Trump volgt het scenario van deep state: oorlog met Iran ‘is onvermijdelijk….’

John C. O’Day publiceerde vorige week vrijdag een artikel op Fair.org dat ik overnam van Anti-Media (en dat je onder mijn schrijven terug kan vinden). Hierin vestigt O’Day de aandacht op de Iran-deal van een paar jaar geleden, deze deal of: the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), werd destijds bediscussieerd in de reguliere (massa-) media, waar men stelde dat Iran ofwel deze deal moest slikken, daar anders alleen oorlog met Iran zou overblijven als alternatief………

De voorspelling dat oorlog het enige alternatief zou zijn, werd door de Trump administratie gevolgd, door de deal alsnog af te blazen en met enorme anti-Iran propaganda te beweren dat Iran zich niet aan de deal houdt, ook al zeggen alle VN wapeninspecties dat Iran inderdaad is gestopt met de verrijking van uranium en is begonnen met het ontmantelen van de daarvoor benodigde centrifuges.

Bolton, de oorlogshitser en oorlogsmisdadiger (die voor het leven gevangen zou moeten zitten in Scheveningen) beweerde dat wanneer Iran de boel zou belazeren, het land te maken zou krijgen met ‘de woede van de VS’, ofwel met grootscheepse terreur in de vorm van één van de zwaarste oorlogsmisdaden, het beginnen van alweer een illegale oorlog door deze grootste terreurentiteit op aarde…………

Een belachelijke uitlating van Bolton daar de VS zonder enig bewijs en in tegenspraak met officiële VN rapporten toch al stelt dat Iran vals speelt, m.a.w.: de reden voor de VS om een (illegale) oorlog tegen Iran te beginnen, is door de VS zelf gecreëerd…….. (iets waar de VS ‘goed in is’, neem alle false flag operaties van deze terreurenteit)
O’Day stelt dat de woorden van figuren als Bolton en Trump nog amper op kritiek kunnen rekenen in de VS, wat volgens hem het gevolg is van de berichtgeving in de reguliere media……. O’Day noemt een groot aantal voorbeelden en stelt dan ook dat de Trump administratie die media volgt, echter daar ben ik het niet mee eens. O’Day vergeet het begrip Deep State, de werkelijke machthebbers, die al helemaal niet blij waren met de Iran-deal. Deze Deep State beheerst ook de massamedia en zijn derhalve verantwoordelijk voor wat die media brengen aan (nep-) nieuws, leugens en pure propaganda (waarbij Goebbels z’n gore vingers zou aflikken….)

Ondanks dat een groot deel van die media in onmin leven met Trump, staan ze volkomen achter de terreur die de VS verspreidt over het Midden-Oosten, Latijns-Amerika en Afrika……. Vergeet daarnaast niet dat het in feite niet uitmaakt wie er regeert in de VS, al helemaal niet wat betreft de buitenlandpolitiek, neem ‘vredesduif’ Obama die als eerste VS president de volle 2 termijnen in (illegale) oorlogen was verwikkeld met meerdere landen en er zelf (officieel) 2 begon….

Trump Administration Follows Corporate Media Playbook for War With Iran

(FAIR.org) — Three years ago, as Americans debated the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) agreement with the Islamic Republic of Iran—popularly known as “the Iran deal”—I highlighted a troubling media trend on FAIR.org (8/20/15): “For nearly all commentators, regardless of their position, war is the only alternative to that position.”
In the months since US President Donald Trump tore up the JCPOA agreement, his administration has been trying to make good on corporate media’s collective prediction. Last week, John Bolton (BBC, 9/26/18), Trump’s national security advisor and chief warmonger, told Iran’s leaders and the world that there would be “hell to pay” if they dare to “cross us.”

That Bolton’s bellicose statements do not send shockwaves of pure horror across a debt-strapped and war-weary United States is thanks in large part to incessant priming for war, facilitated by corporate media across the entire political spectrum, with a particular focus on Iran.
Back in 2015, while current “resistance” stalwarts like the Washington Post (4/2/15)
and Politico (8/11/15) warned us that war with Iran was the most likely alternative to the JCPOA, conservative standard-bearers such as Fox News (7/14/15) and the Washington Times (8/10/15) foretold that war with Iran was the agreement’s most likely outcome. Three years hence, this dynamic has not changed.

To experience the full menu of US media’s single-mindedness about Iran, one need only buy a subscription to the New York Times. After Trump withdrew from the JCPOA, the Times’ editorial board (5/8/18) wrote that his move would “lay conditions for a possible wider war in the Middle East.” Susan Rice (New York Times, 5/8/18), President Barack Obama’s national security advisor, agreed: “We could face the choice of going to war or acquiescing to a nuclear-armed Iran,” she warned. Cartoonist Patrick Chappatte (New York Times, 5/10/18) was characteristically more direct, penning an image of Trump alongside Bolton, holding a fictitious new agreement featuring the singular, ultimate word: “WAR.”
On the other hand, calling Trump’s turn against JCPOA a “courageous decision,” Times columnist Bret Stephens (5/8/18) explained that the move was meant to force the Iranian government to make a choice: Either accede to US demands or “pursue their nuclear ambitions at the cost of economic ruin and possible war.” (Hardly courageous, when we all know there is no chance that Trump or Stephens would enlist should war materialize.)
Trump’s latest antics at the United Nations have spurred a wave of similar reaction across corporate media. Describing his threat to “totally destroy North Korea” at the UN General Assembly last year as “pointed and sharp,” Fox News anchor Eric Shawn (9/23/18) asked Bill Richardson, an Obama ally and President Bill Clinton’s ambassador to the UN, whether Trump would take the same approach toward Iran. “That aggressive policy we have with Iran is going to continue,” Richardson reassured the audience, “and I don’t think Iran is helping themselves.” In other words, if the United States starts a war with Iran, it’s totally Iran’s fault.
Politico (9/23/18), meanwhile, reported that Trump “is risking a potential war with Iran unless he engages the Islamist-led country using diplomacy.” In other words, if the United States starts a war with Iran, it’s totally Trump’s fault. Rice (New York Times, 9/26/18) reiterated her view that Trump’s rhetoric “presages the prospect of war in the Persian Gulf.” Whoever would be the responsible party is up for debate, but that war is in our future is apparently all but certain.
Politico’s article cited a statement signed by such esteemed US experts on war-making as Madeleine Albright, who presided over Clinton’s inhuman sanctions against Iraq in the ’90s, and Ryan Crocker, former ambassador for presidents George W. Bush and Obama to some of America’s favorite killing fields: Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Syria. James Clapper, Obama’s National Intelligence Director, who also signed the letter, played an important role in trumping up WMD evidence against Saddam Hussein before the United States invaded Iraq in 2003. When it comes to US aggression, they’re the experts.
Vanity Fair (9/26/18) interviewed John Glaser of the Cato Institute, who called Trump’s strategy “pathetic,” and also warned that it forebodes war. In an effort to “one-up Obama,” Glaser explained, Trump’s plan is “to apply extreme economic pressure and explicit threats of war in order to get Iran to capitulate.” Sound familiar? As Glaser implies, this was exactly Obama’s strategy, only then it wasn’t seen as “pathetic,” but rather reasonable, and the sole means for preventing the war that every US pundit and politician saw around the corner (The Hill, 8/9/15).
When everyone decides that war is the only other possibility, it starts to look like an inevitability. But even when they aren’t overtly stoking war fever against Iran, corporate media prime the militaristic pump in more subtle yet equally disturbing ways.

First among these is the near-complete erasure of Iranian voices from US airwaves (FAIR.org, 7/24/15). Rather than ask Iranians directly, national outlets like CNN (9/29/18) prefer to invite the prime minister of Israel, serial Iran alarmist and regional pariah Benjamin Netanyahu, to speak for them. During a jovial discussion this weekend over whether regime change and/or economic collapse is Iran’s most likely fate, Netanyahu explained to the audience that, either way,
“The ones who will be happiest if that happens are the people of Iran.” No people of Iran were on hand to confirm or deny this assessment.
Bloomberg (9/30/18) similarly wanted to know, “What’s not to like about Trump’s Iran oil sanctions?” Julian Lee gleefully reported that “they are crippling exports from the Islamic Republic, at minimal cost to the US.” One might think the toll sanctions take on innocent Iranians would be something not to like, but Bloomberg merely worried that, notwithstanding the windfall for US refineries, “oil at $100 a barrel would be bad news for drivers everywhere—including those in the US.”
Another prized tactic is to whitewash Saudi Arabia, Iran’s chief geopolitical rival, whose genocidal destruction of Yemen is made possible by the United States, about which corporate media remain overwhelmingly silent (FAIR.org, 7/23/18). Iran’s involvement in Yemen, which both Trump and the New York Times (9/12/18) describe as “malign behavior,” is a principal justification for US support of Saudi Arabia, including the US-supplied bombs that recently ended the brief lives of over 40 Yemeni schoolchildren. Lockheed Martin’s stock is up 34 percentfrom Trump’s inauguration day.
Corporate media go beyond a simple coverup of Saudi crimes to evangelize their leadership as the liberal antidote to Iran’s “theocracy.” Who can forget Thomas Friedman’s revolting puff piece for the Saudi crown prince Mohammad bin Salman? Extensively quoting Salman (New York Times, 11/23/17), who refers to Iranian Ayatollah Ali Khamenei as “the new Hitler of the Middle East,” Friedman nevertheless remains pessimistic about whether “MBS and his team” can see their stand against Iran through, as “dysfunction and rivalries within the Sunni Arab world generally have prevented forming a unified front.” Oh well, every team needs cheerleaders, and Friedman isn’t just a fair-weather fan.
While Friedman (New York Times, 5/15/18) believes that Trump has drawn “some needed attention to Iran’s bad behavior,” for him pivotal questions remain unanswered, such as “who is going to take over in Tehran if the current Islamic regime collapses?” One immediate fix he proposed was to censure Iran’s metaphorical “occupation” of Syria, Iraq and Lebanon. Isn’t this ironic coming from an unapologetic propagandist for Washington’s decades-long, non-metaphorical occupation of the two countries to the east and west of Iran (FAIR.org, 12/9/15)?
In a surprising break from corporate media convention, USA Today (9/26/18) published a column on US/Iran relations written by an actual Iranian. Reflecting on the CIA-orchestrated coup against Iran’s elected government in 1953, Azadeh Shahshahani, who was born four days after the 1979 revolution there, wrote:

 “I often wonder what would have happened if that coup had not worked, if [Prime Minister] Mosaddeq had been allowed to govern, if democracy had been allowed to flourish.”
“It is time for the US government to stop intervening in Iran and let the Iranian people determine their own destiny,” she beseeched readers.

Shahshahani’s call is supported by some who have rejected corporate media’s war propaganda and have gone to extreme lengths to have their perspectives heard. Anti-war activist and Code Pink founder Medea Benjamin was recently forcibly removed after she upstaged Brian Hook, leader of Trump’s Iran Action Group, on live TV, calling his press conference “the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen” (Real News, 9/21/18). Benjamin implored the audience: “Let’s talk about Saudi Arabia. Is that who our allies are?”
“How dare you bring up the issue of Yemen,” admonished Benjamin as she was dragged from the room. “It’s the Saudi bombing that is killing most people in Yemen. So let’s get real. No more war! Peace with Iran!” Code Pink is currently petitioning the New York Times and Washington Post to stop propagandizing war.
Sadly, no matter whom you ask in corporate media, be they spokespeople for “Trump’s America” or “the resistance,” peace remains an elusive choice in the US political imagination. And while the public was focused last week on Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh’s perjurious testimony, the Senate finalized a $674 billion “defense” budget. Every single Democrat in the chamber voted in favor of the bill, explicitly naming Iran as persona non grata in the United States’ world-leading arms supply network, which has seen a 25 percent increase in exports since Obama took office in 2009.
The US government’s imperial ambitions are perhaps its only truly bipartisan project—what the New York Times euphemistically refers to as “globalism.” Nowhere was this on fuller display than at the funeral for Republican Sen. John McCain (FAIR.org, 9/11/18), where politicians of all stripes were tripping over themselves to produce the best accolades for a man who infamously sang“bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran” to the tune of a Beach Boys song.
McCain’s bloodlust was nothing new. Nearly a hundred years ago, after the West’s imperial competition culminated in the most destructive war the world had ever seen, the brilliant American sociologist and anti-colonial author WEB Du Bois wrote, “This is not Europe gone mad; this is not aberration nor insanity; this is Europe.”
Iranian leaders have repeatedly said they do not want war with the US (AP, 9/27/18), but US corporate media, despite frequently characterizing Trump as a “mad king” (FAIR.org, 6/13/18), continue to play an instrumental role in rationalizing a future war with Iran. Should such an intentional catastrophe come to pass, we can hardly say that this would be America gone mad; war is not aberration, it is always presented as the next sane choice. This is America.

Ongelofelijk wat een ‘land’ de VS, zoals al eerder gesteld: hoe kan de politiek een rechter aanwijzen? Waar Kavanaugh werd aangewezen door de vrouwonvriendelijke psychopaat Trump, die aanranding van vrouwen de normaalste zaak van de wereld vindt en dat zelfs openlijk durfde te zeggen (grab ‘m by the pussy…’), waar de senaat alsnog deze schoft goedkeurde als opperrechter…….

In de VS heeft men blijkbaar nog nooit gehoord van de scheiding van de machten, één van de eerste voorwaarden voor een democratie…. Oh ja, dom van mij: de VS is al lang een politiestaat, waar de president alleen die functie kan bemachtigen met een enorme bak geld……

Een land waar dit mogelijk is heeft niets meer van doen met een rechtsstaat…… Het was al te zot voor woorden dat een vrouwvijandige schoft als Trump, die in feite toegeeft vrouwen te verkrachten als hij de kans krijgt, president kan worden van een land…… Zie o.a:

Hoe is het mogelijk dat Nederland zelfs eigen onderdanen uitlevert aan deze Vereniging van psychopathische terreur Staten……. Een land waar je beter kan bekennen een misdaad te hebben begaan ook al is dat niet zo, dit vanwege het ‘simpele feit’ dat je bij een toch schuldig verklaring een enorme straf moet uitzitten……

De cellen in de VS zitten vol met mensen die ofwel onschuldig zijn, dan wel zijn gevuld met gekleurde mensen, die worden veroordeeld voor zaken waarvoor een witte VS burger wordt vrijgesproken (vooral in drugszaken).

Nu dus een opperrechter die politiek is benoemd (nogmaals: een gotspe) en die meerdere vrouwen heeft aangerand en verkracht in het verleden…… Opperschoft Kavenaugh is tegen abortus en anticonceptie, ofwel de door vrouwen zo moeizaam bevochten rechten verdwijnen straks door het putje….

Toevoeging: Kavenaugh werd ten onrecht door mij opperrechter genoemd, hij maakt deel uit van het hooggerechtshof, waarvan een ander de opperrechter is. Dit doet verder niets af aan dit bericht.

Medea Benjamin toont kijkers wat echt verzet tegen Trump inhoudt en hoe de VS Iran demoniseert

Medea Benjamin, een activist van CodePink, heeft afgelopen woensdag een tv uitzending verstoord waarin Brian Hook, een ultra rechtse plork van de denktank Hudson Institute, met zijn smerige anti-Iraanse propaganda de kijker voorliegt dat een oorlog tegen Iran volkomen gerechtvaardigd is. Het gegeven dat deze Hook de adviseur was van massamoordenaar en oorlogshitser Bolton en dat nu is voor ploert Mike Pompeo, o.a. directeur van Iran Action Team, zal je na het voorgaande niet verrassen.
Benjamin liet voordat ze door twee ‘zware jongens’ werd afgevoerd, precies weten waar het op staat en hekelde ze de afwijzing door de Trump administratie van de nucleaire deal met Iran en de opnieuw opgelegde sancties tegen Iran, die m.n. de gewone Iraniërs treffen…. Voorts hekelde Benjamin de weg die de Trump administratie volgt naar een illegale oorlog van de VS tegen Iran, waar ze nog eens fijntjes wees op de desastreuze gevolgen van de illegale oorlogen die de VS begon tegen Irak, Libië en Syrië……. (o.a. meer dan 2 miljoen doden, ofwel door de VS vermoordde slachtoffers…)
In de VS worden de anti-Trump democraten afgeschilderd als verzetslieden tegen de Trump administratie, dit vanwege de zogenaamde ‘Trump-Rusland connectie’ (‘Russiagate’). Johnstone stelt terecht dat dit zogenaamde verzet zich niet bezighoudt met de genocide (die Johnstone jammer genoeg niet zo noemt), die Saoedi-Arabië met hulp van de VS* uitvoert in Jemen…….
Vandaar ook de titel die Johnstone haar artikel meegaf, waarin ze het echte verzet tegen de Trump administratie door Benjamin verwoordt.
Niet vergeten moet worden dat onder Obama die steun al bestond, de steun voor de genocide die Saoedi-Arabië uitvoert in buurland Jemen Johnstone stelt dan ook terecht dat er geen verschil bestaat tussen de de buitenlandpolitiek van de republikeinen en de democraten**. Wel vreemd dat Johnstone de democraten de enorme ongefundeerde hysterie over Trump-Russische inmenging in de presidentsverkiezingen van 2016 verwijt en de democraten meteen onder de neus wrijft geen kritiek te leveren op de massamoord die in Jemen nu al sinds 2014 plaatsvindt (Johnstone betoogt dat je als democraat de Trump administratie het verwijt kan maken mee te werken aan die massamoord in Jemen en dan m.n. door te wijzen op het grote aantal kinderen dat hier het slachtoffer van is…..) Het is bepaald niet zo vreemd dat de democraten die niet doen, daar de situatie onder het democratisch bewind van Obama hetzelfde was, ook deze ‘vredesduif’ werkte mee aan die genocidale massamoorden, ofwel enorme oorlogsmisdaden……..

Johnstone wijst ook op de VS of beter gezegd de CIA machinaties in Iran, waar de VS een gewelddadige opstand op poten heeft gezet (het gebruikelijke VS scenario), om zo het huidige bewind ten val te brengen en een VS vriendelijk bewind te vestigen (dat hoeft zelfs niet een democratisch bewind te zijn….)….. De VS heeft zelfs toegeven geld te steken in de (gewelddadige) oppositie en met hen samen te werken….. Je kan er dan ook donder op zeggen dat de VS (CIA) regisseur is van de aanslag, die afgelopen zaterdag plaatsvond op een militaire parade in Iran……..

Medea Benjamin Shows America What Real Resistance Looks Like

Almost immediately after hitting publish on my last article about how the so-called “Resistance” to the Trump administration doesn’t actually resist Trump’s most pernicious agendas in any meaningful way, I saw an awesome video clip proving that there is at least one woman out there providing real opposition to Trump where it matters.
A think tank is an organization wherein highly-paid academics pour their collective brainpower into coming up with convincing arguments that it would be good and smart to do something evil and stupid. At one such think tank, the Hudson Institute, former John Bolton advisor and current Mike Pompeo lackey Brian Hook had his neocon cuddle party interrupted by CodePink activist Medea Benjamin Wednesday morning. Benjamin excoriated the Director of Policy Planning for Pompeo’s Iran Action Team, decrying the Trump administration’s crippling sanctions following its withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal.
“That is the most ridiculous thing I have seen,” Benjamin exclaimed while security staff worked to muscle her off the stage. “The world community wants to keep the Iran nuclear deal. Our allies—the Germans, the French, the British—they want to keep in this deal. The world community wants to keep the deal. Let’s talk about normal countries. Let’s talk about Saudi Arabia. Is that who our allies are? They are the biggest threat to the world community. And let’s talk—you’re hurting me. You’re actually hurting me. I want to ask: Do you think these sanctions are hurting the regime, or are they hurting the Iranian people? They’re hurting the Iranian people. You are making a case for war with Iran. How did the war with Iraq turn out? You’re doing exactly the same thing we did in the case of Iraq. We don’t want another war in the Middle East. Let’s see, how did Iraq turn out? As a reminder, the Trump administration has not only leveled crippling sanctions upon Iran with the goal of fomenting civil unrest, but has also escalated CIA covert operations led by Trump-appointed officials and cultivated an intimate relationship with the MEK terror cult, which is spearheading a social media propaganda campaign against the Iranian government directed at western audiences. The Trump administration’s approach to Iran is in these ways mirroring the Obama administration’s approach to Libya and Syria, and has been called a regime change policy in all but name due to the many unrealistic demands being made of the Iranian government in order to deescalate. These escalations could easily erupt into direct hot war in the future, especially with this administration being stuffed to the gills with virulent Iran hawks at the highest levels.

The Medea Benjamin video is so tasty I’ve watched it several times. It feels like it’s attuning my cells and reminding me what it takes to put up real time resistance in the stifling atmosphere of opposition by breaking through the somnolent hypnosis of tribal dynamics.
This is what it takes. But this is all it takes. Interrupt our regularly scheduled programming with a burst of truth and humanity will inevitably rouse a few more from their hypnosis, and a few more awake is a few more towards tipping point. While Democrats are holding demonstrations in support of longstanding neocon agendas against Russia and leftists are gathering to punch racist nobodies in the face, this feisty little sheila threw her body into the bright lights of the brainwashing machine and jammed it right up until they had to physically remove her.
Are we seeing the heart of the anti-war left kick back into life? I sure fucking hope so. Unlike the impotent busybox of Russiagate, this is the resistance to Trump that is real, and it will work. Attacking the Trump administration on their continuation of Bushbama’s warmongering ecocidal, omnicidal policies and refusing to fall in line with longstanding neocon agendas runs interference on the very lifeblood of the parasitic elite that seek to suck the tax dollars of working Americans into murdering humans and fattening Raytheon profit margins.

Destroying the war machine fixes everything from climate change to living standards, terrorism, famine, homelessness, mental health, slavery, plus all the horrors that war always necessarily births into the world such as rape, black markets, human trafficking, refugee crises and so on. Not to mention the butchery of humans for profit which is what war is. Putting up resistance by breaking the hypnotic effect of war propaganda works. No one actually wants war apart from a handful of powerful elites who fund these think tanks to weave lies and manipulate truth into stories that will manufacture consent for endless military bloodbaths. Simply using the truth to run interference on these lies and spin is enough.

Medea Benjamin is my hero. People are going to tell me that she and her organization haven’t been exactly 100 percent perfect on every single issue every single day, because this is the left and that’s what the left does. But I don’t care; anyone who’s willing to throw a hammer in the gears of the machine to any extent is a hero to whatever extent that they did so. Enough of us doing what Medea Benjamin did would bring the entire machine crashing down.

Hoewel de Trump administratie keer op keer stelt dat de kinderen die van hun ouders werden afgenomen, terug zijn bij hun ouders, blijkt dit ‘evenzovaak’ een leugen te zijn, maar het hieronder opgenomen artikel overgenomen van Greed en eerder gebracht door Sputnik (VS) is eigenlijk nog veel sterker verontrustend…..

Het blijkt dat de VS duizenden kinderen, die zonder hun ouders en papieren de VS binnenkwamen vanuit Mexico en de rest van Midden-Amerika, vasthoudt in wat niet anders kan worden aangeduid dan concentratiekampen…….. Je kan dan ook gerust spreken van een enorme schending van mensen- en kinderrechten….

THOUSANDS OF UNDOCUMENTED CHILDREN KEPT IN ‘MODERN-DAY CONCENTRATION CAMPS’

Immigrant Camps
United States (Sputnik) – Although hundreds of children were previously released to their families after being separated by US federal agents earlier this year, data recently obtained by The New York Times this week revealed that some 12,800 others are still being held in detention centers.
It should be noted that the large amount of detainees isn’t due to an influx in migrant children; rather it’s the result of fewer children being released into the custody of guardians or sponsors.

Juan José Gutiérrez, the executive director of the Full Rights for Immigrants Coalition (FRIC VS), told Radio Sputnik’s Loud & Clear on Thursday that a majority of those being detained are teenagers from Mexico and Central America who traveled unaccompanied.
“These individuals are not being picked up by family, friends or relatives or any kind of sponsor willing to sponsor children, because the [US President] Donald Trump administration is making it harder and harder under this zero tolerance immigration policy for people to step forward and be able to sponsor these children and get them out of detention,” he told hosts Brian Becker and John Kiriakou.
“What we have here is that all these children are being kept in these modern-day concentration camps called immigration shelters,” he added, before noting that owners of the shelters are making a profit off of others’ suffering.”
The Trump administration issued a new rule in June that states sponsors must be fingerprinted in order to have a child released into their care, and that their information has to then be shared with immigration officials.
Children are being kept in dozens of shelters scattered throughout the US as their individual cases travel through the US court system at a snail’s space. On Tuesday, it was reported that a tent city for migrant boys in Tornillo, Texas, would stay open until at least the end of 2019, marking the third time the temporary shelter saw its closure delayed.
Kenneth Wolfe, a Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) spokesperson, told CBS News Tuesday that the compound would be expanding in order to accommodate some 3,800 additional beds. Though the facility originally held some 400 boys when it opened on June 14, 2018, it currently has the means to house 1,200 kids.
“Acknowledging that owners of the private detention camps are lining their pockets with dollar bills, Gutiérrez told Kiriakou that “this is [being done] in the nature of capitalism, the so-called free enterprise system, where you always put profits before people’s rights and their needs.”
“In this case it is profits before the rights of undocumented teenagers,” he said.
Reports surfaced earlier this week that the Trump administration had diverted some $10 million from several agencies, including the US Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), to fund the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency (ICE). This was in addition to the $200 million that the Trump administration redirected from the Department of Homeland Security to ICE over the summer. Of the $200 million, $93 million was allocated for detention centers.

Tyler Durden publiceerde vorige week zaterdag een artikel op Zero Hedge over ‘Russia-gate’, althans hoe men de operatie van de FBI inkleedde om een oud medewerker van die dienst, gevangen gehouden in Iran, vrij te krijgen……

Daarvoor heeft de FBI de Russische oligarch Oleg Deripaska, een figuur die in nauw contact staat met Putin, in de arm genomen en hem gevraagd 25 miljoen dollar beschikbaar te stellen om de oud-FBI agent Robert Levinson vrij te krijgen. Levinson werkte voor de CIA toen hij in 2007 werd gearresteerd in Iran…..
Deripaska, waarvan wordt gezegd dat hij fungeerde als contact tussen Trump en Putin via de voormalige Rusland ‘connector’ Paul Manafort, stelt dat hij van 2009 tot de presidentsverkiezingen van 2016 samenwerkte met de VS regering….
Uiteindelijk ging de operatie niet door daar buitenlandse zaken o.l.v. Hillary Clinton zich haastig terugtrok uit de deal met Iran die erop gericht was Levinson vrij te krijgen…..

Russian Oligarch And Putin Pal Admits To Collusion, Secret Meetings

Russian Oligarch Oleg Deripaska, a close associate of Vladimir Putin, has gone on record with The Hill‘s John Solomon – admitting to colluding with Americans leading up to the 2016 US election, except it might not be what you’re thinking.
Deripaska, rumored to be Donald Trump’s “back channel” to Putin via the Russian’s former association with Paul Manafort, says he “colluded” with the US Government between 2009 and 2016.
In 2009, when Robert Mueller was running the FBI, the agency asked Deripaska to spend $25 million of his own money to bankroll an FBI-supervised operation to rescue a retired FBI agent – Robert Levinson, who was kidnapped in 2007 while working on a 2007 CIA contract in Iran. This in and of itself is more than a bit strange.
Deripaska agreed, however the Obama State Department, headed by Hillary Clinton, scuttled a last-minute deal with Iran before Levinson could be released. He hasn’t been heard from since.

FBI agents courted Deripaska in 2009 in a series of secret hotel meetings in Paris; Vienna; Budapest, Hungary, and Washington. Agents persuaded the aluminum industry magnate to underwrite the mission. The Russian billionaire insisted the operation neither involve nor harm his homeland. -The Hill

In other words – Trump’s alleged “back channel” to Putin was in fact an FBI asset who spent $25 million helping Obama’s “scandal free” administration find a kidnapped agent. Deripaska’s admitted
Steele, Ohr and the 2016 US Election

 As the New York Times frames it, distancing Deripaska from the FBI (no mention of the $25 million rescue effort, for example), the Russian aluminum magnate was just one of several Putin-linked Oligarchs the FBI tried to flip.

The attempt to flip Mr. Deripaska was part of a broader, clandestine American effort to gauge the possibility of gaining cooperation from roughly a half-dozen of Russia’s richest men, nearly all of whom, like Mr. Deripaska, depend on President Vladimir V. Putin to maintain their wealth, the officials said. –NYT

Central to the recruiting effort were two central players in the Trump-Russia investigation; twice-demoted DOJ #4 official Bruce Ohr and Christopher Steele – the author of the largely unverified “Steele Dossier.”
Steele, a longtime associate of Ohr’s, worked for Deripaska beginning in 2012 researching a business rival – work which would evolve to the point where the former British spy was interfacing with the Obama administration on his behalf – resulting in Deripaska regaining entry into the United States, where he visited numerous times between 2009 and 2017.

The State Department tried to keep him from getting a U.S. visa between 2006 and 2009 because they believed he had unspecified connections to criminal elements in Russia as he consolidated power in the aluminum industry. Deripaska has denied those allegations…

Whatever the case, it is irrefutable that after he began helping the FBI, Deripaska regained entry to the United States. And he visited numerous times between 2009 and 2017, visa entry records show. –The Hill

Deripaska is now banned from the United States as one of several Russians sanctioned in April in response to alleged 2016 election meddling.
In a September 2016 meeting, Deripaska told FBI agents that it was “preposterous” that Paul Manafort was colluding with Russia to help Trump win the 2016 election. This, despite the fact that Deripaska and Manafort’s business relationship “ended in lawsuits”, per The Hill – and the Russian would have every reason to throw Manafort under the bus if he wanted some revenge on his old associate.
So the FBI and DOJ secretly collaborated with Trump’s alleged backchannel over a seven-year period, starting with Levinson, then on Deripaska’s Visa, and finally regarding whether Paul Manafort was an intermediary to Putin. Deripaska vehemently denies the assertion, and even took out newspaper advertisements in the US last year volunteering to testify to Congress, refuting an AP report that he and Manafort secretly worked on a plan to “greatly benefit the Putin government” a decade ago.

Soon after the advertisements ran, representatives for the House and Senate Intelligence Committees called a Washington-based lawyer for Mr. Deripaska, Adam Waldman, inquiring about taking his client up on the offer to testify, Mr. Waldman said in an interview.

What happened after that has been in dispute. Mr. Waldman, who stopped working for Mr. Deripaska after the sanctions were levied, said he told the committee staff that his client would be willing to testify without any grant of immunity, but would not testify about any Russian collusion with the Trump campaign because “he doesn’t know anything about that theory and actually doesn’t believe it occurred.” –NYT

In short, Deripaska wants it known that he worked with the FBI and DOJ, and that he had nothing to do with the Steele dossier.

Today, Deripaska is banned anew from the United States, one of several Russians sanctioned in April by the Trump administration as a way to punish Putin for 2016 election meddling. But he wants to be clear about a few things, according to a statement provided by his team. First, he did collude with Americans in the form of voluntarily assisting and meeting with the FBI, the DOJ and people such as Ohr between 2009 and 2016.

He also wants Americans to know he did not cooperate or assist with Steele’s dossier, and he tried to dispel the FBI notion that Russia and the Trump campaign colluded during the 2016 election. –The Hill

Interestingly, Steele’s dossier which was partially funded by the Clinton campaign, relied on senior Kremlin officials.
It would be most helpful if the Department of Justice could please investigate and then prosecute themselves and/or members of the previous administration, so that journalists like John Solomon, Sara Carter, Luke Rosiak, Chuck Ross and others don’t have to continue to break stories that are seemingly ignored by all but a handful of Congressional investigators.

Colin Kaepernick, de ‘American’ football speler, werd uitgekotst nadat hij volkomen terecht uit protest tegen het grote aantal moorden door de politie in de VS op gekleurde VS burgers*, knielde tijdens het volkslied i.p.v. te staan met de hand op het hart. (ha! ha! ha! ha!) Gekleurde burgers die jaarlijks (veelal) zonder enige reden worden doodgeschoten door de politie…… E.e.a. ingegeven door de Black Lives Matter (BLM) beweging, die zich het lot van de zwarte bevolking in de VS aantrekt.

Staan met de hand op het hart voor het belachelijke volkslied van de VS, onderdeel van ceremonies die een genocide op de oorspronkelijke bewoners moet verdoezelen en er bij de kinderen al instampt dat de VS het door god gegeven land (aan de import burgers) is………

Vanmorgen bracht BNR dit nieuws, waarin o.a. werd gemeld dat hysterische nationalistische burgers op grote schaal hun Nike schoenen hebben verbrand (de kwalificaties zijn van mijn hand, zoals je waarschijnlijk al had begrepen)…… Ofwel een fiks deel van de VS bevolking maakt zich net als de president, het beest Trump, druk om het knielen voor het volkslied**, terwijl ze zich niet eens druk maken over de jaarlijkse massamoord op hun gekleurde medeburgers……..
Kaepernick stond al lang onder contract bij Nike, al deed Nike daar na alle consternatie niets mee, Kaepernick werd overigens gewoon doorbetaald door het bedrijf. Wel heeft het bedrijf laten weten het recht van vrijheid op meningsuiting te respecteren, daarmee gaf het bedrijf in feite aan dat het achter Kaepernick en zijn collega’s die zijn voorbeeld volgden staat.
Het is dan ook een geweldige stap van Nike om nu een reclame campagne te starten met Kaeperick ‘in de hoofdrol.’

Colin Kaepernick, the former N.F.L. quarterback who inspired a player protest movement but who has been out of a job for more than a year, has signed a new, multiyear deal with Nike that makes him a face of the 30th anniversary of the sports apparel company’s “Just Do It” campaign, Nike confirmed on Monday.
The first advertisement from Nike, one of the league’s top partners, debuted Monday afternoon, when Kaepernick tweeted it, assuring that his activism and the protest movement against racism and social injustice he started would continue to loom over one of the country’s most powerful sports leagues.
Nike will produce new Kaepernick apparel, including a shoe and a T-shirt, and if the merchandise sells well, the value of the deal will rival those of other top N.F.L. players, according to people close to the negotiations who spoke on condition of anonymity because Nike had not formally announced it. Nike will also donate money to Kaepernick’s “Know Your Rights” campaign.
The N.F.L. did not immediately respond to requests for comment. The ad and the campaign, coming a few days before the start of the N.F.L. season on Thursday, is likely to annoy the league’s top executives and its owners. On Thursday, Kaepernick won a victory in his grievance against the league when an arbitrator let his case, in which he accuses the league of conspiring to keep him off the field because of his activism, advance.
A wave of on-field protests has continued, with varying degrees of intensity, since summer 2016, when Kaepernick began kneeling during the playing of the national anthem.
The N.F.L. has struggled to contain the on-field protests, which have also included raised fists and other gestures, which league officials have blamed for dragging down the league. Television ratings have declined and certain segments of the fan base have reacted angrily. President Trump has made the N.F.L. a target for not firing players who refuse to stand for the national anthem.
The Kaepernick deal could be awkward for the league.
In March, Nike and the N.F.L. announced an extension of an apparel deal through 2028. As part of that deal, Nike supplies 32 teams with game-day uniforms and sideline apparel that features the company’s swoosh logo. When that deal was announced, Brian Rolapp, the NFL’s chief media and business officer, called the company “a longtime and trusted partner” of the league.
Kaepernick and Nike already had an endorsement deal, dating to when he entered the league in 2011, but it was expiring soon and has now been extended.
The new Kaepernick ad features a close-up, black-and-white photograph of his face, with copy that references his kneeling and his belief that his activism is keeping him out of the league.
The ad reads: “Believe in something. Even if it means sacrificing everything.”
When asked if Nike had run the campaign by the N.F.L., a spokeswoman, Sandra Carreon-John, responded: “Nike has a longstanding relationship with the N.F.L. and works extensively with the league on all campaigns that use current N.F.L. players and its marks. Colin is not currently employed by an N.F.L. team and has no contractual obligation to the N.F.L.”
The new contract was negotiated by Kaepernick’s lawyers, Mark Geragos and Ben Meiselas, and Nike executives.
Even as the N.F.L. season approaches, the Kaepernick story has continued to dominate the N.F.L. narrative. On Friday, Kaepernick received an ovation from the crowd at the United States Open match between Serena Williams and Venus Williams.
Serena Williams, LeBron James, Odell Beckham Jr., Shaquem Griffin and Lacey Baker are also part of the “Just Do It” anniversary campaign.
Nike’s decision to make new Kaepernick merchandise and to make him the face of a campaign could, if they are successful for the company, undercut the argument from N.F.L. owners that he is bad for business. Previously, Nike stated that it “supports athletes and their right to freedom of expression on issues that are of great importance to our society,” but the company had not used Kaepernick in any recent ad campaigns.
There is reason to believe that Kaepernick, despite not playing, will move merchandise. During the second quarter of 2017, his officially licensed jersey was the 39th-best selling in the league. As an unsigned free agent, he was the only player in the top 50 of those rankings not signed to a team.
With Kaepernick seemingly having little chance of playing in the N.F.L. again, Geragos was eager to try to portray him as something more than a football player.

“I give Nike credit for understanding that he’s not just an athlete, he has become an icon,” Geragos said.

BBC: gekleurde berichtgeving over handelsoorlog Trump – Erdogan

‘De zoveelste bombastische reactie van Erdogan op de verhoging van de importtarieven op staal en aluminium uit Turkije’ en ‘de Turken zijn bevreesd voor de reactie van Trump, die er niet van houdt te worden geprovoceerd….’ Zo luidde het commentaar in het BBC World Service nieuws van 14.00 u. vanmiddag…..

Een en ander n.a.v. de importbeperkingen die Erdogan op elektronica uit de VS legt, waar m.n. de mobiele telefoons van Apple het moeten ontgelden, dit in reactie op de hiervoor genoemde importbeperkingen op Turks staal en aluminium…..

Erdogan kan wat mij betreft niet snel genoeg terechtstaan voor het meer dan lamme Internationaal Strafhof (ICC), maar een dergelijke manier van spreken is een gotspe, wie provoceerde wie in eerste instantie??? (en wie spreekt er meer bombastisch, Trump of Erdogan??)

Ach, hiermee maakt de BBC nogmaals duidelijk dat het niet alleen pal achter het voor het grote arme deel van GB desastreuze beleid van de regering May staat, maar er ook niet vies van is om de VS een veer in de smerige imperialistische reet te steken en dat zelfs doet door feiten weg te laten uit haar berichtgeving……

De BBC boogt er nog steeds op onafhankelijk te zijn, echter dat is een heel grote en smerige leugen, waar deze zendgemachtigde dagelijks wereldwijd miljoenen kijkers en luisteraars voorliegt dan wel de waarheid voor hen verdraait (zoals het voorbeeld hierboven)….

Het meest lullige is wel dat men bij de BBC de vuilbek vol heeft over ‘fake news’ (‘nepnieuws’), terwijl het zelf een groot leverancier is van dit ‘fake news’, neem de berichtgeving over de door de Britten gesteunde genocide in Jemen, of de illegale oorlogen van de VS tegen Afghanistan, Irak, Libië, Oekraïne en Syrië……. Uiteraard is de berichtgeving over de handelsoorlog tussen de VS en Turkije de opmaat voor nog veel meer ‘fake news…..’

Overigens zouden ook Trump en de duivels die hem omringen, terecht moeten staan voor het Internationaal Strafhof, alleen al vanwege de voortdurende massamoorden die de VS pleegt in illegale oorlogen, of vanwege de VS drone aanvallen waarbij verdachten standrechtelijk worden vermoord en meer dan 90% van de slachtoffers niet eens verdacht was (veelal vrouwen en kinderen…..)……

CounterPunch bracht afgelopen vrijdag een door Paul Street geschreven artikel over Jemen en het verschil in verontwaardiging en ondernomen acties tegen het scheiden van vluchtelingen en hun kinderen door de VS overheid…. Kinderen die families meenamen op hun vlucht voor een in een groot aantal gevallen geweld dat op de één of andere manier is verbonden met de grootste terreurentiteit op aarde >> de VS…. Dit afgezet tegen de ontbrekende aandacht voor het grote aantal kinderen dat al is omgekomen bij de door de VS en GB gesteunde genocide van de Saoedische coalitie op de sjiitische bevolking van Jemen……..

Ongelofelijk dat men wel terecht flink pissig wordt over het afnemen van kinderen van hun ouders door de overheid van de VS, die deze kinderen heeft ontvoerd; terwijl men wegkijkt van een genocide aan de andere kant van de aarde, waar NB de VS meehelpt aan en de regie voert over een genocide, die volgens Save the Children alleen in 2017 al naar schatting aan zo’n 50.000 kinderen het leven moet hebben gekost…….. (ofwel vermoord door de Saoedische coalitie, de VS en Groot-Brittannië, de laatste heeft als de VS ook een fikse steen bijgedragen aan de massamoord in Jemen….)

Overigens schunnig ook dat de EU en Nederland nog steeds goede banden onderhouden met de (terroristische) reli-fascistische dictatuur van Saoedi-Arabië, om als Nederlander je ogen voor uit je hoofd te schamen……

No Liberal Rallies Yet for the Children of Yemen

Hundreds of thousands of people showed up across the United States at more than 600 gatherings three weeks ago. They came out to protest Donald Trump‘s “zero tolerance” immigration policy in highly choreographed, Democratic Party-affiliated “Families Belong Together” rallies and marches. Liberal celebrities marched and spoke. Local, state, and federal Democratic Party politicians and office-holders gave passionate speeches denouncing Trump’s separation of Central American migrant children from their parents at the southern U.S. border.
Marchers carried signs expressing their concern for children and families. Here are some of the messages written on the posters displayed at these gatherings:
“We care”
“I Raise my Voice Not so I can Shout but So that Those Without a Voice Can be Heard”
“Do All Lives Still Matter?”
“What Would Mr. Rogers Say?”
“Compassion”
(The issue that sparked this remarkable outpouring has already been pushed off the front pages and the cable news headlines by the resurgent RussiaGate story, brought to new intensity by Trump’s “spectacular debacle” alongside Vladimir Putin in Helsinki, Finland. It is a victim of the all-powerful “now we see you, now we don’t” U.S. news cycle – this even as nearly two-thirds of the migrant children criminally separated have yet to be reunited with their parents and as evidence emerges that the Trump administration intended for the family separations to be permanent.)

“Emaciated Babies”: 50,000 Yemeni Children May Have Died in 2017
We have yet to learn of any large and widespread U.S. demonstrations on behalf of the children and families of Yemen, where the U.S. is deeply complicit in the creation of a situation that “looks,” in the words of the United Nations’ humanitarian chief, “like the Apocalypse.” UNICEF reported last year that a child dies from preventable causes on the average of once every 10 minutes in Yemen.
As the Associated Press (AP) reported last May, roughly 3 million Yemeni women and children are “acutely malnourished; another 400,000 children are fighting for their lives.” Further:

“Nearly a third of Yemen’s population — 8.4 million of its 29 million people — rely completely on food aid or else they would starve. That number grew by a quarter over the past year…Aid agencies warn that parts of Yemen could soon start to see widespread death from famine. More and more people are reliant on aid that is already failing to reach people. …It is unknown how many have died, since authorities are not able to track cases. Save the Children late last year estimated that 50,000 children may have died in 2017 of extreme hunger or disease (emphasis added), given that up to 30 percent of children with untreated cases of severe acute malnutrition die.”

The AP told the heartbreaking story of Umm Mizrah and her children, tragic drops in the bucket of what could become one of the biggest humanitarian catastrophes of the last half-century:

“The young mother stepped onto the scale for the doctor. Even with all her black robes on, she weighed only 84 pounds …The doctor’s office is covered with dozens of pictures of emaciated babies who have come through Al-Sadaqa Hospital in Aden …Mothers like Umm Mizrah…skip meals, sleep to escape the gnawing in their stomachs. They hide bony faces and emaciated bodies in voluminous black abaya robes and veils…The doctor asked the mother to get back on the scale holding her son, Mizrah. At 17 months, he was 5.8 kilograms (12.8 pounds) — around half the normal weight for his age. He showed all the signs of ‘severe acute malnutrition,’ the most dire stage of hunger. His legs and feet were swollen, he wasn’t getting enough protein. When the doctor pressed a finger into the skin of his feet, the indentation lingered.”

Things have gotten worse in the last two and half months. According to Lisa Grande, head of the UN humanitarian effort in Yemen, “8.5 million people that we describe as being pre-famine… when they wake up in the morning, they have no idea if they will eat that day…by the end of this year, another 10 million Yemenis will be in that situation.”
Two and a half weeks ago, special PBS correspondent Jane Ferguson related the plight of Maimona Shaghadar, who “suffers the agony of starvation in silence. No longer able to walk or talk, at 11 years old, little Maimona’s emaciated body weighs just 24 pounds…Every day,” a nurse told Ferguson in a remote Yemen hospital, medical personnel “see these sorts of cases.”
Cholera, a prominent 19th-century disease, has become epidemic there, thanks to the collapse of water sanitation. Cholera has already killed thousands of Yemeni civilians, children especially, and a million Yemenis are currently infected. Yemen is now home to what Ferguson calls “the worst cholera outbreak in modern history. Now every time the rains comes, people fall ill.”
“American Made”

The cause? In “mainstream” U.S. media, the Yemeni children and families suffering this near “apocalypse” are victims of a three-year-old war between Yemen’s Iran-backed Shiite Houthi rebels who hold the country’s north, and a Saudi Arabian-led coalition, armed and backed by the United States. But there is little evidence of significant Iranian involvement in Yemen. The desperately poor nation’s “civil war” is a remarkably one-sided affair in which the world’s only Superpower (the United States) has been providing critical support for what amounts to the crucifixion of millions of innocent children and families. Combined with a vicious economic blockade, the US-Saudi coalition’s relentless bombing campaign has collapsed Yemen’s economy, leaving two-thirds of the population to depend outside on food aid for survival. The air onslaughts have devastated much of Yemen’s basic infrastructure so that more than half the population lacks access to safe drinking water – the key cause of the cholera epidemic. In a recent trip deep into Yemen’s countryside, Ferguson found a Doctors Without Borders cholera treatment center that had been crushed into rubble by a U.S.-Saudi airstrike the day before – an obvious war crime. “It was just about to open its doors to patients,” Ferguson reports.
Ferguson spoke to Dr. Ali Al Motaa, a Yemeni college professor who did his doctorate in the US. “The missiles that kill us,” Motaa said, “American-made. The planes that kill us, American-made. The tanks, Abrams, American-made. You are saying to me, where is America? America is the whole thing.”
By Ferguson’s account, from deep inside rebel-controlled territory:

“The aerial bombing campaign has not managed to dislodge the rebels, but has hit weddings, hospitals and homes. The U.S. military supports the Saudi coalition with logistics and intelligence. The United States it also sells the Saudis and coalition partners many of the bombs they drop on Yemen. In the mountains outside the capital, we gained exclusive access to the site where the Houthis store unexploded American-made bombs, like this 2000-pound Mark 84 bomb made in Garland, Texas. It landed in the middle of the street in the capital, we are told.”

That was before he U.S.-Saudi forces, with the Trump administration’s approval, decided to launch an offensive against the Red Sea port city of Hodeidah, through which almost all the food and medicine coming into Houthi-held Yemen passes. As Al Jazeera reported three days ago, the UN is warning that “the humanitarian crisis in Yemen is worsening as tens of thousands of families are displaced by the Saudi-UAE coalition offensive to retake the strategic port city….the relentless air raids and lack of aid are making an already dire humanitarian crisis even worse for the civilians who live in the region….tens of thousands of families have been displaced from Hodeidah as a result of the fierce fighting.
The U.S. is involved in direct as well as indirect assault on Yemen. Yemen was home to the first known U.S. drone attack outside Afghanistan in 2002. Hundreds of U.S. drone and other airstrikes have targeted Yemen since 2009.

Trump drew his first military blood in Yemen. U.S. Navy special forces carried out a raid—planned by the Obama administration and handed off to the incoming Trump team—that killed 25 civilians, including 10 children in the mountainous Yakla region of Yemen’s Al Bayda province. One of the children killed was an 8-year-old girl, Nawar al-Awlaki, daughter of the Islamist preacher Anwar al-Awlaki, who was killed on Barack Obama’s orders in a September 2011 U.S. drone strike in Yemen. Nawar’s older brother, 16-year-old Abdulrahman, was killed in a second Obama-commanded drone strike soon afterward.
Trump’s continuation of the U.S. slaughter of al-Awlaki’s children was consistent with his campaign claim that he would kill the relatives of terrorist suspects—a war crime. “The other thing with the terrorists is you have to take out their families; when you get these terrorists, you have to take out their families,” Trump pronounced on Fox News in December 2015.
A PBS NewsHour report earlier this month describes the Yemen tragedy as a “man-made” catastrophe. A more historically specific characterization would be “Empire-made” or “Washington-made.” As Bill Van Auken accurately reported on the World Socialist Web Site five weeks ago:

“This total war against an entire population…would be impossible without the uninterrupted support—military and political—of US imperialism since its outset…The US, together with its main NATO allies the UK and France, has supplied the planes, warships, bombs, missiles and shells used to devastate Yemen and slaughter its people. In his eight years in office, President Barack Obama presided over some $115 billion in arms sales to the monarchical dictatorship in Riyadh. The Trump administration, which has sought to forge an anti-Iran axis with Saudi Arabia, the other reactionary Gulf oil sheikhdoms and Israel, has touted arms deals with Riyadh that potentially would amount to $110 billion.”

“The Pentagon has given direct and indispensable aid to the Saudi-led onslaught, providing midair refueling for the planes that bomb Yemeni civilians, staffing a joint command center in Riyadh with US intelligence and logistics officers and reinforcing the Saudi-UAE blockade of the country with American warships. Recently, US Green Berets have been deployed with Saudi ground forces to assist in their anti-Yemen operations. Under the banner of the ‘war on terror,’ the Pentagon is waging its own air war in Yemen, conducting at least 130 air and drone strikes in 2017, quadruple the number in 2016…The Trump administration gave the go-ahead for the current siege of Hodeidah Pentagon officials have reported that US officers are helping to select targets in the port city.”
Historical Continuities

 The Trump administration’s funding and equipping of the savage war on Yemen shares three key characteristics with the “zero tolerance” immigration policy that Trump was recently forced to (partially and haltingly) rescind. First, it unconscionably uses innocent children and families as hostages and pawns in the advance of White House policy goals.
Second, it is richly consistent with U.S. policy stretching far back in history (see this on the long U.S. record of family separation and thison the long U.S. history of directly and indirectly attacking and killing children and other civilians in foreign nations).
Third, it is consistent with Barack Obama’s record. The Obama administration backed the Saudi-led Arab assault on Yemen. It also (as few marching against Trump’s border policy seem to know or care) responded to Central American migration and asylum-seeking with a policy of aggressive deterrence and detention – a policy that included the caging of children.
Why No Mass Marches for Yemeni Children?

Clearly the murder of tens of thousands of (Yemeni) children is a bigger crime than the undoubted transgression of traumatically if (hopefully temporarily) separating 2300 Central American children form their migrant parents. Why don’t hundreds of thousands of U.S.-Americans march on behalf of Yemeni children and families killed, maimed, starved, sickened, and otherwise placed at grave risk by Washington and its Arab allies?
Differences of geographical proximity and familiarity are part of the explanation. Equally if not more significant: the dominant U.S media’s systematic under-reporting of U.S, imperial aggression in the Middle East; that media’s portrayal of is the Yemen war as a regional Sunni-Shia and Saudi-Iranian conflict in which the U.S. is only peripherally involved; the Yemeni victims’ status as Muslim Others who are linked in the dominant U.S. media and politics culture with the officially U.S,- and Israel-demonized state of Iran (a nation that all too unmentionably looks like a model of democracy, social justice, and women’s rights in comparison to its regional arch-enemy and Washington’s “good friend” the absolutist and arch-reactionary state of Saudi Arabia). For these and other reasons, the Democratic Party establishment sees no political advantage in confronting Trump on U.S. Yemen policy, a policy in which both reigning U.S. political parties are deeply complicit.

Putin en Trump halen spanning uit de lucht >> de westerse wereld schreeuwt moord en brand……

Mensen, hoe is het mogelijk dat men in de westerse wereld moord en brand schreeuwt, daar Putin en Trump de spanningen tussen Rusland en de VS uit de lucht proberen te halen…??

Wil men zo graag oorlog, of een voortbestaan van de koude oorlog, zaken waar werkelijk niemand beter van wordt??

Op Radio1, BNR, VRT (radio) 1, WDR en BBC vanmorgen de ene na de andere oorlogshitser, die schande sprak van de ontmoeting tussen Putin en Trump……. Deze reguliere media die het woord complottheorie te onpas en te onpas gebruiken, hebben nu geen moeite de ene na de andere samenzweringstheorie te lanceren, zo zou Putin Trump in de hand hebben, zou Putin een geheim van Trump weten en hem daarmee chanteren, om er een paar te noemen….

Uiteraard haalt men alle fake news (nepnieuws) van stal: de Russen zouden voor de winst van Trump tijdens de VS presidentsverkiezingen hebben gezorgd, middels het hacken van computers en documenten te lekken….. Niet dat daar ook maar één bewijs voor is geleverd, ook voor de laatste beschuldigingen van Mueller aan het adres van de Russen, is niet een flinter van bewijs gegeven….. (en dat zal zo blijven) Een correspondent van WDR durfde zelfs te beweren dat hij een stapel aan bewijzen had gezien voor de beschuldigingen van Mueller aan het adres van 12 Russische inlichtingenofficieren, als zouden zij de computer van Podesto, de rechterhand van Clinton tijdens de verkiezingscampagne, hebben gehackt……. Dit terwijl ook deze ‘bewijzen’ niet openbaar kunnen worden gemaakt, daar ze anders ‘een gevaar voor de VS staatsveiligheid’ zouden vormen…… ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha!

Scala is een programma op WDR 5 en in dat programma werd een goed uur geleden door een presentator gezegd dat Trump Putin gelooft met diens bewering dat Rusland geen hand had in de manipulatie van de VS presidentsverkiezingen, de presentator deed dit op een smalende manier, daar Putin dit gezegd zou hebben, terwijl voor deze zaak zoals gezegd geen flinter bewijs ligt…… Als deze presentator z’n werk had gedaan, had hij zelf deze conclusie kunnen trekken…. Ook de annexatie van De Krim werd door deze presentator gehekeld, terwijl het volk van De Krim, in een door internationale waarnemers als eerlijk en goed beoordeeld referendum besloot zich aan te sluiten bij Rusland en niet langer te willen leven onder de corrupte neonazi-junta van Porosjenko, een junta die één op één door de VS in het zadel werd geholpen……

De reguliere westerse media en het grootste deel van westerse politici hebben geen moeite met een illegale oorlog meer of minder aangegaan door de VS, sterker nog men verdedigt zelfs de leugens die de VS gebruikt om een land naar god te bombarderen…….

Vanmorgen na 9.30 u. op Radio1, hare kwaadaardigheid Salemon, naast alle leugens over Rusland stelde ze dat het economisch slecht gaat met Rusland, terwijl Rusland het ene contract na het andere afsluit met niet-westerse landen en het ondanks de westerse sancties economisch redelijk goed gaat met Rusland…. Dat laatste, het afsluiten van overeenkomsten en contracten met niet westerse landen en de grote bedrijven daar, is ook van toepassing op het volgende wat Salemon aan haar woorden toevoegde: Putin is geïsoleerd…… ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Tja dat krijg je als je het westen als heel de wereld ziet! (jezus!) Ook zwetskop en grofgraaier Charles Groenhuijsen mocht heel dapper laten horen wat hij aan kronkels in de kop heeft als het om Rusland, Putin of Trump gaat…..

Op BNR was vanmorgen na 8.30 u. VS ‘deskundige’ Diederik Brink te horen, deze huis, tuin en keukenpsycholoog stelde dat Trump maar slapjes stond naast Putin en zo stelde Brink, het lijkt erop dat hij werkelijk gelooft op eigen kracht in het Witte Huis te zijn gekomen…… ha! ha! ha! ha! Zie het voorgaande, bovendien is de smerige campagne die Clinton voerde de oorzaak voor haar verlies, een smerige campagne die men in de schoenen van de Russen wil schuiven, nogmaals: zonder dat er ook maar een flinter aan bewijs werd geleverd……. Terwijl er een fiks aantal documenten liggen, die duidelijk maken dat er vanuit de DNC is gelekt naar de pers, daar er nog een paar medewerkers waren die het niet eens waren met het smerige spel van Clinton……

Voor het tegenovergestelde, dus dat de VS elders: -verkiezingen manipuleert (ook middels hacken, zie Vault 7 en 8 documenten op WikiLeaks), -opstanden organiseert, -staatsgrepen regisseert dan wel uitvoert, -verdachten en niet verdachten massaal vermoordt middels drones, -met geheime CIA/leger acties, een groot aantal mensen vermoordt en -illegale oorlogen begint, liggen er wel een enorm aantal bewijzen (veelal officiële documenten van de VS en alweer >> vaak te vinden op WikiLeaks…)….

Brink was één van de figuren die beweerde dat Rusland waarschijnlijk zaken van Trump weet waarmee het Trump onder druk zou hebben gezet……. Volgens Brink komen er in de VS dagelijks schandalen bij, waaronder hij ook de lariekoek van Mueller verstaat……

Overbodig te melden dat men vanmorgen tijdens deze anti-Russische propaganda keer op keer vlucht MH17 aanhaalde, terwijl het hele onderzoek naar het neerhalen van MH17 een farce is >> ondanks alle belachelijke beschuldigingen aan het adres van Rusland, liggen er meer dan voldoende bewijzen die in de richting van de VS en Oekraïne wijzen……

Om een paar zaken te noemen: waarom week vlucht MH17 op 17 juli 2014 van het normale ‘vliegpad’ af en vloog men over oorlogsgebied? Hoe is het mogelijk dat een land al haar radarposten op dezelfde dag uitschakelt, zoals Oekraïne op 17 juli 2014 heeft gedaan, vandaag precies 4 jaar geleden? Wie had er belang bij het neerhalen van MH17? (Niet Rusland noch de opstandelingen tegen de Oekraïense dictatuur) Waarom mocht Maleisië niet meewerken aan het onderzoek, omdat het ‘de Rusland is schuldig doctrine’ niet geloofde? Nogmaals: mensen hoe is het mogelijk dat men de kans op ontspanning verfoeit in het westen, niet alleen door de reguliere media, maar ook door het grootste deel van de politici…? Wil men zo graag een echte oorlog met Rusland…?

Bij deze wil ik de nabestaanden van de slachtoffers die door de MH17 ramp te betreuren zijn, deze dag sterkte wensen.

NAVO defensie uitgaven naar 4% van BBP? Het merendeel van de Duitsers wil de VS militairen hun land uit!

De psychopaat Trump heeft ‘t voor elkaar gekregen, de NAVO lidstaten stemden min of meer in met zijn nieuwe eis (althans men ‘durfde’, of beter gezegd men wilde daar niets tegen inbrengen), dat de leden minstens 4% van het bruto binnenlands product (BBP) moeten uitgeven aan defensie uh oorlogsvoering. Merkel die nogal werd geschoffeerd door Trump zou schoorvoetend akkoord zijn gegaan met de 4% eis van Trump…… (al zal het nog vele jaren duren voordat het zover is, een tijdstip waarop Merkel al lang afgeserveerd zal zijn als premier…)

 De VS is momenteel minstens in 4 oorlogen verwikkeld, heeft meer dan 800 bases over de wereld, vermoord verdachten middels een groot aantal drone aanvallen (waarbij meer dan 90% van de slachtoffers niet eens verdacht is), is doende met een ruimteschild en heeft bovendien een paar raketbases in Oost-Europa en Oost-Azië gebouwd….. Waarom zouden we ons daar in godsnaam mee moeten meten? Wat is dit voor kul? De politici en media die je vertellen dat wij meer moeten uitgeven aan defensie weten dit dondersgoed, kortom je wordt belazerd waar je bij staat*!

Uit onderzoek blijkt nu dat een meerderheid van de Duitse bevolking de zogenaamde Amerikanen in het land, maar liefst al meer dan 73 jaar aanwezig met nu naar schatting (!!) rond de 35.000 militairen, als de bliksem terugkeren naar hun eigen land. Daar zou ik me graag bij aansluiten vandaar dit cliché: Yankee go home! (and never return!)
Whitney Webb, de schrijver van het hieronder opgenomen artikel stelt dat er bijna 35.000 VS militairen in Duitsland zijn. Echter dat is maar zeer de vraag, daar het Pentagon daar geen uitspreken meer over wenst te doen en als men het daar nodig acht, zelfs zonder inmenging van de Trump administratie en controle van de senaat plus het huis van afgevaardigden, naar eigen goeddunken extra militairen mag inzetten waar men het nodig acht…….
Trump zou verbaasd zijn geweest over het grote aantal militairen in Duitsland en overwogen hebben een groot aantal van hen terug te roepen….. Echter dat is zeer tegen de wil van het Pentagon en Webb vermoedt dan ook dat dit een strategie is van Trump om druk op de ketel te houden….. Lullig dan voor Merkel en haar regering dat de meerderheid van de Duitsers tegen aanwezigheid van de VS militairen in eigen land is en een meerderheid van de Duitsers zelfs tegen verdere verhogingen van de budgetten voor het militarisme is, militarisme dat de laatste 17 jaar weer in volle stinkende glorie is hersteld, met in het Midden-Oosten de vreselijke massamoorden van dien: deze eeuw al meer dan 2 miljoen vermoorde slachtoffers door de grootscheepse VS terreur……..

4% van het BBP zodat Trump mooi het dodelijk speelgoed van zijn wapenindustrie kan slijten aan leeghoofdige NAVO lidstaten, zoals Nederland, dat zo tuk is op de EU, vervolgens geen EU straaljager kocht, maar er één uit de VS aanschafte >> de JSF…… De JSF van Lockheed Martin mag volgens de huidige maatstaven niet eens straaljager genoemd worden, daar de JSF (of F-35 Lightning II, kortweg F-35) niet voldoet aan de normen daarvoor….. Zo stijgt, klimt en rent dit peperdure onding niet snel genoeg, het kan zich nog net meten met de A-10 Thunderbolt uit de 70er jaren…… Rusland heeft het stealth systeem van het straalvliegtuig gekraakt en de Chinezen hebben een paar jaar geleden al een blauwdruk van dit onding weten te bemachtigen…… Tot slot: de JSF kan niet gebruikt worden als de VS het niet eens is met het doel voor de inzet, het Pentagon kan beslissen op afstand de toestellen aan de grond te houden……. Degenen die voor de JSF hebben gelobbyd en dan bedoel ik de politici (van VVD, CDA, PvdA, D66 en ‘Christen’Unie) en legertop zouden strafrechtelijk vervolgd moeten worden voor het misleiden van het volk en het in een diepe donkere put donderen van miljarden aan belastinggeld……. (en maar zeiken om meer geld voor ‘defensie….’) Overigens is het wel zeker dat deze lobbyisten t.z.t. beloond zullen worden, even wachten tot men uit de ‘publieke kijker’ is (dus een paar jaar na de militaire of politieke loopbaan), ofwel hier is ook nog eens sprake van omkoping ofwel corruptie…..

Germans Actually Want US Troops to Get the Hell Out of Their Country

(MPN) — After over 70 years, Germans have apparently had enough of the U.S. troop presence in their country, the second largest presence of U.S. troops abroad after Japan. According to a YouGov poll conducted by Germany’s DPA news agency, 42% of Germans support a complete withdrawal of U.S. troops in the country with 37% of Germany wanting them to stay and 21% undecided. Currently, Germany hosts close to 35,000 U.S. soldiers and between 30 and 40 U.S. military bases.
The poll also found that support for withdrawal came from across the German political spectrum.
For instance, 67% of voters from the left-wing Die Linke party were found to support a U.S. troop withdrawal while 55% of the far-right, nationalist AfD party also expressed support for their removal. The Green party of Germany also backed withdrawal by 48%. Support was lowest among voters of the CDU party, the political party of German Chancellor Angela Merkel, at 35%.
Other findings from the poll show that there is little popular support among Germans for militarism in general, but particularly U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent demand that NATO members such as Germany work to increase their military spending to a new target of 4% of national GDP. Some German political analysts have asserted that Trump’s demand is aimed at increasing European purchases of U.S.-manufactured weapons systems.
On this point, however, the poll found that only 15% of Germans support increasing military spending to just 2% of GDP. Furthermore, 36% of Germans feel that the country already spends too much on military spending. Yet, despite the lack of support for increasing military spending among Germans, Merkel stated on Thursday that, after a “very fundamental” discussion during the recent and “very intense” NATO summit, Germany must spend more on NATO defense.
Even though he has pushed Germany and other NATO countries to push for increased military spending despite a lack of popular support, Trump could still prove an unlikely ally for Germans eager to see at least a reduction in the number of U.S. troops stationed throughout the country.
Indeed, just two weeks ago, Trump was allegedly very surprised to learn the high number of American soldiers stationed in Germany. According to a report in the Washington Post, Trump’s surprise prompted him to ask the Department of Defense to analyze the feasibility of conducting a large-scale withdrawal or transfer of the U.S. troop presence stationed in Germany.
However, U.S. government officials have seemed to have talked Trump out of actually taking action on a withdrawal of troops from Germany. Notably, U.S. military officials, such as retired Lt. Gen. Ben Hodges who commanded U.S. Army Europe until late last year, have asserted that any reduction in the U.S. military presence in Germany would be a “colossal mistake.” Hodges further claimed that Russia, particularly Russian President Vladimir Putin, would emerge the “big winner” and that any reduction of the American military presence in Germany would “embolden Russia in terms of its adventurist, intimidating foreign policy.” In an interview with Stars and Stripes, he also expressed confidence that Trump’s suggestion of a troop withdrawal was just a negotiating tactic and that “Pentagon planners would agree to keep troop levels in Germany on the current scale.”
