, nam ik over van Stan van Houcke, die het op zijn beurt overnam van ‘De Stille Waarheid’.
De pater vertelt onder meer over zijn verbazing nadat hij zich in 2010 in Syrië had gevestigd, verbazing bijvoorbeeld over de vele zaken die gratis waren, zoals scholing en gezondheidszorg.
De pater roept de kijkers op niet langer de westerse oorlogspropaganda (ofwel nepnieuws van de reguliere massamedia en de enorme leugens van de meeste westerse politici) tegen Syrië te geloven………
Genoeg gezegd: bekijk de 3 video’s en zegt het voort!

een exclusief interview hebben wij gesproken met de Vlaamse pater
Daniel Maes. Hij woont sinds 2010 in Syrië, in het zesde-eeuwse Mar
Yakub klooster in het stadje Qara, ten noorden van de hoofdstad
Damascus. Hij is een getuige van de oorlog in Syrië die hij van
dichtbij heeft meegemaakt. Zijn visie op het conflict staat haaks op

Bij het
volgende bericht moet nog aangetekend worden, dat Groot-Brittannie
alleen met haar drones al 1.000 doden heeft gemaakt, althans dat was
de stand van zaken 7 maanden geleden………
In dit bericht van Middle East Eye (MEE) stelt Groot-Brittannië dat het weliswaar veel bommen heeft afgeworpen op Irak en Syrië, in totaal 3.400 (!!!), maar dat daar geen enkel burgerslachtoffer mee werd vermoord……. ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Mijn excuus beste bezoeker, maar om dergelijk goor lef kan ik niet anders dan lachen, ook al leent het onderwerp zich daar niet voor.
Uiteraard heeft GB daarbij een groot aantal burgers vermoord. Overigens volgt Nederland de GB-tactiek op een ander emanier, wij melden niet eens dat er burgerslachtoffers zijn gevallen bij bombardementen, noch doet ‘Defensie’ (het ministerie van Oorlog) daar onderzoek naar……..
Airwars berekende dat er in totaal sinds 2014 maar liefst 5.600 burgers zijn vermoord door VS/Britse bombardementen en raketaanvallen op Syrië en Irak. De Britten alleen deden al 1.600 luchtaanvallen uit…… Dat aantal slachtoffers lijkt me overigens een te laag aantal, gezien feiten als het bulldozeren van grote delen van West-Mosul, na de ‘bevrijding’ van terreurgroep IS, waar men de vermoorde burgerslachtoffers niet eerst onder het puin vandaan haalde……….
De VS weigerde zelfs te stoppen met bombarderen, zoals de VS deed bij de bevrijding van Raqqa….. Een vreselijke oorlogsmisdaad daar men wist dat er tienduizenden mensen opgesloten zaten……………

Britain
Drops More Than 3,400 Bombs in Syria and Iraq, Claims No Civilians
Died
(MEE) — Royal
Air Force drones and jets have dropped more than 3,400 bombs and
missiles on Islamic State fighters in Iraq and Syria, an
investigation by Middle East Eye has revealed, yet the British
government maintains that there is “no evidence” they have killed
a single civilian.
The
vast quantities of ordnance dropped since the start of Operation
Shader against IS in 2014 seriously undermines the claim by ministers
that the RAF has not caused any civilian casualties in the
three-year-long bombing campaign, and has prompted calls for an
investigation.
The
Ministry of Defence (MoD) does not routinely release statistics on the
numbers of weapons used over Iraq and Syria, but an MEE analysis has
combined weekly updates of operations in the region and information
collated by campaign group Drone Wars.

It
shows that up to the end of September UK forces have dropped at least
3,482 bombs and missiles in the battle against IS, including 2,089
Paveway IV bombs and 486 Brimstone missiles dropped by Typhoon and
Tornado jets.
RAF
Reaper drones have also fired 724 Hellfire missiles at IS targets.
The
figures are conservative as MoD updates sometimes do not specify the
number of bombs or missiles used in a strike, and last night MoD
officials admitted that a further 86 bombs and missiles had been
dropped in recent weeks.
The
weapon of choice for RAF jets is the Paveway IV precision-guided
bomb, but they have also fired large numbers of the more accurate
Brimstone missile, which was originally designed as an anti-tank
weapon but has been used extensively by the RAF to target IS snipers
and vehicles.
The government describes
the Brimstone as the most accurate weapon available that can be fired
by aircraft, and they are conservatively estimated to cost £100,000
each; heavier Paveway IV bombs are estimated to cost £30,000 each,
and Hellfire, fired by the Reaper drone fleet, cost £71,300 each.
Islamic State is in
retreat in Iraq and Syria after a US-led bombing campaign which saw
the RAF fly more than 8,000 sorties and killed more than 3,000 IS
militants. A spike in weapons releases came earlier this summer,
when RAF Typhoons and Tornadoes joined the coalition and Kurdish
effort to liberate Mosul.
Islamic State regularly
used “human shields” in built-up areas, but despite this and the
scale of the ordnance dropped by the RAF, the MoD maintains it has
“no evidence” that its strikes have caused any civilian
casualties – a position now roundly rejected by defence analysts
and opposition parties.
“Our armed forces are
among the best in the world, so they will be among the most
discerning and accurate when it comes to targeting,” Liberal
Democrat leader Vince Cable, told MEE.
“However, it is, at the
very best, implausible that our heavy involvement could not have
caused civilian deaths. We must not knock our armed services, but,
equally, the government has to be honest in its assessment of damage
caused in conflict.”
The US Air Force, which
leads the anti-Islamic State coalition, says it has caused 786
civilians deaths in
the three-year-long air war, but despite saying the air war is the
“most challenging fight in decades”, the RAF has made so such
assessment.
Earlier this month the
minister of state for the British armed forces, Mark
Lancaster, told
parliament that the government “had been able to discount RAF
involvement in any civilian casualties”.
The RAF says it takes all
steps to minimise civilian casualties, but it has conducted more than
1,600 strikes in Iraq and Syria – more than any other coalition
country bar the US.
Reacting to the figures,
military aviation experts and campaigners have said that it is no
longer credible for the MoD to maintain that has not killed any
civilians as part of the three-year-long operation to defeat Islamic
State.
Samuel Oakford, a
spokesperson for Airwars, a group which monitors civilian casualties
from international air strikes in the region, told MEE: “The UK’s
claim that no British air strikes in Iraq or Syria have led to
civilian deaths has always been difficult to believe.
“Based on the
coalition’s own civilian casualty reporting, it is extremely
unlikely that a coalition member as active as the UK would have not
had a hand in a single civilian death.
“As the campaign
continues into its fourth year and more data about British
involvement such as this is compiled, the MoD’s claim is becoming
increasingly absurd.”
Over the course of the
last 12 months the focus of the air battle against IS, which the MoD
calls Daesh, has shifted from the Iraqi city of Mosul, which fell in
July, to Raqqa in Syria.
But MEE analysis shows
that the overwhelming majority of RAF weapons released took place
against IS fighters in Iraq with 3,000 strikes, while a total of 482
bombs and missiles were dropped over Syria, prompting fears of
blowback in the UK.
“Turning a blind eye to
the consequences of air strikes and pretending they are somehow now
‘risk free’ is naive in the extreme,” said Chris Cole, director
of campaign Drone Wars UK.
“Unless we begin to
understand and acknowledge the true cost of our ongoing wars in the
Middle East, we are likely to pay a high price in the future.”
Zero
casualties
Airwars, which works with
the RAF and US Air Force to report suspected civilian casualties,
says that at least 5,600 civilians have been killed by coalition
strikes.
In July there were
reports that Iraqi soldiers used
bulldozers to
hide the bodies of hundreds of civilians killed in the final days of
the battle for Mosul.
MEE’s analysis shows
that during the fight for the Iraqi city, RAF Typhoons and Tornadoes
dropped dozens of Paveway IV bombs on IS fighters in the city.
However, the MoD does not
have troops on the ground in the region carrying out battle damage
assessment of sites struck by RAF munitions.
Instead
it carries out the assessments from video evidence captured from the
air, a technique that has been dismissed as ineffective by other
coalition allies.
The
RAF says it takes “all possible precautions to avoid civilian
casualties”, but Amnesty International has previously expressed
serious concerns about the air war’s toll on civilians. In a report
earlier this year, it found the battle for West Mosul had caused a
“civilian catastrophe”.
Civilians
were being ruthlessly exploited by IS, which had moved them into
conflict zones, used them as human shields, and prevented escape.
They were also being subjected to “relentless and unlawful attacks”
by Iraqi forces and the US-led coalition.
A
source in the RAF told Middle East Eye: “Given the ruthless and
inhuman behaviour of our adversary, including the deliberate use of
human shields, we must accept that the risk of inadvertent civilian
casualties is ever present, particularly in the complex and congested
urban environment within which we operate.”
The
source added that all missions were “meticulously planned” and
there was no suggestion that UK forces have committed war crimes.
However,
there are fears that by failing to fully address the issue of
civilian casualties, the MoD is not presenting the full picture of
Britain’s campaign against Islamic State.
Iain
Overton, the executive director of Action on Armed Violence, said:
“If the RAF can claim zero civilian casualties, then the argument
for more air strikes stands.
“They
can justify such by pointing at the issue of proportionality and IHL
[international humanitarian law], they can claim that their kills are
‘clean’. Perhaps they are, but they don’t present the evidence
to prove they are – not meaningfully.”
The
MoD said in a statement on Wednesday: “Only by defeating Daesh for
good will we reduce the threat to us here at home. British forces
have crippled Daesh since 2014 and the RAF will continue to strike
the terrorists hard where they plan their campaign of hate in both
Syria and Iraq.
“We
have no evidence that RAF strikes have caused civilian casualties.
“We
recognise the challenge faced by coalition pilots in close urban
fighting against a ruthless terrorist enemy that uses civilians as
human shields, but are clear that to do nothing would leave cities in
the hands of Daesh brutality.
“We
do everything we can to minimise the risk through the rigorous
targeting processes and the professionalism of our RAF crews.”
Ongelofelijk maar waar, de reguliere media in de VS zijn trots op het platbombarderen van de Syrische stad Raqqa door de luchtmacht van de VS…… Ondanks oproepen van de VN te stoppen met bombarderen van de stad om burgerslachtoffers te voorkomen, ging de VS gewoon door met haar ‘tapijtbombardementen’ op Raqqa, zoals de VS dat eerder deed met West-Mosul en in een verder verleden: Noord-Vietnam, Laos en Cambodja en nog verder terug op Duitse steden ten tijde van WOII……. Intussen zijn volgens voorzichtige schattingen 1.800 burgers vermoord in de illegale oorlog van de VS tegen Raqqa…….
Let wel: de VS is illegaal aanwezig in Syrië en voert in feite een illegale oorlog tegen het democratisch gekozen bewind Assad en de Syrische bevolking, een oorlog die deze grootste terreurentiteit op aarde al voorbereidde vanaf 2006……..
Dit alles zal de voornoemde media een zorg zijn, de VS heeft ingegrepen en laten zien wat er gebeurt als je de VS tart en zogenaamd een gevaar bent voor de VS……. Alsof de regering Assad en IS een direct gevaar zijn voor de VS….. Eén ding is zeker, met het platbombarderen van Raqqa heeft de VS terreurgroepen als IS niet uitgeschakeld, integendeel, de VS stimuleert terrorisme met haar terroristische buitenlandbeleid….. Al is dat natuurlijk ook de bedoeling, ofwel de geheime agenda: de winsten van het militair-industrieel complex varen er wel bij zoals een aantal weken terug bleek, toen werd bekendgemaakt dat de wapenindustrie in 2016 absolute recordwinsten heeft gemaakt………

This
trend has continued over the course of the last few months, and as
one might imagine, Syrian infrastructure has been completely
decimated. Rather than label this assault for what it is — namely,
a grave crime against humanity encompassing an endless supply of
potential war crimes — the media appears to have chosen a different
tack.
“Looking
at photographs of the ruined, desolate streets of what was once the
Islamic State’s capital of Raqqa is a reminder of the overwhelming,
pitilessly effective military power of the United
States,” wrote the Washington
Post’s David
Ignatius in an op-ed published Thursday.
That
was merely the opening sentence. Ignatius continued:
“The
heaps of rubble in Raqqa that once housed terrorists and torturers
convey a bedrock lesson, as valid now as in 1945: It’s
a mistake to provoke the United States.It
may take the country a while to respond to a threat, but once the
machine of U.S. power is engaged, it’s relentless — so long as
the political will exists to sustain it.” [emphasis
added]
Who
exactly provoked the United States here? The people who have been
hardest hit are clearly civilians who happened to live in Raqqa. What
crime did these people commit?
And
if Ignatius is referring solely to the terror group ISIS, at what
stage did ISIS “provoke” the U.S.? If anything, ISIS was quite
content trying to topple the governments of Iraq and Syria and set up
their own Islamic caliphate back in 2014. That is why the Syrian
government has been so heavily
involved in
fighting ISIS over the last few years: ISIS directly threatens its
territory. Somehow, the U.S. found itself embroiled in yet another
Middle Eastern conflict that didn’t directly affect the U.S.
government or its people.
Nevertheless,
Russia used this opportunity to turn the tables against the U.S.
after western media lambasted Russia’s
assault on Aleppo at the end of last year. On
Sunday, Russia accused the
U.S.-led coalition in Syria of wiping the city of Raqqa “off the
face of the earth” with carpet bombing similar to what the United
States and Britain did to Germany in 1945.
However,
unlike the U.S., Russia had a legal
basis to
begin its military operations within the country, whether or not it
committed war crimes in the process.
David
Ignatius is right about one thing and one thing only – the media is
almost all but silent on what is going on in Raqqa. However, Ignatius
wrongly attributes this to the “inevitable nature of American
force” that has prompted so little discussion. In reality, it’s
likely this topic isn’t being discussed because of the numerous
illegalities surrounding it.
The
people of Raqqa won’t forget what the U.S. has illegally done to
their homes. In July, one witness toldReuters he
found several of his neighbors dead on the street. Cats were eating
their bodies. It later emerged that
American-led airstrikes were wiping out entire families. This is not
how you defeat terrorism. This is how you perpetuate it.
Corporate
media would do well to separate itself from this violent and
grotesque criminal behavior, yet it continues to endorse it.
If RT released
op-eds that glorified Russian crimes to the extent that western media
is doing right now, theWashington
Post would
have a field day.
This
is not the hallmark of an independent press, but rather, one that
serves horrifyingly violent policies. An independent media would
question both Russia’s and America’s roles in the Middle East,
objectively distinguish between the two, and demand both entities be
held accountable for failing to protect civilians when that evidence
arises.
All
that being said, Airwars has more
or less put its monitoring of
Russian airstrikes on hold this year as the U.S. has continued to
surpass Russia in its civilian death toll by a long shot.

Tegelijkertijd bestreed de VS deze terreurgroep zogenaamd middels niet bestaande, of ver uit de buurt van IS gedane bombardementen (het is zelfs bekend geworden dat de VS een paar keer een stuk woestijn heeft gebombardeerd, onder het mom IS te hebben gebombardeerd, terwijl er in kilometers omtrek geen levende ziel te vinden was…)…… Sterker nog: er zijn bewijzen, dat de VS in Irak minstens 2 keer wapens heeft geleverd aan IS…….
Dezelfde VS die schijt had aan oproepen van de VN een paar afzonderlijke landen, te stoppen met bombarderen van o.a. West-Mosul, waarbij de VS een groot aantal burgers vermoordde….. (datzelfde gebeurde onlangs weer in Raqqa) Dit terwijl de VS, m.n. middels Tillerson en VS ambassadeur bij de VN, Haley, Rusland en Syrië continu veroordelen voor het begaan van oorlogsmisdaden, waarvoor overigens telkens weer geen flinter bewijs wordt geleverd……. Rusland en Syrië besloten een paar maanden voor de bevrijding van Aleppo (bevrijding van de enorme terreur o.a. begaan door de ‘gematigde IS rebellen’) te stoppen met bombarderen, juist om zoveel mogelijk burgerslachtoffers te voorkomen……..

Secretary of State Tillerson demands Iranian militias leave Iraq

sought to curb Iranian influence in the region.

US
Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on Sunday demanded that Iranian
“militias” leave Iraq. He was speaking at a press
conference in Riyadh, where the US diplomat is holding talks with top
Gulf officials.
“Certainly
Iranian militias that are in Iraq, now that the fighting against [the
Islamic State group] is coming to a close, those militias need to go
home,” Tillerson said.
“All
foreign fighters need to go home.”
There
are thought to be as many as 120,000 fighters belong to the Popular
Mobilisation Units (PMUs), volunteer fighting groups comprised of
previously existing organisations and groups formed after a call by
religious leader Ali al-Sistani in 2014 to protect Iraq from IS.
Although
the groups are largely paid by the government in Baghdad, the
most-established groups are ultimately loyal to Iran and have engaged
in sectarian reprisals against Sunnis.
Tillerson’s
Gulf visit comes as part of concerted efforts to curb Iran’s
influence in the region including boosting the clout of Sunni-ruled
Saudi Arabia in Iraq, where Iran backs Shia militias fighting in the
north.
As
well as talks with senior Saudi officials in Riyadh including King
Salman, Tillerson attended a landmark meeting between Saudi Arabia
and Iraq aimed at upgrading strategic ties between the Arab
neighbours.
The
meeting appears aimed at boosting Sunni-ruled Saudi Arabia’s clout in
Shia-majority Iraq, part of a wider regional battle for influence
that extends from Syria to Yemen.
Tillerson’s
visit comes after President Donald Trump refused to certify the Iran
nuclear deal, leaving its fate to the US Congress, and laid out an
aggressive new strategy against Tehran in a bellicose speech.
“This
event highlights the strength and breadth as well as the great
potential of the relations between your countries,” Tillerson
said at the first meeting of the joint Saudi-Iraqi coordination
council in Riyadh.
Following
years of tensions with Riyadh, Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi
hailed the meeting as an “important step toward enhancing
relations,” while King Salman warned of the dangers of
“extremism, terrorism, as well as attempts to destabilise our
countries”.
The
question of Iranian influence has also been at the heart of the
diplomatic conflict between Saudi Arabia and Qatar, and Tillerson
headed to Doha later on Sunday for talks on defusing the crisis
between two key US allies.
Saudi
Arabia, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt cut ties with
Qatar and imposed an embargo in June, accusing it of supporting
terrorism and cosying up to Iran.
Doha
denies the charges and has rejected their terms for a settlement.
Tillerson
made an unsuccessful attempt to resolve the dispute during a trip to
the region in July.
Mensen ‘ik wist niet wat ik hoorde’, toen verslaggever Alan Johnston gistermiddag rond 12.17 u. op BBC World Service verslag hoorde doen over (hij was in de BBC studio in Londen) de strijd in Raqqa (Syrië).
Nadat hij vertelde dat er in de zomer heftig was gevochten om Raqqa, vertelde deze zemelaar dat er veel burgerslachtoffers waren omgekomen bij de strijd…… Johnson deed geen moeite te vertellen waar het op stond: het merendeel van de burgerslachtoffers is vermoord met de bombardementen van de VS, tijdens welke zelfs de VN de VS had opgeroepen te stoppen met die bombardementen, iets dat de VS categorisch weigerde, precies zoals ze dit deed in West-Mosul………
Dan durft Nikki Haley in de VN landen als Iran, Syrië en Rusland van agressie en buitensporig geweld te beschuldigen…….. Terwijl Rusland en Syrië zelfstandig 2 maanden voor de uiteindelijke bevrijding van Oost-Aleppo besloten te stoppen met bombarderen, juist om burgerslachtoffers zoveel mogelijk te voorkomen……… Iran beschuldigen is zo mogelijk nog zotter, alsof dit land de ene na de andere illegale oorlog begint, zoals de VS dit pleegt te doen, waarbij de VS ook nog eens terreurorganisaties als Al Qaida Syrië steunt en in het verleden zelfs IS heeft gesteund op een aantal manieren…….
Overigens heeft de VS alleen deze eeuw al meer dan 2 miljoen burgers vermoord met haar illegale oorlogen……..Te gek voor woorden dat het Internationaal Strafhof zelfs geen poging doet dit land en haar psychopathische leiders als Bush, Obama (plus zijn ministers van BuZa Clinton en Kerry), en nu weer Trump en zijn militaire junta voor de rechter in Den Haag te dagen….* Elke ‘succesvolle veroordeling’ van dit hof is in feite een schandvlek op dit meer dan partijdige orgaan……….. Begrijp me niet verkeerd: het is goed dat er oorlogsmisdadigers worden veroordeeld, maar het feit dat deze nooit uit de VS komen, NB de grootste terreurentiteit op aarde, is een gotspe!! (ook andere westerse landen die zich schuldig maken aan oorlogsmisdaden ontlopen de dans keer op keer, een uitzondering zijn de landen uit het voormalig Joegoslavië en dan m.n. Servië. Waar de NAVO zich NB schuldig maakte aan oorlogsmisdaden tegen dit voormalige onderdeel van Joegoslavië…)
* Uiteraard zou dit ook moeten gebeuren voor de grootschalige VS terreur voor het jaar 2000, zoals die o.a. werd uitgeoefend onder Reagan, Bush sr. en Clinton (de laatste met grote steun van massamoordenaar Albright als minister van Buitenlandse Zaken, waar de laatste zelfs geen probleem had met de dood van meer dan 500.000 Iraakse kinderen, middels een door haar geïnitieerde VS boycot van Irak….)……….

De VS heeft het grootste deel van de Syrische stad Raqqa in puin gelegd, elke acht minuten wordt er vanuit de lucht munitie afgeworpen, dan wel afgevuurd (raketten) op de stad…….. Anti-Media bracht gisteren een artikel van Darius Shahtahmasebi, die o.a. Airwars citeerde, deze organisatie stelt dat er in Augustus minstens 433 burgers in Raqqa werden vermoord middels VS ‘precisiebombardementen…..’
Uiteraard is een groot deel van de slachtoffers vrouw en kind, je weet wel, waarbij getroffen kinderen in het westen onder aanvoering van de VS tot hysterische reacties leiden als men daar het reguliere Syrische leger en de Russen van beschuldigt…….. Terwijl de basis van deze berichten bestaat uit valse berichten (‘fake news’) van terreurorganisatie ‘White Helmets’, of andere terreurorganisaties in Syrië, die spreken over getroffen kinderen bij acties van het reguliere Syrische leger en/of de Russen…….
Blijkbaar kan de VS zoveel (kinder) slachtoffers maken als het wil, het westen kijkt stilzwijgend goedkeurend toe……… Bij de bevrijding van Aleppo door hetzelfde Syrische leger en de Russen, stopten deze legers 2 maanden voor de uiteindelijke bevrijding met bombarderen van Oost-Aleppo…… Let wel: bij de bevrijding van de bevolking van de vreselijke terreur waarin zij leefden, ook onder terreur van de door het westen gesteunde ‘gematigde rebellen…….’ (lees: psychopathische: moordenaars, verkrachters en martelbeulen) Dit stoppen met bombarderen, om zoveel mogelijk burgerslachtoffers te vermijden, haalde de reguliere westerse media niet en het besluit kreeg al helemaal geen goedkeurend commentaar van die (‘onafhankelijke’) media of van het overgrote deel van de westerse politici…….
In West-Mosul bleef de VS tot het eind doorgaan met bombarderen, ook al hadden de VN en een aantal landen de VS meermaals om verzocht daarmee te stoppen……… Het totale aantal vermoorde burgerslachtoffers in West-Mosul, alleen al met die bombardementen, zullen we waarschijnlijk nooit weten, zeker nadat het Iraakse leger begon met het bulldozeren van gebouwen en huizenblokken, waarin zich nog de stoffelijke resten bevonden van gebruikers en/of bewoners……. Schattingen van het aantal burgerdoden in West-Mosul lopen uiteen van 10.000 tot dik 20.000………
Nu heeft de VS dus het grootste deel van Raqqa platgegooid en alweer een groot aantal burgers vermoord……. De VS-coalitie (maar vooral de VS zelf) gooide maar liefst 5.775 bommen op Raqqa, dat was een stijging van maar liefst 92% t.o.v. juli 2017……. De VS liet in augustus maar liefst 10 keer zoveel stuks munitie vanuit de lucht neerdalen op Raqqa (een gebied van 40 vierkante kilometer), dan in de maand augustus op heel Afghanistan, hoewel de VS bombardementen daar een record vormden gemeten over de laatste 5 jaar…….. Het zal je dan ook niet verbazen dat intussen 75% van Raqqa in puin ligt……..
Vergeet voorts niet dat het bombarderen van woonwijken een ernstige oorlogsmisdaad is, iets wat bijna niemand nog schijnt te deren……
Wanneer gaat men de VS eindelijk aanklagen bij het Internationaal Strafhof in Den Haag voor haar gruwelijke en grote oorlogsmisdaden die het her en der aanricht….?
The
US Is Bombing Raqqa Into Complete Devastation — at Least 433
Civilians Killed
(ANTIMEDIA)—The
United States has been bombing the Syrian city of Raqqa into complete
devastation at the rate of at least one air-delivered munition every
8 minutes, according tomonitoring
groupAirwars.
The organization found that in August, there was a sharp increase in
the number of bombs dropped by the U.S.-led coalition. This resulted
in at least 433 civilian deaths in that month alone.
From Airwars’
monthly report:
“Raqqa
bore the brunt of this dramatic hike in munitions released. The
Coalition reported that a record 5,775 bombs and missiles were fired
in support of operations to capture the city – a 92% increase
[from] July. This figure is 5% higher than the peak munitions
fired on West Mosul back in March, to date the deadliest month for
civilian harm tracked by Airwars across the entire war. Those 5,775
munitions fired at Raqqa were also more than ten times the declared
number of munitions released by US aircraft in all of Afghanistan
during August – which
was itself at a five-year high.”
This
is also the rate at which the
U.S. was bombing Mosul in
Iraq before Donald Trump took office, and yet the media continues to
remain mostly silent on the topic. It is especially quiet now, even
though Raqqa is less than half the size of West Mosul.
As Airwars explains:
“Moreover,
those record Coalition munitions were fired into a small geographic
area. Raqqa covers approximately 40 square kilometers – less than
half the size of West Mosul. It was reported that some 2,000
ISIS fighters still remained in Raqqa city by August
6th,
who were using as many as 20,0000 civilians as involuntary human
shields.”
Airwars also
explained that even though the coalition continues to use the term
“coalition,” so as to promote the idea of a team-effort being
involved, it is the United States that continues to conduct nearly
100 hundred percent of the bombing. For example, the United Kingdom
delivered only eight strikes in Iraq during the month of August and
31 strikes in Syria (mostly aimed at Raqqa). France delivered 16
strikes in Raqqa for the same period.
More
than 75 percent of Raqqa has now allegedly been
destroyed by the bombing.
This is a territory the United States does not even have the legal
justification to
bomb in the first place, yet it continues to do so unabated.
Russia’s
contribution to the Syrian conflict as of late barely received a
passing mention in Airwars’ report.
While no one would deny that Russian-delivered bombs are just as
deadly as American-delivered bombs, the point is that the media
refuses to cover America’s illegal aggression in Syria in the same
way it has relentlessly
covered Russia’s
bombardment of Aleppo last year – even though Russia’s air
campaign appears to have more
legitimacy than
the coalition does.
“The
coalition has made much of its precision munitions and that has
played a role in reducing harm on civilian populations,” Chris
Woods, director of Airwars,
told Al
Jazeera. “I
think, though, that with these major assaults on urban areas, we are
seeing the limits of precision warfare.”
Woods
added:
“The
coalition likes to claim that this is the most precise warfare in
history. Precision tells you where the bomb goes, not what happens
there after it’s landed. So when the coalition is dropping these
bombs on heavily populated areas, it often has a devastating effect.”
Meanwhile,
having successfully destroyed much of Raqqa, the Syrian Democratic
Forces (SDF) reportedly essentially abandoned their campaign in Raqqa
and turned
their eye to Deir ez-Zor,
an oil-rich region in Syria. This particular arena pits the
U.S.-backed forces directly against the Iranian and Russian backed
forces, which is nothing short of a recipe for
a complete disaster.
De foto’s verderop in dit bericht zijn van Freek Willems, eerder op 9 juli jl. gepubliceerd; ik kwam ze tegen op het blog van Stan van Houcke en ze geven een goed beeld van de vernietiging in Mosul……….. Er zit ook een foto bij met daarop een deel van het oude centrum, dat zo ongeveer helemaal plat ligt, niet vreemd als je ziet hoe dicht de gebouwen daar op elkaar staan……
De VS, in feite de regisseur en leider van de Iraakse coalitie, heeft tot het eind toe West-Mosul gebombardeerd, terwijl men wist dat er nog enorm veel burgers in dat stadsdeel opgesloten zaten…. De VS weigerde simpelweg op oproepen van o.a. de VN in te gaan en te stoppen met die bombardementen……
Ondanks die feiten berichtten de reguliere westerse media hier amper over, hoewel het aantal doden, sommigen spreken van mee dan 30.000 burgerslachtoffers, veel groter was dan in Oost-Aleppo, bij de bevrijding door het Syrische leger en de Russen, van door het westen gesteund geteisem, moordenaars en verkrachters, die hier liefkozend ‘gematigde rebellen’ werden en worden genoemd………
Bij de bevrijding van Oost-Aleppo hadden diezelfde media en het grootste deel van de westerse politici een enorm grote bek over ‘de oorlogsmisdaden’ van ‘Assad’ en de Russen, dit op grond van nepnieuws (‘fake news’) verspreid door die terroristen via het SOHR en de Witte Helmen (de laatste groep is een verlengstuk van Al Qaida, door GB op poten gezet…..)…….. Weet u nog alle hysterische verhalen, waarvoor nooit bewijs werd geleverd, dan wel waar het tegendeel werd bewezen??
Rusland en en het Syrische leger besloten echter al 2 maanden voor de uiteindelijke bevrijding te stoppen met de bombardementen, dit juist om burgerslachtoffers te vermijden……. Ook voor dat feit was totaal geen aandacht in de reguliere westerse media, of bij het overgrote deel van de westerse politici, precies zoals er bij de ‘bevrijding’ van West-Mosul geen aandacht was voor het enorme aantal slachtoffers…. Precies zoals er nu weer geen belangstelling is voor de bevrijding van Raqqa, waar de VS met dezelfde ‘tactiek’ bezig is en in augustus alleen al 433 mensen heeft vermoord middels ‘onverantwoorde’ bombardementen……*

Na
8 maanden strijd heeft het Iraakse leger nu ook de controle over de
oude stad van Mosul verworven. Maar de prijs die daarvoor is betaald,
is enorm. De foto’s die de persagentschappen doorsturen, spreken
boekdelen. Van grote delen van de stad rest niets meer dan puin,
zwartgeblakerd door de vele bombardementen en explosies. Volgens de
Verenigde Naties zal de wederopbouw van Mosul meer dan 1 miljard
dollar kosten.
