Al-Baghdadi (top ISIS) vermoord, nu nog zijn bazen berechten

Veel ophef en hysterisch opgeluchte berichtgeving over de moord op al-Baghdadi, want moord blijft het als iemand wordt gedood zonder een eerlijk proces te hebben gehad, maar ach, daar maalt men al lang niet meer om in het ‘beschaafde westen….’

Nu nog de bazen van al-Baghdadi voor het Internationaal Strafhof (ICC) slepen, de bazen ofwel: Obama, (H.) Clinton, Kerry, Trump, Tillerson en Pompeo, daarnaast uiteraard een fiks aantal baasjes van geheime diensten die met voornoemde personen en met IS (ISIS) samenspanden tegen het sjiitische bewind in Irak en tegen het bewind Assad in Syrië…… Voorts is de VS een paar keer betrapt op het leveren van wapens en rollend oorlogstuig aan IS, dit in de Iraakse woestijn…..

De VS stond aan de wieg van IS, hebben deze terroristen in Libië ingezet ten tijde van de westerse oorlog tegen dit eertijds rijkste land van Afrika, dat door westerse terreur is verworden tot bijna het armste land van dat continent……. Na zo ongeveer de vernietiging van Libië, vervoerde de VS grote groepen terroristen waaronder een fiks aantal IS strijders, vanuit dat land naar Irak (met hulp van Egypte), vandaar werden ze bewapend en van rollend oorlogstuig voorzien over de grens met Syrië gebracht, dit om (zoals gezegd) het bewind Assad ten val te brengen…….

Ach het is als met Al Qaida: Osama bin Laden is vermoord door de VS, terwijl dezelfde VS nu al weer jaren samenwerkt met deze terreurgroep en dat ook heeft gedaan voor de moord op bin Laden…….

Al-Baghdadi is dood, alsof hij niet te vervangen is……..

Protesten Hongkong krijgen veel media aandacht, terwijl protesten in landen die westers gezind zijn vaak worden genegeerd…..

Caitlin Johnstone schreef een artikel over het verschil in media aandacht voor de protesten in Hongkong en protesten in niet westerse landen die braaf doen wat het westen (lees; de VS) nodig acht, voor de eerste is er enorm veel aandacht en voor de tweede is amper of totaal geen aandacht…….
Niet verrassend is het feit dat het ministerie van BuZa in de VS gebruik maakt van deze gespleten aandacht voor protesten, wat zeg ik: die aandacht in de media wordt mede ingegeven door de overheid van de VS*. Zo liet Brian Hook, een hielenlikker van oorlogsmisdadiger Bolton, in 2017 aan Rex Tillerson (die toen net VS minister van buitenlandse zaken was) weten dat mensenrechtenschendingen in Rusland, China, Iran, Venezuela en Noord-Korea met extra veel aandacht veroordeeld moeten worden, terwijl diezelfde schending van mensenrechten in bijvoorbeeld Saoedi-Arabië, Indonesië, Filipijnen, Honduras en Israël het liefst (zo lang mogelijk) uit de media moeten worden gehouden……… Een en ander bleek uit een gelekt memo…….

Johnstone stelt terecht dat wanneer er een protestbeweging als de Yellow Vests in de VS tekeer zou gaan, deze zo lang mogelijk verzwegen zou worden door de media en dat men bij wel publiceren woorden voor de demonstranten zou gebruiken als fascisten, antisemieten of Russische pionnen (of Russische trollen)…..

Overigens is er maar weinig aandacht voor het uiterst gewelddadige karakter van de demonstraties in Hongkong, tja dat past niet zo in het plaatje dat men het volk wil voorhouden: een gewelddadig China dat op het punt staat ‘vreedzame demonstraties’ de kop in te drukken……
Het voorgaande, de aandacht die de westerse politici en massamedia wel hebben voor demonstraties in Hongkong, Iran of Venezuela, is ook in Nederland de manier van berichten in de reguliere media (Telegraaf, Volkskrant, NRC, Radio1 enz. enz.). Journalisten van die media hier hebben al te vaak laten zien zaken te laten liggen als deze niet in het belang van de Nederlandse regering, de VS of de NAVO zijn, of als ze negatief uitpakken voor de bestaande neoliberale status quo…..

De volkomen ten onrechte over een paardendrol getilde hufter Max van Weezel (als was hij een journalist van formaat), liet een paar jaar geleden op Radio1 geheel parmantig weten bepaalde zaken zeker niet te zullen brengen (als deze bijvoorbeeld onrust in de maatschappij zouden kunnen veroorzaken)…….
Vanmorgen hoorde ik Paul van Gessel, oud-grofgraaier van AT5, op Radio1 zeggen: “Geef ons brood en spelen”, toen men na 10.00 u. zat te zeuren over ‘oude formules’ als ‘Man bijt Hond’ dat weer uitgezonden schijnt te worden…….. Ofwel de zich journalist noemende van Gessel wil ‘brood en spelen’, een uitvinding van waarschijnlijk de Romeinen om onrust onder het volk te sussen en zo protesten te voorkomen….. ‘Brood en spelen’ houden de mensen weg van wat er echt gebeurt in de wereld en juist dat, het vertellen wat er werkelijk gebeurt is nu juist precies wat de reguliere media dag in dag uit zouden moeten brengen……. Maar nee, geef van Gessel en een heel leger andere Nederlandse ‘journalisten’ maar ‘brood en spelen’, dan kunnen ze daar de kranten, websites, radio en tv mee vullen……
De NOS op Radio1, ziet het dan ook als haar taak om in het Radio1 Journaal ‘s morgens zoveel mogelijk sport te proppen, dit nog naast ellenlange reclameblokken en muziek waar niemand op wacht……… (brood en spelen) De gasten die te horen zijn in het Radio1 Journaal hebben maar al te vaak weinig of niets te brengen, waarbij de presentator de onderwerpen zo lang mogelijk probeert uit te melken (onderwerpen als die ‘Van gewest tot gewest’), niet vreemd dus dat een presentator, zoals Jurgen van den Berg regelmatig vragen stelt waarop de gast eerder in het gesprek al een antwoord heeft gegeven (niet zelden zelfs al 2 keer)…….. De eerder prima presentatoren van dit programma, Marcel Oosten en Frederique de Jong, moesten het veld ruimen voor minkukel van den Berg en daarmee werd het Radio1 Journaal een orgaan dat de status quo bewaakt en onrust moet voorkomen……**

Kortom: de westerse reguliere media zijn verworden tot propagandaorganen van het grootkapitaal, de neoliberale status quo en voor de illegale oorlogen die de VS met hulp van haar oorlogshond NAVO voert tegen landen waar de VS en de rest van het westen niets te zoeken hebben…… Overigens stelt Johnstone terecht dat er wel degelijk goede redenen kunnen zijn dat men demonstreert, waar je wel op moet letten of protesten niet zijn georganiseerd door de CIA, zoals deze terreurorganisatie dit bijvoorbeeld ook in Iran en Oekraïne heeft gedaan (en dat protest was dan ook in die landen uiterst gewelddadig)

How To Make Sense Of Foreign Protests, Conflicts And Uprisings

The Australian Broadcasting Corporation, our government-funded media outlet, has published an article titled “Australian expat living in Hong Kong throws off business suit to join protest movement“. The entire story is in the headline: some random guy, who ABC keeps anonymous but for the name “Daniel”, has joined the protests in Hong Kong. That’s it. That’s the whole entire bombshell newsworthy news story.

“In Australia we have proper democracy but in Hong Kong, democracy is being slowly eroded away and I’ll try to do whatever I can to try and help the cause,” the anonymous guy told ABC.

This sort of enthusiastic empty non-story cheerleading is typical for western media coverage of the Hong Kong protests so far, while these same media outlets consistently ignore or downplay protests against the government of France, Israel, Honduras, India, Indonesia and any other region that happens to fall within the US-centralized power alliance. It’s an amazingly reliable pattern: the entire western political/media class finds protests and uprisings endlessly fascinating when they are in opposition to governments which haven’t yet been absorbed into the imperial blob like China, Russia, Iran, Venezuela, Syria, pre-collapse Libya, or then-Moscow-aligned Ukraine, but any protests or uprisings within that empire are ignored at best or demonized at worst.

If dissidents in the United States began donning yellow vests and holding aggressive demonstrations in the current media environment, you could safely bet your bottom dollar that they would be ignored for as long as possible and then smeared as fascists, antisemites and/or Russian pawns thereafter. This would happen with absolute certainty.

This very reliable trend in the western media is very interesting, because it also happens to be the known position of the US State Department.

In 2017 a memo was leaked to Politico in which the sniveling John Bolton lackey Brian Hook explained to DC neophyte Rex Tillerson how to perform his job as Secretary of State with regard to human rights violations. Hook explained that the US government must downplay and ignore the human rights violations of US allies like Saudi Arabia, Egypt and the Philippines while aggressively targeting unabsorbed governments like China, Russia, Iran and North Korea for any allegations of human rights violations on their part.

“In the case of US allies such as Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the Philippines, the Administration is fully justified in emphasizing good relations for a variety of important reasons, including counter-terrorism, and in honestly facing up to the difficult tradeoffs with regard to human rights,” Hook explained in the memo.

“One useful guideline for a realistic and successful foreign policy is that allies should be treated differently — and better — than adversaries,” Hook wrote. “Otherwise, we end up with more adversaries, and fewer allies. The classic dilemma of balancing ideals and interests is with regard to America’s allies. In relation to our competitors, there is far less of a dilemma. We do not look to bolster America’s adversaries overseas; we look to pressure, compete with, and outmaneuver them. For this reason, we should consider human rights as an important issue in regard to US relations with China, Russia, North Korea, and Iran.”

This State Department memo is really all you need to understand what’s going on whenever there’s any kind of uprising or conflict in a foreign nation. Hell, it’s almost all you need to understand the dynamics of empire in general. And, combined with the consistent pattern we’ve seen in coverage of protests and uprisings against empire-absorbed governments versus unabsorbed ones, it certainly tells you all you need to know about the state of the western media.
In theory the US Department of State was meant to serve as a counterpart to what was then called the Department of War (later falsely re-titled the “Department of Defense”). In theory the State Department was meant to specialize in peace and diplomacy in the same way the War Department specialized in war. In practice the warmongers just got two war departments.

Understand this one basic concept and you can understand all the hot topic foreign policy issues of any given day: there is an alliance of nations, centralized around US military and economic power, which effectively functions as a single empire. This empire works tirelessly to either absorb unabsorbed governments into its blob, or at least to undermine and marginalize them so they can’t impede the empire’s growth. The goal of the empire is total global domination without causing a nuclear war and without the public noticing that they’re living in an empire. In this sense it’s essentially a silent, slow motion third world war.

I see some of my readers voicing confusion about the protests in Hong Kong, but if you understand the basic dynamic I just described you’ll see that this is really no different from the protests and uprisings we’ve seen in Venezuela, Iran, Syria, Libya and Ukraine: the western political/media class are backing an uprising which benefits the imperial blob and undermines an unabsorbed government. This doesn’t mean that the protesters don’t have grievances or that none of those grievances are legitimate, it just means that you’re being told to cheerlead for an agenda by empire narrative managers solely because your doing so benefits that empire.

So don’t. Refuse to be a pro bono CIA propagandist. This doesn’t mean you need to oppose the protesters in Hong Kong, Venezuela or anywhere else, it just means that the only people who benefit from westerners cheerleading a CIA-approved uprising against an unabsorbed government are your rulers, who work endlessly to manufacture support for pro-empire agendas.

People who don’t get this sometimes tell me that we should “support” the protesters in a given unabsorbed region, but they’re always very reluctant to say what they mean by “support”. Do they mean simply joining the western mass media in uncritically cheerleading for an uprising which benefits western power structures? Do they mean send them money? Weapons? An emotional thumbs-up? Prayers? Getting someone to say what they mean when they say we should “support” the Hong Kong protesters or whomever is like pulling teeth, because it would bring up a lot of cognitive dissonance to actually turn and examine what’s behind the impulse they’re following: narrative management. They’re promoting pro-empire narrative management, and nothing more.

And they’re doing this because the empire narrative managers trained them to.

“Centrist” empire loyalists tend to ignore the protests in places like France while amplifying and cheerleading the protests in places like Hong Kong. Right-wing empire loyalists sometimes do it a little differently, actively conflating the Yellow Vests protests with protests in places like Hong Kong despite the very different forces that are at play in those two situations. But in both cases they’re effectively mirroring the same State Department posture that Brian Hook tried to educate into Rex Tillerson in 2017.

Don’t subject yourself to such indignities. If the political/media class is going to propagandize the masses into supporting the advancement of the agendas of the empire, at least make them do it without your help.

Iran: moderne oorlogspropaganda ingezet door VS tegen ‘ongehoorzaam land…’

‘Zo ziet moderne oorlogspropaganda eruit’, luidt de kop boven een artikel van Caitlin Johnsone. Ze beschrijft hierin het grote aantal video’s, waarin heldhaftige jonge Iraanse moslim vrouwen ‘vechten’ voor hun vrijheid.

Johnstone wijst op het grote aantal malen dat deze video’s worden gedeeld door republikeinen en de pro-Israël lobby (plus: zionisten*), groepen die normaal gesproken totaal geen moeite hebben met de onderdrukking van vrouwen in islamitische landen, het gaat hier dan ook om Iraanse moslims (Iran is voor 89% sjiitisch) en niet om hun zwaar onderdrukte seksegenoten uit bijvoorbeeld Saoedi-Arabië (84% soennieten) of Egypte (93% soennieten)…….
Nee sterker nog: de reguliere westerse media en het grootste deel van de westerse politici roemen Mohammad bin Salman al-Saoed ofwel MBS, zoals men deze psychopathische moordenaar aanduidt, daar deze nieuwe machthebber in Saoedi-Arabië die vrouwen het recht heeft gegeven om auto te rijden, een wassen neus als je ziet hoe het er verder wat ‘vrouwenrechten’ voorstaat in S-A….. (die rechten zijn er niet.. Oh nee dom van mij: ze mogen nu autorijden, zodat ze mooi de boodschappen kunnen doen, als ‘manlief’ uit z’n neus zit te eten, of achter andere vrouwen aanzit….) Oh en voor ik het vergeet, deze MBS is tevens verantwoordelijk voor de genocide op de sjiitische bevolking van Jemen, waarin hij aan alle kanten wordt gesteund door de VS en GB, 2 NAVO lidstaten (al is de VS de feitelijke baas van de NAVO)……
In Iran mogen vrouwen al heel lang in auto’s rijden, echter dat schijnt niet van belang te zijn in het westen…. Ook het feit dat de huidige regering in Iran voorzichtig probeert de macht van de sjiitische leiders los te weken, hoeft amper of niet op westerse belangstelling te rekenen…..
Johnstone kan dan ook niet anders concluderen dan dat hier sprake is van oorlogspropaganda…… De voormalige staatssecretaris van BuZa in de VS, Rex Tillerson heeft een beleidsmedewerker, Brian Hook en deze stelde in een uitgelekt memorandum van de Trump administratie dat mensenrechten moeten worden gebruikt als knuppel om onwillige staten als Iran, Noord-Korea en China mee te slaan, terwijl de schending van mensenrechten moet worden toegestaan aan landen als Saoedi-Arabië, Egypte, de Filipijnen en Israël (al noemt Johnstone het laatste land niet in deze combinatie)………. In het memorandum is verder te lezen dat bondgenoten anders en beter moeten worden behandeld dan tegenstanders, daar je anders meer tegenstanders dan bondgenoten overhoudt……. (de VS was zelfs voor Saoedi-Arabië op de post van voorzitter van de VN Mensenrechtencommissie >> UNHRC)
Uit het voorgaande kan je ten overvloede nog eens destilleren dat men in de VS knettergek is en werkelijk denkt een wereldrijk te zijn, waar het naar goeddunken kan moorden en verder alles mag doen wat god verboden heeft (en dat voor een zwaar ‘christelijke’ natie…), zolang het maar in het belang is van dat rijk….
In feite is de VS werkelijk al lang het Vierde Rijk en heel wat succesvoller dan het Derde van Hitler in nazi-Duitsland….. Sinds WOII heeft de VS al meer dan 22 miljoen mensen vermoord**, dit feit zou toch een teken aan de wand moeten zijn voor zowel politici als de reguliere media in de rest van het westen……. Maar nee, de VS wordt afgeschilderd als de politieagent van de wereld, ook door de ten onrechte zo bejubelde rechtse zakkenwasser Henk Hofland…… Het maakt niet uit hoe de VS tekeergaat, de rest van het westen neemt gedwee de pet af en buigt eerbiedig het hoofd als de grootste terreurentiteit op aarde weer aan het moorden slaat in een volgend land…….

I’ve been noticing videos going viral the last few days, some with millions of views, about Muslim women bravely fighting to free themselves from oppression in the Middle East. The videos, curiously, are being shared enthusiastically by many Republicans and pro-Israel hawks, who aren’t traditionally the sort of crowd you see rallying to support the civil rights of Muslims. What’s up with that?

Well, you may want to sit down for this shocker, but it turns out that they happen to be women from a nation that the US war machine is currently escalating operations against. They are Iranian.

Whenever you see the sudden emergence of an attractive media campaign that is sympathetic to the plight of civilians in a resource-rich nation unaligned with the western empire, you are seeing propaganda. When that nation is surrounded by other nations with similar human rights transgressions and yet those transgressions are ignored by that same media campaign, you are most certainly seeing propaganda. When that nation just so happens to already be the target of starvation sanctions and escalated covert CIA ops, you can bet the farm that you are seeing propaganda.

Back in December a memo was leaked from inside the Trump administration showing how then-Secretary of State, DC neophyte Rex Tillerson, was coached on how the US empire uses human rights as a pretense on which to attack and undermine noncompliant governments. Politico reports:

 The May 17 memo reads like a crash course for a businessman-turned-diplomat, and its conclusion offers a starkly realist vision: that the U.S. should use human rights as a club against its adversaries, like Iran, China and North Korea, while giving a pass to repressive allies like the Philippines, Egypt and Saudi Arabia”.

“Allies should be treated differently — and better — than adversaries. Otherwise, we end up with more adversaries, and fewer allies,” argued the memo, written by Tillerson’s influential policy aide, Brian Hook.

The propaganda machine doesn’t operate any differently from the State Department, since they serve the same establishment. US ally Saudi Arabia is celebrated by the mass media for “liberal reform” in allowing women to drive despite hard evidence that those “reforms” are barely surface-level cosmetics to present a pretty face to the western world, but Iranian women, who have been able to drive for years, are painted as uniquely oppressed. Iran is condemned by establishment war whores for the flaws in its democratic process, while Saudi Arabia, an actual monarchy, goes completely unscrutinized.

This is because the US-centralized power establishment, which has never at any point in its history cared about human rights, plans on effecting regime change in Iran by any means necessary. Should those means necessitate a potentially controversial degree of direct military engagement, the empire needs to make sure it retains control of the narrative.

I am currently getting tagged in these videos multiple times a day by Trump supporters who are eager to show me proof that I’m on the wrong side of the Iran issue; the psyop is so well-lubricated with a combination of sleek presentation and confirmation bias that it slides right past their skepticism and becomes accepted as fact, even the one with the Now This pussyhat propaganda logo in the corner.

Be less trusting of these monsters, please. The people of Afghanistan haven’t benefitted from the interminable military quagmire that has cost tens of thousands of their lives. The invaders of Iraq were never “greeted as liberators” by an oppressed population. The humanitarian intervention in Libya left a humanitarian catastrophe in its wake far more horrific than anything it claimed to be trying to prevent. Saving the children of Syria with western interventionism has left half a million Syrians dead.

If the Iranians do in fact wish to change their government, it should happen without crippling sanctions, collaboration with extremist terror cults, or the rapey tentacles of the CIA manipulating the situation. There has never been a US-led regime change in the Middle East that wasn’t disastrous. People should be screaming at the US and its allies to cease these interventions, not applauding propaganda that is clearly being manufactured by that same empire.

Na alle moeite die de VS zich al 20 jaar getroost om een eind te maken aan het democratisch gekozen socialistisch bewind van Venezuela, wijst alles erop dat de VS bezig is met Peru, Colombia en Brazilië, van wie de laatste twee landen grenzen aan Venezuela, een invasie voor te bereiden in dat land……..

Er hebben in 2017 al vier grote militaire oefeningen plaats gevonden in Latijns Amerika en zelfs de NAVO schijnt nu een militaire basis te hebben in Brazilië, waarschijnlijk dezelfde als de ‘tijdelijke’ militaire VS basis in Brazilië, in de buurt waar Venezuela, Brazilië en Colombia aan elkaar grenzen…… Zoals gezegd: vorig jaar hebben er maar liefst 4 grote militaire oefeningen plaatsgevonden, met deelname van Colombia, Brazilië en Peru, alles o.l.v. de VS….. Eén van die oefeningen, ‘Operation: America United’ was zelfs de grootste militaire oefening ooit gehouden in Midden- en Zuid-Amerika (Latijns Amerika)………

 Overigens heeft de VS al militaire bases in Colombia en het Caraïbisch gebied, onderhoudt daarnaast innige banden met andere landen in de buurt van Venezuela, wat dat betreft is Venezuela al omsingeld met VS militaire bases (uiteraard speelt ook Nederland weer ‘een mooie rol’ in deze…)
De VS is al meer dan 18 jaar bezig met een economische oorlog tegen Venezuela, al heeft deze tot nu toe weinig of niets opgeleverd wat betreft ‘regime change’. Al onder ‘vredesduif’ Obama heeft de VS deze oorlog verscherpt en VS bedrijven ‘dringend aangeraden’ hun supermarktketens in Venezuela niet langer te bevoorraden. Hetzelfde deed de VS met buitenlandse investeerders en je weet het waarschijnlijk wel, als de VS dreigt, gehoorzamen de bedrijven en instellingen, daar ze het anders wel kunnen vergeten als bedrijf of instelling……..

 Als gevolg van deze boycot is er niet alleen een groot tekort aan levensmiddelen, maar bijvoorbeeld ook aan medicijnen. Daarmee kan de VS ten overvloede nog eens worden aangewezen als een terreurstaat, die schijt heeft aan ellende onder de gewone bevolking en aan mensenrechten, zoals dit gestolen land al zo vaak elders heeft laten zien, maar zeker in Zuid- en Midden-Amerika…….

 De gewelddadige demonstraties in Venezuela van vorig jaar, werden ook al door de VS georganiseerd, waar zelfs gewapende groepen uit het buitenland werden ingezet tegen politie en leger van Venezuela……

 In 2002 heeft er al een militaire coup plaatsgevonden in Venezuela, die met hulp van de (arme) bevolking de kop werd ingedrukt, een coup die zoals gewoonlijk werd geregisseerd door de CIA…….
Een militaire coup nu lijkt zeer onwaarschijnlijk ,daar het leger voor het overgrote deel achter de socialistische regering Maduro staat.

US Regime Change Fails in Venezuela: Military Coup or Invasion Next?

(CN) — Several signals point to a possible military strike on Venezuela, with high-ranking officials and influential politicians making clear that it is a distinct possibility.
Speaking at his alma mater, the University of Texas, on February 1, Secretary of State Tillerson suggested a potential military coup in in the country. Tillerson then visited allied Latin American countries urging regime change and more economic sanctions on Venezuela. Tillerson is also reportedly considering banning the processing or sale of Venezuelan oil in the United States and is discouraging other countries from buying Venezuelan oil.
In a series of tweets, Senator Marco Rubio, the Republican from Florida, where many Venezuelan oligarchs live, openly called for a military coup in Venezuela. “The world would support the Armed Forces in #Venezuela if they decide to protect the people & restore democracy by removing a dictator,” the former presidential candidate tweeted.
How absurd — remove an elected president with a military coup to restore democracy? Does that pass the straight face test? This refrain of Rubio and Tillerson seems to be the nonsensical public position of U.S. policy.
The U.S. has been seeking regime change in Venezuela since Hugo Chavez was elected in 1998. Trump joined Presidents Obama and Bush before him in continuing efforts to change the government and put in place a U.S.-friendly oligarch government.
They came closest in 2002 when a military coup removed Chavez. The Commander-in-Chief of the Venezuelan military announced Chavez had resigned and Pedro Carmona, of the Venezuelan Chamber of Commerce, became interim president. Carmona dissolved the National Assembly and Supreme Court and declared the Constitution void. The people surrounded the presidential palace and seized television stations, Carmona resigned and fled to Colombia. Within 47 hours, civilians and the military restored Chavez to the presidency. The coup was a turning point that strengthened the Bolivarian Revolution, showed people could defeat a coup and exposed the US and oligarchs.
U.S. Regime Change Tactics Have Failed In Venezuela
The U.S. and oligarchs continue their efforts to reverse the Bolivarian Revolution. The United States has a long history of regime change around the world and has tried all of its regime change tools in Venezuela. So far they have failed.
Economic War
Destroying the Venezuelan economy has been an ongoing campaign by the US and oligarchs. It is reminiscent of the US coup in Chile which ended the presidency of Salvador Allende. To create the environment for the Chilean coup, President Nixon ordered the CIA to “make the economy scream.”
Henry Kissinger devised the coup noting a billion dollars of investment were at stake. He also feared the “the insidious model effect” of the example of Chile leading to other countries breaking from the United States and capitalism. Kissinger’s top deputy at the National Security Council, Viron Vaky, opposed the coup saying, “What we propose is patently a violation of our own principles and policy tenets .… If these principles have any meaning, we normally depart from them only to meet the gravest threat … our survival.”
These objections hold true regarding recent US coups, including in Venezuela and Honduras, Ukraine and Brazil, among others. Allende died in the coup and wrote his last words to the people of Chile, especially the workers, “Long live the people! Long live the workers!” He was replaced by Augusto Pinochet, a brutal and violent dictator.
For decades the US has been fighting an economic war, “making the economy scream,” in Venezuela.
Wealthy Venezuelans have been conducting economic sabotage aided by the US with sanctions and other tactics. This includes hoarding food, supplies and other necessities in warehouses or in Colombia while Venezuelan markets are bare. The scarcity is used to fuel protests, e.g. “The March of the Empty Pots,” a carbon copy of marches in Chile before the September 11, 1973 coup. Economic warfare has escalated through Obama and under Trump, with Tillerson now urging economic sanctions on oil.
President Maduro recognized the economic hardship but also said sanctions open up the opportunity for a new era of independence and “begins the stage of post-domination by the United States, with Venezuela again at the center of this struggle for dignity and liberation.” The second-in-command of the Socialist Party, Diosdado Cabello, said, “[if they] apply sanctions, we will apply elections.”
Opposition Protests
Another common US regime change tool is supporting opposition protests. The Trump administration renewed regime change operations in Venezuela and the anti-Maduro protests, which began under Obama, grew more violent. The opposition protests included barricades, snipers and murders as well as widespread injuries. When police arrested those using violence, the US claimed Venezuela opposed free speech and protests.
The opposition tried to use the crack down against violence to achieve the U.S. tactic of dividing the military. The U.S. and western media ignored opposition violence and blamed the Venezuelan government instead. Violence became so extreme it looked like the opposition was pushing Venezuela into a Syrian-type civil war. Instead, opposition violence backfired on them.
Violent protests are part of U.S. regime change repertoire. This was demonstrated in the U.S. coup in Ukraine, where the U.S. spent $5 billion to organize government opposition including U.S. and EU funding violent protesters. This tactic was used in early US coups like the 1953 Iran coup of Prime Minister Mossadegh. The U.S. has admitted organizing this coup that ended Iran’s brief experience with democracy. Like Venezuela, a key reason for the Iran coup was control of the nation’s oil.
Funding Opposition
There has been massive U.S. investment in creating opposition to the Venezuelan government. Tens of millions of dollars have been openly spent through USAID, the National Endowment for Democracy and other related US regime change agencies. It is unknown how much the CIA has spent from its secret budget, but the CIA has also been involved in Venezuela. Current CIA director, Mike Pompeo, said he is “hopeful there can be a transition in Venezuela.”
The United States has also educated leaders of opposition movements, e.g. Leopoldo López was educated at private schools in the US, including the CIA-associated Kenyon College. He was groomed at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government and made repeated visits to the regime change agency, the National Republican Institute.
Elections
While the US calls Venezuela a dictatorship, it is in fact a strong democracy with an excellent voting system. Election observers monitor every election.
In 2016, the economic crisis led to the opposition winning a majority in the National Assembly. One of their first acts was to pass an amnesty law. The law described 17 years of crimes including violent felonies and terrorism committed by the opposition. It was an admission of crimes back to the 2002 coup and through 2016. The law demonstrated violent treason against Venezuela. One month later, the Supreme Court of Venezuela ruled the amnesty law was unconstitutional. U.S. media, regime change advocates and anti-Venezuela human rights groups attacked the Supreme Court decision, showing their alliance with the admitted criminals.
Years of violent protests and regime change attempts, and then admitting their crimes in an amnesty bill, have caused those opposed to the Bolivarian Revolution to lose power and become unpopular. In three recent elections Maduro’s party won regional, local and the Constituent Assembly elections.
The electoral commission announced the presidential election will be held on April 22. Maduro will run for re-election with the United Socialist Party. Opposition leaders such as Henry Ramos and Henri Falcon have expressed interest in running, but the opposition has not decided whether to participate. Henrique Capriles, who narrowly lost to Maduro in the last election, was banned from running for office because of irregularities in his campaign, including taking foreign donations. Capriles has been a leader of the violent protests. When his ban was announced he called for protests to remove Maduro from office. Also banned was Leopoldo Lopez, another leader of the violent protests who is under house arrest serving a thirteen year sentence for inciting violence.
Now, the United States says it will not recognize the presidential election and urges a military coup. For two years, the opposition demanded presidential elections, but now it is unclear whether they will participate. They know they are unpopular and Maduro is likely to be re-elected.
Is War Against Venezuela Coming?
A military coup faces challenges in Venezuela as the people, including the military, are well educated about US imperialism. Tillerson openly urging a military coup makes it more difficult.
The government and opposition recently negotiated a peace settlement entitled “Democratic Coexistence Agreement for Venezuela.” They agreed on all of the issues including ending economic sanctions, scheduling elections and more. They agreed on the date of the next presidential election. It was originally planned for March, but in a concession to the opposition, it was rescheduled for the end of April. Maduro signed the agreement even though the opposition did not attend the signing ceremony. They backed out after Colombian President Santos, who was meeting with Secretary Tillerson, called and told them not to sign. Maduro will now make the agreement a public issue by allowing the people of Venezuela to sign it.
Not recognizing elections and urging a military coup are bad enough, but more disconcerting is that Admiral Kurt Tidd, head of Southcom, held a closed door meeting in Colombia after Tillerson’s visit. The topic was “regional destabilization” and Venezuela was a focus.
A military attack on Venezuela from its Colombian and Brazilian borders is not far fetched. In January, the NY Times asked, “Should the US military invade Venezuela?” President Trump said the US is considering US military force against Venezuela. His chief of staff, John Kelly, was formerly the general in charge of Southcom. Tidd has claimed the crisis, created in large part by the economic war against Venezuela, requires military action for humanitarian reasons.
War preparations are already underway in Colombia, which plays the role of Israel for the US in Latin America. The coup government in Brazil, increased its military budget 36 percent, and participated in Operation: America United, the largest joint military exercise in Latin American history. It was one of four military exercises by the US with Brazil, Colombia and Peru in Latin America in 2017. The US Congress ordered the Pentagon to develop military contingencies for Venezuela in the 2017 National Defense Authorization Act.
While there is opposition to US military bases, James Patrick Jordan explains, on our radio show, the US has military bases in Colombia and the Caribbean and military agreements with countries in the region; and therefore, Venezuela is already surrounded.
The United States is targeting Venezuela because the Bolivarian Revolution provides an example against U.S. imperialism. An invasion of Venezuela will become another war-quagmire that kills innocent Venezuelans, U.S. soldiers and others over control of oil. People in the United States who support the self-determination of countries should show solidarity with Venezuelans, expose the U.S. agenda and publicly denounce regime change. We need to educate people about what is really happening in Venezuela to overcome the false media coverage.

Mensen, werkelijk ongelofelijk maar waar: weer durft de VS met de vinger te wijzen naar de Syrische regering. nadat in door ‘rebellen’ beheerst gebied (door de VS beveiligd) nogmaals gifgas is vrijgekomen…… Het vrijgekomen gas bleek na onderzoek chlorine te zijn, je weet wel, waarvan eerder een voorraad werd geraakt in Khan Sheikhoun, maar die door ‘deskundigen’ en de reguliere westerse media nog steeds werd en wordt omschreven als een aanval met Sarin (een zenuwgas) door het Syrische leger……..

Dat laatste, ‘Sarin’ bleek al onmiddellijk niet waar te zijn, daar de hulpverleners niet waren gekleed tegen de gevolgen van het werken met Sarin slachtoffers…… Voorts hebben meerdere echte deskundigen al van meet af aan gezegd dat reguliere Syrische leger geen gifgas meer in het bezit had, zie de vergelijking in de aanloop naar de illegale oorlog van de VS tegen Irak in 2003……… Eerdere gifgasaanvallen van ‘Assad’ werden na onderzoek toegeschreven aan de zogenaamde gematigde rebellen (moordend en verkrachtend geteisem)……..

DE NOS plaatste op haar site (7 april 2017) een lulverhaal van Ko ‘de woestijnwachter’ Colijn, waarin deze enorme flapdrol zogenaamd aantoont dat inderdaad Syrische troepen Sarin gas tegen burgers hadden gebruikt in Khan Sheikhoun…. Eén van zijn belachelijke uitspraken op de NOS site, na de volgende opmerking van de NOS: ‘Maar volgens Colijn is het ‘vrij onwaarschijnlijk‘ dat rebellen over dit soort chemische wapens beschikken‘ >> komt ‘ie (houd je vast): “IS heeft wel restanten van zenuwgas in bezit, maar de kans is klein dat de terreurorganisatie die heeft ingezet“, zegt Colijn………. ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha!

Ten eerste was al minstens vijf keer eerder geconstateerd dat de zogenaamde ‘gematigde rebellen’ over gifgas beschikken (zo bleek o.a. uit wapenvondsten en grondig onderzoek, onderzoek dat overigens veelal door de VS en haar lakeien wordt afgewezen, als daarom wordt gevraagd, behalve als de onderzoekers ‘betrouwbare VS specialisten’ zijn natuurlijk*). Ten tweede de volgende open deur vraag: zijn IS, Al Qaida, of haar evenknie in Syrië al-Nusra padvindersorganisaties die zoveel mogelijk geweld tegen burgers vermijden of zo….???? Waar slaat ‘t op??!!! Waarom is de kans klein dat IS zenuwgas inzet, omdat ze het al eerder hebben gedaan??? Hier de link naar het artikel op de hevig partijdig gekleurde site van de NOS, wel met de volgende waarschuwing: weet je echt veel over de illegale door de VS gestichte oorlog tegen Syrië? Pas op dat je er niet in blijft, in een onbedaarlijke lachstuip >> wat een oplichter en idioot die Colijn!!

Overigens stond er een bijzonder vreemde kop boven dit NOS artikel: ‘Gifgas was aanleiding aanval, maar met welk bewijs?’ Dan moet je deze uiterst kromme ‘vraag’ nodig aan één van de grote lobbyisten van de VS, NAVO en het militair-industrieel complex voorleggen, je kan dan net zo goed zelf bepalen met welk antwoord kwezel Colijn komt (dat is namelijk uitermate voorspelbaar)……

En dan: ‘Gifgas was aanleiding aanval’, nogmaals waar slaat ‘t op?? De echte vraag had natuurlijk moeten zijn: ‘Waarom zou Assad gifgas gebruiken als hij aan de winnende hand is????’ Om de wereld nog verder tegen zich in het harnas te jagen? Wat een dom gelul, maar het allerbelangrijkst zijn de bewijzen dat het reguliere Syrische leger (en niet ‘Assad’) geen gifgas heeft en dus ook niet heeft gebruikt in de aanvallen die aan dit leger worden toegeschreven, sterker nog: niet één van die aanvallen is toe te schrijven aan het reguliere Syrische leger!! Niet voor niets is meermaals aangetoond dat deze zogenaamde gematigde rebellen in het bezit waren (en veelal nog zijn) van gifgas dat werd gebruikt in die aanvallen…..**

 Het is intussen al lang bekend dat Trump de aanval met kruisraketten na ‘de aanval met gifgas op Khan Sheikhoun, gelastte daar hij TV beelden zag, waarin de schuld werd toegeschreven aan het Syrische leger (in de uren na die aanval, dus zonder ook maar een nanometer aan bewijs…)…..

Ach, Ko Colijn: een over een keeshondendrol getilde fantast, oorlogshitser en lobbyist voor de NAVO en het militair-industrieel complex! Moet je nagaan: deze hufter is bijzonder hoogleraar…… ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Logisch dat Nederlandse universiteiten niet bij de eerste 40 beste universiteiten zijn te vinden!

Sico van der Meer, een ‘deskundige’ van Clingendael was gistermorgen op BNR te horen over deze laatste gifgasaanval (rond 9.40 u.). Deze mislukte zakkenwasser sprak over de ‘Doomsday Club’, blijkbaar een nieuwe aanduiding voor de ‘Axis of Evil’ (toch vreemd dat daarin nooit de grootste terreurentiteit op aarde wordt genoemd, oh dom van mij, deze uitdrukking komt NB uit de VS!).

Volgens van der Meer heeft Syrië zonder meer chemische wapens, ook al kan hij daar geen flinter bewijs voor leveren, ach je roept het honderd keer en de goegemeente gelooft je wel……… Van der Meer maakte nog een uiterst vermakelijke vergissing, volgens hem is Rusland en de VS doende kleine kernwapens te maken, zodat bijvoorbeeld niet heel Amsterdam wordt weggevaagd, waar alleen het centrum……. ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! De oorlogshitser heeft de klok horen luiden maar weet niet waar de klepel hangt!

Men is juist doende om kernwapens te maken die alleen bijvoorbeeld steden vernietigen maar niet de gebieden daarom heen……. Van der Meer een deskundige..?? ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha!

En zo wordt het Nederlandse volk dag in dag uit voorgelogen door een stelletje mafketels, die als ‘deskundigen’ worden aangeduid………

Ondertussen beschuldigen een groot aantal landen, onder druk van zijne inhumane kwaadaardigheid en idem oorlogshitser Rex Tillerson Syrië en dit keer m.n. Rusland aan als schuldige voor de laatste aanval met gifgas……… Tja je bent bezig met de voorbereiding van een oorlog tegen Rusland of niet natuurlijk…….

En gedwee blijft het westen achter de grootste terreurentiteit op aarde, de VS aanlopen en dit gestolen land steunen in de vreselijke terreur die het verspreid………

Two dozen countries agreed Tuesday to push for sanctions against perpetrators of chemical attacks in Syria, with US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson saying Russia “ultimately bears responsibility” for such strikes.
Twenty-four nations approved a new “partnership against impunity” for the use of chemical weapons, just a day after reports they were used in an attack that sickened 21 people in rebel-held Eastern Ghouta, which Tillerson said was suspected to involve chlorine.
“Whoever conducted the attacks, Russia ultimately bears responsibility for the victims in East Ghouta and countless other Syrians targeted with chemical weapons since Russia became involved in Syria,” Tillerson said after the international meeting in Paris, and ahead of further talks with ministers from several countries on ending the conflict.
“There is simply no denying that Russia, by shielding its Syrian ally, has breached its commitments to the US as a framework guarantor” overseeing the destruction of Syria’s chemical weapons stockpiles, as agreed in September 2013, he added.
Despite its pledge to destroy such weapons, the Syrian government has been repeatedly accused of staging chemical attacks, with the United Nations among those blaming it for an April 2017 sarin gas attack on the opposition-held village of Khan Sheikhun which left scores dead.
There have been at least 130 separate chemical weapons attacks in Syria since 2012, according to French estimates, with the Islamic State group also accused of using mustard gas in Syria and Iraq.

Bare minimum

Russia twice used its UN veto in November to block an extension of an international expert inquiry into chemical attacks in Syria, to the consternation of Western powers.
Russia’s UN ambassador Vassily Nebenzia Tuesday rejected Tillerson’s accusations and instead called for a “truly impartial” international investigation of the chemical attacks.
Moscow, backed by Iran and Turkey, has organised talks in the Russian city of Sochi next week aimed at finding a resolution to the brutal and multifaceted civil war.
Those efforts are running parallel to talks overseen by the UN, with the latest round due in Vienna on Thursday and Friday.
The talks have so far failed to make progress in ending a war that has left more than 340,000 people dead.
Tillerson said that “Russia’s failure to resolve the chemical weapons issue in Syria calls into question its relevance to the resolution of the overall crisis”.
“At a bare minimum, Russia must stop vetoing, or at the very least abstain, from future Security Council votes on this issue,” he said.
At Tuesday’s meeting, 24 out of 29 countries attending committed to sharing information and compiling a list of individuals implicated in the use of chemical weapons in Syria and beyond.
These could then be hit with sanctions such as asset freezes and entry bans as well as criminal proceedings at the national level.
Ahead of the meeting, France announced asset freezes against 25 Syrian companies and executives, as well as French, Lebanese and Chinese businesses accused of aiding government use of chemical weapons.
“The criminals who take the responsibility for using and developing these barbaric weapons must know that they will not go unpunished,” said French foreign minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, who chaired Tuesday’s meeting.
“The current situation cannot continue.”

‘Worst humanitarian crises’

Tillerson, Le Drian and Britain’s Boris Johnson afterwards held a closed-door meeting on Syria with the Saudi and Jordanian foreign ministers.
They discussed how best to “provide backing and some concrete reinforcement for UN efforts to advance the political process in Geneva, constitutional reform and the preparation for the holding of elections”, ahead of a series of meetings on Syria, a senior US State Department official said, warning that “it’s going to take time”.
Johnson later hosted his US, Saudi Arabian and UAE counterparts at the British Embassy to discuss the Yemen conflict in a whirlwind of Middle Eastern diplomacy.
“The conflicts in Syria and Yemen have created two of the worst humanitarian crises of our time,” Johnson said ahead of the meeting.
“There can be no military solution to either conflict, only peaceful and carefully negotiated political solutions will truly end the suffering.”
The Syrian war has grown even more complex in recent days with Turkey launching a new ground operation against Kurdish militia who it considers an offshoot of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).
Tillerson met with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu in Paris on Tuesday, though he did not hold a press conference to discuss their talks.

Last week Tillerson warned that the US would remain in Syria until the situation was stable enough to remove President Bashar al-Assad from office.

Iran, de protesten en wat de media je niet vertellen………

De protesten in Iran worden met grote graagte door de westerse media en politici uitgedragen als een welkome opstand tegen de fundamentalistische heersers, zonder rekening te houden met de huidige gematigde regering. Iran is fout punt uit!
Door deze eenzijdige reactie van het westen, krijgen juist de fundamentalistische heersers op de achtergrond de wind in de zeilen, immers het westen is allesbehalve een vriend van Iran of haar burgers. De roep om ingrijpen in Iran klinkt al jaren keihard, niet bepaald in de laatste plaats door de VS en het grootste deel van de NAVO leden. Daar deed de handreiking van Obama weinig aan af, een handreiking die intussen al weer is teruggedraaid door de Trump administratie……

De VS heeft trouwens al veel langer gewelddadige activisten in Iran gesteund, dit om de regering ten val te brengen (waarin ook Nederland een rol speelde) en reken maar dat de CIA zelf ook actief is in Iran……..
De huidige demonstranten zijn bepaald niet vreedzaam, zoals dit wel het geval was tijdens het grootste deel van de ‘Groene Revolutie’ in 2009, ze zijn gewapend en brengen grote vernielingen aan, zoals het in brand steken van gebouwen…… De aantallen demonstranten zijn een stuk minder groot dan men aanneemt in het westen. Politiebureaus en wapendepots zijn door demonstranten overvallen om zo aan meer wapens te komen….
Zoals gezegd: de kans is weer levensgroot dat een deel van de demonstranten in Iran is gekocht door de VS, die een reputatie hebben op het gebied van opstanden organiseren, opstanden die dan moeten uitlopen in het afzetten van een VS onwelgevallige regering……. Voorbeelden van het organiseren van dit soort opstanden door de VS (CIA), opstanden die in een coup moesten uitmonden en wat meestal lukt: Libië, Oekraïne, Syrië (in dit land mislukte de coup tegen Assad) en voor Zuid-Amerika Honduras, Brazilië en Venezuela (let wel: dit zijn de laatst bekende voorbeelden). In het volgende artikel kan u lezen dat Rex Tillerson, de VS minister van Buitenlandse Zaken, e.e.a. toegeeft wat betreft Iran, zo bleek uit een uitgelekt memorandum…..

 Ook in het volgende artikel (van Darius Shahtahmasebi) o.a. de stelling dat de conservatieve krachten in Iran baat hebben bij deze protesten om zo de gematigde president Rohani onder druk te zetten…… Dat de VS zelfs deze krachten zou steunen is niets nieuws, als de VS een regering ten val wil brengen, schijnt alles geoorloofd te zijn (zelfs samenwerking met terreurgroepen als IS en Al Qaida…)……

Everything the Media Isn’t Telling You About the Protests Rocking Iran Right Now

(ANTIMEDIA Op-ed) — Over the past week, Iran has been hit with series of protests, reportedly in relation to the country’s current economic climate. Where this particular narrative is headed is of major concern because of the current atmosphere in the Middle East and its deadly dynamics.
Approximately two weeks ago, the truth about U.S. foreign policy was revealed in a leaked memo that purportedly coached Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on how to use human rights as a pretense to attack America’s adversaries
“Allies should be treated differently — and better — than adversaries. Otherwise, we end up with more adversaries, and fewer allies,” stated the memo, which was written by Tillerson’s influential policy aide, Brian Hook. Approximately two weeks ago, the truth about U.S. foreign policy was revealed in a leaked memo that purportedly coached Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on how to use human rights as a pretense to attack America’s adversaries
As part of the U.S. foreign policy playbook, in June 2017, Tillerson himself confirmed that official U.S. policy towards Iran included a regime change strategy. He said:
“We continually review the merits both from the standpoint of diplomatic but also international consequences of designating the Iranian Revolutionary Guard in its entirety as a terrorist organization. As you know, we have designated the Quds [Force]. Our policy towards Iran is to push back on this hegemony, contain their ability to develop obviously nuclear weapons, and to work toward support of those elements inside of Iran that would lead to a peaceful transition of that government. Those elements are there, certainly as we know.” [emphasis added]
Around the same time, the Trump administration appointed Michael D’Andrea, the CIA’s “Dark Prince,” to head the CIA’s “Iran operations.” Given the CIA overthrew Iran’s democratically elected government in 1953, relying almost completely on one die-hard agent to do so, this program’s trajectory should be clear.
Barely days after D’Andrea’s appointment, Iran was coincidentally rocked by an ISIS-inspired attack. Republican congressman Rep. Dana Rohrabacher suggested the attack was “a good thing.”
In December, CIA director Mike Pompeo admitted he sent a letter to General Qassem Soleimani, a stalwart leader of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), saying he will hold Iran and Soleimani “accountable” for any attacks on Washington’s interests in Iraq. This is the same IRGC commander who announced Iran would begin supporting Palestinian forces in the Gaza strip after Trump’s infamous Jerusalem debacle.
Unsurprisingly, U.S. intelligence agencies reportedly just gave the green light to Israel to assassinate this commander, a clear act of war.

 The timing of the current protests has coincided with reports that the U.S. and Israel formulated a joint plan to specifically target Iran. This coincides with Nikki Haley’s grandiose anti-Iran performance, which has been full of deceit and hawkish propaganda. Further, Israel hopes these protests will be an opportunity to take the Iranian government’s attention away from Israel, according to a top intelligence expert.
Even without Iranians taking to the streets, it is clear that the Trump administration and its regional allies have been planning to take the fight to Iran.
Discerning the Truth About the Recent Protests
What should we make of the recent protests sweeping the country?
Even according to the mainstream media, the protests are not exactly what they seem. Iran’s president acknowledged that Iranians have a right to peaceful protest and that the protesters are not necessarily guided by foreign elements as “a number of them are the people who came to the streets because of their (economic) problems.”
“Criticism is different [from] violence and destroying public property,” he also reportedly said.
According to Haaretz, the protests were initially riled up by Iran’s conservative hard-line opposition to put pressure on the current Iranian president, who is considered a moderate. The protesters are not necessarily the democracy-seeking students the media has portrayed them as.
The mainstream media further acknowledged that the Iranian authorities are actively trying to avoid a massive crackdown. From Slate:
“It seems clear that Iranian leaders are trying to avoid a massive crackdown of the surprisingly large protests for now, worried that any huge repression could lead to a crisis similar to what took place in 2009.”
As Reuters explained:

“Iranian moderates are appealing for caution even though some hardliners are calling for an iron fist to crush one of the gravest threats to Iran’s clerical leaders, who came to power in the 1979 Islamic revolution.
“Those divisions are making it hard for the authorities to defuse spontaneous demonstration, especially as there are no apparent protest leaders who can be identified and rounded up.”
The media is still treating the videos of anti-government protesters shouting “Death to the dictator!” as “unconfirmed,” meaning they haven’t been properly verified. Or consider this recent Reuters report, which stated the following:
“Mohsen Nasj Hamadani, deputy security chief in Tehran province, said about 50 people had rallied in a square but most had left after being asked to by police, while a few who refused were ‘temporarily detained,’ the ILNA news agency reported.”
Carl Bildt, former Swedish prime minister and co-chair for the European Council on Foreign Relations quickly took to Twitter to state that there were “[r]eports of signals of international satellite TV networks jammed in large cities of Iran. Would be sign of regime fear of today’s protests spreading.” However, the only reports that can be found online of jammed international TV networks are from at least five years prior to the current unrest. Not surprisingly, Wikileaks cables suggested Bildt served as a U.S. government informant when he was just 27 years old.
In other words, it would pay to be overly meticulous when following the reports on this intricate topic.
To be clear, the protests are not nearly as concerned with Iran’s foreign policy as much as some media outlets are claiming they are. As the Atlantic explained:
“Unlike what President Trump suggests, the protests aren’t about Iran’s broader behaviour and foreign policy. And they’re not about the regime’s support for terrorism…their main concern lies in the price of day-to-day items and goods, such as poultry and eggs, as well as unemployment and access to services.”
The death toll in the protests and the authorities’ inevitable response quickly grew to at least 12 — a damning statistic for the Iranian government. However, whether the following allegations are true or not, the mainstream media has acknowledged that deaths occurred as a result of confrontation, specifically, the claim that armed protesters began storming military bases and police stations. Other government compounds were stormed, as well, with protesters lighting fires in government offices.
These are no longer students who are complaining about the price of eggs or the right to dress in modern clothing (in a remarkable coincidence, just before the protests erupted, Tehran’s police stated they would no longer arrest women for violating the Islamic dress code). Overrunning military bases and police stations with arms doesn’t make you a protester, it makes you a militant. As journalist Ben Norton wrote on his Facebook page, “If ‘armed protesters’ (quite a phrase) tried to overrun military bases and police stations in the US, it would declare martial law.”
Things may not be so dire in Iran to require an armed uprising just yet (just take a look at the thousands of pro-government supporters who have rallied the streets of Iran’s major cities). It would be disingenuous to pay sole attention to the anti-government protesters while ignoring the thousands of those who do support their government. This is not to say that Iranians do not have genuine cause to take to the streets and protest, but it certainly gives good cause to the international community that perhaps — just this once — it would do well to mind its own business.
Even according to some of the biggest corporate media outlets, there is likely foul play if people are taking arms against the Iranian government in the current circumstances. As the New York Magazine acknowledged:
“As The Guardian and New York Times point out, small protests focused on economic issues are normal in Iran, but politically charged protests across the country where people feel safe chanting ‘death to the dictator’ — a knock on Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei — are not. The protests will undoubtedly be an important test for the relatively moderate Rouhani, who has not been spared as a subject of chanting at the rallies; in his remarks on Sunday, Rouhani was clearly trying to walk a delicate line. There is also apparently suspicion among members of his administration and other reformers about what forces may be behind the unrest.” [emphasis added]
The West’s Hypocrisy is Staggering
Despite this, Donald Trump was quick to take to Twitter to condemn Iran and voice his support for the protesters. State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert also said in a statement that the U.S. urged “all nations to publicly support the Iranian people and their demands for basic rights and an end to corruption.”
This is the same administration that banned the Iranian people from merely visiting the United States.
Even Hillary Clinton voiced her support for the Iranian people currently protesting against the government. Apparently, Clinton has forgotten about the video of her where she broke into hysterical laughter while talking about the U.S.’ desire to launch a war against Iran, which would undoubtedly kill hundreds of thousands of ordinary Iranians.
We would also do well to remember that after Donald Trump was elected U.S. president at the end of 2016, America was inundated with anti-Trump protests. Los Angeles police arrested at least 462 people at the time. America’s NATO ally Turkey arrested, detained, suspended, and fired tens of thousands of teachers, lawyers, military officers, and court officials (with at least 249 deaths in total) – and yet Donald Trump has only appeared to praise the Turkish government’s crackdown.
America’s Middle Eastern darling, Israel, has also been rocked by thousands of protesters participating in anti-corruption marches specifically targeting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Israel also infamously locked up a young teenage girl who was brave enough to slap an Israeli soldier who had invaded her home.
For the sake of argument, let’s all agree that Iran’s protests are genuine. That fact alone isn’t grounds for an illegal regime change operation given the international standards the rest of the world has been operating under for years. Allowing Trump to take the protests for a ride to serve his own ludicrous foreign policy agenda also undermines the intellect and history of Iran and its people, as the Atlantic explains:
“Iranians aren’t ‘finally’ waking up and ‘getting wise,’ as Trump suggests. Instead, Iran has a dynamic and active civil society, which has created and embraced opportunities for reformation and progress for decades…And many Iranians have paid for these ideals with their lives.”
Don’t buy into the hypocrisy. Donald Trump does not care about ordinary Iranians, and he certainly doesn’t care about Iran’s access to democracy. If Donald Trump cared about the Iranian people’s economic concerns, the simple solution would be to stop unilaterally slamming the country with economic sanctions on a routine basis.
In the words of the Atlantic, Donald Trump “barely understands the country he’s repeatedly demonized.”
We’ve been here before. The groundwork is being laid for a direct confrontation with Iran, and we are naïve at best if we decide to take the bait. America’s footprint in the Middle East was never rooted in any concerns for human rights, and believe it or not, America’s interests and desires are always rooted in money.
The last thing Iran needs right now in order to move towards a more democratic and economically viable country is the direct interference of the United States, a country that has reportedly killed over one million Muslims since the 9/11 attacks.
If the Iranians want to exact change; they can and will do it themselves. As stated by the Tudeh Party of Iran, an Iranian communist party formed in 1941:
“It should be noted that under the critical conditions of the current dangerous regional tensions, the regional reaction – supported by the Trump administration in the US and the right-wing government of Netanyahu in Israel – is seeking to distinctly impact the developments in our country and to replace the current reactionary regime with another reactionary regime.

Rex Tillerson, de huidige minister van Buitenlandse Zaken in de VS, is dezelfde schoft die eerder topgraaier was van ExxonMobile, het bedrijf dat al in de 80er jaren wist dat klimaatverandering wordt veroorzaakt door de mens, terwijl hij dit tot op de dag van vandaag ‘gewoon’ blijft ontkennen…….

Deze Tillerson, die zonder meer kan worden aangemerkt als oorlogsmisdadiger en die mede verantwoordelijk is voor de klimaatverandering en de daarbij horende natuurrampen, had het gore lef te eisen dat Iraanse milities Irak moeten verlaten, terwijl nu juist deze milities samen met de Koerden succes hadden in de bestrijding van IS (ISIS). Tegelijkertijd bestreed de VS deze terreurgroep zogenaamd middels niet bestaande, of ver uit de buurt van IS gedane bombardementen (het is zelfs bekend geworden dat de VS een paar keer een stuk woestijn heeft gebombardeerd, onder het mom IS te hebben gebombardeerd, terwijl er in kilometers omtrek geen levende ziel te vinden was…)…… Sterker nog: er zijn bewijzen, dat de VS in Irak minstens 2 keer wapens heeft geleverd aan IS…….

Dezelfde VS die schijt had aan oproepen van de VN een paar afzonderlijke landen, te stoppen met bombarderen van o.a. West-Mosul, waarbij de VS een groot aantal burgers vermoordde….. (datzelfde gebeurde onlangs weer in Raqqa) Dit terwijl de VS, m.n. middels Tillerson en VS ambassadeur bij de VN, Haley, Rusland en Syrië continu veroordelen voor het begaan van oorlogsmisdaden, waarvoor overigens telkens weer geen flinter bewijs wordt geleverd……. Rusland en Syrië besloten een paar maanden voor de bevrijding van Aleppo (bevrijding van de enorme terreur o.a. begaan door de ‘gematigde IS rebellen’) te stoppen met bombarderen, juist om zoveel mogelijk burgerslachtoffers te voorkomen……..

US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on Sunday demanded that Iranian “militias” leave Iraq. He was speaking at a press conference in Riyadh, where the US diplomat is holding talks with top Gulf officials.

“Certainly Iranian militias that are in Iraq, now that the fighting against [the Islamic State group] is coming to a close, those militias need to go home,” Tillerson said.
“All foreign fighters need to go home.”
There are thought to be as many as 120,000 fighters belong to the Popular Mobilisation Units (PMUs), volunteer fighting groups comprised of previously existing organisations and groups formed after a call by religious leader Ali al-Sistani in 2014 to protect Iraq from IS.
Although the groups are largely paid by the government in Baghdad, the most-established groups are ultimately loyal to Iran and have engaged in sectarian reprisals against Sunnis.
Tillerson’s Gulf visit comes as part of concerted efforts to curb Iran’s influence in the region including boosting the clout of Sunni-ruled Saudi Arabia in Iraq, where Iran backs Shia militias fighting in the north.
As well as talks with senior Saudi officials in Riyadh including King Salman, Tillerson attended a landmark meeting between Saudi Arabia and Iraq aimed at upgrading strategic ties between the Arab neighbours.
The meeting appears aimed at boosting Sunni-ruled Saudi Arabia’s clout in Shia-majority Iraq, part of a wider regional battle for influence that extends from Syria to Yemen.
Tillerson’s visit comes after President Donald Trump refused to certify the Iran nuclear deal, leaving its fate to the US Congress, and laid out an aggressive new strategy against Tehran in a bellicose speech.
“This event highlights the strength and breadth as well as the great potential of the relations between your countries,” Tillerson said at the first meeting of the joint Saudi-Iraqi coordination council in Riyadh.
Following years of tensions with Riyadh, Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi hailed the meeting as an “important step toward enhancing relations,” while King Salman warned of the dangers of “extremism, terrorism, as well as attempts to destabilise our countries”.
The question of Iranian influence has also been at the heart of the diplomatic conflict between Saudi Arabia and Qatar, and Tillerson headed to Doha later on Sunday for talks on defusing the crisis between two key US allies.
Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt cut ties with Qatar and imposed an embargo in June, accusing it of supporting terrorism and cosying up to Iran.
Doha denies the charges and has rejected their terms for a settlement.

Tillerson made an unsuccessful attempt to resolve the dispute during a trip to the region in July.

Mensen ik wist niet wat ik hoorde, toen de nieuwslezer van BBC World Service afgelopen zaterdag oplepelde dat Putin akkoord is gegaan met een staakt het vuren in het Zuidwesten van Syrië.

De VS heeft helemaal niets te zoeken in Syrië, het bevindt zich zelfs illegaal op Syrische bodem!! Intussen is meer dan eens aangetoond, dat de VS Al Qaida in Syrië steunt en als je AL Qaida zegt in Syrië, bedoel je alle terreurgroepen (ja ook die ‘gematigde rebellen), ze zijn allemaal verbonden met Al Qaida!! Er ontbreekt er een en u raadt het al, dat is…… IS!! Voor al die terreurgroepen doet VS bondgenoot Saoedi-Arabië de financiën en eventuele wapenleveringen, die het nu met schepen tegelijk binnenkrijgt uit de VS en Groot-Brittannië…….

Hoe kan je overleggen met een land dat jouw bondgenoot keer op keer dwarszit als het bezig is met de bestrijding van IS of een andere barbaarse terreurgroep…….. Ja, ook in geval van gevechten met IS…….. Zoals Israël dat nu ook al een aantal keer heeft gedaan op verzoek van IS en Al Qaida……..

Het is toch godverdomme de taak van een democratisch gekozen regering, zoals in het geval van Syrië, de straten vrij te maken van moorddadig geteisem!! En precies dat is meteen de makke met de VS, immers als het over de VS gaat, spreek je wel over verreweg de grootste terreurentiteit op aarde, die ongekende terreur uitoefent waar haar troepen illegaal strijden!!

Ongelofelijk dat Putin instemde met dit akkoord en daarmee in feite de VS agressie legitimeert?

De inhumane schoft Tillerson, ex-topgraaier van ExxonMobil, waarvoor hij nu als VS minister van BuZA toplobbyist is, greep het akkoord tussen Trump en Putin aan, om te stellen, dat er een pijpleiding voor aardgas zal worden aangelegd vanuit Saoedi-Arabië naar Europa (‘EU Europa’ wel te verstaan). Dit zal zorgen voor energiezekerheid in de EU (al noemde hij weer Europa)…….. ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Energiezekerheid uit een gebied dat voor een groot deel in de fik staat, dankzij ‘het land’ van Tillerson, (nogmaals) de grootste terreurentiteit op aarde, de VS!!

Deze pijpleiding was één van de hoofdredenen voor de opstand die de VS organiseerde in Syrië, een opstand die in een coup moest eindigen……. De voorbereidingen daarvoor dateren alweer uit 2006! Die opstand en coup moesten de weg vrijmaken voor de hiervoor genoemde pijpleiding, daar Assad tegen was………

Met de door Trump en Putin afgesproken wapenstilstand, is in Syrië een gebied vrijgekomen, waarover de pijpleiding kan worden aangelegd……. Met andere woorden: Putin is dubbel genaaid door Trump!

Hoe is het mogelijk dat iemand de VS nog serieus neemt, terwijl er in feite een topman van de olie- en gasmaffia is benoemd tot minister van Buitenlandse Zaken……..

Dit laatste bericht, dus over Tillersons aankondiging, was vannacht om 1.00 u. te horen in de nieuwsuitzending op BBC World Service radio.

De VS minister van Buitenlandse Zaken, Rex Tillerson, heeft toegegeven dat de VS uit is op ‘regime change’ in Iran (ofwel een staatsgreep). Dat het Iraanse volk onlangs nog heeft gekozen voor meer vrijheid en uiteindelijk een echte democratie zal de VS aan de reet roesten, men wil simpelweg een Iraanse regering die onderhorig is aan de VS en daarmee aan Saoedi-Arabië en Israël. De enige mogelijkheid daartoe is het installeren van een dictatoriaal regime, een specialiteit van de VS, dat altijd stelt democratie te willen brengen……….. Overigens voerde de VS (CIA) in 1953 al een staatsgreep uit tegen de democratisch gekozen Iraanse regering van Mossadegh

Tussen de regels door gaf Tillerson toe, dat de CIA al werkzaam is in Iran, toen hij stelde: “Our policy towards Iran is to push back on this hegemony, contain their ability to develop obviously nuclear weapons, and to work toward support of those elements inside of Iran that would lead to a peaceful transition of that government. Those elements are there, certainly as we know.”

In dit zelfde citaat staat te lezen dat Tillerson ondanks alle bewijzen van het tegendeel, stelt dat Iran bezig is een atoomwapen te ontwikkelen……… Een uitspraak die duidelijk een opmaat is naar militair ingrijpen, niet voor niets is de VS bijna continu bezig de Iraanse marine uit te dagen, met manoeuvres voor de Iraanse kust….. Daarnaast is er Israël dat keer op keer stelt, dat Iran een gevaar is voor de regio en dat het land moet worden aangevallen…… Netanyahu, de premier van de fascistische apartheidsstaat Israël, heeft meermaals laten weten, dat Israël zich het recht voorbehoudt Iran aan te vallen.

Onder Obama werd Israël nog enigszins onder controle gehouden, met het beest Trump aan de macht in de VS is de vrees dan ook, dat Israël daadwerkelijk Iran zal aanvallen. Als dit gebeurt zal de VS deze immense terreurdaad verdedigen, als het al niet zal deelnemen aan die Israëlische aanval.

Stuitend dat Tillerson keihard durft te zeggen, dat Iran een destabiliserende factor is in het Midden-Oosten……. Als er één destabiliserende factor is in het Midden-Oosten, is het wel de grootste terreurentiteit op aarde: de VS…… Met haar illegale oorlogen (de ultieme vorm van terreur) tegen Afghanistan, Irak (met intussen meer dan 1,5 miljoen vermoordde Irakezen), Libië (dat wordt door de VS tot het Midden-Oosten gerekend) en nu weer Syrië, heeft de VS het Midden-Oosten in totale chaos gestort. Daarbij moet niet vergeten worden dat de VS verantwoordelijk is voor het ontstaan van IS (dat het zelfs jarenlang heeft gesteund en bovendien van wapens en voertuigen heeft voorzien, al dan niet via een andere grote terreurentiteit in het Midden-Oosten: Saoedi-Arabië…)…..

De VS heeft intussen zelfs toegegeven het chemisch wapen witte fosfor te hebben gebruikt in de strijd om Raqqa…….. Ofwel: hoeveel bewijs heb je nog nodig, om in te zien , dat de VS grootschalige terreur uitoefent

Afgelopen week spraken veel politici in de VS over de aanslagen in Iran, als was het een zegen. De republikeinse vertegenwoordiger voor Californië, Dana Rohrabacher stelde zelfs dat de VS terreuraanslagen tegen Iran moet steunen, waarbij ze zelfs steun wil geven aan IS, als die Iran nog eens aanvalt……. Voor Syrië heeft de VS Al Qaida van de terreurlijst gehaald, waarbij de VS represailles neemt, als het reguliere Syrische leger deze of andere terreurorganisaties (‘gematigde rebellen’) NB op eigen bodem aanvalt…….. (waar de VS volkomen illegaal op Syrische bodem strijd voert…….)

Eén ding is nu wel duidelijk: Iran staat als volgende op de lijst om te worden teruggebombardeerd in de tijd en in chaos te worden gestort door (ingrijpen van) de VS met hulp van Israël, Saoedi-Arabië en een paar van de Golfstaten……

Sec. of State Tillerson Admits US Policy of Regime Change for Iran

(ANTIMEDIA) — In case there was any doubt, U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has just confirmed that official U.S. policy towards Iran includes regime change, Think Progress reports.
During a Wednesday hearing before the House Foreign Affairs Committee regarding the 2018 State Department budget, Tillerson was asked whether or not the U.S. supports regime change in Iran. He replied affirmatively, stating that U.S. policy is driven by relying on “elements inside of Iran” to bring about a “peaceful transition of that government.”
Rep. Ted Poe (R-TX) also asked Tillerson if the government would sanction the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) – a powerful entity inside Iran.
“They are doing bad things throughout the world, on behalf of terrorism and destroying human rights of many people,” Poe said, referring to the IRGC.
“I’d like to know what the policy is of the U.S. toward Iran. Do we support the current regime? Do we support a philosophy of regime change, peaceful regime change? There are Iranians in exile all over the world. Some are here. And then there’s Iranians in Iran who don’t support the totalitarian state. So is the U.S. position to leave things as they are or set up a peaceful long-term regime change?”
“Well our Iranian policy is under development,” Tillerson replied.
“It’s not yet been delivered to the president, but I would tell you that we certainly recognize Iran’s continued destabilizing presence in the region, their payment of foreign fighters, their export of militia forces in Syria, in Iraq, in Yemen, their support for Hezbollah. And we are taking action to respond to Iran’s hegemony. Additional sanctions actions have been put in place against individuals and others.”
Tillerson also added:
“We continually review the merits both from the standpoint of diplomatic but also international consequences of designating the Iranian Revolutionary Guard in its entirety as a terrorist organization. As you know, we have designated the Quds [Force]. Our policy towards Iran is to push back on this hegemony, contain their ability to develop obviously nuclear weapons, and to work toward support of those elements inside of Iran that would lead to a peaceful transition of that government. Those elements are there, certainly as we know.”
Tillerson’s reference to Iran’s ability to develop nuclear weapons above directly contradicts a letter he sent to Speaker of the House Paul Ryan in April of this year. The New York Times explained:
“The letter certified that Iran was complying with the agreement, negotiated by five world powers in addition to the United States and Iran. The International Atomic Energy Agency, which monitors the agreement with on-site inspectors and advanced technology, reached the same conclusion in its most recent report.” [emphasis added]
This comes just over a week after Iran suffered an ISIS-inspired terror attack of its own, after which American lawmakers immediately proposed sanctions against the Islamic Republic, further demonstrating that the U.S. seeks to undermine Iran as much as possible. The sanctions were approved by the Senate on Thursday. Further, Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-Calif.) appeared to praise the ISIS attack on Iran, even suggesting the U.S. should support terrorists who commit attacks against the Iranian state.
Unsurprisingly, Iran was quick to respond to Tillerson’s aggressive statements. On Thursday, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qassemi called Tillerson’s comments “interventionist, in gross violation of the compelling rules of international law, unacceptable and strongly condemned.”
“Since the 1950s, the United States tried to meddle in Iranian affairs by different strategies such as coup d’état, regime change, and military intervention,” Qassemi also stated.
These efforts have all failed, Qassemi said, adding that the new U.S. government is “confused” and could be “easily manipulated by wrong information.”
As Anti-Media has previously explained, Iran is one of the most heavily engaged entities fighting ISIS (and has been extremely effective in doing so). Even if Iran were supporting Houthi rebels in Yemen (the hard evidence for this claim to date has been woefully lacking), the Houthis are the sworn enemy of al-Qaeda and ISIS – two terror groups the U.S. is currently fighting.
This is not to whitewash Iran for its backing of militias on the ground who have committed atrocities — or Iran’s often heavy-handed treatment of its own people. However, the U.N. just claimed that U.S.-led airstrikes have killed over 300 civilians after barely a week of fighting in Syria (U.S.-backed forces have also admitted using white phosphorous on these civilian populations). Further, the U.S. also maintains close ties with other radical nations that have exported mass violence and suffering on an exponential level.
Clearly, the U.S.’ infatuation with Iran has nothing to do with human rights concerns, and apparently, it must be reiterated that regime change without any official direction from the U.N. is completely illegal.
Iran just elected a reformist for the second time (with a higher voter turnout than the U.S. elections in 2016). This reformist, Hassan Rouhani, is more than capable of cutting deals with the U.S and its allies.
According to Tillerson himself, as explained above, the 2015 nuclear deal with Iran is clearly working effectively, further reducing any concerns regarding Iran’s capacity to pose a nuclear threat to anyone.
Why seek to topple a government elected by its own people? For “democracy” and “freedom?” Or because Iran sells its oil in Yuan, a direct attack on America’s control over the financial markets?
The U.S. has previously interfered in Iran’s political structure. In 1953, the CIA overthrew Iran’s democratically elected leader, Mohammed Mossadegh, and replaced him with a brutal dictator, Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. As explained by the Guardian, this interference clearly had little to do with democracy-building or human rights — and everything to do with oil:
“Britain, and in particular Sir Anthony Eden, the foreign secretary, regarded Mosaddeq as a serious threat to its strategic and economic interests after the Iranian leader nationalised the British Anglo-Iranian Oil Company, latterly known as BP. But the UK needed US support. The Eisenhower administration in Washington was easily persuaded.”
As far as we know, only one country has purposely used nuclear weapons against civilian populations and has continually used its stockpile of deadly weapons to topple a number of governments across the globe without facing legal ramifications.
That country is not Iran. As explained by intellectual Noam Chomsky:
“Why is Iran regarded here as the greatest threat to world peace? … They [the intelligence community] say Iran has very low military spending, even by the standards of the region, much lower than Saudi Arabia, Israel, [and] others. Its strategy is defensive. They want to deter attacks long enough for diplomacy to be entertained. The conclusion, intelligence conclusion—this is a couple years ago—is: If they are developing nuclear weapons, which we don’t know, but if they are, it would be part of their deterrent strategy.”
