Genocide op ‘indianen’: 188 jaar geleden, keurde het VS congres de ‘Indian Removal Act’ goed………

Op
28 mei 1830 ging het congres akkoord met de ‘Indian Removal Act’ het begin
van heel veel ellende voor de oorspronkelijke volken van de VS…… Vooral het Cherokee volk werd getroffen door deze nieuwe wet
waarmee hen alles werd afgenomen en waarna ze onder schot gehouden
door het ook toen al terreurleger van de VS, gedwongen werden op een
lange tocht: ‘The Trail of Tears’, waarbij meer dan 2.000 van deze mensen
omkwamen…….

Het hooggerechtshof riep het geheel nog een halt toe, maar president Andrew Jackson zette de boel onder druk en de senaat ratificeerde het verdrag alsnog….

Destijds
was de genocide op de oorspronkelijke bewoners al een paar eeuwen
gaande en deze ‘Trail of Tears’ was een zoveelste zwarte bladzijde in
deze genocide en de geschiedenis van het gestolen land dat men megalomaan aanduidt als ‘Amerika’, ofwel een deel van de Amerika’s de VS………. Overigens is de genocide op de oorspronkelijke bevolking in de Amerika’s, de grootste die ooit werd uitgevoerd, zelfs die in de VS overtreft het aantal mensen die in de nazi-Duitse concentratiekampen werden vermoord……..

De gestolen gebieden werden voor een groot deel gebruikt voor de aanleg van plantages waar slaven het werk moesten doen……

On
this day in 1830, Congress passed “The Indian Removal Act” which
permitted the forceful and sometimes violent removal of Native
Americans from their homes, towns, villages and farms in the
Southeastern United States.

A
few years later, thousands of Cherokee landowners and landowners of
other nations were removed from their homes and farms by the State of
Georgia, held in prison camps and then sent on an 800 mile forced
march to Oklahoma which left at least 2,000 dead.

The
land was theirs.

A
fraudulent treaty had been foisted on them “agreeing” to a
one-sided deal in which they “traded” their prime agricultural
land – which they were farming expertly – for a reservation in
Oklahoma.

The
Cherokee people appealed to the Supreme Court which struck down the
bogus treaty as fraudulent.

Andrew
Jackson’s response: “John Marshall has made his decision; now let
him enforce it.”

15,000
militia descended on the region removing native people from their
homes at gunpoint and under threat of violence.

Speculators
pounced on the stolen land and turned it into an empire of
slavery-fueled plantations.

Rusland heeft geen aanval uitgevoerd op VS troepen in Syrië…..

Op 7 februari jl. zouden Syrische troepen, gesteund door Russische adviseurs en huurlingen een basis van de Syrische democratische strijdmacht (SDF, of Syrian Democratic Forces) hebben aangevallen. Het gaat hier om ‘een door de VS gesteunde basis’ waar zich ook VS militairen dan wel adviseurs zouden hebben opgehouden of (nog) ophouden. Met hulp van VS luchtstrijdkrachten werd de aanval afgeslagen……

Vreemd genoeg vielen aan de kant van de aanvallers meer dan 100 strijders, voornamelijk Russen en viel er aan de kant van de door de VS gesteunde strijders (SDF is een terreurorganisatie) en VS militairen niet één slachtoffer, iets dat totaal ongeloofwaardig is.

Darius Shahtahmasebi stelt na ophef in de VS, waar Rusland wordt beschuldigt van het willens en wetens aanvallen van VS militairen, dat Rusland niet van de partij was bij de aanval, daar het hier ging om huurlingen en ‘militaire aannemers’.

Voorts stelt Shahtahmasebi terecht dat Rusland nog steeds op volkomen legitieme basis aanwezig is in Syrië, dit in tegenstelling tot de VS. Daarnaast is het uiteraard een normale zaak dat het reguliere Syrische leger, illegaal bezet Syrisch gebied wil heroveren, zo stelt ook Shahtahmasebi.

Rusland heeft intussen contracten gesloten met de Syrische overheid over de winning van gas en olie, ook in het gebied waar de aanval plaats vond……….. Gezien dat feit zou het niet vreemd zijn te veronderstellen, dat de VS als een bok op de haverkist het gebied koste wat kost wil behouden ‘voor de SDF’ (ofwel voor zichzelf) en daarbij alle ‘vijanden’ zal afslachten, die maar in de buurt durven te komen van dit gebied…….

Eerder in 2017 heeft de VS zich ook al geroerd met aanvallen in dit gebied, toen hielp de VS de SDF met het veroveren van dit gebied en ‘om deze positie te verdedigen’ blijft de VS illegaal gestationeerd in dit gebied….. Shahtahmasebi stelt voorts dat wanneer Rusland een olierijk gebied in de VS illegaal zou bezetten en VS troepen zouden zich daartegen verzetten, niemand zou zeggen dat de Russen worden aangevallen (daar zij zich immers illegaal op het gebied van de VS zouden bevinden). Beetje vreemde redenering, daar een aanval nu eenmaal een aanval is, in wat voor omstandigheid dan ook, je spreekt in die gevallen van wel of niet gerechtvaardigd geweld en ja dan kan je ook spreken van (grootschalige) terreur als dit geweld niet gerechtvaardigd is, terreur waar de VS zich keer op keer schuldig aan maakt in Syrië, zoals ook weer in dit geval……

Dat de VS niets te zoeken heeft in Syrië is een feit, zeker als je ziet, dat de VS aan de wieg stond van IS, deze terreurgroep heeft vervoerd en vrije doorgang heeft verleend richting Syrië, waar de VS deze psychopaten ook nog eens deels heeft bewapend, terwijl de VS tegelijkertijd zogenaamd IS bestrijdt en ‘waarvoor de VS het nodig acht in Syrië te blijven……’ (zoals eerder gezegd: dit is vooral in het belang van de oliemaatschappijen in de VS…)

Jammer dat Shahtahmasebi daar geen aandacht aan besteed, zoals hij ook al niets zegt over het ontbreken van slachtoffers aan ‘VS zijde’, bij de hiervoor genoemde aanval..

In één ding heeft hij volkomen gelijk: Rusland heeft geen aanval geopend op de VS militairen. Alle acties van de VS tegen het reguliere Syrische leger en/of de Russen, zijn oorlogsmisdaden en daarmee grootschalige terreur! Je weet wel het soort terreur waar de westerse reguliere media en het grootste deel van de westerse politici zich niet druk om maken, dit gebeurd pas als VS terreur elders terreur uitlokt, zoals wraakacties in de straten van de EU……

(ANTIMEDIA Op-ed) — On
February 16, 2018, Bloomberg’s Eli
Lake published an
article entitled “Don’t Be Fooled: Russia Attacked U.S. Troops in
Syria.”

For
context, the U.S.-led coalition conducted
air and artillery strikes against
what was believed to be pro-government forces in Syria on February 7,
2018, in response to an “unprovoked attack” launched by these
pro-regime forces. Not long after, reports began
emerging that
significant numbers of Russian personnel were included in the over
100 dead and wounded, though Russia denied this at first. As
the evidence
began to mount,
the accepted version of events on both sides was that those involved
were Russian mercenaries and contractors, not official troops.

When
asked about the incident initially, U.S. Secretary of Defense James
Mattis said he
had “no
idea why they [pro-government forces] would attack there, the forces
were known to be there, obviously the Russians knew.”

“We
have always known that there are elements in this very complex battle
space that the Russians did not have, I would call it, control
of,” he
added.

In
response to this conundrum, Lake wrote:

“Now,
it should be said that Mattis, a retired four-star Marine Corps
general, is a very smart man. His perplexity in this case is probably
what Plato called a ‘noble lie,’ a falsehood spoken by a leader
to achieve a greater social good. If Mattis acknowledges the obvious
— that the Kremlin authorized a direct assault on a U.S.-sponsored
base by non-uniformed personnel — he risks an escalation spiral in
Syria. Better to express bewilderment and give Russian President
Vladimir Putin a chance to back down and deny culpability, which he
ended up doing despite the heavy casualties suffered by his
mercenaries.”

Lake
added:

“But
make no mistake: There is overwhelming evidence that those Russian
contractors were working at the behest of the Kremlin. What’s more,
the Russians knew U.S. military personnel were in Deir Ezzor, which
has been part of successive agreements to separate, or ‘deconflict,’
forces fighting in Syria.”

First,
if the Kremlin did actually give the go-ahead for the advancement of
troops in that particular area, it is already quite apparent that the
aim of the pro-government troops in question, including their Russian
component, was to try to seize a lucrative Syrian oil field in the
vicinity. CBS reported that
according to Pentagon officials, the Russians did, indeed, have their
sights on these oil fields. CNN also
reported this before it was made aware that the Syrian troops
involved Russian contractors.

Russia
was recently granted exclusive
rights over Syria’s oil and gas production, and Deir Ez-zor is
Syria’s most oil-rich region. So, with regard to the perplexity as
to why Syrian and/or Russian personnel would launch an offensive, the
reasoning is already well-known. The U.S. provided air cover for
Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) to retain a substantial portion of
this area in 2017 and retains
its military presence there in
order to enable SDF’s occupation to continue.

Second,
and most important, if Syrian forces, backed by Russian forces
(whether they are official troops or not), decide to launch an
offensive to retake one of its oil fields, it is not the U.S. that is
under the attack. The U.S. is an invading force that has been bombing
Syria since 2014 without legal justification and continues to
maintain an illegal military presence in order to carry out its
dangerous foreign policy agenda. It wouldn’t matter if the U.S. had
one troop on the ground in Syria and if Russia had ten thousand —
Russia’s presence has been sanctioned under international law and
America’s hasn’t.

Yes,
Russia knew U.S. personnel were in Deir Ez-zor. But that doesn’t
mean Russia and Syria should be barred from reclaiming the territory
under international law. If Russia had set up an illegal base in an
oil-rich part of the U.S. and American troops launched an offensive
with their allies to retake the territory, no one in their right mind
would try to suggest that Russian troops were subsequently under
attack. In fact, if this particular scenario were to play out, the
NATO charter
would require all
of America’s NATO allies to come to its aid against this
hypothetical Russian aggression.

It
doesn’t matter what one thinks of the Syrian government and the
various allegations against it. Even for the sake of argument, we
should assume that all of the allegations against Bashar al-Assad are
true. It doesn’t make a difference.

The
U.S. has attacked Syria, and it could be the case that Syria and its
allies want to drive them out, as is their right. That’s the only
way to properly view this issue if we want to maintain a workable
system of international mutual respect and cooperation. Right now,
there only appears to be one flawed system: the U.S. and its allies
doing whatever they like until they are eventually confronted by a
formidable adversary that possesses nuclear weapons.

Ongelofelijk: de VS, de grootste terreurentiteit op onze aarde, NB illegaal aanwezig op Syrisch grondgebied, heeft Syrische Assad getrouwe strijdgroepen* aangevallen nabij Khusham, ten oosten van de rivier de Eufraat en daarbij naar eigen zeggen meer dan 100 strijders vermoord…… Alweer een oorlogsmisdaad en in feite een terroristische aanval van enorme proporties op het conto van de VS…..

De aanval werd ingezet daar de strijders posities aanvielen van de Syrische Democratische Strijdkrachten (SDF ofwel Syrian Democratic Forces*), die een Syrisch gebied bezet houden waar ze eerder IS uit verdreven…… Het zou de strijders tegen de SDF om gaswinning gaan, aldus de VS…… ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ‘Zo de waard is…’, immers de VS is maar voor één zaak aanwezig in het Midden-Oosten, olie en gas! Oh nee, nu vergeet ik het behartigen van de Israëlische belangen, deze fascistische apartheidsstaat wil het Midden-Oosten opdelen in kleine stukken, zodat het zionistische geteisem de boel makkelijk onder de duim kan houden…….

Alsof het vreemd is dat een soevereine staat als Syrië haar eigen grondgebied wil beheren……

Vreemd dat de VS (van wie de straaljagers de aanval uitvoerden) Turkije niet aanvalt, het land dat nu al een paar weken lang de Koerdische YPG op Syrisch grondgebied aanvalt en daarbij een groot aantal slachtoffers heeft gemaakt (ook al een grove en grote oorlogsmisdaad), dezelfde YPG die volgens de VS deel uitmaakt van de SDF……. ‘Vreemd’ daar de VS (‘coalitie’) beweert dat de aanval uit zelfverdediging was, verdediging tegen de Assad getrouwe strijdgroepen……..

Nogmaals: hiermee wordt geheel ten overvoede aangetoond dat de VS niet in Syrië is om terreur te bestrijden (door gebruik van grootschalige terreur), maar om de democratisch gekozen regering Assad ten val te brengen…….

De VS zegt dat er geen van haar piloten, noch ‘militaire adviseurs’ (ofwel VS militairen) zijn omgekomen bij de gevechten…… ‘Militaire adviseurs’, zo probeert de VS nog enigszins te verhullen dat het met troepen in Syrië vecht…….

De zoveelste massamoord op naam van de VS en dat om terroristen te beschermen……….

Hoe lang kan de VS doorgaan met haar terreur voordat de wereld zegt: “Tot hier en niet verder!”

Het Internationaal Strafhof moet eindelijk de VS aanklagen voor alle begane oorlogsmisdaden!

*   Volgens Syrië gaat het om Syrische militairen, niet dat dit verder iets toevoegt aan deze barbaarse aanval…….

** De SDF wordt door de VS afgeschilderd als een ‘gematigde rebellengroep’, echter in werkelijkheid is het voor een fiks deel moorddadig tuig, dat al meermaals mensen heeft gemarteld, onthoofd en een waar schrikbewind voert in gebieden waar het de lakens uitdeelt……….

Het verborgen motief achter de Israëlische agressie tegen Iran en Syrië

Israël
onderhield goede banden met de in 1953 door de VS geparachuteerde
sjah van Perzië (Iran), dit na een door de VS opgezette staatsgreep tegen
de democratisch gekozen regering van premier Mossadegh….. In 1968
zetten de 2 landen een onderneming op poten, om zo Perzische olie te
transporteren naar Israël, dit daar het Suez Kanaal was geblokkeerd
door Egypte. Deze onderneming, de Eilat-Ashkelon Pijpleiding (EAPC),
was in feite een vervolg op de al lang door Perzië geleverde olie aan
Israël, al werd dat tot die tijd geheim gehouden, om spanningen tussen Perzië en arabische landen te vermijden……

Zo’n 10
jaar lang werd er Perziche (Iraanse) olie geleverd via deze
pijpleiding, waar de opbrengsten voor de sjah na de omwenteling van de Iraanse revolutie (1978-19790 in Israël bleven. Na
deze revolutie* erkende Israël het nieuwe bewind niet en werd het geld
dat Iran nog tegoed had, niet overgedragen aan dat bewind……..

Reden daarvoor: Israël
weigerde (en weigert nog steeds) de Iraanse tegoeden over te maken naar dat land, daar het
geen geld zou overmaken naar een vijandig land. De Zwitserse rechter
heeft daarover gezegd, dat niets de overmaking van het geld naar Iran
in de weg staat……

EAPC
bestaat nog steeds en de olie die door de (nieuwe) pijpleiding wordt
vervoerd, komt volgens deskundigen uit voormalige Sovjet staten,
echter daar is geen zekerheid over daar er een bij de wet afgedwongen
zwijgplicht bestaat….

De EAPC
bedrijfsvoering blijft geheim en is intussen bekend als de Europe
Asia Pipeline Co. Ofwel de ‘EAPC-B’, een bedrijf in handen van Israël. De
zwijgplicht over dit bedrijf is nog onlangs verlengd met 5 jaar, op
overtreding van de zwijgplicht staat een gevangenisstraf tot 15 jaar……

De
macht van Israël gaat ver over haar eigen grenzen, zo moest
journalist Nafeez Ahmed proefondervindelijk ervaren……. Een artikel van
deze journalist werd door The Guardian in juli 2014 gepubliceerd,
daarin schreef Ahmed dat de oorlog die Israël tegen de Gazastrook
voerde in 2014, alles te maken had met de enorme voorraad aardgas
voor de kust van de Gazastrook.

Ahmed
schreef in het blog, ‘Earth Insight’ van The Guardian over de link tussen
milieu en geopolitiek. Het bewuste artikel zorgde ervoor dat The
Guardian stopte met dit blog, onder het voorwendsel dat een aantal
artikelen van Ahmed op het blog niet in de lijn waren van de opzet die tot het opzetten van dit
blog hebben geleid…….. Dit terwijl het bewuste artikel op grote schaal werd
verspreid en gelezen. Ook heeft The Guardian nooit het artikel
teruggenomen, of genoemde zaken weersproken…….. Je snapt natuurlijk dat The Guardian handelde onder druk van Israël en de pro-Israëlische regering Cameron

Ahmed
had overigens ook over de oorzaak van de oorlog tegen Syrië
geschreven en terecht merkte hij op dat één van de hoofdoorzaken van de Israëlische agressie tegen dat land gelegen is in de
weigering van Syrië een gaspijpleiding over haar grondgebied toe
te staan……. Dit blokkeerde de wens van Israël om één van de grote spelers in de
‘gaswereld’ te worden…….

In
het volgende artikel wordt o.a. het volgende gesteld: iedereen die
zegt dat het oorlog zoeken door Israël niets van doen heeft met de
ambities van dit land op het gebied van olie en gas, liegt of is volkomen verkeerd geïnformeerd……

Forgotten Motive Behind Israel’s Warmongering in the Middle East

(ANTIMEDIA) — In
the over two decades that an American-installed puppet ruled over
Iran prior to the 1979 Islamic Revolution, Iran and Israel maintained
friendly ties. In 1968, the two countries set
up a joint venture known
as the Eilat-Ashkelon Pipeline Co. (EAPC) to transport Iranian oil to
the Mediterranean, primarily after Egypt blocked the
Suez Canal. This move hindered Iranian oil exports at the time. Iran
was already
supplying Israel
with the bulk of its oil prior to the formation of EAPC but did so
secretly to avoid tension with the Arab world.

For
about a decade, the pipeline carried Iranian oil from the Red Sea for
export to Europe. Following the fall of Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi in
1979, the Iranian leadership has been demanding their share of
revenue and assets that remained in Israel, no longer a country
recognized by the Islamic Republic.

According
to Business Insider, no one knows how much profit the
EAPC has made or how much it is worth because it is protected in a
similar way to Israel’s intelligence agencies through the use of
gag orders. The source of its oil, while suspected to be mainly from
former Soviet states, is also protected by the gag orders.
Even Business Insider’s report states that the
article had to pass through the military censor prior to publishing.
However, we do know that the EAPC has reportedly become the largest
distributor of oil in Israel with ambitions to become a major hub in
the Mediterranean.

In
1994, Iran began pursuing an arbitration case against Israel, first
in France and then in Switzerland. In 2016, the Swiss court handling
the matter determined that
the Israeli government owed Iran $260,000 for oil sent to Israel
prior to the fall of the Shah in 1979 as part of a wider $1.2 billion
owed to Iran (plus
interest).
Israel was also required to pay Iran’s legal fees of $208,000.
Israel denied it was required to send money to an “enemy country,”
but given that sanctions against Iran were supposed to have been
lifted under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in 2015,
the Swiss Court also ruled there were no legal obstacles preventing
Israel from sending payment to Iran.

Now,
the EAPC will continue
to operate secretly following
an Israeli parliamentary committee ruling at the end of December. It
is now known as the Europe Asia Pipeline Co. (EAPC-B), a company
owned by the Israeli government. The gag order protecting the
pipeline has been extended five more years, and breaches of the gag
order can incur a 15-year
jail sentence.

Israel’s
ability to punish people who document its energy-related ambitions
far exceeds the power of a domestic gag order. In July 2014,
the Guardian published journalist
Nafeez Ahmed’s blog, which claimed Israel’s brutal assault on
Gaza at the time was rooted in a desire to control Palestinian gas.
The Guardian axed
his blog not long after and released
the following statement:

“Nafeez
Ahmed is a freelance journalist who self-published blog posts on our
environment blogging network for just over a year as a regular
contributor. He has never been on
the staff of the Guardian. His Guardian blog – Earth
Insight –
was
about the link between the environment and geopolitics, but we took
the decision to end the blog when a number of his posts on a range of
subjects strayed too far from this brief.”

As
journalist Jonathan Cook explained,
the Guardian’s motives
were all too apparent:

“Interestingly,
Ahmed’s article went viral, becoming the most shared of any of the
paper’s stories on Operation Protective Shield. But readers appear
to have had better news judgment than the Guardian’s editors.
Rather than congratulate him, the Guardian effectively fired Ahmed,
as he details in the link below. No one has suggested that there were
errors in the story, and no correction has been appended to the
article.”

Ahmed
also wrote in the Guardian on
a separate occasion detailing how the Syrian war was
also similarly fueled
by a natural gas pipeline dispute,
which undoubtedly also affected Israel in its bid to become
a major player in the gas industry.

Israel
barely has enough
energy resources of
its own to maintain even 50 percent of its exports. In 2000, there
was a discovery of 1.4 trillion cubic feet of natural gas off the
Gaza coast, valued at $4 billion. Israel also later made
other monumental
discoveries of
gas in Syria and Lebanon, as well, two known adversaries of the
Israeli government. Israel is eager to
intervene in both
countries (for
completely unrelated reasons, of course).

Anyone
who tells you that natural resources like oil and gas do not play
into Israel’s regional ambitions is either lying to you or grossly

to revive a century-old railway to connect the country to the wider
Middle East – including Saudi Arabia – with the intention of
outmaneuvering Iran and creating a fully-fledged anti-Iran axis based
solely on trade.

Clearly,
Israel’s infatuation with Iran has little to do
with baseless claims
about Iran’s non-existent nuclear weapons and everything to do with
money and resources. Israel was happy to do business with a brutal
Iranian dictator some decades ago, only to pretend
to care about human rights now
when Iranians take to the streets to protest an equally questionable
regime.

Let’s
call a spade a spade and recognize pipeline
politics for
what it is – the driving force behind the current
regional standoff plaguing
the Middle East and beyond.

In
Nieuw-Zeeland zijn wetten aangenomen waarmee de natuur echt beschermd wordt, met de aanname van de laatste heeft een slapende vulkaan dezelfde rechten gekregen als levende personen. Het gaat hier om de Mount Taranaki, een voor de Maori’s heilige berg, die ze als hun voorouder zien en als familielid.

Dit is de derde keer dat een voor de Maori’s heilig gebied
de status van een levend persoon heeft gekregen, eerder gebeurde dit
met een groot natuurgebied en een lange rivier…..

Zie het
verschil met de VS, waar de voorouders van een deel van de huidige witte bewoners de oorspronkelijke volken (aangeduid als ‘indianen’) bijna
hebben uitgemoord en die samen met deze zelfde massamoorden in Midden-
en Zuid-Amerika (in de loop van een paar honderd jaar), heeft geleid tot de grootste genocide, die de
aarde ooit heeft gezien…..

Wat betreft de VS en Canada werden deze
volkeren in de loop van de geschiedenis diverse gebieden
toegewezen, waar ze zich ook nog onder dwang moesten huisvesten,
echter zo gauw de witte ‘christelijke’ overheersers economisch gewin in die gebieden
zagen, werden de stammen die daar woonden weer weggejaagd dan wel vermoord……

Zelfs
heden ten dage hebben deze mensen totaal geen bescherming tegen de
kapitalistisch neoliberale verniel- en hebzucht, zoals we zagen bij de aanleg van de Dakota Access
Pipeline (DAPL.) en de Keystone XL pijpleiding, dwars door de gebieden en onder/over de rivieren van deze volkeren….. Deze oliepijpleidingen gaan zonder enige
twijfel lekken, zoals al die pijpleidingen doen in de VS* (en elders) en daarmee
zal een groot gebied inclusief een rivier van o.a. het Sioux volk zwaar worden vervuild……… Hetzelfde gebeurt overigens in Zuid-Amerika……

Tijd dat
de hele overgebleven natuurvolkeren en natuurgebieden op onze kleine aarde zo worden benaderd als men in Nieuw-Zeeland voor de Maori’s doet, zodat we
eindelijk eens echt kunnen werken aan natuurbehoud, i.p.v. alles naar
de kloten te helpen, zoals helaas nu nog steeds gebeurt…… (en dat voor fossiele brandstoffen, die bij verbranding een enorme milieuvervuiling veroorzaken en ons klimaat naar de gallemiezen helpt…..)

New
Zealand Grants Mountain the Same Legal Rights as a Person

(ANTIMEDIA) — New
Zealand just granted a mountain the same legal rights as a person,
the Guardian reports.
Located in New Zealand’s North Island, Mount Taranaki will be the
third geographic landmark in the country to be deemed a “legal
personality.”

Mount
Taranaki is
120,000 years old and is also a dormant volcano that last erupted in
1775. Under the new designation, if a person or entity brings harm to
the mountain, the legal rights protecting the mountain will be the
same afforded to an ordinary individual. The move also entails that
the land “owns itself” and cannot be owned by another human.

From the New
Zealand Herald:

Guardianship
of the sacred mountain will be shared between eight local Maori
tribes (New Zealand’s indigenous population) and the government.
The decision is a long-awaited acknowledgment of the indigenous
people’s relationship with the mountain. They view it as an
ancestor and family member.

“All
Crown-owned land within the National Park will be vested in a legal
personality, meaning the land will own itself – a special legal
status that has previously been granted to Te Urewera and the
Whanganui River.

“The
concept was considered groundbreaking and was used to neutralise the
controversial issue of ownership. Instead of human ownership over the
environment, it embraces the Maori relationship with the land and
recognises its cultural and spiritual significance.”

The
acknowledgment was made through a record of understanding, which was
signed last week. The record of understanding also noted that
the mountain is an ever-present and personified ancestor that
“transcend[s] our perception of time, location, culture and
spirit.“

“Their
presence pervades our scenery, projecting mystery, adventure and
beauty, capturing our attention and our imagination in how humanity
can be closely bound to a landscape,” it
stated.

According
to Andrew Little, New Zealand’s minister for treaty negotiations
(in this case, the Treaty
of Waitangi),
Mount Taranaki will now become a “legal personality in its own
right,” offering the “best possible protection” for the
increasingly popular tourist attraction.

“As
a New Plymouth local I grew up under the gaze of the maunga
[mountain] so I’m particularly pleased with the respect accorded to
local tangata whenua [local people] and the legal protection and
personality given to the mountain,” Little
said.

“Today’s
agreements are a major milestone in acknowledging the grievances and
hurt from the past as the Taranaki iwi experienced some of the worst
examples of Crown behaviour in the 19th century.”

One
of the more successful aspects of the development is that as part of
the agreement, the New Zealand government is required to apologize to
local Maori for the previous breaches of the Treaty of Waitangi it
has made against the mountain. However, local tribes will not receive
any monetary redress as compensation.

The
recent move follows a Waitangi Tribunal report from 1996 that said
there was no valid basis for the government’s confiscation of the
Mountain from the Maori in the first place.

“It
[Mt Taranaki] provides that sense of place, social association and
identity,” Taranaki
Iwi’s (Tribe) Chief Negotiator, Jamie Tuuta, told Fairfax media.

Earlier
this year, New Zealand granted the
90-mile Whanganui River the same legal rights as a person in a
similar move. India followed suit
not long after. New Zealand also granted similar rights to a national
park known
as Te Urewera.

“We
can trace our genealogy to the origins of the universe, and
therefore, rather than us being masters of the natural world, we are
part of it,” stated
Gerrard Albert, who negotiated legal personhood for the Whanganui
river.

Missing
from the discussion on this issue is that the New Zealand government
will retain guardianship of the mountain — the same New Zealand
government that is working to cement the Trans-Pacific Partnership
Agreement (TPPA) with full
knowledge that
many Maori claimants view the agreement as detrimental to their
native rights.

Despite
its positive implications, also missing from this topic is the notion
of where such a move will lead the human race in the years to come,
particularly in relation to artificial intelligence (AI). Saudi
Arabia recently granted citizenship status to a robot,
and it is not too farfetched to assume that in the very near future
we will be seeing legal protection afforded to more than just our
sacred mountains and rivers.

Nadat eerder al de Dakota Acces Pipeline (DAPL) op meerdere plekken olie heeft gelekt, bracht Anti-Media afgelopen donderdag bekend, dat eenzelfde soort pijpleiding, de Keystone XL (pipeline) een grote hoeveelheid olie heeft gelekt en daarom werd afgesloten…… Overigens zijn deze 2 lekken bepaald niet op zich staande ‘ongelukken’ >> uiteraard geen ongelukken, daar men van te voren al weet, dat er lekken zullen ontstaan…. In het Anti-Media artikel hieronder vindt u een link naar nog een ander lek dat in 2017 ontstond, voor het grote aantal olielekkages uit VS oliepijpleidingen klik op deze link.

Vandaar ook het grote verzet tegen deze pijpleidingen, die zelfs tegen de afspraken die werden gemaakt met de oorspronkelijke bevolking van de VS (‘indianen’), worden aangelegd over hun grond en onder hun wateren, die veelal als heilig worden gezien…… Deze stammen zouden zeggenschap hebben over de aan hen in het verleden toegewezen gronden, behalve dan als dit het grootkapitaal en daarmee de zittende regering van de VS niet uitkomt…….. (zo zette ‘vredesduif’ Obama een streep door de eerder genoemde pijpleidingen*, maar pas na enorme protesten en niet lang voordat zijn tweede termijn was afgelopen…)

Onder het eerste artikel van Anti-Media, nog een artikel van dit alternatieve mediaorgaan, waarin wordt gemeld dat de commissie in Nebraska die gaat over de aanleg van de Keystone XL (pipeline) over het grondgebied van Nebraska, geen boodschap heeft aan dit enorme lek en daar geen rekening mee zal houden bij de te nemen beslissing…..

Sterker nog: men mag bij de beslissing daarover geen rekening houden met eventuele lekken in de toekomst, daarvoor werd in 2011 een wet aangenomen…….. Ofwel: de oliemaffia heeft macht over de volksvertegenwoordiging (die in de VS al helemaal niet zo genoemd mag worden, immers het presidentschap en andere politieke functies zijn weggelegd voor degenen die het meeste geld in de verkiezingscampagne kunnen steken, of anders zijn weggelegd voor mensen met machtige, welgestelde vrienden…..)…….

Morgen wordt in Nebraska een beslissing genomen over de Keystone pijpleiding en gezien het voorgaande, is het wel zeker dat die toestemming er komt, ondanks de lekken in de huidige Keystone pijpleiding (nummer 1), die eerder al in gebruik werd genomen en alle andere lekken in pijpleidingen in de VS en elders…….

Ondertussen worden vreedzame demonstranten tegen deze pijpleidingen in de VS gezien als terroristen, de wereld op z’n kop! (immers toestemming geven voor en het willens en wetens enorme hoeveelheden olie laten weglekken via deze pijpleidingen, is pas een echte enorme daad van terreur!!)

Met deze zaken krijgen wij ook te maken door de vrijhandelsverdragen CETA en TTIP, wat betreft de laatste: TTIP, als deze wordt goedgekeurd in de VS…… Trump stelde dit soort verdragen niet te willen en sinds zijn aantreden lobbyt de EU al in Washington, om ajb de handtekening van Trump te verkrijgen….. En dan wil men u wijsmaken dat we niet zonder de EU kunnen……..

Keystone Pipeline Shut down After Leaking 210,000 Gallons of Oil

The
contentious Keystone Pipeline has been temporarily shut down after a
210,000-gallon oil leak was discovered in South Dakota.

According
to local ABC
News affiliate KSFY:

“Brian
Walsh with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) tells
KSFY News they were alerted to the leak at 10:30 a.m. Thursday
morning by TransCanada.

“The
leak was in the Keystone Pipeline located in an agricultural area in
Marshall County. There have been no reports of the oil entering any
waterways or water systems at this time.

“Walsh
said 5,000 barrels of oil have leaked, and at 42 gallons a barrel,
that totals 210,000 gallons of oil.

“The
pipeline has been shut off and the leak has been covered. An
emergency response plan has been activated to get more staff and
contractors to the site for clean up.”

The
Keystone Pipeline, which carries crude oil from Canada’s tar sands
to American refineries, has been a source of contention for years and
was suspended under
the Obama administration. One of President Trump’s first acts in
office was authorizing the construction of both the Keystone and
Dakota Access pipelines.

Environmentalists
and Native American groups in the U.S. and Canada opposed both
projects. The recently completed Dakota Access
Pipeline also experienced
a leak, albeit a smaller one, earlier
this year, joining numerous other pipelines across
the country that have had spills in
2017.

Panel Won’t Consider This Week’s Spill in Keystone XL Pipeline

“That
the Nebraska commissioners won’t consider safety in their decision
on Keystone XL should alarm everyone.”

(COMMONDREAMS) — Climate
justice groups and local pipeline opponents in Nebraska are
condemning an announcement by the state’s Public Service Commission
(PSC) which indicated late Friday that a
massive underground spill of the existing Keystone pipeline in
South Dakota this week will have no bearing on a pivotal approval
decision to build the Keystone XL pipeline scheduled for Monday.

PSC spokesperson Deb Collins, citing a state law passed in 2011 which prevents the commission from factoring pipeline safety or the possibility of leaks into its decisions, said the panel’s decision “will be based on the evidence in the record.”

Local opponents of the project, as the Lincoln Journal Star notes, were “incensed” by the announcement.

“There is a reason TransCanada and the big oil lobby did not want this information on the record,” said Jane Kleeb, director of the Bold Alliance, a coalition of state-level groups that have opposed the Keystone XL for nearly a decade.

“That the Nebraska commissioners won’t consider safety in their decision on Keystone XL should alarm everyone,” said Sara Shor, a spokesperson for 350.org, one of the key national opponents of the pipeline. “This spill puts an exclamation point on the need to reject Keystone XL, but it doesn’t tell us anything we didn’t already know about pipelines. They spill, and if Keystone XL is built, we can only expect more of the world’s dirtiest oil spewing across farms, treaty lands, and throughout the Great Plains.”

Kelly Martin, the Beyond Dirty Fuels campaign director at the Sierra Club, added, “We’ve always said it’s not a question of whether a pipeline will spill, but when, and today TransCanada is making our case for us. This is not the first time TransCanada’s pipeline has spilled toxic tar sands, and it won’t be the last.

The PSC must take note: there is no such thing as a safe tar sands pipeline, and the only way to protect Nebraska communities from more tar sands spills is to say no to Keystone XL.”

Echoing a message shared by the many groups—local, nation, and international—350.org’s Shor says this week’s spill is just the most recent proof that a move away from fossil fuel and towards renewable, less damaging energy energy is urgently needed.

“We
need a transition to a renewable energy future that doesn’t pollute
our communities and wreck our climate,” she said. “If the PSC
truly has Nebraska’s interests at heart, they’ll reject Keystone
XL.”

In
newspapers across Nebraska over the weekend, Kleeb’s group is
placing full-page ads against the pipeline and urging people to
attend a rally
outisde the PSC hearing on Monday.

Op 22 september jl. ontving ik van Rainforest Action Network (RAN) voor de tweede keer een petitie* waarin grote banken worden opgeroepen niet langer klimaatrampen** te financieren, dit middels de financiering van: -fossiele brandstofwinning, -de winning van mineralen, -winning van goud, -coltan (dat weer mineralen bevat) e.d. Belangrijk genoeg deze oproep nog eens te herhalen.

Op 24 oktober is er een bijeenkomst van de grote banken in Brazilië, waar men zal spreken over de Equator Principles, principes waaraan de aangesloten banken zich dienen te houden en waarbij ze beloven geen schade of zo min mogelijk schade aan te richten op het gebied van milieu en klimaat, daarnaast zou e.e.a. niet ten koste mogen gaan van de arbeiders en het leefgebied van oorspronkelijke bevolkingsgroepen (neem de Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL).

Na alle berichtgeving over oorspronkelijke bewoners van het Braziliaanse Amazonewoud, die worden verjaagd en vermoord, t.b.v. grond om soja te verbouwen, of voor het winnen van mineralen en andere grondstoffen, is het duidelijk dat de grote banken lak hebben aan deze Equator Principles…… Ook bij het eerdere voorbeeld, de DAPL, waren grote banken de financiers, waaronder zelfs het Nederlandse ING (dat zich pas na heel veel druk terugtrok uit dit onzalige project….)….

In
30 days, more than 90 of the world’s largest banks will meet in
Brazil to recommit to the Equator Principles, a set of rules guiding
which big infrastructure projects they will and won’t
finance.1

“Equator Banks” have promised
to avoid or minimize the social, environmental and climate impacts of
such projects, and to respect the rights and interests of Indigenous
communities affected by them.2 But they haven’t kept
their word.

  • The
    Dakota Access Pipeline was financed by banks signed on to the
    Equator Principles even though it was built to pump tar sands, the
    dirtiest oil on earth, and was fiercely opposed by the Standing Rock
    Sioux and Cheyenne River Lakota Tribes for threatening their water
    sources.3

  • The
    Honduran Agua Zarca hydro project, where Indigenous leader Berta
    Cáceres was murdered for leading Indigenous resistance to the
    project, also passed the
    ‘Equator test’ of FMO bank as a project supposedly respecting
    the rights of the Lenca communities    .4

These
are just a couple examples of projects financed by banks under the
Equator Principles that are resisted by Indigenous communities. All
over the world, Equator banks also continue to finance new coal power
plants that will further add to climate disruption.

VS centraal commando werkt in Syrië samen met IS en verklaarde Rusland de oorlog………

Afgelopen zondag werden 3 hoge Russische officieren in het oosten van Syrië vermoord bij ‘een aanval van IS……’ Deze officieren werden ofwel vermoord door speciale troepen van de VS, dan wel middels een door de VS gecontroleerde terreurgroep……. Deze moord kan gezien worden als een oorlogsverklaring van het centrale commando van de VS in Syrië…….

De VS wil de olievelden in oostelijk Syrië onder beheer brengen bij de Koerden, door een Koerdische ministaat in te richten, een ‘staat’ die uiteraard gecontroleerd zal worden door de VS…… Echter Syrië heeft alle belang bij deze olievelden, dit om de enorme schade te herstellen die is aangericht in de door de VS opgezette illegale oorlog tegen de democratische gekozen regering Assad….. Ter verduidelijking: de VS was al vanaf 2006 met de voorbereidingen bezig >> eerst een opstand organiseren die moest uitmonden in een staatsgreep tegen de regering Assad…… Echter hier liep het anders dan in Oekraïne, waar de VS dezelfde ‘tactiek’ volgde en daar wel succes mee had…..

Vorige week veroordeelde Rusland de VS voor het samenwerken met Al Qaida in de provincie Idlib*, afgelopen zondag beschuldigde Rusland de VS zelfs van het samenwerken met IS en gaf daar de bewijzen voor……

Voor de zoveelste keer is dus bewezen dat de VS enorme terreur uitoefent en niet alleen terreurgroepen bewapent en traint, maar nu zelfs met hen meevecht…… Niet alleen dat, maar de VS werkt nu zelfs samen met  de door haar bewapende psychopathische terroristen……..

Hoe lang kunnen de reguliere westerse (massa-) media en het grootste deel van de westerse politici de VS, ofwel de grootste terreurentiteit op aarde, blijven steunen door het fabriceren van doorzichtige leugens, of door het herhalen van leugens van de CIA en het Pentagon..??!!! (terwijl men de vuilbek vol heeft met beschuldigingen over nepnieuws, of ‘fake news’, gebracht door de alternatieve media…….)

Clearing House” –  Yesterday three high ranking Russian
officers were killed in an “ISIS attack” in eastern-Syrian.
It is likely that they were killed by U.S. special forces or
insurgents under U.S. special forces control. The incident will be
understood as a declaration of war.

The
U.S. Central Command in the Middle East wants the oil fields in
east-Syria under control of its proxy forces to set up and control a
U.S. aligned Kurdish mini-state in the area. The Syrian government,
allied with Russia, needs the revenues of the oil fields to rebuild
the country.

Last
week the Russians issued sharply
worded statements against
U.S. coordination with al-Qaeda terrorists in Idleb province and
warned of further escalation.


Yesterday
the Russian Ministry of Defense accused the
U.S. military in east-Syria of direct collaboration with the Islamic
State:

US
Army special units provide free passage for the Syrian Democratic
Forces (SDF) through the battle formations of Islamic State (IS,
formerly ISIS/ISIL) terrorists, the ministry said in a statement.

“Facing
no resistance of the ISIS militants, the SDF units are advancing
along the left shore of the Euphrates towards Deir ez-Zor,” the
statement reads.

The
newly released images “clearly show that US special ops are
stationed at the outposts previously set up by ISIS militants.”

“Despite
that the US strongholds being located in the ISIS areas, no screening
patrol has been organized at them,” the Russian Ministry of Defense
said.

The
accusations are plausible. Large parts of ISIS in Deir Ezzor consist
of local tribal forces from eastern-Syria. U.S. special envoy Brett
McGurk recently met tribal leaders who had earlier pledged allegiance
to ISIS. Deals were made. As we wrote:

U.S. diplomat tasked with the job, Brett McGurk**, recently
met with
local tribal dignitaries of the area. Pictures of the meeting were
published. Several people pointed
out that
the very same dignitaries were earlier pictured swearing allegiance
to the Islamic State.

Just
like during the “Anbar Awaking” in its war on Iraq the U.S.
is bribing the local radicals to temporarily change over to its side.
This will help the U.S. to claim that it defeated ISIS. But as soon
as the payments stop the very same forces will revert back to their
old game.

The
local criminal Ahmad
Abu Khawla,
who had earlier fought for ISIS, was suddenly installed
as commander of
a newly invented “Deir Ezzor Military Council”, set up
under U.S. special force control.

Last
night a Russian three-star general and two colonels were killed in
a mortar attack while they visited a Syrian army headquarter in Deir
Ezzor:

Valery Asapov, of the Russian armed forces, has been killed after
coming under shelling from Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL)
militants near Deir ez-Zor, the Russian Defense Ministry has
announced.

In
its statement, the ministry said that Asapov was at a command outpost
manned by Syrian troops, assisting commanders in the liberation of
the city of Deir ez-Zor.

Lieutenant-General Valery
Asapov is the highest-ranking Russian officer to be killed in the
Syrian campaign. He was a commander of the 5th Army in Russia’s
Eastern Military District, one of the four strategic commands in the
Russian Armed Forces. The army is based in Russia’s Far East, in
the city of Ussuriysk, some 98 km (61 miles) from Vladivostok.

For
three years ISIS had besieged Syrian troops in Deir Ezzor city and
its airport. It had not once managed to successfully attack the
Syrian headquarter or to kill high ranking officers. Now, as U.S.
proxy forces “advised” by U.S. special forces, have taken
position north of Deir Ezzor, “ISIS” suddenly has the
intelligence data and precision mortar capabilities to kill a bunch
of visiting Russian officers?

That
is not plausible. No one in Damascus, Baghdad, Tehran or Moscow will
believe that.

The
Russian military, as usual, reacts calmly and officially attributes
the attack to ISIS. Doing so avoids pressure to immediately react to
the attack. (The U.S. will falsely interpret this as a face-saving
Russian retreat.) 

But
no one in Moscow will believe that the incident is independent of
other recent maneuvers by the U.S. forces and independent of the
earlier accusations the Russian military made against the U.S.
forces.

Nominally
the U.S. and Russia are both in Syria to fight the Islamic State. The
Russian troops are legitimately there, having been invited by the
Syrian government. The U.S. forces have no legal justification for
their presence. So far open hostilities between the two sides had
been avoided. But as the U.S. now obviously sets out to split Syria
apart, openly cooperates with terrorists and does not even refrain
from killing Russian officers, the gloves will have to come off.

U.S.
Central Command has declared war on the Russian contingent in Syria.
A high ranking Russian general was killed. This inevitably requires a
reaction. The response does not necessarily have to come from Russian
forces.  Moscow has many capable allies in the area. The
response does not necessarily have to come in Syria.

“Accidents”
and “incidents”, like an “ISIS mortar attacks”,
or unintentional bombing of troop concentration of the other side,
can happen on both sides of the front. Cars can blow up, bridges can
collapse. Any U.S. officer or civilian official in the larger Middle
East should be aware that they too are now targets.

Vandaag is het ‘Earth Overshoot Day’ (ook wel: Ecological Debt Day), dit betekent dat de mens vandaag al net zoveel aan grondstoffen en voedsel e.d. heeft gebruikt, als de aarde in 1 jaar tijd kan leveren en aan afvalstoffen kan verwerken……

Jan Jonker, hoogleraar aan de Radbout Universiteit, sprak hierover op op BNR (rond 8.50 u.). Uitermate schunnig is het feit, dat wat betreft Nederland deze dag al op 18 april van dit jaar was bereikt……..

En nog deed en doet de demissionaire regering Rutte 2, veel en veel te weinig om het tij te keren….. Ach ja, wie dan leeft (als de boel hier totaal verkankerd is) wie dan zorgt…….

BP doet het weer: olieboringen nabij een kwetsbaar zeegebied, wat maakt ‘t tenslotte uit als je een mooi rif grondig vernielt?

Ontving eergisteren een bericht van Greenpeace (GB), waarin wordt gemeld dat BP van zins is te gaan boren naar olie in de monding van de Amazonerivier (Brazilië). Dit dicht in de buurt van een nog niet lang geleden ontdekt rif, waar o.a. 60 soorten zeesponzen zijn te vinden.

In
het koraalrif ontdekten wetenschappers talloze kleurrijke
koraalsoorten, 60 soorten sponzen, 73 vissoorten, kreeftachtigen en
zeesterren.

De kans dat er iets mis zou gaan in de Golf van Mexico werd door BP verwaarloosbaar geacht en toch werd daar onder verantwoording van BP een gigantische olieramp veroorzaakt, die het ook daar kwetsbare gebied voor een groot deel heeft vernield en voor tientallen jaren zwaar heeft vervuild……..

De
olieboringen vormen een gevaar voor de zeedieren die leven in de
monding van de Amazone. De bedreigde zeekoe is één van hen.


Greenpeace vraagt een video van Sponge Bob zoveel mogelijk te verspreiden, Greenpeace heeft die video toegevoegd aan haar verontrustende bericht. Voorts kan u een petitie tekenen, lees deze en teken a.u.b., geeft ook dat door!!

Overigens, ook Total is van plan te gaan boren in hetzelfde gebied……

pristine Amazon Reef. What
could possibly go wrong?

Home
to pink corals, sunset-coloured fish and over 60 species of sea
sponge, the Reef has been described as an
‘underwater rainforest’ near the mouth of the Amazon River –
and we’re only just discovering how special it is.

But
if BP’s extreme drilling causes a spill, it could spell disaster
for the Reef and the wider area. We can’t let this happen.

So
starting today, we’re
turning up the pressure on BP –
working together to defend the Reef from risky, spill-prone oil
drilling.

And
now we’ve got some help from an unlikely source. The
Amazon Reef has a new champion –
a celebrity advocate who’ll stand up to BP and fight for
justice.

His
name? Spongebob
