Gisteren was het 49 jaar geleden* dat
Jimi Hendrix dood werd gevonden en zoals met meerdere popartiesten
destijds, zoals Jim Morrison en John Lennon, kwam het de VS overheid wel erg goed uit dat deze mensen ‘de dood vonden’, daar zij zware kritiek hadden
op de oorlog in Vietnam…. Tja dat is niet in het belang van het militair-industrieel complex…..
Begin 60er jaren startte de CIA het programma ‘MH Chaos’, doel waren anti-oorlogsdemonstranten, ondergrondse bladen en linkse journalisten, waar men deze groepen infiltreerde o.a. om zo onderlinge tweedracht te zaaien, zodat deze groepen zich niet verenigden en zo een fractie konden vormen waar men echt rekening mee diende te houden…. Jimi Hendrix was een van de doelen van de CIA, daar hij zich politiek roerde (o.a. de discriminatie van gekleurden in de VS) en tegen de oorlog in Vietnam tekeerging…..
Hendrix was bezig de grootste rockster in de VS te worden en had o.a. contacten met de Black Panthers, men wilde voorkomen dat hij geld zou steken in dat soort groepen en organisaties, die een groot gebrek aan geld hadden…..
De CIA en de maffia werkten samen in MH Chaos, waar de maffia de artiest moest controleren en als dat niet lukte desnoods vermoorden. Voor het e.e.a. was iemand nodig die de artiest vertrouwde en dat was in het geval van Hendrix Michael Jeffery, zijn manager (en die van The Animals), Jeffery had tevens banden met de maffia en had carrière gemaakt in het Britse leger en werkte daarna voor de inlichtingendienst (van dat leger) MI6…..
Deze Jeffery liet Hendrix optreden op ver van elkaar gelegen oorden, bijvoorbeeld in het noorden van Canada en een dag later een paar duizend kilometer verderop, zodat Hendrix totaal uitgeput was en onder controle kon worden gehouden……. Jeffery stal zelfs geld van Hendrix en dat was een grote fout, daar Hendrix e.e.a. doorhad en Jeffery zelfs aanklaagde…. De dag voordat het proces zou beginnen overleed Hendrix (‘geheel toevallig’)…. Jeffery had zelfs een verzekering op het leven van Hendrix afgesloten, waarmee hij 2 miljoen pond kon opstrijken na diens dood….
Jimi zou zijn gestikt in zijn braaksel echter daar was niets van waar, in het ziekenhuis haalde men een ongelofelijke hoeveelheid rode wijn uit zijn maag en longen, terwijl hij een minimale hoeveelheid alcohol in zijn bloed had, te weten 20 milligram…. E.e.a. betekent dat hij vast moet zijn gehouden waarna men hem verdronk in de rode wijn……
Eric Burdon (van The Animals) stelde dat Hendrix zich gesuïcideerd had, echter toen men hem vond had hij nog 40 Vesparax in zijn zak, hij was een notoir slecht slaper en nam regelmatig grote dosis van dit slaapmiddel. Anders gezegd als hij zich werkelijk het leven wilde benemen, waarom dan niet meer Vesparax naar achter gewerkt???
De autopsie volgde het patroon dat al werd gevolgd door MH Chaos, ofwel men kwam met een doodsoorzaak die niet overeenstemde met de werkelijkheid, namelijk dat Jimi Hendrix zou zijn gestikt in zijn braaksel, terwijl nader onderzoek uitwees dat hij was verdronken…… Verder onderdeel van MH Chaos was het besmeuren van de naam van de overleden persoon, de grote kranten uit die tijd stelden dat Jimi overleed aan een overdosis heroïne, terwijl bekend was dat hij dit middel niet gebruikte…..
Na de dood van Hendrix kregen mensen die met hem omgingen plotseling vreemde ongelukken, of suïcideerden zich zogenaamd, zoals de vriendin van Jimi, ook Jeffery kwam een paar jaar later om bij een vreemd vliegtuigongeluk….. (‘de sporen’ worden in dit soort operaties altijd zoveel mogelijk gewist…)
Een andere vriendin van Jimi die in 1995 de waarheid wilde vertellen over de dood van Jimi en de vreemde omstandigheden waaronder dit gebeurde, kwam een paar uur voor de uitzending om het leven door koolmonoxide vergiftiging (alweer: ‘geheel toevallig…..’ )

Like
the early death of Jim Morrison, Hendrix died under mysterious
circumstances.
Like
Morrison, the political side of Hendrix was obscured by the news
media.
Morrison
was son of rear admiral George Stephen Morrison who commanded the US
Naval force during the Gulf of Tokin.
Then
of course there was John Lennon, the Beatle who wrote anthems to
peace and loudly opposed the Vietnam War. He was shot down in cold
blood by a “lone but” in a narrative that still makes no sense
nearly 40 years later.
* Dom genoeg was ik altijd in de veronderstelling dat Jimi overleed op 19 september 1970, daar men eerder stelde dat hij werd doodverklaard op die dag, echter dit moet toch echt 18 september zijn. Update 19 september 2020.
John
McEvoy van The Canary schreef het verslag van een interview met
Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz, een historicus die is gespecialiseerd in het
tweede amendement van de grondwet in de VS. Het interview o.a. naar
aanleiding van de laatste meervoudige moord door een neonazi in El Paso(deze neonazi werd gepord door het 666 beest Trump, die latino’s uitmaakte voor moordenaars, verkrachters, drugsdealers en dieven).
Dunbar-Ortiz
betoogt in het interview dat witte overheersing is ingebakken in de
grondwet van de VS. Veelal wordt het tweede amendement gezien als
bescherming van burgers tegen een autoritaire overheid, die schijt
heeft aan de rechten van de burgers. Ter verdediging tegen zo’n
overheid zou het volk recht hebben op wapenbezit (en in een aantal
staten mogen deze zelfs openlijk worden gedragen)……
Dunbar-Ortiz
betoogt dat het tweede amendement veel meer was bedoeld voor witte
milities die zich moesten kunnen verdedigen tegen de oorspronkelijke
volkeren van de VS >> lees: het verjagen van de oorspronkelijke
volkeren, gepaard gaande met het uitroeien van hele
stammen van die oorspronkelijke volkeren in de VS…… Anders gezegd: de witte immigranten voerden een genocide uit op de oorspronkelijke bevolking, samen met de genocide in Latijns-Amerika, de grootste genocide ooit…….. Deze genocide ging verder gepaard met martelingen, verkrachtingen en de gruwelijkste vormen van moord…….
Deze
milities werden later ook ingezet om weggelopen slaven op te pakken
of opstanden onder slaven uiterst gewelddadig te onderdrukken…..
Het zal je niet verbazen dat deze milities later opgingen in de Ku
Klux Klan (KKK)………
Dunbar-Ortiz zegt niet te geloven dat Hollywood films en tv series bijdragen aan geweld, het zal je niet verbazen dat ik het daar volkomen mee oneens ben. Dagelijks wordt men in de VS gehersenspoeld met leugens als zouden ‘Amerikanen’ (VS burgers) de goede partij zijn en alles wat van buiten de VS komt of een andere religie dan het christendom aanhangt, is fout….. Opvallend ook dat de VS bevolking veelal als slachtoffer van buitenlandse agressie wordt neergezet, terwijl de praktijk het volkomen tegenovergestelde laat zien……* Tevens wordt de geschiedenis van de VS vervalst middels die films en series……. (hetzelfde gebeurt overigens in de rest van wat men het westen noemt, voorbeelden te over, ook op de Nederlandse tv…..)

mass shootings, leading historian says ‘white supremacy is baked
into the US constitution’
The Second
Amendment of
the US Constitution becomes the focus of intense and
polarised debate in
the wake of each mass shooting. It is a debate pierced by
economic interest groups and fierce emotional impulses; yet history
rarely enters the conversation at the exact moment that it’s most
needed.
After
the recent white
supremacist mass
shooting in El
Paso (the eighth
worst in
recent US history), The
Canary spoke
with leading historian on the Second Amendment, Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz.
She is the author of Loaded:
A Disarming History of the Second Amendment,
which illustrates how the white supremacy of the country’s settler
colonialists lives on in the country – not least through gun
legislation.
After
each mass shooting in the US, we hear a range of arguments across the
media calling for greater gun control. What are the biggest
misunderstandings and lies told about the Second Amendment, and how
should we really understand it?
Any
conversation about dealing with gun violence in the United States has
to begin with the second amendment and its true function from its
establishment, throughout the 19th-century brutal conquest of the
continent, and its ideological function propping up white nationalism
today.
The
US constitution is unique among nations in mandating a general
individual right to bear arms… A problem with discussing the US
constitutional provision is the regard US people have for the
constitution itself, as a kind of god-given covenant, whereas other
nations’ constitutions are easily amended or replaced entirely and
do not carry a sacredness given to the US constitution, with the
authors, ‘founding fathers,’ near demigods.
Adding
the right to bear arms to the constitution as one of the initial ten
amendments was not the creation of a new right, rather a validation
of an already existing practice of Anglo settlers forming their own
militias to burn and loot Indigenous towns, burning their fields,
killing and raping, torturing, and seizing of the already
Indigenous-developed farms and fisheries of the Atlantic Coast,
colony by colony, to push Native peoples to the peripheries. Those
militias arrived with the first invaders, led by the mercenary John
Smith at Jamestown and mercenary John Mason in the Massachusetts
colony. When racial slavery—the slave codes–became established by
the late 1600s, these militias became slave patrols. The second
amendment contains colonial violence in a nutshell, and neither
liberals or conservatives want to acknowledge that reality.
Many
people have observed that the El Paso shooter’s ‘manifesto’
echoes how Donald Trump speaks about
immigrants, and accused Trump of ‘stochastic
terrorism‘.
Is the white supremacist rhetoric coming out of the White House a
departure from normal US politics, or does Trump reflect the soul of
the US in ways that people would rather not confront?
The
United States was founded as a white republic and white supremacy is
baked into the constitution and institutions that exist today. For
instance, the slave patrols, citizens’ militias, that were tasked
with controlling slave populations in the slave states, continued to
function during the Civil War that ended in outlawing slavery. But
these slave patrollers simply put on hoods and robes and continued to
play the same role in terrorizing and controlling the freed Black
population. Although illegal during the US military occupation of the
South, they were so many and so widespread that they could not be
stopped. When the Army pulled out, they took off their hoods and
robes and became the local sheriffs controlling the Black population
under Jim Crow. With the Black diaspora escaping the South to
northern and later west-coast cities, southern whites also migrated,
forming all-white police forces in cities. In 1950, the US was a
locked-down white male republic, African-Americans living segregated,
Native peoples on tiny portions of their original territories,
Mexicans as indentured agribusiness workers, women with few rights,
especially if they were married…
With
the humiliating loss of the US war in Vietnam in the mid-1970s, and
with nearly 700,000 combat veterans back in civil society, armed
white nationalist groups multiplied. Ronald Reagan’s presidency was
openly, although coded, white nationalist, with the US covert
counterinsurgencies in Afghanistan and Central America employing many
of the disgruntled, out-of-work vets as mercenaries and domestic
terrorist groups appearing, particularly in eastern Washington and
Oregon, Montana, Colorado, and in the 1990s spreading to the entire
continent. War fever, with the invasions of Panama, the Gulf war, and
the post-9/11 wars produced more armed white nationalists.
The
election of a liberal Black Democrat to the presidency in 2008 was a
blow to increasingly normalized white nationalism, with Muslims as a
new Brown enemy. Immediately, the Tea Party movement began, and
Donald Trump – reality TV star and real-estate developer – began
his campaign to prove that Obama was not US-born, a great boon to
white nationalists who then carried him to the presidency.
Trump
abandoned the ‘dog whistle’ white supremacy that the Republican
Party embraced with its ‘Southern strategy’ under Richard Nixon,
and has gotten by with outspoken white supremacy with no damage to
his solid 40% base. Clearly, the El Paso mall shooter was empowered
to act based on Trump’s characterization of Central American
refugees as invaders.
How
is the relationship between white supremacy and gun culture
reinforced through popular culture – films, action figures and toy
guns, the stories Americans tell about their country – in the US?
I
don’t believe that popular culture, in terms of films, video
gaming, toys, etc. have that much of an effect in reinforcing white
supremacy and gun culture. I do think the reality, not so much the
representation, of US militarism and endless wars against
non-European peoples, which are a continuation of the centuries of
militarism and warfare in seizing the continent, with Native American
peoples and Mexicans being the enemy, form a permanent culture of
violence.
With
the second amendment permission for unlimited gun ownership, that
violence goes beyond words and fist fights. The NRA [National Rifle
Association] and Republican Party talking points about gun violence
attempt to construe popular culture as the cause, particularly
‘Hollywood’ and video gaming, but dozens of studies and simple
observation nullify the argument. The US origin and historical
narratives glorify what are actually acts of genocide in the
establishment of the original colonies and the expansion to the
Pacific.
Rather
than having a reckoning with that past at the end of the Vietnam War
and honoring the anti-war movement and the disobedient soldiers, the
ruling class turned the US into a victim, enabling and encouraging
the myth of US soldiers missing in action in Vietnam. During the
1980s, the continued US wars had to operate clandestinely, covertly,
because the majority of the population was anti-war. But by 1989, the
Marines could invade and occupy Panama and change the regime there
without notable protests; two years later, the US could amass a half
million troops to invade and occupy Iraq. The shadow wars of white
nationalist militias grew domestically, nourished by war fever and
violence. It only got worse after 9/11.
Yes,
John Wayne killing Mexicans and Indians and Rambo killing Asians have
been wildly popular, but they never come near the real thing in
instilling violence and gun fetishism.
Congressman
Steve Cohen tweeted after
the El Paso shooting: “You want to shoot an assault weapon? Go to
Afghanistan or Iraq.Enlist!” (He later deleted the tweet.) How was
the US military apparatus forged through the white supremacist
genocide of Native Americans, and how does US foreign intervention
reify gun culture at home today?
The
US military was forged in the hundred years war to take the
continent. The first 70 years, from founding to the Civil War, the
goal was to ethnically cleanse all the territory east of the
Mississippi, generating dozens of wars of aggression and expulsion
against the southern Indigenous nations, marked by three declared
wars against the Seminole nation in Florida, where they gave refuge
to enslaved Africans who escaped. With the Indigenous survivors
forcibly relocated to Indian Territory (Oklahoma), the US invaded and
occupied Mexico, taking the northern half, thereby US territory
reached its Pacific Coast limit…
The
same officers who led those two decades of genocidal war headed the
troops that were sent to conquer Spanish-held territories in the
Pacific and Caribbean. Genocidal tendency is baked into the US armed
forces, particularly the Army and Marines.
US
foreign interventions into non-European countries throughout the 20th
century and continuing in the 21st are essentially ‘Indian wars,’
wars of erasure and chaos, dismantling local and national
institutions, creating dependency, particularly food.
Active
duty lifers and veterans of these foreign interventions are
prominently represented among white nationalists and gun hoarders.
There is is close correlation between multiple gun ownership and
military service.
An
overwhelming response to the latest shootings is to demand greater
‘protection’ from the US state (more funding for an increasingly
militarised security and surveillance state).
But if US gun legislation is inseparable from a legacy of violent
state-sanctioned terror, how can this be a satisfactory response, and
how can US society resolve its unhealthy relationship with guns?
Yes,
the solution is said to be ‘more good guys with guns,’ more
militarized police forces, further developing fortress America.
However, the mass shootings are used opportunistically for that
agenda. Tragic as mass shootings are, the deaths incurred make up
only 1% of US gun deaths each year, while 3/4 of gun deaths are
suicides. The easy availability of guns makes what might otherwise be
an attempted suicide a certain death. Likewise, deaths that result
from domestic violence and road rage are soaring with guns in cars
and homes.
One
place to begin resolving the problem is for leaders and professionals
of good will to acknowledge that mental illness is not the cause of
gun violence; rather ‘the need’ to possess firearms, many of
them, is itself a form of mental illness, paranoia. The late
historian Richard Hofstadter wrote of ‘the paranoid style in
American politics’ (1964).
He
had his finger on the pulse of the rising white paranoiac response to
the Black freedom movement. The majority of the white younger
generation embraced the anti-racist struggle, but a significant
minority of white men in particular panicked and reproduced their
paranoia in the following generations, fused with virulent
anti-communism and homophobia, often couched in Christian evangelism,
coming to dominate national politics.
In
fact, this white minority owns the US origin story and carries it
forward. As long as the measure of civic patriotism is based on the
founding narrative and militaristic fetishism, guns will play a
central role in US society, and no laws will be enacted to any
effect.
Cleansing
history
A key facet of ethnic
cleansing is to cleanse the historical record of the act itself. An
honest account of the white supremacy that runs throughout US
history, then, could offer a real solution to the country’s broken
relationship with guns.
For all those who find
‘thoughts’ and ‘prayers’ an insufficient solution to US mass
shootings, Dunbar-Ortiz’s work is essential reading.

Alsof er nooit anti-Russische en om preciezer te zijn, anti-Putin propaganda te horen is op Radio1, zo ging hare kwaadaardigheid en lobbyist van het militair-industrieel complex Salemon op haar typische met (hysterisch) overslaande stem, tekeer over Putin, alsof hij en niet de VS vanaf het begin van deze eeuw verantwoordelijk is voor de meer dan 2,5 miljoen dodelijke slachtoffers (moorden) gemaakt in/met:
illegale oorlogen
het organiseren en regisseren van opstanden in landen waar de VS niets te zoeken had en heeft, met als doel de zittende macht ten val te brengen en als dat niet lukt:
het plegen van staatsgrepen met hulp van omgekochte hooggeplaatste militairen, als ook dat niet slaagt start de VS een haatcampagne tegen zo’n land, die ‘niet zelden’ uitmondt in de al genoemde illegale oorlog…… Veelal gaat dit gepaard met:
economische oorlogen tegen landen die de VS niet welgevallig zijn, met door de VS ingevoerde illegale sancties, zoals die tegen Iran en Venezuela, waardoor in het laatste land al meer dan 40.000 mensen omkwamen, ofwel: ook deze mensen zijn door de VS vermoord….. Deze economische oorlogsvoering op basis van leugens, of een false flag operatie* is een specialiteit van de VS en haar misdadige geheime diensten….
het vermoorden van verdachten (een zware oorlogsmisdaad) met drones, waarbij meer dan 90% van de slachtoffers niet eens werd verdacht, dus veelal vrouwen en kinderen (wat zonder meer een misdaad tegen de menselijkheid is)……
geheime militaire acties in het buitenland, onder regie van de CIA, waarbij altijd een (fiks) aantal burgerslachtoffers vallen…..
Over het voorgaande moet nog opgemerkt worden dat de VS in veel zaken wordt bijgestaan door de NAVO, een terreurorganisatie die altijd onder militair opperbevel staat van de VS, een land dat zoals je kon lezen, de grootste terreurentiteit is op onze kleine aarde…… (en daarvoor zijn bij wijze van spreken kilometers aan bewijzen, neem alleen al de documenten in WikiLeaks)
Nee over het enorme aantal oorlogsmisdaden en misdaden tegen de menselijkheid van de VS hoor je Salemon niet….. Voor de gelegenheid had Salemon zich gestoken in een shirt waarop Putin staat afgebeeld als een maffiosi, ‘leuk hè?’ (als we een administratie als die van de VS hadden in Rusland, waren we al lang verwikkeld in WOIII, dat dit niet zo is hebben we vooral aan Putin te danken…..)
Volgens Salemon voert Rusland een desastreus economisch beleid, zonder even te melden dat vooral de VS en de EU daar met hun illegale sancties verantwoordelijk voor zijn…… Sancties voor o.a. de enorme leugen dat Rusland De Krim heeft geannexeerd, terwijl iedereen kan weten dat dit een leugen is, immers de bewoners van De Krim kozen in een door internationale waarnemers als correct uitgevoerd en eerlijk verlopen referendum, voor aansluiting bij Rusland (die grote meerderheid geldt ook voor de oorspronkelijke bewoners van De Krim). Niet vreemd als je ziet dat de door de VS georganiseerde opstand in Oekraïne, resulteerde in een staatsgreep tegen de (ook) door de bevolking van De Krim democratisch gekozen president Janoekovytsj, voor wie de de zwaar corrupte neonazi Porosjenko door de VS werd geïnstalleerd als juntaleider….. Voor deze acties dokte de VS maar liefst 4 miljard dollar, hoofdverantwoordelijken in deze: oorlogsmisdadigers Hillary Clinton en ‘vredesduif’ Obama……
Salemon wees ook op het ondemocratisch gehalte van de Russische regering, alsof de VS het toonbeeld is van democratie, dat geldt overigens voor een groot deel ook voor de rest van de westerse landen** >> alleen de reguliere media berichten op een manier die de zittende neoliberale en/of fascistoïde regeringen dienen van het land waarin ze opereren……. Zo weten deze media en politiek het volk te besodemieteren….. In de VS komt daar nog eens bij dat presidentskandidaten, die niet zelf schunnig rijk zijn en geen kapitaalkrachtige bedrijven of multimiljonairs achter zich hebben staan, het presidentschap wel kunnen vergeten……
Salemon?? Niets meer en minder dan een kwaadaardige trol, ongelofelijk dat ze het volk mag blijven voorliegen……..
* Een false flag operatie als het ‘Tonkin-incident’, op 2 en 4 augustus jl. 55 jaar geleden, waar Noord-Vietnam willens en wetens als agressor werd aangewezen….. Deze staat zou VS fregatten hebben aangevallen, wat later en zelfs vrij kort daarna een leugen bleek te zijn, zelfs de kapitein van één van de VS fregatten deed e.e.a. af als niet waar…… De VS begon op basis van deze leugen een illegale oorlog tegen Vietnam, Laos en Cambodja, die een paar miljoen mensen het leven kostte……

Het is vandaag 74 jaar geleden dat de VS volkomen overbodig Hiroshima aanviel met een atoombom, om de oefening in het afwerpen van een atoombom een paar dagen later te herhalen op Nagasaki…….. op The American Conservative een artikel van Robert W. Merry, waarin hij
schrijft over eerdere false flag operaties en andere manipulaties die
tot oorlog dan wel oorlogsdeelname van de VS hebben geleid.
Je had

Met 5
voorbeelden geeft Merry aan dat de VS in een aantal gevallen
onterecht in een oorlog verwikkelde raakte. Daarbij noemt Merry ook
WOII, echter het was bijna onmogelijk dat de VS uit deze oorlog kon
blijven, daar ook het beheersen van olievoorraden (in de grond) deel uitmaakte van
deze oorlog, echter de manier waarop e.e.a. gebeurde is welhaast ongelofelijk……
Lies
They Told Us: A Long History of Being Manipulated Into War
Before
we retaliate over drone and oil tanker attacks, take a look at all
the times we’ve been duped.

Secretary
of State Mike Pompeo says there’s no question that Iran initiated
the recent attacks on those two oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman. The
evidence, he says, is “indisputable” and “unmistakable.”
President Donald Trump weighs in with the same degree of certainty.
“Well, Iran did do it,” he told Fox News.
Maybe.
But our past is screaming at us: don’t buy it; you can’t trust
your leaders when war fever sets in and war prospects are on the
rise. Consider the history surrounding the run-ups to the Mexican
War, World War I, World War II, Vietnam, and the Iraq war. Lies,
misrepresentations, and manipulations abound in all those episodes.
As
for those tankers, where’s the evidence? True, the U.S. Central
Command trotted out a video that appears to show unidentified people
in a small boat removing something from the side of a tanker—an
unexploded mine, we are told by U.S. officials, who assert this
constitutes proof of Iran’s complicity. As Trump puts it, “And
you know they did it because you saw the boat.”
But
that’s pretty thin stuff. The Germans and Japanese made that clear
when they requested stronger evidence than that grainy video released
by the Pentagon.
Now
comes Politico with a piece saying the Trump
administration has been making the case “in public and private”
that no new congressional authorization would be necessary to go to
war with Iran. They could simply rely on the 2001 authorization
against Afghanistan after the 9/11 attacks on American soil.
Leave
aside for the moment the ominous threat this poses to the
constitutional precept that Congress is the repository of the
nation’s warmaking power. It also would preclude a congressional
debate on the matter, depriving the nation of an opportunity to
assess the facts before hostilities actually begin. The following
historical episodes reveal the importance of getting those facts
established before the country goes to war.
James
K. Polk and the Mexican War: Contrary to allegations that
have dogged the 11th president for nearly 180 years, it isn’t quite
true to say that he lied. But he did declare to the nation that
Mexico had “spilled American blood on the American soil.” The
problem is that it wasn’t, strictly speaking, American soil. That
territory had been under dispute between Mexico and Texas during the
time of Texas independence, and America inherited that dispute when
it acquired Texas through annexation in 1845. So it could be argued
that Polk was merely expressing his view that that disputed territory
actually belonged to the United States, just as Texas had always
insisted that it belonged to Texas.
But
such niceties of language shrouded the fact that, if there was no
other way for America to acquire what is now the Southwest and
California, then Polk wanted a war with Mexico. And he maneuvered
events with a clear intent to force the issue, much as Pompeo seems
to be doing now.
Polk
sent an army into the disputed territory and planted it directly
across the Rio Grande from the dusty little Mexican town of
Matamoros, where a large number of Mexican troops were stationed.
This was highly incendiary, and it inevitably led to a skirmish in
which 11 American soldiers were killed and another 50 or so captured.
Polk promptly sent a message to Congress saying the United States and
Mexico were in a state of war and calling for a congressional war
declaration.
South
Carolina’s Senator John C. Calhoun, among others, would have none
of it. This skirmish, he said, was a “mere local conflict, not
authorized by either government,” and it was “monstrous” to
blow it up into a doctrine that “every American is [now] an enemy
of every Mexican.” But American blood had been spilled, and the
country was riled. The final Senate vote was 40 to 2, with Calhoun
refusing to answer the roll call. The previous House vote was 173 to
14.
There
is plenty of documentary evidence, including Polk’s own diary, that
the president wanted that war and that, by maneuvering his troops in
such a way as to render bloodshed all but inevitable, he manipulated
public opinion. Indeed, even before the skirmish on the Rio Grande,
he was preparing to ask Congress for a war declaration.
Woodrow
Wilson and World War I: There can be no doubt that Wilson
was reelected president in 1916 (with just 49.2 percent of the vote)
on his stated resolve to keep America out of Europe’s Great War.
But it was all phony, as he’d always hankered to get America onto
the world stage. It wasn’t easy keeping the United States out of
the war through the election season, given delicate neutrality issues
forced upon the U.S. by both Britain and Germany. Britain imposed a
blockade designed to thwart all trade to Germany and the Central
Powers and to ”starve the whole population—men, women, and
children, old and young, wounded and sound—into submission,” as
Britain’s pugnacious First Sea Lord, Winston Churchill, brazenly
declared.
Wilson
initially sought to wend his way through this neutrality thicket,
rendered all the more difficult after Germany initiated submarine
attacks designed to stop munitions shipments to Britain and
counteract the blockade. But ultimately he favored the UK and took
actions he knew would draw America into the war. He not only observed
the British blockade but also allowed armed British merchant ships
entry to U.S. ports, which in turn fostered a flow of American
munitions to the Allied Powers. At the same time, Wilson declared
that Germany would be held to a “strict accountability” for any
American loss of life or property from German submarine attacks
designed to enforce the neutrality that Wilson was flouting. This
policy, he added, would apply even if affected Americans were
traveling or working on British or French ships. After all, he
declared, Americans had the “right” to travel on any vessels they
wanted, even in wartime.
Wilson’s
secretary of state, William Jennings Bryan, warned the president that
he faced a stark choice: either adopt a more evenhanded approach or
accept the inevitability of war. Bryan ultimately resigned over the
issue, and he turned out to be right. A desperate Germany, suffering
horrendously under Churchill’s starvation policy, initiated
unrestricted submarine warfare against ships carrying goods to
Britain or France. Wilson promptly asked for a congressional
declaration of war—and got it.
Franklin
Roosevelt and World War II: When Europe was once again
thrust into a dark conflict after Nazi Germany’s invasion of Poland
in September 1939, FDR almost desperately wished to take America in.
But the country, still stung by the bitter fruits of Wilson’s
previous intervention, didn’t want to enter the fray. “I am
almost literally walking on eggs,” Roosevelt wrote to a foreign
official, explaining the precarious perch between his own powerful
conviction and the public’s aversion to war. “I am at the moment
saying nothing, seeing nothing, and hearing nothing.”
But
this wasn’t quite true. He was applying his stealth and wiles in
every way possible to help Britain and nudge his country to war. He
passed diplomatic secrets to friendly reporters to help the cause. He
initiated secret depth charge attacks on German submarines in the
North Atlantic. As Robert Shjogan writes in his book Hard
Bargain, FDR almost certainly violated the prevailing Neutrality
Acts by making destroyers available to Britain—an action that in
another time and political climate could have been impeachable. And
he maneuvered Japan into a position of near desperation in an effort
to force a confrontation. That he knew what he was doing is evidenced
by the fact that he initiated planning for the removal of Japanese
Americans from the West Coast even before Pearl Harbor, as John
Toland reveals in his 1982 book Infamy. Shogan writes
that FDR didn’t hesitate “to twist the law, flout the
Constitution, hoodwink the public, and distort the political
process.”
Lyndon
Johnson and the Vietnam war: On August 2, 1964, North
Vietnamese PT boats attacked the U.S.S. Maddox in the Gulf of Tonkin.
This could not have surprised those in the know inside the U.S.
government. The Maddox had been providing logistical and electronic
surveillance support to South Vietnamese forces engaged in raiding
parties on North Vietnamese soil. Two days later, when it seemed
another attack on the Maddox had ensued, President Johnson snapped
into action. He asked for a congressional resolution authorizing him
to counter such raids with military action as needed. This allowed
Johnson to prosecute what became America’s disastrous seven-year
Vietnam war.
But
that second attack on the Maddox never took place. It seems that rare
weather patterns distorted radar imaging and gave the impression of
multiple hostile ships when none had been in the vicinity.
When
this was ascertained by Navy Captain John Herrick, commander of the
Seventh Fleet destroyer division, he promptly sent a corrective
message to Washington: “Review of action makes many reported
contacts and torpedoes fired appear doubtful. Freak weather effects
on radar and overeager sonarmen may have accounted for many reports.
No actual visual sightings by Maddox. Suggest complete evaluation
before any further action taken.”
But
action already had been taken, and Johnson administration officials
weren’t about to turn around and let the opportunity slip. So they
lied. Within days, Secretary of State Dean Rusk and Defense Secretary
Robert McNamara traveled to Capitol Hill to assure lawmakers that the
August 4 “attacks” represented ”open aggression on the high
seas against the United States of America,” as Johnson put it.
In
response to expressions of skepticism by Oregon Senator Wayne Morse,
McNamara declared, “Our Navy played absolutely no part in, was not
associated with, was not aware of, any South Vietnamese actions, if
there were any…. The Maddox was operating in international waters,
was carrying out a routine patrol of the type we carry out all over
the world at all times.” As Robert Mann writes in a footnote in A
Grand Delusion: America’s Descent into Vietnam, “That
statement was, as McNamara knew, false.”
Arkansas
Senator William Fulbright agreed to manage the Tonkin Gulf resolution
on the Senate floor largely because he had faith in Johnson’s
veracity. As Fulbright’s staff chief, Lee Williams, later said, “He
had no reason to believe that he was used as a dupe, if you will, and
that this was a ruse on behalf of Johnson to get the authority that
he needed to conduct a wider war.”
George
W. Bush and the Iraq war: Did Bush lie to the American
people about those weapons of mass destruction that the U.S.
government expected to find in Iraq? Probably not. More likely, Bush
and his people lied to themselves in their zealous efforts to fashion
justifications for overthrowing Iraq’s leader, Saddam Hussein, and
to ensure Middle East peace, protect the U.S. homeland, and preserve
America’s regional influence. But officials have a grave
responsibility to ensure extensive fact finding and sober
deliberation in matters of war and peace. Presidents shouldn’t take
America to war based on an oops. This was reckless behavior for which
the Bush people, including Bush himself, have never been brought to
account.
And
it’s undeniable that the president and many of his top officials
were bent on going to war against Saddam irrespective of the factual
intricacies involved. There’s the rub. That invasion arguably
constitutes the greatest American strategic blunder in at least half
a century, perhaps in the entire postwar period. Those kinds of
decisions require serious due diligence. So if Bush and his people
didn’t know that there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq,
they should have. If not malfeasance, it was abject nonfeasance.
The
lesson: beware when our leaders manifest a passion for war. That’s
when it’s time to demand honesty, sobriety, and restraint—and
answers. The burden of proof rests with the war advocates. It doesn’t
mean we shouldn’t go to war, just that when we do, it should be
with our eyes open.
Nog even het volgende: Merry noemt ook Pearl Harbor, waar intussen bekend is dat de VS op de hoogte was van de komende aanval, maar deze heeft laten gebeuren om zo mee te kunnen doen aan de oorlog in een fiks gebied van de Stille Oceaan.

Op 5
juni 1968 werd Robert F. (Bobby) Kennedy neergeschoten, een dag later overleed hij in het ziekenhuis…… Bobby Kennedy was de broer van de eerder vermoorde
president John F. Kennedy….. Bobby Kennedy werd volgens de politie
in het achterhoofd geschoten door een ‘solitaire gek’ die NB bijna 3 meter voor
hem stond…….

Bobby Kennedy was als presidentskandidaat (zoals zijn broer) tegen de oorlog in Vietnam en dat heeft hem, net als zijn broer het leven gekost….. (hoewel er twijfel is of John F. Kennedy de oorlog tegen Noord-Vietnam niet zou hebben voortgezet als hij niet was vermoord)
Velen stellen dat Bobby Kennedy de verkiezingen zeker zou hebben gewonnen van Tricky Dick Nixon, als hij niet was neergeschoten…….
Tijdens de bewuste toespraak die Kennedy hield voor dat presidentschap van de VS in 1968, bleken ook CIA agenten aanwezig
te zijn geweest en wat die moorddadige ploerten daar deden ‘is nog steeds niet
bekend…’ (wel dus: Bobby Kennedy vermoorden!!)
Deze maand is het 48 jaar geleden dat VS president en oorlogsmisdadiger Nixon de oorlog verklaarde aan drugs.

BBC World Service radio had dit onderwerp gistermorgen in het onderdeel ‘Witness’ en ook dat was weer de opmaat naar een aantal leugens…… Moet zeggen dat het me meeviel dat er maar één keer werd gehakt op het gebruik van marihuana, de harddrug heroïne vormde de hoofdmoot van dit programmaonderdeel.
Heroïne was dan ook de drug waarmee de regering Nixon en de maffia de gekleurde jongeren rustig wilde houden, na de vele rellen van die jongeren in de 60er jaren tegen de discriminatie van zwarten in de VS….. De opzet destijds is wonderwel geslaagd, echter ‘een beetje te goed’ daar de verslaafde jongeren massaal de misdaad ingingen om hun verslaving te kunnen betalen (de heroïne werd uiteraard verkocht door de maffia…..)….
Een ander negatief effect (al was dat wel het plan) was het grote aantal doden, dit leidde echter tot nieuw verzet onder de zwarte bevolking, waarbij velen zich bekeerden tot de islam…….
De volgende stap was de introductie van methadon, een middel waarvan de ‘high’ veel langer duurt dan die van heroïne, terwijl de high of roes vergelijkbaar is met die van heroïne…. Zo kon men de heroïne verslaafden een goedkoper alternatief bieden en was de tijd beperkt die verslaafden hadden om middels inbraak e.d. aan geld te komen…… Eén groot nadeel: methadon is meer verslavend dan heroïne en richt zo mogelijk nog meer schade aan in het lichaam…
Veel van de heroïne die verspreid werd in de VS werd ingevoerd middels militaire vliegtuigen die uit Vietnam naar de VS vlogen, ofwel de heroïne kwam uit de zogenaamde Gouden Driehoek in Zuidoost-Azië, een gebied dat was verdeeld over Vietnam, Laos en Birma……
Vervelend voor de VS autoriteiten die de heroïne invoerden voor de opstandige zwarte jongeren, ook de VS militairen in Vietnam begonnen heroïne te gebruiken….. Daarvoor vond men een snelle detectiemethode uit, waarmee men uit de urine kon opmaken of de bewuste militair onlangs heroïne had gebruikt…… De militairen werd dan ook te verstaan gegeven dat ze langer moesten blijven in Vietnam als ze heroïne hadden gebruikt, waar zo’n 90% van de VS militairen maar al te graag zo snel mogelijk weg wilden uit Vietnam……
Tekenend weer in Witness: de claim dat de VS overheid zelf de zwarte bevolking overspoelde met heroïne werd afgedaan als onzin……. Tja, de BBC is er niet alleen om het waanzinnige regeringsbeleid van May te steunen, maar ook om dat van de grootste terreurentiteit op aarde, de VS, goed te lullen, zelfs als dit over het verleden gaat……
Overigens hebben VS organisaties als de DEA en de CIA vanaf het eind van de 70er jaren zelf vele tonnen cocaïne geïmporteerd uit Zuid- en Midden Amerika……… Zo werd o.a. geld verzameld voor geheime acties van de CIA…..
Eén ding is zeker: de oorlog tegen drugs is één grote mislukking geworden, waar honderdduizenden (als niet een paar miljoen) mensen het slachtoffer van zijn geworden en waar hele gebieden in Latijns-Amerika met gif werden bespoten door de VS, gebieden die voor jaren niet meer te gebruiken zijn ten behoeve van landbouw……

beest Trump heeft laten weten dat het hele asielsysteem in de VS
moet worden opgedoekt, waar hij aan toevoegde dat de VS ook van de
rechters af moet……
‘Je moet
niet elke keer een rechtszaak hebben als er iemand een voet op VS
bodem zet’, aldus (de vertaalde) Trump, die hiermee ten overvloede nog
eens heeft bewezen niets anders te zijn dan een ordinaire
fascist die de ‘democratie’ in de VS ziet als een manier om als dictator te regeren……..
De
wereld moet af van de VS, althans van haar smerige en uiterst
bloedige buitenlandbeleid, een beleid dat niets anders is dan op
grootschalige manier terreur uitoefenen, waarbij het aantal
burgerslachtoffers niet van belang wordt geacht…… Grootscheepse VS terreur die
vluchtelingenstromen op gang brengt….. (terreur waarvoor de VS ook in feite de NAVO gebruikt, waar de NAVO-lidstaten maar al te graag meewerken aan die terreur)
De
wereld moet af van de inmenging door de VS in binnenlandse aangelegenheden van andere landen, inmenging die de vorm kan aannemen van het opzetten van een
geheime economische oorlog waarbij het volk te maken krijgt met grote tekorten aan levensmiddelen en medicijnen……. Het ontevreden volk wordt daarbij door de VS aangemoedigd het
liefst een bloedige opstand te beginnen, om een VS niet welgevallig
land onder de knoet te krijgen……. Daarbij schroomt de VS (de CIA) niet om zelfs terreurgroepen als Al Qaida en IS in te zetten om het beoogde doel te bereiken
Inmenging
van de VS die ook kan bestaan uit het uitvoeren van een ‘false flag
operatie’ om zoeen
voorwendsel te hebben een land aan te vallen, ‘zeg maar’ zoals de
nazi’s dat deden bij het binnenvallen van Sudetenland en Polen, of
zoals de VS heeft laten zien met het ‘Tonkin-incident’, de reden
voor de volledige deelname van de VS aan de oorlog van Zuid- tegen
Noord-Vietnam, een oorlog die een paar miljoen mensen het leven heeft gekost, niet alleen in Vietnam, maar ook in buurlanden als Laos en Cambodja…….
De
wereld moet af van de illegale moorden die de VS pleegt met haar
drones en waarbij meer dan 90% van de slachtoffers niet eens verdacht
werd (als het wel verdachte en beoogde doel), je snapt het al: voornamelijk
vrouwen en kinderen…….
De
wereld moet af van de meer dan 800 militaire VS bases over de wereld,
ga lekker thuis de boel op stelten zetten, geteisem!
De
wereld moet de wapenhandel stopzetten en daarmee de enorme militaire
industrie van de VS, we hebben al veel te veel wapens op de
wereld…….. (en reken maar dat de VS nog steeds chemische en
biologische wapens heeft en ontwikkelt, precies zoals Israël en Egypte dat doen, al
heeft de VS i.t.t. de 2 voornoemde landen wel het non proliferatie verdrag tegen deze wapens
getekend, maar ja: de VS, wat wil je? Een meer onbetrouwbaar land is
niet te vinden op deze aardkloot…..)
De
wereld heeft zwaar behoefte aan een tijd rustig ademhalen, i.p.v. de
ene VS oorlog en crisis na de andere over zich heen te krijgen……

Calling
for End of US Asylum System, Trump Adds, “We Should Get Rid of
Judges”
(CD) — President
Donald Trump called for the end of the U.S. system that processes
those seeking political asylum and refugee status on Friday and then
added that it would also be good to “get rid of judges.”
“Congress
has to act,” Trump told reporters outside the White House,
referring to the asylum claim process and the broader immigration
system. “They have to get rid of catch-and-release, chain
migration, visa lottery, they have to get rid of the whole asylum
system because it doesn’t work.”
“And
frankly,” the president then added, “we should get rid of judges.
You can’t have a court case every time somebody sets their foot on
our ground.” Trump was on his way to visit the U.S.-Mexico border
in California and then to a campaign fundraiser event in posh Beverly
Hills later on Friday.

it was possible to interpret that president’s comments as
specifically referring to judges who hear immigration and asylum
claims cases, that unstated specificity offered no comfort to critics
who immediately lashed out at Trump for once again thumbing his nose
at human rights and the rule of law.

Hier nog een boodschap voor de reguliere media, zoals de NOS, Volkskrant en NRC, die meer dan 2 jaar lang zogenaamd onafhankelijk alle Russiagate fake news (nepnieuws) en manipulaties hebben gebracht en die men daar van voldoende bewijskracht zag om Trump af te zetten >> Kijk redacties, deze zaak waar Trump bewezen heeft gezegd dat rechters moeten worden afgezet, is meer dan voldoende om Trump af te zetten, niet op basis van leugens die jullie propageerden, maar op basis van feiten!! Camp de schrijver van het hieronder opgenomen artikel, eerder
gepubliceerd op Truthdig en door mij overgenomen van Information Clearing House, stelt in zijn openingszin dat het
niet de eerste keer is dat de VS regering en de massamedia het volk
van de VS een oorlog in sleept, dan wel een staatsgreep organiseert die
onherroepelijk desastreuze gevolgen zal hebben….. Die uitspraak
gaat wel op voor het eufemisme van het jaar, immers de VS
geschiedenis vanaf 1945 staat er bol van!*
Met
een terugkijk op zijn leve ten tijde van de tweede illegale oorlog
van de VS tegen Irak in 2003 en hoe hij toen de zaken bekeek, waar
hij het gevoel kreeg dat de argumenten voor die oorlog niet klopten,
ontleedt Camp 4 illegale oorlogen van de VS die op valse gronden
werden gevoerd.
Camp
begint met de Spaans-Amerikaanse oorlog, waar de reden voor een VS aanval het zinken was van oorlogsschip USS Maine in de
haven van Havanna. Daarna haalt hij de Vietnam oorlog aan en het
conflict in de Golf van Tonkin, waar VS oorlogsschepen ‘schoten op
weersverschijnselen die ze op de radar zagen……’ Oorlogsmisdadiger Robert McNamara wist op grond van deze in feite
false flag operatie**, president Johnson te bewegen de strijd
tegen Noord-Vietnam te intensiveren tot een ‘totale oorlog……’ Later gaf McNamara toe dat het Golf van Tonkin incident nooit
plaatsvond…… Let wel: deze oorlog kostte miljoenen het leven, deze slachtoffers werden niet alleen in Vietnam vermoord (3,8 miljoenmensen), maar ook in buurlanden Laos en Cambodja……
Vervolgens
komt de oorlog tegen Irak aan bod, een illegale oorlog waarvan
iedereen kan weten dat deze op basis van leugens werd aangegaan door
de VS, een oorlog die intussen aan meer dan 2 miljoen Irakezen het
leven heeft gekost (Camp noemt overigens een aantal van 1 miljoen
Irakese slachtoffers, nogal een verschil met schattingen die in Irak
werden gemaakt door deskundigen, al blijft een aantal van 1 miljoen
doden, een verschrikking waar je je amper iets bij voor kan
stellen….)
Camp
komt als eerste (hij begint vanaf het vierde voorbeeld) met het
bombarderen van Syrië. Jammer dat hij niet wijst op het feit dat de
VS al in 2006 heeft besloten dat Assad weg moest, niet in de laatste
plaats daar hij pijpleidingen over de grond van Syrië weigerde,

Camp
noemt veel meer feiten en zaken die de reguliere (massa-) media niet
brengen. Het verhaal eindigt tenslotte bij Venezuela, waarover Camp
o.a. vertelt dat oorlogsmisdadiger Bolton zonder blikken of blozen
stelde dat de VS uit is op de enorme olievoorraad van Venezuela (de
op 1 na grootste voorraad ter wereld, volgens Camp de grootste maar dat klopt m.i. niet). Deze bekentenis van Bolton werd niet eens gebracht door de massamedia, nee zij houden vol dat de arme
Venezolanen geholpen moeten worden, daar het hen aan alles ontbreekt,
‘zelfs aan tandpasta…’ (zie daarvoor ook de video van Lee Camp, die onder het artikel is weergegeven, waar hij ook op de ‘honger’ in Venezuela ingaat)
Niet
genoemd door Camp, maar de VN en het Rode Kruis hebben de VS terecht
gewezen met haar poging humanitaire hulp te politiseren,
daar deze organisaties al lang humanitaire hulp verstrekken in
Venezuela, er zijn zelfs 20 keer meer humanitaire hulpgoederen in
Venezuela (waaronder medicijnen) dan de VS heeft klaarstaan…..
Humanitaire hulpgoederen die zoals gezegd wel medicijnen bevatten, in
tegenstelling tot de humanitaire hulp uit de VS, terwijl de westerse massamedia en het grootste deel van de westerse politici in navolging van hun collega’s in de VS, dat keer op keer wel
stellen……. Nota bene USAID, de organisatie die de VS zendingen gereed maakt, heeft zelf toegegeven
dat zich geen medicijnen tussen die VS hulpgoederen bevinden….. Alweer een feit dat de westerse reguliere media niet hebben gemeld……

This
is not the first time our government and our media have conspired to
drag the American people into war with another country—or helped
create a coup that will inevitably have disastrous results

Clearing House” – I was 23 when we invaded Iraq,
and I wasn’t sure it was based on lies, but something deep down in
me—just behind the spleen—told me it was based on lies. Kinda
like if your blind date shows up and you notice he has a 2004 flip
phone. It seems vaguely worrisome, and no explanation he can
haltingly supply will put you at ease. Plus, anyone else who acts
like it’s normal also becomes suspect.
The
invasion of Iraq just felt like it was a lie to me. And it turned out
that I was right, that it was a lie, and that the entirety of the
mainstream media and our government were either wrong or lying and,
most of the time, both.
Now
our government and our media are trying their damnedest to lie us
into another war, this one with Venezuela. They tell us the
Venezuelan people are desperate for necessities like toothpaste,
while independent journalists show
piles of affordable toothpaste in
Caracas.
And
even if they didn’t have toothpaste, that hardly seems like a good
reason for America to be dropping our long-range bad decisions on the
heads of innocent people. Turning a town into an impact crater for
the sake of a battle to stop gingivitis seems a bit extreme.
The
mainstream media and nearly the entirety of the U.S. government tell
us Juan Guaido is the “interim president,” even though he was
never elected to that position and the current president is still
leading the Venezuelan government and military. So I guess this
“interim” is the time between Guaido being a nobody and the time
when he goes back to being nobody but now gets to tell women at
parties, “You know, I used to be interim president.”
The
mainstream media also inform us that the Venezuelan military set U.S.
aid trucks on fire, when video shows opposition
forces doing it.
Furthermore, the idea of Venezuela taking “aid” from the country
whose sanctions are crushing them would be like the Standing Rock
Sioux accepting gift packages from the construction crews
swiss-cheesing their land to lay down the Dakota Access pipeline (DAPL).
Unless the boxes are filled with industrial paper towels to help
clean up oil spills, I fail to see how it would be beneficial.
Sometimes you do indeed have to look a gift horse in the mouth (or
should I say “gift
dog”).
This
is not the first time our government and our media have conspired to
drag the American people into war with another country—or helped
create a coup that will inevitably have disastrous results. So I
thought this would be a prime moment to go through the top four
greatest hits.
Number
4: The Spanish-American War
This
is widely considered to be the birth of modern media propaganda,
because it was the first war actually started
by the media.
Newspapers fabricated atrocities in the never-ending quest for more
readers.
And
as The
New York Times noted,
“[T]he sensationalistic reporting of the sinking of the American
battleship Maine in Havana harbor on Feb. 15, 1898 … and all the
other egregious reporting leading up to the Spanish-American War
might have been considered merely cartoonish if it hadn’t led to a
major international conflict.”
I
think maybe The New York Times got that quote confused with its
mission statement: “Cartoonishly dragging America into major
international conflict since 1851!”
Number
3: The Vietnam War
Sure,
most everyone knows the catastrophic Vietnam War was precipitated by
the Gulf of Tonkin incident, in which U.S. naval vessels were fired
upon by villainous North Vietnamese torpedo boats. Following that
skirmish, Defense Secretary Robert McNamara recommended that
President Johnson retaliate, and the full-force Vietnam War had
begun. But most Americans still don’t know that there was no Gulf
of Tonkin incident—unless you count U.S. naval ships literally
firing their weapons at weather events they saw
on the radar.
The 2003 documentary “The Fog of War” finally revealed the truth.
Former Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara confessed that the Gulf
of Tonkin attack did
not actually happen.
That’s
right. It never happened. Much like leprechauns or dragons or Simon
Cowell’s talent, it was a figment of our national imagination.
The
lies of our government, followed by the fawning, credulous reporting
from our media, led to the death of 58,000 U.S. service members and
as many as 3.8 million Vietnamese.
The
United States government has one of the most powerful Departments of
Fabrication and Falsification ever assembled. It’s a modern marvel
on par with the Great Pyramid of Giza and Rafael Nadal’s
down-the-line running forehand.
Number
2: The Iraq War
Of
course, there’s the most obvious lie about Iraq, i.e., that Saddam
Hussein had so many weapons of mass destruction that he would often
use one to scrub hard-to-reach places while in the tub. But that
wasn’t the only falsehood manifested to bring about our complete
annihilation of the sovereign nation Saddam ruled over. There were
others, such as the idea that Saddam was connected to al-Qaida and
perhaps played a role in the 9/11 attacks. William Safire at The New
York Times, in May
2002, wrote,
“Mohamed Atta, destined to be the leading Sept. 11 suicide
hijacker, was reported last fall by Czech intelligence to have met at
least once with Saddam Hussein’s espionage chief in the Iraqi
Embassy.”
Yes,
Safire was able to polish a load of bullshit so thoroughly it would
sparkle like a sapphire. And that column is still up on the Times’
website, without a correction or retraction. I would say the Times is
only useful for covering the bottom of a birdcage, but I’d fear the
paper would lie your pet cockatoo into an ill-advised invasion,
killing millions.
But
the propaganda didn’t even stop there. There was also the anthrax
attacks following 9/11. Anthrax was mailed to press outlets and the
offices of politicians. To this day, many people still believe it had
something to do with Iraq or al-Qaida because of award-winning
national embarrassments like
Brian Ross.
“Brian
Ross at ABC News wrote ‘the anthrax in the tainted letter sent to
Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle was laced with bentonite’ and
‘bentonite is a trademark of Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein’s
biological weapons program.’ ” As Salon so clearly put it,
“All of those factual claims … were completely false,
demonstrably and unquestionably so. … Yet neither ABC nor Ross have
ever retracted, corrected, clarified, or explained these fraudulent
reports.”
And,
as you would expect, following that blatantly false reporting, Brian
Ross did not lose his job. In fact, he wasn’t put out to pasture
from ABC News until
last year,
when he “reported that fired national security adviser Michael
Flynn was ready to testify that Trump told him to contact the
Russians during the campaign.”
That
report—much like the rumors of Brian Ross’s journalistic
integrity—turned out to be absolutely false.
(In
my professional opinion, anyone who had anything to do with the
selling, perpetrating or planning of the Iraq War should never again
hold a position higher than assistant trainee to the guy who picks up
the shit of a dog that does not belong to anyone of any particular
importance. If that position does not exist, we as a nation should
create it just for this moment. Yet, despite my objections, Robert
Mueller (head of the FBI at the time of the invasion and a big
supporter of it) is leading the biggest investigation in the country.
John Bolton, who advocated for the Iraq invasion as far back as the
1990s, is now national security adviser. Bill Kristol, who pushed for
the war and said it would last two months, is now a regular panelist
on MSNBC. And the list goes on.)
Unlike
Defense Secretary McNamara, who admitted the Gulf of Tonkin incident
never happened, we don’t have a smoking gun showing that the Bush
administration created these lies to get us into Iraq. … Oh, wait!
Turns out the paper shredder at the Bush Oval Office was on strike
for a higher minimum wage in 2002, and in fact, we do have a memo
written by Bush’s defense secretary, Donald Rumsfeld, a year before
U.S. forces unleashed a reign of terror on the Iraqi people. His memo
about warwith
Iraq stated, “How
start? US discovers Saddam connection to Sept 11 or to anthrax
attacks? Or maybe a dispute over WMD inspections?”
I’m
not sure what’s more striking—that this memo exists, or that it
sounds like the Bush boys planned a massive international battle the
same way a broke 35-year-old maps out his bad novel that he’s sure
is the ticket out of his mom’s basement.
“How
start horrible bloody war? Maybe Saddam found to moonlight as porn
star?”
Point
is, multiple completely false stories laid the groundwork for an
invasion of Iraq that left well
over 1 million people
dead.
Number
1: The Bombing of Syria
President
Bashar Assad gassed his own people, thereby guaranteeing more
American involvement—and he did it just days after Donald Trump had
told the Pentagon to begin withdrawing troops from Syria. At least,
that’s the story the corporate media repeated on-loop for at least
a month, only pausing every 10 minutes to try desperately to get us
all to buy more things with “baconator” in the name or to seek
out a harder penis.
So
we are expected to believe Assad did the one thing that would ensure
more U.S. involvement just as he was about to win his war? It’s
kinda like how, when I’m about to win a fistfight, I often poke
myself repeatedly in the eye. You know—just to keep it exciting.
Famed
journalists Seymour
Hersh and Robert
Fisk have
done great work showing that the chemical attacks never happened, but
there’s a new update. Just two weeks ago, a BBC producer came
forward and said the Douma, Syria, chemical attack footage
was staged.
His
tweet said that after six months of investigations, he can prove that
no fatalities occurred in the hospital. Yet our breathlessly inept
mainstream American media, with little to no evidence, ran around
saying, “There was a chemical attack! Those poor people! And they
don’t have toothpaste, either! We must bomb them to help them!”
The
overarching point here is that we’ve replaced our media with
stenographers to the ruling elite long ago. The ruling class comes up
with a lie to manufacture American consent for its all-American war
crimes, and that lie is then sprayed like laminate all over average
American citizens. This goes on until such time as any average
citizens who question said lie is looked at like they have two heads,
and one of them is covered in rat shit.
For
the “journalists” who hose the lies across the country the best,
awards and private jets and rooftop drinks with midlevel celebrities
like Chuck Norris await them. Now we’re getting to the point where
the actual rulers—the Trump administration, etc.—are not even
hiding their corruption. John Bolton stated
on Fox News that
the ultimate goal is to steal Venezuela’s oil. But our media
continue to tout the propaganda line. Even after Bolton said that,
you won’t see Anderson Cooper or one of Fox News’ grand wizards
saying, “Venezuela is undergoing a U.S.-backed coup because we’d
like to steal their oil.” It’s truly dizzying that the corporate
media preserve the propaganda even after the “leaders” have
revealed their true sinister intentions.
On
the inside of Wolf Blitzer’s eyelids, the phrase, “Must Defend
the Matrix” blinks in red.
The
propaganda line for Venezuela right now is, “We want to help the
poor Venezuelans.” Well, if you want to help them, then keep
America out of their face. Don’t force them to have anything to do
with the country that came up with drive-through fried food served in
a bucket and opioid nasal sprays. At no point does anyone look at the
Donald Trump presidency and think, “Wow, that country really has
things figured out. I hope they bring some of their great
decision-making to our doorstep.”

woensdag werd Madeline Albright’, minister BuZa en
oorlogsmisdadiger onder Clinton ‘op de gril gelegd’ door Ilan Omar,
een democratisch vertegenwoordiger* in het lagerhuis van Minnesota, een vrouw die de laatste tijd volkomen terecht en opvallend luid aan de weg timmert.
Onderwerp
van gesprek, zoals je al uit de kop begrepen had, waren en zijn de sancties die
de VS andere landen oplegde/oplegt en de militaire interventies (lees: illegale oorlogen) die de VS
keer op keer voert (en dat tegen landen waar de VS niets te zoeken
heeft, Ap)
Wat betreft de illegale oorlogen zei Albright over Afghanistan dat de VS dat land aanviel omdat daar de kapers van 9/11 vandaan kwamen >> dit is een pertinente leugen: het overgrote deel van de kapers kwam uit Saoedi-Arabië, waarmee de VS nog steeds goed bevriend is en dat het zelfs steunt bij de genocide die dit land samen met andere terreurstaten uitoefent in Jemen…… Over 9/11 gesproken: het land dat het meest baat had bij die aanslagen was de VS zelf en meer gespecificeerd, het militair-industrieel complex en de geheime diensten van de VS….
Ook de illegale oorlog van de VS tegen Libië was volgens Albright gerechtigd, Khadaffi zou een bloedige dictator zou geweest**, terwijl de bevolking onder zijn bewind in welstand leefde: zo goed als gratis huisvesting, scholing voor jongens en meisjes, waar studenten (mannen en vrouwen) zelfs in het buitenland mochten studeren op kosten van de regering, waar ook de huisvesting en leefgeld voor die studenten werden betaald! Of wat dacht je van de gratis medische zorg en bijna gratis energielevering……
Libië, het eens rijkste land van Afrika is verworden tot bijna het armste en het ontbreekt de bevolking nu aan alles, meisjes mogen niet meer naar school en het volk leeft in grote chaos, een land waar nu openlijk slavenmarkten worden gehouden…… Nee, echt een succes Albright, die illegale oorlog!!!
Ondanks
dat sancties vooral het gewone volk treffen, durfde Albright een
aantal jaren geleden in het tv programma 60 Minutes tegen presentator
Lesley Stahl te zeggen dat ze nog steeds achter de sancties stond die
ze Irak onder Saddam Hoessein oplegde en waardoor 500.000 Iraakse kinderen
omkwamen…… De dood van die half miljoen kinderen, zo stelde Albright, waren zelfs met terugwerkende kracht nog steeds de moeite waard……. Dit terwijl het niets veranderde aan de Iraakse situatie destijds……..
Albright
staat nog steeds achter het sanctieapparaat (in feite chantage en zoals destijds in Irak zelfs massamoord) dat de VS in feite illegaal gebruikt tegen haar onwelgevallige landen…… Albright schijnt godbetert nog steeds les te geven en daar onderwijst ze ook sancties en de zin daarvan….
Jammer dat Omar niet begon over de 500.000 kinderen die in Irak omkwamen….. Al moet ik
zeggen dat het me meevalt dat de gitzwarte kwaadaardige trol Albright nu
zegt dat de sancties die heden ten dage worden opgelegd, alleen
opgelegd mogen worden als ze de gewone bevolking niet treffen, waarmee ze haar eerdere verdediging van de sancties tegen Irak in feite heeft herroepen……
Dit nog naast het feit dat de VS, zoals gezegd, alleen landen ‘aanvalt’ met sancties als de regering van dat land niet de hielen van de VS likt, als dit namelijk wel het geval is, maakt het de VS niet uit hoe vaak mensenrechten worden geschonden of zelfs massamoorden worden gepleegd….. Zie nogmaals de verhouding van de VS met landen als Saoedi-Arabië, Israël, Egypte, Honduras, Guatemala, Colombia, Brazilië en ga nog maar een half uur door…..

Omar Questions Madeline Albright on Failures of US Military
Intervention and Sanctions
“As
someone who understands the horrors of war firsthand,” noted
Minnesota Democrat, “I worry when we fail to consider the human
toll of war and our moral responsibility to the people of these
countries.”
(CD) — While
much of the country was watching the testimony of Michael Cohen on
Wednesday, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) was questioning former Secretary
of State Madeline Albright in a separate, largely vacant hearing room
about sanctions and the pitfalls of past U.S. military interventions.
“Some
scholars and practitioners of foreign policy have questioned whether
sanctions are effective in changing the behavior of certain
governments,” Omar said, pointing out that economic sanctions can
have dire effects on the innocent populations of targeted countries.
Albright,
who once infamously told 60 Minutes reporter Lesley Stahl that the
deaths of half-a-million Iraqi children due to sanctions were “worth
it” to get rid of then-Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, said
sanctions still have a role to play in American foreign policy.
Sanctions
should be understood as a foreign policy tactic between diplomacy and
force, explained Albright.
“We
have learned a lot about sanctions,” said Albright. “We learned
that comprehensive sanctions, which we did in Iraq, hurt the people,
and we began to look at targeted or smart sanctions.”
Omar
and Albright’s exchange came during a hearing (pdf)
in the House Foreign Affairs Committee Wednesday entitled “The
Trump Administration’s Foreign Policy: A Mid-Term Assessment.”
Albright was on hand to discuss the administration’s priorities and
didn’t hold back in her assessment of the first two years of the
Trump doctrine.
“The
administration’s record is marked by confusion, inconsistency, a
lack of diplomacy, and, in some cases, a complete abdication of
responsibility,” Albright said in her testimony, who added that the
State Department’s funding and staffing woes were adding to a loss
of U.S. standing in the world.
Newly-elected
to the House, Omar joined The
Intercept‘s
Medhi Hassan this week to discuss her first two months in office.
