10 jaar geleden werden de Irak oorlogs-logboeken van de VS vrijgegeven, voor de oorlogsmisdaden daarin vermeld moeten niet de daders Bush en Blair boeten, maar journalist Julian Assange

Vorige week zaterdag was het precies 10 jaar geleden dat Wikileaks de door
Chelsea Manning gelekte documenten publiceerde over de illegale oorlog van de VS
tegen Irak. Op die dag kon de wereld zien hoe smerig en
groot de VS terreur was (en deels nog is) die op het volk van Irak werd
uitgeoefend…….. Een oorlog die in 2003 begon en in feite nog
steeds gaande is, vandaar ook dat er niet 1 miljoen mensen zijn
omgekomen door die terreur (zoals in het artikel hieronder wordt gesteld), maar eerder 2 miljoen Irakezen het leven
hebben gelaten……. Ofwel die mensen zijn vermoord door
de 2 grootste verantwoordelijken destijds: VS president George W. Bush en de Briste premier Tony Blair en dat met hulp van een
aantal andere NAVO-lidstaten, waaronder Nederland…..

Oorlogsmisdaden,
misdaden tegen de menselijkheid en grove mensenrechtenschendingen
begaan in Irak staan sinds die tijd tot ieders beschikking. Totaal onbegrijpelijk dan ook dat de reguliere westerse (massa-) media niet
de 2 grootste verantwoordelijke terroristen in deze, George W. Bush
en Tony Blair aan de spreekwoordelijke paal hebben genageld, maar
klokkenluider Chelsea Manning en de boodschapper:
onderzoeksjournalist Julian Assange…… Alsof die 2
verantwoordelijk zijn voor dat enorme aantal doden en niet de 2
eerder genoemde bloedige rotschoften……

De
reguliere westerse media hebben in deze de VS gevolgd, waar men
keihard loog dat Assange en Manning mensen in gevaar hebben gebracht
met hun openbaringen, terwijl diezelfde VS een enorm dossier aan
leugens heeft opgebouwd, zoals de leugen dat Irak
massavernietigingswapens zou hebben en daar de VS en Groot-Brittannië
mee zou willen aanvallen (als je dat weer in ogenschouw neemt snap je
zelfs niet dat er ook maar één persoon met een goed stel werkende
hersenen deze baarlijke en meer dan belachelijke nonsens heeft
geloofd…)…. Ook deze leugen werd door de westerse media uit en te
na verdedigd, zelfs de NRC bij monde van de ‘beste journalist van de
20ste eeuw’, Henk Hofland droeg deze leugen ‘met passie’ uit……
Ondanks dat iedereen al jaren weet dat e.e.a een enorme leugen is, heeft geen
mediaorgaan een rectificatie geplaatst voor de enorme diarree aan
leugens die men voorafgaand aan en tijdens die oorlog heeft gebracht (en nog brengt),
integendeel deze leugen wordt verzwegen en men doet in die media nog steeds of die oorlog
gerechtvaardigd en onvermijdelijk was….. (de Nederlandse verantwoordelijke CDA oorlogsmisdadiger de Hoop Scheffer mag zelfs les geven aan een universiteit….)

Met
de openbaringen in Wikileaks is zelfs niet 1 persoon in gevaar
gebracht en toch worden Manning en Assange gedemoniseerd in die
westerse media, waar men Assange zelfs durft uit te maken voor
charlatan……. Als er 1 journalist is die de afgelopen 10 jaar de
ene na de andere persprijs zou hebben moeten ontvangen is het Assange
wel!!

Voor
het Internationaal Strafhof (ICC) worden vooral figuren uit Afrika
veroordeeld, terwijl de grootste terreurstaten die de vreselijkste
misdaden hebben begaan, de VS en haar trouwe oorlogshond in de vorm
van NAVO-lidstaten met rust worden gelaten, terwijl die landen deze
eeuw al 2,5 miljoen mensen over de kling hebben gejaagd…… (al zou
het ICC nu wel bezig zijn met onderzoek naar oorlogsmisdaden door de
VS begaan in Afghanistan)

Lees
het relaas van Tommy Sheridan, waarin hij o.a. over de vader van
Julian Assange spreekt die onvermoeid de wereld rondreist om de
waarheid over zijn zoon te vertellen. De westerse media moeten zich
doodschamen dat ze een zo voortreffelijke collega hebben
gedemoniseerd en dat alweer op basis van leugens…… Terecht merkt
Sheridan dan ook op, dat er geen onafhankelijke media zijn, ze zijn
in handen van plutocraten die geen belang hebben bij de waarheid als
het om mensenrechten, misdaden tegen de menselijkheid en
oorlogsmisdaden gaat……. (behalve als deze worden begaan door
staten die men niet mag, waar ook daarover in de dagelijkse
‘werkelijkheid’ keihard wordt gelogen zie de berichtgeving over Iran,
Rusland en China…..) Wat betreft politici die deze westerse terreur
steunden en steunen: deze zouden ook vervolgd moeten worden door het ICC, immers
zij zijn mede verantwoordelijk voor de enorme ellende die het westen
elders heeft aangericht en aanricht……… Echter je snapt het al: dat zal niet gebeuren, zelfs niet als pinksteren, pasen en de kerst op één dag vallen!!

Clearing House”
– Ten years ago today the courage of two individuals changed the way
millions view the world. A US soldier disgusted at the communications
they were reading about their country’s conduct after illegally
invading and occupying the sovereign nation of Iraq in 2003 leaked
thousands of communications confirming US war crimes to Wikileaks.

The
site had been set up in 2006 to precisely shine a light on the dark
manoeuvres of powerful nations. Chelsea Manning risked imprisonment
by exposing war crimes. Julian Assange risked imprisonment by
publishing those leaked files and exposing the lies and heinous
crimes against humanity committed by the United States government and
military.

Yesterday I had the
honour and privilege of interviewing
the father of Julian Assange in Edinburgh for Sputnik radio on
the eve of this tenth anniversary of the release of the Iraq war
logs. John Shipton was articulate and passionate in defence of his
son who has been in enforced incarceration within the Ecuadorian
embassy for seven years and is now locked up in the maximum-security
prison HMP Belmarsh while awaiting the outcome of a rigged
extradition show trial that was conducted in London’s High Court
over five weeks last month.

John sat through that
travesty of justice and witnessed his son’s incredible stoicism and
bravery as a cacophony of manufactured lies was presented as the US
State case to justify forcibly transferring Julian to America to face
charges under the never used 103-year-old law called the Espionage
Act. Given the Niagara Falls of lies and distortions about Julian
Assange promoted and promulgated by the US, UK, Australian and
Swedish governments over the last decade a fair trial in America is
impossible. Julian Assange would inevitably be found guilty in a
biased US courtroom and sentenced to 175 years in a dangerous
high-security prison where his personal safety would never be
guaranteed.

Julian
Assange Exposed Government Crimes Not Government Secrets

The Espionage Act was
introduced in 1917 to deter traitors from revealing government
secrets which endangered the security of America. Julian Assange is
not guilty of exposing US government secrets, he is ‘guilty’ of
exposing US government war crimes. He and Chelsea Manning do not
deserve prison sentences, they deserve awards for performing
essential humanitarian and journalistic duties. They revealed to the
world the brutal truth of US Military behaviour in Iraq, in
Afghanistan and in other sovereign nations targeted for regime
change. The nation which parades across the world with pious lectures
about human rights, the rule of law, and the importance of democracy
is graphically exposed as the biggest abuser of human rights, the
enemy of democracy and serial sponsor of war crimes. Many peoples
suffered from US war crimes and human rights abuses, but the US
denied guilt. Wikileaks exposed both their lies – and their crimes.

After years of denying
civilian casualties in Iraq, the Wikileaks Iraq war logs ten years
ago covering the period 2005-2009 and running into almost 400,000
army field reports revealed the atrocious truth that civilian deaths
constituted more than two-thirds of all recorded casualties in Iraq.
Many thousands of deaths were deliberately not recorded but of those
that were 66,081 of 109,000 deaths were civilians. The Iraq Body
Count Project (IBC) used the published war logs to credibly estimate
civilian deaths as a minimum
of 183,249 to 205,785 while other population and family
interview-based studies estimate the civilian death toll is well over
one million.

People Owe Big to Julian Assange for Exposing US War Crimes, Scholar
Says

Up to one million
unarmed, innocent civilians murdered on the back of a concocted lie
about Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMDs) and Iraq’s readiness to
use them. There was no threat from Iraq’s WMDs as she had none and
there was no link to the terrible 9/11 attacks in America in 2001 as
Iraq had not a single Taliban or al Qaeda operative within its
territory. Iraq was illegally invaded, destroyed and over a million
people were slaughtered on the basis of lies and deceit and the
October 22nd, 2010 Wikileaks document publication revealed the US as
the biggest war criminal on the planet.

Wikileaks
Exposures Reveal US Working With Terrorists Not Against Them

The US and the world
were still reeling from the Wikileaks publication of the Afghanistan
war logs on 25th July 2010 which revealed American complicity in
arbitrary civilian assassinations, systematic torture of
non-combatants and extreme lies to cover up their crimes in
Afghanistan. Wikileaks has continued its crusade to uncover powerful
states and companies who lie and deceive and commit crimes in pursuit
of their objectives in breath-taking displays of hypocrisy. The Syria
leaks illustrate the extent the US and its allies will go to in
pursuit of global domination with clear evidence of funding and
supporting the very Daesh* terrorists and brutes within Syria to
conduct a proxy war against the Assad government despite wholesale
condemnations and declared hatred of such groups publicly. The world
is led to believe the US is at war with Islamic terror groups like
Daesh when in fact they are in
cahoots with allies who are arming them and fighting alongside
them in Syria.

John Shipton should be
enjoying his retirement years but instead, he is campaigning across
the world to raise awareness of his son’s terrible mistreatment by
the UK and US governments and demanding his immediate release. He
highlighted how Julian’s Wikileaks exposures have actually led to
government actions to expel US troops from their soil and thereby
saving lives. Despite empty headlines and accusations to the contrary
not a single individual has ever been harmed as a result of Wikileaks
publications and all the evidence shows Julian Assange worked
assiduously to redact the names of any potential targets in the war
logs while Guardian journalists who revelled in days of high profile
swoops and money spinning books actually betrayed details Julian
desperately worked to keep hidden.

George
Bush and Tony Blair Should be Behind Bars Not Julian Assange

The absence of
bitterness from John’s conversation with me is remarkable and
testimony to his compassion and understanding of world affairs. His
admiration for his son’s courage and strength is huge. Julian
Assange committed no crimes. He is in a prison cell while real war
criminals like George Bush and Tony Blair escape justice. They are
the ones who lied and bullied and bribed and blackmailed the UN to
try and get a second resolution justifying invading Iraq. They
failed.

Shipton: ‘Don’t Underestimate the Consequence of the Bravery of My
Son Julian Assange’

The invasion and
subsequent occupation were illegal and they should be held
responsible for the one million civilian deaths which resulted. The
fact Chelsea Manning spent seven years behind bars before her
thirty-five-year sentence was commuted by Barack Obama is a disgrace.
She was sentenced again last March because she refused to testify
against Julian Assange. She spent a year in jail between March 2019 –
March 2020. She is the epitome of courage and integrity. Refusing to
turn on Assange revealed her inner strength and dignity.

Julian
Assange is a Victim of Psychological Torture in UK Custody

Julian Assange’s
father drew attention to the numerous investigations of his son’s
incarceration by the United Nations rapporteur on torture and
arbitrary detention. Through visits and detailed assessments
Professor Nils Melzer compiled damning evidence which showed Julian
was indeed a victim of systematic psychological torture for which the
UK bears a heavy responsibility:

“The case
falls into my mandate in three different ways: First, Assange
published proof of systematic torture. But instead of those
responsible for the torture, it is Assange who is being persecuted.
Second, he himself has been ill-treated to the point that he is now
exhibiting symptoms of psychological torture. And third, he is to be
extradited to a country that holds people like him in prison
conditions that Amnesty International has described as torture. In
summary: Julian Assange uncovered torture, has been tortured himself
and could be tortured to death in the United States. And a case like
that isn’t supposed to be part of my area of responsibility? Beyond
that, the case is of symbolic importance and affects every citizen of
a democratic country”

Please read
these words from Professor Nils Melzer over and over again and
acquaint yourself with his various reports. Exactly ten years to the
day after exposing heinous US war crimes, systematic torture and
flagrant breaches of international law it is the man who exposed the
crimes who is behind bars when it should be the organisers,
facilitators and perpetrators of those crimes.

Plague
of Malice

During our interview,
I reminded John Shipton of an incredibly apt phrase he used recently
when interviewed during Julian’s trial in London. He said his son
was subject to a “plague
of malice”. I suggested it should be the title of a book
detailing how Julian has not been criminally prosecuted – he has been
politically persecuted. Persecuted by powerful nations in a vengeful
act of revenge for being exposed by Julian as the practiced
criminals, liars, and murderers they are. Should Julian Assange be
handed over by a British Court to face a life sentence in America for
publishing evidence of US government war crimes it is the death knell
of investigative journalism and the most serious undermining of free
speech and freedom of expression in hundreds of years. The world will
be propelled back to the dark ages of medieval dynasties and the
denial of democratic rights and freedoms should America be allowed to
demand the release of a journalist into their custody for harsh
punishment for doing no more than revealing war crimes. It was the
celebrated author and forensic social commentator George Orwell
who said that journalism
is printing what someone else does not want printed; everything else
is public relations.
But he also advised us that:

In a time of
deceit telling the truth is a revolutionary act.

Please get involved in
the various campaigns and online petitions and support groups
demanding the release of Julian Assange. His state-sponsored
political persecution has no association with justice and everything
to do with spite, revenge, and stark warnings to the rest of us.
Don’t you dare speak the truth or speak out or stand up against
injustices and wicked crimes committed by your governments lest you
face the same personal mauling and destruction of character meted out
to Julian Assange.

The cause of Julian
Assange is the cause of free speech, the rule of law and the right of
the public to know when their governments and the powerful commit
crimes. If they get away with extraditing Assange today it could be
any one of us tomorrow. Say it loud and say it clear – Exposing war
crimes is not a crime – Free Julian Assange.

You summed it up as well as it
could be. At 75 and a former pilot in the USAF, I am thoroughly
ashamed to call myself an American. Something must be done to secure
the release of Julian Assange. What the hell has happened to us that
we have allowed people to be tortured in our name! The whole world
knows that the British government is a mere puppet of the US State.
Julian is being imprisoned and tortured at the direction of the US
Government. Yes, our nation is, and has been, run for many years by a
government filled with war criminals!

DeGoedeZaak
is een mailactie begonnen voor de (vaste) Kamercommissie Buitenlandse Handel
en Ontwikkelingssamenwerking (Comm. BuHa-Os), een actie waarmee de leden van die
commissie dringend wordt gevraagd actie te ondernemen voor de
vluchtelingen van kamp Moria op Lesbos……

Het is
te gek voor woorden, maar de situatie in het nieuwe kamp Moria (2.0)
is zo mogelijk nog slechter dan die in het door brand verwoeste
kamp….. Zo staat het kamp hoogstwaarschijnlijk op een met lood
vergiftigd terrein, de tenten zijn niet bestand tegen de winterkou,
er is nauwelijks stromend water, het is eten van slechte kwaliteit en
de bewoners hebben nauwelijks toegang tot gedegen
gezondheidszorg….

Vergeet
niet dat deze mensen zoals gezegd voor het overgrote deel zijn
gevlucht voor grootschalige westerse terreur in eigen land zoals Afghanistan,
terwijl die terreur in andere landen ook nog eens verschillende
bevolkingsgroepen tegen elkaar heeft opgezet, zie Irak en
Syrië……*

Lees enteken de petitie ajb, de vluchtelingen hebben geen tijd te verliezen
en de EU-lidstaten moeten nu eindelijk eens verantwoording nemen voor
de illegale oorlogen van de VS waaraan zij middels de NAVO hebben
meegedaan, oorlogen die de vluchtelingenstromen opgang brachten en deze vluchtelingen (mensen) eindelijk ruimhartig opnemen!! (NAVO landen die mee hebben gedaan aan die oorlogen, zoals Nederland en waarbij de legers van die landen ook nog eens een groot aantal mensen hebben
vermoord, landgenoten en familie van de vluchtelingen in kamp Moria
en andere Griekse vluchtelingenkampen……)

Brievenactie: Fiks de Moriadeal!

Na de verwoestende brand in het
vluchtelingenkamp Moria moesten 13.000 mensen op straat slapen.
Structurele opvang van de slachtoffers door Europese lidstaten,
waaronder Nederland, bleef uit. In plaats daarvan werd een nieuw kamp
gebouwd. En wat blijkt: de
omstandigheden in “Moria 2.0” zijn nog slechter dan in het kamp
daarvoor.

IK STUUR EEN BRIEF VOOR HUMANE OPVANG


 

De inwoners moeten zien te
overleven in erbarmelijke omstandigheden. Uit onderzoek van Oxfam
Novib blijkt dat de tenten totaal niet bestand zijn tegen het
naderende winterweer. In
het nieuwe Moria is er nauwelijks stromend water, is het eten van
slechte kwaliteit en is de toegang tot gezondheidszorg gebrekkig. [1]
Daarnaast zijn er
serieuze zorgen dat het kamp op vergiftigde grond staat. [2] Gezinnen
leven op Lesbos in mensonterende omstandigheden. 


 

Ons kabinet mag dan bereid
zijn deze mensen aan hun lot over te laten, maar wij pikken dit niet!
Aankomende woensdag
wordt in de Tweede Kamer over het nieuwe Moria-kamp gesproken. Dit is
hét moment om je stem te laten horen. Stuur een (al klaargezette)
mail naar de Kamercommissie van Buitenlandse Handel en
Ontwikkelingssamenwerking om te laten weten dat er een oplossing moet
komen: Lesbos moet
leeg, en Nederland moet een deel van de vluchtelingen opvangen!

STUUR EEN BRIEF NAAR DE TWEEDE KAMER

De kritiek op de Moriadeal van het
kabinet, waarbij 100 slachtoffers uit Moria werden uitgeruild tegen
het opnemen van 100 andere kwetsbare vluchtelingen, zwelt steeds meer
aan. Vorige week startten bezorgde partijleden een actie om de
coalitie aan te sporen om acute hulp te bieden en met structurele
oplossingen in EU-verband te komen. Inmiddels hebben al bijna 1000
leden van de ChristenUnie, D66, het CDA en de VVD deze oproep
ondersteund! [3]

 

Met de winter in aantocht
is het nu of nooit als wij een verschil willen maken voor de mensen
van het nieuwe Moria.
Nu het onderwerp deze week op de politieke agenda staat, moeten wij
dus van ons laten horen! Druk van burgers werkt. Na de brand in Moria
op 9 september gingen we massaal de straat op en dwongen we het
kabinet actie te nemen. Samen kunnen wij het kabinet nu weer tot meer
medemenselijkheid bewegen!

Laat
jij de politiek weten dat wij Moria 2.0 niet accepteren?

Terwijl de Nederlandse regering
keer op keer zegt mensenrechten hoog in het vaandel te hebben, leven
er mensen aan de randen van ons continent in mensonterende
omstandigheden. Dit kunnen wij niet langer accepteren. Het is de
hoogste tijd om de Moriadeal te fiksen!

De eerste foto komt van de Radio1 site en daarbij staat in de kop van het bewuste artikel ‘Kamp
Moria 2.0: ‘Niet net zo rampzalig, maar geen douches en weinig
toiletten’, terwijl in werkelijkheid, zoals het schrijven van DeGoedeZaak hierboven weergeeft, de situatie allesbehalve beter is………

De oorlog in Syrië is voorbereid en geregisseerd door de VS, met
hulp van Groot-Brittannië, Egypte en Saoedi-Arabië…… Het plan
voor die oorlog stamt al uit 2006 en werd door Hillary Clinton als
Minister van BuZa onder Obama in werking gesteld, eerst met een
poging een opstand te ontketenen door de inzet van buitenlandse islamitische
agitatoren, die probeerden het volk op te zetten tegen de Assad
regering….. Toen dat niet lukte hebben de VS en Egypte hele
terreurgroepen en leden van terreurgroepen als ISIS, vanuit Libië via ‘tussenstation’ Irak, bewapend en voorzien van rollend
oorlogstuig overgebracht naar Syrië……..

VS oorlog tegen terreur vervangen door militaire bedreiging van Rusland, China en Iran

Eve
Ottenberg schreef op CounterPunch een artikel waarin ze betoogt dat
de VS de oorlog tegen terreur (NB met VS ondersteuning van
terreurgroepen als ISIS…) heeft vervangen voor het bedreigen van
Rusland, China en Iran (en Venezuela*) met militaire actie……

Met haar
leger, marine en luchtmacht** tart de VS de regimes van Rusland, China en Iran,
alsof het om regimes gaat die op het punt staan om een oorlog te
ontketenen tegen de VS…….

Trump
zei in zijn vierde toespraak tot de VN dat China de grote agressor
van de wereld is, terwijl hij zichzelf en de VS prees als
vredestichters, voorvechters van mensenrechten en een natie die het
beste voor heeft met de wereld……. Uiteraard kan iedereen zien die een klein
beetje energie steekt in wat de VS alleen deze eeuw al heeft
gepresteerd op dit gebied, dat het tegenovergestelde het geval
is…… Deze eeuw heeft de VS met hulp van haar oorlogshond
de NAVO (dus ook met hulp van Nederland) ruim meer dan 2,5 miljoen
mensen over de kling gejaagd in illegale oorlogen, geheime militaire (CIA) acties en standrechtelijke executies van verdachten en waarbij meer dan 90% van de slachtoffers die werden vermoord niet eens werden verdacht…. 

Voorts is de VS een grote schender van mensenrechten en dat bepaald niet aleen in eigen land, zie bijvooorbeeld de steun voor bloedige dictaturen in Latijns-Amerika, of zelfs het vervangen van democratische gekozen presidenten voor rechtse dictatoriale schoften…. Wat nog te zeggen over de claim dat de VS het beste voorheeft met de wereld, terwijl de werkelijkheid laat zien dat de VS het beste voorheeft met zichzelf en daarvoor zelfs andere landen aanvalt……

Ottenberg
betoogt terecht dat de VS met haar agressie, zoals de sancties tegen
Iran en China, de banden tussen Iran en China heeft doen veranderen in hechte
economische en vriendschappelijke banden*** en dat voor een tijd van minstens 25 jaar!!
Volgens Ottenberg waren die hechte banden er ook zonder de VS wel
gekomen, echter dat betwijfel ik toch enigszins, zeker gezien de
omgang van China met de Oeigoeren, al wordt die omgang in het westen zwaar
overdreven en aangezet met een hele berg leugens, echter zonder de
agressie, of beter gezegd terreur (bestaande uit illegale sancties en militaire agressie tegen Iran) van de VS lijkt het me sterk dat
deze regimes hechte banden zouden hebben aangeknoopt…….

Lees het artikel van Ottenberg en onthoudt wat ze te zeggen heeft,
immers de VS is op een uiterst gevaarlijk pad beland en daar zal het
met de Democraat Biden, mocht hij de presidentsverkiezingen winnen,
niet van afwijken, sterker nog: Biden heeft al beloofd dat mocht hij
winnen, de VS militaire actie zal ondernemen tegen Venezuela……
(vergeet niet dat Biden al een enorme oorlogsmisdadiger was, voordat

Provocation
on the High Seas: U.S. Naval Adventures Near the Shores of Russia,
China and Iran

The war on terror is slowly ending.
The U.S. military will try to keep bases in Iraq and Afghanistan, but
with most troops gone in the next few years, the lives of the few who
remain will be at constant risk. Pressure will mount to get those
soldiers out. But Pentagon bureaucrats and brass are masters of
institutional infighting, and, apparently, ignoring presidential
orders they don’t like, so who knows how that will turn out? One
thing is sure: the military’s focus has shifted, from the Middle
East to Russia and China. That means U.S. soldiers and materiel will
continue to be in places they shouldn’t, in ever greater numbers,
namely the Black Sea and the South China Sea.

Lest you fear that peace might
break out in the Middle East, there’s always the possibility of a
U.S. assault on Iran. That chance greatly increased with the Trump
regime’s monumental blunder of smashing the Iran nuclear treaty.
Trump clearly thought his high-handed rejection would cow the
Iranians. He was wrong. In an apparent rage, he ratcheted up
sanctions, threats, insults and then – an assassination, the
logical conclusion of which was war, had Trump not come to his
senses. Since then things have cooled down a bit, though not enough
to stop the Trump regime from interfering with Iran’s oil trade
with Venezuela or from making preposterous accusations about Iranian
plots against the U.S. ambassador to South Africa, an official with
no relation to Iran, known mostly for her business in expensive
handbags and for donating to Trump.

What the idiotically bellicose U.S.
policy toward Iran – including the recent U.S. push for more
sanctions – has mainly achieved is a warm embrace between Iran and
China. And that’s not a matter susceptible to piracy on the high
seas – the preferred U.S. approach to tankers taking Iranian fuel
to Caracas. Nor will wild charges about planned assassinations of
obscure, random U.S. bureaucrats affect this relationship. The Trump
regime has blustered, threatened, insulted and caused the great
Iran-China friendship to sink deep roots and blossom. It probably
would have anyway, but Trump surely deserves credit for nourishing
it.

As Time
reported on July 29, Iran is negotiating a 25-year deal with China,
with “billions of dollars worth of Chinese investments in energy,
transportation, banking and cybersecurity in Iran.” There also
could be “weapons development and intelligence sharing and joint
military drills.” In short, this $400 billion deal is huge and
alarm bells are ringing frantically in Washington. They shouldn’t
be. If the Trump regime had been paying attention, they would have
seen this coming, because it’s the logical outcome of their absurd
hostility to both countries.

But then, cultural illiteracy
regarding Iran is a feature of Republican policy in the Middle East.
After all, the Bush regime invaded, conquered and destroyed Iraq –
war crimes whose main beneficiary was Iran, which had no love, to say
the least, for Saddam Hussein and was more than happy to cement its
brotherhood with newly ascendant Iraqi Shia. This is the sort of
stuff any high schooler could have alerted the Bush regime to in
advance. But alas, the GOP’s geopolitical geniuses had no use for
even high school wisdom. To ensure we all got that point, the Trump
regime quickly pounced on one of Obama’s few decent and intelligent
moves in the Middle East – the Iran nuclear treaty – and shredded
it.

Still, the U.S. military’s focus
has shifted. That shift started with Obama’s odious “pivot to
China.” According to Chinese State Councilor Wang Yi, quoted by
Russia Today,
U.S. intervention in the South China Sea is “the main driver of
militarization there.” Currently several countries in the region
claim territory in the South China Sea – China, Vietnam, Malaysia,
the Philippines, Indonesia and Brunei. Some of these claims overlap,
thus causing disputes, RT
reports. The U.S. stirs the pot with its “freedom of navigation”
military patrols. Naturally this intervention has led to incidents
between the Chinese and U.S. militaries. And worse could happen any
time. China regards the South China Sea as its backyard and the U.S.
presence there as a provocation. After all, how would Washington
react to Chinese military patrols in the Gulf of Mexico? That is the
territorial equivalent of what the U.S. does to China, though
Washington refuses to recognize this in its quest for global
dominance.

It’s the same with U.S.
aggression in the Black Sea, where the target is Russia. In August,
the U.S. held military drills in the Black Sea, known, in the not too
distant past, as the shores of Russia. Earlier, Andrei Krasov of the
State Duma Defense Committee told the Interfax agency: “The actions
of American reconnaissance aircraft will not remain without
reaction.” 

Indeed, in late July, Russia reported intercepting an
American reconnaissance flight over the Black Sea. Two much of this
sort of stuff could lead to war.

So what we have here is the U.S.
fishing in troubled waters. NATO has already nearly surrounded
Russia, which now boasts supersonic nuclear weapons. In response,
Trump recently revealed that the U.S. has some sort of secret “super”
weapon. Which only makes the Black Sea brinksmanship more dangerous.
Both adversaries are armed to the teeth. To make matters worse, Trump
has ripped up all nuclear treaties with Russia except START – and
that is at death’s door.

A war with either Russia, China or
Iran would be catastrophic, as anyone with a brain knows. Nor would
it solve any of the myriad disasters currently besetting the U.S.: an
out-of-control pandemic, with more fatalities than any other country
in the world and no end in sight; economic collapse, with tens of
millions jobless and millions facing eviction and homelessness in a
few months; a climate taking revenge on fossil fuel capitalism by
burning up large swaths of the globe, including the American West
Coast; other human-induced, climate change, extreme weather events
elsewhere in the U.S., like the currently soggy Gulf Coast; the rise
of violent, over-armed, know-nothing, radical right-wing vigilantes;
racial unrest. And those are just the big, obvious monster weeds in
the American front yard. 

Washington should take a page from Voltaire
and tend its own garden. Forget about the Black Sea, the South China
Sea and the Gulf of Oman. Now is not the time for new conflict.
Because as every school child knows, never is the only time for
nuclear war.

De
reguliere westerse media loven het ‘vredesakkoord’ (Abraham-akkoord)
van Israël met de Verenigde Arabische Emiraten (VAE) en Bahrein, zonder te
kijken waarom e.e.a. gebeurt en wat de gevolgen daarvan zijn. Niet zo
vreemd als je ziet dat diezelfde media de westerse terreur onder
leiding van de VS in het Midden-Oosten, Afghanistan en een paar
Afrikaanse landen van A
tot Z hebben gesteund en daar nog steeds achter staan, zelfs als
achteraf bewijzen boven tafel kwamen waaruit overduidelijk bleek dat deze illegale oorlogen ‘werden gelegitimeerd’ door leugens, zoals die over Irak
onder Saddam Hoessein als zou dat land massavernietigingswapens
hebben gehad…..

Het
grootste doel van dit Abraham-akkoord* is Iran nog verder te
isoleren (en zo een steeds grotere legermacht op de been te brengen
om dit land aan te vallen) dit vanwege de zogenaamde agressie van dit
land…… Terwijl datzelfde westen (nogmaals: onder aanvoering van
de VS) alleen deze eeuw al meer dan 2,5 miljoen mensen heeft vermoord
in de illegale oorlogen tegen Afghanistan, Irak, Libië en Syrië, echter ook middels de duizenden moorden
die in de loop van de tijd werden begaan met behulp van drones en

behalve onafhankelijk zijn en de oren laten hangen naar de steenrijke

Vanmorgen sprak Bernard Hammelburg, de bolronde ‘buitenlanddeskundige’ van BNR, nogmaals lovende woorden over het Abraham-akkoord en uiteraard werd Iran als de grote boosdoener afgeschilderd, de nitwit spreekt zelfs over ‘de as’ Iran-Libanon-Syrië, alsof die meer bloed hebben vergoten, of zelfs maar in de buurt komen van wat ‘de as’ VS-Israël-de VAE-Bahrein-Saoedi-Arabië* aan bloed hebben vergoten…… Vergeet bijvoorbeeld niet dat Saoedi-Arabië en de VS de terreurgroepen in Syrië van wapens (inclusief rollend oorlogstuig en raketten), geld en militaire training hebben voorzien…… Om over de bloedige Israëlische terreur tegen het verdrukte Palestijnse volk nog maar te zwijgen, zoals het met scherp schieten op ongewapende demonstranten, waaronder kinderen, medisch hulpverleners en journalisten, dit tijdens de Great Return March (klik voor  berichten over die March op het label met die aanduiding, direct onder dit bericht)…….

Voorts voert Israël met grote regelmaat illegale bombardementen uit op doelen in Syrië, waarbij deze fascistische apartheidsstaat keer op keer het luchtruim van Libanon schendt…… (ook zou Israël zelfs doelen in Iran hebben gebombardeerd….)

Nee voor opperzak Hammelburg zijn de landen die met Israël heulen een coalitie, of geallieerden, terwijl dit uiteraard een as van het kwaad is, als bewijs daarvoor ook de genocide die Saoedi-Arabië, de VAE, Egypte en de VS uitvoeren in Jemen, waar intussen al minstens een half miljoen mensen moet zijn overleden, of beter gezegd: moet zijn vermoord (waaronder om en nabij 100.000 kinderen……) door grootschalige terreur en blokkades van voedsel, water, brandstof en medicijnen door de genoemde schoftenlanden…….. (de laatst genoemde zaken zijn zelfs misdaden tegen de menselijkheid!!!)

Ach ja, Hammelburg, de ploert die mensen op de sociale media  kakkerlakken durft te noemen, je weet wel zoals de nazi-Duitsers de Joden afschilderden voor en tijdens WOII…….

Opperschoften en oorlogsmisdadigers Pompeo en Natanyahu (deze twee hebben ze duidelijk te zien beiden achter de ellebogen……)

The
presidential election of 2020 is inching closer by the day, and
naturally, Israel
is a major beneficiaryof
the political jockeying that is taking place.

Given
what we already know about this administration it’s not completely
fantastical to think that it might resort to the very worstand
that if it did so Israel would be a large factor in it. 

Actually I
think it’s interesting how the further isolation of Iran is not a
much bigger talking point among analysts when they discuss Israel’s
new agreements with the autocratic Persian Gulf states of Bahrain
and the United Arab Emirates.Shared
enmity of Iran is the driving force behind Israel’s (now disclosed)
relations with these two states, as
well as others;
the humiliation of Palestinians, while an awful betrayal, is much
less a goal of the Gulf states than it is a consequence they are
willing to accept. Even if every neocolonial western-backed regime in
the Middle East decided to recognize Israel it wouldn’t solve
Israel’s true
existential issues.

Anyway,
the U.S., Israel and several Gulf states are out of the closet as a
front, and they are the “good guys,” while Iran, Hezbollah, Hamas
and whomever else “they” want to demonize are the “bad guys,”
and it seems like we lived through something
very similarnot
all that long ago. The international order may not be a
Hobbesian-like anarchy but it is ruthlessly rational in its amorality
and inhumanity. In this regard Israel has shown itself to be a great
success.

During
this holy week of contemplation,
it’s worth asking if a Jewish State in the Levant that was founded
against the will of the majority of the people who lived there and
that has defined itself in opposition to the flora and fauna of the
region, has
been worth the costs.

Samenzweringstheorie paniek wordt juist gevoed door ‘tegenstanders’ daarvan

Nicholas
Levis heeft op CounterPunch een artikel geschreven waarin hij betoogt
dat juist de figuren die complotten uitwerken, mensen aanwijzen als de makers van
samenzweringstheorieën (of complottheorieën, wat je wilt), als deze het complot blootleggen die zij de
rest van de bevolking willen opdringen. Het is als met de hysterie
over fake news in de reguliere media (en politiek), waar journalisten
zelfs durven te eisen dat er censuurmaatregelen moeten worden genomen tegen bepaalde sites op de
sociale media, daar men fake news zou verspreiden……. Terwijl diezelfde media keer op keer fake news (nepnieuws)
brengen, sterker nog: fake news brengen op basis waarvan illegale
oorlogen zijn aangegaan door de VS, weliswaar aantoonbaar ingegeven door leugens van de
geheime diensten van de VS, maar met grote graagte overgenomen door die reguliere (massa-) media…… 

Levis
wijst dan ook niet voor niets naar de illegale oorlog van de VS tegen
Irak, waar het volk (ook in de EU) werd voorbereid op deze oorlog met
de hersenspoeling van het volk door politici en media met leugens als
zou Saddam Hoessein, destijds president van Irak, geheime voorraden
massavernietigingswapens in bezit hebben gehad….. Een enorme
leugen waartegen VN-wapeninspecteur Blix als een Don Quichot
tegen vocht, keer op keer liet hij de wereld weten dat Irak zelfs
geen massavernietigingswapens kon hebben, al deze wapens waren
vernietigd en men had bij wijze van spreken elke vierkante meter van
het land onderzocht……

Ook Henk Hofland, die door de Nederlandse pers als belangrijkste journalist van de 20ste eeuw wordt vereerd, geloofde deze leugen en ventileerde die op de NRC, de ‘slijpsteen van de
geest’ (eerder de overdosis morfine voor de geest)….. Let wel,
ik zeg ‘geloofde’, echter Hofland moet dondersgoed geweten hebben dat
dit een pertinente leugen was en toch stelde hij zich achter de
illegale oorlog tegen Irak, wat hij tot zijn dood is blijven doen,

Voorts merkt Levis nog op dat Irak werd beschuldigd van het deelnemen aan de 9/11 aanslagen en zonder
enig bewijs herhaalden Bush en vooral Dick Cheney deze leugen….. Na
verloop van tijd was het grootste deel van de bevolking in de VS ervan
overtuigd dat deze leugen de waarheid was (en ook in de rest van het
westen
begon men deze leugen te geloven….) Belachelijk, daar de VS Al Qaida als organisatie had aangewezen die verantwoordelijk was voor de 9/11 aanslagen en als er iemand was die de schurft had aan Al Qaida was het Saddam Hoessein wel!!

Conspiracy
Panic

The most consequential false
conspiracy theory of the last twenty years in the United States
centered on fabricated accusations raised against the Iraqi state in
2002-3. These claimed that Iraq maintained secret stores of “weapons
of mass destruction” and intended to use them against the West,
perhaps imminently. Most versions also insinuated the Saddam regime
was involved in some vague manner in perpetrating the 9/11 attacks
together with its sworn enemies, the jihadi movements then doing
business as al-Qaeda. That is what the vice-president running the
regime, Cheney, repeatedly said. His president, Bush, just repeated
the magic words 9/11-Saddam-9/11-Saddam-9/11 for months, until it was
taken to be true by enough people to allow a smooth start to the
carnage. The claims were actively fabricated by officials and agents
at several agencies of the U.S., UK and other national security
states, by various client groups and allied journalists, and by
freelance assholes looking to get a piece of the action. The
fabricators knew they were lying, and they knew that they lied so as
to sell a planned, unprovoked war of aggression to the American, UK,
and other western publics. The resulting war destroyed a nation, led
to more than a million deaths, and accelerated the establishment of
an archipelago of torture centers under U.S. control.

In short, the “Saddam-WMD-9/11”
conspiracy theory was a top-down psychological operation conducted by
state-based agents against the public, and freely trumpeted by nearly
all organs of the U.S. corporate media. It has been completely
discredited, but rarely will you here it called a conspiracy theory.
None of the perpetrators of the campaign have been prosecuted, and
most have continued their career trajectories unhindered by their
participation in this well-known crime. Today many of them have been
embraced by the Democratic establishment as heroic fighters against
Trump — the same Democratic establishment that always seeks
distance from actual fighters against Trump.

The most consequential American
conspiracy theories ever were the Red Scares of 1919-21 and the late
1940s and early 1950s. Both met with a degree of popular enthusiasm
and broad fear-based assent, but both were initiated and run by state
and corporate-based elements as top-down psychological operations
against the public, specifically targeting the left, labor
organizers, and journalists, celebrities or teachers who showed
insufficient anti-Communist fervor. Both campaigns succeeded in
transforming American society and politics in a right-wing direction,
and helped in partly dismantling the progressive, leftist and
honestly liberal movements of their times.

A recent conspiracy panic campaign,
#Russiagate, presented a mythic (and facially laughable) explanation
for how the Democrats managed to lose the unloseable 2016 election.
It appears to have been intended to weaken or to knock Trump out of
office. If so, it backfired completely, presenting a fictional
distraction from the far-worse realities of the regime’s violent
policies and incipient fascism. Every time that the ludicrous and
byzantine accusations fell apart (predictably, in every case),
Trump’s position was strengthened, and that of real opposition to
Trump’s barbarities was weakened.

Given their failure to actually
fight Trump on policy, and given the Democrats’ embrace of Bushian
politics and Bush-era war criminals, austerity, and imperialism, and
given their propping-up of a right-wing candidate who has his own
degree of involvement in Trump-style nepotism and is visibly
suffering from cognitive impairment, Trump would be cruising to
reelection. Cruising, that is, except for the unpredictable factors
of Covid, the Depression, and the open outbreaks of organized fascist
street violence that he praises. And because a real opposition to
this regime’s particular horrors exists, and has not surrendered.
(If they lose, the Democrats will blame the real opposition, and are
already doing so preemptively.) 

Thus, for the moment, Trump is well
behind in the polls, despite the four-year favor to him delivered by
the #Russiagate operation with its demand for 24/7 coverage and
predictable serial failures.

However, the #Russiagate conspiracy
panic operation also succeeded, insofar as it has functioned to
condition most Democratic-type liberals (and some of the left) to
uncritically accept a xenophobic explanation for the rise of an
all-American fascism, and insofar as it has gained much support among
them for a bellicose, new-Cold War stance and widepread favor for
censorship measures (run by private mega-corporations) to combat
“propaganda” and “conspiracy theory.”

It cannot be known at this time,
but the QAnon narrative appears likely to have also originated with
an intel operation, or the action of a Trump-friendly outfit, with
the design of casting noise over a story that sounds just like it,
but is actually true. Trump, Bill Clinton and various celebrities and
intellectual hooligans were all tied to the long-time human
trafficking and rape-ring run by likely intelligence asset and
“billionaire” Jeffrey Epstein. He was convicted, and his
co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell stands accused. The operation’s
apparent purpose was to gain material for political blackmail.
Trump’s former labor secretary, Acosta, was formerly the Florida
prosecutor who made a deal to allow the convicted Epstein to walk
free in 2008, and to seal the records of his clients. It’s fine to
condemn QAnon, but when you spend your hours talking about how
ridiculous and hateful and wrong the story is, you are not talking
about Epstein and Trump and Clinton (and the various other Epstein
“friends”). You are not talking about or acting on a million
other things that matter. From the perspective of the QAnon
propagators, you are helping to promote and reinforce the ruse.

America, like many places, is home
to fantastically, facially false grand conspiracy narratives positing
that the political economy (so evidently managed by a ruling class of
owners and corporations and policy-makers reigning over large
instituions, who act mostly in the open) is secretly run by a single,
smaller, invisible cabal of satanically-inclined mystery men who just
want to do evil because they hate America, or maybe because they want
to destroy Trump’s beautiful white race. There are many varieties
of grand-global conspiracy theories, but they often pander to odious,
hateful, and exterminationist politics. The latter are often modeled
on the old European anti-Semitic blood libel, or, in fact, repeat the
old European anti-Semitic blood libel.

Grand-global conspiracy narratives
can appeal to a common socio-psychological make-up that hankers for
denial and magic and simplicity, for stories that attribute social
ills and human troubles to a corruption that can be theoretically
excised, restoring a normality that never really existed as it is now
imagined. In this they are akin to other quick-fix narratives, many
of them based in religious dogmas (e.g. bad things happen because
people reject Jesus and commit acts the Bible supposedly prohibits;
or, to take a now-abandoned version, alcohol consumption is the true
primary cause of social ills and prohibition can fix it). For most,
the reality that their society is systematically rotten to the core,
burning the planet, and heading for a predictable fall, and that any
change to this reality must be revolutionary or will be nothing, is
much harder to process, above all emotionally. It also subjects one
to the accusation of radicalism, extremism, or “conspiracy theory.”

I dispute that very many people
change their politics or prejudices or world-view as a result of
exposure to one of the global-type conspiracy theories. On the
contrary, these are devised to aggrandize and manipulate
already-existing political tendencies. People tend to believe what
they were long-ago conditioned to believe, and they tend to see what
they believe. And remember, the most effective and consequential
conspiracy theories in the modern milieu are rarely products of
autopoeitic convergences of mass psychology. They almost always have
original authors who know that they are inventing this shit, like
QAnon. 

They are the products of modern public relations and popular
mood management.

Granting that grand-global
conspiracy narratives exist, the use of the phrase “conspiracy
theory” in American discourse has always been rotten as fuck.
Whether true or not, whether or not believable or grounded in
evidence, any claims that attribute malfeasance to the American
ruling class and policy-making power elite, or to the actual owners
and runners of a system in which high-level crime was long ago
legalized, is derided as “conspiracy theory” by the very same
ruling class, power elite, corporate media, punditry, and
liberal-authoritarian establishment. However, claims that mirror the
same narratives, but allege them against an officially designated
enemy, are never called conspiracy theory. In fact, once the latter
tales are circulated within the corporate news media, to question
them comes itself to be classified as conspiracy theory. You are a
conspiracy theorist if you reject the outlandish #Russiagate
conspiracy theories. And, once called a conspiracy theorist, you are
supposed to be automatically and forever discredited from
participating in public discourse. Increasingly, you are seen as the
bearer of a dangerous and contagious disease, associated loosely with
all other persons categorized as “conspiracy theorists,” and
treated as fair game for censorship.

Conspiracy panic is a propaganda
weapon that props up an overall portrayal of the mass of the people
(and especially critics of the ideological hegemony, of whatever
stripe, good or bad) as ipso-facto stupid, preemptively discredited,
crazy, unworthy of participation in discourse, and dangerous.
Conspiracy panic nowadays is a go-to for liberals to deny and
distract and divert to incremental bullshit, and not have to think
about systemic irrationality, falsehood, evils and failures, and how
most of the unfolding disasters — including Trump himself — are
not aberrations or surprises but predictable and systemic. It’s
easier and more comforting to affect being appalled at the stupidity
of QAnon (or the supposed millions who were moved to vote for Trump
only because they saw a “Russian” post online), and to
virtue-signal that you are different from the dumb right-wing patsies
who eat that shit up, than to spend too much time being aware that
the billionaire and corporate and ensconced policy-making ruling
class as a whole — their names are known and plastered in the
headlines — is by definition a predator class, professionally
incapable of mercy, with overwhelming power over the rest of us,
acting in ways that guarantee capitalism and its “ways of life”
will continue burning the planet, literally, until the ecosystem’s
capacity to sustain the present human civilization and population
collapses. Which, speaking in historical lengths, is imminent, and
possibly no longer reversible. Fight this anyway.

Rond 9.16 u. vanmorgen op BNR het bericht dat Iran van zins zou zijn Lana Marks, de VS ambassadeur voor Zuid-Afrika, te vermoorden als vergelding voor de moord op de Iraanse generaal Qassem Soleimani…… E.e.a. zou berusten op rapporten van geheime diensten in de VS, waar de CIA ‘met naam’ wordt genoemd, dit volgens een VS ambtenaar die de zaak kent en iemand die het rapport zou hebben gezien…… ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Ja, bijzonder geloofwaardig allemaal, zeker als je nagaat dat de geheime diensten van de VS vooral goed zijn in het maken van leugens over- en verdachtmakingen tegen landen die de VS niet welgevallig zijn….. 

Volgens Politico die het bericht bracht was de VS al op de hoogte van het gevaar voor de ambassadeur, echter de laatste weken zou men wat specifiekere leugens hebben gebracht, nu zegt men ronduit, zonder dat iemand ook maar enig bewijs heeft gezien voor deze meer dan belachelijke beschuldiging, dat de Iraanse ambassade in Pretoria (Zuid-Afrika) deel zou nemen aan dit complot (beter: aan deze complottheorie….)…..

Waarom zou Iran in godsnaam zo dom zijn om iets dergelijks te ondernemen, zeker naar steeds duidelijke wordt dat steeds meer soennitisch arabische landen zich onder aanvoering van Israël verenigen tegen de sjiitische islamgelovigen en dan m.n.tegen het sjiitische Iran (en Jemen, waar Saoedi-Arabië, een aantal andere arabische landen als de Verenigde Arabische Emiraten [VAE], Egypte en Marokko met hulp van de VS en Groot-Brittannië, een genocide uitvoeren op de sjiitische bevolking in Jemen…..)

Om deze nieuwe verdachtmaking tegen Iran kracht bij te zetten heeft Politico alle leugens over Iran uit de met poep bedekte wc getrokken, waarna je als argeloze lezer maar één ding kan concluderen (althans als het telraam in het hoofd beperkt is): Iran is een duivelse staat die de stabiliteit in het Midden-Oosten keer op keer doet wankelen….. Terwijl de werkelijkheid laat zien dat de VS daar verantwoordelijk voor is, de VS dat met hulp van haar oorlogshond NAVO sinds 2001 in Afghanistan, het Midden-Oosten en Afrikaanse landen als Libië, Somalië, Soedan en Eritrea*, meer dan 2,5 miljoen mensen heeft vermoord….. Een zaak waarmee de westerse reguliere media en politiek geen moeite hebben, deze media en politiek herhalen alle leugens over Iran als was het het woord van god……. ‘Geen moeite mee hebben?’ Ze werken er zelfs aan mee……. 

Intussen zijn er een flink aantal moslimlanden die geen probleem meer hebben met deze westerse terreur (en dat is het: grootschalige VS terreur uitgeoefend in illegale oorlogen, geheime militaire acties (o.l.v. de CIA) en drone aanvallen, niets anders dan moorden op verdachten waarbij meer dan 90% van de slachtoffers niet eens werd verdacht……)…. Zoals deze landen ook geen probleem meer hebben met de voortgaande massaslachtingen onder Palestijnen door Israël……. De
Democratische Conventie heeft eens te meer duidelijk gemaakt dat met
een Democraat in het Witte Huis de kans op een verlichting van de
ongebreidelde VS terreur in diverse buitenlanden geen sprake zal zijn….. Vorige week
dinsdagavond werd in de VS een van te voren opgenomen video
uitgezonden, waarin een groep van 7 militaire, geheime dienst en
diplomatieke beambten werden getoond, deze figuren stelden dat de
Trump administratie niet agressief genoeg optreedt in het
Midden-Oosten*, en tegen Rusland, China, Iran en Venezuela……

Ongelofelijk
dat ook Colin Powell deel uitmaakte van de 7, dat deze vreselijke
oorlogsmisdadiger zijn mond nog open durft te doen is een gotspe!! De
schoft stelde dat niemand zal durven opstaan tegen Biden daar ze
zullen weten wat ‘business’ is onder Biden, je weet wel dezelfde
‘business’ die met de leugens van Powell werd losgelaten op Irak en
die daar intussen aan meer dan 2 miljoen mensen het leven heeft gekost, ofwel mensen die zijn vermoord door de VS en haar hielenlikkende NAVO partners
als Nederland…….

–  Over the past week, the American public was subjected to an
eight-hour infomercial, officially termed by the Democratic Party a
“convention,” in which the long-time political reactionary Joe
Biden was packaged simultaneously as the great American everyman and
a miracle cure for America’s problems.

Amid celebrity cameos,
empty platitudes, and unconvincing “personal” anecdotes, the vast
majority of this week’s telethon was devoid of any actual
discussion of program and policies. Behind the hoopla, however, there
are significant conflicts within the ruling class, centered primarily
on issues of foreign policy.

These conflicts were
partially revealed on Tuesday night, when the convention aired a
pre-recorded segment featuring a group of seven military,
intelligence and diplomatic officials who claimed that the Trump
administration was not fighting the US wars in the Middle East and
pursuing its conflicts with Russia and China aggressively enough.

Commenting on Trump’s
Middle East policy, Brett McGurk, in charge of the US operations in
the Middle East under Obama, said, “Our military had a policy to
maintain our presence in Syria,” which Trump went on to “abandon.”
He concluded, “It’s shameful.”

Rose Gottemoeller,
former Deputy Secretary General of NATO, concluded that Trump “hasn’t
been standing up” to Russia and China “at all.” Another State
Department official added, “Thanks to Donald Trump, our adversaries
are stronger, and bolder.”

Following the segment,
General Colin Powell added that Biden “will make it his job to know
when anyone dares to threaten us, he will stand up to our adversaries
with strength and experience. They will know he means business.”
The “business” for which Powell is best known is the destruction
of Iraq and the death of one million of its inhabitants, based on
false claims about “weapons of mass destruction.”

These themes were
expanded upon in a letter published Friday by a group of 72
high-level intelligence and military officials—and war
criminals—headed by former CIA and NSA director Michael Hayden,
declaring their support for Biden.

The first of the
letter’s ten bullet points states that Trump “has called NATO
‘obsolete,’ branded Europe a ‘foe,’ mocked the leaders of
America’s closest friends, and threatened to terminate longstanding
US alliances.” As a result, the letter concludes, “ Donald Trump
has gravely damaged America’s role as a world leader.”

In other words, the
present administration has undermined the fundamental geostrategic
aims that have led the United States into three decades of war: The
effort to control the Eurasian landmass, including the Middle East.

In the four years
since Trump became the Republican nominee, a ferocious conflict has
been raging within the ruling class, centered on differences over
foreign policy, and in particular the “hot war” being waged
between the Ukrainian government and pro-Russian forces in its
Eastern regions after the US-backed coup in 2014.

Instead of focusing on
the conflict with Russia that has been the preeminent concern of much
of the foreign policy establishment, the Trump administration has
been preoccupied with stunting the economic growth of China while
building up US military capabilities to fight a war in the Pacific.

But here, too, the
military and intelligence figures aligned with the Biden campaign
feel that the White House has been ineffective. As two of the
letter’s signatories wrote in an article in Foreign
Policy
magazine, “Trump has confronted China by starting trade wars with
everyone else” rather than involving other imperialist states.
“Major democratic powers including Japan, France, and Canada are
desperate to work with the United States to blunt China’s predatory
technology policies.”

From the standpoint of
the ruling class, it is primarily these differences over foreign
policy, not domestic policy, that are being fought out in the
election. Facing the greatest social and economic crisis since the
Great Depression, domestic policy has been conducted on a largely
bipartisan basis. The CARES Act, which sanctioned the
multi-trillion-dollar bailout of Wall Street while starving testing
and contact tracing, passed unanimously in the Senate and by an
unrecorded voice vote in the House.

The latest issue of
Foreign
Affairs,
one of the main journals of US geopolitics, lays out some of the
concerns of the dominant factions of the state. “After nearly four
years of turbulence,” the lead editorial states, “the country’s
enemies are stronger, its friends are weaker, and the United States
itself is increasingly isolated and prostrate.”

Its concern is that
Trump has proven an unreliable steward of the interests of the ruling
class abroad. “Dragging his party and the executive branch along,
the president has reshaped national policy in his own image: focused
on short-term advantage, obsessed with money, and uninterested in
everything else.”

The magazine’s lead
story declares that Trump’s unstable and erratic foreign policy has
resulted in a situation in which “China is wealthier and stronger,
North Korea has more nuclear weapons and better missiles… and
Nicolás Maduro is more entrenched in Venezuela, as is Bashar
al-Assad in Syria.”

From the standpoint of
the Biden campaign, the solution to all of these crises is to
reassert American dominance and “leadership” over its traditional
allies in Europe and Japan in order to pursue a more aggressive US
policy against Russia and China. The United States must again be the
world hegemon.

The central focus of
the new administration will be “reclaiming America’s place in the
world” through the reassertion of “American exceptionalism,”
stated Joe Biden adviser Jake Sullivan in the Atlantic
.

Earlier this year,
Biden published an article entitled “Rescuing U.S. Foreign Policy
After Trump” in the March/April issue of Foreign
Affairs.
In that article, he declares, that “to counter Russian aggression,
we must keep the alliance’s military capabilities sharp.” At the
same time, the United States needs to “get tough with China.” The
“most effective way to meet that challenge is to build a united
front of U.S. allies and partners to confront China.”

But while the latest
issue of Foreign
Affairs
may be titled “The World Trump Made,” the geopolitical debacle
facing the United States did not spring from Trump’s head. Trump
did not make the “world.” Rather, the “world”—and,
specifically, the crisis of American imperialism—made Trump.

The decline in the
hegemonic position of the United States extends over a period of
decades and was already evident prior to the collapse of the Soviet
Union in 1990-91. The dissolution of American imperialism’s Cold
War adversary was seized on by the strategists of the American ruling
class to declare a “unipolar moment.” The United States could
utilize its unrivaled military power to counter its declining
economic position through force.

The endless series of
wars launched by the United States over the past three decades have
destroyed entire societies—in Iraq, Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, Libya,
Syria, Ukraine, and Yemen, among others. But they have failed to
reverse US imperialism’s fortunes. Moreover, they have profoundly
distorted and brutalized American society itself: a process of which
the fascistic Trump administration is an expression.

Even prior to Trump’s
inauguration, there were growing tensions between the US and its
erstwhile allies in Europe. The coronavirus pandemic and the
disastrous response of the ruling class to it—a policy that has
been bipartisan—has further eroded the global position of American
capitalism.

American imperialism
confronts intractable problems, and first among them is the growth of
social opposition within the United States itself. Among the
considerations motivating support for the Biden campaign within the
ruling class is the hope that it can somehow establish a broader base
for imperialist aggression abroad. The promotion of identity politics
is aimed at further integrating privileged sections of the upper
middle class behind the project of global domination. This is what
Kamala Harris represents.

A Biden/Harris
administration will not inaugurate a new dawn of American hegemony. 

Rather, the attempt to assert this hegemony will be through
unprecedented violence. If it is brought to power—with the support
of the assemblage of reactionaries responsible for the worst crimes
of the 21st century—it will be committed to a vast expansion of
war. Trump and Pompeo are barreling headlong toward a conflict with
China. Biden’s critique of this disastrous course is that the
United States needs to get “tough,” whether against Russia,
China, Afghanistan, Syria, or everywhere in between.

The American ruling
class, moreover, confronts in the growth of the class struggle the
most serious threat to its geopolitical ambitions.

Whichever course is
ultimately determined by the election, US imperialism has, as the

warned in the run-up to the Iraq war, a “rendezvous with disaster.”
All factions of the US state are united on a course of action that
will lead to the deaths of countless millions. The struggle against
war will not go forward through the selection of either Trump or
Biden, but through the independent struggle of the working class.

Tijdens
de laatste maanden heeft Trump oliemaatschappijen en andere bedrijven
die het milieu ernstig vervuilen al toestemming gegeven zich niet
langer aan milieuregels te houden, dit vanwege de Coronacrisis…..

Het
Care2 team heeft een petitie ‘gelanceerd’, waarmee de Trump
administratie wordt gevraagd om NEPA (de National Environmental
Protection Act), te herstellen zodat de burgers en het milieu worden
beschermd tegen zware milieuvervuiling.

Uiteraard
kunnen wij de petitie niet tekenen, echter wij kunnen wel van Den
Haag en Brussel eisen dat er niet langer fossiele brandstoffen van VS
bedrijven worden afgenomen, immers vooral deze oliemaatschappijen
zouden zelf ook hun verantwoordelijkheid moeten nemen en hebben rekening te houden met de mens en ons aller thuis, de aarde….. Kunnen we
meteen eisen dat steenkool niet langer wordt geïmporteerd uit
Australië en de VS, die steenkool op de wereldmarkt dumpen tegen
afbraakprijzen, de reden waarom Balkenende 4 (CDA en PvdA ) het
besluit namen 4 nieuwe kolencentrales toe te staan en waarom Rutte 2
en 3 miljarden hebben gestoken in het opkopen van bossen in de VS en
Scandinavië, om deze als ‘biomassa’ te verbranden in deze centrales,
terwijl houtverbranding nog een fractie slechter is dan
steenkoolverbranding…. (en dan durven de reguliere media hier Rutte 3 het groenste kabinet ooit te noemen, een staaltje smerige ‘greenwashing’ waar je stijl van achterover slaat……)

Tijd
voor een EU petitie!!

In de
tekst van de Care2 petitie valt o.a. te lezen dat deze nodig is om het
klimaatkantelpunt te voorkomen, echter er zijn al wetenschappers die
stellen dat we dit kantelpunt al zijn gepasseerd en gezien de snelle
klimaatopwarming aan de polen, hebben deze wetenschappers het gelijk
aan hun kant. Dit wil niet zeggen dat we niets moeten doen, we moeten
juist alles op alles stellen om de klimaatverandering nog enigszins
af te remmen, dat kan miljoenen mensen het leven sparen en kan
gebieden sparen voor bewoning!!

Over onbewoonbare gebieden en steden gesproken: afgelopen week in Bagdad temperaturen
tot boven de 50 graden Celsius, ofwel zonder airco is deze stad
eigenlijk niet langer bewoonbaar, waar de huidige bewoners door de
schuld van het westen nog maar een paar uur per dag de beschikking hebben
over elektriciteit, waardoor ook de airco amper verlichting kan brengen……. (dit nog naast het feit dat het enorme gebruik van airco’s de klimaatverandering verder aanjaagt……)

Mocht je familie, vrienden of kennissen hebben in de VS, speel hen dan de petitie door en vraag hen te tekenen.

Environmental Protection Act (NEPA) has protected people and the
planet by making sure construction companies can’t just willy-nilly
build factories, pipeliness, major roadways, or drilling sites near
where people live. Naturally, that infuriated Donald Trump. So he
took a massive wrecking ball to the law. Under his new, stripped-down
version, corporations will no
longer need to consider a project’s contribution to climate change.
And
people who live near proposed sites will have virtually zero chance
for input.

This is an egregious
attempt to take away the rights of the people and expand the already
massive power and wealth of the fossil fuel and construction
industries, and at a
particularly horrible time. Climate change is already a global
emergency, with scientists agreeing that if we have not taken enough
steps by 2030 to curb the climb of the world’s temperatures, we will
be past the point of no return. NEPA was already insufficient for the
task at hand, and now we don’t even have its meager protections. Sign
the petition and demand that the Trump Administration restore NEPA to
the way it was meant to be, before it’s too late for the planet and
our people!

Geen
nieuws eigenlijk, het bericht van het Rainforest Action Network,
waaraan tevens een petitie is gekoppeld, dat een enorm gebied met bos en veen in Siberië in brand staat, maar dat ook een groot deel van de
oerwouden in het Amazonegebied (vooral in Brazilië) en Indonesië afbrandt, echter belangrijk genoeg om nog eens te herhalen, zeker
gezien de bijna totale desinteresse van de reguliere media……. 

In het Amazonegebied is alweer een klein record gevestigd: nu al de meeste brandhaarden van de laatste 13 jaar (aldus Greenpeace Groot-Brittannië) Deze
branden worden aangestoken door figuren die ofwel palmolieplantages
willen beginnen, dan wel soja willen telen of gebied vrijmaken voor
intensieve veehouderij…….. Greenpeace wijst daarvoor naar banken in GB, daar deze banken 2 miljard dollar hebben gestoken in de doodsindustrie die wordt aangeduid als veeteelt…… Ofwel grote gebieden van het Amazonewoud brandt men af om daar vee te kunnen laten grazen…….

Zolang
regeringen toestaan dat palmolie gebruikt mag worden in een enorm
aantal voedingsmiddelen (zoals Unilever dat in haar meeste
‘voedingsproducten’ doet) en als brandstof mag worden ingezet, zal
men oerwoud blijven verbranden, er bestaat dan ook geen duurzame
palmolie zoals bedrijven als Unilever de wereldbevolking
voorliegen…. Bovendien is deze zogenaamde duurzame palmolie zonder
meer slecht voor je lichaam, het is een heel fout vet dat een groot
aantal organen aan kan tasten, zoals het hart en de
hersenen…..*

Dan gaat
de gentech soja uit het Amazonegebied naar diervoer en het kleine
Nederland is daar zelfs de nummer 2 importeur van, na het enorme
China……. Dit daar wij een meer dan schandalig grote veestapel
hebben van 500 miljoen dieren die hier jaarlijks worden groot- en
doodgemarteld…… Een veestapel die ook nog eens een gigantische
berg methaangas uitstoot, een broeikasgas dat meer dan 80 keer zo
sterk is als CO2….. Ofwel Nederland is een onevenredig grote
aanjager van de klimaatverandering…… Niet alleen door het
platbranden van oerwoud voor die veestapel, maar ook nog eens met die
veestapel zelf, om over de extra belasting door transportbewegingen voor
die doodsindustrie nog maar te zwijgen……

Over klimaatverandering gesproken: afgelopen dinsdag 28 juli was het meer dan 50 graden Celsius in Bagdad, waar regelmatige temperaturen boven de 45 graden C. worden gemeten die een stad of gebied in feite onleefbaar maken…….. En dan te bedenken dat door de illegale oorlog die de VS met hulp van o.a. Nederland in 2003 begon (waarbij meer dan 2 miljoen mensen werden vermoord) het land in chaos is gestort en men maximaal 2 uur per dag elektriciteit heeft….. ‘Het gaat goed met de acties tegen de klimaatverandering…..’ Maar niet heus: ondanks alle zeer vervuilende klimaattoppen stijgt jaar op jaar de CO2 en methaangas uitstoot…… 

Zoals opegemerkt: de ujitstoot van methaangas groeit niet alleen door de enorme veehouderij wereldwijd, maar ook doordat de opwarming van de aarde, het hoogst is in m.n. het noorden tegen de poolcirkel…… Daar zijn enorme hoeveelheden methaangas opgeslagen in de permafrost die steeds sneller ontdooit, dit geeft een cumulatief effect, immers door de hoge temperaturen ontdooit de permafrost en het vrijgekomen methaangas jaagt de klimaatverandering verder aan, waardoor het nog warmer wordt en er nog meer methaangas vrijkomt, enz. enz…….

Om het voorgaande proces nog eens te versterken staan ook nu weer grote gebieden in Siberië in brand, gebieden zo groot dat het ondoenlijk is deze te blussen…… Met andere woorden niet alleen komen daar enorme hoeveelheden CO2 vrij door bos- en veenbranden, maar komt als gevolg daarvan ook nog eens een giga berg methaangas vrij….. In plaats van Rusland te demoniseren zouden westerse regeringen hulp moeten bieden bij het blussen, immers de klimaatverandering stopt niet bij de grenzen van Rusland!!

Lees en
teken de petitie van Rainforest Action Network (RAN) ajb (en geeft het door), het afbranden van oerwoud voor veeteelt, palmolie en soja (de laatste voor meer dan 80% naar de
‘vleesindustrie’) moet eindelijk afgelopen zijn, waarbij bedrijven
als Unilever voor het gerecht zouden moeten worden gesleept!! Als je
het niet voor jezelf wilt tekenen, doe het dan voor toekomstige
generaties!!

last year was just a preview of what’s to come this year. These
fires have been intentionally set by Big Agribusiness to clear land
for their relentless pursuit of profit over people and planet. 

Take Action

Let’s be clear: this is an
outright assault on the Indigenous peoples of the Amazon and local
communities in Indonesia. In
the middle of a pandemic.
For corporate profit. It’s an assault on YOU and me too. 

It’s been proven, time and again,
that forests are our last, best line of defense against the climate
crisis. Rainforests are called the “lungs of our planet” because
they process the massive amounts of carbon pollution in our
atmosphere. But they also keep a whole lot of carbon in their trunks,
branches, and in the ground, where it belongs. So when forests go up
in flames, hundreds and hundreds of years of stored carbon literally
go up in smoke. It’s a double whammy to our climate and to us all.

Right now, Indigenous and local
communities are having their
land and homes stolen and burned; corporations are taking their land
in order to grow Big Agribusiness products like soy, beef and palm
oil. That’s right,
the products you see in your grocery aisles are responsible for the
rainforest fires happening right now.  

Tell
these corporate giants that rainforests are worth more than cookies
and chips.

Take Action Now

The worst part is that the global
brands driving this destruction have already promised to end
deforestation and eliminate the abuse and violation of human rights.
But instead, we’re
witnessing a world, already ravaged by a pandemic, being prepped for
plunder. It’s cynical, it’s opportunistic, and it’s
disgusting.   

With less than 9 years left to avoid
the most catastrophic consequences of the climate crisis, we’ve
reached a critical tipping point. Every acre of rainforest lost now
brings us closer to disaster. We
must keep forests standing NOW.

It’s time these corporations used
their power to help change the course of our future and stop
the destruction, exploitation, and abuse of rainforests, and of the
communities that protect and depend on them.

* Het concept voor dit bericht heb ik gisteren gemaakt en toevallig vannacht na 1.00 u. (CET) op BBC World Service aandacht voor dit probleem in het programma ‘The Real Story’ (de brutaliteit van de BBC, zogenaamd een onafhankelijke zendgemachtigde, die bewezen grote aantallen fake news en andere leugens heeft gebracht….). Men sprak over het probleem obesitas in arme landen en dat obese mensen een groot risico lopen te overlijden als ze het Coronavirus oplopen….. Lullig genoeg viel niet één keer het woord ‘palmolie’, terwijl de verwerking van dit uiterst goedkope maar bijzonder slechte vet op grote schaal in maaltijden, snacks en zaken als chips in arme landen voor een groot deel verantwoordelijk is voor gezondheidsklachten als obesitas….. Ook in ons land wordt palmolie op grote schaal gebruikt, kijk maar eens op de lijsten met ingredienten van koek, snoep en bereide maaltijden, zelfs het ‘duurzame’ Ekoplaza gebruikt deze troep in een aantal voedingsmiddelen…  (wellicht op een later tijdstip nog een wat meer uitgebreid bericht over deze zaak)

Gistermorgen op Radio1 in het NOS Journaal op Radio1 een woordvoerder van Amnesty Nederland, Elke Kuijper, met een zwaar ontluisterend verhaal over Jezidi kinderen die door IS (ISIS) werden ontvoerd en daarna ofwel als meisje werden verkracht en uitgehuwelijkt, dan wel als jongen werden gemarteld, vermoord, of gedwongen als kindsoldaat te vechten, daar hen bij weigering de dood zou wachten…… De jongens en meisjes werden uiteraard gehersenspoeld met het religieuze gif van IS…..

Deze kinderen zijn voor een groot deel terug in de Jezidi gemeenschap waar ze vandaan kwamen, echter de meisjes van weleer die gedwongen een kind hebben gekregen, mogen die kinderen niet houden en hebben afstand moeten doen van hun kind…… Deze gesloten gemeenschap is toch al een probleem voor verkrachte meisjes daar deze niet langer als eerbaar worden gezien…… (zo hoorde ik enige tijd geleden op de BBC World Service) Ook de jongens die als kindsoldaat fungeerden zijn amper of niet welkom, zeker als hun ouders en naaste familie zijn omgekomen…..

Amnesty: crisis bij Yezidi-kinderen

Het westen en dan m.n. de VS (met hulp van NAVO-partners als Nederland) is verantwoordelijk is voor de illegale oorlog tegen Irak en is daarom direct verantwoordelijk is voor het ontstaan van IS, waar de VS zelfs aan heeft meegeholpen, om voor hen de kolen ‘uit het vuur te vechten’, zoals in Irak (als macht tegen de meerderheid aan sjiieten in dat land), Libië en Syrië……. 

Deze kinderen willen dolgraag weg uit Irak en uiteraard zou het beste zijn als het westen dat verantwoordelijk is voor hun ellende, deze jong volwassenen opneemt, echter zoals je al begrijpt, het westen doet net of deze kinderen, zoals de weeskinderen in Griekse vluchtelingenkampen, niet bestaan, waarom zouden ze verantwoordelijk zijn voor iets wat ze zelf veroorzaakt hebben….. ‘Zo is het toch….??’ Walgelijk!!! (één positieve uitzondering en dat is Duitsland, al wenst CSU schoft Seehofer, minister van binnenlandse zaken, er niet meer dan 1.000 op te nemen, terwijl een groot aantal Duitse steden veel verder willen gaan, maar dat heeft deze christen ploert verboden……)

Kuijper van Amnesty stelde nog dat lang niet alle kinderen terug zijn, ofwel die zijn nog in gevangenschap van hun martelbeulen en verkrachters….. Amnesty heeft regelmatig kritiek op de Syrische overheid en dat op basis van leugens, geproduceerd door de geheime diensten van de VS en andere NAVO-lidstaten, vandaar ook waarschijnlijk dat de woordvoerder niets losliet over de verblijfplaats van die laatste Jezidi kinderen: die zitten voor een fiks deel in Idlib en in gebied dat de VS heeft bezet in Syrië, tegen de Iraakse grens, een gebied waar IS wordt beschermd door het leger van de VS (dat daar de olie steelt van het Syrische volk……)….. 

Kijk gezien het voorgaande, zou je als Amnesty toe moeten geven dat het Syrische bewind het grootste gelijk van de wereld heeft met haar wil heel Syrië te bevrijden van de IS terreur en tja dat wil Amnesty niet…….. Terwijl het Syrische volk wordt gestraft door de illegale sancties van het westen tegen hun land, heeft Amnesty het vooral over de ‘vluchtelingen’ in Idlib die het humanitair moeilijk hebben, ‘vluchtelingen’ voor het overgrote deel bestaande uit militanten van terreurgroepen en hun familie…..

Oh en hierbij nogmaals en voor de zoveelste keer: onder Assad leefden alle geloven in harmonie naast elkaar, dat heeft het westen grondig verkloot!!! In de gebieden die werden bevrijd door het reguliere Syrische leger en waarnaar vluchtelingen terugkeerden, leeft men als voorheen weer harmonieus naast elkaar, vergelijk dat eens met Idlib waar het grootste deel van de oorspronkelijke bevolking is gevlucht na de illegale aanval van het reli-fascistische Turkse leger, die daarna de vluchtelingenkampen open hebben gezet zodat o.a. al-Nusra en IS militanten zich weer konden herenigen…………
