De Argentijnse neoliberale (‘conservatieve’) regering Macri (een goede vriend van de wolf in schaapskleren paus Franciscus) heeft na een fikse lobby bij het IMF, haar handtekening gezet onder een lening van 50 miljard dollar van deze neoliberale organisatie, daarmee is het land waarschijnlijk voor decennia in het IMF pak genaaid……
Ofwel: de Argentijnen zullen afhankelijk blijven van het IMF en na een verkiezingsoverwinning van links in de nabije toekomst, zal zo’n regering in feite zo goed als niets kunnen doen voor de grote arme onderlaag in Argentinië. Nog simpeler gezegd: het IMF zal in feite het land leiden, zoals de Griekse regering (van de ‘socialistische’ verrader Tsipras*) is verworden tot een marionet van het IMF en de EU, waar de laatste twee in feite een dictatuur vormen in Griekenland…….
Daarnaast heeft Argentinië ook bij de Wereldbank en Zuid-Amerikaanse banken een lening van bijna 6 miljard dollar afgesloten…….
De VS liet vorige maand weten dat het dolblij was met de lening van het IMF voor Argentinië….. Niet zo vreemd als je ziet dat een links regeringsbeleid in de toekomst onmogelijk werd gemaakt met die lening……. Voorlopig hoeft de CIA geen ‘regime change’ (lees: staatsgreep) na te streven in Argentinië…..
Ongelofelijk, of eigenlijk schandalig dat de consequenties van die IMF lening voor het grootste deel van de Argentijnse bevolking, niet in de reguliere media is beschreven……..
Intussen is de staatsschuld van Argentinië zover opgelopen dat deze niet in afzienbare tijd zal kunnen worden afgelost, waar bovenop de regering Macri in 2016 heeft toegezegd een in feite al afgeschreven schuld uit 2001, alsnog te zullen voldoen, alsof dit in het belang is van het Argentijnse volk……..
* Al moet ik zeggen dat Tsipras waarschijnlijk is gewaarschuwd dat wanneer zijn regering niet akkoord ging, er een militaire staatsgreep zou plaatsvinden door NAVO leider VS en haar hielenlikkende NAVO lidstaten in de EU….. Als dat inderdaad zo is, had Tsipras moeten aftreden en de zaak in de media moeten gooien…… Zeker nadat hij al wist dat de armoede in Griekenland enorm groot was en velen niet eens de beschikking hadden over kanker medicatie, of pijnstillers bij chronische pijnklachten……. Aan de hiervoor beschreven situatie in Griekenland is intussen niets veranderd….. Bovendien zijn de Griekse staatseigendommen voor 99 jaar (!!!) overgedragen aan het Europees Stabiliteitsmechanisme (ESM), dat naar goeddunken deze eigendommen voor een appel en ei kan verkopen aan buitenlandse investeerders…….
Brasscheck TV bracht een video waarin nog eens een aantal feiten over de aanslagen op de Twin Towers de revue passeren.
Men spreekt in deze video van de ‘strategy of tension’, zorgen voor een fikse aanslag en de schuld bij anderen leggen, ofwel een false flag operatie om het volk wijs te maken dat er oorlog moet worden gevoerd, niet alleen in het belang van het militair-industrieel complex, maar ook van de overheid en de geheime diensten, die alle drie welvaren bij de zogenaamde oorlog tegen terreur: -de winsten van het voornoemde complex oppompen, -het volk bang maken zodat ze alle vertrouwen in de regering stellen dan wel houden, -haatzaaien tegen regimes die de VS niet welgevallig zijn, -een ‘legitimatie’ om oorlog te voeren in landen waar de VS (en de rest van het westen) helemaal niets te zoeken heeft en tot slot -het uitbreiden van de bevoegdheden van de geheime diensten, natuurlijk aangevuld met een groter budget……… Dat laatste, flink grotere budgetten, geldt uiteraard ook voor het Pentagon.
Zie de video en laat je andermaal verbazen over het uiterst ongeloofwaardige verhaal van de VS overheid aangaande die aanslagen, het 9/11 verhaal betreffende de voorbereiding, de daders en de regie over die aanslagen…… Zo blijkt dat Al Qaida, door de VS verantwoordelijk gehouden voor de 9/11 aanslagen, destijds tjokvol geheimagenten zat uit de VS, S-A, Israël en Egypte…….

Beste bezoeker, ben het zelf niet helemaal eens met de kop boven dit bericht, immers dat zou er op kunnen duiden dat de Russen inderdaad de Skripals, een voormalig geheim agent en een ander stel (kilometers verderop) in Groot-Brittannië, hebben vergiftigd……
Het verhaal dat de nu als dader aangeduide ‘Russen’, te weten Boshirov en Petrov, ‘van een Russische geheime dienst’ (eerst alleen door May zo aangeduid en niet door de politie herhaald) de Skripals hebben vergiftigd, is te zot voor woorden. De Russische geheime diensten als FSB en GRU (in Nederland aangeduid als GROe) zijn niet het equivalent van de AIVD of de MIVD, denk je nu echt dat leden van de Russische geheime dienst dan een gifstof zouden gebruiken die in de voormalige Sovjet Unie werd ontwikkeld? Genoeg andere stoffen die bijvoorbeeld naar de VS of GB zelf zouden kunnen wijzen.
Ook het klungelige gedrag wat Craig Murray in het hieronder opgenomen artikel, oorspronkelijk van zijn site noemt*, is al een bewijs dat het onmogelijk de goed georganiseerde Russische geheime dienst kan zijn geweest. Om het anders te zeggen: deze diensten staan bepaald niet bekend als organisaties met louter klungels….. Bovendien vond e.e.a. plaats terwijl er al een heksenjacht op Rusland bezig was en dat land zonder enig bewijs wordt beschuldigd van de meest waanzinnige acties, om er een paar te noemen: de manipulatie van de VS presidentsverkiezingen, de Brexit en het onafhankelijkheidsreferendum in Catalonië……. Beste bezoeker dat was het nog niet: nee Rusland zou dit ook nog eens hebben gedaan in de aanloop van het WK voetbal, waarbij het bepaald geen rel als deze kon gebruiken…..
In een bericht van vorige week meldde ik al over de twee foto’s van de zogenaamde Russische geheime dienst medewerkers**, waar de tijdcode (tot op de seconde) dat elk van hen door een douane gang moesten lopen, op de foto dezelfde was….. Ofwel deze ‘geheim agenten’ werden op de foto’s gescheiden van elkaar getoond, terwijl ze gezien de tijdcode op die foto’s, tot op de seconde wel op dezelfde plek waren…… ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Foutje in de beeldmanipulatie moet je maar denken…….
Waar Murray niet over spreekt is het stilzwijgen van de Skripals, waarom hebben vader en/of dochter nog steeds niet met de pers gesproken, dezelfde pers die vanaf het begin angstvallig door de Britten uit de buurt van de Skripals werd gehouden…….
Nee, wat mij betreft is de zaak zo klaar als een klontje, dit is een ‘false flag’ operatie, die door verschillende partijen (klungelig) kan zijn opgezet (hoogstwaarschijnlijk met hulp van de CIA, dat ‘nog wel eens’ grote flaters begaat, zoals [te] opvallend veel sporen achterlaten…). Zo hebben de VS, Groot-Brittannië, Oekraïne, de Baltische Staten er alle belang bij Rusland zoveel mogelijk te demoniseren, zodat er met een beroep op de ‘agressie van de Russen’, nog meer troepen kunnen worden gestationeerd langs de Russische grens…… Zoals keer op keer blijkt: alles wat daarbij kan helpen, wordt uit de kast getrokken….. Buiten overheden heeft ook het militair-industrieel complex belang bij zoveel mogelijk spanningen op de wereld, niet alleen tussen het oosten en het westen, maar ook tussen het noorden en het zuiden, neem de grootschalige terreur van de VS (en de NAVO) in het Midden-Oosten, Afrika, Azië en Latijns Amerika………………..

Skripals – The Mystery Deepens

September 07, 2018 “Information Clearing House” – The time that “Boshirov and Petrov” were allegedly in Salisbury carrying out the attack is all entirely within the period the Skripals were universally reported to have left their home with their mobile phones switched off. A key hole in the British government’s account of the Salisbury poisonings has been plugged – the lack of any actual suspects. And it has been plugged in a way that appears broadly convincing – these two men do appear to have traveled to Salisbury at the right time to have been involved. But what has not been established is the men’s identity and that they are agents of the Russian state, or just what they did in Salisbury. If they are Russian agents, they are remarkably amateur assassins. Meanwhile the new evidence throws the previously reported timelines into confusion – and demolishes the theories put out by “experts” as to why the Novichok dose was not fatal.
This BBC report gives a very useful timeline summary of events. At 09.15 on Sunday 4 March the Skripals’ car was seen on CCTV driving through three different locations in Salisbury. Both Skripals had switched off their mobile phones and they remained off for over four hours, which has baffled geo-location. There is no CCTV footage that indicates the Skripals returning to their home. It has therefore always been assumed that they last touched the door handle around 9am. But the Metropolitan Police state that Boshirov and Petrov did not arrive in Salisbury until 11.48 on the day of the poisoning. That means that they could not have applied a nerve agent to the Skripals’ doorknob before noon at the earliest. But there has never been any indication that the Skripals returned to their home after noon on Sunday 4 March. If they did so, they and/or their car somehow avoided all CCTV cameras. Remember they were caught by three CCTV cameras on leaving, and Borishov and Petrov were caught frequently on CCTV on arriving. The Skripals were next seen on CCTV at 13.30, driving down Devizes road. After that their movements were clearly witnessed or recorded until their admission to hospital. So even if the Skripals made an “invisible” trip home before being seen on Devizes Road, that means the very latest they could have touched the doorknob is 13.15. The longest possible gap between the novichok being placed on the doorknob and the Skripals touching it would have been one hour and 15 minutes. Do you recall all those “experts” leaping in to tell us that the “ten times deadlier than VX” nerve agent was not fatal because it had degraded overnight on the doorknob? Well that cannot be true. The time between application and contact was between a minute and (at most) just over an hour on this new timeline. In general it is worth observing that the Skripals, and poor Dawn Sturgess and Charlie Rowley, all managed to achieve almost complete CCTV invisibility in their widespread movements around Salisbury at the key times, while in contrast “Petrov and Boshirov” managed to be frequently caught in high quality all the time during their brief visit. This is especially remarkable in the case of the Skripals’ location around noon on 4 March. The government can only maintain that they returned home at this time, as they insist they got the nerve agent from the doorknob. But why was their car so frequently caught on CCTV leaving, but not at all returning? It appears very much more probable that they came into contact with the nerve agent somewhere else, while they were out.
“Boshirov and Petrov” plainly are of interest in this case. But only Theresa May stated they were Russian agents: the police did not, and stated that they expected those were not their real identities. We do not know who Boshirov and Petrov were. It appears very likely their appearance was to do with the Skripals on that day. But they may have been meeting them, outside the home. The evidence points to that, rather than doorknobs. Such a meeting might explain why the Skripals had turned off their mobile phones to attempt to avoid surveillance. It is also telling the police have pressed no charges against them in the case of Dawn Sturgess, which would be manslaughter at least if the government version is true. If “Boshirov and Petrov” are secret agents, their incompetence is astounding. They used public transport rather than a vehicle and left the clearest possible CCTV footprint. They failed in their assassination attempt. They left traces of novichok everywhere and could well have poisoned themselves, and left the “murder weapon” lying around to be found. Their timings in Salisbury were extremely tight – and British Sunday rail service dependent. There are other possibilities of who “Boshirov and Petrov” really are, of which Ukrainian is the obvious one. One thing I discovered when British Ambassador to Uzbekistan was that there had been a large Ukrainian ethnic group of scientists working at the Soviet chemical weapon testing facility there at Nukus. There are many other possibilities. Yesterday’s revelations certainly add to the amount we know about the Skripal event. But they raise as many new questions as they give answers. Tyler Durden publiceerde vorige week zaterdag een artikel op Zero Hedge over ‘Russia-gate’, althans hoe men de operatie van de FBI inkleedde om een oud medewerker van die dienst, gevangen gehouden in Iran, vrij te krijgen……
Daarvoor heeft de FBI de Russische oligarch Oleg Deripaska, een figuur die in nauw contact staat met Putin, in de arm genomen en hem gevraagd 25 miljoen dollar beschikbaar te stellen om de oud-FBI agent Robert Levinson vrij te krijgen. Levinson werkte voor de CIA toen hij in 2007 werd gearresteerd in Iran…..
Deripaska, waarvan wordt gezegd dat hij fungeerde als contact tussen Trump en Putin via de voormalige Rusland ‘connector’ Paul Manafort, stelt dat hij van 2009 tot de presidentsverkiezingen van 2016 samenwerkte met de VS regering….
Uiteindelijk ging de operatie niet door daar buitenlandse zaken o.l.v. Hillary Clinton zich haastig terugtrok uit de deal met Iran die erop gericht was Levinson vrij te krijgen…..

Russian Oligarch And Putin Pal Admits To Collusion, Secret Meetings
Russian Oligarch Oleg Deripaska, a close associate of Vladimir Putin, has gone on record with The Hill‘s John Solomon – admitting to colluding with Americans leading up to the 2016 US election, except it might not be what you’re thinking.
Deripaska, rumored to be Donald Trump’s “back channel” to Putin via the Russian’s former association with Paul Manafort, says he “colluded” with the US Governmentbetween 2009 and 2016.
In 2009, when Robert Mueller was running the FBI, the agency asked Deripaska to spend $25 million of his own money to bankroll an FBI-supervised operation to rescue a retired FBI agent – Robert Levinson, who was kidnapped in 2007 while working on a 2007 CIA contract in Iran. This in and of itself is more than a bit strange.
Deripaska agreed, however the Obama State Department, headed by Hillary Clinton, scuttled a last-minute deal with Iran before Levinson could be released. He hasn’t been heard from since.
FBI agents courted Deripaska in 2009 in a series of secret hotel meetings in Paris; Vienna; Budapest, Hungary, and Washington. Agents persuaded the aluminum industry magnate to underwrite the mission. The Russian billionaire insisted the operation neither involve nor harm his homeland. -The Hill

Steele, Ohr and the 2016 US Election
As the New York Times frames it, distancing Deripaska from the FBI (no mention of the $25 million rescue effort, for example), the Russian aluminum magnate was just one of several Putin-linked Oligarchs the FBI tried to flip.
The attempt to flip Mr. Deripaska was part of a broader, clandestine American effort to gauge the possibility of gaining cooperation from roughly a half-dozen of Russia’s richest men, nearly all of whom, like Mr. Deripaska, depend on President Vladimir V. Putin to maintain their wealth, the officials said. –NYT
Central to the recruiting effort were two central players in the Trump-Russia investigation; twice-demoted DOJ #4 officialBruce Ohr and Christopher Steele – the author of the largely unverified “Steele Dossier.”
Steele, a longtime associate of Ohr’s, worked for Deripaska beginning in 2012 researching a business rival – work which would evolve to the point where the former British spy was interfacing with the Obama administration on his behalf – resulting in Deripaska regaining entry into the United States, where he visited numerous times between 2009 and 2017.
The State Department tried to keep him from getting a U.S. visa between 2006 and 2009 because they believed he had unspecified connections to criminal elements in Russia as he consolidated power in the aluminum industry. Deripaska has denied those allegations…
Whatever the case, it is irrefutable that after he began helping the FBI, Deripaska regained entry to the United States. And he visited numerous times between 2009 and 2017, visa entry records show. –The Hill
Deripaska is now banned from the United States as one of several Russians sanctioned in April in response to alleged 2016 election meddling.
In a September 2016 meeting, Deripaska told FBI agents that it was “preposterous” that Paul Manafort was colluding with Russia to help Trump win the 2016 election. This, despite the fact that Deripaska and Manafort’s business relationship “ended in lawsuits”, per The Hill – and the Russian would have every reason to throw Manafort under the bus if he wanted some revenge on his old associate.
So the FBI and DOJ secretly collaborated with Trump’s alleged backchannel over a seven-year period, starting with Levinson, then on Deripaska’s Visa, and finally regarding whether Paul Manafort was an intermediary to Putin. Deripaska vehemently denies the assertion, and even took out newspaper advertisements in the US last year volunteering to testify to Congress, refuting an AP report that he and Manafort secretly worked on a plan to “greatly benefit the Putin government” a decade ago.
Soon after the advertisements ran, representatives for the House and Senate Intelligence Committees called a Washington-based lawyer for Mr. Deripaska, Adam Waldman, inquiring about taking his client up on the offer to testify, Mr. Waldman said in an interview.
What happened after that has been in dispute. Mr. Waldman, who stopped working for Mr. Deripaska after the sanctions were levied, said he told the committee staff that his client would be willing to testify without any grant of immunity, but would not testify about any Russian collusion with the Trump campaign because “he doesn’t know anything about that theory and actually doesn’t believe it occurred.” –NYT
In short, Deripaska wants it known that he worked with the FBI and DOJ, and that he had nothing to do with the Steele dossier.
Today, Deripaska is banned anew from the United States, one of several Russians sanctioned in April by the Trump administration as a way to punish Putin for 2016 election meddling. But he wants to be clear about a few things, according to a statement provided by his team. First, he did collude with Americans in the form of voluntarily assisting and meeting with the FBI, the DOJ and people such as Ohr between 2009 and 2016.
He also wants Americans to know he did not cooperate or assist with Steele’s dossier, and he tried to dispel the FBI notion that Russia and the Trump campaign colluded during the 2016 election. –The Hill
Interestingly, Steele’s dossier which was partially funded by the Clinton campaign, relied on senior Kremlin officials.
It would be most helpful if the Department of Justice could please investigate and then prosecute themselves and/or members of the previous administration, so that journalists like John Solomon, Sara Carter, Luke Rosiak, Chuck Ross and others don’t have to continue to break stories that are seemingly ignored by all but a handful of Congressional investigators.
In het hieronder opgenomen artikel van Caitlin Johnstone, o.a. gepubliceerd op Medium(.com) en Anti-Media, stelt zij dat de reguliere (massa-) media van de VS eindelijk wakker zijn geworden en aandacht besteden aan de vreselijke oorlog van de Saoedische coalitie (inclusief de steun en onmisbare hulp van de VS en GB) tegen de sjiitische bevolking van Jemen….. Een bevolking die ‘godzijdank’ worden gesteund door de de Houthi’s, een uiterst functionele strijdgroep, die ingreep nadat IS en Al Qaida de sjiitische bevolking aanvielen, zelfs in moskeeën……. Deze 2 extreme terreurgroepen kregen in Jemen van de opgestapte president (onder druk van Saoedi-Arabië weer president) al-Hadi onderdak aangeboden…….
Jammer dat Johnstone het woord ‘genocide’ uit de weg gaat, immers daar is op zeker sprake van, een genocide waar de wereld voor het overgrote deel alweer geen aandacht aan schenkt, althans totdat de Saoedische coalitie toegaf een bus met kinderen onder vuur te hebben genomen, om wraak te nemen voor een Saoedische man die omkwam bij een raketaanval van de Houthi’s……. Al spreken ook die media niet over een genocide, ondanks alle bombardementen, honger, cholera en difterie (allen oorzaak van de Saoedische terreur), die al aan duizenden het leven heeft gekost……
Nu is de verontwaardiging groot, zelfs bij MSNBC, die zoals Johnstone in haar vorig artikel stelde in 1 jaar tijd niet één keer aandacht schonk aan de smerige, door de VS gesteunde en gefaciliteerde oorlog tegen het Jemenitische volk, maar wel 455 keer aan Stormy Daniels……* Zonder steun van de VS en GB zou Saoedi-Arabië de oorlog tegen de Houthi’s niet kunnen voeren, zo doet de VS de coördinatie van de bombardementen, tankt het de straaljagers en bommenwerpers van de Saoedische terreurcoalitie (inclusief Marokko**) in de lucht af, zodat ze zo ‘efficiënt’ mogelijk kunnen bombarderen…..
Doelen van deze moorddadige coalitie: huizenblokken, ziekenhuizen, scholen, energiecentrales, waterbedrijven, huwelijks- en begrafenisceremonies en de infrastructuur inclusief de riolering….. Door het laatst genoemde is er zelfs de eerdere genoemde grote cholera uitbraak ontstaan in Jemen, die nog maandelijks honderden doden eist….. Zelfs een ziekenhuis van Artsen Zonder Grenzen (MSF) speciaal voor cholerapatiënten werd door de Saoedische coalitie plat gebombardeerd, voordat de eerste patiënten konden worden behandeld………. (hoeveel bewijs wil je nog hebben dat de Saoedische terreurcoalitie, inclusief de VS en GB, bezig is met een genocide??)
Intussen is er ook de al eerder genoemde difterie uitbraak in Jemen, dit nog naast de hongersnood die intussen al meer dan 2 jaar aanhoudt en waarvoor vorig jaar nog een actie werd gevoerd in Nederland…….. Over Nederland gesproken, ik moet zeggen dat de media hier wel behoorlijk lauw hebben gereageerd op de Saoedische aanval tegen een schoolbus en dat op een drukke markt……. Als Assad iets dergelijks had gedaan had het land op z’n kop gestaan en waren er al vragen gesteld in de Kamer……. Terwijl de keren dat de hysterie toeslaat over het gedrag ‘van Assad’, die opwinding keer op keer onterecht blijkt te zijn, zoals zelfs bevestigd door VN onderzoek, echter dit verandert niets aan de hysterie, men blijft ‘gewoon’ volhouden dat Assad zijn eigen volk afslacht, zonder ook maar een greintje aan bewijs te leveren……..

Mainstream Media Finally Concedes Defeat on Yemen, Ends Blackout Of Coverage
(CJ Opinion) — Last month, an article by Fair.org went viral in republications by popular alternative media outlets ranging from Salon to Zero Hedge to Alternet to Truthdig, among many others. The article was initially titled “ACTION ALERT: It’s Been Over a Year Since MSNBC Has Mentioned US War in Yemen”, but many subsequent republications went with variations on the more attention-grabbing headline, “MSNBC has done 455 Stormy Daniels segments in the last year — but none on U.S. war in Yemen”.
The centerpiece of the article was the following graphic, which I saw shared on its own many times in my social media feeds:

This is of course outrageous, but because of how media coverage works, mainstream attention was never drawn to the problem. It hasn’t been a total media blackout, but because it only turns up in mainstream media reports every once in a while with little if any emphasis being placed on who is behind the devastation, it occupies a very peripheral place in western consciousness. The average American would probably be able to tell you that some parts of their government appear to be concerned about Russia, Syria, Iran and North Korea, because those rival nations have been the subject of intense mass media coverage, but if you asked them about Yemen you’d likely be told something like “I think there’s some kind of humanitarian crisis there?”, if anything.
This has all changed in the last few days. Suddenly, the atrocities being inflicted upon the people of Yemen are being pushed into mainstream attention by the mass media outlets which have been ignoring them for more than three years. The Washington Post (WaPo) editorial board published an op-ed titled “End U.S. support for this misbegotten and unwinnable war”. CNN did some actual, real journalism for a change with a viral exclusive documenting which American war profiteers were behind some of the more devastating Saudi bombings. And yes, MSNBC finally did cover the violence in Yemen, breaking its year-long silence to report on a US-supplied bomb which killed 40 children with such urgent condemnation of those responsible you’d never know they’d been consistently ignoring such incidents which have been going on for years.
Now politicians and celebrities everywhere are shoving the horror of their government facilitating the slaughter of innocents into mainstream attention.
What’s interesting here is that nothing at all has changed except for the coverage. US-supplied bombs have been dropping on marketplaces, hospitals and funerals and slaughtering civilians in far more deadly incidents for years, and the US has also been providing extensive assistance to Saudi airstrikes, as well as attacking Yemeni targets directly. The only thing that has changed is that now it’s being reported with an urgency and volume that is appropriate for such a horrific incident instead of an occasional low-profile mention with little or no mention of responsibility.
Nobody with their eyes open believes that the mainstream media have just suddenly developed a conscience and now deeply care about the mass murder of Middle Eastern civilians. So why the change? If you ask some of the Trump supporters I’ve seen responding to the shift, it’s because their president can now be unfairly blamed for a military campaign which began long before he took office. But that doesn’t really hold water, does it? I mean, the aforementioned year in which MSNBC didn’t cover Yemen took place entirely during this administration, and every American with cable TV knows that MSNBC markets itself as the anti-Trump network. If they’d wanted to use Yemen as another angle from which to criticize this administration they would have done so, instead of not doing so at all. The entirety of mainstream media have been grossly neglecting this issue up until the last week despite having every opportunity to condemn Trump for it.
For the record, while we’re on the subject, I personally don’t much care if Trump gets all the blame for the Yemen catastrophe at this point. I’ve spent 2017 and 2018 fighting the insane corporate liberal notion that all American depravity began in January of last year, but at this point I’m happy with literally anything that just ends the death and devastation. A year into the war, the 30-year CIA veteran Bruce Riedel said that “if the United States of America and the United Kingdom tonight told King Salman that this war has to end, it would end tomorrow, because the Royal Saudi Air Force cannot operate without American and British support.” If using this as an opportunity to attack Trump creates the necessary political pressure to end the bombings, blockades, starvation and disease that is killing untold thousands of Yemeni civilians, then fine, whatever, I’m all for it.
But again, from what I’m seeing right now I don’t believe that this is about Trump. Not directly anyway. From what I can see right now, I think what we are witnessing is a clear instance in which alternative media successfully caused the establishment to lose control of the narrative on an important issue.
In the US, criticism of Saudi Arabia is nearly as taboo as criticism of Israel. As we saw explained in a leaked State Department memo last year, it is standard US policy to use human rights abuses as a bludgeon with which to attack rival governments, while sweeping the atrocities committed by allies under the rug. Because of its lucrative petrodollar deal with the US, and because its opaque and unaccountable monarchy makes it capable of nefarious maneuvers to advance geopolitical agendas that an ostensible democracy would have a hard time getting away with, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is one of America’s most important allies. And the plutocrat-owned media, whose controllers have a vested interest in protecting the establishment upon which their kingdoms are built, consistently fall right in line with that same State Department policy.
This, and the fact that the control of a key strategic region is at stake, is why we’ve been seeing the Saudi war crimes in Yemen and the US facilitation thereof downplayed for years by the mass media. And they would surely remain downplayed indefinitely were it possible.
But it wasn’t possible. The story kept getting pushed toward mainstream consciousness year after year, and eventually the fact that an outlet which upholds itself as the flag bearer of Trump’s opposition has been completely ignoring this administration’s facilitation of war crimes was made viral. At a certain point a Dem-voting audience which is being told day in and day out that Trump presents a unique and unprecedented level of danger to the world will lose trust in the outlets which market themselves to that demographic if they refuse to make a big deal about the fact that this administration is helping tyrants murder busloads of children.
For this reason, western mainstream media have been forced to finally report on the cruelty being inflicted upon the people of Yemen by Saudi Arabia and its allies in order to avoid losing credibility. The story got out, and the story about their lack of coverage of that story got out, and now they’re all reporting on it like they’ve been doing so this entire time. Which, if it continues, will make it very difficult for the US/UK/Saudi war machine to retain the consent of the governed for its mass slaughter.
In my opinion, we can safely call this a win for alternative media. The voices who aren’t beholden to the empire and its geopolitical agendas refused to let this story die, and eventually succeeded in overtaking the dominant narrative. Not because media-controlling oligarchs like Brian L Roberts and Jeff Bezos gave them permission to, but because unauthorized truth was spoken and carried by many ordinary people into mainstream consciousness via Facebook shares, Twitter retweets and speaking out loud and proud wherever possible. A people’s information battle was fought and won by the people.
If things go as I am hoping they will go, we will see more and more such populist hijackings of dominant narratives in the future, and ultimately a failure of the oligarchs to continue manufacturing consent for their omnicidal, ecocidal, Orwellian agendas. We will have to be aggressive, we will have to be creative, and we will have to be interesting enough to catch the eye of the casual citizenry, but the fact that trust in the mass media is at an all-time low and our ability to network and share information is at an all-time high combines with the fact that we have truth on our side to create some very exciting possibilities. I find this all very encouraging.

Door de weigering Assange te verdedigen, tonen de reguliere media hun ware gezicht, aldus de kop van een artikel van Caitlin Johnstone op Media.com en hieronder overgenomen van Anti-Media. Een top advocaat van de New York Times (NYT), David McCraw waarschuwde een zaal vol rechters dat de vervolging van WikiLeaks journalist Julian Assange een gevaarlijk precedent zal scheppen en zou kunnen eindigen met het beschadigen van de reguliere (massa-) media….. (CJ Opinion) — Last Tuesday a top lawyer for the New York Times named David McCraw warned a room full of judges that the prosecution of Julian Assange for WikiLeaks publications would set a very dangerous precedent which would end up hurting mainstream news media outlets like NYT, the Washington Post, and other outlets which publish secret government documents.
“I think the prosecution of him would be a very, very bad precedent for publishers,” McCraw said. “From that incident, from everything I know, he’s sort of in a classic publisher’s position and I think the law would have a very hard time drawing a distinction between The New York Times and WikiLeaks.”
Do you know where I read about this? Not in the New York Times.
“Curiously, as of this writing, McCraw’s words have found no mention in the Times itself,” activist Ray McGovern wrote for the alternative media outlet Consortium News. “In recent years, the newspaper has shown a marked proclivity to avoid printing anything that might risk its front row seat at the government trough.”
So let’s unpack that a bit. It is now public knowledge that the Ecuadorian government is actively seeking to turn Assange over to be arrested by the British government. This was initially reported by RT, then independently confirmed by The Intercept, and is today full mainstream public knowledge being reported by mainstream outlets like CNN. It is also public knowledge that Assange’s asylum was granted by the Ecuadorian government due to a feared attempt to extradite him to the United States and prosecute him for WikiLeaks publications. Everyone from President Donald Trump to Attorney General Jeff Sessions to now-Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to ranking House Intelligence Committee member Adam Schiff to Democratic members of the US Senate have made public statements clearly indicating that there is a US government interest in getting Assange out of the shelter of political asylum and into prison.
The New York Times is aware of this, and as evidenced by McCraw’s comments it is also aware of the dangerous precedent that such a prosecution would set for all news media publications. The New York Times editorial staff are aware that the US government prosecuting a publisher for publishing important documents that had been hidden from the public would make it impossible for the Times to publish the same kind of material without fear of the same legal repercussions. It is aware that the maneuvers being taken against Assange present a very real existential threat to the possibility of real journalism and holding power to account.
You might think, therefore, that we’d be seeing a flood of analyses and op-eds from the New York Times aggressively condemning any movement toward the prosecution of Julian Assange. You might expect all media outlets in America to be constantly sounding the alarm about this, especially since the threat is coming from the Trump administration, which outlets like the New York Timesare always eager to circulate dire warnings about. You might expect every talking head on CNN and NBC to be ominously citing Assange as the clearest and most egregious case yet of Trump’s infamous “war on the free press”. Leaving aside the issues of morality, compassion and human rights that come with Assange’s case, you might think that if for no other reason than sheer unenlightened self interest they’d be loudly and aggressively defending him.
And yet, they don’t. And the fact that they don’t shows us what they really are.

Theoretically, journalism is meant to help create an informed populace and hold power to account. That’s why it’s the only profession explicitly named in the United States Constitution, and why freedom of the press has enjoyed such constitutional protections throughout US history. The press today is failing to protect Julian Assange because it has no intention of creating an informed populace or holding power to account.
This is not to suggest the existence of some grand, secret conspiracy among US journalists. It’s just a simple fact that plutocrats own most of the US news media and hire the people who run it, which has naturally created an environment where the best way to advance one’s career is to remain perpetually inoffensive to the establishment upon which plutocrats have built their respective empires. This is why you see ambitious reporters on Twitter falling all over themselves to be the first with a pithy line that advances establishment agendas whenever breaking news presents an opportunity to do so; they are aware that their social media presence is being assessed by potential employers and allies for establishment loyalism. This also why so many of those aspiring journalists attack Assange and WikiLeaks whenever possible.
“Everyone hoping to gain admission to the cultural elite must now strenuously cultivate their social media so as to avoid controversy,” journalist Michael Tracey observed recently. “Eventually they will internalize controversy-avoidance as a virtue, not a societal imposition. Result: a more boring, conformist elite culture.”
A great way for an aspiring journalist to avoid controversy is to never, ever defend Assange or WikiLeaks on social media or in any media outlet, and certainly under no circumstances allow yourself to look like the sort of journo who might someday publish the sorts of materials that WikiLeaks publishes. An excellent way to prove yourself is to become yet another author of yet another one of the many, many smear pieces that have been written about Assange and WikiLeaks.
Mainstream media outlets and those who thrive within them have no intention of rocking the boat and losing their hard-earned privilege and access. Conservative mass media will continue to defend the US president, and liberal media will continue to defend the CIA and the FBI. Both will help advance war, ecocide, military expansionism, surveillance and police militarization, and none will leak anything that is damaging to the power structures that they have learned to serve. They will remain innocuous, uncontroversial defenders of the rich and powerful at all times.
Meanwhile, alternative media outlets are defending Assange ferociously. Just today I’ve seen articles from Consortium News, World Socialist Website, Disobedient Media, Antiwar and Common Dreamsdecrying the persecution of the most important government transparency advocate living today. Alternative media outlets and independent writers aren’t bound by establishment servitude, so the value of WikiLeaks is clear as day. One’s eyes are only blinded to the pernicious behaviors of power when power is signing one’s paycheck.
Mass media outlets in America and around the world have fully discredited themselves with their failure to defend a publisher who actually holds power to account and brings facts into the light of truth to create an informed populace. Every day that goes by where they don’t unequivocally condemn any attempt to prosecute Assange is another day in the pile of evidence that corporate media outlets serve power and not truth. Their silence is a tacit admission that they are nothing other than stenographers and propagandists for the most powerful forces on earth.

America Bombs, Europe Gets the Refugees. That’s Evil
The US Government (with France and a few other US allies) bombs Libya, Syria, etc.; and the US regime refuses to accept any of the resulting refugees — the burdens from which are now breaking the EU, and the EU is sinking in economic competition against America’s international corporations. America’s corporations remain blithely unscathed by not only the refugees that are breaking up the EU, but also by the EU’s economic sanctions against Russia, Iran, and other allies of governments that the US regime is trying to overthrow in its constant invasions and coups. The US Government makes proclamations such as “Assad must go!” — but by what right is the US Government involved, at all, in determining whom the leaders in Syria will be? Syria never invaded the US In fact, Syria never invaded anywhere (except, maybe, Israel, in order to respond against Israel’s invasions). Furthermore, all polling, even by Western pollsters, shows that Bashar al-Assad would easily win any free and fair election in Syria. The US Government claims to support democracy, but it does the exact opposite whenever they want to get rid of a Government that is determined to protect that nation’s sovereignty over its own national territory, instead of to yield it to the US regime, or to any other foreigners. The US regime has virtually destroyed the United Nations.
The US regime, and its allies, have used the Muslim Brotherhood, in order to recruit into Syria the 100,000+ jihadists from around the world to fight to overthrow Syria’s secular Government. Even the BBC’s 13 December 2013 detailed report, “Guide to the Syrian rebels”, made clear that the “Syrian Rebels” were, in fact, overwhelmingly jihadist and largely recruited from abroad. These were hardly democrats. Even a Tony-Blair-founded anti-Assad NGO’s study concluded that “Sixty per cent of major Syrian rebel groups are Islamist extremists” (not just “Islamists” but “Islamist extremists”) and yet the Blair outfit still supported the overthrow of the committed secularist Assad (just as Blair had earlier participated himself in the US regime’s destruction of Iraq).
America is no actual ally of Europe. The Marshall Plan is long-since finished, and America has been taken over by psychopaths who are Europe’s main enemies, not Europe’s friends, at all. (They’re friends of some European aristocracies, but not of any European public, not of even merely one public.)
Iran and Russia should be Europe’s allies — they didn’t cause any of Europe’s problems. America did. America’s intelligence agencies tapped (and probably still tap) the phones of Germany’s Chancellor and practically everybody else, and yet the US regime has the gall to blame Russia for interfering in the political affairs of European countries. If that isn’t the pot calling the kettle ‘black’, then what is? If anything, the EU’s sanctions should be against doing business with American firms — not against doing business with Russian firms, or with Iranian firms. European politicians who support the US support Europe’s top enemy.
Russia is, itself, a European country, which additionally traverses much of Asia, but America is no European country, at all, and yet now is so brazen as to demand that Europe must do America’s bidding — not only against Russia, but also against the Sauds’ main target, which is Iran (the same main target as Israel’s).
Why are Europeans not asking themselves: Who is Europe’s enemy in all of this — what causes this refugee-crisis? The refugees certainly didn’t.
It’s not Russia, and it’s not Iran, and it’s not China; it is America — which is the true enemy of them all, and of us all — including even of the American people ourselves, because the US Government no longer actually represents the American people. These invasions, and military occupations, and coups, do not serve America’s public; they serve America’s aristocracy. The US is no longer (if it ever was) a democracy. The US Government now is the US aristocracy — not the US public. It’s a dictatorship. And, it has the type of ‘news’media that any dictatorship has.
On June 30th, the US aristocracy’s New York Times headlined “Bavaria: Affluent, Picturesque — and Angry”, and reported “the new angry center of Europe, the latest battleground for populists eager to bring down both Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany and the idea of a liberal Europe itself.” Their elitist (pro-US-aristocracy) ‘reporter’ (actually propagandist) interviewed ‘experts’ who condemn Europe’s politicians that are trying to assuage their own public’s anger against the EU’s open-door policy regarding this flood of refugees from what is actually, for the most part, the US regime’s (and its allies’) bombings — air-support of the boots-on-the-ground jihadist mercenaries. The combination of this air-support, and of the jihadists, has been the backbone of the US-Saudi-Israeli effort to overthrow and replace Syria’s Government.
Libya was a similar case, but was only friendly toward Russia, not allied with Russia, as both Syria and Iran are.
So: the Times was secretly (and they didn’t include any links to help online readers know who was actually funding their ‘experts’, at all) pumping NATO propaganda, as if it were authentic and neutral news-reporting, instead of craven service to the US aristocracy that controls the US Government and its NATO military alliance. This is the New York Times, itself, that is “rewriting recent history.” That’s how they do it — constantly (as ‘news’).

Though the Sauds, and also Israel’s aristocracy, are mainly anti-Iran, the US aristocracy are obsessed with their goal of conquering Russia. Since Iran, and Syria, are both allied with Russia, the US regime is trying to overthrow those Russia-allied Governments, before going in for the kill, against Russia itself. That’s what all of these economic sanctions, and the bombings and the backing of Al Qaeda for overthrowing Syria’s Government, are really all about.
Is this what today’s Europeans want their Governments to be doing — and doing it for that reason, the US aristocracy’s reason? Despite the huge harms it is certainly causing to Europeans?
As the world’s greatest blogger, the former UK Ambassador (but too honest to stay in that business) Craig Murray, recently said under the headline, “No Trump, No Clinton, No NATO”: “The destruction of Libya’s government and infrastructure directly caused the Mediterranean boat migrant crisis, which has poisoned the politics of much of the European Union.” But, of course, the US regime and its allies have also destroyed other countries than that — and thus caused refugees to Europe from many nations. And, finally, even the US Government (though as quietly as possible) acknowledges that it has destroyed Afghanistan. Ironically, that’s the very nation where America and the Sauds, in 1979, had started their war against all Governments that won’t buckle to them.
Furthermore, the US regime intends to keep it up. In case a reader might happen to think that, surely, the US regime and its allies are going to quit this rousing of hornets’ nests; Sharmine Narwani, who is one of the very few non-“embedded” journalists who reports in The West about — and (which the mainstream ones don’t) from — the war in Syria, headlined, on June 25th, “Are al-Qaeda Affiliates Fighting Alongside US Rebels in Syria’s South?” and she found that the answer to this question is a resounding yes:
Despite its US and UN designation as a terrorist organization, Nusra [Al Qaeda’s main name in Syria] has been openly fighting alongside the “Southern Front,” a group of 54 opposition militias funded and commanded by a US-led war room based in Amman, Jordan called the Military Operations Center (MOC). …
Sources inside Syria — both opposition fighters and Syrian military brass (past and present) — suggest the command center consists of the US, UK, France, Jordan, Israel, and some Persian Gulf states. … In practice, the US doesn’t appear to mind the Nusra affiliation — regardless of the fact that the group is a terror organization — as long as the job gets done.
These wars, which pour Middle Eastern (and also Ukrainian*) refugees into the EU, are inter-aristocratic conflicts reflecting inter-aristocratic competitions; and the publics everywhere suffer enormously from them. The gainers from it are very few but very rich (and they hire very powerful agents in Europe and elsewhere). Those billionaire gainers, and their agents, should be Europe’s targets — not Russia and Iran. NATO must end now. Europe needs to be freed, at last, from America’s permanent-war-for permanent-‘peace’ grip. For Europeans, who are the indirect victims, to be blaming the refugees, who are the direct victims, won’t solve anything, but will simply please the victimizers, as is the public’s ancient habit (to please the powerful). A break must be made, away from that ugly past. European publics must lead the way, or no one will.

Saudi Arabia Issues Royal Pardon for Everything Soldiers Have Done in Yemen
The Saudi invasion of Yemen has been widely controversial internationally. Saudi airstrikes have killed massive numbers of Yemeni civilians, and the war has also caused a famine, and the largest cholera epidemic in human history.
Faced with UN criticism, Saudi officials heavily resisted allegations of wrongdoing, and ultimately got the UN to agree that Saudi Arabia would be allowed to investigate its own forces, and police themselves. This pardon shows none of that is going to matter.
It is unclear what prompted the pardon to be offered no, as the war shows no sign of ending, and there is no suggestion from official reports that the Saudis had punished any of their troops more than nominally for war crimes in the first place.
‘Zo ziet moderne oorlogspropaganda eruit’, luidt de kop boven een artikel van Caitlin Johnsone. Ze beschrijft hierin het grote aantal video’s, waarin heldhaftige jonge Iraanse moslim vrouwen ‘vechten’ voor hun vrijheid.
Johnstone wijst op het grote aantal malen dat deze video’s worden gedeeld door republikeinen en de pro-Israël lobby (plus: zionisten*), groepen die normaal gesproken totaal geen moeite hebben met de onderdrukking van vrouwen in islamitische landen, het gaat hier dan ook om Iraanse moslims (Iran is voor 89% sjiitisch) en niet om hun zwaar onderdrukte seksegenoten uit bijvoorbeeld Saoedi-Arabië (84% soennieten) of Egypte (93% soennieten)…….
Nee sterker nog: de reguliere westerse media en het grootste deel van de westerse politici roemen Mohammad bin Salman al-Saoed ofwel MBS, zoals men deze psychopathische moordenaar aanduidt, daar deze nieuwe machthebber in Saoedi-Arabië die vrouwen het recht heeft gegeven om auto te rijden, een wassen neus als je ziet hoe het er verder wat ‘vrouwenrechten’ voorstaat in S-A….. (die rechten zijn er niet.. Oh nee dom van mij: ze mogen nu autorijden, zodat ze mooi de boodschappen kunnen doen, als ‘manlief’ uit z’n neus zit te eten, of achter andere vrouwen aanzit….) Oh en voor ik het vergeet, deze MBS is tevens verantwoordelijk voor de genocide op de sjiitische bevolking van Jemen, waarin hij aan alle kanten wordt gesteund door de VS en GB, 2 NAVO lidstaten (al is de VS de feitelijke baas van de NAVO)……
In Iran mogen vrouwen al heel lang in auto’s rijden, echter dat schijnt niet van belang te zijn in het westen…. Ook het feit dat de huidige regering in Iran voorzichtig probeert de macht van de sjiitische leiders los te weken, hoeft amper of niet op westerse belangstelling te rekenen…..
Johnstone kan dan ook niet anders concluderen dan dat hier sprake is van oorlogspropaganda…… De voormalige staatssecretaris van BuZa in de VS, Rex Tillerson heeft een beleidsmedewerker, Brian Hook en deze stelde in een uitgelekt memorandum van de Trump administratie dat mensenrechten moeten worden gebruikt als knuppel om onwillige staten als Iran, Noord-Korea en China mee te slaan, terwijl de schending van mensenrechten moet worden toegestaan aan landen als Saoedi-Arabië, Egypte, de Filipijnen en Israël (al noemt Johnstone het laatste land niet in deze combinatie)………. In het memorandum is verder te lezen dat bondgenoten anders en beter moeten worden behandeld dan tegenstanders, daar je anders meer tegenstanders dan bondgenoten overhoudt……. (de VS was zelfs voor Saoedi-Arabië op de post van voorzitter van de VN Mensenrechtencommissie >> UNHRC)
Uit het voorgaande kan je ten overvloede nog eens destilleren dat men in de VS knettergek is en werkelijk denkt een wereldrijk te zijn, waar het naar goeddunken kan moorden en verder alles mag doen wat god verboden heeft (en dat voor een zwaar ‘christelijke’ natie…), zolang het maar in het belang is van dat rijk….
In feite is de VS werkelijk al lang het Vierde Rijk en heel wat succesvoller dan het Derde van Hitler in nazi-Duitsland….. Sinds WOII heeft de VS al meer dan 22 miljoen mensen vermoord**, dit feit zou toch een teken aan de wand moeten zijn voor zowel politici als de reguliere media in de rest van het westen……. I’ve been noticing videos going viral the last few days, some with millions of views, about Muslim women bravely fighting to free themselves from oppression in the Middle East. The videos, curiously, are being shared enthusiastically by many Republicans and pro-Israel hawks, who aren’t traditionally the sort of crowd you see rallying to support the civil rights of Muslims. What’s up with that?
Well, you may want to sit down for this shocker, but it turns out that they happen to be women from a nation that the US war machine is currently escalating operations against. They are Iranian.
Whenever you see the sudden emergence of an attractive media campaign that is sympathetic to the plight of civilians in a resource-rich nation unaligned with the western empire, you are seeing propaganda. When that nation is surrounded by other nations with similar human rights transgressions and yet those transgressions are ignored by that same media campaign, you are most certainly seeing propaganda. When that nation just so happens to already be the target of starvation sanctions and escalated covert CIA ops, you can bet the farm that you are seeing propaganda.
Back in December a memo was leaked from inside the Trump administration showing how then-Secretary of State, DC neophyte Rex Tillerson, was coached on how the US empire uses human rights as a pretense on which to attack and undermine noncompliant governments. Politico reports: The May 17 memo reads like a crash course for a businessman-turned-diplomat, and its conclusion offers a starkly realist vision: that the U.S. should use human rights as a club against its adversaries, like Iran, China and North Korea, while giving a pass to repressive allies like the Philippines, Egypt and Saudi Arabia”.
“Allies should be treated differently — and better — than adversaries. Otherwise, we end up with more adversaries, and fewer allies,” argued the memo, written by Tillerson’s influential policy aide, Brian Hook.
The propaganda machine doesn’t operate any differently from the State Department, since they serve the same establishment. US ally Saudi Arabia is celebrated by the mass media for “liberal reform” in allowing women to drive despite hard evidence that those “reforms” are barely surface-level cosmetics to present a pretty face to the western world, but Iranian women, who have been able to drive for years, are painted as uniquely oppressed. Iran is condemned by establishment war whores for the flaws in its democratic process, while Saudi Arabia, an actual monarchy, goes completely unscrutinized.
This is because the US-centralized power establishment, which has never at any point in its history cared about human rights, plans on effecting regime change in Iran by any means necessary. Should those means necessitate a potentially controversial degree of direct military engagement, the empire needs to make sure it retains control of the narrative.
Women in Iran are recording the abuse they suffer at the hands of men for not wearing religious clothing. May the good people of Iran free themselves from the shackles of the tyrannical mullah theocracy.
This is what war propaganda looks like in the era of social media. It will never look ugly. It will never directly show you its real intentions. If it did, it wouldn’t work. It can’t just come right out and say “Hey we need to do horrible, evil things to the people in this country on the other side of the world in your name using your resources, please play along without making a fuss.” It will necessarily look fresh and fun and rebellious. It will look appealing. It will look sexy.
And it’s working. I am currently getting tagged in these videos multiple times a day by Trump supporters who are eager to show me proof that I’m on the wrong side of the Iran issue; the psyop is so well-lubricated with a combination of sleek presentation and confirmation bias that it slides right past their skepticism and becomes accepted as fact, even the one with the Now This pussyhat propaganda logo in the corner.
Be less trusting of these monsters, please. The people of Afghanistan haven’t benefitted from the interminable military quagmire that has cost tens of thousands of their lives. The invaders of Iraq were never “greeted as liberators” by an oppressed population. The humanitarian intervention in Libya left a humanitarian catastrophe in its wake far more horrific than anything it claimed to be trying to prevent. Saving the children of Syria with western interventionism has left half a million Syrians dead.
If the Iranians do in fact wish to change their government, it should happen without crippling sanctions, collaboration with extremist terror cults, or the rapey tentacles of the CIA manipulating the situation. There has never been a US-led regime change in the Middle East that wasn’t disastrous. People should be screaming at the US and its allies to cease these interventions, not applauding propaganda that is clearly being manufactured by that same empire.

Het zal voor weinigen nog een verrassing zijn dat de gewelddadige psychopaat Pompeo een enorme schoft is die vaker liegt dan de waarheid spreekt. Het laatste ‘wapenfeit’ (althans voor zover ik weet) is zijn uiteenzetting over de gaande zijnde genocide in Jemen (een genocide die hij ‘als christen uiteraard’ niet zo noemt).
Ploert Pompeo durft de schuld voor de ellende van de bevolking in Jemen in de schoenen van Iran te schuiven, terwijl de enige bemoeienis van Iran met de dood voor ogen hebbende sjiitische bevolking in Jemen, het sturen van humanitaire hulpgoederen is……. Voor al de door de VS en Saoedi-Arabië gemaakte beschuldigingen aan het adres van Iran, dat het wapens, raketten en militaire training zou geven aan de Houthi rebellen, is tot op heden niet één bewijs geleverd, terwijl die beschuldigingen al een paar jaar lang worden gemaakt…….
De Saoedische coalitie die in feite een illegale oorlog voert tegen de Jemenitische sjiieten (onder regie en met hulp van de VS), heeft door haar bombardementen en blokkades gezorgd voor een gigantische cholera uitbraak waar, bovenop ook nog eens een grote difterie uitbraak plaatsvond en dat voor een bevolking die honger lijdt….. Ziekenhuizen, scholen, elektriciteitscentrales, waterzuiveringsinstallaties, en hele woonwijken werden door de Saoedische coalitie gebombardeerd, allen enorme oorlogsmisdaden!! Het laatste ziekenhuis dat door deze moorddadige coalitie werd gebombardeerd was een net afgebouwd ziekenhuis van Artsen zonder Grenzen, een ziekenhuis om de cholera uitbraak te bestrijden……
De VS tankt de straaljagers en bommenwerpers van deze Saoedische coalitie af in de lucht, zodat ze zo ‘efficiënt’ mogelijk hun moorddadig werk kunnen doen….. Voorts helpt de VS de Saoediërs mee met de blokkade op zee en vechten er met grote regelmaat VS speciale troepen op de grond in Jemen*, zogenaamd ingezet tegen IS, maar blijkbaar denkt de VS legerleiding dat de Houthi rebellen voor IS vechten, terwijl ze dondersgoed weten dat de Houthi’s juist erg succesvol waren in het bestrijden van IS en Al Qaida, die onderdak kregen in Jemen van de huidige ‘president’ Al-Hadi, voordat deze vrijwillig vertrok (S-A zette hem onder druk terug te keren zodat hij de Saoediërs te hulp kon roepen in de strijd tegen de Houthi rebellen en S-A met haar moorddadig werk tegen de sjiitische bevolking van Jemen en haar beschermers de Houthi rebellen kon beginnen….) Voorts levert de VS, als Groot-Brittannië, wapens, munitie (waaronder een tijdlang clusterbommen en sinds kort ook ‘slimme munitie’), training en militaire hardware als straaljagers en ander moorddadig wapentuig, aan de reli-fascistische dictatuur in Saoedi-Arabië……. (dit nog naast het adviseren van het Saoedische militaire apparaat, ofwel het regisseren en coördineren van bombardementen en gevechtsacties op de grond, door dezelfde VS…..)
Pompeo zou vervolgd moeten worden voor zijn enorme leugens (en oorlogshitserij), die voor velen zelfs een doodvonnis betekenden……. (waar men meteen even kan kijken voor welke moorden en andere smerige praktijken Pompeo als verantwoordelijk is aan te wijzen tijdens zijn functie als directeur van de CIA……..) #Iran’s support for Houthis in Yemen not only enables attacks on Saudi Arabia & UAE, but also risks increasing Yemen’s already massive humanitarian crisis. Ayatollah Khamenei must be held accountable for destabilizing Gulf’s security & prolonging suffering of the Yemeni people.
The administration has consistently focused on the small Iranian role in Yemen and exaggerated its importance while doing everything possible to cover for the Saudis and Emiratis at the same time that the U.S. has aided and abetted their bombing campaign and the many war crimes they have committed. Even now that the coalition is launching an offensive on the major port of Hodeidah that serves the vast majority of the population, the U.S. is not calling them out for their destabilizing and destructive activities. Instead of condemning the coalition for putting millions of Yemeni lives in jeopardy, the U.S. helps them to attack their impoverished neighbor. Instead of using its influence with these governments to rein in their abuses and alleviate the civilian population’s suffering, the U.S. gives them carte blanche, never criticizes them even when they massacre wedding-goers and refugees, and goes out of its way to fault one of the few governments in the region that isn’t attacking Yemen for the country’s miserable state. The humanitarian crisis in Yemen is the worst in the world, and the coalition blockade and bombing campaign are principal causes of that crisis. If the administration were even slightly concerned with addressing the suffering of Yemen’s people, it would not be providing weapons, intelligence, and refueling to the coalition, and it would be holding them accountable for their numerous and egregious war crimes and crimes against humanity. They aren’t concerned, and so they continue to support the war on Yemen no matter what the coalition does. Support for this war is indefensible, so it is no wonder that top U.S. officials have to try to distract the world from what our government is enabling in Yemen. It is the Saudi and Emirati governments along with ours and the coalition’s other Western patrons that need to be called out and held accountable for creating the disaster engulfing the people of Yemen.
