Massamoord in Peru’s Ayacucho na de door de VS georganiseerde coup tegen de democratisch gekozen president Castillo

De VS, het land dat zich voordoet als de grote strijder voor democratie, heeft er alweer voor gezorgd dat een democratisch gekozen president, te weten: Pedro Castillo van Peru, is afgezet en gevangengezet en dat alleen omdat deze president links is….. Ook hier heeft men de door de VS uitgewerkte leugen gebruikt als zou Castillo corrupt zijn*, terwijl juist hij zich heeft ingezet tegen de algehele corruptie van de welgestelden, hun bedrijven en de grote bedrijven uit de VS die in het land werkzaam zijn…. Castillo is socialist en dat is dan ook de reden dat de VS hem van het toneel wilde verwijderen, zoals de VS dat al zo vaak heeft geflikt in Latijns-Amerika, waarbij de VS verantwoordelijk moet worden gesteld voor honderdduizenden doden, ofwel moorden…….

Ongelofelijk dan ook dat de reguliere westerse media, inclusief die in ons land, keer op keer de leugens van de VS blijven herhalen. Deze media die zogenaamd onafhankelijk zijn kunnen eenvoudig uitzoeken hoe de VS vork keer op keer in de steel steekt, maar doen dat bewust niet, nee men likt liever de smerige aars van de VS als de grote verdediger van de democratie, terwijl er van democratie geen sprake is in de VS, iets dat diezelfde media ook bijzonder makkelijk kunnen aantonen……

Het grootste deel van het Peruaanse volk heeft voor Castillo gekozen en gingen dan ook massaal de straat op na het afzetten van hun president op 7 december 2022, niet alleen massademonstraties maar ook een landelijke staking en mobilisatie tot actievoeren hebben het land platgelegd.

Dit heeft geleid tot massamoorden op de demonstranten, stakers en actievoerders, gepleegd door politie en leger…….

Op 15 december jl. heeft het leger van Peru in de buitenwijken van Ayacucho een bloedbad aangericht onder de mensen die zich tegen de coup hadden gekeerd…. Die dag begon met studenten, winkeliers, straatventers, boerenarbeiders en activisten die zich in het centrum van de stad verzamelden om te demonstreren tegen de coup die hun president ten val bracht. Men trok op naar het vliegveld van Ayacucho. Eenzelfde mobilisatie was te zien in andere Peruaanse steden.

Toen de demonstranten het vliegveld van Ayacucho naderden werd het vuur op hen geopend, ook schoot men direct traangasgranaten af op de demonstranten (traangas wordt internationaal gezien als chemisch wapen!!)…..Echter het meest dodelijk waren de schutters die vanuit de helikopters op de demonstranten schoten, ondanks dat men op de vlucht sloeg werden 10 van hen vermoord, waaronder de jongste 15 jaar oud was (en uiteraard werd een groot aantal van hen [zwaar-] gewond…..)……

Reuters meldde op 27 december hoe één van de vermoorden in Ayacucho, de 51 jaar oude Edgar Prado werd vermoord toen hij een neergeschoten demonstrant probeerde te helpen, wat nog eens aangeeft hoe smerig het geweld was dat tegen de demonstranten werd gebruikt, ofwel het optreden van politie en leger was niets anders dan grootschalige staatsterreur……

Internationaal zou het brutale en barbaarse geweld tegen de demonstranten zijn veroordeeld (hier kom ik straks op terug). Uiteraard was er veel meer aandacht in de meer links geregeerde landen van Latijns-Amerika en een delegatie van de Inter Amerikaanse Commissie van Mensenrechten (Inter-American Commission on Human Rights >> IACHR) bezocht het land van 20 tot 22 december, waarbij getuigenissen over het gewelddadig optreden van de Peruaanse politie en leger werden opgetekend uit de mond van getuigen. De commissie sprak verder met de nabestaanden van de in totaal 28 door politie en leger vermoordde mensen….

Op 22 december vertrok de commissie naar Ayacucho, waar men sprak met een dozijn familie leden en getuigen zoals: inwoners van de stad, organisatoren van de demonstratie (op 15 december) en een paar journalisten, waaronder Zoe Alexandra, de schrijver van het hieronder opgenomen artikel dat eerder werd gepubliceerd op CounterPunch. In het artikel kan je verder lezen over een aantal getuigenissen en wordt nog eens gewezen op de bloedige onderdrukking van de grote onderlaag (het grootste deel bestaand uit de oorspronkelijke bewoners) in Peru…..

Alexandra noemt de VS niet in haar artikel maar deze coup lijkt precies op de coup tegen de Boliviaanse president Evo Morales, ook die coup werd georganiseerd en geregisseerd door de VS en ook Morales werd als Castillo beschuldigd van corruptie en verkiezingsfraude, waarvan hij later werd vrijgesproken…… Het is voor 100% zeker dat de VS ook hier (als in veel meer Latijns-Amerikaanse landen*) met haar bloedige vieze poten de democratie ten grave heeft gedragen, terwijl deze grootste terreurentiteit ter wereld zogenaamd staat voor democratie, die zelfs in haar eigen land niet meer bestaat…..

Zoals eerder gezegd >> internationaal zou het geweld in Peru zijn veroordeeld, echter hier, in Duitsland, België en Groot-Brittannië was er amper iets te merken van een internationale veroordeling, nee men heeft het veel te druk om de laatste leugens over het Russische optreden in Oekraïne te veroordelen, zoals men ook blind is voor de genocides die worden uitgevoerd op de bevolking van Jemen en die op de Palestijnen….. De laatste 2 geven aan hoe ongelofelijk hypocriet men is in het westen, immers de genocide die Saoedi-Arabië, andere Golfstaten en Egypte, plus militaire hulp van de VS, GB en Frankrijk, uitvoeren op de sjiitische bevolking van Jemen en die Israël uitvoert op de Palestijnen zijn qua zwaar psychopathisch en barbaars geweld niet te vergelijken met wat Rusland in Oekraïne heeft gedaan, sterker nog: in Oekraïne heeft de laatste toegestane en door de Zelensky kliek gecontroleerde tv zender zelfs opgeroepen om elke etnische Rus en diens kinderen te vermoorden, ofwel een meer duidelijke oproep tot genocide is niet te bedenken!!

Het voorgaande na de massamoorden op etnische Russen die volgde op de in 2014 door de VS georganiseerde, geregisseerde en gefinancierde opstand en daarop volgende coup tegen de democratisch gekozen Oekraïense president Janoekovytsj…. Dit plus de daarna 8 jaar lang durende bombardementen op de afgescheiden staatjes Luhansk en Donetsk, die als De Krim voor het overgrote deel zijn bevolkt met etnische Russen >> is één van de belangrijkste redenen tot het ingrijpen van Rusland in Oekraïne…..** Met die bombardementen door het nazi-leger (wat niemand kan ontkennen!!) zijn volgens de VN, meer dan 14.000 mensen vermoord en zijn meer dan 1 miljoen etnische Russen op de vlucht geslagen…. Echter zoals hierboven al gesteld over de gebeurtenissen in Peru is daar in het westen amper of geen belangstelling voor…..

Het westen heeft geen belangstelling voor de terreur van de VS, zoals de minstens 4 illegale oorlogen die de VS deze eeuw is begonnen, allen gebaseerd op grove leugens en waarbij meer dan 5 miljoen mensen werden vermoord, sterker nog andere westerse staten die lid zijn van de NAVO, doen vrolijk mee aan die schandelijke oorlogen en dan durven diezelfde landen met VS president en oorlogsmisdadiger Joe Biden aan de kop een grote bek te hebben over het ingrijpen van Rusland in Oekraïne, terwijl die landen volledig verantwoordelijk zijn voor dat Russische ingrijpen……** Daarbij stellen deze landen dat men de democratie in Oekraïne moet verdedigen, terwijl er geen geen sprake is van democratie in Oekraïne……

Tot slot nog even dit: in Brazilië vonden gisteren bestormingen plaats van regeringsgebouwen en het presidentiële paleis in de hoofdstad Brasilia. Men wil Lula da Silva afzetten en de zwaar corrupte fascist Bolsonaro opnieuw in het zadel hijsen…. Deze ploert is voor de inauguratie van Lula gevlucht naar Florida, daar hij op zeker was gearresteerd na die inauguratie vanwege zijn zwaar corrupte handelen…… Op zeker dat de VS ook hier weer bezig is met haar smerige in bloed gedrenkte tentakels, zoals ook Lula eerder met de VS leugen de verkiezingen tot president niet kon voortzetten vanwege de door de VS gefabriceerde leugen dat hij corrupt zou zijn* en waarvoor hij werd veroordeeld tot een onvoorwaardelijke gevangenisstraf, iets waarvoor hij vorig jaar werd vrijgesproken….

Maar ja Lula is links en dat vindt men in Washington een heel smerig woord, terwijl de VS zelf NB de grootste terreurentiteit ter wereld is >> alleen deze eeuw al verantwoordelijk voor meer dan 5 miljoen moorden in illegale oorlogen….. Joe Biden had het gore lef om deze bestorming in Brasilia van regeringsgebouwen en het presidentiële paleis te veroordelen, terwijl zijn CIA de grote verantwoordelijke is voor de onlusten in Brazilië, wat al begon tijdens de verkiezingen en dat werd verhevigd na dat Lula de verkiezingen won…… Niet voor niets ook dat Bolsonaro naar de VS vluchtte, immers daar heeft hij in de politiek een heel leger aan politici die achter hem staan, die hem willen beschermen en die hem het liefst weer als president hadden gezien……

Naast de CIA zijn er ook een groot aantal protestantse evangelisten in Brazilië die intussen een grote aanhang hebben en ook deze ploerten demoniseren van de kansel alles wat naar links ruikt….. (vandaar ook de relatief grote aanhang voor de psychopathische fascist Bolsonaro…..)

‘They Shot Them Down Like Animals’: Massacre at Peru’s Ayacucho

On December 15, 2022, while helicopters flew overhead, members of Peru’s national army shot down civilians with live bullets in the outskirts of the city of Ayacucho. This action was in response to a national strike and mobilization to protest the coup d’état that deposed President Pedro Castillo on December 7.

On December 15, hundreds of university students, shopkeepers, street vendors, agricultural workers, and activists gathered at the center of Ayacucho to express their discontent over the removal of Castillo and continued their mobilization toward the airport. Similar action was witnessed in several other cities across the southern Andean region of the country.

As protesters approached the airport, members of the armed forces opened fire and shot tear gas canisters directly at them. The firing by the army from the helicopters proved to be the most lethal. As the hundreds of unarmed people ran for their lives, the shooting continued.

Ten people were killed as a result of this violence inflicted by the army, and dozens more were injured, according to official numbers provided by the ombudsman’s office. At least six people are still fighting for their lives in hospitals in Peru’s capital Lima and in Ayacucho. Autopsies of 10 of those who died in Ayacucho show that six of the victims died from gunshot wounds to the chest. The youngest was just 15 years old.

On December 27, Reuters reported how one of these fatal victims in Ayacucho, 51-year-old Edgar Prado, was shot and killed while attempting to help someone else who had been shot down during the protests.

The exceedingly violent response of the security forces to the anti-coup protests across Peru was widely condemned. A delegation of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) visited the country from December 20 to 22 to receive testimonies from local human rights organizations and victims about the violent repression suffered by protesters and also spoke to families of the 28 fatal victims. The delegation traveled to Ayacucho on December 22.

More than a dozen other family members, Ayacucho inhabitants, organizers, and a couple of independent journalists, including myself, waited on the sidewalk of one of the city’s narrow and colorful streets as the meeting was underway. As people came and went, much of the events and tragedies of December 15 were recounted.

The Massacre

“They won’t show you this on the news here,” Carmen (name changed) told me as she showed me a video on her phone of a young boy with blood all over his shirt being dragged to safety by fellow protesters. “That’s her nephew,” she said, pointing to a woman sitting on the ground.

Pedro Huamani, a 70-year-old man who is a member of the Front in Defense of the People of Ayacucho (FREDEPA), was accompanying the victims waiting outside the IACHR meeting. “We have suffered a terrible loss,” he told me, “I was present that day in a peaceful march toward the airport.”

“When they began to shoot tear gas grenades and bullets at us, I started to choke, I almost died there,” Huamani said. “I escaped and went down to the cemetery, but it was the same, we were trying to enter and they started to shoot at us from behind. Helicopters were flying overhead and from there they shot tear gas grenades at us, trying to kill us.”

Carmen brought over some of her friends and one of them, who was wearing a gray sweatsuit, told me, “We all live near the airport, and saw everything happen. You should’ve seen how they shot them down like animals. We tried to help some of the injured, but it was hard.”

The massacre in Ayacucho, as well as the violent repression across the country, has only intensified people’s demand that Dina Boluarte step down. Boluarte was sworn in on December 7 immediately following the coup against Castillo. In interviews and public addresses, she has justified the use of force by police against protesters calling their actions as acts of “terrorism” and “vandalism.”

Huamani, while shaking and holding back tears, said: “She is a murderous president and in Huamanga, we do not want her, nor do we recognize her as president because this woman ordered the police and the army to shoot at us Peruvians. And these bullets, these weapons, are really bought by us, not by the army, nor the soldiers, but by the people. And for them to kill us is really horrible.”

The anger felt by Ayacucho residents is also linked to the historical undermining of Peruvian democracy and the economic exclusion suffered by the regions outside of Lima. Huamani explained: “They took out our president [Castillo] so this is not a democracy. We are not a democracy, we are in [state of] war, but not just in Ayacucho and Huamanga, but also in Arequipa, Apurímac, Cusco. In these regions, we are suffering from poverty, we can no longer survive, we are dying of hunger… and these right wingers want to make us their slaves, but we won’t permit this because we are responding and resisting.”

Old Wounds Ripped Open

December 15 was not the first time civilians in Ayacucho were massacred by the Peruvian armed forces. Many who were present on December 15 said that the warlike treatment received by the peaceful protesters was reminiscent of the days of the two-decades-long internal armed conflict that Peruvians suffered through more than 20 years ago.

“They still treat us as if we were all terrorists,” a family member of one of the victims of the protests pointed out.

As part of the state’s campaign against the guerrilla insurgency, it tortured, detained, disappeared, and murdered tens of thousands of innocent peasants and Indigenous people, accusing them of supporting or being part of the insurgency.

The population of Ayacucho was one of the hardest hit. According to reports by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, which was set up to look into the human rights violations, of the estimated 69,280 fatal victims of the internal armed conflict in Peru from 1980-2000, 26,000 were killed or disappeared by state actors or insurgent groups in Ayacucho. Thousands of people that fled their towns for the city of Ayacucho during the conflict continue to search for their loved ones and demand justice.

One of them is Paula Aguilar Yucra, who I met outside the IACHR meeting. Like more than 60 percent of people in Ayacucho, Indigenous Quechua is her first language. The 63-year-old is a member of the Ayacucho-based National Association of Relatives of Kidnapped, Detained and Disappeared of Peru (ANFASEP). She fled her rural community in Usmay for Ayacucho in 1984 after her mother was killed and her brother was taken by soldiers and never seen again.

Nearly 40 years later, she mourns again. Her grandson, 20-year-old José Luis Aguilar Yucra, father of a two-year-old boy, was killed on December 15 by a bullet to the head as he attempted to make his way home from work.

In a vigil held on the afternoon of December 22, Paula stood tall with the other members of ANFASEP and held a sign reading: “Fighting today does not mean dying tomorrow.”

Het grootste en meest beruchte voorbeeld van VS inmenging blijft de staatsgreep tegen de democratisch gekozen president van Chili, Salvador Allende op 11 september 1973 ( de eerste 9/11….) Dit kostte aan meer dan 30.000 mensen het leven, vermoord nadat ze werden gemarteld en velen van hen werden verkracht……. De bemoeienissen tegen de linkse regering van Nicaragua in de 80er jaren van de vorige eeuw, waarbij de VS zelfs mijnen in de havens van dat land heeft gelegd, leidde er toe dat de VS als eerste land werd veroordeeld wegens terrorisme….. Wat al deze mensen, tegen wie de VS tekeer is gegaan en nog gaat, gemeen hadden en hebben, is het feit dat ze door de VS worden gezien als socialisten dan wel communisten….. ** Rusland heeft al een paar decennia met zich laten sollen door de VS en de meeste andere westerse staten (die de smerige aars van Washington met grote graagte likken), echter je kan een wereldkernwapenmacht lang tarten maar uiteindelijk zal zo’n macht ingrijpen…… De oorlog in Oekraïne is dan ook volledig te danken aan de machinaties van Washington en haar slaafse NAVO-partners en dat gaat nog heel wat verder dan alleen de door de VS georganiseerde, geregisseerde en gefinancierde coup van 2014 tegen de democratisch gekozen regering Janoekovytsj…… Terwijl het agressieve terreurbondgenootschap NAVO bij oorlogshandelingen altijd onder opperbevel staat van de VS, ofwel de NAVO fungeert als een extra terreurleger van de VS…… De volgende opsomming bevat de redenen voor de Russische inval in Oekraïne, die ik overnam uit het bericht: ‘Ook GB wordt geregeerd door misdadigers en grote bedrijven die lak hebben aan vrede en de volksgezondheid‘

  • Ten tweede: door de opstand en staatsgreep die de VS voor en tijdens 2014 bewezen in Oekraïne heeft georganiseerd, geregisseerd en gefinancierd (met 5 miljard dollar). Men hoopte dat Rusland daarop De Krim zou annexeren, maar daar stak de bevolking van dat schiereiland een dikke stok voor door een referendum te organiseren voor aansluiting bij Rusland, men was tegen de staatsgreep tegen de door hen democratisch gekozen president Janoekovytsj en wenste niet onder de corrupte neonazi-juntaleider Porosjenko te leven (die door de VS werd geparachuteerd als ‘president’ van Oekraïne)….. Het door internationale waarnemers als eerlijk en goed beoordeelde referendum werd door 80% van de bevolking gesteund, een bevolking bestaande uit de oorspronkelijke bevolking van De Krim, etnische Russen en Oekraïners!!! (hetzelfde geldt voor de zich van Oekraïne afgescheiden staatjes Luhansk en Donetsk, die daarna 8 jaar lang werden gebombardeerd door nazi-bataljons van het Oekraïense leger….)
  • Ten derde: wat volgt uit het vorige punt: de 8 jaar lang durende bombardementen op de burgers van de volks republieken Luhansk en Donetsk, waarbij meer dan 14.000 mensen omkwamen (volgens de VN, eerder hield ik 13.000 moorden aan) ofwel deze werden vermoord, waaronder veel etnische Russen….. Voor de Russische inval in Oekraïne heeft de regering Zelensky haar nazi-troepen opdracht gegeven om de aanvallen op de staatjes Luhansk en Donetsk te verhevigen, ofwel een grote troepenopbouw met zware wapens >> daar lulde men niet over in het westen, nee dat Rusland daarop meer troepen naar haar grens met Oekraïne stuurde leidde tot felle (uiterst hypocriete) reacties in het westen…… Hier moet nog aan worden toegevoegd dat Oekraïne na de coup van 20-14 een groot aantal etnische Russen heeft vermoord, het enige nog toegestane tv station, een staatszender, riep zelfs op tot een genocide op etnische Russen en hun kinderen….. ‘Rutte gaat Zelensky niet aanspreken op oproep tot genocide: ‘Dit is gewoon een misdrijf!’‘ (!!!!) (een artikel van Nine For News) Op de enige Oekraïense tv zender die nog is toegestaan heeft men opgeroepen elke Rus te vermoorden, zelfs de kinderen, ofwel een oproep om een genocide uit te voeren op de etnische Russen in Oekraïne, die daar een grote minderheid vormen….. Rutte stelt niet te weten of dit waar is, terwijl hij dat zo kan laten uitzoeken, maar laat dat dus achterwege en weigert dus om Zelensky daarop aan te spreken……. En zie wat dat betreft:‘Oekraïne: Facebook en Instagram staan oproepen toe tot moord op Russen‘ (!!!!) Genocide hoort niet thuis in een democratie om het maar zachtjes uit te drukken……..
  • Ten vierde: door de al jarenlang bijna het jaarrond durende militaire oefeningen van de VS en de rest van de NAVO langs de Russische westgrens (waar zelfs op het binnenvallen van Russisch grondgebied werd en wordt geoefend)……
  • Ten vijfde: de militaire oefeningen die de NAVO laatste jaren heeft gehouden in Oekraïne uiteraard met het Oekraïense nazi-leger, terwijl men de wereld wijs probeert te maken dat Oekraïne niet zou en zal toetreden tot de NAVO…… ha! ha! ha! ha! ha!

Hypocriete demonisering van Ilhan Omar, lid VS Huis van Afgevaardigden: ze zou de VS hebben vergeleken met Hamas

CounterPunch kwam gisteren met een artikel over de demonisering van Ilhan Omar, lid van het VS Huis van Afgevaardigden. Ilhan Omar stelde dat alle misdaden tegen de menselijkheid gelijk moeten worden behandeld wat betreft verantwoordelijkheid en gerechtigheid. (het is daarvoor inderdaad de hoogste tijd, wat zeg ik: we zijn wat dat betreft al zwaar overtijd….*) Daarbij stelde ze dat we ondenkbare wreedheden hebben gezien die zijn gepleegd door de VS, Hamas, Israël, Afghanistan en de Taliban……

Dit schoot zowel een groot deel van de Democraten (de partij van Omar) als de Republikeinen in het verkeerde keelgat en er barstte een storm van verontwaardiging los over haar woorden. Heel smerig stelde men dat Omar de VS vergelijkt met Hamas….. ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Hamas mocht willen dat het zoveel terreur kon uitoefenen als de VS, dan was het snel afgelopen met de staat Israël!! Ofwel de verontwaardiging is niet alleen hypocriet, maar ook ongelofelijk dom, immers vanaf het moment dat de VS de atoombom onnodig losliet op respectievelijk Hiroshima en Nagasaki heeft deze terreurstaat meer dan 25 miljoen mensen vermoord: -in illegale oorlogen, -door het organiseren van opstanden in derde landen, -door het organiseren van staatsgrepen in landen die niet gehoorzaam aan de hand van de VS liepen, zoals Guatemala, Indonesië, Chili, Honduras, Oekraïne en ga nog maar even door, -het vermoorden van verdachten middels drones, waarbij meer dan 90% van de slachtoffers niet eens werd verdacht en -het opleggen van illegale sancties (illegaal: niet gesteund door de VN) aan ongehoorzame landen, die bijvoorbeeld in Venezuela aan 50.000 mensen het leven heeft gekost….. Vergeleken met het voorgaande is Hamas een padvindersclub……

‘Maar goed’, in de VS tilt men zwaar aan de uitlatingen van Omar, echter op volkomen valse gronden, immers Omar vergeleek met haar uitspraak de VS niet met Hamas, maar noemde landen en organisaties die zich schuldig maken aan misdaden tegen de menselijkheid (jammer trouwens dat Omar Saoedi-Arabië niet noemde, het land dat NB met hulp van de VS een genocide uitvoert op de sjiieten in Jemen….) Voorts moet je dan ook nog kijken naar waarom organisaties als de Taliban en Hamas geweld uitoefenen >> het is immers de taak van elke soevereine natie om zich te verzetten tegen bezetting van haar land tegen buitenlandse indringers en daar is wat betreft Afghanistan en Palestina wel degelijk sprake van….. Anders gezegd of beter gevraagd: was het verzet in Nederland tegen de nazi-Duitse bezetter tijdens WOII terreur of gelegitimeerd verzet?? Dit voorbeeld is des te belangrijker als het gaat om de zogenaamde Politionele Acties van Nederland in Indonesië (een ordinaire koloniale oorlog), uiteraard was Nederland voor de gewone Indonesiërs een bezetter en dan durft men nog steeds te spreken over door Indonesiërs gepleegde oorlogsmisdaden tegen Nederlandse militairen en burgers, terwijl deze mensen als Nederlanders tijdens WOII de bezetter hebben aangevallen……..

Hypocrisie? Zo oud als de mensheid, al maken de ‘moderne machthebbers’ er veel meer werk van!!

No Comparison: Thoughtcrime Reflections on the Latest Imperial Smackdown of the Nation’s Best Congressperson

United States political culture is an Orwellian nightmare. Two plus two equals five in the propaganda spectacle that passes for “democratic” news and debate here.

Take the latest bipartisan establishment disciplining of Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), the U.S. House’s most courageous and eloquent member, for saying this: “We must have the same level of accountability and justice for all victims of crimes against humanity. We have seen unthinkable atrocities committed by the U.S., Hamas, Israel, Afghanistan, and the Taliban.”

Omar dared, in the words of The New York Times, “to compare Israel and the United States to Hamas and the Taliban.”

But did she? Look at these two sentences: “There’s nothing quite as exciting for baseball fans as a no-hitter. We have this season seen no-hitters thrown by pitchers with the Chicago White Sox, the San Diego Padres, the Detroit Tigers, the New York Yankees, the Baltimore Orioles, and the Cincinnati Reds.”

Does this statement compare the White Sox with the Red Sox, the Padres, the Tigers, the Yankees, the Orioles, and the Reds? No, it makes an assertion about baseball no-hitters and then includes six teams in a list of Major League Baseball franchises with a pitcher who threw a no-hitter this year. For all anyone knows from these 41 words, each one of these teams is wildly different from the others.

Thoughtcrime 1: Serious Comparison

But, okay, let’s compare. Since Omar’s critics charge comparison, let’s take comparison seriously. One reason not to make “false equivalencies” between the Taliban (or Hamas) and the United States is that the former has never been remotely in the latter’s ballpark when it comes to committing crimes against humanity. Between direct U.S. slaughter and the U.S. sponsorship, funding, and equipping of mass slaughter by its client regimes, prominently including the racist apartheid state of Israel (recipient of $146 billion in U.S. military and economic funding in FY 2020, helping make Israel what the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace calls “the largest cumulative recipient of U.S. assistance since World War II”), Washington has murdered tens of millions of world citizens since August of 1945, when it criminally and unnecessarily atom-bombed two major Japanese cities. For an introduction to this criminal record, which is hiding in plain sight for those willing to look, Google up the following: “No Gun Ri,” “My Lai,” “many My Lais,” “Operation Tiger Force,” “Abu Ghraib,” “Nissour Square,” “Fallujah,” “Guantanamo,” “extraordinary rendition,” the “Highway of Death,” and “Bola Boluk.” Better yet, read my February 2018 Truthdig essay “The World Will Not Mourn the Decline of U.S. Hegemony” for a soul-numbing account of this unmatched record of mass-murderous terror inflicted both directly (as in Korea during the early 1950s, in Southeast Asia between 1962 and 1975, in Iraq in 1991 and 2003-2011/2017) and indirectly (as in Indonesia, Latin America, Palestine, Yemen and in countless nations and regions around the world).

Here are some selections from that essay…

It is difficult, sometimes, to wrap one’s mind around the extent of the savagery Uncle Sam has unleashed on the world during the last and the present century. In the early 1950s, for example, the Harry Truman administration responded to an early challenge to U.S. power in Northern Korea with a practically genocidal three-year bombing campaign that was described in soul-numbing terms by the Washington Post years ago:

“The bombing was long, leisurely and merciless, even by the assessment of America’s own leaders. ‘Over a period of three years or so, we killed off—what—20 percent of the population,’ Air Force Gen. Curtis LeMay, head of the Strategic Air Command during the Korean War, told the Office of Air Force History in 1984. Dean Rusk, a supporter of the war and later Secretary of State, said the United States bombed ‘everything that moved in North Korea, every brick standing on top of another.’ After running low on urban targets, U.S. bombers destroyed hydroelectric and irrigation dams in the later stages of the war, flooding farmland and destroying crops … The U.S. dropped 635,000 tons of explosives on North Korea, including 32,557 tons of napalm, an incendiary liquid that can clear forested areas and cause devastating burns to human skin.”

This ferocious bombardment, which killed 2 million or more civilians, began five years after Truman arch-criminally and unnecessarily ordered the atom-bombing of hundreds of thousands of civilians in Hiroshima and Nagasaki to warn the Soviet Union to stay out of Japan and Western Europe.

The savagery of U.S. foreign policy in the post-WWII era did not always require direct U.S. military intervention. Take Indonesia and Chile, for two examples from the “Golden Age” height of the “American Century.” In Indonesia, the U.S.-backed dictator Suharto killed millions of his subjects, targeting communist sympathizers, ethnic Chinese, and alleged leftists. A senior CIA operations officer in the 1960s later described Suharto’s 1965-66 U.S.-assisted coup as “the model operation” for the U.S.-backed coup that eliminated the democratically elected president of Chile, Salvador Allende, seven years later. “The CIA forged a document purporting to reveal a leftist plot to murder Chilean military leaders,” the officer wrote, “[just like] what happened in Indonesia in 1965.” As John Pilger noted 13 years ago, “the U.S. embassy in Jakarta supplied Suharto with a ‘zap list’ of Indonesian Communist party members and crossed off the names when they were killed or captured. … The deal was that Indonesia under Suharto would offer up what Richard Nixon had called ‘the richest hoard of natural resources, the greatest prize in south-east Asia.’” According to the prolific and brilliant New Left historian Gabriel Kolko, “No single American action in the period after 1945,” wrote the historian Gabriel Kolko, “was as bloodthirsty as its role in Indonesia.”

Two years and three months after the U.S-sponsored 1973 Chilean coup, Suharto received a green light from the Henry Kissinger and Gerald Ford White House to invade the small island nation of East Timor. With Washington’s approval and backing, Indonesia carried out genocidal massacres and mass rapes and killed at least 100,000 of the island’s residents.

“To Henry Kissinger,” the human rights attorney Stanley L. Cohen noted five years ago, “the world, particularly Indochina, was very much a small chess game. Civilians were mere pawns ripe for sacrifice through hi-tech weaponry, including biological and chemical warfare, to enforce his worldview at any cost. Millions lost their lives to his cerebral game board” (emphasis added).

Among the countless episodes of mass-murderous U.S. savagery in the oil-rich Middle East over the last generation, few can match the barbarous and sadistic cruelty of the “Highway of Death,” where the “global policeman’s” forces massacred tens of thousands of surrendered Iraqi troops retreating from Kuwait on Feb. 26 and 27, 1991. Journalist Joyce Chediac testified that:

“U.S. planes trapped the long convoys by disabling vehicles in the front, and at the rear, and then pounded the resulting traffic jams for hours. ‘It was like shooting fish in a barrel,’ said one U.S. pilot. On the sixty miles of coastal highway, Iraqi military units sit in gruesome repose, scorched skeletons of vehicles and men alike, black and awful under the sun … for 60 miles every vehicle was strafed or bombed, every windshield is shattered, every tank is burned, every truck is riddled with shell fragments. No survivors are known or likely. … ‘Even in Vietnam I didn’t see anything like this. It’s pathetic,’ said Major Bob Nugent, an Army intelligence officer. … U.S. pilots took whatever bombs happened to be close to the flight deck, from cluster bombs to 500-pound bombs. … U.S. forces continued to drop bombs on the convoys until all humans were killed. So many jets swarmed over the inland road that it created an aerial traffic jam, and combat air controllers feared midair collisions. … The victims were not offering resistance. … [I]t was simply a one-sided massacre of tens of thousands of people who had no ability to fight back or defend.”

The victims’ crime was having been conscripted into an army controlled by a formerly U.S.-backed dictator perceived as a threat to U.S. control of Middle Eastern oil. President George H.W. Bush welcomed the so-called Persian Gulf War as an opportunity to demonstrate America’s unrivaled power and new freedom of action in the post-Cold War world, where the Soviet Union could no longer deter Washington. Bush heralded the “war” (really a one-sided imperial assault) as marking the end of the “Vietnam Syndrome,” the reigning political culture’s curious term for U.S. citizens’ reluctance to commit U.S. troops to murderous imperial mayhem. As Noam Chomsky observed in 1992, reflecting on U.S. efforts to maximize suffering in Vietnam by blocking economic and humanitarian assistance to the nation it had devastated: “No degree of cruelty is too great for Washington sadists.”

I could go on and on and on some more with terrible tales of unimaginable horror and mass death inflicted abroad by the U.S.-American war machine during my lifetime in Southeast Asia (the U.S. killed 3 to 5 million in Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos between 1962 and 1975), Iraq (the “world’s leading democracy” killed at least 1 million Iraqis in the last eight years of this century’s opening decade) and elsewhere.

Since Afghanistan’s Taliban is part of the Omar drama, it seems germane to mention a forgotten 2009 crime against Afghan humanity that then U.S. president Barack Obama tried to blame on the Taliban.

Within less than half a year of his inauguration, Obama’s depressingly long list of atrocities in the Muslim world would include the bombing of the Afghan village of Bola Boluk. Ninety-three of the dead villagers torn apart by U.S. explosives in Bola Boluk were children. “In a phone call played on a loudspeaker on Wednesday to outraged members of the Afghan Parliament,” the New York Times reported, “the governor of Farah Province … said that as many as 130 civilians had been killed.” According to one Afghan legislator and eyewitness, “the villagers bought two tractor-trailers full of pieces of human bodies to his office to prove the casualties that had occurred. Everyone at the governor’s cried, watching that shocking scene.”

The Obama administration refused to issue an apology or to acknowledge the “global policeman’s” responsibility. It initially blamed the carnage on – get this – “Taliban grenades.” (See Carlotta Gall and Taimoor Shah, “Civilian Deaths Imperil Support for Afghan War,” New York Times, May 6, 2009.)

(By telling and sickening contrast, Obama had just offered a full apology and fired a White House official because that official had scared New Yorkers with an ill-advised Air Force One photo-shoot flyover of Manhattan that reminded people of 9/11. The disparity was extraordinary: Frightening New Yorkers led to a full presidential apology and the discharge of a White House staffer. Killing more than 100 Afghan civilians did not require any apology but was falsely blamed on the Taliban.)

Reflecting on such atrocities the following December, an Afghan villager was moved to comment as follows: “Peace prize? He’s a killer. … Obama has only brought war to our country.” The man spoke from the village of Armal, where a crowd of 100 gathered around the bodies of 12 people, one family from a single home. The 12 were killed, witnesses reported, by U.S. Special Forces during a late-night raid.

(Obama was only warming up his “killer” powers. He would join with France and other NATO powers in the imperial decimation of Libya, helping kill more than 25,000 civilians and unleashing mass carnage in North Africa. The U.S.-led assault on Libya was a disaster for black Africans and sparked the biggest refugee crisis since World War II.)

The Taliban, which owes much of its origin to U.S. Cold War sponsorship of Islamo-terrorist forces on the former Soviet Union’s southern border, is a despicable terrorist outfit, God knows. There have long been fully credible reports of its vicious atrocities, including mass murder, torture, rape, and assassination. Still, it can’t hold a candle to Superpower (or even to Uncle Sam’s leading client state Israel[1]) when it comes to crippling and killing human beings.

Seat of world history’s most extensive empire, the U.S. has at least 800 military bases spread across more than 80 foreign countries and “troops or other military personnel in about 160 foreign countries and territories.” The U.S. accounts for more than 40 percent of the planet’s military spending and has more than 5,500 strategic nuclear weapons, enough to blow the world up 5 to 50 times over. Last year it increased its “defense” (military empire) spending, which was already three times higher than China’s, and nine times higher than Russia’s.

Comparing the Taliban and Hamas to such a massive military Empire is indeed truly absurd. Their crimes pale before those of world history’s most lethal Superpower. There’s no comparison.

Thoughtcrime 2: The U.S. is Not a Democracy

Now for a second U.S.-American thoughtcrime. As I suspect Rep. Omar knows very well (her political survival requires pretending not to), the United States is not a “democratic country.” It’s a capitalist plutocracy, a de facto bourgeois class dictatorship wherein majority progressive public policy opinion is close to irrelevant in comparison (there’s that word again) to the vastly superior power of concentrated wealth. If you are interested in how and why this is so, order and read my 2014 book They Rule: The 1% v. Democracy – a detailed analysis of how the U.S. ruling class rules (I argue that the commonly cited problem of plutocratic campaign finance is just one tip of a giant, democracy-freezing capitalist-imperialist iceberg) and why it matters. In the meantime, stop and think about all the programs and measures most U.S.-Americans support – Single Payer national health coverage as a human right, serious voter rights protections, serious progressive taxation, the restoration of union organizing rights, real gun control, a serious response to the climate catastrophe (which is merely the biggest issue of our or any time), and more (the list goes on) – that have zero chance of being implemented because of the corporate, financial, and imperial/military-industrial kill switch that is firmly attached to the U.S. system of supposedly democratic governance and mass consent-manufacture. U.S.-Americans don’t even directly elect the nation’s powerful chief executive (try explaining the preposterous undemocratic Electoral College system to someone from another country). The extremely powerful upper chamber of the U.S. Congress (the Senate) so vastly and absurdly overrepresents the nation’s most rural, white, and reactionary regions that it is now mathematically possible to put together a Trump-Republifascist Senate majority on the basis of states representing 17.6% of the nation’s population. (If liberal and diverse California had the same population-to-U.S. Senator ratio as super-white and right-wing Wyoming, it would have 136 U.S. Senators.) The Senate joins with the indirectly elected president to appoint absurdly powerful Supreme Court justices for life and now regularly cancels popular bills that manage to get past the badly gerrymandered lower chamber.

With all due respect, it is transparently false and even absurd to call the U.S. a “democratic country.” It would take an actual American revolution for it to become any such thing.

Venezuela is nog lang niet verslagen door de VS

James Patras heeft een artikel met de titel ‘Why Venezuela Has Not Been Defeated’ geschreven, gepubliceerd op Information Clearing House.
Patras betoogt dat zogenaamde deskundigen, analisten en politici al meer dan 5 jaar lang voorspellen dat het bewind Maduro binnen de kortste keren zou omvallen, echter daar zaten deze figuren keer op keer naast. Men vergeet dan ook dat Maduro een massale achterban heeft onder de arme bevolking die onder zijn bewind en dat van zijn (vermoorde) voorganger Chavez, het onnoemelijk veel beter hebben gekregen, bijvoorbeeld door de bouw van meer dan 1 miljoen huizen voor deze Venezolanen. Voorts zorgden Chavez en Maduro voor alfabetisering van de arme bevolking, het toegankelijk maken van het voortgezet onderwijs en de toegang tot medicijnen en medische hulp voor de arme bevolking
Deze arme Venezolanen hebben veel te verliezen en te vrezen als bijvoorbeeld de VS marionet en zwaar corrupte hufter Guaidó inderdaad door de VS in het ‘presidentszadel’ zou worden gewerkt. Duizenden arme Venezolanen zullen worden vermoord, zoals eerder in 1989 gebeurde bij grote protesten tegen de willekeur en het afknijpen van de arme bevolking door het destijds dictatoriale bewind….. Miljoenen Venezolanen leefden destijds in krottenwijken en werden uitgesloten van het voortgezet onderwijs…… De VS leverde de wapens en gaven advies aan politie, leger en politici hoe de protesten de kop in te drukken……

Voorts is het wel duidelijk dat de VS ook achter de protesten tegen het Maduro bewind zit, zoals de CIA al veel vaker heeft gedaan, in diverse andere Latijns-Amerikaanse landen, maar ook in Europa, Azië, Afrika en het Midden-Oosten…….
In zijn artikel noemt Patras alle pogingen van de VS om het Chavez dan wel Maduro bewind te laten vallen…… De laatste poging is het saboteren van de Venezolaanse elektriciteitsvoorziening en alle pogingen om middels grove leugens het bewind Maduro zwart te maken…. (er zijn er meer, zoals je in het artikel van Patras kan lezen) De VS is zelfs zover gegaan dat men daar liegt dat het Venezolaanse volk honger lijdt en gebrek heeft aan allerlei andere zaken, zoals medicijnen…… Al was de situatie vanaf ongeveer halverwege vorig jaar desastreus, een situatie NB door de VS gecreëerd met haar economische oorlog tegen Venezuela…….
De VS heeft de humanitaire hulp als propagandawapen gebruikt tegen Maduro, ‘jammer genoeg’ voor de VS hebben het Rode Kruis en de VN de Trump administratie beschuldigd van het politiseren van humanitaire hulp, daar deze 2 organen met hulp van het Venezolaanse leger al lang en breed humanitaire hulpgoederen hebben verspreid in het land…….
Deze politisering van de hulp nadat Venezuela weigerde nog langer humanitaire hulpgoederen uit de VS toe te laten op de vliegvelden van Venezuela, nadat tussen zo’n lading hulpgoederen op het vliegveld van Caracas wapens werden gevonden……. De VS poogde dit nog uit te buiten door de wereld een paar vrachtwagens met hulpgoederen te tonen, die de grens met Venezuela terecht niet over mochten…..
Daarna probeerde men de Venezolaanse douane en leger te beschuldigen van het in brand steken van die vrachtwagens, totdat videobeelden opdoken, waarin te zien was dat terroristen die werken voor de VS, de vrachtwagens in brand hebben gestoken…….
Lees het volgende artikel van Patras en geeft het door, dagelijks worden we door de reguliere media besodemieterd over de situatie in Venezuela en heeft het westen al miljarden dollars aan Venezolaanse tegoeden geconfisqueerd, waarbij de VS zelfs een kapitaal voor de aankoop van medicijnen heeft gestolen*, terwijl dit land om het hardst schreeuwt dat de Venezolanen geen medicijnen kunnen krijgen door ‘wanbeleid van het Maduro regime’ (terwijl de VS eerder haar farmaceuten onder druk heeft gezet niet dan wel zo min mogelijk medicijnen te leveren aan Venezuela…)
Let wel: in zijn lijst zet Patras een paar keer dat zaken als de sabotage van het elektriciteitsnet gebeurde van 2017 tot 2019, dit moet uiteraard tot en met 2019 zijn. Daarnaast is het zeker dat de VS (CIA) dit soort sabotages al eerder uitvoerde…… Ben het overigens niet eens met Patras wat hij tekortkomingen noemt van het Venezolaanse bewind, al kan ik wel meegaan in het verwijt dat Venezuela al lang niet meer afhankelijk had moeten zijn van zegge en schrijve 1 energiecentrale. Zijn verdere verwijten hebben m.i. van alles te maken met de illegale acties van de VS tegen het soevereine land Venezuela…….

Why Venezuela Has Not Been Defeated

April 15, 2019 “Information Clearing House“ – Over the past half decade, a small army of US analysts, politicians, academics and media pundits have been predicting the imminent fall, overthrow, defeat and replacement of the Venezuelan government. They have been wrong on all counts, in each and every attempt to foist a US client regime.
In fact, most of the US induced ‘regime changes’ has strengthened the support for the Chavez – Maduro government.

 When the US promoted a military-business coup in 2002, a million poor people surrounded the presidential palace, allied with the military loyalists, defeated the coup. The US lost their assets among their business and military clients, strengthened President Chavez, and radicalized his social program. Likewise, in 2002-03 when state oil company executives launched a lock-out.They were defeated, and hundreds of hardcore US supporters were fired and Washington lost a strategic ally.

 A more recent example is the overbearing role of President Trump’s bellicose proclamation that the US is prepared to invade Venezuela. His threat aroused massive popular resistance in defense of national independence ,even among discontented sectors of the population.

 Venezuela is in the vortex of a global struggle which pits the imperial aspirations of Washington against an embattled Venezuela intent on defending its own, and like countries, in support of national and social justice.

 We will proceed by discussing the multi-sided means and methods adopted by Washington to overthrow Venezuela’s government and replace it by a client regime.


We will then analyze and describe the reasons why Washington has failed, focusing on the positive strengths of the Venezuelan government.

We will conclude by discussing the lessons and weaknesses of the Venezuelan experience for other aspiring nationalist, popular and socialist governments.

US Opposition: What Venezuela Faces

The US assault on Venezuela’s state and society includes:

  • (a) A military coup in 2002
  • (b) A lockout by the executives of the Venezuelan oil company
  • (c) The exercise of global US power – organized political pressure via clients and allies in Europe, South and North America
  • (d) Escalating economic sanctions between 2013 – 2019
  • (e) Street violence between 2013 – 2019
  • (f) Sabotage of the entire electrical system between 2017 -2019
  • (g) Hoarding of goods via corporations and distributors from 2014 – 2019
  • (h) Subversion of military and civilian institutions 2002 – 2019
  • (i) Regional alliances to expel Venezuelan membership from regional organizations
  • (j) Economic sanctions accompanied by the seizure of over $10 billion dollars of assets
  • (k) Sanctions on the banking system

The US direct intervention includes the selection and appointment of opposition leaders and ‘dummy’ representatives overseas.

 In brief the US has engaged in a sustained, two decades struggle designed to bring down the Venezuelan government. It combines economic, military, social and media warfare. The US strategy has reduced living standards, undermined economic activity, increased poverty, forced immigration and increaser criminality. Despite the exercise of US global power, it has failed to dislodge the government and impose a client regime.

Why Venezuela has Succeeded?

Despite the two decades of pressure by the world’s biggest imperial power, which bears responsibility for the world’s highest rate of inflation, and despite the illegal seizure of billions of dollars of Venezuelan assets, the people remain loyal , in defense of their government. The reasons are clear and forthright.

 The Venezuelan majority has a history of poverty, marginalization and repression, including the bloody massacre of thousands of protestors in 1989. Millions lived in shanty towns, excluded from higher education and health facilities. The US provided arms and advisers to buttress the politicians who now form the greater part of the US opposition to President Maduro. The US- oligarch alliance extracted billions of dollars from contracts from the oil industry.

 Remembrance of this reactionary legacy is one powerful reason why the vast majority of Venezuelans oppose US intervention in support of the puppet opposition.

 The second reason for the defeat of the US is the long-term large-scale military support of the Chavez-Maduro governments .Former President Chavez instilled a powerful sense of nationalist loyalty among the military which resists and opposes US efforts to subvert the soldiers.

 The popular roots of Presidents Chavez and Maduro resonates with the masses who hate the opposition elites which despise the so-called ‘deplorables’. Chavez and Maduro installed dignity and respect among the poor.

 The Venezuelans government defeated the US-backed coups and lockouts, these victories encouraged the belief that the popular government could resist and defeat the US-oligarch opposition. Victories strengthened confidence in the will of the people.

 Under Chavez over two million modern houses were built for the shanty town dwellers; over two dozen universities and educational centers were built for the poor, all free of charge . Public hospitals and clinics were built in poor neighborhoods as well as public supermarkets which supplied low-cost food and other necessities which sustain living standards despite subsequent shortages.

 Chavez led the formation of the Socialist Party which mobilized and gave voice to the mass of the poor and facilitated representation. Local collectives organized to confront corruption, bureaucracy and criminality. Together with popular militias, the community councils ensured security against CIA fomented terror and destruction.

 Land reform and the nationalization of some mines and factories secured peasant and workers support – even if they were divided by sectarian leaders.

Conclusion

The cumulative socio-economic benefits consolidate support for the Venezuelan leadership despite the hardships the US induces in recent times. The mass of the people have gained a new life and have a lot to lose if the US- oligarchy return to power. A successful US coup will likely massacre tens of thousands of popular supporters of the government. The bourgeoisie will take its revenge for those many who have ruled and benefited at the expense of the rich.

 There are important lessons to be learned from the long-term large-scale successful resistance of the Venezuelan government’s experience but also its limitations.

 Venezuela , early on, secured the loyalty of the army. That’s why the Chavista government has endured over 30 years while the Chilean governments of Salvador Allende was overthrown in three years.

 The Venezuelan government retained mass electoral support because of the deep socio-economic changes that entrenched mass support in contrast to the center-left regimes in Argentina, Brazil and Ecuador which won three elections but were defeated by their right-wing opponents, including electoral partners, with a downturn in the economy, and the flight of middle-class voters and parties.

 Venezuelas linkages with allies in Russia, China and Cuba provided ‘life jackets’ of economic and military support in the face of US interventions, something the center- left governments failed to pursue.

 Venezuela built regional alliances with nearly half of South America, weakening US attempts to form a regional or US invasion force.

 Despite their strategic successes the Venezuelan government has committed several costly mistakes which increased vulnerability.

  • (1) Failure to diversify their exports, markets and banking system. The US sanctions exploited these weaknesses.
  • (2) Failure to carry out monetary reforms to reverse or contain hyperinflation.
  • (3) Failure to maintain the hydro-electoral system and secure it from sabotage.
  • (4) Failure to invest in and recruit new technical professional to upgrade the operation of the financial system and prosecute financial corruption in the banking system. Venezuela worked with high officials who engaged in financial and real estate transactions of a dubious nature.
  • (5) The failure to recruit and train working class and professional political cadres capable of oversight over management.

Venezuela has taken steps to rectify these errors but the question is whether they have time and place to realize radical reforms?

Hoorde afgelopen zaterdag op VRT 1 dat de NAVO officieel Colombia als partner laat toetreden tot haar organisatie…… De NAVO was al enige tijd aanwezig in Colombia, maar blijkbaar was dit niet genoeg voor deze uiterst agressieve, om niet te zeggen terroristische organisatie…….

De VS speelt al dik meer dan 100 jaar een uiterst smerige rol in Zuid- en Midden-Amerika, blijkbaar moet de NAVO, die in feite onder direct bevel van de VS staat, ook meehelpen de neoliberale status quo (en daarmee het neokolonialistisch stelen van o.a. grondstoffen door de VS) te bewaren en te promoten met geweld……

Uiteraard zal de NAVO meewerken met de VS als deze grootste terreurentiteit op aarde zal besluiten dat Maduro van Venezuela met geweld moet worden afgezet, ofwel meedoen aan één van de grootste oorlogsmisdaden die bestaan: een soeverein land met een democratisch gekozen regering aanvallen….. Waar de VS al jaren een economische oorlog voert tegen Venezuela, de oorzaak dat er zo weinig te krijgen is in dit land, zoals een enorm tekort aan medicijnen….. Dit is een vorm van ongelofelijke terreur, immers de gewone bevolking blijft hierdoor verstoken van belangrijke medicijnen, zoals die tegen kanker…… De VS wil met deze boycot de bevolking dwingen zich te verzetten tegen de eigen regering, anders gezegd een smerig staaltje chantage waar je ijskoud van wordt……

Met de NAVO eenmaal in Columbia, is de stap richting Bolivia snel gezet, zeker omdat daar de democratisch gekozen socialistische president Evo Morales aan de macht is en zoals je weet: daar heeft de VS een enorme hekel aan, aan het socialisme…… Immers veronderstel dat de grote onderlaag in de VS wakker wordt, ziet hoe het ook kan, haar kont tegen de krib gooit en zich niet langer als derderangs burgers, of beter gezegd als uitschot laat behandelen………. Vandaar dat de VS elk succesvol socialistisch regime in Zuid- en Midden-Amerika met zoveel geweld bestrijdt, neem de bloedige staatsgreep op 11 september 1973 in Chili, tegen de socialistische regering Allende, een coup georganiseerd en geregisseerd door de CIA……. (al voerde de VS ook daaraan voorafgaand een economische oorlog tegen Chili…)

Je snap dat wij daarmee niet alleen via de belasting opdraaien voor de illegale oorlogen die de VS in het Midden-Oosten voert (en waarvan de gevolgen de kiem van toekomstige ellende al in zich dragen, zie Libië en Malie, of terreur op de straten in de EU), maar we vanaf nu ook zullen bijdragen aan het onderdrukken van de grote onderlaag in Latijns-Amerikaanse landen……. Latijns-Amerika daar de bemoeienis van de VS en daarmee de NAVO zich ook zal uitstrekken naar Midden-Amerika, waar de VS al zolang de beest heeft uitgehangen……

Hoelang laten wij nog toe, dat onze opvolgende regeringen ons leger inzetten om grootschalige terreur uit te oefenen, of deze te steunen?? Dan durft men gvd nog te zeggen dat we meer moeten bijdragen aan defensie in het belang van terreurorganisatie NAVO! Een organisatie waarvan de landen gezamenlijk meer uitgeven aan defensie, uh oorlogvoering dan Rusland en China samen uitgeven aan defensie en dat meer dan één keer…….

Het volgende uitstekende artikel van Paul Street handelt over de lessen van Martin Luther King (in de VS vaak aangeduid als MLK) waarover men in de VS en de rest van het westen liever niet spreekt, dit daar in zijn visie o.a. alleen echte gelijkheid kan ontstaan in een vorm van socialisme………

 Het is op 4 april a.s. 50 jaar geleden dat de staat dr. Martin Luther King liet vermoorden….. Vandaar veel aandacht dit jaar voor deze vrijheid en gelijkheidsstrijder. In de VS is 15 januari, de geboortedag van MLK, een vrije dag: ‘Martin Luther King Day’. Een uiterst hypocriet gebeuren als je het Paul Street vraagt, daar men vooral niet spreekt over de ideeën die King had over de ideale maatschappij en de vorm van bestuur die alle burgers ten goede zou komen, niet alleen de witte midden en hoge inkomens. Een wereld waarin arbeiders niet langer uitgebuit worden door en voor de ondernemers en aandeelhouders (en welgestelden in het algemeen).

 Zo is echt socialisme of communisme een oplossing voor veel van de huidige ellende in de wereld. Vergeet niet dat communisme tot nu toe nooit heeft bestaan in onze wereld. Wat betreft socialisme kan je het Chili van Allende, Cuba van Fidel Castro en Venezuela onder Chavez en Maduro aanwijzen als voorbeelden (ook al was en is dit nog niet zoals het zou moeten zijn, echter wel zo goed dat de arme bevolking een veel beter leven kreeg, inclusief gezondheidszorg, een fatsoenlijk dak boven het hoofd en alfabetisering. Vandaar ook dat de VS zo haar best doet daar een eind aan te maken, wat tot nu toe al een aantal keren is gelukt, neem de uiterst bloedige staatsgreep tegen de democratisch gekozen regering van president Salvador Allende op 11 september 1973 in Chili, waarbij Allende strijdend werd vermoord…….. (betaald door- en onder regie en mede verantwoording van de CIA…..)

 Momenteel is de VS naast het voeren van illegale oorlogen bezig met een economische oorlog tegen Venezuela, helaas is een heel groot deel van de Venezolaanse bevolking op de hoogte van de smerige streken die de VS het land levert (stop op leveringen van medicijnen en levensmiddelen) dat ze aan de kant van Maduro blijven staan. (dit nog naast de door de CIA georganiseerde gewelddadige protesten in Venezuela….)
De kijk van MLK op de wereld was volgens de schrijver van het volgende artikel, Paul Street, de reden waarom de overheid in de VS King alleen wil herdenken als strijder voor gelijke rechten t.b.v. gekleurde burgers……. Men leidt willens en wetens de aandacht af van de visie die King had op de VS en de wereld in het groot. Street spreekt dan ook (terecht) van een voortdurende morele en intellectuele moord op Martin Luther Kung………. (‘vreemd genoeg’ is er ook in de EU amper of geen aandacht voor de linkse kant van King….)

 Zijn visie op de wereld, gecombineerd met zijn charisma is dan ook de reden waarom Martin Luther King ‘een bedreiging was’ voor de overheid en ‘wel vermoord moest worden…..’

Dr. King’s Long Assassination

As the 50th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King’s violent death (on April 4, 1968) grows closer, you can expect to hear more and more in U.S. corporate media about the real and alleged details of his immediate physical assassination (or perhaps execution). You will not be told about King’s subsequent and ongoing moral, intellectual, and ideological assassination.
I am referring to the conventional, neo-McCarthyite, and whitewashed narrative of King that is purveyed across the nation every year, especially during and around the national holiday that bears his name. This domesticated, bourgeois airbrushing portrays King as a mild liberal reformist who wanted little more than a few basic civil rights adjustments in a supposedly good and decent American System – a loyal supplicant who was grateful to the nation’s leaders for finally making noble alterations. This year was no exception.
The official commemorations never say anything about the Dr. King who studied Marx sympathetically at a young age and who said in his last years that “if we are to achieve real equality, the United States will have to adopt a modified form of socialism.” They delete the King who wrote that “the real issue to be faced” beyond “superficial” matters was the need for a radical social revolution.
It deletes the King who went on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) in late 1967 to reflect on how little the Black freedom struggle had attained beyond some fractional changes in the South. He deplored “the arresting of the limited forward progress” Blacks and their allies had attained “by [a] white resistance [that] revealed the latent racism that was [still] deeply rooted in U.S. society.”

 “As elation and expectations died,” King explained on the CBC, “Negroes became more sharply aware that the goal of freedom was still distant and our immediate plight was substantially still an agony of deprivation. In the past decade, little has been done for Northern ghettoes. Al the legislation was to remedy Southern conditions – and even these were only partially improved.”
Worse than merely limited, King felt, the gains won by Black Americans during what he considered just the “first phase” of their freedom struggle (1955-1965) were dangerous in that they “brought whites a sense of completion” – a preposterous impression that the so-called “Negro problem” had been solved and that there was therefore no more basis or justification for further black activism. “When Negroes assertively moved on to ascend to the second rung of the ladder,” King noted, “a firm resistance from the white community developed…In some quarters it was a courteous rejection, in others it was a singing white backlash. In all quarters unmistakably, it was outright resistance.”
Explaining to his CBC listeners the remarkable wave of race riots that washed across U.S. cities in the summers of 1966 and 1967, King made no apologies for Black violence. He blamed “the white power structure…still seeking to keep the walls of segregation and inequality intact” for the disturbances. He found the leading cause of the riots in the reactionary posture of “the white society, unprepared and unwilling to accept radical structural change,” which” produc[ed] chaos” by telling Blacks (whose expectations for substantive change had been aroused) “that they must expect to remain permanently unequal and permanently poor.”
King also blamed the riots in part on Washington’s imperialist and mass-murderous war on Vietnam. Along with the misery it inflicted on Indochina, King said, the United States’ savage military aggression against Southeast Asia stole resources from Lyndon Johnson’s briefly declared and barely fought “War on Poverty.” It sent poor Blacks to the front killing lines to a disproportionate degree. It advanced the notion that violence was a reasonable response and even a solution to social and political problems.
Black Americans and others sensed what King called “the cruel irony of watching Negro and white boys on TV screens as they kill and die together for a nation that has been unable to seat them together in the same school. We watch them in brutal solidarity burning the huts of a poor village, but we realize that they would never live on the same block in Detroit,” King said on the CBC, adding that he “could not be silent in the face of such cruel manipulation of the poor.”
Racial hypocrisy aside, King said that “a nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defense [here he might better have said “military empire”] than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual doom.”
Did the rioters disrespect the law, as their liberal and conservative critics alike charged? Yes, King said, but added that the rioters’ transgressions were “derivative crimes…born of the greater crimes of the…policy-makers of the white society,” who “created discrimination…created slums [and] perpetuate unemployment, ignorance, and poverty… [T]he white man,” King elaborated, “does not abide by law in the ghetto. Day in and day out he violates welfare laws to deprive the poor of their meager allotments; he flagrantly violates building codes and regulations; his police make a mockery of law; he violates laws on equal employment and education and the provision of public services. The slums are a handiwork of a vicious system of the white society.”
Did the rioters engage in violence? Yes, King said, but noted that their aggression was “to a startling degree…focused against property rather than against people.” He observed that “property represents the white power structure, which [the rioters] were [quite understandably] attacking and trying to destroy.” Against those who held property “sacred,” King argued that “Property is intended to serve life, and no matter how much we surround with rights and respect, it has no personal being.”
What to do? King advanced radical changes that went against the grain of the nation’s corporate state, reflecting his agreement with New Left militants that “only by structural change can current evils be eliminated, because the roots are in the system rather in man or faulty operations.” King advocated an emergency national program providing either decent-paying jobs for all or a guaranteed national income “at levels that sustain life in decent circumstances.” He also called for the “demolition of slums and rebuilding by the population that lives in them.”
His proposals, he said, aimed for more than racial justice alone. Seeking to abolish poverty for all, including poor whites, he felt that “the Negro revolt” was properly challenging each of what he called “the interrelated triple evils” of racism, economic injustice/poverty (capitalism) and war (militarism and imperialism). The Black struggle had thankfully “evolve[ed] into more than a quest for [racial] desegregation and equality,” King said. It had become “a challenge to a system that has created miracles of production and technology” but had failed to “create justice.”

 “If humanism is locked outside the [capitalist] system,” King said on CBC five months before his assassination (or execution), “Negroes will have revealed its inner core of despotism and a far greater struggle for liberation will unfold. The United States is substantially challenged to demonstrate that it can abolish not only the evils of racism but the scourge of poverty and the horrors of war….”
There should be no doubt that King meant capitalism when he referred to “the system” and its “inner core of despotism.” This is clear from the best scholarship on King, including David Garrow’s epic, Pulitzer Prize-winning biography, Bearing the Cross: Martin Luther King, Jr. and the Southern Christian Leadership Council (HarperCollins, 1986)

No careful listener to King’s CBC talks could have missed the radicalism of his vision and tactics. “The dispossessed of this nation – the poor, both White and Negro – live in a cruelly unjust society,” King said. “They must organize a revolution against that injustice,” he added.
Such a revolution would require “more than a statement to the larger society,” more than “street marches” King proclaimed. “There must,” he added, “be a force that interrupts [that society’s] functioning at some key point.” That force would use “mass civil disobedience” to “transmute the deep rage of the ghetto into a constructive and creative force” by “dislocate[ing] the functioning of a society.”
“The storm is rising against the privileged minority of the earth,” King added for good measure. “The storm will not abate until [there is a] just distribution of the fruits of the earth…” The “massive, active, nonviolent resistance to the evils of the modern system” that King advocated was “international in scope,” reflecting the fact that “the poor countries are poor primarily because [rich Western nations] have exploited them through political or economic colonialism. Americans in particular must help their nation repent of her modern economic imperialism.”
King was a democratic socialist mass-disobedience-advocating and anti-imperialist world revolution advocate. The guardians of national memory don’t want you to know about that when they purvey the official, doctrinally imposed memory of King as an at most liberal and milquetoast reformer. (In a similar vein, our ideological overlords don’t want us to know that Albert Einstein [Time magazine’s “Person of the 20th Century”] wrote a brilliant essay making the case for socialism in the first issue of venerable U.S.-Marxist magazine Monthly Review – or that Helen Keller was a fan of the Russian Revolution.)
The threat posed to the official bourgeois memory by King’s CBC lectures – and by much more that King said and wrote in the last three years of his life – is not just that they show an officially iconic gradualist reformer to have been a democratic socialist opponent of the profits system and its empire. It is also about how clearly King analyzed the incomplete and unfinished nature of the nation’s progress against racial and class injustice, around which all forward developments pretty much ceased in the 1970s, thanks to a white backlash that was already well underway in the early and mid-1960s (before the rise of the Black Panthers, who liberal historians like to blame for the nation’s rightward racial drift under Nixon and Reagan) and to a top-down corporate war on working-class Americans that started under Jimmy Carter and then went ballistic under Ronald Reagan.
The “spiritual doom” imposed by U.S. militarism has lived on, with Washington having directly and indirectly killed untold millions of Central Americans, South Americans, Africans, Muslims, Arabs, and Asians in many different ways over the years since Vietnam. Accounting for roughly 40 percent of the world’s military expenditure, the U.S. maintains Cold War-level “defense” (empire) budgets to sustain an historically unmatched global empire (with at least 800 military bases spread across more than 80 foreign countries and “troops or other military personnel in about 160 foreign countries and territories”) even as a near-record 45 million U.S.-Americans remain stuck under the federal government’s notoriously inadequate poverty level. A very disproportionate number of the nation’s poor are Black and Latino/a.
It is obvious that the racist and white-supremacist real estate baron Donald J. Trump spoke disingenuously in tongue when he mouthed nice words about Dr. King last Monday. But what about his predecessor, Barack Obama, the nation’s first technically Black president? It was cruelly ironic that Obama kept a bust of King in the Oval Office to watch over his regular betrayal of the martyred peace and justice leader’s ideals. Consistent with Dr. Adolph Reed Jr.’s early (1996) dead-on description of the future President as “a smooth Harvard lawyer with impeccable credentials and vacuous to repressive neoliberal politics,” Obama consistently backed top corporate and financial interests (whose representatives filled and dominated his administrations, campaigns, and campaign coffers) over and against those who would undertake serious programs to end poverty, redistribute wealth (the savage re-concentration of which since Dr. King’s time has produced a New Gilded Age in the U.S.), grant free and universal health care, constrain capital, and save livable ecology as it approached a number of critical tipping points on the accelerating path to irreversible catastrophe. Thus is that one of Obama’s supporters (Ezra Klein) was moved in late 2012 to complain that a president “whose platform consists of Romney’s health care bill, Newt Gingrich’s environmental policies, John McCain’s deficit-financed payroll tax cuts, George W. Bush’s bailouts of filing banks and corporations, and a mixture of the Bush and Clinton tax rate” was still being denounced as a “leftist.”

 Obama opposed calls for any special programs or serious federal attention to the nation’s savage racial inequalities, so vast now that the median of white households was 20 times that of black households and 18 times that of Hispanic households near the end of his presidency. He did this while the fact of his ascendency to the White House deeply reinforced white America’s sense that racism was over as a barrier to black advancement and generated its own significant white backlash that only worsened the situation of less privileged black Americans.
Obama made it crystal clear in ways that no white president could that what Dr. King in 1963 called America’s unpaid “promissory note” and “bad check” to Black America would remain un-cashed. This was all too sadly consistent with Obama’s preposterous 2007 campaign claim (at a commemoration of the King-led 1965 Selma Voting Rights March) to believe that Blacks had already come “90 percent” of the way to equality in the U.S.
Completing the “triple evils” hat trick, Obama – the self-appointed chief-executioner atop the Special Forces Global War on (of) Terror Kill List – embraced and expanded upon the vast criminal and worldwide spying and killing operation he inherited from Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Paul Wolfowitz, and George W. Bush. He tamped down Bush’s failed ground wars only to ramp up and inflate the role of unaccountable special force and drone attacks in the spirit of his dashing and reckless imperial role model John Fitzgerald Kennedy. Obama’s drone program, Noam Chomsky noted in early 2015, was “the most extreme terrorist campaign of modern times.” It “target[ed] people suspected of perhaps intending to harm us some day, and any unfortunates who happen to be nearby,” Chomsky wrote.
In waging his deadly and disastrous, nation-wrecking and regionally destabilizing air war on Libya, Obama (unlike Bush prior to the invasion of Iraq) did not even bother with the pretense of seeking Congressional approval. “It should be a scandal,” Stansfield Smith wrote on CounterPunch one year ago, “that left-liberals paint Trump as a special threat, a war mongerer – [but] not Obama who is the first president to be at war every day of his eight years, who is waging seven wars at present, who dropped three bombs an hour, 24 hours a day, in 2016.” As Alan Nairn told Democracy Now’s Amy Goodman in early 2010, Obama kept the nation’s giant imperial machinery “set on kill.”
Meanwhile, Obama far surpassed the Cheney-Bush regime when it came to repressing antiwar dissenters, not to mention those who opposed the rule of the 1 percent – smashed by a coordinated federal campaign in the fall of 2011. “As all kinds of journalists have continuously pointed out,” Glenn Greenwald noted in early 2014, “the Obama administration is more aggressive and more vindictive when it comes to punishing whistleblowers than any administration in American history, including the Nixon administration.”
Furthermore, and to make matters far worse, Obama helped keep the planet set on burn. As Stansfield Smith noted two days before the horrid Trump’s inauguration:

Obama, who says he recognizes the threat to humanity posed by climate change, still invested at least $34 billion to promote fossil fuel projects in other countries. That is three times as much as George W Bush spent in his two terms, almost twice that of Ronald Reagan, George HW Bush and Bill Clinton put together…Obama financed 70 foreign fossil fuel projects. When completed they will release 164 million metric tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere every year – about the same output as the 95 currently operating coal-fired power plants in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Oklahoma. He financed two natural gas plants on an island in the Great Barrier Reef, as well as two of the largest coalmines on the planet… Moreover, under Obama, the U.S. has reversed the steady drop in U.S. oil production which had continued unchecked since 1971. The U.S. was pumping just 5.1 million barrels per day when Obama took office. By April 2016 it was up to 8.9 million barrels per day. A 74% increase.

As Obama proudly said in 2012, in the film This Changes Everything:

‘Over the last three years I’ve directed my administration to open up millions of acres for gas and oil exploration across 23 different states. We’re opening up more than 75% of our potential oil resources offshore. We’ve quadrupled the number of operating rigs to a record high. We’ve added enough oil and gas pipelines to encircle the earth and then some. So, we are drilling all over the place, right now.’

“Drill, baby, drill!”
Perhaps the dismal neoliberal Obama presidency – a key midwife to the Trump atrocity – was at least an object lesson on how real progressive and democratic change is about something bigger than a change in the party or color of the people in nominal power. That is certainly something King (who would be 88 today) would have understood very well had he been able to witness the endless mendacity of the nation’s first half-white president first-hand.
“The black revolution,” King wrote in a posthumously published 1969 essay titled “A Testament of Hope” (embracing a very different, authentically progressive sort of hope than that purveyed by Brand Obama in 2008) “is much more than a struggle for the rights of Negroes. It is forcing America to face all its interrelated flaws – racism, poverty, militarism, and materialism. It is exposing evils that are rooted deeply in the whole structure of our society. It reveals systemic rather than superficial flaws and suggests that radical reconstruction society of society itself is the real issue to be faced.”
Those words ring as true as ever today, with heightened urgency as it becomes undeniable that the profits system is driving humanity over an environmental cliff. They are words we never hear during official King Day commemorations.
King, it is worth recalling, was recruited by antiwar progressives to run for the U.S. presidency in 1967. He politely declined, claiming that he’d have little chance of winning and that he preferred to serve as a force of moral conscience for all the nation’s political parties.
The deeper truth, clear from his late-life writing and speeches, is that he had no interest in climbing into the power elite: his passion was directed toward a “revolution” of “the dispossessed” and a mass grassroots movement for the redistribution of wealth and power – a “radical reconstruction of society itself” – from the bottom up. Dr. King was interested in what the late radical U.S. historian Howard Zinn considered the more urgent politics of “who’s sitting in the streets,” very different from what Zinn saw as the comparatively superficial politics of “who’s sitting in the White House.”

 King’s officially deleted radical record and Zinn’s clever and sage dichotomy are worth bearing in mind in coming months and years as we watch the nation’s “left” liberals try to call forth and herald a new Obama (Oprah perhaps?) in 2020. That is certainly one of the last things we need.

It’s Time to Stop “Supporting Our Troops”

December 13, 2015 “Information Clearing House” – With the 115 year old tradition of the annual Army-Navy football classic on Saturday, the so called “America’s game” and “rivalry for the ages” is now once again upon us. This occasion never fails to pay reverent homage to America’s so called “cream of the crop” elitist military academies and always from the president to celebrities Americans give tribute to our armed forces. At this time we hear that familiar patriotic mantra “support our troops” mindlessly repeated. So it seems appropriate now to take a cold hard look to examine what it actually means to “support our troops.”

 As both a West Point graduate and critic of the American Empire, to me the “support our troops” sentiment has long outworn its propagandized welcome. US Empire has been using that contrite expression to brainwash Americans and justify its wars and violence for far too long. It sprang up during this last decade’s protracted war losses in Iraq and Afghanistan. Never was it ever heard during the Vietnam War when our combat veterans returned home feeling defeated and suffering from untreated PTSD symptoms, shunned by a nation that had bitterly turned against them and their war, particularly by their own peer group. Fast forward to four decades and three war defeats later, and our government is still sending Americans off to fight and die inAfghanistan (9800 currently) and Iraq (3500 with another 100 on the way), and now in Syria (50 just proposed with more on the way while war-hawk Bobbsy twins McCain and Graham are calling for 20,000 more troops in Syria). But this century’s wars we keep hearing red, white and blue, flag waving Americans urging us to “support our troops.”

 Over the long haul, supporting our troops has resulted in the United States being the most warring, aggressive nation on earth, bar none. As we’re about to enter 2016, our ultraviolent country will be killing other human beings somewhere on this planet for 223 out of the last 240 total years the US has been in existence. That’s 93% of our time as a nation-turned-Empire we’ve been destroying human life. That’s certainly nothing to be proud of. Yet it’s “our troops” who’ve been the murdering culprit. No compassionate, rational person could possibly place blindly obedient support behind such rampantly wanton disregard and contempt for fellow human life.

Another fact that Americans can’t be proud of is knowing that the most warring nation on earth just since World War II alone has murdered up to 30 million people around the globe with an estimated 90% of them being civilians. Having initiated 201 out of the total of 240 armed conflicts from the end of WWII to 2001, it then follows that between those years the US Empire of Chaos and Destruction has murdered 27 million innocent people whose lives have tragically been cut short through no fault of their own for simply living in the wrong place at the wrong time belonging to the wrong ethnic nationality targeted by America’s full spectrum dominance and global superpower hegemony. And that was before the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

 And what does it take to be targeted as a US foreign enemy? Any country whose leaders choose to support their own citizens’ well-being, independence and quality of life over US Empire’s fascist transnational corporate interests is attacked economically through sanctions and embargos, politically through propaganda lies and threats, or militarily though unnatural disasters/weather warfare, occupied invasions involving long term bloody conflict or acts of terrorism, coups and assassinations. Just ask Cuba, Venezuela, Haiti, Panama, Iran, Syria, Iraq, Libya, Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia, Sudan, Congo North Korea, Donbas, Palestine or Russia just to name more than a dozen.

People around the world have been victimized for well over a century by American Empire’s willful rape and pillage of their lands in the name of stolen natural resources and inhumane forced slave labor, and those are the nations whose puppet dictators willingly succumbed and acquiesced to US demands and pressures. In fact in the tradition of the British Empire, North America’s entire domestic and foreign history has been made of genocidal killing, enslaving, stealing and subjugating other darker-skinned races into death and submission. Given this context with the bigger picture perspective, “supporting our troops” is really supporting mass murder around the world. So bearing that sobering, grim reality in mind, it’s time for Americans to cease and desist with their jingoistic rah-rah that only adds insult to injury to the rest of the victimized world.

 In 2008 the US spent more money every 5 seconds to wage an immoral, unlawful war in Iraq than the average working American earned all year long. 80% of America’s taxes are earmarked towards funding the annual Pentagon budget to wage war around the world. When that kind of war investment misappropriating US citizenry’s hard-earned tax dollars places such lopsided priority over the well-being of its own people, with over a decade of wearing down an overextended military forced into fighting three, four and even five consecutive combat tours on two simultaneous warfronts, it also overburdened and decimated America’s middle class.

And now for the first time in nearly a half century, the US middle class is no longer a majority in the United States. A large chunk of it died when sinking into an expanding lower class of impoverished, poverty-stricken Americans barely making ends meet. Half the respondents in a recent survey say they either break even or make less than their cost of living
expenses. As anoligarchy the US federal government no longer acts in the best interests of its citizens.

 But considering the costs of war to victim nations where since 2003 the US has killed over a million people in Iraq alone, this figure released from a study earlier this year is admittedly a conservative estimate. The study concludes that up to two million in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan have been killed by America’s wars. These colossal crimes against humanity constitute supporting the US federal government as well as its military troops a moral crime. America’s complete and utter destruction of the world’s second and third largest oil producers in Iraq and Libya, turning them into failed states because their one time US allied leaders moved away from the US petrodollar is unconscionable, yet that’s the tragic outcome of blindly supporting our troops. More than any other single country, the US today is responsible for allowing ISIS tomake billions in profit from stolen oil from Iraq and Syria financing the biggest terrorist group on the planet. And US partners-in-crime Turkey and Israel are the two biggest buyers of terrorist oil. So in effect supporting our troops is also supporting both crimes against humanity as well as worldwide terrorism.

 Supporting our troops has contributed to the world becoming far more armed and dangerous today than at any prior time in our recorded human history. Our nation is also responsible forspearheading the biggest arms race in history where it’s not just the US Empire spending so many billions on weapons of mass destruction but due to Empire aggression it has forced Russia and China to answer by also significantly increasing their military spending. A dozen years ago the US defense budget nearly equaled the rest of the world combined. But during this century’s two protracted US wars plus smaller secret ones around the world, America’s military expenditures have soared to $682 billion in 2012 from $417.4 in 2003. The exponential rise of American aggression likewise has pressured the unilaterally declared US enemies Russia and China to significantly increase their military spending as well. The US has gone from spending near half (46%) of the world’s military amount in 2003 to just 35% in 2014 due to Russia and China dramatically expanding their military budgets. In fact following America’s lead, both the world’s annual arms sales as well as its military budgets have exponentially skyrocketed amongst dozens of countries all seemingly gearing up for “the big one.” Not surprisingly, at 31% the US is also the biggest arms dealer on the planet followed by Russia’s 27% with China accounting for 5% during the period from 2010-2014 that totaled a 16% increase from arms sold from 2005-2009.

 Events and developments have escalated tensions and confrontations between the US and Russia and China in recent weeks. With the US backing NATO member Turkey recklessly shootingdown a Russian fighter jet resulting in a Russian rescue helicopter also brought down last month, in addition to the probable ISIS bomb taking down the Russian airliner killing all 224 onboard a month and a half ago, the US Navy destroyer skirting inside the twelve nautical mile range of built up Chinese islands in the South China Sea, the United States and the West appear to be baiting Putin and the East into World War III. And with nuclear powers going directly head-to-head in Syria, Ukraine and Asia, self-annihilation of the human race becomes a very real and grave risk culminating after a quarter century of US Empire belligerently operating as the sole global superpower and “global village” bully.

Out of nearly 200 countries no other nation on earth has more than a few military bases outside its own country except the United States. In contrast to the rest of the world, the US sends 1.5 million military occupiers on active duty to over a thousand military installations on every continent throughout the globe. Just this week the Pentagon announced a worldwide expansion of military bases without specifying a total number under the auspices of secrecy. West Africa, East Africa and Afghanistan are slotted for full scale bases. Meanwhile US Special Forces that covertly operate by stealth surprise often at night in guerilla-type, fast strike operations are busily secretly committing acts of terror in over 135 nations globally, that’s about 75% of the all world’s nations.

 Let’s look at the way our federal government supports our troops. After sending over 6800 US soldiers (along with 7000 civilian contractors) to their early graves fighting in America’s two longest running wars in the nation’s history, leaving one million wounded personnel filing VA claims ranging from life threatening physical injuries to emotionally crippling PTSD traumas and scars, the feds have betrayed our patriots serving our country by treasonously targeting all returning combat veterans as the biggest enemy threat on American soil. Indeed veterans, gun owners and dissidents are deemed to pose a greater danger than even the feds’ own created terrorist monster ISIS that Obama’s open border policy facilitates easy access to establishing terrorist cells inside America.

Those veterans seeking help are customarily snowed under by lethal Big Pharma poison, fast becoming addicted and even more unstable. Many are haplessly waiting and dying on lists for medical services that often don’t come soon enough. Exposing forty veterans who died awaiting services on invisible lists at the Phoenix VA hospital alone triggered a major scandal last year. For several years running on average twenty-two veterans have been killing themselves each and every day in the United States. The overloaded Veterans Administration has been caught grossly ill-prepared to adequately deal with the sheer enormity of the problem with so many severely damaged ex-soldiers in dire need of long term assistance and care. One study predicts that up to nearly a half million veterans will end up with criminal cases in the court system.

With nearly half (44%) of Congress millionaires and so few (19%) ever serving in uniform now, the DC warmongers are ever-at-the-ready to send young men and women from America’s lower class into harm’s way fighting Obama’s dirty little secret wars in multiple combat zones around the world that the public never even hears about. Yet you’ll see next to none of their own sons or daughters fighting in some far off war. The way our own government has used, abused and not supported our troops is despicable.
And then a sizeable percentage of those Americans who are so vocal in their claims of “supporting our troops,” are too frequently disingenuous. Often hypocrites merely mouth the same banal platitudes year after year from their ivory-towered, pretend world, living so far removed and disaffected from actual war conditions or even knowing anyone who wears a military uniform. Never fathoming the tragic insanity or bloody lifelong consequences that US wars ravage on millions worldwide, permanently damaging all involved, Americans who haven’t a clue will glibly pay lip service, “We owe so much to our soldiers who fight to keep us safe and free.” What bubble, planet or century are they living on or in?
Since the inside coup of 9/11 was perpetrated, US citizens have become the murderous neocons’ war on terror victims as well, terrorized by their own international crime cabal government and militarized police state that’s effectively stolen their freedom and civil liberties while the guilty treasonously continue violating sworn oaths to uphold and protect both the Constitution and American people. Yet too many brainwashed, dumbed down and clueless in America don’t seem to get it. Maybe it’s because they’re bombarded 24/7 by MSM lies and disinformation that never expose the ugliness of war as it really is. The ruling elite controls all aspects of mass media, engaging in widespread censorship of films, television and video games where violence and war are only glorified. Military, CIA and FBI liaisons control every aspect of what comes out of Hollywood these days.

But over four decades of a volunteer army comprised of less than half of one percent of the total US population also contributes greatly to the widening disconnect between the 99+% civilian population and the less than 1% Americans in uniform. The atrocities and horror that the imperialistic Empire’s killing machine has inflicted on Third World nations half a world away may as well be billions of miles away on another planet or galaxy. Out of sight, out of mind goes many civilians’ insulated, tunnel version reality.

 Those currently in uniform need to be reminded that they have a sworn duty to protect America from domestic and foreign enemies. As citizens who no longer live in a democratic republic but now a totalitarian police state, they need to recognize that their federal government has adiabolical agenda to enslave and eliminate fellow Americans. Instead of criminalizing dissent, the real domestic enemy has become the federal government and all Americans need to accept this tragic development. Therefore, both those already in uniform as well as those ready to sign up and allow themselves to become their crime cabal’s latest cannon fodder in the elite’s wars need to stand up and be counted as patriots loyal to their nation and fellow citizens rather than adhere to blind obedience to their psychopathic masters. It’s no longer okay to support the troops when they’re misdirected into committing treason against their own citizenry. Military personnel need to take responsibility for their actions and do what’s right by both their Constitution as well as humanity.

 2015 has been a tumultuous year when by globalist design terrorism has expanded to all corners of the earth, spreading death, war and destruction in its wake. Meanwhile, feeling its economic prowess slipping away in the face of the emerging power of Eastern rivals China and Russia, the United States government has already conceded losing its war to retain the US dollar as the world’s reserve currency. The DC crime syndicate knows its days in power are numbered. Since the psychopaths ruling the planet are unwilling to relinquish their ruthless power of absolute control, they realize that using their Manchurian puppet president and his overstretched US Empire to recklessly do their dirty planetary bidding to successfully destroy the world’s most powerful nation sending Empire into rapid freefall decline on the way to one world government can only be achieved by igniting World War III against the Eastern powers just as their Ponzi-rigged, house of cards, debt-based global economy implodes on itself. So this late in the power elite’s endgame when we’re still hearing “support the troops,” in actuality it’s time to fight for our lives in support of humanity’s struggle for survival and good ultimately triumphing over evil.

Las donderdag op de site van Compassion In World Farming, dat onze varkens (in de intensieve martelveehouderij) en kweekvis, gevoerd worden met miljoenen tonnen vis, uit de Stille Oceaan. Op het Chileense eiland ‘Asia’ zijn de zeevogels al nagenoeg uitgestorven……. Maar u snapt natuurlijk wel, dat dit geen reden is om te stoppen met deze totale gekte, welnee men zorgt ‘fijn’, dat dit gebied steeds groter wordt…….
Goed hè….???!!

Opvallend dat dit nieuws niet werd gebracht in het VARA programma Vroege Vogels, in het onderdeel ‘Nieuwsoverzicht’. Kennelijk vond de VARA, tevens de propagandazender van de PvdA, het niet zo kies, dit negatieve nieuws te melden, voorafgaand aan de tweede dag van het PvdA congres…….. Voor de goede orde: nieuws waarbij het domme PvdA dikkerdje Dijksma, die schijt heeft aan de onmenselijke omgang met dieren (m.n. in de intensieve martelveehouderij), een belangrijke rol speelt………
