Syrie: onduidelijke actie van VS speciaal commando tegen ISIS kopstukken……

BBC World Service bracht gisteren om 1.00 u. (CET) het bericht, dat speciale troepen een aanval binnen IS gebied in Syrië hebben uitgevoerd, dit om twee IS kopstukken ‘gevangen te nemen’. Het VS legercommando (dat zich illegaal op Syrische bodem bevindt) gaf toe dat er een overval op IS gebied had plaatsgevonden en dat daarbij geschoten werd, maar wilde verder alleen toegeven, dat er 2 doden waren gevallen, aan de kant van IS….

Volgens propaganda site SOHR (Syrian Observatory for Human Rights), dat goede banden onderhoudt met ‘gematigde’ terroristen als IS, moeten dat overigens 25 doden zijn (deze organisatie bestaat uit één man, een misdadiger die Syrië ontvluchtte).

Volgens een BBC verslaggever in het Midden-Oosten wil de VS met deze actie laten zien, dat het hen ernst is met het bestrijden van IS……..  Volgens de verslaggever is de VS dan ook al veel langer bezig met de bestrijding van IS, dan Rusland……… ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Jezus wat een leugenaar, pas toen de Russen eind 2015 zich gingen bemoeien met IS en Syrië de helpende hand toestak, werden IS echt klappen toegebracht* (door Rusland en het reguliere Syrische leger), terwijl de VS coalitie al een jaar bezig was met bombardementen………

Sterker nog: de VS was op de hoogte van de ‘pijplijn’ aan tankwagens, die vanuit Irak en Syrië naar Turkije reden, om olie af te leveren, olie die werd verkocht door IS aan landen als Turkije en Israël…….. Nog sterker: de VS heeft zelfs in de zomer van 2015 nog wapens aan IS geleverd in Irak, wat daarna voor leveringen aan IS in Syrië, nog plaatsvond via Turkije……..

De verslaggever, die het voorgaande uiteraard niet oplepelde, vervolgde met te zeggen, dat Rusland met niets anders bezig is, dan andere doelen nastreven (i.p.v. IS te bestrijden)…….. ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Zie het voorgaande zou ik zeggen!! De godvergeten brutaliteit van een ‘journalist’: zo aantoonbaar hard liegen op een zender die wereldwijd is te ontvangen en waar miljoenen mensen naar luisteren………

Het is hopeloos mensen, zoveel valse propaganda en dan keihard durven zeggen, zoals regelmatig op de BBC, dat RT en andere alternatieve media nepnieuws verspreiden, waar men natuurlijk niet met voorbeelden kan komen, anders dan de beweringen van CIA, NSA en FBI, die op absoluut niets zijn gestoeld……. Trouwens je moet wel een imbeciel zijn, als je de geheime diensten van de VS nog gelooft, neem alleen al de leugens van deze diensten, die in 2003 tot de illegale oorlog tegen Irak hebben geleid!! Een oorlog die tot de dood van 1,5 miljoen Irakezen heeft geleid………

Nog even over die overval in IS gebied: ‘je zou bijna gaan denken, dat de VS kopstukken van IS wil uitschakelen (i.p.v. gevangenneming), zodat de sporen van wapenleveranties e.d. door de VS aan IS, worden gewist……..’ Zoals men niet wilde, dat Osama Bin Laden terecht zou staan, deze figuur had veel te veel kennis over smerig handelen door de VS en werd daarom standrechtelijk geëxecuteerd…….. Een vorm van executies, die onder vredesduif Obama, een grote vlucht heeft genomen (middels drones, waarbij meer dan 90% van de slachtoffers niet eens verdacht was, vooral vrouwen en kinderen…..)……

* Voordat Rusland ingreep waren alleen de Koerden i(n Irak en Syrië) en de Houthi’s (in Jemen) in staat IS en andere terreurgroepen klappen toe te brengen, alleen wel op kleine schaal. Waar wat betreft de Houthi rebellen opgemerkt dient te worden, dat de VS, samen met de Saoedische terreurcoalitie, oorlog voert tegen diezelfde Houthi’s………

RT, waarom de heersende macht en de massamedia dit media orgaan vrezen en haten……..

Gisteren bracht Information Clearing House een artikel dat eerder door theDuran werd gepubliceerd. Adam Garrie betoogt hierin dat RT geen propaganda orgaan is van Rusland, zoals u sinds enige tijd bijna dagelijks wordt voorgehouden. Het is dan ook niet de bedoeling, dat de gewone bevolking twijfelt aan de leugens die de westerse politici en reguliere westerse media hen dagelijks voorhouden……

RT houdt zich duidelijk niet aan de stilzwijgende afspraak binnen de reguliere (massa-) media (voor het overgrote deel in handen van grote bedrijven en/of miljardairs), de uiterst agressieve VS buitenlandpolitiek te verdedigen en het overheersende ijskoude, inhumane neoliberalisme uit te dragen.

Zoals betoogd, in onderstaand artikel: RT brengt geen onversneden Russische propaganda, als RT dit wel zou doen, zouden er bij lange na niet zoveel mensen zijn, die deze zender volgen. RT brengt feitelijk nieuws en zoals eerder op deze plek betoogd, ik heb RT tot nu toe niet kunnen betrappen op het brengen van ‘nepnieuws’, zoals de reguliere westerse media organen deze keer op keer brengen, neem de smerige berichtgeving over Oost-Aleppo…….

Nieuwsorganen als RT brengen hoop voor de honderden miljoenen mensen, die wereldwijd middels oorlogen en keihard neoliberalisme tot de verstotenen op ons aller aarde zijn gaan behoren….. Dat is dan ook het ‘grote gevaar’ voor de huidige machthebbers en de reguliere (massa-) media, die de bevolking voorliegen dat oorlogen en arbeidshervormingen noodzakelijk zijn….. Noodzakelijk respectievelijk voor het brengen van democratie (lees: het overnemen van de macht over grondstoffen, dan wel strategische belangrijke plekken) en voor ‘de noodzakelijke economische groei’ (een groei die uiteraard helemaal niet noodzakelijk is….).

Zoals gezegd, dit is een artikel van theDuran, dus helaas zonder mogelijkheid tot vertaling, die u overigens wel middels uw besturingssysteem kan aanmaken.

RT
has given a voice to patriotic Americans who have been isolated from
events in their own political system due to an establishment that
relied on mainstream media to shut them up.

James
Clapper, the US Director of National Intelligence, on the basis of
his comments
to the Senate committee on Thursday about RT,
would appear to agree with Alex Jones in thinking ‘there’s a war
on for your mind’.

 I happen to disagree. I think there’s a race to the bottom, in order to see how much the American deep state and Congressional supporters of Obama’s neo-liberal ideology can condescend to ordinary Americans.

The truth behind the ‘media wars’ is far less exotic, let alone dramatic than the powers that be would like people to believe.

In business there is something known as the 80/20 Rule which states that 80% of all effects stem from 20% of all causal occurrences. When applied to retail it can mean that 80% of all revenue comes from 20% of one’s customer base. It can also mean that 80% of sales are derived from 20% of one’s inventory.

In media, one can apply this rule in the following ways: 80% of a media outlet’s viewership comes from 20% of a population who broadly agree with the editorial line of the outlet in question. Indeed, most viewers of media tune in and turn on to hear recent facts (and in some cases fake facts) which help to bolster their inherent views of the world. Clinton voters will watch CNN for reassurance, anti-Zionists will do with same with Press-TV, and neo-liberal globalists will put on BBC World.

RT isn’t an exception here. If someone broadly questions the globalist agenda and the militarist/interventionist narrative of the west, he or she will find many analysts on RT whose views correspond with their own.

There is however one big league exception. Prior to the launch of RT, there was no large media outlet broadcasting in the West which offered a critical view of the mainstream, establishment narrative. Whilst CNN and Fox bickered over hair-splitting interpretations of the ‘West is best’ agenda, no one offered a real opposing view.

RT has changed that. RT doesn’t have an anti-America view as Mr. Clapper implied. RT simply offers people in America and around the world an opportunity to question whether the establishment’s view of how America should rule the world actually makes the lives of ordinary Americans better or worse.

Increasingly those who feel that globalism, neo-liberalism and constant war are making their lives worse do things like watch RT and vote for Donald Trump. It is not a cause, it is an effect.

Few media outlets change minds but they do have the ability to give a voice to those which already exist. Globalists, liberals and war-hawks have had a voice in the American media market for decades. But unless one went to a local book-club where Pat Buchannan was giving a talk to a room of 80 people those opposed to the post-Cold War globalist hegemony of the US elite had no voice. RT has given them one, and the open contempt of those in the establishment, upset with RT for giving a voice to the voiceless, is staggering.

The tale told by the likes of Clapper and John Kerry before him isn’t one of a propaganda war. Ordinary people are not as stupid as many in the establishment would like to think. If RT was as propagandistic as they say, no one would watch it.  Instead millions do watch it, some for reassurance and others to find out new perspectives so they can ‘question more’.

Perhaps many in the establishment are as shocked that they have as much patriotic American opposition as they have. The millions of Americans who watch RT however aren’t semi-retired KGB agents; they are patriotic, thinking, concerned Americans, many of whom are middle-aged and remember the Cold War well.

And this is what frightens the likes of Clapper, McCain and Kerry. They thought that they could keep a lid on home grown all-American moderate opposition with a little help from their good friends in the mainstream media. But now they can’t.

What does it say about modern America that it took a station founded in Moscow to ignite the spirit of America’s First Amendment and ‘make free speech great again’?

For the record, I have appeared on RT many times and have never been told what to say nor how to say it. I wouldn’t have it any other way and I’m happy that the people at RT feel the same.

Opvallend vindt u ‘ook niet?’ In de roep om het aanpakken van ‘nepnieuws’ (of ‘fake news’, wat u wilt), wordt steeds vaker gerept bepaalde sites maar te blokkeren. Dit op basis van de verkiezingen in de VS, eerst met gelul dat bloggers e.a. de boel hadden opgehitst tegen Clinton (ha! ha! dat had en heeft ze helemaal niet nodig!), kwam vorig jaar al redelijk snel het verhaal, dat de Russen zich middels hacks hadden bemoeid, met bijvoorbeeld de democratische nominaties voor de presidentsverkiezingen (waarom toen niet meteen actie ondernomen??!!!)…..*

Later werd hetzelfde gezegd over de presidentsverkiezingen….** De Russen zouden e-mails van Clinton hebben gelekt, daar is geen ander bewijs voor, dan de geheime diensten, die zeggen dat e.e.a. zo is….. ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Dit zijn trouwens dezelfde geheime diensten (CIA en NSA), die ‘de bewijzen’ leverden voor de massavernietigingswapens van Saddam Hoessein, wat resulteerde in de VS massamoord op 1,5 miljoen Irakezen…….. Terug naar de e-mails en andere leugens, met andere woorden: Obama stuurde op grond van horen zeggen 35 Russische diplomaten naar huis…… Rekent u maar, dat u de harde bewijzen onder ogen zou krijgen, als ze zouden bestaan……..

Daarnaast zouden bepaalde groepen met ‘nepnieuws’ de bevolking van de VS hebben opgezet tegen Clinton. Dit terwijl de reguliere (massa-) media in de VS dag in dag uit, aantoonbaar het volk bestoken met leugens en bedrog, nog sterker als het om het buitenlandbeleid van de VS gaat……

(Alweer) op basis van deze zaken roept men zo ongeveer in het hele westen, dat ‘nepnieuws sites’ geblokkeerd moeten worden. Daarbij noemt men o.a. RT en Sputnik, die zouden door Rusland betaald worden om de westerse bevolking op te zetten tegen de afzonderlijke eigen regeringen en de VS in het bijzonder. Men stelt domweg dat RT en Sputnik propaganda brengen. Propaganda is gebaseerd op leugens, dat geschreven hebbende, zou ik wel eens een bericht van RT willen zien, dat niet gebaseerd was op feiten, neem bijvoorbeeld de strijd om Aleppo!!

Het is dan ook duidelijk: men wil in het westen af van alle kritiek op zowel binnenland-, als buitenlandgebied. Men heeft eindelijk de reguliere massamedia in handen en elk verzet daartegen wordt als laster en leugens betiteld…..  Het maakt over actuele onderwerpen als Aleppo niet meer uit wat je leest, de Telegrof, de Volkskrant, of de NRC, één grote vuilbak aan smerige propaganda…….. Daarom zal men proberen de alternatieve ‘nieuwssites’, bloggers e.a. de komende jaren de mond te snoeren, het is niet de bedoeling dat u de waarheid te weten komt, dat is maar lastig, daar de politici zich dan moeten verantwoorden voor hun valse getuigenissen en kwaadaardige, belastinggeld verslindende neoliberale politiek!!!

Vreemd genoeg worden dezelfde soort argumenten gebruikt door landen, die al lang delen van het internet hebben geblokkeerd, zoals Turkije, Egypte, Saoedi-Arabie en China……….. Op weg naar 1984 zullen we maar denken……..

Toen ik dit bericht gistermiddag zat te schrijven, was Menno Bentveld op BNR te horen, die een reis had gemaakt van Oekraïne naar Rusland. Deze zogenaamd groene presentator van Vroege Vogels***, reist het liefs het jaarrond over de wereld, zo presenteert hij ook het programma ‘De Muur’. Er zijn bijna honderd muren over de wereld, aldus Bentveld, die hiermee fysieke afscheidingen bedoelt, waarmee mensen binnen de grenzen moeten worden gehouden en/of buitenlandse agressors of vluchtelingen moeten worden buitengehouden……..

De teneur in de komende aflevering van ‘De Muur’ is, dat de opstandelingen fout zitten, u weet wel de opstandelingen in Oost-Oekraïne die volkomen terecht tegen de coup waren, waarmee hun democratisch gekozen president werd afgezet. Zij weigeren terecht, als de mensen op De Krim, te leven onder het fascistische bewind, van de zwaar corrupte grofgraaier en misdadiger Porosjenko…….. Dit terwijl Bentveld stelde: “Het is interessant om beide zijden te horen……” ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha!

De Russen waren uiteraard dubbelfout, Bentveld beschreef de ‘ellende’ om Rusland binnen te komen en deed nog heldhaftig, daar hij niet de naam had genoemd van de degene die hen begeleid had naar de grens (‘een fixer’, aldus Bentveld… ha! ha!). Hij zei het nog net niet, maar het had niet veel gescheeld, of de Russen hadden hem gemarteld!!! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha!

Zo te horen was Bentveld niet eens in Oost-Oekraïne geweest, immers er bestaan goede banden tussen de drie republiekjes in Oost-Oekraïne en Rusland, geen reden dus voor de Russen te vragen naar de naam van ‘de fixer’ (overigens een benaming die wordt gebruikt voor mensen die oorlogscorrespondenten door oorlogsgebied loodsen…..).

Blufkont Bentveld vergat wel even, dat wanneer ‘omgekeerd evenredig’ de reguliere media in het westen, alleen maar negatief zouden schrijven over de VS, hij dat land niet eens binnen zou komen!!

De verhalen mensen: dit passeerde in de ‘The Friday Move’ op BNR, waar ook Raymann aanwezig was. Verhalen over groene mannetjes die plotseling heel De Krim hadden overgenomen……. Raymann begon over parachutisten (Russische), maar toen werd het zelfs Bentveld teveel en ging men daar maar niet verder op in……

Hufter Bentveld zou eens naar De Krim moeten gaan en daar met mensen op straat spreken!! U begrijpt natuurlijk wel, dat het door internationale waarnemers goedgekeurde referendum voor aansluiting van De Krim bij Rusland, niet eens ter sprake kwam (al moet ik zeggen, dat ik kort daarop overschakelde naar BBC World Service).

Met dit soort programma’s gebaseerd op leugens en bedrog’, ook middels uiterst eenzijdige berichtgeving, wordt de westerse bevolking een rad voor de ogen gedraaid, dit om steun te vergaren voor de terreur van de VS (met de NAVO aan de hand) in het buitenland…….. Elke kritiek op dit soort programma’s (of berichtgeving op andere media) moet in de kiem gesmoord worden, het publiek heeft nu eenmaal geen recht op de waarheid, dat is veel te lastig………… De ‘nieuwste’ term die gebruikt wordt voor alternatieve media, die wel berichten hoe de vork in de steel steekt, is ‘nepnieuws……’

Nogmaals: 1984 wordt vervolmaakt…….

* Moet u nagaan: juist de democraten zelf manipuleerden deze nominaties dermate, dat kandidaat Bernie Sanders verloor en hare kwaadaardigheid Clinton won!!

** Vreemd eerder werd vorig jaar beweerd, dat de Russen zich met de verkiezingen bemoeiden. Waarom werd toen niet ogenblikkelijk de hele computerinfrastructuur van de VS overheid gescand op gaten in de beveiliging???

*** Toen Bentveld al een paar jaar presentator was van Vroege Vogels, wist hij niet, dat auto’s met een te lage bandenspanning, veel meer brandstof gebruiken…… In 2015 had deze grofgraai flapdrol het gore lef om reclame te maken voor het eten van afgeschoten ganzen en dat in Vroege Vogels!!

Obama maakt ministerie van Waarheid mogelijk en geeft ministerie van Oorlog $ 611 miljard……..

Nobelprijs voor de Vrede winnaar Obama (ha! ha! ha!) heeft een wet getekend, waarmee een Ministerie van Waarheid (ministry of Truth) zoals door Orwell beschreven in het boek 1984) is gecreëerd……… Niet alleen dat, maar deze wet geeft het Ministerie van Oorlog in 2017 een slordige $ 611 miljard te verbrassen, zodat de onwettige, zwaar terroristische VS houdgreep op de wereld, kan worden versterkt……….

‘Uiteraard’ zal e.e.a. gepaard gaan met het tegenwerken, of uit de lucht halen, dan wel van het internet verwijderen, van VS onwelgevallige media (lees: media die kritiek durven te leveren op terreurentiteit VS….)………

Late
on Friday, with the US population embracing the upcoming holidays and
oblivious of most news emerging from the administration, Obama
quietly signed into law the 2017 National
Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) which authorizes $611 billion for
the military in 2017.

In
a statement, Obama
said that:

Today,
I have signed into law S. 2943, the “National Defense Authorization
Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2017.” This Act authorizes fiscal year 2017
appropriations principally for the Department of Defense and for
Department of Energy national security programs, provides vital
benefits for military personnel and their families, and includes
authorities to facilitate ongoing operations around the globe. It
continues many critical authorizations necessary to ensure that we
are able to sustain our momentum in countering the threat posed by
the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant and to reassure our European
allies, as well as many new authorizations that, among other things,
provide the Departments of Defense and Energy more flexibility in
countering cyber-attacks and our adversaries’ use of unmanned
aerial vehicles.”

Much
of the balance of Obama’s statement blamed the GOP for Guantanamo’s
continued operation and warned that “unless the Congress changes
course, it will be judged harshly by history,” Obama said. Obama
also said Congress failed to use the bill to reduce wasteful overhead
(like perhaps massive F-35 cost overruns?) or modernize military
health care, which he said would exacerbate budget pressures facing
the military in the years ahead.

But
while the passage of the NDAA – and the funding of the US military –
was hardly a surprise, the biggest news is what was buried deep
inside the provisions of the Defense Authortization Act.

Recall
that as we
reported in early June, “a
bill to implement the U.S.’ very own de
facto Ministry
of Truth had been quietly introduced in Congress.
As with any legislation attempting to dodge the public spotlight the
Countering Foreign Propaganda and Disinformation Act of 2016 marks a
further curtailment of press freedom and another avenue to stultify
avenues of accurate information. Introduced by Congressmen Adam
Kinzinger and Ted Lieu, H.R. 5181 seeks a “whole-government
approach without the bureaucratic restrictions” to counter “foreign
disinformation and manipulation,” which they believe threaten the
world’s “security and stability.”

Also
called the Countering Information Warfare Act of 2016 (S. 2692), when
introduced in March by Sen. Rob Portman, the legislation represents a
dramatic return to Cold War-era government propaganda battles. “These
countries spend vast sums of money on advanced broadcast and digital
media capabilities, targeted campaigns, funding of foreign political
movements, and other efforts to influence key audiences and
populations,” Portman explained, adding that while the U.S. spends
a relatively small amount on its Voice of America (VOA), the Kremlin
provides enormous funding for its news organization, RT.

“Surprisingly,”
Portman continued, “there is currently no single U.S. governmental
agency or department charged with the national level development,
integration and synchronization of whole-of-government strategies to
counter foreign propaganda and disinformation.”  

Long
before the “fake news” meme became a daily topic of
extensive conversation on such discredited mainstream portals as CNN
and WaPo (Washington Post), H.R. 5181 would task the Secretary of State with
coordinating the Secretary of Defense, the Director of National
Intelligence, and the Broadcasting Board of Governors to “establish
a Center for Information Analysis and Response,” which will
pinpoint sources of disinformation, analyze data, and — in true
dystopic manner — ‘develop and disseminate’ “fact-based
narratives”
to counter effrontery propaganda.

In
short, long before “fake news” became a major media topic,
the US government was already planning its legally-backed crackdown
on anything it would eventually label “fake news.”

forward to December
8, when
the “Countering
Disinformation and Propaganda Act”
passed in the Senate, quietly
inserted inside the 2017 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA)
Conference Report.

And
now, following Friday’s Obama signing of the NDAA on Friday
evening, the
Countering Disinformation and Propaganda Act is
now law.

U.S.
Senators Rob Portman (R-OH) and Chris Murphy (D-CT) today announced
that their Countering
Disinformation and Propaganda Act – legislation
designed to help American allies counter foreign government
propaganda from Russia, China, and other nations – has
been signed into law as part of the FY 2017 National Defense
Authorization Act (NDAA) Conference Report. The bipartisan bill,
which was introduced by
Senators Portman and Murphy in March, will improve the ability of the
United States to counter foreign propaganda and disinformation from
our enemies by establishing an interagency center housed at the State
Department to coordinate and synchronize counter-propaganda efforts
throughout the U.S. government. To support these efforts, the bill
also creates a grant program for NGOs, think tanks, civil society and
other experts outside government who are engaged in
counter-propaganda related work. This will better leverage existing
expertise and empower our allies overseas to defend themselves from
foreign manipulation. It will also help foster a free and vibrant
press and civil society overseas, which is critical to ensuring our
allies have access to truthful information and inoculating people
against foreign propaganda campaigns.

“Our
enemies are using foreign propaganda and
disinformation against us and our allies, and so far the U.S.
government has been asleep at the wheel,” Portman said. “But
today, the United States has taken a critical step towards
confronting the extensive, and destabilizing, foreign propaganda and
disinformation operations being waged against us by our enemies
overseas. With
this bill now law, we are finally signaling that enough is enough;
the United States will no longer sit on the sidelines. We are going
to confront this threat head-on. I am confident that, with the help
of this bipartisan bill, the disinformation and propaganda used
against us, our allies, and our interests will fail.”

“The
use of propaganda to undermine democracy has hit a new low. But
now we are finally in a position to confront this threat head on and
get out the truth. By building up independent, objective journalism
in places like eastern Europe, we can start to fight back by exposing
these fake narratives and empowering local communities to protect
themselves,” said Murphy. “I’m proud that our bill was signed
into law, and I look forward to working with Senator Portman to make
sure these tools and new resources are effectively used to get out
the truth.”

NOTE: The
bipartisan Countering
Disinformation and Propaganda Act is
organized around two main priorities to help achieve the goal of
combatting the constantly evolving threat of foreign disinformation
from our enemies:

  • The
    first priority is developing a whole-of-government strategy for
    countering THE foreign propaganda and disinformation being wages
    against us and our allies by our enemies    .
    The bill would increase the authority, resources, and mandate of the
    Global Engagement Center to include state actors like Russia and
    China as well as non-state actors. The Center will be led by the
    State Department, but with the active senior level participation of
    the Department of Defense, USAID, the Broadcasting Board of
    Governors, the Intelligence Community, and other relevant agencies.
    The Center will develop, integrate, and synchronize
    whole-of-government initiatives to expose and counter foreign
    disinformation operations by our enemies and proactively advance
    fact-based narratives that support U.S. allies and interests.

  • Second, the legislation
    seeks to leverage expertise from outside government to create more
    adaptive and responsive U.S. strategy options. The legislation
    establishes a fund to help train local journalists and provide
    grants and contracts to NGOs, civil society organizations, think
    tanks, private sector companies, media organizations, and other
    experts outside the U.S. government with experience in identifying
    and analyzing the latest trends in foreign government disinformation
    techniques. This fund will complement and support the Center’s
    role by integrating capabilities and expertise available outside the
    U.S. government into the strategy-making process. It will also
    empower a decentralized network of private sector experts and
    integrate their expertise into the strategy-making process.

And
so, with the likes
of WaPo having already primed the general public to
equate “Russian Propaganda” with “fake news”
(despite admitting after
the fact their own report was essentially “fake“),
while the US media has indoctrinated the public to assume that any
information which is not in compliance with the official government
narrative, or dares to criticize the establishment, is also “fake
news” and thus falls under the “Russian propaganda”
umbrella, the scene is now set for the US government to legally crack
down on every media outlet that the government deems to be “foreign
propaganda.”

Just
like that, the US Ministry
of Truth is
officially born.

Afgelopen week besloot de EU, de censuur task force ‘strategische communicatie’, ingesteld door de niet democratisch gekozen ‘Europese’ Commissie, een aanzienlijk groter budget uit de door ons opgebrachte belasting toe te bedelen. Het is natuurlijk niet de bedoeling dat u de waarheid hoort over Oekraïne of Syrië en dat is een lieve cent waard, ‘zoals u begrijpt….’

Ofwel Rusland moet en zal zwartgemaakt worden, zoals gezegd, zelfs met uw belastinggeld……. Een verdere vervolmaking van 1984 (Orwell)…….

“RT“* – A fledgling group set up by the European Commission to
allegedly counteract “Russian propaganda” is to be expanded with
more public cash and resources. European citizens will be funding
mechanisms inducing their own ignorance and misinformation.

This
week, the European Parliament in Strasbourg voted by
a dubious majority for a cash injection to expand the work of a media
watchdog aimed at “debunking
Russian propaganda.”

The
little-known media group, reportedly comprising 11 “diplomats,” was
established a year ago by the all-powerful, but unelected European
Commission. The media unit has, therefore, no electoral mandate. It
is potentially holding sway over how 500 million EU citizens will be
able in the future to access news and public information.

In
particular, it is evident the said EU media program is motivated by
an extreme Russophobia bias. Working in tandem with this media
watchdog is another coterie of seven parliamentarians headed by
the rabidly anti-Russian Polish MEP Anna Fotyga. The
57-year-old member of
the right-wing Alliance of Conservatives and Reformists in Europe
within the EU Parliament has been regularly accusing Russia
of “aggression” in
Ukraine and toward Europe generally.

Fotyga’s
self-appointed media group, dominated by eastern European
anti-Russian interests, produced a report earlier
this year entitled “EU
strategic communications with a view to counteracting propaganda.” It
makes for hysterical reading accusing Russian news networks RT and
Sputnik of being Kremlin propaganda tools for sowing division and
discord among EU member states.

The
report states: “The
Russian government is employing a wide range of tools and
instruments, such as think-tanks […], multilingual TV stations
(e.g. Russia Today), pseudo-news agencies and multimedia services
(e.g. Sputnik) […], social media and internet trolls, to challenge
democratic values, divide Europe, gather domestic support and create
the perception of failed states in the EU’s eastern neighborhood.”

It
was largely this tendentious “study” that
formed the basis for the European Parliament’s resolution this week
to expand funding for the media program to “debunk
Russian propaganda.”

How
much new money is being disbursed to the media watchdog is not clear.
But ultimately it will be funded by EU citizens whose taxes
underwrite member governments’ financial contributions to the
Brussels-based 28-nation bloc.

Notably,
the EU Parliament vote this week was far from convincing. Some 304
MEPs voted for extra funding to the“anti-Russian
propaganda” group,
while 179 MEPs voted against. A further 208 parliamentarians
abstained. That suggests widespread apprehension among lawmakers
about the function and credibility of “debunking
Russian propaganda.”

So,
here we have an outcome whereby a minuscule group of unelected
faceless bureaucrats and ideologically driven politicians, who
evidently have an ax to grind against Russia, are able to shape a
vital area of foreign policy for the entire EU bloc and furthermore
to significantly impinge on the public’s right to access
information freely.

The
charges of “Russian
state-sponsored propaganda” have
been inflamed with recent claims by
Western leaders like US President Barack Obama and German Chancellor
Angela Merkel that “fake news” is undermining Western democracy.
These claims have in turn followed months of reports from various
NATO-linked think-tanks which have allege that
Russian news services are fronts for Kremlin-inspired disinformation.

Political
pressure is now being brought to bear on internet and social media
providers, such as Google and Facebook, to ban “fake
news” from
their networks. Germany’s Merkel has even declared this
week that she intends introducing legislation that will force
internet service companies to “regulate
fake news.”

It
is not clear how far this development will go. Western-based internet
companies may yield and impose blanket censorship. Another question
is what are the limits on designating which information and sources
are considered “fake”?


The
political atmosphere of Russophobia being whipped up by Western
leaders, NATO-connected think-tanks and now EU parliamentarians –
and the actual fingering of Russian news services like RT and Sputnik
as “illegitimate
sources” –
is all setting the stage for the banning of Russian media.


In
reports this week, the EU media watchdog that is being expanded
to “counter
Russian propaganda” said that
it would be employing ways of “alerting
internet users to false information.” Presumably,
that involves hiring online commentators (trolls) who will add
disparaging comments to news articles deemed to be Kremlin
propaganda. Apparently, there are no moves yet to demand that
internet providers actually delete content. But that full-blown
censorship would seem to be only a short step away, given the
relentless anti-Russian atmosphere and claims by Western leaders
of “fake
news” eroding
democracy.

The
insidious nature of what is unfolding is illustrated by the alleged
incident of Belgian NATO fighter jets bombing Syria last month. On
October 18, the village of Hassadjek in Aleppo was reportedly hit by
air strikes that killed six civilians, according to local sources.


Several
news services, including Reuters, subsequently carried reports in
which Russia’s Ministry of Defense accused Belgium of carrying out
the strikes as part of the US-led coalition purportedly bombing Syria
to combat jihadi terror groups.

The
Russian information appeared to be substantive, providing flight and
radar data that reportedly identified the Belgian warplanes.
Belgium’s ambassador was summoned in Moscow to explain why the
Belgian government appeared to be stonewalling with denials that its
air force was involved in the deadly attack.


Disturbingly,
the news reports of the alleged Belgian air strike on the Aleppo
countryside last month are described as
an example of “fake
news” by
the EU media watchdog during this week’s parliamentary vote to
endorse more funding for the unit.


This
has huge sinister implications. Any news report or analysis – no
matter how substantive or factual – that happens to offend the
political sensibilities and reputation of EU governments are thus
liable to be labeled “fake.” And
therefore subject to censorship.

What
about reports on Western governments supplying jihadi terror groups
with weapons? Or reports on how Western media are colluding with
terrorist propaganda fronts like the White Helmets to fabricate
allegations of Russian violations in the liberation of besieged
Syrian city Aleppo?


All
such reports can be verified and documented. But because they happen
to offend official Western claims about their involvement in Syria,
then such “offending” reports
can be merely dismissed as “Russian
propaganda.”


This
marks an audacious license by European and American authorities to
grant themselves immunity from media criticism and scrutiny –
simply by invoking a subjective, politicized claim that Russian news
is “fake” and“propagandistic.”


Meanwhile,
this week Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko was being hosted in
Brussels by EU leaders during which he warned: “The
European Union is under very severe attack from Russia.”


There
is no hint of awareness among European media outlets and the EU’s
own media watchdogs that Poroshenko’s tedious tirades constitute a
glaring case of “fake
news.” 

Dystopian
future beckons in which EU citizens are obligated to fund unelected
media controllers who will deprive them of critical news and
information, while at the same time sluicing citizens with the most
gratuitous anti-Russia propaganda.

No
wonder a growing number of citizens are becoming alienated from the
EU’s oligarchic rule. It is acting like a tyranny that needs to be
torn asunder.
