Bolsonaro, de fascistische nieuwe president van Brazilië, werd volgens Avaaz en fake news brengers als de NYT gekozen door manipulatie via WhatsApp

De
hypocrisie van media als de New York Times (NYT) kent geen grenzen
meer, zelf brengen ze keer op keer fake news (nepnieuws), waar ze de
sociale media van beschuldigen. terwijl ze nu weer met de vieze
vingers wijzen naar de winnaar van de Braziliaanse verkiezingen, de
fascist Bolsonaro…..

Volgens
deze media en actiegroep Avaaz, heeft Bolsonaro de Braziliaanse verkiezingen kunnen winnen door
fake news (nepnieuws) en andere leugens te verspreiden via Facebooks WhatsApp…. Vreemd
genoeg hebben deze media nooit moeite gehad met het uiterst
gewelddadige neokoloniale gedrag van de VS in Latijns-Amerika, waar
men nu moord en brand roept en eist dat Zuckerberg een filter inbouwt
op nieuws gebracht via WhatsApp…..

Het
interesseert de reguliere (massa-) media geen bal dat Bolsonaro de verkiezingen won, Bolsonaro, de fascist die
het liefst weer een dictatuur zou invoeren in Brazilië en daarnaast
het liefst heel het Amazonegebied zou bulldozeren…. Nee,
middels de verkiezingen in Brazilië willen deze media nog meer
censuur op de sociale media introduceren, terwijl de grote platforms
als Facebook en Twitter de fake news berichten van diezelfde
reguliere media gewoon blijven plaatsen………

Avaaz is
een actiegroep die zich meermaals heeft getoond als een lobbyorgaan
voor VS/NAVO terreur in Syrië en de economische oorlog van de VS tegen Venezuela, nu roept dus ook Avaaz op tot
censuur (wat deze groep al eerder heeft gedaan…)….

Het gaat er wat betreft verkiezingen in feite niet om fake news tegen te gaan, er moet eindelijk internationale wetgeving
worden gemaakt, waarbij het uiterst welgestelde figuren en (grote)
bedrijven wordt verboden geld te steken in verkiezingen, uiteraard met
een straf die in verhouding staat tot het vermogen, dit daar een boete van een paar
miljoen voor een miljardair, of een groot bedrijf, totaal geen
probleem is….. Ofwel: de boete dient zo hoog te zijn, dat men nog
amper geld overhoudt……. Kan het volk in de VS eindelijk meedoen
aan echte democratische verkiezingen!!

Beste
bezoeker: niet tekenen deze petitie, vandaar dat ik geen links naar
de actie heb opgenomen, waar Avaaz je maant om te klikken zodat de sociale media ‘schoon gemaakt kunnen worden…..’ Alsof men bij Avaaz niet begrijpt dat vooral de echte berichtgeving op de sociale media (nu al) de klos is van de roep om censuur…… (zie de links onderaan in dit bericht)

Avaaz kan beter een petitie maken tegen de
enorme bedragen die door grote bedrijven en welgestelde individuen
aan verkiezingen worden besteed en waarmee verkiezingen wel worden
gekocht en waarmee het volk daadwerkelijk wordt gemanipuleerd, neem de VS….. 

Onbegrijpelijk ook dat men zich druk maakt
om Russiagate, één grote leugen* waar nog geen flinter aan bewijs voor werd geleverd, maar het tegelijkertijd wel normaal vindt dat grote
bedrijven en miljardairs de verkiezingen kunnen manipuleren met
enorme bedragen (veelal aftrekbaar van de belastingen), waarmee ze godbetert ook nog eens de eigen belangen
behartigen, voor de periode na de verkiezingen, althans als de door hun zwaar gesubsidieerde (ofwel omgekochte) kandidaat wint……. Vandaar ook dat grote bedrijven veelal zowel de republikeinse als de ‘democratische kandidaat’ steunen……

Zuckerberg sat back as rich
companies illegally spent millions to flood the messaging platform
with fake news and
hate speech — until the country trusted a fringe fascist more than
anyone else.

Zuckerberg could have stopped it early and
informed users. He didn’t. Now
it’s on us to use this moment to shame Facebook into taking
responsibility for
fake news and hate speech spreading on its platforms — and end it
before more men like Brazil’s President take control of our
democracies and our future: 
WhatsApp
is a fake news paradise: it’s fully encrypted and nobody knows
what’s going on. In Brazil, it was only after millions of people had
already been conned by fake news that journalists started to notice!
But there is a way out: convince
WhatsApp to introduce fake-news filters that can be activated by
users that alert
them to potential disinformation.

For this to work the
platform may need to allow users to make encryption optional, a
solution that would both protect our democracy and our
privacy.

The amount
of fake news currently spreading on all of our social networks is
creating a vast and staggering global crisis. Facebook
continues to have hundreds of millions of active fake accounts!
YouTube has 2 billion (!) account-holders watching up to an hour a
day, but researchers say its algorithms are driving people to watch
extremist, racist, and malicious content.

That’s
why our
movement is fighting back —
urging social media platforms, including WhatsApp, to stand up for
citizens, democracies, and real information.

ThinkProgress eiste censuur van Facebook en werd inderdaad gecensureerd…. ha! ha! ha! ha!

Eén van de verdedigers van het neoliberale establishment, ThinkProgress heeft
vorige maand een artikel van Casey Michel gepubliceerd waarin Caitlin
Johnstone werd uitgemaakt voor Iraanse trol… ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Michel reageerde niet één
keer op aan hem gerichte berichten van Johnstone, waarin ze uitlegt dat
e.e.a. nonsens is.

In
het artikel stelde Michel dat nep-accounts op Facebook niet alleen
uit Rusland komen,
maar ook uit Iran……. (valt me nog mee dat hij Noord-Korea niet in één
moeite mee heeft genomen) Voorts loofde Michel de pogingen van Facebook
Iraanse propaganda te weren van haar ‘platform’*, maar heeft eerder Facebook en Twitter meermaals gewaarschuwd actie te ondernemen tegen
dergelijke (Russische) beïnvloeding via accounts op hun sites.

Nu
is ThinkProgress dus zelf aan de beurt en wordt van Facebook geweerd,
dit voor een artikel over Brett Kavanaugh, de ultrarechtse schoft en favoriete kandidaat van Trump voor het hooggerechtshof. De Weekly Standard doet het feiten controleren (fact checking) voor Facebook en vond het bewuste artikel met ‘fake news’ over Kavanaugh.  

Volgens Johnstone zal het weren van
ThinkProgress op Facebook niet van lange duur zijn. Jonhstone heeft verder geen leedvermaak over deze zaak en ze stelt dan ook terecht dat Facebook zich niet heeft te bemoeien met
wat er wordt gezegd op dat platform, al is ze uiteraard tegen het
oproepen tot geweld.

Atlantic Council, de ‘psyops‘ fabriek van de NAVO, die samen met de Weekly Standard de censuur regelt op Facebook…… Volkomen terecht
pleit Johnstone voor een volledig vrij internet, waar de plutocraten van Silicon Valley, de NAVO en andere (censuur) organen of lijpe psychopaten als Kristol geen
zeggenschap hebben over wat er wel of niet geschreven of getoond mag worden (uiteraard met uitzondering van [kinder] porno en oproepen tot het plegen van geweld**):

Censored By Facebook After Cheerleading Facebook Censorship

In an
article last month titled
“Facebook announces that fake accounts are now coming not just from
Russia”, fauxgressive establishment apologia
firm ThinkProgress falsely
reported that
I have been writing for an outlet that is alleged to be part of an
Iranian propaganda campaign. I repeatedly
brought this
false claim to the attention of Casey Michel, the article’s author,
telling him that ten seconds of research or any attempt to contact me
would have shown him that the articles published by the outlet in
question were just reblogs of earlier publications from my platform,
but Michel ignored the many notifications he received from myself and
my Twitter followers and went on merrily interacting with other
posters. As of this writing, the article remains uncorrected. 

In
the article, Michel documented Facebook’s heroic efforts to shut
down alleged Iranian propaganda outlets, ominously warning his
readers that “Russia is by no means the only foreign adversary
exploiting social media’s inherent openness.” In other articles
for ThinkProgress,
Michel is repeatedlyseen wagging
his finger at
Facebook and Twitter for not doing more to censor “Russian
propaganda”, and in a
July article titled
“Facebook says both sides share fake news, defends Infowars’
presence on its platform — Mark Zuckerberg has an interesting way
of prioritizing ‘high quality news’” another ThinkProgress author
criticized Facebook for not censoring Alex Jones. Jones was censored
by Facebook the following month.

So
I think it’s understandable that those of us who have
been warning of
the dangers
of internet censorship find
it a bit funny to see ThinkProgress now
complaining that
it has been censored by Facebook.

Facebook’s idea of ‘fact-checking’: Censoring ThinkProgress because conservative site told them to

A perfect example of how Facebook is catering to conservatives.

ThinkProgress reports that
its traffic from Facebook has been slashed by eighty percent due to a
“fact check” by the Weekly
Standard which,
through a series of moronic mental contortions,
found ThinkProgress guilty
of reporting fake news about Brett Kavanaugh of all things. In a
twist of irony which would be delicious if it weren’t so
disgusting, the Weekly
Standard is
one of Facebook’s authorized “fact checkers”, and happens to be
the brainchild of none other than bloodthirsty psychopath and
rehabilitated #Resistance hero Bill Kristol.

ThinkProgress is
part of a very large and diverse branch of progressive punditry whose
ultimate job is to help centrist empire loyalists feel like leftist
revolutionaries, and since 2016 one of the many appalling
consequences of this bizarre environment has been the embracing of
Iraq-raping neoconservatives like Kristol and Max Boot by Democratic
Party loyalists. In a bid to stay relevant despite having been
consistently wrong about literally everything in foreign policy for
the last two decades, these murderous ghouls have repackaged
themselves as
a woke, cuddly alternative to the Trumpian faction of the Republican
Party, and have been rewarded for their efforts with regular
platforms on MSNBC and the Washington
Post (WaPo).

So
with ThinkProgress getting
censored by Facebook, you really couldn’t ask for a more clear-cut
case of reaping what you sow. Nevertheless, it is wrong for anyone to
be deprived of political speech, even if much of their political
speech consists of attempts to silence the political speech of
others. And if there is anything more gross than political speech
being regulated by Silicon Valley plutocrats and a
NATO psyop factory,
it’s political speech being regulated by Silicon Valley
plutocrats, a NATO psyop factory, and Bill
Kristol. ThinkProgress should
not have its audience restricted.

All
the “let me help you cheer for the establishment while pretending
to oppose it” pundits who celebrated Alex Jones’ coordinated
de-platforming last month are falling all over themselves to spin
this new development in a way that allows them to feel as though they
aren’t being proven wrong day after day after day, but of course
they are. Facilitating the censorship of anyone’s speech is
facilitating the censorship of your own speech in the long run, and
we’re not even having to wait long to see it this time around. In a
corporatist system of government, corporate censorship is state
censorship; the massive new media corporations being implored to
regulate which political speech gets an audience and which doesn’t
have extensive
ties to secretive government agencies and
a vested interest in maintaining the status quo.

I
do not expect ThinkProgress to
remain on Facebook’s restricted list for long; the real targets of
internet censorship are not partisan outlets which prop up
establishment politics and help legitimize America’s two-headed one
party system. But that isn’t the point. The point is that Silicon
Valley plutocrats, the NATO propaganda firm Atlantic Council, and
the Weekly
Standard should
not be determining who gets an audience in the new media environment
and who doesn’t. Nothing that has anything to do with Bill Kristol
should ever have any power over anyone. If our choices are between
letting people think for themselves and letting the guy who’s
always wrong about everything determine what shows up in people’s
news feed, the choice is obviously the one which doesn’t involve
placing faith in the man who helped deceive America into butchering a
million Iraqis***.

*** Het dodenaantal in Irak sinds de VS een illegale oorlog tegen dat land startte in 2003 (met politieke en militaire steun van o.a. Nederland) ligt al boven de 1,5 miljoen vermoorden…. (!!!)

Saoedische
aanklagers willen dat een sjiitische vrouw, die openlijk kritiek gaf
op de reli-fascistische Saoedische dictatuur (deze woorden zou de
vrouw niet eens hebben durven gebruiken) wordt onthoofd……
Daarmee zouden deze aanklagers meteen ‘een mooie primeur’ hebben,
nooit eerder werd er een vrouw onthoofd in Saoedi-Arabië……

Niet dat de vrouw geweld heeft gebruikt, nee ze gaf alleen kritiek op de Saoedische onderdrukking van sjiieten in S-A…….

Naast
de vrouw willen deze aanklagers de doodstraf voor nog eens 4 mensen
die vreedzaam kritiek hebben geleverd op de Saoedische dictatuur (de
hoogste tijd voor een staatsbezoek aan S-A van ons nationale waterhoofd
W.A. en zijn pampakoningin Maxima, het koningshuis onderhoudt immers vriendelijke banden met de Saoedische reli-fascistische dictatuur….)

Om
een golf van protest te voorkomen op Facebook, heeft het bedrijf van
superschoft Zuckerberg een groot aantal accounts verwijderd van haar
platform…… De namen van de accounts werden door privé
veiligheidsorganisatie FireEye in de VS doorgegeven aan Facebook…….. FireEye is een bedrijf dat nauw samenwerkt met het
Pentagon……..

Facebook verdedigt haar stappen door te stellen dat de de accounts zijn verbonden aan Iran, ofwel Facebook ‘bevecht de invloed van Iran….’ ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Uiteraard zijn daar totaal geen bewijzen voor, het gaat puur en alleen om kritiek op Saoedi-Arabië van het net te weren, iets dat Facebook ook doet met accounts waar kritiek wordt geleverd op de fascistische apartheidsstaat Israël en accounts waar men het opneemt voor het zwaar verdrukte Palestijnse volk…….. 

Het is duidelijk dat deze censuur, die eerder werd ingesteld op sites die ‘pro-Russisch’ zijn, is ingegeven om de huidige inhumane neoliberale status quo te handhaven en mede de reguliere (massa-) media te beschermen als deze voor de zoveelste keer ‘fake news’ (nepnieuws) brengen, of op andere manieren de lezer dusdanig te beïnvloeden dat deze geen vragen meer stelt als bijvoorbeeld de VS of andere partijen die men steunt, hun zoveelste oorlogsmisdaad begaan

Niet alleen Facebook maakt zich schuldig aan deze niet anders dan als censuur aan te duiden maatregelen, ook Twitter, Google en YouTube doen hier aan mee…….

Ongelofelijk
dat men de leugens van de Saoedische slachter bin Salman, ofwel ‘MBS’ gelooft en denkt dat S-A onder zijn leiderschap tot een
verlichte dictatuur zal worden omgevormd……

De
VS en de rest van het westen, blijven ondanks alles de Saoedische beesten de hand boven het hoofd
houden en laat deze barbaarse dictatuur begaan bij de vreselijkste terreur die je maar kan
bedenken: het uitvoeren van een genocide in buurland Jemen, sterker
nog de VS (en GB) helpt daar op veel manieren aan mee en zonder de VS zou S-A

(GPA) — Saudi
prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for a 29-year-old woman
activist for crimes such as chanting slogans at a protest. Beheading
a woman is unprecedented in the kingdom. Meanwhile, Facebook has
sprung into action to protect Riyadh’s back by initiating a
crackdown on hundreds of accounts posting anti-Saudi content.

  • Saudi
    prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for five activists with
    non-violent charges.

  • All
    of the activists belong to the kingdom’s historically oppressed
    Shia minority. One is a woman.

  • Facebook
    has coincidentally begun removing anti-Saudi accounts under the
    guise of fighting “Iranian interference.”

  • A
    private cybersecurity firm with ties to the US military tipped off
    Facebook to the accounts.

Saudis
Seek First Death by the Sword for Woman Activist

One
of these activists includes a woman named Israa al-Ghomgham who
was arrested three years ago. Although Saudi Arabia has killed or
injured several thousand women in neighboring Yemen, beheading a
female is completely unprecedented inside the Kingdom thus far.

All
of the activists reportedly took part in protests in Saudi Arabia’s
town of Qatif — a heavily Shia Muslim region frequently under siege
from Wahhabi Saudi forces.

Saudi
rulers consider all citizens who do not adhere to their distorted and
intolerant version of Islam, Wahhabism, as polytheists and
non-believers. Saudi textbooks in schools contain content with the
intention of inflaming hatred for Shia Muslims. This hatred overflows
into their foreign policy and military strategies as well.

Ghomgham
and the other four activists face charges such as chanting slogans,
attempting to inflame public opinion, and providing moral support to
protestors. Human
Rights Watch and
Amnesty International have reportedly both spoke out on Ghomgham’s
behalf. Canada’s Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland also
took the opportunity to strike
back at
the Kingdom’s recent arrests.

These
arrests are part of a broader trend under Mohammed bin Salman’s
rule to arrest all activists, clerics, intellectuals, and journalists
that speak out against the regime.

Although
all of the recent arrests were Shia Muslim, Riyadh also cracked down
on Sunni Muslim pro-democracy activists last month. In mid-July,
Saudi authorities raided the home of Sheikh Safar Al-Hawali: a
68-year-old scholar who had just published a book critical of the
Saudi regime’s policies. Hawali was arrested and his current
fate is unclear.

Facebook
has Riyadh’s Back in the Public Relations Department

Just
as news broke about five activists, Facebook initiated a crackdown on
anti-Saudi accounts — which also made headlines.

In
fact, it appears that the Saudi regime and their Western counterparts
in the United States have adopted the “Russian interference”
hysteria as a strategy in their soft war against Iran. Facebook
announced on Tuesday that it had removed 652 accounts which it
claimed were promoting anti-Saudi, anti-Israel, and
pro-Palestinian themes.

In
addition to Facebook’s sweep, Twitter deleted nearly 300 accounts
while Google and YouTube also deleted at least one. Facebook claims
these accounts originated inside Iran from Tehran’s government
itself — just like the hyper-inflated “Russian misinformation”
campaign.

A
private cybersecurity firm called FireEye tipped Facebook, Twitter,
and Google off to the alleged accounts. The CEO of FireEye, Kevin
Mandiant,
is a former US Air Force officer with an extensive background in
cyber espionage.

It’s
very convenient for Riyadh that FireEye informed the tech companies
about these alleged misinformation accounts on the very same day the
news broke about Saudi plans to behead five new activists — and
their first woman nonetheless.

And
with FireEye’s ties to the US military, this is not surprising at
all.

Saudi
Reforms: Trying Non-Violent Activists in a Secret Court

According
to Human Rights Watch, the activists will face trial in a secret
setting known as the Specialized Criminal Court (SCC): a tribunal
designed seemingly specifically for activists speaking out against
the regime. Of course, anyone who condemns the regime Riyadh
considers a terrorist — both at home and abroad.

Meanwhile,
Mohammed bin Salman is portrayed in the media as a poster child for
liberal reforms. Although the neoliberals seem more focused on the
privatization aspects and less on the oppressed populations in the
Kingdom at abroad.

The
continuation of arrests shows that Saudi Arabia will dole human
rights out as gifts (like women driving) from the regime — rights
will certainly not be earned through grassroots movements.

All
the while, private security firms will partner with Facebook and
other tech companies to crack down on these activists and others
online.

Nadat
schreeuwlelijk Alex Jones op ‘internetplatforms’ en zoekmachines, resp. Facebook, Spotify, Apple en Google werd geblokkeerd, overkwam (bijna) hetzelfde de directeur van het Ron
Paul Institute, Daniel McAdams, Scott Horton van de Scott Horton Show en Peter van Buren, klokkenluider en ex-werknemer bij het ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken, nu ‘directeur’ van ANTIWAR, echter zij werden op Twitter geblokkeerd……. Nu blijkt dat er een innige samenwerking is
tussen de hiervoor genoemde internetbedrijven als Facebook en Google met The Atlantic Council, een rechtse
oorlogshitsersclub….. The Atlantic Council adviseert Facebook
direct welke accounts te verwijderen vanwege buitenlandse
bemoeienis (hieronder een meer uitgebreide formulering)…..

Afgelopen
mei werd e.e.a al bekend gemaakt, intussen zijn er meer
bijzonderheden openbaar gemaakt over deze samenwerking en beste
bezoeker dat is niet mis….. Zo zou de samenwerking leiden tot meer
objectiviteit en neutralitijd wat betreft het opsporen en uitschaklen
van ‘fake accounts’, die het gevaar in zich herbergen dat ze door
buitenlandse mogendheden zouden kunnen worden gebruikt….
ha! ha! ha! ha! ha!

Ofwel
een uiterst rechtse denktank van oorlogshitsers en lobbyisten van het
militair-industrieel complex, beoordeelt ‘objectief en neutraal’ over
accounts en sites, die haar eigen agenda dwars zouden kunnen zitten……

Nu
blijkt bovendien dat Facebook van de zwaar over een hondendrol
getilde zakkenwasser Zuckerberg, één van de grootste donors is van
The Atlantic Council…….. Voorts wordt deze denktank gefinancierd
door de NAVO, het Pentagon (wat mij betreft is deze denktank zelfs een instrument van het Pentagon en daarmee van de NAVO), westerse regeringen (de EU in haar geheel >> NEXIT zo snel mogelijk!) en de dictatoriale
Golfstaten, dit nog naast bedrijven uit het militair-industrieel
complex, plus het fake news ‘journalisten’ clubje Bellingcat……..

is not at all comforting: during a week that witnessed Alex Jones’
social media accounts taken
down by Facebook,
Apple, Spotify and Google, and what appears to be a growing crackdown
against alternative media figures including several
prominent Libertarians,
notably the Ron Paul Institute director, and the Scott Horton
Show, who found their Twitter accounts suspended — we
learn that the
Atlantic Council is directly advising Facebook on identifying and
removing “foreign interference” on the popular platform. 

While
the initiative was initially revealed last May through an
official Facebook media release, more details of the controversial
think tank’s role have been revealed.

Supposedly
the whole partnership is aimed at bringing more objectivity and
neutrality to the process of rooting out fake accounts that pose the
threat of being operated by nefarious foreign states.

And
yet as a new Reuters report
confirms, Facebook
is now itself a top
donor to the Atlantic Council,
alongside Western governments, Gulf autocratic regimes, NATO, various
branches of the US military, and a number of major defense
contractors and corporations.

What’s
more is that the
team of four total
individuals running the Atlantic Council’s Digital Forensic
Research Lab (DFR Lab) is headed by a former National
Security Council advisor for the last four years of the Obama
administration, Graham Brookie,
who is also its founder.

Apparently
the group’s work has already been instrumental in Facebook taking
action against over two dozen “suspicious pages” flagged
potential foreign actors such as Russia. According to Reuters:

Facebook
is using the group to enhance its investigations of foreign
interference. Last week, the company said it took down 32 suspicious
pages and accounts that purported to be run by leftists and minority
activists. While
some U.S. officials said they were likely the work of Russian agents,
Facebook said it did not know for sure.

This
is indeed the shocking key phrase included in the report:“Facebook
said it did not know for sure.” And
yet the accounts were removed anyway.

The
Facebook-Atlantic Council alliance reportedly springs from the social
media giant’s finding itself desperate for outside “neutral”
help after a swell of public criticism, mostly issuing from
congressional leaders and prominent media pundits, for
supposedly allowing Russian propaganda accounts to operate ahead of
the 2016 elections.

in perhaps the most chilling line of the entire
report, Reuters says, “But
the lab and Atlantic Council bring
geopolitical expertise and
allow Facebook to distance itself from sensitive
pronouncements.” This
is ostensibly to defuse any potential conflict of interest arising as
Facebook seems a bigger presence in emerging foreign markets.

Facebook’s
chief security officer Alex Stamos recently told
reporters,
“Companies like ours don’t have the necessary information to
evaluate the relationship between political motivations that we infer
about an adversary and the political goals of a nation-state.” He
explained further that Facebook would collect
suspicious digital evidence and submit it to “researchers and
authorities”.

Since
at least May when the relationship was first
announced,
the DFR Lab has been key to this process of verifying what
constitutes foreign interference or nefarious state propaganda.

But
here’s the kicker. Reuters writes
of the DFR
Lab’s funding in the following:

Facebook
donated an undisclosed amount to the lab in May that was enough, said
Graham Brookie, who runs the lab, to vault the company to the top of
the Atlantic Council’s donor list, alongside the British
government.

Facebook
employees said privately over the past several months that Chief
Executive Mark Zuckerberg wants to outsource many of the most
sensitive political decisions, leaving fact-checking to media groups
and geopolitics
to think tanks.

Facebook
has defended the process as part of ensuring that it remains
politically neutral, yet clearly the Atlantic Council itself is
hardly neutral, as a quick perusal of its
top donors indicates.

Among
the DFR Labs partners include UK-based Bellingcat, which has in the
past claimed “proof” that Assad gassed civilians based on
analyzing YouTube videos and Google Earth. And top donors include
various branches of the US military, Gulf states like the UAE, and
notably, NATO.


The
Atlantic Council has frequently called for things like increased
military engagement in
Syria, militarily confronting
the “Russian threat” in Eastern Europe,
and now is advocating
for Ukraine and Georgia to be allowed entry into NATO while
calling for general territorial expansion of the Western military
alliance.

Further it
has advocated on
behalf of
one of its previous funders, Turkish dictator Recep Tayyip
Erdoğan and
gave a “Distinguished International Leadership” award to
George W. Bush, to name but a few actions of the think tank that has
been given authorization to flag citizens’ Facebook pages for
possible foreign influence and propaganda.

Quite
disturbingly, this
is the outside “geopolitical expertise” that
Mark Zuckerberg’s been seeking.

‘In
de strijd tegen ‘fake news’ (of: nepnieuws) verlaat Facebook haar ‘trending news’ berichten, berichten die veel worden gedeeld op Facebook voor ‘breaking news’, nieuws gebracht door 80 reguliere mediaorganen. Ofwel Facebook gaat haar
gebruikers hersenspoelen met berichten van de reguliere media, die
maar al te vaak fake blijken te zijn……

Wat
politici en de reguliere media hebben aangemerkt als ‘fake news’, is
voor het overgrote deel nieuws dat de huidige status quo bedreigt of
zelfs ronduit aantoont dat nieuws uit de reguliere media gebaseerd is op leugens en aannames. 

Om duidelijk te maken wat men onder fake news verstaat, verwees men in de westerse reguliere media en politiek naar overduidelijk gefabriceerde onzin (die de meeste lezers als zodanig herkennen), terwijl wat deze media en politici veelal als ‘fake news’ aanmerken, veelal juist het echte nieuws
is……

Kortom
Facebook gaat meedoen aan het grote hersenspoelen van de
wereldbevolking (althans in de landen waar Facebook is toegestaan)……

Facebook
is replacing its user-generated “trending news” feature
with a “breaking news” section – comprised of 80
publications which they will feed to users. 

In
other words, Facebook will have complete control over narratives and
topics which go against their internal corporate
culture. 

Facebook’s
Trending News section has been the subject of intense scrutiny
since the 2016 election after
it was revealed that the editors in charge of the feature were
repeatedly discriminating
against conservative
articles, while promoting progressive content. Their
clear bias resulted in the threat of an investigation from
the Senate commerce committee. 

The
new changes were explained in a Friday announcement: 

  • Breaking
    News Label: A test we’re running with 80 publishers across North
    America, South America, Europe, India and Australia lets publishers
    put a     “breaking
    news”     indicator
    on their posts in News Feed. We’re also testing breaking news
    notifications.

  • Today
    In: We’re testing a dedicated section on Facebook called Today In
    that connects people to the latest breaking and important news from
    local publishers in their city, as well as updates from local
    officials and organizations.

  • News
    Video in Watch: We will soon have a dedicated section on Facebook
    Watch in the US where people can view live coverage, daily news
    briefings and weekly deep dives that are exclusive to Watch.

The obvious takeaway here is that Facebook wants to control the conversation. Who believes that the news orgs they choose will be fair and balanced? No one. Instead of seeing what is naturally igniting dialogue around issues you’re going to get Facebook approved propaganda.

De algemene verordening persoonsgegevens ofwel AVG (of GDPR >> General Data Protection Regulation) trad afgelopen 25 mei in werking en gaat over de nieuwe regels ter bescherming van persoonsgegevens van klanten die zijn aangesloten bij bedrijven als Facebook en Google. Echter van enige restrictie in het vragen van privacygevoelige informatie is niets te merken, sterker nog: als je niet tekent voor het misbruik van jouw gegevens, wordt je account zelfs geblokkeerd, zoals een aantal Facebook gebruikers is overkomen……..

Zelf heb je waarschijnlijk ook al gemerkt dat je akkoord moet gaan met de voorwaarden van bedrijven, daar je anders niet verder komt, ofwel je wordt als klant gechanteerd! Lees je die voorwaarden dan zie je dat je nog steeds moet tekenen voor het gebruik van jouw gegevens voor de marketing doeleinden, ook door andere bedrijven……..

Volgens de nieuwe regels moet je een vrije keus hebben en moet je kunnen kiezen voor het niet doorgeven van jouw gegevens aan derden, echter daar is in de praktijk geen sprake van….. Zelf heb ik zegge en schrijve één site gezien waar je dergelijke zaken kan aanvinken en toch gebruik kan blijven maken van de dienst, deze dienstverlener is Twitter……

(CD) — Accusing
Facebook, Google, WhatsApp, and Instagram of “intentionally”
violating Europe’s strict new privacy rules that officially went
into effect on Friday, Austrian lawyer and privacy activist Max
Schrems filed
four lawsuits against
the tech companies arguing they are still “coercing
users into sharing personal data”
despite rolling out new policies ostensibly aimed at complying with
the new regulations.

Titled
the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the new rules require
companies to explicitly and clearly request consent from users before
mining their data, and Schrems argues in his complaints—which
seek fines
totaling $8.8 billion—that
Google, Facebook, and the Facebook-owned Instagram and WhatsApp are
still utilizing “forced consent” strategies to extract users’
data when “the law requires that users be given a free choice
unless a consent is strictly necessary for provision of the
service,” TechCrunch explains.

“It’s
simple: Anything strictly necessary for a service does not need
consent boxes anymore. For everything else users must have a real
choice to say ‘yes’ or ‘no,’” Schrems wrote in a statement.

“Facebook
has even blocked accounts of users who have not given consent. In the
end users only had the choice to delete the account or hit the
‘agree’-button—that’s not a free choice.”

While
Facebook—which is currently embroiled in international controversy
following the Cambridge
Analytica scandal—insists
that its new policies are in compliance with Europe’s new
regulatory framework, Schrems argues that Facebook and Google aren’t
even attempting to follow the new law.

“They
totally know that it’s going to be a violation, they don’t even
try to hide it,” Schrems told the Financial
Times.

Om ten overvloede nog eens te laten
zien hoe belachelijk de VS functioneert op een groot aantal punten,
maakte The Verge bekend hoeveel Facebook doneerde aan de politici die plork Zuckerberg hebben ondervraagd over het verkopen door Facebook van privacygevoelige informatie, die klanten aan hun Facebookpagina toevertrouwden.

Voorgaande is van een concept dat al een aantal weken op de stapel lag. Na het optreden van Zuckerberg in het EU parlement, waar hij zich moest verantwoorden voor de enorme schendingen van de privacy gevoelige informatie door Facebook, is het de hoogste tijd dit bericht toe te voegen.

Maar eerst naar het optreden van de over een keeshondendrol getilde hufter Zuckerberg in het EU parlement n.a.v. het machtsmisbruik dat Facebook heeft gemaakt ten koste van de mensen die Facebook gebruiken en zonder na te denken hun hele hebben en houden op dit medium dumpten.

De grofgraaiers in het EU parlement die vragen mochten stellen aan Zuckerberg hadden van te voren een heel verhaal ingestudeerd om de EU burgers te laten zien hoe knap en kundig ze ‘wel niet’ zijn…… Het was ronduit een belachelijke vertoning waar Zuckerberg dankbaar gebruik van maakte…..

De EU parlementariërs waren zo lang aan het woord, dat Zuckerberg nog maar een paar minuten had om te antwoorden op de gestelde vragen, waarbij hij de belangrijkste vragen op een hoop gooide en er met niets zeggende antwoorden vanaf kwam…….. Om te laten zien ‘dat het hem ernst was’, kakelde Mark ‘sorry’ Zuckerberg nog 15 minuten langer door, alsnog totaal onvoldoende om te kunnen antwoorden op de vragen die hem werden gesteld……

Hoe is het mogelijk dat een groot parlement niet kan zorgen dat Zuckerberg meer dan voldoende tijd had om serieus antwoord te geven…??? ‘Je zou bijna denken’ dat dit doorgestoken kaart was, zeker daar je ook nog eens zou verwachten dat de parlementariërs na de antwoorden van Zuckerberg, de kans zouden hebben te reageren en door te vragen op die antwoorden…….

Nu dan het verhaal dat op 11 april werd gepubliceerd op The Verge, waarin te lezen is dat veel van de politici in de onderzoekscommissie van de senaat zich hebben laten betalen door Facebook…… ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! En dan was men wereldwijd nog verontwaardigd dat Zuckerberg er zo makkelijk vanaf kwam……

Overigens worden ook andere tech firma’s (zoals Amazon) genoemd die geld aan VS politici betalen voor lobbywerk…… (hetzelfde gebeurt trouwens ook in Brussel/Straatsburg* en op het Binnenhof…..)

Facebook
founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg is testifying before the House
Committee on Energy and Commerce today, fresh off the heels of a
grueling five-hour joint session before the Senate Judiciary and
Commerce committees yesterday. In total, Zuckerberg will face
questions from nearly 100 legislators, and many of those legislators
have received thousands of dollars from the company Zuckerberg runs.

Over
the last 12 years, Facebook has spent $7 million in campaign
contributions. Historically, Facebook has donated slightly more to
Democrats than Republicans, but overall, the platform’s political
footprint is small in Washington, DC relative to its market cap,
which is currently calculated at about $400 billion. That’s not
unusual for technology companies: Amazon spent
$4 million in campaign contributions over 20 years, and it has a
market cap of nearly $700 billion. (Note, however, that Alphabet,
Inc., with a market cap just over Amazon’s, appears to
be outspending
Facebook in DC by an order of magnitude.)

According to
data from the Center for Responsive Politics,
since 2014, Facebook has contributed a total of $641,685 to the
members of Congress that Zuckerberg is facing this week. The top
recipients of that money include Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ), Sen. Kamala
Harris (D-CA), and Rep. Anna Eshoo (D-CA).

The
amount of money received didn’t necessarily correlate to the
hostility of questions asked by the legislators in Zuckerberg’s
first hearing. That said, Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT) did make a somewhat
bizarre pro-Facebook comment, saying, “Some have professed
themselves shocked, shocked that
companies like Google and Facebook share user data with advertisers.
Did any of these individuals stop to ask themselves why Google and
Facebook don’t charge for access? Nothing in life is free.” Hatch
has taken $15,200 from Facebook since 2014 — the sixth largest
amount on the combined committees.

But
other senators who have received even larger campaign contributions
from Facebook didn’t hold back. Cory Booker, who has received
$44,025 from Facebook since 2014 (the largest amount), questioned
Zuckerberg on the 2016
ProPublica investigation that
showed Facebook allowed advertisers to target by race. Kamala Harris,
who took the second largest amount ($30,990) grilled

the
CEO on why Facebook did not notify users in 2015 that Cambridge
Analytica had misused their data, causing Zuckerberg to squirm
uncomfortably.

If
any senators pulled their punches, it was along party lines, when
small-government Republicans like Sen. Roger Wicker (R-MS) or Sen.
Dan Sullivan (R-AK) questioned the necessity of additional
regulation. At one point Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) held up a tablet and
pointed at the Facebook “privacy” tab, blaming individuals for
not properly reviewing their own settings. Wicker has received
$10,000 from Facebook since 2014, Tillis has received $7,500, and
Sullivan has received a whopping $2,500.

The
campaign contributions from Facebook to all the legislators who posed
Mark Zuckerberg questions this week are listed below. The list
includes the members of the Senate Judiciary and Commerce committees
and House Committee on Energy and Commerce are listed in full below,
and dates back to 2014.

Na
alle ophef over het in feite illegaal verzamelen van persoonsgegevens
via Facebook en de belachelijke stelling dat Facebook de Russen heeft geholpen Trump de winst te bezorgen, die hem in het Witte Huis bracht, is het de
hoogste tijd aandacht te besteden aan een vorm van omkoping door Facebook.

Naar
bekend werd gemaakt, heeft Facebook Obama gratis dataservice verleend aan het campagneteam van Obama en het gaat niet om een misselijke bedrag, zoals de fooien van Rusland die Trump zijn plek in het Witte Huis zou hebben bezorgd, nee het gaat hier om vele miljoenen dollars die niet als gift werden gemeld, wat het meteen tot een misdaad bestempelt…….

Obama’s team heeft e.e.a. niet gemeld en daarmee werd de wet
overtreden en begaf men zich op het misdadig pad (al moet je minstens
een halve crimineel zijn, als je in het landelijk bestuur van de VS wilt
werken, waarna deze figuren razendsnel tot een volledige misdadiger uitgroeien……) Uiteraard heeft Facebook wel het e.e.a. terug willen zien van haar investering, je kan dan ook rustig van omkoping spreken (al helpt dit opperschoft Zuckerberg nu geen zier… Hoewel?)

Straffen zullen niet volgen, daar deze voor de VS wet al zijn verjaard (…. ha! ha! ha!), zie: Statute of Limitations.

Voorts verdient Facebook jaarlijks $ 100 per VS gebruiker per jaar, waarbij het profiel van deze mensen wordt gebruikt om hen te manipuleren (voor diverse doeleinden). Tel dit op bij het doel de gebruikers min of meer verslaafd te maken aan Facebook, (door dopamine productie die optreedt bij gebruik van Facebook) en je zal begrijpen dat velen volledig in het Facebook-pak zijn genaaid…..

Sociale media als Facebook schenden uw gezondheid op meerdere manieren

Sociale
media als Facebook schenden niet alleen je privacy, maar ook je
geestelijke en lichamelijke gezondheid…….

Zo
leiden sociale media als Facebook tot het afbreken van het
concentratievermogen en vergroot daarmee bijvoorbeeld het gevaar dat
je in het verkeer loopt. Ook wordt daardoor het gevoel van isolatie
(en daarmee van eenzaamheid) en depressiviteit vergroot, gemoedstoestanden waarmee ook de lichamelijke gezondheid ‘niet echt’ gediend is….. 

In
feite kan je gerust stellen dat je door deze ‘sociale fora’ wordt
geprogrammeerd …….

Het
ergst van al is wel dat de makers van die sociale media forums, zoals die van Facebook, van
meet af aan de opzet hadden mensen ‘verslaafd’ te maken aan hun
forum…… ‘Vreemder nog’ de makers verbieden hun eigen kinderen zich bijvoorbeeld op Facebook te begeven………..
