Trump laat NAVO lidstaten volkomen overbodig ‘bibberen van angst’ over defensie uitgaven

Het beest Trump kwam gisteravond aan in Brussel, waar hij een tweedaagse NAVO top zal bijwonen. De NAVO lidstaten die terecht hun defensie uitgaven terugschroefden doen net alsof ze bibberen voor de harde woorden die Trump zal uitspreken over de veel te lage defensie (lees: oorlogs-) uitgaven van de meeste NAVO lidstaten…..

‘Doen net’, daar deze NAVO lidstaten dondersgoed weten dat de woorden van Trump op wel 20 manieren kunnen worden doorgeprikt als volkomen onzinnig……. Dat bibberen van angst wordt vooral ingegeven door de reguliere media, die zich ook in deze als trouwe lobbyisten gedragen van de VS, de NAVO en het militair-industrieel complex…..

Te lage uitgaven aan oorlog? Allesbehalve, zo geven Groot-Brittannië, Frankrijk, Duitsland en Italië samen al meer dan 3 keer zoveel uit aan ‘defensie’ dan Rusland, volgens de psychopathische Trump administratie één van haar grootste vijanden…..

Dan de enorme kapitalen aan defensie uitgaven oorlogsuitgaven, die jaarlijks in een diep donker gat verdwijnen, zonder dat iemand weet waar het geld aan werd uitgegeven, het gaat in de VS jaarlijks om vele miljarden aan dollars…..

Verder geeft de VS kapitalen uit aan de vernieuwing van haar kernwapens en een ‘ruimteschild’, een schild waarmee men op den duur ook doelen in de ruimte en op aarde wil kunnen treffen, zoals het raketschild van de VS in Oost-Europa in een mum van tijd kan worden omgetoverd in een raketbasis voor aanvallen met kernwapens en dat dicht op de Russische grens…….

Ook heeft de VS dik meer dan 800 militaire bases over de wereld, alsof wij aan het uiterst agressieve en meer dan zieke VS buitenlandbeleid moeten meebetalen…….. Meebetalen aan de illegale oorlogen die de VS naar goeddunken begint, alleen deze eeuw al meer dan 4, waarbij ‘maar liefst’ meer dan 2 miljoen mensen werden vermoord…… Overigens: daar betalen we wel degelijk aan mee, immers Nederland doet maar al te graag mee aan deze peperdure illegale oorlogen en de bedragen daarvoor komen voor een groot deel niet eens uit het defensie budget…… Ofwel die zouden opgeteld moeten worden bij wat we uitgeven aan defensie uh oorlogsvoering….

Ongelofelijk hoe de reguliere westerse media en het grootste deel van de westerse politici de VS napraten en het eens zijn met de VS dat we te weinig aan oorlogsvoering uitgeven…..

Het BNR orakel Hammelburg liet vanmorgen op die zender rond 8.08 u. weten het op veel punten eens te zijn met Trump en we meer moeten uitgeven aan defensie…… Ach ja Hammelburg, het meer dan defecte ‘buitenland kompas’ van BNR, verder zou ik zeggen, zie alleen al de paar punten die ik hiervoor aanhaalde…..

De rechtse plork Albrecht, die godbetert cultureel centrum de Balie mag leiden, NB bekendstaand als een centrum van discussie, liet na 9.30 u. op Radio1 weten het schandalig te vinden dat we zo weinig aan defensie uitgeven….. Hij kwam nog eens met het volledig versleten cliché dat de militairen ‘die ons land moeten beschermen’ (o.a. in het Midden-Oosten en Mali…. ha! ha! ha!), bij oefeningen ‘pief paf poef moeten roepen, daar er geen geld is voor kogels, een lulverhaal dat al lang in de papiervernietiger had moeten verdwijnen…… Niet alleen de VS verliest veel van haar oorlogsbudget, ook in Nederland kunnen we er wat van, al is dit in de vorm van inefficiënt werken, waarmee vele miljoenen aan belastinggeld jaarlijks door het putje verdwijnen…….

Volgens oorlogshitser Albrecht moeten we naar het agressieve Rusland kijken, waar hij de ‘annexatie van De Krim’ nog eens aanhaalde; dit is een grove leugen, daar de bevolking van De Krim met meer dan 80% stemde voor aansluiting bij Rusland, inclusief de oorspronkelijke bevolking, dit werd door internationale waarnemers beoordeeld als een goed en eerlijk verlopen referendum……. De bevolking wenste volkomen terecht niet te leven onder de neonazi-junta van de corrupte schoft Porosjenko, een junta die door de VS werd geparachuteerd……..

Albrecht begon nog over de oorlog in Oost-Oekraïne, waar hij zowaar Rusland niet noemde, al heb ik sterk het vermoeden dat hij dit vergat. Wel sprak hij over neonazi’s die daar oorlogvoeren, waarbij hij gegarandeerd ook doelde op Russische neonazi’s…… Al sinds het conflict begon, roept men dat Rusland oorlog voert in Oost-Oekraïne, ook al is daar tot op heden geen flinter aan bewijs voor geleverd……. Sterker nog: als Rusland daar had gevochten was niet alleen Oost-Oekraïne bevrijd van de neonazi’s, maar heel Oekraïne……

De NAVO heeft zich tegen de afspraken met Rusland in uitgebreid tot voor de grens van Rusland, een flagrante schending van de overeenkomst, gesloten met voormalig Sovjet president Gorbatsjov. Niet alleen dat: ook zou de NAVO geen troepen en zware wapens (als kernraketten) plaatsen in de voormalige Oostblok staten, iets dat deze uiterst agressieve terreurorganisatie wel doet, al zijn de raketten dan van NAVO partner VS…..

PvdA volksverlakker Van Gijzel was ook in de studio en hij stelde het op een aantal punten eens te zijn met Albrecht…… ha! ha! ha! ha!

Hoewel van Gijzel nog een paar vraagtekens had bij het e.e.a. liet CDA leeghoofd en minister van ‘Defensie’ Bijleveld weten het eens te zijn met de heren (in de studio, zij stond op het punt in de auto richting Brussel te stappen, Ap). Volgens Bijleveld moeten we elkaar steunen in de strijd tegen het kwaad in de wereld….. ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Goed plan Bijleveld! Het kwaad in de wereld wordt m.n. gevormd door: -de VS, zoals gezegd: alleen deze eeuw is de VS al 4 illegale oorlogen begonnen met een resultaat van meer dan 2 miljoen vermoorde slachtoffers…, -Saoedi-Arabië voert met hulp van NAVO partners VS en Groot-Brittannië een genocide uit in Jemen…. en -Israël dat het ene bloedbad na het andere uitvoert op de Palestijnen en daarnaast dictaturen als die in Birma en de neonazi’s in Oekraïne voorziet van wapens….*

En Bijleveld als je toch iets tegen het kwaad in de wereld wilt doen, is het niet alleen zaak dat het CDA stopt met de steun voor de illegale oorlogen van de VS, maar ook met de lobby voor de intensieve martelveehouderij!!

Aan de telefoon op Radio1, VVD opperhufter ten Broeke, die weer eens zijn volledig lulpraatje mocht afsteken, ofwel totaal ongefundeerde oorlogshitserij van de bovenste plank en zoals je begrijpt zo ongeveer alles van het hierboven staande……. Waar de mislukte zakkenwasser ook nog eens over onze veiligheid begon, alsof we in het Midden-Oosten onze veiligheid verdedigen, i.p.v. deze juist in de waagschaal te stellen door deelname aan illegale oorlogen (waarmee ‘we’ terreur uitlokken op de straten in de EU, ofwel terreur kweken door zelf grootschalige terreur uit te oefenen in landen waar het westen niets te zoeken heeft) ….

Albrecht meende nog even te moeten wijzen op het ‘militarisme’ in China en Rusland, terwijl alle NAVO lidstaten bij elkaar meer dan 10 keer zoveel uitgeven aan oorlogsvoering dan Rusland en China samen uitgeven aan defensie…….

Ongelofelijk mensen, wat een stel smerige leugenaars en wat een ‘geweldige’ lobbyisten voor de doodsindustrie die men aanduidt met de term: militair-industrieel complex…… ‘Laten we de wereld onder aanvoering van de VS voorgoed naar de kloten helpen…….’

PS: nog even over dat ‘bibberen van angst’ in de kop: een flink deel van de politici in de EU is trouw lobbyist van het militair-industrieel complex, zij vinden natuurlijk dat we veel meer moeten uitgeven aan moorddadig oorlogstuig…. Lobbyisme waarvoor deze politici ‘bij goed gedrag’ t.z.t. zullen worden beloond (‘uiteraard’ nadat men een paar jaar uit de politiek is……)…..

VS wil van 3.000 migrantenkinderen DNA afnemen om zo de ouders op te sporen…..

Het is intussen meer dan duidelijk dat de VS van meet af aan niet van plan was de kinderen die zij hun ouders afnamen bij binnenkomst in de VS, terug te geven aan die ouders.

Na eerdere berichten over een uiterst slechte of zelfs ontbrekende administratie van kinderen en hun ouders, maakte BBC World Service afgelopen vrijdag in het nieuws van 1.30 u. bekend dat de VS van 3.000 kinderen DNA wil afnemen, daar men niet weet wie de ouders zijn, van wie de VS NB zelf de kinderen heeft afgenomen………

Blijkbaar zag de Trump administratie dit wel als een afschrikwekkende straf voor ouders die het ‘gore lef’ hadden te vluchten voor veelal door de VS veroorzaakt geweld in eigen land, dezelfde VS die een heel groot deel van Latijns Amerika vol pompt met wapens en als het zo uitkomt dictators steunt of zelfs aan de macht helpt…….. Tot slot: de VS het gestolen land, waar diensten als de FBI en de DEA geld verdienen aan de smokkel van bijvoorbeeld cocaïne……..

Peuter vluchtelingen moeten eigen zaak bepleiten in VS rechtszalen, de VS: het land van de ‘ongekende mogelijkheden….’

Als je denkt alles wel gehad te hebben over de meer dan schunnige, inhumane manier waarop de VS omgaat met vluchtelingen, wordt je verrast door een volgend staaltje onwerkelijk en schandalig overheidsbeleid in de Verenging van Politiestaten die men de VS noemt….
Anti-Media bracht het hieronder opgenomen artikel van Elliot Gabriel, eerder geplaatst op MintPress News, waarin Gabriel ingaat op het meer dan idiote feit dat zelfs peuters van 3 jaar hun eigen zaak moeten bepleiten voor ‘rechtbanken’ in de VS…….
Kinderen die maar één ding willen: terug naar mama en/of papa, voor een rechtbank dagen en horen…… De ‘rechters’ in de VS moeten de oren van hun kop schamen dat ze niet al lang hun werk hebben neergelegd tot deze afschuwelijke gang van zaken van tafel is……

Overigens dateert het opsluiten van kinderen die werden gescheiden van hun ouders al uit de tijd van Obama*, de ‘vredesduif……’

Het voorgaande is de zoveelste schending van het VN Vluchtelingenverdrag door een westers land (en bepaald niet de eerste keer door de VS, zoals weer eens blijkt…)…… Moet je nagaan: de VS is in 9 van de 10 gevallen aan te wijzen als de diepe oorzaak achter de vlucht van mensen uit Latijns Amerika…… (en uit het Midden-Oosten, al is de VS daar, met hulp van andere NAVO landen in 100% van de gevallen verantwoordelijk voor de vluchtelingenstromen…….)
Het voorgaande geeft ten overvloede nog eens aan dat de rechtspraak in de VS zo krom is als een hoepel en aan dat land levert Nederland zelfs eigen burgers uit………..

(MPN) — Immigrant children as young as three years old are being forced to hold their own in deportation proceedings in federal court, judges have reported, further confirming how the cruelties of the U.S. immigrant enforcement regime have been largely unhindered by the local and global controversy it’s provoked.
The practice began under former President Barack Obama, but has widened under President Trump to encompass an ever-larger group of youth — who are often toddlers, unable to understand the dire circumstances that they’re in.
Speaking to Texas Tribune, Immigrant Defenders Law Center in Los Angeles executive director Lindsay Toczylowski said:

“We were representing a 3-year-old in court recently who had been separated from the parents. And the child — in the middle of the hearing — started climbing up on the table … It really highlighted the absurdity of what we’re doing with these kids.”

Continuing, she noted that the children are scarcely able to put into words the conditions – frequently violent – that force the families to leave their homes and make the treacherous journey to the north:

“The parent might be the only one who knows why they fled from the home country, and the child is in a disadvantageous position to defend themselves.

The kids don’t understand the intricacies that are involved with deportation and immigration court … They do understand that they have been separated from their parents, and the primary goal is to get back with people they love.”

Over 2,000 children are slated to face the proceedings in the absence of their parents, who alone have the vocabulary and the knowledge to properly explain to authorities what the context was that drove them to seek asylum or enter the United States.
While a federal judge ruled earlier this week that the reuniting of separated families must be a priority for the Trump administration, immigration lawyers are saying that this won’t help those parents who have already been sent home while their children languish in U.S. detention facilities. The lawyers also note that no actual model for such a reunification exists yet.
The revelation is just the latest indication of the enormous human costs of Trump’s stepped-up and “zero tolerance” immigration enforcement, mass confinement and deportation regime.
Confusion Reigns but the War on Migrants Must Continue
Now the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agency has signaled that it will cease handing parents over to authorities until the administration can figure out how to make good on their prosecution without ripping their children from their arms.
Such a move would, in effect, be tantamount to the “catch and release” program opposed by Trump, which saw unauthorized migrants being released and told to return to face a judge in the future.
The government has been unable to cope with the demands placed on its detention and concentration camp facilities, leading to a crisis of overcrowding, rights abuses, and even calls by President Trump to suspend due process and asylum-protection rights for unauthorized immigrants.

Tweeting on Sunday, Trump said:

“We cannot allow all of these people to invade our Country. When somebody comes in, we must immediately, with no Judges or Court Cases, bring them back from where they came [sic].”

“Cannot accept all of the people trying to break into our Country. Strong Borders, No Crime!”

The CBP move also comes shortly after the Department of Defense confirmed that it had been tasked by the administration to hold migrants in camps within 45 days as an initial step toward managing the encampment of a migrant “family population of up to 12,000 people.”
If facilities are not available then camps meant to contain around 4,000 people each will be built at three separate locations, according to the Pentagon.
Trump appears to be faced with no good options, as the anger and outcry over his policies continues to build. The existing laws and restraints on the immigration enforcement regime that he inherited from past administrations have been a mere inconvenience for the president as he pursues this latest escalated war on migrants.
Northwest Immigrant Rights Project head Jorge Baron told Reuters:

“Here, I think he is making it clear, he just doesn’t want anybody here. He wants people to just be sent back, no matter what.”

De nieuwe maatregelen tegen migranten en hun kinderen* zal voor een enorme toename van misbruik als verkrachtingen bij die kinderen leiden……

Rond één derde van de kinderen die in de VS tot vluchtelingen behoren en die vastzitten, is met hun ouders, dan wel een volwassen begeleider als oom of tante de VS binnengekomen (niet zelden op de vlucht voor de ellende die de VS in hun thuisland aanricht…)……

Sinds kort worden deze kinderen na aanhouding bij hun ouders dan wel begeleider weggehaald en apart gehuisvest in een zogenaamd opvangcentrum, in de praktijk zijn deze centra echter ‘gewoon’ ordinaire gevangenissen, waar die kinderen 22 uur per dag binnen zitten…..

Juist de ambtenaren van overheidsbureaus of medewerkers van particuliere organisaties die deze jongeren ‘begeleiden’ en de leiding in deze zogenaamde opvangcentra, misbruiken deze vaak al getraumatiseerde kinderen op grote schaal….. Het aantal klachten over seksueel misbruik door de leiding in die gevangenissen is fiks en dat zou volgens deskundigen nog maar 2% zijn van het werkelijke aantal gevallen van kindermisbruik……
Alleen tussen 2010 en 2016 was het aantal klachten 33.000 ga maar na wat dit betekent als dit nog maar 2% is van het totale aantal gevallen van misbruik en andere vormen van ernstige geestelijke en lichamelijke mishandeling…… (over dat laatste spreekt schrijver Justin King van het hieronder opgenomen artikel niet, echter dat is voor veel van deze kinderen en andere gevangenen wel de dagelijkse praktijk….)
Ondanks deze enorme ellende, die bekend moet zijn bij de Trump administratie, is deze maatregel toch ingevoerd, een maatregel waarbij kinderen worden gescheiden van hun ouders…….. Alles ‘in de strijd tegen vluchtelingen’, die zoals gezegd veelal op de vlucht zijn als gevolg van terroristisch, illegaal VS ingrijpen in Midden- en Zuid-Amerika…….
Een regering die dergelijke maatregelen neemt verdient maar één stempel: fascistisch!!

(TFC) – We’ve seen the images. Children being torn from their asylum-seeking families. Kids in cages, like animals caught by the local animal control agency. It’s horrendous, it’s evil, it’s against everything America is supposed to represent, but there’s an even larger problem.

The agencies involved in this debacle are known for raping and sexually assaulting detainees. Not in isolated incidents, but by the thousands. That’s not an exaggeration. The Intercept obtained 1224 complaints about sexual abuse in ICE custody. That’s staggering, but according to the Office of the Inspector General (OIG), that’s only 2% of the total number of complaints.

“…officials with the DHS Office of Inspector General indicated that the office received some 33,000 complaints between 2010 and 2016 alleging a wide range of abuses in immigration detention. The OIG provided records documenting investigations for just 2 percent of the complaints it shared with The Intercept.”

33,000. What kind of abuses were mentioned? The allegations in the complaints are horrific. A male detainee was forced to perform oral sex on a male immigration officer. A woman was maced and then forced to endure a male guard pressing his erect penis into her from behind while other guards watched. Sodomy. A woman raped by a medical worker. It’s a never-ending barrage of the most heinous crimes imaginable.

Out of the 1224 complaints obtained, only 43 were investigated by the OIG. Out of the full 33,000, only 247 were investigated by the OIG. That’s less than 1%. No statement by the government on how widespread the problem is can be trusted because they simply refuse to even pretend to investigate themselves.

At an immigration center in Pennsylvania, there are handbooks for detainees. The English version clearly states there is a zero-tolerance policy in regards to sexual assault and harassment. The Spanish version? It advises women to not talk about sex so they can avoid being assaulted. In this particular facility, the only prosecuted case of sexual assault was a government employee assaulting a teenaged girl. She had fled Honduras to avoid being raped. The perpetrator was locked up for only five months.

However, that case was the exception. It was actually prosecuted, most aren’t even investigated. At a GEO Group-run facility, a female minor reported a sexual assault. A medical exam said she showed indications of vaginal scarring and a sexually transmitted disease. ICE declared the complaint “unfounded” even though there was ample physical evidence.
However, as is a trend with federal agencies, in many cases when a victim reports the crime, they are placed in solitary confinement. A tactic, immigrants rights groups say, designed to pressure the victim into withdrawing the complaint.
Remember that sexual assault is always underreported. There are tens of thousands of these cases. Children will be sexually assaulted as a result of the President’s policy of separating children from their families. It’s not a question of if children will be assaulted, but how many. A dozen? Hundreds? A thousand? How many kids are you ok with being raped? Is your fear of asylum-seekers so great that you’ll offer up children to predators like some pimp in a back alley?

Een kwaadaardige ‘christen’ uit de stal van het 666 beest Trump, procureur-generaal Jeff Sessions heeft besloten dat vluchtelingen bijvoorbeeld uit Zuid- en Midden-Amerika niet langer kunnen rekenen op asiel als ze geweld in eigen land ontvluchten, of dat nu geweld is van huiselijke, gender, dan wel van politieke aard is, ook slachtoffers van geweld door misdaadbendes kunnen het voor een groot deel vergeten………… Uiteraard hoort daar ook geweld als verkrachting toe……

 Je snapt dat Sessions de zaak niet zo heeft gesteld als in de kop vermeld staat, echter als je zijn achterlijke, inhumane verhaal hoort, is dat zo ongeveer de enige mogelijkheid……

Deze enorme schoft stelt dat het niet genoeg is als de vluchteling stelt dat zijn/haar, regering niets doet tegen het geweld dat die persoon ondervindt. De vluchteling moet aantonen dat zijn/haar regering ofwel het geweld vergoelijkt dan wel bewezen niets heeft gedaan om geweld te voorkomen……. Met andere woorden, dit is de VVD variant: je bent pas een echte vluchteling als je dood bent……. Tja dan zou je als je nog leefde althans, aan kunnen tonen dat de regering niets heeft gedaan…….
Bovendien heb je veeleer te maken met lokale autoriteiten, ofwel een regering kan van goede wil zijn, maar als een verkrachter of moordenaar bevriend is met de lokale corrupte machthebber, kan je het alsnog schudden……..
Dan nog hebben we het woord vluchteling: iemand vlucht als de situatie onhoudbaar is en hij/zij en of naasten dan wel kinderen gevaar lopen te worden vermoord >> op zo’n moment heb je niet eens de kans iets dergelijks te bewijzen, immers je zal hals over kop moeten vluchten….

Trouwens hoe bewijs je dat een regering niets doet tegen geweld? De bewuste regering zelf zal dit als allereerste ontkennen, je mag dan wel een onderzoekbureau tot je beschikking hebben om een groot aantal gevallen van onwil aan te kunnen tonen……
Nogmaals, nu ook in de VS: een echte vluchteling is een dode vluchteling………
Je zou gvd hopen dat figuren als Sessions fiks ziek worden, hun hele hebben en houden kwijtraken en met hun gezin in dezelfde situatie terechtkomen als waar de vluchtelingen mee te maken hebben, en bij een asielaanvraag te maken krijgen met dezelfde houding die figuren als Sessions aan de dag leggen en dat graag voor de rest van hun miezerige, inhumane schoftenbestaan….. Maar ja, gerechtigheid bestaat niet (triester nog: zelfs een poging om je recht te halen wordt steeds moeilijker, zoals ook dit bericht weer aantoont….)

 Sessions stelt dat misbruik maken met de huidige regels te makkelijk is, terwijl mensenrechten advocaten dit met klem tegenspreken, het is bijzonder moeilijk om asiel in de VS te krijgen…… Sessions gaat met zijn besluit, precies als de EU met de Turkije deal, recht in tegen het VN Vluchtelingenverdrag………

Wat een zieke wereld, gadver!

‘Horrific’: Sessions Says Survivors of Domestic and Gang Violence Will No Longer Qualify for Asylum

In just the latest addition to the Trump administration’s mounting collection of “cruel” policies aimed at closing off the nation to refugees and asylum-seekers, Attorney General Jeff Sessions released a new Justice Department guidance on Monday declaring that migrants will no longer automatically qualify for asylum if they present concerns of domestic abuse or gang violence.

“The mere fact that a country may have problems effectively policing certain crimes or that certain populations are more likely to be victims of crime, cannot itself establish an asylum claim,” Sessions’ guidance (pdf) states. “An applicant seeking to establish persecution based on violent conduct of a private actor must show more than the government’s difficulty controlling private behavior. The applicant must show that the government condoned the private actions or demonstrated an inability to protect the victims.”


 Sessions first revealed that he would release the revised asylum policy during a speechto the nation’s immigration judges on Monday. In the address, he claimed “the asylum system is being abused to the detriment of the rule of law, sound public policy, and public safety,” and that “the vast majority of the current asylum claims are not valid.”

 But immigrants rights advocates pointed out that the asylum process is already incredibly difficult, and now it will be even harder for those fleeing violence to seek protection.

(FAIR) The work of Rob Rogers, longtime political cartoonist for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, has been notably absent from his paper’s opinion page during this past week. Aside from a cartoon criticizing the trade war posted on Tuesday, June 5, the most recent of Rogers’ drawings appeared last Thursday, May 24.
So where was Rogers all of last week? He did not simply “have the day off,” as printed in last Tuesday’s issue of the Post-Gazette.
Keith Burris, the Post-Gazette’s editorial director since March, when it merged its editorial board with the co-owned Toledo Blade, refused to publish six of Rogers’ cartoons in a row. Four were directly critical of President Donald Trump, and two alluded to racism.
Despite not being published in the Post-Gazette, Rogers continued posting these cartoons on Twitter, as he does with all of his work.
May 25’s cartoon portrayed a referee calling penalties for exercising free speech, disrespecting the troops and eliciting Trump tweetstorms, in light of the NFL’s announcement of their new rule dictating players must stand during the national anthem:

On May 30, he criticized the NFL again, joking it was closed for “racial ignorance training” in light of Starbucks closing many of its locations for racial sensitivity training:

None of these cartoons appeared in the Post-Gazette, despite Rogers being the paper’s full-time staff political cartoonist.

Burris frequently writes in support of Trump for the Post-Gazette’s opinion section. In “Can Roseanne Restore Our Sense of Proportion?” (4/8/18), Burris referred to “Trump-hate” as “a mania, a fever, a hissy fit by the self-anointed guardians of all that is good and enlightened in America.” He argued:

God help you if you actually like some of what Mr. Trump does and dislike other things that he does or says. You are, in the words of a church lady who confronted me one day, “complicit.”
Burris wrote an editorial in January (1/15/18) headlined “Reason as Racism,” which defended Trump’s description of developing nations as “shithole countries,” and likened being called racist today with being labeled a Communist during the McCarthy Era.

 The paper’s publisher, John Robinson Block of Block Communications, which owns both the Post-Gazette and the Blade, insisted that the piece be printed, according to Post-Gazette reporter Michael A. Fuoco (CJR, 1/22/18). Fuoco went on to describe the dread he and the other newsroom employees felt in the wake of the piece’s publishing.
Block is an open Trump supporter, who (accompanied by Burris) met with Trump on his private plane in 2016 following a campaign rally, tweeting it was “a more than memorable experience” (9/22/16). He also suggested at a community forum on racism in 2013 (Toledo Blade, 9/17/13) that people of color should “pull themselves up by their bootstraps” like they did in the “old days”.

The Post-Gazette also came under fire in Nov. 2016 for their piece, “A Guide to Decide: Twelve Tests to Choose Between Clinton and Trump,” which was read by many as a crypto-endorsement of Trump.
Burris’ article was so incendiary that the Newspaper Guild of Pittsburgh, which noted it does not, as a rule, comment on editorials, felt the need to denounce the piece, calling it “repugnant.” One hundred and fifty of the Post-Gazette’s newsroom employees signed the letter.
The paper did not publish the Guild’s letter, or another signed by 23 Post-Gazette staff members (CJR, 1/22/18)–omissions that seem to foreshadow the paper’s new editorial director’s distaste for dissenting opinion.
The Blade, however, ran Burris’ response to the backlash against his piece in a column headlined “The Left’s War on Thought” (1/26/18).
Whena Philadelphia Inquirer reporter (6/4/18) reached out to Rogers for comment, Rogers said he was unable to speak of the incident, but confirmed he was still employed by the paper. The piece also noted Burris did not respond.
This morning (6/6/18), in a series of three tweets, Rogers thanked his readers and colleagues for their support, but announced he would be taking some time off from the Post-Gazette while the issue is being resolved. “I love what I do,” he tweeted:

Now, more than ever, I believe in the power of satire and the public dialogue that it can create. Thank you for being part of that dialogue.

The paper ran the latest Rogers cartoon without an acknowledgement of the cartoonist’s absence over the past week. Rogers’ supporters denounced the censorship with comments on the paper’s website like:

So, the Toledo editors CENSORED Rogers’ cartoons!!!!!!!!!!!! Where are we? 1930’s Berlin! This Fascist Conservative Brown Shirt stuff is VERY DANGEROUS.

It’s so stupid that the PG board would weaken the paper and insult we readers by suppressing Rob Rogers’ great work.

Newsday cartoonist Matt Davies came out in support of Rogers on Twitter(6/5/18), saying good editors publish that which they disagree with. This would seem to echo the lessons Burris himself (Post-Gazette, 3/4/18) says he learned from John Craig, the editor who first hired him for paper, who said that a good journalist “has no side or tribe,” and that an opinion writer “must have roots but no permanent alliances.”
Local outlets like the Inquirer and CBS Pittsburgh (6/4/18), as well as CNN Money (6/4/18), have picked up on the story of Rogers’ censorship, but it has yet to appear on larger national sites like the New York Times or NPR.

Boltons spaak in het wiel: beloof Noord-Korea het Libië model…… Trump ‘wil nu toch praten….’

Drie dagen voordat Trump zich terugtrok van de onderhandelingen met Kim Yung-un, zei oorlogshitser en grootlobbyist van het militair-industrieel complex, Bolton dat de onderhandelingen met Noord-Korea van hetzelfde kaliber zijn als die met Libië, zo’n 13 jaar voordat het bewind van Khadaffi omver werd geworpen door de illegale oorlog die de VS en NAVO coalitie tegen Libië begon……

Des te opvallender de opmerking van het beest Trump, hij heeft het gesprek met Kim afgezegd vanwege de agressieve woorden die Noord-Korea zou hebben gebruikt…….. ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Een enorm grote pot, verwijt een piepklein keteltje zwart te zien!

Leeghoofd Mike Pence probeerde de (agressieve) woorden van Bolton tevergeefs af te zwakken, met te stellen dat Noord-Korea hetzelfde lot te wachten staat als Libië, wanneer Noord-Korea niet akkoord zou gaan met de voorwaarden van de VS…. Ofwel: de besprekingen tussen Trump en Kim waren bedoeld voor de bühne en Kim werd alleen geacht z’n handtekening te zetten onder de voorwaarden zoals de VS die zou dicteren……..
Uiteraard heeft Noord-Korea daarop zelf voorwaarden gesteld……
Overigens werd gisteren, bekend gemaakt dat ondanks de afzegging van Trump, Noord-Korea bereid blijft te praten* (zo die kunnen de hufters Trump, Bolton en Pence in hun zak steken!).
Vanmorgen werd bekend gemaakt dat Trump nu toch wil praten met Kim, al hoef je niet op te kijken als hij het uiteindelijk toch af laat weten….. Om te beginnen zal de VS van Noord-Korea opnieuw eisen de zaken te tekenen die de VS het land voorlegt, ofwel wat stelt het overleg tussen Trump en Kim dan nog voor??

Three days before President Trump announced him as the new National Security Advisor, deranged mutant death walrus John Bolton appeared on Radio Free Asia and said of negotiations with North Korea, “I think we should insist that if this meeting is going to take place, it will be similar to discussions we had with Libya 13 or 14 years ago.”

 Bolton has been loudly and publicly advocating “the Libya model” with the DPRK ever since.
“I think we’re looking at the Libya model of 2003, 2004,” Bolton said on Face the Nation last month, and said the same on Fox News Sunday in case anyone failed to get the message.
Bolton never bothered to refine his message by saying, for example, “Without the part where we betray and invade them and get their leader mutilated to death in the streets.” He just said they’re doing Libya again.
This was what John Bolton was saying before he was hired, and this was what John Bolton continued to say after he was hired. This was what John Bolton was hired to do. He was hired to sabotage peace and facilitate death and destruction. That is what he does. That is what he is for. Can openers open cans, John Bolton starts wars. You don’t buy a can opener to rotate your tires, and you don’t hire John Bolton to facilitate peace.

 It should have surprised no one, then, when the administration saw Bolton’s Libya comments and raised him a canceled peace talk.

“You know, there were some talk about the Libya model last week,” Vice President Pence told Fox News on Saturday. “And you know, as the president made clear, you know, this will only end like the Libya model ended if Kim Jong-un doesn’t make a deal.”

 “Some people saw that as a threat,” Fox’s Martha MacCallum replied, because there is no other way it could possibly be interpreted.
Pence blathered something about it being “a fact”, not a threat, but that is because he is a fake plastic doll manufactured by Raytheon. It was an extremely obvious and blatant threat, so of course North Korea responded accordingly. Below is the full text of the response to Pence’s statement by North Korea’s Vice Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui, which reportedly was the basis for Trump’s cancellation of the scheduled summit in Singapore:

“At an interview with Fox News on May 21, US Vice-President Pence made unbridled and impudent remarks that North Korea might end like Libya, military option for North Korea never came off the table, the US needs complete, verifiable and irreversible denuclearisation, and so on.

As a person involved in the US affairs, I cannot suppress my surprise at such ignorant and stupid remarks gushing out from the mouth of the US vice-president.

If he is vice-president of “single superpower” as is in name, it will be proper for him to know even a little bit about the current state of global affairs and to sense to a certain degree the trends in dialogue and the climate of détente.

We could surmise more than enough what a political dummy he is as he is trying to compare the DPRK, a nuclear weapon state, to Libya that had simply installed a few items of equipment and fiddled around with them.

Soon after the White House National Security Adviser Bolton made the reckless remarks, Vice-President Pence has again spat out nonsense that the DPRK would follow in Libya’s footstep.

It is to be underlined, however, that in order not to follow in Libya’s footstep, we paid a heavy price to build up our powerful and reliable strength that can defend ourselves and safeguard peace and security in the Korean peninsula and the region.

In view of the remarks of the US high-ranking politicians who have not yet woken up to this stark reality and compare the DPRK to Libya that met a tragic fate, I come to think that they know too little about us.

To borrow their words, we can also make the US taste an appalling tragedy it has neither experienced nor even imagined up to now.

Before making such reckless threatening remarks without knowing exactly who he is facing, Pence should have seriously considered the terrible consequences of his words.

It is the US who has asked for dialogue, but now it is misleading the public opinion as if we have invited them to sit with us.

I only wonder what is the ulterior motive behind its move and what is it the US has calculated to gain from that.

We will neither beg the US for dialogue nor take the trouble to persuade them if they do not want to sit together with us.

Whether the US will meet us at a meeting room or encounter us at nuclear-to-nuclear showdown is entirely dependent upon the decision and behavior of the United States.

In case the US offends against our goodwill and clings to unlawful and outrageous acts, I will put forward a suggestion to our supreme leadership for reconsidering the DPRK-US summit.”

Trump cancels North Korea summit? Actually John Bolton already torpedoed it by telling North Korea to self destruct with the “Libya model”. This was perfect warmonger strategy to stop the threat of peace breaking out on the Peninsula. South Korea, please stay the course!

The message of Trump’s withdrawal couldn’t be more clear: we get to threaten you, you don’t get to threaten us. This extremely one-sided dynamic is not a style of negotiation that any sane person would go along with if they didn’t have to, and as Choe pointed out, North Korea doesn’t have to. Libya had only the barest rudiments of what could have eventually one day become a nuclear program. North Korea has a full arsenal, and thus a much bigger stack of bargaining chips. A negotiation at gunpoint can only be one-sided if the other side has no gun.
This negotiation was never meant to succeed. Publicly stating that North Korea gets “the Libya model” was like a hostage negotiator offering “the Waco model”. It was plainly designed to fail.
Of course the US-centralized empire has no intention of a mutually beneficial negotiation with a sovereign nation. That isn’t how imperialism works. You either join the mass of tightly allied nations which function in effective unison on foreign policy, or you are smashed like Libya. This policy of threatening nations to join the empire on pain of decimation is what is causing all nonconforming nations to form into a growing and increasingly close alliance of their own, and it is what is causing them to seek nuclear weapons so that they don’t end up like Libya.


If there’s a silver lining to be found in all of this, it was summed up by the Ron Paul Liberty Report’s Daniel McAdams:

“I think Trump is making America great again by making America irrelevant. We are irrelevant in the North and South peace talks right now. The ball is completely in [South Korea President] Moon’s court, what is he going to do next; we’ve basically recused ourselves from the whole process. Which is very, very good for us. So I feel rather upbeat. I think although it’s always better to talk to people, and it would be better to talk, but in the current environment, for us to get out of the way is really the non-interventionist position.”

America getting out of the way would be great for everyone, especially for the Americans whose resources are being relentlessly consumed by constant aggressive interventionism and an oligarchy whose vastly disproportionate wealth is propped up with the barrel of a gun. The natural drive of plutocratic smash-and-grab imperialism is in the exact opposite direction of non-interventionism, but as people continue to wake up from the madness and the rest of the world refuses to be consumed by the blob, it’s possible that the empire ends not with a bang but with a barely noticed fizzle. And that is my sincere prayer for all of us.

Alsof een groot deel van de wereld de VS niet al bijzonder lang ziet als terreurentiteit, is de VS nooit te beroerd om naast illegale oorlogvoering, de boel internationaal mondeling telkens weer op scherp te stellen……..

Zijne kwaadaardigheid Mike Pompeo liet weten dat de VS op basis van leugens (al zei hij dit laatste er natuurlijk niet bij) bereid is Iran te vermorzelen. De misdadiger en klimaatscepticus (hij was o.a. topschoft van de CIA en president-directeur van Sentry International, een servicebedrijf voor de oliemaffia) durfde te stellen dat de VS wereldwijd jacht gaat maken op Iraanse agenten en leden van Hezbollah…… ha! ha! ha! ha! ha!

Alsof Iran:
  • over een groot deel van de wereld militairen en militaire bases (meer dan 800!!) heeft, i.p.v. de VS….
  • precies als de VS de ene na de andere illegale oorlog aangaat en daarbij alleen deze eeuw al meer dan 2 miljoen mensen heeft vermoord (waaronder veel vrouwen en kinderen….)……..
  • zoals de VS in een aantal landen mensen standrechtelijk executeert middels drones, ofwel vermoord zonder enig proces en met die aanvallen, waarbij meer dan 90% van de slachtoffers die door de VS werden vermoord, niet eens verdachten waren van een misdaad (alweer: veelal vrouwen en kinderen….)……
  • als de VS op een fiks aantal landen geheime militaire acties uitvoert, waarbij mensen ofwel worden vermoord, dan wel ontvoerd om daarna te worden gemarteld en voor onbepaalde tijd gevangen te worden gezet (wat in misdaadtermen wordt aangeduid als gijzeling door ontvoerders)….
  • als de VS overal waar het haar uitkomt: -verkiezingen manipuleert, -zich schuldig maakt aan computerinbraak, spionage (ook bij bevriende naties) en bedrijfsspionage, -opstanden op poten zet om zo coups uit te lokken, dan wel meteen een staatsgreep uitvoert…..
En zo kan ik nog wel even doorgaan beste bezoeker, maar de zaak zal je wel duidelijk zijn: als er één land op de wereld is waar andere landen (en wij allen) bang voor moeten zijn, is het de VS wel, (nogmaals) de grootste terreurentiteit op aarde!! US Threatens to ‘Crush’ Iran, Vows ‘Strongest Sanctions in History’

(ANTIWAR.COM) — Setting up a new level of hostility toward Iran after the US withdrew from the P5+1 nuclear deal, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo promised “unprecedented financial pressure” Monday in comments to the Heritage Foundation. He said the US would impose the “strongest sanctions in history” against the Iranians.

“We will track down Iranian operatives and their Hezbollah proxies operating around the world and crush them,” Pompeo said.

The justification for this was a vague mention of Iran being a “malign influence,” and false allegations that they have “nuclear ambitions,” despite Iran still being a part of a nuclear deal which limits them to only a very small civilian nuclear program.
Pompeo said sanctions are in full effect and more are coming. He further issued a broad string of demands on the Iranians. This included withdrawing all forces from Syria, and totally ending support for both Hezbollah and Hamas.
Asking Iran to withdraw all “forces” from Syria is likely not possible for them to comply with, as US officials have generally presented Shi’ite militias who aren’t from Iran in the first place as “Iranian controlled” force. Iran could no more expel these Shi’ites from Syria than the US could remove all Kurdish forces from Syria.

Whether the demands are reasonable, or practical, is neither here nor there anyhow. That’s because Pompeo is not suggesting that compliance with all of these demands would mean an end to sanctions. Even if he did, the US just got done reneging on sanctions relief toward Iran with the nuclear deal.
The Trump Administration wanted out of the nuclear deal to start ratcheting up sanctions, which they see as an end unto themselves. Having done so, Pompeo is just bragging about how great those sanctions will be, not implying that there is any way to avoid them.

Michael Hayden (ex-CIA en generaal b.d.): niets mis met martelingen door Gina Haspel…..

Beste bezoeker, je had het al begrepen, de kop klopt niet helemaal, Haspel heeft (waarschijnlijk) niet zelf mensen gemarteld, maar e.e.a. gebeurde onder haar verantwoordelijkheid, zij was o.a. directeur van een geheime CIA gevangenis in Thailand….. Deze helleveeg staat op het punt officieel benoemd te worden tot chef CIA en dat geeft nogal wat deining binnen en buiten de VS….. (Haspel vervult deze functie al vanaf 26 april jl.)

Beetje vreemd wel, immers het is bekend dat de CIA haar gewillige geheime diensten in het buitenland traint hoe het best te martelen, ofwel de CIA onderwijst martelmethoden……

Gistermiddag op Radio Nova Scotia* ex-CIA chef en oud-generaal Michael Hayden over de aanstelling van Haspel.(na 13.30 CET).

Voordat Hayden aan het woord kwam, was CIA ‘klokkenluider’ John Kiriakou aan het woord, hij mocht relatief kort zijn mening laten horen over Haspel. Kiriakou was overigens de eerste die openbaar maakte dat de CIA mensen martelde middels waterboarding…………

Onder Bush noemde men deze vorm van marteling (en nog wat smerige andere martelingen) ‘enhanced interrogation’ (vrij vertaald: versterkte ondervraging). Uitermate vreemd aldus Kiriakou daar de VS in 1946 nog Japanners ter dood heeft veroordeeld en geëxecuteerd voor het martelen van VS militairen juist middels dit ‘waterboarding……’ Uiteraard stelde Kiriakou dat oorlogsmisdadiger Haspel, met haar smerige verleden, nooit chef van de CIA zou mogen worden….. (ach, de hele CIA zou als misdadige terreurorganisatie internationaal moeten worden vervolgd…..)

Snel werd Kiriakou daarna afgekapt en schakelde men over naar Hayden, die uiteraard geen goed woord overhad voor Kiriakou (“John had troubles with the law….”), maar niet op bijvoorbeeld de door Kiraikou genoemde executies inging…….

Volgens Hayden was alles volgens de wet en is Haspel juist de aangewezen persoon om chef van de CIA te worden, de enorme schoft durfde zelfs te stellen dat de smerige helleveeg Haspel zelfs tegen Trump in zal gaan als deze de CIA zou gebieden gevangenen te martelen……… ha! ha! ha! ha! ha!

Ook als alles volgens de wet gaat heb je je te houden aan internationale regels die marteling verbieden en ben je ten allen tijde verantwoordelijk als je dit wel doet, ook al is het in opdracht…… Bovendien als alles wettig was, waarom heeft Haspel dan aantoonbaar geprobeerd alle dossiers over martelen te vernietigen???

Overigens heeft Trump al kort na zijn aantreden gezegd dat de VS het recht heeft om mensen te martelen als dit ‘in het belang van de nationale veiligheid is’ (en dat is alles in de VS!) gegarandeerd dat er al lang weer gemarteld wordt door de CIA en andere geheime diensten van de VS…. Vraag me zelfs af of dit ooit is gestopt, ook al is uit wetenschappelijk onderzoek aangetoond dat martelen geen bruikbare informatie oplevert!!

‘Het mooie van dit alles’ is het feit dat onder Haydens directeurschap van de CIA er nog steeds werd gemarteld door die geheime dienst……

‘Mooi ook’ dat de presentator die in gesprek was met Hayden dit niet voorlegde aan deze barbaarse ploert. Overigens werden de meeste zaken die ik aanhaalde niet door haar genoemd in dit gesprek…….. Ach ja, het schijnt de taak van de reguliere westerse media te zijn om de VS door dik en dun te steunen, men durft nog net commentaar te leveren als Trump weer eens een gigantisch domme of lullige uitspraak doet….. Echter als het om oorlog gaat staat men achter de VS en geeft men ofwel geen commentaar op het martelen door of in opdracht van de VS, of sputtert wat in de marge over mensenrechten (in het gunstigste geval….)…..

Overigens heeft ook CDA idioot Balkenende al eens opgemerkt geen probleem te hebben met waterboarding, destijds volgens hem geen marteling……….. (al zal deze hufter daar nu misschien op zeggen: ‘Met de kennis die we nu hebben was dit geen verstandige constatering…..”)

* Een BBC station dat als ik het goed begrepen heb, nu zelfstandig opereert, al nemen ze af en toe nog wel BBC radioprogramma’s over.

Zoals gewoonlijk maken wapenfabrikanten enorme winsten door oorlogen en ellende in ‘conflictgebieden’ (vooral gebieden waar de VS haar grootschalige terreur uitoefent…)…. Gelukkig heeft Atkins, de schrijver van het hieronder opgenomen artikel van MintPress News (MPN), gekeken naar de winsten die wapenfabrikanten maakten n.a.v. de illegale aanval met kruisraketten op Syrische doelen door de VS, GB en Frankrijk, uitgevoerd in de nacht van vrijdag 13 op zaterdag 14 april….

Het gaat hier dan alleen nog om wapenfabrikanten die contracten hebben met het ministerie van illegale oorlogen in de VS…… Houd je vast: de aandelen van de fabrikanten (die mede de gebruikte kruisraketten fabriceerden), stegen na deze illegale aanvallen met maar liefst 10 miljard dollar….!!!

 Uiteraard ging de olieprijs ook omhoog en profiteerden de oplichters van de oliemaffia (de grote oliebedrijven) evenzeer van deze oorlogshandelingen, immers er dreigde door deze aanval een grootschalige oorlog met Rusland en zoals je begrijpt: voor oorlogsvoering is een enorme hoeveelheid benzine, diesel, stookolie en kerosine nodig……… Vorige week maandag zakten deze koersen weer enigszins toen bleek dat Rusland, zoals gewoonlijk de laatste jaren, wel haar verstand gebruikte en niet de strijd aanging met terreurentiteiten VS, GB en Frankrijk……..
Zo zie je maar, er is een enorme groep mensen (vooral aandeelhouders en de top van wapenfabrieken) die profiteert van oorlogen en de enorme ellende onder de bevolkingen die deze moeten doorstaan…….. Waar de wapenfabrikanten in de VS ook nog eens de republikeinen steunen, die tegen de opname zijn van ook maar 1 vluchteling uit door de VS in oorlog gedompelde landen……

 De hoogste tijd dat wapenfabrikanten worden aangeklaagd bij het internationaal strafhof (ICC), daar zij in feite de medeverantwoordelijken zijn voor het enorme aantal doden, waar de VS alleen deze eeuw al verantwoordelijk voor is, intussen meer dan 20 miljoen (moorden…)……

Defense Contractors Saw $10 Billion Stock Boost Following Syria Airstrikes

War, who is it good for? Missile manufacturers, that’s who!

Since President Trump announced that he intended to bomb Syria, the stock values of some of the country’s top weapons manufacturers have soared, adding a collective $10 billion in market capitalization values over the course of just one week. With Trump delivering on his promise this weekend, the rally on Wall Street continues.

 A barrage of 118 (or more) U.S. Tomahawk cruise missiles rained down on Syria Friday night—Trump’s punishment for the alleged chemical weapons attack carried out by Bashar al-Assad’s government in Douma (for which the world is still awaiting hard evidence). Trump’s tweet on April 9 that he would be taking action against Syria launched the stock prices of some of America’s major defense suppliers into the skies, and they are still climbing.

 For Raytheon (RTN), the company which manufactures the Tomahawk cruise missiles used against Syria, nearly $2.5 billion has been added to the company’s market value. Add together the gains from other top weapons makers Lockheed Martin (LMT), General Dynamics (GD), Boeing (BA), and Northrop Grumman (NOC), and it becomes apparent just how profitable a business war can be.

 Lockheed Martin makes the tactical control system, another of the required components of the Tomahawk launch apparatus. General Dynamics, meanwhile, manufactures the missile’s firing system. Boeing builds the B-1 bombers used in the strikes as well as its own variety of cruise missiles, while Northrop Grumman produces radar systems and other bombers, like the B-2 Stealth.

 The investor crowd was giddy about the money-making opportunities last week. On the stock tip blog “The Street” on Friday, trader Stephen Guilfoyle was recommending “4 Hot Defense Stocks for Syria,” telling his readers, “The world remains dangerous, and dangerous ‘toys’ are increasingly in demand.”

 For the American people, the immediate cost of subsidizing the profits of war was at least $165 million—just for the Tomahawk missiles themselves, which cost the government $1.4 million each. This, of course, doesn’t account for the tens of millions of dollars or more that it cost to mobilize the equipment and forces necessary to carry out the air strikes.

 Even though this round of strikes is being spun as a one-night affair, it is actually part of a sustained campaign in Syria and across the Middle East aimed at protecting U.S. dominance against the growth of Iranian and Russian influence. Almost exactly a year ago, there was a round of air strikes on Syria over another alleged chemical attack, and U.S. troops have been on the ground inside the country since late 2015.

 With known war-hawks now holding prominent positions in the cabinet—including John Bolton as National Security Advisor, Mike Pompeo as Secretary of State, and Gina Haspel as head of the CIA—the likelihood that this weekend’s missile strikes were a one-off event are next to nil. All three of these figures were connected with the disastrous war in Iraq under George W. Bush, which was justified by the need to eliminate Saddam Hussein’s “weapons of mass destruction”—weapons which didn’t actually exist.

 Meanwhile, the party on Wall Street carries on, with the promise of even brighter days ahead for defense contractors. Immediately following the bombing, Trump pledged “billions of fully approved dollars” in additional military spending on Saturday morning. Speaking of the U.S. military’s overwhelming power in the world, he continued, saying, “There won’t be anything, or anyone, even close!” That is exactly what this weekend’s air strikes were intended to tell the world.
