Caitlin Johnstone heeft een prachtig sarcastisch artikel geschreven waarmee ze de verkiezingen in de VS verklaart. Op uiterst humoristische manier legt ze met een vergelijking uit dat het niet uitmaakt wie je kiest als VS burger. Het is in Australië, het thuisland van Caitlin, niet veel beter, ook daar 2 partijen die af en aan het land besturen, maar ook daar bijzonder weinig verschil in politieke besluitvorming. Het gaat hier om de Australian Labor Party en de Liberal/National Coalition, te vergelijken met de Republikeinse partij en de Democratische partij in de VS.
Voorts is het zo dat in de VS de kiezer misschien kan uitmaken wie er president wordt, maar het zijn de grote bedrijven en de spuugrijke miljonairs en miljardairs, die met hun geld het beleid bepalen dat de gekozen president zal voeren….. Anders gezegd: met dit geld bepalen deze plutocraten wat een president wel of niet mag doen…. Vandaar ook dat wanneer een kandidaat een maatregel belooft in te voeren mocht zij/hij gekozen worden, er niets van terechtkomt als dit de belangen van de plutocraten en grote bedrijven (met hun grootaandeelhouders) zal schaden…. Voorts is het zo dat de kandidaat met het meeste geld voor haar/zijn campagne de meeste kans maakt president te worden…. Immers: ‘hoe moeilijk’ is het om de grote massa leugens te laten geloven als die avond na avond worden herhaald?? (zoals het nazi-beest Goebbels al stelde: als je een leugen maar vaak genoeg herhaalt, wordt deze vanzelf waarheid (vrij vertaald)…..)
Gezien het voorgaande kan je dan ook niet anders dan de conclusie trekken dat de VS allesbehalve een democratie is (om nog maar te zwijgen over de manier waarop het een groot deel van de gekleurde stemmers onmogelijk wordt gemaakt te stemmen….)
‘Erg fijn ook’ te zien hoe snel Kamala Harris haar zorgen over wat er in de Gazastrook gebeurt (niets anders dan een volledige openlijk uitgevoerde genocide op de Palestijnen door de fascistische apartheidsstaat Israël) overboord heeft gezet en zelfs ongelofelijk onbeschoft stelt dat zij voor de bescherming van Israël staat, alsof dat de onderliggende partij is…. (al was ze als vicepresident al medeplichtig aan deze genocide, vanwege de enorme leveringen van bommen, raketten en ander oorlogstuig aan deze genocidaal psychopathische gestolen staat…) ICC let op: start een strafrechtelijk onderzoek naar deze presidentskandidaat (plus één tegen ‘genocide Joe’ Biden en de voorgaande VS presidenten!!) Laat zien wat jullie gerechtshof waard is!!

Jake Johnson van Common Dreams heeft een artikel geschreven over het onderzoek van ‘Americans for Tax Fairness’ (ATF), waaruit dit orgaan destilleerde dat de oligarchen in de VS voor de verkiezingen in 2020 het schunnig grote bedrag van 1,2 miljard dollar hebben gestoken, in wat men nog steeds ‘democratische verkiezingen’ durft te noemen…… Hoe bedoelt u: Russische manipulatie van westerse verkiezingen?? Het totale bedrag is nog veel groter, dit vanwege de bijdrage van Bloomberg en Steyer voor de eigen campagnes, daarmee kom je op een totaal bedrag van 2,6 miljard dollar, ofwel Bloomberg en Steyer hebben maar liefst 1,4 miljard dollar in de eigen campagnes gestoken!!! (hufter Bloomberg is o.a. eigenaar van een media orgaan, dat meerdere nieuwsplatforms bedient)
Niet dat dit onbekend terrein was, immers het is al jaren bekend dat de superwelgestelden kapitalen steken in regionale en landelijke verkiezingen en dat is nog buiten het veel hogere bedrag dat de grote bedrijven van de VS steken in de verkiezingen, ofwel een fiks aantal bedrijven dat geld in de verkiezingen steekt is op de één of andere manier in handen van die welgestelden….. (die zelf ook al geld in de verkiezingen steken….) Daarbij geven de grote bedrijven aan beide partijen geld, ‘logisch’ daar ze op die manier verzekerd zijn van overheidssteun door de volgende administratie (regering)….. Maar dat was het nog niet beste bezoeker: de massamedia in de VS zijn ook nog eens in handen van oligarchen of groepen van grote investeerders en op die manier kunnen de oligarchen de bevolking manipuleren in het kiezen van de volgende president…. Nogmaals: over manipulatie van verkiezingen gesproken, terwijl men daar ten onrechte Rusland van beschuldigd…….
Uit het voorgaande blijkt ten overvloede nog eens dat de verkiezingen in de VS al lang niets meer met democratie te maken hebben, de grote bedrijven en de oligarchen maken uit wie er wordt gekozen en om te voorkomen dat de grote arme onderlaag de kont tegen de krib zal gooien en voor een andere kandidaat zal stemmen, zijn de mogelijkheden om te stemmen voor die onderlaag nog verder bemoeilijkt in de staten waar de Republikeinen nu aan de macht zijn….. Biden had e.e.a. kunnen voorkomen, maar heeft dat niet gedaan, zoals het afschaffen van het meer dan belachelijke verschijnsel dat ‘filibuster’ wordt genoemd (bijvoorbeeld een telefoonboek oplezen om te voorkomen dat er wordt gestemd over een bepaalde zaak, wat overigens ook nog eens bewijst dat het politieke ‘handwerk’ in de VS niet veel beter, of zelfs hetzelfde is dan in de eerste beste dictatuur waar men ‘verkiezingen’ organiseert…..)
Daarnaast is de politiek in de VS zo corrupt als de hel, maar ja wat wil je als de politici door oligarchen worden gekocht en waar de media hen de hemel in prijzen……. Het één en ander zorgt er ook nog eens voor dat een derde partij naast die van de Democraten en Republikeinen geen kans maakt om werkelijk een verschil te maken, zelfs niet als die partij een enorm bedrag steekt in de verkiezingen zoals het al gegeven voorbeeld van Bloomberg en Steyer….. Uiteraard zijn daarvoor ook de reguliere (massa-) media verantwoordelijk >> de eigenaren oligarchen van die media willen de huidige neoliberaal kapitalistische status quo koste wat kost in stand houden en daarbij is er geen plaats voor een derde partij….. (‘een derde partij zou de zaak ernstig kunnen verstoren en dat moet ten allen tijde worden voorkomen, veronderstel dat de oligarchen en grote bedrijven echt belasting moeten gaan betalen!!!’) Vandaar ook dat die media om het hardst schreeuwen dat de sociale media moeten worden gecensureerd >> tja je wilt nu eenmaal niet dat het volk gaat begrijpen dat ze vreselijk worden belazerd door de reguliere westerse media, politiek en bedrijfsleven……
Oligarchen hebben grote aandelenpakketten en derhalve belang bij hoge koersen van aandelen in olie/gas, de wapenindustrie, de farmaceuten, de grote techbedrijven en de financiële maffia, vandaar ook hun grote inzet en die van bedrijven voor verkiezingen, waarbij de enige winnaars de Republikeinen en Democraten mogen zijn……. Vandaar ook dat de progressieven in de Democratische Partij nooit aan de macht mogen komen, immers die zouden het lobbyisme in Washington wel eens flink kunnen verstoren, waardoor de belangen van de oligarchen en en bedrijven ondergeschikt zouden kunnen raken aan die van het volk….. (terwijl dat juist de bedoeling is met een volksvertegenwoordiging!!)
Niet voor niets ook dat Hillary Clinton een uiterst smerig spel speelde tijdens de Democratische voorverkiezingen van 2016, zodat Bernie Sanders deze verloor…. (overigens herhaald door Biden en zijn team bij de Democratische voorverkiezingen van 2020) Toen e.e.a. bekend werd gemaakt heeft Clinton met haar team de smerige Russiagate leugen in de wereld geholpen…… Die leugen wordt ondanks alle bewijzen van het tegenovergestelde, dus dat Clinton zelf de hoofddader was, nog steeds geventileerd in de westerse reguliere media, waarbij men Rusland blijvend demoniseert als manipulator van de verkiezingen in de VS…… (overgenomen door andere westerse landen (zelfs in ons land….. ha! ha! ha!), ofwel die landen stellen dat ook hun verkiezingen worden gemanipuleerd door Rusland, zonder daar ook maar één steekhoudend bewijs voor te kunnen leveren…..)
Bij het voorgaande moet nog opgemerkt worden dat het verschil tussen Democraten en Republikeinen minimaal is >> zie wat dat betreft ook de maatregelen die Trump nam, zoals die tegen vluchtelingen uit Latijns-Amerika. Tijdens de campagne beloofde Biden daar verandering in te zullen brengen en maatregelen terug te zullen draaien, echter als president houdt Biden deze maatregelen in stand en dat is maar één van de vele zaken die Biden niet aanpakt terwijl hij dat wel beloofde…… (zo worden ouders nog steeds gescheiden van hun kinderen en worden ze beiden gevangen gehouden op een manier die het best te vergelijken is met een concentratiekamp en daarom volkomen ingaat tegen het VN Vluchtelingenverdrag, waarbij de mensenrechten op ernstige schaal worden geschonden……)

‘Time for Citizens United to Go’: US Oligarchs Poured $1.2 Billion Into 2020 Elections
The
figure represents a 39-fold increase compared to spending in 2010, the
first election held after the widely decried ruling by the U.S. Supreme
Court.
Marking the 12th anniversary of the Supreme Court’s landmark Citizens United decision, the advocacy group Americans for Tax Fairness on Friday published a report showing that U.S. billionaires dumped a staggering $1.2 billion into the 2020 elections—a 39-fold increase compared to 2010.
Over the course of the 2020 election cycle, ATF found, America’s 661
billionaires contributed nearly $1 out of every $10 spent attempting to
influence the outcome and determine who sets policy for a nation of 330
million.
“Billionaires shouldn’t get to use their enormous wealth to pick and choose who they want in office.”
Nearly a third of the billionaire campaign funding in
2020 came from the mega-rich couple Sheldon and Miriam Adelson—former
President Donald Trump’s top donors—and former New York City Mayor
Michael Bloomberg, who doled out $152.5 million during the 2020 election
cycle, not including the $1.1 billion he spent on his own short-lived
White House bid.
Democratic businessman Tom Steyer, his wife
Kathryn Taylor, and Republican hedge fund manager Ken Griffin also spent
big in 2020, collectively donating over $400 million.
Frank
Clemente, ATF’s executive director, said in a statement that the
findings lay bare the “disastrous” consequences of the high court’s 2010
ruling in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission, which toppled longstanding campaign finance restrictions and opened the floodgates to unlimited election spending by corporations and rich individuals.
And
the reason billionaires have so much cash to give to political
campaigns, Clemente stressed, is that they’ve been able to accumulate
vast fortunes without any real threat of higher taxes. ATF estimated
in a separate report out earlier this week that the 10 richest U.S.
billionaires have added $1 billion to their combined wealth every day of
the pandemic.
“Weak taxation of the wealthy combined with anemic
regulation of campaign fundraising have handed America’s billionaires
outsized political influence to go along with their huge economic
clout,” said Clemente.
According to ATF’s analysis, the distribution of billionaire cash
between Republican and Democratic candidates was pretty evenly split in
2020, with 55% of the total going to GOP campaigns.
“In the 2010
election cycle, billionaires gave $19 million to Republicans and $11
million to Democrats,” ATF noted. “By the 2020 cycle, those respective
figures were $656 million and $539 million.”
“The secret political spending we have seen over the last 12 years has corrupted our political process”
The
advocacy organization argued that such campaign donations “are a
profitable investment: they buy access to politicians and influence over
tax and other policies that can save tycoons billions of dollars.”
“While
that $1.2 billion ‘investment’ in 2020 was massive, it totaled less
than 0.1% of billionaire wealth (and less than one day’s worth of their
pandemic wealth growth), leaving almost unlimited room for future growth
in billionaire campaign spending,” the group warned.
In recent years, members of Congress have introduced constitutional amendments aimed at overturning Citizens United,
but none of the efforts have gotten off the ground. A number of state
and local governments have also passed resolutions urging Congress to
take action to reverse the 2010 decision, to no avail.
“Corporations
are not people, and billionaires shouldn’t get to use their enormous
wealth to pick and choose who they want in office,” ATF said Friday.
“It’s well beyond time for Citizens United to go, and to put real action towards getting big money out of politics. Our democracy depends on it.”
Lisa
Gilbert, executive vice president of the consumer advocacy group Public
Citizen, said in a statement marking the ruling’s anniversary that “the
secret political spending we have seen over the last 12 years has
corrupted our political process toward corporate interests and robbed
citizens of authentic representation.”
“It plays a large role in
the failures to defend our democracy, pass Build Back Better, address
climate change, fix our healthcare system, and much more,” said Gilbert.
“The amount of money flowing into our elections is unprecedented and
increases every cycle. A handful of billionaires exert enormous
influence over our politics. And as a result, elected officials have
grown ever more responsive to the desires of corporations and the
ultrawealthy at the expense of their constituents.”

Je kan de gouverneur van Texas, Greg Abbott gerust een neonazi noemen, deze schoft heeft het voor elkaar gekregen dat mensen die een ‘illegale abortus’ verklikken een bedrag krijgen van $ 10,000.–…… Je kan er op wachten dat buren die ruzie hebben elkaar zullen verklikken, zoals dit ook in nazi-Duitsland gebeurde (en tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog in Nederland, waar mensen kopgeld kregen als ze een ondergedoken Jood of anderszins gezochte persoon verraadden bij de nazi-bezettingsmacht)
Het VS ministerie van justitie heeft laten weten dat de federale overheid vrouwen in bescherming zal nemen als zij een abortus zoeken of worden vervolgd vanwege een abortus, zo liet procureur-generaal Merrick Garland weten. Geweld tegen vrouwen zal niet worden getolereerd aldus het ministerie.
De belofte van een beloning voor het klikken zal religieuze psychopaten laten geloven dat ze gevrijwaard zullen worden van vervolging als ze geweld gebruiken tegen een vrouw die abortus zoekt of heeft ondergaan, hetzelfde geldt voor personeel van klinieken die helpen bij de abortus….. Vergeet niet dat er in de VS al meerdere artsen en verpleegkundigen van abortusklinieken zijn aangevallen door dit soort gekken, die zelfs niet terugdeinzen voor moord, zoals de geschiedenis laat zien……
Voorts komt het leven van vrouwen in gevaar die vanwege deze Texaanse wetgeving dan maar stiekem abortus laten plegen door leken, die tegen een fiks bedrag wel een abortus willen opwekken…….
Texas is de eerste staat met zo’n draconische wetgeving tegen abortus, maar is allesbehalve alleen als het gaat om het terugdraaien van het recht voor vrouwen op zelfbeschikking van het eigen lichaam, te vrezen valt dan ook dat het voorbeeld van Texas door andere door Republikeinen geregeerde staten zal worden gevolgd…..
Garland, de procureur-generaal en zijn ministerie kunnen wel zeggen dat ze geweld tegen vrouwen zullen tegengaan en het recht op zelfbeschikking van vrouwen op hun lichaam zullen beschermen, maar het is maar de vraag wat deze woorden waard zijn, zeker als je ziet dat het Supreme Court (qua macht te vergelijken met ons hooggerechtshof), gedomineerd door Republikeinse psychopaten, al heeft gezegd dat Texas het recht heeft om dergelijke wetgeving in te voeren en deze niet zal terugdraaien…… Moet je nagaan: deze wetgeving gaat zelfs in tegen internationale wetgeving en is zonder meer een enorme schending van mensenrechten, niet voor niets ook dat de VN de nieuwe Texaanse wetgeving heeft veroordeeld……

The federal government will take action to protect women in Texas trying to obtain an abortion in the wake of the strictest anti-abortion law in the US taking effect last week, the attorney general, Merrick Garland, announced on Monday.
The
Department of Justice said it would not tolerate violence against
anyone seeking abortion services in the state and that federal officials
were exploring options to challenge the ban on almost all terminations,
with the new state law also empowering the public to enforce it in a
way critics decry as promoting vigilantism.
United
Nations human rights monitors have strongly condemned the state of
Texas, which they say violates international law by denying women
control over their bodies and endangering their lives.
What did Garland say? He issued a statement
that said the DoJ would “protect those seeking to obtain or provide
reproductive health services” under a federal law known as the Freedom
of Access to Clinic Entrances (or Face) Act.

Care2 is een petitie gestart tegen de overheidssubsidie in de VS voor de (grote) oliemaatschappijen: al decennialang krijgen deze maatschappijen overheidssteun (terwijl ze al schathemelrijk zijn), krijgen daarnaast volkomen onterecht belastingvoordeel en voorts worden de mazen in de wet niet gedicht waarmee deze maatschappijen de belasting kunnen ontduiken….. (deze mazen in de wet worden niet zelden met opzet gecreëerd….)
Zoals je wellicht weet neem ik regelmatig petities over van het Care2 team, echter van deze petitie werd ik triest daar het Care2 team stelt dat de Republikeinen grote tegenstanders zijn van het intrekken van die onterechte subsidies en een belastinghervorming die tot eerlijk belasten van grote bedrijven t.o.v. burgers zou moeten leiden (burgers betalen in verhouding veel te veel….)…… Uit de petitie blijkt dat het Care2 team de Democraten een stuk hoger inschat dan de Republikeinen…… (iets wat ik misschien dom genoeg niet verwachtte) Begrijp me niet verkeerd, de Republikeinen kunnen wat mij betreft niet genoeg aan de paal worden genageld, echter denken dat de Democraten volkomen tegenovergesteld handelen als het om oliemaatschappijen, de financiële maffia en andere sectoren gaat, is bijzonder naïef en getuigt op z’n minst van onwetendheid dan wel het bevoordelen van een politieke partij die minstens zo slecht is als de Republikeinse, zolang deze maar het etiket ‘Democraten’ draagt……
Het voorgaande doet niets af aan het smerige ronduit misdadig handelen dat olie- en gasmaatschappijen (plus steenkoolboeren) jaarlijks miljarden aan subsidies ontvangen van overheden, terwijl ze ons aller thuis, de aarde naar de vernieling helpen…. Voorts mogen deze bedrijven bijvoorbeeld het zwaar vervuilde water dat overblijft na fracken met chemische stoffen voor schalie-olie en gaswinning lozen op open water…… (dit water eerst reinigen brengt aanzienlijke kosten met zich mee, terwijl het lozen van dit water zoals je begrijpt zware vervuiling veroorzaakt en het leven in het water vernietigt…..)
Het is in Nederland overigens geen haar beter, jaarlijks krijgt de fossiele industrie van onze overheid 8,3 miljard euro een subsidie, daarbovenop krijgen deze bedrijven ook van de EU nog miljarden aan subsidie….. Kortom: wij betalen jaarlijks een fiks bedrag voor het vernielen van de aarde, ons aller thuis….. En dan durven de oliemaatschappijen nog aan te kloppen bij regeringen voor vergroeningssubsidie…… Vergeet bij dit alles niet dat de kosten voor weergerelateerde rampen, veroorzaakt door de klimaatverandering ook nog eens op het gewone volk worden afgewenteld, zoals ook het verhogen van dijken vanwege de stijgende zeespiegel en ook dat is het gevolg van de klimaatverandering……..
De oliemaatschappijen geven jaarlijks miljarden uit voor lobby bij overheden en om de klimaatverandering te ontkennen, terwijl Exxon en Shell resp. in de 70er en 80er jaren van de vorige eeuw uit eigen diepgravend onderzoek al wisten dat de snelle klimaatverandering wordt veroorzaakt door de verbranding van fossiel brandstoffen, om die onderzoeken daarna weg te stoppen en ‘wetenschappers’ te betalen om te ontkennen dat de klimaatverandering door de mens wordt veroorzaakt……. Hoe smerig, misdadig en zot wil je het hebben??!!! Schande!!
Wij kunnen de petitie uiteraard niet tekenen, maar heb deze toch overgenomen om nogmaals te laten zien hoe smerig e.e.a. in elkaar steekt en dan durft het misdadigerskabinet Rutte 3 keihard te liegen dat er geen geld is om verpleegkundigen en verzorgenden structureel meer te betalen en mogen wij ons scheel betalen aan de zwaar gekortwiekte zorgverzekering….

De VS, het land dat zo vaak op de trom roffelt als zou het de promotor en beschermer zijn van democratie, steunt maar al te vaak juist antidemocratische krachten, zelfs terroristische dictators (zoals de reli-fascistische dictators in Saoedi-Arabië)…. In eigen land doet men in de VS niet anders: in een aantal door Republikeinen bestuurde staten, waaronder Georgia, zijn wetten aangenomen, ofwel in voorbereiding die het voor de gekleurde burgers moeilijk zo niet onmogelijk moet maken dat ze nog kunnen stemmen, niet alleen is dit een zware schending van democratische rechten (terwijl de VS in feite geen democratie is), maar geeft het ten overvloede nog eens aan dat de apartheid in de VS nog steeds onderhuids bestaat en dat racisme door een heel groot deel van de witte meerderheid als een normale zaak wordt gezien…….
Veel arme gekleurden wonen dichtbij zwaar vervuilende bedrijven, de overheden nemen de gezondheidsschade door de uitstoot van die bedrijven ‘voor lief’ en noemt de wijken waar deze mensen wonen ‘Sacrifice Zones….’* Zelfs de Coronacrisis laat zien dat er nog steeds apartheid bestaat in de VS, daar m.n. de gekleurde bevolking onevenredig hard is getroffen met veel overlijdens aan dat virus, wat alles te maken heeft met de grote armoede onder die bevolkingsgroep, armoede is dan ook een garantie voor een slechte gezondheid (waar velen zich niet eens kunnen verzekeren tegen ziektekosten), daar ongezonde goedkope voeding het immuunsysteem aantast en daarmee ‘de weg in het lichaam vrijmaakt’ voor besmettelijke ziekten als COVID-19……
Jake Johnson heeft op Common Dreams een artikel geschreven waarin hij de genoemde bedrijven en anderen waaronder Coca-Cola, Pfizer, AT&T en Walmart over de hekel haalt als sponsors van apartheid en racisme, daar deze bedrijven de Republikeinen steunen die juist uit alle macht proberen om het de gekleurden onmogelijk te maken nog hun stem uit te brengen in toekomstige verkiezingen……
De bedrijven waarom het gaat zeggen uiteraard niet dat ze voor het tegenhouden van gekleurden bij verkiezingen zijn, sterker nog: ze doen net alsof ze voor een eerlijk stemrecht zijn, echter in de praktijk blijven ze de sponsors van Republikeinen die het tegenovergestelde nastreven middels wetgeving…… Moet je nagaan: dit een goed jaar na de Black Lives Matter (BLM) protesten……
Zoals Trump een paar jaar geleden terecht opmerkte: als alle gekleurde ‘Amerikanen’ zouden stemmen zou de Republikeinse Partij nooit meer aan de macht komen…….

Since
2015, AT&T, Comcast, UnitedHealth Group, Walmart, and other big
businesses have donated a combined $50 million to state Republican
lawmakers who are currently supporting voter suppression bills across
the United States—generous political spending at odds with recent corporate efforts to rebrand as defenders of voting rights.
A new report
(pdf) released Monday morning by consumer advocacy group Public Citizen
found that during the 2020 election cycle alone, U.S. corporations
donated $22 million to Republican architects of voter suppression bills
that are advancing through state legislatures nationwide.
“AT&T [since 2015] has given the most, $811,000,” Public Citizen
found, citing data from The National Institute on Money in Politics.
“AT&T is followed by Altria/Philip Morris, Comcast, UnitedHealth
Group, Walmart, State Farm, and Pfizer. Household names that fell just
out of the top 25 list… include Nationwide ($182,000), Merck
($180,000), CVS ($174,000), John Deere ($159,000), and Caterpillar
($157,000).”
“This is why you follow the money, not the good PR,” Public Citizen tweeted.
The group’s findings came after a number of prominent corporations—including AT&T, Comcast, and Georgia-based companies Coca-Cola and Delta—issued statements denouncing a sweeping Georgia voter suppression measure only after Republican Gov. Brian Kemp signed it into law last month.
Despite vocal demands for them to speak out and use their influence to fight the bill, those companies were largely quiet as the measure made its way through Georgia’s Republican-dominated legislature.
Between 2015 and 2020, according to Public Citizen, corporations
donated more than $10.8 million to Georgia Republicans who are
supporting the 26 voter suppression bills that have been introduced in
the state’s legislature this year. Corporations have also donated big to
voter suppression advocates in Texas, Arizona, Virginia, Iowa,
Pennsylvania, and Arkansas.
“From coast to coast, politicians that Corporate America helped elect
are pushing racist voter suppression laws,” Rick Claypool, research
director for Public Citizen’s president’s office and one of the authors
of the new report, told Common Dreams.
“No matter how many PR statements Big Business puts out, its
complicity with the anti-democratic forces that want to make voting
harder is clear,” Claypool added. “Corporations should keep their money
out of our democracy—and Congress must put the people back in charge by
swiftly passing the For The People Act.”
According to the latest tally
by the Brennan Center for Justice, legislators have introduced 361
bills with vote-restricting provisions in 47 states this year, and five
have become law.
In the wake of the January 6 Capitol insurrection by a mob of Trump supporters, many large corporations vowed to temporarily suspend all political giving as they faced backlash for financially supporting Republican members of Congress who helped provoke the attack with brazen lies about the 2020 presidential election.
But Public Citizen argued Monday that such face-saving efforts—as
well as belated disavowals of voter suppression measures—”will amount to
a meaningless gesture if corporations continue to bankroll the bills’
supporters with future campaign contributions.”
“The days in which corporate America can fund politicians and then
claim no responsibly for their actions may be coming to an end,” the
group said. “Corporations seeking to demonstrate their reverence for our
democracy could best do so by ending their attempts to influence the
outcomes of elections at the federal and state levels.”

Donderde
weer eens van m’n stoel toen ik afgelopen zaterdag het
hierna opgenomen artikel van Common Dreams (CD) las. Ik wist al wel
dat de verhoging van het minimumloon in de VS was gestrand in de
senaat, een loon dat nu ligt op een beschamende $7.25 per uur, een
bedrag waarvan je onmogelijk kan rondkomen in de VS….. Althans als
je gezond wilt eten en een nog enigszins fatsoenlijk (maar goedkoop)
huis wilt bewonen….. De VS waar een groot deel van de bevolking zelfs geen recht heeft op
vergoedingen op het gebied van medische zorg (er overlijden dagelijks fikse
aantallen mensen in de VS die gered hadden kunnen worden met
bijvoorbeeld een kankertherapie, echter dat is voor velen niet te betalen, zeker als je
daar een minimumloon hebt [en niet vanwege je beroep bent verzekerd], wat overigens ook geldt voor grote groepen
die meer dan het minimumloon verdienen…..)
Uit het
CD artikel blijkt ook nog eens dat de Republikeinen die allen tegen
waren, stemmen tekort kwamen maar uit ‘onverwachte hoek’ steun kregen
van 8 Democratische collega’s en die 8 zijn zonder uitzondering
miljonair…..
Waar
haalt dit geteisem het gore lef vandaan? Wat een onmens moet je zijn
om alleen al tegen verhoging van het minimumloon te zijn, laat staan
als je zelf miljonair bent!!! Ze zouden dat geteisem alles moeten
afnemen, inclusief huis (of huizen) en ze verplicht 10 jaar op straat
moeten laten leven, op dezelfde manier zoals ze dit anderen
toewensen, dus zo min mogelijk hulp……… Wellicht dat ze dan
begrijpen wat het betekent om een arm mens te zijn…….
Gelukkig zijn er ook miljonairs in de VS die zicht tegen dit onrecht verzetten, zij hebben zich georganiseerd in Patriotic Millionaires en hebben ook in deze zaak verontwaardigd van zich laten horen.
Begrijp
werkelijk niet waarom er niet al lang een enorme opstand is
uitgebroken in het land van ‘the Amercan Dream’ (beter: ‘American
nightmare’, want dat is het voor een enorm groot deel van het
volk…)…. De VS een land dat meer dan 700 miljard per jaar uitgeeft
aan oorlogsvoering en intussen meer dan 60 miljoen burgers heeft die
wat hun eten betreft afhankelijk zijn van voedselbonnen…… De situatie in de VS is intussen zo verslechterd dat meer dan 14 miljoen kinderen honger lijden…… (je begrijpt dat het totale aaantal mensen dat hongerlijdt vele malen groter is….)
Je zou
bijna oproepen dat geteisem neer te schieten, maar je mag nu eenmaal
niet oproepen tot geweld op het internet ‘en dat is maar goed ook…..’
Tot slot: vergeet niet dat het minimumloon ook in Nederland veel te laag is en zoals in de VS kan je ook hier niet rondkomen van zo’n salaris!!

‘Shameful’:
Millionaire Senators Vote Against Popular Minimum Wage Raise That
Would Lift Millions Out of Poverty
“It
is despicable and unacceptable that there is not unanimous support
among Democrats in Congress for a $15 minimum wage,” said Rep.

After eight members of the
Democratic caucus joined all 50 Republicans in the U.S. Senate on
Friday to kill
an amendment reattaching a $15 minimum wage provision to the
Senate’s coronavirus relief package, progressives pointed out that
nearly every single one of the lawmakers who voted against the raise
for low-paid workers nationwide is a millionaire.
“Today’s vote on Senator
Sanders’ $15 minimum wage amendment is incredibly sad,” Morris
Pearl, chair of the Patriotic Millionaires and author of the
forthcoming book Tax the
Rich, said in a statement.
“$15 per hour is the bare
minimum anyone in this country needs to survive,” Pearl
continued, “and it is baffling that any member of the U.S.
Senate, much less a number of Democrats, could look at the crisis
this country is enduring and decide that tens of millions of
low-income workers, including millions of frontline workers who put
their lives on the line every day in the midst of a global pandemic,
should not get a raise.”
Nina Turner, co-chair of Bernie
Sanders’ 2020 presidential campaign and current candidate running for
election to the U.S. House in Ohio’s 11th district, responded to the
vote by tweeting:
“every single one of the senators who voted against raising the
minimum wage is a millionaire.”
Journalist Ken Klippenstein shared
the net worth, according
to the most recent financial disclosures compiled by the Center
for Responsive Politics, of the eight Democrats who voted
against Sanders’ (I-Vt.) $15 minimum wage amendment.
While
her present net worth may trail that of other lawmakers, Sen. Kyrsten
Sinema (D-Ariz.), was especially enthusiastic about denying a raise
to millions of poorly paid U.S. workers. With her $174,000 annual
salary, Sinema is well on her way to joining her wealthier
colleagues in the millionaire ranks.
The 8 Senators who just voted against the $15/hr minimum wage voted to keep 1 million people in poverty and voted AGAINST the wishes of 2/3 of Americans who want working people to get a living wage. #fightfor15
In his statement, Pearl said that
“the Senate failed the American people today.
“Every single Republican
Senator who voted against $15 today failed their constituents,”
he continued. “The Democrats who voted against $15 today not
only failed their constituents, the decision they made—to put some
ancient Senate tradition ahead of the priorities that they ran on and
that they stand for—was wrong economically, morally, and
politically.”
Pearl was referring to the fact
that Senate Democrats removed the $15 minimum wage provision
from their version of the Covid-19 relief bill after the White
House made clear that Vice President Kamala Harris would
not be willing to exercise her authority to override a
widely condemned advisory
opinion of the Senate parliamentarian—an unelected
official with zero constitutional authority—that deemed the
proposed pay hike a violation of budget reconciliation rules.
Sanders’ attempt to use the
amendment process to add a federal minimum wage increase to the
coronavirus relief legislation came in the wake of that decision.
“It is despicable and
unacceptable,” said
Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-N.Y.), “that there is not unanimous
support among Democrats in Congress for a $15 minimum wage.”
“There is no excuse,”
Pearl added. “Senator Kyrsten Sinema, Senator Jon Tester,
Senator Joe Manchin, Senator Chris Coons, Senator Jeanne Shaheen,
Senator Tom Carper, Senator Maggie Hassan, and Senator Angus King
failed both their people and their party. Neither those voting next
year nor those reading the history of the next generation will
appreciate those senators who could have changed the course of
history—but chose not to.”
Undeterred, Sanders
said Friday that “if any senator believes this is the last
time they will cast a vote on whether or not to give a raise to 32
million Americans, they are sorely mistaken. We’re going to keep
bringing it up, and we’re going to get it done because it is what the
American people demand and need.”
Joining Sanders was Rep. Pramila
Jayapal (D-Wash.), who tweeted
that she “will never stop fighting to make the minimum wage a
living wage.”
“It’s long overdue that we
give 32 million workers a raise and lift a million people out of
poverty,” Jayapal added.

Care2 team is eind december jl. een petitie begonnen om de de VS regering te laten weten dat men zich ernstig zorgen maakt over kinderen die in
kwetsbare situaties leven en hen te helpen, daar deze kinderen grote kans
lopen in hun volwassen leven niet alleen fysiek ziek te worden maar
ook geestelijk zwaar in de problemen te kunnen komen…… Het is wel duidelijk dat het Care2 team zich daarbij vooral richtte op de toen nog niet geïnaugureerde regering Biden/Harris.
Psychologen
hebben 10 punten opgesteld om trauma’s bij kinderen te meten men
noemt dit ‘Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)‘, het best
te vertalen als ‘vijandige kindertijd ervaringen’ (ja ik weet het
bepaald geen gelukkige vertaling).
Het
Care2 team noemt o.a. het naar de gevangenis gaan van één van de
ouders of een ander gezinslid, een poging tot zelfdoding van een gezinslid (of die poging nu wel of niet lukt), een ouder die een psychische stoornis
heeft opgelopen door gebruik van bepaalde middelen (dat kunnen
alcohol of andere harddrugs zijn, maar ook gebruik van zware
medicatie) en voorts wordt het onvoldoende krijgen van bepaalde
stoffen in voedsel*, waardoor het fysieke gestel van het
kind schade oploopt en het zal je niet verbazen dat dit een gevolg is
van armoede (al is armoede zelf al een veroorzaker van een trauma dat
kinderen in feite nooit kwijtraken, ook niet als ze volwassen zijn, dat geldt trouwens voor elk trauma dat een kind oploopt) Ook huisuitzetting door armoede veroorzaakt een groot trauma bij kinderen…… (en ja ook in Nederland worden gezinnen met kinderen uit hun huis gezegt, om over de trauma’s bij vluchtelingenkinderen nog maar te zwijgen: eerst een trauma door het vluchten uit hun moederland, dan het trauma van de totale route die in angst wordt afgelegd, waarna ze hier niet zelden trauma’s oplopen doordat de ouders bijvoorbeeld niet worden erkend als vluchteling, zelfs als ze uit oorlogsgebied Afghanistan of Irak komen…..)
Het
team noemt 3 zaken om e.e.a. tegen te gaan die de regering van de VS
moet nemen om e.e.a. tegen te gaan (die overigens ook gelden voor de
rest in het rijke westen, al gaan die niet alle 3 op voor ieder ander
land). Zo zou de VS regering moeten zorgen: -dat er veel minder
kinderen worden opgesloten (ook hier worden jaarlijks veel kinderen
gevangengezet, al stelt men dat het geen gevangenissen zijn), -dat
het minimumloon aanzienlijk wordt verhoogd en -zorg te dragen voor
gratis hulp aan kinderen die het slachtoffer zijn geworden van
misbruik. (waarbij ik nog wel wil opmerken dat er ook hulp moet komen
voor kinderen van wie één van de ouders, of een ander gezinslid de
gevangenis indraait)
Om ‘Democratisch links’ de wind uit de zeilen te nemen, heeft Biden intussen aangekondigd dat hij het minimumloon wil verhogen naar 15 dollar per uur, of hij dit voor de ‘bühne’ doet moet nog blijken, immers er zijn democraten in de senaat en het lagerhuis die hier geen voorstander van zijn….. Anders gezegd: het is denkbaar dat Biden dit heeft gezegd terwijl hij weet dat dit voorstel het niet zal halen, maar waarbij hij de linkse achterban van de Democratische Partij kan zeggen dat hij het tenminste geprobeerd heeft…. Vergeet niet dat Biden de linkse top van zijn partij geheel heeft buitengesloten van zijn administratie, terwijl hij wel schoften heeft aangesteld die goed liggen bij de Republikeinse Partij…..
In
de VS geeft de regering meer dan 700 miljard dollar uit aan
oorlogsvoering, echter de enorme armoede (inclusief honger) aanpakken is er niet bij…… Je kan het wel vergeten dat Biden het oorlogsbudget van Trump naar beneden zal bijstellen, sterker nog hij zal dit bedrag nog verder verhogen…..
Je
snapt dat wij deze petitie niet kunnen tekenen, echter ik vond het
belangrijk genoeg deze over te nemen, daar meer dan 600.000 kinderen
in Nederland met hetzelfde te maken hebben, zij leven in armoede en hebben maar al te vaak een huisuitzetting meegemaakt, een uiterst traumatiserende ervaring, waar zoals gezegd de armoede zelf al traumatiserend is, zoals nu wel algemeen wordt erkend, dergelijke trauma’s uit de kindertijd blijven zoals hiervoor al opgemerkt hen als volwassenen plagen tot de dood……
Bijzonder lullig dat juist de (veelal onzinnige) Coronamaatregelen leiden tot veel meer huiselijk geweld en misbruik van kinderen…….

expenses for our healthcare system and our society — as well as a
huge toll on each individual adult. By
truly investing resources into protecting children, we would vastly
improve the health of the U.S.

Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). This is a list of 10 things
that can happen to a child that dramatically increase their risk for
severe mental AND physical health ailments as adults. One of the 10
things is having a parent or family member go to jail or prison,
another is having a parent who suffers from Substance Use Disorder,
and yet another is not having their basic physical needs met due to
poverty. These
are solvable problems. Sign
the petition if you want to see real resources going to protecting
children from these ACEs.

parlementsverkiezingen was dat Corbyn die zou winnen, hij wilde met
Labour een werkelijk sociale koers varen en dit soort schandalen
voorgoed uitbannen, vandaar dat zijn neoliberale partijgenoten, de
media en de Tories de antisemitisme kaart speelden en hij de
verkiezingen verloor……. (de media en politiek hier en andere EU

Een
vreemde zet van Trump tijdens zijn laatste dagen in het Witte Huis:
hij heeft een groot aantal geheime FBI documenten aangaande Russiagate vrijgegeven.
Wat
iedereen al had kunnen weten (vooral de reguliere media en politici
in zowel de VS als de rest van het westen) is dat de voormalige Britse
agent Steele van MI6 expres zaken heeft gelekt die beschadigend waren voor
Trump zoals Robert Mueller al had aangetoond.
Steele
had 2 klanten, Hillary Clinton en de FBI, toen de CIA met de
beschuldiging kwam dat Clinton een smerig spel had gespeeld in
aanloop naar de presidentsverkiezingen in 2016 (wat Bernie Sanders de
nominatie tot Democratisch presidentskandidaat kostte), heeft Steele
zaken gelekt die beschadigend waren voor Trump, hij deed dat om
het misdadig gedrag van Clinton uit de wind te houden…….
Zoals
gezegd, iedereen die een beetje oplette (zoals D66 kwaadaardigheid
Ollongren met opzet niet deed) had kunnen weten dat het hele
Russiagate verhaal je reinste kul was. Echter de reguliere westerse
(massa-) media en de meeste politici bleven (en blijven nog) vasthouden aan het
Russiagate verhaal en dat heeft nogal wat gevolgen gehad, niet alleen
voor Rusland, maar ook voor de burgers in westerse landen, bij wie
haat en angst werd gezaaid tegen/voor de Russen….. Rusland werd
overal van beschuldigd ‘wat fout ging’ (in de ogen van politici en de
afhankelijke, niet objectieve westerse reguliere media), zoals het
Oekraïne referendum, het Brexit referendum en het Catalaanse
onafhankelijkheidsreferendum…… D66 oplichter en kwaadaardigheid Ollongren en anderen durfden een
paar maanden geleden de Russen zelfs alweer te beschuldigen van het
manipuleren van de Tweede Kamerverkiezingen a.s. 17 maart, zonder ook maar een flinter aan bewijs te geven…….. (dat deed Ollongren overigens al veel eerder en dat in aanloop van de Gemeenteraardsverkiezingen van 21 maart 2018 en de Statenverkiezingen van 20 maart 2019……..)
De

who today interviewed
John Solomon, who was formerly an executive and editor-in-chief
at The
Washington Times,
the remaining FBI documents on Russian collusion have been
declassified and could be released as soon as Monday.
Solomon,
an award-winning investigative journalist, said that the entire
narrative of Trump Collusion was created and leaked to the news media
to neutralize Hillary Clinton’s concern that her email scandal had
not gone away.
Solomon
also said while confirming to Dobbs, that indeed “he
can confirm”
that the President has delivered, “in
a big way”
on one of his last remaining promises; to authorize the release of
what he said is more than a “foot
high stack of documents”
– those which are the ones he said the FBI has tried to keep from the
public for four years.
Delivering in his
final days on one of his last unfulfilled promises, President Trump
is declassifying a massive trove of FBI documents showing the Russia
collusion story was leaked in the final weeks of the 2016 election in
an effort to counteract Hillary Clinton’s email scandal.
The memos to be
released as early as Friday include FBI interviews and human source
evaluation reports for two of the main informants in the Russia case,
former MI6 agent Christopher Steele and academic Stefan Halper.
The president
authorized the release of a foot-high stack of internal FBI and DOJ*
documents that detail significant flaws in the investigation and
provide a detailed timeline of when the FBI first realized the Steele
dossier was problematic, multiple government officials told Just the
News.
Among the bombshell
revelations is an admission by Steele that he violated his
confidential human source agreement with the FBI and leaked
information from his dossier to the news media in the final weeks of
the election because he wanted to counteract new revelations in the
Hillary Clinton email scandal that were hurting her election efforts.
The former foreign intelligence officer made the confession in a fall
2017 interview with agents.
Steele, who was hired
by Clinton’s campaign law firm to compile anti-Trump dossiers
attempting to link Trump to Russian influence, told agents he had two
clients at the time — Clinton and the FBI — and chose the
interests of the Democratic candidate over the bureau in leaking.
Steele told the bureau
that then-FBI Director James Comey’s decision to reopen the Clinton
email probe in fall 2016 triggered him to leak his dossier details in
what he described as a taking-the-gloves-off moment.
The FBI interview
summary makes clear that Steele, a British citizen, was allegiant to
Clinton, did not like Trump and believed a Trump presidency would be
negative for his homeland and thus made a decision to meddle in the
U.S. election by leaking information to the news media.
The leaks, which led
to Steele’s termination as an FBI informant, have been known for more
than a year, but his motivation for leaking was hidden in the
classified documents.
His admission that the
Russia collusion narrative, later debunked by Special Counsel Robert
Mueller, was injected into the public as a means of counteracting
Clinton’s email scandal corroborates other information obtained by
the CIA.
Late last year, the
Trump administration declassified evidence showing the CIA warned
President Obama and the FBI that it had intercepted intelligence
indicating Hillary Clinton had personally ordered up an operation to
“vilify” Trump with a false story of collusion as a m
eans
of distracting from the negative publicity of her email scandal.
Multiple
investigations have concluded that much of Steele’s dossier was
debunked or never corroborated by the FBI and likely contained
Russian disinformation planted with his sources.
The probes found the
FBI wrongly continued to rely on the allegations of Russia collusion
to target Trump campaign figures for investigation and failed to
disclose major flaws in their investigations to the courts that had
authorized surveillance warrants.
The investigation also
found that Steele’s primary source of Russian intel later disowned or
distanced himself from the claims attributed to him in the Steele
dossier and that U.S. intelligence had concerns the source was tied
to Russian intelligence.
The
soon-to-be-released records also expose a tantalizing connection
between Steele, his primary source and one of the Democrats’ key
impeachment witnesses in the Ukraine scandal, former Trump National
Security Council Russia expert Fiona Hill.
Steele divulged to the
FBI that he was introduced by Hill to his primary sub-source of
information for his anti-Trump dossier and that he later told Hill
that the source had provided information for his now infamous memos.
The documents also
will settle a long-debated question in Washington about whether the
FBI’s tactics amounted to spying on the Trump campaign.
Tasking instructions
the FBI gave to Halper, an academic who long worked as an FBI
informant, make clear he was instructed to infiltrate the Trump
campaign by posing as someone who wanted to work for the GOP nominee
and then targeting campaign advisers to find out what they knew about
Trump or his campaign’s ties to Russia.
Halper was
specifically instructed by the FBI to focus on campaign advisers Sam
Clovis, George Papadopoulos and Carter Page, in some cases recording
some of their conversations, the records are expected to show.
In her impeachment
testimony in 2019, Hill acknowledged she knew Steele since 2006 when
he worked for MI6 and she worked for the Bush administration.
She, however, did not
make any mention of introducing Steele’s primary subsource and in
fact expressed her own doubts about the Steele dossier, suggesting it
could very well have been Russian disinformation.
She said she held
“misgivings and concern that he could have been played” by the
Russians because they “would have an ax to grind against him given
the job that he had previously.”
“I don’t believe
it’s appropriate for him to have been hired to do this,” she
testified about Steele. “I almost fell over when I discovered
that he was doing this report.”

– The recent negotiations about a pandemic relief bill are a preview
of Joe Biden’s presidency.
U.S. President Donald
Trump asked for a $2,000 check for every U.S. citizen. ‘Moderates’
rejected to send checks. Some people on the left and right kept
pushing for them.
Trump
has privately indicated a willingness to send another round of
stimulus checks of as much as $2,000,
according to one person in direct communication with the president.
Congress in March approved a round of $1,200 stimulus checks that the
Treasury Department disbursed to more than 100 million American
families in a matter of weeks.
A
second round of stimulus checks was left out of the $908 billion
bipartisan framework unveiled last week by a group of moderate
lawmakers
hoping to break the months-long impasse over stimulus negotiations. Sens.
Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) and Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) have been pushing for
the checks to be included in the final package,
with Sanders going as far as saying he will vote against the relief
legislation unless they are approved.
“While the
amount is yet to be determined, direct payments to American workers
continue to be a high priority of the president’s,” a White House
spokesman said in a statement.
Congress compromised
on a paltry, means tested $600 check.
The measure
contains a $600 direct payment to Americans who earned up to $75,000
in 2019. That is less than the $1,200 checks approved in the
Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act in March.
It provides
$600 per child, up from $500 in the spring. The bill also includes
$1,200 for couples making up to $150,000 a year.
Some lawmakers on the
left and on the right are furious over the meager result.
Democratic
Hawaii Representative Tulsi Gabbard criticized the COVID-19 economic
stimulus bill passed by the U.S. House of Representatives on Monday,
calling the amount of direct assistance payments a “slap in the
face.”

billions of dollars going toward special interests, going toward the
military-industrial complex, going towards foreign countries
meanwhile saying, ‘Here’s what’s left for you. You get 600 bucks,'”

In a Sunday floor speech, Missouri
Senator Josh Hawley said the $600 checks were “hardly adequate
and we should not pretend otherwise.” Hawley forced a vote on
Sunday to raise the amount of the direct assistance to payments to
$1,200, the amount of direct payments allocated after the CARES Act
passed in March, but that attempt failed.
Turns out that
President-elect Joe Biden had sided with the ‘moderates’ who favored
not to send any check. He thereby successfully sabotaged those
Democrats who were pressing for a bigger one.

willingness of lawmakers to “reach across the aisle” and called
the effort a “model for the challenging work ahead for our nation.”
He was also not an idle bystander in the negotiations.
With
Republican and Democratic leaders in the House and Senate far apart
on how much they were willing to accept in new pandemic spending, Mr.
Biden on Dec. 2 threw his support behind the $900 billion plan being
pushed by the centrist group.
The total was less than half of the $2 trillion that Speaker Nancy
Pelosi and Senator Chuck Schumer, Democrat of New York, had been
insisting on.
Mr. Biden’s
move was not without risks. If it had failed to affect the
discussions, the president-elect risked looking powerless to move
Congress before he had taken the oath of office. But
members of both parties said his intervention was constructive and
gave Democrats confidence to pull back on their demands.
Biden and the
Democratic leadership have now settled for half of what they had been
offered three months ago.
In September,
as time wound down toward Election Day, the bipartisan “Problem
Solvers” group released a $1.5 trillion aid plan which they pitched
as a version of that theoretical compromise between Democratic and
Republican positions. Though the group contained some Democrats, it
was dismissed by Party leadership.
President
Donald Trump is demanding lawmakers raise the second round of
stimulus checks to $2,000 per person, from $600.
“I am
asking Congress to amend this bill and increase the ridiculously low
$600 to $2,000, or $4,000 for a couple,” Trump said in a video
posted to Twitter Tuesday night.
While the
president did not outright threaten a veto of the $900 billion Covid
relief bill, he did call it an unsuitable “disgrace.”
Three years ago the
Republicans enacted a $1.5 trillion tax cut for the rich. Now, pushed
from presidential power, they are again becoming deficit hawks.
The ‘moderate’ Joe
Biden and the ‘moderate’ leadership of the Democratic Party will
support them in that.

Het
is als de mantra van de Democratische Partij dat Trump een lakei van
Rusland zou zijn, terwijl hij de koude oorlog tegen
Rusland (nieuw) leven heeft ingeblazen en het land continu aan haar
westgrenzen te maken heeft met militaire oefeningen van de VS en de
andere NAVO-partners…….. (zo meer daarover)
De
minister van buitenlandse zaken onder Obama zal Antony ‘Tony’ Blinken zijn,
een havik die op meerdere gebieden de strijd aan wil gaan met China,
dus ook op economisch gebied, precies wat Trump heeft gedaan…..
Voorts heeft Blinken al aangegeven dat hij achter de demonstranten in
Hongkong staat en alles zal doen om hen te steunen en China dus dwars
te zitten….. Niet vreemd dus dat Blinken goed ligt bij de
Republikeinen……

Sullivan die Biden aan zal wijzen als National Security Advisor,
alweer een havik die stelt dat China zich opmaakt om de wereldleider
te worden ten koste van de VS……. Hoorde op 30 november een deel van BBC’s Hardtalk, een gesprek tussen de neoliberale hufter en presentator Stephen Sackur en de VS ambassadeur voor de EU onder Obama, Anthony Gardner. Deze liet weten dat Blinken een groot verschil zal maken met het buitenlandbeleid van de Trump administratie……… ha! ha! ha! ha! Dan te bedenken dat deze Blinken adviseur was voor oorlogsmisdadiger Obama (waar hij o.a. ook oorlogsmisdadiger Hillary Clinton adviseerde over het zo ongeveer vernietigen van Libië), Clinton was destijds de eerste minister van buitenlandse zaken in die administratie en werd opgevolgd door John Kerry.

als Biden een lakei van China zou zijn, zou hij zeker deze figuren
niet aanstellen, bovendien is hij afhankelijk van de senaat voor
goedkeuring van de kandidaten die hij aanwijst en is daarmee gebonden
wat betreft de keuzes die hij maakt (waarschijnlijk blijft de senaat
ook na a.s. 5 januari, wanneer er senaatsverkiezingen worden gehouden in Georgia, in handen van de Republikeinen, waardoor het
Biden moeilijk zal vallen om te regeren zonder steun van deze
partij……..
Ondanks
alles blijft men in de Republikeinse Partij pijlen afschieten op
Biden met fantastische verhalen dat hij de economie naar de knoppen
zal helpen met hulp van China……

getting the impression that Biden is going to be a sycophantic
Beijing lackey, though, with influential rightist voices pounding
that message into their skulls all day every day despite all evidence
to the contrary. Just today within hours of this writing you’ve got
Republican congressman Dan Crenshaw tweeting
that “Biden‘s plan is to let radicals destroy our economy,
with little if any benefit for the environment, and huge benefits for
China,” right-wing pundit Paul Joseph Watson labeling
the murderous war whore Blinken a “compromised SIMP for China”,
and bloodthirsty psychopath Tom Cotton proclaiming
on no basis whatsoever that Biden is “surrounding himself with
panda huggers who will only reinforce his instincts to go soft on
China.”
“Panda
huggers.” This is a sitting member of the US Senate.
As
Bob Gates said, Joe Biden has “been wrong on nearly every major
foreign policy and national security issue over the past four
decades.”
Now

This
complete schizm from reality, where you’ve got an incoming
administration stacked with Beltway insiders who want to attack
Chinese interests running alongside an alternate imaginary universe
in which Biden is a subservient CCP lackey, is only made possible
with the existence of media echo chambers. It’s the same exact
dynamic that made it possible for liberals to spend four years
shrieking conspiracy theories about the executive branch of the US
government being run by a literal Russian agent even as Trump
advanced mountains
of world-threatening cold war escalations
against Moscow in the real world.
You
see this dynamic at work in conventional media, where plutocrat-controlled
outlets like Breitbart are
still frantically pushing
the Russiagate sequel narrative
that Hunter Biden’s activities in China mean that his father is a CCP
asset. You also see it in social media, where, as explained by
journalist Jonathan Cook in
an article
about the documentary The
Social Dilemma,
“as we get herded into our echo chambers of self-reinforcing
information, we lose more and more sense of the real world and of
each other.”
“We
live in different information universes, chosen for us by algorithms
whose only criterion is how to maximise our attention for
advertisers’ products to generate greater profits for the internet
giants,” writes Cook.
Because
people are a lot more likely to click, read and share information
which validates their pre-existing opinions and follow people who do
the same, social media is notorious for the way it creates
tightly insulated echo chambers which
masturbate our confirmation bias and hide any information which might
cause us cognitive dissonance by contradicting it. Whole media
careers were built on this phenomenon during the years of Russiagate
hysteria, and we see it play out in spheres from imperialism to
Covid-19 commentary to economic policy.
Biden
becoming president effectively makes the US a vassal state of China.
Someone
benefits from this dynamic, and it isn’t you. As we’ve discussed
previously,
we know from WikiLeaks
documents that powerful people actively seek to build ideological
echo chambers for the purpose of propaganda and indoctrination, and
there is surely a lot more study going into the subject than we’ve
seen been shown. Splitting the public up into two oppositional
factions who barely interact and can’t even communicate with each
other because they don’t share a common reality keeps the populace
impotent, ignorant, and powerless to stop the unfolding of the
agendas of the powerful.
You
should not be afraid of your government being too nice to China. What
you should worry about is the US-centralized power alliance advancing
a multifront new cold war conducted simultaneously against two
nuclear-armed nations for the first time ever in human history. There
are far, far too many small moving parts in such a cold war for
things to happen in a safely predictable manner, which means there

for something to go very, very wrong.
Whenever
someone tells you that a US president is going to be “soft”
on a nation the US government has marked as an enemy, you are being
played. Aways, always, always, always. It’s just people manipulating
you away from your natural, healthy inclination toward peace. Get out
of your echo chamber, look at the raw information instead of the
narratives, and stop letting the sociopaths manipulate you.
