Privacy: leugens, bedrog, Ollongren (D66 minister) en De Verleiders

In ‘De Wereld Draait Door’ (DWDD) afgelopen maandag het toneelgezelschap De Verleiders, die middels een theatervoorstelling genaamd #nietsteverbergen het land rondreist. De heren van dit gezelschap willen de Nederlanders opvoeden op het gebied van privacy, daar je telkens weer de dooddoener hoort ‘ik heb niets te verbergen’, als er wordt gesproken over de aantasting van de privacy……

 Duidelijk dat mensen die voorgaand cliché gebruiken niet doorhebben hoe je leven overhoop kan worden gegooid, als je in de verkeerde kijker van de geheime diensten terechtkomt, of als je identiteit wordt gestolen….. Om maar te zwijgen over de hypothetische mogelijkheid dat er een rechtse coup zou worden gepleegd in Nederland, of als een vreemde mogendheid ons land zou binnenmarcheren (zie het Nederlandse bevolkingsregister van voor WOII en de Jodenvervolging in ons land….)

 Techjournalist voor RTL, Daniël Verlaan stelde na de uitzending o.a. dat het voorbeeld dat werd gegeven onzin is, het voorbeeld dat werd gegeven: als je in een ‘moslimwijk’ woont en je zou een bepaalde zak kunstmest kopen voor je volkstuintje, je van de AIVD mogelijk een vlaggetje achter je naam krijgt (met een bepaalde soort kunstmest kan je explosieven maken).

 Het is maar zeer de vraag of dat niet zo zou zijn, immers ook hier geboren Nederlanders die zich bekeerden tot de islam, hebben zich met terrorisme ingelaten….. Het aantal aanslagen in de EU, die men had kunnen voorkomen doordat de daders zich al in het vizier van geheime diensten bevonden, doet al snel de idee ontstaan dat geheime diensten zich met veel te veel zaken bemoeien, ofwel ze zien door de bomen het bos niet meer en het is bepaald niet onmogelijk dat men de verkeerde personen doorlicht, bijvoorbeeld doordat je bepaalde woorden hebt gebruikt in een telefoongesprek……

 Nog steeds worden mensen die bij de geheime diensten als ‘extreem-links’ bekend staan, als gevaarlijk gezien door die diensten, terwijl daar niet de minste aanleiding toe is….. Terwijl men zoals gewoonlijk extreem rechts laat aankloten (al moet ik zeggen dat de AIVD, of de Nationaal Coördinator Terrorismebestrijding, afgelopen jaar hebben gewezen op het gevaar van aanslagen door extreemrechts, dit jaren nadat extreemrechtse figuren aanslagen pleegden op moskeeën en scholen met islamitisch onderwijs…..)…..

 Eén ding is zeker, als de VS de data van de AIVD wil inzien krijgt ze daar toestemming voor en als je in dat gestolen land op een terreurverdachten-lijst komt te staan, kan je beter onderduiken…… Voorts is bekend dat een Israëlische firma, die goede banden heeft met het terreurbewind in dat land, soft- en hardware heeft geleverd aan de Nederlandse politie, waar bij storingen alleen personeel van die firma aan de hardware en software mag ‘sleutelen…..’ Het is wel bijna zeker dat de Israëlische geheime dienst in de computerarchieven van de Nederlandse politie kan grasduinen…..

 Volgens hare D66 leeghoofdigheid en superfantast Ollongren zijn er strenge regels voor ingrijpen van de geheime diensten, echter het is maar de vraag of degenen die e.e.a. moeten controleren alles te zien krijgen van wat de AIVD en MIVD op het gebied van privacy uitvreten……..

 Voorlopig is de sleepwet van kracht, waarbij de geheime diensten gegevens van alle Nederlanders mogen verzamelen en dat voor een veel te lange tijd mogen bewaren….. (en die zoals gezegd door de VS mogen worden ingezien; zou dat niet mogen is er niets aan de hand voor de VS, dan breken ze gewoon in door de computers van de AIVD en MIVD te hacken, zoals ze dat al eerder hebben laten zien, zelfs de smartphone van Merkel, premier van Duitsland [een bevriende natie van de VS], was niet veilig voor VS spionage…..)

 Ollongren had overigens wel een erg grote bek over de uitzending van DWDD, terwijl deze fantast eerder Rusland beschuldigde van het manipuleren van de Nederlandse verkiezingen en die in de VS….. ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Terwijl er voor die uitlatingen niet één steekhoudend bewijs is gevonden, laat staan geopenbaard…….

 Wat betreft Russische manipulaties van de VS presidentsverkiezingen, zijn zelfs na meer dan 2 jaar geen bewijzen geleverd!!! Hierbij gelooft Ollongren de westerse geheime diensten volledig, terwijl die van de VS, GB, Duitsland en Frankrijk aantoonbaar een fiks aantal keren hebben gelogen, zo hard gelogen dat daardoor in Irak intussen meer dan 1,5 miljoen mensen werden vermoord in een illegale oorlog, die de VS met militaire steun van veel NAVO landen (ook Nederland) in 2003 begon…..

Lichtgelovige ‘atheïst’ gelooft Russiagate leugens…..

Ongelofelijk maar waar: Sam Harris, volgens de schrijver van het hieronder opgenomen artikel, Caitlin Johnstone, een goeroe van de atheïsten, heeft laten weten dat hij het verhaal gelooft dat Rusland de presidentsverkiezingen van 2016 heeft gemanipuleerd, ondanks dat daar totaal geen bewijs voor is gegeven en dat na 2 jaar lang leugens over deze zaak (zonder dat men in die tijd met bewijzen kwam…)….

Harris liet als atheïst o.a. weten het niet te begrijpen dat mensen een geloof omarmen, een geloof bijvoorbeeld in een god, waarvoor elk bewijs ontbreekt…….. Nu doet deze Harris precies hetzelfde als christenen doen, geloven in een zaak die niet te bewijzen is, daar deze nooit heeft plaatsgevonden….
Je vraagt je wellicht af waarom Harris gelooft dat Rusland de verkiezingen manipuleerde, wel dat is héééél simpel: de geheime diensten van de VS zeggen dat het zo is……. ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Als er nu één ding duidelijk is, is het wel het feit dat de geheime diensten in de VS vooral goed zijn in liegen, zelfs als het tegendeel meer dan bewezen is, neem de leugens die hebben geleid tot de illegale oorlog in 2003 van de VS en haar NAVO partners tegen Irak. De claim dat Irak massavernietigingswapens had, was al 10 keer naar de prullenbak verwezen door het VN team van wapeninspecteurs o.l.v. Blix…….

Credulous Atheist Believes Evidence-Free Establishment Russia Narrative

The other day RT reporter Dan Cohen flagged how New Atheism guru Sam Harris recently had a shady cold war manipulator on his podcast promulgating the establishment narrative that Russian hackers and trolls interfered in the 2016 US election, despite the fact that there is no more publicly available evidence for this than there is for the existence of biblical Jehovah. I find this both fascinating and hilarious.

(uiteraard is dit niet de ‘video’ die bij het Twitterbericht hoort, echter in deze gesproken tekst gaat Harris uitvoerig in op de leugen die men ‘Russiagate’ is gaan noemen, voor het origineel klik hier)

 Harris, author of The End of Faith and commonly mentioned in the same breath as atheistic thought leaders like Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens, once wrote the following:

“While believing strongly, without evidence, is considered a mark of madness or stupidity in any other area of our lives, faith in God still holds immense prestige in our society. Religion is the one area of our discourse where it is considered noble to pretend to be certain about things no human being could possibly be certain about. It is telling that this aura of nobility extends only to those faiths that still have many subscribers. Anyone caught worshipping Poseidon, even at sea, will be thought insane.”

Belief in the establishment Russia narrative is very much the same. As Ray McGovern of Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity recently documented in an excellent article for Consortium News titled “A Look Back at Clapper’s Jan. 2017 ‘Assessment’ on Russia-gate”, the entire election meddling narrative was built upon an ODNI* assessment by two dozen analysts hand-picked and overseen by James Clapper. McGovern notes how Clapper, then the Director of National Intelligence, is notorious for having helped sell the lies that led to the Iraq invasion, for lying to congress about NSA surveillance, and for multiple instances of claiming that Russians are genetically predisposed to nefarious behavior.
We the public have never seen the evidence that led to this extremely shady assessment’s findings, yet those findings have gradually been integrated into mass media reports as infallible fact upon which the rest of the establishment Russia narrative has been built. Like belief in mainstream religions, the only reason its lack of evidence fails to come into question is because it has been made popular by mainstream politicians and credulous media talking heads who have been reporting it as fact day in and day out for two years, without adding any solid, tangible evidence to the equation beyond the unsubstantiated say-so of intelligence agencies with an extensive record of lying to the public to manufacture support for preexisting geopolitical agendas. It’s an entirely faith-based narrative, only instead of placing faith in the words of priests and books authored by long-dead men, faith is placed in the authoritative say-so of the imperial intelligence community.

It’s funny then, given the aforementioned quote, that Harris escalated his already highly credulous relationship with the CIA Russia narrative in a podcast earlier this month titled “The Information War” in which he nodded faithfully along with a guest whose organization was recently exposed as having manufactured the appearance of Russian election meddling in an Alabama Senate race. His guest, Renee DiResta, is named in a December New York Times report for her involvement in a project by narrative control firm New Knowledge, which claims in an internal document to have “orchestrated an elaborate ‘false flag’ operation that planted the idea that the [Alabama Senate candidate Roy] Moore campaign was amplified on social media by a Russian botnet.” This same narrative control firm which manufactured the bogus story that Moore was being amplified by Russian bots also authored two reports on Russian social media meddling for the US Congress in December which set off a week’s worth of hysterical shrieking headlines.
At no time in Harris’ interview with DiResta does he question any of her cold war rhetoric or baseless assertions, and indeed he eggs her along with agreeable questions along the lines of the CIA/CNN Russia narrative.
“Many people, certainly most Trump supporters, continue to doubt whether Russia interfered in anything in 2016,” Harris said, as though skepticism of the unproven claims of shady intelligence agencies is a bad thing, then asked point-blank, “Is there any basis for doubt about that at this point?”
“Nope,” DiResta replied.
“This is just crystal clear as a matter of what our intelligence services tell us, and a matter of what people like you can ascertain by just studying online behavior?” Harris helpfully added.
“It happened,” DiResta replied. “There’s really nothing else to say about it. The intelligence agencies know it happened, foreign governments know it happened, the platforms acknowledge it happened.
There may be some small group of people that continues to live like ostriches, but that doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.”
Intelligence agencies know something happened, therefore it happened. The Pope knows bread and wine transubstantiates into the literal body and blood of Jesus Christ, therefore it happens. Sam Harris went right along with this, completely unquestioning like a good little cult member.

In an article for The Nation, journalist Aaron Maté breaks down how the data within the establishment Russia narrative itself shows that Russia’s social media involvement in US politics was “small, amateurish, and mostly unrelated to the 2016 election,” with only a tiny fraction of the Russia-based Internet Research Agency’s US content having anything to do with the election at all, a very small amount of funds allocated to the total project, and making up an infinitesimally small percentage of total social media content viewed by Americans. Maté has also noted that the total expenditure on IRA posts for the entire US election is actually comparable to what New Knowledge spent on its “false flag operation” in the Alabama Senate race alone, which New Knowledge claims was too small to have impacted the election.
If that’s not enough reason for you to be skeptical, Maté and the Moon of Alabama blog point out that there is no evidence that the Internet Research Agency had any intent to influence the election, nor indeed that it is anything other than a for-profit clickbait operation. Looking at the content of the posts we’ve been shown and the statistics we’ve been told about them, this is very difficult to argue against, which is probably why nobody ever tries to.
Sam Harris the credulous atheist never brings any of this up, uncritically letting his guest spout faith-based doctrine about both Kremlin social media interference and Russian hacking.
“Let’s talk about the WikiLeaks data dump,” DiResta said later in the podcast. “So as you mentioned at the start, the GRU** had this hack, they had these emails and they laundered these emails through WikiLeaks. They gave them to WikiLeaks.”
There is no more publicly available evidence that this happened than there is that the Qur’an is the actual, literal word of actual, literal Allah, yet Sam Harris the credulous atheist never asked her for evidence of her claims. He uncritically let her advance not just establishment narratives but establishment agendas as well, nodding agreeably along as she called for social media platforms to collaborate with intelligence agencies and grieved about America being legally unable to respond with propaganda of its own to Russian online manipulations.


Support for establishment cold war narratives against Russia is not the only front along which Sam Harris finds himself in alignment with neoconservatism, whose push for a more aggressive posture toward the USSR was one of the early tenets of the movement. Harris’ extensive history of Islamophobic comments and his sympathetic attitude toward the so-called “war on terror” and US military interventionism in Muslim-majority nations play right into the hands of neoconservative agendas in the Middle East, and he’s been accused of being a closet neocon so much he’s had to publicly address it. Neoconservatives have been consistently wrong about literally everything to do with foreign policy for decades, yet Sam Harris the credulous atheist finds theirs a sufficiently rational ideology to ride alongside. There is no more evidence that US interventionism in the Middle East is helpful than there is for the existence of Vishnu, yet Sam Harris the credulous atheist uncritically endorses it.
Establishment-fueled Russia hysteria is a religion. It is an entirely faith-based belief system which has toxic effects on the people who subscribe to it, and toxic effects on the world as it manufactures support for insane escalations between two nuclear superpowers. As we discussed yesterday, if you don’t have a functioning radar for detecting malignant narratives, you might get lucky and find yourself in opposition to some pernicious belief systems, yet also find yourself selling CIA narratives to your very large online audience as well.
Credulous atheist Sam Harris doesn’t oppose all religions. He is critical of some of them, and he is a zealous bishop of others.

Star Wars 2.0: Trump wil een ‘raketafweersysteem’ in de ruimte

Jason Ditz plaatste op ANTIWAR een artikel over de wil van Trump een raketafweersysteem in de ruimte te construeren. Eerder kondigde Trump al aan (waarschijnlijk nadat hij een marathon van Star War films had gezien) dat de VS een militair ruimteleger zal opzetten……

Overigens bepaald niet de eerste keer dat men in de VS sprak over een VS raketafweersysteem in de ruimte: ook de knettergekke president en B-acteur Reagan wilde in de 80er jaren van de vorige eeuw een raketafweersysteem in de ruimte, een plan dat destijds sarcastisch Star Wars werd genoemd……
Verder hebben zowel Trump als zijn adviseur Bolton aangekondigd dat de VS uit het INF verdrag zal stappen, met de claim dat Rusland zich niet aan dit verdrag houdt, terwijl het juist de VS is die met een ‘raketschild’ in Polen en Roemenië de boel verder op scherp heeft gesteld…… Dat raketschild zou gericht zijn tegen raketten uit Iran, terwijl dat land bepaald niet bekend staat als land dat overal en nergens illegale oorlogen begint, zoals de VS dat met hulp van andere NAVO partners pleegt te doen…..
De raketten van het raketschild in Polen en Roemenië kunnen in een mum van tijd van kernkoppen worden voorzien en daarmee als aanvalsraketten worden ingezet…… Met dat schild heeft de VS dan ook het Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces-verdrag (INF-verdrag) al lang en breed geschonden, immers de raketten van het raketschild staan op strategische afstand van doelen als Moskou in Rusland, een afstand die binnen het INF-verdrag als verboden is gekenmerkt, ofwel raketten die doelen op een afstand van 500 tot 5.500 kilometer kunnen raken……
Het voorgaande terwijl zoals gezegd de VS het gore lef heeft te stellen dat Rusland het INF-verdrag schendt…..
Geen sterk stuk van Ditz, daar hij een aantal zaken is vergeten. Waar hij een punt heeft is zijn stelling dat de VS duidelijk van zins is om Rusland vergeldingscapaciteit uit te schakelen, ofwel dat Rusland bij een nucleaire aanval van de VS plus haar NAVO partners GB en Frankrijk, geen raketten als vergelding kan lanceren…… Het voorgaande zal leiden tot een nieuwe wapenrace en deze is zeker niet in het belang van het volk in de VS, Rusland en de rest van Europa……

Met een ruimte raketafweersysteem breekt de VS de al zeer fragiele stabiliteit in de wereld verder af, terwijl Trump, Bolton en andere top-oorlogsmisdadigers in de VS, keer op keer schermen met de leugen dat de VS de stabiliteit in de wereld bewaart en bewaakt…….. Hoe verzint men het en dat in een land dat de ene illegale oorlog na de andere begint??!!! De VS houdt zich verder bezig met economische oorlogsvoering en het opzetten van opstanden die tot een staatsgreep moeten leiden……. Ook vermoordt de VS een enorm aantal verdachten (ofwel illegale executies zonder een fatsoenlijke rechtszaak) middels drones, waarbij meer dan 90% van de slachtoffers niet eens werd verdacht, dus veelal vrouwen en kinderen…… Alsof al deze zaken stabilisatie bevorderend zijn……

Eén ding is zeker: mocht WOIII uitbreken is deze één op één ‘te danken aan’ de grootste terreurentiteit op de wereld, t.w. de VS (en haar oorlogshond de NAVO)…….

(ANTIWAR.COM) — In what looks to be a highly ambitious and even more highly cost prohibitive scheme, President Trump has announced his intention to greatly expand US missile defense systems, with a major focus on putting them in space.
During his announcement Thursday at the Pentagon, Trump set out his goals, saying that he wants “to ensure that we can detect and destroy any missile launched against the United States – anywhere, anytime, anyplace.”
The Pentagon has had space-based interceptors on its wish list for some time, but between that and drones with lasers on them, they were far short of the sort of total, planet-wide coverage that President Trump is talking about.
A space-centric missile defense system must inevitably draw comparisons to the Strategic Defense Initiative, commonly called Star Wars, of the 1980s, a controversial and hugely expensive program that also sought space-based interceptors.
The timing of President Trump’s announcement will likely raise eyebrows on a few fronts, as it comes just a day after the US announced its intentions to withdraw from the Intermediate Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty with Russia, and just a day before North Korean officials are to arrive to meet with the secretary of state.
Especially with respect to Russia, US buildups of missile defense systems have been met with major suspicion that the US is trying to eliminate Russia’s deterrent capability, a concern which often leads to Russian threats of a new arms race. With a treaty having just collapsed, that’s an even bigger concern this time.
This also likely is tied to President Trump’s long-standing fondness for militarizing space, and his attempts to create a Space Force. During his speech, Trump declared space to be a “new warfighting domain.”

In de VS spreekt men n.a.v. de Trump administratie over ‘Trump Hypersensitive Unexplained Disorder’ (THUD), een aandoening die wordt veroorzaakt door het regeringsbeleid van Trump, uiteraard dik gerelateerd aan de leugen die men ‘Russiagate’ noemt……. Mensen die aan deze aandoening lijden hebben last van een groot aantal symptomen, zoals: overeten, hoofdpijn, flauwvallen, chronische nekpijn, depressie en zelfs suikerproblemen plus hartklachten…… (voor een volledige lijst, zie het hieronder opgenomen artikel van Caitlin Johnstone)

Aan voorgaande aandoeningen lijdt men in de VS al decennia lang, niet zo vreemd als je ziet hoe inhumaan men daar met het grote arme deel van de bevolking omgaat, -hoe men omgaat met wapenbezit, -hoe men omgaat met kleurlingen, -hoe men de ene na de andere illegale oorlog voert, -de enorme prestatiedwang in de VS maatschappij en zaken als -de prijs voor gezonde voeding (arme gezinnen zijn altijd goedkoper uit als ze eten halen bij zaken als McDonald’s, i.p.v. gezonde voeding uit de winkel of van de markt)….

Buiten wapenbezit, zijn deze zaken overigens ook van toepassing op veel andere westerse bevolkingen, zelfs in Nederland lijden veel mensen aan de hiervoor benoemde gezondheidsklachten……
Johnstone betoogt terecht dat de reguliere massamedia verantwoordelijk zijn voor doden, niet alleen met hun onvoorwaardelijke steun aan het oneindig illegaal oorlogvoeren door de VS, maar ook voor het bewaren (en bewaken) van de ijskoude, inhumane neoliberale status quo, door deze dag in dag uit als zaligmakend te prediken….. Daarmee propageren deze media de klassenmaatschappij die van nooit weggeweest weer massaal wordt omarmt in de VS (en andere westerse landen), ja zelfs door mensen die arm zijn, daar de media hen voorhouden dat ze volgend jaar wel eens schathemelrijk zouden kunnen zijn…. Ofwel het inleveren van de leugen dat het leven na de dood veel beter zou zijn dan het leven zelf, zoals o.a. door christenen gepropageerd, wordt meer en meer ingewisseld voor het gehersenspoelde ‘kansdenken’, waarvoor de reguliere massamedia en veel politici verantwoordelijk zijn…..

Vergeet niet dat je in de VS aanwijsbaar langer kan leven als je geld hebt, buiten de (gedwongen) voedselkeuze voor arme burgers, is ook de medische hulpverlening voor de welgestelden tientallen procenten beter dan die voor de grote onderlaag van arme mensen in de VS, van wie niet zelden mensen vroegtijdig overlijden aan bijvoorbeeld kanker, daar ze de therapieën niet kunnen betalen……. Buiten de 50 miljoen VS burgers die afhankelijk zijn van voedselbonnen, zijn er vele miljoenen meer, die zelfs met 2 banen niet rond kunnen komen (een zaak die hier ook meer en meer voorkomt, we volgen de VS dan ook in het asociale neoliberale VS beleid…….)

Mainstream Media Is Now Killing People Directly

A new, updated data set is now available on a psychological phenomenon that has been labeled “Trump Anxiety Disorder” or “Trump Hypersensitive Unexplained Disorder,” and it says that the phenomenon only got worse in 2018. The disorder is described as a specific type of anxiety in which symptoms “were specific to the election of Trump and the resultant unpredictable sociopolitical climate,” and according to the 2018 surveys Americans are feeling significantly more stressed by the future of their country and the current political environment than they were last year.

Pacific Standard reports as follows:
As the possibility of a Hillary Clinton victory began to slip away—and the possibility of a Donald Trump presidency became more and more certain—the contours of the new age of American anxiety began to take shape. In a 2017 column, Washington Postcolumnist Dana Milbank described this phenomenon as “Trump Hypertensive Unexplained Disorder”:

“Overeating. Headaches. Fainting. Irregular heartbeat. Chronic neck pain. Depression. Irritable bowel syndrome. Tightness in the chest. Shortness of breath. Teeth grinding. Stomach ulcer. Indigestion. Shingles. Eye twitching. Nausea. Irritability. High blood sugar. Tinnitus. Reduced immunity. Racing pulse. Shaking limbs. Hair loss. Acid reflux. Deteriorating vision. Stroke. Heart attack. It was a veritable organ recital”.

Two years later, the physiological effects of the Trump administration aren’t going away. A growing body of research has tracked the detrimental impacts of Trump-related stress on broad segments of the American population, from young adults to women, to racial and LGBT communities.

The results aren’t good.

Research Suggests Trump’s Election Has Been Detrimental to Many Americans’ Mental Health

Particularly that of the country’s most marginalized groups.

I do not for one second doubt that Americans are feeling more stressed and suffering more health-degrading symptoms as a result than they were prior to Trump’s election. But Pacific Standard and its “growing body of research” ignore the most obvious and significant culprit behind this phenomenon which is tearing people’s health to shreds: the mass media which has been deliberately fanning the flames of Trump panic.
The always excellent Moon of Alabama blog has just published a sarcasm-laden piecedocumenting the many, many aggressive maneuvers that this administration has made against the interests of Russia, from pushing for more NATO funding to undermining Russia’s natural gas interests to bombing Syria to sanctioning Russian oligarchs to dangerous military posturing. And yet the trending, most high-profile stories about Trump today all involve painting him as a Putin puppet who is working to destroy America by taking a weak stance against an alarming geopolitical threat. This has had the effect of manufacturing demand for even more dangerous escalations against a nuclear superpower who just so happens to be a longtime target of US intelligence agencies.
If the mass media were in the business of reporting facts, there would be a lot less “Putin’s puppet” talk and a lot more “Hey, maybe we should avoid senseless escalations which could end all life on earth” talk among news media consumers. But there isn’t, because the mass media is not in the business of reporting facts, it’s in the business of selling narratives. Even if those narratives are so shrill and stress-inducing that they imperil the health of their audience.
Trump is clearly not a Russian asset, he’s a facilitator of America’s permanent unelected government just like his predecessors, and indeed as far as actual policies and administration behavior goes he’s not that much different from Barrack Obama and George W Bush. Hell, for all his demagogic anti-immigrant speech Trump hasn’t even caught up to Obama’s peak ICE deportation years. If the mass media were in the business of reporting facts, people would be no more worried about this administration than they were about the previous ones, because when it comes to his administration’s actual behavior, he’s just as reliable an upholder of the establishment-friendly status quo as his predecessors.

Used to be that the US mass media only killed people indirectly, by facilitating establishment war agendas in repeating government agency propaganda as objective fact and promulgating narratives that manufacture support for a status quo which won’t even give Americans health insurance or safe drinking water. Now they’re skipping the middle man and killing them directly by psychologically brutalizing them so aggressively that it ruins their health, all to ensure that Democrats support war and adore the US intelligence community.
They do this for a reason, of course. The Yellow Vests protests in France have continued unabated for their ninth consecutive week, a decentralized populist uprising resulting from ordinary French citizens losing trust in their institutions and the official narratives which uphold them. The social engineers responsible for controlling the populace of the greatest military power on the planet are watching France closely, and understand deeply what is at stake should they fail to control the narrative and herd ordinary Americans into supporting US government institutions. Right now they’ve got Republicans cheering on the White House and Democrats cheering on the US intelligence community, but that could all change should something happen which causes them to lose control over the thoughts that Americans think about their rulers.
Propaganda is the single most overlooked and under-appreciated aspect of human society. The ability of those in power to manipulate the ways ordinary people think, act and vote has allowed for an inverted totalitarianism which turns the citizenry into their own prison wardens, allowing those with real power to continue doing as they please unhindered by the interests of the common man.
The only thing that will lead to real change is the people losing trust in corrupt institutions and rising like lions against them. That gets increasingly likely as those institutions lose control of the narrative, and with trust in the mass media at an all-time low, populist uprisings restoring power to the people in France, and media corporations acting increasingly weird and insecure, that looks more and more likely by the day.

BlackAgenda Report plaatste gisteren een boekbespreking van Danny Haiphong over een nieuw boek van Dan Kovalik, schrijver, arbeids- en mensenrechtenadvocaat, maar vooral een anti-imperialist. In zijn derde boek ‘The Plot to Control the World: How the US Spent Billions to Change the Outcome of Elections Around the World’, gaat Kovalik in op het beïnvloeden door de VS van verkiezingen elders, een zaak die de VS belastingbetaler al vele miljarden heeft gekost*. Terwijl de VS nu juist Rusland beschuldigt van dergelijk gedrag (daarover zo meer)……

Mochten de resultaten van dergelijke smerige beïnvloeding door de VS niet naar wens zijn, kan je er bijna zeker van zijn, dat de VS een staatsgreep in een dergelijk land zal organiseren, het liefst via een opstand, zodat men haar smerige machinaties kan legitimeren……. Veelal gebeurt dit door eerst een ‘stille’ economische oorlog tegen zo’n land te beginnen (door sterke druk uit te oefenen op grote bedrijven die bijvoorbeeld winkelketens in zo’n land hebben en hen te dwingen de winkels niet langer te bevoorraden, zie wat dit betreft Venezuela….), ‘stil’ daar de VS dit uiteraard niet aan de grote klok hangt, gevolg is dan wel dat de bevolking de straat op zal gaan uit ontevredenheid over de persoonlijke (financiële) omstandigheden…..

 Wat betreft directe staatsgrepen: neem Honduras in 2009, destijds hebben Hillary Clinton en de CIA daar een staatsgreep georganiseerd tegen de democratisch gekozen linkse regering…… Een staatsgreep die intussen aan duizenden het leven heeft gekost, daarnaast zijn er veel Hondurezen verdwenen, ofwel ook vermoord door de Junta die de VS daar parachuteerde….. Voorts zijn een enorm aantal mensen op de vlucht geslagen, o.a. richting VS (zoals het grootste deel van de Karavaan die al op weg was naar de VS, vóór de midterm verkiezingen in dat middels een genocide gestolen land…….)
Kovalik noemt ook Rusland als een land waar de VS de verkiezing van de corrupte alcoholverslaafde Jeltsin in 1996 veiligstelde met een slordige miljard dollar….. Je zou zelfs kunnen stellen dat de VS mede verantwoordelijk is voor de ‘oligarchen’ die Rusland destijds hebben leeggestolen…..
Hoe durven politici in de VS en de rest van het westen, alsmede de reguliere massamedia in het westen, nog met de vieze vingers naar Rusland te wijzen als grote manipulator van de VS presidentsverkiezingen, terwijl er geen enkel bewijs werd en wordt geleverd voor deze leugen en de VS zelf overal waar het haar uitkomt opstanden (zoals gezegd gevoed met een stille economische oorlog), staatsgrepen en illegale oorlogen organiseert, waar overigens honderden meters aan dossiers met bewijzen voor zijn te vinden, neem alleen al WikiLeaks en dan m.n. de Vault 7 en 8 documenten op deze (echte) klokkenluiderswebsite……..

(BAR) — The U.S. military state overthrows democratically-elected governments that it deems to be a threat to corporate interests.
“There is plenty of evidence that the United States is the most depraved and dangerous “meddler” in the affairs of other nations that history has ever known.”
Dan Kovalik is a labor and human rights lawyer, but most of all he is an anti-imperialist and an author of three books. Kovalik’s first two books tackled the specific US war drives against Russia and Iran. His third installment, The Plot to Control the World: How the US Spent Billions to Change the Outcome of Elections Around the World, addresses the broad scope of US election meddling abroad. The book provides much needed political and ideological life support to an anti-war movement in the U.S that has been rendered nearly invisible to the naked eye.
The Plot to Control the World is as detailed in its critique of U.S. imperialism as it is concise. In just over 160 pages, Kovalik manages to analyze the various ways that the U.S. political and military apparatus interferes in the affairs of nations abroad to achieve global hegemony. He wastes no time in exposing the devastating lie that is American exceptionalism, beginning appropriately with the U.S. imperialist occupations of Haiti and the Philippines at the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th. The U.S. would murder millions of Filipinos and send both nations into a spiral of violence, instability, and poverty that continues to this day. As Kovalik explains regarding Haiti, “While the specific, claimed justifications for [U.S.] intervention changed over time- e.g., opposing the end of slavery, enforcing the Monroe Doctrine, fighting Communism, fighting drugs, restoring law and order — the fact is that the interventions never stopped and the results for the Haitian people have been invariably disastrous.”

US expansionism has relied upon the ideology of American exceptionalism to silence criticism and weaken anti-war forces in the United States. American exceptionalism claims that the U.S. is a force for good in the world and completely justified in its wars of conquest draped in the cover of spreading “democracy and freedom” around the world. Kovalik challenges American exceptionalism by showing readers just how much damage that US expansionism and militarism has caused for nations and peoples in every region of the planet.Russia, Honduras, Guatemala, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Vietnam and many other nations have seen their societies devastated by U.S. “election meddling.” In Honduras, for example, a U.S.-backed coup of left-wing President Manuel Zelaya in 2009 made the nation one of the most dangerous places in the world to be a journalist, indigenous person, or trade-union/environmental activist. Thousands of Hondurans have been displaced, disappeared, or assassinated since the coup.
Another important aspect of The Plot to Control the World is its exposure of U.S hypocrisy surrounding the subject of “election meddling.” Since the end of the 2016 Presidential elections, the U.S. military, political, and media branches of the imperialist state have accused Russia of virtually implanting Donald Trump into the Oval office. The U.S. public has been fed a steady dose of anti-Russia talking points in an apparent effort on the part of the elites to beat the drums of war with the nuclear-armed state. No evidence has been presented to prove the conspiracy, as a recent National Public Radio (NPR) analysis states plainly. However, there is plenty of evidence that the United States is the most depraved and dangerous “meddler” in the affairs of other nations that history has ever known.

Just ask the much-vaunted Russians. Kovalik devotes an entire chapter to the 1996 Presidential election in Russia that re-elected the wildly unpopular Boris Yeltsin. The fall of the Soviet Union in 1991 began an era of “shock therapy” in the newly erected Russian Federation, a euphemism for the wholesale theft and transfer of socialized wealth into the hands of oligarchs and multinational corporations. Millions would perish in Russia from an early death due to the sudden loss of healthcare, housing, jobs, and other basic services. In 1996, President Bill Clinton ensured that Yeltsin maintained his near total grip on state power in Russia by providing the Russian President with a team of U.S. political consultants and over a billion dollars’ worth of IMF monies directly to the campaign. U.S. political and monetary support allowed Yeltsin to rig the election in his favor despite his dwindling popularity. Kovalik shows that if anyone should worry about election meddling, it should be the people of Russia and not the US elites that control Washington.
The Plot to Control the World takes readers into the Democratic Republic of Congo, where the CIA’s coup of revolutionary Patrice Lumumba continues to haunt the resource rich nation in the form of endless US-backed genocide. It travels to Guatemala, where the CIA overthrow of Jacobo Arbenz led to a U.S.-backed slaughter of a quarter million Guatemalans under the auspices of several military dictatorships. Kovalik shows us that the election of the fascistic Jair Bolsonaro in Brazil was no aberration, as the U.S. was primarily responsible for the rise in fascism in Brazil through its direct role in placing the nation under the control of a military dictatorship in 1964. The military dictatorship predated the CIA’s ouster of Chile’s Salvador Allende in 1973, which handed the once socialist state to Augusto Pinochet’s murderous and repressive leadership.

The entire skeleton of the U.S. military state is on full display in The Plot to Control the World. The U.S. military state utilizes an array of tools to overthrow democratically-elected governments that it deems to be a threat to corporate interests. These tools include the U.S. intelligence agencies, so-called Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs) such as the National Endowment for Democracy, and the various branches of the military itself, to name a few. Regardless of the tools employed, the mission is always the same: to destabilize independent nations that refuses to bow down to the dictates of U.S. imperialism. Thus, while Nicaragua, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Vietnam may possess unique histories, their economic and political development has been shaped by the destructive interference of the United States.
Dan Kovalik is not likely to be reviewed in the New York Timesor other corporate outlets. That’s because Kovalik unapologetically speaks out against U.S. empire and all that upholds it. In doing so, Kovalik’s The Plot to Control the World walks in the footsteps of anti-imperialists such as Michael Parenti and William Blum. Blum, a former State Department employee, spent his post-State Department life providing humanity with knowledge about how US imperialism operates on the global stage. The New York Times wasted no time in slandering Blum in their obituary . This showed the great lengths that the ruling elites will go to discredit, defame, and condemn critics of the military industrial complex and how important it is for those who oppose war let go of any expectation that the corporate media will cover Kovalik’s work or anyone else who speaks out against war.

With that said, one of the reasons that the left in the U.S. is so weak is because it has been numerically and politically isolated by the lies of the Empire. Despite the ruthlessness of the austerity and incarceration regimes, many Americans continue to be convinced that the U.S. is the most exceptional nation in the world and do not balk when its military wages wars abroad at the expense of U.S. tax dollars and civilian lives. U.S. imperialism has made sure that Americans feel that they are special colonizers who see the victims of the U.S. military state as savages worthy of slaughter. The Plot to Control the World is based on a different premise: internationalism. The book links the struggle against US imperialism to the needs of the oppressed and working class living in the heart of empire, making it an essential read for those who are sick and tired of the prevailing narrative of American exceptionalism and want to be armed with knowledge that is essential toward changing it.

Tijdens de begrafenis van zijn vader, massamoordenaar en oorlogsmisdadiger George H.W. Bush, gaf de nog grotere massamoordenaar en oorlogsmisdadiger G.W. Bush, Michelle Obama een snoepje. Deze handeling leidde tot een meer dan belachelijke en hysterische reactie in de reguliere (massa-) media, waar men Bush als een geweldige en gevoelige man afschilderde.
Deze kontlikkerij van de reguliere media is niet alleen in het belang van Bush, maar uiteraard ook van die media zelf, immers zij hebben zonder enig onderzoek, laat staan kritiek de illegale oorlogen van die deze schoft begon van meet af aan gesteund (en zelfs nog daarvoor)……. Oorlogen tegen Afghanistan, Irak, Libië en Syrië, al zijn de laatste 2 van die oorlogen aangegaan door de Obama administratie, zometeen meer daarover. Oh nee, dom van mij, de oorlogen in Afghanistan en Irak zijn in feite nog steeds gaande en hebben intussen aan meer dan 2 miljoen mensen uit die 2 landen het leven gekost (alleen in Irak al meer dan 1,5 miljoen doden…..)….
Diezelfde massamedia hebben ‘uiteraard’ ook de illegale oorlogen van de Obama administratie uitentreuren gesteund. Het gaat dan om de illegale oorlogen tegen Libië en Syrië, naast een groot aantal geheime militaire operaties in andere delen van Afrika, plus de opstand in Oekraïne, die door Hillary Clinton, destijds minister van BuZa, werd georganiseerd (i.s.m. de CIA) en waar de VS 4 miljard dollar aan spendeerde……..
Gevolg van de gelukte opzet van die opstand in Oekraïne, een staatsgreep tegen de democratisch gekozen regering Janoekovytsj, heeft ervoor gezorgd dat de neonazi-junta van Porosjenko een oorlog begon tegen de Oekraïners in het oosten van het land, daar deze mensen niet wensten te leven onder de neonazi-junta van Porosjenko en terecht goed pissig waren over de coup tegen een o.a. door hen gekozen regering en president……..

Alle leugens gefabriceerd door de VS over Oekraïne werden en worden zonder enig commentaar overgenomen door de reguliere media, op aangeven van de geheime diensten van de VS en die van haar westerse partners….. Ga maar eens na wat diezelfde media te vertellen zouden hebben als er bijvoorbeeld eenzelfde staatsgreep zou hebben plaatsgevonden in een land als België…… De rapen zouden gaar zijn geweest en diezelfde media zouden moord en brand hebben geschreeuwd…… (hoewel, zouden ze dat ook doen als de VS ook in België de antidemocratische agressor zou zijn geweest?)

Voorts zijn er nog de moorden die de VS pleegt op verdachten, dit middels drones….. Dit terreurprogramma werd door Bush opgezet en in veel groter aantal door de Obama administratie overgenomen, intussen heeft Trump deze terreuraanslagen nog verder uitgebreid…… Hoe is het mogelijk dat zogenaamd onafhankelijke mediaorganen niet met hevige kritiek op deze standrechtelijke executies zijn gekomen, zeker nadat een paar jaar geleden al bekend werd gemaakt dat meer dan 90% van de slachtoffers van die VS terreuraanslagen, niet eens werden verdacht, dus vooral vrouwen en kinderen…???

“He has the presence of mind and the sense of humor to bring me a mint, and he made it a point to give me that mint right then and there and that’s the beauty of George Bush,” Obama said of the war criminal in conversation at the SAP Center over the weekend, which we apparently need to know about because the news is telling us about it.
“We’re all Americans. We all care about our family and our kids, and we’re trying to get ahead,” Obama continued. “And that’s how I feel about [Bush]. You know? He’s a beautiful, funny, kind, sweet man.”

If you’re starting to feel like attempts to rehabilitate George W Bush’s image are being aggressively shoved down your throat by the mass media at every opportunity, it’s because that is exactly what is happening. Every few weeks there’s a new deluge of headlines explaining to consumers of mainstream media why they should love the 43rd president because he’s such a cutesy wootsey cuddle pie, and completely forget about the piles upon piles of human corpses he is responsible for creating for no legitimate reason at all. The last Bush appreciation blitz was less than two weeks ago.
And there is a reason for this. Make no mistake, this relentless, aggressive campaign to rehabilitate George W Bush whether you like it or not is actually a campaign to rehabilitate what he did and the mass media’s unforgivable complicity in it.
The mass media failed spectacularly to practice due diligence and hold power to account in the lead-up to the illegal and unconscionable Iraq invasion, not just the ghouls at Fox News but respected centrist outlets like CNN, the New York Times and the Washington Post as well. Bogus government reports were passed on uncritically and unquestioned, antiwar demonstrations with hundreds of thousands of protesters were ignored and downplayed, and the words “Saddam Hussein” and “9/11” were deliberately mentioned in the same breath so frequently that seven out of ten Americans still believed Saddam was responsible for the September 11 attacks months after the Iraq invasion had occurred.

In an environment where the New York Times is instructing its readers how to “help fight the information wars” against Russia, the BBC is coaching its audience to scream the word “whataboutism” whenever a skeptic of establishment Russia narratives brings up Iraq, and the US Secretary of Defense is claiming that Putin is trying to “undermine America’s moral authority,” the massive credibility hit that imperial media and institutions took by deceiving the world into the destruction of Iraq matters. Propaganda is a lot more important in cold war than in hot war since avoiding direct military confrontation limits the options of the participants, and Iraq is a giant bullet hole in the narrative of US moral authority which Moscow is rightly all too happy to point out.

Without the claim of moral authority, none of America’s manipulations against Russia make any sense. It’s absurd for America to spend years shrieking about Russian election meddling after it openly rigged Russia’s elections in the nineties, unless America claims that it rigged Russia’s elections for moral reasons while Russia rigged America’s elections for immoral reasons. It makes no sense to have mainstream western media outlets uncritically manufacturing support for wars and coaching their audiences on how to help government agencies fight “information wars” against Russia while also criticizing RT as “state media”, unless you can say that western media functions as an arm of the US government for moral reasons while RT does so for immoral reasons. It makes no sense for the US to criticize Russian military interventionism when the US is vastly more guilty of vastly more egregious forms of military interventionism, unless the US can claim its interventionism is moral while Russia’s is immoral.

For this reason it’s been necessary to rehabilitate the image of the Iraq invasion, and since there is no aspect of the Iraq invasion itself that isn’t soaked in blood and gore, they are rehabilitating its most recognizable face instead. Mainstream media outlets are doing this both to restore their own credibility and the credibility of the US world order they serve, in order to help secure crucial narrative control as we slide ever closer to a direct military confrontation with Russia and/or China.
Whoever controls the narrative controls the world, and Iraq is a major weak point in the US-centralized empire’s narrative control. When you see a political insider like Michelle Obama constantly facilitating the mass media’s fixation on how cuddly wuddly George W Bush has become, you are not witnessing a heartwarming moment, you are not witnessing redemption, and you are most certainly not witnessing the news. You are witnessing war propaganda, plain and simple.

The Guardian durft te beweren dat Paul Manafort meermaals contact had met Julian Assange in de Ecuadoraanse ambassade in Londen, dit voorafgaand aan de verkiezingen in 2016, bovendien zou Manafort Assange eerder hebben bezocht in 2013 en 2015……..
Blijkbaar werkt de speciaal aanklager Robert Mueller samen met The Guardian in het promoten van het sprookje dat men ‘Russia Gate’ noemt, daar hij ‘geheel toevallig’ afgelopen maandag het bericht naar buiten bracht dat Manafort de voorwaarden voor een plea bargain had gebroken en meermaals heeft gelogen tegen de FBI (Manafort zit een gevangenisstraf uit)……. Sterker nog: Manafort zou volgens Mueller naast te hebben gelogen ook misdaden hebben begaan in een groot aantal zaken…….
The Guardian weet te melden dat de Ecuadoraanse inlichtingendienst bewijzen zou hebben van het bezoek dat Manafort bracht aan de Ecuadoraanse ambassade, dit nog naast dezelfde claim van een persoon die niet bekend is bij de FBI, ofwel een anonieme ‘bron….’
Volgens The Guardian heeft Manafort in de lente van 2016 een bezoek van 40 minuten gebracht aan Assange, waar men zelfs weet te vertellen welke kleding hij droeg (om twijfelaars te overtuigen…)…. Vreemd genoeg moeten bezoekers aan de Ecuadoraanse ambassade zich registreren, echter volgens medewerkers van de ambassade staat de naam Manafort niet één keer genoteerd in het betreffende register……..
Voorts weet The Guardian te melden dat de de Russiche militaire geheime dienst GROe de Democraten zou hebben gehackt, een claim waarvan we weten dat die totaal zonder enig bewijs keer op keer wordt herhaald…… Men wil zelfs niet uitgaan van de mogelijkheid dat de documenten lokaal, dus in de VS zijn gekopieerd en aan WikiLeaks zijn verzonden…..

Seth Rich, een medewerker van het DNC, het democratische campagneteam dat Hillary Clinton bijstond tijdens de voorverkiezingen, heeft uit frustratie over de smerige campagne van Clinton tegen de andere democratische kandidaat Bernie Sanders, een enorm aantal documenten gelekt naar WikiLeaks…… Enige tijd later zou Rich zijn vermoord tijdens een beroving, aldus de politie, waarbij vreemd genoeg niets van hem werd gestolen……..

The Guardian‘s report was written by Luke Harding and Dan Collyns, and was based exclusively on unnamed sources.

Paul Manafort, Donald Trump’s former campaign manager, held secret talks with Julian Assange inside the Ecuadorian embassy in London, right around the time he joined Trump’s campaign, according to The Guardian, which as is now the norm in reports of this kind refers to unnamed “sources.”

Sources have said Manafort went to see Assange in 2013, 2015 and in spring 2016 – during the period when he was made a key figure in Trump’s push for the White House.

It is unclear why Manafort wanted to see Assange and what was discussed. But the last meeting is likely to come under scrutiny and could interest Robert Mueller, the special prosecutor who is investigating alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.

A well-placed source has told the Guardian that Manafort went to see Assange around March 2016. Months later WikiLeaks released a stash of Democratic emails stolen by Russian intelligence officers. – The Guardian

The 69-year-old Manafort has denied any involvement in the release of the emails, and has said that the claim is “100% false.”
While Manafort was jailed this year under a plea agreement with special counsel Robert Mueller, on Monday, Mueller said that Manafort had repeatedly lied to the FBI, breaching his deal. According to documents filed in court, Manafort committed “crimes and lies” covering a “variety of subject matters.”

According to The Guardian, Manafort’s first visit to the Ecuadorian embassy occurred one year after Assange was granted asylum inside, according to two sources. To add icing to the cake, “a separate internal document written by Ecuador’s Senian Intelligence agency and seen by The Guardian lists “Paul Manaford [sic]” as one of Assange’s several well-known guests, along with… “Russians.”

According to two sources, Manafort returned to the embassy in 2015. He paid another visit in spring 2016, turning up alone, around the time Trump named him as his convention manager. The visit is tentatively dated to March.

Manafort’s 2016 visit to Assange lasted about 40 minutes, one source said, adding that the American was casually dressed when he exited the embassy, wearing sandy-coloured chinos, a cardigan and a light-coloured shirt.

Visitors normally register with embassy security guards and show their passports. Sources in Ecuador, however, say Manafort was not logged. – The Guardian

So we have Manafort allegedly visiting Assange, in sandy-coloured chinos, and that Russians also visited the WikiLeaks founder. And none of this was known until today.
The Guardian goes on to suggest that “The revelation could shed new light on the sequence of events in the run-up to summer 2016, when WikiLeaks published tens of thousands of emails hacked by the GRU*, Russia’s military intelligence agency. Hillary Clinton has said the hack contributed to her defeat.”
Note that The Guardian has considered the “hack” settled, which agrees with Western intelligence assessments (the same Western intelligence that conducted espionage on Donald Trump’s campaign). Nowhere to be found is the possibility that the emails were copied locally – a theory recently bolstered by a fresh analysis that flies in the face of a report commissioned by cybersecurity firm Crowdstrike – which was caught fabricating a report on Russia hacking Ukrainian munitions, and was forced to retract portions of their analysis after the government of Ukraine admonished them.

The Guardian goes on to link Manafort to “black operations” against the political rival of Ukraine’s former “Moscow-friendly president, Viktor Yanukovych,” and that Manafort “flew frequently from the US to Ukraine’s capital, Kiev – usually via Frankfurt but sometimes through London.”

Manafort is currently in jail in Alexandria, Virginia. In August a jury convicted him of crimes arising from his decade-long activities in Ukraine. They include large-scale money laundering and failure to pay US tax. Manafort pleaded guilty to further charges in order to avoid a second trial in Washington.

As well as accusing him of lying on Monday, the special counsel moved to set a date for Manafort to be sentenced.

One person familiar with WikiLeaks said Assange was motivated to damage the Democrats campaign because he believed a future Trump administration would be less likely to seek his extradition on possible charges of espionage. This fate had hung over Assange since 2010, when he released confidential US state department cables. It contributed to his decision to take refuge in the embassy. – The Guardian

And in perhaps the most shocking part of The Guardian‘s reporting, they refer to the highly salacious and largely discredited “Steele Dossier,”** saying that according to the document, Manafort was at the center of a “well-developed conspiracy of cooperation” between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin, and that both sides had a mutual interest in defeating Clinton, wrote former MI6 spy Christopher Steele.

In a memo written soon after the DNC emails were published, Steele said: “The [hacking] operation had been conducted with the full knowledge and support of Trump and senior members of his campaign team.” – The Guardian

You know things are desperate when the Steele Dossier makes a guest appearance to once again bolster unsupported reporting.

Russiagate sprookje ondermijnt VS democratie en de midterm verkiezingen

Alle verhalen over Russische manipulatie van verkiezingen zijn leugens, zo is intussen meer dan duidelijk geworden, echter de westerse (massa-) media en het grootste deel van de westerse politiek blijven deze leugen volhouden, immers als je een leugen dag in dag uit bij het publiek door de strot duwt, blijft deze bij een groot deel hangen als was het een waarheid als een koe…..
Professor Russische studies en politiek aan de Princeton University en de New York University (NYU), Stephen Cohen ziet het anders, volgens hem is er een kentering opgetreden en hij stelt daarbij dat juist door het hameren op die leugens, het publiek het vertrouwen en geloof in integere politiek verliest…. Ofwel de democratie zelf wordt aangetast met deze leugens en zoals in de kop gesteld het ondermijnt de democratie…….
Cohen bedoelt niet dat het (grootste deel van het) publiek doorheeft dat er wordt gelogen, echter de verhalen over de Russische bemoeienis richt bij dat publiek grote schade aan in het vertrouwen in de politiek…. Dit daar men zal denken dat zelfs al ‘één door de Russen gemanipuleerde of gestoken verkiezing’ zal leiden tot meer, ofwel ‘men heeft het manipuleren van de presidentsverkiezingen in 2016 niet kunnen voorkomen’, waarom dan nu wel??

 Het is al zo zot in de VS dat men het ontbreken van bewijzen voor Russische bemoeienis, wordt gezien als een bewijs voor de manipulatie die Trump in 2016 het presidentschap in de schoot heeft geworpen….. ha! ha! ha! ha! ha!
Jammer dat Cohen niets zegt over de politiek en het gehalte aan democratie in de VS*, immers als je niet van het christelijk geloof bent, of je hebt niet de grote bedrijven met kapitalen achter je staan, kan je het als kandidaat in deze immer weer gekochte verkiezingen wel vergeten, om over alle leugens waarmee men elkaar bestookt voorafgaand aan de verkiezingen nog maar te zwijgen, waar men ook mensen inzet om het publiek via de sociale media (en uiteraard via de reguliere media) te bestoken met leugens en achterklap……… (en dan nog durven lullen over Russische inmenging……)
Ik moet zeggen dat ik het niet met Cohen eens ben, waar hij een intellectueel uit Moskou citeert dat Russisch autoritarisme** niet door de politiek wordt bepaald, maar door de genen (van het Russische volk)…. Je reinste kul, hetzelfde soort gelul als het verhaal dat alle Nederlanders op klompen lopen….. Democratie moet groeien, niet alleen in de politiek, maar ook in het individu en gezien er van democratie nog maar kort sprake is in Rusland (en deze als de democratie in de VS bepaald niet volmaakt is), kan je niet stellen dat mensen niet open zouden staan voor democratie.

Het lullige is wel dat de Russen een hoop rottigheid zien in westerse ‘democratische landen’, dit doet de lust voor democratie op z’n zachtst gezegd geen goed…… (zie bijvoorbeeld hoe men in EU landen als Nederland met referenda is omgesprongen…..) Waar de macht van bedrijven, geheime diensten en terreurorganisaties als de NAVO over de westerse ‘democratieën’ niet vergeten moet worden…..

Allegations that Russia is still “attacking” US elections, now again in November, could delegitimize our democratic institutions.

Summarizing one of the themes in his new book, War with Russia? From Putin and Ukraine To Trump and Russiagate, Cohen argues that Russiagate allegations of Kremlin attempts to “undermine American democracy” may themselves erode confidence in those institutions.
Ever since Russiagate allegations began to appear more than two years ago, their core narrative has revolved around purported Kremlin attempts to “interfere” in the 2016 US presidential election on behalf of then-candidate Donald Trump. In recent months, a number of leading American media outlets have taken that argument even further, suggesting that Putin’s Kremlin actually put Trump in the White House and now is similarly trying to affect the November 6 midterm elections, particularly House contests, on behalf of Trump and the Republican Party. According to a page-one New York Times “report,” for example, Putin’s agents “are engaging in an elaborate campaign of ‘information warfare’ to interfere with the American midterm elections.”
Despite well-documented articles by Gareth Porter and Aaron Maté effectively dismantling these allegations about 2016 and 2018, the mainstream media continue to promote them. The occasionally acknowledged lack of “public evidence” is sometimes cited as itself evidence of a deep Russian conspiracy, of the Kremlin’s “arsenal of disruption capabilities…to sow havoc on election day.” (See the examples cited by Alan MacLeod at FAIR.org.)
Lost in these reckless allegations is the long-term damage they may themselves do to American democracy. Consider the following possibilities.
Even though still unproven, charges that the Kremlin put Trump in the White House have cast a large shadow of illegitimacy over his presidency and thus over the institution of the presidency itself. This is unlikely to end entirely with Trump. If the Kremlin had the power to affect the outcome of one presidential election, why not another one, whether won by a Republican or a Democrat? The 2016 presidential election was the first time such an allegation became widespread in American political history, but it may not be the last.
Now the same shadow looms over the November 6 elections and thus over the next Congress. If so, in barely two years, the legitimacy of two fundamental institutions of American representative democracy will have been challenged, also for the first time in history.
And if US elections are really so vulnerable to Russian “meddling,” what does this say about faith in American elections more generally? How many losing candidates on November 6 will resist blaming the Kremlin? Two years after the last presidential election, Hillary Clinton and her adamant supporters still have not been able to do so.
We know from critical reporting and from recent opinion surveys that the origins and continuing fixation on the Russiagate scandal since 2016 have been primarily a product of US political-intelligence-media elites. It did not spring from the American people—from voters themselves. Thus a Gallup poll recently showed that 57 percent of those surveyed wanted improved relations with Russia. And other surveys have shown that Russiagate is scarcely an issue at all for likely voters on November 6. Nonetheless, it remains a front-page issue for US elites.
Indeed, Russiagate has revealed the low esteem that many US political-media elites have for American voters—for their ability to make discerning, rational electoral decisions, which is the bedrock assumption of representative democracy. It is worth noting that this disdain for rank-and-file citizens echoes a longstanding attitude of the Russian political intelligentsia, as recently expressed in the argument by a prominent Moscow policy intellectual that Russian authoritarianism springs not from the nation’s elites but from the “genetic code” of its people.

US elites seem to have a similar skepticism about—or contempt for—American voters’ capacity to make discerning electoral choices. Presumably this is a factor behind the current proliferation of programs—official, corporate, and private—to introduce elements of censorship in the nation’s “media space” in order to filter out “Kremlin propaganda.” Here, it also seems, elites will decide what constitutes such “propaganda.”

Scott Ritter, voormalig VN-wapeninspecteur: Iran verdient de eer voor het verslaan van ISIS

In het hieronder opgenomen artikel, geschreven door voormalig VN-wapeninspecteur Scott Ritter en eerder gepubliceerd op The American Conservative, stelt hij dat niet de VS, maar vooral Iran de eer toekomt van het verslaan van IS in zowel Irak als Syrië…..
Ritter verhaalt over het ontstaan van IS en alle daarbij behorende gore spelletjes van de VS, waarbij hij de VS in feite beschuldigt van het beschermen van en samenwerken met IS, al was het alleen om Assad af te kunnen zetten en nu als stok tegen Iran te gebruiken…….. Intussen heeft IS al een paar aanslagen gepleegd in Iran (met de hulp van de CIA). Over de CIA gesproken: de VS heeft toegegeven dat het al jaren bezig is om de oppositie in Iran te steunen en op te zetten tegen de regering……. Zo zijn ook de zogenaamde opstanden die de laatste jaren in Iran plaatsvonden (uiterst gewelddadige ‘opstanden’), georganiseerd door de CIA…..
Scott Ritter was VN-wapeninspecteur voorafgaand aan de illegale oorlog van de VS tegen Irak in 2003. Keer op keer liet hij de VN, de reguliere (massa-) media en politici weten dat Irak niet langer de beschikking had over ‘massavernietigingswapens en dat dit uit en te na was onderzocht door hem en z’n team, waarbij Ritter uiteindelijk zijn gelijk haalde….. Lullig genoeg haalde hij z’n gelijk, pas lang nadat de VS Irak aanviel….* Deze illegale oorlog van de VS betekende de dood van meer dan nu al 1,5 miljoen mensen (in feite is de oorlog in Irak nog steeds gaande….)….. Ach ja, de VS: de grootste terreurentiteit op onze kleine aarde…….

Iran Deserves Credit for the Ruin of ISIS

But is the U.S. now allowing its last remnants to survive in Syria to spite Tehran?

Until recently the United States viewed the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, or ISIS, as a major threat to regional stability in the Middle East. Barack Obama made it a mission to roll back ISIS’s territorial and propagandistic gain, and Donald Trump campaigned on a promise to “kick ISIS’s ass.” The United States expended considerable effort, both military and political, in a campaign to defeat the terror group in Iraq and, to a lesser extent, in Syria.
But there is also no doubt that the bulk of the effort came from Iran, not the United States. Without Iranian involvement, ISIS would still have a formidable presence in both Iraq and Syria.
ISIS was born out of the ashes of the American invasion of Iraq. Their rise was the logical extension of a process that saw the fabric of secular Sunni society torn asunder by an American occupier unwilling to further empower a Sunni ruling elite that had been loyal to Saddam Hussein. Washington failed to understand the resentment engendered within the Sunni community when Iraq’s Shia, some of whom were beholden to Iran, came to power.
Traditional Sunni tribal power structures were eviscerated as a result, only to be replaced with radicalized Sunni youths beholden to only themselves. Al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI) was al-Qaeda in name only—its mission wasn’t to export jihad to the West, but to free Iraq from the grips of an American and Iranian occupation.
America’s campaign against AQI never resulted in that movement’s destruction. Instead, the United States, in an effort to free itself of the burden of war created when it invaded Iraq in the first place, withdrew from Iraq in 2012, leaving the final phase of AQI’s destruction in the hands of the Iraqi government. This period coincided with the start of the civil unrest in Syria and the creation of a radicalized Islamist opposition to Syria’s president, Bashar al-Assad. The willingness to cede large swaths of Syrian territory to Islamist forces as a means of destabilizing Assad created the conditions for the birth of ISIS in the deserts of both central Syria and western Iraq.
When ISIS advanced on the Iraqi cities of Ramadi and Fallujah, the American-trained and -equipped Iraqi army was unable to halt its advance. Soon the major city of Mosul fell to ISIS, and its forces pushed down the Tigris River valley to the outskirts of Baghdad.
The story of Iraq’s struggle to form a viable resistance to ISIS in the aftermath of the fall of Mosul is little known, and even less appreciated, by the United States. The formation of so-called “Popular Mobilization Forces,” or PMF—organized at the behest of Iraq’s senior Shia leadership, and trained, equipped, and led by Iran—was the single most important factor behind the halting of ISIS’s drive on Baghdad and its eventual eviction from Iraqi territory.
Western media have paid a disproportionate amount of attention to the actions of a select few American-trained Iraqi security forces, which, with ample support from U.S. airpower and advisors, helped end fighting in and around Mosul. All the while, they’ve ignored that the lion’s share of the fighting was done by the Iranian-directed PMF. This fact was not lost on the Iraqi people, many of whom (though not many of the Sunnis) hold the PMF in the highest regard. This sentiment has propelled many of the senior leadership of the PMF into political prominence in Baghdad.
For Iran, the ISIS phenomenon is not limited to Iraq. It is seen as part and parcel of a concerted effort undertaken by the United States, Saudi Arabia, and the Gulf Arab nations to overthrow Assad in Syria, diminish the power and influence of Hezbollah in Lebanon, and roll back Iranian influence in both Syria and Iraq. ISIS’s geographic presence in Syria, concentrated as it was in the central and northeastern deserts, made it a secondary target compared to the al-Qaeda affiliates operating in and around Aleppo and Damascus.
As the Syrian government, with the assistance of Russia, Iran, and Hezbollah, gained the upper hand in the fight against the American- and Saudi-backed al-Qaeda groups, however, the importance of ISIS as a source of anti-regime resistance grew. While ISIS never had the power to challenge Damascus directly, the efforts undertaken by the Syrian coalition to defeat ISIS diverted resources needed in the larger fight. As such, the continued existence of a viable ISIS presence on Syrian soil was deemed an acceptable outcome by the United States as it sought to contain Iran’s presence on Syrian soil.
ISIS in Syria lingers on, despite the fact that U.S. military power could ensure its almost immediate elimination. The reason for the stay of execution is not entirely clear, but it could well be that the U.S. sees ISIS as a useful foil against Iran. Efforts by the United States to roll back Iran’s presence inside Syria have recently become more volatile in the wake of fiery rhetoric from senior Trump administration officials and actions undertaken by Iran to harden their positions. The American policy of Iranian rollback includes the re-imposition of economic sanctions and support for opposition groups opposed to the Iranian theocracy.
The latter point is very sensitive. This sensitivity has only been heightened by remarks from Saudi Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman suggesting that any struggle for influence between Riyadh and Tehran ought to take place “inside Iran, not in Saudi Arabia,” and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s encouraging Iranian Arab minorities to rise up in opposition to the Iranian government.
When gunmen linked to ISIS attacked a military parade in the Iranian city of Ahvaz, killing and wounding dozens, the Iranian government was quick to blame the United States and Saudi Arabia, among others, and promise retaliation in kind. This prompted National Security Advisor John Bolton to declare to Iran that “there will indeed be hell to pay” if Iran or its proxies attacked the U.S. or its allies.
A few days later, Iranian rockets were launched, not against American targets in Basra, but locations in Syria linked to ISIS. While the Iranian strike was in clear retaliation for the Ahvaz attack, the rockets were emblazoned with slogans hostile to the United States, Saudi Arabia, and Israel. This made it clear that the strike was meant for a broader audience. Among those who took notice were the American forces located a mere three miles away from the targets struck by the Iranians.
Rising tensions and strong rhetoric, if not carefully managed, could easily lead to an unintended—and dangerous—escalation of hostilities. This could test President Donald Trump’s uncertain appetite for direct conflict. Moreover, the American effort to stir up an Iranian opposition could do more to unite competing power factions within Iran’s leadership, and unite Iranians behind that leadership, than to divide and weaken the Iranian polity. The Trump administration seems to operate under the delusion that Iran’s president, Hassan Rouhani, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), and Iran’s supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, are operating in different spheres with somewhat disparate interests. U.S. efforts to drive a wedge between Rouhani and Khamenei will not only prove fruitless, but backfire, closing the door to any potential negotiations and cementing a hardline response that will have Rouhani, the IRGC, and the supreme leader united in their opposition.
The United States is engaged in a dangerous double game with ISIS that is not only hypocritical in the extreme—given the 9/11 attacks on American soil that precipitated this whole sorry affair—but counterproductive to American national security interests. It has both empowered and legitimized the very Iranian theocracy it seeks to contain.
Rather than relying on ISIS as a foil to blunt Iranian influence in Syria and terrorize its citizenry at home, the Trump administration should recognize the positive role that Iran has played in defeating ISIS. It should build upon that recognition to craft a wider regional peace process that both recognizes the realities inherent in Syria today and reduces the tensions that prompt Iran to lean forward in such an aggressive manner. Unfortunately, such thinking seems beyond the capabilities of Mike Pompeo and John Bolton. As such, America will continue to pursue poorly thought out policies with no chance of success without any thought to either cost or consequence.

Zo is de zogenaamd wetenschappelijke site ‘PropOr Not’, dat zich in de praktijk bezighoudt met het brengen van anti-Russische propaganda, onderdeel van The Interpreter en dat is op haar beurt onderdeel van Broadcasting Board of Governors, een organisatie die VS propaganda over de wereld verspreid met een stuk of zes mediaorganen zoals ‘Voice of America’ (VOA).

 Ook de Atlantic Council is een lobbyorgaan van het militair-industrieel complex, waar de NAVO een dikke vinger in de smerige pap heeft…….

Victims of Facebook’s most recent purge should not forget the connections between the social media giant and the Western Military-Industrial Complex.

(CR) — On Thursday, Facebook announced they were unpublishing, or purging, over 500 pages and 200 accounts who are accused of spreading political spam. Several of these pages and writers were also removed from Twitter on the same day.

“Today, we’re removing 559 Pages and 251 accounts that have consistently broken our rules against spam and coordinated inauthentic behavior,” Facebook stated in a blog post. Facebook states that the people behind this alleged spam “create networks of Pages using fake accounts or multiple accounts with the same names” and “post the same clickbait posts in dozens of Facebook Groups”.
Essentially, Facebook is accusing these pages of writing articles related to politics and then using the social media platform to…. post the articles in as many places as possible to reach as many people as possible. Hardly dangerous or scary stuff. However, these actions are in violation of Facebook’s Terms of Service. Facebook also accused the pages and accounts of using their fake accounts to generate fake likes and shares which may artificially inflate their reach and mislead people about their popularity. According to Facebook, “This activity goes against what people expect on Facebook, and it violates our policies against spam.”
Facebook also stated that “sensational political content” from across the political spectrum is being used to “build an audience and drive traffic to their websites, earning money for every visitor to the site”. Again, this does not qualify as dangerous or threatening activity. This is a standard practice for most media outlets who are trying to earn revenue to pay writers, editors, social media managers, etc. It is true that some of the pages on this list (see below for a current list) have indeed used clickbait headlines or even posts that are likely untrue. However, the list also includes legitimate independent news outlets such as The Anti Media, The Free Thought Project, Cop Block, and Police the Police, which focused on countering mainstream and establishment narratives related to politics and police.
Facebook’s statement that the pages and accounts were “often indistinguishable from legitimate political debate” begs the question – which pages and accounts are “legitimate political debate”? And by which metric does Facebook decide what counts as legitimate? These questions are yet to be answered. Perhaps with time Facebook will come clean about their process, but in the meantime it’s important to reflect on Facebook’s recent partnership with the Atlantic Council and attempts to stifle the flow of information in the name of fighting “fake news”.
The fight against Fake News started immediately following the election of Donald Trump. In November 2016, Merrimack College associate professor Melissa Zimdars posted a public Google document titled, “False, Misleading, Clickbait-y, and/or Satirical ‘News’ Sources” which went viral after being reported on by most corporate mainstream outlets. This list lumped in some of the same outlets which fell victim to Facebook’s most recent purge with actual fake news websites which are well known among the indie and alt media industry. Within a matter of weeks, a new list appeared online from an organization calling itself PropOrNot, an allegedly independent group of researchers trying to find the truth about the dissemination of Russian propaganda and fake news. This list also contained names of prominent independent media outlets like Anti-Media, The Corbett Report, MintPress News, and many others.
It was this combination of the Zimdars list and the PropOrNot list which had the immediate effect of placing a target on the vast majority of independent journalists and outlets who were now being accused of directly or indirectly conspiring with the Russians. Websites and social media pages for these outlets began suffering a drastic reduction in reach and interaction with their audiences and many websites lost access to Google advertising money due to these false associations.
The problem is that the majority of the mainstream media unquestionably reported on and repeated the claims made by these two lists without any attempt at investigative work. For example, PropOrNot claims they are “completely independent” and “nonpartisan” because they are not funded by anyone and have no formal institutional affiliations or political connections.
They say the must remain anonymous for now because they are a “are civilian Davids taking on a state-backed adversary Goliath”. However, a report by Russian news outlet Sputnik (yes, I am aware many readers will automatically scream, “Fake news!”, but I encourage you to read on.) challenges the alleged unbiased nature of PropOrNot.


 Sputnik reports that George Eliason, a Ukraine-based investigative journalist, authored an expose of PropOrNot in which he argued the organization was a “deep-state hitjob on alternative news outlets”.
“So when you’re looking at PropOrNot, it’s just basic investigative techniques. Who are they — that’s the first thing you need to know,” Eliason told Sputnik. “So you look them up on the web and you find nothing. I went to their website and did a basic scan, and the funny thing about PropOrNot is that to get into their website, you need to be logged into the dashboard of The Interpreter magazine.”

 So who runs The Interpreter?
Eliason states that “The Interpreter is also overseen by the the Broadcasting Board of Governors, who run Voice of America and half a dozen other US propaganda projects across the globe”.
In addition, “The Interpreter is a product of the Atlantic Council committee, who is basically setting our foreign policy right now in Eastern Europe and Russia,” Eliason stated. “They’re an NGO, they work outside the government, and they work with the Ukrainian diaspora. They actually have a signed contract with the diaspora — you can view them signing it.”

 The important takeaway from this report is that only 4 months later, in May 2018, Facebook announced a new partnership with the Atlantic Council – the same think tank tied to PropOrNot – which officially claims to provide a forum for international political, business, and intellectual leaders. Facebook said the partnership is aimed at preventing the social media tool from “being abused during elections.” The press release promoted Facebook’s efforts to fight fake news by using artificial intelligence, as well as working with outside experts and governments.
The Atlantic Council of the United States was established in 1961 to bolster support for international relations. Although not officially connected to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, the Atlantic Council has spent decades promoting causes and issues which are beneficial to NATO member states. In addition, The Atlantic Council is a member of the Atlantic Treaty Organization, an umbrella organization which “acts as a network facilitator in the Euro-Atlantic and beyond.” The ATA* works similarly to the Atlantic Council, bringing together political leaders, academics, military officials, journalists and diplomats to promote values that are favorable to the NATO member states. Officially, ATA is independent of NATO, but the line between the two is razor thin.
Essentially, the Atlantic Council is a think tank which can offer companies or nation states access to military officials, politicians, journalists, diplomats, etc. to help them develop a plan to implement their strategy or vision. These strategies often involve getting NATO governments or industry insiders to make decisions they might not have made without a visit from the Atlantic Council team. This allows individuals or nations to push forth their ideas under the cover of hiring what appears to be a public relations agency but is actually selling access to high-profile individuals with power to affect public policy. Indeed, everyone from George H.W. Bush to Bill Clinton to the family of international agent of disorder Zbigniew Brzezinski have spoken at or attended council events.
The list of financial supporters reads like a who’s-who of think tanks and Non-Governmental Organizations. The Atlantic Council receives funding from the Brookings Institution, Carnegie Endowment, Cato Institute, Council on Foreign Relations, and the Rand Corporation, to name a few. In addition, various members of the Military-Industrial Complex are benefactors of the Atlantic Council, including Huntington Ingalls, the United States’ sole maker of aircraft carriers; Airbus, the plane manufacturer; Lockheed Martin, the shipbuilder and aviation company; and Raytheon, which makes missile systems. All of the companies have contracts with the U.S.
Department of Defense and offer financial support to the Atlantic Council. The Council also receives support from Chevron and the Thomson Reuters Foundation. Finally, the Atlantic Council receives direct financial support from the U.S. Departments of the Air Force, Army, Navy and Energy and from the U.S. Mission to NATO.
Is it possible Facebook is acting under the direction of their partners at the Atlantic Council to suppress anti-war, anti-establishment voices three weeks before the U.S. midterm elections? It is absolutely possible and likely.
We should also remember this is not the first time Facebook has deleted accounts which operate outside the mainstream corporate media. In August, Facebook deleted accounts containing “fringe or holistic medicine”, including Just Natural Medicine (1 million followers), Natural Cures Not Medicine (2.3 million followers), and People’s Awakening (3.6 million followers). The same month Facebook and Twitter deleted pages they claimed were connected to Iran and Russia.
This entire ongoing attack of independent media and free thought stemmed from the establishment media’s nonstop coverage of what has become known as fake news. Anyone and everyone who has countered the establishment narrative of endless war, a growing surveillance and police state, and an allegedly growing divide in American politics, has been labeled a Russian bot, accomplice, or useful idiot. One way or another, the message is clear: stand against the establishment and you will be labeled an enemy of the state.
By spreading the fake news meme the elitists behind the American power centers are able to attack growing independent media icons by painting them as propagators of false Russian propaganda. The media is also using this fake news meme and Russian prop to accuse Trump of being an illegitimate president, further playing into the “Trump is an outsider” narrative. All of this is being done with the goal of keeping the domestic front as divided as possible while selling the brainwashed masses into another war. Coincidentally, all of this non-sense is taking place while the corporate media spreads lies about Syria and Russia.
It’s more important than ever to remain level headed and use critical thinking. It’s never been more important to follow the pages that were purged directly from their websites. See the full list below and decide which outlets you want to continue to support in the information war.
