Turkije heeft gelijk met de terreuraanval op Syrisch grondgebied, aldus Hans Jaap Melissen……..

In het AVROTROS programma ‘Nieuwsweekend’ (de oude TROS Nieuwsshow, terug met de stumpers van der Weij en de Bie) aandacht voor de illegale Turkse inval in Syrië (een oorlogsmisdaad van formaat). Je begrijpt natuurlijk wel, dat de Turkse inval allesbehalve als ‘illegaal’ werd aangemerkt, zoals ook het woord ‘oorlogsmisdaad’ niet werd genoemd in dit Radio1 programma…….

Nee, sterker nog ‘oorlogscorrespondent’ Melissen, naast journalist Geerdink, gast voor dit onderwerp, begrijpt de Turken wel…… Dat zit zo: niet dat de YPG, de Koerdische strijders die dit gebied in handen hebben, ooit één aanslag hebben gepleegd in Turkije (wat uiteraard niet werd genoemd door Melissen noch door Geerdink), nee, de reden bestaat uit de eerste actie van de YPG na inname van Raqqa >> waar een enorme afbeelding werd opgehangen van PKK leider Öcalan, op het ‘hoofdplein’ van deze stad……… Alsof dit een terreurdaad van grote proporties is……..

Oh, dus een afbeelding van een gevangenzittende leider van de PKK ophangen is voor Melissen en de Turken voldoende om in een paar dagen tijd zo’n 500 mensen te vermoorden (waaronder vrouwen en kinderen) en dat tijdens deze illegale inval op Syrisch grondgebied, zoals gezegd is alleen dat al een oorlogsmisdaad van formaat…….

Volgens Melissen was hij aanwezig bij de bevrijding van Raqqa, althans anders kan je zijn woorden niet interpreteren, echter als je de werkwijze van Melissen in ogenschouw neemt, is dit een grove leugen, daar het deze ‘oorlogscorrespondent al dun door de broek loopt als hij in de verte een granaat hoort ontploffen. Zijn enige ‘aanwezigheid’ bij oorlogshandelingen, is als hij embedded is en dan nog in de achterhoede, zo heeft hij een paar keer bewezen……. Bij alle andere oorlogshandelingen is Melissen, als zijn collega Jan Eikelboom ver van het front het liefst zelfs in een ander land, waar deze figuren dan vooral over ‘de moeilijkheden en het gevaar’ praten waar ze mee te maken hebben……….

Voorts stelde Melissen dat de VS Raqqa voor de helft heeft platgebombardeerd na opdracht van de Koerden…… Het was deze fantast nog niet opgevallen dat deze manier ‘van werken’ constant wordt gevolgd door de VS, of je het nu over Raqqa, Mosul, Fallujah of andere steden in Syrië en Irak hebt…… Zelfs de VN vangt bot als het de VS verzoekt te stoppen met bombardementen op burgerdoelen, zoals bewezen bij de ‘bevrijding’ van West-Mosul en (alweer) Raqqa…….. Kortom de VS heeft de Koerden niet nodig voor deze oorlogsmisdaden; Melissen gebruikte weliswaar niet het woord opdracht, maar stelde dat de Koerden dankbaar moeten zijn voor deze actie van de VS…….

Geerdink was het grotendeels wel eens met Melissen, zij wil dan ook graag terug naar Turkije en Melissen bevindt zich meestal aan de Turkse kant van de grens met Syrië, dus geen kritiek op Turkije…… (Melissen stelde nog een keer nadrukkelijk dat hij regelmatig door het gebied reist, het gebied dat de Turken ‘veilig’ willen stellen….. Echter keer op keer blijkt dat hij aan de Turkse kant van de grens ‘door het Syrische gebied reist….’)

Zowel Melissen als Geerdink noemden Assad een dictator…. Ach ja, je kan van ‘journalisten en oorlogscorrespondenten’ niet verwachten dat ze op de hoogte zijn van het feit, dat Assad middels door internationale waarnemers goedgekeurde democratische verkiezingen tot president werd gekozen en dat door het overgrote deel van de Syrische bevolking………

Vanmiddag was het bal op WDR 5: daar werd o.a. het hierboven genoemde aantal door Turkije bij deze inval vermoorde mensen genoemd. Ook de correspondent voor de WDR noemde de YPG een terroristische organisatie, nogmaals alsof deze organisatie aanslagen heeft gepleegd in Turkije……..

In Keulen vindt momenteel een grote Koerdische demonstratie plaats tegen de Turkse inval. WDR meldde dat er vlaggen en andere materiaal met de afbeelding van PKK leider Öcalan in beslag waren genomen……

Duitsland verbiedt dus afbeeldingen van Öcalan in haar straten……. Ongelofelijk: waarom verbiedt Duitsland dan niet de Turkse vlag in haar straten, immers de staatsterreur van Turkije tegen de Koerden, is oneindig veel groter dan de wanhopige ‘terreurdaden van de PKK??!!!’ (ofwel het gaat hier om Koerdisch verzet tegen Turkse staatsterreur)

Hoe is het in godsnaam mogelijk dat Nederland, de EU en anderen, de grootschalige terreur van Turkije in eigen land en in Syrië niet veroordelen, maar wel de PKK op een internationale terreurlijst hebben gezet……. Nog zotter eigenlijk: de zogenaamde onafhankelijke reguliere media die e.e.a. uitdragen en verdedigen……. Walgelijk!!

Joost Lagendijk (ex-GroenLinks ‘politicus’), Turkije heeft gelijk met onderdrukking van de Koerden…..

‘Viel’ vanmiddag rond 15.12 u. in een gesprek op Radio1 over de Turkse aanval op noordelijk Syrisch grondgebied, dit daar Turkije de Koerdisch/Syrische YPG als een bedreiging voor Turkije ziet, terwijl deze Koerdische strijdgroep niet ook maar één aanval heeft gepleegd tegen Turkije…….

In de studio (althans dat neem ik aan) Joost Lagendijk, de ex-‘politicus’ van GroenLinks en o.a. ex-journalist van de Turkse krant Zaman, een krant die aangemerkt werd als Gülen propaganda orgaan, waarop hij Turkije niet meer in mocht. Verder in de studio Fréderike Geerdink, die als correspondent in Turkije werkte en daar eerder een paar uur vastzat in de stad Diyarbakır, vanwege ‘het verspreiden van propaganda; (lees: de waarheid openbaren). Later dat jaar 2015, werd Geerdink in Zuidoost-Turkije samen met demonstranten van de Koerdische partij HDP gearresteerd, dit op verdenking van in verboden (Koerdisch) gebied te zijn geweest, daarop werd ze het land uitgezet.

Lagendijk stelde dat hij de Turkse strijd tegen de Koerdische PKK begrijpt, immers deze groepering (ook politieke partij) heeft veel aanslagen gepleegd in Turkije….. Kijk, zo kennen we ‘onze Joost’ weer, de Turkse regering likken, zijn specialiteit, althans totdat hij het land niet meer in mocht…….. Je snapt natuurlijk wel, dat Lagendijk niet even vertelde waarom de PKK de Turkse overheid bevecht, dat zou zijn terugkeer naar Turkije maar verder kunnen vertragen (Lagendijk was woonachtig in Turkije)…. Al moet ik zeggen dat ik Lagendijk nooit eerder heb gehoord over de ellende die de Turkse Koerden keer op keer te beurt valt…….

Geerdink viel Lagendijk bij, al maakte zij nog wel de opmerking dat de YPG, tegen wie Turkije nu vecht, nooit ook maar een steen naar de Turken aan de overkant van de grens hebben gegooid……… De Turkse (illegale) aanval op Syrisch grondgebied gebeurt zo ongeveer met instemming van de hele westerse wereld……. ‘Zelfs’ de ‘onafhankelijke’ NOS legt de situatie uit, zonder één woord van kritiek op Turkije te gebruiken…….

Turkije voert al decennia lang een ware terreur in Koerdisch gebied, een zaak die amper aandacht krijgt in het westen, niet zo vreemd, daar Turkije de gebieden waar zij tegen de Koerden vecht tot verboden gebied verklaart voor journalisten, advocaten en mensenrechtenorganisaties…….. (neem de laatste arrestatie van Geerdink) Bij die Turkse terreur zijn al vele duizenden Koerden (waaronder vrouwen, kinderen en ouden van dagen) vermoord……

Ach, blijkbaar moet je in de ogen van de reguliere westerse media en het merendeel van de westerse politici dit soort terreur gelaten over je heen laten komen en vooral geen poging doen om onafhankelijk te worden van Turkije, laat staan dat je gewapend terugslaat…… (dat ‘deden wij tenslotte ook niet tijdens de nazi-Duitse bezetting…..’

Tekenend ook dat de VS de Koerden alweer laat vallen, zoals ze dit in het verleden al eerder deed na de eerste oorlog van de VS tegen Irak in 1991. De Koerden kwamen toen na een oproep daartoe van de VS in opstand tegen het leger van Saddam Hoessein, echter de door de VS beloofde militaire steun bleef uit……

Triest dat ook Geerdink het opneemt voor de terreur van de fascistische Erdogan dictatuur tegen de Koerden (in Turkije), terwijl zij moet weten hoe Turkije huishoudt in Koerdisch gebied, waarschijnlijk doet Geerdink dit, daar ze graag terug wil naar Turkije………

Iran, de protesten en wat de media je niet vertellen………

De protesten in Iran worden met grote graagte door de westerse media en politici uitgedragen als een welkome opstand tegen de fundamentalistische heersers, zonder rekening te houden met de huidige gematigde regering. Iran is fout punt uit!
Door deze eenzijdige reactie van het westen, krijgen juist de fundamentalistische heersers op de achtergrond de wind in de zeilen, immers het westen is allesbehalve een vriend van Iran of haar burgers. De roep om ingrijpen in Iran klinkt al jaren keihard, niet bepaald in de laatste plaats door de VS en het grootste deel van de NAVO leden. Daar deed de handreiking van Obama weinig aan af, een handreiking die intussen al weer is teruggedraaid door de Trump administratie……

De VS heeft trouwens al veel langer gewelddadige activisten in Iran gesteund, dit om de regering ten val te brengen (waarin ook Nederland een rol speelde) en reken maar dat de CIA zelf ook actief is in Iran……..
De huidige demonstranten zijn bepaald niet vreedzaam, zoals dit wel het geval was tijdens het grootste deel van de ‘Groene Revolutie’ in 2009, ze zijn gewapend en brengen grote vernielingen aan, zoals het in brand steken van gebouwen…… De aantallen demonstranten zijn een stuk minder groot dan men aanneemt in het westen. Politiebureaus en wapendepots zijn door demonstranten overvallen om zo aan meer wapens te komen….
Zoals gezegd: de kans is weer levensgroot dat een deel van de demonstranten in Iran is gekocht door de VS, die een reputatie hebben op het gebied van opstanden organiseren, opstanden die dan moeten uitlopen in het afzetten van een VS onwelgevallige regering……. Voorbeelden van het organiseren van dit soort opstanden door de VS (CIA), opstanden die in een coup moesten uitmonden en wat meestal lukt: Libië, Oekraïne, Syrië (in dit land mislukte de coup tegen Assad) en voor Zuid-Amerika Honduras, Brazilië en Venezuela (let wel: dit zijn de laatst bekende voorbeelden). In het volgende artikel kan u lezen dat Rex Tillerson, de VS minister van Buitenlandse Zaken, e.e.a. toegeeft wat betreft Iran, zo bleek uit een uitgelekt memorandum…..

 Ook in het volgende artikel (van Darius Shahtahmasebi) o.a. de stelling dat de conservatieve krachten in Iran baat hebben bij deze protesten om zo de gematigde president Rohani onder druk te zetten…… Dat de VS zelfs deze krachten zou steunen is niets nieuws, als de VS een regering ten val wil brengen, schijnt alles geoorloofd te zijn (zelfs samenwerking met terreurgroepen als IS en Al Qaida…)……

Everything the Media Isn’t Telling You About the Protests Rocking Iran Right Now

(ANTIMEDIA Op-ed) — Over the past week, Iran has been hit with series of protests, reportedly in relation to the country’s current economic climate. Where this particular narrative is headed is of major concern because of the current atmosphere in the Middle East and its deadly dynamics.
Approximately two weeks ago, the truth about U.S. foreign policy was revealed in a leaked memo that purportedly coached Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on how to use human rights as a pretense to attack America’s adversaries
“Allies should be treated differently — and better — than adversaries. Otherwise, we end up with more adversaries, and fewer allies,” stated the memo, which was written by Tillerson’s influential policy aide, Brian Hook. Approximately two weeks ago, the truth about U.S. foreign policy was revealed in a leaked memo that purportedly coached Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on how to use human rights as a pretense to attack America’s adversaries
As part of the U.S. foreign policy playbook, in June 2017, Tillerson himself confirmed that official U.S. policy towards Iran included a regime change strategy. He said:
“We continually review the merits both from the standpoint of diplomatic but also international consequences of designating the Iranian Revolutionary Guard in its entirety as a terrorist organization. As you know, we have designated the Quds [Force]. Our policy towards Iran is to push back on this hegemony, contain their ability to develop obviously nuclear weapons, and to work toward support of those elements inside of Iran that would lead to a peaceful transition of that government. Those elements are there, certainly as we know.” [emphasis added]
Around the same time, the Trump administration appointed Michael D’Andrea, the CIA’s “Dark Prince,” to head the CIA’s “Iran operations.” Given the CIA overthrew Iran’s democratically elected government in 1953, relying almost completely on one die-hard agent to do so, this program’s trajectory should be clear.
Barely days after D’Andrea’s appointment, Iran was coincidentally rocked by an ISIS-inspired attack. Republican congressman Rep. Dana Rohrabacher suggested the attack was “a good thing.”
In December, CIA director Mike Pompeo admitted he sent a letter to General Qassem Soleimani, a stalwart leader of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), saying he will hold Iran and Soleimani “accountable” for any attacks on Washington’s interests in Iraq. This is the same IRGC commander who announced Iran would begin supporting Palestinian forces in the Gaza strip after Trump’s infamous Jerusalem debacle.
Unsurprisingly, U.S. intelligence agencies reportedly just gave the green light to Israel to assassinate this commander, a clear act of war.

 The timing of the current protests has coincided with reports that the U.S. and Israel formulated a joint plan to specifically target Iran. This coincides with Nikki Haley’s grandiose anti-Iran performance, which has been full of deceit and hawkish propaganda. Further, Israel hopes these protests will be an opportunity to take the Iranian government’s attention away from Israel, according to a top intelligence expert.
Even without Iranians taking to the streets, it is clear that the Trump administration and its regional allies have been planning to take the fight to Iran.
Discerning the Truth About the Recent Protests
What should we make of the recent protests sweeping the country?
Even according to the mainstream media, the protests are not exactly what they seem. Iran’s president acknowledged that Iranians have a right to peaceful protest and that the protesters are not necessarily guided by foreign elements as “a number of them are the people who came to the streets because of their (economic) problems.”
“Criticism is different [from] violence and destroying public property,” he also reportedly said.
According to Haaretz, the protests were initially riled up by Iran’s conservative hard-line opposition to put pressure on the current Iranian president, who is considered a moderate. The protesters are not necessarily the democracy-seeking students the media has portrayed them as.
The mainstream media further acknowledged that the Iranian authorities are actively trying to avoid a massive crackdown. From Slate:
“It seems clear that Iranian leaders are trying to avoid a massive crackdown of the surprisingly large protests for now, worried that any huge repression could lead to a crisis similar to what took place in 2009.”
As Reuters explained:

“Iranian moderates are appealing for caution even though some hardliners are calling for an iron fist to crush one of the gravest threats to Iran’s clerical leaders, who came to power in the 1979 Islamic revolution.
“Those divisions are making it hard for the authorities to defuse spontaneous demonstration, especially as there are no apparent protest leaders who can be identified and rounded up.”
The media is still treating the videos of anti-government protesters shouting “Death to the dictator!” as “unconfirmed,” meaning they haven’t been properly verified. Or consider this recent Reuters report, which stated the following:
“Mohsen Nasj Hamadani, deputy security chief in Tehran province, said about 50 people had rallied in a square but most had left after being asked to by police, while a few who refused were ‘temporarily detained,’ the ILNA news agency reported.”
Carl Bildt, former Swedish prime minister and co-chair for the European Council on Foreign Relations quickly took to Twitter to state that there were “[r]eports of signals of international satellite TV networks jammed in large cities of Iran. Would be sign of regime fear of today’s protests spreading.” However, the only reports that can be found online of jammed international TV networks are from at least five years prior to the current unrest. Not surprisingly, Wikileaks cables suggested Bildt served as a U.S. government informant when he was just 27 years old.
In other words, it would pay to be overly meticulous when following the reports on this intricate topic.
To be clear, the protests are not nearly as concerned with Iran’s foreign policy as much as some media outlets are claiming they are. As the Atlantic explained:
“Unlike what President Trump suggests, the protests aren’t about Iran’s broader behaviour and foreign policy. And they’re not about the regime’s support for terrorism…their main concern lies in the price of day-to-day items and goods, such as poultry and eggs, as well as unemployment and access to services.”
The death toll in the protests and the authorities’ inevitable response quickly grew to at least 12 — a damning statistic for the Iranian government. However, whether the following allegations are true or not, the mainstream media has acknowledged that deaths occurred as a result of confrontation, specifically, the claim that armed protesters began storming military bases and police stations. Other government compounds were stormed, as well, with protesters lighting fires in government offices.
These are no longer students who are complaining about the price of eggs or the right to dress in modern clothing (in a remarkable coincidence, just before the protests erupted, Tehran’s police stated they would no longer arrest women for violating the Islamic dress code). Overrunning military bases and police stations with arms doesn’t make you a protester, it makes you a militant. As journalist Ben Norton wrote on his Facebook page, “If ‘armed protesters’ (quite a phrase) tried to overrun military bases and police stations in the US, it would declare martial law.”
Things may not be so dire in Iran to require an armed uprising just yet (just take a look at the thousands of pro-government supporters who have rallied the streets of Iran’s major cities). It would be disingenuous to pay sole attention to the anti-government protesters while ignoring the thousands of those who do support their government. This is not to say that Iranians do not have genuine cause to take to the streets and protest, but it certainly gives good cause to the international community that perhaps — just this once — it would do well to mind its own business.
Even according to some of the biggest corporate media outlets, there is likely foul play if people are taking arms against the Iranian government in the current circumstances. As the New York Magazine acknowledged:
“As The Guardian and New York Times point out, small protests focused on economic issues are normal in Iran, but politically charged protests across the country where people feel safe chanting ‘death to the dictator’ — a knock on Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei — are not. The protests will undoubtedly be an important test for the relatively moderate Rouhani, who has not been spared as a subject of chanting at the rallies; in his remarks on Sunday, Rouhani was clearly trying to walk a delicate line. There is also apparently suspicion among members of his administration and other reformers about what forces may be behind the unrest.” [emphasis added]
The West’s Hypocrisy is Staggering
Despite this, Donald Trump was quick to take to Twitter to condemn Iran and voice his support for the protesters. State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert also said in a statement that the U.S. urged “all nations to publicly support the Iranian people and their demands for basic rights and an end to corruption.”
This is the same administration that banned the Iranian people from merely visiting the United States.
Even Hillary Clinton voiced her support for the Iranian people currently protesting against the government. Apparently, Clinton has forgotten about the video of her where she broke into hysterical laughter while talking about the U.S.’ desire to launch a war against Iran, which would undoubtedly kill hundreds of thousands of ordinary Iranians.
We would also do well to remember that after Donald Trump was elected U.S. president at the end of 2016, America was inundated with anti-Trump protests. Los Angeles police arrested at least 462 people at the time. America’s NATO ally Turkey arrested, detained, suspended, and fired tens of thousands of teachers, lawyers, military officers, and court officials (with at least 249 deaths in total) – and yet Donald Trump has only appeared to praise the Turkish government’s crackdown.
America’s Middle Eastern darling, Israel, has also been rocked by thousands of protesters participating in anti-corruption marches specifically targeting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Israel also infamously locked up a young teenage girl who was brave enough to slap an Israeli soldier who had invaded her home.
For the sake of argument, let’s all agree that Iran’s protests are genuine. That fact alone isn’t grounds for an illegal regime change operation given the international standards the rest of the world has been operating under for years. Allowing Trump to take the protests for a ride to serve his own ludicrous foreign policy agenda also undermines the intellect and history of Iran and its people, as the Atlantic explains:
“Iranians aren’t ‘finally’ waking up and ‘getting wise,’ as Trump suggests. Instead, Iran has a dynamic and active civil society, which has created and embraced opportunities for reformation and progress for decades…And many Iranians have paid for these ideals with their lives.”
Don’t buy into the hypocrisy. Donald Trump does not care about ordinary Iranians, and he certainly doesn’t care about Iran’s access to democracy. If Donald Trump cared about the Iranian people’s economic concerns, the simple solution would be to stop unilaterally slamming the country with economic sanctions on a routine basis.
In the words of the Atlantic, Donald Trump “barely understands the country he’s repeatedly demonized.”
We’ve been here before. The groundwork is being laid for a direct confrontation with Iran, and we are naïve at best if we decide to take the bait. America’s footprint in the Middle East was never rooted in any concerns for human rights, and believe it or not, America’s interests and desires are always rooted in money.
The last thing Iran needs right now in order to move towards a more democratic and economically viable country is the direct interference of the United States, a country that has reportedly killed over one million Muslims since the 9/11 attacks.
If the Iranians want to exact change; they can and will do it themselves. As stated by the Tudeh Party of Iran, an Iranian communist party formed in 1941:
“It should be noted that under the critical conditions of the current dangerous regional tensions, the regional reaction – supported by the Trump administration in the US and the right-wing government of Netanyahu in Israel – is seeking to distinctly impact the developments in our country and to replace the current reactionary regime with another reactionary regime.
“The support of these forces…for the Iranian monarchists and those political groups whose agenda is to cooperate with the most reactionary regimes of the region and to persuade the European states to impose sanctions on Iran’s economy – thereby exacerbating the misery for the destitute and disadvantaged people of our country – and to encourage foreign states to interfere militarily in Iran, leaves no room whatsoever for any optimism regarding the future designs of such ‘opposition’…We should not let the past repeat itself whereby the heroic struggle of the nation for freedom, democracy and social justice is hijacked by a bunch of reactionary opportunities who do not believe in the people’s rights or democratic freedoms.”
Correction: A previous version of this article stated the Trump administration was behind the arrests of protesters in Los Angeles after his election in November 2016. It has been corrected to reflect that while police arrested protesters, they did not do so at the direction of the Trump administration as he had not yet taken office. Protesters at his inauguration, however, were arrested and have gone on to face charges this year.

Het volgende artikel geschreven door Ray McGovern was nog niet gepubliceerd of Trump beloofde ook de rest van de JFK documenten vrij te geven, terwijl hij eerder onder druk van de CIA en NSA 300 pagina’s achterhield.

Daarmee was de kop van het McGovern artikel achterhaald, al moeten we eerst nog zien, of Trump kan leveren, immers de geheime diensten hebben hem bijna volledig in hun macht gekregen met de Russia-gate leugens*.

Verder een artikel met alweer toch een aantal nieuwe feiten, waaruit de conclusie bijna niet is te vermijden dat de CIA heeft meegewerkt aan de moord op J.F. Kennedy, uiteraard in opdracht en samenwerking met het militair-industrieel complex. Kennedy was van plan de aanwezige troepen uit Zuid-Vietnam terug te trekken, dat zou deze industrie een paar miljard dollar aan winst kosten…… Uiteraard was de mislukte invasie op Cuba een stevige plank aan de doodskist van Kennedy, men heeft hem nooit vergeven dat hij geen troepen stuurde naar Cuba om de gevangen genomen militairen te bevrijden, sterker nog: Kennedy ontsloeg de verantwoordelijken voor het Bay of Pigs incident…..

Truman, de ex-president plaatste een maand na de moord op Kennedy een artikel in de Washington Post, waarin hij pleitte de macht van de CIA aan banden te leggen, dit werd niet herhaald in de late editie van deze krant en werd gemeden door de rest van de reguliere media in de VS, terwijl Truman NB de CIA had opgezet in 1947……….

 Fifty-four years after President Kennedy’s assassination, the CIA and FBI demanded more time to decide what secrets to keep hiding – and a chastened President Trump bowed to their power, observes ex-CIA analyst Ray McGovern.
(CN) — It was summer 1963 when a senior official of CIA’s operations directorate treated our Junior Officer Trainee (JOT) class to an unbridled rant against President John F. Kennedy. He accused JFK, among other things, of rank cowardice in refusing to send U.S. armed forces to bail out Cuban rebels pinned down during the CIA-launched invasion at the Bay of Pigs, blowing the chance to drive Cuba’s Communist leader Fidel Castro from power.
It seemed beyond odd that a CIA official would voice such scathing criticism of a sitting President at a training course for those selected to be CIA’s future leaders. I remember thinking to myself, “This guy is unhinged; he would kill Kennedy, given the chance.”
Our special guest lecturer looked a lot like E. Howard Hunt, but more than a half-century later, I cannot be sure it was he. Our notes from such training/indoctrination were classified and kept under lock and key.
At the end of our JOT orientation, we budding Agency leaders had to make a basic choice between joining the directorate for substantive analysis or the operations directorate where case officers run spies and organize regime changes (in those days, we just called the process overthrowing governments).
I chose the analysis directorate and, once ensconced in the brand new headquarters building in Langley, Virginia, I found it strange that subway-style turnstiles prevented analysts from going to the “operations side of the house,” and vice versa. Truth be told, we were never one happy family.
I cannot speak for my fellow analysts in the early 1960s, but it never entered my mind that operatives on the other side of the turnstiles might be capable of assassinating a President – the very President whose challenge to do something for our country had brought many of us to Washington in the first place. But, barring the emergence of a courageous whistleblower-patriot like Daniel Ellsberg, Chelsea Manning or Edward Snowden, I do not expect to live long enough to learn precisely who orchestrated and carried out the assassination of JFK.
And yet, in a sense, those particulars seem less important than two main lessons learned: (1) If a President can face down intense domestic pressure from the power elite and turn toward peace with perceived foreign enemies, then anything is possible. The darkness of Kennedy’s murder should not obscure the light of that basic truth; and (2) There is ample evidence pointing to a state execution of a President willing to take huge risks for peace. While no post-Kennedy president can ignore that harsh reality, it remains possible that a future President with the vision and courage of JFK might beat the odds – particularly as the American Empire disintegrates and domestic discontent grows.
I do hope to be around next April after the 180-day extension for release of the remaining JFK documents. But – absent a gutsy whistleblower – I wouldn’t be surprised to see in April, a Washington Post banner headline much like the one that appeared Saturday: “JFK files: The promise of revelations derailed by CIA, FBI.”
The New Delay Is the Story
You might have thought that almost 54 years after Kennedy was murdered in the streets of Dallas – and after knowing for a quarter century the supposedly final deadline for releasing the JFK files – the CIA and FBI would not have needed a six-month extension to decide what secrets that they still must hide.
Journalist Caitlin Johnstone hits the nail on the head in pointing out that the biggest revelation from last week’s limited release of the JFK files is “the fact that the FBI and CIA still desperately need to keep secrets about something that happened 54 years ago.”
What was released on Oct. 26, was a tiny fraction of what had remained undisclosed in the National Archives. To find out why, one needs to have some appreciation of a 70-year-old American political tradition that might be called “fear of the spooks.”
That the CIA and FBI are still choosing what we should be allowed to see concerning who murdered John Kennedy may seem unusual, but there is hoary precedent for it. After JFK’s assassination on Nov. 22, 1963, the well-connected Allen Dulles, whom Kennedy had fired as CIA director after the Bay of Pigs fiasco, got himself appointed to the Warren Commission and took the lead in shaping the investigation of JFK’s murder.
By becoming de facto head of the Commission, Dulles was perfectly placed to protect himself and his associates, if any commissioners or investigators were tempted to question whether Dulles and the CIA played any role in killing Kennedy. When a few independent-minded journalists did succumb to that temptation, they were immediately branded – you guessed it – “conspiracy theorists.”
And so, the big question remains: Did Allen Dulles and other “cloak-and-dagger” CIA operatives have a hand in John Kennedy’s assassination and subsequent cover-up? In my view and the view of many more knowledgeable investigators, the best dissection of the evidence on the murder appears in James Douglass’s 2008 book, JFK and the Unspeakable: Why He Died and Why It Matters.
After updating and arraying the abundant evidence, and conducting still more interviews, Douglass concludes that the answer to the big question is Yes. Reading Douglass’s book today may help explain why so many records are still withheld from release, even in redacted form, and why, indeed, we may never see them in their entirety.
Truman: CIA a Frankenstein?
When Kennedy was assassinated, it must have occurred to former President Harry Truman, as it did to many others, that the disgraced Allen Dulles and his associates might have conspired to get rid of a President they felt was soft on Communism – and dismissive of the Deep State of that time. Not to mention their vengeful desire to retaliate for Kennedy’s response to the Bay of Pigs fiasco. (Firing Allen Dulles and other CIA paragons of the Deep State for that fiasco simply was not done.)
Exactly one month after John Kennedy was killed, the Washington Post published an op-ed by Harry Truman titled “Limit CIA Role to Intelligence.” The first sentence read, “I think it has become necessary to take another look at the purpose and operations of our Central Intelligence Agency.”
Strangely, the op-ed appeared only in the Post’s early edition on Dec. 22, 1963. It was excised from that day’s later editions and, despite being authored by the President who was responsible for setting up the CIA in 1947, the all-too-relevant op-ed was ignored in all other major media.
Truman clearly believed that the spy agency had lurched off in what Truman thought were troubling directions. He began his op-ed by underscoring “the original reason why I thought it necessary to organize this Agency … and what I expected it to do.” It would be “charged with the collection of all intelligence reports from every available source, and to have those reports reach me as President without Department ‘treatment’ or interpretations.”
Truman then moved quickly to one of the main things clearly bothering him. He wrote “the most important thing was to guard against the chance of intelligence being used to influence or to lead the President into unwise decisions.”
It was not difficult to see this as a reference to how one of the agency’s early directors, Allen Dulles, tried to trick President Kennedy into sending U.S. forces to rescue the group of invaders who had landed on the beach at the Bay of Pigs in April 1961 with no chance of success, absent the speedy commitment of U.S. air and ground support. The planned mouse-trapping of the then-novice President Kennedy had been underpinned by a rosy “analysis” showing how this pin-prick on the beach would lead to a popular uprising against Fidel Castro.
Wallowing in the Bay of Pigs
Arch-Establishment figure Allen Dulles was offended when young President Kennedy, on entering office, had the temerity to question the CIA’s Bay of Pigs plans, which had been set in motion under President Dwight Eisenhower. When Kennedy made it clear he would not approve the use of U.S. combat forces, Dulles set out, with supreme confidence, to give the President no choice except to send U.S. troops to the rescue.
Coffee-stained notes handwritten by Allen Dulles were discovered after his death and reported by historian Lucien S. Vandenbroucke. In his notes, Dulles explained that, “when the chips were down,” Kennedy would be forced by “the realities of the situation” to give whatever military support was necessary “rather than permit the enterprise to fail.”
The “enterprise” which Dulles said could not fail was, of course, the overthrow of Fidel Castro. After mounting several failed operations to assassinate Castro, this time Dulles meant to get his man, with little or no attention to how Castro’s patrons in Moscow might react eventually. (The next year, the Soviets agreed to install nuclear missiles in Cuba as a deterrent to future U.S. aggression, leading to the Cuban Missile Crisis).
In 1961, the reckless Joint Chiefs of Staff, whom then-Deputy Secretary of State George Ball later described as a “sewer of deceit,” relished any chance to confront the Soviet Union and give it, at least, a black eye. (One can still smell the odor from that sewer in many of the documents released last week.)
But Kennedy stuck to his guns, so to speak. A few months after the abortive invasion of Cuba — and his refusal to send the U.S. military to the rescue — Kennedy fired Dulles and his co-conspirators and told a friend that he wanted to “splinter the CIA into a thousand pieces and scatter it into the winds.” Clearly, the outrage was mutual.
When JFK and the Unspeakable: Why He Died and Why It Matters came out, the mainstream media had an allergic reaction and gave it almost no reviews. It is a safe bet, though, that Barack Obama was given a copy and that this might account in some degree for his continual deference – timorousness even – toward the CIA.
Could fear of the Deep State be largely why President Obama felt he had to leave the Cheney/Bush-anointed CIA torturers, kidnappers and black-prison wardens in place, instructing his first CIA chief, Leon Panetta, to become, in effect, the agency’s lawyer rather than take charge? Is this why Obama felt he could not fire his clumsily devious Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, who had to apologize to Congress for giving “clearly erroneous” testimony under oath in March 2013? Does Obama’s fear account for his allowing then-National Security Agency Director Keith Alexander and counterparts in the FBI to continue to mislead the American people, even though the documents released by Edward Snowden showed them – as well as Clapper – to be lying about the government’s surveillance activities?
Is this why Obama fought tooth and nail to protect CIA Director John Brennan by trying to thwart publication of the comprehensive Senate Intelligence Committee investigation of CIA torture, which was
based on original Agency cables, emails, and headquarters memos? [See here and here.]
The Deep State Today
Many Americans cling to a comforting conviction that the Deep State is a fiction, at least in a “democracy” like the United States. References to the enduring powers of the security agencies and other key bureaucracies have been essentially banned by the mainstream media, which many other suspicious Americans have come to see as just one more appendage of the Deep State.
But occasionally the reality of how power works pokes through in some unguarded remark by a Washington insider, someone like Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-New York, the Senate Minority Leader with 36 years of experience in Congress. As Senate Minority Leader, he also is an ex officio member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, which is supposed to oversee the intelligence agencies.
During a Jan. 3, 2017 interview with MSNBC’S Rachel Maddow, Schumer told Maddow nonchalantly about the dangers awaiting President-elect Donald Trump if he kept on “taking on the intelligence community.” She and Schumer were discussing Trump’s sharp tweeting regarding U.S. intelligence and evidence of “Russian hacking” (which both Schumer and Maddow treat as flat fact).
Schumer said: “Let me tell you, you take on the intelligence community, they have six ways from Sunday at getting back at you. So even for a practical, supposedly hard-nosed businessman, he’s being really dumb to do this.”
Three days after that interview, President Obama’s intelligence chiefs released a nearly evidence-free “assessment” claiming that the Kremlin engaged in a covert operation to put Trump into office, fueling a “scandal” that has hobbled Trump’s presidency. On Monday, Russia-gate special prosecutor Robert Mueller indicted Trump’s one-time campaign manager Paul Manafort on unrelated money laundering, tax and foreign lobbying charges, apparently in the hope that Manafort will provide incriminating evidence against Trump.
So, President Trump has been in office long enough to have learned how the game is played and the “six ways from Sunday” that the intelligence community has for “getting back at you.” He appears to be as intimidated as was President Obama.
Trump’s awkward acquiescence in the Deep State’s last-minute foot-dragging regarding release of the JFK files is simply the most recent sign that he, too, is under the thumb of what the Soviets used to call “the organs of state security.”

PS: Kennedy en dan met name zijn broer Robert gingen ook behoorlijk tekeer tegen de maffia en volgens een aantal deskundigen zou de maffia hebben samengewerkt met de geheime dienst. Na de vreselijke terreuraanslag in New York, waarbij 8 mensen omkwamen en 13 mensen gewond raakten, twitterde Trump, dat deze dader de doodstraf moet krijgen……. De imbeciel besefte niet dat hij met zijn uitspraak de doodstraf vrijwel onmogelijk heeft gemaakt voor deze dader (en dat is maar goed ook, de doodstraf hoort thuis in de barbaarse tijden, die de meeste westerse landen gelukkig ver achter zich hebben gelaten).

Er is nu geen jury meer te vinden , die niet bevooroordeeld zal zijn……..

Echter er is meer mis met deze uitspraak van het beest Trump. ‘Uiteraard’ begrijpt Trump, die boogt op een groot IQ, de oorzaak van dit soort aanslagen niet….. Zelf heeft Trump dit jaar al duizenden (‘onschuldige’*) mensen laten vermoorden in illegale oorlogen, die godbetert door de VS zijn begonnen, mensen die de VS niets maar dan ook helemaal niets hebben misdaan………

Daarnaast is Trump verantwoordelijk voor een onbekend maar groot aantal vermoorde mensen, die niet eens verdacht werden van wat dan ook, dit bij drone aanvallen. Al zouden er bij die aanvallen alleen verdachten worden vermoord, is dat alsnog illegaal, immers het gaat om standrechtelijke executies, ofwel ‘weldoordachte’ moordaanslagen…… Meer dan 90% van de slachtoffers van die drone aanslagen is niet eens verdacht, waar de meeste slachtoffers vrouwen en kinderen zijn……….

Zo bezien: hoe vaak zou de doodstraf moeten worden uitgesproken tegen massamoordenaar Trump, als hijzelf vindt dat je voor het doden van 8 mensen de doodstraf verdient???

Ook vreemd is het feit, dat Trump dit soort dingen niet zegt, als een idioot in de VS z’n wapens leegschiet op bijvoorbeeld winkelend publiek…… Waar deze aanslagen niet eens worden gekwalificeerd als terreur aanslagen……. ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! (ja ik weet ‘t, niets om te lachen in deze, maar dit feit is zo belachelijk dat je er alleen maar om kan lachen)

Overigens kan je gerust concluderen, dat de meeste aanslagplegers standrechtelijk worden geëxecuteerd door politie en/of speciale diensten, zoals dit bij de Molukkers gebeurde in De Punt in 1977 door mariniers, standrechtelijke executies waarvoor de toenmalige regering haar toestemming gaf…..**
Het viel me mee, dat de dader in New York niet werd doodgeschoten.

Vreemd deze executies daar je anders zo’n verdachte kan verhoren en zien of deze wel of geen mededaders heeft, of wie de dader voorzag van de middelen om een aanslag te plegen (immers in het verleden bleek meermaals dat geheime diensten daders van het e.e.a. voorzagen, zodat een dader daadwerkelijk een aanslag kon plegen…)….. Een voorbeeld in Nederland was de handgranaat die werd gebruikt tegen de politie in het Haagse Laakkwartier, hoewel ontkend door de overheid was het wel duidelijk dat deze granaat niet van de zwarte markt kwam en het bijna niet anders kan, dan dat de AIVD en/of de MIVD hier een rol in moet hebben gespeeld….. Kortom ‘je zou bijna concluderen’ dat de overheden er baat bij hebben daders van terreuraanslagen het zwijgen op te leggen……

* ‘Onschuldige slachtoffers’, dit soort kromme taal wordt door de reguliere westerse media en de meeste politici uit die landen gebruikt. Terwijl oorlogen natuurlijk nooit goed te praten zijn en hebben alle burgers in de landen die worden aangevallen, geen rol in de kromme redenen die worden aangevoerd om die oorlogen te beginnen……. Waar de VS op dat gebied wel de topterrorist is, als het gaat om het voeren van illegale oorlogen en de smerige leugens die het gebuikt om zo’n oorlog te beginnen, neem de illegale oorlog tegen Irak…… De VS heeft na WOII tot nu, meer dan 22 miljoen burgerslachtoffers vermoord in: -illegale oorlogen, -geheime militaire CIA acties, -economische oorlogsvoering (zoals de VS boycot van Irak die meer dan 1 miljoen kinderen het leven koste…), plus -het organiseren van opstanden en staatsgrepen………..

Vreemd ook dat de hiervoor genoemde media en politici nooit spreken over ‘moord’, of beter gezegd ‘massamoord’ als het gaat om het moorddadig optreden van de VS (de grootste terreurentiteit op aarde!) en haar oorlogshond de NAVO……

Het kan u niet ontgaan zijn, de ‘schietpartij’ (alsof het een feest is…), ofwel massamoord gisteren in Las Vegas…… Een kolfje naar de hand van de reguliere media, waarbij BBC World Service (radio) wat mij betreft, de grootste sensatiebrenger was……..

Het fragment waarin je een countryband hoort spelen, waar na een paar seconden het geratel van een automatisch wapen is te horen, werd op de tijden dat ik naar BBC W.S. luisterde, minstens 10 keer uitgezonden. Men had zelfs een audiofragment van een verslaggever die de gebeurtenissen op een rij had gezet, daaronder liet men continu het geratel van voornoemd wapen horen……… (rond 14.10 u. gistermiddag)

BBC World Service bracht afgelopen nacht in het radionieuws van 1.00 u. het bericht dat Trump en ene Mitchell (er zijn meerdere politici in de VS met die achternaam) hun afschuw over de ‘schietpartij’ hebben uitgesproken, ze zeiden geschokt te zijn en Trump sprak over een duivelse daad……….

Voorts zeiden de 2 dat hun gedachten bij de slachtoffers en hun nabestaanden zijn. Daar zou ik de wapenfabrikanten aan toe willen voegen, die op de verkoop van wapens in de VS enorme kapitalen verdienen….. Niet dat ik verwacht dat er een verbod op het bezit van wapens zal volgen, niet nu, noch in de nabije toekomst…….

Vandaar ook dat de woorden van Trump en anderen een hypocriet praatje voor de vaak zijn, daar dezelfde politici de wapenverkoop aan particulieren niet willen verbieden, noch aan banden willen leggen, sterker nog men heeft zelfs een aantal belemmeringen teruggedraaid……..

In de VS sterven jaarlijks 30.000 mensen ten gevolge van vuurwapengeweld, daarmee laat het land andere landen ver achter zich……. Het is dan ook meer dan duidelijk, dat dit aantal doden juist wordt veroorzaakt door ‘het recht’ op wapenbezit dat men in de VS claimt via de grondwet…….

Trumps reactie is wel de meest zotte die ik hoorde, zeker als je bedenkt dat Trump sinds zijn aantreden verantwoordelijk is voor meer dan 50 moorden per dag, al vallen die niet in de VS, maar in de illegale oorlogen die de VS voert en de andere grootscheepse terreur van de VS middels drones, standrechtelijke executies, waarbij meer dan 90% van de vermoorde mensen, niet eens verdacht is…….

Zojuist op BBC World Service radio (rond 12.10 u. CET), een verslaggever die in België en Duitsland ex-IS strijders opzocht. Opvallende conclusie (zeker voor de afhankelijke BBC): deze jonge mannen hebben voor een heel groot deel de islam de rug toegekeerd. Duidelijk getraumatiseerd gebruikt men zelfs alcohol en andere drugs…..

Volgens deze figuren zijn ze zwaar teleurgesteld, vanwege hun ervaringen onder IS bewind…..

U begrijp natuurlijk wel, dat de geheime diensten dit niet graag horen, immers men is met een voortdurende campagne bezig* angst- en haat te zaaien tegen deze ‘uiterst gevaarlijke mensen….’

Met elke gepleegde aanslag stijgt het budget voor deze diensten, die zelfs aanslagplegers niet tegen kunnen houden, als ze bij wijze van spreken naast de agenten van deze diensten lopen…… ‘Je zou je bijna gaan afvragen of die geheime diensten niet zelf meewerken aan die aanslagen……’

Mensen wat een ongelofelijk staaltje hypocrisie: gistermorgen op Radio1, BBC World Service en WDR5 (plus gegarandeerd de rest van de reguliere westerse media) in de berichtgeving over de gebeurtenissen tijdens een demonstratie van neonazi’s* in Charlottesville, Virginia (VS) en een tegendemonstratie van antifascisten, plus andere mensen, die het rechtse geweld (zowel fysiek als geestelijk), in eigen land meer dan zat zijn, werd gesteld dat ‘een vrouw was omgekomen‘ toen een rechtse demonstrant met zijn auto inreed op vreedzame demonstranten…….

Drie punten die bij voornoemde radiozenders niet te horen waren: die mevrouw werd vermoord middels een terreuraanslag door wat niet anders genoemd kan worden dan een (smerige) neonazi!!

‘De betoging trok ook veel tegendemonstranten. Zij werden zaterdag aangevallen. Een man reed met zijn auto in op de groep mensen. Een persoon overleed en 19 mensen raakten gewond‘.

Het woord ‘terreuraanslag’ ontbreekt, de woorden ‘vreedzame demonstranten’ ontbreken en het woord ‘neonazi’ (‘ een man….’) ontbreekt in deze alinea…….. Is het gvd niet treurig? Berichtgeving van de onafhankelijke zendgemachtigde NOS, betaald met ons belastinggeld…… En dan wel commentaar durven leveren op de uitlatingen van Trump, die de neonazi’s niet noemde in zijn reactie……..

Als er op hetzelfde tijdstip in Charlottesville of waar dan ook in de ‘westerse wereld’ een radiale moslim was ingereden op mensen, had men op zeker, de reguliere programmering deels onderbroken, om de luisteraars op de hoogte te houden van deze islamitische terreuraanslag……… En oh wat was men dan blij geweest, opgepompte sensatie door de reguliere media met harde veroordelingen en hypocriete steunbetuigingen………..

Dit alles ‘natuurlijk’ zonder enige aandacht voor de reden waarom geradicaliseerde moslims geweld gebruiken: de enorme westerse terreur in het Midden-Oosten…. Dit inclusief het bombarderen van Libië, waardoor dit land van het rijkste land van Afrika, werd teruggebombardeerd tot bijna het armste, een land dat nu in een enorm agressieve chaos is gedompeld, met dank aan illegale oorlogsvoering van het westen, o.l.v. de grootste terreurentiteit op aarde, de VS……

Over steunbetuigingen gesproken: waar waren PvdA hufter Koenders, VVD kloothommel Rutte en het nationale waterhoofd W.A. met hun veroordeling van deze neonazi terreuraanslag op vreedzame demonstranten?? Demonstranten die de haatzaaierij en terreur van de fascisten in hun land spuugzat zijn………….

Nog even over de NOS: gisteravond rond 19.00 u. was het bericht over Charlottesville op de webpagina van de NOS al ver naar de achtergrond verdrongen, hetzelfde bericht waarvan u hierboven een citaat kon lezen……. Er waren ‘veel belangrijker zaken’ die eerder werden genoemd, zoals: ‘Sprookje komt uit: fotomodel uit Lisse wordt morgen Maleisische prins‘, ‘Merkel nu ook op campagne. Worden Duitse verkiezingen nog spannend?‘, ‘Slowaakse sneltrein verliest tijdens de rit zijn locomotief‘, ‘Kluivert en Davids op de foto met dictator Mugabe‘ (ach ja, eens een verkrachter en auto-terrorist…..), ‘Oranje-ster Lieke Martens gehuldigd in geboorteplaats Nieuw Bergen‘, ‘Noord-Korea is een intrigerend land, ook voor Chinese dagjesmensen‘ en ‘Elon Musk haalt meer dan verwacht op voor Tesla Model 3……’ U snapt uiteraard waar het nieuws uit Charlottesville had gestaan, als het een terreuraanslag van een radicale moslim betrof, juist: bovenaan!!

Is het niet om schijtziek van te worden? Gadver!!

Afgelopen maandag kwam Anti-Media met een samenvatting van een studie, gemaakt door Physicians for Social Responsibility (PSR). De conclusdie van die studie: de VS maakte met haar ‘oorlog tegen terreur’* 10 keer zoveel slachtoffers, dan gemeld door de reguliere (massa-) media…….

Sinds 2001 zouden er al 2 miljoen slachtoffers te betreuren zijn door de terreur die de VS liet neerdalen in haar illegale oorlogen tegen Afghanistan, Irak, Libie en Syrië…… Overigens geen schokkend nieuws, vele deskundigen hebben deze 2 miljoen vermoordde slachtoffers al meer dan een halfjaar geleden gemeld.

Wel vreemd is de constatering van PSR dat tenminste één derde van alle slachtoffers direct zijn vermoord (dat woord wordt gemeden in de studie) door de bezettende machten…….. Terwijl het voor iedereen duidelijk is dat alle slachtoffers zijn te danken aan de agressie van de grootste terreurentiteit op aarde, de VS! Immers als de VS niet had ingegrepen en/of opstanden op touw had gezet, waren die 2 miljoen mensen niet het slachtoffer geworden van (VS) moord…..

In feite is die schatting van 2 miljoen slachtoffers aan de lage kant, dat erkent ook PSR. Wat PSR niet meldt is de steun van de VS (nu en/of in het verleden) voor IS, Al Qaida en andere terreurgroepen. Door deze steun zijn ook nog eens een enorm aantal mensen aan hun (vaak vreselijk) einde gekomen…….

Nafeez Ahmed werd door de Guardian de staat opgeschopt, vanwege zijn berichtgeving waarin hij de motieven gaf voor de Israëlische aanval op de Gazastrook in 2014. Deze Ahmed schat het aantal slachtoffers gemaakt door ingrijpen van de VS en haar hielenlikkers, op meer dan 4 miljoen……* Al moet dan weer gezegd worden, dat hij de Golfoorlog van 1991 tegen Irak en de slachtoffers door de VS boycot van Irak in de jaren daarna heeft meegerekend.

Dan zijn er nog de geheime operaties van de VS en de illegale standrechtelijke executies middels drones, waarbij meer dan 90% van de slachtoffers niet eens verdacht was/is…… De cijfers over het aantal doden die door drones vallen zijn nog moeilijker te achterhalen. Het is nog maar zelden, dat in de reguliere westerse media wordt bericht over deze ronduit terreuraanvallen van de VS……… Kortom zelfs het cijfer van 4 miljoen is hoogstwaarschijnlijk nog aan de lage kant…….

Those Killed by US-Led ‘War on Terror’ 10x Higher Than Reported by the Media

(ANTIMEDIA) — At the end of May, the Washington D.C.-based Physicians for Social Responsibility (PSR) released a study concluding that the death toll from the American-led “War on Terror” could be as high as two million just since the years following the 9/11 attacks.
The study, entitled “Body Count,” is 97 pages long and involved tallying up the total number of civilian casualties from U.S.-led adventures in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. Not surprisingly, the mainstream media has paid close to zero attention to this report despite the high-profile nature of the group that produced it (they shared in the 1985 Nobel Peace Prize with the International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War >> IPPNW).
The study found that in many instances, previous estimates had “grossly” underestimated the body count. According to the researchers:
“The figure is approximately 10 times greater than that of which the public, experts and decision makers are aware of and propagated by the media and major NGOs. And this is only a conservative estimate.”
The report also found previous estimates had whitewashed the culpability and responsibility of those who had done the killing. In regards to the Iraq War, PSR found that despite “all the inaccuracies…the answers still allowed for the conclusion that approximately one third of all victims of violence had been directly killed by the occupation forces.” [emphasis added]
The U.S. and its allies (particularly the United Kingdom) also bear the ultimate blame for civilian deaths, specifically, following the 2003 invasion. It was their presence that unleashed the chaos to begin with, as noted by independent journalist Ben Swann:
“Before the 2003 U.S. invasion, do you know how many suicide attacks there were in Iraq? None. In the country’s history there had never been one. But since the 2003 invasion, there have been 1,892.”
The PSR study also found some momentous flaws with a number of other death toll studies. For example, a paper in the New England Journal of Medicine ignored the areas of Iraq that were subject to the heaviest violence, including Baghdad, the capital city of Iraq.
Overall, the PSR speculated that the most accurate number for the death toll in Iraq since 2003 is about one million. Together with a conservative Afghanistan death toll of 220,000 and a Pakistani death toll of 80,000, the PSR found that the number of deaths from the “War on Terror” was at least 1.3 million. However, PSR concluded that the real figure could easily be “in excess of two million.”
Nafeez Ahmed, a journalist who was axed from the Guardian for exposing Israel’s motives for bombing the Gaza strip in 2014, has compiled a death toll of his own, noting that the war in Iraq did not begin in 2003.
“The war on Iraq did not begin in 2003, but in 1991 with the first Gulf War, which was followed by the UN sanctions regime.” Ahmed writes.
Noting that the U.N. has found these draconian sanctions were responsible for the deaths of approximately 1.7 million civilians (between 500,000 and 600,000 of whom were children), Ahmed found that from 1990 to the present day, the U.S. has realistically killed close to three million Iraqi civilians.
All in all, Ahmed finds that the death toll from the U.S.-led “War on Terror” since 1990 is close to four million – the majority of whom would undoubtedly be Muslims given Iraq, Pakistan, and Afghanistan are majority Muslim nations.
Any criticism of Islam and its 1.6 billion adherents that ignores this devastating recent history is a dangerous and illusory waste of time.
Last year, leaked ISIS documents revealed that its members had an extremely poor understanding of Islam. This was further confirmed by Lydia Wilson of The Nation, who interviewed captured ISIS fighters herself:
“Why did he [an ISIS fighter] do all these things? Many assume that these fighters are motivated by a belief in the Islamic State, a caliphate ruled by a caliph with the traditional title Emir al-Muminiin, ‘Commander of the faithful,’ a role currently held by Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi; that fighters all over the world are flocking to the area for a chance to fight for this dream. But this just doesn’t hold for the prisoners we are interviewing. They are woefully ignorant about Islam and have difficulty answering questions about Sharia law, militant jihad, and the caliphate.” [emphasis added]
According to Wilson’s interviews with ISIS fighters, one main reason for their radicalization was not their religion, but George W. Bush’s invasion of Iraq.
“‘The Americans came,’ [one fighter] said. ‘They took away Saddam, but they also took away our security. I didn’t like Saddam, we were starving then, but at least we didn’t have war. When you came here, the civil war started.’”
If a few ragtag Muslims committing heinous acts of terrorism on Western soil are enough to radicalize Westerners to form resistant groups, surely one can understand the sheer horror and plight of a group of people who have been killed by the millions in the past two or three decades over nothing more than a geopolitical chess game of oil, money, and natural gas.

Mexico: mensenrechten- en milieuactivist Isidro Baldenegro vermoord……..

Mensen het is alweer zover, BBC World Service meldde gisteren in het radionieuws van 1.00 u. (CET) dat er alweer een mensenrechtenactivist, te weten Isidro Baldenegro, werd vermoord in Latijns Amerika…… .Isidro Baldenegro was net terug uit ballingschap, hij moest eerder voor zijn leven Mexico ontvluchten……. Daar hij de strijd tegen onrecht te belangrijk vond en keerde Baldenegro terug naar Mexico, met de meer dan laffe en schandelijke moord op deze gelauwerde activist tot gevolg…….

Een bijzonder triest begin van het nieuwe jaar……. Vorig jaar werden er in een aantal Latijns-Amerikaanse landen mensenrechten- en/of milieuactivisten (meestal waren de slachtoffers beide) vermoord, zoals in Honduras, Guatemala en Brazilië…….. Alleen in Mexico werden in de periode van 2010 t/m 2015 ‘maar liefst’ 33 van deze activisten vermoord……

In Argentinië pakt men het onder de fascistisch/neoliberale regering anders aan, men klaagt die activisten ‘gewoon’ aan, als ze zich verzetten tegen de grote landeigenaren en de inhumane overheid….. Landeigenaren, vaak behorend tot de vriendenkring van de Zorreguieta’s (dus ook uw pampakoningin), die naar willekeur handelen en de oorspronkelijke bevolking met behulp van politie en bewapende bendes als derderangs burgers behandelen…. En pampakoningin Maxima maar micro-kredieten steunen in ontwikkelingslanden, zodat arme sodemieters zich tot de nek in de schulden steken, niet zelden reden tot suïcide na faillissement….*

‘Fijn ook’, dat deze moorden zo in de belangstelling staan bij PvdA opperknurft Koenders, oh wacht: hij is natuurlijk weer met ‘doodstille diplomatie’ bezig……… Datzelfde, geen aandacht, geldt trouwens ook voor de Nederlandse media, ik kon gisteren over dit onderwerp geen artikel vinden………… Ach eigenlijk wel ‘logisch’, daar in 99 van de 100 gevallen de CIA zich ook met deze zaken bemoeit en zoals u weet: alles wat de VS flikt in het buitenland is heilig voor de westerse politiek en de reguliere media……….

Murder of Mexican activist triggers calls for better protection of campaigners

BOGOTA (Thomson Reuters Foundation) – A prominent environmentalist in Mexico was shot dead over the weekend, highlighting the dangers facing activists in Latin America and prompting calls for better protection of land and indigenous rights campaigners.

Isidro Baldenegro, an environmental rights activist, was killed by gunmen on Sunday in Mexico’s northern state of Chihuahua after having received death threats.

A community leader of Mexico’s indigenous Tarahumara people, Baldenegro was known for his fight against illegal logging in the country’s Sierra Madre mountain region.

For years he led non-violent protests against logging projects, including sit-ins and human blockades.

“The killing of Isidro Baldenegro Lopez is a tragic illustration of the many dangers faced by those who dedicate their lives to defend human rights in Latin America, one of the most dangerous regions in the work for activists,” said Erika Guevara-Rosas, Americas director at Amnesty International, in a statement on Wednesday.

“It is imperative that Mexico investigates this crime and that all governments across the Americas take more action to promote and protect the very important work human rights activists do with so much courage.”

Baldenegro, one of Mexico’s most prominent environmentalists, was awarded the prestigious Goldman Environmental Prize in 2005 for his work against deforestation.

He is the second recipient of the prize, given to grassroots environmental activists, to be murdered in less than a year.

Honduran environmental campaigner Berta Caceres, who won the Goldman Prize in 2015 for her battle against construction of a dam that threatened to displace indigenous people, was killed in March 2016.

Campaign group Global Witness also urged Mexico to make sure Baldenegro’s killers are brought to justice.

“This crime must not be met with impunity, like the majority of these killings are,” Ben Leather, a campaigner for Global Witness, said in a statement, also on Wednesday.

“The Mexican authorities must act with conviction, prosecuting those responsible for Isidro’s murder and protecting his family and colleagues.”

At least 33 right defenders were killed in Mexico from 2010 to 2015, according to a 2016 report by Global Witness.

Baldenegro’s murder came at the start of a nine-day mission by United Nations Special Rapporteur on human rights defenders Michel Forst to Mexico.

Making his first visit to Mexico, Forst planned to assess the situation facing the country’s human rights defenders and measures Mexican authorities are taking to protect activists.

“I’m deeply outraged by the murder of Isidro Baldenegro,” Forst wrote on Twitter on Wednesday.

Mexico’s state prosecutor’s office has started an investigation into Baldenegro’s murder.

One gunman, who reportedly fled the crime scene, has been identified but not detained, according to local media.
