Sanders vs. Biden, een strijd die door de media, de grote bedrijven en de Democratische Partij werd gewonnen

Sanders
gooide onlangs de handdoek in de ring, waardoor we nu met Trump
zitten, een fascistisch psychopathische president die opgaat
voor nog een termijn en met Biden, de Democratische kandidaat, die
zowel (als Trump) oorlogsmisdadiger is, er al een paar decennia lang een
neoliberale agenda op na houdt* en die als Trump
intussen ook wordt beschuldigd van verkrachting…… Voorts moet
gezegd worden dat Biden, gezien zijn optreden de laatste maanden
minstens de indruk wekte dementerend te zijn, vanmorgen nog hoorde ik deze hufter spreken over Sanders die zijn campagne steunt, wat een geklungel, je krijgt zwaar de indruk dat hij niet weet wat te zeggen………..

Johnstone schreef een artikel over deze zaak, waarin ze uitlegt hoe
het mogelijk is dat we met 2 van dit soort kandidaten zitten, dus met Biden en Trump. Van de
geheime dienst die van Sanders een Russische kandidaat maakte, tot de
top van de Democratische Partij die o.a. in de vorm van Obama zelfs nog op de
avond voor Super Tuesday de campagne van Sanders saboteerde….. Zo
werden de plannen van Sanders voor onderwijs (o.a. studeren zo goed
als gratis maken), een zorgverzekering voor elke inwoner van de VS
en bestrijding van de enorme armoede in de VS, als een plan van een
waanzinnige voorgesteld, het zou allemaal niet te betalen
zijn…….. 

Het voorgaande terwijl men er geen probleem mee heeft
dat de VS intussen: -meer dan 730 miljard uitgeeft aan
oorlogsvoering, -kapitalen aan subsdie spendeert voor de winning van schaliegas en
-olie, -de geldpersen constant aan heeft staan, om zo te pogen de
aandelenkoersen op peil te houden…… Om nog maar te zwijgen over de
gigantische hoeveelheden belastinggeld die naar grote bedrijven gaan,
o.a. naar landbouw en veeteelt, steenkool winning en de kapitalen die
worden gespendeerd aan wapenfabrikanten in de breedste zin van het
woord….. Dan is er nog een hele berg
aan belastinginkomsten verdwenen, daar de Trump administratie de belastingen voor grote
bedrijven en de welgestelden fiks heeft verlaagd……

Hoe is
het mogelijk dat de achterban van Trump maar in hem blijft geloven,
waar hij hen intussen op enorme schaal heeft besodemieterd en in feite
tegen hun belang handelt….. Daar is maar één antwoord op te
geven: de reguliere (massa-) media in de VS hersenspoelen de
bevolking dusdanig dat ze geloven belang te hebben bij kandidaten
als Trump en Biden (2 psychopathische totaal-idioten van partijen die amper van
elkaar verschillen, daar zou met Sanders als president een eind aan
zijn gekomen dat is zeker, ook al zou hij veel tegenwind hebben
gekregen)

kandidaatschap voor president, ofwel de campagne van Sanders hebben

So
as of right now it’s Trump versus Biden. An incompetent plutocrat
president selling
himself as an anti-establishment people’s champion
while simultaneously advancing garden
variety Republican sociopathy,
versus a warmongering
authoritarian
who is too
demented to string a coherent sentence together
and who is looking
more and more credibly to
be a rapist.

Needless
to say, this is absolute bullshit.

How
did we get here? How did we get to the point where the electoral
contest to run the most powerful government on the planet is between
a racist demented right-wing authoritarian warmongering rapist and
another racist demented right-wing authoritarian warmongering
rapist? How in the hell did this bullshit happen?

There
are a number of factors, including anonymous
and unsubstantiated “leaks” from the US intelligence
community
regarding Russian support for the Bernie Sanders campaign and a
shockingly
coordinated maneuver
by Democratic Party leadership (including
former president Obama)
to sabotage Sanders in the late hours before Super Tuesday.

But
the primary factor by far was domestic mass media propaganda.
Propaganda during the primary season of course, with the billionaire
press showing a very
clear and undeniable bias against Bernie Sanders
from the very
beginning of the race.
Had the Sanders campaign received a normal quality and quantity of
mass media coverage for a candidate of his stature, he would
doubtless have received far more support than he did. To deny that
biased media messaging has an effect would be the same as denying
that advertising, a trillion-dollar
industry,
has an effect.

But
it goes so very much deeper than that. The influence of mass media
propaganda upon the Democratic primary race was not limited to the
propaganda that was employed during the actual contest; it’s been
setting the foundation for it since long before that.

Without
having been raised in a media environment that is saturated with
establishment propaganda, it would never occur to anyone in a million
years to describe a violent authoritarian extremist like Joe Biden as
a “moderate”. It would never occur to anyone to think of
this crazy wingnut as “electable”. It would certainly never
occur to anyone that he should be running on the platform of what
passes for America’s political left wing.

Joe
Biden has been a horrible,
evil politician
since long before his rape allegations went mainstream and his brain
started turning to porridge. If people could gaze with fresh,
unmanipulated eyes upon someone who’s dedicated his entire political
career to neoliberal exploitation at home and neoconservative mass
murder abroad, someone who openly
boasts
about authoring the foundational documents of the USA PATRIOT Act,
someone who promises rich donors that “nothing
fundamentally will change”
if he’s elected and who they know from experience can be taken at his
word, it would never occur to them that this is someone who should be
running for any elected office anywhere, let along within spitting
distance of the most powerful one in the world.

It
is only by the ability of the mass media to manufacture
the illusion of normality
that this bullshit has been made possible. The way the plutocratic
class controls the mass media has given them the ability to persuade
people to believe that freakish extremism is normal and healthy
objections to oligarchic malfeasance is freakish extremism.

This
is the case not just with this bullshit US presidential race, but
with all bullshit everywhere. A world where powerful governments
attack, destroy, starve and undermine weaker governments which refuse
to bow to their interests, a world where the wealthy continue to
steal more and more wealth from an increasingly impoverished working
class and use the leverage that wealth gets them to steal more, a
world where governments demand more and more opacity for themselves
and more and more transparency from ordinary people, a world where
police are becoming increasingly militarized and speech is becoming
increasingly restricted, a world where the response to a global
pandemic is not to rally together and overcome but to advance
pre-existing authoritarian agendas
and manufacture support for new
cold war escalations against China.

None
of this bullshit would have been possible without all of us having
been raised in an atmosphere of mass-scale obfuscation and
manipulation. None of us would ever accept such a world without
having been manipulated into it, which is why they have done exactly
that.

We
will not collectively use the power of our numbers to force a change
to this oppressive status quo until we can find some way to break
free of our psychic bondage to the establishment propaganda machine,
and we will not find a way to do that until we change
something deep within ourselves
about our relationship as a species to mental narrative.

But
as things get increasingly weird and unpredictable, gaps will open up
in our preexisting patterns. When patterns degrade to the point of
unpredictability, anything becomes possible.

We
are at an adapt-or-die point as a species, and we’ll need to break
free of the bullshit to make the jump. Hell, we just might make it.

Privacy en vrijheid van meningsuiting slachtoffer van het Coronavirus: neem de verplichte volg-app

In de
strijd tegen het Coronavirus is men bezig meer en meer rechten van
burgers te ondergraven met wet- en regelgeving en ja daarbij zegt men
dat dit alleen is bedoeld voor de periode van de Coronacrisis…….
Echter de werkelijkheid laat zien dat eerdere aantastingen van
burgerrechten allesbehalve worden hersteld, één van de sterkste
voorbeelden daarvan is wel de Patriot Act die de VS aannam na de
aanslagen van 9/11, deze aantasting van burgerrechten werd nooit
teruggedraaid en is meer levend dan ooit….

CaitlinJohnstone schreef een artikel over deze aantasting van
burgerrechten en nam daarbij de Patriot Act als voorbeeld, waarbij
ze uitlegt dat deze wetgeving al was voorbereid door Joe Biden na de
bomaanslag in Oklahoma. In 1995 kwam hij met de Omnibus
Counterterrorism Act. In deze wetgeving werd geheim bewijs toegestaan
als middel bij strafrechtelijke vervolging……

Ook zou
bij deze wetgeving de Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) worden
uitgebreid als ook de wetgeving voor het inbreken op computers en
aftappen van telefoons….. Voorts zou met die federale wetgeving ‘bepaalde
politieke overtuigingen’ worden gezien als terreur, waarbij ook het
leger van de VS zou kunnen worden ingezet als handhaver van de wet…… Verder zou men buitenlanders zonder proces en aanklacht voor onbepaalde
tijd kunnen vastzetten….. Geen wonder dat het Center for
National Security Studies (CNSS) concludeerde dat e.e.a. een aantasting was
van de burgerrechten en dat het justitie de vrijheid gaf misdaden te
onderzoeken en te vervolgen op basis van politieke overtuiging…….

Zoals je
al kon lezen is het duidelijk dat de Omnibus Counterterrorism Act een
blauwdruk was van de Patriot Act, neem Guantanamo Bay waar men mensen
vasthield zonder een echte aanklacht en zonder proces en dat voor onbepaalde tijd……. Schandelijk genoeg houdt men daar nog steeds mensen vast zonder dat ze een poroces hebben gekregen…. (er zitten mensen zelfs al 18 jaar vast in dat concetrnatiekamp) Waar de manier waarop men deze mensen gevangen houdt en behandelt op een manier die alleen is te vergelijken met ernstige marteling, nogmaals: e.e.a. zonder
noemenswaardige aanklacht en meestal zonder proces (de ‘aanklachten’ die er wel zijn, werden veelal verkegen op basis van informatie die met barbaarse martelingen werden verkregen….*)…..

Ook in Nederland gaan zoals gezegd steeds meer stemmen op voor het aan de kant
zetten van privacy en burgerrechten in de strijd tegen het
Coronavirus en heeft Google al aangegeven landen te willen helpen in
het lokaliseren van smartphones, zodat deze daarmee de bewegingen van de
eigenaar kunnen controleren, uiteraard te zot voor woorden!! Je
zou denken: dan zet je gewoon de geolocatie op je telefoon uit, echter
Google kan dan alsnog uitpeilen waar je bent (zoals ik maar al te
vaak heb gemerkt sinds ik zo’n ‘wonderdoos’ heb….) Er zijn zelfs
zottekoppen die suggereren dat men verplicht zijn telefoon bij zich
moet hebben als je buiten bent (immers om e.e.a. te voorkomen zou je
je telefoon thuis kunnen laten), hoe dat dan moet als je geen
smartphone hebt is mij een raadsel…..

Gistermorgen
een hoogleraar in Standpunt NL die niets ziet in de
‘aanwezigheidsapp’ die men verplicht zou moeten downloaden, hij
vertelde voorts dat ook de vrijheid van meningsuiting al kind van de
rekening is vanwege het Coronavirus. Een publicatie van hem mocht
niet geopenbaard worden daar deze onrust zou zaaien…… Te gek voor
woorden!!

Vanmorgen werd bekend gemaakt dat de ‘taskforce’ Coronavirus inderdaad van plan is een aanwezigheids-app, of anders gezegd een volg-app, hoogstwaarschijnlijk binnen een paar dagen verplicht te stellen….. Je kan er donder op zeggen dat de geheime diensten fiks hebben gelobbyd voor deze app, een app die ze al een aantal jaren geleden op de wensenlijst hadden staan…… Ongelofelijk, een regering die van blunder naar blunder hobbelt en nu het laatste restje privacy dat we nog over hadden, de nek wil omdraaien…… 

Eén
ding is zeker, men gebruikt het Coronavirus om te oefenen op het
beheersen van het volk, bijvoorbeeld mocht er een opstand
uitbreken…. In het buitenland gaat het veelal een stuk verder, waar
zelfs militairen al daadwerkelijk op straat de wet handhaven en dan
doel ik niet op de VS, waar men maar een scheet hoeft te laten en de
reservisten verschijnen in volle oorlogsdracht met pantserwagens op
de straat……. Benieuwd of dat ons ook nog te wachten staat……

Lees het
artikel van Johnstone en weest gewaarschuwd!! Tijd om je te
organiseren als je tegen deze trend in wilt gaan, hoewel demonstreren
nu niet tot de mogelijkheden behoort . Mochten we toch afstevenen op
een politiestaat, organiseer je dan in niet te grote groepen,
kleine cellen van maximaal 4 personen, die verbinding hebben met andere cellen, kunnen veel meer
uitrichten en de kans dat je verraden wordt is daardoor veel kleiner (en laat tegen die tijd je smartphone thuis!).

The
first draft of the civil
rights-eroding
USA PATRIOT Act was magically introduced
one week after the 9/11 attacks.
Legislators later
admitted
that they hadn’t even had time to read through the hundreds of pages
of the history-shaping bill before passing it the next month, yet
somehow its authors were able to gather all the necessary information
and write the whole entire thing in a week.

This
was because most of the work had already been done. CNET (former Computer Network) reported
the following back
in 2008:

“Months
before the Oklahoma City bombing took place, [then-Senator Joe] Biden
introduced another bill called the Omnibus
Counterterrorism Act of 1995.
It previewed the 2001 Patriot Act by allowing secret evidence to be
used in prosecutions, expanding the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance
Act and wiretap laws, creating a new federal crime of ‘terrorism’
that could be invoked based on political beliefs, permitting the U.S.
military to be used in civilian law enforcement, and allowing
permanent detention of non-U.S. citizens without judicial review. The
Center for National Security Studies (CNSS) said
the bill would erode ‘constitutional
and statutory due process protections’ and would ‘authorize the
Justice Department to pick and choose crimes to investigate and
prosecute based on political beliefs and associations.’

Biden’s
bill was
never put to a vote,
but after 9/11 then-Attorney General John Ashcroft reportedly
credited his bill with the foundations of the USA PATRIOT Act.

“Civil
libertarians were opposed to it,” Biden said
in 2002 of
his bill. “Right after 1994, and you can ask the attorney
general this, because I got a call when he introduced the Patriot
Act. He said, ‘Joe, I’m introducing the act basically as you wrote it
in 1994.'”

I
point this out because it is now more important than ever to be aware
that power structures (and their goons like Biden) can and will seize
on opportunities to roll out pre-existing authoritarian agendas. We
know it happened after 9/11, and we may be absolutely certain that it
is happening now.

Commentator
and satirist CJ Hopkins has a long,
long, long, long ongoing thread
on Twitter right now compiling dozens and dozens of creepy Orwellian
steps that have been taken by governments around the world and by
Silicon Valley tech giants in response to the virus over the last
three weeks. I emphasize how long the thread is because if you think
you’ve finished scrolling through it you probably haven’t; make sure
you keep clicking “more replies” until you get to the
current entries.

I
strongly encourage everyone to scroll through the thread when you get
a chance to get a sense of the scale and scope of the drastic
measures that are being implemented around the world, and maybe
bookmark it and keep checking back now and then for updates. The
entire thread is comprised of mainstream media articles with
excerpts; some entries are more jarring than others, but taken as a
whole it becomes clear that we’re looking at a whole lot of power
being handed over to the kinds of institutions which historically
don’t do good things when given a lot more power.

To
what extent are these drastic, intrusive, authoritarian measures
justified? The answer, in my estimation, isn’t clear yet. There are
too many unknowns about the virus, too many unknowns about the
responses to it, and too many unknowns about exactly what is going on
behind the veil of secrecy in opaque government agencies around the
world. There’s an
argument expert epidemiologists are making
that there’s no time to get perfectly certain of these things before
dealing with a pandemic, that speed is of the essence and hesitating
due to fear of maybe getting something wrong can cost millions of
lives. Maybe that’s true; I’m not an epidemiologist and I do not
know.

What
I do know is that enormous changes are happening, and that powerful
people are definitely conspiring to advance their own interests as
this unfolds. There are many theories about who specifically is
conspiring with whom and the specific manner in which they are doing
so, and they’re being dismissed by establishment loyalists as
“conspiracy theories” as though that in and of itself
constitutes some sort of argument. That conspiracies are happening is
actually just a
fact that is obvious to any adult
with a mature understanding of the world, and it can be useful to
come up with theories about how that might be occurring; calling
theories about conspiracies the thing that they are in a disparaging
tone does not actually invalidate them.

There
are a ton of theories about what’s going on behind the scenes with
this pandemic and the policies that are being put in place to respond
to it. Some are smart and relatively well-founded, some are stupid
and rooted in generalized paranoia or partisan idiocy, many
contradict each other, and many could potentially fit together in
some way. I personally haven’t seen enough evidence for any one
theory to throw my weight behind it, but I am watching carefully, and
I am glad that the hive mind is chewing on this riddle.

One
thing I will put my weight behind right now is the prediction that
those of us who are dedicated to truth are going to have to
drastically revise our worldviews in the coming months. There are
such large-scale shifts happening in such an unclear information
environment that the only thing we should expect is the unexpected;
this virus is shaking things up (and being used to shake things up)
in ways we don’t really understand yet, and even before the virus the
world’s dominant power structures were
acting very weird.
This means our ideas about what’s going on in the world will likely
have to undergo some revising in the relatively near future; the
bigger the revelations, the more revision will be necessary.

Right
now that’s the primary piece of advice I have to offer: stay
skeptical, stay intellectually honest, and keep your perspectives
malleable. If we are more interested in the truth than we are in
being proven right or in feeling smug, then we are likely on a
collision course with future revelations that will change our ideas
about how the world is functioning in some pretty significant ways.
If this doesn’t sound possible to you, it’s only because you
currently lack the humility, intellectual honesty and cognitive
flexibility to understand that you may be seeing the full picture
yet.

Things
are shifting; all we can do is keep our minds agile enough to shift
with them. Prepare to have your worldview obliterated.

Netflix censureert aflevering van humoristisch programma, ‘na een geldig verzoek’ op grond van Saoedische wetgeving….

Grote
opschudding in de VS over de beslissing van Netflix een aflevering
van het satirische programma ‘Patriot Act’ in Saoedi-Arabië op haar
site te blokkeren voor kijkers in die reli-fascistische
terreurstaat……

In
de bewuste aflevering levert Hasan Minhaj grote kritiek op Mohammad bin
Salman (MBS), de uiterst moorddadige psychopathische kroonprins van
Saoedi-Arabië. Met name de oorlog die Saoedi-Arabië in Jemen voert is
onderwerp van de kritiek, een illegale oorlog tegen de sjiitische
bevolking van dat land, die is uitgedraaid op een genocide…..

Ook
de barbaarse moord op ‘journalist’ Khashoggi is uiteraard onderwerp
van kritiek. Gelukkig heeft het programma Patriot Act wel oog voor de
oorlog in Jemen, dit in tegenstelling tot de meeste westerse politici
en het overgrote deel van de reguliere massamedi, die
vooral ontstemd waren over de dood van Khashoggi, een ‘journalist’
die het Saoedische bewind en haar ongebreidelde terreur in het
verleden heeft gesteund…….

Jammer
dat in het hieronder opgenomen artikel van Middle East Eye (MEE),
toch vooral de aandacht op de dood van Khashoggi wordt gelegd……

Veel inwoners van Saoedi-Arabië waren blij dat de Midden-Oosten tak van Netflix,
Netflix MENA (MENA: Middle East and North Africa) een humoristisch
programma maakt, daar zo de censuur kan worden omzeild. Des te groter
de teleurstelling na de beslissing van Netflix de bewuste aflevering te censureren voor S-A….. Netflix laat duidelijk de oren hangen naar de inhumane, bloedige Saoedische dictatuur…….
(en die koninklijke dictatuur is goede vrienden met het Nederlandse koningshuis……)

(MEE) — Netflix
has removed an episode of comedy show Patriot
Act with
Hasan Minhaj for
viewers in Saudi Arabia after the country complained about the host’s
criticism of its war in Yemen and the killing of journalist Jamal
Khashoggi, the Financial Times reported on Tuesday.

According
to the FT, the streaming site confirmed
it had removed the episode,
which is described on the website as: “Hasan exposes grim truths
about Saudi Arabia and the charismatic crown prince known as ‘MBS
[Mohammed bin Salman].’”

The
decision followed a complaint made by Saudi Arabia’s Communications
and Information Technology Commission on the grounds that the episode
violated the anti-cyber
crime law against
“material impinging on public order, religious values, public
morals, and privacy”.

Under
Article 6 of Saudi Arabia’s anti-cyber crime law, “production,
preparation, transmission, or storage” of such material “through
the information network or computers” is punishable by a five-year
prison sentence and a 3m Saudi riyal ($800,000) fine.

In
the episode, the comedian takes aim at the kingdom in the aftermath
of Khashoggi’s assassination inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul
on 2 October.

Both
the Saudi-led war in Yemen, which he calls “the biggest tragedy of
the MBS era”, and the crown prince himself come in for criticism.
Minhaj calls for American ties to the oil-rich kingdom to be placed
under the spotlight.

“Now
would be a good time to reassess our relationship with Saudi Arabia.
And I mean that as a Muslim, and as an American,” he says in the
episode.

Netflix
defended the decision in a statement, saying: “We strongly support
artistic freedom worldwide and only removed this episode in Saudi
Arabia after we had received a valid legal request – and to comply
with local law.”

Online
outcry

The
report has provoked a response from many prominent figures on social
media.

“Wow.
When Netflix censors material on behalf of Mohammad bin Salman,”
tweeted Iyad el-Baghdadi, a Norway-based human rights activist. “Many
of us Arabs were very excited when Netflix launched its MENA
division, because we thought this is a way in which we can bypass
censorship. I guess there’s the end of that.”

“Money
always comes ahead of principles. Corporatism is a pillar of the
structure of power that keeps us pinned down,” he added.

Others
on social media shared Baghdadi’s concern, wondering how much
influence Mohammed bin Salman had over Netflix.

those criticising the move was Karen Attiah, the Washington Post’s
global opinion editor, who became a fierce critic of the Saudi
leadership when her paper’s columnist Khashoggi was murdered by
Saudi operatives. The CIA has concluded that Mohammed bin Salman was
almost certainly responsible for the operation.

allies like Germany withholding arms sales and the US
Senate officially holding Mohammed bin Salman responsible.

The
assassination has also placed Riyadh’s role in the disastrous war

under closer scrutiny. US Congress members are pushing to halt all
Washington’s support for the Saudi-led coalition fighting in the

Opvallende vergelijkingen van de huidige VS met de deelname aan de Eerste Wereldoorlog

Harry
Blain is een student ‘politieke wetenschappen’ aan de City University
of New York, de CUNY. In die hoedanigheid heeft hij een opiniestuk
geschreven over de vergelijkingen tussen 2018* en de periode dat de
VS verwikkeld was in de Eerste Wereldoorlog (WOI).

Volgens
Blain had die periode (van 2 jaar) alles wat de VS heden ten dage heeft: een regering die
demonstranten haat, een hooggerechtshof dat in lijn liep met de
regering, de hysterie over het volkslied en nationalisme in het algemeen. Wat nu nog niet gebeurt
is het kussen van de vlag, al zie je nu in de VS bijna geen huis dat niet een VS vlag voor of aan het huis heeft hangen…….

Al
moet ik zeggen dat deze nationalistische hysterie fiks is opgepompt
na de aanslagen van 9/11, neem ook de Patriot Act.

Wat
we na die aanslagen nog niet zagen, waren de smerige beschuldigingen aan
het adres van de sociale media over het brengen van fake news
(nepnieuws) en de wil tot censuur op die media, terwijl de reguliere
media na 9/11 niet anders deden dan vooral veel fake news brengen,
waar de absolute top van liegen en bedriegen door die media destijds
lag in de aanloop naar en tijdens de illegale oorlog tegen Irak……… Waar dit
liegen en bedriegen nu standaard door die reguliere (massa-) media
wordt gedaan.

Ten
eerste was er in 2001 nog amper sprake van sociale media, die toen
pas in opkomst waren. Ten tweede zijn de reguliere media na
2001 voor een groot deel in handen gekomen van multimiljonairs/miljardairs of van grote
beursgenoteerde bedrijven, beiden groepen die belang hebben de
huidige neoliberale status quo te beschermen en te handhaven……. Leuke
bijkomstigheid, dat laatste, de media in handen van bepaalde figuren
of groepen, heeft er juist voor gezorgd dat er platforms op het
internet verschenen die zware kritiek leverden en leveren op die
reguliere media en die met deze kritiek op de (reguliere) berichtgeving zelf het echte nieuws brachten en brengen.

It
wasn’t the good war. But, in our popular imagination, it wasn’t
the bad one either.

Instead,
it’s identified by a vague mixture of concepts, names, and events:
the Lusitania,
“Wilsonian Idealism,” Versailles, Theodore Roosevelt.

The
First World War — known as the “Great War” in Europe — has
largely faded from memory on this side of the Atlantic. Arguably,
this is because our involvement was so brief — joining the
slaughter over two years after it began and leaving it just over
eighteen months later.

But,
beyond the fact that it claimed the lives of over 100,000 Americans,
there are good reasons why, a century later, we should remember this
chapter in our history, not least because it has ominous parallels
with today.


Compliant
Courts

The
political science textbooks tell us that “checks and balances”
are central to American democracy.


And,
with a mechanical and historically dubious recounting of Marbury
v. Madison (1803),
students are immediately taught about the rise of one of these great
barriers to tyranny: judicial review. 


Unlike in the crusty old
monarchies, they learn, wise and dispassionate judges can protect us
from oppressive laws and power-hungry politicians.


The
Founding Fathers would find this view surprising. As Alexander
Hamilton succinctly put it, the power of the judiciary would always
be limited because
it had “no influence over either the sword or the purse.” And
Madison repeatedly warned about the weakness of “parchment
barriers”
laid down in the constitution.

In
1917 and 1918, these fears — and worse — were justified.

Far
from merely accepting the various censorship laws passed by Congress,
one of the country’s most revered Supreme Court Justices, Oliver
Wendell Holmes, affirmatively endorsed them.

The
crime was committed by Charles Schenk, General Secretary of the
Socialist Party in Philadelphia, whose organization was distributing
leaflets protesting the first ever nation-wide conscription law (the
Union and Confederacy had separate conscription laws during the Civil
War).

Opposition
to the draft came from many motives and groups: socialists who saw
this as the rich man’s war and the poor man’s fight; second- or
third-generation immigrants whose parents had come to America to
escape conscription in Europe; German- or Austrian-Americans who
objected to killing their own friends and family in the trenches.

But
for Holmes, none of this mattered.


Starting
with the obnoxiously famous remark — “The most stringent
protection of free speech would not protect a man in falsely shouting
fire in a theatre and causing a panic” — Holmes argued further:
“When a nation is at war, many things that might be said in time of
peace are such a hindrance to its effort that their utterance will
not be endured so long as men fight, and that no Court could regard
them as protected by any constitutional right.”


This
was essentially an eloquent, lawyer-speak translation of Attorney
General Thomas Gregory’s chilling
promise to
the anti-war movement: “May God have mercy on them, for they need
expect none from an outraged people and an avenging government.”

Schenk
was found guilty and so were many others.

Few
high-profile socialists avoided the reach of the Espionage and
Sedition Acts, which defined both “espionage” and “sedition”
as almost any criticism of the war. A very partial list of targets
would include Eugene Debs, Rose Pastor Stokes, Joseph Stilson,
Frederick Krafft, Abraham Sugarman, and Edwin Firth.


Not
to mention less famous people like Walter Matthey in Iowa, who was
sentenced to a year in jail for (in the words of the attorney
general) “attending a meeting, listening to an address in which
disloyal utterances were made, applauding some of the statements made
by the speaker… and contributing 25 cents.” (Details of all these

Support and Flag Worship

Thankfully,
we have the “fourth estate” for times like these: dogged,
fearless, whiskey-drinking journalists working through the night to
keep our democracy on life support.

Here’s
a sample of how the New
York Times’ editorial
board approached this mission during and after the war (again,
documented by Peterson and Fite):

  • “It
    is the duty of every good citizen to communicate to the proper
    authorities any evidence of sedition that comes to his notice”
    (June 6, 1917).

  • “The
    Selective Draft Act gives a long and sorely needed means of
    disciplining a certain insolent foreign element in this nation”
    (June 10, 1917).

  • “The
    I.W.W. [Industrial Workers of the World] agitators are, in effect,
    and perhaps in fact, agents of Germany. The Federal Authorities
    should make short work of these treasonable conspirators against the
    United States” (August 4, 1917).

  • “There
    is no reason for sympathy with [Eugene] Debs” (March 12, 1919).

  • “[Amnesty
    for political prisoners] is of impudence and unreason all compact”
    (April 5, 1921).

Meanwhile,
the Washington
Post lamented
the lack of war enthusiasm on the East Coast, in contrast to the
“healthful and wholesome awakening in the interior of the country,”
which was praiseworthy “in spite of excesses such as lynching.”


Other
“excesses” included tarring-and-feathering, vandalism against
people who didn’t buy enough Liberty Bonds, the burning of German
books, and — almost unbelievably — rituals
of forced flag-kissing, which,
“by 1918, had become so frequent” that they were “hardly
first-rate news.”

Eerily,
Peterson and Fite recount: “Along with flag-kissing came a great
sensitiveness about respect for the national anthem,” as
“disorderly conduct” fines were dished out to people who failed
to stand for the Star-Spangled Banner across the country.

The
main reason we know about these events is because they were
meticulously documented by an obscure organization called the
National Civil Liberties Bureau, initially part of the American Union
Against Militarism.


On
August 31, 1918, the Bureau had
its New York City offices raided and
records seized by the Justice Department.

Yet,
it survived the war years, and renamed and reorganized itself into
what we now know as the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) — a
crucial, if not saintly, defender of the Bill of Rights ever since.

The
ACLU will be the first to tell you that we are now living under a
president whose gutter patriotism and disdain for free speech rivals
the worst demagogues of that shameful era.


As
this same president edges closer to war with Iran — and continues
the permanent war against “terrorists” — we would do well to
heed the advice of Wisconsin Senator Robert LaFollette, expressed
in one
of Congress’s greatest speeches on
April 4, 1917:


“We
should not seek to hide our blunder behind the smoke of battle to
inflame the mind of our people by half-truths into the frenzy of war
in order that they may never appreciate the real cause of it until it
is too late.”

Weet je waarom je tegenwoordig op de meeste vliegvelden door een onveilige lichaamsscanner moet? Juist, vanwege de ‘onderbroekterrorist!’ Op eerste kerstdag 2009 vond het incident met deze ‘onderbroekterrorist’ plaats

Je kon er de klok eigenlijk al op gelijkzetten, een kulverhaal……. Uit een
bericht van Brasschek TV dat ik afgelopen zaterdag ontving, blijkt alweer dat we op grote schaal zijn besodemieterd!

Het begon op Schiphol: 2 advocaten die op dezelfde vlucht zaten als de dader, zagen dat de dader geen papspoort had, waarop een woordenwisseling ontstond. Volgens de 2 stapte daarop een VS beambte naar voren en even later werd de dader, zonder paspoort toegelaten in het vliegtuig…..

De advocaten zijn ervan overtuigd, dat de dader een niet functionerende bom kreeg toegespeeld* door de VS overheid, met maar één doel: de invoering van de volledige lichaamsscan (full bodyscan) op vliegvelden……

De grote ‘spin’ in dit web van bedrog is Micheal Chertoff, ex-Homeland Security (DHS), mede auteur van de Patriot Act, samensteller van het memo ‘Torture is OK’, ook had hij de leiding over de dramatisch slechte hulpverlening in New Orleans, nadat de schermen (‘dijken’) die de stad moesten beschermen tegen hoogwater niet bleken te voldoen (Orkaan Katrina).

Chertoff werkt nu, samen met een aantal voormalige collega’s uit o.a. de CIA, NSA en Homeland Security voor het bedrijf dat deze bodyscanners levert aan vliegvelden in de VS en waarschijnlijk een aantal vliegvelden buiten de VS. Het zal me niet verbazen als ze ook op Schiphol staan, daar spreekt men met geruststellende woorden over deze ondingen, die daar eufemistisch ‘securityscan’ worden genoemd, gevaarlijke ondingen die zoals je kon lezen en in de video’s kan zien, volkomen ten onrechte in gebruik zijn genomen…..

Elektronisch Patiënten Dossier wordt middels LSP opgedrongen door overheid en zorgverzekeraars….. Laat u uitschrijven!

Gistermiddag na 15.30 u. op Radio1 (EenVandaag), aandacht voor het nieuwe Elektronisch Patiënten Dossier (EPD), het zogenaamde Landelijk Schakel Punt (LSP). Overheid en de Vereniging van Zorgaanbieders Voor Zorgcommunicatie (VZVZ) oefenen oneigenlijke druk uit op zorgverleners en patiënten om zich aan te sluiten bij dit LSP. Dit blijkt uit onderzoek van EenVandaag.

Zo worden meer en meer mensen geconfronteerd met onwillige apothekers, als zij niet zijn aangesloten bij het LSP…… Te zot voor woorden natuurlijk!

Een paar mensen deden hun verhaal: mensen die in het weekeinde, ‘s avonds of ‘s nachts, dus bij nood medische hulp zochten en uiteindelijk bij de apotheek te horen kregen, dat ze de medicijnen, op het aan hen door een noodarts verstrekte recept, niet kregen, daar ze niet waren aangesloten op dit LSP……….

Het kan ook anders: een fiks aantal mensen staat in het LSP, zonder dat zij daar ooit toestemming voor verleenden………..

Keer op eer blijkt dat persoonsgegevens niet veilig zijn, toevallig gistermorgen zo’n bericht: de gegevens van een paar honderdduizend Nederlanders liggen op straat door een ‘lek’ in het systeem, daarbij kunnen gegevens op straat komen te liggen als het BSN (burgerservicenummer, het oude sofinummer), bankrekeningnummers, medische gegevens en adressen…… In het eerste kwartaal van dit jaar werden bij de Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (AP) 2.300 datalekken gemeld, dat waren er in dezelfde periode vorig jaar nog 1.000…..

De autocratische PvdA topgraaier en hufter Aleid Wolfsen is voorzitter van de AP en liet weten, dat ‘we daar best van zijn geschrokken……’ ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ‘Best van geschrokken?’ Allemachtig bij die 1.000 in het eerste kwartaal van 2016 hadden alle seinen op rood moeten gaan!

Deze datalekken geven aan dat de persoonsgegevens niet veilig zijn bij het LSP. Daarnaast kan je stellen, dat met de LSP gegevens, ook mensen inzage krijgen die daartoe geen bevoegdheid hebben. Voorts krijgen zorgverzekeraars inzicht in de patiëntendossiers van individuele klanten……..

Vanmorgen werd bekend gemaakt dat er wereldwijd organisaties zijn gehackt, zoals de National Health Service (NHS) ziekenhuizen in Groot-Brittannië…… Ook dit voorval geeft eens te meer aan, dat opslag van persoonsgegeven, niet door instanties als het LSP bewaard en ‘bewaakt’ mogen worden!!

In reactie op de uitkomst van het EenVandaag onderzoek naar het LSP, stelde Gerben Klein Nulent, de topgraaier van de KNMP, de overkoepelende organisatie van apothekers, dat hij verbaasd is over de weigering van apothekers medicijnen te verstrekken aan mensen die niet zijn aangesloten bij het LSP……. ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Hoe is het in godsnaam mogelijk, dat een organisatie, die moet toezien op het handelen van haar leden, niet weet wat er in de praktijk gebeurd??!!!

De VZVZ stelt dat de weigering van medicijnen niet de bedoeling is van het LSP…… ha! ha! ha! ha! Dat mag je hopen!!! Eén ding is zeker: de zorgverzekeraars behoren tot de initiatiefnemers van het LSP, dus zijn zij tegelijkertijd één van de partijen, die belang hebben bij een zo groot mogelijke deelname aan dit nieuwe elektronisch patiëntendossier!

Nog een uitlating van de VZVZ op deze zaak: “Het gebruik ervan is een hulpmiddel voor medicatieveiligheid, geen doel op zich. VZVZ betwijfelt of het weigeren van medicatie de veiligheid van de patiënt dient….” ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Nee, hoe zou het mogelijk kunnen zijn, dat het weigeren van medicatie aan een patiënt met een acute aandoening, de veiligheid van deze patiënt ten goede zou kunnen komen…….. Jezus in een lekkende kano!!

De hoogste tijd om de bezem eens flink door de KNMP, de VZVZ en het LSP te halen, onkundige topgraaiers als Wolfsen dienen met een ferme punter onder de reet de straat op te worden geschopt, zonder aanspraak op afkoopsommen of uitkeringen!!!

Hier wat bezwaren tegen het LSP door de actiegroep ‘ikgeefgeentoestemming‘:

WAT
ZIJN DE BEZWAREN TEGEN HET EPD-LSP?

Het
EPD-LSP systeem wordt gepropageerd als manier om de zorgverlening
voor patiënten te verbeteren, en om medische fouten te voorkomen.
Maar aangezien er de afgelopen 5 jaar door medici en ICT experts
zoveel bezwaren en gevaren zijn aangetoond die aan de invoering van
een grootschalig EPD-LSP kleven, kan nu worden gesteld dat de opzet
niet leidt tot een verbetering van de persoonlijke zorgverlening maar
juist nieuwe risico’s introduceert als zorgverleners bij hun
behandeling uitgaan van informatie verkregen uit een grootschalig
onbetrouwbaar EPD-LSP systeem.

WAAROM
IS HET EPD-LSP ABSOLUUT ONVEILIG?

 Wij
onderschrijven de noodzaak van goede communicatie in de zorg en een
veilige (elektronische) uitwisseling van medische gegevens, maar
moeten concluderen dat een grootschalig landelijk ICT systeem voor de
uitwisseling van alle elektronische zorginformatie data onmogelijk
effectief te beveiligen is. De grote zwakte van het systeem is
dat bij de gegevensoverdracht nauwelijks te voorkomen is dat
zorgverleners die niet betrokken zijn bij een behandeling van u, toch
toegang hebben tot uw medische gegevens. En omdat er een groot risico
bestaat dat persoonlijke medische gegevens in handen kunnen komen van
onbevoegden. Zoals van verzekeringsinstanties, farmaceutische
bedrijven, sensatiepers, van boze buren, bedrogen echtgenoten,
criminelen of terroristen. Ook de kans dat de overheid gebruik kan
gaan maken van medische gegevens voor justitiële toepassing of voor
werk op gebied van de nationale inlichtingendiensten, wordt met een
eenvoudige elektronische inlog-optie vergroot.

Gevolg
is dat zowel individuele patiënten slachtoffer kunnen worden van
dergelijk misbruik, maar ook risico ontstaat voor bepaalde delen van
de bevolking voor bepaalde patiëntenpopulaties- en het ergste van
alles – de medische zorg van de gehele bevolking erdoor in gevaar
wordt gebracht.

En
in deze opsomming dient eveneens vermeld te worden dat de Amerikaanse
overheid, op grond van de Pariot Act en FISA Amendment Act via de
software fabrikant van het EPD, Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC)
integraal, buiten de Nederlandse wetgeving om, over al de medische
gegevens kan beschikken als zij daar aanleiding toe zien. Ook de NOS
maakte hier melding van.

WAT
ZIJN DE JURIDISCHE BEZWAREN TEGEN HET EPD-LSP? 

 Het
enige formele verschil met de eerdere opzet waarbij de overheid in
2008 ieders medische gegevens automatisch wilde gaan opnemen in het
EPD, is dat er sinds 1 januari 2013 van iedereen vooraf ‘toestemming’
gevraagd dient te worden of men akkoord gaat met de uitwisseling van
de gegevens via het EPD-LSP systeem wat die dag in werking trad.

Maar
in werkelijkheid beschermt de opzet van het huidige opt-in systeem de
privacy en keuzevrijheid van patiënten niet beter dan het
oorspronkelijke opt-out dwangsysteem, waarbij mensen schriftelijk
bezwaar dienden aan te tekenen als men niet akkoord ging.

Het
huidige systeem pretendeert dat u vrij bent om zelf te kiezen of u uw
arts, apotheek of VZVZ toestemming geeft voor het uitwisselen van uw
medische gegevens via het EPD-LSP. Compleet met mogelijkheden voor
het ‘altijd’ weer mogen intrekken van die toestemming en voor het
binnen dit opt-in systeem via opt-out aanbrengen van uitzonderingen
voor zorgverleners die geen gebruik van de gegevens zouden mogen
maken.
Maar de manier waarop de toestemming zelf wordt gevraagd
deugt eenvoudig niet.

Het
bezwaar zit hem in het feit dat de gevraagde ‘toestemming’ enkel
betrekking heeft op het gebruik van het medium (LSP), wat voor de
uitwisseling wordt gebruikt en niet voor de inhoud van de uit te
wisselen informatie, noch op het doelgebonden gebruik door de
ontvanger van medische persoonsgegevens. Dat is strijdig met de
vereisten van de van nationale Wet bescherming persoonsgegevens (Wbp)
en met de bescherming van de fundamentele grondrechten zoals
vastgelegd in het Europese Verdrag voor de Rechten van de Mens (EVRM in Engels: ECHR).

In
feite wordt u gevraagd om toestemming te geven om af te zien van uw
recht om zelf te kunnen bepalen welke medische informatie, voor welk
doel, in het kader van een behandeling, mogen worden uitgewisseld met
andere zorgverleners.

Wij raden u daarom aan om GEEN ‘TOESTEMMING’
te geven voor uitwisseling van uw medische gegevens via dit nieuwe
absoluut onveilige EPD systeem. En om uw huisarts en apotheker te
vragen om de uitwisseling van informatie, bij verwijzing of
uitschrijven van recepten, voorlopig te blijven doen op de
gebruikelijke wijze.

Controleer daarom of uw gegevens in dit systeem terug te vinden zijn >> daar zoals gezegd het medisch dossier van veel mensen in het LSP datasysteem zitten, zonder dat zij daar toestemming voor hebben gegeven!

Pré-Trump fascistoïde wetgeving in de VS……

Zag toevallig in een film afgelopen weekeinde, dat de PATRIOT Act (wetsvoorstel H.R. 3162), door een meerderheid van het congres aangenomen op 26 oktober 2001, ‘een leuke bepaling’ heeft voor vluchtelingen die zonder papieren illegaal het land binnenkomen.

Deze mensen mogen zonder inmenging van de rechterlijke macht, voor onbepaalde tijd worden vastgezet……… Dat is nog eens wat anders dan illegaliteit strafbaar stellen, zoals ‘Nederland’ heeft besloten, iets dat op zich al te zot is voor woorden!!*

Moet u nagaan, bijna zonder uitzondering is het de VS die enorme vluchtelingenstromen op gang heeft gebracht en brengt, met de door deze grootste terreurentiteit op aarde begonnen illegale oorlogen en met door de VS opgezette, gefinancierde en geregisseerde opstanden en staatsgrepen!!!

Overigens is die PATRIOT Act het gevolg van 911, NB aanslagen, die ook door de VS zijn gefinancierd en geregisseerd, zoveel is intussen meer dan duidelijk!!

* Al moet ik eerlijk toegeven, dat het in Nederland onofficieel niet heel anders is. Zo kunnen mensen zonder papieren, die ten onrechte zijn uitgeprocedeerd (terwijl ze uit landen komen waar oorlog is, zoals gezegd, veelal door het westen begonnen), keer op keer worden opgepakt en voor een paar maanden worden vastgezet……

Weet niet of u ook een raar gevoel krijgt bij de enorme ophef die is ontstaan, nadat Trump een tijdelijke maatregel afkondigde tegen inreizende moslims. Trump begon tot dusver geen illegale oorlog tegen een moslim land, zoals Obama wel heeft gedaan, waarbij deze ook nog eens de grote aanstichter achter de illegale oorlog tegen Syrië was…..* 



Ook Libië werd door de VS en een aantal andere EU landen, waaronder Nederland, ‘goed’ de vernieling in geholpen……

Waar was toen de verontwaardiging van al de mensen, die zich nu wel tegen Trump verzetten???

Maar het kan altijd nog gekker mensen: ‘vredesduif’ Obama heeft 3 keer een inreisverbod afgekondigd voor één of meerdere moslimlanden, in 2011, 2015 en zelfs vorig jaar nog. Misschien heb ik het gemist, maar volgens mij heb ik op een enkele mensenrechtenorganisatie na, geen hond gehoord, die zich daar druk om maakte…….. Ach ja, het ging toen natuurlijk ook om ‘onze eigen’ Obama….. Zóóóóón charismatische man en innemende persoonlijkheid….. Gedver!!

Laat men zich in het westen maar eens bezighouden met het tegengaan van illegale oorlogen, de grote producent van terroristen en terrorisme (een illegale oorlog is in feite de ultieme vorm van grootschalige terreur!!!)

current “librul” (liberale, AP) outrage about Trump’s announced policies
is somewhat amusing. Yes, these policies are bad, very bad. Trump is
bad. But so was Obama and so is Clinton. Protesting the policies of
one while not protesting when the other implemented the same policies
is insincere grandstanding.

Wherever
you look, those Trump policies are building directly on, or simply
repeat Obama policies. The now theatrically outraged people swallowed
those without a word of protest.

A
Trump order yesterday introduced a temporary ban on visa holders and
visa issuing to citizens of seven Middle East countries. These
countries are: Iraq, Syria, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen.
Those countries have one thing in
common. No terrorist who killed on U.S. soil originated from
them. The (few) terrorists who attacked within the U.S. came from the
Middle Eastern countries not on the list. Following Trump’s order,
outcries on social media and in various papers ensued. People went to
airports to protest. TV was there to spread the news.

But
it is nothing new that the citizens of those countries are targeted
with U.S. visa restrictions. It was Obama who introduced such
in 2015 and 2016. The Trump order links directly to them. It does not
name any country but refers to them as “countries
designated in Division O, Title II, Section 203 of the 2016
consolidated appropriations act.”

U.S
animosities against these countries is even older. According
to the former general Clark, plans were made to wage war
against six of the now named seven countries back in 2001. Yemen was
later added while Lebanon was (temporarily?) taken off the list. The
administrations change, the selected “enemies” stay the
same.

In
2011 Obama stopped processing Iraqi visa requests for
six month. That move was quite similar to Trump’s current one.
Where was the outcry in 2001? In 2011, 2015 and 2016? Is it only bad
when Trump restricts visits for certain people from certain
countries?

Sure,
Trump introduces his “outrageous” measures loud and
abruptly where Obama sneaked them in. But that is just different
marketing, not a different product.

This
morning CNN headlines: White
House discussing asking foreign visitors for social media info and
cell phone contacts. HOW OUTRAGEOUS! How can Trump even think of
such an invasion of privacy! Fake outrage – Obama had already signed
off on this. The plans to collect social media accounts of traveling
visitors and citizens were officially introduced in October
2016 and the implementation startedin
December 2016. The Trump White House is late in discussing the
issue.

Yesterday
Trump also issued a
memorandum to structure his National Security Council. It
says that the Director of National Intelligence and the chairman of
the Joint Chiefs of Staff

Staff
“shall attend” when it is pertinent to the issue in
question. “Librul” outrage ensues. Trump excludes the
DNI and CJCOS from the NSC! Obama’s first Defense Secretary calls it
a “huge mistake”! But a
comparison of the text Trump issued with the text Obama
issued when he came into office shows them to be mostly similar.
Nothing really relevant has changed. The “shall attend”
clause is exactly the
same.

Yesterday
people were protesting at airports against Trump’s temporary
immigration restrictions. Lots of outrage against Trump ensued on
social media over this and the other issues. The hypocrisy here
stinks to high heaven. Where were the protest when Obama did similar?

Where
are the protests demanding the repeal of the Patriot Act? Where are
the anti-war protests? These died as soon as Obama came into office.
They never came back even as Obama pursued polices that were, at
best, Republican light and far from any progressive ideal. Only fake
liberals, aka “libruls”, could agree with these. When Dick
Cheney is your
witness against Trump you have lost the plot.

Many
of the people coming out now against Trump would likely have
jubilated had Hilliary Clinton won the election and introduced the
exactly same policies. Protest against the system that is
incorporated in Trump, just as it is incorporated in Clinton, does
not come to their mind. Do they expect to be taken serious?

There
was no outrage today from any of the U.S. “libruls” and
their media outlets about last nights failedU.S.
military raid in Yemen. The rural home of a tribal leader’s
family, friendly with some Yemeni al-Qaeda members, was raided by a
special operations commando. A U.S. tiltrotor military aircraft was
shot down during the raid. One soldier was killed and several were
wounded. The U.S. commandos responded with their usual panic. They
killed anyone in sight and bombed the shit out of any nearby
structure.According
to Yemeni sources between 30 and 57 Yemenis were killed
including eight women and eight
children (graphic pics). The U.S. military claimed, as it
always does, that no civilians were hurt in the raid.

One
of the killed kids was the 8 year old daughter of al-Qaeda
propagandist Anwar al-Awlaki. (The targeted family is related to
al-Awlaki’s wife.) The girl was a
U.S. citizen. Under Obama the CIA had already assassinated her
father and her 16 year old brother. With Obama’s active help the Gulf
countries have been bombing and destroying Ýemen for nearly two
years. No U.S. demonstrations were held against this war.

Yemeni
sources say that at least two men were abducted by the U.S. military.
The Central Command press release only said that the raid had helped
to acquire “intelligence” about possible future terror
acts. That probably means that the prisoners will be tortured to
unveil such “intelligence” even as they may not have any.
The Obama administration had introduced new rules for the military on
how to handle detainees. The UN judged that the
application of some of these rules is torture. The “libruls”
will of course be outraged should any of those rules, which Obama
introduced, be used under a Trump administration.

The
hypocritical outrage against Trump for things Obama already did is
exactly what Trump wants
and needs. He keeps chasing the media and the Clintonistas around
the block. The impression he leaves, not only with his followers, is
that of a man who works a lot. 25 outrages out of 25 headlines in
just one week? “Impressive! That is way more than Obama
achieved!”

Trump
already filed for reelection. Who really wants to beat him will have
to attack him on fundamental issues. That is a problem for the
“libruls”. Obama and Clinton stand for the same terrible
policies Trump is pushing for. They are not as loud as Trump and
paint their aims in softer colors. But the difference is only one of
degree.

The
U.S., like many other “western” countries, needs
fundamentally different policies and politicians to become a more
just and social society. The current “librul” outcries take
energy away from achieving such.

“Muslim
ban” hypocrisy: Left quiet when Obama also halted visas: Why
was the Left silent when the Obama administration refused to issue
visas to Iraqis for six months?

other times the US has banned immigrants;
Donald Trump’s ‘Muslim ban’ is not the first time specific groups or
nationalities have been blocked from the US.

Ladar Levison, oprichter van Lavabit moet z’n mond houden

Onder druk van justitie in de VS heeft oprichter Levison van Lavabit, een bedrijf waar je versleuteld je informatie kon opslaan, zijn bedrijf opgedoekt. Onder andere Snowden gebruikte de service van Lavabit.

De VS is nu al zover opgetuigd als totalitaire politiestaat, o.a. door de ‘Patriot Act’, dat Levison zelfs niet aan de pers kan uitleggen, wat er allemaal speelt, daar hij is gewaarschuwd, dat bij verkeerd woordgebruik, strafvervolging zal plaatsvinden en hij zeker in de gevangenis zal belanden, waardoor hij zelfs niet alle redenen kan vertellen, waarom hij zijn bedrijf is gestart.

Aan die totalitaire politiestaat leveren wij regelmatig mensen uit en dan heb ik het niet eens over de doodstraf, of het vermaledijde ‘plea bargain’, waardoor het vaak slimmer is, maar schuld te bekennen, zelfs al ben je onschuldig, daar de kans levensgroot is, dat je veroordeeld wordt tot zeer lange gevangenisstraffen, als je je onschuld moeilijk, of zelfs volgens de rechter of jury, niet voldoende kan aantonen……
