Prins William (Brits koningshuis) is sinds afgelopen dinsdag voor een officieel bezoek in Israël…… Hiermee steekt deze belastinguitvreter Israël nog een extra hart onder de riem n.a.v. het 70 jarige bestaan van dit gestolen land, NB met grote dank aan de Britten die veel voor de fascistische zionisten hebben gedaan, daar Palestina eertijds een Brits protectoraat was…… Om te laten zien dat Groot-Brittannië vierkant achter Israël staat, kwam William met een vliegtuig van de Britse luchtmacht, de RAF……….
Volgens BBC World Service (voor 12.30 u. CET) heeft William o.a. het museum voor de holocaust bezocht en stelde zwaar onder de indruk te zijn van de getoonde schoenen van vermoorde concentratiekampslachtoffers.
Gelukkig was er ook aandacht voor de mooie rol van het Britse koningshuis tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog: prinses Alice van Battenberg, later door haar huwelijk prinses Andreas van Griekenland, zij liet tijdens WOII een joods gezin bij haar onderduiken.
Uiteraard werd er maar geen aandacht besteed aan de nazi-sympathieën van koning Eduard VIII, je weet wel, de plork die moest aftreden vanwege een huwelijk met een eerder gescheiden vrouw. Noch werd er aandacht besteed aan de broer van William, prins Harry, die het wel leuk vindt om op feesten in nazi uniformen rond te paraderen……..
William laat ook op andere manieren zien dat hij en GB achter de fascistische apartheidsstaat Israël staan, zo heeft hij een speciale ontmoeting met Palestijnenslachter Netanyahu……
Volgens zeggen zou William ook nog de Palestijnse gebieden bezoeken, waar men mee bedoeld de door Israël illegaal bezette West Bank. Daar zal William ongetwijfeld met zalvende woorden z’n medeleven uitspreken voor het leed van de Palestijnen (die onder de smerige terreur van Israël moeten leven…… uiteraard zal William de voorafgaande woorden niet gebruiken)….. Naar de Gazastrook zal William zeker niet gaan….. Tja als je de vernietiging daar ziet en het enorme aantal vermoorde Palestijnen in gedachten neemt, kan je bijna niet anders doen dan vloeken en schelden op de fascistische zionisten…… (dat laatste is eigenlijk dubbelop, ‘maar goed..’)
Kortom Israël is dolblij: alweer kan Israël pronken met een vip die Israël bezoekt n.a.v. het 70 jarig jubileum van massamoord, standrechtelijke executies van verdachte Palestijnen (ofwel moord met voorbedachte rade), landjepik, martelen van Palestijnen (zelfs van kinderen) en hen zonder vorm van proces vasthouden……. Zoals het ‘een moderne fascistische staat’ betaamt……..
PS: vergeet niet dat GB naast Israël, innige banden onderhoudt met de reli-fascistische dictatuur Saoedi-Arabië, een bondgenoot van Israël, die bezig is met Britse hulp een genocide uit te voeren op de sjiitische bevolking van Jemen….. Overigens levert GB niet alleen wapens en militaire hardware als vliegend tuig aan Saoedi-Arabië, maar ook aan Israël, waarmee GB niet alleen medeplichtig is aan genocide, maar ook aan de onderdrukking van en de massamoord op de Palestijnen……
Het
Hebron Freedom Fund (Working for Peace and Justice) is begonnen met
een dagboek waarin zoveel mogelijk de dagelijkse ellende wordt beschreven, die
Palestijnse burgers van Hebron ondervinden van het uiterst
gewelddadige Israëlische leger en de psychopaten die zich kolonisten
noemen (en daar godbetert nog trots op zijn ook….). Beiden illegaal aanwezig op de West Bank en dus ook in en nabij Hebron………
Beste bezoeker, zoals je ongetwijfeld weet is het niet mis waar deze Palestijnse mensen mee te maken
krijgen, echter de dagelijkse werkelijkheid is nog veel erger dan je je kunt voorstellen: opsluiting in het eigen huis, blokkades waar de burgers keer
op keer worden vernederd door Israëlische militairen, ontzegging van toegang voor Palestijnse boeren tot de eigen landbouwgrond, landjepik, terreur ook door de illegale bezetters ofwel de kolonisten van de West Bank, ontvoering, gijzeling (vasthouden zonder vorm van proces, wat zelfs kinderen overkomt…..) en veel te vaak zelfs (massa-) moord……

Israeli
soldiers shot and killed a Palestinian construction worker Rami Wahid
Sabarneh.
A husband and father of four, the 37-year-old was from the
Hebron-area town of Beit Ummar. The military claimed he was
attempting to carry out a vehicular attack, a assertion witnesses
have vehemently denied. Israeli soldiers prevented an ambulance from
reaching Sabarneh to provide him with medical aid.

In
the morning Israeli Occupation Forces arrested
39-year-old Suzan Al-Oweiwi, an
elected member of the Hebron municipal council from her
house.
In
the afternoon, Israeli
settlers entered and tried to occupy a Palestinian house in the old
city of Hebron.
Thankfully, after few hours, they left the house.
In
the evening,
the Israeli Military claimed they were searching for
a “suspicious looking” Palestinian in the Tel Rumida
neighborhood, shooting
four rounds of live ammunition and two flares into the air,
one of which started a fire. During their search, they declared
the area a closed military zone, preventing
residents from adjacent neighborhoods from entering the area.
The
soldiers detained
45-year-old Ashrf Said and his young son on
their way to pray, during the holy month of Ramadan. After being
released and allowed to continue on, another soldier
threatened Said with his M16.
On
their return, father and son were again stopped. Soldiers
violently searched Said’s body.

Early
in the morning, the Israeli military welded shut the front doors of
Sami Zahda’s house,
on the beginning section of Shuhada street which Palestinians are
still able to access. Left
inside were Sami, his wife and their 3 & 4 year old sons.
The building’s landlord tried to appeal to the soldiers, explaining
that the only other exit was too dangerous to use.
Due
to pressure from the local community and human rights groups, at
4pm the soldiers finally unsealed the front door.
However,
by evening, a large group of settler children, encouraged by the
adult settler population, had congregated on the stoop of the
house, harassing
the family and the rest of the Palestinian population.
Rather than ensuring safety for all, the soldiers accommodated
the violent activities of the children and declared the entire area a
closed military zone.
Welding
shut Palestinian front doors in Hebron is part of a wider
strategy of closure and coerced resettlement spanning back 25 years
in order to kill the Palestinian identity of Hebron.

In
the early hours of the morning, the Israeli military once
again welded shut the doors of the Zahda family house,
despite protests of surrounding Palestinian families and the
illegality of these actions under international and even Israeli
law.

Israeli
soldiers threw large rocks and a bottle of juice at the Youth Against
Settlement center in Tel Rumeida. The soldiers’ actions followed a
gathering at the center for Iftar breaking of the fast.
Upping
their harassment, the Israeli Military arrested Youth Against
Settlements spokesperson Mohammad Zoghayer on his way to the center,
claiming that he appeared “suspicious.” Thankfully, he was
released the next day.
Eid
Mubarak (a happy holiday) to all

marked the Muslim holiday of Eid
al Fitr, the end
of the Ramadan holiday month and the beginning of a new year.
As
Eid approaches, the commercial streets of Hebron’s old city are
filled with uncharacteristic life (throughout the rest of the year
the devastating impact the occupation has turned the old city into a
ghost town). Families prepare for the celebration by buying new
clothes and stocking their pantries with supplies for the Eid al Fitr
feast. A favorite stop is al Sahel
al Akhdar sweets, where they’ve been producing Ramadan treats, like
these Suhoney pistachio borma, for the past 25 years.

Afgelopen donderdag bracht Middle East Eye het bericht dat de Palestijnse Autoriteit (PA)
op de West Bank solidaritetisdemonstraties van Palestijnen met hun lotgenoten in de in de Gazastrook heeft neergeslagen….. De Gazastrook ofwel de openluchtgevangenis waar de Israëlische terreurstaat sinds maart al meer dan
125 ongewapende Palestijnen heeft vermoord en duizenden mensen heeft verwond (van wie een aantal ernstig)……
De
demonstranten wijzen voorts op de Palestijnse Autoriteit die de
Palestijnse bevolking in de Gazastrook sancties heeft opgelegd. Zo
betaalde deze PA de elektriciteitslevering voor de Gazastrook niet
meer*, waar uiteraard de gewone Palestijn het meest onder lijdt…..
Niet
vreemd dus dat de protesten erop gericht zijn de sancties (want dat
zijn het) tegen de Gazastrook ofwel de blokkade van deze openluchtgevangenis** moet stoppen, zeker gezien het effect van die
sancties op de bevolking, zoals het ontbreken van elektriciteit voor het grootste
deel van de dag (nu zou er 4 uur per dag elektriciteit worden geleverd, eerder was dit 2 uur, zoals je ook in het hieronder
opgenomen artikel kan lezen)……
De
politie en veiligheidstroepen van de Palestijnse Aurtoriteit gingen
overigens met fiks geweld tekeer tegen de demonstranten……..
Jammer
dat de schrijver van het artikel niet wijst op de illegaliteit van
het presidentschapzoals
bekleed door de Palestijnse ‘president’ Abbas, wiens termijn al in 2009 afliep……. Uit angst
dat Hamas ook de macht op de West bank zou overnemen (middels verkiezingen), zijn er sinds die tijd geen

Palestinian
Authority Police Violently Suppress Protest in Solidarity With Gaza
Demonstrators
had denounced ‘shameful’ Palestinian Authority (PA) sanctions in
Gaza; activists vow that protests will continue.
(MEE) — Palestinians
reacted with anger and condemnation on Thursday to Palestinian
Authority (PA) national security forces violently repressing a
protest the night before in the West Bank city of Ramallah, during
which demonstrators had demanded to lift
punitive PA measures on the Gaza Strip.
PA
security forces used sound grenades and tear gas and shot
bullets into the air to disperse protesters, also confiscating
cameras and smartphones, damaging several while ordering journalists
not to interview demonstrators.
The
forces also arrested 46 protesters, according to the human
rights centre Addameer,
none of whom had been released at the time of publication.
Around
10 protesters were hospitalised, only to have their IDs confiscated
by the police.
On
Tuesday, just a day before the planned demonstration, the PA had
banned all forms of protests until the end of Eid al-Fitr, the Muslim
holiday at the end of the month of Ramadan, on Friday.
Protesters accused
the PA of threatening and attempting to intimidate activists
participating in the ‘Campaign to Lift PA Sanctions on Gaza’.
The
PA has not officially commented on Wednesday’s events.
Meanwhile,
the PA had also called for a counter-protest in the northern West
Bank city of Nablus to “pledge allegiance to President Abbas”,
and to “push back infiltrators and the US paid outside actors.”
Rula
Abu Dahu, the spokeswoman of the Campaign to Lift PA Sanctions on
Gaza, told Middle East Eye that the PA was collectively punishing
Gazans.
“Of
course, the Israeli occupation, which controls land, sea and air, is
responsible for the situation in Gaza. But we will not accept PA’s
sanctions on top of the Israeli siege.”
Abu
Dahu said that Wednesday’s demonstration was the first major
Palestinian protest against the Palestinian Authority’s actions in
Gaza.
“Palestinians
protest against the Israeli occupation. But people are killed in Gaza
by Israeli snipers, and you have the PA imposed sanctions on our
brothers and sisters in Gaza. It is unacceptable and shameful,” Abu
Dahu added.
‘Dayton’s
Forces’
Palestinians
on social media called the security forces who crushed Wednesday’s
protests “Dayton’s forces”, and accused them of being an
arm of both the Israeli military occupation and an extension of PA
President Mahmoud Abbas’ efforts to crush political dissent in the
West Bank.
The
term was an allusion to Keith Dayton, the former US security
coordinator for Israel and the PA. Dayton retired in 2010 from his
mission after spending five years rebuilding the National Security
Forces, which in essence serves as the Palestinian Authority’s
army.
Under
Dayton command, 3,100 of the more than 40,000 members of the PA
security forces were trained in military camps in Jordan. MEE
has not found solid evidence that the officers operating in Ramallah
on Wednesday night were in fact trained by Dayton.
One
social media user called the PA a “bunch of corrupt fascists
protected by security forces with the gang mentality of
Blackwater. These people are completely detached from the reality of
the rest of the Palestinian people.”
The
Gaza Strip, which is currently governed by the Hamas movement, has
been under an Israeli-Egyptian siege since 2007, after political
tension between Fatah and Hamas developed into military clashes which
led Hamas to expel Fatah figures from the enclave.
This
week’s protests come more than a month after the Palestinian
Authority cut in half the salaries of its estimated 50,000 employees
in the Gaza Strip without
warning.
Last
summer, the PA stopped
paying for Gaza’s electricity,
leaving the enclave’s residents with only two hours of electricity
a day – compared to a paltry eight hours previously.
Abu
Dahu said that the PA has always tried to depict the sanctions on
Gaza as punitive measures against Hamas.
“I
refuse to engage with this argument of a Fatah and Hamas conflict,
because if look closely, you will see that the PA cuts salaries of
employees that belong to Fatah in Gaza, not Hamas.” Abu Dahu said.
“Those who they are actually punishing are normal people.”

The members of the Fatah movement who participated in the repression
yesterday entered the protest with white caps on which there were a
kuffiyeh and the slogan of the Storm (Fatah
special forces): “Abu
Ammar (former
PA President Yasser Arafat) said
it… we are Fatah’s men”. The video shows them repressing and
arresting of one of the demonstration participants before turning him
over to security forces. #Liftthesanctions
Palestinian
factions including the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine
(PFLP) and Hamas, as well as Palestinian journalist and lawyer
syndicates, have issued statements condemning the violence used
against protesters.
Jama
Jumaa, a Palestinian activist who participated in the protest,
told MEE that demonstrators were demanding what the Palestinian
National Council, which last held a session in April, had already
agreed upon.
“The
national council headed by Abbas agreed to lift the PA sanctions on
people in Gaza, which is what the protesters demand,” he said.
“But
this shows you that the Palestinian Liberation Organisation’s
national council is just a facade for the PA, which has the final say
on the sanctions.”
Jumaa
added that the protests would continue after the Eid al-Fitr holiday.
“The
PA’s forces acted in a brutal, thuggish and dictatorial way last
night. Everyone is shocked. The way the security forces behaved goes
against the history of the Palestinian struggle,” Jumaa said.
He
added that Palestinian activists were studying a campaign to ask
people to stop dealing with PA forces – include police,
intelligence, presidential guards, and the national forces.
He
said that the campaign would specifically ask European countries to
stop funding these forces.
“The
US and Europe are the main funders of these forces, but 30 percent of
their budget comes from taxes paid by Palestinians in the West Bank.”
The
Campaign to Lift PA Sanctions on Gaza also condemned the PA’s use
of force and the continued implementation of sanctions.
“These
sanctions are daggers placed in the heart of our cause and our unity.
This is a dagger which accentuates division and political and social
rifts. Such acts on behalf of the PA towards Gaza are further
widening the internal political split between the two ruling parties
of the West Bank and Gaza,” it said in a statement.
The
protests come at a difficult time for 83-year-old Abbas, who was
recently hospitalised for a week with a lung infection.
Polls
show the majority of Palestinians want him to resign.
He
is also facing potential isolation after cutting off all contact with
US President Donald Trump’s administration because of its
pro-Israel bias which has seen it recognise Jerusalem as Israel’s
capital, and seek to push a so-called “deal of the century” peace
settlement on the PA leadership through pressure exerted via Saudi
Arabia.

bijna een half jaar lang zit Ahed al-Tamimi, een Palestijns meisje van
17 jaar, gevangen in een militaire gevangenis in Israël…….

persoon, in deze een zwaar bewapende militair, zich in het ziekenhuis
moest laten behandelen, nee, Ahed heeft een soldaat in het gezicht
geslagen, nadat een Israëlische militair haar neef in het gezicht
schoot met een rubberkogel, bij de zoveelste Israëlische overval in haar ouderlijk huis….. (waar de jongen een misvormd gezicht
aan over heeft gehouden….)
Intussen heeft de 17 jarige Ahed verzocht om een vervroegde vrijlating, een verzoek dat door de Israëlische ‘reclassering’ werd afgewezen……..
Ahed
zou een gevaar vormen voor Israël……. ha! ha! ha! ha! Typisch een
uiterst laf Israëlisch excuus dat kant noch wal raakt en dat in een land dat werd gestolen van de
Palestijnen……. Een uitspraak van een land dat zich bezighoudt met
apartheid en ronduit fascistische onderdrukking op de Palestijnen (waar Israëlische officieren nog
in de 90er jaren werden onderwezen uit het SS handboek, bijvoorbeeld
voor het controleren van een getto…… Door klokkenluidende
officieren naar buiten gebracht)
Afgelopen week werd een 21 jarige neef van Ahed neergeschoten, zijn familie werd 30 minuten lang verboden hem naar het ziekenhuis te brengen, waarna deze neef overleed, ofwel de zoveelste moord op naam van het Israëlische terreurleger (IDF)…..
Intussen zijn er sinds medio maart meer dan 130 Palestijnen vermoord door het Israëlische leger en zijn er vele duizenden gewonden gevallen onder ongewapende demonstranten…… Onder de doden een aantal kinderen, journalisten en medische hulpverleners, waaronder een arts……. De laatste 2 groepen, dus de journalisten en medisch hulpverleners waren duidelijk te herkennen aan hun kleding, bovendien waren ze bezig hulp te verlenen, me dunkt een enorme oorlogsmisdaad en een misdaad tegen de menselijkheid…. Gisteren heeft Israël zelfs met traangasgranaten op ambulances geschoten…….
Wat een vuile laffe honden, gadver!! (excuus aan de viervoeters, zij zijn edele dieren vergeleken bij deze zionistische zwijnen >> en excuus aan de zwijnen natuurlijk!)
Hoe is het mogelijk dat de EU n.a.v. het aanrichten van bloedbaden (massamoord) onder ongewapende Palestijnse demonstranten, Israël niet aan de paal heeft genageld wegens ongebreidelde terreur en aan de hand daarvan geen boycot en sancties heeft afgekondigd tegen de fascistische apartheidsstaat Israël?? Israel
Rejects Palestinian Teen Ahed Tamimi’s Request for Early Release
(MEMO) — A
parole board in the Rimonim prison rejected a request filed by
detained Palestinian teen Ahed Tamimi’s lawyer to reduce her
sentence and grant her early release.
Israel’s Channel
10 reported that Tamimi, who was sentenced in March to eight
months in prison, filed a request to be released before serving the
last third of the sentence, but a parole board rejected the request.
The
channel added that the Israeli public security service, Shin Bet, had
recommended earlier that Tamimi not be released early under
the pretext that she has “dangerous ideology” and
she should remain in prison for deterrence purposes.
During
her parole session, Tamimi stressed: “I will get out of prison with
my head up,” the
channel
reported.
Ahed
Tamimi was arrested on
19 December 2017, after her mother Nariman posted footage online of
the teenager confronting Israeli soldiers in the family’s backyard.
The
teen was convicted on four of the 12 charges against her including
incitement, aggravated assault and two counts of obstructing Israeli
soldiers. She was handed an eight-month
prison term following
a plea bargain.
Her
mother Nariman was sentenced to eight months in prison in addition to
a fine of 6,000 shekels ($1,724) and a three-year suspended sentence
for assisting in assaulting a soldier, obstructing a soldier and
incitement. Ahed’s cousin, Noor, was fined 2,000 shekels ($575).
Earlier
this week, Ahed’s cousin, 21-year-old Izz Al-Din Tamimi, was shot
dead by
Israeli soldiers in the occupied West Bank village of Nabi Saleh.
Activists said that Israeli occupation forces prevented Palestinian
medical teams from reaching the youth to help him before he was taken
away by the soldiers, according to WAFA.
Nadat
Israël meer dan 100 ongewapende Palestijnen vermoordde (waaronder 3 kinderen, 2 journalisten en duidelijk herkenbare medische hulpverleners, inclusief een
arts) en meer dan 3.000 Palestijnen (zwaar) gewond raakten door geweervuur, kwam de Israëlische regering met een plan
voor 2.500 nieuwe huizen op de illegaal door Israël bezette West
Bank…..
Het voornemen van de fascistische apartheidsstaat Israël gaat lijnrecht in tegen eerder gemaakte afspraken in 2016 zoals vastgelegd in de resolutie 2334 van de VN Veiligheidsraad…… Al moet ik daar wel bij opmerken dat Israël zich daar eerder schuldig aan heeft gemaakt, dus nadat die resolutie werd aangenomen.
Ofwel
Israël heeft schijt aan de rest van de wereld en al helemaal aan de
Palestijnen, er wordt in de regering Netanyahu al ernstig gesproken
over het Palestijnen probleem……. Lullig genoeg stellen westerse regeringen keer op keer dat men geen sancties moet nemen tegen Israël, daar dit het ‘vredesproces’ zou verstoren, terwijl Israël niet anders doet dan dit proces verstoren…….. (en dan is ‘verstoren’ een eufemisme voor de enorme terreur van Israël tegen de weerloze Palestijnen……)
De Palestijnse minister van Buitenlandse Zaken heeft intussen een aanklacht ingediend bij het Internationaal Strafhof (ICC) in Den Haag, dit n.a.v. de ongebreidelde terreur van Israël tegen ongewapende Palestijnen in de Gazastrook, mensen die demonstreerden i.h.k.v. de Great Return March en de al-Nakba herdenking. Volgens deze minister maakt Israël zich schuldig aan misdaden tegen de menselijkheid…….* (daar valt niets tegen in te brengen!) Uiteraard heeft Israël hier fel op gereageerd en zegt dat deze aanklacht wal noch kant raakt, maar ja dat was van te voren uit te tekenen

violation of a 2016 UNSC resolution. It comes just days after the IDF
killed dozens of Palestinians protesting the Israeli occupation.
Israel’s
Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman said on Thursday that he was
finalizing plans for the construction of new homes in Jewish
settlements in the occupied West Bank.
Writing
on Twitter, Lieberman said he would seek approval for the project
next week, expressing hope that the regional planning board – the
High Planning Council in Judea and Samaria – would designate 1,400
of the housing units for immediate construction.
“We
will promote building in all of Judea and Samaria, from the north to
south, in small communities and in large ones,”Liberman
wrote, using the Biblical names for the West Bank. Some 500,000
Israelis already live in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.

The
pending construction project is in direct violation of UN Security
Council Resolution 2334. Adopted in December 2016, the resolution
states that Israel’s settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem
constitute a “flagrant
violation”of
international law and have “no
legal validity.”
Earlier
this week, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry called on the
International Criminal Court to open a probe into Israel’s illegal
settlements, calling Tel Aviv’s actions “crimes against
humanity.”
The
settlements are “the
single most dangerous threat to Palestinian lives, livelihoods, and
national rights,” the
ministry said in a statement released on Facebook. Israel dismissed
the Palestinian statement as “cynical” and
claimed the request to the ICC had no legal validity.
The
project marks the latest Israeli action to come under international
scrutiny. This month, Israel welcomed the relocation of the American,
Paraguayan and Guatemalan embassies from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem – a
move that has been widely condemned by the international community.
In
December, the United Nations General Assembly voted by 128 to 9
to declare the United States’ controversial decision to recognize
Jerusalem as Israel’s capital “null
and void.”
Lieberman’s
announcement also comes just a week after month-long Palestinian
protests,
known
as the Great March of Return, near the Gaza border. During the
opening ceremony of the US embassy in Jerusalem, violence peaked to a
level unseen in previous weeks.
Some 60 Palestinian protesters were
killed and more than 2,000 were injured by Israeli forces.

Israël verkoopt haar drones ook aan andere landen, zoals Duitsland, Birma (daar worden ze gebruikt gebruikt in de strijd tegen de Rohingya) en het agressieve Zuid-Soedan, uiteraard wordt ook de truc met traangas (of een nog gevaarlijker gas) desgevraagd meegeleverd…….

Drones
over Gaza: How Israel tested its latest technology on protesters
The
mismatch between Palestinian protesters and Israeli forces has often
been likened to David and Goliath. Now, Goliath doesn’t even need
to enter the field of combat.
In
a new innovation, small drones have been used by Israel’s military
to drop tear gas on Palestinian protests along the Gaza Strip’s
border with Israel and in the occupied West Bank.
First
seen in early March, when Lebanon’s
Al-Mayadeen TV filmed
a group of protesters in Gaza as they were targeted by one, the
gas-carrying drones were used heavily in protests in the coastal
enclave and the occupied West Bank on Monday and Tuesday.
There
appear to be three types of drones being used to disperse the gas.
The
first, developed by Israeli company ISPRA and known as the “Cyclone
Riot Control Drone System”, is a small drone with rotas that
carries a box containing nine light aluminium cartridges which burn
up after they are released.
However,
two other models appear to have been used, which experts told MEE
have never been seen before.
One
is a drone that releases gas directly from the craft, like an
aerosol, dispersing a cloud on those below.
The
other, a potentially far more dangerous device, is a helicopter-style
drone which carries rubber bursting grenades with metal tops that
disperse gas as they fall.

As
the Great March of Return protests came to a crescendo earlier this
week, the third type of drone became by far the most regularly used
of the three, according to experts spoken to by MEE.

This
drone does not appear to be a sophisticated device.
“It’s
more sophisticated [than a commercial drone] – it’s not something
that you would buy cheaply on Amazon, but I think it’s not far from
it,” Itay Mack, an Israeli human rights lawyer and activist who
tracks Israel’s military exports, told MEE.
The
drone appears to be fitted with a spring-loaded rack, which opens to
drop a number of tear gas grenades.
“I
think the pins are manually pulled from the grenades when they are
secured in the rack before takeoff,” James Bevan, executive
director of Conflict Armament Research, told MEE.
The
rack is then released once the drone is positioned over the area
where the controller wishes to disperse the gas.
“It
may be something as simple as a retracting pin attached to a
servomotor, which is wired into the drone’s circuits,” Bevan says.
“This is what Islamic State [IS] used in Iraq and Syria.”
According
to Bevan, IS is the only group for which there is physical evidence
of these small, helicopter-type drones’ use in combat situations,
mostly seen in Iraq’s Mosul and Syria’s Tal Afar.
“We
see drone use in other theatres, including by non-state groups, but
these have been military fixed-wing drones,” he said.
New
range, new danger
Monday’s
demonstrations in Gaza coincided with the ceremony marking the
official opening of the United States’ new embassy in Jerusalem
while Tuesday’s protests marked 70 years since the Palestinian Nakba
– or Catastrophe – when 750,000 Palestinians were forced from their
homes in historic Palestine in 1948.
Over
the two days, 62 Palestinians were killed by live fire or tear gas
inhalation, as Israeli forces attempted to quell the protests.
At
least 980 Palestinians were wounded by tear gas dropped on the
protests on Monday, Gaza’s health ministry said, including many
minors.
The
drones have given the Israeli forces new range. Previously, gas
canisters had only been fired into the Gaza Strip from vehicles on
the Israeli side of the divide.
The
large fence that separates the besieged enclave from Israel restricts
the military’s ability to fire gas across the border, unlike in the
West Bank where soldiers often fire the canisters from specially
equipped rifles.
Israeli
forces rarely make ground incursions into the Gaza Strip, which they
pulled out of in 2005, while they maintain a significant presence the
occupied West Bank.
This
new range has allowed the Israelis to target areas far from the
flashpoint border area, places more likely to be populated by
families, minors and the elderly.
Gas
a threat to the vulnerable
“The
problem with gas grenades is they are especially dangerous to small
children and elderly people,” Mack said.
The
gas can be fatal in two ways: suffocation and overdosing on the
chemicals used.
The
deaths of several Palestinians in the West Bank has been linked to
tear gas inhalation in recent years. In 2015 an eight-month-old
baby in
the village of Beit Fajjar died after soldiers fired tear gas into
his home
And
in 2014, Palestinian minister Ziad
Abu Ein died
from complications related to tear gas inhalation after attending a
protest near the village of Turmusaya.
A
report last year described the Aida refugee camp in the southern West
Bank as the “community most exposed to tear gas in the world”.
Reports
emerged on Tuesday that an eight-month-old baby, Leila al-Ghandour,
was also killed by tear gas in the Gaza Strip. She is said to have
been exposed to the gas while at a protest site far from the Israeli
separation fence, though at the time of publication this could not be
independently verified by MEE.
Indiscriminate
projectiles
Though
made of rubber, the gas grenades dropped from the drones are weighty
and have a metal top.
The
Israeli military has regulations banning firing such projectiles
directly at people. Gas canisters fired from specially fitted rifles
are particularly dangerous at short range.
The
long-range 40mm grenade launchers used by Israel are also considered
dangerous because they can be fired with only limited accuracy.

A
spokesman from Omega
Research Foundation (ORF Ltd), which researches the manufacture, trade in and use of, military,
security and police technologies, told MEE that drones can be used to
increase accuracy when dispersing tear gas.
“On
a purely technical level, the drones can hover at a safe height to
drop the grenades and target individuals that pose a threat,” the
spokesman, who wished to remain anonymous, said.
However,
video footage of this week’s protests appears to show the canisters
dropping from a considerable height, reducing accuracy and increasing
the risk of head injuries.
Not
a threat
Israel
has repeatedly accused the protesters in Gaza of attempting to cross
the border fence and lay explosives in Israeli territory. It says the
use of live fire and tear gas is justified by the threat protesters
pose by breaching the barrier.
Israeli
police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld told the AFP news agency previously
that the drones have “the capability of flying over certain zones
and certain areas and then letting go of tear gas in areas that we
want to prevent protesters from reaching”.
However,
MEE reporters in Gaza and the West Bank and videos emerging online
suggest Israeli forces targeted areas far from the border area and
people who did not appear to pose a threat.

On
Monday, an MEE reporter was gassed by a drone along with several
other members of the media. The area targeted was clearly populated
by many journalists, with vehicles prominently displaying “Press”.
Video
footage also showed a drone dropping gas on a communal tent full of
women and children, apparently more than metres from the border.

The
deployment of gas grenades from above appears in some situations to
have sown confusion and fear among crowds, rather than dispersing
them to other locations.
In
a demonstration on Tuesday near the illegal Israeli settlement Beit
El in the West Bank at least four drones deployed gas directly onto
protesters.
A
20-year-old protester there, who wished to remain anonymous, told MEE
that “panic ensued” when the drones appeared in the sky.
“People
were running in all directions unsure of where to go as the drones
hovered above our heads waiting to drop tear gas,” the protester
told MEE.
“The
Israelis have only begun using these drones in the last few weeks.
They are indiscriminate, and show no mercy.”
According
to Gabriel Avner, an Israeli security consultant, Israel’s policy
in Gaza is a departure from its usual crowd-control methods.
“The
situation in Gaza right now is completely different to what is
happening anywhere else… they’re thinking of this as a
full-on conflict zone,” he told MEE.
“There
is some cause for concern because the rules of engagement are
hard-coded,” he said, adding that the Israeli military needed to
make sure soldiers were properly trained to understand the potential
consequences when new technology such as this is introduced.
‘Kite
terrorism’
The
use of drones is not limited to dispersing tear gas, however.
Some
Palestinians have been flying kites across the border, often
incendiary ones carrying burning coals with the objective of starting
bush fires in Israeli territory.
According
to Israeli daily Haaretz,
the Israeli military has enlisted amateur racer drones to intercept
the kites, using the rotas and fish hooks attached to the crafts to
cut their cords and send them off course.

The
drones intercepting the kites are operated by hobbyists, and can
reach speeds of 110 metres per second, Haaretz reported.
One
of the kites that reached the Israeli side of the divide carried a
suspected remote-controlled bomb, the paper reported.
While
the device did not explode, and police sappers said it may have been
a dud or a fake, the paper speculated it could herald a new phase
along the border of what it called “kite terrorism”.
Many
of the kites are harmless, however, with protesters often using them
to fly the Palestinian flag.
If
not intercepted by drones, these kites are often shot down using live
fire.
Technology
to sell
Israel
is one of the world’s leading countries in drone technology.
It
has been using unmanned aerial vehicles since the late 1970s, when
they were used by the military for surveillance in south Lebanon, and
were widely deployed in Israel’s 1982 invasion of its neighbour to
the north.
Mack,
the human rights lawyer, noted that Israel has previously used
conflicts to showcase its weaponry with the intention of selling it
on.
Israel
sells its arms and technology to many countries. Last month
the German
Defence Ministry announced
its intention to sign a $1bn contract with Israel Aerospace
Industries to lease unmanned aerial vehicles.
Tel
Aviv has been criticised for selling
weaponry to
governments with poor human rights records, most
recently Myanmar,
which has reportedly bought Israeli military equipment as it conducts
an operation against the Rohingya minority. The Myanmar government’s
assault against Rohingya communities has been widely described as
ethnic cleansing.
Israeli
company Global
Group also
sold surveillance drones to the beleaguered and cash-strapped
government of South Sudan for millions of dollars in December.
The
South Sudanese government’s forces have been accused by the UN of
serious human rights abuses since its civil war broke out in 2013.
The
Israeli military’s use of drones to drop gas in Gaza and the West
Bank suggests that the models sold to South Sudan could equally be
adapted to release tear gas or other payloads.
“Larger
commercial drones … are designed to carry a range of payloads
(large cameras for sports events, crop-spraying attachments), so are
designed to operate payload functions remotely. This would be very
easy to configure,” Bevan said.

over de VS, een ‘land’ waarvan de opvolgende regeringen keer op keer

Gives Murderous Saudi Crown Prince the Red Carpet Treatment
(ANTIMEDIA)—Saudi
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) recently met with leaders of a
number of right-wing Jewish organizations, including the notorious
pro-Israel lobby AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee),
according to aleaked
copyof
his itinerary obtained by Haaretz.
Aside
from AIPAC, MBS also met with a number of other groups that
have donated millions
to illegal settlement building. These groups are also responsible for
launching efforts to quash the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions
(BDS) movement and include the likes of the Anti-Defamation League
(ADL) and the Jewish Federation of North America (JFNA), as well
leaders from the Conference of Presidents, B’nai B’rith, and the
American Jewish Committee (AJC).
If
ever proof was needed that Saudi Arabia has completely abandoned the
Palestinian people in favor of its longstanding commitment to focus
its resources on its regional power struggle against Iran, this is
it. AIPAC is one of the primary
backers of legislation in
the U.S. that seeks to target and stifle BDS,
allegedly spending millions in the process.
Between
2012 and 2015, JFNA reportedly gave
almost $6 million to advance illegal Israeli settlements, allegedly
also aiding Jewish families suspected or convicted of violence
against Palestinian people.
This
latest development is part of an overall
pattern of
a continued
strengthening of ties between
Israel and Saudi Arabia (even though Saudi Arabia technically doesn’t
recognize Israel as a state). What we should worry about, however, is
the likelihood that Saudi Arabia will be expecting something from
Israel in return for MBS’ newfound partnership with Israel, and it
shouldn’t be too hard to venture a guess as to what that something
is.

Arabia will only be able to destabilize Lebanon if it works with
Israel, the only country with the military capabilities to threaten
Lebanon’s fragile peace. Will Mohammed bin Salman go as far as
striking a deal with Israel in which he offers full normalisation in
return for Israel destroying Hezbollah and Iran in Lebanon?”
As
the Saudi-Israel alliance solidifies, expect things to heat up in
both Syria and Lebanon. The most direct way of countering Iran’s
expanding influence without going to war with Iran on Iranian soil is
through these latter two countries, and Saudi
Arabia has
had its sights set on both of them for a long time now — as has
Israel.
On
another note, MBS is also reportedly set to meet with Oprah Winfrey
and has already met with Bill and Hillary Clinton, Senator Chuck
Schumer, U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, alleged war
criminal Henry Kissinger, former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg,
the New
York Times’ Thomas
Friedman, Rupert Murdoch, CIA director Mike Pompeo (who is next in
line for the position of secretary of state), Vice President Mike
Pence, Defense Secretary James Mattis, and Jared Kushner, who MBS
allegedly bragged about
having “in his pocket.”
He
is also set to meet renowned business leaders such as Bill Gates,
Elon Musk, Peter Thiel, Apple’s Tim Cook, and the CEOs of
Microsoft, Boeing, Amazon, Uber, the Walt Disney Company and Lockheed
Martin (no surprises
on that last one).
