In
plaats van vluchtelingen te demoniseren, die NB op de vlucht zijn
geslagen door VS bemoeienissen met Latijns-America, zou de regering
van de VS de noodtoestand moeten afroepen over de klimaatverandering!
De democratische politici Earl
Blumenauer, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez en Bernie Sanders wijzen de
Trump administratie op de vreselijke gevolgen van de
klimaatverandering, gevolgen waar de VS nu al mee te maken heeft,
gezien de steeds vaker optredende bosbranden en de steeds heviger en
vaker optredende verwoestende orkanen. Niet vreemd dus dat de
voornoemde politici aan de bel trekken, waar zij stellen dat Trump de
vluchtelingen die de VS willen bereiken, wel heeft uitgeroepen tot
noodtoestand (waarbij hij hen afschildert als misdadigers…) en de ogen sluit voor de klimaatramp die zich voor zijn ogen (en de rest van zijn administratie) voltrekt.
Uiteraard is het afroepen van de noodtoestand over vluchtelingenstromen door Trump te
belachelijk voor woorden*, waar Trump en zijn administratie keer op
keer durven te stellen dat de klimaatverandering een leugen is van
linkse krachten….. Dit terwijl zoals gezegd de gevolgen van de
klimaatverandering al velen in de VS in diepe ellende hebben gestort
en deze verhevigde natuurrampen het volk van de VS al honderden miljarden dollars aan
belastinggeld hebben gekost…..
De VS
wordt in feite deels bestuurd door het bedrijfsleven, inclusief de
oliemaffia, waar de grote bedrijven op z’n zachtst gezegd grote
moeite hebben met maatregelen die de klimaatverandering nog enigszins
kunnen afremmen, daar hun winsten daar onder zullen leiden en zelfs zouden kunnen leiden tot het sluiten van hele bedrijfstakken die niet anders doen dan de klimaatverandering aanjagen…….

The
US Government Should Declare Climate Emergency

The
havoc that will soon be wrought by climate change is unfathomable.
It’s a crisis — one which Reps. Earl Blumenauer, Alexandria
Ocasio-Cortez, and Sen. Bernie Sanders demanded yesterday the US
government recognize. It’s a needed step towards winning a Green New
Deal.
To
justify his administration’s barbaric actions at the Southern
border, Donald Trump is using the language of crisis. In May 2019,
a scaremongering
statement from
the White House declared that the United States “has been invaded
by hundreds of thousands of people coming through Mexico.” This
“sustained influx of illegal aliens” is “overwhelming our
schools, overcrowding our hospitals, draining our welfare system, and
causing untold amounts of crime,” the administration said.
This,
of course, is bullshit.
The
United States is currently
seeing a
net outflow of
undocumented immigrants. And even if we weren’t, these people have
a right to migrate in order to create a life free from wanton
violence and economic devastation — chaos largely
created by
the United States.
Immigrants
do not “overwhelm” us; they are us,
and their presence in this country does not constitute a crisis.
Their abuse at
the hands of our government, however, absolutely does.
The
Trump administration recently invoked the International Emergency
Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) to justify its inhumane treatment of immigrants
on US soil. This struck Rep.
Earl Blumenauer of Oregon as unjustifiably hypocritical. What if we
used the language of crisis to instead describe an actual mass
emergency: the looming threat of climate disaster, which the Trump
administration categorically neglects and which, unlike the presence
of undocumented immigrants, requires drastic and immediate political
action in order to ensure public safety?
Blumenauer
has teamed up with Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to
propose legislation declaring global warming a national and
international emergency.
The
resolution was submitted to
the House of Representatives on Tuesday. In order to address the
crisis at hand, it calls
for “a
national, social, industrial, and economic mobilization of the
resources and labor of the United States at a massive-scale to halt,
reverse, mitigate, and prepare for the consequences of the climate
emergency and to restore the climate for future generations.”
The
legislation may have been inspired by Trump’s duplicity, but the
idea did not spring fully formed from Blumenauer’s mind. It is a
response to climate activists, who have been increasingly demanding
that national, state, and local governments around the world declare
the climate crisis an emergency.
In
April, the new group Extinction Rebellion occupied central London for
ten days. “The science is clear: It is understood that we are
facing an unprecedented global emergency,” says
the group.
“We are in a life or death situation of our own making. We must act
now.” Extinction Rebellion’s first demand is that governments
“must tell the truth by declaring a climate and ecological
emergency, working with other institutions to communicate the urgency
for change.”
Declarations
of emergency are also the most
urgent demand of
The Climate Mobilization, a US-based climate activist group waging a
campaign to pressure governments to sign on. The group
states that
“declaring Climate Emergency is the critical first step to
launching the comprehensive mobilization solution required to rescue
and rebuild civilization.”
In
response to the Extinction Rebellion protests, the United Kingdom
House of Commons declared
emergency in
May. Similar declarations around the world are pouring in. To date,
climate emergency has been declared by 740 jurisdictions globally,
one of which is New York City, which declared
emergency in
June. Los Angeles appears set to follow
suit.
The joint resolution proposed by Blumenauer, Ocasio-Cortez, and
Sanders would make the United States the seventeenth and largest
nation to heed the crisis declaration call from climate activists.
It
remains to be seen whether the US federal climate emergency
resolution has the support needed to pass into law. The United States
government sustains intimate ties with the fossil fuel industry, ties
that have so far prevented political representatives from touching
anything that opens the door, as this resolution does, to a national
mobilization to cease fossil fuel extraction and transition to a
zero-emissions economy. Even though the resolution is nonbinding, it
clearly gestures toward the implementation of a Green
New Deal (GND) which,
as envisioned by Ocasio-Cortez and Sanders, would spell the end of
the fossil fuel era.
There’s
another reason legislators may be hesitant, despite clear evidence
that we are indeed facing a climate emergency, to vote for a bill
that paves the way for a Green New Deal. The GND isn’t just about
saving the planet: it’s about doing so in a way that builds the
power of working people and erodes inequality, on the basis that the
current capitalist system brought us to the brink of destruction to
begin with.
To
this end, the GND would create millions
of green jobs,
and insists that they come with “a family-sustaining wage, adequate
family and medical leave, paid vacations, and retirement security to
all people of the United States.”
American
politicians aren’t just beholden to the fossil fuel industry;
they’re beholden to the capitalist class writ large. Reducing
unemployment and building worker power — including providing
universal healthcare, education, and housing, also outlined in the
GND — makes exploitation
harder,
which means profits for the few will sink even as living standards
for the many improve. There’s no doubt that the GND will face
tremendous pushback in the halls of power, and that pushback may
begin with shooting down this declaration.
The
best shot we have at muscling this bill through is to raise hell in
the streets. It’s sound politics: when the people in power don’t
want to budge, the majority must create pressure from the outside to
force their hand. It’s no easy task. But if people fight hard
enough, we might be able to get the United States — the biggest
carbon polluter in world history — to formally acknowledge
the real crisis at hand.

Onlangs
werd al bekend gemaakt dat kinderen van immigranten nog steeds
gescheiden worden van hun ouders en moeten leven in omstandigheden
die te vergelijken zijn met de concentratiekampen van de nazi’s
tijdens WOII…… Hoorde eergisternacht op de BBC dat men zelfs
tot 100 kinderen in een soort van grote cel gevangen houdt…… Peuters lopen met of vuile luiers of helemaal geen luiers, zodat de kleding ongelofelijk vies wordt…..
Over kleding gesproken: pubers moeten soms wekenlang doen met de kleding die ze aanhebben….. Voedsel dat wordt verstrekt is niet zelden bedorven en de oudere kinderen moeten de kleine kinderen helpen, kinderen die zij niet kennen, noch dat deze pubers ervaring hebben in het zorgen voor kleine kinderen…… Het ontbreekt de kinderen veelal aan gezond voedsel, waar ze vaak zelfs te weinig te eten krijgen…… De sanitaire voorzieningen zijn smerig, zoals je al begrepen had…..
Uit het
artikel van Saleh, gepubliceerd op The Intercept, aandacht voor
het grote aantal gevallen van isolatie in de gevangenissen van ICE, of in door ICE gehuurde faciliteiten voor oudere vluchtelingen……. Voorts zijn ook hier de sanitaire
voorzieningen smerig en is het eten zonder meer slecht te noemen, zoals gezegd niet zelden met bedorven voedsel……
Het meest schunnige is wel, dat ondanks de grote ophef eerder over het scheiden van ouders en kinderen, deze scheiding nog steeds wordt doorgevoerd, om zo nieuwe vluchtelingen af te schrikken zodat ze niet naar de VS vluchten……
Het voorgaande kan dan ook tot geen andere conclusie leiden dan dat we hier (zoals eerder opgemerkt) te maken hebben met concentratiekampen en dat beste bezoeker kan niet vaak genoeg gezegd worden…….

AS
PUSH AGAINST ICE EXPLOITATION OF SOLITARY CONFINEMENT GAINS MOMENTUM,
CORY BOOKER CALLS FOR HEARINGS

CORY BOOKER, D-N.J., is calling on Senate
Judiciary Committee Chair Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., to hold a hearing
into Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s “egregious and
appalling abuses,” including the widespread use of solitary
confinement.
In
a letter to
Graham, Booker, who sits on the Judiciary Committee, referred to
solitary confinement as a “form of torture” and cited a
recent investigation by
the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists, The
Intercept, NBC News, and four other reporting partners into ICE’s
use of solitary confinement. Our reporting, which included a review
of more than 8,400 reports describing placement in solitary
confinement from 2012 to early 2017, found that ICE uses isolation as
a go-to tool, rather than a last resort, to punish vulnerable
detained immigrants.
“The
news stories detail numerous examples of individuals placed in
confinement without justification, which prompted a whistleblower to
come forward to shine a light on these abuses,” wrote Booker,
referring to Department of Homeland Security (DHS) employee Ellen
Gallagher,
who quietly raised the alarm about ICE’s use of solitary
confinement for four years before going public in interviews with the
reporting consortium.
While
different carceral systems use varying terms to describe solitary
confinement — ICE calls it “segregation” — it is generally
understood to be the practice of holding individuals in isolation
with no human contact for at least 22 hours a day.
“ICE’s
own policy seems to recognize the dangers of solitary confinement,”
Booker continued. “It appears ICE has been consistently violating
its own policy on the use of solitary confinement.”
His
letter to Graham comes on the heels of a letter from
Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., to the acting director of
ICE, demanding
answers about
the agency’s use of solitary confinement and extensively citing our
investigation. Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., another member of
the Judiciary Committee, also called for
a hearing into ICE’s use of solitary in response to our
investigation last month. The panel’s Democrats do not have
independent authority to schedule a hearing, hence the request to
Graham.
Booker,
in his letter, said that a Judiciary Committee hearing about ICE
would give the panel a chance to interrogate “grossly unsanitary
conditions at detention facilities,” as well as to gather more
information about forthcoming immigration raids that President Donald
Trump “flippantly alluded to” on Twitter last week. The
president, after announcing that the agency would begin to round up
“millions” of immigrants this week — a
logistically impossible endeavor —
on Saturday put the ICE operation on hold.
Graham,
an anti-immigrant hard-liner and apologist for the Trump
administration’s harsh policies, convened a committee hearing —
at Democrats’ request — in March to investigate Customs and
Border Protection for its actions at the southern border. Graham used
the hearing as an opportunity for fearmongering about
migrants seeking asylum in the United States. The CBP, like ICE,
falls under the umbrella of the Department of Homeland Security.
The
oversight hearing on CBP was not enough, Booker wrote. “In order to
fully address the scope of ICE’s serious and egregious violations,
the Committee must convene an oversight hearing. It’s becoming
increasingly clear that ICE has become nothing more than a lethal
weapon in the Trump administration’s war on immigrants and
communities of color, and we cannot be silent.”
BOOKER’S
HARSH STANCE against
ICE in the letter to Graham is in line with the tack he’s taken on
the presidential campaign trail, where he’s been a staunch critic
of the agency’s policies. In February, he, along with other 2020
hopefuls Warren, Sen. Kamala Harris, and Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand,
voted against a spending bill, citing ICE. At the time,
Booker said that
bill would give ICE and CBP “hundreds of millions of additional
dollars with little oversight or appropriate guardrails.” In April,
he reintroduced
legislation to
enact protections for detained immigrants.
Booker has
also been an outspoken advocate of the rights of prisoners throughout
his federal career. At the same time, he’s remained close to a
party boss in his home state who oversees a jail that serves as an
immigration detention center and is rife with abuses, drawing
the ire of local progressives.
As
Politico reported on
Tuesday, Booker will be in New Jersey on Friday for a
$2,800-per-person fundraiser co-hosted by Essex County Executive
Joseph DiVincenzo. In that role, DiVincenzo oversees the Essex County
Correctional Facility in Newark, which has a $40 million per year
contract with ICE — and was called out for poor conditions in two
DHS Inspector General reports just this year.
Twenty-one
progressive organizations last week sent a letter to Booker calling
on him to cancel the fundraiser, Politico reported. “I believe that
Booker wants to make sure that the funnel of money keeps coming
through, and that’s why he’s supporting Joe [DiVincenzo] right
now,” Carrine Murphy, a paralegal who is critical of county jails’
contracts with ICE, told
Politico.
In
February, the Office of Inspector General identified a
number of issues at the jail, including food safety issues, with
“potentially contaminated food being served to detainees.” One
example noted “a detainee in segregation said the food
was so bad that he had started a liquid only diet and was considering
a full hunger strike.”
Earlier
this month, the Inspector General issued a follow-up reportbuilding
on the same inspection and said that “detainees are placed in
disciplinary segregation before the disciplinary hearing panel finds
the detainee guilty of the charged offense.”
The
facility has reported making improvements in its solitary confinement
practices, “including documenting why detainee strip searches
were conducted and revising recreation schedules to add additional
recreation time,” the Inspector General wrote.
The
ICIJ and Intercept investigation found 100 records of placement in
solitary confinement at the Essex County jail from 2013 to early
2017. Twenty-seven of those placements were due to disciplinary
reasons, while three of them were the result of a suicide risk.
Overall, we found at least 373 instances of detained immigrants being
placed in isolation because they were potentially suicidal — and
another 200-plus cases of people already in solitary confinement
moved to “suicide watch” or another form of observation, in many
cases in another solitary cell.
Immigration
is expected to be a hot-button issue throughout the presidential
campaign. Booker and Warren will both participate in the first 2020
Democratic presidential debate in Miami, Florida, on Wednesday night.

Vooral in de VS en grote Europese steden schijnt apenvlees ‘hip’ te zijn…. De Britse douane onderschepte een paar weken terug zo’n 900 kilo bushmeat dat bestemd was voor de VS…..
Hierbij
wil ik de ook de hoop uitspreken dat dit westerse geteisem t.z.t. wordt afgeknald
en zelf wordt opgegeten. Gaat misschien wat ver, maar ze ebola wensen (veelal opgelopen door het eten van ‘bushmeat’, waartoe uiteraard ook
chimpansee vlees behoort) is niet zo slim daar deze ziekte zo
uitermate besmettelijk en dodelijk is.

Meat Being Served as a Delicacy in the UK and US
If
you’re attending a ritzy event in the U.K., pay attention to the
meat being served. Some high-end private events in Britain are
offering chimpanzee meat
as a “delicacy.” That’s bizarre, illegal and dangerous, primate
experts say.
This
isn’t just a U.K. problem, by the way. Customs officials revealed a
few weeks ago they found and confiscated 2,000 pounds of “bush
meat” on a flight bound for the U.S.
“It’s
rife. It’s there — it’s in all the major cities across Europe
and the U.S.,” primate scientist Ben Garrod told The
Telegraph.
“We have seen bush meat confiscated in the U.K. in check points at
borders and in markets.”
Bush
meat is
meat taken illegally by poachers of wildlife, including chimpanzees,
gorillas, elephants, antelopes, pangolins and many others. Somehow it
has become a prized
delicacy in
Western countries, selling in Britain for five times the price of
beef or pork, according to The Telegraph.
Bush
meat poses more serious problems than people may realize. In addition
to the fact that bush meat comes from illegally killed endangered
animals, it’s also a tremendous threat to human health.
The
greatest danger is a doozy: Bush meat can carry the Ebola virus.
In
most cases, people get Ebola through contact with an infected animal,
such as a fruit bat or nonhuman primate. When an animal infects a
human, it’s known as a “spillover event.” Once a human begins
showing symptoms, the virus will spread from human to human via
direct contact with bodily fluids.
While
Ebola is not normally transmitted by food, the Centers
for Disease Control and Prevention advises
that “in certain parts of the world, Ebola virus may spread through
the handling and consumption of bushmeat (wild animals hunted for
food).”
Therein
lies the problem. If you eat or handle Ebola-infected bush meat,
you’ve begun a potential chain of events that could ultimately
infect and kill many innocent people.
“The
biggest worry for health authorities at the moment is that a disease
that can be passed between humans and animals will be the next big
pandemic,” Garrod told The Telegraph. “For example, HIV
originally came from primates. We are so similar, so the potential is
there for various pathogens and viruses to be transmitted or mutate.”
Renowned
primate expert Dr.
Jane Goodall agrees
with Garrod that bush meat poses a real threat. “Interpol is
becoming increasingly involved in animal trafficking and could,
perhaps, be persuaded to take a more active role in the bush meat
smuggling,” she told The Telegraph.
It’s
reportedly quite easy to get bush meat past customs officials because
it’s often smoked and blackened first. Bush meat looks like any
similar meat that’s been cooked in that way. How are customs
officials to know the difference? One way, Garrod suggests, is to
begin DNA testing imported meats.
“With
advances in DNA analysis and the price of them coming down it’s not
unreasonable that we could be checking for these things,” he told
The Telegraph.
To
avoid the potential for a pandemic, DNA testing seems to be a
reasonable recommendation.
An
even more effective way to eliminate the problem is to eliminate the
demand. Educate those who desire bush meat that they’re putting
their lives at risk — along with the lives of many others — for
the sake of a “delicacy.”
Respect
the chimpanzee. Don’t eat it. The same goes for any endangered or
vulnerable-status animal. Those who are importing bush meat to the
U.S. or U.K. are not people who must eat that kind of meat to
survive. They’re self-centered and uninformed — and they’re
creating unnecessary risk for the rest of us.

Uitermate triest…….
Adani Enterprises zou maatregelen hebben genomen die het milieu, waaronder het grondwater, moeten beschermen……. Echter deskundigen stellen dat bijvoorbeeld de garantie over zuiver grondwater onmogelijk kan worden gegeven door Adani Mining…….
Nog lulliger: voor het vervoer naar het buitenland zou de grootste kolenterminal ter wereld worden gebouwd en voor de toegang tot die haven moet een grote vaargeul worden gegraven dwars door het Groot Barrièrerif…… (als ik me niet vergis dingt ook een Nederlandse baggeraar mee naar die opdracht…) Ook de overslag van kolen geeft een enorme vervuiling met kolengruis, ook al dodelijk voor koraalriffen (en mensen….)……
Het meest zieke is wel, dat deze mijn jaarlijks maar liefst 10 miljoen ton steenkool zal leveren, steenkool dat bij verbranding de klimaatverandering onevenredig hard aanjaagt en zoals we weten, juist die klimaatverandering is funest voor het koraal……
Moet je nagaan: Australië is één van de landen die het hardst wordt getroffen door de gevolgen van de klimaatverandering, zie het enorme aantal bosbranden in dat land…… Een (deel-) regering die toestemming geeft voor deze enorme vervuiling en verdere aanjagen van de klimaatverandering is zonder meer zwaar misdadig en zou moeten worden vervolgd door het meer dan lamme Internationaal Strafhof (ICC)!!!
Wat betreft het voorgaande: vergeet niet dat niet alleen in Australië doden vallen door de klimaatverandering, maar dat wereldwijd al een enorm aantal mensen is omgekomen door de verheviging van natuurrampen, een direct gevolg van de opwarming van de aarde……. Natuurrampen die door de klimaatverandering ook nog eens steeds vaker voorkomen……
Met het verder inzetten op steenkoolwinning zijn Australië en de VS de hoofdverantwoordelijken voor het verder opjagen van de wereldtemperatuur, beiden dumpen al jaren steenkool tegen afbraakprijzen op de wereldmarkt, de reden dat onze opvolgende schoftenregeringen besloten om de gascentrales uit te zetten en in te zetten op steenkoolverbranding……. En dan durfden en durven de oplichters van Rutte 2 en 3 te stellen dat de gaswinning op peil moet worden gehouden om huishoudens van gas te voorzien, zelfs opperschoft Rutte had onlangs nog het gore lef dit te stellen….. Het gaat dan ook m.n. over de contracten die Nederland met andere landen afsloot voor de levering van gas, dit tegen een belachelijk lage gasprijs, hetzelfde geldt voor de gaslevering aan bedrijven, die bij grotere volumes zelfs korting krijgen op de al veel te lage prijs die ze moeten betalen……
Tot slot nog even dit: vanmorgen op BNR aandacht voor dit onderwerp in het programma van Bas ‘uh uh uh, de de de goeiemorgen goeiemorgen’ van Werven. Deze plork had het gore lef te stellen dat de vele toeristen die met bootjes het grote koraalrif bezoeken meer vervuilen dan deze steenkoolmijn zal vervuilen……. Terwijl deze zich ‘petrolhead’ noemende hansworst, of beter gezegd levende rollade, het liefst zoveel mogelijk benzine of diesel verstookt in auto’s…. En dan heeft deze plork ook nog eens kinderen, het is wel duidelijk dat hij hen het liefst een zo smerig mogelijke en onleefbare wereld nalaat…..
Stapelgek, alsof
intussen niet voldoende is bewezen dat de huidige snelle
klimaatverandering is toe te schrijven aan de verbranding van

De klimaatverandering is aan de verbranding van fossiele brandstoffen, dus aan de mens te danken, een feit dat door oliemaatschappijen ExxonMobil en Shell, na grondig eigen onderzoek, al werd onderschreven in respectievelijk de 70er en 80er jaren van de
vorige eeuw……. (me dunkt geen verdachte partijen voor klimaatsceptici….)
Om het
publiek in de VS dom te houden, noemt het huidige ministerie van
energie (DoE) in de VS fossiele brandstoffen ‘Molecules of Freedom’ en
‘Freedom Gas….’ ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Hoe knettergek moet je zijn om
het volk op deze smerige manier te laten geloven dat de hele
klimaatverandering een linkse leugen is om het zo bejubelde
kapitalisme en de VS te vernietigen…..
Nee, vooral een zo zwaar mogelijk, suffe auto kopen en dan 4,5 liter benzine voor een paar dollar verstoken in een auto, die nog steeds veel te weinig kilometers rijdt op de verstookte hoeveelheid brandstof, zelfs met een tankinhoudt van meer dan 60 liter……..
Moet je
nagaan: de VS behoort tot de landen die nu al het hardst worden
getroffen door de gevolgen van de klimaatverandering >> grote
droogte en een toename van het aantal orkanen en een verheviging van
die orkanen…….
Uitermate
smerig allemaal en dan te bedenken dat vorig jaar ook in de VS de
uitstoot van CO2 is gegroeid met 3%….. Waar het fracken voor olie en gas een enorme hoeveelheid zwaar vervuild water oplevert, dat zowel in grondwater weglekt, als wordt geloosd op rivieren en zelfs in de oceaan….. Bovendien wordt er na het fracken een vervuild kraterlandschap achtergelaten, waar de kans op aardbevingen groot wordt, zoals de aardgasbevingen in ons Groningen…….
Over verontreiniging gesproken: door het verbranden van fossiele brandstoffen overlijden wereldwijd jaarlijks 7 miljoen mensen, alsof dat al niet 7 miljoen redenen zijn om als de bliksem te stoppen met deze onzalige verbranding….. Om over de honderdduizenden slachtoffers t.g.v. van verhevigde natuurrampen door de klimaatverandering maar te zwijgen… Ofwel de VS maakt liever een enorm aantal slachtoffers dan dat men stopt met de onzalige fossiele brandstof verbranding….. Ach ja, de VS wat wil je, de grootste terreurentiteit op onze kleine aarde…..

Department of Energy Rebrands Fossil Fuels as “Molecules of
Freedom” and “Freedom Gas”
On
Tuesday, the Department of Energy (DoE) published a news
release promoting
their approval of increased exports of natural gas from a new
Freeport LNG liquefaction plant that will be built off the coast of
Texas, on Quintana Island.
In
the release, Mark W Menezes, the U.S. Under Secretary of Energy,
referred to the fossil fuel as “freedom gas,” saying:
“Increasing
export capacity from the Freeport LNG project is critical to
spreading freedom gas throughout the world by giving America’s
allies a diverse and affordable source of clean energy.”
There
is so much wrong with this that it’s hard to even know where to
start.
First
of all, natural gas isn’t “clean energy.” Natural gas is a
fossil fuel that is extracted from the Earth and burned. In
fact, according
toDeSmog:
“Last
year America’s carbon emissions rose
over 3 percent,
despite coal plants closing and being replaced in part by natural
gas, the much-touted “bridge
fuel”
and “cleaner” fossil fuel alternative.
As
a new series from the sustainability think tank the Sightline
Institute points out, the idea of natural gas as a bridge fuel is
‘alarmingly
deceptive‘.“
It
also remains to be seen how a fossil fuel has anything to do with
freedom. If anything, being so closely tied to an undeniable need for
fossil fuels is restrictive, not freeing. Modern societies are so
bound to fossil fuels that, if they were to suddenly vanish,
virtually everything we do would come to a screeching halt and thrust
us into chaos. Nothing about that really screams freedom.
There’s also the simple fact that the Trump administration just reduced natural gas—the hydrocarbon gas mixture that consists primarily of methane—to “freedom gas.”
Whether or not Menezes or other members of the Trump administration intended this news release, and the included laughable new terminology to be humorous, remains to be seen.

The
bizarre statements about natural gas exports don’t stop at
Menezes. According
to EURACTV,
in early May, Energy Secretary Rick Perry told reporters in Brussels: “Seventy-five years after liberating Europe from Nazi Germany occupation, the United States is again delivering a form of freedom to the European continent. And rather than in the form of young American soldiers, it’s in the form of liquefied natural gas.”

While
commentary on the language used in the release spread on the internet
like wildfire, it overshadowed the content and purpose of the
announcement.
Texas
accounted for 23% of natural gas produced in 2017, as the top natural
gas-producing state in the country. According
to the
U.S. Energy Information Administration, production of natural gas in
the United States has increased dramatically since 2005, after the
introduction of hydraulic fracturing (fracking).
“In
order to frack, an enormous amount of water is mixed with various
toxic chemical compounds to create frack fluid. This frack fluid is
further contaminated by the heavy metals and radioactive elements
that exist naturally in the shale. A significant portion of the frack
fluid returns to the surface, where it can spill or be dumped into
rivers and streams. Underground water supplies can also be
contaminated by fracking, through migration of gas and frack fluid
underground.”
An
increase in earthquakes in areas not previously prone to them,
flammable water, and negative health effects have all been blamed on
fracking.
Americans
are left wondering if, after writing the release, Menezes hopped into
his freedom gas guzzling vehicle to burn some molecules of U.S.
freedom on his way to the nearest drive-thru for a fresh pack of
freedom fries to share with Perry, and if we’re supposed to feel
more free as we continue to deal with the less than humorous
consequences of natural gas fracking.

de planeten in de ‘directe omgeving’ van de aarde…… Neem Trump die de oprichting heeft aangekondigd van een ‘space force’ ofwel een militarisering van de ruimte, gezien wat de VS op aarde presteert, zal dit de mens geen goeds brengen……
Alle
verhalen over agressieve buitenaardse beschavingen, die de aarde
zouden willen vernietigen, berusten op de paranoïde en agressieve
aard van de mens. Als ik en vele anderen gelijk hebben dat de mens al
lang in de gaten wordt gehouden door zeer geavanceerde beschavingen,
zijn deze op zeker niet agressief, immers met de technologie die deze
beschavingen tot hun beschikking hebben, hadden ze de mens al 10 keer
uit kunnen roeien.
Lullig gezien het voorgaande dat men wereldwijd heeft afgesproken een buitenaards wezen na ontdekking onmiddellijk te executeren, anders gezegd te vermoorden…….
Als we
doorgaan op de huidige voet zal de mens niet veel langer kunnen
bestaan, of buitenaardse krachten zouden in moeten grijpen, maar ja
wie is er bereid om zijn of haar neus in een wespennest te

Pentagon has admitted that they have been investigating UFOs through
a secret government initiative known as the “Advanced Aerospace
Threat Identification Program (AATIP),” which the Defense
department told the New
York Post “did
pursue research and investigation into unidentified aerial
phenomena.”
The
DoD says that it shut down AATIP in 2012, however spokesman
Christopher Sherwood told the Post that
the department still
investigates potential alien aircraft sightings.
“The
Department of Defense is always concerned about maintaining positive
identification of all aircraft in our operating environment, as well
as identifying any foreign capability that may be a threat to the
homeland,” said Sherwood.
“The
department will continue to investigate, through normal procedures,
reports of unidentified aircraft encountered by US military aviators
in order to ensure defense of the homeland and protection against
strategic surprise by our nation’s adversaries.”
Nick
Pope, who secretly investigated UFOs for the British government
during the 1990s, called
the DOD’s comments a “bombshell revelation.”
Pope,
a former UK defense official-turned-author, said, “Previous
official statements were ambiguous and left the door open to the
possibility that AATIP was simply concerned with next-generation
aviation threats from aircraft, missiles and drones — as skeptics
claimed.
“This
new admission makes it clear that they really did study what the
public would call ‘UFOs,’
” he said.
“It
also shows the British influence, becauseUAP
was the term we used in the Ministry of Defence to get away from the
pop culture baggage that came with the term ‘UFO.’ ”

AATIP’s
existence was revealed in 2017,
when former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) claimed to have
arranged for the program’s $22 million annual funding. Reid told
the New
York Times that
it was “one of the good things I did in my congressional
service.”
The New
York Times published
the article after the DoD released a 33-second DoD video released by
the AATIP, featuring an airborne object being chased off the coast of
San Diego by two navy jets in 2004.
On
Sunday we reported on an op-ed written by Christopher Mellon in The
Hill,
on the fact that since 2015, “dozens
of Navy F-18 fighter jets have encountered Unidentified Aerial
Phenomenon (UAPs) – once commonly referred to as UFOs – off the East
Coast of the United States, some not far from the nation’s
capital. Encounters
have been reported by other military aircraft and civilian airliners
elsewhere in the U.S. and abroad, too, including videos shot by
airline passengers.”
What
these UAPs were and who was flying them – whether friends, foes or
unknown forces – remains a mystery. Yet
careful examination of the data inevitably leads to one possible,
disturbing conclusion: A potential adversary of the United States has
mastered technologies we do not yet understand, to achieve
capabilities we cannot yet match.
It
is long past time for Congress to discover the answers to those
questions, and
to share at least some of its conclusions with the public. –The

Op Ebony kwam ik het volgende artikel van Jessica Bennett tegen: 2 politieagenten van
Hugo (juist, in de VS) hebben het vuur geopend op een truck waarin naast de bestuurder 3
kinderen waren te zien, de agenten dachten te maken te hebben met
de dader van een daarvoor beroofde pizzeria……
‘Logisch
die aanname’, immers er zat een gekleurde man (‘zéééér verdacht…’) achter het stuur en die
‘nemen altijd hun kinderen mee als ze een zaak gaan overvallen…’
Volgens
de agenten moesten ze wel schieten daar het erop leek dat de man hen
wilde overrijden, alsof je dan niet beter even opzij kan gaan…..
De
bestuurder wist overigens niet dat het om politieagenten ging, die
hem wilden aanhouden, daar ze ‘in burger waren’ (gekleed), ofwel voor
hetzelfde geld ging het hier om een geval van ‘carjacking’, waar de potentiële daders gewapend waren en zelfs hun wapens op de auto hadden gericht…..
Eén van
de kinderen heeft een kogel in het hoofd, die vooralsnog niet kan
worden verwijderd….
Onbegrijpelijk
dat men de politie niet totaal hervormd in de VS….. Ach dat zal niet
helpen, zolang de top van de politie wordt gekozen en gekleurden daar nog
steeds worden gezien als een minderwaardige soort mens, die daarbij een minderheid vormt in het witte agressieve VS, de dood in de
pot…..
De VS, een land dat zowel in binnen- als buitenland enorme terreur uitoefent en schijt heeft aan mensenrechten en democratie, terwijl het juist onder het mom van zogenaamde verdediging tegen/van deze 3 zaken, de ene na de andere illegale oorlog voert, één van de ergste oorlogsmisdaden die een land kan begaan, daarbij is het ook nog eens één van de zwaarste vormen van terreur, waarbij mensenrechten met voeten worden getreden…..

Outraged After Police Shoot 3 Children in the Head
My
4-year-old daughter was shot in the head, and she has a bullet in her
brain, and my 5-year-old has a skull fracture.”
The names of two
officers involved in the shooting of three children in Hugo, OK have
been released over a week after the tragic incident took place.
Hugo Police
Department detectives Billy Jenkins and Chad Allen have been
identified as the officers who opened fire on a vehicle driven by
William Devaughn Smith, 21, whom they suspected of robbing a pizza
shop. The bullets struck three of the four children sitting in the
back seat.
“My
4-year-old daughter was shot in the head, and she has a bullet in her
brain, and my 5-year-old has a skull fracture,” mom Olivia Hill
toldKFOR.
“My 1-year-old baby has gunshot wounds on her face. My 2-year-old
wasn’t touched with any bullets.”
Police claim
they began shooting because Smith was attempting to run them over
with his truck, but many dispute this argument, saying officers
simply could have moved out of the way rather than opening fire,
especially into a vehicle containing children. It should also be
noted that officers were in plain clothes that day, meaning Smith
very well may not have known the two men approaching him with guns
were police.
“If
you don’t know if someone is law enforcement or not, it changes
things,”
said family attorney Damario Solomon-Simmons
according to TFTP*.
“I don’t know what happened, but that’s concerning to me.”
The
three children who were shot have reportedly all been released from
the hospital, yet will continue to deal with “a lot of physical and
emotional pain,” Simmons said.
“They
are terrified to go anywhere or hear anything,” he said. “The
two-year-old keeps asking about ‘Am I going to get shot again.’
It’s a bad deal. The child who had a bullet in the brain, there’s
some question now that she may have a permanent injury. She might be
looking at a lifetime injury.”
Trump
weigerde een paar weken terug het rapport over drone aanvallen
(Lees: terreur aanslagen) door de VS vrij te geven…. Niet zo vreemd
als je beseft dat meer dan 90% van de vermoorden bij die aanslagen,
niet eens werden verdacht, het gaat dan dus veelal om vrouwen en kinderen……
Veronderstel dat de ogen bij de gemiddelde VS burger opengaan en deze het
niet langer pikt dat met zijn/haar belastinggeld en in feite uit
zijn/haar naam duizenden kilometers verderop mensen worden vermoord, die worden verdacht en waarbij de nevenschade (collateral damage) mensen zijn die zelfs niet op de verdachtenlijst van de VS staan……*
Daniel
Everette Hale wordt ervan verdacht geheime documenten over deze
terreuraanslagen te hebben gelekt naar The Intercept, die e.e.a.
publiceerde. Hale die voorkwam in een documentaire genaamd
‘National Bird’ wordt juridisch bijgestaan door advocaat Jesselyn
Radack, tevens directeur van Whistleblower
& Source Protection Program (WHISPeR)……
Hale is de vierde klokkenluider die belachelijk genoeg wordt beschuldigd
van spionage en volgens zeggen zouden de Trump administratie en de FBI
nog veel meer zaken onderzoeken, waar de FBI zelfs oude zaken
heropend om te zien of men niet meer mensen aan de paal kan nagelen
voor het naar buiten brengen van bewijzen dat de VS zich in het
buitenland in feite gedraagt als een enorme terreurorganisatie……

Espionage
Act Charged 4th Time Under Trump
The
Trump administration has charged yet another whistleblower with
espionage. Last Thursday, Daniel
Everette Hale was arrested and indicted,
for allegedly disclosing classified documents about the U.S.
military’s assassination program, believed to have been the source
material for a series in The Intercept called “The
Drone Papers”.
I provided legal representation for Daniel during his appearance in
the award-winning drone documentary National
Bird.
Daniel
could face 50 years in prison, accused of contacting the press about
a matter of extreme public importance that has been shrouded in
secrecy. But the larger concern is
not what
Hale did or didn’t do but what our
government has
been doing. For almost two decades, they have used a veil of secrecy
to deny the American public the basic right to informed debate and
consent. Government officials have repeatedly lied about nature and
the extent of drone assassinations. No one has ever been held
accountable for these lies, or for the war crimes committed.
Daniel
is at least the
seventh source to
be criminally prosecuted — and the fourth to be charged under the
Espionage Act — during the Trump administration. And the government
claims to be investigating dozens more open cases.
Trump’s
Department of Justice is building upon the foundation laid by the
Obama administration’s notorious War on Whistleblowers, taking an
already draconian effort to the next level. The Justice Department
has made every effort to prosecute leaks even more aggressively,
reopening old cases, and even creating
a dedicated FBI counterintelligence unit to hunt down leakers.
They are placing government employees are under increasingly heavy
surveillance, with the intention to clamp down on their First
Amendment right to free speech. This administration is on pace to
break even Obama’s record number of prosecutions, and has already
attained more years in prison sentences for whistleblowers than any
previous president.
This
administration has also expanded the War on Whistleblowers to
directly attack publishers and journalists, a move that even the
Obama administration ultimately backed down from. Julian Assange’s
indictment is clearly a thin pretext to punish the publication of
documents, but in so doing, alsocriminalizes
the journalistic best practices of using encryption and protecting
source anonymity. Meanwhile, Chelsea Manning has been senselessly
re-imprisoned for refusing to testify before a grand jury
investigating the Assange case, despite having already testified
publicly in her original trial.
In
short, this is the darkest moment for press freedom in the modern
era. I hope you’ll continue to support us in defending national
security whistleblowers, sources, and ultimately the free press.

volkomen belachelijke situatie waar de VS een interim-president heeft

Venezolaanse ambassade in Washington. Deze interim-president, Juan Guaidó, is een fascist die voor deze handeling van de VS, gesteund door o.a. Canada
en de EU, niet eens bekend was bij meer dan 95% van de Venezolanen……
Deze Guaidó werd door de terreuradministratie Trump, in samenwerking met diensten als de CIA en NSA, plus de onvoorwaardelijke steun van de reguliere westerse media en politici, gebombardeerd tot
oppositieleider in Venezuela……. In werkelijkheid was Guaidó de voorzitter van een
onbetekenende oppositionele splinterpartij…. Niet voor niets ook dat hij voor zijn ultieme couppoging tegen het democratisch gekozen bewind van Maduro, slechts een paar honderd mensen op straat kreeg….
Met deze
terreurdaad* van de VS tegen een soeverein land, zijn ook de
ambassades van Venezuela in het buitenland niet veilig. Het
ambassadepersoneel in Washington mag niet meer worden voorzien van
voedsel, daarvoor zorgen politie, geheime dienst en gewelddadige
Venezolanen die in de VS wonen……. Met veel geweld worden mensen
belaagd en zelfs gearresteerd, mensen die het opnemen voor het zittende
ambassade personeel en hen voedsel proberen te geven…… Intussen heeft de VS de elektriciteit en het water voor de ambassade afgesloten; de terreur van de VS kent letterlijk geen grenzen……
Zo werd Gerry Condone (van Veterans for Peace >> VFP) met fiks geweld door meerdere agenten tegen de grond gewerkt, daar hij het ambassadepersoneel een komkommer toegooide…… Voor dit feit werd hij 24 uur vastgehouden in een politiecel……. Hoe is het gvd mogelijk??!!!
Ongelofelijk
dat de VN niet al lang de VS heeft opgeroepen de Venezolaanse
soevereiniteit te respecteren en het ambassade personeel ongemoeid te
laten, zeker nu blijkt dat de bevolking van Venezuela voor het
overgrote deel nog steeds achter haar democratisch gekozen president Maduro staat……
De
schrijver van het volgende artikel, Ray McGovern, ziet voorts een
opvallende gelijkenis tussen het VS van de 21ste en het nazi-Duitse terreurbewind in de 20ste eeuw. Hiervoor citeert hij o.a. Raimond Pretzel, die schreef onder de naam Sebastian Haffner. Opvallend in dit deel van het artikel het feit dat de sociaal democratische top zich bijzonder snel aansloot bij de nazi’s, nog voordat deze partij, de SPD, werd verboden…… Maart 1933 zouden een paar miljoen Duitsers klaar zijn geweest voor de strijd tegen het nazisme, echter hun leiders lieten het afweten en collaboreerden met het nazi-geteisem, anderen ontvluchtten het land….

Clearing House” – Gerry
Condon, President of Veterans For Peace, was bloodied and “taken to
ground,” on Wednesday night for trying to get food to people inside
the Venezuelan Embassy in Washington. The activists inside, some of
whom have lived in the embassy for weeks with permission from the
Venezuelan government, are protecting the premises from protestors
who support the self-declared president Juan Guaido.
With
the acquiescence of Washington police and the Secret Service, the
protestors have been able to block food from entering the embassy.
On Wednesday night electricity was cut to the building. One
activist tossing a loaf of bread to a window was arrested earlier
this week for using a “missile.” Now Condon has been
manhandled and nabbed for throwing a cucumber.
We
are at the point Edward Snowden described as “turnkey tyranny.”
On Wednesday night the key was turned a bit more dramatically. Until
now it has been an almost imperceptibly gradual process, like the
proverbial frog in boiling water.

I am stunned. US @SecretService just slammed the head of the President of Veterans for Peace into the cement because he tried to deliver a cucumber to Embassy Protectors. They let him bleed on the ground and did not provide med. attention. @DrMFlowers had to call an ambulance.

words in this article I
wrote for Consortium
News on
December 27, 2007:
“There
are few things as odd as the calm, superior indifference with which I
and those like me watched the beginnings of the Nazi revolution in
Germany, as if from a box at the theater. … Perhaps the only
comparably odd thing is the way that now, years later….”
The
words are those of Sebastian Haffner (pen name for Raimund Pretzel),
who as a young lawyer in Berlin during the 1930s experienced the Nazi
takeover, and wrote a first-hand account.
His children found the manuscript when he died in 1999 and published
it the following year as “Geschichte eines Deutschen” (The Story
of a German).
The
book became an immediate bestseller and has been translated into 20
languages—in English as “Defying Hitler.”
I
recently learned from his daughter Sarah, an artist in Berlin,
that today is
the 100th anniversary of
Haffner’s birth. She had seen an earlier article in which I quoted
her father and e-mailed to ask me to “write some more about the
book and the comparison to Bush’s America. … This is almost
unbelievable.”
More
about Haffner below. Let’s set the stage first by recapping some of
what has been going on here in the U.S. that may have resonance for
readers familiar with the Nazi ascendancy, noting how “odd” it is
that the frontal attack on our Constitutional rights is met with such
“calm, superior indifference.”
After
suppressing for two and a half years the explosive story of the
Bush/Cheney surveillance of Americans in gross violation of the
Fourth Amendment, top New York Times officials decided to
let the rest of us in on the fact that the George W. Bush
administration had been eavesdropping on American citizens without
the court warrants required by the Foreign
Intelligence Surveillance
Act (FISA) of 1978. Not to mention the U.S. Constitution.
The Times had
learned of this well before the election in 2004 and acquiesced to
White House entreaties to suppress the damaging information.
In
late fall 2005 when Times correspondent James Risen’s
book, “State of War: the Secret History of the CIA and the Bush
Administration,” revealing the warrantless eavesdropping was being
printed, Times publisher, Arthur Sulzberger, Jr.,
recognized that he could procrastinate no longer.
It
would simply be too embarrassing to have Risen’s book on the
street, with Sulzberger and his associates pretending that this
explosive eavesdropping story did not fit Adolph Ochs’s trademark
criterion: All The News That’s Fit To Print.
(The Times’
own ombudsman, Public Editor Byron Calame, branded the newspaper’s
explanation for the long delay in publishing this story “woefully
inadequate.”)
When
Sulzberger told his friends in the White House that he could no
longer hold off on publishing in the newspaper, he was summoned to
the Oval Office for a counseling session with the president on Dec.
5, 2005. Bush tried in vain to talk him out of putting the story in
the Times.
The
truth would out; part of it, at least.
Unnamed
Program
What
followed struck me as bizarre. The day after the Dec.
16 Times feature article exposing the
Fourth-Amendment-trashing program, the president of the United States
publicly admitted to a demonstrably impeachable offense.
Authorizing
illegal electronic surveillance was a key provision of the second
article of impeachment against President Richard Nixon. On July 27,
1974, this and two other articles of impeachment were approved by
bipartisan votes in the House Judiciary Committee.
Bush
took a frontal approach, Far from expressing regret, he bragged about
having authorized the surveillance “more than 30 times since the
September the 11th attacks,” and said he would continue to do so.
The president also said:
“Leaders
in Congress have been briefed more than a dozen times on this
authorization and the activities conducted under it.”
On
Dec. 19, 2005, then-Attorney General Alberto Gonzales and then-NSA
Director Michael Hayden held a press conference to answer questions
about the as yet unnamed surveillance program.
Gonzales
was asked why the White House decided to flout FISA rather than
attempt to amend it, choosing instead a “backdoor approach.”
He answered:
“We
have had discussions with Congress…as to whether or not FISA could
be amended to allow us to adequately deal with this kind of threat,
and we were advised that that would be difficult, if not impossible.”
It
Had to Do With Us
It
was not difficult to
infer that the surveillance program must
have been of such scope and intrusiveness that, even amid highly
stoked fear, it didn’t have a prayer for passage.
It
turns out we didn’t know the half of it.
Bear
in mind that when this illegal surveillance program began, it had
nothing to do with terrorism, an issue that did not really appear on
the new administration’s radar screen until a week before 9/11. …
So this until-recently-unknown pre-9/11 facet of the “Terrorist
Surveillance Program” was not related to Osama bin Laden or to
whomever he and his associates might be speaking. It had to do with
us.
We
know that the Democrats briefed on the “Terrorist Surveillance
Program” include House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-CA, (the one with
the longest tenure on the House Intelligence Committee), Rep. Jane
Harman, D-California, and former and current chairmen of the Senate
Intelligence Committee, Bob Graham, D-FL, and Jay Rockefeller, D-WV,
respectively.
May
one interpret their lack of public comment on the news that the
snooping began well before 9/11 as a sign they were co-opted and then
sworn to secrecy?
It
is an important question. Were the appropriate leaders in Congress
informed that within days of George W. Bush’s first inauguration
the NSA electronic vacuum cleaner began to suck up information on you
and me, despite the FISA law and the Fourth Amendment?
Are
they all complicit? And are Democratic leaders about to cave in and
grant retroactive immunity to those telecommunications
corporations—AT&T and Verizon—which made millions by winking
at the law and the Constitution?
(Qwest,
to its credit, heeded the advice of its general counsel who said that
what NSA wanted done was clearly illegal.)
What’s
going on here? [December 2007] Have congressional leaders no
sense for what is at stake?
Lately
the adjective “spineless” has come into vogue in describing
congressional Democrats—no offense to invertebrates.
Nazis
and Their Enablers
You
don’t have to be a Nazi. You can just be, well, a sheep.
In
his journal, Sebastian Haffner decries what he calls the “sheepish
submissiveness” with which the German people reacted to a 9/11-like
event, the burning of the German Parliament (Reichstag) on Feb. 27,
1933.
Haffner
finds it quite telling that none of his acquaintances “saw anything
out of the ordinary in the fact that, from then on, one’s telephone
would be tapped, one’s letters opened, and one’s desk might be
broken into.”
But
it is for the cowardly politicians that Haffner reserves his most
vehement condemnation. Do you see any contemporary parallels here?
In
the elections of March 4, 1933, shortly after the Reichstag fire, the
Nazi party garnered only 44 percent of the vote. Only the “cowardly
treachery” of the Social Democrats and other parties to whom 56
percent of the German people had entrusted their votes made it
possible for the Nazis to seize full power. Haffner adds:
“It
is in the final analysis only that betrayal that explains the almost
inexplicable fact that a great nation, which cannot have consisted
entirely of cowards, fell into ignominy without a fight.”
The
Social Democratic leaders betrayed their followers—“for the most
part decent, unimportant individuals.” In May, the party leaders
sang the Nazi anthem; in June the Social Democratic party was
dissolved.
The
middle-class Catholic party Zentrum folded in less than a month, and
in the end supplied the votes necessary for the two-thirds majority
that “legalized” Hitler’s dictatorship.
As
for the right-wing conservatives and German nationalists: “Oh God,”
writes Haffner, “what an infinitely dishonorable and cowardly
spectacle their leaders made in 1933 and continued to make afterward.
… They went along with everything: the terror, the persecution of
Jews. … They were not even bothered when their own party was banned
and their own members arrested.”
In
sum: “There was not a single example of energetic defense, of
courage or principle. There was only panic, flight, and desertion. In
March 1933, millions were ready to fight the Nazis. Overnight they
found themselves without leaders. … At the moment of truth, when
other nations rise spontaneously to the occasion, the Germans
collectively and limply collapsed. They yielded and capitulated, and
suffered a nervous breakdown. … The result is today the nightmare
of the rest of the world.”
This
is what can happen when virtually all are intimidated.
Our
Founding Fathers were not oblivious to this; thus, James Madison
wrote:
“I
believe there are more instances of the abridgment of freedom of the
people by gradual and silent encroachments by those in power than by
violent and sudden usurpations. … The means of defense against
foreign danger historically have become the instruments of tyranny at
home.”
We
cannot say we weren’t warned.

Vanmorgen op BBC World Service aandacht voor het werken in gevangenissen in de VS. Gevangenen worden in feite gedwongen om mee te doen aan het fabriceren van diverse zaken in de gevangenis, daar ze anders bepaalde privileges kwijtraken…….
De gevangenen krijgen voor hun werk t.b.v. vele bedrijfstakken 90 dollarcent per uur…… Ofwel je kan dit werk niet anders aanduiden dan als slavenarbeid, uiterst wrang dan te zien, dat vooral de gekleurde minderheid oververtegenwoordigd is in die gevangenissen….. Na de afschaffing van de slavernij, in de VS zo’n 160 jaar geleden, worden nog steeds gekleurde mensen misbruikt als slaaf……
Vorig jaar was de winst op die slavenarbeid in gevangenissen: 1 miljard dollar….!!!
Het gevangeniswezen in de VS is voor het grootste deel geprivatiseerd, bedrijven zelfs met een koersnotering aan de beurs…. Niet vreemd dus dat deze bedrijven een sterke lobby hebben bij het bestuur van staten en in Washington DC voor de gehele VS, een lobby die tekeergaat als men bepaalde overtredingen, als drugsgebruik uit het strafrecht wil halen…..
Tel het voorgaande op bij het meer dan achterlijke rechtssysteem in de VS, waar je beter een misdaad kan bekennen, ook al heb je deze niet begaan, daar je anders de grote kans loopt op een veel langere gevangenisstraf, ‘plea bargain’ noemt men dit…..
Onbegrijpelijk en schandalig dat Nederland nog steeds ook eigen burgers uitlevert aan de VS met haar totaal gecorrumpeerde rechtssysteem, waar het hooggerechtshof zelfs door de opvolgende presidenten mag worden samengesteld……..
Kortom de VS dat zo vaak een grote bek heeft over de schending van mensenrechten elders, toont ten overvloede nog eens aan zelf één van de grootste mensenrechtenschenders ter wereld te zijn, dezelfde vereniging van staten, die zoveel landen in diepe ellende heeft gestort met haar grootschalige terreur (meestal gesteund door de NAVO, waarover de VS het militaire opperbevel heeft…), terroriseert ook haar eigen burgers………
Beste bezoeker, dan te bedenken dat andere westerse landen de VS nog steeds als het grote voorbeeld zien, hoe blind kan je ziende zijn….??!!!
