Red de orang-oetan van de ondergang, stop de palmolie vernietiging van het oerwoud!

Grote
bedrijven als Unilever hebben het gore lef de klant voor te houden
dat zij alleen duurzame palmolie gebruiken in hun producten…… Niet
alleen een leugen van formaat, daar ze werken met plantagehouders die
schijt hebben aan een duurzame wereld en het oerwoud net zo hard naar
god helpen als ieder ander, maar ook door het simpele feit dat er maar één manier is om deze zaak werkelijk duurzaam te maken, een totaal verbod op het gebruik van palmolie!!

Tot
de grootste slachtoffers van de palmolieterreur in Indonesië behoren de 3 soorten orang-oetans, waarvan één soort pas onlangs werd ontdekt, de
Tapanuli, deze werd onmiddellijk op de lijst van bedreigde diersoorten
gezet, waar de 2 andere soorten, de Sumatra en de Borneo orang-oetan, zich al lange tijd op bevinden. Alleen de laatste 16
jaar zijn er al meer dan 100.000 Borneo orang-oetans ‘verdwenen’
(voor het overgrote deel vermoord door de mens, die NB dicht verwant is aan de orang-oetan…..)……

De
grote boosdoener is palmolie, waar eerder hout het bestaan van
oerwoud en daarmee de bewoners bedreigde, is het nu de enorme vraag naar
‘goedkope’* palmolie……. Niet alleen wordt palmolie
verwerkt in veel levensmiddelen, maar zit het ook in producten als
shampoo en wordt het godbetert toegevoegd aan
dieselbrandstof……… (dat laatste noemt men dan ‘duurzame
diesel….’ ha! ha! ha! ha! ha!)

Palmolie kan niet duurzaam zijn, zeker als je het enorme gebruik ziet van deze olie, die verkregen wordt door: -mensen van hun grond te verjagen, -dieren te vermoorden, ofwel direct middels geweervuur, dan wel door bosbrand, of door -het gebruik van kinderarbeid………

Er is maar één manier om van de voornoemde zaken af te komen: het gebruik van palmolie totaal verbieden!! (en zo snel mogelijk!) Zolang de vraag naar palmolie bestaat zal men regels met voeten treden en voornoemde zaken in praktijk blijven brengen……

documentaire van meer dan 50 minuten: ‘Red Ape, Saving the Orangutan’ maar deze mag belachelijk
genoeg niet worden gezien buiten GB en in GB zelf voor een beperkte
periode……. Hieronder zie je een korte (gruwelijke) samenvatting
van die documentaire. Dit onderwerp is te belangrijk om achter een
‘betaalmuur’ te verdwijnen…..

Few
who watch the documentary Red
Ape: Saving the Orangutan
tonight on BBC2 could fail to feel some sense of responsibility for
the desperate situation faced by Indonesia’s orangutans. These
extraordinary creatures are our closest relatives, sharing 97% of our
DNA. Their similarity to us is astonishing. They are intelligent,
inquisitive, smile and show empathy. They even laugh when tickled,
like us, when most other animals have evolved to be ticklish only in
an itchy, irritating sort of way as a protective reflex. Encountering
orangutans in the wild is like nothing else I’ve experienced.

They
once thrived in Indonesia’s lush, green rainforests but over the
last 50 years they have been forced from their home and killed. In
the last 16
years alone, 100,000 Bornean orangutans have
been lost. All three species – Bornean, Sumatran and the
Tapanuli, a
species discovered only last year –
are now on the critically endangered list. The reason? It started in
the 1960s as forests were logged for timber, but now it’s palm oil.

Global
demand for palm oil has increased six-fold since 1990. It’s in half
of all packaged products on supermarket shelves and to avoid it
completely would be incredibly tricky. Although palm oil in food can
no longer be described simply as vegetable oil and must be clearly
labelled (thanks
to an EU directive in 2014),
there is no such law for products such as soap, shampoo and other
cosmetics. The supermarket Iceland’s decision to ditch
palm oil from
all of its own-brand products was, it says, a response to the palm
oil industry’s catastrophic failure to halt deforestation and deal
with the problem.

Even
the Roundtable
on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO)
– the industry body charged with ensuring registered companies
trade only in oil that has not come from deforestation – is failing
spectacularly. Just over a week ago, Greenpeace exposed massive
rainforest destruction in Papua allegedly caused by palm oil
companies that
are subsidiaries of a current RSPO member. Buying from them were big
multinationals including Unilever, Nestlé, Pepsico and Mars. The
companies concerned have responded by saying they are taking
Greenpeace’s claims seriously and taking appropriate action. But if
Greenpeace’s assertions are correct, no company can claim the palm
oil it uses is 100% “sustainable”.

Red
Ape reveals the truly remarkable work that International
Animal Rescue workers
are doing on the ground to save these animals. At this crucial stage
in their existence, every life saved is vital to their survival. But
if we want to save orangutans in the long term, as John Sauven,
Greenpeace UK’s executive director, says in the programme, we must
save their home – the rainforest. You can sign Greenpeace

Orangutans
spend 95% of their lives in the trees, but right now, Indonesia’s
forests are disappearing at the rate of one football pitch every 25
seconds.
In the absence of industry reform, multinationals such as those
mentioned above must take responsibility. In fact, back in 2010 they
actually promised to take responsibility. Then, members of
the Consumer
Goods Forum pledged that
by 2020 they would no longer buy palm oil from any company that
decreased the net amount of rainforest. But have they done anything
about it? Not much, it seems. In fact, in January this year, when
Greenpeace asked 16 companies to publish which palm oil traders they
were buying from, many refused – although not those listed above.

With
rainforest clearance continuing and the Indonesian government
boasting a projected increase in palm oil production from 36.5m
tonnes in 2017 to over 42m tonnes by 2020, the situation really is
dire. And it’s not just orangutans that are threatened. More than
69% of Sumatran elephant habitat has been destroyed within one
generation, and there are fewer
than 100 Sumatran rhinos left
in the wild. People are part of this conflict too. Land grabbing and
exploitation of workers, including the use of child labour, is
endemic. And decades of deforestation for palm oil have created
conditions ideal for furious forest and peatland fires. These
fires,
often deliberately started by companies clearing the land, threaten
the health of people across southeast Asia and drive climate change.

Indeed,
if nothing is done, eventually we will all pay the price, since
land-use change, mainly from tropical deforestation, accounts for 12%
of global carbon emissions.
Keeping these forests intact really is vital for all life on Earth.
There can be no more delaying until the next decade. 2020 is less
than two years away and the burden of responsibility lies firmly with
the multinationals. Palm oil can be produced without destroying
rainforests but only if big companies support it. I won’t let them
forget their zero-deforestation promise. Will you?

Save
the Orangutan

They

The
two species of orangutan, Bornean and Sumatran, differ a little in
appearance and behavior. While both have shaggy reddish fur, Sumatran
orangutans have longer facial hair. Sumatran orangutans are reported
to have closer social bonds than their Bornean cousins. Bornean
orangutans are more likely to descend from the trees to move around
on the ground.

Both
species have experienced sharp population declines. A century ago
there were probably more than 230,000 orangutans in total, but the
Bornean orangutan is now estimated at about 104,700 based on updated
geographic range (Endangered) and the Sumatran about 7,500
(Critically Endangered). 

The
name orangutan means “man of the forest” in the Malay
language. In the lowland forests in which they reside, orangutans
live solitary existences. They feast on wild fruits like lychees,
mangosteens, and figs, and slurp water from holes in trees. They make
nests in trees of vegetation to sleep at night and rest during the
day.

Adult
male orangutans can weigh up to 200 pounds. Flanged males have
prominent cheek pads called flanges and a throat sac used to make
loud verbalizations called long calls. An unflanged male looks like
an adult female. In a biological phenomenon unique among primates, an
unflanged male can change to a flanged male for reasons that are not
yet fully understood.

LSD niet alleen als therapiemiddel maar ook om tot een betere wereld te komen

Het
gebruik van middelen als paddo’s, MDMA (ook wel ecstacy of XTC
genaamd), LSD en cannabis geniet al jaren veel belangstelling van wetenschappers, psychiaters, artsen en psychologen, bij psychiatrie
en de wetenschap is dat zelfs al vele decennia.

Steeds
meer aandoeningen worden toegevoegd aan de lange lijst van aandoeningen (zowel geestelijk als fysiek) die met succes kunnen worden behandeld met één van de voornoemde
psychedelica.

Zo
kunnen posttraumatische stressstoornissen positief worden behandeld
met MDMA, zaken als depressies en concentratiekampsyndroom (of
KZ-syndroom) kunnen succesvol met LSD worden behandeld en dat
cannabis o.a. kan worden gebruikt als pijnstiller is intussen redelijk algemeen bekend, echter cannabis kan ook helpen als middel bij
staar, een middel om ADHD’ers beter te laten functioneren en voor het
opwekken van eetlust bij kankerpatiënten.

Hieronder opgenomen een artikel over LSD van Vikram Zutshi, waarin hij o.a. schrijft over
het gebruik van LSD als middel om tot een betere wereld te komen, een
wereld waar de hersenspoeling door onderwijs, media en religie teniet
kan worden gedaan door nieuwe netwerken in de hersenen te ontwikkelen (middels het gebruik van LSD). Daarmee zal de mens i.p.v. tegen elkaar op te staan, eerder elkaar de hand reiken om samen te zorgen dat de wereld niet ten onder
gaat aan haat, afgunst, onverantwoord gebruik van grondstoffen en ga
nog maar even door.

Niet
voor niets ook dat vele overheden zich zo afzetten tegen het gebruik
van drugs als cannabis, paddo’s, LSD en XTC. Terwijl men alcohol
gewoon blijft accepteren en zelfs pissig wordt als je deze drug een
harddrug noemt, wat het wel degelijk is……… Veronderstel dat er dagelijks 12
mensen zouden overlijden aan het gebruik van XTC, het hek zou van de
dam zijn, terwijl dit bij alcohol de dagelijkse praktijk is….. (en
daar mag gewoon reclame voor worden gemaakt; vergeet voorts niet dat
alcohol fiks kankerverwekkend is!)

Lees
het volgend artikel en geeft het door, het is de hoogste tijd dat
het verzet tegen de genoemde drugs algemeen als contraproductief wordt gezien en erkend…… Dit verzet kost ons bovendien een enorm bedrag aan
politie-inzet en het voeren van rechtszaken…… Al is de
georganiseerde misdaad uiteraard wel blij met een repressief drugsbeleid, je kan verzet
tegen deze drugs dan ook rustig aanmerken als lobby voor de drugsmaffia! Zo kan men de prijzen verhogen door te wijzen op dat repressieve beleid, bovendien: pubers vinden alles wat verboden is op dat gebied uiterst interessant en zullen proberen als met alcohol deze drugs te verkrijgen…. (zoals je weet: waar een wil is is een weg….) 

In de tijd dat Nederland als enige een gedoogbeleid voerde, op in ieder geval softdrugs, waren de problemen met andere drugs verwaarloosbaar vergeleken met de ellende waar omliggende landen mee te maken hadden……

The
Political Significance of LSD: What You’re Not Being Told

(OD Op-ed) — “Microdosing”
on psychedelic substances like LSD—ingesting
just enough to heighten cognitive faculties, enhance creativity,
improve concentration and alleviate depression—is currently back in
vogue among people not normally associated with anything remotely
‘countercultural’ in the USA.

The
term psychedelic was
coined in 1958 by British psychiatrist Humphrey
Osmond and
is derived from the Greek words psyche (“soul,
mind”) and delein(“to
manifest”), hence “soul-manifesting,” the implication being
that psychedelics can access the soul and develop unused potentials
in the human mind. It’s a contention that’s gaining increased
acceptance in mainstream universities.

New
York University,
for example, is hosting clinical trials using psilocybin to
treat alcohol addiction. The Multidisciplinary
Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS)
has been at the forefront of research in treating patients suffering
from chronic treatment-resistant PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress
Disorder) with MDMA,
commonly known as ‘Ecstasy’. The Food and Drug Administration
(FDA) recently
designated its
MDMA-assisted psychotherapy project as a ‘breakthrough therapy.’
Apart from MDMA, MAPS also advocates the use
of Ayahuasca, Ibogaine and medical
marijuana for a
variety of conditions ranging
from bipolar syndrome and drug addiction to autism-related disorders,
ADHD and clinical depression.

The
therapeutic use of psychedelics isn’t new. Between 1953 and 1973,
the US
federal government funded over a hundred studies on
LSD with more than 1,700 subjects participating.

Psychedelics
were tested on convicts, substance abusers, people suffering from
chronic depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder, schizophrenics
and terminal cancer patients. LSD was also tested on artists and
scientists to explore its effects on creativity, and on divinity
students to examine spirituality from a neuroscientific perspective.
The empirical data gathered from these tests was
largely positive.

LSD
“truly was an acid, dissolving almost everything with which it came
into contact, beginning with the hierarchies of the mind… and going
on from there to society’s various structures of authority” says
author Michael
Pollan in
his book How
To Change Your Mind: The New Science of Psychedelics. And
that’s what makes this subject socially
and politically interesting.

“It
is curious to me that what I see as the two greatest
threats—environmental crisis and [political] tribalism—these
drugs directly address both those mindsets” Pollan
told the Guardian in
a recent interview. “They undermine our tendency to objectify
nature, to think of ourselves as separate from it. They undermine
tribalism in that people tend to emerge from these experiences
thinking that we are all more alike, all more connected.”

If
this is true, then those of us committed to social transformation
must start to take the use of psychedelics much more seriously. But
what’s the actual or potential connection between LSD and politics?

It
was a Swiss chemist called Albert
Hoffman who
discovered the drug by accident in 1938. While conducting research on
another pharmaceutical compound he absorbed the drug through his skin
and staggered home to lie down on his sofa, where, “in a dreamlike
state, with eyes closed”, he wrote later, “I perceived an
uninterrupted stream of fantastic pictures, extraordinary shapes with
intense, kaleidoscopic play of colours.” Hoffman felt he had been
given the keys to unlocking the mysteries of the universe, “the
mystical experience of a deeper, comprehensive reality.”

A
few decades later in August 1960, Timothy
Leary,
a clinical psychologist from Harvard University, traveled to
Cuernavaca in Mexico and ingested psilocybin
(‘magic’) mushrooms for
the first time, an experience that radically altered the course of
his life. In 1965, Leary
commented  that
he had “learned more about … (his) brain and its
possibilities…[and] more about psychology in the five hours after
taking these mushrooms than…in the preceding 15 years of studying
and doing research in psychology.” Leary became a lifelong
evangelist for the therapeutic benefits of psychedelics.

Theoretical
physicist Carlos
Rovelli,
author of The
Order of Time, says
his romance with quantum theory and the mysteries of the space-time
continuum were sparked by his LSD trips as a student radical at the
University of Bologna. “It was an extraordinarily strong experience
that touched me also intellectually,” he
told the Guardian.
“Among the strange phenomena was the sense of time stopping. Things
were happening in my mind but the clock was not going ahead; the flow
of time was not passing any more. It was a total subversion of the
structure of reality. How do I know that the usual perception is
right, and this is wrong?”

Rovelli
has spent the better part of his life grappling with the relationship
between space, time and consciousness, fundamental concepts that
underlie existence and how we simultaneously perceive the world and
shape it. “If I observe the microscopic state of things,” he
writes,
“then the difference between past and future vanishes … in the
elementary grammar of things, there is no distinction between ‘cause’
and ‘effect.’” The concept of time, he says, “has lost layers
one after another, piece by piece.” We are left with “an empty
windswept landscape almost devoid of all trace of temporality…a
world stripped to its essence, glittering with an arid and troubling
beauty.”

Large
parts of the world are being polarized at a rate rarely seen before,
helped in no small measure by social media ‘filter bubbles’ and
algorithms that divide people sharply along the lines of nationality
or ideology, their underlying human connections rendered increasingly
irrelevant.

Perhaps
such deep hatred and suspicion of the other was always there, but now
it has taken center stage and is being used as a potent election
strategy by populist and hyper-nationalist leaders the world over.
Like herds of cattle, large numbers of people are being programmed
and deployed as pawns for a larger agenda.

Therefore,
perhaps real change begins with rewiring our perceptual framework.
Psychedelic substances have been ingested sacramentally by indigenous
cultures to achieve this goal since the dawn of time, and now they’re
being validated by the scientific and medical communities.

The
shifts in consciousness that can be brought about by psychedelics can
help in dissolving the man-made boundaries or fear of the other that
are implanted in our collective psyche.

While
Silicon Valley bio-hackers microdosing on LSD to enhance their
workplace performance may not be looking to bring about tectonic
shifts in collective consciousness, there’s no reason to restrict
the use of psychedelics to these groups and purposes. They could also
work as a potent catalyst to awaken humankind to the dangers of toxic
nationalism and rabid nativism that threaten to engulf us.

Argentijnse regering naait het volk in IMF pak

Het
IMF leent de totaal onverantwoordelijke regering van Argentinië het
voor dit land fenomenaal grote bedrag van 50 miljard dollar.

Alsof
het geld gratis is zo laat de Argentijnse regering weten blij te zijn
met deze meer dan waanzinnige deal…….

Eerder
gaf de Argentijnse regering een obligatielening uit waar deze voor
100 jaar een vaste winst garandeert………

De
grote
onderlaag zal weer keihard worden gepakt met deze lening, zoals dit
eerder deze eeuw (zie het tweede hieronder opgenomen artikel uit 2004
met de titel ‘IMF
admits mistakes in Argentina crisis‘)
en
in de 90 er jaren al eens het geval was. Argentinië zal zich met deze
deal moeten onderwerpen aan het IMF en haar keiharde neoliberale eisen tot hervormingen…….

Begin
deze eeuw versterkte een grote lening van het IMF de crisis in Argentinië en ook nu is de verwachting dat dit zal gebeuren…….

Argentinië verwordt met deze IMF lening tot het Zuid-Amerikaanse Griekenland,
waar de welgestelden, zoals die in Griekenland al lang hun kapitaal
hebben veiliggesteld in het buitenland (2 vliegen in 1 klap >> ten eerste het geld is veilig voor eventuele faillissementen van banken (of grote belastingverhogingen op vermogen), ten tweede: de ontduiking van belastingen op enorme schaal…… (waar familie Zorreguieta, je weet wel de familie van pampakoningin Maxima, ook
tot de welgestelden behoort……)

De
arme bevolking van Griekenland, intussen het grootste deel van de
bevolking weet wat dit betekent, zoals de ouderen die daar praktisch
geen pensioen meer ontvangen (waar ze zelf voor spaarden), of wat dacht je van kankerpatiënten die de benodigde medicamenten zoals pijnstillers niet meer kunnen
betalen……..

De
Griekse schuld is zo hoog dat de (lage) rentebetalingen al niet zijn te voldoen, laat staan dat het land tot aflossen van de enorme schuld zal komen, hetzelfde lot wacht Argentinië…….

Lees
nogmaals hoe ijskoud, inhumaan neoliberaal beleid tot grote ellende
zal leiden onder de grote maatschappelijke onderlaag van Argentinië en de crisis daar alleen zal verdiepen…… Bovendien regeert president en regeringsleider Mauricio Macri van de Propuesta Republicana, kortweg PRO, over zijn eigen graf en dat van nakomende regeringen, immers Argentinië heeft met deze lening een groot deel van de zeggenschap in eigen land vrijwillig overgedragen aan het IMF…….. 

Daarmee is het zeker dat Argentinië zich met hart en ziel heeft verbonden aan het ijskoude, inhumane neoliberalisme, waar zelfs een socialistische regering niets tegen kan ondernemen…… Zie de Griekse situatie waar Tsipras een zogenaamde socialist zijn land uit handen heeft gegeven aan de Europese Commissie, het IMF en de ECB, de Europese Centrale Bank……. Staatseigendommen zijn voor 99 jaar uit handen gegeven aan een EU orgaan, het Europees Stabiliteitsmechanisme (ESM) dat naar goeddunken staatseigendommen kan verkopen voor een appel en een ei…….

Just Made IMF History With Biggest Bailout Loan Ever

(ZHE) — Just
a few weeks after Argentina became ground zero for the coming
Emerging Market crisis, when its currency suddenly collapsed at the
end of April amid soaring inflation, exploding capital outflows and a
central bank that was far behind the curve (as in “13% of rate
hikes in a week” behind)…

…
the
IMF has officially bailed
out the country –
again – this time with a $50 billion, 36-month stand-by loan, and
coming in about
$10 billion more than
rumored earlier in the week, it was the largest ever bailout loan in
IMF history,
meant to help restore investor confidence in a nation that, between
its soaring external debt and current account deficit, prompted
JPMorgan to suggest that
along with Turkey, Argentina is in effect, doomed.

As
the JPM chart below shows, the country’s total budget deficit,
which includes interest payments on debt, was 6.5% of GDP last year,
much of reflecting a debt binge of about $100 billion over the last
two and a half years. The primary fiscal deficit in 2017 was 3.9%.

The
loan will have a minimum interest rate of 1.96% rising as high as
4.96%.

“We
are convinced that we’re on the right path, that we’ve avoided a
crisis,” Finance Minister Nicolás Dujovne said at a press
conference in Buenos Aires. “This is aimed at building a normal
economy.”

Dujovne
said that about $15 billion from the credit line would be immediately
available to Argentina after the package is approved by the IMF’s
board, which is expected on June 20. The rest would be dispersed as
needed as Argentina meets its targets.

Shortly
after the news the loan was finalized, Dujovne made some additional,
more bizarre comments, saying that “the amount we received is 11
times Argentina’s quota, which reflects the international
community´s support of Argentina,” almost as if he was proud at
just how insolvent his country “suddenly” become. He was
certainly delighted that, in his view, Argentina is now “too big to
fail”, and received not only this loan as a result…

“It’s
very good news that the integration with the world allows us to
receive this support.”

… but
also hinted that the international community would also foot the bill
for all other upcoming Argentinian bailouts. And if the country’s
history is any indication, there will be plenty more, as well as the
occasional military coup for good measure.

According
to Bloomberg, Argentina will see 30% of the funds a day or two after
the Fund’s June 20 board meeting, and in typical IMF-bailout
fashion, a form of austerity will be imposed on what was once Latin
America’s richest nation: as part of the agreement, the country
will now target a fiscal deficit of 1.3% of GDP in 2019 and 2.7% this
year, with a fiscal balance targeted for 2020 (good luck). And since
the previous targets of 2.2% and 3.2%, were almost as laughable, this
latest IMFian austerity package not only has zero chance of ever
being achieved, but if Greece is any indication, it will make the
Argentina crisis far worse. The government has also set a new
inflation target of 17% in 2019 – It’s considered low –
declining to 13% in 2020 and 9% in 2021.

And
the biggest joke, as part of the program, Argentina will agree to
accelerate the pace at which it reduces the government deficit. The
nation spends more than it collects in revenue and imports more than
it exports, creating fiscal and current-account shortfalls that leave
Argentina vulnerable to fluctuations in its currency. But, thanks to
the even more idiotic policies of central banks, Argentina managed to
sell a 100 year bond last year, demonstrating just how stupid some
managers of “other people’s money” really are.

“This
is a plan owned and designed by the Argentine government, one aimed
at strengthening the economy for the benefit of all Argentines,”
IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde says in the statement which
can be found
on the IMF’s website.

To
take effect, the deal reached between the IMF’s staff and Argentine
authorities still requires the approval of the IMF’s executive
board.

Oh,
and thank you American taxpayers: the IMF’s largest shareholder,
the U.S., said in a statement Thursday from Treasury Secretary Steven
Mnuchin that it supported the program, according
to the WSJ.

“The
size of the package should provide relief, but implementing the
program entails significant challenges and will require skillful
political leadership,” said Martin Castellano, the head of Latin
America research at the Institute of International Finance (IFF).

Argentina
was bailed out by the IMF for the second time in 2 decades after
three rate hikes pushed borrowing costs above 40% but failed to halt
a plunge in the currency. The peso fell 25% against the dollar this
year to trade at 24.9850 on Thursday, while capital outflows soared.

Central
Bank President, Federico Sturzenegger, said the bank will continue to
intervene in currency markets in times of “disruptive movement”
although the central bank will not target inflation this year, he
said. Meanwhile, the government has agreed to send a bill that gives
the central bank more autonomy, and as a result it wil no longer
transfer funds to the Treasury.

“We’re
convinced that we’re on the right track, that we managed to avoid a
crisis, gather support for the program we already had and that has
been in place since Dec. 2015, which looks to build a normal economy,
reduce poverty and protect the vulnerable,” Dujovne said, echoing
what Greece said after its first bailout 8 years… and its second…
and its third.

Gerry
Rice, an IMF spokesman, speaking Thursday before the details of the
bailout were announced, told reporters that the IMF is “not seeing
negative spillovers to other countries at this point.”

Well,
he may want to take a look at Brazil.

IMF
admits mistakes in Argentina crisis

The
International Monetary Fund yesterday admitted that its mistakes
helped plunge Argentina deeper into the red during the currency
crisis that crippled the country’s economy three years ago.

In
a report published yesterday by its independent evaluation office,
the IMF
said it ought to have prevented the Argentine government from
following poor economic policies.

“IMF
surveillance failed to highlight the growing vulnerabilities in the
authorities’ choice of policies and the IMF erred by supporting
inadequate policies too long,” it said.

The
financial meltdown that reached a climax in 2001, causing the country
to default on $132 billion of foreign debt, was worsened by the
government’s vain attempts to maintain the Argentine peso’s peg
against the dollar. The
IMF ploughed money into the country to help it sustain the peg,
pledging an extra $22 billion as late as the end of 2000.

“In
retrospect, the resources used in an attempt to preserve the peg
could have been better used to mitigate some of the inevitable costs
of exit,” the report said.

Although
it became clear to some IMF staff that the country’s currency plan
was flawed in the 1990s, they did not report their doubts to their
board for fear of triggering a speculative attack on the peso. The
executive board, for its part, ignored staff complaints that
Argentina was not reforming its economy satisfactorily.

Both
the IMF and the US touted the country as Latin America’s economic
success story but the fund maintained its support despite the fact
that Argentina missed its fiscal targets every year since 1994.
Analysts have also claimed that the IMF’s demands that Argentina
raise taxes in 2002 worsened the crisis. The conclusions will come as
a blow to the institution, whose role has come under increased
scrutiny in recent years.

Yesterday
the Argentine finance minister, Roberto Lavagna, argued that the
country should not be pressed too hard for repayments of its current
three-year $13 billion loan. He said the IMF was now insisting it
reformed its economy “in a way absent throughout the 90s” and
“under a schedule that is oblivious to the political realities of
the country”.

Op WDR 5 berichtte men rond 13.40 u. vanmiddag over de zaak Skripal, de ex-spion die samen met zijn dochter vergiftigd zou zijn met novitsjok.

De Duitse regering Merkel schaarde zich achter de Britten, ging mee in de beschuldiging aan het adres van Rusland en zette daarop ook daadwerkelijk Russische diplomaten het land uit….. Echter diezelfde Duitse regering heeft tot op de dag van vandaag geen enkel bewijs van de Britten gekregen voor die beschuldigingen aan het adres van Rusland……..

Geen bewijs voor de beschuldigingen dat de gebruikte novitsjok werd gefabriceerd in Rusland, noch voor de beschuldiging dat Rusland verantwoordelijk is voor ‘de aanslag’ op Skripal………

Oh wonder: ook vader Skripal heeft het ziekenhuis verlaten en is zo gezond als een vis…… Terwijl deskundigen na bekend worden van de ‘aanslag’ bij hoog en laag beweerden dat novitsjok dodelijk is en de Skripals de aanslag hooguit als plant zouden kunnen overleven, dus voorgoed in coma……

Kortom de false flag operatie tegen Rusland is mislukt, hoewel ook de reguliere media en opiniemakers in hun doorlopende anti-Russische propaganda rustig volhouden dat Rusland schuldig is aan deze ‘aanslag….’ Als er inderdaad een aanslag is gepleegd op de Skripals middels novitsjok, zullen de daders ofwel gezocht moeten worden in Groot-Brittannië, de VS of in voormalige Sovjetstaten, zoals Polen of Oekraïne, die destijds novitsjok zouden hebben gehad, of deze kankerzooi alsnog hebben gefabriceerd (dat zou niet zo ingewikkeld zijn)…….

Al de bovengenoemde landen hebben er baat bij als Rusland wordt gedemoniseerd, terwijl Rusland daar op geen manier van kan profiteren, zeker niet aan de vooravond van het WK voetbal en op een moment dat het westen zo ongeveer alles wat misgaat in de schoenen van de Russen probeert te schuiven…..

Nadat
Facebook aankondigde haar ‘trending nieuws’ onderdeel te laten vallen, vanwege
het ‘hoge gehalte aan fake news’ (nepnieuws) en deze te vervangen voor een
‘breaking news’ programmering*, heeft dit frauderende mediaorgaan
besloten nieuws shows te gaan brengen. 

Ter verduidelijking van het ‘breaking news’ platform: dit ‘breaking news’ onderdeel wordt samengesteld door 80 regulaire mediaorganen, je weet wel media die zich keer op keer juist schuldig maken aan het brengen van fake news……. (neem de berichtgeving voorafgaand, tijdens en zelfs na de illegale oorlogen die de VS is begonnen in bijvoorbeeld Afghanistan, Irak, Libië en Syrië……)

Om het voorgaande nog verder uit te rollen, komen er dus nieuws shows, die worden uitbesteed aan ‘uiterst betrouwbare nieuwsorganen’ als CNN en Fox News….. ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha!

In
an effort to improve its credibility, Facebook is launching original
news shows with mainstream networks like ABC, Fox
News,
and CNN.
Amid ongoing controversies and
widespread public distrust of the platform — as well as widespread
public apprehension toward the political, media, and corporate
establishment at large — it is unclear how Facebook intends to
leverage these outlets to build trust.

Variety,
an entertainment industry outlet, reported Wednesday
that the new effort “is
partly aimed at driving up viewing on its Facebook
Watchplatform
— but it also is supposed to demonstrate the social-media giant’s
commitment to funding trustworthy journalism.”

The
initiative, to be introduced this summer, is led by a mainstream
reporter-turned-Facebook employee. Campbell Brown, Facebook’s head
of global news partnerships, was previously a host for CNN and
worked as a reporter for NBC
News.

“Given
this is our first step into this, we wanted to have a diverse slate
of shows that could deliver different things,” she
said of the new program. Other participants include Univision, Mic,
and ATTN.

According
to a blog post by
Brown:

“Earlier
this year we made a commitment to
show news that is trustworthy, informative, and local on Facebook. As
a part of that commitment, we are creating a dedicated section within
Watch for news shows produced exclusively for Facebook by news
publishers. With this effort, we are testing a destination for high
quality and timely news content on the platform.”

The
move comes as Facebook moves to discontinue its “trending news”
service, which has been accused of spreading fake information (the
platform will instead implement a “breaking news” feature,
working with 80 different outlets around the world in a project
separate from it’s mainstream Watch programming).

To
be sure, Facebook has served as a breeding ground for wildly
inaccurate “news” stories from highly questionable outlets.

However,
despite Facebook’s stated intention to combat this type of fake
news, it is no secret that outlets like CNN and Fox
News have disingenuously helped
perpetuate society-wide submission to corrupt, exploitative agendas
by baiting the public with divide and conquer tactics
and distractions.

CNN,
which dubs itself “the
most trusted name in news,” spends
much of its airtime obsessing over Russia, the Mueller investigation,
Stormy Daniels, and other topics that are comparatively superficial
in light of bipartisan policies that destroy the world and infringe
upon people’s basic rights. They have been caught on multiple
instances pushing incorrect
information and
selectively reporting stories. For example, one “exclusive report”
on Libya’s burgeoning human slave trade failed to acknowledge that
a major catalyzing force for the trade’s growth was the Obama
administration’s toppling of former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi.

Fox
News,
too, is an egregious perpetuator of manipulative narratives, and the
outlet’s hosts spend much of their time covering petty issues. In
one instance, earlier this year, Fox
and Friends pundits
had a meltdown over
the NFL’s decision to broadcast potential national anthem protests
at the Super Bowl (they did not actually occur). Fox was
also a major contributor to
the push for the 2003 invasion of Iraq.

Both outlets,
along with MSNBC, ABC, NBC,
and CBS have
been found to
spread falsehoods on a regular basis as pundits prattle on, peddling
establishment viewpoints.

These
mainstream outlets also push emotionally charged, vitriolic opinions,
and to a large extent, these divides are evident in the comment
sections of political Facebook posts.

Despite
Facebook’s cozying up to mainstream outlets, Variety reports
that both Fox
News and CNN previously complained about
Facebook’s approach to news. “It
was important to us that there was a fair value exchange, which there
hasn’t always been,” said
Andrew Morse, CNN’s
EVP and GM of CNN Digital
Worldwide, while speaking about the new programming deal. Anderson
Cooper will host CNN’s
Facebook show while Shep Smith will helm Fox’s.

The
move follows not only claims of Facebook spreading dis- and
mis-information but also suppressing reach
for many large pages not deemed “trustworthy.” Independent news
organizations, in particular, have complained that their followers
now rarely see their posts.

Regardless
of this new program, public trust in mainstream news sources at large
continues to drop.
While this seems promising, unfortunately, much of this distrust is
also associated with part of the population’s unquestioning trust
in President Donald Trump as many of his supporters tend to reject
news that discredits or criticizes him.

As
Facebook continues to serve as a mouthpiece for the establishment —
and as it continues to work with
the government to police the internet — the need for decentralized
alternatives like Steemit, Minds, and othersthat
do not censor their users or promote propaganda is increasingly
apparent.

Iran
wordt door de VS, Israël, Saoedi-Arabië en veel andere islamitische
landen beschuldigd van het agressief bezig zijn tegen andere landen,
echter in de praktijk is daar geen bewijs voor, behalve dan het
hebben van banden met landen waar een sjiitische minder- of meerderheid
bestaat, iets wat bepaald niet als agressief gedrag kan worden gezien…..

Voorts levert Iran humanitaire goederen aan Jemen, een land waar Saoedi-Arabië met de hulp van o.a. de VS en Groot-Brittannië een genocide uitvoert op de sjiitische bevolking in dat land……. Volgens de VS en S-A levert Iran wapens en raketten aan de Houthi’s in Jemen (Houthi’s: de sjiitische verzetsbeweging in dat land), echter daar is tot op heden geen millimeter bewijs voor geleverd……

Met een blokkade van o.a. de havens die door de Houthi’s worden beheerd, neemt de ellende in Jemen van dag tot dag toe en komen ook humanitaire goederen maar met mondjesmaat het land binnen, blokkades die zijn opgeworpen door Saoedi-Arabië en de VS……

In tegenstelling
tot de VS, Israël en Saoedi-Arabië, heeft Iran de laatste 200 jaar
geen ander land aangevallen, terwijl de voornoemde landen Iran als
destabiliserend afschilderen….. ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Volkomen
ongeloofwaardig zoals je begrijpt, sterker nog de VS, Saoedi-Arabië en Israël zijn met hun ongebreidelde agressie de grote destabiliserende factor in het Midden-Oosten, bewijzen te over, zoals de hiervoor genoemde genocide!

Amnesty International: bombardementen op Raqqa van VS coalitie hebben honderden burgers gedood…….

Amnesty
kwam gisteren met de
uitkomsten van een onderzoek in de Syrische stad Raqqa naar het
aantal (massa-) moorden die de VS coalitie daar met bombardementen heeft
begaan…..

Je
weet waarschijnlijk nog wel dat o.a. De VN, een paar ngo’s en een
paar westerse landen de VS opriepen te stoppen met de bombardementen op
de stad. Helaas aan dovemansoren, net als in het Iraakse West-Mosul
ging m.n. de VS gewoon door met bombarderen……….*  

Amnesty
spreekt over honderden doden, echter als ik me niet vergis werden er
na de inname van de stad duizenden mensen vermist……. Het is als
in het Iraakse West-Mosul, hoewel men daar na ‘de bevrijding’ hele
huizenblokken heeft gebulldozerd , zonder eerst
de lijken onder het puin vandaan te halen……. Ook daar gaf men toe een honderden burgerslachtoffers te hebben gemaakt, hoewel deskundigen zeggen dat het er
minstens 30.000 moeten zijn……

90%
van de bombardementen op Raqqa (en eerder in het Iraakse West-Mosul) werden door de VS uitgevoerd. Groot-Brittannië
voerde 215 bombardementen uit op Raqqa en als bij eerdere bombardementen van
GB (ook in Irak) stelt de legerleiding dat het geen
burgerslachtoffers heeft gemaakt……. Het is dat ‘t allemaal zo
triest en smerig is, anders zou je je daadwerkelijk doodlachen,
jezus!!

Het aantal doden is moeilijk na te trekken, ten eerste daar men de overledenen binnen 24 uur moet begraven volgens islam voorschriften. Daarnaast waren journalisten niet welkom in Mosul en Raqqa (en andere gebombardeerde steden, bombardementen die volgens het Verdrag van Genève als oorlogsmisdaden moeten worden aangemerkt……)

Weet niet hoe het momenteel met Nederland zit, voeren wij nog
bombardementen uit in Irak en verkenningsvluchten boven Syrië? Zo ja,
dan wordt er in feite in de landen gemoord middels ons belastinggeld
(en met F16 straaljagers, die volgens een aantal ministers uit de
kabinetten Balkenende en Rutte 1 en 2, van ellende uit de lucht zouden vallen…..)…. Vandaar dat we nu de meer dan waardeloze JSF (F35) van
Lockheed Martin gaan kopen, tegen een godsvermogen aan
belastinggeld……..

UK needs to come clean over its role in this carnage’ – Kate Allen

US-led
Coalition forces killed hundreds of civilians – and injured thousands
– in the Syrian city of Raqqa in the process of “liberating” them
from the Islamic State armed group, Amnesty International said in a
new report today, ahead of tomorrow’s one-year anniversary of the
Raqqa offensive.

Amnesty
researchers visited 42 Coalition airstrike sites across the ruined
city and interviewed 112 civilian residents who survived the carnage
while losing loved ones in the attacks.

The
victims highlighted in Amnesty’s report cut across the city’s
socio-economic spectrum and range in age from a one-year-old baby
girl to a man in his 80s. 

Their
harrowing stories and immense losses stand in stark contrast to the
Coalition’s repeated claims that they took great pains to minimise
civilian casualties. In September, at the height of the conflict,
Coalition commander US Lt Gen Stephen Townsend wrote that “there
has never been a more precise air campaign in the history of armed
conflict”. Raqqa residents, such as airstrike survivor Munira
Hashish, tell a different story: 

“Those
who stayed died and those who tried to run away died. We couldn’t
afford to pay the smugglers; we were trapped.” 

She
and her children eventually managed to escape through a minefield “by
walking over the blood of those who were blown up as they tried to
flee ahead of us.”

Raqqa’s
residents were trapped as fighting raged between ISIS militants and
Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) fighters, supported by the
Coalition’s air and artillery strikes. Meanwhile, ISIS mined escape
routes and shot at civilians trying to flee. Hundreds of civilians
were killed: some in their homes, some in the very places where
they’d sought refuge, and others as they tried to escape. 

Amnesty’s
research and Raqqa residents’ accounts – detailed in the 70-page
report, ‘War
of annihilation’: Devastating Toll on Civilians, Raqqa –
throw into serious question the Coalition’s insistence that their
forces did enough to minimise civilian harm. The report details four
emblematic cases (see below) of civilian families brutally impacted
by the aerial bombardment. 


Between them, they lost 90 relatives and
neighbours – 39 from a single family – almost all killed by Coalition
airstrikes. Amnesty believes the cases are part of a wider pattern
and provide a strong prima facie case that many lethal Coalition air
and artillery strikes were disproportionate or indiscriminate attacks
carried out in violation of international humanitarian law and are
potential war crimes.

Shortly
before the military campaign, US Defence Secretary James Mattis spoke
of a “war of annihilation” against ISIS in Raqqa, and from 6 June
to 12 October 2017 the US-led Coalition operation – involving US,
British and French forces – carried out tens of thousands of
airstrikes. The US military said it fired 30,000 artillery rounds
during the offensive, while its forces are known to have been
responsible for more than 90% of the airstrikes. Much of the city was
destroyed, with countless homes, private and public buildings and
infrastructure reduced to rubble or damaged beyond repair.  

Amnesty
has written to defence officials in the USA, UK and France seeking
additional information about the report’s cases and other attacks,
with Amnesty asking about Coalition tactics, specific means and
methods of attack, choice of targets, and precautions taken in the
planning and execution of attacks, and about any investigations
carried out to date. 

Donatella
Rovera, a Senior Crisis Response Adviser at Amnesty International,
said:

“The
Coalition’s claims that its precision air campaign allowed it to
bomb ISIS out of Raqqa while causing very few civilian casualties do
not stand up to scrutiny. 

“On
the ground in Raqqa we witnessed a level of destruction comparable to
anything we’ve seen in decades of covering the impact of wars. 

“A
senior US military official said that more artillery shells were
launched into Raqqa than anywhere since the Vietnam war. Given that
artillery shells have margin of error of over 100 metres, it is no
surprise that the result was mass civilian casualties.

“When
so many civilians are killed in attack after attack, something is
clearly wrong, and to make this tragedy worse, so many months later
the incidents have not been investigated. The victims deserve
justice.”

Four
Raqqa family case studies

The
case of the Badran family illustrates how dire the situation became
for civilians trapped in Raqqa. Over the course of several weeks, 39
family members were killed in four separate Coalition air strikes as
they moved from place to place inside the city, desperately trying to
avoid rapidly shifting frontlines.

“We
thought the forces who came to evict Daesh [ISIS]
would know their business and would target Daesh and
leave the civilians alone. We were naïve. By the time we had
realised how dangerous it had become everywhere, it was too late; we
were trapped,” Rasha Badran told Amnesty. After several attempts to
flee, she and her husband finally managed to escape, having lost
their entire family, including their only child, a one-year-old girl
named Tulip, whose tiny body they buried near a tree.

The
Aswads were a family of hard-working traders in Raqqa. Some of them
stayed behind to protect their belongings from looting, seeking
shelter in their basement. But, on 28 June a Coalition air strike
destroyed the building, killing eight civilians, mostly children.
Another family member lost his life when he stepped on an ISIS mine
when he returned to the city to try to recover the bodies days
later. 

Despite
repeated attempts to flee, the Hashish family lost 17 members, mostly
women and children, over a two-week period in August. A Coalition air
strike killed nine, seven died as they tried to flee via a road which
had been mined by ISIS, and two others were killed by a mortar
launched by SDF.

The
fate of the Fayad family illustrates how a Coalition blitz during the
final hours of the battle wiped out entire families in the Harat
al-Badu area of central Raqqa, where ISIS fighters were known to be
using civilians as human shields. The deaths of Mohammed “Abu Saif”
Fayad and 15 family members and neighbours in Coalition airstrikes
early on 12 October seem all the more senseless because, just hours
later, the SDF and the Coalition agreed a deal with ISIS, granting
remaining ISIS fighters safe passage out of Raqqa.

Benjamin
Walsby, an Amnesty International Middle East Researcher, said:

“If
the coalition and their SDF allies were ultimately going to grant
ISIS fighters safe passage and impunity, what possible military
advantage was there in destroying practically an entire city and
killing so many civilians? Raqqa’s civilians are returning home to
ruins, pulling loved ones out of rubble, and facing death or injury
from mines, IEDs and unexploded ordnance. The Coalition’s refusal
to acknowledge its role in creating this catastrophic situation adds
insult to injury.”

UK
forces carried out 215 airstrikes in Raqqa

According
to the Ministry
of Defence,
UK forces carried out 215 airstrikes in Raqqa. Up until last month,
UK ministers had repeatedly claimed that UK forces in Syria and Iraq
had killed no civilians. On 2 May, the Defence Secretary Gavin
Williamson said that
a UK drone missile killed a civilian on a motorcycle in eastern Syria
in March. Amnesty has written to the Ministry of Defence seeking
detailed information over the UK’s airstrikes in Raqqa.

Kate
Allen, Amnesty International UK’s Director, said:

“Civilians
in Raqqa have suffered grievously at the hands of Islamic State, but
they’ve also been imperilled by the Coalition’s disproportionate
aerial attacks. 

“The
Coalition’s operations in Raqqa have killed hundreds and injured
thousands of civilians and the UK needs to come clean over its role
in this carnage.

“Having conducted more than 200
airstrikes in Raqqa, the UK needs to be able to show that its
targeting was proportionate and that it took proper measures to avoid
unnecessary civilian casualties in its joint operations with the US
and others. Instead of repeating a mantra about there being ‘no
evidence’ of civilian casualties from UK airstrikes, the MoD should
publish proper data about its Raqqa attacks – dates, times,
locations, weapons used and intended targets. 

“Crucially,
ministers should explain how the UK has investigated the impact of
its attacks in both Raqqa and Mosul. For example, has the UK carried
out on-the-ground investigations at the sites it bombed and
interviewed survivors and witnesses?

“With
a Defence Committee set to examine Operation Shader, now is the time
for the UK to demonstrate to the British public that the UK’s
military role in Syria and Iraq has been responsible and lawful. The
Government should establish a thorough, impartial investigation into
all allegations of unlawful attacks and civilian casualties from UK
operations in Raqqa and Mosul.”

Operation
Shader is the operational code for the UK’s contribution to the
multinational military operation against the Islamic State armed
group in the Middle East.

Zo af en toe denk je gek te zijn geworden als je een bericht leest, zoals de volgende: topmanagers van ABN AMRO hebben al in januari aan de noodrem getrokken vanwege een enorme vertrouwenscrisis bij de top van die bank…….

Je zou toch na de bankencrisis verwachten dat de toezichthouder en het ministerie de vinger aan de pols houden bij die bank, maar nee hoor……

De bewuste managers schreven een brief aan de toezichthouder op de banken, De Nederlandse Bank (DNB) en het ministerie van Financiën. Tot op heden hebben de managers niets gehoord, niet van DNB noch van het ministerie…….

DNB heeft al eens enorme steken laten vallen in aanloop van de bankencrisis in 2008, CDA kakzever Wellink was destijds de directeur die ‘zo goed oplette’ dat hij de crisis niet voorzag >> let wel: ondanks dat er meerdere deskundigen waren die hiervoor waarschuwden, maar daarom werden uitgelachen………

Hetzelfde geldt overigens voor het ministerie van Financiën destijds onder de volkomen ten onrechte geprezen topgraaier Bos van de PvdA, ook hij zag de crisis niet aankomen, hoewel hij meermaals werd gewaarschuwd…….. Als dank mochten wij de belastingbetalers, opdraaien voor de enorme verliezen, waar Bos zelfs de verzekerde bedragen per spaarrekening voor spaarders opschroefde naar een ton, iets waar vooral de welgestelden (met meerdere bankrekeningen) van hebben geprofiteerd……..

Zoals je net kon lezen: alweer zitten DNB en het ministerie te slapen, dit keer met grofgraaier Knot bij DNB aan de top, waar op het ministerie CDA lichtgewicht Wopke Hoekstra zit te pitten. Als het straks weer goed misgaat mogen wij opdraaien voor de ellende en zijn de verantwoordelijke figuren die werkelijk aan de touwen trekken bij ABN AMRO al volkomen binnengelopen met hun enorme salaris en overgestapt naar een ander bedrijf of een andere bank dan wel financiële instelling…….. Zoals de over een keeshondendrol getilde hufter Kees van Dijkhuizen, de topgraaier van ABN AMRO, al moet die nog opstappen, echter gezien de ellende zal dit niet lang op zich laten wachten……

Ben
het niet geheel eens met de kop van dit bericht, echter het hieronder opgenomen Engelse
artikel met de kop die zo ongeveer dezelfde strekking heeft, is een
uitstekend artikel waarin de macht van de media aan de kaak wordt
gesteld.

Het
artikel van Caitlin Johnstone begint met de rel die in de VS ontstond
rond de presentator van MSNBC Joy (-Ann) Reid. Deze presentator
fantaseert er af en toe graag op los en heeft in het verleden al heel
wat zeer foute uitspraken gedaan. Johnstone is daar verder niet zo in
geïnteresseerd, maar wel in het feit dat de top van MSNBC deze presentator keer op keer de handen boven het hoofd houdt…………

Het
is niet moeilijk teksten op te lezen voor tv, wel is het moeilijk om
dag in dag de boel te belazeren en te manipuleren ten gunste van een
kleine groep geprivilegieerden, aldus verwoordt Johnstone ‘het werk’ van Reid……. (al moet ik zeggen dat het niet zo moeilijk is om te liegen en bedriegen, zeker als je ziet hoeveel reguliere mediaorganen zich hier schuldig aan maken…) Dezelfde Reid maakt iedereen af
in de media die ter linkerzijde van Hillary Clinton staat en noemt
zichzelf desondanks ‘links…’ ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! (Reid zou zo bij de PvdA aan kunnen sluiten!)

Voorts
stelt Reid dat niemand heeft geprofiteerd van Wikileaks, behalve
Rusland dan….. ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Ja ik lach wel, maar dergelijke onzinverhalen vindt je overal in de reguliere westerse (massa-) media, ook in ons
land. De grootste kul wordt met een serieus gezicht keer op keer
opgelepeld en lullig genoeg heeft dit een grote invloed op de
westerse bevolkingen dat hoor je pas goed als je de reacties onder
krantenberichten leest of inbellers op een actualiteitenprogramma
hoort praten. Negen van de tien redeneren vanuit de valse
informatie die hen dag in dag uit wordt voorgeschoteld (op een manier die vergeleken kan worden met hersenspoelen)…….

Bovendien is het wel erg wrang om te stellen dat Rusland baat heeft bij Wikileaks, als je ziet hoe Rusland wordt gedemoniseerd vanwege vermeende manipulaties van o.a. de presidentsverkiezingen in de VS, waar Rusland zelfs werd beschuldigd van het lekken van VS overheidsdocumenten naar Wikileaks……. Wat een idioot moet je zijn om te denken dat Rusland profiteert van de hysterische anti-Russische propaganda in het westen, neem alleen al de sancties die op valse gronden zijn genomen tegen dit land……

In feite zou een groot deel van de wereld moeten profiteren van Wikileaks, immers in de documenten van Wikileaks valt te lezen hoe smerig de spelletjes van de VS op het wereldtoneel zijn. Jammer genoeg doet bijna niemand iets met deze documenten en blijft men de meer dan valse, fascistische en uiterst gewelddadige VS buitenlandpolitiek door dik en dun steunen……

Terug naar de claim dat wie het nieuws controleert, de wereld controleert: echter voor het controleren van de wereld is ‘iets’ meer nodig dan de reguliere (massa-) media, zoals het militair-industrieel complex, de geheime diensten (aan wie de hiervoor aangehaalde media lippendiensten bewijzen) en de financiële wereld (beter gezegd: financiële maffia), ofwel deep state…..

En
dan durft men in die reguliere media, bijna zonder uitzondering in
handen van miljonairs/multimiljonairs en investeringsgroepen, te
spreken over fake news (nepnieuws) en manipulatie door sociale media……. 


Dezelfde media die een enorm aantal fake news berichten de wereld in hebben gestuurd en sturen, neem alleen al de berichtgeving van die media in aanloop van en tijdens de illegale oorlogen die de VS deze eeuw is begonnen……..

host Joy Reid still has a job. Despite blatantly lying
about time-traveling hackers bearing
responsibility for bigoted posts a decade ago in her
then-barely-known blog, despite her reportedly sparking
an FBI investigation on
false pretenses, despite her colleagues at MSNBC being completely
fed up with
how the network is handling the controversy surrounding her, her
career just keeps trundling forward like a bullet-riddled zombie.

To
be clear, I do not particularly care that Joy Reid has done any of
these things. I write about war, nuclear escalations and the
sociopathy of US government agencies which kill millions of people; I
don’t care that Joy Reid is or was a homophobe, and I don’t care
that she lied to cover it up. The war agendas that MSNBC
itself promotes
on a daily basis are
infinitely worse than either of these things, and if that isn’t
obvious to you it’s because military propaganda has caused you
to compartmentalize yourself
out of an intellectually honest understanding of what war is.

What
is interesting to me, however, is the fact that Reid’s bosses
are protecting
her career so
adamantly. Both by refusing to fire her, and by steering
the conversation into
being about her controversial blog posts rather than the fact that
she told a spectacular lie in an attempt to cover them up, Reid is
being propped up despite this story constantly re-emerging and making
new headlines with new embarrassing details, and despite her lack of
any discernible talent or redeeming personal characteristics. This
tells us something important about what is going on in the world.

It
is not difficult to find someone to read from a teleprompter for
large amounts of money.

What
absolutely is difficult
is finding someone who is willing to deceive and manipulate to
advance the agendas of the privileged few day after day. Who else
would be willing to spend all day on Twitter smearing everyone to the
left of Hillary Clinton while still claiming to stand on the
political left? Who else would advance the point-blank
lie about
“17 intelligence agencies” having declared Russia guilty in US
election meddling months after that claim had been famously and
virally debunked?
Who else would
publicly claim that
Edward Snowden’s NSA leaks did not benefit anyone besides Russia?
Who else could oligarchs
like Comcast CEO Brian L Roberts,
whose company controls
MSNBC,
count on to consistently advance his agendas?


While
it’s easy to find someone you can count on to advance one
particular lie at one particular time, it is difficult to find
someone you can be absolutely certain will lie for you day after day,
year after year, through election cycles and administration changes
and new war agendas and changing political climates. A lot of the
people who used to advance perspectives which ran against the grain
of the political orthodoxy at MSNBC like Phil
Donahue, Ed
Schultz and Dylan
Ratigan have
vanished from the airwaves never to return, while reporters who
consistently keep their heads down and toe the line for the
Democratic establishment like Chris Hayes, Rachel Maddow and Joy Reid
are richly rewarded and encouraged to remain.


The
disempowered want change; those in power want predictability and
consistency. The more you can guarantee predictability and
consistency to those in power, the more those in power will reward
you.


Those
who report the news and shape public narratives are of particular
interest to US oligarchs, who bought up the old media long ago and
are doing everything in their power to secure influence over the new
media as well. Pundits like Joy Reid are some of their most valuable
assets, and they protect those assets accordingly. Because whoever
controls the narrative controls the world.

The Council on Foreign Relations is a massively influential think tank with members in the leadership of pretty much every significant media outlet in America. In late April it held a conference titled Political Disruptions: Combating Disinformation and Fake News in which a man named Richard Stengel told the audience that it is necessary for the US government to propagandize its citizens. Stengel is the former managing editor of Time Magazine, a position he vacated to go and work for the US State Department. Yes, really.


“Basically,
every country creates their own narrative story and, you know, my old
job at the State Department was what people used to joke as the
‘chief propagandist’ job,” Stengel told
the CFR audience.
“We haven’t talked about propaganda… I’m not against
propaganda. Every country does it, and they have to do it to their
own population, and I don’t necessarily think it’s that awful.”  


You
can cringe all you like, but he’s right. Not about propaganda being
a legitimate weapon for an ostensibly free democracy to inflict upon
its citizens of course; manipulating the way your citizenry thinks is
manipulating the way they vote and organize and what they consent to,
and is plainly sociopathic. But he is right that all the shrieking
the US does about Russian propaganda applies fully to its own
behavior.


As
we’ve discussed
previously,
the only real power in this world is the power to control the public
narrative about what is going on. The only reason governments operate
the way they operate, the only reason money works the way it works,
the only reason power exists where it exists, is that we’ve all
agreed to play along with some made-up mental stories about those
things and pretend that they are true and real. The only thing
stopping the populace from collectively deciding to change the way
money works, from deciding that the assholes on Capitol Hill aren’t
in charge anymore, or from deciding that every billionaire in America
should be butchered like a hog and turned into Slim Jims is the fact
that those ideas have not become the dominant narrative. If you can
control the stories that the masses tell themselves about what is in
their best interests, you control everything.

This
is why the alliance between Silicon Valley and US intelligence
agencies is becoming more and more brazen. This is why Facebook and
the NATO propaganda firm Atlantic Council announced
that they’ve formed a partnership weeks
after the Atlantic Council published
an article explaining
why westerners need to be propagandized for their own good. This is
why social media corporations are being
instructed on the Senate floor that
they need to take action to silence sources of rebellion. This is why
Julian Assange is being
aggressively silenced by
the western empire. And it is why Joy Reid still has a job.


The
good news about all this is that we know exactly where our shackles
are. Our shackles are made of narrative, and the oligarchs’ ability
to control it. A populist movement to disrupt establishment
narratives and wake people up to what’s going on is all it will
take to break our rulers’ ability to control the way the citizens
of the world think and vote. From there we can make our own
narratives and create a world which benefits us all and not just a
few ruling elites. Right now there is a mad rush by those same elites
to scale back our ability to network and share information via new
media, so one of the most revolutionary things we can do at this time
is prevent them from doing so and outpace them in that race.



It
isn’t the west versus Russia. It isn’t left versus right. At this
time the real conflict in our society is a few ruling elites and
their cronies versus humanity’s natural impulse to act in a way
that is beneficial to humanity. All we need to do is help that
impulse flourish, get out of our oligarchy-imposed brain boxes, and
build a new world.

Stop de barbaarse Japanse slachting van walvissen >> boycot Japan!

Gisteren ontving ik een petitie van Alex B., lid van het Care2 Petiton Team, een petitie tegen de komende slachting die Japan wil uitvoeren op walvissen, e.e.a. ook naar aanleiding van World Oceans Week (WOW), die dit jaar van 4 tot 12 juni duurt.

Japan voert deze jaarlijkse slachting uit onder het mom van wetenschappelijk onderzoek, terwijl dit wetenschappelijk bewezen kul is, voor wetenschappelijk onderzoek op walvissen hoef je deze mooie en intelligente dieren niet te vermoorden……

Vorig jaar vermoordde Japan maar liefst 120 zwangere Antarctische dwergvinvissen, van de in totaal 333 vermoordde dwergvinvissen…….. Van de honderden walvissen die Japan vorig jaar vermoordde, waren er meer dan 180 van het vrouwelijk geslacht en 70% van hen was zwanger….. (het is maar zeer de vraag of deze cijfers kloppen, immers ze worden aangevoerd door Japan…)

Sea Shepherd, de organisatie die zich jarenlang actief verzette tegen de Japanse slachtingen, heeft vorig jaar de handdoek in de ring gegooid, daar de Japanse walvisvloot met militaire zaken de boel zo had versterkt en beveiligd dat Sea Shepherd niets meer kan uitrichten.

Die aanpassingen zijn door de Japanse overheid gesubsidieerd, zoals ook de hele walvisjacht wordt gesubsidieerd door de Japanse overheid. De consumptie van walvisvlees is sterk teruggelopen in Japan, waardoor de diepvriespakhuizen voor walvisvlees volkomen uit hun voegen barsten……..

De hoogste tijd dat de Japanse regering internationaal aan de paal wordt genageld voor de barbarij……

Boycot Japanse producten en onderneem geen vakanties naar dat land!

for World Oceans Week: Stop the Summer Whale Slaughter

Last
year, the government of Japan harpooned 333 Antarctic minke whales to
death. 120
of these whales were expecting mothers.


It
wasn’t the first time this slaughter has occurred, and if we don’t
act now, it certainly will not be the last.


The
Japanese government conducts this annual whale hunt every summer in
the name of scientific research. But non-lethal surveys have been
shown to be just as effective for “biological sampling.” In
reality, many of the whales are ending up at the dinner table.


This
week is World Ocean’s Week and the summer hunt is just around the
corner. There will be no better time to raise your voice for these
whales.


Japan
plans to slaughter at least 4,000 whales over the next decade. But
according to a 2014 ruling by the International Court of Justice,
Japan is breaking the law by continuing their Antarctic whaling
program. 


We
must continue to shine a light on Japan’s horrific, criminal hunt.

Imagine
this, you are out in the ocean, swimming along with your friends and
family. The sky is blue, the water is the perfect temperature. Life
couldn’t be better. Then
all of a sudden a grenade-tipped harpoon plows into your chest.. It
explodes. Your friends look on in horror as you are dragged to your
death by a whaling ship. 

This
is what happens hundreds of times a year all thanks to the horrific
Japanese whaling industry. The
country is one of only a handful of nations that continues to harvest
the cetaceans. Officials defend the practice in the name of science.
They say the whales are harvested in order to conduct “biological
sampling.” However, according to many experts, non-lethal
surveys have been shown to be just as fruitful. 

Science
though is only an excuse, in reality, the 333 minke Antarctic whales
that were killed last
year likely ended up at the dinner table. 

Of
the hundreds of whales that were taken in 2017 more than 180 of those
were female and of those, nearly 70% were pregnant making the hunt
even more tragic. 

If
the world cannot convince Japan to abandon its whaling program the
bloodshed will continue since the country says they intend to kill at
least 4000 whales over the next decade. 

According
to a 2014 ruling by the International Court of Justice, Japan is
breaking the law by continuing their Antarctic whaling
program. Countries
like Australia and animal rights organizations around the world have
urged Japan to stop to no avail. But we can’t give up. Each and every
one of our signatures let Japan know that we are against this
horrible practice. Together, by speaking up, we can send a strong
message.
