Eind
juli werden de stoffelijke resten gevonden van Pinar Gultekin een 27
jarige vrouw….. Ze werd gewurgd door haar partner en daarna in
brand gestoken…….. Haar partner werd gearresteerd.
Het
vermoorden van vrouwen en meisjes is in Turkije intussen zo gewoon geworden dat na deze
vreselijke moord een groot aantal vrouwen de straten op zijn gegaan
om te demonstreren tegen dit vreselijke geweld, zeker daar de regering
juist bezig is om de wettelijke bescherming van vrouwen af te
breken…. (Turkije is onder Erdogan verworden tot een
reli-fascistische staat waar de rechten van vrouwen, homo’s en LGBT mensen in het algemeen, van geen belang zijn…….)
Als een man religieus is, of zich netjes kleedt, heeft hij grote kans dat hij wordt vrijgesproken van moord, ook al heeft hij bekend, daar een toevoeging als op een impuls gehandeld, of gehandeld vanuit misplaatste aantasting van de eer, niet zelden door Turkse rechters wordt gezien als een legitiem excuus om een vrouw te vermoorden…. (totaal gestoord uiteraard!!!) Het excuus van de moordenaar die Gultekin om het leven bracht is dat hij bang was dat zijn vrouw achter deze relatie zou komen…. Ongelofelijk genoeg wordt dit excuus door de rechters regelmatig gebruikt om een psychopathische moordenaar vrij te spreken, er is zelfs een speciale aanduiding voor deze moorden…..
Het
hoeft geen betoog dat de religie mede verantwoordelijk is voor het grote aantal moorden
op meisjes en vrouwen, daar als eertijds in het christendom, de vrouw in
moslimlanden onderhorig is aan de man……Na de zogenaamde couppoging tegen Erdogan een paar jaar geleden (een overduidelijke false flag operatie), heeft Erdogan een groot aantal rechters vervangen en daarvoor ‘rechters’ aangesteld die fundamentalistisch zijn in de (moslim-) leer…… Wanneer een advocaat van een beklaagde bij zo’n rechter aanvoert dat de eer van de dader in gevaar werd gebracht, en de vermoorde vrouw als promiscue wordt afgeschilderd, gaat de dader meestal vrijuit……..
Voorts behoef je je niet af te vragen hoe men in Turkije omgaat met verkrachtingen van meisjes en vrouwen….. Als er al een zaak van wordt gemaakt, heeft het slachtoffer er meestal om gevraagd…….
Lees en
teken de petitie ajb en geeft het door! De hoogste tijd dat Turkije
wordt geboycot zolang het bezig is om o.a. wetgeving ter bescherming van meisjes en vrouwen terug
te dringen…
Het
voorgaande is overigens maar één van de zaken waarvoor Turkije
aangepakt zou moeten worden, neem ook de uiterst barbaarse omgang met
vluchtelingen* en het is dan ook de hoogste tijd dat
alle NAVO-partners van Turkije zich eindelijk hard maken om Turkije
uit dit bondgenootschap te stoten!! (wat niet zal gebeuren, daar
Turkije ‘strategisch is gelegen >> dit is dan ook het teken dat
de NAVO in feite een oorlogshond is van de VS en zich gedraagt als
een enorme terreurorganisatie, die dood en verderf zaait in landen
waar de VS en de rest van dit bondgenootschap niets, maar dan ook
helemaal niets te zoeken hebben!!)

Plaats delict in Turkije, de plek waar een vermoorde vrouw werd gevonden…..
In late July 2020, the remains of
Pinar Gultekin, a 27-year-old Turkish woman, were found. Her murder
was brutal — she was strangled and then placed in a barrel with
concrete and set on fire. Her former partner, Cemal Metin Avci, has
been arrested for the murder. What’s even more tragic than this
horrifying murder is that it’s extremely common in Turkey. That’s why
Pinar’s murder sent women out into the streets in protest. Because
not only is femicide — the murder of women and girls — extremely
common; the government is actively trying to roll back legal
protections for women and girls. Sign
the petition to stand with the women of Turkey in demanding their
human rights are respected and protected!
Apparently, Pinar’s ex boyfriend
has admitted that he killed her, saying that he did it to keep the
affair from his wife. Shockingly, that defense may actually protect
him. It even has a name: the “tie reduction”, wherein if a
man says he acted on impulse and is religious or dresses nicely, he
can often get away with literal murder. This is why Turkish women are
so angry: the laws are written to only protect some women. This means
that if a woman was being “promiscuous”, like being in an
extramarital affair, the law may end up seeing that as solid grounds
for murder! Make no
mistake: these are legal “honor killings”.
But there is a movement to end femicide in Turkey by giving women
better legal protections and more.
* De
barbaarse omgang met vluchtelingen door Turkije, terwijl dit land de laatste 8
jaar al 9 miljard euro aan belastinggeld van EU burgers heeft
gekregen voor humanitaire opvang van die vluchtelingen……. Ondanks dat zitten een groot
aantal vluchtelingen, onder wie een flink aantal gezinnen vast
in provisorische vluchtelingenkampen waar het aan van alles
ontbreekt, iets waarvan de EU lidstaten op de hoogte zouden moeten
zijn…… EU delegaties die onderzoek doen naar die omgang met vluchtelingen, worden keer op keer naar een paar model vluchtelingenkampen begeleid en moeten zo de idee krijgen dat alles in orde
is…… Een
groot deel van de EU (belasting-) gelden zijn dan ook opgeslokt door Erdogan en
zijn bende rovers die de regering van Turkije vormen…..

Doctorow heeft een artikel op zijn WordPress site gepubliceerd (door
mij overgenomen van Information Clearing House [ICH]), waarin hij gehakt
maakt van de belachelijke beschuldiging dat Rusland, of beter gezegd
Putin, de Russische ‘oppositieleider’ (zo meer daarover) Navalny heeft vergiftigd met
novitsjok.
Op
meerdere manieren wijst hij op de onzinnigheid van deze
beschuldiging, feiten die je al eerder op deze plek kon lezen (echter
het kan bepaald geen kwaad om anderen aan het woord te laten, die
dezelfde feiten noemen). De eerste is wat mij betreft de vraag waarom
Rusland (‘Putin’) zo dom zou zijn om Navalny te vergiftigen, hem daarna naar
Duitsland te laten gaan, zodat het westen Rusland (en Putin)
alweer over de hekel kunnen halen….. Over hoeveel manieren de
Russische geheime dienst FSB (en de militaire collega GROe) Navalny zou hebben kunnen
vermoorden, zonder dat iemand de Russische overheid zou kunnen
beschuldigen, weet ik niet, maar dat moeten er wel een flink aantal zijn,
zeker als je ziet dat deskundigen deze geheime dienst als de meeste
professionele op aarde zien…..
Bovendien: als de FSB verantwoordelijk was geweest voor deze vergiftiging had het gegarandeerd novitsjok of een ander gif gebruikt dat niet te herleiden was naar Rusland, men is daar zachtjes gezegd niet helemaal dom……
Zoals
eerder op deze plek gesteld heeft Rusland volgens de OPCW nooit
novitsjok gemaakt*, terwijl Oekraïne de formule uit de Sovjet tijd
wel heeft gefabriceerd en hebben zoals ook Doctorow meldt, Groot-Brittannië, en Duitsland een kleine
voorraad in bezit, dit ‘voor controle doeleinden….’ Wat uiteraard
niet wil zeggen dat Rusland niet alsnog een kleine voorraad kan
hebben….
Overigens is het zeker dat ook de VS deze stof in het
bezit heeft, ondanks dat de VS verdragen heeft getekend tegen dit soort wapens en biologische wapens, is het nog steeds druk bezig met de ontwikkeling van deze wapens…… Israel en Egypte hebben het verdrag tegen het fabriceren en verspreiden van chemische wapens niet getekend en zij ontwikkelen en fabirceren deze smerige troep nog steeds…..) Voorts dient gewezen te worden op het feit dat werken
met novitsjok uiterst gevaarlijk is, een specialist vergeleek het
zelfs met het gooien van een atoombom op een stad om één persoon
uit te schakelen (dit n.a.v. de Skripal zaak)……
Over
Skripal gesproken, als in die vergiftiging, krijgt Rusland geen
antwoord op het verzoek zelf mee te mogen doen aan het onderzoek naar
de vergiftiging van Navalny, althans als daar al sprake van is…….
Rusland mocht zelfs niet meedoen aan het onderzoek naar de
vergiftiging van de Skripals….. Gisteren lieten westerse media al
weten dat Rusland zelfs weigert mee te doen aan het onderzoek, een
pertinente leugen!!
Merkel
was, als de reguliere westerse media, wel heel snel met de
beschuldiging dat Rusland achter de vergiftiging zou zitten en dat op
basis van ‘inlichtingen’ aangeleverd door de Duitse geheime dienst….. Terwijl westerse geheime
diensten bekend staan om hun leugens, achterklap en anti-Russische
propaganda…. Ook nu weer wordt alles uit de kast gerokken, zo wordt Rusland weer beschuldigd van agressie in het
buitenland en zou het De Krim hebben geannexeerd (dat noemt Doctorow
ook als een feit…), terwijl iedereen die een klein beetje moeite
doet, kan weten dat dit een smerige leugen is: de bevolking wenste
niet te worden geregeerd door een corrupte, fascistische VS marionet,
die door de VS werd geparachuteerd nadat de door hen democratisch
gekozen president Janoekovytsj werd afgezet…… Daarom
koos de bevolking voor een referendum tot aansluiting bij Rusland (dat toch al haar marinehavens had op De Krim) en met overweldigende meerderheid, inclusief die van de
oorspronkelijke bewoners, werd gekozen voor aansluiting bij Rusland, in een door internationale waarnemers als
eerlijk bevonden referendum……
In
Rusland heeft Navalny overigens veel machtige vijanden, dit daar hij
corruptie onderzoekt en reken maar dat oligarchen in staat zijn om
Nalavlny te laten vermoorden, ook met novitsjok…… Doctorow acht
die mogelijkheid als bijna uitgesloten daar deze figuren hun leven
niet zeker zouden zijn als Putin daar achter zou komen, immers
Rusland heeft geen baat bij nog meer demonisering door het westen,
echter ik sluit iets dergelijks niet uit, immers een goede aanslag
laat geen sporen na die naar de dader leiden (de reden waarom de FSB
dit niet kan hebben gedaan)……
Een
reden die ik zelf niiet genoemd heb zit in de frustratie van de
westerse landen in Europa over de Trump administratie die de laatste
jaren haar haat heeft verlegd van Rusland naar China, ofwel ook de EU
en de NAVO-partners van Rusland hebben baat bij deze aanslag, in de
hoop dat de VS haar agressie weer richt op Rusland……
Dan is
er uiteraard nog Nord Stream 2 (NS2) de gaspijpleiding van Rusland
naar Duitsland, een doorn in het oog van Trump die het peperdure
schaliegas uit de VS als LNG wil leveren aan de EU…… Ofwel ook de
VS heeft op een bepaalde manier baat bij de vergiftiging van
Navalny……
Redenen
genoeg om Navalny uit te schakelen, echter niet één reden waarom
Rusland dit gedaan zou hebben, sterker nog Rusland kon hier van meet af aan alleen
maar slechter van worden…… (Navalny is geen gevaar voor Putin,
hij is geen oppositieleider, daar zijn partij goed is
voor slechts 2% van de Russische stemmen……)
Onder het ICH artikel kan je klikken voor een Nederlandse (Dutch) vertaling, dit neemt wel enige tientallen seconden in beslag. De vertaling komt meestal een beetje vreemd over, maar valt over het algemeen goed te begrijpen (al gebruik ik liever Engels).
Novichok
and Nonsense: From a post-factual to a post-logic world

Clearing House”
– “Everyone is entitled his own opinion, but not to his own
facts.” These words of sage commentary from the late Senator
Daniel Patrick Moynihan of New York State were overturned half a
decade ago when we entered the world of “fake news” and facts
became irrelevant to public discourse. Since then American political
elites and their respective media outlets on both sides of debate
have shamelessly invented the “facts” as suited their latest
polemical position. The occasional modifier of what cannot be
factually proven is “highly likely.”
Regrettably the latest
news coming out of Germany yesterday regarding the Navalny poisoning
case indicates a further ratcheting down of the possibilities for
civil discourse in the direction of dispute resolution by brute
force, that is to say, by war. Our leaders seem to have taken leave
of their senses and are putting to us narratives that absolutely defy
logic.
Chancellor Merkel
announced that German military experts attribute Alexei Navalny’s
poisoning to the Russian nerve agent Novichok, the same poison that
was allegedly used by the Russian military intelligence forces
against the Skripals in Salisbury. We have heard a great deal
about Novichok in that connection, but the single most relevant
information to the present case is that it is a tightly controlled
substance which only state entities might have access to and that its
use would have to be approved at the highest levels. Given this
background, given that the Russians were notified of the expertise
findings on Navalny by megaphone diplomacy, that is to say without
any prior warning via diplomatic channels, and given the insistent
demand by Merkel, backed up moments later by the head of NATO, by the
head of the European Commission and by a spokesman of the White House
that the Russians explain what happened, what we have here is a very
lightly disguised accusation that Vladimir Putin ordered the
poisoning. All the ducks in the West are now aligned against Russia,
with Mme Merkel leading the charge.
Russian
counter-demands that the proofs of German toxicity findings be shared
with them have gone unanswered, just as they were in the Skripal
case. Thus, a Russian “explanation” of what happened to
Navalny in the Tomsk before his flight will almost certainly not
satisfy their accusers in the West.
What we may expect
next is a new round of Western sanctions against Russia, quite
possibly entailing suspension of the highly contested Nord Stream II
pipeline project. If that is so, then the Navalny poisoning will have
turned around the German state position on relations with Russia –
and with the United States, which has tried unsuccessfully to cancel
Nord Stream II by bullying Germany – just as the downing of MH 17
in the summer of 2014 brought Europe on board the US-led sanctions
campaign against Russia over its annexation of Crimea and
intervention in the Ukrainian civil war in the Donbass.
The only problem with
this entire scenario is that is makes absolutely no sense from start
to finish. Even reputable mainstream newspapers like The
Financial Times
said in their reporting from the outset of the Navalny case that
there were many oligarchs in Russia, including one or two whom they
named, who would gladly have organized the murder of Navalny for
their own reasons, whereas the Kremlin had every reason not to want
this anti-corruption, anti-Putin campaigner to be harmed because the
reaction in the West was entirely predictable. The Editorial Board of
the FT
was busy cooking up a wholly different case for sanctions against
Russia which they released one day ago: should Putin order his forces
to intervene in Belarus to crush the opposition to President
Lukashenko.
Now the identification
of Novichok as the poison takes the whole scenario to a level of
utter absurdity. Had the Kremlin wanted to silence Navalny,
which is the basic accusation that Merkel delivered yesterday, it had
a vast array of means to do so. Given what we have heard about
the tight controls applied to this military grade poison and its
identification as specifically Russian in origin, the Russian
President might just as well have had Navalny’s throat slit and
written his signature on the blogger’s forehead.
But even this illogic
passes muster in our media. We are told that Putin wanted to show
that he can do whatever he likes, to thumb his finger at the West for
its pusillanimity. To cut to the quick, we are being told that
Vladimir Putin is a madman. And the message is coming from none other
than Angela Merkel, still leader of Europe’s strongest economy,
most populous nation, and determining force of policies in Brussels.
In which case, suspension of Nord Stream II would be a mere tap on
the wrist. The logic, if any can be salvaged from her story, is that
Putin should be physically eliminated, like Saddam Hussein, like
Gaddafi….for “violating all of our fundamental values” as she
claimed yesterday.
I found it most
interesting that the BBC World reportage on the Navalny case
yesterday evening explained to listeners that Russian state
possession of the agent Novichok would be in violation of the
convention on chemical weapons, which is why a domestic Russian crime
becomes an international cause
celèbre.
At the same time they noted that both Germany and the United Kingdom
have “small quantities” of Novichok in their military labs for
control purposes. Insofar as it has relevance in our post-logic
world, I would suggest that both Germany and the United Kingdom
intelligence forces are as likely to have had the means to poison Mr.
Navalny as the Kremlin’s forces, and unlike the Kremlin, they had
far more reason to do so. It is scarcely believable that the
Kremlin did it. It is scarcely believable that Russian oligarchs did
it, since they would then be pointing a finger directly at Putin and
would not survive.
One final point is
that the Navalny poisoning comes at a moment in international
relations that is vastly different from that which prevailed at the
time of the Skrypal poisonings two years ago. Back then there
was only one Big Baddy in the world, Russia. Today, the United
States under Donald Trump has shifted the global villain’s label to
the People’s Republic of China and in the run-up to the November
elections, he has steadily raised the diplomatic, military and
commercial pressure on the PRC in areas as diverse as uncoupling the
economies to bolstering ties with Taiwan. Trump has been twisting
arms in Europe to follow the American lead on China, but resistance
on this issue has been surely much greater than resistance over
sanctions on Russia. As we learned during the visit of the
Chinese Foreign Minister to Germany two days ago, the PRC is
Germany’s largest export market, with annual sales topping two
hundred billion euros. Given these facts, Mme Merkel has every reason
to redirect Europe and America’s lust for sanctions to her neighbor
directly to the East, the Russian Federation. That is to say, she has
“every reason” if logic plays any role today in state behavior.

De zaak Navalny begint op z’n achtst gezegd te lijken op een false flag operatie, zeker gezien het feit dat Rusland wel de laatste was die zat te wachten op een vergiftiging van Navalny, zoals hierboven ook betoogd, vandaar ook de volgende links:
Tijdens
de Democratische Conventie werd er met geen woord meer gesproken over
Russiagate, het kwaadaardige sprookje dat Rusland de
presidentsverkiezingen in 2016 zou hebben gemanipuleerd met het
hacken van de DNC servers en daarna de verkregen kennis, vooral mails
van Hillary Clinton (die een heel smerig spel speelde waardoor
Sanders de voorverkiezingen verloor) lekte naar Wikileaks. Bovendien
zou Rusland met advertenties voor wodka en borsjt, ter waarde van
100.000 dollar, dezelfde verkiezingen hebben gemanipuleerd.*
Nee, de
Democraten die 4 jaar lang niets anders deden dan schreeuwen en
spugen over Russiagate deden er plotseling het zwijgen toe, niet voor
niets daar men weet dat dit
de kiezers tegen hen zou opzetten, immers deze hele zaak was van A
tot Z gelogen……
Nu het
onderwerp waarover het hieronder opgenomen artikel van Common Cause
gaat: de postservice in de VS verzorgd door de Unites States Postal
Service (USPS), die door de zittende president en diens
psychopathische administratie op een manier is gemanipuleerd dat het
vrijwel onmogelijk is dat kiezers die dat willen, hun stem per post
kunnen uitbrengen voor 3 november a.s., de officiële verkiezingsdag voor de VS presidentsverkiezingen……
Daarvoor
heeft Trump de directeur van de USPS ontslagen, inclusief een groot
deel van het management daaronder, uiteraard met vervanging door op z’n zachtst gezegd bipslikkers van hemzelf (je moet er niet aan denken…), figuren die de opdracht hebben om de postdienst dusdanig uit te kleden dat minimaal de verkiezingen van begin november niet per post kunnen worden uitgevoerd….. Zeg maar figuren zoals grofgraaier Herna Verhagen van Post NL, die in Nederland de postdienst langzaam maar zeker de nek omdraait….. Al kort na Trumps eerste aanval op de postdienst werden op een groot aantal
plaatsen postsorteermachines verwijderd en daarna vernietigd……
Niet
voor niets, daar zelfs Trump een paar maanden terug liet weten dat
wanneer elke stemgerechtigde in de VS zou stemmen, de Republikeinen
(zijn partij) nooit weer aan de macht zouden komen……
De
hysterie over de presidentsverkiezingen in 2016, dus de Russische
manipulatie van die verkiezingen, werd ‘feilloos’ overgenomen door de
andere westerse landen, zozeer zelfs dat hare D66 kwaadaardigheid
en minister Kajsa Ollongren, stelde dat Rusland ook hier de verkiezingen
manipuleert….. ha! ha! ha! ha! ‘Ja, Nederland is qua invloed in de
wereld minstens zo groot als de VS en Ollongren zag zich
waarschijnlijk al als de Pompeo van Nederland….’ (wat een mafketel!!!)
Alles wat na die verkiezingen gebeurde en niet in het frame van de neoliberale EU
staten paste werd in de schoenen van Rusland geschoven, zoals de
Brexit en het onafhankelijkheidsreferendum in
het Spaanse Catalonië……..
Men
maakt zich in de EU matig druk over wat er in Hongarije en Polen
gebeurt, terwijl je daar wel degelijk van grote manipulatie van
verkiezingen kan spreken…… Als het landen van buiten de EU zijn
en die niet dansen naar de pijpen van de EU heeft men in de EU
een grote bek, echter dat de verkiezingen in de VS op zo’n grove
manier worden gemanipuleerd interesseert de topgraaiers in Brussel
geen ene moer……
En
Ollongren wat vind jij van deze meer dan schunnige en
overduidelijke manipulatie van de verkiezingen in de VS?? Uiteraard
zal ze daar een grote bek over hebben, maar reken maar niet dat ze de
VS zal dreigen met sancties (een grote bek daar ze achter de
Democraten staat)…… Wellicht dat men straks met een verhaal komt
dat Rusland de hersenen van Trump manipuleert, ook al heeft Trump
Rusland alles behalve gediend met de sancties tegen dat land en het
optrekken van een raketschild in Polen en Roemenië (zogenaamd tegen
raketten uit Iran)…. En vergeet niet dat de VS aan de leiding staat van de NAVO legers langs
een deel van de Russische westgrens, waar binnenkort alweer een
militaire oefening staat gepland, deze keer in Georgië, één van de vele NAVO oefeningen,
echter waar de meeste van deze oefeningen niet eens meer worden
gemeld in de reguliere westerse media….. (overigens heeft de VS ook militaire bases in de buurt van de Russische Oostgrens in Siberië….)
En dan sprak ik niet eens over het misbruik van zijn functie waarmee Trump reclame maakt voor zichzelf, zelfs vanuit het Witte Huis (en Pompeo vanuit Israël……..)
En waar maakt men zich in het westen zorgen over? Juist! Over de manipulatie van de verkiezingen door Rusland en dat geldt niet alleen voor de VS, maar ook voor de rest van de westerse landen, zoals ik al even van Ollongren aanhaalde, immers wat is er mooier dan tijdens een verkiezingscampagne Rusland door de stront te trekken?’ ‘Ja toch, immers je lijkt er dapper mee en ‘t kost geen stuiver!!!’ Daarover gesproken: volgens mij heeft Ollongren alweer gewaarschuwd dat Rusland onze verkiezingen zal manipuleren….. ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Verder kan je er alle kritiek mee doen verstommen, immers je zet je in voor ‘t goede doel: ‘ons aller veiligheid’, ‘immers de Russen staan al voor de grens bij Venlo!!’

DeJoy,
a Trump mega-donor with no prior USPS experience, is trying to
undermine the agency from the inside.
He’s already been forced to backpedal, saying he wouldn’t make
any more changes before the election — but won’t commit to fixing
the damage he’s already done. [2]
That falls
right in line with the president’s plan — Trump openly admitted
that doesn’t want the USPS funded because “they need that money
in order to make the Post Office work so it can take all of these
millions and millions of ballots.” [3]
Soon
afterward, the Washington
Post
reported that the USPS is telling states it “cannot guarantee”
all mail ballots will be delivered on time to be counted. [4]
For
Donald Trump to attempt to destroy our Postal Service
— just because he thinks it might hurt his election chances, just
because he thinks doing so could give him an unfair advantage — is
one of the most shameful political acts I’ve witnessed in my life.
And
unfortunately, we can’t take Trump or DeJoy’s word for it — the only
way these problems will get fixed is if a federal court forces them
to.
You should
know the facts: the best thing to do is request your absentee ballot
early, then complete it and mail it in as soon as possible — and
encourage everyone you know to do the same. And remember, you have
the option to safely vote or drop off your ballot in person. [5]
But equally
important, we need to make sure that every voter in this country has
the right to confidently and securely mail their ballot in. The
Postal Service, which processes and delivers 500 million letters per
day
during the holiday season, knows how to handle mail-in ballots —
now, we just can’t let Trump get in its way.
That’s

STOP Trump’s manufactured Postal Service crisis.
Let me be
absolutely clear: allowing Donald Trump to destroy the USPS right now
would be extremely dangerous.
Not only
would he be directly impeding what’s needed for a safe and secure
election, but he’d be accomplishing a major item on his right-wing
donors’ wishlist — sabotaging a popular, successful, and necessary
public service for private profit.

Mensen het was gisteren ‘bal’ op de landelijke radiozenders en andere media in ons en de ons omringende landen en dat zal vandaag niet veel anders zijn, zonder enig bewijs worden Rusland en m.n. Putin in de westerse media en politiek aangewezen als de hoofdschuldigen voor ‘het vergiftigen’ van ‘oppositieleider’* Navalny met novitsjok…… Uiteraard wordt alles erbij gesleept, de leugens over de annexatie van De Krim……** De hulp van Rusland aan het reguliere Syrische bewind en alle leugens die op dat dossier in het westen zijn gefabriceerd…..*** Als belangrijkst werd uiteraard de vergiftiging van Skripal er bij gesleept (zo meer daarover)
Dat Navalny in Rusland zou zijn besmet met novitsjok is uiterst discutabel, niet alleen omdat het werken met deze chemische stof uitermate gevaarlijk is en er in de directe omgeving van wie dit spul in een theekop doet eigenlijk vrijwel direct een aantal mensen, inclusief de dader zouden omkomen, zo giftig is dat spul….. Maar denk je eens in dat de Russische overheid inderdaad de dader zou zijn, waarom dan in godsnaam zouden ze Navalny hebben laten vertrekken?? Immers men zou dan op de Russische klompen kunnen aanvoelen dat Rusland weer door de westerse gemeenschap zou worden aangemerkt als de dader (zoals inderdaad eergisteren al gebeurde en waar gisteren zoals gezegd het hek geheel van de dam was….)
Wie heeft er nu echt bate bij het vergiftigen van Navalny, Rusland zeker niet! En al helemaal niet na de enorme leugencampagne van het westen onder aanvoering van GB in het geval Skripal, die samen met zijn dochter zou zijn vergiftigd met novitsjok, waarvan deskundigen zoals gezegd stellen dat wanneer dit het geval was geweest ze beiden al lang en breed onder de zoden hadden gelegen en een flink aantal mensen in de buurt van het huis waar zij woonden…….. De zogenaamde bewijzen dat Rusland achter die vergiftiging zou hebben gezeten zijn al even flinterdun: bijvoorbeeld het bewijs dat 2 figuren van de Russische geheime dienst wel heel toevallig in Groot-Brittannië waren ten tijde van de aanslag op de Skripals….. Benieuwd hoeveel geheim agenten van andere naties in GB waren ten tijde van die aanslag, ik wed dat dit er meer dan 10 waren!!
Nee, de grootste Rusland haters profiteren enorm van deze nieuwe leugencampagne en dan moet je denken aan Oekraïne, plus de andere Oost-Europese landen die in tegenstelling tot Oekraïne, al lid zijn van de EU en als laatste en bepaald niet als minste natuurlijk de VS (daarover zo meer) en haar oorlogshond de NAVO…… Hoe harder men in de media en politiek tegen Rusland en haar leider Putin schopt, hoe meer men het daar naar de zin heeft……
Schreeuwlelijk Navalny ‘in betere tijden’
Vergeet voorts niet dat Oekraïne het enige land is dat daadwerkelijk ooit novitsjok heeft geproduceerd, daarvoor een formule gebruikend uit de Sovjet tijd, zoals al ten tijde van de Skripal vergiftiging bekend werd gemaakt, niet door Rusland, maar door de OPCW……
Eén van de grootste oorlogsmisdadigers van Europa en nee dat is Putin bij lange na niet, maar Stoltenberg de topgraaier van de NAVO, riep gisteren al op tot internationale maatregelen….. Uiteraard mede doelend op het schrappen van NS2 ofwel: Nord Stream 2 (een gaspijpleiding van Rusland via de Oostzee naar Duitsland), waarvan men nu, zoals van te voren te bedenken was, van Merkel een definitief nee verwacht, terwijl deze gaspijpleiding al bijna geheel is afgezonken in de Oostzee……
Als dit gebeurd, dus het afblazen van NS2, kan de VS (let op: de grootste belanghebber bij het demoniseren van Rusland) enorme hoeveelheden LNG, als alternatief voor goedkoop Russisch gas, de EU lidstaten door de strot duwen en dat natuurlijk tegen een kapitaal, immers het zwaar gesubsidieerde schaliegas uit de VS is zo duur dat de productie al enige tijd stilligt……(subsidie alleen al doordat men alle giftige stoffen die worden gefabriceerd bij het fracken voor gaswinning, zo mocht lozen op rivieren of direct in zee, terwijl een verantwoorde verwerking en afvoer van deze troep ongelofelijk duur is…..)
Verder mag niet vergeten worden dat de NAVO aan een groot deel van de Russische westgrens staat en de VS, de echte leider van deze terreurorganisatie, heeft rond een deel van de Russische oostgrens (meerdere) militaire bases…….. Wellicht dat Stoltenberg wel een VS aanval zou wensen op Rusland, of een deel daarvan, zeker nu de VS het raketschild in Polen en Roemenië klaar moet hebben en zo raketten met meerdere kernkoppen kan inzetten tegen Russische steden als Moskou en Sint Petersburg….. (je weet tenslotte nooit hoe gek in de kop figuren als Stoltenberg en Trump werkelijk zijn, ook al kan het een ieder duidelijk zijn dat beiden minstens een ‘erg scheve en lege boekenkast in de bovenkamer dragen……’)
Kijk en deze in het kort geschetste militaire spanning is weer goed voor de wapenfabrieken in het westen, met name voor de enorme fabrieken in de VS, die niet alleen wapens en munitie fabriceren en over een deel van de wereld verkopen, maar ook de grote fabrikanten zijn van rollend, varend en vliegend oorlogstuig……. Ofwel: de VS heeft meerdere economische belangen bij het verder demoniseren van Rusland…….
* Dat ‘oppositieleider’ gisteren nog voorzichtig op een paar van die mediaorganen, maar reken gerust dat dit snel zal veranderen, het is als met de door de VS geparachuteerde fascist Guaidó in Venezuela, al werd deze onmiddellijk door de media aangewezen als oppositieleider, na deze illegale handeling van de VS, terwijl hij tot dat moment zelfs in Venezuela een grote onbekende was en zijn partij maar een paar zetels haalde in verkiezingen…….
** Geen annexatie maar een aansluiting bij Rusland na een door internationale waarnemers
goedgekeurd referendum, waarvoor de overgrote meerderheid van de
bevolking, inclusief de oorspronkelijke, hebben gestemd… Dit daar zij
het niet eens waren met de coup tegen de door hen in democratische
verkiezingen gekozen president Janoekovytsj, zij wensten niet te leven
onder het bestuur van de door de VS geparachuteerde corrupte fascist
Porosjenko…… (hetzelfde geldt overigens voor een groot deel van
Oost-Oekraïne, waarover men durft te zeggen dat het Russische leger daar
vecht, als dat zo was geweest, was heel Oekraïne al lang en breed gezuiverd van de
neonazi’s die daar de politiek in de houdgreep hebben…..)
*** Leugens waarvoor geen bewijs kon worden geleverd, sterker nog: neem
bijvoorbeeld de zogenaamde gifgasaanvallen op doelen in Syrië, aanvallen volgens het westen van Assad tegen zijn eigen bevolking, deze aanvallen blijken achteraf te
zijn gedaan door de zogenaamde ‘gematigde
rebellen’ (psychopathisch, moordend, verkrachtend en martelend
geteisem), waarvan het westen wist dat ze chemische wapens als chlorine
en sarin op voorraad hadden……. Kortom als je de berichten moest
geloven is Rusland wereldwijd schuldig aan moord en doodslag, terwijl de
VS met hulp van de NAVO de laatste 20 jaar meer dan 2,5 mensen heeft
vermoord in het Midden-Oosten en (Noord-) Afrika…….
Gistermiddag maakte de Duitse bonskanselier Merkel bekend dat Navalny is vergiftigd met Novitsjok en regeringswoordvoerders maakten bekend morgen te zullen overleggen met NAVO-lidstaten, i.p.v. EU-lidstaten, dit om verdere sancties tegen Rusland te bespreken……
Blijkbaar zijn de artsen die Navalny in Berlijn behandelen ook deskundigen op recherche en microbiologisch niveau, immers zij hebben blijkbaar kunnen zien dat de gebruikte novitsjok uit de zak van Putin komt…. Wat een gezwets!!
Novitsjok is uiterst dodelijk en ook Skripal en zijn dochter kunnen daar volgens echte deskundigen niet mee zijn besmet, daar ze anders al lang morsdood zouden zijn geweest….. Vergeet verder niet dat Rusland niet mocht deelnemen aan het onderzoek naar de vergiftiging van Skripal, ofwel van een onafhankelijk onderzoek is destijds totaal geen sprake geweest!!

Vreemd ook dat WDR5 in het nieuws van 18.00 u. meteen de NAVO noemde, immers deze immense terreurorganisatie wil liever vandaag dan morgen onder aanvoering van de VS een aanval openen op Rusland……
Wat voor belang zou de Russische overheid hebben bij het vergiftigen van Navalny? Alsof Rusland al niet genoeg wordt gedemoniseerd in het westen en alsof Navalny ook maar enigszins een bedreiging is voor Putin, Navalny is bepaald geen oppositieleider, zoals men al voorzichtig begint te berichten in het westen…..Trouwens als Rusland Navalny inderdaad had vergiftigd, was men daar nooit zo gek geweest om Navalny te laten vertrekken….
Hier is duidelijk sprake van een false flag operatie*, waarschijnlijk van de CIA, om op deze manier Duitsland te dwingen te stoppen met de aanleg van Nord Stream 2 (NS2), een gaspijpleiding van Rusland door de Oostzee naar Duitsland en dit als sanctie van Duitsland tegen Rusland…… Eén en ander daar de VS haar overtollige zwaar gesubsidieerde schaliegas in de vorm van LNG wil verkopen aan de EU-lidstaten…….
Ach en verder was het van meet af aan duidelijk dat Rusland zou worden beschuldigd van een aanslag op Navalny, Rusland zal en moet hangen en daarvoor is tegenwoordig alles geoorloofd, van smerige propaganda leugens tot ronduit haatzaaien tegen dat land………
Vandaag werd bekend gemaakt dat VVD volksverlakker en minister van BuZa Blok geschokt is en om opheldering zal vragen aan Rusland….. ha! ha! ha! ha! Men zal het in Moskou wel in de broek hebben gedaan nadat dit bekend werd gemaakt!
Tijdens
de gehele Democratische Conventie van 17 t/m 20 augustus, viel
letterlijk niet één keer het woord ‘Russiagate’, terwijl de
Democraten het de laatste 4 jaar wel 1.000 keer werd uitgespuugd door
de hypocriete politici van die partij. Logisch dat men er nu maar mee
is gestopt, immers het is bewezen flauwekul en alleen door de partij
in stelling gebracht om Hillary Clinton uit de wind te houden, die op
een smerige manier de voorverkiezingen van de Democraten in 2016
heeft gewonnen, ofwel: zij heeft destijds de voorverkiezingen gestolen ten koste van Bernie Sanders……
Een lid
van Clintons verkiezingsteam, Seth Rich was zo pissig over de
handelswijze van Clinton en de top van dat team, dat hij een enorme
stapel mails van Clinton doorspeelde naar Wikileaks…… Een paar weken later
werd Rich vermoord op straat gevonden, volgens de politie een
roofmoord, hoe vreemd dan dat er werkelijk niets was gestolen van
Rich, terwijl hij ook opzichtig dure sieraden droeg……. (bovendien waarom zou je iemand 2 maal in de rug schieten als je deze wilt ontdoen van diens kostbaarheden en geld??)
Nee,
i.p.v. een Russische agent, bleek Trump de figuur die een enorme
legermacht heeft samengetrokken langs delen van de Russische
westgrens, waarbij hij nu ook nog de beschikking heeft over een
raketschild ‘tegen Iran’ maar waarvan de raketten in een mum van tijd
kunnen worden voorzien van meerdere kernkoppen en dat op raketten die
tot 5.000 kilometer kunnen vliegen, waardoor steden als Moskou en
Sint-Petersburg vanaf de voordeur van Rusland kunnen worden geraakt met kernraketten….
Met dat schild heeft de Trump administratie het INF-verdrag
geschonden, iets waarvan de VS en haar oorlogshond NAVO Rusland volkomen ten onrechte
beschuldigden……. (Rusland zou nieuwe raketten hebben die volgens
de VS onder dat verdrag vallen, echter op meerdere uitnodigingen van
het Kremlin om te komen inspecteren ging de VS niet in, daar de
duivelse Trump administratie dondersgoed wist en weet dat Rusland de waarheid
sprak……)

The
only interesting thing about either of the conventions held by
America’s two mainstream political parties this month was not
anything that was said by the interminable parade of vapid speakers,
but rather what those speakers did not say.
Despite
their dominating mainstream news cycles for years on end, at no time
during the four-day Democratic National Convention was the word
“impeachment” ever uttered, nor was any mention made of the
Mueller investigation into allegations of collusion between Trump and
the Russian government.
Eight
months after Democrats mounted a historic effort to remove Donald
Trump from office, not a single speaker uttered the word
“impeachment” during their four-day convention.

For
Democrats to completely omit impeachment from their convention was
once unthinkable. Democrats had mounted a case that Trump had abused
his power to blackmail Ukraine into investigating his political
adversaries, including Biden. And they made an existential argument
that without removing him from office, Trump’s behavior would get
worse and democracy itself would be at risk.

Special
counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation of the Trump campaign’s
ties to Russia — which Democrats once thought could topple Trump
for obstruction of justice — also went unmentioned, even as it was
a defining feature of Trump’s nearly four years in office.

fact that Democrats couldn’t bring themselves to even mention
Russiagate or Ukrainegate (the first-ever sequel to a flop?) at their
convention should maybe hasten some reflection for those who made
these issues the ‘defining feature of Trump’s nearly four years in
office,'” quipped
incisive Russiagate skeptic Aaron Maté of the omission on Twitter.
“Next
on Unsolved Mysteries: Democrats and media allies accused Donald
Trump of being a Russian agent for four years,” Maté added.
“They chanted ‘All Roads Lead to Putin’ and ‘The Walls Are
Closing In.’ But at their political convention, they forgot all about
it. Did Russia give them amnesia?”

personally feel like if the President of the US seeking re-election
is beholden to and controlled by an adversarial foreign power, the
opposition party should find a few seconds to squeeze in a mention of
it if, you know, it wasn’t utter bullshit,” tweetedThe
Intercept‘s
Glenn Greenwald.
And,
of course, it was utter bullshit. And that is indeed why the
Democrats saw no need to mention it at their own four-day convention
despite dominating news cycles with it for years. Russiagate and
Ukrainegate were never the cataclysmic scandals that the Democrats
and their allied media factions portrayed them as. They weren’t even
actually about getting rid of Trump.
In an extremely strange and confounding development, the Democrats *never once* mentioned what this NYT columnist calls “the biggest lie in American politics” at their Convention.
Anyone
with an ear to the ground knew that Russiagate would fizzle, and
anyone capable of counting Senate seats knew impeachment would fail
to remove Trump. The drivers of these attention-monopolizing
narratives knew this also.
If
there’d been any solid evidence to find that the Kremlin was
blackmailing Trump, or that his campaign had conspired with the
Russian government to steal the 2016 election, the US intelligence
community would have found some of it and leaked it to The
Washington Post
long before Trump took office. The Russiagate narrative has been
completely dismantled from the very beginning by journalists like the
late Robert Parry,
and then Maté after Parry’s death. There was never any real
evidence for it, and the people pushing Russiagate from the beginning
knew there was never any real evidence for it.
All
you really need to know about Russiagate was that it was started by
unsubstantiated claims by the US intelligence community, and in the
end it facilitated pre-existing plans by the US intelligence
community. Everything else in between those two points is just empty
narrative fluff.
In
2017 Parry
documented
how the original assessment that Russia meddled in the US election in
the first place was put forward without proof by just a couple dozen
officers from three intelligence agencies hand-picked by the notoriously
Russophobic
then-Director of National Intelligence James Clapper. Maté
has documented
that this allegation remains just as suspicious
and porous
as the day it was first made. Despite having sweeping investigative
powers Mueller indicted not one single American for conspiracy with
the Russian government. The recent evidence-free Senate Select
Committee on Intelligence report did
nothing to change the
flimsy nature of the entire Russiagate narrative.
So
the whole thing has been plainly bogus from the beginning, with the
foundation laid by secretive and unaccountable intelligence agencies
who have an
extensive history of lying
about exactly this sort of thing. And it just so happens to have
paved the way for operations against a longtime geostrategic foe that
were being unfolded well before Trump’s arrival in
the White House.

In
the last eighteen months, the greatest build-up of military forces
since World War Two — led by the United States — is taking place
along Russia’s western frontier. Not since Hitler invaded the
Soviet Union have foreign troops presented such a demonstrable threat
to Russia.
Ukraine
– once part of the Soviet Union – has become a CIA theme park.
Having orchestrated a coup in Kiev, Washington effectively controls a
regime that is next door and hostile to Russia: a regime rotten with
Nazis, literally. Prominent parliamentary figures in Ukraine are the
political descendants of the notorious OUN and UPA fascists. They
openly praise Hitler and call for the persecution and expulsion of
the Russian speaking minority.
This
is seldom news in the West, or it is inverted to suppress the truth.
In
Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia — next door to Russia – the US
military is deploying combat troops, tanks, heavy weapons. This
extreme provocation of the world’s second nuclear power is met with
silence in the West.
This
was all happening during the Obama administration. But he was still
more doveish than the spooks and cold warriors who drive US foreign
policy would prefer, resisting for example loud calls from the
warmongers to arm
Ukraine against
Moscow and forcibly
install a no-fly zone
in Russia’s ally Syria.
We
suddenly found ourselves bombarded with narratives from the US
intelligence community and its mass media stenographers about Russian
election meddling and Trump playing some mysterious role in it. These
narratives were pushed with steadily increasing frequency and
shrillness, with the help of a humiliated Democratic Party that stood
everything to gain by participating, until those of us who expressed
any skepticism of them at all were being accused on a daily basis by
MSM-brainwashed dupes of running psyops for the Russian government.
We
were never at any time presented with any proof of these claims which
rose anywhere near the level required in a post-Iraq invasion world,
but we were hammered with them anyway, day in and day out, year after
year.
This
ended up putting a lot of political pressure on Trump to keep
existing sanctions and military tensions with Russia, and he ended
up adding dozens more new
cold war escalations including further sanctions, shredded nuclear
treaties, NATO expansionism and more. He even armed
Ukraine due
to these pressures, just like the anointed queen was scheduled to do.
The
cold warriors wanted their escalations, and they got them. From
beginning to the end, that’s all this was ever about. They pushed the
narratives, the media joined in because it was great
for ratings,
and the Democrats joined in because it took the focus off their 2016
scandals
and gave them a kayfabe phantom to punch instead of pushing
for actual progressive changes.
And
now the slow
motion third world war
between the US-centralized power alliance and the loose collective of
unabsorbed governments is right on schedule, with Biden all set and
ready to carry the omnicidal torch forward. The 2016 scandals are
well enough forgotten, no progressive changes have been made, and
there is no need to talk about Russiagate or impeachment at the
Democratic National Convention.
Because
everyone already got what they wanted. Everyone except ordinary
people, of course.

Duitsland nam in de tijd daarna (2015 en 2016) 1,2 miljoen vluchtelingen op, vergelijk dat eens met Nederland en het grootste deel van de EU waar men in Oost-Europa zelfs amper gevluchte mensen opnam.
Vind het regeringsbeleid van Merkel niet veel, ook al is het tien keer beter dan dat van Rutte 3 (en Rutte 1 en 2), maar voor deze zaak neem ik m’n pet af voor Merkel!!
Overigens heeft Duitsland sinds het begin van de Coronacrisis een groot aantal kinderen (tot 14 jaar) opgenomen, kinderen die geen ouders hebben en die voor een deel ziek zijn, de EU zou in totaal 1.900 van deze kinderen opnemen, echter vooralsnog is vooral Duitsland het EU-lid dat deze kinderen opneemt…..

Nederland heeft bij monde van VVD hufter premier Rutte en hare VVD ploertigheid Broekers Knol laten weten zelfs geen weeskinderen tot 14 jaar op te willen nemen, nee men wil een aantal van die kinderen naar het Griekse vaste land laten overbrengen en daarvoor betalen, ofwel schuld afkopen, immers ook Nederland heeft het VN Vluchtelingenverdrag getekend…… Weer moet je je schamen Nederlander te zijn, gvd!!!

Over schamen gesproken: partijen als de ChristenUnie en het CDA moeten zich helemaal de ogen uit de kop schamen, immers zij maken deel uit van Rutte 3, terwijl jezus hen in de bijbel heeft gemaand vluchtelingen op te nemen, ja zelfs hun bed af te staan aan de verdrukten der aarde!! (de christenfundi’s van de SGP steunen dit kabinet en ook deze schoften moeten zich kapotschamen!!)

De
Democratische Conventie heeft eens te meer duidelijk gemaakt dat met
een Democraat in het Witte Huis de kans op een verlichting van de
ongebreidelde VS terreur in diverse buitenlanden geen sprake zal zijn….. Vorige week
dinsdagavond werd in de VS een van te voren opgenomen video
uitgezonden, waarin een groep van 7 militaire, geheime dienst en
diplomatieke beambten werden getoond, deze figuren stelden dat de
Trump administratie niet agressief genoeg optreedt in het
Midden-Oosten*, en tegen Rusland, China, Iran en Venezuela……
Ongelofelijk
dat ook Colin Powell deel uitmaakte van de 7, dat deze vreselijke
oorlogsmisdadiger zijn mond nog open durft te doen is een gotspe!! De
schoft stelde dat niemand zal durven opstaan tegen Biden daar ze
zullen weten wat ‘business’ is onder Biden, je weet wel dezelfde
‘business’ die met de leugens van Powell werd losgelaten op Irak en
die daar intussen aan meer dan 2 miljoen mensen het leven heeft gekost, ofwel mensen die zijn vermoord door de VS en haar hielenlikkende NAVO partners
als Nederland…….
Zoals al
zo vaak gesteld (ook op deze plek) met Biden als president zal de
wereld er bepaald niet vreedzamer op worden en dat is een
beangstigend feit!! (vooral beangstigend voor de bevolkingen van
landen die zich weigeren te schikken naar de VS hegemonie…..)

Biden campaign and the attempt to “rescue” American hegemony

– Over the past week, the American public was subjected to an
eight-hour infomercial, officially termed by the Democratic Party a
“convention,” in which the long-time political reactionary Joe
Biden was packaged simultaneously as the great American everyman and
a miracle cure for America’s problems.
Amid celebrity cameos,
empty platitudes, and unconvincing “personal” anecdotes, the vast
majority of this week’s telethon was devoid of any actual
discussion of program and policies. Behind the hoopla, however, there
are significant conflicts within the ruling class, centered primarily
on issues of foreign policy.
These conflicts were
partially revealed on Tuesday night, when the convention aired a
pre-recorded segment featuring a group of seven military,
intelligence and diplomatic officials who claimed that the Trump
administration was not fighting the US wars in the Middle East and
pursuing its conflicts with Russia and China aggressively enough.
Commenting on Trump’s
Middle East policy, Brett McGurk, in charge of the US operations in
the Middle East under Obama, said, “Our military had a policy to
maintain our presence in Syria,” which Trump went on to “abandon.”
He concluded, “It’s shameful.”
Rose Gottemoeller,
former Deputy Secretary General of NATO, concluded that Trump “hasn’t
been standing up” to Russia and China “at all.” Another State
Department official added, “Thanks to Donald Trump, our adversaries
are stronger, and bolder.”
Following the segment,
General Colin Powell added that Biden “will make it his job to know
when anyone dares to threaten us, he will stand up to our adversaries
with strength and experience. They will know he means business.”
The “business” for which Powell is best known is the destruction
of Iraq and the death of one million of its inhabitants, based on
false claims about “weapons of mass destruction.”
These themes were
expanded upon in a letter published Friday by a group of 72
high-level intelligence and military officials—and war
criminals—headed by former CIA and NSA director Michael Hayden,
declaring their support for Biden.
The first of the
letter’s ten bullet points states that Trump “has called NATO
‘obsolete,’ branded Europe a ‘foe,’ mocked the leaders of
America’s closest friends, and threatened to terminate longstanding
US alliances.” As a result, the letter concludes, “ Donald Trump
has gravely damaged America’s role as a world leader.”
In other words, the
present administration has undermined the fundamental geostrategic
aims that have led the United States into three decades of war: The
effort to control the Eurasian landmass, including the Middle East.
In the four years
since Trump became the Republican nominee, a ferocious conflict has
been raging within the ruling class, centered on differences over
foreign policy, and in particular the “hot war” being waged
between the Ukrainian government and pro-Russian forces in its
Eastern regions after the US-backed coup in 2014.
Instead of focusing on
the conflict with Russia that has been the preeminent concern of much
of the foreign policy establishment, the Trump administration has
been preoccupied with stunting the economic growth of China while
building up US military capabilities to fight a war in the Pacific.
But here, too, the
military and intelligence figures aligned with the Biden campaign
feel that the White House has been ineffective. As two of the
letter’s signatories wrote in an article in Foreign
Policy
magazine, “Trump has confronted China by starting trade wars with
everyone else” rather than involving other imperialist states.
“Major democratic powers including Japan, France, and Canada are
desperate to work with the United States to blunt China’s predatory
technology policies.”
From the standpoint of
the ruling class, it is primarily these differences over foreign
policy, not domestic policy, that are being fought out in the
election. Facing the greatest social and economic crisis since the
Great Depression, domestic policy has been conducted on a largely
bipartisan basis. The CARES Act, which sanctioned the
multi-trillion-dollar bailout of Wall Street while starving testing
and contact tracing, passed unanimously in the Senate and by an
unrecorded voice vote in the House.
The latest issue of Foreign
Affairs,
one of the main journals of US geopolitics, lays out some of the
concerns of the dominant factions of the state. “After nearly four
years of turbulence,” the lead editorial states, “the country’s
enemies are stronger, its friends are weaker, and the United States
itself is increasingly isolated and prostrate.”
Its concern is that
Trump has proven an unreliable steward of the interests of the ruling
class abroad. “Dragging his party and the executive branch along,
the president has reshaped national policy in his own image: focused
on short-term advantage, obsessed with money, and uninterested in
everything else.”
The magazine’s lead
story declares that Trump’s unstable and erratic foreign policy has
resulted in a situation in which “China is wealthier and stronger,
North Korea has more nuclear weapons and better missiles… and
Nicolás Maduro is more entrenched in Venezuela, as is Bashar
al-Assad in Syria.”
From the standpoint of
the Biden campaign, the solution to all of these crises is to
reassert American dominance and “leadership” over its traditional
allies in Europe and Japan in order to pursue a more aggressive US
policy against Russia and China. The United States must again be the
world hegemon.
The central focus of
the new administration will be “reclaiming America’s place in the
world” through the reassertion of “American exceptionalism,”
stated Joe Biden adviser Jake Sullivan in the Atlantic
.
Earlier this year,
Biden published an article entitled “Rescuing U.S. Foreign Policy
After Trump” in the March/April issue of Foreign
Affairs.
In that article, he declares, that “to counter Russian aggression,
we must keep the alliance’s military capabilities sharp.” At the
same time, the United States needs to “get tough with China.” The
“most effective way to meet that challenge is to build a united
front of U.S. allies and partners to confront China.”
But while the latest
issue of Foreign
Affairs
may be titled “The World Trump Made,” the geopolitical debacle
facing the United States did not spring from Trump’s head. Trump
did not make the “world.” Rather, the “world”—and,
specifically, the crisis of American imperialism—made Trump.
The decline in the
hegemonic position of the United States extends over a period of
decades and was already evident prior to the collapse of the Soviet
Union in 1990-91. The dissolution of American imperialism’s Cold
War adversary was seized on by the strategists of the American ruling
class to declare a “unipolar moment.” The United States could
utilize its unrivaled military power to counter its declining
economic position through force.
The endless series of
wars launched by the United States over the past three decades have
destroyed entire societies—in Iraq, Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, Libya,
Syria, Ukraine, and Yemen, among others. But they have failed to
reverse US imperialism’s fortunes. Moreover, they have profoundly
distorted and brutalized American society itself: a process of which
the fascistic Trump administration is an expression.
Even prior to Trump’s
inauguration, there were growing tensions between the US and its
erstwhile allies in Europe. The coronavirus pandemic and the
disastrous response of the ruling class to it—a policy that has
been bipartisan—has further eroded the global position of American
capitalism.
American imperialism
confronts intractable problems, and first among them is the growth of
social opposition within the United States itself. Among the
considerations motivating support for the Biden campaign within the
ruling class is the hope that it can somehow establish a broader base
for imperialist aggression abroad. The promotion of identity politics
is aimed at further integrating privileged sections of the upper
middle class behind the project of global domination. This is what
Kamala Harris represents.
A Biden/Harris
administration will not inaugurate a new dawn of American hegemony.
Rather, the attempt to assert this hegemony will be through
unprecedented violence. If it is brought to power—with the support
of the assemblage of reactionaries responsible for the worst crimes
of the 21st century—it will be committed to a vast expansion of
war. Trump and Pompeo are barreling headlong toward a conflict with
China. Biden’s critique of this disastrous course is that the
United States needs to get “tough,” whether against Russia,
China, Afghanistan, Syria, or everywhere in between.
The American ruling
class, moreover, confronts in the growth of the class struggle the
most serious threat to its geopolitical ambitions.
Whichever course is
ultimately determined by the election, US imperialism has, as the World
Socialist Web Site
warned in the run-up to the Iraq war, a “rendezvous with disaster.”
All factions of the US state are united on a course of action that
will lead to the deaths of countless millions. The struggle against
war will not go forward through the selection of either Trump or
Biden, but through the independent struggle of the working class.

Hoorde gistermorgen weer een onzinnige column van Marianne Zwagerman op BNR, deed me onmiddellijk denken aan die van vorige week, waarover ik al een concept had geschreven, maar nog geen tijd had dit in een bericht te verwerken en te posten.
Zwagerman sprak toen over psycholoog Martin Appelo, die na in april kritiek te hebben geleverd op het lamlendige Coronabeleid van Rutte 3 en het Management Outbreak Team, werd afgeserveerd door de publieke omroep, waarmee ze vooral de zogenaamd onafhankelijke NOS bedoelde. Was Appelo eerder tot wel 3, 4 keer per week te horen in het waanzinnig slechte NOS/NTR programma ‘Nieuws & Co’, na zijn kritiek geen optredens meer in dat programma…….. Inderdaad belachelijk, daar haalde Zwagerman volkomen haar gelijk.
Zwagerman
Echter e.e.a. heeft volgens Zwagerman niets te maken overheidsdwang, dit daar Zwagerman uit eigen ervaring weet dat dit onzin is. Zwagerman weet dit daar ze eerder directeur van een groot mediabedrijf was en dat was de Telegraaf* (al noemde ze die naam niet in haar column), waar ze directeur van het digitale medium van dit bedrijf was……
Zwagerman vergat voor het gemak even dat een zendgemachtigde als de NOS afhankelijk is van overheidssubsidie en zich wel degelijk bezighoudt met zelfcensuur ten gunste van de zittende regering…… Neem alleen al de bezuinigingen van de laatste 20 jaar op de NOS en de rest van de publieke omroep……. Niet voor niets ook dat een paar jaar geleden het uitstekend presenterende duo Marcel Oosten en Frederique de Jong die op Radio1 ‘s morgens het NOS Journaal presenteerden, hun ontslag kregen, gegarandeerd als gevolg van hun bij tijd en wijle ongezouten kritiek op de zittende regering…….. In plaats daarvan werd de enorme kruk Jurgen van den Berg aangesteld als presentator, de man kan niet eens een normaal gesprek voeren met gasten, laat staan dat hij figuren als ministers of staatssecretarissen zou kunnen interviewen in de beperkte tijd die daarvoor staat op Radio1…….
Op 12 augustus, dus een dag na de column van Zwagerman, in het onovertroffen suffe programma onderdeel ‘Mediaforum’ van Spraakmakers op Radio1 (na 10.00 u. bij KRO-NCRV), spraken de aanwezige journalisten en presentator zich uit voor meer ‘positief nieuws’ in de media, dit terwijl men bijvoorbeeld amper of geen tijd besteedt aan zaken als de zich in Jemen voltrekkende genocide, of wat dacht je van de enorme terreur van Israël tegen de Palestijnen…… Het niet melden van deze zaken heeft dan ook alles te maken met de belangen van de zittende regering, die liever geen kritiek ziet op staten als Israël of Saoedi-Arabië, immers daar valt ofwel geld te verdienen, dan wel om een beschuldiging van antisemitisme te voorkomen……
Daarover gesproken: ook de zogenaamd onafhankelijke BBC is als de dood om subsidie te verliezen en heeft ‘flink meegedaan’ aan het demoniseren van Jeremy Corbyn als zou hij een antisemiet zijn, een leugen van enorme proporties die hem de verkiezingen heeft gekost en dat was dan ook precies de bedoeling, de top van Labour die meedeed aan de demonisering van Corbyn, had daar zelfs een verkiezingsverlies voor over……….
Niet alleen de publieke zendgemachtigden maken zich schuldig aan zwaar gekleurde berichtgeving, ook de reguliere commerciële (massa-) media maken zich daar in grote getale schuldig aan….. Niet zo vreemd als je ziet dat de eigenaren van deze media uitermate welgesteld zijn en zeker in het westen hebben deze eigenaren belang bij het handhaven van de inhumane neoliberale status quo, die ook nog eens goed is voor de enorme kapitalen die deze figuren bezitten……
Niet voor niets ook dat de westerse reguliere media zonder uitzondering achter de voorbereidingen en de uitvoering van de illegale oorlogen staan die de VS her en der begon….. Men nam zonder enig onderzoek de leugens over van geheime diensten als de CIA en de NSA, ook al wist men dat deze diensten enorm veel vaker liegen dan dat ze de waarheid vertellen…… Niet zo vreemd als je nagaat dat de eigenaren van die media in het bezit zijn van grote aandelenpakketten in de wapenindustrie**, ofwel (illegale) oorlogsvoering is goed voor deze aandeelhouders, dat geldt overigens ook voor oliemaatschappijen, ook die draaien op z’n best als de VS weer eens met een fikse illegale oorlog bezig is……***
Zwagerman verzuchtte in haar column nog “Was het maar zo makkelijk”, doelend op geldstromen enz. die ten grondslag zouden liggen aan bepaalde berichtgeving (of het niet melden van zaken, Ap). Welnu Zwagerman: zo makkelijk is het…. Advies voor Zwagerman: duik eens een aantal uren in Wikileaks en je zal versteld staan wat er allemaal mogelijk is en bedenk dan meteen wat het lot is van degenen die de klok luiden over smerige zaken tijdens oorlogen of de voorbereiding daarvan…… (neem Edward Snowden)
* De Telegraaf, zo liet Zwagerman enige tijd geleden weten, zou voor velen de oorzaak van WOII zijn geweest…… Zwagerman doelde hier uiteraard bijzonder cynisch op het totale foute karakter van de Telegraaf tijdens deze Wereldoorlog….. Vanwege het op grote schaal collaboreren met de nazi-Duitse bezetter werd de Telegraaf na WOII verboden en zou wellicht nooit meer zijn verschenen als de door hemzelf gewenste stadhouder van Hitler, prins Bernhard, zich na de oorlog niet had ingezet voor het opheffen van het verschijningsverbod van deze nazi-krant……
** Wat
betreft de aandelenpakketten in de wapenindustrie: daarbij doel ik op
de wapenindustrie in de breedste zin van het woord, dus ook aandelen in
fabrieken die varend, rollend en vliegend oorlogstuig maken.
*** Deze oorlogen worden uiteraard
politiek en militair gesteund door de andere NAVO-lidstaten…. De NAVO die zonder
enige uitzondering vanaf de oprichting van deze terreurorganisatie,
militair wordt geleid door meerdere sterren dragende VS
officieren….
The
Saker heeft een analyse geschreven over de situatie in
Wit-Rusland (Belarus) n.a.v. de verkiezingen in dat land.
Volgens
de Saker is het duidelijk dat de CIA, de Oekraïense geheime dienst
SBU en de Wit-Russische geheime dienst KGB de boel manipuleren in
Wit-Rusland. “Honderden Russen’ zouden naar Wit-Rusland zijn
gestuurd om de boel de destabiliseren, informatie die van de
Oekraïense SBU kwam, deze mannen werden afgeschilderd als
terroristen, opstandelingen en leden van de Russische Wagner PMC
(Private Military Company)…… (het gaat overigens niet om ‘honderden Russen’ maar om een dertigtal)
Achteraf
blijkt het dat deze Russen (veiligheidsagenten) werden ingehuurd door
een veiligheidsbedrijf in Wit-Rusland en zouden op doorreis zijn
geweest naar landen als Soedan en Venezuela. Echter ‘ze mistten de
aansluitende vlucht’ en waren daarom genoodzaakt te overnachten in Minsk.
Diezelfde nacht overviel een zwaar bewapend ‘KGB’ team het hotel en
werden deze mannen gearresteerd, terwijl de Russen niet eens in het bezit waren van wapens….
Daarop
werd Rusland beschuldigd chaos en geweld te willen uitlokken in
Wit-Rusland, een vergelijking met het Maidan plein In de Oekraïense
hoofdstad Kiev, al werd de opstand in Oekraïne georganiseerd en
geregisseerd door de CIA…… Hillary Clinton destijds minister van
BuZa onder ‘vredesduif’ Obama trok daar zelfs 4 miljard dollar voor
uit en ook het geweld tegen demonstranten door sluipschutters, kwam
rechtstreeks uit de koker van de CIA…… (zo meer daarover)
De claim
dat Rusland de boel zou willen destabiliseren in Wit-Rusland is meer
dan belachelijk, daar Rusland wel uitkijkt om geweld aan te wenden in
Wit-Rusland. De informatie waarop deze leugen is gebaseerd kwam zoals gezegd van
de ‘uiterst betrouwbare’ Oekraïense SBU……. Bovendien zo voert de
Saker aan weet de Wit-Russische KGB alles wat er gebeurd in
Wit-Rusland en daarmee bedoelt hij letterlijk alles, ofwel de claim
dat deze Russen onrust wilden zaaien (en het bewind van
Loekasjenko omver zouden willen werpen) is grote nonsens, waar
de kennis van de KGB over alles wat zich afspeelt in Wit-Rusland alleen maar het gegeven versterkt dat Rusland geen geweld zou
gebruiken tegen het bewind in Minsk……
Lees het
uitvoerige relaas van de Saker en verbaas je (zoals ik) over de
machinaties van alweer het westen in Oost-Europa en die er volledig
op is gericht om van Wit-Rusland een zoveelste vazalstaat van de VS
(en de door haar militair geleide NAVO) te maken, zeker als je nagaat dat dit land strategisch
is gelegen….. Mocht het de VS lukken om van Wit-Rusland een vazalstaat als te maken, zoals Oekraïne, heeft Rusland weer een deel van
haar grens waar de VS en haar NAVO-lidstaten met een leger op de
drempel van haar voordeur staan, zoals dit al het geval is met de
Baltische Staten, een deel van Oekraïne en ga nog maar even
door…….
Ben het overigens niet eens met de Saker wat betreft de voormalige Oekraïense president Janoekovitsj. Deze president was wel democratisch verkozen en dat in door internationale waarnemers goedgekeurde verkiezingen….. En ja, Janoekovytsj had vooral veel aanhang in het oosten van Oekraïne en op De Krim (inclusief de oorspronkelijke bevolking van dat schiereiland). Waarschijnlijk doelt de Saker op het geweld dat werd gebruikt op het Maidanplein tegen demonstranten, terwijl dat zoals gezegd het resultaat was van VS manipulatie, zoals ook ‘de opstand’ daar werd georganiseerd door de CIA….. Het feit dat Janoekovytsj ‘pro-Russisch’ was had alles te maken met een voor Oekraïne heel lucratief vrijhandelsverdrag dat hij sloot met Rusland, terwijl een verdrag met de EU uiterst onvoordelig was voor Oekraïne……(iets waar je de westerse reguliere media en politici nooit over hoort!!)
Onder

Putin
and Russia are facing a very serious crisis in Belarus

– Some of my longtime readers might have noticed that I rarely
(if ever!) wrote about Belarus or President Lukashenko. As
always with the blog, there always is a reason for why I do mention
something and no less a reason why I do not mention something.
In the case of Belarus or Lukashenko, my reason for not writing about
them was the exact same why I never wrote about the Ukraine before
2013: I was both uninspired and mostly disgusted with what I saw
taking place there. And I did not feel strongly enough to write
about it. That changed for the Ukraine with the Euromaidan.
Now the events in
Belarus force me to address this very unpleasant topic: Belarus is
facing a complex and dangerous crisis which might well result in a
major crisis inside Belarus and even a loss of sovereignty. But
first, before we look into what just happened, let me begin by a
quick “mini-primer” about Belarus. Here is what I think
everybody ought to know about this country:
Belarus
is a completely artificial creation, even more artificial than the
Ukraine. At least in the Ukraine there were “westerners”
(Galicians) who truly were not Russians at all (you can think of
them as the “real Ukrainians” if you want) and whose hatred for
everything Russian was every bit as rabid as the one of the Interahamwe
of Rwanda. There is no meaningful equivalent to the Banderites
in Belarus.
Lukashnko
was no more pro-Russian than Ianukovich. This is crucial.
Lukashenko was always pro-Lukashenko, not pro-Russia. Both the
West and Lukashenko like to say that Belarus is the only real
Russian ally. This is false. Technically, Russia and
Belarus are supranational union states. However, it is true
that Lukashenko tried to use the historical identity between the
Russian and Belarusian people to demand that Russia help him out
over and over and over again. And until recently, Russia did.
As
a country, Belarus is a quasi perfect police state with an extremely
competent and feared KGB (yes, in Belarus they kept the name) which
controls everything and everybody. This is also crucial for
reasons I will explain below.
As
for the Kremlin, it always wanted to foster a reunification with
Belarus but this process was never fully completed due to regular
problems, and even crises, between Moscow and Minsk. Russia
poured immense sums of money to keep the Belarusian society from
crashing.
Finally, Belarus
is really a poor country with very limited resources. For
Russia, however, Belarus is a crucial military ally, one which plays
a central role in Russian defense plans. If the US and NATO
will be successful in taking control of the country, this will be a
major strategic threat for the Russian security.
These are just a few
pointers to compare and contrast Belarus with the Ukraine.
Now let me summarize
what just happened.
The Belarusian
authorities have declared that “hundreds” of men (supposedly
Russians) have been sent to Belarus with nefarious intentions.
Lukashenko has since officially confirmed that he got this info from
the Ukrainian SBU. The men themselves were described as terrorists,
insurgents, members of the “Wagner” PMC, subversives, etc. and
their goals were described as killing Lukashenko, triggering a new
“maidan” in Belarus, create chaos, etc.
Frankly, the
Belarusian authorities never got their story straight and, frankly
again, this really makes no difference at all. Here are two
things which I consider as indisputable:
Russia
would never even consider using force or illegal covert operations
against Lukashenko and/or Belarus
The Belarusian
KGB knows everything of any importance taking place in Belarus
I would even argue
that argument #2 very much supports argument #1.
Whatever may be the
case, it appeared
that a group of Russian security guards had been recruited by a
Belarusian firm to provide security in various countries (Sudan and
Venezuela is often named). They traveled to Belarus and planned
to fly out of Minsk for their final destinations. They were
delayed, apparently deliberately, then they missed their flight and
were told to go and rest at a hotel which happened to be located not
far from the residence of Lukashenko. In the middle of the
night, a KGB swat team moved in with flash-bang grenades and guns
drawn and brutally arrested everybody in spite of the fact that none
of the sleepy Russians offered any kind of resistance. No
weapons of any kind were found, no evidence of any covert plans
either, but the authorities declared that since these men were not
drinking or harassing waitresses and since they kept to themselves,
this was a clear proof that they were on a secret mission (I am not
joking!).
All of the above is
absolute and utter nonsense and we should not get distracted by the
minutia of this clearly fabricated pretext.
Here is what really
happened.
It now appears that
the Ukrainian secret service SBU (which does nothing without Uncle
Sam’s approval) mounted a complex covert operation to try to get
Belarus and Russia into a confrontation. The entire operation,
including recruitment, purchase of airline tickets, etc was, in fact,
run from the Ukraine. This was also the biggest mistake the
Ukies did: they did not hide their actions well enough and it took
the Russians special services less than 24 hours to figure out the
entire plan and leak
it to the media (in Russian). The fine details are still
being ascertained, but the bottom line is this: the Ukrainians
pretended to be a security firm looking for men with proven combat
experience, especially those who fought in the Donbass against the
Ukronazi forces. Once recruited for some pretty typical guard
duties, these men were to be flown to Minsk where they would miss
their plane and be left waiting for the next opportunity to leave
Belarus. At this point, the SBU seems to have contacted the
Belarusian KGB and “warned” them about Russian “mercenaries”
sent by Russia to kill Lukashenko or, at least, overthrow him.
It is also obvious now
that the SBU specially wanted Russians which had combat experience in
the Donbass to then ask Belarus to hand them over to Kiev. Such
a demand was made almost immediately for most of the men in this
group.
So far so “good”
(not really, but you know what I mean), but here is when the
Belarusians and Lukashenko himself started to act really strangely.
The first logical step
for the Belarusian authorities should have been Lukashenko calling
Putin and asking for an explanation. Alternatively, the head of
the Belarusian KGB could have called the head of the FSB and ask him
for clarifications. But, instead of doing that, the Belarusian
KGB organized this ridiculous “seizure” of the Russian
“mercenaries” while the latter were asleep in their hotel and had
no idea whatsoever what was going on.
Next, instead of
working with the Russians, Lukashenko just gave a long interview to
one of the most talented and most morally repugnant Ukie journalist,
Dmitrii Gordon (who proudly proclaims that he is an SBU agent).
But then it only got
worse.
Lukashenko pounced on
the opportunity to, yet again, engage in his typically long-winded
rants against Russia. He even went as far as to suggest that
Belarus might extradite some of these Russian men to the Ukraine
(which, as we now know, had provided a list of wanted men to the
Belarusian KGB). From these actions it became immediately clear
to the Russians that Lukashenko was playing some kind of dirty game
in the last days before the Presidential election which took place on
Sunday.
So what could explain
the outright bizarre behavior of the Belarusians?
Reason one: Simply put
– Lukashenko’s popularity is declining as fast as the disposable
income of the Belarusians.
Reason two: The US is
clearly engaged in major strategic PSYOP to seize control of Belarus.
Reason three: The
Belarusian state in its current condition is simply not viable and
never was.
Let’s take these one
by one.
While nobody doubts
the outcome of any election in Belarus, it is also pretty
uncontroversial that most Belarusians do support Lukashenko.
The point is not whether Lukashenko would win, but only by how much
he would win? The elections yesterday yielded the lowest
possible and acceptable result for Lukashenko: 80%. This figure
is really meaningless, all it shows is how good the Lukashenko regime
is at winning elections. This time, however, there appear to be
more protests than in the past and, unlike what happened in the past,
the protests are not limited to Minsk and they have now spread to
other cities. So while Lukashenko was never at risk of
officially losing the election, a maidan-like protest remains a clear
concern for him.
Pompeo in Belarus: only a coincidence, of course
But there is much more
to this story.
Following a meeting
between Lukashenko and Pompeo, the US will now open a (very big)
embassy in Minsk. For years the West has been calling
Lukashenko all sorts of names, and now it is suddenly “all smiles”.
Is that really a
coincidence?
I very much doubt it.
But it even gets much
worse than that: the US is sending one of its most capable and
dangerous officials to subvert Belarus: I am referring to Jeffrey
Giauque, a State Department intelligence official with a long
track of successive destabilization missions.

introduce himself to the Belarusian people:
In fact, it is now
pretty obvious that the entire provocation with the Russian
“terrorists” was carefully crafted and implemented by a joint
US-Ukrainian. Had the Ukie SBU not been so sloppy with how they
organized it all (it took the FSB less than 24 hours to get a full
and accurate picture of what had happened) this plan might have
succeeded. In fact, it still might.
But blaming it all on
the US, the SBU and Lukashenko really does not tell the full story.
The truth is that
Belarus is a completely artificial state, much more artificial even
than the Ukraine, and it is a state which simply cannot survive by
itself. Neither can it hope to survive forever on Russian aid.
And while looking
at the roots of Ukrainian nationalism is important and
interesting, such an exercise is useless in the case of Belarus since
Belarusian nationalism is something truly a-historical and artificial
and which really has no foundation outside western ideological
dogmas.
While the Soviet
Union’s Marxist and generally russophobic ideology regime always
fostered the emergence of local nationalisms (and even created
previously non-existing “nationalities”), Belarusian nationalism
was something which never got much traction, which is hardly
surprising since any distinction between a Russian and a Belarusian
is much smaller than the differences amongst Russians who now live in
a very diverse and truly multi-ethnic society. Still, from the
point of view of the Party Nomenklatura
and their western curators, not splitting away Belarus from Russia
while such countries as the Ukraine or Kazakhstan declared their
independence was unthinkable, thus a kind of weird compromise was
reached which was supposed to reassure both the people of Russia and
those of Belarus. Some agreements were made, others were
endlessly negotiated about (especially any energy deals!) and what
eventually resulted from this all is this weird and artificial
statelet of only 10 million people. As for its leader, he
declared that Belarus will follow a “multi-vector” foreign policy
which I would summarize as follows: pump as much money out of Russia
as possible, while at the same time seeking support from the
AngloZionist Empire.
[Sidebar: yes, I know,
Lukashenko is called the “last dictator of Europe” and he is not
popular in the West. My point is that his lack of popularity is
to be credited to the West, and not to him. Over and over
again, Lukashenko tried to get support (meaning “money”) from the
West and now Pompeo & Co. have apparently decided to make “their”
son of a bitch “our” son of a bitch. What I mean by that
Lukashenko was the textbook case of the “our son of a bitch”
phenomenon, but not for the West – for Russia. I furthermore
believe that like all “sons of bitches” (including “theirs”
and “ours”) – Lukashenko has now turned into a liability for
Russia.]
There is another very
worrisome development taking place now: in this entire business the
Belarusian KGB was either hopelessly incompetent (which it ain’t!)
or penetrated by western agents. I find the second explanation
much more likely.
If we now assume that
the Belarusian KGB has been penetrated and compromised, then this is
very bad news for Lukashenko who might find himself in the same
situation as, say, Nicolae Ceaușescu, who was betrayed by his own
secret services (we can also remember how many US/Israeli agents were
in high position around Bashar Assad until the war in Syria forced
them to pick a side).
Frankly, while the CIA
and the rest of them are not very good at some things, they are truly
world-class masters in the art of corrupting officials and this might
have already happened in Belarus.
Right now, there are
riots in Minsk and in other cities and while in the capital the riot
police has things mostly under control, there have already been cases
of riot cops running for their lives to avoid being lynched by the
mob. As of the time of writing this (Monday 21:50 UTC) the
Belarusian KGB has declared that they are hunting down the worst
agitators and rioters, but considering how easy it has been for the
Ukrainian SBU to trick (or, worse, infiltrate) the Belarusian KGB, I
am not feeling very reassured by this verbiage: special services are
here to take care of dangerous problems, not to make big statements.
Right now, the latest
we hear from the Belarusian KGB is that they prevented
the assassination of the main opposition figure Svetlana
Tikhanovskaya. Heck, this might even be true, considering
that the (clueless) Tikhanovskaya would make a perfect “sacrificial
lamb” (and an terrible politician, should she ever be elected). But this also looks like some interests inside the Belarusian KGB are
courting Tikhanovskaya. Both versions are equally bad, I think.
How serious is all
this?
Very!
There are already
(false) rumors spread by Polish media about Lukashenko having fled
Belarus in his aircraft. This rumor is clearly designed to
create the (wrong) impression that Lukashenko is the next Ianukovich:
while I equally dislike both of these men, Lukashenko is a much
tougher man than Ianukovich ever was.
Furthermore, the kind
of media-campaign waged now by the western, Polish and Ukie media is
unprecedented in its magnitude and it will be very hard for the
regime to regain control of the country.
As for Lukashenko, he
now seems to have reversed his tune somehow: after accusing Russia of
treating Belarus not as a brother, but as a partner, now he says that
he spoke to Putin and got a 5 page document explaining it all, and
now he says that Russia and Belarus will be brothers after all.
Not very convincing,
to say the least.
Quite logically,
Lukashenko’s popularity in Russia, which was never that high to
begin with, is now rapidly degrading and many analysts who, in the
past, praised Lukashenko for his (supposedly) “firm” policy
towards the West are now openly voicing their disgust. An
increasing number of Russians are now openly wondering with this
entire “supranational union state” concept. As for
Lukashenko’s much vaunted “multi-vector policies” they look
like a banal case of trying to sit between two chairs.
It now appears pretty
obvious that the leaders of the Empire stopped hating Lukashenko only
long enough to give a short lived and semi-credible appearance of
benevolence; now they are already talking about reintroducing
sanctions on Belarus and on Lukashenko personally.
This is all extremely
dangerous for Russia for the following reasons:
Lukashenko
is an absolutely terrible “our son of a bitch” (they always
are!) to back and his latest antics have shown the Kremlin that
Lukashenko is very much part of the problem, not of the solution.
If
Lukashenko remains in power, it will be only thanks to his (mostly
very effective) repressive apparatus which might be enough to
silence the opposition, but not enough to make Lukashenko truly
popular.
Lukashenko
himself is clearly both dishonest and unprincipled. He does
not care one bit about Russia (or Belarus for that matter), he cares
only about himself. In other words, as long as he remains in
power, Belarus will be a major concern for Russia.
If
Lukashenko is overthrown, be it by a KGB plot or a Maidan-like
violent insurrection, we can be pretty darn sure that whoever comes
to power will be 1) vetted by the USA and 2) rabidly anti-Russian.
Belarus does not
have much of an economic significance for Russia, but for security
and, even more so, military reasons Belarus is absolutely vital to
the Russian security
This last point needs
to be further clarified. Not only is Belarus located in a
strategically crucial location, the Belarussian armed forces are very
well trained and equipped (no comparison to the Ukie forces) and they
represent a major military asset for the Kremlin.
There are
also Russian forces deployed in Belarus*. Finally, the contacts
between the Belarusian and Russian military are very friendly and
very deep.To have NATO take over Belarus would truly be a
major problem for Russia (one that she can deal with, but it would
require a major re-thinking of the threat from the West).
So where do we go from
here?
It seems to me that if
Putin does “more of the same” Russia risks seriously losing
Belarus which, at a time when the Ukrainian Banderastan is falling
apart, would really be a crying shame. Right now, Russia needs
to contain the “Ukrainian infection” while, at the same time,
preparing an after-Lukashenko (before it is too late). Obviously, Lukashenko will not gracefully resign, so Russia needs to
find a tool in her toolkit to force him to do so.
Personally, I have
always believed that fully reincorporating Belarus into Russia would
not only solve the “Belarusian problem” but that it would also
solve the “Lukashenko problem”. I am confident that Russia
has more than enough influence and resources in Belarus to force a
change. Yes, that would be both difficult and dangerous, but
not doing so could result in a much worse outcome. Russia needs
to act. Quickly and resolutely.
