Assange in de gevangenis: Zweden laat voor de derde keer de aanklacht wegens verkrachting vallen

Te zot
voor woorden, nu Assange in isolement gevangen zit (een mensenrechtenschending en misdaad tegen de menselijkheid) in
Groot-Brittannië, laat het Zweedse OM voor de derde keer de aanklacht wegens verkrachting tegen Assange vallen…. Iedereen die nu nog
durft te zeggen dat journalist Assange niet het slachtoffer is van
smerige internationale politieke manipulaties, dient spoorslags te vertrekken
naar de psychiater……

Het is
een grote schande dat men een journalist wil vervolgen voor het
openbaren van door de VS begane oorlogsmisdaden en voor het in het
groot openbaren van gelekte overheidsdocumenten, waaruit blijkt hoe
smerig de buitenlandpolitiek van de VS is*. Elke zichzelf
respecterende journalist zou precies hetzelfde gedaan hebben als
Assange….. Maar niet de journalisten van de reguliere westerse
(massa-) media, zij fungeren als trouwe lakeien van de plutocraten die deze media
bezitten en van de regeringen in de
landen waarin deze media zijn gevestigd.

Als een
koor van wolven herhalen die journalisten de absurde aanklachten die de VS Assange
aansmeert, als zou hij mensen in gevaar hebben gebracht….. Ten
eerste is daar niet één bewijs voor geleverd en ten tweede zijn namen
verwijderd door Wikileaks en journalisten van andere media, althans mochten die namen een gevaar opleveren voor bepaalde personen….** Deze aanklachten zijn dan ook in eerste instantie door de VS naar
voren gebracht om haar misdadige handelen in het buitenland te camoufleren*** (misdadig handelen zoals geopenbaard in WikiLeaks), een truc
die ook Hillary Clinton gebruikte toen ze door de mand was gevallen
met ronduit misdadig handelen, waardoor Bernie Sanders in 2016 de democratische voorverkiezingen voor het presidentschap van de VS verloor….. Door
de Russen te beschuldigen van het lekken van dit feit, werd de
aandacht afgeleid waar het echt om had moeten gaan (zoals gezegd): het misdadige
handelen van Clinton en het democratische campagneteam…….

Terug naar Assange: vreselijk dat in deze zaak één journalist bijna letterlijk kapot is
gemaakt door drie regeringen, die van de VS, Zweden en
Groot-Brittannië….. Evenzo vreselijk is het feit dat zoals gezegd
de andere westerse ‘journalisten’ Assange zo hebben laten vallen, Assange is NB een
collega….. Dit stelt dan ook nog eens extra de belachelijke
aantijgingen van fake news (nepnieuws) in de sociale media aan de kaak, een zaak
die vooral door diezelfde journalisten, de westerse regeringen en de geheime diensten de
wereld in zijn geholpen, waar die journalisten en de media voor wie
ze werken aantoonbaar fake news hebben gebracht en met andere
desinformatie het publiek manipuleerden en manipuleren…… (‘aantoonbaar’: neem de
berichtgeving van die media in aanloop naar en tijdens de illegale
oorlogen van de VS in het Midden-Oosten, deze zijn goed
voor een dossier van vele meters aan fake news en desinformatie…..
In feite propaganda die in ons land o.a. werd gebracht door de NOS (zogenaamd onafhankelijk), andere publieke omroepen, plus de Telegraaf, het AD, de
NRC, de Volkskrant en andere ‘geschreven media…..’)

Terecht merkt Johnstone aan het eind van haar artikel op dat Assange, hoewel een vechter, letterlijk het slachtoffer is die niets meer voor zichzelf kan doen en dat iedere weldenkende wereldburger zou moeten vechten voor zijn zaak en zijn vrijheid!!

Now
That Assange Is Safely Locked Up, Sweden Drops Its “Investigation”

Now
that WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange is safely locked up in Belmarsh
prison awaiting a US extradition hearing, Sweden has, for
a third time,
dropped its rape investigation.

“After
conducting a comprehensive assessment of what has emerged during the
course of the preliminary investigation I then make the assessment
that the evidence is not strong enough to form the basis for filing
an indictment,” said deputy
chief prosecutor Eva-Marie Persson at a press conference in Stockholm
on Tuesday.

This
decision comes days after the UN Special Rapporteur on Torture Nils
Melzer began making
noise about
the Swedish government’s refusal to answer
his questions about
the many
enormous, glaring plot holes in
the investigation which began in 2010. These plot holes include
“proactive manipulation of evidence” with the testimony of
the alleged victim, a condom provided as evidence that had neither
the DNA of Assange nor of the alleged victim on it, complete
disregard for confidentiality rules and normal investigative protocol
from the earliest moments of the investigation onward, disregard for
conflicts of interest, Sweden’s refusal to provide assurance that
Assange would not be extradited to the US if he went there to answer
questions, statements made by the alleged victims which contradict
the allegations, unexplained correspondence between Swedish
prosecutors and the FBI, and many others.

None
of which matters anymore. He is caged, and public support for him has
been deliberately demolished. The Swedish parody of an
“investigation” did its job. Assange took political asylum
with the government of Ecuador out of fear of US extradition and was
slowly squeezed off from the outside world, his own reputation, and
his own physical health while the empire prepared its case against
him, keeping him increasingly immobilized, silenced and smeared until
he could be forcibly pried from the embassy in April of this year.

Once
this was accomplished, all the feigned concern for alleged victims of
sexual assault suddenly vanished, lining up perfectly with a 2010
article authored
in the early days of the investigation by feminist writer Naomi Wolf
who said, “How do I know that Interpol, Britain and Sweden’s
treatment of Julian Assange is a form of theater? Because I know what
happens in rape accusations against men that don’t involve the
embarrassing of powerful governments.”

“In
other words: Never in
twenty-three years of reporting on and supporting victims of sexual
assault around the world have I ever heard
of a case of a man sought by two nations, and held in solitary
confinement without bail in advance of being questioned —
for any alleged
rape, even the most brutal or easily proven,” Wolf wrote. “In
terms of a case involving the kinds of ambiguities and complexities
of the alleged victims’ complaints — sex that began consensually
that allegedly became non-consensual when dispute arose around a
condom — please find me, anywhere in the world, another man in
prison today without bail on charges of anything comparable.”

Everyone
who was familiar with sexual assault investigations knew that
Assange’s case was being treated wildly different from any other, and
anyone with a shred of intellectual honesty knew that this was
because his case was different
from any other: it was an investigation of a man who had embarrassed
powerful governments. That was always what
this was about. It was never about
protecting women. The fact that the case is being flushed now that
the imperialists have gotten what they wanted makes this abundantly
clear.

And
now he’s locked up for
no other reason than a pending US extradition request,
exactly as he anticipated and rightly tried to avoid. The ridiculous
bail sentence he was serving has already expired, and the rape
investigation everyone pretended was so important has been tossed
aside like an old gum wrapper. As one reader put
it on Twitter today,
“So Julian Assange continues to be detained in a high security
prison, having completed an extreme sentence for not meeting the bail
conditions for a charge that wasn’t and won’t be made. All on top of
the rules of asylum being cast aside to net him. This is rule of
jackboot not law.”

“Let’s
call this for what it is: an outrage,” the Defend Assange
account tweeted after
the news broke.

“The
road to Belmarsh and 175-years in prison was paved in Stockholm–and
so it will be remembered. The damage done to Assange’s and WikiLeaks’
reputation-outing his name in an ‘investigation’ for which he was
never charged-is monstrous.”

Monstrous
it is. And monstrous the whole thing remains. They have maneuvered
circumstances and narratives in such a way that they are now able to
literally imprison a journalist for exposing US war crimes, right in
front of us, while telling us we live in a free society. It’s like
watching someone who’s supposed to be your friend reach down and
start strangling your dog to death while looking you right in the eye
and saying “I’m not killing your dog. I would never do that.
We’re friends.”


While
the world knows Julian’s name has been cleared in Sweden, he is
sitting in a cell in Belmarsh prison, probably unaware of the news.
The Prison cancelled all visits today.

They’ve
locked him up. They’ve silenced him. They’ve broken his body. They’ve
broken his mind. And now they’re trying to lock him out of sight
forever, out of sight and out of mind, so we can all forget all about
the evil things they’ve revealed about themselves.

But
all that means is that now his fate is in our hands. Back when he was
strong and bright-eyed and had a voice, it was easy to kid ourselves
and say “Eh, he’ll find a way out of this. He’s the smartest guy
around!” It was easy to lean on his strength in order to
abdicate our responsibility to defend him tooth and claw from a
globe-spanning oligarchic empire which seeks to criminalize holding
power to account.

We
can’t do that anymore. We can’t take comfort in Assange’s power,
because he doesn’t have it anymore. His frailty now means we need
to be the strong ones. We need
to fight for him, because he can’t do it himself. We need to win this
battle if we’re ever to have any hope of overturning the status quo
that is oppressing us all and shoving us toward greater and greater
peril. We can’t afford to lose this one. We need to fight for Assange
like the world depends on it. Because, in a very real sense, it does.

Caitlin
Johnstone heeft een artikel gepubliceerd waarin ze stelt dat
de Overton Window (Overton-venster of Raam van Overton) onderhevig is
aan sterke inkrimping. Het Overton-venster is het spectrum aan
gedachtegoed dat wordt geaccepteerd door het publiek. Ofwel waar spreken we wel en niet over. (degenen die uitmaken waarover gesproken wordt zijn politiek en media). Zoals je begrijpt is e.e.a. een heel smerige vorm van manipulatie, iets waarvan politiek en media nu juist de alternatieve media op het internet beschuldigen….

Johnstone
stelt dus dat het Overton-venster aan krimp onderhevig is en dat
toont ze aan door een groot aantal voorbeelden, waar ze aangeeft dat
men spreekt over zaken, maar niet kijkt wat bijvoorbeeld de oorzaak
is van waar men over spreekt. Neem de islamitische terreuraanslagen
in het westen: het is prima om daar over te spreken zolang je de
schuld maar bij de jihadisten legt en niet begint over de
grootschalige westerse terreur in islamitische landen in het
Midden-Oosten, terreur die terreur in Europa oproept en grote vluchtelingenstromen richting Europa opgang heeft gebracht….. Ofwel men wil wel over één van de gevolgen van een fout
beleid spreken (fout >> immers het westen heeft niets te zoeken in het
Midden-Oosten): terreur op de Europese straten, maar niet wat de
oorzaak daarvan is…..

Johnstone
noemt o.a. het discussiëren over censuur op het internet, zonder dat de de
vraag wordt gesteld of die censuur nodig is….. Veel sites en blogs
zijn platgelegd in de VS, in feite als gevolg van de ‘Russiagate’
leugen, terwijl het hele Russiagate verhaal intussen onderuit is gehaald……
‘Russiagate’ was in feite een smerige truc van Hillary Clinton
en haar campagneteam, om haar eigen misdaden tijdens de Democratische
voorverkiezingen te verbergen……

Of wat
dacht je van het debatteren over de steun die politici in de VS (en een aantal andere buitenlanden) krijgen van
grote bedrijven, zonder de vraag te stellen of het wel gewenst is
dat grote bedrijven in feite steekpenningen betalen voor een voor hen zo gunstig mogelijk beleid na de verkiezingen……. Kortom onvervalste corruptie!

Over
samenzweringstheorieën: men bediscussieert of iets wel of geen
samenzweringstheorie is, zonder over het feit te spreken dat de
figuren met macht nu eenmaal altijd samenspannen, anders gezegd:
samenzweren….

Johnstone
haalt zoals gezegd een groot aantal zaken aan en ik moet zeggen dat werkt
behoorlijk verhelderend, zelfs als je al op de hoogte was van de
effecten die discussies over een bepaalde zaak teweegbrengen, zonder dat men over de
oorzaak heeft gesproken…… Ook wordt nog eens duidelijk gemaakt hoe
machtig de reguliere westerse (massa-) media zijn en hoe het komt dat
men daar ongegeneerd liegt en manipuleert. Dit is uiteraard in het
belang van de plutocratische eigenaren en in het belang van de
overheid, zoals bij bepaalde berichtgeving door ‘onze’ NOS…. Neem de totaal gekleurde berichtgeving door de reguliere media, inclusief ‘fake news’ en andere desinformatie, voorafgaand aan en tijdens de illegale oorlogen van de VS, oorlogen die door het zittende Nederlandse kabinet maar al te graag worden gesteund, ook al worden deze oorlogen op basis van hele bergen leugens gevoerd….. Oorlogsvoering is veelal ook in het belang van de
plutocratische media eigenaren, die enorme aandelenportefeuilles
hebben in de moorddadige oorlogsindustrie en in de olie-industrie, waar deze oorlogsvoering
zoals gezegd ook in het belang is van overheden, zoals die van de
VS……. Neem bijvoorbeeld Turkije waar Erdogan steeds minder
populair werd >> Erdogan valt Syrië illegaal binnen en is weer
populair bij het volk, terwijl hij schaamteloos gebruik maakt van de
media, die hij na een heftige persbreidel onder de duim heeft…..

plutocrat-owned narrative managers of the political/media class work
constantly to shrink the Overton
window,
the spectrum of debate that is considered socially acceptable. They
do this by framing more and more debates in terms of how the
oligarchic empire should be sustained and supported, steering them
away from debates about whether that
empire should be permitted to exist at all.

They
get people debating whether there should be some moderate changes
made or no meaningful changes at all, rather than the massive,
sweeping changes we all know need to be made to the entire system.

They
get people debating whether they should elect a crook in a red hat or
a crook in a blue hat, rather than whether or not they should be
forced to elect crooks.

They
get people debating violations of government secrecy laws, not
whether the government has any business keeping those secrets from
its citizenry in the first place.

They
get people debating how internet censorship should take place and
whom should be censored, rather than whether any internet censorship
should occur.

They
get people debating how and to what extent government surveillance
should occur, not whether the government has any business spying on
its citizens.

They
get people debating how subservient and compliant someone needs to be
in order to not get shot by a police officer, rather than whether a
police officer should be shooting people for those reasons at all.

They
get people debating whether or not a group of protesters are
sufficiently polite, rather than debating the thing those protesters
are demonstrating against.

They
get people debating about whether this thing or that thing is a
“conspiracy theory”, rather than discussing the known fact
that powerful people conspire.

They
get people debating whether Tulsi Gabbard is a dangerous lunatic, a
Russian asset, a Republican asset gearing up for a third party run,
or just a harmless Democratic Party crackpot, rather than discussing
the fact that her foreign policy would have been considered perfectly
normal prior to 9/11.

They
get people debating whether Bernie Sanders is electable or too
radical, rather than discussing what it says about the status quo
that his extremely modest proposals which every other major country
already implements are treated as something outlandish in the United
States.

They
get people debating whether Jeremy Corbyn has done enough to address
the Labour antisemitism crisis, rather than whether that “crisis”
ever existed at all outside of the imaginations of establishment
smear merchants.

They
get people debating whether Joe Biden or Elizabeth Warren would win
against Trump, rather than whether either of those establishment
lackeys is a worthy nominee.

They
get people debating whether politicians should have corporate
sponsors, rather than whether corporations should be allowed to
interfere in the electoral process at all.

They
get people debating if the US should be pursuing regime change in
Iran or Syria, rather than whether the US has any business
overthrowing the governments of sovereign nations to begin with.

They
get people debating how many US troops should be in Syria, rather
than whether that illegal invasion and occupation was ever legitimate
in the first place.

They
get people debating whether to kill people slowly by sanctions or
kill them quickly with bombs, rather than whether they should be
killed at all.

They
get people debating whether or not some other country’s leader is
an evil dictator, rather than whether it’s any of your business.

They
get people debating the extent to which Russia and Trump were
involved in the Democratic Party’s 2016 email leaks, rather than the
contents of those leaks.

They
get people debating what the response should be to Russian
interference in the election, rather than whether that interference
took place at all, and whether it would really matter if it did.

They
get people debating how much government support the poor should be
allowed to have, rather than whether the rich should be allowed to
keep what they’ve stolen from the poor.

They
get people debating what kind of taxes billionaires should have to
pay, rather than whether it makes sense for billionaires to exist at
all.

They
get people impotently debating the bad things other countries do,
rather than the bad things their own country does which they can
actually do something about.

They
get people debating what should be done to prevent the rise of China,
rather than whether a multipolar world might be beneficial.

They
get people debating whether western cold war escalations against the
Russian Federation are sufficient, rather than whether they want to
horrors of the cold war to be resurrected in the first place.

They
get people debating what extent cannabis should be decriminalized,
rather than whether the government should be allowed to lock anyone
up for deciding to put any substance whatsoever in their own
body.

They
get people debating whether or not US troops should be withdrawn from
Afghanistan, rather than whether or not there should be any US troops
outside of the US.

They
get people debating whether or not Julian Assange is “a real
journalist”, rather than whether or not they should set legal
precedents that necessarily criminalize acts of journalism.

They
get people debating the subtle details of bail protocol, political
asylum, embassy cat hygiene and leaking rather than whether it should
ever be legal to imprison a publisher for exposing government war
crimes.

They
get people debating what the punishment should be for whistleblowers,
not what the punishment should be for those they blow the whistle on.

They
get people debating whether Fox or MSNBC is the real “fake
news”, rather than whether the entirety of mainstream media is
oligarchic propaganda.

They
get people debating about how the things everyone is freaking out
over Trump doing were previously done by Obama, rather than
discussing why all US presidents do the same evil things regardless
of their parties or campaign platforms.

They
get people debating what should be done with money, not whether the
concept of money itself is in need of a complete overhaul.

They
get people debating what should be done with government, not whether
the concept of government itself is in need of a complete overhaul.

They
get people debating whether the status quo should be reinforced or
revised, rather than whether it should be flushed down the toilet
where it belongs.

They
get people angrily debating things they can’t change, rather than
constructively working on the things that they can.

They
get people shoving against each other in opposite directions, while
they swiftly build a cage around us all.

Derde presidentskandidaat Democratische Partij wil eind aan VS hulp voor Israël

Elizabeth
Warren, Democratisch presidentskandidaat, is de derde op rij die een eind wil
maken aan de hulp die de VS aan Israël geeft, althans als Israël doorgaat met het annexatie beleid op de West Bank (o.a. middels het
uitbreiden en stichten van nieuwe illegale nederzettingen op de West
Bank). Eerder gingen Bernie Sanders en Pete Buttigieg haar voor. Tot
voor kort zou een dergelijke stap als politieke suïcide worden
gezien, maar blijkbaar veranderen de tijden (en dit keer ten goede
van het verdrukte Palestijnse volk).

Na jaren
tevergeefs druk te hebben uitgeoefend op Caterpillar, Motorola en een Israëlische bank (vreemd dat in het hieronder opgenomen artikel de
naam niet wordt genoemd) te stoppen zaken te doen met Israëlische illegale nederzettingen in de door Israël illegaal bezette West Bank, heeft de Episcopaalse kerk besloten banden met
deze bedrijven te verbreken (bijvoorbeeld de aandelen van dergelijke
bedrijven weg te doen en de rekening bij de bedoelde bank op te
zeggen). 

De Reconstructionist Rabbinical Association (RRA) steunt
Betty McCollums (Republikein) wet om militaire hulp aan Israël in te
houden, vanwege het gevangenhouden van Palestijnse kinderen. Onder
druk zouden de Toronto Raptors hun reis naar Israël hebben uitgesteld en deze zal wellicht geheel worden afgesteld.

Tegelijkertijd
heeft Warren laten zien geen ruggengraat te hebben daar ze een Israëlische lobbyclub heeft verzekerd dat haar politieke beleid niets
te maken heeft met de progressieve Joodse groep IfNotNow……. De
vraag is wat e.e.a betekent als ze de volgende president van de VS
zal zijn en te vrezen valt dat ze het slappe beleid van Obama zal
voortzetten, ofwel veel beloven, maar weinig of zelfs niets doen,
immers de Joodse lobby in de VS politiek is uitermate machtig,
sterker nog deze bepaald zelfs deels de buitenlandpolitiek van de VS…… 

Mocht die VS hulp aan Israël tekort schieten, of wordt er door de VS politici te veel kritiek geleverd op Israël (naar de mening van de Israëlische regering), gaat Netanyahu, of diens opvolger naar
Capital Hill en laat daar de politici en het volk van de VS weten dat
men bijvoorbeeld vooral niet op figuren als Warren moet stemmen (precies dat deed Netanyahu in 2016)…… Dit wordt dan
niet als ongewenste buitenlandse inmenging in de verkiezingen van de VS
gezien, iets waar men Rusland volkomen onterecht van beschuldigde, sterker
nog voor die Israëlische inmenging in de VS politiek zijn pakken dossiers voorradig…….

Intussen
hebben de ‘Israëlische kolonisten’, (echt) illegale bewoners van de
West Bank, de Palestijnse olijvenoogst als doel van haar ongebreidelde
agressie gemaakt: ze hebben olijfbomen vernietigd en zijn zelfs een 80 jarige rabbi te
lijf gegaan, daar deze 100 olijfbomen van vernietiging wilde
redden….. Een verhaal dat je niet op Radio1 zal horen, met haar Israël lobbyist Arlene Gelderblom, die als correspondent fungeert….

In
Jeruzalem zijn dit jaar een record aantal huizen van Palestijnen
vernietigd, daar Israël elke nieuwbouw als een bedreiging voor haar
voortbestaan ziet, terwijl dit land met het zo ongeveer modernste
leger ter wereld, niets te vrezen heeft van de Palestijnen, die je het
best kan vergelijken met de oorspronkelijke volkeren van de drie Amerika’s, ofwel een strijd van met pijl en boog bewapende bewoners, tegen modern bewapende schoften, die men
destijds ook kolonisten noemde……

Jurist
Remi Brulin heeft intussen aangetoond dat een terreurcampagne in de
80er jaren tegen Palestijnen in Libanon, waar een groot aantal
Palestijnen in vluchtelingenkamp Shatila en de aangrenzende buurt Sabra werden vermoord, het werk was van Israëlische agenten,
een zaak die de Israëlische militaire censor tot voor kort
onder de pet heeft weten te houden…… (al moet gezegd worden dat men hier al vanuit ging bij de destijds nog echt onafhankelijke pers [en in de alternatieve pers] en dat vrijwel onmiddellijk na de vreselijke
bloedbaden; opperschoft en massamoordenaar Sharon speelde ook hier ook een ‘mooie rol…’)

Stop
alle hulp aan Israël en boycot deze (nu officiële) fascistische
apartheidsstaat, ‘gefundeerd’ op de lijken van een enorm aantal
Palestijnen………

good things happened this week and we were there to chronicle them. 

Palestinian
human rights are finally becoming an issue in the Democratic Party.
Elizabeth Warren became
the third Democrat, joining
Pete Buttigieg and Bernie Sanders, to say that the United States
should withdraw aid from Israel if it continues its
settlement/annexation project. As our reporter Michael Arria said,
such a stance used to be “political suicide.” 

After
years of urging Caterpillar, Motorola and an Israeli bank to cease
business in the occupied territories, the
Episcopal Church moved to
divest itself of these corporations. And the Reconstructionist
Rabbinical Association endorsed Rep.
Betty McCollum’s landmark bill to strip US military aid from Israel’s
detention of children. And though the Toronto
Raptors promised a
trip to Israel, they appear to have scratched the date under pressure
from activists. 

Now
for the bad news…

Warren’s
campaign also assured
an Israel lobby group that
a young staffer who was a founder of the progressive Jewish group
IfNotNow will have nothing to do with her foreign policy work. Jeez
Louise. 

Settlers attacked
the Palestinian olive harvest,
and destroyed more than 100 trees– and took a crowbar to an
80-year-old rabbi who was trying to protect the trees. And in
2019 Israel
has already destroyed a record number of Palestinian homes in
Jerusalem — and it’s only October.”

Meantime,
there’s a stateside campaign against
Golbarg Bashi’s children’s book “P Is for Palestine” because
Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) and Samidoun endorse the book and they support
BDS.  “The book is basically banned,” the
Iranian-American author told Nada Elia. 

Here

While
Remi Brulin demonstrates that
a terrorist campaign in Lebanon in the 1980s that killed hundreds was

that information till now– yet the U.S. press has not amended its
reports from that period.

‘Working-Class Joe’ (Biden) gevloerd door Bernie Sanders

De
smeerlap en democratisch kandidaat voor de presidentsverkiezingen in
2020, Joe Biden, leed onlangs een fikse nederlaag in een debat voor
leiders van de vakbonden, waar de democratische presidentskandidaten zich uitspraken voor de
vakbonden van de arbeiders en tegen ‘corporate America’, ofwel tegen de top
van de bedrijven.

Bernie
Sanders en Joe Biden (vice-president onder Obama) waren ook van de
partij, Biden was zonder dat Sanders zijn naam hardop hoefde te noemen,
behoorlijk de pineut. Sanders haalde een aantal zaken aan waar Biden
voor had gestemd en die niet in het belang van de arbeiders
waren…… Zo liet Sanders o.a. weten dat hij niet voor: 

  • de oorlog
    tegen Irak had gestemd (Biden was voor, uiteraard destijds nog geen
    vice-president)
  • de bailout ofwel voor de financiële redding van
    Wall Street had gestemd, zoals Biden wel deed
  • de NAFTA deal was,
    waardoor veel banen van arbeiders verloren gingen, waar Biden
    ‘uiteraard’ voor was (zie de redding van Wall Street, zoals gezegd:
    uit hetzelfde foute straatje van Biden…)

Eerder
op de dag had Biden laten weten niet voor Mediacare for All te zijn, een plan uit de koker van Sanders, dit daar arbeiders die
verzekerd zijn via de bonden, daarmee die verzekering kwijtraken ten voordele van die gezondheidsverzekering van Sanders…… Alsof
Medicare for All een slechtere verzekering zou zijn: juist door zoveel mogelijk mensen mee te laten doen, kan de verzekering
goedkoper, mits het niet in handen van particuliere bedrijven valt (zie de ellende hier),
maar dat is bepaald niet de verwachting met Sanders aan het stuur.

Biden
liet de vakbondsleiders weten dat hij al lang in de politiek zit en
dat hij altijd aan hun kant had gestaan, dit in schril contrast tot
zijn goedkeuring van NAFTA en de ‘bankruptcy bill’, waarmee de
creditcard bedrijven arbeiders met schulden kunnen leegkloppen…….

Het
artikel hieronder komt van Money and Markets, een rechts mediaorgaan,
vandaar de laatste opmerking in het artikel, waarin wordt gesteld
dat Sanders weliswaar tegen de vrijhandelsverdragen had gestemd, maar dat er
ook op hem wel het e.e.a. is aan te merken…… ha! ha! ha! ha! ha!
ha! ha! ha! Natuurlijk werden er geen voorbeelden bij genoemd, de
zinsopbouw verraadde dat al. Echter er is inderdaad wel wat aan te merken op
Sanders, bijvoorbeeld dat hij voor het wapenbezit is en dat hij bij
de verkiezingen in 2016 Hillary Clinton steunde, terwijl hij wist wat
een goor spel ze speelde….. Een spel waarbij ze op misdadige manier van Sanders de kans op verkiezing tot Democratisch presidentskandidaat heeft gestolen en waarvoor zij en haar campagneteam als dekmantel het foute leugensprookje Russiagate op de rails hebben gezet…….. Ofwel Sanders steunde een
presidentskandidaat die tot alles in staat is, dit alles uit foute
loyaliteit voor de Democratische Partij……

Al geef
ik onmiddellijk toe dat Sanders als president een verademing zal zijn
voor de enorm grote onderlaag in de VS en hij waarschijnlijk geen oorlogen zal
beginnen en daarmee een verademing voor de wereld zal zijn….. Tja,
dat dachten we ook van Obama, de valse vredesduif en later weer van Trump….. Ik vrees dan ook dat dit soort lui eenmaal zittend op de stoel van
president te horen krijgen dat ze zich niet te sterk moeten verzetten
tegen de wil van het Pentagon, daar dit ‘wel eens slecht kan
uitpakken voor de gezondheid….’

Bernie Slams Biden’s Political Past; ‘Working-Class Joe’ Bites Back

The
high-stakes fight for working-class voters moved to Pennsylvania on
Tuesday as a slate of Democratic White House hopefuls vowed to use
the power of the presidency to crack down on corporate America and
strengthen organized labor.

But
beneath all the agreement at the AFL-CIO conference, a feud between
two leading candidates, Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders, began to spill
out into the open. Neither mentioned the other by name onstage. Yet
both moved to undermine the other’s credibility with a group of
voters that may hold the key to the 2020 presidential election.

Sanders
was the most aggressive when he ticked down a list of unpopular votes
from Biden’s decadeslong record in politics as he faced hundreds of
union members in a Philadelphia convention hall.

“Unlike
some of the folks running for president, I did not vote for the war
in Iraq, I did not vote for the Wall Street bailout, I did not vote
for a terrible bankruptcy bill and, maybe most important, I did not
vote for the disastrous trade policies like NAFTA,” Sanders
declared.

Speaking
to reporters afterward, the Vermont senator repeatedly called out
Biden by his first name, charging that “Joe” has a long record of
voting against the interests of the working class.

“All
I wanted to do today was make it clear that in terms of the needs of
working people, I don’t have a record I have to apologize for,”
Sanders said.

Earlier
in the day, Biden took a jab at Sanders by reminding union members
that the health care plan championed by the Vermont senator — known
as “Medicare for All” — would ultimately force union
members from their private insurance plans to a government-backed
system.

“In
mine, you can keep the health
insurance you bargained for if
you like it,” Biden said.

The
tension between the two leading candidates came during what
organizers called a “workers’ presidential summit,” an event in
downtown Philadelphia that gave the Democratic Party’s 2020 class
an opportunity to speak to hundreds of union officials in a premier
swing state.

Besides
Biden and Sanders, the lineup featured Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar,
California businessman Tom Steyer, Ohio congressman Tim Ryan, and New
York entrepreneur Andrew Yang. A handful of candidates, most notably
Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, did not attend.

A Warren spokeswoman
said she had “prior commitments” in New York, noting that she
attended an AFL-CIO forum over the summer.

Arguably,
no group of voters will play a more critical role in 2020 than those
gathered at the Pennsylvania Convention Center on Tuesday. Trump won
the presidency on the backs of white working-class voters in
Pennsylvania, Michigan in Wisconsin — three states that hadn’t
supported a Republican for president in almost three decades before
Trump.

Biden
has built his decades-old political brand as a native of
working-class Scranton, Pennsylvania. He reminded union members on
Tuesday about his nickname “Working-class Joe” and called labor
unions “the backbone of the country.”

“The
bad news is I’ve been around a long time. The good news is that
I’ve been around a long time. You know me. I’ve never not been
with you,” Biden said.

Yet
his long record in Washington gives his rivals in both parties ample
political ammunition. Some conference attendees received flyers
highlighting the low points of Biden’s record. And hours after
Sanders lashed out at Biden, Sanders’ senior campaign aides
reinforced the criticism on social media, leaving little doubt that
the Philadelphia attack was not an isolated incident.

Responding
to Biden’s statement that he’s always backed labor, Sanders’
campaign manager Faiz Shakir tweeted, “Pinocchio Joe.”

Sanders’
speechwriter David Sirota went further: “Joe Biden actively
undermined Democrats and unions to help congressional Republicans
pass NAFTA (which killed jobs) and the bankruptcy bill (which helped
credit card companies crush workers with debt).”

The
former Delaware senator is the only 2020 Democratic candidate who
voted to support the North American Free Trade Agreement. As vice
president, he helped implement a rescue package for the nation’s
big banks. He also wrote a 2005 bankruptcy bill backed by credit card
companies. And he is the only 2020 contender who voted in 2002 to
authorize use of military force in Iraq; Sanders, then a member of
the House, voted against the authorization.

Biden
also supported the trade deal written by the Obama administration
known as the Trans-Pacific Partnership that Trump ultimately killed
once he took office.

Still,
in the Senate, he voted against a number of trade deals, including
those with Singapore, Chile and Oman.

Until
Tuesday, there was little public tension between Sanders and Biden,
although Sanders, like other Democratic contenders, has long hoped
that Biden’s early advantages in the Midwest would ultimately fade
because of his record on trade.

Sanders,
by contrast, aggressively opposed the trade deals. That’s not to
say Sanders does not have tough questions to answer of his own.

VS wist al een paar weken dat zich op een later te bombarderen doel in Afghanistan (veel) burgers bevonden

moorden die de VS pleegt met drones zijn zoals het woord moord al
aangeeft volkomen illegaal. Verdachten hebben recht op een proces en
die ga je niet afknallen als je ze ziet, althans niet door een beetje
beschaafd land en dat beste bezoeker is de VS dan ook al lang niet meer……

Bij die
drone aanvallen is telkens weer meer dan 90% van de slachtoffers niet
eens verdacht, dus veel vrouwen en nog meer kinderen…..

Bij de
drone aanval van afgelopen woensdag in de provincie Nangarhar werden 30 boeren vermoord en
werden en er 40 verwond…..

De
dorpsoudsten van het gebied waar de drone aanval plaatsvond, hebben op 7 september jl. de gouverneur van het bewuste
gebied gewaarschuwd dat er 200 landbouwarbeiders zouden komen om te helpen bij
de oogst van pijnboompitten….. De VS zou op de hoogte zijn gebracht van dit feit, echter het commandocentrum van de VS heeft blijkbaar schijt aan dit soort waarschuwingen……. (zoals bij de beschieting van een Artsen zonder Grenzen ziekenhuis, dat een uur lang werd beschoten vanuit de lucht, waar men herhaaldelijk het VS commandocentrum belde om te vertellen dat men moest stoppen, daar het om een ziekenhuis ging…….*)

Beste
bezoeker, het zoveelste totaal overbodige bewijs dat het westen op
moet rotten uit Afghanistan, we hebben daar niets te zoeken, er is 1
grote agressor op de wereld en die moet eindelijk eens ingetoomd
worden >> de VS….. Als deze terreurentiteit zich eindelijk
eens helemaal terugtrekt op haar eigen grondgebied kan de wereld weer
ademhalen en hoeven mensen in Afghanistan niet langer bang te zijn
dat ze slachtoffer kunnen worden van de VS, bijvoorbeeld tijdens begrafenissen of bruiloften dan wel tijdens een verblijf in, of een bezoek aan een ziekenhuis, moorden begaan door militairen van dat psychopathisch gewelddadig zieke land!! 

Eén ding is zeker, jonge nabestaanden van dit soort massamoorden door de VS of één van haar NAVO partners, zullen makkelijk te rekruteren zijn door terreurorganisaties als IS en Al Qaida……

Vergeet voorts niet dat op het moment dat de VS illegaal een oorlog begon tegen Afghanistan, de opiumteelt op de reet lag en na 18 jaar VS [met hulp van andere NAVO-lidstaten] oorlogsvoering is de opiumteelt groter dan ooit……

Knew Civilians Were in Area of US Drone Strike That Killed 30 Farmers

(CD) — Afghan
officials knew for over a week that civilians were in the area bombed
by a U.S. drone strike on Wednesday, raising more questions about the
attack that killed 30 farmers and wounded 40 more.

“My
son and his friends were killed by the Americans,” village chief
Malak Khaiyali Khan told Reuters.
“How could they do this to us?”

On
Thursday, Common
Dreams reported on
the strike, which was decribed as a “total massacre”
by journalist Emran Feroz.

According
to Reuters,
village elders from the Wazir Tangi area of Nangarhar province
on September 7 sent a letter to the region’s governor alerting him
to the fact they planned to have as many as 200 laborers picking pine
nuts.

The
letter, seen by Reuters and dated Sept. 7, was sent in an effort to
help protect laborers from getting caught in clashes between
U.S.-backed Afghan forces and Islamic State fighters in the
mountainous terrain largely controlled by the jihadists.

Twelve
days later, a drone strike hit a camp of workers.

“We
had huddled together around small bonfires and we were discussing the
security situation in our villages, but suddenly everything changed,”
said survivor Akram Sultan. “There was destruction everywhere.”

fallout from the attack continued to reverberate around the eastern
province, U.S. politicians and progressives condemned the strike.

Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), a candidate for the Democratic party’s 2020
presidential nomination.

Attacks
like the drone strike lead to more extreme radicalization and
opportunities for groups like ISIS and the Taliban to recruit angry
victims of U.S. aggression, said Young
Turks commentator
Hasan Piker.

“We
are destroying these countries,” Piker said, “and the only people
with the infrastructure to fight back are extremist groups who take
advantage of the destabilization.”

VS ‘voorrechten’ op de rest van de wereld

Caitlin Johnstone heeft een artikel geschreven waarin ze alle privileges
van de VS op een rij heeft gezet. Zonder meer het lezen waard en het
laat ten overvloede zien dat de VS een terreurentiteit is die
volkomen schijt heeft aan wat men in andere landen over haar
buitenlandbeleid vindt.

Het gaat
zelfs zover dat alle zaken die de VS elders uitvreet, toeschrijft aan
anderen, terwijl de VS de ene illegale oorlog na de andere start……. Zo zet de VS verkiezingen elders naar haar hand en mocht dat niet lukken, een
illegale economische oorlog tegen zo’n land begint, een economische oorlog die de VS vervolgens ‘officieel maakt’ door eenzijdig sancties* af te kondigen tegen dat land…… Daarbij wordt de
bevolking door CIA agenten opgehitst in opstand te komen, waar
de VS deze opstanden maar al te graag steunt met huurlingen die
geweld plegen tijdens demonstraties en deze toeschrijft aan het
wettige gezag van zo’n land (voorbeelden te over)….. Als ook dat
niet helpt kan de VS het leger van zo’n land bespelen en pressen tot
het plegen van een staatsgreep en als ook dat geen resultaat oplevert kan de VS
zoals al zo vaak gezien en hiervoor al genoemd, een illegale oorlog starten tegen zo’n land,
waarbij een groot aantal leugens uit de kast worden getrokken om die
VS terreur en enorme oorlogsmisdaad van ‘legitimatie te voorzien’ (false flag operaties) en ook voor dat laatste: voorbeelden
te over…….

Niet
voor niets heeft de VS sinds 1945 tot nu toe al meer dan 22,5 miljoen
mensen vermoord**, onder het mom van het brengen van democratie
(waarbij niet zelden democratisch gekozen regeringen en/of hun
presidenten werden afgezet, zie Oekraïne >> deze wanstaltige en
bloedige ‘grap’ heeft de VS destijds 4 miljard dollar gekost,
verantwoordelijken: hare kwaadaardigheid Hillary Clinton (destijds
minister van BuZa) en de zittend president, toentertijd ‘vredesduif’ Obama……

Vergeet voorts niet, zoals al zo vaak betoogd, dat de VS en haar oorlogshond NAVO met het uitoefenen van grootschalige terreur, verantwoordelijk zijn voor de terreur op de Europese straten en voor grote stromen vluchtelingen……

Lees het
volgende artikel van Johnstone en zegt het voort, het is te
belachelijk voor woorden dat miljoenen Nederlanders de VS nog steeds
zien als een geweldige democratie die terecht mensen vermoordt om
‘vrijheid en democratie te brengen’, terwijl de VS de landen waar het
om gaat, zoals Afghanistan, Irak, Libië en Syrië, verandert in

Privilege

American liberals and
progressives talk a bit about white privilege, male privilege,
straight privilege etc, but one thing I never hear them talk about is
American privilege: the ability their nationality gives them to have
a relationship with this world we all share that the rest of us do
not have.

American privilege is
reassuring yourself that there are problems enough at home without
worrying about the trillions your government’s war machine is
spending terrorizing the world and encircling the planet with
military bases.

American privilege is
reluctantly allowing the potential Commanders-in-Chief have an
eight-minute conversation about foreign policy in your presidential
primary debates, when your country’s military policy functionally
dictates the affairs of rest of the world.

American privilege is
arguing against the legality of assault weapons on the basis that
they are “weapons of war”, implying that they’re fine as
long as they’re used to kill some foreigner’s kids.

American privilege is
being able to masturbate your outrage addiction over a racist joke
while ignoring the way your military murders black and brown people
by the tens of thousands every year.

American privilege is
being able to lose your mind over someone using the wrong pronouns
while your government pours your tax money and resources into
governments and groups who hang gay people in the town square.

American privilege is
believing your propaganda is the truth, and everyone else’s
understanding of the world is fake news.

privilege is assuming your prudish Puritanical brand of sexuality is

only having a robust antiwar movement when your own citizens are at
risk of being drafted, then completely forgetting about peace for
decades while an increasingly robotic military force gives you even
more peace of mind.

American privilege is
being able to relax about war because your soldiers are being
replaced with drones and proxy militias in US-driven conflicts, even
though those kill people just as dead as manually operated killing
machines.

American privilege is
being hush-hush about the egregious imperialist stances of
progressive candidates like Bernie Sanders because they have some
decent domestic policies.

American privilege is
black bloc protests against public appearances by figures like Milo
Yiannopoulos and the Proud Boys while murderous war pigs like Bill
Kristol, Henry Kissinger, John Bolton, David Frum and arms industry
executives go from appearance to appearance completely unbothered.

privilege is benefiting from cheap goods and oil and a strong dollar
and never wondering how many innocent foreigners lost their lives and
homes in the wars your government starts to make that so.

never hearing about it because that isn’t considered a newsworthy
occurrence.

might to terrorize, murder, imprison, starve and impoverish anyone
who doesn’t go along with its interests, and feeling no urgent need
to bring a stop to this.

privilege is being fine with being the world leader, but not being
too bothered about what exactly that means.

Nadat
Bernie Sanders de Washington Post (WaPo) volkomen terecht verweet een haatcampagne tegen hem te voeren, hebben de massamedia in de VS
belachelijk en hysterisch gereageerd op deze beschuldiging…….. Lullig voor die media, maar belangrijke
ex-vertegenwoordigers van die media zijn het helemaal zat en hebben
‘een dik boek opengetrokken’ over hun ex-werkgevers en hun voormalige
collega’s.

Met
voorbeelden geeft men aan dat deze massamedia, zonder uitzondering
in handen van plutocraten of investeringsgroepen, zich onderwerpen
aan zelfcensuur, men weet prima welke onderwerpen wel of niet genoemd
kunnen worden, censuur die de eigenaren verwachten van hun
werknemers…… Caitlin Johnstone, de schrijver van het hieronderopgenomen artikel zegt niets over de zelfcensuur die zogenaamde
onafhankelijke journalisten zich opleggen, over berichten die
regeringen wel of niet kunnen schaden, ook die zijn er voldoende……*

Zo is er
zelden of nooit commentaar in de reguliere westerse media op ingrepen
van de VS elders, of het nu gaat om illegale oorlogen, staatsgrepen
of ronduit massamoorden begaan middels drones, aanvallen op verdachte
mensen, die minstens recht hebben op een eerlijk proces…….
Ronduit VS terreur waarbij bovendien meer dan 90% van de vermoorden
niet eens werden verdacht, dus veelal vrouwen en kinderen…….

Gelukkig
ziet ook Caitlin Johnstone, de schrijver van het hieronder opgenomen
artikel, dat langzaam maar zeker een kentering van zaken,
plaatsvindt. Zo gelooft het grootste deel van de VS bevolking terecht
niet dat de uitbater van een kindermisbruiknetwerk, Jeffrey Epstein,
zichzelf het leven heeft benomen (voor berichten over Epstein, klik
op het label met zijn naam direct onder dit bericht).

Johnstone
concludeert m.i. terecht dat de propaganda-oorlog, gevoerd in de
reguliere massamedia steeds minder effect heeft op de publieke opinie,
al verwacht ik niet dat er daarom snel verandering zal komen in die
propaganda, eerder valt te vrezen wat we nu al zien: de brengers van
het echte nieuws, de alternatieve media worden meer en meer
gedemoniseerd door de reguliere westerse massamedia en westerse
politiek, waarbij steeds meer platforms worden geweerd van het
internet…….. De volgende stap is het strafrechtelijk vervolgen
van de alternatieve media, waarbij het eindelijk duidelijk zal
worden wat een smerig spel media en politiek spelen en dat gesteund
door multinationals, de financiële maffia en het militair-industrieel
complex……..

Mass
Media’s Phony Freakout Over Bernie’s WaPo Criticism Is Backfiring

After
days of ridiculous,
hysterical garment rending by
mass media talking heads in response to Senator Bernie
Sanders’ utterly
undeniable assertion
that The
Washington Post has
displayed unfair bias against his campaign, people with extensive
experience in the mainstream press who are fed up with the lies are
beginning to push back. Hard.

Former
MSNBC producer Jeff Cohen has published
an article in Salon titled
“Memo to mainstream journalists: Can the phony outrage; Bernie is
right about bias”. Cohen details his experience with the way
corporate media outlets keep a uniform pro-establishment narrative
running throughout all their coverage without their staff having to
be directly told to to do this by their supervisors (though sometimes
that happens, too). He writes as follows:

“It
happens because of groupthink. It happens because top editors and
producers know — without being told — which issues and sources
are off limits. No orders need be given, for example, for
rank-and-file journalists to understand that the business of the
corporate boss or top advertisers is off-limits, short of criminal
indictments.

“No
memo is needed to achieve the narrowness of perspective — selecting
all the usual experts from all the usual
think tanks to
say all the usual things. Think Tom
Friedman. Or Barry
McCaffrey.
Or Neera
Tanden.
Or any of the elite club members who’ve been proven to be absurdly
wrong time and again about national or global affairs.”

Cohen’s
exposé follows the
phenomenal segment recently
aired on The
Hill‘s
show Rising,
in which former MSNBC star Krystal Ball and her co-host Saagar Enjati
both detailed their experience with the way access journalism,
financial incentives, prestige incentives and peer pressure were used
to push them each toward protecting establishment narratives in their
respective mainstream media careers. Ball said at one point she was
literally called into the office and forbidden from doing any
critical Hillary Clinton coverage without prior approval in the
lead-up to the 2016 election, saying that in mainstream journalism
jobs “you are aware of what you’re going to be rewarded for and
what you’re going to be punished for, or not rewarded for.”

“It’s
not necessarily that somebody tells you how to do your coverage, it’s
that if you were to do your coverage that way, you would not be hired
at that institution,” Enjati said. “So it’s like if you do not
already fit within this framework, then the system is designed to not
give you a voice. And if you necessarily did do that, all of the
incentive structures around your pay, around your promotion, around
your colleagues that are slapping you on the back, that would all
disappear. So it’s a system of reinforcement, which makes it so
that you wouldn’t go down that path in the first place.”

Rolling
Stone‘s
Matt Taibbi has also jumped in to push back against the absurd
denials of bias from the establishment media, publishing
a new article titled
“The Campaign Press: Members of the 10 Percent, Reporting for the
One Percent–Media companies run by the country’s richest people
can’t help but project the mindset of their owners.” Taibbi, an
award-winning journalist with lots
of experience in
the news media industry, writes that pro-establishment
narratives are advanced in mainstream press not because some explicit
order is handed down by a media-owning oligarch, but because “We
all know what takes will and will not earn attaboys in newsrooms.”

writes the following:

“The
news media is now loathed in the same way banks, tobacco companies,
and health insurance companies are, and it refuses to understand
this. Mistakes like WMDs are a problem, but the media’s biggest
issue is exactly its bubble-ness, and clubby inability to respond to
criticism in any way except to denounce it as misinformation and
error. Equating all criticism of media with Trumpism is pouring
gasoline on the fire.

“The
public is not stupid. It sees that companies like CNN and NBC are
billion-dollar properties, pushing shows anchored by big-city
millionaires. A Vanderbilt like Anderson Cooper or a half-wit legacy
pledge like Chris Cuomo shoveling coal for Comcast, Amazon, AT&T,
or Rupert Murdoch is the standard setup.”

Taibbi
is correct. Trust in the mass media continues
to plummet,
and these stupid, nonsensical hissy fits they throw whenever
criticized are only making it worse.

What
cracks me up most about all this is that the faux outrage over
Sanders’ criticisms of The
Washington Post was
completely unnecessary for everyone involved. They could have just
ignored it and let the news churn bury it, but they’re so insulated
in their little echo chambers that they seriously believed they could
get the public rallying to their defense on this. The general
consensus was something like “Ah ha! Bernie did that
media-criticizing thing that we all agreed nobody’s allowed to do
anymore! We’ve got him this time, boys!”

And
all they accomplished in doing this was giving honest journalists an
opportunity to inform the public about the insider tricks of their
trade. You may be absolutely certain that the information that has
been given to the public by Cohen, Ball, Enjati and Taibbi will
remain in high circulation throughout the Sanders campaign in
response to the increasingly shrill torrent of establishment smears,
breaking the spell of mainstream media trust for all who view it.

these damning insider criticisms of the mainstream American press are
coming out at the same time a
new Rasmussen poll finds
that less than one third of the US population believes the story
they’re being told by the corporate media about the highly
suspicious death of accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.
Despite the
mass media’s mad push to
tar anyone questioning the official narrative about Epstein as a
loony “conspiracy theorist”, only 29 percent of those surveyed
reported that they believed Epstein had committed suicide as they’ve
been told, while 42 percent believe he was murdered. Never in my life
have I seen such a widespread and instantaneous rejection of an
establishment-promulgated narrative in the United States.

This
is hugely significant. The entire imperial oppression machine is held
together with aggressive plutocratic propaganda; the ability of the
ruling class to manipulate the way people think, act and vote is the
only thing stopping the public from using the power of their numbers
to force real changes and create a new system that is not built upon
endless war, ecocide and exploitation. The mass media propaganda
engine is now at its weakest and most vulnerable point ever, and the
narrative managers’ attempts to regain control are only exposing
them more severely.

Power
is the ability to control what happens. Absolute power is the ability
to control what people thinkabout
what happens. Our rulers are rapidly losing this absolute power.

People

plaats van vluchtelingen te demoniseren, die NB op de vlucht zijn
geslagen door VS bemoeienissen met Latijns-America, zou de regering
van de VS de noodtoestand moeten afroepen over de klimaatverandering!

De democratische politici Earl
Blumenauer, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez en Bernie Sanders wijzen de
Trump administratie op de vreselijke gevolgen van de
klimaatverandering, gevolgen waar de VS nu al mee te maken heeft,
gezien de steeds vaker optredende bosbranden en de steeds heviger en
vaker optredende verwoestende orkanen. Niet vreemd dus dat de
voornoemde politici aan de bel trekken, waar zij stellen dat Trump de
vluchtelingen die de VS willen bereiken, wel heeft uitgeroepen tot
noodtoestand (waarbij hij hen afschildert als misdadigers…) en de ogen sluit voor de klimaatramp die zich voor zijn ogen (en de rest van zijn administratie) voltrekt. 

Uiteraard is het afroepen van de noodtoestand over vluchtelingenstromen door Trump te
belachelijk voor woorden*, waar Trump en zijn administratie keer op
keer durven te stellen dat de klimaatverandering een leugen is van
linkse krachten….. Dit terwijl zoals gezegd de gevolgen van de
klimaatverandering al velen in de VS in diepe ellende hebben gestort
en deze verhevigde natuurrampen het volk van de VS al honderden miljarden dollars aan
belastinggeld hebben gekost…..

De VS
wordt in feite deels bestuurd door het bedrijfsleven, inclusief de
oliemaffia, waar de grote bedrijven op z’n zachtst gezegd grote
moeite hebben met maatregelen die de klimaatverandering nog enigszins
kunnen afremmen, daar hun winsten daar onder zullen leiden en zelfs zouden kunnen leiden tot het sluiten van hele bedrijfstakken die niet anders doen dan de klimaatverandering aanjagen…….

US Government Should Declare Climate Emergency

The
havoc that will soon be wrought by climate change is unfathomable.
It’s a crisis — one which Reps. Earl Blumenauer, Alexandria
Ocasio-Cortez, and Sen. Bernie Sanders demanded yesterday the US
government recognize. It’s a needed step towards winning a Green New
Deal.

To
justify his administration’s barbaric actions at the Southern
border, Donald Trump is using the language of crisis. In May 2019,
a scaremongering
statement from
the White House declared that the United States “has been invaded
by hundreds of thousands of people coming through Mexico.” This
“sustained influx of illegal aliens” is “overwhelming our
schools, overcrowding our hospitals, draining our welfare system, and
causing untold amounts of crime,” the administration said.

This,
of course, is bullshit.

The
United States is currently
seeing a
net outflow of
undocumented immigrants. And even if we weren’t, these people have
a right to migrate in order to create a life free from wanton
violence and economic devastation — chaos largely
created by
the United States.

Immigrants
do not “overwhelm” us; they are us,
and their presence in this country does not constitute a crisis.
Their abuse at
the hands of our government, however, absolutely does.

The
Trump administration recently invoked the International Emergency
Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) to justify its inhumane treatment of immigrants
on US soil. This struck Rep.
Earl Blumenauer of Oregon as unjustifiably hypocritical. What if we
used the language of crisis to instead describe an actual mass
emergency: the looming threat of climate disaster, which the Trump
administration categorically neglects and which, unlike the presence
of undocumented immigrants, requires drastic and immediate political
action in order to ensure public safety?

Blumenauer
has teamed up with Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to
propose legislation declaring global warming a national and
international emergency.

The
resolution was submitted to
the House of Representatives on Tuesday. In order to address the
crisis at hand, it calls
for “a
national, social, industrial, and economic mobilization of the
resources and labor of the United States at a massive-scale to halt,
reverse, mitigate, and prepare for the consequences of the climate
emergency and to restore the climate for future generations.”

The
legislation may have been inspired by Trump’s duplicity, but the
idea did not spring fully formed from Blumenauer’s mind. It is a
response to climate activists, who have been increasingly demanding
that national, state, and local governments around the world declare
the climate crisis an emergency.

In
April, the new group Extinction Rebellion occupied central London for
ten days. “The science is clear: It is understood that we are
facing an unprecedented global emergency,” says
the group.
“We are in a life or death situation of our own making. We must act
now.” Extinction Rebellion’s first demand is that governments
“must tell the truth by declaring a climate and ecological
emergency, working with other institutions to communicate the urgency
for change.”

Declarations
of emergency are also the most
urgent demand of
The Climate Mobilization, a US-based climate activist group waging a
campaign to pressure governments to sign on. The group
states that
“declaring Climate Emergency is the critical first step to
launching the comprehensive mobilization solution required to rescue
and rebuild civilization.”

In
response to the Extinction Rebellion protests, the United Kingdom
House of Commons declared
emergency in
May. Similar declarations around the world are pouring in. To date,
climate emergency has been declared by 740 jurisdictions globally,
one of which is New York City, which declared
emergency in
June. Los Angeles appears set to follow
suit.
The joint resolution proposed by Blumenauer, Ocasio-Cortez, and
Sanders would make the United States the seventeenth and largest
nation to heed the crisis declaration call from climate activists.

It
remains to be seen whether the US federal climate emergency
resolution has the support needed to pass into law. The United States
government sustains intimate ties with the fossil fuel industry, ties
that have so far prevented political representatives from touching
anything that opens the door, as this resolution does, to a national
mobilization to cease fossil fuel extraction and transition to a
zero-emissions economy. Even though the resolution is nonbinding, it
clearly gestures toward the implementation of a Green
New Deal (GND) which,
as envisioned by Ocasio-Cortez and Sanders, would spell the end of
the fossil fuel era.

There’s
another reason legislators may be hesitant, despite clear evidence
that we are indeed facing a climate emergency, to vote for a bill
that paves the way for a Green New Deal. The GND isn’t just about
saving the planet: it’s about doing so in a way that builds the
power of working people and erodes inequality, on the basis that the
current capitalist system brought us to the brink of destruction to
begin with.

To
this end, the GND would create millions
of green jobs,
and insists that they come with “a family-sustaining wage, adequate
family and medical leave, paid vacations, and retirement security to
all people of the United States.”

American
politicians aren’t just beholden to the fossil fuel industry;
they’re beholden to the capitalist class writ large. Reducing
unemployment and building worker power — including providing
universal healthcare, education, and housing, also outlined in the
GND — makes exploitation
harder,
which means profits for the few will sink even as living standards
for the many improve. There’s no doubt that the GND will face
tremendous pushback in the halls of power, and that pushback may
begin with shooting down this declaration.

The
best shot we have at muscling this bill through is to raise hell in
the streets. It’s sound politics: when the people in power don’t
want to budge, the majority must create pressure from the outside to
force their hand. It’s no easy task. But if people fight hard
enough, we might be able to get the United States — the biggest
carbon polluter in world history — to formally acknowledge
the real crisis at hand.

The Canary bracht afgelopen vrijdag een artikel van Bryan Wall waarin deze het tweede debat van de democratische presidentskandidaten beschrijft. Met name de aanval van kandidaat Bernie Sanders op de oorlogsmachine van de VS trok zijn aandacht, hoewel het bekend is dat Sanders om het zacht te zeggen, geen voorstander is van het uiterst agressieve VS buitenlandbeleid, beter gezegd ‘terreurbeleid…….’

Het steekt Sanders vooral dat een enorme groep VS burgers in armoede moet leven, waarvan ruim 50 miljoen zelfs afhankelijk is van voedselbonnen……. Uiteraard is ook de toegang van arme groepen tot de gezondheidszorg een speerpunt voor Sanders, waar de grote onderlaag nog steeds geen of slechte toegang tot gezondheidszorg heeft……

De VS geeft nu meer dan 700 miljard dollar uit aan oorlogsvoering, althans volgens het SIPRI, echter er wordt nog veel meer uitgegeven aan oorlogsvoering, daar er bijvoorbeeld geen budgetten voor geheime oorlogsvoering (o.l.v. de CIA) bekend worden gemaakt, noch de kosten voor het opzetten van opstanden (om tot een coup te leiden van VS niet welgevallige landen), noch de kosten voor geheime cyberaanvallen (ofwel cyberterreur), noch die voor economische oorlogsvoering die bijvoorbeeld in Venezuela al tot 40.000 doden heeft geleid……*

Sanders houdt het oorlogsbudget overigens op 1,5 triljard dollar, wat in onze weergave van die getalsaanduiding dik meer dan 1 biljoen dollar is…… Terwijl de VS tegelijkertijd amper iets doet tegen de klimaatverandering, is oorlogsvoering ook nog eens een enorme aanjager is van de klimaatverandering……..

Vergeet verder niet dat de VS jaarlijks miljoenen kwijtraakt door de enorme bosbranden, waarbij vorig jaar zelfs een stadje bijna geheel werd weggevaagd…… Om over de vele miljarden schade door orkanen maar te zwijgen, beiden weergerelateerde rampen die één op één te danken zijn aan de klimaatverandering, ofwel: hoe dom en/of gevaarlijk moet je zijn om dan nog klimaatscepticus te spelen, zoals Trump en andere fascisten/neoliberalen (2 kanten van dezelfde medaille), zoals Bolsonaro in Brazilië dat doen……

Democratic Party debate on 28 June. Sanders insisted that, instead of
spending obscene amounts of money on weapons, tackling climate
catastrophe should be a key priority.

He
also attacked the
levels of poverty and inequality that exist in the US. And he argued
that people must stand up and be counted if they want things to
change.

Sanders slammed both
US militarism and Washington’s lack of action on climate breakdown.
He insisted that “instead of spending a trillion and a half dollars
on weapons of destruction”, the real enemy is climate
catastrophe. Calling
it the
“common enemy”, he went on to declare that the goal should be to:

“transform
the world’s energy system away from fossil fuel to energy
efficiency and sustainable energy”.

world’s future, he said,
“rests on us doing that”:

stopping there, Sanders also proclaimed his opposition
to a war with Iran.
He asserted:

“I
will do everything I can to prevent a war with Iran which would be
far worse than the disastrous war with Iraq”.

Change

Sanders
went on to state that
many people watching the debate probably believe that nothing changes
in the US and wonder:

“How
come, for the last 45 years, wages have been stagnant for the middle
class? How come we have the highest rate of childhood poverty? How
come 45 million people still have student debt? How come three people
own more wealth than the bottom half of America?”

His answer was
that:

“nothing
will change unless we have the guts to take on Wall Street, the
insurance industry, the pharmaceutical industry, the
military-industrial complex, and the fossil-fuel industry”.

And
if this doesn’t happen, he argued,
the “rich will get richer” while everyone else struggles:

Bernie
Sanders showed during the debate that he understands this holistic
approach. From his criticism of US militarism to his understanding of
inequality in the US, he is head and shoulders above the likes of
Biden.

If
change is going to happen, Sanders becoming president would be a
strong step in the right direction.

1984 het boek van George Orwell: niet langer fictie…….

Robert
Bridge heeft een artikel geschreven waarin hij aangeeft dat we in
feite al in een maatschappij leven zoals in 1984 door George Orwell
beschreven.

Niet
vreemd als je ziet dat de controle van de staat in feite doorgaat tot
achter de voordeur, dit via de smartphone, laptop, tablet, enz. Op
straat, zeker in de steden is er zoveel cameracontrole, dat je bijna
geen stap kan zetten of men kan je
volgen. (politie, geheime diensten en zelfs particuliere beveiligingsfirma’s) Dit nog naast de positiebepaling via gps van de
smartphone (zelfs al schakel je dat uit, ‘weet de smartphone’ waar
deze zich bevindt….)…. Eén ding is zeker, van ons recht op privacy is nog amper iets over, een teken aan de wand……

Het
voorgaande naast de steeds hardere roep om censuur van westerse
politici en de reguliere westerse media, censuur op alternatieve nieuwssites,
terwijl juist de reguliere media zich keer op keer beschuldigen aan
het brengen van ‘fake news’ (nepnieuws) en het manipuleren van de
gebruikers, manipulaties als het demoniseren van bepaalde politici
(zoals Corbyn in GB en Sanders in de VS) en bepaald niet in de
laatste plaats door het herhalen van intussen al doorgeprikte
leugens, men doet net of de neus bloedt en verkoopt oude leugens als
feitelijke informatie…..

Dan is er nog het vervalsen van geschiedenis, alweer middels de hiervoor aangehaalde manipulaties en nepnieuwsberichten, maar ook middels scholing, waar men nepnieuws van decennia geleden als waarheid onderwijst, het westerse land dat zich hier m.n. aan beschuldigt is de VS, al heeft Nederland generaties op school geleerd dat Nederland geen en later zelden schuldig maakte aan oorlogsmisdaden in Indonesië…. (benieuwd hoe e.e.a. nu wordt onderwezen, het zou me niet verbazen dat er nog steeds over ‘excessen’ wordt gesproken in de geschiedenislesboeken, als het gaat om Nederlandse militaire barbarij……..) 

Ook het feit dat bekende figuren zich kunnen aanmelden als zij vinden dat bepaalde (smerige) zaken waar zij verantwoordelijk voor zijn, al te lang op het internet staan en deze vervolgens op verzoek van deze plorken worden verwijderd (geschiedvervalsing in wording!!) Een ander voorbeeld is de leugen dat Karst Tatus in Apeldoorn tien jaar geleden een aanslag pleegde op het koningshuis, alleen bedoeld om het sjoemelende en belasting ontduikende koningshuis meer populariteit te bezorgen……

years ago, the British writer George Orwell
captured the essence of technology in
its ability to shape our destinies in his seminal work, 1984. The
tragedy of our times is that we have failed to heed his warning.


No matter how many times I read 1984, the feeling of total helplessness and despair that weaves itself throughout Orwell’s masterpiece never fails to take me by surprise. Although usually referred to as a ‘dystopian futuristic novel’, it is actually a horror story on a scale far greater than anything that has emerged from the minds of prolific writers like Stephen King or Dean Koontz. The reason is simple. The nightmare world that the protagonist Winston Smith inhabits, a place called Oceania, is all too easily imaginable. Man, as opposed to some imaginary clown or demon, is the evil monster. 

In the very first pages of the book, Orwell demonstrates an uncanny ability to foresee future trends in technology. Describing the protagonist Winston Smith’s frugal London flat, he mentions an instrument called a ‘telescreen’, which sounds strikingly similar to the handheld ‘smartphone’ that is enthusiastically used by billions of people around the world today.

Orwell
describes the ubiquitous device as an “oblong
metal plaque like a dulled mirror” affixed
to the wall that “could
be dimmed, but there was no way of shutting it off completely.” Sound
familiar? It
is through this gadget that the rulers of Oceania are able to monitor
the actions of its citizens every minute of every day. At
the same time, the denizens of 1984 were never allowed to forget they
were living in a totalitarian surveillance state, under the control
of the much-feared Thought Police. Massive posters with the slogan
‘Big Brother is Watching You’ were as prevalent as our modern-day
advertising billboards. Today, however, such polite warnings about
surveillance would seem redundant, as reports of unauthorized spying
still gets the occasional lazy nod in the media now and then.

In
fact, just in time for 1984’s anniversary, it has
been reported that
the National Security Agency (NSA) has once again been illicitly
collecting records on telephone calls and text messages placed by US
citizens. This
latest invasion of
privacy has been casually dismissed as an “error” after
an unnamed telecommunications firm handed over call records the NSA
allegedly “hadn’t
requested” and “weren’t
approved” by
the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court. In 2013, former CIA
employee Edward Snowden blew the whistle on the NSA’s intrusive
surveillance operations, yet somehow the government agency is able to
continue – with the help of the corporate sector – vacuuming up
the private information of regular citizens. 

Another
method of control alluded to in 1984 fell under a system of speech
known as ‘Newspeak’, which attempted to reduce the language to
‘doublethink’, with the ulterior motive of controlling ideas and
thoughts. For
example, the term ‘joycamp’, a truncated term every bit as
euphemistic as the ‘PATRIOT Act’, was used to describe a forced
labor camp, whereas a ‘doubleplusgood duckspeaker’ was used to
praise an orator who ‘quacked’ correctly with regards to the
political situation.

Another
Newspeak term, known as ‘facecrime’, provides yet another
striking parallel to our modern situation. Defined as “to
wear an improper expression on your face (to look incredulous when a
victory was announced, for example) was itself a punishable
offense.” It
would be difficult for the modern reader to hear the term ‘facecrime’
and not connect it with ‘Facebook’, the social media platform
that regularly censors content
creators for expressing thoughts it finds ‘hateful’ or
inappropriate. What
social media users need is an Orwellian lesson in ‘crimestop’,
which Orwell defined as “the
faculty of stopping short, as though by instinct, at the threshold of
any dangerous thought.” Those
so-called unacceptable ‘dangerous thoughts’ were determined not
by the will of the people, of course, but by their rulers.

And
yes, it gets worse. Just this week, Mark Zuckerberg’s ‘private
company’ agreed to
give French authorities the“identification
data” of
Facebook users suspected of spreading ‘hate speech’ on the
platform, in what would be an unprecedented move on the part of
Silicon Valley.

‘Hate
speech’ is precisely one of those delightfully vague, subjective
terms with no real meaning that one would expect to find in the
Newspeak style guide. Short
of threatening the life of a person or persons, individuals should be
free to criticize others without fear of reprisal, least of all from
the state, which should be in the business of protecting free speech
at all cost.

Another
modern phenomenon that would be right at home in Orwell’s Oceania
is the obsession with political correctness, which is defined as “the
avoidance of forms of expression or action that are perceived to
exclude, marginalize, or insult groups of people who are socially
disadvantaged or discriminated against.” But
since so many people today identify with some marginalized group,
this has made the intelligent discussion of controversial ideas –
not least of all on US college campuses,
of all places – exceedingly difficult, if not downright
dangerous. Orwell
must be looking down on all of this madness with much surprise, since
he provided the world with the best possible warning to prevent it.

For
anyone who entertains expectations for a happy ending in 1984, be
prepared for serious disappointment (spoiler alert, for the few who
have somehow not read this book). Although Winston Smith manages to
finally experience love, the brief romance – like a delicate flower
that was able to take root amid a field of asphalt – is crushed by
the authorities with shocking brutality. Not satisfied with merely
destroying the relationship, however, Smith is forced to betray his
‘Julia’ after undergoing the worst imaginable torture at the
‘Ministry of Love’.

The
book ends with the words, “He
had won the victory over himself. He loved Big Brother.” Will
we too declare, like Winston Smith, our love for ‘Big Brother’
above all else, or will we emerge victorious against the forces of a
technological tyranny that appears to be just over the horizon? Or is
Orwell’s 1984 just really good fiction and not the instruction
manual for tyrants many have come to fear it is?

China is voorts het land dat mensen daadwerkelijk wil heropvoeden, waar de VS gevluchte ouders scheidt van hun kinderen, om zo nieuwe vluchtelingen op te voeden vooral niet naar de VS te vertrekken (vooral vanuit Latijns-Amerika, waar de VS de directe verantwoordelijke is voor de grote ellende waarin velen daar moeten leven, ellende waarvoor deze mensen vluchten….)……
