Caitlin Johnstone heeft een artikel geschreven waarin ze volkomen terecht stelt dat corrupte macht niet in de openbaarheid kan leven, dat hebben Assange, andere klokkenluiders en Wikileaks uit en te na bewezen, sterker nog Assange en andere klokkenluiders worden zelfs vervolgt door overheden als men corruptie en oorlogsmisdaden aan het licht brengt en waar alle recht toe is……..
Corruptie, oorlogsmisdaden en andere misdaden van overheidswege zijn alleen mogelijk en blijven dat door de voorbereiding daarop: het hersenspoelen op school, door de media en politici die het volk doen geloven dat overheidsinstanties volkomen te vertrouwen zijn…… Caitlin stelt dan ook dat het beter is om deze fundering aan te vallen dan elke nieuwe uitwas die aan het licht komt. Ik ben het niet met haar eens, althans wat betreft elke nieuwe uitwas, die uiteraard zoveel mogelijk in de openbaarheid moet worden aangevallen als leugen, bedrog en/of misdaad, immers daarmee kan je juist aantonen dat de fundering, dus de kromme redenering dat overheidsinstanties zijn te vertrouwen, door en door rot is, neem alleen al het kinderopvangtoeslagschandaal……. Nu blijkt dat meerdere toeslagen met een zelfde soort schandaal te maken hebben, waarmee aangetoond wordt dat je overheidsinstanties juist met de grootste argwaan moet bekijken!! (en dat toeslagschandaal is nog maar 1 voorbeeld, moet je nagaan!!)
Een ander heel groot voorbeeld is de Coronacrisis: met leugens en onzin maatregelen maakt men het volk bang en voert men regels door die zonder meer een schending zijn van mensenrechten…… Neem het dragen van mondmaskers, eerst door de regering en het RIVM afgewezen als onzin, daarna werd er geadviseerd om ion besloten openbare gelegenheden als supermarkten deze ondingen te dragen, daarna werd het een dringend advies en nu er voldoende van die ondingen zijn is het verplicht….. (terwijl VVD premier Rutte op de verkiezingsavond van 17 maart jl., in een ruimte werd gezien met meerdere mensen die geen mondmasker droegen…..) Ook de avondklok is je reinste kul: ondanks dat de cijfers bleven oplopen hield men deze smerige vrijheidsbeperking in stand gehouden…..
Ook het vaccineren is eenzelfde uitwas: mensen die niet wensen te worden gevaccineerd, waaronder een groot aantal verpleegkundigen en artsen, worden gedemoniseerd door de politiek en de reguliere media als zouden het onverantwoorde egoïsten zijn, terwijl men vaccineert met veel te snel goedgekeurde vaccins, waarvan men onmogelijk de gevolgen op langere termijn kan weten….. Ja zelfs op mRNA// basis geproduceerde experimentele vaccins worden als volkomen veilig weggezet, terwijl de farmaceuten bij regeringen waar hun vaccin wordt verspreid (of die nu wel of niet op mRNA// basis zijn gemaakt) hebben bedongen dat ze niet aansprakelijk mogen worden gesteld voor ernstige bijwerkingen, ook op de lange duur…. Zou jij een auto kopen als de fabrikant stelt dat hij niet kan uitsluiten dat je er door mankementen een zwaar ongeluk mee op zou kunnen lopen?? Ik niet!
Neem ook de smerige verklaring die men geeft voor het grote aantal ouderen dat al is overleden na een Coronavaccinatie: deze mensen zijn overlden aan onderliggende klachten….. Terwijl praktisch elke oudere, zeker van boven de 75 jaar, onderliggende chronische klachten heeft….. Anders gezegd als je met zo’n belachelijk argument komt, zou je onmiddellijk moeten stoppen met het vaccineren van ouderen met onderliggende klachten, echter dat doet men niet, nee men vertelt deze ouderen in de media en poltiek dat de vaccins volkomen veilig zijn……
Niet voor niets ook dat de media en politiek schreeuwen dat er censuur moet worden uitgeoefend op de sociale media, daar m.n. op die media de overheidsinstanties worden aangevallen op bedrog en andere smerige zaken, waarbij men de reguliere media niet ontziet en aan de paal nagelt als lobbyisten van de huidige westerse neoliberale politiek…. Opvallend ook dat juist kritiek op het Coronabeleid en vaccinaties meer en meer worden gecensureerd op de sociale media……

Most of the legwork for rolling out a new imperial propaganda narrative is actually done long before the rollout itself. The bulk of the work was done in preceding decades: training civilians throughout their lives to trust the institutions that will be launching said narrative. Rather than fighting every single propaganda narrative that crosses your screen, your energy is therefore better spent attacking the foundation of trust upon which all propaganda narratives are built. Showing everyone how untrustworthy these institutions are at their very root.

A standard American libertarian who consistently opposes war and militarism is a better person than any western self-styled “leftist” who does not. We’re talking about mass murder here. It doesn’t matter how good your other positions are if you’re fine with mass murder for power.
War is the worst thing in the world. It’s the most insane, most evil, most destructive, least sustainable thing humans do. Ending it is therefore the most urgent matter. Someone who consistently supports ending war, militarism and imperialism is better than someone who doesn’t.

Biden changing virtually nothing after all that shrieking about Trump seems surprising until you remember that Trump also changed virtually nothing during all that shrieking about Trump. If you take all the behavior of the entire US empire into account, the changes in that empire’s behavior from presidential administration to presidential administration are differences of a fraction of a percentage point.

It would be better if interrogating the powerful was a rotating civic duty like jury service rather than something done by career journalists with a vested interest in maintaining good relationships with the powerful. The obsequious questions at press conferences make this clear.

A big part of Russiagate’s success was that it was a conspiracy theory marketed to people who had no experience with conspiracy theories, so when dots were connected for them by Rachel Maddow et al. they assume there must really be a connection. One with more experience in such things would know that conspiracy theories often fall through, that good conspiracy theory is as rare as good journalism, that those dots often don’t really connect, that things aren’t always as they seem and sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.
So we wound up with all these liberal intelligentsia types going “Well that Russian talked to that Trumpy guy so there’s definitely a connection” and weaving this whole tapestry in their minds, when someone who’d been on conspiracy forums a few years would know to just relax and watch.

“Mental illness doesn’t discriminate.”
Yes it does. It discriminates by income. The less you have, the more likely you will suffer from depression, anxiety, substance abuse and other contributing factors to mental illness. To promote mental health, promote economic justice.

We can’t stop killing our ecosystem because it’s some people’s job to kill the ecosystem. That’s bananas.

We’re so disconnected from ourselves, from the land, from our roots, from a real sense of depth, that we allow Hollywood and Washington to manufacture it for us. We let them tell us where the meaning is. What’s worth living for. What’s worth dying for. And it always serves power.
It’s so hard to find meaning in a civilization that is saturated with power-serving bullshit from root to flower. Where so much of our “culture” is just fake plastic nonsense arranged to advantage the unacknowledged rulers of an unacknowledged empire. Where screens reach out pummel your consciousness with propaganda for capitalism and imperialism all day long.
But there are deep rivers within us. We can know them.
