Hoe is het bijvoorbeeld mogelijk dat deze media (en het grootste deel van de westerse politici) nog steeds de illegale oorlog van de VS tegen Irak verdedigen, terwijl algemeen bekend is dat ook die oorlog is gebaseerd op zware leugens en dat deze oorlog aan rond de 2 miljoen Irakezen het leven heeft gekost……. Zo meldt Wikileaks dat 20 inspecteurs van de OPCW het niet eens zijn met het uiteindelijke rapport van de OPCW over Douma*, daarin zijn feiten op zodanige wijze gemanipuleerd dat het reguliere Syrische leger een gifgasaanval zou hebben uitgevoerd op Douma, volkomen tegen de bevindingen in, waarin wordt gesteld dat deze aanval werd geënsceneerd door zogenaamde rebellen (lees: psychopathisch moordend, verkrachtend en martelend geteisem, dat zelfs werd gesteund door Nederland…)……

Ongelofelijk maar waar: na dat het schandaal bekend werd dat de OPCW de rapportage over de ‘gifgasaanval van het Syrische bewind op Douma’ dusdanig heeft aangepast dat inderdaad het Syrische leger als schuldig werd aangewezen voor de gifgasaanval op Douma*, wordt er door de reguliere westerse media gesteld dat Rusland en de Syrische regering achter de lekken zit, waarmee ze proberen te ontkennen dat er een gifgasaanval plaatsvond…….. Ofwel de westerse massamedia houden gewoon vol dat ‘nog steeds vaststaat dat Syrië verantwoordelijk is voor de gifgasaanval op Douma’, terwijl al lang bekend is dat dit een smerige leugen is, een feit dat middels het lek binnen de OPCW op straat kwam te liggen, inclusief de documenten en mails die e.e.a. bewijzen……. So you know that Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) scandal we’ve been talking a lot about lately? The one where evidence keeps piling up that the US, UK and France launched airstrikes against the Syrian government last year in retaliation for a poison gas attack which never took place, and then manipulated an ostensibly independent and international chemical weapons watchdog organization into covering it up?
Well, it turns out that bigtime news media outlets haven’t been all that interested for some strange and mysterious reason. But just today they broke the silence with a new report that mentioned the scandal, and they’ve totally spun it in a way that makes the US and its allies look good! Can you believe that?
And you’ll never guess what excuse they’re using to spin it. Never in a million, billion years.
Put a pillow down on the floor, because your jaw’s about to drop like James Le Mesurier: believe it or not, they’re blaming it on Russian disinformation.
AFP, which just as an aside is one of only three gigantic news agencies that are responsible for most of the stories you see in the mass media, has put out an article that has been picked up by multiple mainstream media outlets titled “Showdown looms over Syria chemical weapons probe”.
The article deliberately frames the issue as one which has been “highlighted” by “Moscow”, and publishes a claim sourced to unnamed western officials that “the Russians and Syrians are trying to muddy the waters”.
“Moscow has consistently raised doubts over chemical attacks in Syria or insisted they were staged, and has recently highlighted a leaked report raising questions about a deadly chlorine attack in the Syrian town of Douma in April 2018,” AFP reports. “Western diplomats however say the Russians and Syrians are trying to muddy the waters about alleged attacks by President Bashar al-Assad’s forces.”
Never mind that the leaks themselves are intrinsically important and completely authentic, regardless of who’s “highlighting” them. Never mind that the leaks have been “highlighted” by many non-Russian outlets, ranging from small alternative platforms like my own here in Melbourne all the way up to as mainstream as the UK’s Daily Mail. All it takes is one Russian to talk about any issue of any kind and it can magically be spun as a talking point of Moscow, no matter how many westerners who have nothing to do with Russia are also talking about it.
The report’s author, Danny Kemp, has been spending time narrative managing about the OPCW scandal on Twitter as well. Kemp argues that WikiLeaks, who published a leaked internal email from the organisation on Sunday which challenges the establishment Douma narrative, doesn’t have trustworthy publications because WikiLeaks is associated with (you guessed it) Russia.

“Western source notes Russians are particularly sensitive re Douma because happened close to where their own troops were operating,” Kemp tweeted. “Also worth noting Mueller highlighted WikiLeaks role in publishing Russian-hacked DNC documents. Plus Russia was accused of hacking OPCW last year.”
Kemp’s baseless Russia smear is invalidated by the fact that multiple other outlets have also published the email, including the Daily Mail, and by the fact that Reuters has independently verified the email’s authenticity with a source in the OPCW.
The OPCW’s Director General Fernando Arias said during a convention at The Hague today that he fully supports the conclusions that were published in the OPCW’s final report on the Douma incident this past March, which asserted, contrary to everything the OPCW whistleblowers claim, that there was enough evidence to believe that a chemical weapon was used.
“On the first of March, 2019, the Fact Finding Mission issued its final report on the incident of alleged use of toxic chemical weapons in Douma on the seventh of April, 2018,” Arias said. “The evaluation and analysis of all the information gathered by the Fact Finding Mission provide reasonable grounds that the use of a toxic chemical as a weapon had taken place.”
“It is in the nature of any thorough inquiry for individuals in a team to express subjective views,” Arias added. “The overall conclusions of the inquiry, however, must be based on the preponderance of objective facts.”
“While some of these diverging views continue to circulate in certain public discussion forums, I would like to reiterate that I stand by the independent, professional conclusions reached by the Fact Finding Mission,” Arias said.
Again, everything Arias said is contradicted by what the whistleblowers from inside the aforementioned Fact Finding Mission have been saying:
The leaked email says chlorinated organic chemicals on the scene were as low as one or two parts per billion, meaning they were trace background levels you’d find in any industrialized area, and that the symptoms of the victims were inconsistent with chlorine gas poisoning.
The leaked Engineering Assessment signed by ballistics expert Ian Henderson states that the alleged chlorine cylinders were much more likely to have been manually placed on the ground than dropped from the air, meaning the incident would have been staged by the Jaysh al-Islam fighters occupying Douma and not the Syrian air force.
The information given to journalist Jonathan Steele by the whistleblower “Alex” lists even more inconsistencies with the OPCW report, claims that dissent from the final drafts of the OPCW’s Douma reports was a majority opinion within the team, and says investigators felt pressured both by OPCW management and an uncomfortable intercession by US government officials to come to a specific conclusion.
Given all this, there is no reason for anyone to feel at all confident that “the use of a toxic chemical as a weapon had taken place” in Douma.
In the hours since Arias finally gave them a denial of the OPCW scandal that they can use in their reporting, the mass media have suddenly broken their deafening silence on this important story.
Reports have come out on Arias’ defense of the official Douma reports from Reuters, AP and CBS explaining to readers that the OPCW’s head honcho says all the naughty people sharing unauthorized narratives about Douma are wrong. In a story about Syria and The Hague, the CBS article mentions the words “Russia” or “Russian” no fewer than twelve times, spinning the entire affair as nothing more than a Moscow-orchestrated conspiracy theory.
Here’s an excerpt from the CBS article, just to give you a taste of the conspiratorial-lunatic spin job they’re doing on something that amounts simply to authentic leaked information:
Russia and Syria have alleged that the incident was staged since soon after it took place. Russia even attempted to bolster its case by bringing individuals who it identified as Syrians seen in “staged” videos after the attack to testify to the OPCW at The Hague.
European OPCW members rejected the Russian-Syrian claims outright, and refused to attend the session at OPCW headquarters.
“This obscene masquerade does not come as a surprise from the Syrian government, which has massacred and gassed its own people for the last seven years,” France’s ambassador to the Netherlands, Philippe Lalliot, said in response.
I guess it’s nice to have some company on this important story after months and months of near-total silence, but man the spin’s making me dizzy.
Of course it’s not the mass media’s job to objectively report facts, it’s the mass media’s job to manufacture consent for the status quo upon which the media-owning plutocratic class is built. This status quo naturally includes the globe-spanning US-centralized empire and the endless war which glues the whole thing together. The narrative that this oligarchic power alliance has once again deceived the world about yet another military intervention in yet another Middle Eastern nation would do serious damage to people’s trust in the imperial propaganda machine, so the story will be ignored for as long as possible and then attacked with extreme aggression when that fails.

Als ik ‘s nachts naar bed ga, zet ik meestal nog even BBC World Service aan op de radio. Zo ook gisternacht rond 1.10 u. Onmiddellijk werd mijn aandacht getrokken doordat de naam Vanessa Beeley werd genoemd, zij is één van de beste oorlogscorrespondenten, die bovendien nog het echte ‘handwerk’ doet………
Aan het woord o.a. professor Scott Lucas van de Birmingham University. Deze schoft stelde dat oorlogscorrespondent Beeley en Sarah Abdallah een Libanese pro-Assad twitteraar (o.a. SyriaHoax hashtag) veel kwaad doen met hun werk en noemde hen zelfs gevaarlijk….. Niet dat de twee ook maar één keer zijn veroordeeld vanwege geweldpleging……..
Tja als je tegenwoordig de waarheid vertelt en die is tegen de huidige status quo, waar Rusland, Syrië en Iran de grote boosdoeners zijn (en niet juist de grootste terreurentiteit op aarde, de VS), ben je ‘natuurlijk’ staatsgevaarlijk en al helemaal als je daarbij Saoedi-Arabië (met o.a. de hulp van de VS) verwijt een genocide uit te voeren in Jemen (wat werkelijk zo is!)….
Dat ‘staatsgevaarlijk’ is dan ook wat je na een paar minuten in de uitzending meekreeg (al werd dit woord niet gebruikt, die suggestie werd wel degelijk gewekt; het woord gevaarlijk werd overigens wel gebruikt)….. Groot-Brittannië steunt S-A met deze genocide, zoals de VS dat ook doet, waarbij de laatste nog net wat verder gaat, o.a.: -met troepen op de Jemenitische bodem, -het bijtanken van Saoedische straaljagers zodat deze zo efficiënt mogelijk de sjiieten kunnen bombarderen en -zeeblokkades uitvoeren voor de havens waar humanitaire goederen kunnen worden aangevoerd voor de lijdende sjiitische bevolking van Jemen…… Ach en dan weet je het wel, men is ook in universiteiten afhankelijk van de overheid, zeker wat betreft wetgeving t.a.v. studie enz., dus dan ga je als ‘professor’ niet tekeer tegen de zich aan de genocide in Jemen scheel verdienende Britse overheid….. Dit terzijde om aan te geven hoever men wil gaan om ronduit staatsterreur te verdedigen……
Lucas stelt dat er een ‘informatie oorlog’ bezig is waar o.a. Beeley en Abdallah de grote foute partij zijn, die veel mensen bereiken met hun ‘desinformatie’ en samenzweringstheorieën…….. ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Het is juist volkomen andersom, zij ontwarren de schimmige samenzweringstheorieën die door de reguliere westerse media en politici worden verspreid! Lucas noemde de gifgasaanval van vorig jaar op Kahn Sheikhoun, waar o.a. Abdallah over stelde dat dit een false flag was om Syrië de schuld in de schoenen te schuiven en een VS aanval te ‘rechtvaardigen’ (terwijl de VS NB illegaal in Syrie zit!!).
Lucas stelde daarover dat de conclusies al werden getrokken toen het onderzoek nog bezig was….. Wat hij niet vertelde was het feit dat de VN inspecteurs stelden dat er geen aanval met sarin gas had plaatsgevonden en er wel sporen van chlorine waren gevonden, chlorine dat (alweer) NB in het bezit was van de Al Qaida groepering die daar de boel ‘onder controle’ (lees: onder het terreurbewind) had……… Deskundigen stelden dan ook dat de aanval van Syrische troepen op een terreurdoel was uitgemond in het raken van een voorraad chlorine, terwijl men nog steeds spreekt over sarin gas, wat Lucas zelf toevallig niet deed…….. Die leugen ging zelfs hem waarschijnlijk te ver, niet in de laatste plaats daar het bewijs van het tegengestelde te groot is……….
Overigens niet vreemd dat men eerder grote kritiek heeft op het direct stellen dat Syrië een gifgasaanval heeft uitgevoerd. Immers Lucas ‘vergeet’ voor het gemak dat juist het westen direct (soms zelfs binnen twee uur na een ‘aanval’) het Syrische leger aanwijst als dader…….. Alsof er dan al wel een onderzoek heeft plaatsgevonden….. ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha!
Eén ding is zeker mensen, nadat de sociale media werden beschuldigd van het brengen van fake news (nepnieuws), men mensen die wel met de waarheid op de proppen komen nu als gevaarlijk gaat neerzetten……. Als Beeley of Abdallah straks worden vermoord weten we wie de schuldigen zijn: Scott Lucas en de BBC, dat zelf ook met feiten veel van de praatjes van Lucas onderuit had kunnen halen, maar ja de BBC is nu eenmaal een grote rad in het verspreiden van anti-Rusland/Syrië/Iran propaganda en het brengen van fake news, zoals de BBC dat ook deed in aanloop naar de illegale VS oorlogen tegen Afghanistan, Irak, Libie en nu weer Syrië…. Waarbij niet moet worden vergeten dat deze BBC, een ‘onafhankelijke zendgemachtigde’, afhankelijk is van overheidssubsidies……… En nee dit heeft niets te maken met complotdenken, maar alles met het weergeven van feiten!!!
Tot slot wil ik nog wijzen op een video van de Jimmy Dore Show. Hij nagelt samen met Brigida Santos de BBC aan de paal voor het verdedigen van de westerse houding t.a.v. Syrië en Rusland. Aan de orde o.a. John Kerry die als minister van BuZa toegeeft dat Saoedi-Arabië een enorm deel betaalt van de kosten voor de illegale VS oorlog in Syrië….. Ook aan de orde waarom de VS nu echt in Syrië zit, niet alleen de weigering van Assad voor een gaspijpleiding, maar ook op aandringen van Israël en Saoedi-Arabië, dit om Assad weg te krijgen (en het land op te delen). Suggestief wordt een voormalig topofficier van de Britse marine ‘geïnterviewd, lord West (‘first sea lord’) die nog enigszins kritiek heeft op de aanname dat Syrië de gifgasaanval in Douma heeft gepleegd en kritiek heeft op de White Helmets, de interviewer zijn antwoorden probeert te verdraaien of zelfs suggereert dat hij het bij het verkeerde eind heeft….. Zo suggereert ze dat de schuldtoewijzing aan Syrië voor de gifgasaanval in Douma, niet door de eerste besten werden gedaan (zoals meerdere geheime diensten, journalisten en het SOHR, een propaganda orgaan van de terreurgroepen in Syrië), waar een aantal van deze ‘eerste besten’ wel degelijk eerder door de mand vielen, zoals voor de illegale oorlog van de VS (met militaire hulp van GB) tegen Irak eind 2002 en begin 2003…..
Kijken mensen, ‘de moeite’ meer dan waard (video via Information Clearing House):
Na veel vertraging heeft de Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) afgelopen zaterdag monsters genomen in Douma op de plek waar een gifgasaanval zou hebben plaatsgevonden. De missie wordt geëvalueerd door de OPCW en het United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS), een VN organisatie die voor de veiligheid van het OPCW team zorgt, waarna men wellicht zal beslissen het onderzoek nog eens te herhalen.
Uitlatingen van westerse politici zoals de Franse opperhufter Macron en de reguliere westerse media, als zouden Syrië en Rusland het onderzoeksteam expres hebben vertraagd, werden tegengesproken, de vertraging had alles te maken met de inschatting van de veiligheid door het UNDSS team……..
Voorts zouden Rusland en Syrië ‘de plaats delict’ hebben gemanipuleerd en zaken hebben verwijderd dan wel verborgen, aldus dezelfde westerse politici en media. Dat heeft de OPCW intussen weersproken, ofwel ook dit was (alweer) valse anti-Syrische/Russische propaganda……..
Macron en de media spelen wel een heel smerig spel in deze, uitlatingen dat Rusland en Syrië de zaak zouden hebben vertraagd, was al een enorme leugen, daar de VN Veiligheidsraad met meerderheid van stemmen besloot tegen een onderzoek door de OPCW te stemmen!! (een onderzoek waar nu juist Rusland en Syrië op aan hadden gedrongen….) De OPCW besloot zelfstandig een onderzoek te starten en als dit orgaan deze beslissing niet had genomen, was er nog niets gebeurd……….. Zoals gezegd: Als je de reguliere media (plus het grootste deel van de westerse politici) moest geloven waren het Syrië en Rusland die tegen een onderzoek waren, dezelfde media en politici die zo’n grote bek hebben over ‘fake news’, maar zoals ook uit deze zaak blijkt, zelf de grote leveranciers zijn van ‘fake news’ (of ‘nepnieuws’)……..
Beste lezer het gaat nog veel verder: de Franse president Macron en de Britse premier May logen na de ‘gifgasaanval’ over onomstotelijke bewijzen te beschikken, maar gaven deze niet vrij. Dezelfde Macron beweert nu dat Rusland en Syrië de zaak hebben verdoezeld in Douma, echter wat maakt dat uit, als je toch onomstotelijk bewijs hebt dat het Syrische bewind de schuldige is???? (en dan nogmaals: van manipulaties op de plaats waar de aanval plaatsvond is niets gebleken, zo heeft de OPCW vastgesteld……)
Intussen hebben meerdere bronnen gemeld dat er in het geheel geen gifgasaanval heeft plaatsgevonden in Douma, iets dat de toenadering tussen de VS en Rusland kan verklaren, immers in de VS zal men intussen wel begrepen hebben dat de aanval van de VS, Frankrijk en GB op Syrische doelen na de zogenaamde gifgasaanval, nooit had mogen plaatsvinden, ofwel dat was de zoveelste enorme oorlogsmisdaad van de VS en een paar van haar NAVO partners, de NAVO dat in feite onder opperbevel van de VS staat………..

Trouwens ongelofelijk dat je vanuit de reguliere westerse media en het grootste deel van de westerse politici, nooit commentaar hoort op het feit dat de door hen zo geliefde ‘gematigde rebellen’ (psychopathische moordenaars, verkrachters en martelbeulen) beschikken over gifgas, terwijl al lang bewezen is dat deze terreurgroepen daadwerkelijk gifgas hebben gebruikt, zoals bij de grote gifgasaanval in 2013, zo concludeerde zelfs een VN onderzoeksteam!! (nog steeds zegt men keihard in de westerse politiek en media dat deze aanval door het Assad bewind werd uitgevoerd…….)

OPCW Chemical Inspection Team Reaches Douma After Issuing Statement Negating “Russia Cover-Up” Claim
After many days of delay inside the security arch of Damascus’ city center, the international chemical weapons watchdog group, Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), announced that its team of investigators finally entered the Damascus suburb town of Douma early on Saturday.
In an official statement posted to its website, the OPCW confirmed the following:
The Fact-Finding Mission (FFM) team of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) visited one of the sites in Douma, Syrian Arab Republic today to collect samples for analysis in connection with allegations of chemical weapons use on 7 April 2018. The OPCW will evaluate the situation and consider future steps including another possible visit to Douma.
The OPCW Fact-Finding Mission will initially study the collected samples at an OPCW lab in the Netherlands, with potential sample distribution to its other designated labs. In the past, it’s take up to multiple weeks or months for the OPCW to issue a preliminary report to the public.
The samples collected will be transported to the OPCW Laboratory in Rijswijk and then dispatched for analysis to the OPCW’s designated labs. Based on the analysis of the sample results as well other information and materials collected by the team, the FFM will compile their report for submission to the States Parties to the Chemical Weapons Convention for their consideration.
It is unclear if any of what was collected includes tissue samples from corpses as it’s now being widely reported that the jihadist group which previously held the area – Jaish al-Islam – hastily buried the bodies of alleged chemical attack victims.
Though the team was invited into the country by the Syrian and Russian governments – both signatories to the international body devoted to decommissioning global stockpiles of banned chemical weapons – there’s been much spin and obfuscation regarding why the team was actually delayed, with a number of media outlets in the West falsely claiming that Syria and Russia were attempting a cover-up.
This was based in part on the unverified claims of political leaders in the West who have long sought Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s ouster, and who have given covert aid to various jihadist rebel groups.
France’s foreign minister, for example, accused both Damascus and Russia of “obstructionism [which] is obviously undermining the caliber of the investigation. It is most likely aimed at removing evidence and other material elements linked to the chemical attack on the very site where it took place.”
However, in spite of multiple international headlines, Western leaders, and journalists who reside far outside of Syria claiming a chemical cover-up conspiracy in the making, the OPCW in official statements confirmed that they were prevented from visiting Douma not by Syrian or Russian authorities, but by United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS), which has the final say over OPCW movements within Syria.
On 16 April, we received confirmation from the National Authority of the Syrian Arab Republic that, under agreements reached to allow the evacuation of the population in Ghouta, the Syrian military were unable to enter Douma. The security for the sites where the FFM plans to deploy was under the control of the Russian Military Police. The United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) has made the necessary arrangements with the Syrian authorities to escort the team to a certain point and then for the escort to be taken over by the Russian Military Police. However, the UNDSS preferred to first conduct a reconnaissance visit to the sites, which took place yesterday. FFM team members did not participate in this visit.
On arrival at Site 1, a large crowd gathered and the advice provided by the UNDSS was that the reconnaissance team should withdraw. At Site 2, the team came under small arms fire and an explosive was detonated. The reconnaissance team returned to Damascus.
Though the OPCW statement further acknowledged the area to be a “highly volatile environment” fraught with “security risks” – a number of journalists actually made it into Douma early in the week prior to the OPCW team’s arrival.
Zoals gewoonlijk maken wapenfabrikanten enorme winsten door oorlogen en ellende in ‘conflictgebieden’ (vooral gebieden waar de VS haar grootschalige terreur uitoefent…)…. Het gaat hier dan alleen nog om wapenfabrikanten die contracten hebben met het ministerie van illegale oorlogen in de VS…… Houd je vast: de aandelen van de fabrikanten (die mede de gebruikte kruisraketten fabriceerden), stegen na deze illegale aanvallen met maar liefst 10 miljard dollar….!!! Uiteraard ging de olieprijs ook omhoog en profiteerden de oplichters van de oliemaffia (de grote oliebedrijven) evenzeer van deze oorlogshandelingen, immers er dreigde door deze aanval een grootschalige oorlog met Rusland en zoals je begrijpt: voor oorlogsvoering is een enorme hoeveelheid benzine, diesel, stookolie en kerosine nodig……… Vorige week maandag zakten deze koersen weer enigszins toen bleek dat Rusland, zoals gewoonlijk de laatste jaren, wel haar verstand gebruikte en niet de strijd aanging met terreurentiteiten VS, GB en Frankrijk……..
Zo zie je maar, er is een enorme groep mensen (vooral aandeelhouders en de top van wapenfabrieken) die profiteert van oorlogen en de enorme ellende onder de bevolkingen die deze moeten doorstaan…….. Waar de wapenfabrikanten in de VS ook nog eens de republikeinen steunen, die tegen de opname zijn van ook maar 1 vluchteling uit door de VS in oorlog gedompelde landen…… De hoogste tijd dat wapenfabrikanten worden aangeklaagd bij het internationaal strafhof (ICC), daar zij in feite de medeverantwoordelijken zijn voor het enorme aantal doden, waar de VS alleen deze eeuw al verantwoordelijk voor is, intussen meer dan 20 miljoen (moorden…)……

With Trump delivering on his promise this weekend, the rally on Wall Street continues. A barrage of 118 (or more) U.S. Tomahawk cruise missiles rained down on Syria Friday night—Trump’s punishment for the alleged chemical weapons attack carried out by Bashar al-Assad’s government in Douma (for which the world is still awaiting hard evidence). Trump’s tweet on April 9 that he would be taking action against Syria launched the stock prices of some of America’s major defense suppliers into the skies, and they are still climbing. For Raytheon (RTN), the company which manufactures the Tomahawk cruise missiles used against Syria, nearly $2.5 billion has been added to the company’s market value. Add together the gains from other top weapons makers Lockheed Martin (LMT), General Dynamics (GD), Boeing (BA), and Northrop Grumman (NOC), and it becomes apparent just how profitable a business war can be. Lockheed Martin makes the tactical control system, another of the required components of the Tomahawk launch apparatus. General Dynamics, meanwhile, manufactures the missile’s firing system. Boeing builds the B-1 bombers used in the strikes as well as its own variety of cruise missiles, while Northrop Grumman produces radar systems and other bombers, like the B-2 Stealth. The investor crowd was giddy about the money-making opportunities last week. On the stock tip blog “The Street” on Friday, trader Stephen Guilfoyle was recommending “4 Hot Defense Stocks for Syria,” telling his readers, “The world remains dangerous, and dangerous ‘toys’ are increasingly in demand.” For the American people, the immediate cost of subsidizing the profits of war was at least $165 million—just for the Tomahawk missiles themselves, which cost the government $1.4 million each. This, of course, doesn’t account for the tens of millions of dollars or more that it cost to mobilize the equipment and forces necessary to carry out the air strikes. Even though this round of strikes is being spun as a one-night affair, it is actually part of a sustained campaign in Syria and across the Middle East aimed at protecting U.S. dominance against the growth of Iranian and Russian influence. Almost exactly a year ago, there was a round of air strikes on Syria over another alleged chemical attack, and U.S. troops have been on the ground inside the country since late 2015. With known war-hawks now holding prominent positions in the cabinet—including John Bolton as National Security Advisor, Mike Pompeo as Secretary of State, and Gina Haspel as head of the CIA—the likelihood that this weekend’s missile strikes were a one-off event are next to nil. Terwijl de reguliere westerse media en de meeste westerse politici hun gal spuwen over de ‘gifgasaanval’ in het Syrische Douma, zijn er gelukkig nog een aantal deskundigen die grote vraagtekens zetten bij het kulverhaal dat een winnend Syrisch leger alsnog haar eigen bevolking zou hebben vergast…..
Naast Ron Paul, voormalig lid van het VS Huis van Afgevaardigden, die het hele verhaal afdoet als nonsens, heeft ook voormalig Britse marine generaal Alan West grote vraagtekens gezet bij het verhaal over deze gifgasaanval.
West noemt het militair totaal onlogisch, terwijl hij stelt dat wanneer hij de terreurgroepen van advies moest dienen, hij hen zou adviseren een gifgasaanval op de bevolking uit te voeren, deze groepen hebben immers al lang aangetoond lak te hebben aan burgerslachtoffers…..
Bij Sky News vroeg men de voormalige commandant van de Britse strijdkrachten in Irak, generaal Jonathan Shaw naar de gifgasaanval. Ook hij stelde dat het onlogisch was voor een winnend leger om gifgas in te zetten, daar het Syrisch leger in feite de strijd al had gewonnen. Hij gaf daarbij de woorden weer van generaal Vogel, hoofd van CENTCOM, die voor het VS Congress stelde dat de VS moet accepteren dat het Syrische leger de strijd heeft gewonnen……
Hij haalde ook Trump aan, die een week eerder had gesteld dat ISIS overwonnen was en hij de troepen terug wilde roepen, waarna er ‘toevallig’ een chemische aanval plaats vond (vrij vertaald).
Voordat hij z’n verhaal kon afmaken, werd het gesprek afgekapt, had hij zich maar aan het script moeten houden, het script dat Assad als dader aanwijst en waarin ‘ongelofelijk genoeg’ het grootste deel van de westerse wereld gelooft, na te zijn gehersenspoeld door de reguliere westerse (massa-) media en het grootste deel van de westerse politici, die maar geen genoeg kunnen krijgen van het spuien van gal over deze ‘gifgasaanval……’ Voorts moet niet vergeten worden dat de ‘gematigde rebellen’ (lees: psychopathische moordenaars, verkrachters en martelbeulen) in het bezit zijn van voorraden gifgas. And RT spoke about the Russian claims with Lord Alan West, a retired officer of the British Royal Navy. He said he had strong reservations about taking allegations against Damascus at face value, because it didn’t make much military sense.
“It seems to be utterly ludicrous for the military that is in the process of taking over an area to go and do something with chemical weapons, which will draw the wrath of the larger enemy down upon them,” he said.
“If I was advising the opponents of [Syrian President Bashar] Assad, I would be delighted to kill a few people there. Let’s face it, [the insurgents] don’t care if they kill women and children.”
“I am not willing to accept tweets. We need to see incontrovertible truth about what has happened there and make a decision on that basis,” he added.
But, to confirm the fact that the propaganda-pushed ‘Assad-is-bad’ narrative is all that is allowed, when General Jonathan Shaw, the former Commander of British Armed Forces in Iraq, dares to go ‘off script’ while being interviewed by Sky News, he is abruptly cut off…

“…the debate that seems to be missing from all this – and this was mentioned by the [Russian] ambassador – is what possible motive might Syria have to launch a chemical attack at this time and in this place…

General Vogel, the head of CENTCOM, said to Congress the other day that ‘Assad has won this war and we need to face that’, and the tweet by Trump last week that ‘America had finished with ISIS and were going to pull out very soon’…and then suddenly you get these accusations of a chemical attack…”

Je hebt van die dagen beste bezoeker…… Zoals gisteren, na 15.30 u. zette ik Radio1 op en tot mijn ontsteltenis zat leeghoofd de Hoop Scheffer (tegenwoordig zelfs hoogleraar… ha! ha! ha!) in de studio, normaal genoeg om onmiddellijk een andere zender te zoeken, daar ik al kotsmisselijk wordt als ik deze kwijl hoor, maar gezien de hachelijke situatie in Syrië besloot ik toch te luisteren.
Het begon al goed toen de Hoop Scheffer werd gevraagd naar zijn mening over de schuldige aan ‘de gifgasaanval’ in Douma, stelde hij dat dit ‘zeer waarschijnlijk’ het Syrische bewind is…….’ Waarom vraag je je af? Nou simpel: omdat Assad dit al veel vaker heeft gedaan……… De zoveelste zogenaamde deskundige die keihard het Nederlandse volk (Radio1) voorliegt. Alsof deze maffe loopjongen van het militair-industrieel complex in de VS en de regering daar niet kan weten dat dit alles gelul is. De Hoop Scheffer durfde zelfs de grote gifgasaanval in 2013 aan te halen als bewijs………
Die aanval is na uitgebreid onderzoek, o.,a. door Carla del Ponte voor de VN, toegewezen aan de ‘gematigde rebellen…..’ (ofwel: psychopathische moordenaars, verkrachters en martelbeulen, die met instemming van het westen beschikken over voorraden gifgas; ook dat moet de H.S. weten). Ofwel de Hoop Scheffer toont zich voor de zoveelste keer een ongelofelijke leugenaar…….
Ook de uitlatingen van Macron als zou Frankrijk bewijzen in handen hebben, was voor de Hoop Scheffer van belang voor zijn ‘zeer waarschijnlijk’ oordeel…… Jammer dat Macron die bewijzen dan niet toont aan de wereld, maar daar zullen wel redenen voor zijn, als je de H.S. moet geloven……..
Ik ging pas echt op het puntje van m’n stoel zitten toen de Hoop Scheffer werd gevraagd naar een dergelijk voorval uit het verleden: de massavernietigingswapens die Saddam Hoessein zou hebben en op basis waarvan de VS in 2003 de illegale oorlog tegen Irak begon, terwijl ook deze bewering was gebaseerd op leugens, waarvoor de H.S. destijds zelfs was gewaarschuwd……….
Je zal het niet geloven (ik donderde van m’n stoel), maar de Hoop Scheffer zei desgevraagd dat hij nog volledig achter zijn besluit staat om de VS te steunen in deze illegale oorlog, eerst politiek en daarna zelfs militair op de grond! (over dat laatste lult men in de reguliere media al lang niet meer….) Als beloning mocht de H.S. zich een paar jaar lang secretaris-generaal van de NAVO noemen, terwijl de echte macht in de NAVO alleen bij de VS ligt, zie het militaire opperbevel binnen de NAVO door de jaren heen….. Bovendien grijpt de NAVO alleen in als de VS akkoord is (en daartoe het bevel geeft)…..
De Hoop Scheffer stelde dat alle inlichtingen er destijds op wezen dat Irak inderdaad massavernietigingswapens had, waar hij zelfs Colin Powell aanhaalde die dit in de VN nog eens ‘had bewezen……’ (middels een enorme leugen) Zoals gezegd: De Hoop Scheffer was gewaarschuwd door echte deskundigen als VN wapeninspecteur Blix en zelfs onze eigen geheime diensten hadden hun twijfels en brachten die over aan de H.S., die destijds minister van Defensie uh Oorlog en grootlobbyist voor het militair-industrieel complex was………..
Intussen staat de teller aan vermoorde Irakezen sinds het begin van de oorlog in 2003 op 1,5 miljoen mensen en toch stelt de Hoop Scheffer nog achter zijn beslissing te staan die illegale oorlog te steunen……. Deze steun kwam hij destijds met de Zeeuwse gemuteerde kleiaardappel Balkenende, beiden met de pet in de hand, ‘s morgens vroeg bij de dienstingang van het Witte Huis aanbieden….. ha! ha! ha! Een sketch waardig!
Nee, geen probleem die 1,5 miljoen vermoorde Irakezen voor opperhufter de Hoop Scheffer, een massamoord waar hij mede verantwoordelijk voor is…… (ofwel; de Hoop Scheffer is een oorlogsmisdadiger en bepaald niet de kleinste!)
Wat betreft de ‘gifgasaanval’ in Douma stelde de Hoop Scheffer dat de VS niet te lang moet wachten met wraakneming (zo noemde hij dat uiteraard niet), nee men moet nu doorpakken nou goed! Dit terwijl het niet eens duidelijk is of er wel een gifgasaanval was en door wie die werd gepleegd…… Nogmaals: de terreurgroepen in Ghouta, als op de plekken waar deze groepen zich eerder in de rest van Syrië hebben opgehouden, beschikten en beschikken over voorraden gifgas……. Zij waren het die belang hadden bij deze beschuldigingen, daar ze op het punt stonden Douma en de rest van Oost-Ghouta uit te worden geschopt door het Syrische leger dat daar geen gifgas voor behoefde te gebruiken……… .
Zoals we nu weten, de Hoop Scheffer heeft zijn zin gekregen: de VS, GB en Frankrijk hebben ‘doorgepakt’ en afgelopen nacht volkomen illegaal Syrië aangevallen…… Nogmaals: een aanval die niet is gebaseerd op bewijs, maar zoals eerder gesteld op aannames en leugens…..*
Over de uitlating van Lavrov, de Russische ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken, die stelde dat de gifgasaanval in scene was gezet met behulp van ‘een geheime dienst’**, zei de Hoop Scheffer dat het typisch is dat Lavrov ‘natuurlijk niet de naam noemt van het land waarvoor die dienst werkt’, ofwel de H.S. stelt dat dit een fantasieverhaal is………. Terwijl het westen o.l.v. de VS haar schuldig al heeft uitgesproken over de Syrische regering, gebaseerd op niets, ofwel nul komma nada bewijs, maar dat is voor de H.S. geen probleem! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha!
Syrië is een chaos en dat zal voorlopig wel zo blijven aldus een open deur intrappende de Hoop Scheffer…. Inderdaad de Hoop Scheffer en dat is aan het westen te danken, zoals ook Libië volkomen naar god is geholpen door de VS met de NAVO aan de lijn en is het in Afghanistan en Irak nog steeds een ongelofelijke chaos, waar een groot deel van de steden in puin werden gebombardeerd, vooral door de VS, dezelfde VS waar de H.S. zo’n grote fan van is……….
Hoe is ‘t godverdomme mogelijk dat deze enorme koekwaus, leugenaar en oorlogsmisdadiger de Hoop Scheffer hoogleraar mag spelen….???? En dan durft men nog te klagen over de belabberde kwaliteit van het Nederlandse onderwijs….. ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha!
De aanval afgelopen nacht van de VS, Groot-Brittannie en Frankrijk op Syrische doelen is een enorme schending van de Geneefse conventies en het oorlogsrecht in het algemeen! Bovendien is dit de zoveelste schoffering van de VN, daar er geen resolutie lag en de VN nog met een onderzoek naar de vermeende gifgasaanval in Douma moet beginnen (het begin daarvan stond gepland voor morgen…….)……
Zonder enig bewijs voor een gifgasaanval en de schuld daarvoor, hebben de VS, GB en Frankrijk de wereld op de rand van een kernoorlog gebracht…….
Laten we hopen op het gezonde verstand van Rusland, zoals dit land de afgelopen jaren heeft laten zien en zich niet tot geweld heeft laten uitlokken bij meerdere false flag operaties, waarna grootschalige westerse terreur werd gebruikt, terreur waartoe ook de oorlogsmisdaad van afgelopen nacht behoort……
VS likker Rutte, de wanpresterend VVD premier van ons land had het gore lef te stellen dat hij begrip heeft voor deze terreuraanvallen op Syrische doelen, hij noemde deze “proportioneel en weloverwogen……” ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Dus zonder enig bewijs een ander land bombarderen, zoals gezegd een smerige oorlogsmisdaad, noemt ‘onze’ premier “proportioneel en weloverwogen….”
Hoe gek moet je zijn, of beter: hoe kan je het Nederlandse volk een nog groter rad voor de ogen draaien??? Hebben we dan niets geleerd van de illegale oorlog tegen Irak, NB een oorlog die tot nu toe 1,5 miljoen Irakezen het leven heeft gekost (ofwel die zijn mede met Nederlandse politieke en militaire steun vermoord……*), een oorlog die al even illegaal was als de aanval van afgelopen nacht en waarvoor ‘de reden’ ook was gebaseerd op keiharde leugens…….

Hoeveel weet men niet daar onderzoek onmogelijk is…… ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Hoe kan men dan wel weten dat er maar in 4 van deze bombardementsvluchten burgerslachtoffers zijn gevallen??!!! Overigens had Nederland al onder Balkenende-1 militairen op de grond in Irak….. Let wel: volgens de luchtmacht leugenaars, tevens lobbyisten voor de JSF en daarmee Lockheed Martin, plus politici-lobbyisten voor diezelfde waardeloze JSF, de F16’s, die godbetert 1.800 bombardementen hebben uitgevoerd, van ellende uit de lucht vallen……. De enorme anti-Syrische en Russische propaganda n.a.v. de ‘gifgasaanval’ op Douma, is zonder meer hysterisch te noemen en is niets anders dan het bespelen van de publieke opinie voor een volledige oorlog tegen het democratisch gekozen Syrische bewind……… (je kan hier rustig van hersenspoelen spreken)
De schrijver van het volgende artikel heeft de zaken nog eens op een duidelijke rij gezet en kan dan ook niet anders dan tot de conclusie komen dat de VS en haar bondgenoten uit zijn op een oorlog met Rusland, ofwel WOIII……. Onder andere aandacht voor de ‘gifgasaanval’ op Khan Sheikhoun vorig jaar en de enorme leugens die later werden doorgeprikt…… Ondanks dat blijft men volhouden dat Syrië achter de aanval zat, hetzelfde geldt voor de gifgasaanval in 2013, deze werd in de schoenen van Assad geschoven, maar bewezen door de ‘gematigde rebellen’ uitgevoerd >> dagelijks hoor je de laatste dagen (sinds de ‘gifgasaanval’ op Douma) onder meer op de landelijke nieuws- en actualiteiten radiozenders Radio1, BNR, BBC World Service, Radio Nova Scotia en WDR de leugen herhaalt worden dat het reguliere Syrische leger verantwoordelijk was voor deze aanval……..
Voorts wordt nog eens aangegeven hoe blij de bewoners van door het Syrische leger bevrijdde gebieden zijn, blij van de vreselijke terreur af te zijn, waaronder zij moesten leven…..

As reported at Tass, the Chief of Russia’s General Staff, Valery Gerasimov, predicted the current events almost a month ago. The report from March 13 says:
Russia has hard facts about preparations for staging the use of chemical weapons against civilians by the government forces. After the provocation, the U.S. plans to accuse Syria’s government forces of using chemical weapons … furnish the so-called ‘evidence’ … and Washington plans to deliver a missile and bomb strike against Damascus’ government districts.”
Gerasimov noted that Russian military advisors are staying in the Syrian Defense Ministry’s facilities in Damascus and “in the event of a threat to our military servicemen’s lives, Russia’s Armed Forces will take retaliatory measures to target both the missiles and their delivery vehicles.”
The situation is clearly dangerous with risk of sliding into international conflict and even WW3. If that happens, it would mean the demise of civilization. All of this so that the West can continue supporting the sectarian armed groups seeking to overthrow the Assad government … in violation of international law and the UN Charter.

They don’t like the fact that the U.S. is losing influence, prestige and power around the world. Israel and Saudi Arabia are especially upset that their plans for regional domination are failing.
East Ghouta, Damascus
East Ghouta is a district of farms and towns on the north-east outskirts of Damascus. For the past six years, various armed factions controlled the area. On a nearly daily basis, they launched mortar and hell cannon missile attacks into Damascus, killing many thousands. This author personally witnessed two such mortar attacks in April 2014.
By the end of March, most of East Ghouta had been retaken by the government. With the peaceful evacuation of armed militants, civilians flooded into the humanitarian corridors and then government camps for the displaced. The campaign was proceeding quickly with minimal loss of life as the Russian Reconciliation officers negotiated agreements which allowed the militants to keep small weapons and be transported to Idlib in the north. Vanessa Beeley documented the situation including the happiness and relief of many civilians as they finally made it to safety. One described the feeling as “like being reborn”. Robert Fisk was on site and reported what he saw firsthand in stories titled Watching on as Islamist fighters are evacuated from war-torn Eastern Ghouta and Western howls of outrage over the Ghouta siege ring hollow.

As reported at the Russian Reconciliation Centre, by the end of March, 105,857 civilians had moved into government-controlled areas while 13,793 militants plus 23,433 family members had been transported north. Those who wanted to stay, including former fighters, were welcomed. They could rejoin Syrian society with the same rights and obligations as other Syrians.
The last remaining opposition stronghold was the town of Douma, controlled by the Saudi funded Jaish al Islam. Negotiations were prolonged because Jaish al Islam did not want to go to Idlib which is dominated by another militant opposition group, Jabhat al Nusra also known as Hayat Tahrir al-Sham.
The Chemical Incident
On Saturday, April 7 video and stories claiming a chemical weapons attack in Douma were broadcast. The video showed dozens of dead children. On Sunday the story grabbed western mainstream media headlines. U.S. President Trump quickly came to a conclusion, President Putin, Russia and Iran are responsible for backing Animal Assad. Big price to pay.”

There has been no objective investigation. The media claims are based on statements and videos from members of the Syrian American Medical Society (SAMS) and White Helmets. Both organizations receive significant funding from the U.S. government and call for Western intervention in Syria.
Chemical weapons have emerged as the quick and easy justification for aggression. One year ago, in April 2017, it was the incident at Khan Shaykoun. That resulted in a U.S. attack on a Syrian air base just days later. The subsequent investigation discovered that dozens of victims had shown up in hospitals in diverse locations and up to 100 kms away from the scene of crime BEFORE the event happened.
Strangely, and indicating the investigation team’s bias, this red flag pointing to fraud was not investigated further. If it was just a few victims or just one location, it might be a mistake in time record-keeping. However, in this case, there were dozens of discrepancies in multiple locations, clearly raising the possibility of fraud.
Now we have the incident in Douma, a town on the outskirts of Damascus. The armed opposition is in retreat. They have tried to pressure the US and NATO to intervene directly since 2012. They have access to chemical weapons in East Ghouta and a motive. They also have thousands of prisoners. This is the group which put hundreds of prisoners, primarily women, and children, in cages on the streets of Douma.
Who Benefits?
The timing of the chemical weapons incidents is also noteworthy. As documented here, one year ago on 30 March 2017 Ambassador Haley said the U.S. policy was no longer focused on getting Assad out. Five days later the chemical incident at Khan Sheikhoun happened, quickly followed by blaming the Syrian government, a U.S. attack and a restoration of the demand that “Assad must go”. On March 29 Trump said that U.S. forces will withdraw from Syria “very soon”. This was followed by outcries from the media and political establishment. Now, following the Saturday chemical weapons incident, the U.S. is again threatening to intervene directly. The chemical weapons incidents have consistently resulted in the reversal of a proposed change in hostility toward Syria.
Neoconservatives and the supporters of ‘regime change’ foreign policy have various theories why the Assad government would perpetrate a chemical weapons attack. Senator John McCain says the Syrian President was “emboldened” by the previous Trump statement.
Juan Cole, an academic who promoted the assaults on Libya in 2011, has a different theory. He says:,“Chemical weapons are used by desperate regimes that are either outnumbered by the enemy or are reluctant to take casualties in their militaries. Barrel-bombing Douma with chem seems to have appealed to the regime as a tactic for this reason. It had potential of frightening the Douma population into deserting the Army of Islam.” In contrast with his theory, chemical weapons were used extensively by the U.S. in Vietnam and Iraq when they were far from desperate. As evidenced in the flow of civilians into government-held areas, most of the civilian population are happy to get away from the sectarian and violent Army of Islam (“Jaish al Islam”). Cole seems to be basing his theories on inaccurate western media coverage just as he did regarding Libya where sensational claims about a looming massacre in Benghazi were later shown to be fraudulent.
It’s clear who benefits from sensational media coverage about a chemical weapons incident: those who seek to demonize the Syrian government and President and want the U.S. government to intervene militarily. Every time there is an incident, it is quickly accepted and used by the governments and organizations who have been seeking ‘regime change’ in Syria for many years.
Manipulating Public Opinion

The manipulation of western opinion about the Syrian conflict using fake events is not theory; it has been proven. A good example is the fake kidnapping of NBC reporter Richard Engel in December 2012. Engel and his media team were reportedly kidnapped and threatened with death by “Shabiha” supporters of the Syrian president. After days in captivity, the American team was supposedly rescued by Free Syrian Army “rebels” after a shootout. In 2015 it was confirmed this was a hoax perpetrated by the FSA and their American supporters. The entire charade was carried out by the “rebels”. The goal was to demonize the Assad government and its supporters and to romanticize and increase support for the armed opposition. Neither Engel nor NBC confessed to the reality until it was about to be exposed years later, pointing to duplicity and collusion in the deception.
Four and half years ago, on 21 August 2013, the most famous chemical weapons incident occurred. The Syrian government was immediately accused of launching a sarin attack which killed hundreds of children and civilians. Over the next six months, investigations were carried out. The conclusions of Seymour Hersh, Robert Parry and the research site whoghouta.com concluded that the attack was almost certainly NOT from the government but actually from one of the ‘rebel’ factions with support from Turkish intelligence services. Two Turkish parliamentary deputies held a press conference and publicly revealed some of the evidence. The intent then, as now, was to provide justification and provocation for the U.S. and NATO to intervene directly.
An Imminent Attack
Today there is the imminent possibility of a major attack based on the allegations of a clearly biased source. Whatever happened to international law and legal due process? Why is violence being threatened before there is a serious objective investigation of the chemical incident? If the accusations against Syria are true, why not have a serious investigation, especially now that the area has been liberated today (9 April) and safe access can be provided?
The drums of war are pounding. After over one year of incessant Russia bashing and disinformation, is the public ready to go to war with Russia over Syria? Neoconservative hawks and their Israeli and Saudi allies seem to want this. Their plans and predictions for Iraq, Libya and Yemen were delusional fantasies with the price paid in blood by the people of those countries and in treasure by Americans as well. Sadly, there has not been any accountability for the media and political establishment that promoted and launched these wars. Now they want to escalate the aggression by attacking Syria, causing vastly more blood to flow and risking a confrontation with a country which can fight back.

Al meer dan een maand geleden werd bekend gemaakt dat in het Syrische gebied Oost-Ghouta waar o.a. de stad Douma ligt, de ‘gematigde rebellen’ (psychopathische moordenaars die beschikken over gifgas, zoals bekend in het westen…..*) bezig waren met de voorbereiding van een gifgasaanval en dat er i.d.d. een grote hoeveelheid chlorine werd opgeslagen (zie o.a. de eerste links opgenomen onder het artikel van Anti-Media)……..
Het is dan ook volkomen duidelijk dat het bij de gifgasaanval op Douma om de zoveelste ‘false flag’ operatie gaat. Tot nu toe zijn alle gifgasaanvallen in Syrië, die sinds de strijd daar begon en die onafhankelijk werden onderzocht, toegeschreven aan de ‘gematigde rebellen….’ Ondanks deze kennis blijft men volhouden dat Assad de schuldige is, zoals de grote gifgasaanval van 2013, die naderhand door de VN aan de ‘gematigde rebellen’ werd toegeschreven……. (nog steeds wordt niet alleen in de politiek, maar zelfs in de media volgehouden dat dit een gifgasaanval was, die werd gepleegd door het Assad regime…….. En maar lullen over ‘fake news……’)
Ongelofelijk dat men gisteren ‘al wist wie de schuldige is’, Donald ‘Joker’ Trump had maar een half woord nodig om tekeer te gaan tegen Assad……. Benieuwd of hij daar de dagen ervoor al op had geoefend, immers deze aanval is minstens met medeweten van de VS gepleegd……..
Als één van de betrouwbare bronnen werden uiteraard de White Helmets genoemd, een steungroep voor Al Qaida en andere terreurgroepen in Syrië……. Ondanks dat er voldoende bewijs is voor het zich schuldig maken aan terreur door de White Helmets, plus de verdere steun van deze zogenaamde humanitaire hulporganisatie voor de terreurgroepen, o.a door als spreekbuis te dienen voor deze terroristen (die vreselijke misdaden hebben begaan in Syrië), blijven westerse politici en de reguliere westerse media deze groep als een ‘humanitaire hulporganisatie’ zien…….
Tja, als eerste moet je je altijd afvragen bij dergelijke aanvallen, wie heeft er het meest baat bij, daarna is de vraag ‘waarom’ meestal heel makkelijk te beantwoorden, waarbij alleen nog het wachten is op de bevestiging van je vermoeden. Tegelijk moet je je afvragen wat de door de politiek en media aangewezen schuldige er voor baat bij had om een dergelijke aanval te doen….
Gezien alle beschuldigingen aan het adres van de Syrische regering, zou het nogal dom zijn om een dergelijke aanval uit te voeren, zeker daar het Syrische leger zonder dit soort oorlogsmisdaden de terroristen steeds verder terugdringt…….. Daarnaast hebben internationale chemische wapenexperts gezegd, dat het Syrische leger geen chemische wapens meer heeft (dit bijvoorbeeld i.t.t. De VS, die ze al lang had moeten vernietigen….)…. De ‘gematigde rebellen’ hebben baat bij deze beschuldiging, daar ze op het punt staan verdreven te worden uit Douma (nogmaals: al voor deze gifgasaanval)……. Daarbij rekent men op de steun van de VS in de strijd tegen het reguliere Syrische leger……. Bovendien hebben deze ‘gematigde rebellen’ de beschikking over gifgas (zie ook de noot * onder het hierna opgenomen artikel)
Al is een dergelijke handelswijze, het afwegen wie er baat heeft bij deze aanval, in dit geval niet eens nodig, daar zoals gezegd alle voorgaande gifgasaanvallen aan de gematigde rebellen zijn toegeschreven. Behalve dacht ik die op Khan Sheikhoun, daar de terreurgroep ter plaatse een onderzoekscommissie waaraan ook de Russen zouden deelnemen, categorisch hebben geweigerd (met steun van de VS)…….. Hoewel er naderhand bewijzen te over waren, voor de claim dat zoals gezegd een voorraad chlorine van deze terroristen werd geraakt bij een bombardement van de Syrische luchtmacht……
Gezien de uiterst fanatieke, veel te snelle reactie van Trump en o.a. plork Macron, de Franse president, moet gevreesd worden dat deze figuren de Russen zullen uitdagen door het voortouw te nemen om Damascus en andere steden, van het legitieme, democratisch gekozen Syrische bewind, te bombarderen……… We mogen hopen dat Putin, zoals hij al vaker heeft gedaan, zijn verstand zal gebruiken, anders zijn de ‘oorlogsrapen’ definitief gaar……
Trouwens, op 26 februari maakte de anti-Assad propaganda machine bekend dat er een gifgasaanval op Oost-Ghouta zou zijn gepleegd, zoals nu blijkt ‘een beetje voortijdig….’
Trump Threatens Putin and “Animal Assad” Over Syrian Chemical Attack
Remember when the US admitted Syrian “rebels” have used chemical weapons? Or when earlier this year, the now former Secretary of State blamed Russia for an alleged Syrian chemical attack, despite admitting he doesn’t know who actually did it?Or when the US finally admitted there was “no evidence” Assad used sarin gas? Or just last week, when Trump said that the US is finally pulling out of Syria as a result of the defeat of ISIS (much to the Pentagon’s fury and open-ended timetable for extracting Syrian resources)?
Well, maybe you do, but the neocons areback in charge of US war preparations foreign policy – now that war hawk John Bolton is Trump’s National Security Advisor – are so stuck with the age-old narrative that Assad is desperate to be bombed at any cost, that none of this actually matters, and instead the big story overnight is once again that, lo and behold, Assad decided to gas some “rebels” again, despite now overwhelmingly winning the war against US-backed insurgents, and despite knowing very well that exactly one year ago an alleged “chemical attack” prompted Trump to launch dozens of Tomahawks at Syria.
This is what happened (if you’ve seen this script played out before, you are not alone).
On Saturday night, an alleged chemical attack on a rebel-held town in eastern Ghouta reportedly killed dozens of people, according to US-linked medical services with Washington immediately responding that the reports – if confirmed – would demand an immediate international response. Actually scratch the “if confirmed” part – after all, the last time the US “intervened” in Syria, on April 7, 2017, the US did not need confirmation; Trump just needed a geopolitical distraction.
It seems that he needs another one again, and ideally one that shows just how angry he is with Putin now that an interview with Mueller is reportedly imminent.
A joint statement by the medical relief organization Syrian American Medical Society (SAMS) and the civil defense service, which operates in rebel-held areas, said 49 people had died in the attack late on Saturday. Others put the toll at 150 or more.

The response from the Assad side was similarly predictable: the Syrian regime, whose overthrow the US failed to achieve in the course of the 6 year proxy war in order to facilitate the transport of Qatari natural gas to Europe, denied its forces had launched any chemical attack as the reports began circulating and said the rebels were collapsing and fabricating news.
The Syrian state news agency SANA said Jaish al-Islam was making “chemical attack fabrications in an exposed and failed attempt to obstruct advances by the Syrian Arab army,” citing an official source.
Meanwhile, Reuters said it could not independently verify the reports. Others did the same: The Syrian Observatory said it could not confirm whether chemical weapons had been used in the attack on Saturday.
But, as we noted above, who needs confirmation: after all, if the 2013 “chemical attack” that started it all and was later proven to be a hoax was sufficient, just do the same. And sure enough, a video uploaded by “local media activists” allegedly showed bodies of victims – including women and children – of the reported chemical attack in Douma. Once again, nobody has actually confirmed if anyone has died.

Meanwhile, the US, itching for that military spending GDP boost was ready with the outraged retort: the U.S. State Department said reports of mass casualties from the attack were “horrifying” and would, if confirmed, “demand an immediate response by the international community”. At the same time, Britain’s
Foreign Office also called the reports, if confirmed, “very concerning” and said “an urgent investigation is needed and the international community must respond. We call on the Assad regime and its backers, Russia and Iran, to stop the violence against innocent civilians.”
Note the “if confirmed” part, and keep an eye on how the narrative switches from that to “the attack was confirmed.” If the Skripal case is any indication, just repeating it often enough, should be sufficient.
Trump already did his part on Sunday morning, when he tweeted several statements on the alleged attack as if it was already confirmed, just as one would expect to accelerate the escalation:

Then, for good measure, Trump decided to throw Obama under the bus for not crossing his “red line in the sand”, once again assuming the attack was confirmed.
If President Obama had crossed his stated Red Line In The Sand, the Syrian disaster would have ended long ago! Animal Assad would have been history!
After the alleged attack, State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauret recalled a 2017 sarin gas attack in northwestern Syria that the West and the United Nations blamed on Assad’s government. “The Assad regime and its backers must be held accountable and any further attacks prevented immediately,” she said adding that “The United States calls on Russia to end this unmitigated support immediately and work with the international community to prevent further, barbaric chemical weapons attacks.”
The US also said yet again that Russia is “ultimately bearing responsibility” for all chemical incidents in Syria, regardless of who carried them out, after rebel sources accused Damascus of gassing dozens in Eastern Ghouta’s Douma. In other words, even if the “chemical attack” was carried out by US-backed “rebels”, or better yet “ISIS”, it’s Putin’s fault.
“The regime’s history of using chemical weapons against its own people is not in dispute,” said the US State Department, indicating, however, that it was relying on “reports,” being unable to confirm the incident. “Russia ultimately bears responsibility for the brutal targeting of countless Syrians with chemical weapons.”
As for Russia, its Defense Ministry immediately denied and dismissed as false reports that the Syrian government had carried out a chemical attack in Eastern Ghouta’s Douma: “We strongly refute this information,” Major General Yury Yevtushenko, head of the Reconciliation Center in Syria, said in a statement on Sunday. “We declare our readiness, after Douma is liberated from the militants, to immediately send Russian radiation, chemical and biological protection specialists to collect data that will confirm the fabricated nature of these allegations,” he stated.
Yevtushenko said that “a number of Western countries” are trying to prevent the resumption of an operation aimed at driving militants from the city of Douma.
“For this purpose, the use of chemical weapons by Syrian government forces – one of the most widespread claims in the West – is being used,” he added.
And, knowing where this is all headed, Russia’s Foreign Ministry says in statement on website that reports of chemical weapons attack in rebel-held town of Douma are fabricated, and any military operations against Syria on false pretenses may lead to “gravest consequences.”
Russia warns the US not to strike Syria after the chemical attack: “Military intervention under false & fabricated pretexts in Syria, where Russian servicemen stay at the request of the legitimate government, is absolutely unacceptable and may trigger the gravest consequences.”
The Russians added that “the goal of such reports is to aid terrorists and justify possible military strikes from outside Syria.”
Russia is correct, and it is now just a matter of time before Trump unveils his next grand diversion from the chaos at home and the trade war with China, by launching another 50 or so Tomahawks at some venue deep inside Syria, in a carbon copy repeat of what happened exactly one year ago.

De VS liep overigens al eens tegen de lamp, toen er beelden naar buiten werden gebracht van een VS jager, die men de kleuren van de Syrische luchtmacht had gegeven. Het is overduidelijk dat men met deze jager een aanval had willen uitvoeren (en wellicht al had uitgevoerd..), om deze in de schoenen van Assad te schuiven (het zou de zoveelste false flag operatie van de VS zijn geweest)…….
