Afgelopen vrijdagmorgen was Martin Sitalsing, de politiechef voor de regio Midden-Nederland te horen op Radio1 (rond 8.40 u.). Reden voor het in de uitzending halen van deze politiechef is zijn voornemen om meer mensen bij de politie te betrekken van andere culturen dan de Nederlandse (voor het beroep van politieagent). Daarmee wil Sitalsing het aantal agenten van ‘andere culturen’ in steden op 35% krijgen…… Als ik me niet vergis wordt dit de vierde poging sinds het begin van deze eeuw om agenten met een andere achtergrond dan de Nederlandse te trekken voor het beroep van politieagent……
Met geen woord werd er gesproken over het pesten door collega’s van agenten met een ‘allochtone achtergrond…..’ Terwijl het uiteraard belangrijk is te weten waarom zoveel van deze agenten sinds het begin van deze eeuw de politie vaarwel hebben gezegd….. Ofwel deze agenten verlieten de korpsen vanwege racisme en daarmee fascisten binnen het korps…. (voorbeelden te over, zoals bureau De Heemstraat in Den Haag…..)
‘Echt een toffe peer’, die Sitalsing…..
Over racisme gesproken: volgens Sitalsing is de racistische zaak in het Rotterdamse korps een incident…… ha! ha! ha! ha! Oh wellicht dat je niet weet wat ik bedoel: het gaat om agenten die zich op de sociale media bij herhaling beschuldigden aan racistische uitspraken, daarvoor werden ze vorig jaar al eens berispt, i.p.v. het onmiddellijk ontslaan van deze agenten, immers je kan met 100% zekerheid stellen dat deze agenten zich tijdens hun werk beschuldigen aan etnisch profileren, een klacht die al zo vaak is gevallen in ons land en dan gaat het om bewezen klachten…… Onlangs werd bekend gemaakt dat dezelfde agenten, ondanks de eerdere berisping, zich nog steeds op dezelfde manier uitlaten op de sociale media (Facebook, Twitter, enz.)…..
De uitlating van Sitalsing dat het om ‘incidenten’ gaat doet denken aan de ‘Excessennota’ uit 1969 wat betreft Nederlandse oorlogsmisdaden in Indonesië, ook daar zou het om incidenten gaan, maar uiteindelijk heeft Nederland toe moeten geven dat deze oorlogsmisdaden aan de orde van de dag werden begaan…… Terwijl dezelfde Sitalsing moest toegeven dat etnisch profileren door de politie op grote schaal gebeurt en dat men ook daar iets aan zal doen, waar de politietop eerder durfde te zeggen dat het om enkele incidenten ging…. Etnisch profileren is een racistische manier van aanhouden, waarbij de politie vooral mensen aanhoudt omdat ze een andere huidskleur hebben…… Kortom sufferd Sitalsing sprak zichzelf tegen!!
Sitalsing sprak over steden, alsof etnisch profileren niet voorkomt op ‘het platte land’, uiteraard je reinste kul, daar ook op het platteland volop aan etnisch profileren wordt gedaan…..
Als Sitalsing wil dat er meer agenten van allochtone afkomst de korpsen gaan bemensen, zou hij beter kunnen zorgen dat men geen rechtse figuren meer aanneemt bij de politie, want de Nederlandse politie zit als het leger bomvol met (extreem) rechtse figuren!!! Agenten die niet mee wensen te doen aan het pesten van collega’s met een andere dan Nederlandse achtergrond, of die zich niet willen beschuldigen aan etnisch profileren, worden ofwel het korps uit gepest of ze worden als wijkagent aangesteld, logisch daar een wijkagent in een buurt met veel burgers met een allochtone achtergrond, zich niet kan beschuldigen aan racisme, daar deze dan geen poot aan de grond krijgt…..
‘Grapperhaus (CDA minister Justitie) komt met fascistisch wetsvoorstel t.b.v. wapenvergunning‘ (waarin aandacht voor het feit dat echt linkse mensen geen wapenvergunning kunnen krijgen in ons land en extreem rechtse figuren zoals van de PVV en Leidse corpsballen geen probleem hebben om een wapenvergunning te krijgen, waar de laatste groep zelfs wordt opgeleid om in te grijpen in geval van een noodtoestand of in oorlogssituaties!!!)
In een
vijf uur durend parlementair verhoor heeft het congres in de VS
(hé!) de CEO’s van de grote techbedrijven geëist dat ze een meer
agressieve censuur op hun platforms (de sociale media) moeten doorvoeren, aldus Glenn
Greenwald, die vervolgd met te zeggen dat het werkelijke repressieve
doel van het door de Democraten gedomineerde congres is om de macht
van toezicht en censuur op de politieke maatschappelijke ‘discussie’
van deze techbedrijven naar zichzelf toe te trekken………
Het
congres en een paar sub-comités hebben tijdens deze 5,5 uur durende
verhoor meermaals bij 3 tech CEO’s aangedrongen om meer politiek
inhoud te censureren op hun platforms, waarbij de 3 werden gedreigd
met ‘wettelijke vergelding’ als ze niet voldoen aan deze eis……
Je begrijpt dat e.e.a. het gevolg is van de bestorming van het Capitol op 6 januari jl., waarvoor deze 3 CEO’s tijdens het verhoor geen verantwoording op zich wensten te nemen…… Het verhoor was volgens Greenwald een verbluffende weergave van de
groeiende autoritaire poging van het congres om de macht die deze
techbedrijven van de sociale media hebben op het politieke debat naar
zichzelf toe te trekken voor de eigen politieke belangen en
doelen….. Kortom men wil de sociale media zoals Facebook, Twitter
en Google controleren uit eigenbelang……
De Democratische kwaadaardigheid Lizzie Fletcher suggereerde dat de overheid een lijst met organisaties moet opstellen, die het zelf aanmerkt als binnenlandse terreurorganisatie en waar de genoemde techbedrijven de groepen op die lijst zouden moeten zien als terreurorganisaties ISIS en Al Qaida, ofwel de berichten van die organisaties verwijderen en accounts opheffen….. Let wel: het gaat daarbij niet alleen om rechts radicale of beter gezegd fascistische groepen, die verantwoordelijk zijn voor de bestorming van het Capitol, maar ook om organisaties als Antifa, Black Lives Matter (BLM), vredesgroeperingen en milieuorganisaties…… (in Groot-Brittannië vinden al een aantal dagen demonstraties plaats tegen de wil van politie en politici om demonstraties te kunnen verbieden, ofwel ook daar wil men diverse actiegroepen monddood maken….)
Dit is
de derde keer binnen 5 maanden dat men in de VS deze CEO’s ter verantwoording
riep over de politieke uitingen op hun platforms; moet je nagaan:
e.e.a. terwijl die 3 platforms al censuur uitoefenen op hun platforms
en dat op schandelijke hoogte, zelfs in ons land worden berichten op
die platforms ontoegankelijk gemaakt, zoals Twitter berichten van de
politiek activist Sarah Wilkinson over Israëlische agressie tegen
Palestijnen, deze zijn meermaals verwijderd van haar platform, of wat dacht je
van de censuur die Google en YouTube uitoefenen op berichten en
video’s van Brasscheck TV…….
Overigens verwijderden Facebook en Twitter al een enorm aantal accounts van Palestijnen die terecht kritiek hadden op het bloedige optreden van Israël, zonder dat ze antisemitische bewoordingen gebruikten…… Israël is al een paar jaar bezig om de westerse landen zover te krijgen dat elke kritiek op Israël moet worden gezien als antisemitisme, de reguliere westerse media dragen daar een flinke steen aan bij, zo kostte dit Jeremy Corbyn de laatste landelijke verkiezingen in Groot-Brittannië, ook de media in ons land deden daar vol vuur aan mee, terwijl Crobyn juist z’n leven lang al een groot tegenstander is van fascisme en antisemitisme……
Neem
ook de censuur op foto’s en video’s op het internet waarin geweld
tegen dieren in de intensieve veehouderij (en daarmee bedoel ik de
hele keten, dus ook de slachthuizen) worden gecensureerd, oké je kan
na nog een keer klikken de meeste video’s nog wel zien, maar foto’s
worden telkens weer verwijderd….. De nieuwste ‘vinding’ op censuurgebied is dat je moet bewijzen dat je volwassen bent en dat middels het tonen van een creditcard of je identiteitsbewijs, dan kan het nog 3 dagen duren vioor de video wordt vrijgegeven, ook al zit je al meer dan 18 jaar op de sociale media……. Je kan er donder op zeggen dat de
machtige landbouwlobby hier aan de touwtjes trekt…… Zonder
probleem kan die lobby smerige misleiding middels video’s en
berichten op de sociale media plaatsen, daar wordt niet eens gekeken
of hier sprake is van misleiding en manipulatie, terwijl daar geen sprake van is bij
degenen die de mensheid de waarheid over deze doodsindustrie willen
laten zien…….
Vergeet
niet dat deze doodsindustrie de klimaatverandering op een gigantische
manier aanjaagt, dit middels de uitstoot van CO2 en methaangas (een
broeikasgas dat meer dan 80 keer zo sterk is dan CO2), terwijl de
landbouw en dan m.n. de intensieve veehouderij in de EU meer CO2
uitstoot dan de totale auto-uitstoot aan CO2 in datzelfde
gebied…… Om over het platbranden van oerwoud t.b.v. de sojateelt
voor die veehouderij nog maar te zwijgen, ook daarbij komen enorme
hoeveelheden CO2 en methaangas vrij, terwijl die enorme bosbranden
zelf de klimaatverandering al verder aanjagen……
Het
is niet de taak van de sociale media om censuur uit te oefenen, daar
zijn zij niet voor in het leven geroepen, immers zij hebben te zorgen
dat hun platforms functioneren voor de doorgave van berichten en meningen, hoe
discutabel deze ook kunnen zijn, op z’n best mogen ze pas ingrijpen
als er tot geweld wordt opgeroepen…… Het is zelfs niet de taak
van politici in een zogenaamde democratie om op te roepen tot
censuur, immers censuur hoort thuis in een dictatuur…… En tot
slot: het is al helemaal niet de taak van de reguliere media om de
politiek op te roepen censuur uit te oefenen op de sociale media, wat
ze wel doen en dat bij herhaling…… Uiteraard om dat steeds meer
mensen deze media volkomen terecht wantrouwen, wegens het brengen van
nepnieuws (fake news) en het steunen van de inhumane neoliberale status quo die
in het belang is van de eigenaren van die media, dan wel voor de
subsidie gevers aan die media, zoals die voor de zogenaamd
onafhankelijke zendgemachtigden als de NOS en de NTR (of neem de BBC in Groot-Brittannië)….. Deze
zendgemachtigden zijn afhankelijk van de zittende regering (zoals
gezegd: voor subsidie) en proberen daarom zoveel mogelijk deze
opvolgende regeringen uit de wind te houden, zie hun berichtgeving
over de deelname van Nederland aan de illegale door de VS begonnen
oorlogen…..
Je
kan er dan ook de klok op gelijkzetten dat de schreeuw om censuur in
de VS ook in de EU en daarom ook in ons land steeds sterker te horen
zal zijn….. Neem hare D66 kwaadaardigheid Ollongren die durfde te
zeggen dat Rusland hier referenda en verkiezingen manipuleert, zonder
daar ook maar 1 steekhoudend bewijs voor te leveren….. Reken maar
dat ze ook voorstander is van censuur op het internet, zogenaamd
tegen Russische beïnvloeding, terwijl ze uiteraard ook enorm de pest
heeft aan kritiek op haar smerige politiek handelen……..

Facebook
CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Google/Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai and Twitter
CEO Jack Dorsey testify before the House Energy and Commerce
Committee, Mar. 25, 2021
Over
the course of
five-plus hours on Thursday, a House Committee along with two
subcommittees badgered three tech CEOs, repeatedly demanding that
they censor more political content from their platforms and vowing
legislative retaliation if they fail to comply. The hearing
— convened by the House Energy and Commerce Committee’s Chair
Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ), and the two Chairs of its
Subcommittees, Mike Doyle (D-PA) and Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) — was
one of the most stunning displays of the growing authoritarian effort
in Congress to commandeer the control which these companies wield
over political discourse for their own political interests and
purposes.
As
I noted when I reported
last month
on the scheduling of this hearing, this was “the third time in less
thanfive
months
that the U.S. Congress has summoned the CEOs of social media
companies to appear before them with the explicit intent to pressure
and coerce them to censor more content from their platforms.” The
bulk of Thursday’s lengthy hearing consisted of one Democratic
member after the next complaining that Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg,
Google/Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai and Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey have
failed in their duties to censor political voices and ideological
content that these elected officials regard as adversarial or
harmful, accompanied by threats that legislative punishment
(including possible revocation of Section 230 immunity) is imminent
in order to force compliance (Section
230
is the provision of the 1996 Communications Decency Act that shields
internet companies from liability for content posted by their users).
Republican
members largely confined their grievances to the opposite concern:
that these social media giants were excessively silencing
conservative voices in order to promote a liberal political agenda
(that complaint is only partially true: a good amount of online
censorship, like growing law enforcement domestic monitoring
generally, focuses on all
anti-establishment ideologies, not
just
the right-wing variant). This editorial censoring, many Republicans
insisted, rendered the tech companies’ Section 230 immunity
obsolete, since they are now acting as publishers rather than mere
neutral transmitters of information. Some Republicans did join with
Democrats in demanding greater censorship, though typically in the
name of protecting children from mental health disorders and
predators rather than ideological conformity.
As
they have done in prior hearings, both Zuckerberg and Pichai spoke
like the super-scripted, programmed automatons that they are, eager
to please their Congressional overseers (though they did periodically
issue what should have been unnecessary warnings that excessive
“content moderation” can cripple free political discourse).
Dorsey, by contrast, seemed at the end of his line of patience and
tolerance for vapid, moronic censorship demands, and — sitting in a
kitchen in front of a pile of plates and glasses — he,
refreshingly, barely bothered to hide that indifference. At one
point, he flatly stated in response to demands that Twitter do more
to remove “disinformation”: “I don’t think we should be the
arbiters of truth and I don’t think the government should be either.”
Zuckerberg
in particular has minimal capacity to communicate the way human
beings naturally do. The Facebook CEO was obviously instructed by a
team of public speaking consultants that it is customary to address
members of the Committee as “Congressman” or “Congresswoman.”
He thus began literally every answer he gave — even in rapid back
and forth questions — with that word. He just refused to move his
mouth without doing that — for five hours (though, in fairness, the
questioning of Zuckerberg was often absurd and unreasonable). His
brain permits no discretion to deviate from his script no matter how
appropriate. For every question directed to him, he paused for
several seconds, had his internal algorithms search for the relevant
place in the metaphorical cassette inserted in a hidden box in his
back, uttered the word “Congressman” or “Congresswoman,”
stopped for several more seconds to search for the next applicable
spot in the spine-cassette, and then proceeded unblinkingly to recite
the words slowly transmitted into his neurons. One could practically
see the gears in his head painfully churning as the cassette rewound
or fast-forwarded. This tortuous ritual likely consumed roughly
thirty percent of the hearing time. I’ve never seen members of
Congress from across the ideological spectrum so united as they were
by visceral contempt for Zuckerberg’s non-human comportment:
But
it is vital not to lose sight of how truly despotic hearings like
this are. It is easy to overlook because we have become so accustomed
to political leaders successfully demanding that social media
companies censor the internet in accordance with their whims. Recall
that Parler, at the time it was the most-downloaded app in the
country, was removed in January from the Apple and Google Play Stores
and then denied internet service by Amazon, only after two
very prominent Democratic House members
publicly demanded this. At the last pro-censorship hearing convened
by Congress, Sen. Ed Markey (D-MA) explicitly
declared
that the Democrats’ grievance is not that these companies are
censoring too much but rather not
enough.
One Democrat after the next at Thursday’s hearing described all the
content on the internet they want gone: or else. Many of them said
this explicitly.
At
one point toward the end of the hearing, Rep. Lizzie Fletcher (D-TX),
in the context of the January 6 riot, actually suggested that the
government should create a list of organizations they unilaterally
deem to be “domestic terror organization” and then provide it
tech companies as guidance for what discussions they should “track
and remove”: in other words, treat these groups the same was as
ISIS and Al Qaeda.
Words
cannot convey how chilling and authoritarian this all is: watching
government officials, hour after hour, demand censorship of political
speech and threaten punishment for failures to obey. As I detailed
last month, the U.S. Supreme Court has repeatedly ruled that the
state violates the First Amendment’s free speech guarantee when
they coerce private actors to censor for them — exactly the
tyrannical goal to which these hearings are singularly devoted.
There
are genuine problems posed by Silicon Valley monopoly power.
Monopolies are a threat to both political freedom and competition,
which is why economists of most ideological persuasions have long
urged the need to prevent them. There is some encouraging legislation
pending in Congress with bipartisan support (including in the House
Antitrust Subcommittee before which I testified several weeks ago)
that would make meaningful and productive strides toward diluting the
unaccountable and undemocratic power these monopolies wield over our
political and cultural lives. If these hearings were about
substantively considering those antitrust
measures, they would be meritorious.
But
that is hard and difficult work and that is not what these hearings
are about. They want the worst of all worlds: to maintain Silicon
Valley monopoly power but transfer the immense, menacing power to
police our discourse from those companies into the hands of the
Democratic-controlled Congress and Executive Branch.
And
as I have repeatedly documented, it is not just Democratic
politicians agitating for greater political censorship but also their
liberal journalistic allies, who cannot tolerate that there may be
any places on the internet that they cannot control. That is the
petty wannabe-despot mentality that has driven them to police
the “unfettered” discussions
on the relatively new conversation app Clubhouse, and escalate
their attempts
to have writers they disliked removed from Substack. Just today, The
New York Times warns,
on its front page, that there are “unfiltered” discussions taking
place on Google-enabled podcasts:

We
are taught from childhood that a defining hallmark of repressive
regimes is that political officials wield power to silence ideas and
people they dislike, and that, conversely, what makes the U.S. a
“free” society is the guarantee that American leaders are barred
from doing so. It is impossible to reconcile that claim with what
happened in that House hearing room over the course of five hours on
Thursday.

Gisteren
werd bekendgemaakt dat Twitter een nieuwe vorm van censuur zal
introduceren, dit sociaal media platform voert als Facebook en
YouTube al geruime tijd censuur uit ook in ons land…… Voor de
nieuwe manier waarop Twitter censuur zal uitoefenen heeft het naar
Wikipedia gekeken, waar men berichten bekijkt en controleert op
‘misinformatie’ en ‘misleidende’ informatie verwijdert. Eén en ander
op basis van een door de gemeenschap van gebruikers gecontroleerde
inhoud en dat (nogmaals) vergeleken met de manier waarop Wikipedia
bijdragen op inhoud controleert. Bij Twitter noemt men deze vorm van
censuur ‘Birdwatch….’
Bij
Wikipedia heeft e.e.a geleid tot een manier van behandeling van
informatie die wordt gegeven over een onderwerp zoals oorlog en vrede, deze wordt weergegeven zoals die door de westerse
machthebbers graag wordt gezien, ofwel daar wordt juist misinformatie
en nepnieuws (fake news) gebruikt als leidend in artikelen die op zoekopdrachten worden
weergegeven…… Anders gezegd: Wikipedia is op heel veel vlakken al
lang niet meer te vertrouwen, zoals je ook regelmatig op dit blog
hebt kunnen lezen.
Het
is te zot voor woorden dat in feite platforms bedoeld voor het delen
van informatie door gebruikers zich beschuldigen aan censuur en dat
op een manier zoals die wordt gebruikt in dictaturen, ofwel de
propaganda van zo’n dictatuur is leidend en dat betekent in het
westen dat de neoliberale ideologie leidend is in artikelen over de
huidige maatschappij en alles wat daarbij komt zoals het al eerder
aangehaalde voorbeeld van oorlog en vrede….. Alsof je de eerste
beste slechte journalist van de Telegraaf censuur laat uitvoeren…..
Het is zoals al zo vaak gezegd geen taak van sociale media platforms
om censuur uit te oefenen op wat gebruikers te zeggen hebben, zij
dienen alleen als doorgeefluik!!
Na Donald Trump roepen nu zelfs de zogenaamde linkse krachten in de Democratische Partij (en een aantal buiten die partij) in de VS om censuur op de sociale media, zonder dat ze beseffen dat ze zelf de gevolgen van die censuur over zich heen zullen krijgen, door blokkering van de accounts die ze op die sociale media gebruiken…….. Kritiek geuit op de sociale media t.a.v. een volgende illegale oorlog van de VS? Grote kans dat dit binnen afzienbare tijd zal worden ‘weggecensureerd’ op de sociale media……. Terwijl er op de sociale media volop propaganda wordt gemaakt voor het voeren van oorlogen….. (over het weren van geweld op die media gesproken…..)
Als
het zo doorgaat is er van het internet zoals wij dit kennen straks niet veel
meer over en zal je voor alternatieve nieuwsgaring naar het dark web
moeten…… (iets wat de reguliere westerse media en politici het liefst zo snel mogelijk voor elkaar willen krijgen, men schreeuwt erom bij wijze van spreken….) Voorts kan er niet genoeg op worden gehamerd dat censuur alleen thuishoort in een dictatuur als een politiestaat, wat de VS in feite al is….
Overigens een schandaal dat Twitter het woord birdwatch gebruikt, een jaarlijks werkerend gebeuren waarbij burgers het aantal vogels tellen in hun tuin of op hun balkon en niet bedoeld om burgers te laten klikken over wat hen niet welgevallig is….. (en reken maar dat de zogenaamde journalisten van de reguliere westerse media vooraan staan om zaken aan te geven, terwijl ze zichzelf keer op keer beschuldigen aan het brengen van nepnieuws, neem alleen al de berichtgeving van deze ‘journalisten’ over de illegale oorlogen die de VS deze eeuw is begonnen…….)
CaitlinJohnstone heeft een artikel geschreven over deze zaak, waarin
ze wat dieper ingaat op de stof en waarschuwt voor de desastreuze
gevolgen van censuur en waarbij ze volkomen terecht stelt dat degenen die de informatie controleren en
beheersen, in feite de wereld beheersen (of: wie het nieuws beheerst, beheerst de wereld……):
Twitter has
announced
that it will be employing “a new community-driven approach to
help address misleading information” called Birdwatch which news
media are comparing to the model of content moderation used by
Wikipedia.
“Twitter
unveiled a feature Monday meant to bolster its efforts to combat
misinformation and disinformation by tapping users in a fashion
similar to Wikipedia to flag potentially misleading tweets,” reports
NBC.
“The new system allows users to discuss and provide context to
tweets they believe are misleading or false. The project, titled
Birdwatch, is a standalone section of Twitter that will at first only
be available to a small set of users, largely on a first-come,
first-served basis.”
Twitter Launches Birdwatch, A Wikipedia-Style Approach To Fight Misinformation On Birdwatch, users will see crowdsourced notes from volunteers attached to tweets.
“We
know there are a number of challenges toward building a
community-driven system like this — from making it resistant to
manipulation attempts to ensuring it isn’t dominated by a simple
majority or biased based on its distribution of contributors,”
Twitter’s official
statement
says. “We’ll be focused on these things throughout the pilot.”
Such
claims provide little reassurance for anyone who’s familiar with the
establishment narrative control operations which take place on
Wikipedia in exactly that way. The
Grayzone‘s
Ben Norton did a
great two-part report last
year on the way concerted, aggressive efforts by a small group of
shady-looking Wikipedia editors has succeeded in dominating the
site’s articles which relate to western imperialist agendas and the
reporters who support and oppose those agendas, including getting
outlets like WikiLeaks
and The
Grayzone
banned from use as sources despite their having no history of false
reports.
“The
internet encyclopedia has become a deeply undemocratic platform,
dominated by Western state-backed actors and corporate public
relations flacks, easily manipulated by powerful forces,” wrote
Norton. “And it is run by figures who often represent these same
elite interests, or align with their regime-change politics.”
Wikipedia
is a scam. It’s a propaganda vehicle for intelligence agencies,

Since
2018 alternative media voices like The
Canary
and Media
Lens
have been reporting on the frenetic editing behavior of a Wikipedia
account by the name of “Philip Cross” which works an
inhuman number of hours
without ever taking a day off, largely targeting the accounts of
those who criticize the western empire and voice skepticism of its
dominant narratives.
This
kind of aggressive narrative management campaign is why when you look
at any Wikipedia article about an internationally disputed issue on
the world stage, say for example the article about the alleged chemical
weapons attack in Douma, Syria,
you’ll see the word “Bellingcat” no fewer than 20 times as
of this writing and a heavy bias toward the western narrative that
the Syrian government was responsible for the attack, but won’t find
information about the gaping plot holes in the story like the ones
documented in this
excellent article
by The
Nation‘s
Aaron Maté, nor will you see any links back to this article.
So
it’s already established that this sort of “community-driven
approach” to information control can easily be exploited by
well-funded groups which have a vested interest in doing so. The fact
that Twitter has already been functioning
as a propaganda arm
of the US government with regard to its willingness to deplatform
accounts from imperialism-targeted nations like Iran, Venezuela,
Russia and China means we can only expect this bias to go one way
with regard to imperialist narrative management.

The
fact that this “Birdwatch” program will most likely be used
to determine the dominant narrative on disputed events like potential
false flags and what’s happening in nations like China and Syria
means it’s obnoxious that Twitter’s
post promoting it features
an imaginary account saying “Whales are not real! They’re robots
funded by the government to watch us!!” As though that sort of
indisputable falsehood is the sort of post this program will actually
be targeting rather than people expressing doubts about things like
Russian hackers and the White Helmets.
Twitter
chose to use “whales aren’t real” as its example of the
“misinformation” its new program will be “fighting”
not because it is cute and funny, but because using any of the actual
narratives it will wind up manipulating would have set off people’s
alarm bells. Imagine the reaction if they’d chosen something like
Covid vaccinations for example, even though this could very well end
up being one of the issues Birdwatch winds up exercising narrative
control over.
Whoever
controls the narrative controls the world. That’s all you’re ever
seeing in all the efforts to manage information via censorship,
algorithm changes, “fact” checking, Russian propaganda
panic, etc. Humans are story-driven animals, so if you control the
stories you control the humans.
The
US-centralized oligarchic empire will be doing a lot of evil things
in the near future, and it will be necessary to control the narrative
about those things. That’s all we’re really looking at here.

de aanloop naar de VS presidentsverkiezingen heeft Joe Biden,
hoogstwaarschijnlijk de nieuwe president van de VS, gepleit voor
censuur van het internet, in de eerste plaats om de twitterberichten
van Trump aangaande stemmen per post te blokkeren……
Bill
Russo, een vooraanstaande medewerker van Joe Biden, heeft vorige week
maandag laten weten dat Facebook aangepakt moet
worden, daar dit platform berichten laat staan die hij misleidend
vindt. Hij postte een twitterbericht met de volgende tekst:
(Facebook, Ap) “is shredding the fabric of our democracy”, ofwel
Facebook vernietigt onze democratie……. Het is duidelijk dat
wanneer figuren als Russo ooit als president aan de macht zouden komen*, het dan afgelopen zal zijn met die democratie, door juist
één van de fundamenten van democratie te vernielen: de vrijheid van
meningsuiting voor iedereen……..
Russo
twitterde verder en stelde dat als je was geschrokken van het
vernietigen van de democratie voor de verkiezingen, je nog veel meer
vernietiging van de democratie staat te wachten na de verkiezingen
Eén
en ander nadat tijdens de verkiezingscampagne bijvoorbeeld
berichtgeving over Hunter Biden, de zoon van de nieuwe president,
werd gecensureerd, berichtgeving over misdadig handelen van die
zoon…… Niemand in het team van Biden vond deze censuur een
bedreiging van de democratie, terwijl dit uiteraard wel zo is…..
Men stelt doodleuk dat het hier gaat om bedrijven en niet om personen
en er daarom geen sprake is van censuur…… ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Ja
ik lach wel, maar het is natuurlijk in- en intriest dat het team
van de komende president zo over democratie en censuur denkt…….
Russo
stelde dat hij dit probleem al een jaar lang heeft aangekaart bij
Facebook, maar hij geen antwoord krijgt en dat de democratie groot
gevaar loopt…… Wellicht is Russo vergeten dat Facebook begin dit
jaar nog heeft aangegeven dat het misleidende informatie van
presidentskandidaten, dus ook van Joe Biden, niet zal verwijderen van
haar platform…..
Nogmaals:
het zijn de Democraten die een gevaar zijn voor de democratie,
juist door censuur te eisen, een zaak die alleen thuishoort in
dictaturen……
Jonathan
Turley, de schrijver van het hieronder opgenomen artikel stelt dat
hij zichzelf ziet als een Internet ‘originalist’ en internet
‘originalisme’ kan alleen bestaan zonder censuur. De sociale media bedrijven moeten zich
houden aan hun originele taak, het doorgeven van berichten, i.p.v.
zich te begeven op het gladde ijs van politieke vooringenomenheid en
opportunisme, aldus Turley, die vervolgde met te zeggen dat deze bedrijven immers eenzelfde taak hebben als telefoonbedrijven!!
Volgens Turley hebben we geen bedrijven nodig die ons beschermen
tegen schadende of misleidende gedachten. De oplossing voor slechte
informatie is meer informatie en geen door anderen toegestane informatie, aldus
Turley en daarin heeft hij groot gelijk!!

Censorship On The Internet

– We have been discussing
the calls for top Democrats for increased private censorship on
social media and the Internet. President-elect Joe Biden has
himself called for such censorship, including blocking President
Donald Trump’s criticism of mail-in voting. Now, shortly after the
election, one of Biden’s top aides is ramping up calls for a
crackdown on Facebook for allowing Facebook users to read views that
he considers misleading — users who signed up to hear from these
individuals. Bill Russo, a deputy communications director on
Biden’s campaign press team, tweeted
late Monday that Facebook “is shredding the fabric of our
democracy” by allowing such views to be shared freely.
Russo tweeted that “If
you thought disinformation on Facebook was a problem during our
election, just wait until you see how it is shredding the fabric of
our democracy in the days after.” Russo objected to the fact that,
unlike Twitter, Facebook did not move against statements that he and
the campaign viewed as “misleading.” He concluded.
“We pleaded with Facebook for over a year to be serious about these
problems. They have not. Our democracy is on the line. We need
answers.”
Steve
Bannon literally called for the beheading of FBI Director Wray and
Dr. Fauci in a video on November 3. It was live on Facebook for 10
hours before it was removed after a journalist inquired about the
video.
For those of us in the
free speech community, these threats are chilling. We saw incredible
abuses before the election in Twitter barring access to a true
story in the New York Post about Hunter Biden and his alleged
global influence peddling scheme. Notably, no one in the Biden camp
(including Biden himself) thought that it was a threat to our
democracy to have Twitter block the story (while later admitting that
it was a mistake).
I have previously
objected to such regulation of speech. What is most disturbing is how
liberals have embraced censorship and even declared that “China
was right” on Internet controls. Many Democrats have
fallen back on the false narrative that the First Amendment does not
regulate private companies so this is not an attack on free speech.
Free speech is a human right that is not solely based or exclusively
defined by the First Amendment. Censorship by Internet
companies is a “Little Brother” threat long discussed by free
speech advocates. Some may willingly embrace corporate speech
controls but it is still a denial of free speech.
The
alternative is “internet originalism” — no censorship. If
social media companies returned to their original roles, there would
be no slippery slope of political bias or opportunism; they would
assume the same status as telephone companies. We do not need
companies to protect us from harmful or “misleading” thoughts.
The solution to bad speech is more speech, not approved speech.
If Pelosi
demanded that Verizon or Sprint interrupt calls to stop people saying
false or misleading things, the public would be outraged. Twitter
serves the same communicative function between consenting parties; it
simply allows thousands of people to participate in such digital
exchanges. Those people do not sign up to exchange thoughts only to
have Dorsey or some other internet overlord monitor their
conversations and “protect” them from errant or harmful thoughts.
Russo’s comments
mirror the comments of other Democrats who are seeking greater
censorship. Indeed, in the recent Senate hearing on Twitter’s
suppression of the Biden story, Democratic senators ignored the
admissions of Big Tech CEOs that they were wrong to bar the story
and, instead, insisted that the CEOs pledge to substantially increase
such censorship. Senator Jacky Rosen warned the CEOS that “you are
not doing enough” to prevent “disinformation, conspiracy theories
and hate speech on your platforms.”
Again, as someone
raised in a deeply liberal and Democratic family in Chicago, I do not
know when the Democratic party became the party for censorship.
However, limiting free speech is now a rallying cry for Democratic
members and activists alike. At risk is the single greatest invention
for free speech since the printing press. Russo’s comments
reaffirms that the Biden Administration will continue this assault
against Internet free speech. What is most unnerving is that
Russo is denouncing such free speech as “shredding the fabric of
our democracy.” There was a time when free speech was the very
right that we fought to protect in our democratic system. It
was one of the defining principles of our Constitution system. It is
now being treated as a threat to that system.
Jonathan
Turley is an American attorney, legal scholar, writer, commentator,
and legal analyst in broadcast and print journalism. He is a
professor at the George Washington University Law School, and has
testified in United States Congressional proceedings about
constitutional and statutory issues. – “Source“–
“liberals
have embraced censorship and even declared that “China was right”
on Internet controls”. China WAS right on Internet controls,
but right in a way that we cannot be. In other words, what’s right
for China is not necessarily right for us. First, they trust their
government. Always have. Second, their censorship is publicly

Censor has been their leading public intellectual for 2,000 years,
as he is today (magine Noam Chomsky as our censor). Everyone knows
him and can challenge his rulings–and his explanations are usually
interesting and educational. Fourth, their censorship works for
them. Youngsters find it constrictive, their parents find it ‘about
right,’ and their grandparents think its far too permissive. NONE of

Ongelofelijk
maar waar: YouTube zal in aanloop naar de presidentsverkiezingen in
de VS video’s verwijderen als deze informatie bevatten die is
verkregen via hacken (en waarschijnlijk zal YouTube dat ook doen in aanloop
naar verkiezingen in andere delen van de westerse wereld, zoals
Nederland)…….
Het is
alsof je tegen een klokkenluider zegt dat die haar/zijn informatie
niet mag gebruiken op een sociaal platform en al helemaal niet als daarmee een smerige corrupte neoliberale ploert van een politicus wordt besmeurd…. Zoals het inderdaad is geregeld met het meer dan belachelijke Klokkenluidershuis in ons land, als je daarnaar toe gaat als
klokkenluider, moet je als eerste een verklaring ondertekenen dat je de informatie waarmee je naar buiten wilt treden,
niet verder mag verspreiden, sterker nog: je mag er verder met niemand over spreken!! Geen wonder dan ook dat het Klokkenluidershuis is verworden tot een totaal mislukt project, een schande van jewelste!!

Johnstone, die het hieronder opgenomen artikel heeft geschreven,
merkt dan ook volkomen terecht op dat informatie die aantoont dat
iemand bijvoorbeeld corrupt is, juist moet worden geopenbaard, hoe je
ook aan die informatie bent gekomen, immers daar heeft het volk in een echte democratie recht
op!! (zij zegt het met andere woorden, maar daar komt het wel op neer)
YouTube zal dan ook vanaf nu dan alle informatie censureren die van
Wikileaks komt…… Immers ook
over Trump en Biden is het e.e.a. te vinden op Wikileaks…….
Een andere consequentie van deze regelrechte censuur (alleen ‘thuishorend’ in een dictatuur) is dat ook informatie uit een hack, maar die in een ander land wordt geplaatst, zal worden gecensureerd……..
Johnstone stelt verder dat men elke niet welgevallige informatie (althans door de overheid als niet geschikt geacht voor de ogen van het volk) zal worden afgedaan als ‘gehackt’ en dus op die basis onderhevig zal zijn aan censuur…….. Precies wat er in 2016 gebeurde, toen klokkenluider Seth Rich, lid van Clintons campagneteam (DNC), mails van Hillary Clinton doorspeelde naar Wikileaks, dit daar hij woenend was over de smerige manipulaties tegen destijds presidentskandidaat Bernie Sanders……. Het team van Clinton ging in de aanval door te stellen dat de Russen de servers van het DNC hadden gehackt en de gevonden informatie doorspeelden aan Wikileaks, daarmee wisten Clinton en haar team de aandacht af te leiden van het smerige spel dat zij speelde……
Grote techreuzen als Google en Facebook hebben volgens de New York Times overleg gevoerd met overheidsinstanties hoe de presidentsverkiezingen van a.s. november veilig te stellen, daarvoor hebben ze zelfs een coalitie gevormd…… ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! En dan te bedenken dat Facebook politici laat liegen op haar platform (dit met persoonlijke toestemming van Zuckerberg), alsof dat niet een heel smerige manipulatie is van deze verkiezingen!!! Meer dan
schandalig, hoe de grote techreuzen als Google en Facebook de valse tanden nog eens
laten zien…….
Facebook doet zoals gezegd het tegenovergestelde: alle
leugens die politici brengen in aanloop van de presidentsverkiezingen
in de VS worden getolereerd, terwijl Zuckerberg de opperploert van dit concern zo’n grote bek had over het manipuleren van deze verkiezingen in 2016 zogenaamd door Rusland (waarvoor nog
steeds geen flinter aan bewijs is gegeven…..)
Hetzelfde
geldt ook voor het geschreeuw over fake news (nepnieuws) op de
sociale media, terwijl deze schreeuwers, de reguliere media, hele archieven vol hebben geschreven met fake
news, bijvoorbeeld over de zojuist genoemde manipulatie van de
verkiezingen, of wat dacht je van de berichtgeving voorafgaand aan en
tijdens de illegale oorlogen die de VS is begonnen, bewijzen te
over!!
Hoe is het mogelijk dat men zo openlijk spreekt over censuur en de reguliere westerse media en poltici hierover zwijgen als het graf?? Blijkbaar staat men achter deze volgende stap richting een smerige fascistische dictatuur……..
Lees het
schrijven van Johnstone en zegt het voort, aan deze vorm van censuur
moet zo snel mogelijk een eind worden gemaakt, anders wordt het
internet een enge plek waar burgers kunnen worden bedonderd en dat
zonder enige ter zake doende kritiek, ofwel de waarheid over diverse smerige zaken zal worden geweerd zodat men het volk dom kan houden en men aan de top kan flikken wat men wil………
In
what it calls an effort to make itself “a more reliable source
for election-related news and information,” YouTube has
announced
that it will be removing “content that contains hacked
information, the disclosure of which may interfere with democratic
processes, such as elections and censuses.”
“For
example, videos that contain hacked information about a political
candidate shared with the intent to interfere in an election,”
adds the Google-owned video sharing platform.
This
by itself is an alarming assault on human communication and press
freedom. If there is authentic information out there about either of
the candidates who are up for the most powerful elected position on
the planet, the world is entitled to know about it, regardless of how
that information was acquired. Monopolistic tech oligarchs have no
business barring us from learning about and discussing that
information.
Immensely
powerful people should not be permitted to have secrets from the
public anyway. The amount of power one has should be directly inverse
to the amount of secrecy they are permitted to have. If you’re
anywhere near the presidency of the United States of America, the
secrecy you are entitled to should be zero.
If
a hacker is able to get ahold of accurate information about Donald
Trump or Joe Biden, that information is ours. We’re entitled to it.
Anyone who tries to obstruct our access to that information is
stealing from us. It’s absolutely ridiculous that we have a society
where people are permitted to both rule over us and keep secrets from
us as it is without government-aligned
tech plutocrats silencing our attempts to learn what those secrets
might be.
Moreover,
no YouTube moderator will be in any position to definitively say
whether most information that comes out is hacked. They’d only be
able to do what the mass media did with the 2016 WikiLeaks drops and
cite unproven assertions by opaque intelligence agencies who have a
proven track record of lying, assertions which turned
out to be far more dubious
than most Americans realize. Documents or video could be leaked about
a candidate and US intelligence agencies could just declare it a
“hack” and have any YouTube videos about it immediately
censored.
“[T]he
great majority of leaked information — the lifeblood of
investigative journalism — is anonymous. Often, like in the cases
of Edward Snowden, Chelsea Manning or Reality Winner, whistleblowers
face serious consequences if their names become attached to documents
exposing government or corporate malfeasance. But without a name to
go with a document, the difference between leaked data and hacked
data is impossible to define. Thus, powerful people and organizations
could claim data was hacked, rather than leaked, and simply block all
discussion of the matter on the platform.”
So
this in and of itself is an outrage. But the way things are playing
out it could wind up being a lot worse if damning information about a
candidate surfaces prior to the November election.
So
there’s already reason to be concerned that YouTube’s new attack on
press freedoms will spread to social media outlets like Twitter and
Facebook. Add in the fact that these platforms are openly
coordinating with each other and with the US government to silence
speech deemed “online meddling” and “election
interference” and it looks a lot more likely.
The
New York Timespublished
an article
on Wednesday titled “Google, Facebook and Others Form Tech
Coalition to Secure U.S. Election”, later
changed
to “Google, Facebook and Others Broaden Group to Secure U.S.
Election”.
“Facebook,
Google and other major tech companies said on Wednesday that they had
added new partners and met with government agencies in their efforts
to secure the November election,” NYT reports. “The group,
which is seeking to prevent the kind of online meddling and foreign
interference that sullied the 2016 presidential election, previously
consisted of some of the large social media firms, including Twitter
and Microsoft in addition to Facebook and Google. Among the new
participants is the Wikimedia Foundation.”
Monopolistic tech companies which collaborate in unison with government agencies to prevent unauthorized narratives from circulating on the internet are conducting state censorship. Own it.
So
if information emerges about a candidate in an “October
surprise” in a way that can be credibly spun as a “hack”
like the 2016 WikiLeaks drops were, it’s entirely likely that we will
see some interference in people’s ability to communicate about it on
not just one but multiple social media platforms. How much
communication interference we’d be subjected to is unknown at this
time, but it certainly looks like there are measures in place to at
least implement some under certain circumstances.
Imagine
if documents or video footage were posted online somewhere and we’d
get blocked from sharing its URLs on Facebook or suspended for
posting screenshots of it on Twitter. The way iron-fisted censorship
practices are already unfolding, it’s a possibility that looks not at
all remote.
Anyway,
something to be on alert for.

enorme ploert Zuckerberg had het vorig jaar goed gezien, toen hij
stelde dat Facebook in aanloop van de verkiezingen leugens van
politici zal tolereren, terwijl hij daarvoor maar niet op kon
houden te beloven dat Facebook elke bemoeienis met de verkiezingen op
haar platform zou verwijderen. Sterker nog: hij ging zelfs zover om toe te geven
dat Facebook door de Russen werd gebruikt om de verkiezingen van 2016 in de VS
te manipuleren, dit middels zielige advertenties die wat betreft de financiële waarde totaal
in het niet vielen bij de enorme bedragen waarmee bedrijven en de
superwelgestelden hun presidentskandidaat ‘pluggen…..’
Alsof
een aantal advertenties voor borsjt en wodka de VS burgers zover hebben kunnen krijgen dat ze op Trump stemden, terwijl ze dagelijks
een hele berg stront geserveerd kregen waarmee de één dan wal de
ander werd besmeurd als totaal onkundig voor het ambt van
president…… En zie wat daarvan is gekomen: een psychopathische
seksist en moordenaar met ronduit fascistische uitingen als president
van het machtigste land op aarde, de VS….
Deze
president die vooral regeert via Twitter was de klos toen men zijn
Twitterberichten op waarheid ging controleren en concludeerde dat er
geen barst van een paar van zijn berichten klopten en daarbij een waarschuwing plaatsten met links naar berichten uit de media…… Trump beweerde dat stemmen per post fruade in de hand werkt, terwijl daar nooit enig bewijs voor werd geleverd….. Nee, Trump
heeft geen zin om alsnog zijn achterlijke uitlatingen te verdedigen
als wel waarheidsgetrouw (wat hij niet kan, maar hij had minstens een
poging kunnen doen…) Trump kiest ‘de strategie’ die bekend staat
als: ‘de aanval is de beste verdediging…..’ Als hij wel had
geprobeerd zichzelf te verdedigen was hij uiteraard zwaar door de
mand gevallen, immers wat krom is kan je niet recht lullen, zelfs
Trump niet en dat nog niet met duizend liter ontsmettingsmiddel, al dan
niet geïnjecteerd……..
De
Republikeinen die al lang stellen dat de sociale media vooral door
‘links’ worden misbruikt om hun partij onderuit te
halen, wilden al langer nieuwe regels voor die media…. Weet niet
hoe het hier zit, maar in de VS worden platforms als Twitter en
Facebook niet gezien als publicisten, maar als een platform waar
anderen berichten en andere zaken publiceren. Aan dat laatste wil
Trump nu een eind maken, zodat deze platforms zich moeten gedragen
als de eerste beste nieuwszender of krant en verantwoordelijk zijn
voor wat er wordt gepubliceerd…. Wellicht denk je: wat is daarop
tegen? Welnu meer dan genoeg, zo zullen deze platforms worden
gedwongen om berichten van hun platform te halen als deze in strijd
zijn met de belangen van de Republikeinse Partij*, of als zij
schadelijk zijn voor (grote) bedrijven……
Natuurlijk
hebben platforms als Twitter niet de kans om berichten dusdanig te
brengen dat ze geen bewijs zijn voor een partij als die van de
Republikeinen voor het herroepen wat men heeft geschreven, immers
Twitter maakt die berichten niet….. Met andere woorden, gebruikers van platforms als Facebook en Twitter kunnen een grote golf censuur verwachten, daar de enige
mogelijkheid die overblijft om vervolging te voorkomen zal bestaan uit het eenvoudigweg verwijderen van berichten…….
Het is
nu al zo dat Twitter haar gebruikers waarschuwt voor berichten die
aangeven waar het aan ontbreekt in de politiek, dan wel berichten
waar politici aan de paal worden genageld voor onbeschofte
voorstellen en bijvoorbeeld voor het zaaien van haat….. Zag
gisteren op Twitter een waarschuwing voor een
account van ‘Lieve Linkse’: ‘Caution:
This profile may include potentially sensitive content. You’re
seeing this warning because they Tweet potentially sensitive images
or language. Do you still want to view it?’
Ongelofelijk, zeker als je ziet wat Lieve
Linkse @LieveLinkse op Twitter zet, wat mij betreft redelijk
gematigde kritiek, maar wel volkomen terechte kritiek!!
Je
kan er de klok op gelijkzetten dat men ook in andere westerse landen
naar mogelijkheden zal gaan zoeken, om niet welgevallige informatie
in het geheel te blokkeren op platforms als Facebook en Twitter,
terwijl men regelrechte geschiedvervalsing als een normaal gegeven ziet,
als het maar in het voordeel is van de gevestigde neoliberale
orde….. Over geschiedvervalsing gesproken: hoe is het mogelijk dat Facebook op verzoek berichten over mensen verwijdert, mensen die of e.e.a op hun kerfstok hebben, dan wel politici of anderen die ‘met pensioen zijn’, te gek voor woorden!!
Overigens hebben zowel Twitter als Facebook accounts op hun platform gesloten vanwege het brengen van zogenaamd nepnieuws, ofwel nieuws dat ingaat tegen wat de reguliere (massa-) media brengen…… Dit terwijl juist deze media een enorme berg nepnieuws en zonder meer leugens hebben mogen publiceren op deze platforms, neem de leugens in aanloop van- en tijdens de illegale oorlogen die de VS alleen deze eeuw al is begonnen….
Het
volgende bericht komt van Zero Hedge, dat overigens in rap tempo
verandert in een rechts medium, waar men zelfs ronduit fascistische
en racistische kritiek toestaat, zoals onder het bericht over de
rellen in Minneapolis n.a.v. van de zoveelste politiemoord op

To Sign Social Media Executive Order On Thursday After ‘Fact-Check’,
Political Bias Exposed

Following up on earlier threats, a White House spokesperson has
confirmed that President Trump will sign an executive order on Social
Media tomorrow.
Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany
made the remark to reporters aboard Air Force One, traveling with
Trump to Washington from Florida.
There are no details of
what the order will contain,
however, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) said today that he is working with
Republican members of the House Judiciary Committee to craft
legislation that would strip social media giants of their Section 230
legal immunity if they fact check content on their platforms, according
to a copy of his podcast which Breitbart News exclusively obtained.

A lot of people don’t
see that Facebook and Twitter … you see Twitter disadvantaging the
president, they enjoy liability protections that are not enjoyed by
your local newspaper or your local TV station, or Fox News, or CNN,

as digital platforms because they’re not creating content for which
they should be liable. They’re
not making decisions about content, they’re simply saying come one,
come all with your content. And as a consequence of that, they’re
getting a bunch of protections.

that the social media companies have become increasingly biased
against conservatives, Gaetz questioned whether social media
companies deserve to keep their Section 230 immunity.
All of which raises a serious
question about the future of these social media giants under a more
“media-esque” regulatory framework and points to an obvious
line of attack in any executive order that President Trump could be
considering.

bias with his opposition to mail-in ballots.

Shortly after Twitter announced it
would start “fact-checking” President Trump’s tweets, yet
more evidence has been exposed of the blatant
anti-Trump bias at the most senior levels of the social media giant.
In the past we have seen
Project Veritas expose the ‘fact’ behind the so-called
‘conspiracy theory’ of shadow-banning
for conservative voices on Twitter.
A former Twitter software
engineer who explains how/why Twitter “shadow bans”
certain users:

to shadow ban so you have ultimate control. The idea of a shadow ban
is that you ban someone but they don’t know they’ve been banned,
because they keep posting but no one sees their content.”
“So they just think
that no one is engaging with their content, when in reality, no one

Meanwhile, Olinda
Hassan, a Policy Manager for Twitter’s Trust and Safety team explains on
December 15th, 2017 at a Twitter holiday party that the development
of a system of “down ranking” “shitty people” is in the

And now, as
Jonathan Turley details below, the
latest controversy concerns the person who has said that he is in
charge of “developing and enforcing Twitter’s rules,” Twitter’s
“Head of Site Integrity” Yoel Roth.
Critics have highlighted fairly extreme postings from Roth
calling Trump and his supporters Nazis. I do not agree that the
problem is Roth’s personal views or postings. The problem is his
role and the rules at Twitter.
Roth has attacked Bernie
Sanders supporters and proclaimed how he is working against Trump.
He compared senior Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway to Nazi
propagandist Joseph Goebbels. He has referred to
Trump and his team as “ACTUAL NAZIS” and called Senate
Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., a “personality-free bag of
farts.” As
Fox noted, “last August, Twitter suspended McConnell’s
Twitter account, prompting the GOP to threaten to
cut off advertising on the site until Twitter relented.”
The attacks are numerous,
raw, and offensive. However,
conservatives calling for him to be fired or his tweets censored are
reaching the wrong conclusion.
The problem is not Roth but
his role. He has a right to express himself.
I have no problem with Twitter hiring people with such political
views and I believe it is a good thing for people to express
themselves on social media. Indeed, we have discussed the free
speech concerns as private and public employers punish workers for
their statements or actions in their private lives. We have
addressed an array of such incidents, including social
media controversies involving academics. In some cases, racially
charged comments have been treated
as free speech while in others they have resulted in
discipline or termination. It is that lack of a consistent standard
that has magnified free speech concerns. We have previously
discussed the issue of when it is appropriate to punishment
people for conduct outside of the work place. We have followed cases
where people have been fired after boorish or insulting conduct once
their names and employers are made known.

Roth’s comments highlight
how bias is always a concern for those who take it upon themselves to
decide who can speak or who must be “corrected” in communications
with others. Twitter
is notorious for a lack of consistency and coherence in the
enforcement of its rules. However, regardless of such
enforcement, there remains a core free speech issue in the regulation
of speech. I recently
criticized the calls of Democratic leaders like House Intelligence
Committee Chairman Adam Schiff for greater censorship of the
Internet and social media. Such calls have been growing for years but
leaders like Schiff are citing the pandemic as a basis for speech
monitoring and censorship. Roth
is merely the personification of the problem of such speech
regulation. Again, the real problem is his role and Twitter’s
rules.
As Summit
News’ Paul Joseph Watson notes, Roth has been head of site
integrity at Twitter since July 2018 and is responsible for “election
security” and “misinformation,”meaning he
almost certainly played a key role in the decision to ‘fact-check’
Trump’s tweets.
In the meantime, We await Twitter
‘fact-checking’ false claims about ‘Russian collusion’ or any
other of the erroneous issues pushed by the blue check mark brigade
that have proven to be spectacularly wrong.

Waar
haalt de grofgraaitop van Twitter het gore lef vandaan om ten tijde
van een ernstige gezondheidscrisis accounts van een overheid te
verwijderen, terwijl het land op slot is vanwege het
Coronavirus….?? Je kan deze stap van Twitter dan ook niet anders beoordelen dan als smerige censuur, thuishorend in een dictatuur!!

Why
is Twitter undermining Venezuela’s COVID-19 response?
In
the past week, Twitter has suspended the accounts of over 40
Venezuelan institutions, journalists and politicians, including the
Health Ministry and the Vice President (pictured above). Can you
imagine the uproar if Twitter had blocked the CDC or Vice President
Pence? Let’s
tell Twitter that it’s not okay to silence the Venezuelan
government when it is trying to respond to the coronavirus*.
Why
is Twitter silencing the voices of those in charge of Venezuela’s
COVID-19 response? On March 16, the same day the Venezuelan
government issued a nationwide shelter-at-home order to stem the
coronavirus infection rate, Twitter began systematically restricting
the accounts of Venezuelan ministries, politicians, journalists, and
institutions. At least 44 accounts were suspended and Twitter is
offering no answers.
The
suspended accounts include Vice President Delcy Rodriguez’s
personal @DrodriguezVen
and institutional @ViceVenezuela
accounts, as well as the Health Ministry, the Housing Ministry, the
Education Ministry and the Science Ministry. Rodriguez is leading the
government’s comprehensive response to the coronavirus; the four
ministries are all key to guaranteeing its success. The plan includes
an online platform to track the health of Venezuelans (used by 11
million people so far), house-to-house visits of those with symptoms,
free tests for those who potentially have the virus and free
healthcare for those who test positive.
The
timing of this slew of Twitter account restrictions is odd; not only
does it coincide with a global pandemic, it also coincides with what
the Trump administration has called “maximum
pressure March”,
a plan to intensify the sanctions and regime change efforts on
Venezuela. Yet this isn’t the first time that Twitter has gone
after the Venezuelan government: on previous occasions, it suspended
the accounts of the Women’s Ministry, the Oil Ministry, the armed
forces, the office of the president, Central Bank, the state radio
station (as well as 13 regional radio stations) and several media
outlets.
The
onslaught of Twitter suspensions isn’t limited to government
agencies and politicians; private business and independent
journalists have also been affected. This includes Farmatodo (a
pharmacy chain) and influencers like Orlenys Ortiz (@OrlenysOV),
who has over 67,000 followers, has played a key role in urging people
to stay home and has documented how organized communities are
reacting to the virus.

Boonman doet dan ook precies wat Rutte graag wil: vertellen dat Rutte eigenlijk niets moet hebben van de EU….. Oh vandaar dat Nederland al jaren meer bijdraagt aan de EU dan het terugkrijgt en vandaar dat het referendum over toetreding van Oekraïne tot de EU werd geannuleerd…… Voorts kan ik niet zeggen dat Rutte tegen machtsuitbreiding van de EU is, meermaals heeft ook hij in het verleden bepleit dat de EU meer macht moet krijgen en die gaat zoals je begrijpt, altijd ten koste van de inspraak die kleine landen als Nederland hebben……
Rutte probeert zich nu voor te doen als een alternatief voor de Britten, die eigenlijk altijd EU kritisch zijn geweest, echter met één groot verschil, Rutte doet het voorkomen uiterst kritisch te zijn als het om de EU gaat, maar gaat uiteindelijk altijd akkoord, al hebben de media daar dan geen belangstelling meer voor……
Rutte houdt de hand op de knip? Nogmaals: waarom betalen we dan al jaren meer aan de EU dan we terugkrijgen??

In een
hoorzitting van de Judiciary Subcommittee werd dr. Robert Epstein
gevraagd naar manipulatie van de verkiezingen door Google, Facebook en
Twitter. Epstein heeft deze zaak 6
jaar lang bestudeerd, wellicht de reden voor de voorzitter van het comité Epstein te vragen of
hij een republikein of conservatief is (dit om partijdigheid uit te
sluiten). Epstein antwoordde een Democraat te zijn en stelde later zelfs een
grote aanhanger van Hillary Clinton te zijn geweest, die hij in 2016 openlijk
steunde.
Google
heeft tijdens de verkiezingen van 2016 door manipulatie van
zoekgegevens ervoor gezorgd dat minstens 2,6 miljoen stemmen naar
Clinton gingen….. Alphabet, sinds 2015 de moedermaatschappij van
Google, genereerde die 2,6 miljoen extra stemmen, maar let wel: dat
is de laagste schatting, de hoogste schatting is 10,4 miljoen
stemmen……Google, Facebook en Twitter kunnen door manipulatie maar
liefst 15 miljoen extra stemmen genereren voor hun kandidaat van
keuze…..
Door de
‘go vote reminder’ (‘ga stemmen’) die Facebook bracht op de dag van de
verkiezingen in 2016, konden 450.000 extra stemmen worden gegenereerd
voor de Democraten, dit kon Facebook doen zonder dat iemand daar erg
in had (anders dan de Democraten uiteraard, Ap.)…..
Daarover
gesproken: volgens Epstein kunnen deze manipulaties op een manier worden gedaan,
zonder dat het ook maar een spoor nalaat en bovendien kost dit geen
cent……..
Moet je
nagaan: hebben we een paar jaar lang gezeur gehoord over ‘Russiagate’
waarvoor geen nanometer aan bewijs is gegeven, of je moet de 100.000
dollar aan Russische advertenties ‘voor borsjt en wodka’ zien als manipulatie
van de presidentsverkiezingen…… Tegelijkertijd hebben in de VS het grote bedrijfsleven, de
financiële sector, de wapenindustrie (in de breedste zin van het
woord) en de oliemaatschappijen vele miljarden uitgeven aan de
presidentsverkiezingen, daarmee vergeleken is de 100.000 dollar aan
‘Russische advertenties’ een druppel op de spreekwoordelijke gloeiende plaat…….
Voorts
moet niet vergeten worden dat juist Rusland groot belang had bij het
aan de macht komen van Sanders, daar hij een fel tegenstander was van
de VS buitenlandpolitiek (lees: grootschalige terreur) en betere
banden wenste met Rusland……..
Het is
dan ook juist het genoemde grote bedrijfsleven (alle sectoren, dus
ook bedrijven als Google en Facebook) dat de verkiezingen manipuleert
in de VS, al moet nogmaals opgemerkt worden dat het internetplatforms
als Google, Facebook en Twitter geen cent kost om de verkiezingen
ongemerkt sterk te beïnvloeden, zoals blijkbaar in 2016 ten gunste
van Clinton gebeurde…… Overigens moet niet vergeten worden dat ook miljonairs en miljardairs bepaalde kandidaten steunen (al zijn deze figuren ook vaak de eigenaren van de grote bedrijven die geld steken in de presidentsverkiezingen, neem Bezos, de opperschoft van Amazon)….
Wellicht
juist daarom dat topgraaier Zuckerberg later toegaf dat Rusland met
het belachelijk kleine bedrag, uitgegeven aan advertenties, de
verkiezingen had gemanipuleerd, de leugenaar stelde zelfs dat men
voor deze conclusie een groot onderzoek had uitgevoerd….. Tja, door dit
toe te geven, kon Zuckerberg de echte manipulatie van de verkiezingen
door Facebook verzwijgen en zelfs onder het tapijt schuiven…..
Je snapt
waarschijnlijk wel dat het manipuleren van de presidentsverkiezingen een zwaar
misdrijf is, met het openlijke manipuleren van die verkiezingen kan je zelfs stellen
dat de VS al lang geen democratie meer is……. (dit nog buiten het continu veranderen van regels en de openlijke pogingen om velen te verhinderen te stemmen….) De poging om Rusland e.e.a. in de schoenen te schuiven is een ongelofelijke smerige streek, die de aandacht van het publiek moet afleiden van waar het echt om gaat: de manipulatie ven de verkiezingen in de VS zelf………

Maps werd bedrogen door de Berlijnse kunstenaar Simon Wreckert, die
met een wagentje gevuld met 99 smartphones door straten van Berlijn
liep, waardoor Google Maps aangaf dat die straten vast waren gelopen met auto’s, terwijl hij midden over
de weg liep en er geen auto was te zien (althans rijdend)…..
Wreckert heeft e.e.a. gedaan om onder andere de mensheid te tonen hoeveel ruimte auto’s innemen in ons dagelijkse leven…. Waarbij niet moet worden vergeten dat in Nederland ook nog eens 18.000 mensen jaren eerder overlijden na een akelige ziekte, alleen door langdurige inademing van auto-uitstoot, daarnaast loopt jaarlijks een groot aantal kinderen long- en/of luchtwegklachten op door diezelfde uitstoot…….
Voorts laat Wreckert zien dat we niet zomaar alle data moeten geloven, daar deze gemanipuleerd kunnen worden en daadwerkelijk worden gemanipuleerd, zo laat Google onwelgevallige informatie pas heel ver in de resultaten zien na een zoekopdracht, of toont deze informatie helemaal niet, anders gezegd: Google doet als Facebook zelfs aan censuur! (een populair instrument in dictatoriaal geregeerde landen…..)……

look like they were gridlocked on Google Maps.
Artist Simon Wreckert walked the
streets of Berlin tugging a red wagon behind him. Wherever he went,
Google Maps showed a congested traffic jam. People using Google Maps
would see a thick red line indicating congestion on the road, even
when there was no traffic at all. Each and every one of those 99
phones had Google Maps open, giving the virtual illusion that the
roads were jam packed.
“By transporting the smartphones
in the street I’m able to generate virtual traffic which will
navigate cars on another route,” Wreckert told Motherboard in a
Twitter DM. “Ironically that can generate a real traffic jam
somewhere else in the city.”

“Isn’t it crazy [how] much
space is used by a car in a city compared to the usage?” he said.
“The hack shows us what is possible with this technology and who we
rely on.”
To pull off the trick, Wreckert
rented 99 smartphones, all of them Android devices, and purchased 99
sims cards for them online. He said he’d spend an hour or two on
each spot, walking back and forth on the street to generate a traffic
jam. “My subjective feeling was that even this short time was
already enough to change the traffic in the street,” he said.
“‘The map is not the territory
… but another version of reality,’’ Wreckert said, quoting
semanticist Alfred Korzybski, one of William S. Burroughs’ biggest
influences. “Data is always translated to what they might be
presented. The images, lists, graphs, and maps that represent those
data are all interpretations, and there is no such thing as neutral
data. Data is always collected for a specific purpose, by a
combination of people, technology, money, commerce, and government.”

The maps are their own territory,
their own objective reality, not just a reflection of the real world
but a branch of it. Wreckert was showing us all how data and maps can
affect the world they’re meant to chart. “Maps have the potential
as an instrument of power,” he said.
“They substitute political
and military power in a way that represents the state borders between
territories and they can repeat, legitimate, and construct the
differences of classes and social self-understandings.”
Data is not objective and the maps
themselves have biases. Showing how the data can be hacked and
manipulated is like pointing out the Emperor has no clothes.
“In this process it is pointing
out the fact that we are highly focused on the data and tent to see
them as objective, unambiguous, and interpretation free,” Wreckert
said. “In doing so, a blindness arises against the processes that
data generates and the assumption that numbers speak for themselves.
Not only the collection of data provides an interpretative scope, but
also computing processes allows further interpretations.”
“Thus data are viewed as the
world itself, forgetting that the numbers are only representing a
model of the world,” he said.
