Libië, voor de grote westerse terreur het rijkste land van Afrika, kampt nu zelfs met watertekorten………

Over de Libische leider Khadaffi zijn in de loop van de jaren enorme leugens verteld, de reden daarvoor was zijn verzet tegen de westerse hegemonie in Afrika en dan met name die van de VS.

Onder Khadaffi waren in Libië zaken als huisvesting, gas, elektra, scholing voor jongens en meisjes (inclusief studeren met leefgeld en huisvesting, ook in het buitenland) en gezondheidszorg, zo goed als gratis……. Van al deze zaken is niet meer over, meisjes en vrouwen zijn door het westerse ingrijpen weer gedegradeerd tot huis- en seksslaven, wat ze waren voordat Khadaffi de macht greep…….

Khadaffi had tevens grote waterprojecten aangelegd om de steden aan de kust ook van water te voorzien. Deze infrastructuur werd voor een groot deel weggebombardeerd door de westerse coalitie o.l.v. de grootste terreurentiteit op aarde, de VS.

Onlangs zou een ‘terreurgroep’ de laatste watervoorziening van Tripoli hebben vernield….. Burgers proberen wanhopig water aan te boren onder de stad, tot nu toe tevergeefs (en dat zal zo blijven, immers Khadaffi legde niet voor niets de infrastructuur aan voor de watervoorziening, met wateraanvoer vanaf grote afstanden….).

Op BBC World Service afgelopen zaterdagmiddag rond 14.17 u. verslaggever Mary Fitzgerald over deze zaak, Met geen woord sprak ze over de westerse bombardementen op Libië, die het land zo’n 60 jaar terug in de tijd hebben gebombardeerd……… Nee de terreurgroepen zijn verantwoordelijk, terwijl deze groepen alleen konden ontstaan in het vacuüm dat Khadaffi achterliet, een vacuüm waarvoor de NAVO o.l.v. de VS  verantwoordelijk voor is…… Sterker nog: die terreurgroepen werden door het westen van wapens en training voorzien, precies als in Syrië, waar men in het westen die terreurgroepen ‘gematigde rebellen’ durft te noemen……..*

Uiteraard sprak Fitzgerald positief over de door het westen geïnstalleerde regering, die bestaat uit 2 terreurgroepen, die qua wreedheid niet onderdoen voor andere terreurgroepen en de bevolking al helemaal niet beschermen…….. Laat staan dat deze groepen fatsoenlijk zorgen voor de vluchtelingen die na een vreselijke tocht in Libië belanden, integendeel deze vluchtelingen worden: -opgesloten in provisorische gevangenissen, -gemarteld, -verkocht als slaaf, -verkracht of zelfs vermoord, mochten de achtergebleven familieleden niet tijdig met losgeld komen……

Smerige hypocrieten zoals CDA drollenpoetser van Haersma Buma (en meer van zijn ‘christelijke’ partijgenoten, zoals hufters Omtzigt en de Lange), de grijnzende VVD Unterstormbannführer Zijlstra (die nu godbetert als minister van BuZa mede over het vluchtelingenbeleid gaat) e.a. hebben geen probleem met deze barbaarse en uiterst wrede behandeling van die vluchtelingen, ja ze zeggen van wel, maar ondernemen totaal niets om hier een eind aan te maken…… Het belangrijkste is immers dat die gevluchte mensen niet naar de EU en daarmee naar Nederland komen, mensen die vooral op de vlucht zijn vanwege illegale oorlogen en conflicten die door het westen zijn begonnen of uitgelokt, ……..

Dat noemt men beschaving anno 2017………

Nog even terug naar de BBC, ongelofelijk wat er van deze omroep is geworden, het is als in Nederland met de publieke zendgemachtigden: regerings- en neoliberaal-getrouw……. Met onafhankelijke journalistiek heeft de berichtgeving al lang niets meer te maken, schande!!!

* Nog een link van Libië met Syrië: nadat Libië in puin lag en de chaos compleet was, hebben de VS en Saoedi-Arabië terreurgroepen (met hun wapens) vanuit Libië naar Syrië vervoerd, om daar te vechten tegen het bewind van Assad…..

Oekraïense opvang weeskinderen (met en zonder ‘vlek’) barbaars >> schuld van Sovjet Unie aldus BBC verslaggever……….

Afgelopen zaterdagmiddag was het weer een lekker potje Rusland/Sovjet Unie op BBC World Service radio (rond 14.25 u.). De presentator was in gesprek met een verslaggever die in Oekraïne onderzoek had gedaan naar de belabberde omstandigheden waaronder ‘weeskinderen’ zonder of met een lichamelijke en/of geestelijke handicap worden gehuisvest en worden vastgehouden……. Ouders of alleenstaande moeders kunnen afstand doen van hun kinderen, als ze geen middelen hebben deze te onderhouden of als ze niet gewenst zijn, kinderen die daarna worden opgevangen in weeshuizen, of in speciale instellingen (voor zogenaamde geestelijke zorg). Als deze kinderen 18 worden zouden ze normaal gesproken op zichzelf kunnen wonen, maar in de praktijk worden bijna al deze kinderen aangemerkt, alsof er ets mis is met ze.

Dat betekent dat ze niet op zichzelf mogen wonen, niet mogen trouwen en vaak de rest van hun leven vastzitten in instituties als psychiatrische instellingen, terwijl er of niets aan de hand is met die kinderen, dan wel dat ze ondanks hun handicap prima op zichzelf kunnen wonen en een ‘normaal bestaan’ kunnen leiden…..

In de instellingen worden deze mensen gedwongen (smerig) werk te doen en een opleiding krijgen ze niet, zoals ze die niet kregen in de weeshuizen……..* Alleen dat laatste is al een ernstige vorm van kindermishandeling………

Volgens de verslaggever Nikki Fox komen deze kinderen en ook de 18 plussers niet of bijna nooit buiten en worden ze aan hun vreselijke lot overgelaten……. Dit is volgens Fox te danken aan de overheersing van de Sovjet-Unie en het beleid dat men destijds instelde voor deze kinderen…… Tja en zo’n systeem verander je niet zomaar in een paar jaar tijd aldus Fox……… ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Een klein beetje geschiedenis kennis ontbreekt Fox duidelijk, anders had ze geweten dat Oekraïne al sinds 1991 onafhankelijk is en dat deze zaak nu minstens voor de derde keer de media haalt…..

Ach, je doet als Oekraïne geen kloten om zaken ten goede te keren, de militaire junta o.l.v. de zwaar corrupte neonazi Porosjenko heeft het land in een paar jaar tijd helemaal leeggeroofd, zodat het land nu zo goed als bankroet is en op de koop toe oorlog voert tegen de burgers in Oost-Oekraïne, die terecht niet wensen te leven onder een door de VS ingestelde dictatuur…… Anders gezegd: burgers die terecht in opstand kwamen tegen de staatsgreep waarmee de door hen democratisch gekozen president Janoekovytsj werd afgezet, burgers die niet wensten (en wensen) te leven onder een zwaar corrupte neonazi-junta die in feite door de VS werd geïnstalleerd……..

Nu heeft de junta van Oekraïne het gore lef te stellen dat er geen geld is voor de hiervoor beschreven kinderen/18 plussers en dat men hoopt op hulp uit het buitenland…… Ongelofelijk als je ziet hoe het geld daar met bakken tegelijk verdwijnt……. Zo kan de junta nog meer geld naar bankrekeningen in het buitenland doorsluizen, waar het al vele honderden miljoenen aan hulp uit de EU heeft gestald…… (o.a, geld van u en mij…..) Overigens schijnt Porosjenko zelfs een bankrekening in Nederland te hebben, wedden dat hij daar een mooie afspraak voor heeft gemaakt met de belastingdienst???

Nee 26 jaar is te kort om een smerig systeem te veranderen, zeker als de regering het land, zoals gezegd, leegrooft, repressie voert tegen niet welgevallige: -pers, -opiniemakers, -politieke partijen en als klap op de vuurpijl burgers bombardeert………..

VS illegaal militair ingrijpen in Niger, ofwel de uitspattingen van een imperium met expansiedrift

Aan het begin van de maand werd bekend gemaakt, dat vier VS militairen zijn omgekomen in Niger. Terwijl de VS bevolking niet op de hoogte was, dat de VS ook in Niger meedoet aan gevechtsmissies……. Een zaak die een democratie onwaardig is…….

Diezelfde VS bevolking had dit overigens kunnen weten, immers de VS is wereldwijd met een fiks aantal geheime missies bezig. Zo zijn er tienduizenden VS militairen ‘werkzaam’ in het buitenland, troepen waar men niet van weet waar ze zich bevinden en wat ze daar toen, zoals in Niger….

Dat laatste klopt niet helemaal, daar de VS al in 2012 zo’n honderd militairen in Niger had en dat was geen geheim, troepen die overigens niet zouden deelnemen aan gevechtsacties. Wel een geheim was het feit dat na de voornoemde dood van vier VS militairen werd geopenbaard dat er intussen zo’n duizend VS militairen in dat land zijn en daar al langer wel degelijk vechten………. Een uitbreiding van troepen en bevoegdheden, die niet in de openbaarheid aan de volksvertegenwoordiging werd bekendgemaakt (alweer: een democratie onwaardig)…..

Daarnaast heeft de VS een drone-basis in Niger*, wat betreft gewoon vliegend oorlogstuig, verlaat de VS zich op Frankrijk dat, deze grootste terreurentiteit op aarde, luchtsteun verleent……..

Niet alleen werd bekend gemaakt dat de VS duizend militairen in Niger heeft, maar dat de militaire basis in Niger een soort van centraal commandocentrum is voor West-Afrika……

Eergisteren meldde ANTIWAR over de reactie van Trump op de dood van één van de hiervoor genoemde vier militairen, La Davis Johnson, nadat zijn vrouw zich in het openbaar afvroeg, waarom haar man moest sterven in een conflict dat bij haar en de rest van het volk niet bekend was………… Daarop is het beest Trump een paar dagen geleden als reactie tekeergegaan tegen die vrouw, waarbij hij haar o.a. liet weten dat haar man had getekend voor dit soort risico’s……… (empathie is nu eenmaal niet aanwezig bij psychopaten, als deze figuren zogenaamd begaan zijn met het één of ander, hebben ze daar zelf belang bij)

The New York Times liet weten dat de VS 240.000 militairen in 172 van de 193 VN lidstaten heeft…… Daarnaast heeft de VS nog eens duizenden militairen in landen waar het illegale oorlogen begon, zoals Afghanistan, Irak en Syrië….. Ook in Oost-Europa heeft de VS een groot aantal militairen, die worden ingezet bij de grootscheepse militaire oefeningen langs de Russische grens, oefeningen waar de reguliere media zo min mogelijk over berichten, neem de laatste militaire oefening waarbij men een nucleaire aanval simuleerde op een ‘fictieve vijand’, lees Rusland…..** Overigens zijn die grootschalige militaire oefeningen een gevaar voor onze veiligheid, immers als je Rusland keer op keer tart, moet je niet opkijken dat e.e.a. misloopt en er een conflict ontstaat dat uitmondt in een (nucleaire) oorlog…….



Verder vecht de VS in Jemen en Somalië, waar gevechtsacties in het laatste land ook al in de openbaarheid kwam door de dood van een militair (de schrijver stelt hetzelfde over Jemen, echter dat de VS daar bezig was met geheime militaire acties was vorig jaar al algemeen bekend, hoewel de reguliere westerse media daar geen aandacht aan besteedden***)….. Dan zijn er nog 38.000 militairen die door het Pentagon als ‘onbekend’ zijn gekwalificeerd…….. (‘onbekend’ waar  ze zijn of wat ze doen >> uiteraard ook geheime militaire acties waarbij de CIA de regie heeft) 

Een land waarvan de bevolking niet weet waar haar regering oorlog voert, kan je geen democratie noemen en dat is de VS dan ook al lang niet meer, de VS is een politiestaat, die zich internationaal gedraagt als een imperium…….

Triest
dat het grootste deel van de politiek en media in Nederland
onmiddellijk achter de VS staan, als die zou vragen om ‘militaire
hulp’ bij hun illegale ingrijpen her en der (om zo enigszins legitimiteit aan hun illegale acties te geven)…….. 

Nogmaals: de VS moet met de grootste spoed voor het Internationaal Strafhof worden gedaagd vanwege de enorme oorlogsmisdaden die dit ‘land’ keer op keer begaat, zodat er eindelijk een eind kan komen aan de ongebreidelde grootschalige terreur die de VS uitoefent waar het haar maar uitkomt en voorkomen kan worden dat de knettergekke psychopaat Trump op ‘de knop’ drukt……

(ANTIWAR.COM) — US officials describing the military operation in Niger, which only became public knowledge earlier this month after four US special forces were killed in an ambush, have not only revealed that nearly 1,000 US troops are on the ground in Niger, a massive force for the tiny country, but that this is the “hub” for US military operations in Western Africa.

Details on what exactly that means are scant, since the Niger military operation was basically a secret, and by extension so are all the other regional operations that we’re not being told about. Officials did assure reporters Niger has the most troops in the region.

Niger has hosted a US drone base for years, and about 100 troops were reported deployed in 2012.

Somewhere between then and now, this increased ten-fold, and those troops started engaging in patrols. African Command says there are no armed US warplanes in West Africa at present, but that they rely on French warplanes.

Though historically where US troops are deployed and how many are supposed to be a matter of public record, there are tens of thousands of US troops listed as deployed overseas but in unspecified areas, doing unspecified things.

US Soldier Died in Niger. What the Hell Are We Even Doing There?

When
our soldiers kill and die in wars we don’t know about and can’t
end, we’re not a democracy anymore.

(COMMONDREAMS Op-ed) In
our military-revering culture, it’s a strange thing for a president
to start a war of words with the grieving families of slain soldiers.

Strange,
yes. But from Donald Trump’s campaign season feud with the parents
of Humayun Khan, who died protecting fellow soldiers in Iraq, to his
recent feud with the mourning widow of La David Johnson, who died on
patrol in Niger, it’s no longer surprising.

At
root in the latest spat is a comment Trump made to La David’s widow
Myeshia Johnson: “He knew what he signed up for.” Myeshia thought
that remark was disrespectful — she later said it “made
me cry.”

Beyond
insensitive, though, there’s a good chance it simply wasn’t true.

Why,
after all, should La David have expected to die in a dusty corner of
Niger — a Saharan country most Americans (and, one suspects, their
president) couldn’t find on a map? And where the U.S. isn’t
actually at war?

If
you were surprised to learn the U.S. has nearly a thousand troops in
Niger, you’re not alone. Senator Lindsey Graham, a South Carolina
Republican who serves on the Armed Forces Committee, told NBC he “had
no idea.” Neither
did Chuck Schumer,
the Senate’s top Democrat.

Well,
the surprises may keep coming.

The
New York Times notes that
the U.S. now has “over 240,000 active-duty and reserve troops
in at least 172 countries and territories.” Count it again: 172
countries,
out of 193 UN member states.

Most
of us remain at least dimly aware that we still have thousands of
troops in war zones like Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as in Cold War
outposts like Japan, South Korea, and Germany. But what about the
160-plus others? And where are the nearly 38,000 troops whose
location the Pentagon lists as “unknown”?

We
catch an occasional glimpse of this global footprint when a U.S.
service member dies someplace surprising — as Ryan
Owens did
earlier this year in Yemen, and a
Navy SEAL did
several months later in Somalia. More rarely we catch darker
reminders still, when our wars abroad come home in the form of
terrorist attacks. But mostly the American people remain every bit as
in the dark as Graham and Schumer.

Americans
like to imagine ourselves as citizens of a democracy that rejects the
colonial ambitions of Old

World powers
like France and the UK. And yet we’ve deployed troops to literally
most of the planet, and our leading lawmakers — tasked by the
Constitution with the exclusive right to declare war — don’t even
know about it.


Worse
still, Congress appears to be abetting its own irrelevance.

Earlier
this year, House Speaker Paul Ryan quietly
killed an amendment by
Democrat Barbara Lee that would’ve revoked Congress’ post-9/11
Authorization of Military Force, which has been used as a fig leaf of
legality for this global war making. And last month the Senate voted
2:1 to reject an amendment from
Republican Rand Paul that would’ve done the same.

Odds
are, the real victims from our post-9/11 wars live in countries we
seldom see or hear about. But as veteran and Army strategist Danny
Sjursen writes,
“the potential, and all too pervasive, deaths of American service
members demand a public hearing” too. Especially when 16-plus years
of war doesn’t appear to have made the world any safer.

When
our soldiers kill and die in fruitless wars we don’t know about and
can’t end, we’re not a democracy anymore — we’re an empire.
And perhaps a fading one at that.

Ongelofelijk maar waar, de reguliere media in de VS zijn trots op het platbombarderen van de Syrische stad Raqqa door de luchtmacht van de VS…… Ondanks oproepen van de VN te stoppen met bombarderen van de stad om burgerslachtoffers te voorkomen, ging de VS gewoon door met haar ‘tapijtbombardementen’ op Raqqa, zoals de VS dat eerder deed met West-Mosul en in een verder verleden: Noord-Vietnam, Laos en Cambodja en nog verder terug op Duitse steden ten tijde van WOII……. Intussen zijn volgens voorzichtige schattingen 1.800 burgers vermoord in de illegale oorlog van de VS tegen Raqqa…….

Let wel: de VS is illegaal aanwezig in Syrië en voert in feite een illegale oorlog tegen het democratisch gekozen bewind Assad en de Syrische bevolking, een oorlog die deze grootste terreurentiteit op aarde al voorbereidde vanaf 2006……..

Dit alles zal de voornoemde media een zorg zijn, de VS heeft ingegrepen en laten zien wat er gebeurt als je de VS tart en zogenaamd een gevaar bent voor de VS……. Alsof de regering Assad en IS een direct gevaar zijn voor de VS….. Eén ding is zeker, met het platbombarderen van Raqqa heeft de VS terreurgroepen als IS niet uitgeschakeld, integendeel, de VS stimuleert terrorisme met haar terroristische buitenlandbeleid….. Al is dat natuurlijk ook de bedoeling, ofwel de geheime agenda: de winsten van het militair-industrieel complex varen er wel bij zoals een aantal weken terug bleek, toen werd bekendgemaakt dat de wapenindustrie in 2016 absolute recordwinsten heeft gemaakt………

Zoals al vaker vastgesteld op deze plek, de VS moet eindelijk eens worden aangeklaagd bij het Internationaal Strafhof (ICC) in Den Haag voor al haar vreselijke oorlogsmisdaden, waar het platbombarderen van Raqqa maar één onderdeel van is……..

Opvallend dat de reguliere westerse media buiten de VS het platbombarderen van Raqqa niet eens noemen………. Ach ‘opvallend?’ Het maakt niet uit wat de VS doet, zelfs voor het bombarderen van ziekenhuizen is of geen aandacht, of men vergoelijkt e.e.a. door een niet bestaand excuus te verzinnen…..

(ANTIMEDIA) — America’s illegal
war in
the Syrian city of Raqqa has already killed over 1,800
civilians, according to
the monitoring group Airwars. At the time the offensive was launched
in June, the U.S. was
aware that
some 200,000 civilians were trapped. In that first week of operations
alone, the U.N. accused the
Trump administration of killing 300 civilians in less than seven
days’ worth of bombing.

This
trend has continued over the course of the last few months, and as
one might imagine, Syrian infrastructure has been completely
decimated. Rather than label this assault for what it is — namely,
a grave crime against humanity encompassing an endless supply of
potential war crimes — the media appears to have chosen a different
tack.

“Looking
at photographs of the ruined, desolate streets of what was once the
Islamic State’s capital of Raqqa is a reminder of the overwhelming,
pitilessly effective military power of the United
States,” wrote the Washington
Post’s David
Ignatius in an op-ed published Thursday.

That
was merely the opening sentence. Ignatius continued:

“The
heaps of rubble in Raqqa that once housed terrorists and torturers
convey a bedrock lesson, as valid now as in 1945: It’s
a mistake to provoke the United States. It
may take the country a while to respond to a threat, but once the
machine of U.S. power is engaged, it’s relentless — so long as
the political will exists to sustain it.” [emphasis
added]

Who
exactly provoked the United States here? The people who have been
hardest hit are clearly civilians who happened to live in Raqqa. What
crime did these people commit?

And
if Ignatius is referring solely to the terror group ISIS, at what
stage did ISIS “provoke” the U.S.? If anything, ISIS was quite
content trying to topple the governments of Iraq and Syria and set up
their own Islamic caliphate back in 2014. That is why the Syrian
government has been so heavily
involved in
fighting ISIS over the last few years: ISIS directly threatens its
territory. Somehow, the U.S. found itself embroiled in yet another
Middle Eastern conflict that didn’t directly affect the U.S.
government or its people.

Nevertheless,
Russia used this opportunity to turn the tables against the U.S.
after western media lambasted Russia’s
assault on Aleppo at the end of last year. On
Sunday, Russia accused the
U.S.-led coalition in Syria of wiping the city of Raqqa “off the
face of the earth” with carpet bombing similar to what the United
States and Britain did to Germany in 1945.

However,
unlike the U.S., Russia had a legal
basis to
begin its military operations within the country, whether or not it
committed war crimes in the process.

David
Ignatius is right about one thing and one thing only – the media is
almost all but silent on what is going on in Raqqa. However, Ignatius
wrongly attributes this to the “inevitable nature of American
force” that has prompted so little discussion. In reality, it’s
likely this topic isn’t being discussed because of the numerous
illegalities surrounding it.

The
people of Raqqa won’t forget what the U.S. has illegally done to
their homes. In July, one witness told Reuters he
found several of his neighbors dead on the street. Cats were eating
their bodies. It later emerged that
American-led airstrikes were wiping out entire families. This is not
how you defeat terrorism. This is how you perpetuate it.

Corporate
media would do well to separate itself from this violent and
grotesque criminal behavior, yet it continues to endorse it.
If RT released
op-eds that glorified Russian crimes to the extent that western media
is doing right now, the Washington
Post would
have a field day.

This
is not the hallmark of an independent press, but rather, one that
serves horrifyingly violent policies. An independent media would
question both Russia’s and America’s roles in the Middle East,
objectively distinguish between the two, and demand both entities be
held accountable for failing to protect civilians when that evidence
arises.

All
that being said, Airwars has more
or less put its monitoring of
Russian airstrikes on hold this year as the U.S. has continued to
surpass Russia in its civilian death toll by a long shot.

Ontving afgelopen maandag een artikel op Anti-Media, oorspronkelijk van Zero Hedge, waarin wordt aangetoond dat Saoedi-Arabië met medeweten van de VS, de ‘gematigde rebellen’* aanstuurt en dat al vanaf het begin van de strijd, die tot nu toe meer dan een half miljoen slachtoffers heeft geeeist……..

Oké het is in feite geen nieuws, daar ook uit o.a. documenten op Wikileaks al bleek dat de VS op de hoogte was van deze aansturing…… Sterker nog: zelfs de VS heeft terreurgroep IS van wapens voorzien en vervoerde o.a. leden van deze terreurgroep van Libië naar Syrië, om daar te vechten tegen het bewind en de bevolking…….

Ook is al langer bekend, dat S-A alle terreurgroepen in Syrië (behalve IS**), van geld en wapens voorziet…..

Ondanks dat en zoals al vaker op deze plek gesteld: hoe meer bewijs, hoe beter!

In het Zero Hegde artikel aandacht voor een aanval van het ‘Vrije Syrische Leger’ (Free Syrian Army >> FSA) op burgerdoelen in Damascus. De Saoedische prins Salman bin Sultan gaf deze terreurgroep opdracht om het vliegveld van Damascus plat te gooien en de stad te doen oplichten (met explosies van raketaanvallen). Bij die aanval is een groot aantal burgers omgekomen en hoewel de VS een paar dagen van te voren op de hoogte was van deze enorme oorlogsmisdaad, heeft het daar geen actie op ondernomen…….

Jammer dat ook in dit artikel het Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) wordt genoemd. Dit orgaan, gesitueerd in Engeland, bestond aanvankelijk uit 1 man, een gewezen misdadiger die Syrië ontvluchtte om veroordeling wegens begane misdaden te voorkomen…… Het SOHR heeft aantoonbaar een groot aantal valse berichten de wereld ingestuurd….. Ondanks dat omarmen het grootste deel van de westerse politici en de reguliere westerse (massa-) media dit orgaan, daar het zich verzet tegen de regering Assad, dat is tegenwoordig blijkbaar genoeg om alle leugens in ‘westerse waarheid’ om te toveren……

NSA Memo Proves Syrian Rebels Were Directed by Saudis — and the US
Knew

Intercept has just
released a new top-secret NSA document unearthed
from leaked intelligence files provided by Edward Snowden which
reveals in stunning clarity that the
armed opposition in Syria was under the direct command of foreign
governments from the early years of the war which
has now claimed half a million lives.

The
US intelligence memo – marked “Top Secret” – is
arguably the most damning piece of evidence to date which gives
internal US government confirmation of the direct role that both the
Saudi and US governments played in
fueling an armed insurgency which launched massive and
well-coordinated attacks
on civilians, civilian infrastructure, as well as military targets in
pursuit of regime change. The
NSA report is sourced to the intelligence agency’s
controversial PRISM
program –
which
gives the NSA the ability to sweep up all communications and data
exchanged through major US internet service providers like Google.
The memo focuses on events that unfolded outside Damascus in March of
2013.

One
of the videos that Saudi-backed FSA fighters uploaded to YouTube
identified by The Intercept as showing rockets launched on civilian
areas of Damascus on March 18, 2013. US intelligence knew of the
secret operation three days in advance yet did not stop it.  

According
to the document, the
Free Syrian Army (FSA) was ordered
to “light up Damascus” and “flatten” the Syrian capital’s
international airport by Prince Salman bin Sultan –
a prominent member of the Saudi royal family tasked with overseeing
operations in Syria as a top Saudi intelligence officer. The document
further reveals that the “Saudis sent 120 tons of
explosives/weapons to opposition forces” – presumably in the lead
up to the operation.

The
report not only confirms that the assault happened, but that the
Saudi government was “very pleased” with
the outcome: “Attacks
against airport, Presidential palace and other locations occurred on
18 March,”
the memo reads. Also significant is that the
memo confirms US intelligence foreknowledge of the attack on a major
civilian airport: “Reports
gave U.S. three days warning about 18 March 2013 attacks (2 year
anniversary of revolution).”

According
to The
Intercept,
various news reports from the time confirmed significant attacks and
damage from FSA-fired rockets upon civilian areas. Not only is
Damascus International Airport Syria’s main civilian transport hub
– which was used by millions each year before the war – but it
remained in daily
operation for commercial flights in March 2013,
when Saudi intelligence ordered the attacks with knowledge of US
intelligence.

As
The Intercept reports:

A
number of videos posted by Syrian opposition media on the day of the
attacks purport to show rebel fighters firing
rockets at
the same sites mentioned in the U.S. document. The March 2013 attacks
in Damascus provide a concrete example of the role that foreign
powers played in the day-to-day reality of the conflict. A number of

that day described an attack in which rockets struck within the areas
of the presidential palace, a local government security branch, and

unable to confirm whether they resulted in casualties.

However,
The Intercept’s commentary is inaccurate
in claiming that the Syrian Observatory (SOHR) did not report
casualties from the attack as
one of the Arabic
news sources it links to above (Middle East based Alwatan News),
reports:

“The
Free Syrian Army targeted Kafr Sousa [an area of Damascus near
Mezzeh] and they fired 24 missiles on Damascus airport… 60
people died in yesterday’s attacks,
according to the Syrian Observatory.” [as
translated by Zero Hedge]

And
intense attacks continued through April and into the summer of 2013
according to international media reports from the time, also
confirmed by a photo
circulated through the AFP*** showing
civilian passengers waiting in airport lounges the month following
the initial March 2013 rocket attacks.

While
the Saudi-US role in fueling
the jihadist insurgency from
the earliest days of the war in Syria has long been thoroughly
documented,
this latest leaked NSA bombshell report provides astoundingly
clear proof that the relationship between the anti-Assad insurgents
and foreign intelligence was even more direct, and existed earlier in
time than
most analyst and mainstream pundits led the public to believe.

NAVO oefent op een nucleaire aanval tegen ‘een denkbeeldige vijand’, ofwel Rusland……….

DE NAVO is van 16 t/m 27 oktober bezig met een grootscheepse oefening in een aanval met nucleaire wapens tegen Rusland…….. Deze oefening heet ‘Steadfast Noon’ (ha! ha! ha!) en schijnt volgens ‘deskundigen’ eigenlijk elk jaar te worden gehouden……. Nooit van gehoord, dergelijke agressieve oefeningen, waarin het westen zich voorbereid op de vernietiging van de aarde zoals wij die kennen…….

Men zou dit jaar weinig aandacht aan deze oefening hebben willen geven, vanwege de te verwachten tegenstand van de bevolking aldus de Wall Street Journal……. De bevolking in de VS mag blij zijn, dat ze er nog iets over horen, hier kwam ik het toevallig op een buitenlandse site tegen en als ik me niet vergis op het blog van Stan van Houcke…… Ach ja, dergelijk nieuws past niet in de belachelijke pogingen om zoveel mogelijk positief nieuws te brengen, tja dan moet je mensen niet ongerust maken over dergelijke schandalige provocaties van de VS en haar oorlogshond NAVO aan het adres van Rusland……. (overigens doen ook Nederlandse F16’s mee aan deze waanzinnige oefening…..) En dan maar zeuren over het veel te kleine budget voor het zwaar geld verspillende ministerie van defensie, uh ik bedoel van nucleaire oorlog……

Trouwens die F16’s vielen toch met bossen uit de lucht? Daarvoor moesten we toch de peperdure JSF aanschaffen? De JSF een straalvliegtuig dat de aanduiding  ‘straaljager’ niet mag dragen, vanwege de vele tekortkomingen t.o.v. echte moderne straaljagers, het onding kan zich nog net met de A-10 Thunderbolt straaljager uit de 70er jaren meten……. Dit tegen een prijs van meer dan 4,5 miljard euro aan belastinggeld…….

In het eerste artikel van ‘EIR’ onder dit schrijven heeft men nog enigszins kritiek op deze oefening, hoewel daar onterecht kritiek wordt geuit op de Russische oefening Zapad 2017. Het artikel daaronder van The DRIVE is pas echt onvervalste oorlogshitserij en één grote lobby voor de VS, de NAVO en het militair-industrieel complex, kortom een berg leugens waar je koud van wordt……… Rusland is de kwaaie pier die ongelofelijk agressief tekeergaat in Oost-Europa……. ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Terwijl de NAVO de ene grootschalige militaire oefening na de andere houdt langs de Russische grens, een grens waar de NAVO, een agressieve oorlogszuchtige organisatie, ver van weg had moeten blijven, dit volgens de afspraak die in 1991 werd gesloten met de Russische (Sovjet) president Gorbatsjov……

De VS heeft een opstand en een coup gekocht (met 4,5 miljard dollar!!) en mogelijk gemaakt in Oekraïne, maar Rusland is agressief bezig…….. De VS en de EU vinden het prima dat een neonazi-junta o.l.v. de enorm corrupte Porosjenko de inwoners van Oost-Oekraïne belaagt met neonazi-bataljons, maar Rusland is agressief bezig…….. Als je de westerse reguliere media en het overgrote deel van de westerse politici hoort, zou Rusland haar leger hebben samengetrokken in Oost-Oekraïne….. ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Als Rusland zich daar werkelijk had opgehouden en gevochten, waren de neonazi’s, inclusief de Porosjenko kliek allang het land uit gelazerd door de Russen!!

Nee. de VS is een geweldig land dat deze eeuw: -‘nog maar’ 4 illegale oorlogen is begonnen, -minstens 3 coups heeft georganiseerd en geregisseerd, -een onbekend aantal geheime (militaire) CIA missies heeft uitgevoerd in het buitenland, -een enorm aantal mensen standrechtelijk geëxecuteerd middels drones, waarbij voor meer dan 90% niet eens verdachte mensen, dus vooral vrouwen en kinderen, werden vermoord…. en tot slot -bijvoorbeeld een land als Venezuela financieel naar de knoppen heeft geholpen, d.m.v. een smerige economische oorlog (= zware terreur!!)……. In totaal heeft de VS (met NAVO hulp) deze eeuw al meer dan 2 miljoen mensen vermoord……… Ondanks dat Rusland dit soort enorme misdaden niet heeft begaan en qua doden zelfs niet in de schaduw kan staan van de VS, wordt Rusland als agressief aangewezen…… ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha!

Terug naar de nucleaire militaire oefening: vergeet daarbij niet, dat de VS vorig jaar heeft aangekondigd, dat het kernwapens niet langer als een afschrikkingswapen ziet, maar als een wapen waarmee een eerste aanval moet kunnen worden uitgevoerd…… Nadat hare kwaadaardigheid May medio vorig jaar aan het bewind kwam in Groot-Brittannië, stelde zij hetzelfde……… Daar was uiteraard amper aandacht voor in de reguliere westerse media en bij de neoliberale westerse politici*, maar toen Rusland een paar maanden na May als reactie hetzelfde durfde te zeggen, leek het wel of de doos van Pandora was opengetrokken, niet door de VS en GB, maar door Rusland, de media en politici gingen tekeer alsof Armageddon was aangebroken…..

Daarover gesproken: in het tweede artikel ook aandacht voor de Russische oefening Zapad 2017, die NB eens in de 4 jaar wordt gehouden. Voorafgaand aan die oefening sloegen de voornoemde media en politici op tilt. Deze oefening zou namelijk de opmaat zijn naar een Russische aanval op Oostelijk deel van de EU……. ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! NATO Conducts Nuclear Military Exercise in Semi-Secrecy

Oct. 18, 2017 (EIRNS)—NATO has begun its annual nuclear exercise, “Steadfast Noon,” if not in secret, certainly with a very low profile, since it was not loudly announced as NATO exercises usually are. The exercise began yesterday at the Kleine Brogel air base in Belgium and the Buchel air base in Germany, two of about a half-dozen air bases in Europe where the U.S. stores 150-200 B-61 nuclear bombs. During the exercise, crews with Belgian F-16s and German Tornados, and likely also from the U.S. and Italy, will practice conducting nuclear missions. Polish F-16s and Czech Air Force Gripens are also thought to be participating in support roles.

The low profile of the exercise, explains the Wall Street Journal, is that NATO’s nuclear drills are sensitive, due to the domestic politics of a number of participating countries. A NATO official told the Journal that nuclear exercises remain a “delicate balancing act among allies,” with some countries uncomfortable with public discussions and others wanting acknowledgment of the deterrent’s importance. The official said continuing these annual preparations are vital, especially as geopolitical concerns increase.

Hans Kristensen, the director of the Nuclear Information Project at the Federation of American Scientists, in a blog posting yesterday, notes NATO’s hypocrisy in refusing to openly acknowledge Steadfast Noon.

“The secrecy of the exercise is interesting because NATO only a few weeks ago complained that Russia was not being transparent about its Zapad exercise,” Kristensen writes. “Seems like both sides could do better.”

NATO
has quietly begun an annual exercise to practice how it might launch
a nuclear attack during
a crisis. The drills follow massive Russian war games along its
borders with the alliance, including a test of new nuclear
intercontinental ballistic missile,
as well as increasing reports
of electronic and cyber
attacks likely
originating in Russia.

On
Oct. 16, 2017, NATO personnel in Belgium and Germany kicked off this
latest iteration of the alliance’s main nuclear deterrence
exercise, nicknamed Steadfast Noon. Publicly available U.S. military
documents describe its main goal simply as “operations plan
validation.” This year’s iteration involves operations at Kleine
Brogel Air Base in Belgium and Büchel Air Base in Germany, where the
United States maintains stores
of B61 nuclear bombs.

The
North Atlantic bloc rarely highlights the event and generally omits
it from publicly available lists of upcoming exercises. The drills
involve an entirely “fictional scenario,” one anonymous NATO
official told The
Wall Street Journal.

It’s
hard not to see the exercise in the context of the Kremlin’s
increasingly revanchist foreign policy, though. Since Russian troops
seized control Ukraine’s Crimea region in 2014 and subsequently
began actively supporting separatists seeking to break away from the
central government in Kiev, NATO has adopted an increasingly more
militarized posture along its eastern and southern frontiers. A
proposed drawdown of American nuclear weapons on the continent has
effectively been
on indefinite hold ever
since.

In
September 2017, approximately 13,000 troops from Russia and Belarus,
conducted drills along the same borders as part of the
Zapad 2017 exercise.
Zapad, which means “West,” occurs once every four years.
Officials in Moscow insist it is defensive in nature, but it focuses
on large scale, high intensity warfare, something that sounds a lot
like practicing for a conflict with the western alliance.

In
addition, the Russians followed up the massive conventional
demonstration with a show of nuclear force, including
intercontinental ballistic missile tests by its Strategic Missile
Forces. One of these involved a weapon with an all-new
warhead design that
seems intended to defeat ballistic missile shields such as the one
the NATO is presently developing. Though experts debate how serious
the danger is,
there is a real concern that the Kremlin has adopted a doctrine of
“escalating
to de-escalate,”
as well, which could involve a limited nuclear strike, further
underscoring the continued importance of deterrence.

On
top of that, there have also been an increasing number of reported
incidents of electronic
and cyber harassment against
alliance members and their other European partners. These almost
certainly originate in Russia and highlight the tense nature of the
situation despite the lack of any active conflict.

We
don’t know what exactly goes into the actual Steadfast Noon drills,
regardless of whether the scenario is focused on Russian threats or
not, but the main goal is undoubtedly to run through what can only be
heavily regimented procedures. Since the end of the Cold War, the
United States has kept B61 nuclear gravity bombs at bases such as
Kleine Brogel Air Base in Belgium and Büchel Air Base in Germany.

There
are approximately 150 to 200 of the weapons spread out between those
bases, as well as additional locations in Italy, the Netherlands, and
Turkey, with the latter location becoming
increasingly controversial.

The
bombs are technically “tactical nuclear weapons,” though experts
and advocates routinely
debate the validity
of this term and
whether any nuclear weapon can be seen as a limited, tactical tool.
Crews can set the tactical versions of the so-called “dial-a-yield”
B61 to
explode with the force of anywhere from 0.3 to 170 kilotons of TNT,
that upper limit being more than eight times more powerful than
the Fat
Man bomb the
United States dropped on Nagasaki in 1945. The United States is
presently working on a new B61
Mod 12 version that
will be a dual-purpose, tactical and strategic design that
incorporates a GPS guidance system and a deep penetrating design.

As
well as keeping those weapons forward deployed, the U.S. government
maintained agreements with all of the hosts, save Turkey, to
potentially share those bombs in an emergency. After an American
commander released the weapons to those countries, Belgian and Dutch
F-16 fighter jets and German and Italian Tornado multi-role combat
aircraft – described as “dual-capable” conventional and nuclear
aircraft for treaty purposes – would deliver them onto the
specified targets. There are no American aircraft stationed at either
Kleine Brogel or Büchel.

For
the alliance to conduct a nuclear attack, American personnel at these
bases would need to receive and input the appropriate codes into the
B61’s Permissive
Action Link,
a fail-safe device to prevent unauthorized use, before then signing
control of the weapons over to European crews. A simultaneous
authorization from the host country’s government is reportedly
necessary, too.

exercise likely has conventional components, as well, since any
nuclear-armed jets speeding toward their targets could need to refuel
on the way to and from their targets. Since the present European
dual-capable aircraft aren’t low-observable in design, other
elements would need to clear the way first, which could include
physically destroying enemy air defenses or launching coordinated
electronic or cyber attacks to disrupt those networks. NATO even has
a specific term for the aerial companion missions, SNOWCAT,
or Support of Nuclear Operations With Conventional Air Tactics.

But
the lack of fanfare surrounding Steadfast Noon, which by all accounts
should be a very visible signal to potential enemies, highlights the
alliance’s complicated relations with nuclear weapons. NATO has
long had to tempter its clear desire to present a strong deterrent to
potential opponents, especially an increasingly aggressive Russia,
with consistent domestic political and public opposition to the
presence of nuclear weapons in much of Europe.**

Via het blog van Stan van Houcke kreeg ik een artikel over de Venezolaanse regionale verkiezingen onder ogen. Dit artikel, van Nino Pagliccia, op Global Research, wijst op het feit dat deze verkiezingen een overwinning zijn voor de Venezolaanse president Maduro (ondanks het verlies van een paar districten).

De partij van Maduro, die samenwerkt in een coalitie met meerdere partijen, de ‘Gran Polo Patriotico’ (GPP) won 17 van de 23 districten in Venezuela en dat in door internationale waarnemers als eerlijk en democratische verlopen verkiezingen*.

Ondanks de economische oorlog die de grootste terreurentiteit op aarde, de VS al jaren voert tegen Venezuela**, ondanks de door de VS georganiseerde uiterst gewelddadige opstanden, ondanks de anti-Venezolaanse propaganda van de westerse reguliere (massa-) media en het grootste deel van de westerse politici, won de GPP van o.a. Maduro. Uiteraard werd deze uitslag niet verwacht en al voor de laatste resultaten bekend werden gemaakt, begonnen de eerder genoemde media en politici te blazen over oneerlijke en gestoken verkiezingen…….

Je zal begrijpen, dat deze media en politici met geen woord repten over de internationale waarnemers en hun conclusie, immers deze paste niet in het straatje van dit geteisem…..

Opperhufter Lubach vond het zelfs wel kies om na deze verkiezingen in Venezuela een belachelijk ‘protestlied’ ten gehore te brengen in zijn flutprogramma…….. Ook de NRC had geen goed woord over voor deze verkiezingen en publiceerde een hele berg leugens in haar neoliberale, afhankelijke prutsblad, uiteraard zonder de internationale waarnemers te noemen…… Voorts durfde de NRC het wel aan om alle geweld tijdens demonstraties in Venezuela in de schoenen van Maduro te schuiven, terwijl er stapels bewijzen liggen, dat de demonstranten van meet af aan uiterst gewelddadig waren en niet zelden uit het buitenland kwamen*** (o.a. ingehuurd door de CIA…)

In
one day, on October 15, Venezuela has achieved several outstanding
landmarks in our region at a time when we face dangerous world
conflicts and unrest. By carrying out fair elections for governors of
the 23 states, Venezuela has shown that people value the opportunity
to participate in decision-making even under hard circumstances.

The
Gran Polo Patriotico (Great Patriotic Pole), a coalition of ten
parties, including the governing United Socialist Party of Venezuela
(Partido Socialista Unido de Venezuela – PSUV), and the Communist
Party of Venezuela (PCV), have won 17 governorships and lost 5 to the
coalition Democratic Unity Roundtable (Mesa de la Unidad Democratica
– MUD) (One State still pending at the time of writing).

This
represents winning a significant battle, but the war may still be
brewing.

The
significance of this victory lies in the different fronts in which
Venezuela has established a clear claim.

On
the democratic front 64% of the voters who participated in the
elections have made an implicit statement that there is no
dictatorship in Venezuela, contrary to the propaganda of Western
right wing corporate media. In fact, there has been no shortage of
elections in Venezuela. This has been the 22nd free, secret ballot in
the last 18 years, including a failed referendum to revoke Hugo
Chavez from
the presidency in 2004.

This
display of building democracy flies in the face of the recent action
of the OAS Secretary General, Luis
Almagro,
who staged a swearing in ceremony in Washington, DC of a “supreme
court” whose members are Venezuelans opposing the Maduro government
who have left the country. This is a fragrant illegitimate,
anti-democratic interference in internal affairs of Venezuela. Luis
Almagro has no shame to show his personal antipathy for Nicolas
Maduro but
he should be ashamed to involve the organization he represents.


This
victory for democracy in Venezuela has been succinctly expressed by
Bolivian President, Evo
Morales,
who posted a tweet that said,

“Democracy
has won over intervention and conspiracy. The people defend their
sovereignty and dignity.”

The
second front where this election can claim a victory is likely the
most welcome: Desire of people to live in peace. The large turn out
of voters is both a testimonial to fearless defiance and a statement
of aspiration for a country at peace. Around 10 million Venezuelans
have agreed to engage in this electoral dialogue in the understanding
that violence cannot be a bargaining chip.

Telesur
reported the president of the National Constituent Assembly, Delcy
Rodriguez praising
the Venezuelan people for going to the polls and ratifying their
desire to live in peace.

“This
was an election convened by the National Constituent Assembly and we
were not mistaken,” said Rodriguez. “This election has allowed us
to consolidate the peace and to defend (our) sovereignty.”

The
victory of Chavismo on the political front is perhaps the most
tangible for political analysts. Despite the economic hardship in
Venezuela caused by harsh US sanctions, despite negative media
propaganda, and despite months of street violence triggered by the
opposition that caused 126 deaths, Venezuelans are still putting
their trust in support of the governing party, the PSUV, with a 54%
overall popular vote. Considering that the PSUV is a party openly
anti-imperialist that fiercely advocates for independence and
sovereignty, the vote signals a rejection of any direct intervention
by the United States. Evo
Morales rightly
interpreted this sentiment in his tweet,

“the
people triumphed over the empire. Luis Almagro lost with his boss
Trump.”

The
opposition MUD has not performed badly if we take into account that
they gained two more states compared to the three they had in the
2012 elections. (States gained by the opposition in the 2017
elections: Anzoategui, Merida, Nueva Esparta, Tachira and Zulia)

However,
early indications suggest that the opposition will not respect the
democratic process in the days to come, will reject the offer of
peace and dialogue, and will not recognize the elections results. In
fact, they have already called for a recount and at the same time for
“street actions” in protest.

In
a true democracy differences in state politics is not a ground for
revolt, but the continued belligerent attitude of the opposition MUD
is dangerously fueled by the US, Canada and increasingly by the EU.
This is precisely the kind of interference that Venezuela does not
need and the Bolivarian Revolution is fighting back. Under these
circumstances, the opposition cannot be trusted and nobody can lower
the guard.

For
now, we join all Venezuelans in a vigilant celebration for their
victory for democracy over violence.

Israel
heeft laten weten, nadat een paar mortiergranaten neerkwamen in de
door haar illegaal bezette Golanhoogten, haar aanvallen op het
reguliere Syrische leger uit te breiden…..

Het
was al geen geheim dat Israël een afspraak had met
terreurgroepen aan de andere kant van de grens, waarbij afgeschoten
mortiergranaten, het sein waren voor Israël het Syrische leger aan te vallen.
Deze mortiergranaten werden dan inderdaad op de Golanhoogten
afgevuurd, op een gebied waar verder geen schade kon worden
aangericht, zoals gezegd het sein aan Israël om hulp tegen de Syrische
troepen…….

Voorts
heeft Israël al relatief kort nadat de strijd van het Syrische leger tegen ‘de gematigde rebellen’* bezig is, gewonde
terroristen opgelapt op de Golanhoogten, waarna ze hun strijd tegen
Assad en het Syrische volk konden voortzetten…….

Uiteraard zal er door westerse regeringen en al helemaal niet door de VS, protest worden aangetekend tegen deze opzichtige leugen, die Israël het ‘recht’ zou moeten geven, illegale oorlogshandelingen (oorlogsmisdaden) te verrichten………

Says It Will Intensify Attacks Against Syrian Military Targets

(ANTIWAR.COM) — Claiming
more stray artillery fire landing inside the Israeli-occupied Golan
Heights, Israeli officials are promising to “step up” their
strikes against
Syrian military targets in response,
including attacks over the weekend in southern Syria.

Throughout
the Syrian War, Israel has repeatedly attacked Syrian military
targets. Syria has insisted that cross-border stray shells weren’t
fired by them ion the first place, accusing
Israel of “framing” them to justify the attacks.

Israel
doesn’t appear to really deny that, saying they don’t bother to
try to figure out who fired anything that crosses into their occupied
territory, and that they consider the Syrian military responsible for
everything. This works quite well, as Israeli politicians have been
very public about preferring a rebel victory, even
an ISIS victory, in
Syria.

Syria’s
Foreign Ministry has
urged the UN to rebuke Israel over the attacks,
saying they are violations of the UN Charter. They have further
warned continued Israeli attacks would have “grave consequences.”

De VS
op nucleair oorlogspad: B52 nucleaire bommenwerpers, voor ‘t eerst in 26
jaar, klok rond inzetbaar……….

Om de
wereld nog eens te laten zien, dat de VS schijt heeft aan vrede en alle
ontwapeningsverdragen, vooral die voor nucleaire wapens*, heeft
het Pentagon na 26 jaar, met instemming van het 666 beest Trump, besloten met
atoomwapens geladen B52 bommenwerpers weer de klokrond ‘gemobiliseerd’ te houden……..

Als
reden geeft het Pentagon onder meer aan dat het nu eenmaal een
gevaarlijke wereld is…… ha! ha! ha! ha!ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Inderdaad
het is een gevaarlijke wereld en daar is maar een ‘land’

The First Time In 26 Years, US To Put Nuclear Bombers On 24 Hour

The
unexpected decision by President Trump to amend
an emergency Sept 11 order signed by
George W Bush, allowing the Air Force to recall up to 1,000 retired
air force pilots to address what the Pentagon has decribed as “an
acute shortage of pilots” caught us by surprise. After all, this
was the first time we have heard of this particular labor shortage –
perhaps there was more to this executive order than meets the eye.
Indeed, a just released report may help explain the reasoning behind
this presidential decision.

According
to Defense
One, the
US Air Force is preparing to put nuclear-armed bombers back on
24-hour ready alert, a status not seen since the Cold War ended in
1991.

That
means the long-dormant concrete pads at the ends of Barksdale Air
Force Base’s 11,000-foot runway — dubbed the “Christmas tree”
for their angular markings — could once again find several B-52s
parked on them, laden with nuclear weapons and set to take off at a
moment’s notice.

“This
is yet one more step in ensuring that we’re prepared,” Gen.
David Goldfein, Air Force chief of staff, told the publication in an
interview during his six-day tour of Barksdale and other U.S. Air
Force bases that support the nuclear mission. “I
look at it more as not planning for any specific event, but more for
the reality of the global situation we find ourselves in and how we
ensure we’re prepared going forward.”

Quoted
by Defense One, Goldfein and other senior defense officials stressed
that the alert order had not been given, but that preparations were
under way in anticipation that it might come. That decision would be
made by Gen. John Hyten, the commander of U.S. Strategic Command, or
Gen. Lori Robinson, the head of U.S. Northern Command. STRATCOM is in
charge of the military’s nuclear forces and NORTHCOM is in charge
of defending North America.

Putting
the B-52s back on alert is just one of many decisions facing the Air
Force as the U.S. military responds to a changing geopolitical
environment that includes North Korea’s rapidly advancing nuclear
arsenal, President Trump’s confrontational approach to Pyongyang,
and Russia’s increasingly potent and active armed forces.

Goldfein,
who is the Air Force’s top officer and a member of the Joint Chiefs
of Staff, is
asking his force to think about new ways that nuclear weapons could
be used for deterrence, or even combat.

Quoted
by Def One, he said that “the world is a dangerous place and we’ve
got folks that are talking openly about use of nuclear weapons. It’s
no longer a bipolar world where it’s just us and the Soviet
Union. We’ve
got other players out there who have nuclear capability. It’s never
been more important to make sure that we get this mission
right.” During
his trip across the country last week, Goldfein encouraged airmen to
think beyond Cold War uses for ICBMs, bombers and nuclear cruise
missiles.

“I’ve
challenged…Air Force Global Strike Command to help lead the dialog,
help with this discussion about ‘What does conventional conflict
look like with a nuclear element?’ and ‘Do we respond as a global
force if that were to occur?’ and ‘What are the options?’” he
said. “How do we think about it — how do we think about
deterrence in that environment?”


Asked
if placing B-52s back on alert — as they were for decades — would
help with deterrence, Goldfein said it’s hard to say.

“Really
it depends on who, what kind of behavior are we talking about, and
whether they’re paying attention to our readiness status,” he
said.

Meanwhile,
various improvements have already been made to prepare Barksdale —
home to the 2d Bomb Wing and Air Force Global Strike Command, which
oversees the service’s nuclear forces — to
return B-52s to an alert posture. Near
the alert pads, an old concrete building — where B-52 crews during
the Cold War would sleep, ready to run to their aircraft and take off
at a moment’s notice — is being renovated.

Inside,
beds are being installed for more than 100 crew members, more than
enough room for the crews that would man bombers positioned on the
nine alert pads outside. There’s a recreation room, with a pool
table, TVs and a shuffleboard table. Large paintings of the patches
for each squadron at Barksdale adorn the walls of a large stairway.

One
painting — a symbol of the Cold War — depicts a silhouette of a
B-52 with the words “Peace The Old Fashioned Way,” written
underneath. At the bottom of the stairwell, there is a Strategic Air
Command logo, yet another reminder of the Cold War days when American
B-52s sat at the ready on the runway outside.

Those
long-empty B-52 parking spaces will soon get visits by two nuclear
command planes, the E-4B Nightwatch and E-6B Mercury, both which will
occasionally sit alert there. During a nuclear war, the planes would
become the flying command posts of the defense secretary and STRATCOM
commander, respectively. If a strike order is given by the president,
the planes would be used to transmit launch codes to bombers, ICBMs
and submarines. At least one of the four nuclear-hardened E-4Bs —
formally called the National Airborne Operations Center, but commonly
known as the Doomsday Plane — is always on 24-hour alert.

Barksdale
and other bases with nuclear bombers are preparing to build storage
facilities for a new nuclear cruise missile that is under
development. During his trip, Goldfein received updates on the
preliminary work for a proposed replacement for the 400-plus
Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missiles, and the new
long-range cruise missile.

“Our
job is options,” Goldfein told Defense One’s Marcus Weisgerber. “We
provide best military advice and options for the commander and chief
and the secretary of defense. Should the STRATCOM commander require
or the NORTHCOM commander require us to [be on] a higher state of
readiness to defend the homeland, then we have to have a place to put
those forces.”

And
now that the US is preparing for immediate nuclear war readiness, all
it needs is a provocation, one which a world which has never been
more on edge over a stray tweet, may have little difficulty in
finding…

Oorlogsmisdadiger Hillary Clinton* heeft een boek geschreven, het kan u bijna niet zijn ontgaan. In dit boek durft deze leugenaar de schuld voor het verlies van de VS-presidentsverkiezingen bij anderen te leggen, terwijl ze van meet af aan een heel smerige campagne leidde tegen haar mede democratische kandidaat Sanders………

Een lid van haar campagneteam, Seth Rich was het niet eens met deze smerige campagne en hij lekte documenten naar Wikileaks, die aangaven dat Clinton de boel had belogen en bedrogen, dus niet de Russen zoals de reguliere media en het grootste deel van de westerse politici tot op de dag van vandaag volhouden……. Deze Rich werd na het lekken van de documenten ‘toevallig’ vermoord, volgens de politie een roofmoord, hoewel er niets van Rich werd gestolen, zelfs zichtbare sieraden niet……. Je zal begrijpen dat deze moord Clinton wel heel goed uitkwam…….

De reguliere (massa-) media staan voor het overgrote deel nog steeds achter Clinton, ondanks al haar bewezen leugens….. Voorts zou Clinton een kampioen vrouwenemancipatie zijn, dit terwijl het haar geen reet interesseert, dat ze een groot aantal vrouwen in diepe ellende heeft gedompeld en zelfs een groot aantal vrouwen heeft vermoord, middels het vermaledijde en grootschalige terroristische VS buitenlandbeleid…….

Zoals je waarschijnlijk wel weet, gebeurde dit in de illegale oorlogen tegen Afghanistan, Irak, Libië en Syrië…… Wat betreft die laatste: van meet af aan, heeft Clinton in haar functie ingezet op het onrust stoken in Syrië, daar Assad moest verdwijnen (een VS plan dat in 2006 weer uit de koelkast werd gehaald). Waar nog aan toegevoegd moet worden, dat Clinton één op één verantwoordelijk was voor de illegale oorlog tegen Libië, een oorlog die aan naar schatting 40.000 mensen het leven heeft gekost (moorden) en waarin de Libische leider Khadaffi gruwelijk werd vermoord…….

Libie is nu één grote chaos en alle ellende die bijvoorbeeld de vluchtelingen uit conflictgebieden in Afrika overkomt (mensen die naar Europa willen vluchten), zoals verkrachting, marteling en slavernij zijn te danken aan het ingrijpen van Clinton…….. Onder Khadaffi was Libië het rijkste land van Afrika en waren huisvesting, energie, gezondheidszorg, scholing en zelfs studie (ook voor vrouwen) in het buitenland, zo goed als gratis…….

Daarnaast was er nog de coup tegen de democratisch gekozen Hondurese regering in 2009, een coup die tot een berg geweld leidde en waarvoor Clinton één van de hoofdverantwoordelijken is………

Mensen ik snap niet waar Clinton het gore lef vandaan haalt, om zichzelf als slachtoffer uit te roepen, ongelofelijk, ongeloofwaardig, onverdraaglijk en ronduit schunnig!!

Australia’s
public broadcasting network gave Hillary Clinton an open mic to
defame WikiLeaks’ Julian Assange as “a tool of Russian
intelligence” without giving him a chance to respond.

(CN) — On
Oct. 16, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation aired an interview
with Hillary Clinton: one of many to promote her score-settling book
about why she was not elected President of the United States.

Wading
through the Clinton book, What
Happened, is
an unpleasant experience, like a stomach upset. Smears and tears.
Threats and enemies. “They” (voters) were brainwashed and herded
against her by the odious Donald Trump in cahoots with sinister Slavs
sent from the great darkness known as Russia, assisted by an
Australian “nihilist,” Julian Assange.

In The New
York Times, there
was a striking photograph of a female reporter consoling Clinton,
having just interviewed her. The lost leader was, above all,
“absolutely a feminist.” The thousands of women’s lives this
“feminist” destroyed while in government — Libya, Syria,
Honduras — were of no interest.

In New
York magazine,
Rebecca Trainster wrote that Clinton was finally “expressing some
righteous anger.” It was even hard for her to smile: “so hard
that the muscles in her face ache.” Surely, she concluded, “if we
allowed women’s resentments the same bearing we allow men’s
grudges, America would be forced to reckon with the fact that all
these angry women might just have a point.”

Drivel
such as this, trivializing women’s struggles, marks the media
hagiographies of Hillary Clinton. Her political extremism and
warmongering are of no consequence. Her problem, wrote Trainster, was
a “damaging infatuation with the email story.” The truth, in
other words.

The
leaked emails of Clinton’s campaign manager, John Podesta, revealed
a direct connection between Clinton and the foundation and funding of
organized jihadism in the Middle East and Islamic State (known as
ISIS, ISIL or Daesh). The ultimate source of most Islamic terrorism,
Saudi Arabia, was central to her career.

One
email, in 2014, sent by Clinton to Podesta soon after she stepped
down as U.S. Secretary of State, discloses that Islamic State is
funded by the governments of Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Clinton accepted
huge donations from both governments for the Clinton Foundation.

As
Secretary of State, she approved the world’s biggest ever arms sale
to her benefactors in Saudi Arabia, worth more than $80 billion.
Thanks to her, U.S. arms sales to the world – for use in stricken
countries like Yemen – doubled.

This
was revealed by WikiLeaks and published by The New
York Times. No
one doubts the emails are authentic. The subsequent campaign to smear
WikiLeaks and its editor-in-chief, Julian Assange, as “agents of
Russia,” has grown into a spectacular fantasy known as
“Russiagate.” The “plot” is said to have been signed off on
by Vladimir Putin himself. There is not a shred of public evidence.

Smear
and Omission

The
ABC Australia interview with Clinton is an outstanding example of
smear and censorship by omission. I would say it is a model.

“No
one,” the interviewer, Sarah Ferguson, says to Clinton, “could
fail to be moved by the pain on your face at that moment [of the
inauguration of Trump] … Do you remember how visceral it was for
you?”

Having
established Clinton’s visceral suffering, Ferguson asks about
“Russia’s role.”

CLINTON:
I think Russia affected the perceptions and views of millions of
voters, we now know. I think that their intention coming from the
very top with Putin was to hurt me and to help Trump.

FERGUSON:
How much of that was a personal vendetta by Vladimir Putin against
you?

CLINTON:
… I mean he wants to destabilize democracy. He wants to undermine
America, he wants to go after the Atlantic Alliance and we consider
Australia kind of a … an extension of that …

(The
opposite is true. It is a combination of Western armies massing on
Russia’s border for the first time since the Russian Revolution 100
years ago.)

FERGUSON:
How much damage did [Julian Assange] do personally to you?

CLINTON:
Well, I had a lot of history with him because I was Secretary of
State when, ah, WikiLeaks published a lot of very sensitive, ah,
information from our State Department and our Defense Department.

(What
Clinton fails to say – and her interviewer fails to remind her –
is that in 2010, WikiLeaks revealed that Secretary of State Hillary
Clinton had ordered a secret intelligence campaign targeted at the
United Nations leadership, including the Secretary General, Ban
Ki-Moon and the permanent Security Council representatives from
China, Russia, France and the U.K. A classified directive, signed by
Clinton, was issued to U.S. diplomats in July 2009, demanding
forensic technical details about the communications systems used by
top U.N. officials, including passwords and personal encryption keys
used in private and commercial networks. This was known as Cablegate.
It was lawless spying.)

CLINTON:
He [Assange] is very clearly a tool of Russian intelligence. And, ah,
he has done their bidding.

(Clinton
offered no evidence to back up this serious accusation, nor did
Ferguson challenge her.)

CLINTON:
You don’t see damaging negative information coming out about the
Kremlin on WikiLeaks. You didn’t see any of that published.

(This
was false. WikiLeaks has published a massive number of documents on
Russia – more than 800,000, most of them critical, many of them
used in books and as evidence in court cases.)

A
‘Nihilistic Opportunist’

CLINTON:
So I think Assange has become a kind of nihilistic opportunist who
does the bidding of a dictator.

FERGUSON: Lots
of people, including in Australia, think that Assange is a martyr for
free speech and freedom of information. How would you describe him?
Well, you’ve just described him as a nihilist.

CLINTON:
Yeah, well, and a tool. I mean he’s a tool of Russian intelligence.
And if he’s such, ah, you know, martyr of free speech, why doesn’t
WikiLeaks ever publish anything coming out of Russia?

(Again,
Ferguson said nothing to challenge this or correct her.)

CLINTON:
There was a concerted operation between WikiLeaks and Russia and most
likely people in the United States to weaponize that information, to
make up stories … to help Trump.

FERGUSON:
Now, along with some of those outlandish stories, there was
information that was revealed about the Clinton Foundation that at
least in some of the voters’ minds seemed to associate you ….

CLINTON:
Yeah, but it was false!

FERGUSON:
… with the peddling of information …

CLINTON:
It was false! It was totally false!  …..

FERGUSON:
Do you understand how difficult it was for some voters to understand
the amounts of money that the [Clinton] Foundation is raising, the
confusion with the consultancy that was also raising money, getting
gifts and travel and so on for Bill Clinton that even Chelsea had
some issues with? …

CLINTON:
Well you know, I’m sorry, Sarah, I mean I, I know the facts….

Generational
‘Icon’

The
ABC interviewer lauded Clinton as “the icon of your generation.”
She asked her nothing about the enormous sums she creamed off from
Wall Street, such as the $675,000 for speaking to Goldman Sachs, one
of the banks at the center of the 2008 crash. Clinton’s greed
deeply upset the kind of voters she abused as “deplorables.”

Clearly
looking for a cheap headline in the Australian press, Ferguson asked
her if Trump was “a clear and present danger to Australia” and
got her predictable response.

This
high-profile journalist made no mention of Clinton’s own “clear
and present danger” to the people of Iran whom she once threatened
to “obliterate totally,” and the 40,000 Libyans who died in the
attack on Libya in 2011 that Clinton orchestrated. Flushed with
excitement, the Secretary of State rejoiced at the gruesome murder of
the Libyan leader, Colonel Gaddafi.

“Libya
was Hillary Clinton’s war,” Julian Assange said in a filmed
interview with me last year. “Barack Obama initially opposed it.
Who was the person championing it? Hillary Clinton. That’s
documented throughout her emails … there’s more than 1,700 emails
out of the 33,000 Hillary Clinton emails that we’ve published, just
about Libya. It’s not that Libya has cheap oil. She perceived the
removal of Gaddafi and the overthrow of the Libyan state —
something that she would use in her run-up to the general election
for President.

“So
in late 2011 there is an internal document called the Libya Tick Tock
that was produced for Hillary Clinton, and it’s the chronological
description of how she was the central figure in the destruction of
the Libyan state, which resulted in around 40,000 deaths within
Libya; jihadists moved in, ISIS moved in, leading to the European
refugee and migrant crisis.

“Not
only did you have people fleeing Libya, people fleeing Syria, the
destabilization of other African countries as a result of arms flows,
but the Libyan state itself was no longer able to control the
movement of people through it.”

This
– not Clinton’s “visceral” pain in losing to Trump nor the
rest of the self-serving scuttlebutt in her ABC interview – was the
story. Clinton shared responsibility for massively de-stabilizing the
Middle East, which led to the death, suffering and flight of
thousands of women, men and children.

Ferguson
raised not a word of it. Clinton repeatedly defamed Assange, who was
neither defended nor offered a right of reply on his own country’s
state broadcaster.

In
a tweet from London, Assange cited the ABC’s own Code of Practice,
which states: “Where allegations are made about a person or
organisation, make reasonable efforts in the circumstances to provide
a fair opportunity to respond.”

‘Putin’s
Bitch’

Following
the ABC broadcast, Ferguson’s executive producer, Sally Neighbour,
re-tweeted the following: “Assange is Putin’s bitch. We all know
it!”

The
slander, since deleted, was even used as a link to the ABC interview
captioned ‘Assange is Putins (sic) b****. We all know it!’

In
the years I have known Julian Assange, I have watched a vituperative
personal campaign try to stop him and WikiLeaks. It has been a
frontal assault on whistleblowing, on free speech and free
journalism, all of which are now under sustained attack from
governments and corporate Internet controllers.

The
first serious attacks on Assange came from the Guardian, which, like
a spurned lover, turned on its besieged former source, having hugely
profited from WikiLeaks’ disclosures. With not a penny going to
Assange or WikiLeaks, a Guardian book led to a lucrative Hollywood
movie deal. Assange was portrayed as “callous” and a “damaged
personality.”

It
was as if a rampant jealousy could not accept that his remarkable
achievements stood in marked contrast to that of his detractors in
the “mainstream” media. It is like watching the guardians of the
status quo, regardless of age, struggling to silence real dissent and
prevent the emergence of the new and hopeful.

Today,
Assange remains a political refugee from the war-making dark state of
which Donald Trump is a caricature and Hillary Clinton the
embodiment. His resilience and courage are astonishing. Unlike him,
his tormentors are cowards.
