Bolivia: de coup heeft alles te maken met grondstoffen

Het is meer dan duidelijk dat de coup in Bolivia alles te maken heeft met grondstoffen, daar president Evo Morales de delving van o.a. indium en lithium heeft genationaliseerd, de eerste, dus indium is van groot belang voor de LCD schermen van smartphones enz. en lithium voor accu’s van deze telefoons en andere toepassingen zoals accu’s voor elektrische fietsen en auto’s………

Ook de olie en gaswinning werd door Morales genationaliseerd, waar eerdere protesten in bloed werden gesmoord, protesten om meer inkomsten uit de grondstoffen ten goede te laten komen van het hele volk, dus ook voorde meerderheid van de oorspronkelijke bevolking….. Bij protesten in 2003 kwamen tenminste 70 Bolivianen van de oorspronkelijke bevolking om het leven, ofwel die werden vermoord door politie en leger…….
Nationaliseringen werken als een rode lap op een stier als het om de VS gaat en om die reden heeft de VS al vele keren ingegrepen in Latijjns-Amerika, niet alleen door militaire campagnes, ofwel illegale oorlogen, maar ook door het organiseren van opstanden die dan moeten uitmonden in een staatsgreep….. Mocht dat niet lukken zet de CIA het leger en politie van een dergelijk land onder druk een staatsgreep te forceren, uiteraard met de hulp van de VS, die e.e.a. organiseert en regisseert….. Als ook dat niet lukt zoekt de VS op basis van leugens (false flag operaties) een oorzaak om een (illegale) oorlog tegen zo’n land te beginnen….
In Bolivia heeft de VS een combinatie van voornoemde zaken gebruikt, ofwel een coup door leger en politie, die vooraf werd gegaan door protesten….. Deze zogenaamde opstand tegen de democratisch gekozen president Morales zou door het hele volk gesteund zijn. Althans zo berichtten de westerse reguliere media, gelul van een dronken aardbei daar het grootste deel van het volk tot de oorspronkelijke bevolking behoort en deze bevolking heeft Morales, die zelf tot deze oorspronkelijke bevolking behoort (‘indianen’), voor meer dan 95% gesteund…….

De regering Morales heeft het als eerste regering (en voor het eerst sinds de witte kolonisator haar genocide begon in Latijns-Amerika), opgenomen voor het grootste deel van het volk, zoals gezegd de oorspronkelijke bevolking. Door het beleid van Morales en zijn regering is de armoede onder die bevolkingsgroep aanmerkelijk afgenomen en hij voerde daarnaast een prima economisch beleid…. Natuurlijk hebben de bedrijven, die genationaliseerd werden (en toch nog dikke winsten mochten maken), een grote verantwoording voor de coup die Morales aan de kant zette……
In Washington (DC) is een arbitrage rechtbank gesitueerd, de International Center for the Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), NB een onderdeel van de Wereldbank….. Deze organisatie en de Wereldbank werken bepaald niet in het belang van arme bevolkingsgroepen en veroordelen dergelijke nationaliseringen…… ICSID heeft Bolivia gelast meer rekening te houden met de internationale bedrijven als de mijnbedrijven en die van de olie- en gassector….. Bolivia, Cuba, Nicaragua en Venezuela hebben zich intussen teruggetrokken uit het ICSID en een zelfde soort arbitrage opgezet, echter met één groot verschil, deze organisatie houdt wel rekening met het volk en niet met de grote bedrijven die landen als Bolivia voor een deel hebben leeggezogen……

Salon bracht op 22 november jl. een artikel van Globetrotter (Naked Kapitalism) waarin e.e.a. aangaande de grondstoffen wordt verduidelijkt, jammer dat men niet lithium noemde, daar Bolivia ook de grootste voorraad lithium zou hebben….

When you look at your computer screen, or the screen on your smartphone or the screen of your television set, it is a liquid crystal display (LCD). An important component of the LCD screen is indium, a rare metallic element that is processed out of zinc concentrate.
The two largest sources of indium can be found in eastern Canada (Mount Pleasant) and in Bolivia (Malku Khota). Canada’s deposits have the potential to produce 38.5 tons of indium per year, while Bolivia’s considerable mines would be able to produce 80 tons per year.

 Canada’s South American Silver Corporation—now TriMetals Mining—had signed a concession to explore and eventually mine Malku Khota. Work began in 2003, two years before Evo Morales and the Movement for Socialism (MAS) won their first presidential election in Bolivia. South American Silver conducted several studies of the region, all of which found substantial deposits that were poised to make this Canadian firm one of the major players in the mining industry.
A study done by Allan Armitage and others for South American Silver, and delivered to the company in 2011, showed that the Malku Khota mine would produce substantial amounts of silver, indium, lead, zinc, copper, and gallium. “The indium and gallium,” the study noted, “are regarded as strategic metals that give the project future upside potential.” Gallium is used for thermometers and barometers, as well as in the testing side of the pharmaceutical industry. There is Fort Knox level treasure to be made from these minerals.
Resource Nationalism

Evo Morales rode to victory in 2006 with the promise of a new day for Bolivia. Key to his agenda was to take control of the country’s resources and use them to improve the quality of life of Bolivia’s deprived populations. One of the great tragedies of Bolivia has been that since the mid-16th century, the indigenous populations have had to work to remove precious wealth from underneath their lands and send that wealth to enrich the people of Europe and later North America. They did not benefit from those riches.
Millions died in the mines of Potosí to bring the silver, and later tin, out of the ground. For the indigenous people who live near and on the hill, everything is upside down—one of the most lucrative hills is known as Cerro Rico (Rich Hill), while in Spanish there is a phrase that toys with the idea that wealth is equivalent to Potosí (vale un Potosí). Morales’ message during his campaign was framed around the concept of resource nationalism—use our resources to better the lives of those who live in deprivation and indignity.

Morales first went after the oil and gas industry. It is important to recall that his opponent in this year’s election—Carlos Mesa—was the president right before Morales won the election in December 2005. Mesa had come to power when his predecessor Sánchez de Lozada resigned in disgrace over the mass demonstrations in 2003 when Bolivians demanded more control over their gas reserves (the state repression was severe, with at least 70 people killed in the demonstrations). In May 2006—just over three months after being sworn in as president—Morales announced that the oil and gas industry had been nationalized. It is important to recall that his approval rating was well above 80 percent.
Nationalization was not easy, since the Bolivian government could not expropriate assets but only raise taxes and renegotiate contracts. Even here, the government faced problems since it lacked enough technical skills to understand the opaque energy sector. Furthermore, the problem with the energy sector is that even nationalized oil and gas must be sold to the transnational firms that then process them and market them; they remain in control of the value chain. What Morales’ government was able to do was to ensure that the State controlled 51 percent of all private energy firms that operated in Bolivia, which allowed the State’s coffers to fill rapidly. It was this money that was invested to go after poverty, hunger, and illiteracy.
Revenge of the Mining Companies
Canada’s Fraser Institute—a libertarian think tank that is heavily funded by the energy and mining sector—publishes an annual survey of mining companies. This survey is conducted by asking mining executives their opinions on a range of issues. The 2007–08 survey said that Bolivia is the second-worst country for investment; the worst was Ecuador. In 2010, the World Bank’s Ease of Doing Business Index rated Bolivia at 161 of 183 countries. Heads of mining firms—from Barrick’s Peter Munk to Repsol’s Antonio Brufau—made disparaging comments about the nationalization program. “If Bolivia keeps on this path,” a Wall Street banker told me at that time, “these companies will make sure that Bolivian natural gas remains underground.” Bolivia might be embargoed; Morales might be assassinated.

Pressure mounted daily on the MAS government, which began a process to write a new Constitution that would both protect nature and insist on resource wealth being used for the people. There was an immediate contradiction here: if the MAS government was going to undo centuries of deprivation, it would have to mine the earth to bring out the wealth. A tragic choice befell the government—it could not both conserve nature and transform the wretched conditions of everyday life at the same level of caution. At the same time, to get its minerals and energy to market, it had to continue to negotiate with these transnational firms; no immediate alternative was present.
Nationalization

Despite the constraints on it, the MAS government continued to nationalize resources, and insist on State firms being partners in resource extraction. Transnational firms immediately took Bolivia to the International Center for the Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), a part of the World Bank system. The ICSID—formed in 1966—is based in Washington, D.C., and shares an outlook toward business that mirrors that of the U.S. Treasury Department.
On April 29, 2007, the leaders of Bolivia (Evo Morales), Cuba (Carlos Lage), Nicaragua (Daniel Ortega), and Venezuela (Hugo Chávez) signed a declaration to create an alternative to the investor-government system institutionalized in the ICSID. Bolivia and Ecuador formally withdrew from this U.S.-dominated system, while Venezuela’s Supreme Court declared that it did not have the power to intervene in Venezuelan sovereign affairs.
On July 10, 2012, Morales’ government nationalized the Malku Khota property of South American Silver. Company CEO Greg Johnson said he was “really shocked” at the decision. South American Silver’s shares dropped immediately; it had been trading at $1.02 on July 6, and it fell to $0.37 on July 11.

 The immediate spur for the nationalization was the protest around the mine by indigenous artisanal miners who did not want this mega-project to undermine their livelihood. South American Silver had spent a great deal of money to convince 43 of the 46 neighboring communities to accept the mine; but they could not convince the artisanal miners. “Nationalization is our obligation,” said Morales.

All that indium would not make its way in significant quantities to the factories to produce LCDs for television sets, computer monitors, and cell phones.
South American Silver took the Bolivian government to the Permanent Court of Arbitration at The Hague. In November last year, the Court ordered Bolivia to pay South American Silver $27.7 million rather than the $385.7 million that TriMetals (the new name for South American Silver) had demanded.
Coup

 In July 2007, U.S. Ambassador Philip Goldberg sent a cable to Washington in which he pointed out that U.S. mining firms had approached his embassy to ask about the investment climate in Bolivia. Goldberg felt that the situation for mining firms was not good. When asked if he could organize a meeting with Vice President Álvaro García Linera, he said, “Sadly, without dynamite in the streets, it is uncertain whether the Embassy or the international mining companies will be able to attain even this minimal goal.”

 “Without dynamite in the streets” is a phrase worth dwelling upon. A year later, Morales expelled Goldberg from Bolivia, accusing him of aiding the protests in the town of Santa Cruz. Just over a decade later, it was the “dynamite” that removed Morales from power.
Resource nationalism is no longer on the agenda in Bolivia. The fate of Malku Khota is unknown. The fate of your screen is guaranteed—it will be replaced with indium from the Potosí deposits. And the benefits of that sale will not go to improving the well-being of Bolivia’s indigenous population; they will enrich the transnational firms and the old oligarchy of Bolivia.

Razzia’s in de VS: de jacht op ‘illegale vluchtelingen’ is geopend

De kop op dit bericht is enigszins krom, daar er in de VS al veel langer jacht wordt gemaakt op vluchtelingen; daarover zo meer.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement, ofwel ICE is in de VS al een paar weken bezig met wat niet anders dan als razzia’s kan worden aangeduid….. Buurten waar veel ‘illegale vluchtelingen’, of zoals men hen daar noemt: ‘illegale immigranten’ wonen, worden opgeschrikt door razzia’s waarbij grote aantallen ambtenaren van ICE mensen controleren of ze niet toevallig ‘illegaal’ in de VS zijn….. (men spreekt over de inzet van honderden ambtenaren…)

Ook scholen en schoolbussen worden bezocht door deze ambtenaren en gelukkig hebben een aantal van die scholen een protocol voor het geval ICE hun scholen overvalt, een protocol waarmee ‘bepaalde’ leerlingen worden gewaarschuwd zich uit de voeten te maken…… Kinderen leven in angst, een angst die bepaalde kinderen eerder in Europa hadden als de nazi’s razzia’s doorvoerden…….

Overigens was Bill Clinton de eerste die een streng ‘anti-immigratie beleid’ doorvoerde, waarbij veel vluchtelingen werden gedeporteerd….. Obama en zijn minister van BuZa Hillary Clinton waren voor het bouwen van een grote afscheiding op de grens met Mexico……. Ook werden onder ‘vredesduif’ Obama voor het eerst hele gezinnen gevangengezet en werden kinderen gescheiden van hun ouders……..

Een paar zaken die duidelijk maken dat de VS fascistisch wordt geregeerd: -razzia’s, -illegaal oorlogvoeren, -opstanden en coups organiseren, -het vermoorden van verdachten middels drones en geheime militaire acties, -het sturen van verkiezingen buiten de VS, -een illegale gevangenis gebruiken waar verdachten zelfs al bijna 20 jaar worden vastgehouden (Guantanamo Bay) en dit nog naast de vele geheime CIA sites over de wereld waar gemarteld wordt, -false flag operaties gebruiken als excuus voor militaire agressie (of voor ‘onterechte wraak actie’), -etnisch profileren en -gekleurde burgers harder straffen dan witte burgers ofwel discriminatie ‘op hoog niveau…..’ En dan sprak ik niet eens over het smerige seksisme en het zwaar racistische gehalte van de huidige VS president, het beest Trump…..

Onbegrijpelijk dat de reguliere westerse media amper of geen belangstelling hebben voor de fascismisering van de VS, terwijl de voorbeelden voor het oprapen liggen, nee samen met de respectievelijke westerse regeringen likt men liever de vieze reet van Trump……

Zoals je zal begrijpen werd de berichtgeving anders gebracht dan hier vermeld, zo viel het woord ‘razzia’ niet één keer, hetzelfde geldt voor het woord ‘fascisme’ en gaf men niet alle voorbeelden die aangeven dat we in de VS te maken hebben met een fascistisch geregeerd land……

Kapitein Japans schip spreekt Trump administratie tegen over Iraanse kleefbom op zijn tanker

Het hieronder weergegeven artikel heeft een iets andere kop, daar stelt de schrijver dat de Japanse reder, dus de eigenaar van het schip de duidelijk door de Trump administratie gelogen beschuldiging aan het adres van Iran, als was dit land de dader, heeft tegengesproken. Overigens is het niet vreemd dat reders de versie van kapiteins na een ongeval volgen, als er overduidelijk een derde partij is die een schip heeft aangevallen.

Volgens de kapitein was het geen bom/mijn die de explosie en daarmee brand op zijn schip heeft veroorzaakt, maar een vliegend object en dat strookt volkomen met de schade aan het schip dat een heel stuk boven de waterlijn werd getroffen. Belangrijk nog de opmerking van de reder waarin hij aangeeft dat er volgens de informatie die hij kreeg, geen mijn (of bom, wat je wilt) was bevestigd aan de wand van het schip, de Kokuka Outrageous…….
De VS heeft al geprobeerd de reddingsactie van de Iraanse marine te ontkennen dan wel te bagatelliseren, waar men na een paar dagen stelde dat de VS het personeel van één van de tankers zou hebben gered, echter nu kan men in Washington niet meer ontkennen dat Iran het personeel van beide olietankers heeft gered.
Op een video die e.e.a. zou bewijzen aldus o.a. Trump en Pompeo, is niet te zien wat er gebeurt, waar de VS stelt dat de Iraanse Revolutionaire Garde een kleefmijn van de wand van het schip verwijdert. Buiten de genoemde verklaring van de reder dat er volgens zeggen geen bom aan de scheepsromp was bevestigd, lijkt het me niet meer dan logisch dat wanneer je bezig bent met een reddingsactie, je zo’n bom verwijdert, zeker als dat kan zonder risico op afgaan……. (nogmaals als er een bom/mijn aan het schip was bevestigd en om dat te bevestigen is de video te wazig…..)
Het is wel zeker dat de VS samen met de Golfstaten bezig is om Iran een false flag operatie* in de schoenen te schuiven, zodat men uiteindelijk Iran kan aanvallen, een beproefde gang van zaken, vooral door de grootste terreurentiteit op aarde gebruikt…. de VS!!

Japanese Ship Owner Contradicts US Officials on Tanker Attack

(ANTIWAR.COM) — The owner of the Japanese tanker that was attacked on Thursday in the Gulf of Oman, the Kokuka Outrageous, contradicted the US military’s claims about the attack. Central Command reported that the two tankers were hit with limpet mines, a type of mine that is attached to the hull of a ship below the waterline using magnets. But Yutaka Katada, the owner of the Kokuka Outrageous, said he received reports a projectile hit the ship.
“We received reports that something flew towards the ship,” Katada said at a press conference, “The place where the projectile landed was significantly higher than the water level, so we are absolutely sure that this wasn’t a torpedo. I do not think there was a time bomb or an object attached to the side of the ship.”
US Central Command released a grainy black and white video of a boat alongside a ship, claiming it was an Iranian patrol boat removing a limpet mine from the Kokuka Outrageous, the claim being they were getting rid of the evidence. The video does not conclusively prove anything, as it is hard to tell what the boat is doing. Iranian state media said Iran rescued the crew of both tankers, so the video could have just been a recording of the rescue efforts.
In an interview with Fox and Friends Friday morning, President Trump blamed Iran for the attacks on the tankers. Trump cited the video as proof, “Well Iran did do it, and you know they did it because you saw the boat. I guess one of the mines didn’t explode and it’s probably got essentially Iran written all over it.”
Trump, who has been known to sometimes contradict his more hawkish cabinet members, fell in line with his Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who on Thursday, accused Iran of attacking the tankers with no evidence to back up his claim.
Britain’s Foreign Secretary, Jeremy Hunt made a statement on Friday, “We are going to make our own independent assessment, we have our processes to do that, (but) we have no reason not to believe the American assessment and our instinct is to believe it because they are our closest ally.”
No US officials have responded to the Japanese ship owner’s claims.

Twee olietankers aangevallen in Golf van Oman: VS oorlogsbodem in de buurt

In het radionieuws van 11.00 u. (CET) op BBC World Service, het bericht dat twee olietankers zin aangevallen in de buurt van de Iraanse kust (in de Golf van Oman)…..

Op dezelfde zender vertelde de presentator rond 12.07 u. dat de VS een oorlogsbodem die in de buurt is, naar de plek van de aanslagen heeft gestuurd…… De presentator vervolgde met te zeggen dat hoewel het niet bekend is wie de dader is, deze aanslagen de spanningen in het gebied verhogen…… In het nieuws van 12.30 u. op de BBC was het nieuws plotseling dat de tankers al zouden zijn weggesleept…… (je zou bijna denken dat er helemaal niets is gebeurd……)

Eerdere aanslagen werden door de reli-fascistische terreurstaat Saoedi-Arabië toegeschreven aan Iran, ook die claims werden een paar weken geleden breed uitgemeten gebracht op de BBC, als was het de waarheid, terwijl daar geen enkel bewijs voor was……

Gezien het voorgaande en de uitspraak van de presentator over ‘oplopende spanningen’, is het wel duidelijk wie de BBC als dader ziet voor deze laatste aanslag…. Juist, Iran!!

Het is meer dan duidelijk dat de VS een stok zoekt om Iran mee te slaan en gezien de geschiedenis van de VS tot nu toe, zal ook nu weer een false flag operatie worden gebruikt om een oorlog tegen Iran te kunnen beginnen, een operatie waarvan de ‘aanslagen’ op de twee olietankers een voorbeeld kunnen zijn………. Toevoeging na 14.00 u.: WDR meldt dat de bemanning van de schepen is gehaald en dat deze schepen momenteel stuurloos zijn. Om 13.30 u. wist de nieuwslezer te melden dat Iran hoogstwaarschijnlijk de dader is, niet dat men daar ook maar enig bewijs voor kon geven…….

VS terreuraanslag in Syrië op 3 tankwagens: 4 doden

De grootste terreurentiteit op aarde heeft alweer een terreuraanslag uitgevoerd op Syrische bodem, dit keer bestond het doel uit 3 tankwagens gevuld met olie, bij de aanslag kwamen 4 mensen om het leven…..
De VS heeft met haar grootschalige terreur het Syrische volk al jaren in oorlog gedompeld*, blijkbaar is dat niet genoeg en moet de Syriërs het leven nog moeilijker worden gemaakt met een illegale VS sanctie op de levering van olie aan dat land……..
Intussen heeft de VS Syrië de wacht aangezegd geen aanvallen op Idlib uit te voeren, aanvallen op terreurgroepen die daar hun terreur uitoefenen op de bestaande bevolking en op vluchtelingen…….

Onbegrijpelijk dat de reguliere media door blijven gaan met het verspreiden van leugens over Syrië en met het afschilderen van de VS als vrede- en stabiliteit brenger, terwijl diezelfde media al lang zijn betrapt op het jarenlang brengen van fake news (nepnieuws) en andere desinformatie ingegeven door leugens van de geheime diensten in de VS, alsof men dat zelf niet weet bij die media……. Uiteraard weet men in die media dat VS ingrijpen garant staat voor instabiliteit en illegale oorlogsvoering, waarbij alleen deze eeuw al meer dan 2,5 miljoen mensen werden vermoord……
Het is wel bijna zeker dat de VS met Turkije afspraken heeft gemaakt om te voorkomen dat dit land het S-400 (Trioemf) raketsysteem van Rusland zal overnemen (wat tot een opbreken van de NAVO zou kunnen leiden), waarbij de VS Turkije zal steunen, waar Turkije de terreurgroepen in Idlib steunt. Het slachtoffer in deze zal de Koerdische organisatie YPG zijn, dat tot nu toe regelmatig samenwerkt met de VS en dat een redelijk lange geschiedenis heeft in het succesvol bestrijden van terreurgroepen, zelfs al voordat Rusland op verzoek van Syrië te hulp schoot voor de bestrijding van die terreurgroepen……..

Op het moment dat de Russen ingrepen, werden de Koerden nog niet gesteund door de VS, dat op dat moment nog volop steun gaf aan de terreurgroepen die het Syrische leger en de Koerden bestreden, dus IS, Al Qaida en de zusterorganisatie van die laatste, al-Nusra, om er een paar te noemen. Deze terreurgroepen werden in het westen liefkozend gematigde rebellen, of gematigde oppositie genoemd en een paar van die terreurgroepen werden ook door Nederland gesteund……. In werkelijkheid waren deze ‘gematigde rebellen’ psychopathische moordenaars, verkrachters en martelbeulen, die meermaals gifgas in hebben gezet tegen het Syrische volk (false flag operaties waar men de schuld in de schoenen van Assad probeerde te schuiven……)

US Warplanes Destroy 3 Oil Tankers in Syria, Killing at Least 4 People

(ANTIWAR.COM) — On Friday, US warplanes attacked and destroyed three oil tankers that were traveling through Syrian Kurdish territory. At least four people were killed in the course of the attacks.
Details are still scant, and the US hasn’t made a formal statement on what happened. The tankers are believed to have entered from Iraq, and were heading toward Assad territory. Since Syria lost all their oil-producing regions in the war, they have to import what minimal oil they can get to keep their economy and military going.
But the US has imposed an oil embargo on Syria, in keeping with long-standing goals of regime change there. It seems the US ban on Syria having any oil is the basis for US warplanes attacking oil-containing vehicles in Syria.
While the US attacking things in Syria generally has little in the way of immediate consequences, the Kurdish YPG, a US ally, have been believed to be profiting off these oil shipments as well, and the US attack may strain relations with them.

John Bolton (VS nationaal ‘veiligheidsadviseur’): het is een goede zaak om te liegen over oorlog…….

Caitlin Johnstone schreef een artikel op haar site waarin ze een uitspraak van Bolton aanhaalde, waarin hij openlijk stelde dat het goed is om te liegen over oorlog (en oorlogsmisdaden, iets dat oorlogsmisdadiger Bolton er uiteraard niet bij vertelde)

Johnstone kreeg van Whitney Webb een video uit 2010 waarin psychopaat Bolton deze en andere ongelofelijke uitspraken durfde te doen. Alsof het zijn zaak extra zou ondersteunen haalde Bolton een uitspraak aan van Winston Churchill (die in de 20er jaren van de vorige eeuw nog mosterdgas inzette tegen bedoeïenen in wat nu Irak is…..), de vertaling van deze uitspraak komt ongeveer neer op: de waarheid in een oorlog is zo belangrijk dat deze omringd moet worden door leugen lijfwachten….. (de Engelse versie die Bolton gebruikte vind je in het hieronder opgenomen artikel van Johnstone)
Om zijn uitspraak nog meer kracht bij te zetten stelde Bolton dat het noodzakelijk was om te liegen over D-day….. Alsof dit ook maar enigszins is te vergelijken met de illegale oorlogen die de VS sinds WOII voert, dit wel of niet in combinatie met een geheime economische oorlog, om zo een opstand te veroorzaken, waarmee een regime verandering zou kunnen worden doorgedrukt…..

Als het voorgaande niet lukt staat uiteraard het scenario van een VS invasie nog ter beschikking, ook al een beproefd recept van de VS. Naast geheime militaire CIA acties en het vermoorden van verdachten middels drones (waar meer dan 90% van de slachtoffers niet eens werd verdacht), heeft de VS sinds het eind van WOII meer dan 22,5 miljoen mensen vermoord (waarbij de VS deels ook de NAVO gebruikte, waarover dit land permanent het opperbevel voert…)…..
Lees het ontluisterend verhaal van Johnstone en zegt het voort, we zijn meer dan overtijd als het gaat om het blind zijn bij het overgrote deel van de westerse bevolking voor de grootschalige terreur die de VS gebruikt tegen een fiks deel van de wereld…….. Terreur ook uit onze naam, zo was Nederland betrokken bij de voorbereiding van de oorlog tegen Irak, die ons land ook nog eens politiek en militair steunde……. Terreur die mede met ons belastinggeld werd en wordt uitgeoefend…..

Om over de enorme kosten die oorlogsvoering met zich meebrengen maar te zwijgen, kosten voor wederopbouw van het land dat door de VS in puin werd gelegd, kosten voor behandeling van oorlogsslachtoffers en de kosten die worden gemaakt voor vluchtelingen (waar de ellende voor deze mensen niet eens in geld is uit te drukken…), vluchtelingen die met vele duizenden al zijn verdronken in de Middellandse en Egeïsche Zee….. Kosten als de 6 miljard euro die de EU aan Turkije gaf om vluchtelingen af te schrikken, gevangen te zetten en tegen te houden als ze willen vluchten naar de EU, terwijl EU landen, zoals gezegd, mede hoofdverantwoordelijk zijn voor de reden waarom deze mensen hun moederland ontvluchtten……

De brutaliteit die oorlogshitsers als de topman van Washington Institute Of Near East Policy (WINEP), Patrick Clawson, ten toon spreiden is ongekend, zo pleitte deze smerige oorlogshitser openlijk voor een false flag operatie om zo een reden te creëren waarmee de VS Iran (zogenaamd legitiem) aan kan vallen (de link naar dat gebeuren vind je in het artikel van Johnstone). Met die strijdbijl heeft de VS al veel vaker gehakt, neem de reden voor deelname van de VS aan de Eerste en Tweede Wereldoorlog, of de oorlog van de VS tegen Noord-Vietnam……

(CJ Opinion) — Journalist Whitney Webb recently tweeted a 2010 video clip I’d never seen before featuring US National Security Advisor John Bolton defending the use of deception in advancing military agendas, which highlights something we should all be paying attention to as Trump administration foreign policy becomes increasingly Boltonized.
On a December 2010 episode of Fox News’ Freedom Watch, Bolton and the show’s host Andrew Napolitano were debating about recent WikiLeaks publications, and naturally the subject of government secrecy came up.
“Now I want to make the case for secrecy in government when it comes to the conduct of national security affairs, and possibly for deception where that’s appropriate,” Bolton said. “You know Winston Churchill said during World War Two that in wartime truth is so important it should be surrounded by a bodyguard of lies.”
“Do you really believe that?” asked an incredulous Napolitano.
“Absolutely,” Bolton replied.
“You would lie in order to preserve the truth?”
“If I had to say something I knew was false to protect American national security, I would do it,” Bolton answered.
“I don’t think we’re often faced with that difficulty, but would I lie about where the D-Day invasion was going to take place to deceive the Germans, you’d better believe it,” Bolton continued.
“Why do people in the government think that the laws of society or the rules don’t apply to
them?” Napolitano asked.
“Because they are not dealing in the civil society we live in under the Constitution,” Bolton replied. “They are dealing in the anarchic environment internationally where different rules apply.”
“But you took an oath to uphold the Constitution, and the Constitution mandates certain openness and certain fairness,” Napolitano protested. “You’re willing to do away with that in order to attain a temporary military goal?”
“I think as Justice Jackson said in a famous decision, the Constitution is not a suicide pact,” Bolton said. “And I think defending the United States from foreign threats does require actions that in a normal business environment in the United States we would find unprofessional. I don’t make any apology for it.”
So that’s a thing. And it’s important for us to know it’s a thing because of the way things are heating up in Iran right now, since Bolton’s fingerprints are all over it.
Bolton has long been calling for war with Iran and in a paid speech in July 2017 told his
pro-egime change MEK terror cult audience that they would be celebrating the successful overthrow of the Iranian government together before 2019. Now we’re seeing threat alarms being elevated and fearmongering about Iranian missiles being circulated, with reports being leaked to the press of possible plans to send 120,000 US troops to the region.
This is an environment that is ripe for deceptions of all sorts, and, given what Bolton said on live television nearly a decade ago, we would all do very well to remain very, very skeptical of any and all news we hear about Iran going forward. If for example you hear that within this environment of escalated tensions and military posturing Iran or one of its “proxies” has attacked the United States in some way, your immediate response should be one of intense skepticism about what the mass media talking heads are telling you to believe.
Back in 2012 at a forum for the Washington Institute Of Near East Policy (WINEP) think tank, the group’s Director of Research Patrick Clawson openly talked about the possibility of using a false flag to provoke a war with Iran.
“I frankly think that crisis initiation is really tough, and it’s very hard for me to see how the United States president can get us to war with Iran,” Clawson began.
(Can I just pause here to note what a bizarre series of words that is? “Get us to war with Iran?”
Get us to the thing that every sane human being wants to avoid with every fiber of their being? You want to “get us to” there? This is not the kind of thing normal humans say. You only hear this kind of insanity in the DC swamp where creatures like John Bolton have their roots.)
“Which leads me to conclude that if in fact compromise is not coming, that the traditional way that America gets to war is what would be best for US interests,” Clawson added. “Some people might think that Mr. Roosevelt wanted to get us into the war… you may recall we had to wait for Pearl Harbor. Some people might think that Mr. Wilson wanted to get us into World War One; you may recall we had to wait for the Lusitania episode. Some people might think that Mr. Johnson wanted to get us into Vietnam; you may recall we had to wait for the Gulf of Tonkin episode. We didn’t go to war with Spain until the USS Maine exploded. And may I point out that Mr. Lincoln did not feel that he could call out the Army until Fort Sumter was attacked, which is why he ordered the commander at Fort Sumter to do exactly that thing which the South Carolinians said would cause an attack.”
“So if, in fact, the Iranians aren’t going to compromise, it would be best if somebody else started the war,” Clawson continued. “One can combine other means of pressure with sanctions. I mentioned that explosion on August 17th. We could step up the pressure. I mean look people, Iranian submarines periodically go down. Some day, one of them might not come up. Who would know why? We can do a variety of things, if we wish to increase the pressure (I’m not advocating that) but I’m just suggesting that this is not an either/or proposition — just sanctions have to succeed or other things. We are in the game of using covert means against the Iranians.
We could get nastier at that.”

So these are ideas that have been in circulation for many years. That gun is loaded and ready to fire.
Bolton trussed up his 2010 confession using an example that most people would agree with: that it was reasonable for the Allied forces to deliberately deceive the Nazis about the nature of the D-Day invasion. But we know John Bolton better than that by now.

This PNAC director and architect of the Iraq war once threatened to murder a foreign official’s children because his successful diplomatic efforts were putting a damper on the manufacturing of consent for the Iraq invasion. He wasn’t defending the use of deception in crucial military options used to halt tyrants trying to take over the world, he was defending the use of deception in the senseless wars of aggression that he has built his political career on advancing.
Take everything you hear about Iran with a planet-sized grain of salt, dear reader, and everything you hear about Venezuela too while we’re on the subject. There are skillful manipulators who are hell bent on toppling the governments of those nations, and they have absolutely no problem whatsoever with deceiving you in order to facilitate that. And they don’t believe the rules apply to them.

Venezuela: het VS volk wordt weer een oorlog in gelogen, zoals eerder in Irak, Libië en Syrië

Lee Camp de schrijver van het hieronder opgenomen artikel, eerder gepubliceerd op Truthdig en door mij overgenomen van Information Clearing House, stelt in zijn openingszin dat het niet de eerste keer is dat de VS regering en de massamedia het volk van de VS een oorlog in sleept, dan wel een staatsgreep organiseert die onherroepelijk desastreuze gevolgen zal hebben….. Die uitspraak gaat wel op voor het eufemisme van het jaar, immers de VS geschiedenis vanaf 1945 staat er bol van!*
Met een terugkijk op zijn leve ten tijde van de tweede illegale oorlog van de VS tegen Irak in 2003 en hoe hij toen de zaken bekeek, waar hij het gevoel kreeg dat de argumenten voor die oorlog niet klopten, ontleedt Camp 4 illegale oorlogen van de VS die op valse gronden werden gevoerd.
Camp begint met de Spaans-Amerikaanse oorlog, waar de reden voor een VS aanval het zinken was van oorlogsschip USS Maine in de haven van Havanna. Daarna haalt hij de Vietnam oorlog aan en het conflict in de Golf van Tonkin, waar VS oorlogsschepen ‘schoten op weersverschijnselen die ze op de radar zagen……’ Oorlogsmisdadiger Robert McNamara wist op grond van deze in feite false flag operatie**, president Johnson te bewegen de strijd tegen Noord-Vietnam te intensiveren tot een ‘totale oorlog……’ Later gaf McNamara toe dat het Golf van Tonkin incident nooit plaatsvond…… Let wel: deze oorlog kostte miljoenen het leven, deze slachtoffers werden niet alleen in Vietnam vermoord (3,8 miljoen mensen), maar ook in buurlanden Laos en Cambodja……
Vervolgens komt de oorlog tegen Irak aan bod, een illegale oorlog waarvan iedereen kan weten dat deze op basis van leugens werd aangegaan door de VS, een oorlog die intussen aan meer dan 2 miljoen Irakezen het leven heeft gekost (Camp noemt overigens een aantal van 1 miljoen Irakese slachtoffers, nogal een verschil met schattingen die in Irak werden gemaakt door deskundigen, al blijft een aantal van 1 miljoen doden, een verschrikking waar je je amper iets bij voor kan stellen….)
Camp komt als eerste (hij begint vanaf het vierde voorbeeld) met het bombarderen van Syrië. Jammer dat hij niet wijst op het feit dat de VS al in 2006 heeft besloten dat Assad weg moest, niet in de laatste plaats daar hij pijpleidingen over de grond van Syrië weigerde, gaspijpleidingen van de Golfstaten richting Zuid-Europa…… (waarmee 2 vliegen in 1 klap worden geveld, immers met dat gas zou Rusland een afzet probleem krijgen in Europa…..). De VS heeft de opstand in Syrië georganiseerd en geregisseerd, waar deze terreurentiteit gewapende figuren van buiten Syrië als provocateurs heeft ingezet tijdens die ‘opstand…’ Helaas voor de VS, maar deze keer mislukte de opzet……
Camp noemt veel meer feiten en zaken die de reguliere (massa-) media niet brengen. Het verhaal eindigt tenslotte bij Venezuela, waarover Camp o.a. vertelt dat oorlogsmisdadiger Bolton zonder blikken of blozen stelde dat de VS uit is op de enorme olievoorraad van Venezuela (de op 1 na grootste voorraad ter wereld, volgens Camp de grootste maar dat klopt m.i. niet). Deze bekentenis van Bolton werd niet eens gebracht door de massamedia, nee zij houden vol dat de arme Venezolanen geholpen moeten worden, daar het hen aan alles ontbreekt, ‘zelfs aan tandpasta…’ (zie daarvoor ook de video van Lee Camp, die onder het artikel is weergegeven, waar hij ook op de ‘honger’ in Venezuela ingaat)
Niet genoemd door Camp, maar de VN en het Rode Kruis hebben de VS terecht gewezen met haar poging humanitaire hulp te politiseren, daar deze organisaties al lang humanitaire hulp verstrekken in Venezuela, er zijn zelfs 20 keer meer humanitaire hulpgoederen in Venezuela (waaronder medicijnen) dan de VS heeft klaarstaan….. Humanitaire hulpgoederen die zoals gezegd wel medicijnen bevatten, in tegenstelling tot de humanitaire hulp uit de VS, terwijl de westerse massamedia en het grootste deel van de westerse politici in navolging van hun collega’s in de VS, dat keer op keer wel stellen……. March 08, 2019 “Information Clearing House” – I was 23 when we invaded Iraq, and I wasn’t sure it was based on lies, but something deep down in me—just behind the spleen—told me it was based on lies. Kinda like if your blind date shows up and you notice he has a 2004 flip phone. It seems vaguely worrisome, and no explanation he can haltingly supply will put you at ease. Plus, anyone else who acts like it’s normal also becomes suspect.

The invasion of Iraq just felt like it was a lie to me. And it turned out that I was right, that it was a lie, and that the entirety of the mainstream media and our government were either wrong or lying and, most of the time, both.

Now our government and our media are trying their damnedest to lie us into another war, this one with Venezuela. They tell us the Venezuelan people are desperate for necessities like toothpaste, while independent journalists show piles of affordable toothpaste in Caracas.

And even if they didn’t have toothpaste, that hardly seems like a good reason for America to be dropping our long-range bad decisions on the heads of innocent people. Turning a town into an impact crater for the sake of a battle to stop gingivitis seems a bit extreme.

The mainstream media and nearly the entirety of the U.S. government tell us Juan Guaido is the “interim president,” even though he was never elected to that position and the current president is still leading the Venezuelan government and military. So I guess this “interim” is the time between Guaido being a nobody and the time when he goes back to being nobody but now gets to tell women at parties, “You know, I used to be interim president.”

The mainstream media also inform us that the Venezuelan military set U.S. aid trucks on fire, when video shows opposition forces doing it. Furthermore, the idea of Venezuela taking “aid” from the country whose sanctions are crushing them would be like the Standing Rock Sioux accepting gift packages from the construction crews swiss-cheesing their land to lay down the Dakota Access pipeline (DAPL). Unless the boxes are filled with industrial paper towels to help clean up oil spills, I fail to see how it would be beneficial. Sometimes you do indeed have to look a gift horse in the mouth (or should I say “gift dog”).

This is not the first time our government and our media have conspired to drag the American people into war with another country—or helped create a coup that will inevitably have disastrous results. So I thought this would be a prime moment to go through the top four greatest hits.

Number 4: The Spanish-American War

This is widely considered to be the birth of modern media propaganda, because it was the first war actually started by the media. Newspapers fabricated atrocities in the never-ending quest for more readers.

And as The New York Times noted, “[T]he sensationalistic reporting of the sinking of the American battleship Maine in Havana harbor on Feb. 15, 1898 … and all the other egregious reporting leading up to the Spanish-American War might have been considered merely cartoonish if it hadn’t led to a major international conflict.”

I think maybe The New York Times got that quote confused with its mission statement: “Cartoonishly dragging America into major international conflict since 1851!”

Number 3: The Vietnam War

Sure, most everyone knows the catastrophic Vietnam War was precipitated by the Gulf of Tonkin incident, in which U.S. naval vessels were fired upon by villainous North Vietnamese torpedo boats. Following that skirmish, Defense Secretary Robert McNamara recommended that President Johnson retaliate, and the full-force Vietnam War had begun. But most Americans still don’t know that there was no Gulf of Tonkin incident—unless you count U.S. naval ships literally firing their weapons at weather events they saw on the radar. The 2003 documentary “The Fog of War” finally revealed the truth. Former Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara confessed that the Gulf of Tonkin attack did not actually happen.

That’s right. It never happened. Much like leprechauns or dragons or Simon Cowell’s talent, it was a figment of our national imagination.

 The lies of our government, followed by the fawning, credulous reporting from our media, led to the death of 58,000 U.S. service members and as many as 3.8 million Vietnamese.
The United States government has one of the most powerful Departments of Fabrication and Falsification ever assembled. It’s a modern marvel on par with the Great Pyramid of Giza and Rafael Nadal’s down-the-line running forehand.

Number 2: The Iraq War

Of course, there’s the most obvious lie about Iraq, i.e., that Saddam Hussein had so many weapons of mass destruction that he would often use one to scrub hard-to-reach places while in the tub. But that wasn’t the only falsehood manifested to bring about our complete annihilation of the sovereign nation Saddam ruled over. There were others, such as the idea that Saddam was connected to al-Qaida and perhaps played a role in the 9/11 attacks. William Safire at The New York Times, in May 2002, wrote, “Mohamed Atta, destined to be the leading Sept. 11 suicide hijacker, was reported last fall by Czech intelligence to have met at least once with Saddam Hussein’s espionage chief in the Iraqi Embassy.”

Yes, Safire was able to polish a load of bullshit so thoroughly it would sparkle like a sapphire. And that column is still up on the Times’ website, without a correction or retraction. I would say the Times is only useful for covering the bottom of a birdcage, but I’d fear the paper would lie your pet cockatoo into an ill-advised invasion, killing millions.

But the propaganda didn’t even stop there. There was also the anthrax attacks following 9/11. Anthrax was mailed to press outlets and the offices of politicians. To this day, many people still believe it had something to do with Iraq or al-Qaida because of award-winning national embarrassments like Brian Ross.

“Brian Ross at ABC News wrote ‘the anthrax in the tainted letter sent to Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle was laced with bentonite’ and ‘bentonite is a trademark of Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein’s biological weapons program.’ ” As Salon so clearly put it, “All of those factual claims … were completely false, demonstrably and unquestionably so. … Yet neither ABC nor Ross have ever retracted, corrected, clarified, or explained these fraudulent reports.”

And, as you would expect, following that blatantly false reporting, Brian Ross did not lose his job. In fact, he wasn’t put out to pasture from ABC News until last year, when he “reported that fired national security adviser Michael Flynn was ready to testify that Trump told him to contact the Russians during the campaign.”

That report—much like the rumors of Brian Ross’s journalistic integrity—turned out to be absolutely false.

(In my professional opinion, anyone who had anything to do with the selling, perpetrating or planning of the Iraq War should never again hold a position higher than assistant trainee to the guy who picks up the shit of a dog that does not belong to anyone of any particular importance. If that position does not exist, we as a nation should create it just for this moment. Yet, despite my objections, Robert Mueller (head of the FBI at the time of the invasion and a big supporter of it) is leading the biggest investigation in the country. John Bolton, who advocated for the Iraq invasion as far back as the 1990s, is now national security adviser. Bill Kristol, who pushed for the war and said it would last two months, is now a regular panelist on MSNBC. And the list goes on.)

Unlike Defense Secretary McNamara, who admitted the Gulf of Tonkin incident never happened, we don’t have a smoking gun showing that the Bush administration created these lies to get us into Iraq. … Oh, wait! Turns out the paper shredder at the Bush Oval Office was on strike for a higher minimum wage in 2002, and in fact, we do have a memo written by Bush’s defense secretary, Donald Rumsfeld, a year before U.S. forces unleashed a reign of terror on the Iraqi people. His memo about warwith Iraq stated, “How start? US discovers Saddam connection to Sept 11 or to anthrax attacks? Or maybe a dispute over WMD inspections?”

I’m not sure what’s more striking—that this memo exists, or that it sounds like the Bush boys planned a massive international battle the same way a broke 35-year-old maps out his bad novel that he’s sure is the ticket out of his mom’s basement.

“How start horrible bloody war? Maybe Saddam found to moonlight as porn star?”

Point is, multiple completely false stories laid the groundwork for an invasion of Iraq that left well over 1 million people dead.

Number 1: The Bombing of Syria

President Bashar Assad gassed his own people, thereby guaranteeing more American involvement—and he did it just days after Donald Trump had told the Pentagon to begin withdrawing troops from Syria. At least, that’s the story the corporate media repeated on-loop for at least a month, only pausing every 10 minutes to try desperately to get us all to buy more things with “baconator” in the name or to seek out a harder penis.

So we are expected to believe Assad did the one thing that would ensure more U.S. involvement just as he was about to win his war? It’s kinda like how, when I’m about to win a fistfight, I often poke myself repeatedly in the eye. You know—just to keep it exciting.

Famed journalists Seymour Hersh and Robert Fisk have done great work showing that the chemical attacks never happened, but there’s a new update. Just two weeks ago, a BBC producer came forward and said the Douma, Syria, chemical attack footage was staged.

His tweet said that after six months of investigations, he can prove that no fatalities occurred in the hospital. Yet our breathlessly inept mainstream American media, with little to no evidence, ran around saying, “There was a chemical attack! Those poor people! And they don’t have toothpaste, either! We must bomb them to help them!”

The overarching point here is that we’ve replaced our media with stenographers to the ruling elite long ago. The ruling class comes up with a lie to manufacture American consent for its all-American war crimes, and that lie is then sprayed like laminate all over average American citizens. This goes on until such time as any average citizens who question said lie is looked at like they have two heads, and one of them is covered in rat shit.

For the “journalists” who hose the lies across the country the best, awards and private jets and rooftop drinks with midlevel celebrities like Chuck Norris await them. Now we’re getting to the point where the actual rulers—the Trump administration, etc.—are not even hiding their corruption. John Bolton stated on Fox News that the ultimate goal is to steal Venezuela’s oil. But our media continue to tout the propaganda line. Even after Bolton said that, you won’t see Anderson Cooper or one of Fox News’ grand wizards saying, “Venezuela is undergoing a U.S.-backed coup because we’d like to steal their oil.” It’s truly dizzying that the corporate media preserve the propaganda even after the “leaders” have revealed their true sinister intentions.

On the inside of Wolf Blitzer’s eyelids, the phrase, “Must Defend the Matrix” blinks in red.

The propaganda line for Venezuela right now is, “We want to help the poor Venezuelans.” Well, if you want to help them, then keep America out of their face. Don’t force them to have anything to do with the country that came up with drive-through fried food served in a bucket and opioid nasal sprays. At no point does anyone look at the Donald Trump presidency and think, “Wow, that country really has things figured out. I hope they bring some of their great decision-making to our doorstep.”

Ongelofelijk maar waar: Sam Harris, volgens de schrijver van het hieronder opgenomen artikel, Caitlin Johnstone, een goeroe van de atheïsten, heeft laten weten dat hij het verhaal gelooft dat Rusland de presidentsverkiezingen van 2016 heeft gemanipuleerd, ondanks dat daar totaal geen bewijs voor is gegeven en dat na 2 jaar lang leugens over deze zaak (zonder dat men in die tijd met bewijzen kwam…)….

Harris liet als atheïst o.a. weten het niet te begrijpen dat mensen een geloof omarmen, een geloof bijvoorbeeld in een god, waarvoor elk bewijs ontbreekt…….. Nu doet deze Harris precies hetzelfde als christenen doen, geloven in een zaak die niet te bewijzen is, daar deze nooit heeft plaatsgevonden….
Je vraagt je wellicht af waarom Harris gelooft dat Rusland de verkiezingen manipuleerde, wel dat is héééél simpel: de geheime diensten van de VS zeggen dat het zo is……. ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Als er nu één ding duidelijk is, is het wel het feit dat de geheime diensten in de VS vooral goed zijn in liegen, zelfs als het tegendeel meer dan bewezen is, neem de leugens die hebben geleid tot de illegale oorlog in 2003 van de VS en haar NAVO partners tegen Irak. De claim dat Irak massavernietigingswapens had, was al 10 keer naar de prullenbak verwezen door het VN team van wapeninspecteurs o.l.v. Blix…….

Credulous Atheist Believes Evidence-Free Establishment Russia Narrative

The other day RT reporter Dan Cohen flagged how New Atheism guru Sam Harris recently had a shady cold war manipulator on his podcast promulgating the establishment narrative that Russian hackers and trolls interfered in the 2016 US election, despite the fact that there is no more publicly available evidence for this than there is for the existence of biblical Jehovah. I find this both fascinating and hilarious.

 Harris, author of The End of Faith and commonly mentioned in the same breath as atheistic thought leaders like Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens, once wrote the following:

“While believing strongly, without evidence, is considered a mark of madness or stupidity in any other area of our lives, faith in God still holds immense prestige in our society. Religion is the one area of our discourse where it is considered noble to pretend to be certain about things no human being could possibly be certain about. It is telling that this aura of nobility extends only to those faiths that still have many subscribers. Anyone caught worshipping Poseidon, even at sea, will be thought insane.”

Belief in the establishment Russia narrative is very much the same. As Ray McGovern of Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity recently documented in an excellent article for Consortium News titled “A Look Back at Clapper’s Jan. 2017 ‘Assessment’ on Russia-gate”, the entire election meddling narrative was built upon an ODNI* assessment by two dozen analysts hand-picked and overseen by James Clapper. McGovern notes how Clapper, then the Director of National Intelligence, is notorious for having helped sell the lies that led to the Iraq invasion, for lying to congress about NSA surveillance, and for multiple instances of claiming that Russians are genetically predisposed to nefarious behavior.
We the public have never seen the evidence that led to this extremely shady assessment’s findings, yet those findings have gradually been integrated into mass media reports as infallible fact upon which the rest of the establishment Russia narrative has been built. Like belief in mainstream religions, the only reason its lack of evidence fails to come into question is because it has been made popular by mainstream politicians and credulous media talking heads who have been reporting it as fact day in and day out for two years, without adding any solid, tangible evidence to the equation beyond the unsubstantiated say-so of intelligence agencies with an extensive record of lying to the public to manufacture support for preexisting geopolitical agendas. It’s an entirely faith-based narrative, only instead of placing faith in the words of priests and books authored by long-dead men, faith is placed in the authoritative say-so of the imperial intelligence community.

It’s funny then, given the aforementioned quote, that Harris escalated his already highly credulous relationship with the CIA Russia narrative in a podcast earlier this month titled “The Information War” in which he nodded faithfully along with a guest whose organization was recently exposed as having manufactured the appearance of Russian election meddling in an Alabama Senate race. His guest, Renee DiResta, is named in a December New York Times report for her involvement in a project by narrative control firm New Knowledge, which claims in an internal document to have “orchestrated an elaborate ‘false flag’ operation that planted the idea that the [Alabama Senate candidate Roy] Moore campaign was amplified on social media by a Russian botnet.” This same narrative control firm which manufactured the bogus story that Moore was being amplified by Russian bots also authored two reports on Russian social media meddling for the US Congress in December which set off a week’s worth of hysterical shrieking headlines.
At no time in Harris’ interview with DiResta does he question any of her cold war rhetoric or baseless assertions, and indeed he eggs her along with agreeable questions along the lines of the CIA/CNN Russia narrative.
“Many people, certainly most Trump supporters, continue to doubt whether Russia interfered in anything in 2016,” Harris said, as though skepticism of the unproven claims of shady intelligence agencies is a bad thing, then asked point-blank, “Is there any basis for doubt about that at this point?”
“Nope,” DiResta replied.
“This is just crystal clear as a matter of what our intelligence services tell us, and a matter of what people like you can ascertain by just studying online behavior?” Harris helpfully added.
“It happened,” DiResta replied. “There’s really nothing else to say about it. The intelligence agencies know it happened, foreign governments know it happened, the platforms acknowledge it happened.
There may be some small group of people that continues to live like ostriches, but that doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.”
Intelligence agencies know something happened, therefore it happened. The Pope knows bread and wine transubstantiates into the literal body and blood of Jesus Christ, therefore it happens. Sam Harris went right along with this, completely unquestioning like a good little cult member.

In an article for The Nation, journalist Aaron Maté breaks down how the data within the establishment Russia narrative itself shows that Russia’s social media involvement in US politics was “small, amateurish, and mostly unrelated to the 2016 election,” with only a tiny fraction of the Russia-based Internet Research Agency’s US content having anything to do with the election at all, a very small amount of funds allocated to the total project, and making up an infinitesimally small percentage of total social media content viewed by Americans. Maté has also noted that the total expenditure on IRA posts for the entire US election is actually comparable to what New Knowledge spent on its “false flag operation” in the Alabama Senate race alone, which New Knowledge claims was too small to have impacted the election.
If that’s not enough reason for you to be skeptical, Maté and the Moon of Alabama blog point out that there is no evidence that the Internet Research Agency had any intent to influence the election, nor indeed that it is anything other than a for-profit clickbait operation. Looking at the content of the posts we’ve been shown and the statistics we’ve been told about them, this is very difficult to argue against, which is probably why nobody ever tries to.
Sam Harris the credulous atheist never brings any of this up, uncritically letting his guest spout faith-based doctrine about both Kremlin social media interference and Russian hacking.
“Let’s talk about the WikiLeaks data dump,” DiResta said later in the podcast. “So as you mentioned at the start, the GRU** had this hack, they had these emails and they laundered these emails through WikiLeaks. They gave them to WikiLeaks.”
There is no more publicly available evidence that this happened than there is that the Qur’an is the actual, literal word of actual, literal Allah, yet Sam Harris the credulous atheist never asked her for evidence of her claims. He uncritically let her advance not just establishment narratives but establishment agendas as well, nodding agreeably along as she called for social media platforms to collaborate with intelligence agencies and grieved about America being legally unable to respond with propaganda of its own to Russian online manipulations.


Support for establishment cold war narratives against Russia is not the only front along which Sam Harris finds himself in alignment with neoconservatism, whose push for a more aggressive posture toward the USSR was one of the early tenets of the movement. Harris’ extensive history of Islamophobic comments and his sympathetic attitude toward the so-called “war on terror” and US military interventionism in Muslim-majority nations play right into the hands of neoconservative agendas in the Middle East, and he’s been accused of being a closet neocon so much he’s had to publicly address it. Neoconservatives have been consistently wrong about literally everything to do with foreign policy for decades, yet Sam Harris the credulous atheist finds theirs a sufficiently rational ideology to ride alongside. There is no more evidence that US interventionism in the Middle East is helpful than there is for the existence of Vishnu, yet Sam Harris the credulous atheist uncritically endorses it.
Establishment-fueled Russia hysteria is a religion. It is an entirely faith-based belief system which has toxic effects on the people who subscribe to it, and toxic effects on the world as it manufactures support for insane escalations between two nuclear superpowers. As we discussed yesterday, if you don’t have a functioning radar for detecting malignant narratives, you might get lucky and find yourself in opposition to some pernicious belief systems, yet also find yourself selling CIA narratives to your very large online audience as well.
Credulous atheist Sam Harris doesn’t oppose all religions. He is critical of some of them, and he is a zealous bishop of others.

Trump volgt het scenario van deep state: oorlog met Iran ‘is onvermijdelijk….’

John C. O’Day publiceerde vorige week vrijdag een artikel op Fair.org dat ik overnam van Anti-Media (en dat je onder mijn schrijven terug kan vinden). Hierin vestigt O’Day de aandacht op de Iran-deal van een paar jaar geleden, deze deal of: the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), werd destijds bediscussieerd in de reguliere (massa-) media, waar men stelde dat Iran ofwel deze deal moest slikken, daar anders alleen oorlog met Iran zou overblijven als alternatief………

De voorspelling dat oorlog het enige alternatief zou zijn, werd door de Trump administratie gevolgd, door de deal alsnog af te blazen en met enorme anti-Iran propaganda te beweren dat Iran zich niet aan de deal houdt, ook al zeggen alle VN wapeninspecties dat Iran inderdaad is gestopt met de verrijking van uranium en is begonnen met het ontmantelen van de daarvoor benodigde centrifuges.

Bolton, de oorlogshitser en oorlogsmisdadiger (die voor het leven gevangen zou moeten zitten in Scheveningen) beweerde dat wanneer Iran de boel zou belazeren, het land te maken zou krijgen met ‘de woede van de VS’, ofwel met grootscheepse terreur in de vorm van één van de zwaarste oorlogsmisdaden, het beginnen van alweer een illegale oorlog door deze grootste terreurentiteit op aarde…………

Een belachelijke uitlating van Bolton daar de VS zonder enig bewijs en in tegenspraak met officiële VN rapporten toch al stelt dat Iran vals speelt, m.a.w.: de reden voor de VS om een (illegale) oorlog tegen Iran te beginnen, is door de VS zelf gecreëerd…….. (iets waar de VS ‘goed in is’, neem alle false flag operaties van deze terreurenteit)
O’Day stelt dat de woorden van figuren als Bolton en Trump nog amper op kritiek kunnen rekenen in de VS, wat volgens hem het gevolg is van de berichtgeving in de reguliere media……. O’Day noemt een groot aantal voorbeelden en stelt dan ook dat de Trump administratie die media volgt, echter daar ben ik het niet mee eens. O’Day vergeet het begrip Deep State, de werkelijke machthebbers, die al helemaal niet blij waren met de Iran-deal. Deze Deep State beheerst ook de massamedia en zijn derhalve verantwoordelijk voor wat die media brengen aan (nep-) nieuws, leugens en pure propaganda (waarbij Goebbels z’n gore vingers zou aflikken….)

Ondanks dat een groot deel van die media in onmin leven met Trump, staan ze volkomen achter de terreur die de VS verspreidt over het Midden-Oosten, Latijns-Amerika en Afrika……. Vergeet daarnaast niet dat het in feite niet uitmaakt wie er regeert in de VS, al helemaal niet wat betreft de buitenlandpolitiek, neem ‘vredesduif’ Obama die als eerste VS president de volle 2 termijnen in (illegale) oorlogen was verwikkeld met meerdere landen en er zelf (officieel) 2 begon….

Trump Administration Follows Corporate Media Playbook for War With Iran

(FAIR.org) — Three years ago, as Americans debated the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) agreement with the Islamic Republic of Iran—popularly known as “the Iran deal”—I highlighted a troubling media trend on FAIR.org (8/20/15): “For nearly all commentators, regardless of their position, war is the only alternative to that position.”
In the months since US President Donald Trump tore up the JCPOA agreement, his administration has been trying to make good on corporate media’s collective prediction. Last week, John Bolton (BBC, 9/26/18), Trump’s national security advisor and chief warmonger, told Iran’s leaders and the world that there would be “hell to pay” if they dare to “cross us.”

That Bolton’s bellicose statements do not send shockwaves of pure horror across a debt-strapped and war-weary United States is thanks in large part to incessant priming for war, facilitated by corporate media across the entire political spectrum, with a particular focus on Iran.
Back in 2015, while current “resistance” stalwarts like the Washington Post (4/2/15)
and Politico (8/11/15) warned us that war with Iran was the most likely alternative to the JCPOA, conservative standard-bearers such as Fox News (7/14/15) and the Washington Times (8/10/15) foretold that war with Iran was the agreement’s most likely outcome. Three years hence, this dynamic has not changed.

To experience the full menu of US media’s single-mindedness about Iran, one need only buy a subscription to the New York Times. After Trump withdrew from the JCPOA, the Times’ editorial board (5/8/18) wrote that his move would “lay conditions for a possible wider war in the Middle East.” Susan Rice (New York Times, 5/8/18), President Barack Obama’s national security advisor, agreed: “We could face the choice of going to war or acquiescing to a nuclear-armed Iran,” she warned. Cartoonist Patrick Chappatte (New York Times, 5/10/18) was characteristically more direct, penning an image of Trump alongside Bolton, holding a fictitious new agreement featuring the singular, ultimate word: “WAR.”
On the other hand, calling Trump’s turn against JCPOA a “courageous decision,” Times columnist Bret Stephens (5/8/18) explained that the move was meant to force the Iranian government to make a choice: Either accede to US demands or “pursue their nuclear ambitions at the cost of economic ruin and possible war.” (Hardly courageous, when we all know there is no chance that Trump or Stephens would enlist should war materialize.)
Trump’s latest antics at the United Nations have spurred a wave of similar reaction across corporate media. Describing his threat to “totally destroy North Korea” at the UN General Assembly last year as “pointed and sharp,” Fox News anchor Eric Shawn (9/23/18) asked Bill Richardson, an Obama ally and President Bill Clinton’s ambassador to the UN, whether Trump would take the same approach toward Iran. “That aggressive policy we have with Iran is going to continue,” Richardson reassured the audience, “and I don’t think Iran is helping themselves.” In other words, if the United States starts a war with Iran, it’s totally Iran’s fault.
Politico (9/23/18), meanwhile, reported that Trump “is risking a potential war with Iran unless he engages the Islamist-led country using diplomacy.” In other words, if the United States starts a war with Iran, it’s totally Trump’s fault. Rice (New York Times, 9/26/18) reiterated her view that Trump’s rhetoric “presages the prospect of war in the Persian Gulf.” Whoever would be the responsible party is up for debate, but that war is in our future is apparently all but certain.
Politico’s article cited a statement signed by such esteemed US experts on war-making as Madeleine Albright, who presided over Clinton’s inhuman sanctions against Iraq in the ’90s, and Ryan Crocker, former ambassador for presidents George W. Bush and Obama to some of America’s favorite killing fields: Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Syria. James Clapper, Obama’s National Intelligence Director, who also signed the letter, played an important role in trumping up WMD evidence against Saddam Hussein before the United States invaded Iraq in 2003. When it comes to US aggression, they’re the experts.
Vanity Fair (9/26/18) interviewed John Glaser of the Cato Institute, who called Trump’s strategy “pathetic,” and also warned that it forebodes war. In an effort to “one-up Obama,” Glaser explained, Trump’s plan is “to apply extreme economic pressure and explicit threats of war in order to get Iran to capitulate.” Sound familiar? As Glaser implies, this was exactly Obama’s strategy, only then it wasn’t seen as “pathetic,” but rather reasonable, and the sole means for preventing the war that every US pundit and politician saw around the corner (The Hill, 8/9/15).
When everyone decides that war is the only other possibility, it starts to look like an inevitability. But even when they aren’t overtly stoking war fever against Iran, corporate media prime the militaristic pump in more subtle yet equally disturbing ways.

First among these is the near-complete erasure of Iranian voices from US airwaves (FAIR.org, 7/24/15). Rather than ask Iranians directly, national outlets like CNN (9/29/18) prefer to invite the prime minister of Israel, serial Iran alarmist and regional pariah Benjamin Netanyahu, to speak for them. During a jovial discussion this weekend over whether regime change and/or economic collapse is Iran’s most likely fate, Netanyahu explained to the audience that, either way,
“The ones who will be happiest if that happens are the people of Iran.” No people of Iran were on hand to confirm or deny this assessment.
Bloomberg (9/30/18) similarly wanted to know, “What’s not to like about Trump’s Iran oil sanctions?” Julian Lee gleefully reported that “they are crippling exports from the Islamic Republic, at minimal cost to the US.” One might think the toll sanctions take on innocent Iranians would be something not to like, but Bloomberg merely worried that, notwithstanding the windfall for US refineries, “oil at $100 a barrel would be bad news for drivers everywhere—including those in the US.”
Another prized tactic is to whitewash Saudi Arabia, Iran’s chief geopolitical rival, whose genocidal destruction of Yemen is made possible by the United States, about which corporate media remain overwhelmingly silent (FAIR.org, 7/23/18). Iran’s involvement in Yemen, which both Trump and the New York Times (9/12/18) describe as “malign behavior,” is a principal justification for US support of Saudi Arabia, including the US-supplied bombs that recently ended the brief lives of over 40 Yemeni schoolchildren. Lockheed Martin’s stock is up 34 percentfrom Trump’s inauguration day.
Corporate media go beyond a simple coverup of Saudi crimes to evangelize their leadership as the liberal antidote to Iran’s “theocracy.” Who can forget Thomas Friedman’s revolting puff piece for the Saudi crown prince Mohammad bin Salman? Extensively quoting Salman (New York Times, 11/23/17), who refers to Iranian Ayatollah Ali Khamenei as “the new Hitler of the Middle East,” Friedman nevertheless remains pessimistic about whether “MBS and his team” can see their stand against Iran through, as “dysfunction and rivalries within the Sunni Arab world generally have prevented forming a unified front.” Oh well, every team needs cheerleaders, and Friedman isn’t just a fair-weather fan.
While Friedman (New York Times, 5/15/18) believes that Trump has drawn “some needed attention to Iran’s bad behavior,” for him pivotal questions remain unanswered, such as “who is going to take over in Tehran if the current Islamic regime collapses?” One immediate fix he proposed was to censure Iran’s metaphorical “occupation” of Syria, Iraq and Lebanon. Isn’t this ironic coming from an unapologetic propagandist for Washington’s decades-long, non-metaphorical occupation of the two countries to the east and west of Iran (FAIR.org, 12/9/15)?
In a surprising break from corporate media convention, USA Today (9/26/18) published a column on US/Iran relations written by an actual Iranian. Reflecting on the CIA-orchestrated coup against Iran’s elected government in 1953, Azadeh Shahshahani, who was born four days after the 1979 revolution there, wrote:

 “I often wonder what would have happened if that coup had not worked, if [Prime Minister] Mosaddeq had been allowed to govern, if democracy had been allowed to flourish.”
“It is time for the US government to stop intervening in Iran and let the Iranian people determine their own destiny,” she beseeched readers.

Shahshahani’s call is supported by some who have rejected corporate media’s war propaganda and have gone to extreme lengths to have their perspectives heard. Anti-war activist and Code Pink founder Medea Benjamin was recently forcibly removed after she upstaged Brian Hook, leader of Trump’s Iran Action Group, on live TV, calling his press conference “the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen” (Real News, 9/21/18). Benjamin implored the audience: “Let’s talk about Saudi Arabia. Is that who our allies are?”
“How dare you bring up the issue of Yemen,” admonished Benjamin as she was dragged from the room. “It’s the Saudi bombing that is killing most people in Yemen. So let’s get real. No more war! Peace with Iran!” Code Pink is currently petitioning the New York Times and Washington Post to stop propagandizing war.
Sadly, no matter whom you ask in corporate media, be they spokespeople for “Trump’s America” or “the resistance,” peace remains an elusive choice in the US political imagination. And while the public was focused last week on Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh’s perjurious testimony, the Senate finalized a $674 billion “defense” budget. Every single Democrat in the chamber voted in favor of the bill, explicitly naming Iran as persona non grata in the United States’ world-leading arms supply network, which has seen a 25 percent increase in exports since Obama took office in 2009.
The US government’s imperial ambitions are perhaps its only truly bipartisan project—what the New York Times euphemistically refers to as “globalism.” Nowhere was this on fuller display than at the funeral for Republican Sen. John McCain (FAIR.org, 9/11/18), where politicians of all stripes were tripping over themselves to produce the best accolades for a man who infamously sang“bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran” to the tune of a Beach Boys song.
McCain’s bloodlust was nothing new. Nearly a hundred years ago, after the West’s imperial competition culminated in the most destructive war the world had ever seen, the brilliant American sociologist and anti-colonial author WEB Du Bois wrote, “This is not Europe gone mad; this is not aberration nor insanity; this is Europe.”
Iranian leaders have repeatedly said they do not want war with the US (AP, 9/27/18), but US corporate media, despite frequently characterizing Trump as a “mad king” (FAIR.org, 6/13/18), continue to play an instrumental role in rationalizing a future war with Iran. Should such an intentional catastrophe come to pass, we can hardly say that this would be America gone mad; war is not aberration, it is always presented as the next sane choice. This is America.

9/11 getuigen totaal genegeerd door media (en overheid)

Brasscheck TV bracht gisteren weer een video over de 9/11 aanslagen in 2001.
Hoewel vaker ter sprake gebracht, een video over de honderden getuigen van die aanslagen die door de reguliere (massa-) media en de overheid werden genegeerd. Getuigen die allen precies hetzelfde vertelden: dat ze een flink aantal explosies hoorden tijdens ‘de aanslagen’ op de Twin Towers en WTC gebouw 7…….
Wel geeft dit weer een nieuwe kijk op de zaak, blijkbaar werden de media al heel snel ingeseind geen aandacht aan dergelijke getuigenissen te geven en ‘zoals het fatsoenlijke en onafhankelijke media dan betaamd’, volg je netjes de instructies van de overheid, je bent er immers niet om de waarheid te vertellen, maar ‘de waarheid’ te verkondigen zoals die door de overheid wordt aangeleverd……

De redactie van Brasscheck spreekt over censuur waar men het woord zelfcensuur had moeten gebruiken voor de media, die de officiële leugens als waarheid brachten en nog steeds brengen….. Immers die zogenaamde censuur wordt ook buiten deze zaak veelvuldig gehanteerd door de bedoelde media, waar ook de superrijke eigenaren-plutocraten en aandeelhouders-investeerders van die media belang hebben bij volgzame media, die vooral hun belangen moeten behartigen…..
Zoals we deze praktijken al zo vaak hebben gezien, neem alleen al de illegale oorlogen van de VS tegen Irak, Libië en Syrië, waaraan voorafgaand en tijdens die oorlogen de ene leugen na de andere werd en wordt gelanceerd, waar de media deze leugens hebben uitgedragen en uitdragen als was het via een grondig onderzoek verkregen informatie……. Moet je nagaan, diezelfde media hebben de bek vol van ‘fake news’ (nepnieuws) op de sociale media….. ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha!

 Men spreekt ook in de reguliere media en politiek over complottheorieën als men het over dit soort berichten heeft, terwijl de echte complottheorie aangaande 9/11 door de VS overheid werd gelanceerd! (en zoals gezegd herhaald door de reguliere westerse media en het grootste deel van de westerse politici) Voor het feit dat 9/11 minstens door de VS zelf werd geregisseerd en het officiële verhaal een vette leugen is, liggen intussen meters aan dossiers, zie o.a. de links onderaan dit bericht.
