Brazilie: de VS coup is geslaagd, Temer gaat het volk 20 jaar lang uitnemen……. Financiële maffia dolblij……

De VS coup tegen de democratisch gekozen Braziliaanse regering Dilma Rousseff is gelukt. Nu draait de corrupte misdadiger Temer het volk voor 20 jaar de duimschroeven aan…….. Neoliberalisme in optima forma, de financiële maffia is dik tevreden! Intussen zijn een aantal van de regeringsleden van Temer gepakt op corruptie en andere fraude, dat blijkt geen reden tot afzetting te zijn……….

Het volgende interview gepubliceerd op The Real News Network, van 15 december 2016, vond ik op Information Clearing House (ICH), onder de volgende tekst:

Rousseff

Temer is rewarding the banks and financial investors for backing the
legislative coup, says SOAS Professor Alfredo Saad-Filho

SHARMINI
PERIES: It’s The Real News Network. I’m Sharmini Peries, coming to
you from Baltimore. On Thursday, Brazil’s President, Michel Temer,
signed a constitutional amendment that will limit fiscal spending
over the next 20 years. The measure is highly controversial and has
sparked protests throughout the country over the last few weeks.
Critics say that the amendment commits Brazil to austerity for the
next 20 years by limiting spending regardless of population or GDP
growth. Spending increases are only connected to inflation growth.
According to a recent poll, only 24% of the population supported and
60% are opposed to it. Many also view President Temer as being
illegitimate since he came into office through a legislative coup.
That was when Workers Party President Dilma Rousseff was ousted on
accusations of having committed administrative irregularities.

Joining
us now from London to discuss this is Alfredo Saad-Filho. Alfredo is
a Professor of Political Economy at the School of Oriental and
African Studies, the University of London, and was a Senior Economic
Affairs Officer at the United Nations Conference on Trade and
Development. Alfredo, thank you so much for joining us today.

ALFREDO
SAAD-FILHO: Thank you very much for having me.

SHARMINI
PERIES: Alfredo, let’s start by giving us some detail of the
constitutional amendment that Brazil is now implementing, that’s been
approved after being afloat for a few weeks now. What will it do?

ALFREDO
SAAD-FILHO: This constitutional amendment, as you explained in your
introduction, limits government spending in all areas by the Federal
Executive, by the Legislature and the judicial system to spending
this current year plus the rate of inflation for the next 20 years.
This is what it is intended to do: the idea is to limit the
government deficit and to provide credibility to economic policy in
Brazil.

SHARMINI
PERIES: Now, there’s been some controversy or reports that this is
also about social spending, that it freezes social spending
regardless of GDP growth. Is that the case, and what impact will it
have if it is?

ALFREDO
SAAD-FILHO: This is exactly what it does. Social spending is the area
of the government budget that has been growing the fastest because
Brazil is a country that is aging very rapidly. Population growth has
stalled for the last 20 years or so, so the population is getting
older, and demands on the social security system have been
increasing. Which is also a peculiarity of the Brazilian
Constitution, that it is very progressive in the social realm. It has
a very… a good social charter providing education, universal
education, providing a universal health system. And this is
incompatible with the now liberal economic policies that this
administration is trying to implement. And in the attempt to break
this impasse, the government has blamed the fiscal deficit on social
spending and tried to limit the spending of the government as a whole
as a way to stall the growth, suspend the growth, of public education
and public health in Brazil.

SHARMINI
PERIES: Now, why would the Temer government, who is in a very tenuous
position as far as popularity is concerned, particularly given that
he was not elected — and a measure being introduced here and passed
now is also very unpopular — why would he be throwing himself into
such a vulnerability as far as what’s happening on the streets and so
on, if he is looking like he wants to remain the president here?

ALFREDO
SAAD-FILHO: Because this is what they were trying to achieve by
removing President Rousseff from office: trying to shift economic
policy in Brazil towards neo-liberalism. You will notice that what is
not included in the ceiling for fiscal spending is the interest that
is paid on the domestic public debt. So the banks are protected —
the financial investors are protected — but the retirees, but the
people who have illnesses, but the children in the public school
system, they are not protected, and their services will be limited,
so that the government should have enough money to pay the banks.
This is exactly what is happening in Brazil at the moment, which is a
political priority and President Temer is paying those who supported
him.

SHARMINI
PERIES: And the other question is why was this done through a
constitutional amendment, rather than a piece of legislation?

ALFREDO
SAAD-FILHO: Because the public expenditure in health and education
and the public pensions paid by the State, they are all set in the
Constitution. So you would need something of that legal status in
order to limit those outlays.

SHARMINI
PERIES: All right, then the people are protesting on the streets.
What do you think the short-term and the long-term effects of this
measure will be on Brazilians?

ALFREDO
SAAD-FILHO: In the long term, evidently it’s a decline of the size of
the State. You will notice the absurdity. The education budget is 33
billion reals at the moment. The health budget is 94 billion reals.
The total fiscal deficit is 170 billion reals. But the government
provides in subsidy each year 200 billion reals. So subsidies for
large companies, subsidies for entrepreneurs are fine. The payment of
the interest on the domestic debt of the government, that is about 7%
of GDP — that is fine. But education and health, they have to be
limited.

So
this is the reason why there has been a lot of resistance against
this particular measure. And President Temer, whose popularity is now
stuck in single digits — he is less popular than President Rousseff
was at the end of her administration — President Temer is trying to
present this constitutional amendment as a political victory. But it
may well be that this is really the end of his administration.

SHARMINI
PERIES: Well, how is it that a very unpopular president with an
unpopular Congress, with a very unpopular constitutional amendment,
gets it all through? I guess he’s putting his political life on the
line here because of the investigations that have also been underway
and there’s been some determination on all of that. So it doesn’t
look like he’s actually going to be able to even run in the next
election. Would you explain all of that to us?

ALFREDO
SAAD-FILHO: He cannot run in the next presidential elections that are
scheduled for 2018 because he has been judged guilty in a case of
corruption, and therefore rendered ineligible. So, one of the many
paradoxes of the political situation in Brazil at the moment is that
the current president cannot run for his own office in the future. It
is absurd.

Now,
President Temer is in a very tenuous position, but he does have a
majority support in Congress, which is a very unpopular Congress,
with a large number of members of Congress being accused of
corruption and other misdemeanors. Now, even though the political
system is highly unpopular, the President is there to deliver
something that was promised when he was leading the conspiracy to
overthrow President Rousseff. This is what he is trying to do, and
any hesitation on his part will lead to — almost inevitably lead to
— his removal from office.

Now,
notice the date: if President Temer is removed from office or forced
to resign before the 31st of December — this year — then there will
be direct elections for a president in Brazil. If he resigns or is
forced to step down next year, then there will not be direct
elections and Congress will elect someone indirectly to complete the
administration until 2018. So there is a race going on. This
administration is extremely fragile, and if the president steps down,
there will be elections, but my bet is that he will not step down
right now. He will wait at least until the end of the month, try to
coast until the beginning of the next year, so that Congress will be
able to elect someone that they trust, while in elections you do not
know what you’re going to get.

SHARMINI
PERIES: Right. Alfredo, there is a large number of legislative and
Senate lawmakers that are being investigated at the moment for their
corruption, or accusations of corruption and so on, and in an article
in The Globe and Mail a few months ago, they put this number at a
very high rate — over 360 people in the Legislative Branch being
investigated. This pits a really peculiar situation in terms of
governance in Brazil with the courts and the legal system against the
Legislative Branch. What do we make of this and what can we expect in
the next few months?

ALFREDO
SAAD-FILHO: Corruption is the way in which the Brazilian political
system works. The law says that financing for political campaigns and
political parties has to follow a particular route, but that route is
insufficient to support very expensive campaigns that have been
taking place in the country recently. So a lot of the funding for
politicians and for candidates has to go through illegal channels.
This is absolutely well-known in the country. It has always been
well-known, but it has become a major political issue right now.

The
judicial system has been pursuing a number of leads of corruption,
but it is very, very important not to have any illusions about what
is going on. This is a dispute between groups, between cliques, to
see which one is the most prominent power in the Republic — and at
the moment the most prominent power is the judiciary. There are no
controls essentially over the judiciary in Brazil. It is divided
within itself. Every day there are newspaper headlines about fights
between members of the Supreme Court and between judges at the lower
level than the Supreme Court itself. And they fight between
themselves, they fight with the lawmakers, particularly in the Senate
at the moment, and they all try to push President Temer to do their
bidding. It is an extremely confusing, chaotic, even political
situation where we see, at the same time, the disintegration of
democracy in the country, and the collapse of the Constitution. It
does not look good, and I suspect that the Brazilian Constitution
will not survive for very long.

SHARMINI
PERIES: All right. Alfredo, I thank you so much for joining us today,
and we’ll be following this over the next few months, and I hope you

Dijsselbloem weigert Griekenland geld ‘te geven’, vanwege humaan besluit voor gepensioneerden……….

De Griekse regering heeft besloten, de gepensioneerden in dat land, die onevenredig hard werden getroffen door de EU bezuinigingsbreidel, een extraatje te geven voor kerstmis.

Dat was reden voor de disfunctionerende PvdA hufter Dijsselbloem, om te stellen dat er op korte termijn geen geld meer naar Griekenland gaat….. Echt een humaan figuur, die PvdA oplichter!

Griekenland kwam in de problemen, doordat de centrale banken van een aantal EU landen, zoals De Nederlandse Bank (DNB), de gewone banken en andere financiële instellingen voor 2008 toestemming hebben gegeven, geld op de pof te lenen aan Griekenland. Terwijl elke imbeciel wist, dat geld op de pof lenen aan Griekenland, hetzelfde is als vragen om enorme problemen……..

Voor de Griekse schulden aan die banken en financiële instellingen in Noordwest-Europa, moeten de Griekse burgers opdraaien….. Politici en de reguliere media, liegen voor het overgrote deel de bevolkingen van die EU landen voor (zoals in ons land), dat het geld richting Griekenland, daadwerkelijk in de zakken van de Grieken verdwijnt, terwijl dat geldt linea recta terugvloeit in de kassen van de banken en financiële instellingen, die zich, zoals gezegd, voornamelijk Noordwest-Europa bevinden en die totaal onverantwoord geld uitleenden aan Griekenland…….. En dit onder regeringen die in de EU deel uitmaken van de grootste fracties, dus van de EVP, de liberalen en de ‘socialisten…….’

Eurozone
suspends Greek debt relief over Christmas bonus for pensioners

Greece’s
European creditors have halted the country’s debt relief deal after
Athens proposed a one-off payout to pensioners which contradicts
Brussels’ austerity demands.

The
sides are struggling to agree on the latest review of Greece’s
rescue plan of €86 billion. Last week they agreed on a short-term
debt relief deal under which Athens must reduce its public debt by 20
percent of GDP by 2060.

Three
days later Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras promised 1.6 million
pensioners a Christmas bonus of between €300 and €800. He said
the government would spend €617 million in one-off benefits for
low-income pensioners ahead of Christmas because Greece had exceeded
its 2016 primary surplus target.

The
PM also suspended a planned increase in sales tax for the eastern
Aegean islands which had received scores of refugees from the Middle
East and elsewhere.

“The
institutions have concluded that the actions of the Greek government
appear to not be in line with our agreements,” said
Eurogroup spokesman Jeroen Dijsselbloem, adding “no
unanimity now for implementing short-term debt measures.”

Athens
will hold a parliamentary vote on the pension payments on Thursday to
rally domestic support.

“When
we exceed targets and revenue by sticking to the program, we will not
seek anyone’s permission to give this money to those who need it
most,” Tsipras
said.

He
added the country’s creditors “should
respect the Greek people who had made enormous sacrifices in the name
of Europe.”

“We
have carried the weight of the refugee crisis. In the name of Europe
we have, in recent years, implemented an extremely harsh policy of
austerity,” said
the prime minister.

The
Greek people and particularly pensioners have vehemently opposed the
unpopular austerity measures introduced by the government under the
terms of the 2015 deal with creditors.

The
reforms include tax hikes, pension cuts, as well as the privatization
of public assets. Greece is also obliged to bring in a primary budget
surplus to 3.5 percent of GDP by 2018.

Gabi van Driem wil de voogdijregeling van voor 1998 terug…… AUW!!!!

Gabi van Driem, een advocaat die veelal werkt in echtscheidingszaken, was afgelopen zaterdag te gast in Kots Kamerbreed (Radio1). Van Driem sprak over het rapport van de Commissie Wolfsen en dan met name het deel over meervoudig ouderschap, dus niet twee, maar drie of vier ouders.

Volkomen terecht stelde van Driem dat dit een onzalig idee is, daar de ellende voor de kinderen dan niet te overzien is. Immers nog meer partijen de strijden over een bezoekregeling, die dan in vieren verdeeld wordt, u begrijpt wat dit voor het kind zal betekenen, minstens 4 maal per maand een overstap naar een andere gezinssituatie……..

Daarna vloog van Driem met 180 uit de bocht, ze stelde dat de situatie van voor 1998 terug dient te keren, de situatie waarbij de rechter één voogd aanstelt en waarbij een bezoekregeling voor de andere ouder, meestal de man, wordt afgesproken (een regeling die om het minste geringste kan worden gefrustreerd…..)…….

‘Toevallig’ ken ik een situatie waar een vader zijn dochter alles bij elkaar een paar jaar niet heeft kunnen zien, daar haar moeder (met een psychische aandoening en alcohol verslaafd) keer op keer de bezoekregeling frustreerde. De kinderbescherming trok partij voor de moeder, ondanks dat de bewijzen van verwaarlozing (= kindermishandeling) er dik bovenop lagen. De vader probeerde diverse instellingen te mobiliseren, die zich met kindermishandeling en verwaarlozing van kinderen bezig houden, maar niemand wilde de handen branden aan deze zaak……..

Zelfs de leerplichtambtenaar wenste niets te doen, terwijl het kind meerdere jaren, langer dan één derde van de tijd niet op school verscheen, daar moeder haar bed niet uit kon komen……….. Volgens deze ambtenaar waren er voldoende gevallen, waar het kind langer weg was van school………. Overigens liep het kind veelal in haar ondergoed rond, als moeder in bed lag, zelfs nog om 12.00 u. ‘s middags (ook als het buiten flink vroor en dat in een slecht geïsoleerd huis…)…..

De politie was de enige organisatie die mee wilde met de man, als zijn dochter weer alleen door het huis dwaalde, terwijl ze op school hoorde te zitten…… De man zag daar vanaf, daar de politie hem waarschuwde, dat in vergelijkbare gevallen, de man zijn kind, na hun ingrijpen in het geheel niet meer te zien kreeg………

Nadat de man een kapitaal aan gerechtskosten was kwijtgeraakt, besloot de dochter op haar twaalfde bij de moeder weg te lopen. Een kind ‘mag dan zelf beslissen’ bij wie ze wil wonen (wat destijds in de praktijk regelmatig niet bleek te kloppen…). Zoals te verwachten na het voorgaande, ook dat ging alles behalve over rozen, de politie dreigde het kind in ‘sociale bewaring’ te plaatsen (dus in een politiecel plaatsen…), maar door tussenkomst van een rechercheur van de kinderpolitie, kon het kind bij de vader blijven. Ongelofelijk lullig trouwens dat de kinderpolitie is opgeheven…. Wel een dierenpolitie maar geen kinderpolitie……..

Van Driem stelde over het zelfbeschikkingsrecht, dat ze graag zou zien, dat kinderen van 8 jaar (die wel degelijk mondig kunnen zijn) zouden mogen beslissen waar ze willen wonen. Ik ben bang, dat na een ‘vechtscheiding’ de moeder voordat het kind 8 is, nog meer haar best zal doen, om de bezoekregeling te frustreren en het kind op te zetten tegen de vader of andere ouder……..

Daarnaast is een bezoekregeling van eens in de twee weken veel te weinig, daarmee kan een vader dan wel de andere ouder (dan de biologische moeder) uitermate moeilijk een band in stand houden met zijn/haar kind……..

Peter de Bie, één van de twee presentatoren, was blijkbaar nog dronken van de vorige avond, daar hij het argument van van Driem, tegen meervoudig ouderschap herhaalde en daarbij stelde dat hij hier net aan ‘zat te denken…..’ Jezus wat een irritante domme kwezel, bovendien komt er werkelijk niet één zin vloeiend uit z’n vervelende kop…….

Israël legaliseert ‘i.h.k.v. het vredesakkoord’ 5.000 illegale woningen op West Bank………..

Het fascistische apartheidsbewind van Israël heeft 5.000 illegaal gebouwde woningen in de buurt van Jeruzalem gelegaliseerd……. ‘Dit i.h.k.v. de vredesbesprekingen met de Palestijnen………’ De Palestijnen eisen immers, dat Israël zich terugtrekt uit de illegaal bezette gebieden, zoals de West Bank…….. Met andere woorden: Israël heeft schijt aan die vredesbesprekingen en schoffeert het Palestijnse volk keer op keer.

Lullig genoeg gebruiken onze politici en de reguliere media het argument van de ‘vredesbesprekingen’, om Israël vooral niet te bekritiseren. Bijvoorbeeld als er weer huizen worden gebouwd op illegaal bezet gebied, daar dit die ‘vredesbesprekingen’ tussen Israël en de Palestijnen zou verstoren……. Je krijgt hooguit te horen ‘dat men bezorgd is over de ontwikkelingen……’

Gezien dat laatste, geen of zo min mogelijk kritiek leveren, zal u natuurlijk begrijpen dat de jaknikkende PvdA hufter Koenders nog met geen komma kritiek zal komen op dit schandalige besluit van Israël, immers dan zou hij ‘het vredesoverleg’ kunnen schaden……..

Ongelofelijk dat een volk zo geknecht en uiterst gewelddadig kan worden behandeld, zonder dat het westen commentaar levert en zich keer op keer achter dit uiterst gewelddadige apartheidsbewind in Israël schaart…….

Het bovenstaande, kwam gisteren in het BBC W.S. radionieuws van 1.00 u. voorbij.

Stan van Houcke bracht gisteren het bericht, dat het hooggerechtshof van Israël inzage in documenten heeft verboden, documenten betreffende illegale wapenexport aan de Servische regering, ten tijde van de genocide in Bosnië….. Dit zou de ‘goede naam’ van Israël kunnen schaden…….. ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha!  Hier de link naar dit artikel onder de naam ‘Supreme Court rules against exposing Israel’s role in Bosnian genocide’, door Stan van Houcke voorzien van de titel ‘Israel’s Support for Terror’.

Vanmorgen meldde BNR in het nieuws van 8.00 u., dat de staat New York o.a. de Nederlandse banken ASN en Triodos zal boycotten, daar deze bedrijven geen zaken wensen te doen met bedrijven, die actief zijn in de door Israël (illegaal) bezette gebieden…… ‘Christenbroeder’ Voordewind liet weten, dat hij dit volkomen begrijpelijk vindt…….. Kijk en dat is weer volkomen begrijpelijk voor deze geestelijk totaal bekrompen aanhanger van het christelijk geloof.

Griekenland moet nog meer hervormen, bankenlobbyist Schäuble in de bocht……….

Zelfs de minieme groei in Griekenland moet eraan geloven, de bevolking moet opdraaien voor de financiële maffia en haar inhumane, neoliberale politieke slippendragers!!

Het land is in het belang van de financiële maffia ontdaan van staatseigendommen, ouderen hebben hun (veelal karig) pensioen verloren, terminaal zieken kunnen amper of niet aan medicijnen komen, de jeugdwerkloosheid, die al hoog was, is intussen tot gigantische proporties gestegen en toch moeten de Grieken nog verder afgeknepen worden, als het aan de Duitse minister van Financiën, Schäuble ligt….. Dit terwijl de grofgraaiers van de westerse banken, die niet alleen Griekenland, maar een groot deel van de wereld in een diepe en lange crisis hebben gestort, niet eens zijn vervolgd……

Datzelfde geldt voor de centrale banken, zoals De Nederlandse Bank, daar had men moeten ingrijpen, toen Nederlandse banken en andere financiële instellingen geld op de pof leenden aan Griekenland, terwijl elke imbeciel wist, dat het land de schulden nooit terug zou kunnen betalen………

Schäuble stelt doodleuk dat Griekenland geen verlichting van de schuldenlast krijgt, een schuldenlast die intussen is opgelopen van 300 miljard euro in 2010, naar 350 miljard* nu (het artikel hieronder spreekt van 330 miljard). Het is onmogelijk voor Griekenland deze schuld ooit in te kunnen lossen……. Het IMF dat zich eerder uitsprak voor Griekse lastenverlichting, lult daar al maanden niet meer over, maar stelt wel, dat Griekenland nog veel meer moet hervormen……..

Het IMF stelde dat een groot deel van de Griekse schulden zouden moeten worden kwijtgescholden, daar dit land met die schuld alleen maar dieper in de stront zakt. Blijkbaar hebben Duitsland en de bankenlobbyisten bij het IMF aan de bel gehangen en heeft men daar deze kritiek ingeslikt……….

‘Hervormen’, u weet wel, de gewone arbeiders alle rechten afnemen, hen het opgebouwde pensioen afnemen en de salarissen nog verder verlagen………. Kortom: IMF eist dat Griekenland een inhumaan, ijskoud neoliberaal beleid gaat voeren, iets dat Schäuble ook voorstaat……..

Greece
must reform or leave eurozone, says German minister

Greece must
implement economic reforms if it is to keep its place in the
eurozone, Germany’s finance minister has insisted, ruling out debt
relief for the country ahead of a crucial euro group meeting on
Monday.

As
the finance ministers of member states using the single currency
prepared to discuss fiscal plans for the coming year, Wolfgang
Schäuble in effect presented Greece with an ultimatum: either it
must enforce unpopular structural reforms or exit the bloc.

“Athens
must finally implement the needed reforms,” he told the
newspaper Bild
am Sonntag in an interview published
on Sunday.

“

If
Greece wants to stay in the euro, there is no way around it – in
fact completely regardless of the debt level.”

Asked
if German voters should be prepared for the inevitability of debt
relief in the run-up to national elections next year, Schäuble
quipped: “That would not help Greece.”

Schäuble,
who also asserted the Greek budget was not burdened by debt servicing
because interest rates were now so low, made the comments as
speculation mounted over how best to put the thrice-bailed-out nation
back on the road to economic recovery. On Friday the German finance
ministry announced that short-term measures to lighten Greece’s
debt load would be among the proposals up for discussion at the euro
group meeting.

Athens’s
leftist-led government has long argued that the country’s
staggering €330bn debt load is
the single biggest impediment to sustainable growth. It is an
argument that has won backing
from the International Monetary Fund.

Time
is of the essence. The economic crisis enveloping Greece is far from
over despite more than €300bn of emergency loans since 2010 when,
after its first brush with bankruptcy, it received its first EU-IMF
sponsored bailout.

Amid
relentless tax rises and budget cuts – the price of the aid –
support for the euro is falling fast with graffiti extolling
the virtues of the drachma appearing
across the capital. Euclid Tsakalatos, the Greek finance minister,
has said the situation “is as critical as it was in the summer of
2015” when, under threat of euro ejection, Athens received
its third
€86bn rescue package.

With
his own popularity plummeting in the face of fury over
creditor-mandated cutbacks, the prime minister, Alexis
Tsipras,
had hoped to wrap up a second review of policy measures in time for
Monday’s meeting as part of a broader strategy to secure short-term
debt relief and participation of Greek bonds in the European Central
Bank’s (ECB) quantitative easing programme. The latter, he argues, is
vital to Greece returning to international capital markets when
its current
bailout expires in mid-2018.

Instead,
the review has been bogged down by disputes over contentious labour
reforms including the abolition of collective bargaining and guards
against companies laying off workers – red lines for leftists in
the ruling Syriza party. Recently the IMF has added to the pressure,
saying Athens will have to apply €4.2bn worth of extra measures to
meet fiscal targets after 2018, a demand widely seen as the tipping
point for austerity-whipped Greeks.

But
Tsipras is also acutely aware that forthcoming European elections and
the possible loss of sympathetic friends – starting with Italy’s
Matteo Renzi in Sunday’s referendum –
could spell further trouble for the eurozone’s weakest link by
quashing any chance of debt relief. Tellingly, leading Syriza cadres
and MEPs have in recent weeks underlined the need for a “plan B”
and not ruled out euro exit.

Highlighting
the significance of Monday’s euro group meeting, the EU economic
affairs commissioner, Pierre Moscovici, said discussion of fiscal
plans would take place against a backdrop of the commission calling
“for a positive fiscal stance for the eurozone as a whole”.

Bhopal giframp 3 december 1984

Het is vandaag 32 jaar gelden dat de giframp in Bhopal, India plaatsvond. In de nacht van 2 op 3 december lekte een grote hoeveelheid giftig gas weg, uit de uitermate slecht onderhouden pesticide fabriek van Union Carbide.

Ten gevolge van deze ramp kwamen 991 mensen om het leven en raakten 558.125 gewond, waarvan 3.900 ernstig gewonden…… De laatste groep heeft blijvend letsel opgelopen. Overigens zijn deze cijfers omstreden: deskundigen die een jarenlang onderzoek uitvoerden spreken over minstens 2.000 doden, die direct tijdens de ramp vielen, waarna ten gevolge van de vergiftiging nog eens minstens 6.000 mensen (van maanden tot soms een paar jaar) na de ramp overleden…… Deze deskundigen spreken van 150.000 mensen die ernstig chronisch ziek zijn geworden t.g.v. de ramp……..

Het gif is ook in het grondwater aangetroffen, water dat door de plaatselijke bevolking tot een jaar of 5 terug werd gedronken en wat weer extra chronische klachten gaf, zo werd het gif zelfs in moedermelk aangetroffen…… Pas een jaar of 5 geleden heeft de regionale overheid een waterleiding voor de bewoners aangelegd…… De fabriek staat er nog altijd en nog steeds liggen daar grote hoeveelheden pesticiden, ofwel gif, Dow Chemical, dat Union Carbide overnam, weigert de boel op te ruimen…….

Zoals u hiervoor al kon lezen: Union Carbide werd overgenomen door Dow Chemical. Union Carbide heeft jarenlang de rechtszaken getraineerd, een beleid dat door Dow Chemical werd overgenomen en tot op de dag van vandaag hebben de bewoners amper of geen schadevergoeding ontvangen……..

Ach, u weet het: volksgezondheid is totaal ondergeschikt aan geldelijk gewin en de macht van bedrijven. Vandaar dat het ook zo’n enorme schande is, dat de EU (en dus ook Nederland) het CETA verdrag met Canada heeft getekend……. Nu kunnen bedrijven uit de VS, zoals Dow Chemical, via hun burelen in Canada, de EU lidstaten voor een geheime rechtbank (ISDS) dagen, als de overheden van die lidstaten Dow Chemical onwelgevallige beslissingen nemen, of als bestaande wet- en regelgeving niet in het straatje van Dow past…….

Canada’s Standing Rock….. Stop de Site C Dam!

Gisteren ontving ik een petitie van Amnesty USA. Deze petitie is tegen het laten onderlopen van een vallei, die al meer dan 100 jaar geleden als schaamlap werd toebedeeld aan de oorspronkelijke bevolking (die toen wegens een op hen gepleegde genocide gigantisch gedecimeerd was…), voor al het hen ontstolen land……

De regering Trudeau heeft al toestemming gegeven voor het bouwen van de Site C Dam, waarvoor het aan het plaatselijk volk toebedeelde land, de Peace Valley, onder water dreigt te verdwijnen……..

Mensen het is 2016 en de regeringen van Canada en de VS moeten eindelijk begrijpen, dat ze met hun vieze geldgraaipoten van het land van de oorspronkelijke bevolking af dienen te blijven!!

Urge Canada to Halt the
Site C Dam

Like
indigenous rights protectors around the world, Helen Knott is trying
to protect her people’s way of life.

More
than 100 years ago, Helen Knott’s great-great grandfather signed an
agreement with the Canadian government that was meant to protect his
people’s way of life. That promise is being broken.

The
government has given the go-ahead for the Site C dam, a huge
hydro-electric project in the Peace River Valley, British Columbia.
If built, it will drown over 80km of land, sweeping away Indigenous
hunting, fishing and burial grounds. Tell Canada to halt the Site C
dam.

What’s
worse, the government KNEW the dam would inflict permanent harm to
the Indigenous peoples in the area, and approved the dam any
way.Tell
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to immediately halt the Site C
dam and respect the rights of Indigenous peoples in the Peace River
Valley.

Despite
a pending court case to block the project, the hydroelectric company
has begun clearing the valley.No
amount of commerce — not a dam nor an oil pipeline — trumps
the human rights of an entire people.

“This
is my home. This is where I want to raise my children and my
grandchildren,” said Helen. “What will we have left?

If
the multi-billion dollar Site C dam goes ahead, the people of the
Peace River Valley will lose one of the last areas where they still
hunt, fish and carry out sacred ceremonies.Stand
in solidarity with Helen and the Indigenous people of the Peace River
Valley struggling to save their ancestral lands. Tell Canada to halt
the Site C dam.

21-year-old woman was severely injured and may lose her arm after
being hit by a projectile when North Dakota law enforcement officers
turned a water cannon on Dakota
Access pipeline protesters
and threw “less-than-lethal” weapons, according to the woman’s
father.

Sophia
Wilansky was one of several hundred protesters injured during the
standoff with police on Sunday on a bridge near the site where the
pipeline is planned to cross under the Missouri river.

Graphic
photographs of her injured arm with broken bones visible were
circulated on social media.

“The
best-case scenario is no pain and 10-20% functionality,” said Wayne
Wilansky, Sophia’s father, who travelled to Minneapolis where his
daughter underwent eight hours of surgery on Monday. He said his
daughter had been hit by a concussion grenade thrown by a police
officer and that the arteries, median nerve, muscle and bone in her
left arm had been “blown away”. 

Sophia
will require additional surgery in the next few days and her arm may
still have to be amputated, he added. “She’s devastated. She
looks at her arm and she cries,” he said.

Sophia
Wilansky is one of thousands of activists who have travelled to the
Standing Rock Sioux reservation in North
Dakota to
attempt to halt the construction of the pipeline. Members of the

Standing
Rock Sioux tribe established a “spiritual camp” on the banks of
the Missouri in April. The tribe fears the pipeline will jeopardise
their water supply and say that construction has disturbed sacred
burial grounds.

Police
blast Standing Rock protesters with water cannon and rubber bullets

The
activists, who call themselves “water protectors”, have faced a
heavily militarised police force. More than 400
protesters have been arrested by
law enforcement officers who have deployed pepper spray, teargas,
rubber bullets, Tasers, sound weapons and other “less-than-lethal”
methods.

Following
Sunday’s confrontation 26
protesters were taken to hospital and
more than 300 injured, according to the Standing Rock Medic &
Healer Council. Most of the injured had hypothermia after being hit
by a water cannon in below-freezing weather.

The
Morton County sheriff’s department did not immediately respond to
inquiries from the Guardian. In an interview with the Los
Angeles Times,
a spokeswoman for the department denied the agency had deployed
concussion grenades and suggested the injury may have occurred while
protesters were “rigging up their own explosives”.

The
Standing Rock Medic & Healer Council refuted law enforcement’s
claims in a statement, citing eye-witness accounts of seeing police
throw concussion grenades, “the lack of charring of flesh at the
wound site” and “grenade pieces that have been removed from her
arm in surgery and will be saved for legal proceedings”.

The
incident on Sunday began when about 100 activists attempted to remove
two burned trucks from the bridge just north of the main encampment.
The bridge has been barricaded for several weeks, blocking the most
direct route to Bismarck, North Dakota, and raising safety concerns
among residents of the camp and the reservation.

The
barricade may have exacerbated Wilansky’s injury, her father said,
by delaying her arrival at a hospital in Bismarck. She was
subsequently airlifted to another hospital in Minneapolis.

Wilansky
has received a massive outpouring of support online. A crowdfunding
campaign established
to help pay her medical bills raised more than $120,000 (£96,000)
from more than 4,000 donors in the first seven hours. 

Friends
of Wilansky are planning a prayer vigil in Minneapolis on Tuesday.

  • This
    article was amended on 21 November 2016 to clarify that Sophia
    Wilansky’s father told the Guardian that she was injured by a
    projectile, which North Dakota law enforcement denies.

Joris Voorhoeve blijft tevergeefs zijn Srebrenica straatje schoonvegen…..

Sinds Voorhoeve werd vrijgepleit van elke verantwoordelijkheid voor de massamoord op moslim jongens en mannen in in de buurt van Srebrenica, kan hij het niet laten om op elke uitnodiging over dit onderwerp in te gaan, dan wel in te gaan op vragen dienaangaande……..

Voorhoeve trad aan als minister en kwam daarmee voor een voldongen feit te staan*, hij had echter het ministerschap kunnen weigeren, maar daar was de praalhans te trots voor………. Wel had hij onmiddellijk na zijn aantreden, van de VN, verscherpte garanties moeten eisen voor steun aan de Nederlandse troepen, dat heeft de ijdeltuit niet gedaan, het ministertje spelen beviel deze kakhufter wel en hij wilde niet als zeikerd versleten worden bij zijn collega’s in het kabinet en bij zijn buitenlandse collega’s……..

Bovendien had Voorhoeve (destijds VVD) tanks na kunnen sturen voor deze missie, ook al koos Nederland ervoor deze in eerste instantie niet in te zetten voor de militairen en de bevolking in Srebrenica, terwijl de Denen dat tezelfdertijd wel hebben gedaan, met een vergelijkbare missie in voormalig Joegoslavië…….

Het NIOD heeft vorige week geconcludeerd, dat voor het argument van Nederland en Voorhoeve in een boek van zijn hand (het gore lef!), men de gevraagde luchtsteun doelbewust niet kreeg, geen bewijzen heeft kunnen vinden………

Weet u wat het antwoord van Voorhoeve daarop was? Deze oplichter stelde doodleuk, dat geen bewijs kunnen vinden, niet betekent, dat het niet waar is……. Als het niet zo triest was, zou je je daadwerkelijk doodlachen…….

Het meest schandalige is wel, dat het voltallige kabinet Rutte 2, na dit NIOD onderzoek, geen aanleiding ziet, tot verder onderzoek over te gaan……!!!!! M.a.w. de excuses door diverse politici en opvolgende regeringen aangevoerd, dat men doelbewust geen luchtsteun kreeg, is een leugen en toch concludeert het waardeloze kabinet Rutte 2, dat verder onderzoek niet nodig is….. Zaak gesloten!!! Maar niet voor de vele slachtoffers en nabestaanden……..

Je moet je tegenwoordig schamen, dat je uit Nederland komt en er zijn al heel wat Nederlanders, die het wel best vinden, als men hen in het buitenland voor Duitser verslijt………..

* Een voldongen feit: de verdediging van de enclave Srebrenica, dat door diverse deskundigen al als onhaalbaar werd gekwalificeerd (met de meegezonden ‘hardware’), was voor het kabinet Kok geen reden, af te zien van een Nederlandse missie………..
