VS vermoordt 40 burgers in de Syrische provincie Deir ez-Zor

Weer heeft de VS burgerdoelen aangevallen in de Oost-Syrische provincie Deir ez-Zor en weer gaat het om de plaats Hajin, waarbij dit keer 40 burgers werden vermoord, veelal vrouwen en kinderen, zo berichtte Press TV afgelopen zaterdag…….. Twee dagen eerder werden 17 mensen van dezelfde familie vermoord bij een aanval van de VS coalitie…… Deze terreurcoalitie is volkomen illegaal in Syrië aanwezig, waarnaast deze aanvallen ook nog eens ernstige oorlogsmisdaden zijn, de bombardementen door de VS coalitie (NAVO leden….) kunnen niet anders worden gezien dan grootschalige terreur…….
Eerder vermoordde de VS terreurcoalitie al 6 burgers in dezelfde provincie en op 13 november j.l. maakte het Syrische ministerie van buitenlandse zaken bekend dat dezelfde VS terreurcoalitie 60 burgers heeft vermoord in de stad al-Shafaah…….
Het Syrische ministerie van buitenlandse zaken stelt voorts dat de VS coalitie met opzet Syrische burgers vermoord en daarbij ook nog eens het verboden chemische wapen witte fosfor gebruikt….. (de VS coalitie, bestaande uit de VS en andere NAVO leden, maakt zoals vanaf het begin van de VS bemoeienis, amper slachtoffers onder terreurgroep IS….) Het ministerie verlangt een internationaal onderzoek naar de oorlogsmisdaden van de VS coalitie en stelt daarbij dat alle resoluties van de VN-Veiligheidsraad t.a.v. Syrië op grote schaal worden geschonden, o.a. door:
  • het eerder genoemde vermoorden van Syrische burgers
  • het onnodig verlengen van de strijd in Syrië
  • het vernietigen van de Syrische infrastructuur, inclusief grote delen van steden en dorpen
  • het ondermijnen van de nationale integriteit en de soevereiniteit van Syrië……..
De westerse wereld staat op de kop staat als het reguliere Syrische leger burgerslachtoffers maakt en dat n.a.v. berichten die de ‘gematigde terreurgroepen’ (lees: psychopathische moordenaars, verkrachters en martelbeulen) laten verspreiden door o.a. het Syrisch Observatorium voor Mensenrechten (SOHR)…… Berichten die voor het overgrote deel niet kunnen worden gecontroleerd en bij controle ‘iets te vaak’ op leugens blijken te berusten…….. Terwijl diezelfde westerse wereld continu wegkijkt als de VS terreurcoalitie de ene slachting na de andere aanricht onder Syrische burgers…… (nogmaals: bestaande uit NAVO lidstaten o.l.v. de VS, de grootste terreurentiteit op aarde)

Dozens of civilians, mostly women and children, have been killed when the US-led coalition purportedly fighting the Daesh Takfiri terrorist group conducted fresh airstrikes against residential areas in Syria’s eastern province of Dayr al-Zawr.

Local sources, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Syria’s official news agency SANA that US-led military aircraft struck the village of al-Buqa’an on the outskirts of Hajin town on Saturday, leaving at least 40 people dead.
The development came only two days after 17 people of the same family lost their lives when US-led coalition fighter jets fired missiles into buildings in Albu Badran village.
Most of the slain civilians had apparently been displaced earlier from the nearby town of al-Baghuz in the Abu Kamal district of Dayr al-Zawr province. The town has recently witnessed fierce clashes between Daesh terrorists and militants from the Kurdish Democratic Union Party.

Separately on Thursday, US-led warplanes struck al-Susah village in the same Syrian province. Six civilians were killed and several buildings destroyed in the aerial attacks.
On November 13, the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned a recent airstrike by the US-led coalition against the eastern town of al-Shaafah, which left more than 60 people dead and injured, arguing that the massacre clearly pointed to the fact that members of the military alliance had no respect for moral values, international rules and regulations besides the lives of innocent civilians.
The ministry, in two separate letters, addressed to United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres and the rotating president of the UN Security Council Ma Zhaoxu, called on the Security Council to fulfill its responsibilities and stop US-led aerial assaults.

It also asked the world body to propose an international, independent and impartial mechanism to investigate the crimes being perpetrated by the US-led coalition.
The letters noted that the coalition was deliberately targeting Syria civilians and making use of internationally banned weapons, including white phosphorus bombs, in Syria.
The ministry stressed that US-led coalition airstrikes were meant to kill as many Syrian people as possible, prolong the ongoing Syrian conflict, destroy the country’s infrastructure and undermine its sovereignty and territorial integrity in flagrant violation of all UN Security Council resolutions on Syria.
The letters concluded that the embarrassing silence of the Security Council had encouraged the US-led coalition to kill more Syrian civilians and destroy their property.

The US-led coalition has been conducting airstrikes against what are said to be Daesh targets inside Syria since September 2014 without any authorization from the Damascus government or a UN mandate.

The military alliance has repeatedly been accused of targeting and killing civilians. It has also been largely incapable of achieving its declared goal of destroying Daesh.

Machthebbers en elite misbruiken media en fake news voor uitbreiding en bestendiging van macht…….

Oké mensen, niets nieuws, maar gezien het continu volhouden van leugens in de reguliere westerse media (en door het grootste deel van de politici), kan de waarheid niet vaak genoeg herhaald worden (als was het tegengif), inclusief het noemen van de bewijzen dat het om leugens gaat. Dat geldt bijvoorbeeld voor alle leugens over ‘fake news’ (nepnieuws), maar ook die over de illegale oorlogen van de VS tegen Afghanistan, Irak, Libië, Syrië, Iran en Venezuela (de laatste 2 een economische oorlog die deze landen op de knieën moeten krijgen voor de VS…..)…….

Overigens zijn de reguliere westerse (massa-) media in handen van super welgestelden (plutocraten) en investeringsmaatschappijen, die daarmee die media al sturen, ofwel winst über alles! Die winst gaat op zeker ver voor de waarheid, waarbij het inhumane neoliberalisme (‘fascisme light’) ten koste van alles moet worden beschermd en gepropageerd……. Over manipulaties gesproken……
Kit Klarenberg is de schrijver van het hieronder opgenomen artikel, eerder geplaatst op Sputnik, daarin beschrijft zij het boek van T.J. Coles met de volgende titel: ‘Real Fake News: Techniques of Propaganda and Deception-based Mind Control’.

Coles gaat ook in op de geschiedenis van fake news, maar dan wel het ‘fake news’ dat machthebbers gebruiken om hun positie veilig te stellen…… Het eerst bekende gebruik van fake news was dat door de Babylonische heersers, die daarmee hun goddelijke aanwijzing probeerden te bewijzen (en dat lukte destijds wonderwel goed, later nam het christelijk geloof het over om de koning en koningin als door god gegeven functies neer te zetten, deze achterlijke gedachtekronkel werd ook in de bijbel opgenomen). Terwijl de adel aanvankelijk bestond uit de sterkste en wreedste boeren die de boel met veel geweld onder hun duim wisten te houden en het volk uitbuitten tot het erbij neerviel……..
Trouwens over religies of geloven gesproken: als er één groot fake gebeuren is zijn het de religies wel, al gaat het dan in het westen wel over ‘lang’ vervlogen tijden, tegenwoordig gebruikt men zoals gezegd de media (en de politiek) als vehikel om ‘fake news’ (nepnieuws) te brengen……. De voorbeelden van het verkondigen van fake news zijn overweldigend zie wat dat betreft niet alleen het bericht hierna, maar ook de links die na dat artikel zijn opgenomen.

HOW ELITES USE MAINSTREAM MEDIA TO ‘MAINTAIN AND EXPAND THEIR POWER’

Fake News
(Sputnik) – For quite some time, debate about ‘fake news’ has reverberated clamorously in both mainstream and alternative discourse. One could easily conclude the issue was a pressingly new plague, restricted to certain corners of the web – but academic TJ Coles begs to differ. In fact, he tells Sputnik fake news has been ubiquitous for thousands of years.
It’s difficult to pinpoint the precise moment the term ‘fake news’ entered the Western political and media lexicon, but the election of Donald Trump as US President certainly turbocharged its usage. For the controversial leader and his supporters, the label can be automatically applied to any and all media reporting critical of him, while his opponents play much the same game when roles are reversed.
This tit-for-tat sparring inspired TJ, director of the Institute for Peace Research, to write a book on the subject — the fruit of his labours, Real Fake News: Techniques of Propaganda and Deception-based Mind Control, was published in September.
“All that talk made me think ‘hang on a minute, we’ve always had fake news’. It’s the nature of power — all power structures want to maintain and expand their power, so it’s therefore important to present information that benefits them, and keeps populations in a psychological and/or intellectual prison. The ‘fake news’ peddled by elite financial, commercial and political financial interests, duly regurgitated by major media organizations, eclipses any bogus story perpetuated by alleged ‘bots’ on Twitter, or whatever,” TJ says.

BABYLONIAN BEGINNINGS

In his work, TJ traces the birth of fake news all the way back to ancient Babylon, when rulers sought to perpetuate the notion they were descended from Gods and thus had a right to dominate and control the populace — history’s first recorded instance of the ‘divine right of kings’.
Similarly, Plato famously popularized the idea of the ‘noble lie’ — privileging untruths told for the benefit of elites and the population alike. These ideas very much endure in the modern day — TJ notes Wikileaks’ dump of the Clinton campaign’s internal emails amply demonstrates her team felt it wouldn’t be good, or necessary, for Hillary’s supporters to be aware of her close connections to Wall Street, so did their utmost to conceal the mephitic kinship.
“Elites the world over are acutely aware information is power, and actually quite open about their use and abuse of the news to shape public perceptions and preserve sociopolitical conditions benefitting them. For instance, the UK Ministry of Defence regularly publishes projections of how planners think the world will look in 10 — 20 years, and they routinely note the media is one of the key ways to maintain the current paradigm, and discuss the various ways information can be ‘weaponized’ against the public,” he says.
TJ suggests elites shape and control the public mind so effectively because they exploit fundamental facets of human nature. First, the well-established instinctive inclination to reflexively believe something reinforcing one’s existing beliefs, rather than assessing whether alternative facts or viewpoints have any value, or indeed considering whether what one believes might be wrong, or informed by confirmation bias.
This tendency is greatly exacerbated by the use of internet and social media algorithms that present a ‘personalized’ picture of the world to users, unfailingly presenting individuals with content they want to see, and tacitly suppressing information contrary to their existing opinions.
“Elites also know how easy it is to exploit guilt, which is why atrocity propaganda is so widespread today. Most sympathize with the victims of major atrocities, and naturally want to do something to help, so this aspect of human nature can be easily manipulated to justify aggressive foreign policy actions — ‘look at what we’re letting happen to poor defenceless people, we have a responsibility to protect them’ etcetera. It’s funny, when it comes to the economy, the powerful are quick to say people are naturally selfish, so it’s everyone for themselves, but when it comes to foreign policy, we should care about our fellow human beings and do something to help,” TJ says.

ABSENCE IS EVIDENCE

As the academic’s work makes clear, atrocity propaganda doesn’t even need to have any grounding in reality whatsoever. In the lead-up to the NATO-backed violent overthrow of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi in 2011, the mainstream media was awash with reports government forces fuelled by viagra were conducting mass rapes of civilians, and planning a borderline genocidal massacre of rebel forces — claims used to justify the imposition of a no-fly zone over the country, and NATO airstrikes.
The stories were subsequently found to be entirely without foundation — similarly, serious question marks hover over the veracity of numerous claimed chemical weapons attacks in Syria, which likewise have provided a pretext for Western attacks on the country.
“It’s especially easy to exploit guilt when you present bite-sized news reports about an atrocious event stripped of all context, and exclude the voices of people who are actually on the ground. Occasionally, contradictory voices do filter through the system, although largely by accident. For instance, the BBC made the mistake of inviting Peter Ford, former UK ambassador to Syria, on air to discuss chemical weapons attacks — he quickly demolished their propaganda. He hasn’t been invited back since,” TJ says.
Ford is surely but one of a great many talking heads to effectively be banned from appearing on the BBC for daring to state views and evidence contrary to ascendant elite narratives. However, the British state broadcaster’s blacklisting activities also extend to its own employees — in April 2018, the BBC admitted that for decades, job applicants and serving staff were subject to political vetting by MI5, in an effort to prevent “subversives” gaining employment with the Corporation.
Often, individuals were ostracized on extremely tenuous grounds. For instance, respected film director John Goldschmidt was blacklisted in the late 1960s, with two projects he was working on for the Beeb cancelled midway through production without warning or explanation — MI5 deemed him a potential subversive as he’d spent a few weeks in Czechoslovakia in his youth, as part of a student exchange program. Similarly, award-winning journalist Isabel Hilton was refused a job by BBC Scotland in 1976 — that she spoke Chinese and had been a member of Scottish China Association at Edinburgh University made MI5 extremely anxious.
Under the policy, popular children’s book author and playwright Michael Rosen was also outright sacked from the BBC in 1972 while a graduate trainee for a number of ‘transgressions’, including student activism at Oxford, and producing a film featuring clips of US soldiers being tested with LSD. The American Embassy in London complained about the project to both MI5 and the BBC directly, whereupon Rosen was shown the door.
The policy was wound down in the 1990s, and it’s unknown whether any comparable structures existed at other major news organizations — although City University research suggests dissenting voices remain rare in the British mainstream media. The 2016 study concluded UK journalists are overwhelmingly white, male, and elite-university educated — and are far more trusting of politicians, the government, police and military than the general population, which the study’s authors partly attributed to reporters’ “reliance on these institutions as sources of information”.
Such widespread faith in the establishment may account for why so many prominent reporters see no problem with maintaining close relationships with the intelligence services. The Guardian’s Luke Harding has frequently, openly and proudly advertised his warm bond with British spying agencies in articles and books — and equally frequently been condemned for uncritically running stories of questionable probity potentially provided to him by agency staff. In a September article he claimed Russian diplomats had held secret talks in London with associates of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, in an attempt to assist in his escape from the UK. The covert action would’ve allegedly seen Assange smuggled out of the Ecuadorian embassy in Knightsbridge under cover of Christmas Eve in a diplomatic vehicle and transported to Moscow.
The story was entirely based on the testimony of anonymous sources, the identity of which Harding didn’t even hint at in the piece. In response, Craig Murray, former UK Ambassador to Uzbekistan, slammed the article, calling it a “quite extraordinary set of deliberate lies” and “entirely black propaganda” published by an “MI6 tool”.
“I was closely involved with Julian and with Fidel Narvaez of the Ecuadorean Embassy at the end of last year in discussing possible future destinations for Julian. It is not only the case Russia did not figure in those plans, it is a fact Julian directly ruled out the possibility as undesirable. The entire story is a complete and utter fabrication. It is very serious indeed when a newspaper like the Guardian prints a tissue of deliberate lies in order to spread fake news on behalf of the security services. I cannot find words eloquent enough to express the depth of my contempt for Harding and Katherine Viner, who have betrayed completely the values of journalism,” Murray wrote.
Similarly, in 2007 the Campaign Against Sanctions and Military Intervention in Iran published an analysis of 44 articles written by Daily Telegraph Defence Editor Con Couglin on Iran — including stories suggesting North Korea was helping Tehran prepare a nuclear weapons test, and the country was grooming Bin Laden’s successor. They found the pieces almost invariably were based on “unnamed or untraceable” sources in intelligence agencies or the UK Foreign Office and “published at sensitive and delicate times” when there’d been “relatively positive diplomatic moves” towards Iran, and contained ‘exclusive revelations’ about Iran combined with eye-catchingly controversial headlines, which were typically based on a single sentence in the wider article.

PRISON BREAK

Despite his bleak analysis, TJ does not view the elite monopoly on information as insurmountable, or invincible — there’s much individuals and groups can do to shatter the stranglehold.
“People should keep a keen eye on sources that analyse news reporting and misreporting, such as Glasgow University Media Group and MediaLens, which offer alternative information and tell you what media coverage is actively omitting from the real story. However, change must come from within too — people should divorce themselves from preconceptions, and question their beliefs wherever and whenever possible. When presented with information that doesn’t conform to our predispositions, we should ask ourselves whether it’s true, rather than reflexively dismissing it outright,” TJ says.
While having less trust in the media more generally is a must, the academic also warns against placing too much faith in alternative news outlets and social networks, despite them being valuable resources with a significant positive potential.
“Independent media is growing in size and strength, but its overall reach is still relatively tiny — while print circulation is obviously down, people still get the vast bulk of their information from mainstream outlets. Similarly, social media could’ve democratized the spread of information, but it hasn’t — and in fact any such potential has probably been neutered by the proliferation of ‘fact-checking’ resources, which are anything but unbiased and disinterested arbiters of truth,” TJ notes.
One-such ‘fact-checker’ is the Atlantic Council, a NATO-offshoot with a board of directors comprised of a ‘who’s who’ of contentious US political figures, including Henry Kissinger, Condoleezza Rice, Colin Powell, Robert Gates, Michael Hayden and David Petraeus, among others.
It partnered with Facebook in May to “independently monitor disinformation and other vulnerabilities” and combat the spread of fake news on the platform. To date, the collaboration has resulted in untold hundreds of pages and personal accounts being shut down — rather than being promulgators of propaganda though, the overwhelming bulk of the banished were alternative news sources, political organizations and individuals, highlighting issues and events the mainstream media downplays or ignores, such as US interventionism, drug legalization and police brutality.
Moreover, that elites exploit social media’s information-sharing capabilities to suit their own objectives is well-established.
“The US State Department has used major social networks to recruit revolutionaries on several occasions, most notably during the ‘Arab Spring’, connecting ‘moderate rebels’ — actually violent jihadist lunatics — in select countries. Washington wanted Assad, Gaddafi and Mubarak gone, because they weren’t following orders — but there were no Twitter or Facebook ‘revolutions’ in the Gulf states, because the American empire wanted their rulers to remain in place. In Cuba, the CIA even went as far as creating a social network for the same purpose,” TJ concludes.

De zogenaamde oorlog tegen terreur die door de VS n.a.v. de aanslagen van 9/11 werd opgetuigd, moet worden uitgelegd als grootschalige terreur van de VS tegen landen die niet gehoorzaam doen wat het VS imperium verlangt…….. Sinds de VS met haar grootschalige terreur begon in Afghanistan in 2001, gevolgd door Irak in 2003, en daarna in Pakistan, Libië, Syrië, Jemen en een paar andere Afrikaanse landen (anders dan Libië), heeft de VS dus naar schatting al 5,9 biljoen dollar uitgegeven aan deze illegale oorlogen, dan wel militaire steun aan oorlogen……….
Volgens de schrijver van het hieronder opgenomen artikel, Jason Ditz, zitten die kosten niet alleen in de oorlogen zelf, maar ook in medische zorg voor veteranen en in rentes op leningen om die oorlogen te kunnen voeren…… Daarover gesproken: de totale schuld van de VS is zo groot, dat deze vereniging van terreurstaten volgens een aantal financieel deskundigen in feite failliet is…… Het feit dat de dollar nog steeds geldt als het meest gebruikte internationale betaalmiddel zorgt ervoor dat de VS niet al lang echt bankroet is………
Volgens verwachtingen zullen de kosten voor VS oorlogvoering nog verder oplopen daar er voorlopig geen zicht op is dat de VS zich zal terugtrekken, bijvoorbeeld uit Syrië, Afghanistan en Irak……..

A new report from Brown University is aiming to provide a close estimate of the cost of the overall cost to the US government of its myriad post-9/11 wars and assorted global wars on terror. The estimate is that $5.933 trillion has been spent through fiscal year 2019.

 This is, of course, vastly higher than official figures, owing to the Pentagon trying to oversimplify the costs into simply overseas contingency operations. It is only when one considers the cost of medical and disability care for soldiers, and future such costs, along with things like the interest on the extra money borrowed for the wars, that the true cost becomes clear.

 That sort of vast expenditure is only the costs and obligations of the wars so far, and with little sign of them ending, they are only going to grow. In particular, a generation of wars is going to further add to the medical costs for veterans’ being consistently deployed abroad.

 Starting in late 2001, the US has engaged in wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Pakistan, Yemen, and elsewhere around the world. Many of those wars have become more or less permanent operations, with no consideration of ending them under any circumstances.

Oorlogsmisdadiger en fascistische psychopaat Pompeo, momenteel VS minister van buitenlandse zaken, liet vorige week weten dat de sancties tegen Iran, die een ‘regime change’ moeten veroorzaken, een paar miljoen doden waard zijn……. Precies zoals hare kwaadaardigheid en collega fascist van de democraten Albright liet weten dat de 500.000 kinderen die in Irak overleden ten gevolge van de VS sancties tegen dat land in de 90er jaren, het waard zijn geweest……. Wat een enorme rotschoft moet je zijn, als je dergelijke woorden uit de vuilbek durft te laten vallen…….

Ron Paul, een republikein die eerder in het huis van afgevaardigden zat, heeft gehakt gemaakt van de uitspraak die Pompeo deed voor de BBC. Met een aantal vragen geeft hij precies aan waar de schoen wringt en godzijdank noemt hij de ‘situatie’ in Jemen bij de naam: een genocide die uitgevoerd wordt door (met een toevoeging van mij) de Saoedische terreurcoalitie, militair gesteund door de VS….. Een genocide waar de Trump administratie geen seconde van wakker ligt, nee men gaat de Houthi’s die hun burgers proberen te beschermen tegen de terreur van die coalitie, aanmerken als terroristen…..*
De redactie van Money and Markets die een artikel publiceerde geschreven door J.T. Crowe (die ook verantwoordelijk is voor het volgende) over de woorden van Paul, was zo laf om nog even te refereren aan de woorden van de hoogste leider in Iran, waarin deze de VS dreigt met oorlog…… Ofwel Paul kan wel wat zeggen, maar Iran dreigt zelf met oorlog….. ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Alsof zo’n dreiging ook maar een moment serieus is te nemen, dan nog: de VS voert al een economische oorlog tegen Iran, dat is voor de hele wereld wel duidelijk en je weet het >> wie de bal kaatst……..
Terecht trekt Paul een vergelijking tussen de VS en Iran, waar Iran niet het ene na het andere land in puin gooit in illegaal begonnen oorlogen….. Niet Iran maar de VS steunt de genocide in Jemen en Iran vecht niet in Jemen, zoals de VS wel doet…….. Niet Iran organiseert opstanden elders, maar de VS…… Over de zogenaamde terreur die Iran zou steunen: als er één land is op de wereld dat daadwerkelijk overal en nergens terreur zaait, is het de VS wel, de VS de grootste terreurentiteit op aarde, met intussen een onafzienbaar aantal oorlogsmisdaden op haar naam….**

Retired Libertarian and Republican Congressman Ron Paul is asking a question in his weekly column about the Trump administration’s ‘neoconservative’ policy regarding how to handle the situation with Iran: Is it normal?
Some context, per the Ron Paul Institute:

It’s not often that US Government officials are honest when they talk about our foreign policy. The unprovoked 2003 attack on Iraq was called a “liberation.” The 2011 US-led destruction of Libya was a “humanitarian intervention.” And so on.

So, in a way, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was refreshingly honest last week when, speaking about newly-imposed US sanctions, he told the BBC that the Iranian leadership “has to make a decision that they want their people to eat.” It was an honest admission that new US sanctions are designed to starve Iranians unless the Iranian leadership accepts US demands.

His statement also reveals the lengths to which the neocons are willing to go to get their “regime change” in Iran. Just like then-Secretary of State Madeleine Albright said it was “worth it” that half a million Iraqi children died because of our sanctions on that country, Pompeo is letting us know that a few million dead Iranians is also “worth it” if the government in Tehran can be overthrown.

Paul notes that the U.S. Secretary of State has demanded that Iran “act like a normal country.” Iran essentially threatened war against the U.S. over the sanctions, but does that mean the citizens of Iran have to suffer, Paul asks, and is that normal?

Is it normal to threaten millions of people with starvation if their leaders refuse to bow down to US demands? Is the neoconservative obsession with regime change “normal” behavior? Is training and arming al-Qaeda in Syria to overthrow Assad “normal” behavior? If so, then perhaps Washington’s neocons have a point. As Iran is not imposing sanctions, is not invading its neighbors, is not threatening to starve millions of Americans unless Washington is “regime-changed,” perhaps Iran is not acting “normal.”

It all depends on what your definition of “normal” is, Paul says.

The continued Saudi genocide in Yemen does not bother Washington a bit. In fact, Saudi aggression in Yemen is viewed as just another opportunity to strike out at Iran. By making phony claims that Yemen’s Houthis are “Iran-backed,” the US government justifies literally handing the Saudis the bombs to drop on Yemeni school buses while claiming it is fighting Iranian-backed terrorism! Is that “normal”?

Millions of Yemenis face starvation after three years of Saudi attacks have destroyed the economy and a Saudi blockade prohibits aid from reaching the suffering victims, but Secretary Pompeo recently blamed Yemeni starvation on, you guessed it: Iran!

And in a shocking display of cynicism, the US government is reportedly considering listing Yemen’s Houthis as a “terrorist” organization for the “crime” of fighting back against Saudi (and US) aggression. Labeling the Yemeni resistance a “terrorist” organization would effectively “legalize” the ongoing Saudi destruction of Yemen, as it could be justified as just another battle in the “war on terror.” It would also falsely identify the real culprits in the Yemen tragedy as Iran, which is repeatedly and falsely called the “number one sponsor of terrorism” by Pompeo and the rest of the Trump Administration neocons.

So yes, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo told one wicked truth last week. But before he demands that countries like Iran start acting “normal” or face starvation, perhaps he should look in the mirror. Are Pompeo and the neocons “normal”? I don’t think so.

Hele Syrische families in Raqqa uitgemoord door de VS

Ruth Sherlock, Lama Al-Arian en Kamiran Sadoun hebben een artikel geschreven over de situatie in de Syrische stad Raqqa, een jaar nadat de stad door de VS werd gebombardeerd vanwege de aanwezigheid van IS, in wat destijds de hoofdstad van hun bloedige kalifaat was……
Dagelijks is men nog bezig om de lijken onder het puin vandaan te halen, zoals de skeletten van 2 Syrische meisjes…… Het zijn dan ook vooral burgerslachtoffers die men vindt in de ruïnes en massagraven…. Tot nu toe zijn meer dan 2.600 vermoorde slachtoffers gevonden, maar dat moeten er volgens de bevolking ter plaatse, duizenden meer zijn……… Er zijn overigens veel meer burgerslachtoffers gevallen in Raqqa dan IS terroristen……

 Uit het hieronder opgenomen artikel wordt ten overvloede nog eens gemeld dat terreurgroep IS, als andere terreurgroepen (‘gematigde rebellen’) eerder, de bevolking verbood Raqqa te verlaten, op straffe van de dood…… Ik meld dit daar de reguliere westerse media en bijvoorbeeld het Syrisch Observatorium voor Mensenrechten (SOHR, geleid door een misdadiger) keer op keer met de leugen kwamen dat het reguliere Syrische legger vluchtelingen zou hebben doodgeschoten, zoals bij de belegering van Oost-Aleppo……. Terwijl het Syrische leger en de Russen juist vluchtcorridors instelden voor de bevolking, die zoals gezegd door scherpschutters van de ‘gematigde rebellen’ (financieel gesteund met o.a. ons belastinggeld…) onder vuur werden genomen…….
De VN en een paar landen smeekten de VS destijds te stoppen met de bombardementen op Raqqa, maar dat was als bij de eerdere belegering van het Iraakse West-Mosul tevergeefs…… ‘Vreemd overigens’ dat dit feit destijds niet of amper werd gemeld door de reguliere westerse media en als het al gemeld werd, dan weggestopt bijvoorbeeld op de laatste pagina van kranten behorend tot die westerse media….. (niet ‘vreemd’ dus, immers men staat bij die ‘onafhankelijke’ media ten volle achter de terreur die de VS uitoefent, waar dan ook over de wereld en die media gebruiken daarvoor niet alleen ‘fake news’ (nepnieuws), maar zoals gemeld verzwijgen ook simpel ‘bepaalde nieuwsfeiten……’)
Lees het volgende ontluisterende artikel en zegt het ajb voort, tijd dat de wereldbevolking eindelijk achter de waarheid komt en de VS, Saoedi-Arabië, Israël en de NAVO lidstaten gaat zien voor wat ze ‘waard’ zijn: bloeddorstige terreurstaten!!! ‘Entire Families Wiped Out': US Airstrikes Killed Many Civilians in Syria

On a busy street corner in Raqqa, Syria, a digger pushes through the rubble of a building hit by an airstrike. Onlookers shield their mouths and noses from the dust and stench of corpses of those who perished beneath.

Just streets away, three recovery workers pull out the delicate skeletons of two children from under the debris of a partially collapsed home. And across the city, in what was once Raqqa’s public park, men unearth more bodies from a mass grave.
“Raqqa did not deserve this destruction,” says Yasser al-Khamis, who leads the city’s emergency response team. “Of course, we understood its fate because it was the capital of ISIS, but we were hoping that the civilian death toll would be lower.”
One year after the U.S.-led military campaign against ISIS ended in Raqqa, Khamis’ team is still recovering the remains of the battle’s casualties. This grim, daily work is revealing a civilian death toll that is dramatically higher than the assessment offered by the U.S.-led coalition against ISIS.
Yasser al-Khamis leads Raqqa’s First Responders Team, a U.S.-funded group tasked with emergency work including pulling the bodies of casualties out of the rubble from the war against ISIS.
The rescue workers’ findings, which they document in meticulous notes shown to NPR, point to an offensive that killed many more civilians than it did ISIS members, and where the majority of those civilians likely died in American airstrikes.
The U.S.-led coalition against ISIS has so far verified 104 unintended civilian casualties caused by its attacks in Raqqa and is investigating more cases, coalition spokesman Army Col. Sean Ryan tells NPR.
“With new information being submitted to the CivCas [civilian casualties] team by a multitude of sources every month, the numbers will presumably go up,” Ryan adds.

The workers in Raqqa, however, estimate the real tally is much higher — likely in the “thousands.”
Since January, the rescue team has uncovered more than 2,600 bodies. Through their identification process, they say they have found that most of the bodies were civilians killed in coalition airstrikes during the battle for Raqqa between June and October 2017.
Formally called the First Responders Team, the group receives funding from the U.S. government, but the assistance is limited. Its approximately 37 members work long hours for little pay — some are volunteers — and say their efforts are slowed by a lack of heavy machinery needed to access the bodies.
With many more corpses still under rubble, the rescue workers estimate it will take another year to clean the city of the dead.
Faster strikes and artillery barrages
Raqqa served as the capital of ISIS’ self-proclaimed caliphate for almost four years after the militant group seized the city in 2014.
The U.S.-led coalition’s offensive on Raqqa came after several years of fighting the extremist group in Iraq and other parts of Syria.
While campaigning for president, Donald Trump vowed to “bomb the s*** out of” ISIS.
In the months following his January 2017 swearing-in, conflict analysts reported increases in both the numbers of U.S. airstrikes and of civilians reported killed in the attacks.
President Trump reportedly handed decision-making power for major bombardments to the military, enabling airstrikes to be more easily called in by commanders on the ground during a battle.
In May 2017, Defense Secretary James Mattis told CBS News the U.S. was accelerating and intensifying the campaign against ISIS, and added, “We have already shifted from attrition tactics … to annihilation tactics.”
In Raqqa, the consequences of the “annihilation tactics” are still keenly felt.
According to Airwars, an independent research group monitoring the anti-ISIS conflicts in Iraq and Syria, the U.S. was responsible for about 95 percent of the airstrikes and all of the artillery barrages in Raqqa. The U.K. and France also participated in the offensive.
Data given to Airwars by the U.S. military’s central command show the coalition launched at least 21,000 munitions — airstrikes and artillery — in the city in little over four months.
“Entire families have been wiped out”
By the end of the campaign, Raqqa was a wasteland of smashed concrete; its residential tower blocks were flattened and schools and hospitals toppled. A United Nations study found that over 80 percent of the city — originally home to some 220,000 people — is damaged or destroyed.
Many residents say they lost loved ones in the strikes.
Mohanned Tadfi, 41, recently buried his mother, his brother, his sister-in-law and seven nieces and nephews. “Ten people,” he says. “A plane came and hit the house and the building of five floors fell on their heads.”
Tadfi says his brother Latuf had found it too hard and dangerous for his family to leave. “ISIS was executing anyone from his neighborhood who tried to escape. And in any case, our mother is diabetic and can’t walk well, and it was too difficult [to] carry her because the bridges out of the city had been bombed.”
The family stayed in their basement apartment as the war intensified around them. The Syrian Democratic Forces, a U.S.-backed militia, was closing in on the neighborhood and the family thought the fighters would soon capture the area from ISIS.
On Sept. 5, 2017, just after a muezzin in a nearby mosque called the end of noon prayers, an airstrike hit the building where Tadfi’s family was. Another brother, Raed Tadfi, went to deliver insulin for their mother. He found Latuf dead on the steps and the building collapsed behind him.
Days later, SDF fighters seized control of the neighborhood. Tadfi says he and his brother asked the militia for access to the house. “Please, there are children under the rubble. My brother’s children, young kids. Maybe even just one of them is still alive!” he recalls asking them.
But they were told the area was too dangerous for civilians. It wasn’t until three months later that Tadfi was finally able to recover his loved ones. He hired a flatbed truck and took them away to graves he says he dug with his own hands.
The Tadfis’ story is one of the cases being looked at by Donatella Rovera, a senior crisis response adviser for Amnesty International who has spent much of the last year in Raqqa. She compiles witness testimonies and analyzes war damage to buildings as part of an ongoing investigation to determine how many civilians were really killed in the coalition attacks.

“This is one case of many that I have been investigating where entire families have been wiped out in places where they thought they would be safe,” she says, standing beside the wreckage of the Tadfis home.

Determining casualties
In a statement responding to NPR, Col. Ryan, the spokesman of the Combined Joint Task Force, said the coalition conducted “thorough assessments” to ensure it didn’t accidentally kill civilians. “The majority of strikes were executed as planned, but to say this was perfect execution from all sides is meaningless and we understand mistakes were made.”
He said the coalition was “fighting a ruthless enemy that was systematically killing innocent civilians and unfortunately some were unintentionally killed trying to liberate them, something we tried to avoid.”
Rovera doesn’t dispute that ISIS tried to prevent civilians from leaving. But, she says,the military knew that before the battle and did not adjust their attack plan accordingly.
Her investigation so far suggests that “many hundreds” of civilians were killed in the Raqqa offensive, which she says prioritized speed, even in densely populated neighborhoods.
Testimony Rovera gathered from embedded journalists and SDF militia sources suggests that strikes sometimes came “within minutes” of a local commander choosing a target.
“If they had had observation for an adequate period of time, they would have realized that there were civilians in those buildings,” she says. “Yes, the war probably would have taken more time. But more lives would have been saved.”

The rescue unit says it determined most of the more than 2,600 recovered bodies were civilians in a few different ways. ISIS combatants often dressed a specific way and carried an ID card, the workers say. Other characteristics, such as victims’ age and gender and testimony from families, also help in the team’s documentation.
Rescuers say they recognize airstrike scenes from the scale of the destruction.
Airwars puts the civilian death toll in the Raqqa offensive at 1,400, but it believes the number could be higher. It gathers data largely remotely, through communication with sources and information from social media, and has not been able to verify every reported case.
“We expected a significantly higher portion of civilian harm reports to be determined as credible, since in Raqqa really the only player causing the destruction was the coalition,” says Chris Woods, the director of Airwars.
He explains that the coalition has assessed and accepted only a fraction of the casualty reports from Raqqa than it did from the major campaign to drive ISIS from Mosul, Iraq, from October 2016 to July 2017.
“That suggests a political dimension to the decision-making process,” he says. “We can’t think of another explanation for that discrepancy.”
Rovera, the Amnesty International adviser, says it is imperative that coalition forces send ground investigators into Raqqa. “Having dropped the bombs from the sky they should now be sending their investigators on the ground now to establish the facts of what was the impact of those strikes on the civilian population,” she says.
Col. Ryan from the coalition said the existing coalition forces in Syria are not a trained investigative force and taking them away “from their mission is not advisable as the fight against this ruthless enemy continues.”
For now, Raqqa’s people are left to count their dead largely alone, while the U.S. and other powers strike elsewhere in Syria.

De situatie is des te nijpender, daar Jemen ook in vredestijd 90% van het voedsel moet importeren, daar het land maar weinig landbouwgrond heeft……..

Tot zover het bericht over de waarschuwing van Oxfam dat echter werd ingehaald door het tweede, hieronder opgenomen bericht en waaruit blijkt dat het aantal doden nog veel hoger ligt dan eerder ingeschat:

De sjiitische Houthi rebellen grepen in daar president Al-Hadi IS en Al Qaida onderdak gaf in Jemen en deze soennitische terreurgroepen begonnen met het uitoefenen van terreur op de sjiitische bevolking van Jemen, zelfs moskeeën waren niet veilig voor dit geteisem……..

De Houthi’s gebruikten geweld om deze terreurgroepen te bestrijden en als de Koerden in Syrië waren de Houthi’s aanvankelijk uiterst succesvol in het bestrijden van deze terreurgroepen, zelfs bijna 100% beter dan de VS in haar eerste jaar van illegale oorlogsvoering in Syrië….. Daar kwam pas verbetering in toen in een paar maanden na oktober 2015 bleek dat Rusland, die vanaf die maand de democratisch gekozen regering van Syrië hielp tegen IS en andere terreurgroepen, wel uiterst succesvol was in het bestrijden van die terreurgroepen, terreurgroepen die door het westen werden en worden aangeduid als ‘gematigde rebellen’, terreurgroepen die door Rutte 2 en 3 werden gesteund met het door ons betaalde belastinggeld……* Een schande van enorme proporties!!

Terug naar Jemen: je kan dus concluderen dat het werkelijke aantal doden, inclusief die door de
genocide vermoordde Jemenieten, rond de 200.000 moet liggen……

Weer kijkt de wereld toe terwijl er een genocide wordt uitgevoerd, ondanks alle hypocriete beloften na de genocide in Rwanda dat dit nooit weer zou gebeuren……… Tja, ‘t ligt er maar aan wie deze genocide uitvoert, zo blijkt eens te meer…….

(ANTIWAR.COM) — International aid group Oxfam has issued a warning on Friday that the number of civilian deaths in Yemen is soaring since August. During that time, they estimate that a civilian is killed roughly every three hours in a violent attack.
While some get caught in the cross-fire, most are victims of Saudi airstrikes, and that has Oxfam urging the world, and the US and UK in particular, to suspend arms sales to the Saudis. They say this is necessary “because of their disregard for civilian lives.”
In addition to the roughly 575 civilians killed this way from the start of August to mid-October, Oxfam warns that many more Yemeni civilians are dying of hunger and disease, which has been a mounting problem because of the Saudi-led naval blockade.
Yemen has almost no arable land, and has to import some 90% of its food in peacetime. During the war, this has meant most food and medicine only going to Saudi-controlled ports. The last Houthi controlled aid port is under attack by the Saudis, and the route out of the city into the rest of northern Yemen is virtually impassable.

True Yemen Death Toll Five Times Higher Than Previous Estimate, Researchers Say

(MEE) — At least 56,000 people have been killed in armed violence in Yemen since January 2016, according to data collected by an independent research group, a tally that is more than five times higher than previously reported.
The new figure encompasses the deaths of both combatants and civilians in Yemen between January 2016 and 20 October 2018, explained Andrea Carboni, a research analyst at the Armed Conflict Location & Event Data Project (ACLED).
It does not take into account the Yemenis who have died as a result of the humanitarian crisis engulfing the country and its related problems, such as diseases and malnutrition.
“The fatality numbers refer to the number of people that were killed as a direct consequence of armed violence,” Carboni told Middle East Eye on Monday.
That violence includes air strikes and artillery fire from Saudi-led coalition forces currently fighting in Yemen, as well as armed clashes between various factions fighting inside the country, such as the Houthis.
Middle East Eye could not independently verify the 56,000 number.
Saudi Arabia launched a military campaign in Yemen in early 2015 to root out Houthi rebels, who had taken over the capital, Sanaa, and deposed the then-president,Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi.
The Saudi-led coalition has been accused of committing war crimes in Yemen, such as the deliberate bombing of hospitals, buses and other civilian infrastructure. The Houthis have also been accused of taking hostages and arbitarily detaining and torturing opponents – all potential war crimes.
However, as Yemen has become increasingly closed off to outside observers and journalists amid the devastating conflict, reliable information on the number of deaths has been hard to come by.
Journalists and humanitarian workers have often cited a figure of 10,000 deaths, but that total has remained static since 2016 despite the ongoing war.
The number was also an underestimate when it was released, Carboni said, since it was based on deaths that were reported at medical facilities in the country.
“Most of the people, the casualties, do not get to medical centres. That number was actually missing a lot of the violence and the casualties that are related to it,” he said.
New Figure Likely an Underestimate
Based on an estimate of around 2,000 fatalities every month in Yemen, total deaths between the start of the conflict in 2015 to the end of this year is expected to sit between 70,000 and 80,000, Carboni said.
The numbers are collated from secondary sources, he said, such as international news agencies, reliable local news outlets, and NGO reports.
He said having an accurate figure is important because “fatalities are the single most difficult piece of information you can get in a conflict context”.
Still, Carboni said the 56,000 number is most likely an underestimate, as well.
“These are estimates based on the methodology we’ve applied elsewhere. They are likely also to be an underestimate themselves,” he said.
He added that three-quarters of all civilian deaths in Yemen are attributable to the Saudi-led coalition.
“If you compare the scale of the violence and the destruction which is also reflected in the humanitarian crisis and all other forms of devastation that Yemen has suffered, having a fatality number that reflects [that] as correctly as possible, I think it’s important,” he said.
Last week, Oxfam reported that since August, at least one civilian has been killed every three hours in fighting in Yemen.
In addition, more than 1.1 million cases of cholera have been reported in the last 18 months, including 2,000 that proved fatal, the charity said.
“Every single life lost to this shameful conflict, be it through armed attacks, or through starvation and disease, should be an international outrage,” said Muhsin Siddiquey, Oxfam’s country director in Yemen, in a statement.
“Backers of all the warring parties should realise that they are complicit in this man-made crisis.”

Scott Ritter, voormalig VN-wapeninspecteur: Iran verdient de eer voor het verslaan van ISIS

In het hieronder opgenomen artikel, geschreven door voormalig VN-wapeninspecteur Scott Ritter en eerder gepubliceerd op The American Conservative, stelt hij dat niet de VS, maar vooral Iran de eer toekomt van het verslaan van IS in zowel Irak als Syrië…..
Ritter verhaalt over het ontstaan van IS en alle daarbij behorende gore spelletjes van de VS, waarbij hij de VS in feite beschuldigt van het beschermen van en samenwerken met IS, al was het alleen om Assad af te kunnen zetten en nu als stok tegen Iran te gebruiken…….. Intussen heeft IS al een paar aanslagen gepleegd in Iran (met de hulp van de CIA). Over de CIA gesproken: de VS heeft toegegeven dat het al jaren bezig is om de oppositie in Iran te steunen en op te zetten tegen de regering……. Zo zijn ook de zogenaamde opstanden die de laatste jaren in Iran plaatsvonden (uiterst gewelddadige ‘opstanden’), georganiseerd door de CIA…..
Scott Ritter was VN-wapeninspecteur voorafgaand aan de illegale oorlog van de VS tegen Irak in 2003. Keer op keer liet hij de VN, de reguliere (massa-) media en politici weten dat Irak niet langer de beschikking had over ‘massavernietigingswapens en dat dit uit en te na was onderzocht door hem en z’n team, waarbij Ritter uiteindelijk zijn gelijk haalde….. Lullig genoeg haalde hij z’n gelijk, pas lang nadat de VS Irak aanviel….* Deze illegale oorlog van de VS betekende de dood van meer dan nu al 1,5 miljoen mensen (in feite is de oorlog in Irak nog steeds gaande….)….. Iran Deserves Credit for the Ruin of ISIS

But is the U.S. now allowing its last remnants to survive in Syria to spite Tehran?

Until recently the United States viewed the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, or ISIS, as a major threat to regional stability in the Middle East. Barack Obama made it a mission to roll back ISIS’s territorial and propagandistic gain, and Donald Trump campaigned on a promise to “kick ISIS’s ass.” The United States expended considerable effort, both military and political, in a campaign to defeat the terror group in Iraq and, to a lesser extent, in Syria.
But there is also no doubt that the bulk of the effort came from Iran, not the United States. Without Iranian involvement, ISIS would still have a formidable presence in both Iraq and Syria.
ISIS was born out of the ashes of the American invasion of Iraq. Their rise was the logical extension of a process that saw the fabric of secular Sunni society torn asunder by an American occupier unwilling to further empower a Sunni ruling elite that had been loyal to Saddam Hussein. Washington failed to understand the resentment engendered within the Sunni community when Iraq’s Shia, some of whom were beholden to Iran, came to power.
Traditional Sunni tribal power structures were eviscerated as a result, only to be replaced with radicalized Sunni youths beholden to only themselves. Al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI) was al-Qaeda in name only—its mission wasn’t to export jihad to the West, but to free Iraq from the grips of an American and Iranian occupation.
America’s campaign against AQI never resulted in that movement’s destruction. Instead, the United States, in an effort to free itself of the burden of war created when it invaded Iraq in the first place, withdrew from Iraq in 2012, leaving the final phase of AQI’s destruction in the hands of the Iraqi government. This period coincided with the start of the civil unrest in Syria and the creation of a radicalized Islamist opposition to Syria’s president, Bashar al-Assad. The willingness to cede large swaths of Syrian territory to Islamist forces as a means of destabilizing Assad created the conditions for the birth of ISIS in the deserts of both central Syria and western Iraq.
When ISIS advanced on the Iraqi cities of Ramadi and Fallujah, the American-trained and -equipped Iraqi army was unable to halt its advance. Soon the major city of Mosul fell to ISIS, and its forces pushed down the Tigris River valley to the outskirts of Baghdad.
The story of Iraq’s struggle to form a viable resistance to ISIS in the aftermath of the fall of Mosul is little known, and even less appreciated, by the United States. The formation of so-called “Popular Mobilization Forces,” or PMF—organized at the behest of Iraq’s senior Shia leadership, and trained, equipped, and led by Iran—was the single most important factor behind the halting of ISIS’s drive on Baghdad and its eventual eviction from Iraqi territory.
Western media have paid a disproportionate amount of attention to the actions of a select few American-trained Iraqi security forces, which, with ample support from U.S. airpower and advisors, helped end fighting in and around Mosul. All the while, they’ve ignored that the lion’s share of the fighting was done by the Iranian-directed PMF. This fact was not lost on the Iraqi people, many of whom (though not many of the Sunnis) hold the PMF in the highest regard. This sentiment has propelled many of the senior leadership of the PMF into political prominence in Baghdad.
For Iran, the ISIS phenomenon is not limited to Iraq. It is seen as part and parcel of a concerted effort undertaken by the United States, Saudi Arabia, and the Gulf Arab nations to overthrow Assad in Syria, diminish the power and influence of Hezbollah in Lebanon, and roll back Iranian influence in both Syria and Iraq. ISIS’s geographic presence in Syria, concentrated as it was in the central and northeastern deserts, made it a secondary target compared to the al-Qaeda affiliates operating in and around Aleppo and Damascus.
As the Syrian government, with the assistance of Russia, Iran, and Hezbollah, gained the upper hand in the fight against the American- and Saudi-backed al-Qaeda groups, however, the importance of ISIS as a source of anti-regime resistance grew. While ISIS never had the power to challenge Damascus directly, the efforts undertaken by the Syrian coalition to defeat ISIS diverted resources needed in the larger fight. As such, the continued existence of a viable ISIS presence on Syrian soil was deemed an acceptable outcome by the United States as it sought to contain Iran’s presence on Syrian soil.
ISIS in Syria lingers on, despite the fact that U.S. military power could ensure its almost immediate elimination. The reason for the stay of execution is not entirely clear, but it could well be that the U.S. sees ISIS as a useful foil against Iran. Efforts by the United States to roll back Iran’s presence inside Syria have recently become more volatile in the wake of fiery rhetoric from senior Trump administration officials and actions undertaken by Iran to harden their positions. The American policy of Iranian rollback includes the re-imposition of economic sanctions and support for opposition groups opposed to the Iranian theocracy.
The latter point is very sensitive. This sensitivity has only been heightened by remarks from Saudi Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman suggesting that any struggle for influence between Riyadh and Tehran ought to take place “inside Iran, not in Saudi Arabia,” and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s encouraging Iranian Arab minorities to rise up in opposition to the Iranian government.
When gunmen linked to ISIS attacked a military parade in the Iranian city of Ahvaz, killing and wounding dozens, the Iranian government was quick to blame the United States and Saudi Arabia, among others, and promise retaliation in kind. This prompted National Security Advisor John Bolton to declare to Iran that “there will indeed be hell to pay” if Iran or its proxies attacked the U.S. or its allies.
A few days later, Iranian rockets were launched, not against American targets in Basra, but locations in Syria linked to ISIS. While the Iranian strike was in clear retaliation for the Ahvaz attack, the rockets were emblazoned with slogans hostile to the United States, Saudi Arabia, and Israel. This made it clear that the strike was meant for a broader audience. Among those who took notice were the American forces located a mere three miles away from the targets struck by the Iranians.
Rising tensions and strong rhetoric, if not carefully managed, could easily lead to an unintended—and dangerous—escalation of hostilities. This could test President Donald Trump’s uncertain appetite for direct conflict. Moreover, the American effort to stir up an Iranian opposition could do more to unite competing power factions within Iran’s leadership, and unite Iranians behind that leadership, than to divide and weaken the Iranian polity. The Trump administration seems to operate under the delusion that Iran’s president, Hassan Rouhani, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), and Iran’s supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, are operating in different spheres with somewhat disparate interests. U.S. efforts to drive a wedge between Rouhani and Khamenei will not only prove fruitless, but backfire, closing the door to any potential negotiations and cementing a hardline response that will have Rouhani, the IRGC, and the supreme leader united in their opposition.
The United States is engaged in a dangerous double game with ISIS that is not only hypocritical in the extreme—given the 9/11 attacks on American soil that precipitated this whole sorry affair—but counterproductive to American national security interests. It has both empowered and legitimized the very Iranian theocracy it seeks to contain.
Rather than relying on ISIS as a foil to blunt Iranian influence in Syria and terrorize its citizenry at home, the Trump administration should recognize the positive role that Iran has played in defeating ISIS. It should build upon that recognition to craft a wider regional peace process that both recognizes the realities inherent in Syria today and reduces the tensions that prompt Iran to lean forward in such an aggressive manner. Unfortunately, such thinking seems beyond the capabilities of Mike Pompeo and John Bolton. As such, America will continue to pursue poorly thought out policies with no chance of success without any thought to either cost or consequence.

De reguliere westerse massamedia hoor je niet meer over de beginjaren van de oorlog tegen Irak, media die de leugens van de VS over de massavernietigingswapens hysterisch hebben uitgevent en de eerste jaren van de illegale oorlog tegen Irak, pal achter de VS bleven staan, waarbij ze een hele berg ‘fake news’ brachten, aangevuld met gezwets en leugens van opiniemakers……. Een smerig spel dat zoals gezegd was gebaseerd op leugens en bedrog, waarmee ze het grootste deel van het westerse volk achter deze schandalige illegale oorlog wisten te houden……… Vergeet niet dat ook wij Nederlanders via de belasting fiks hebben meebetaald aan deze oorlog, daar Nederland niet alleen in aanloop van deze illegale oorlog met een onderzeeboot inlichtingen verzamelde voor de VS, maar vervolgens gaf Nederland naast politieke steun, ook militaire steun aan deze oorlog, ofwel militairen op de grond….. Ook Nederlandse F16’s hebben lang steun verleend aan deze vuile oorlog, wat zeg ik: Nederland verleent nog steeds steun aan die oorlog met F16’s en met het trainen van het Iraakse leger……

9/11 getuigen totaal genegeerd door media (en overheid)

Brasscheck TV bracht gisteren weer een video over de 9/11 aanslagen in 2001.
Hoewel vaker ter sprake gebracht, een video over de honderden getuigen van die aanslagen die door de reguliere (massa-) media en de overheid werden genegeerd. Getuigen die allen precies hetzelfde vertelden: dat ze een flink aantal explosies hoorden tijdens ‘de aanslagen’ op de Twin Towers en WTC gebouw 7…….
Wel geeft dit weer een nieuwe kijk op de zaak, blijkbaar werden de media al heel snel ingeseind geen aandacht aan dergelijke getuigenissen te geven en ‘zoals het fatsoenlijke en onafhankelijke media dan betaamd’, volg je netjes de instructies van de overheid, je bent er immers niet om de waarheid te vertellen, maar ‘de waarheid’ te verkondigen zoals die door de overheid wordt aangeleverd……

De redactie van Brasscheck spreekt over censuur waar men het woord zelfcensuur had moeten gebruiken voor de media, die de officiële leugens als waarheid brachten en nog steeds brengen….. Immers die zogenaamde censuur wordt ook buiten deze zaak veelvuldig gehanteerd door de bedoelde media, waar ook de superrijke eigenaren-plutocraten en aandeelhouders-investeerders van die media belang hebben bij volgzame media, die vooral hun belangen moeten behartigen…..
Zoals we deze praktijken al zo vaak hebben gezien, neem alleen al de illegale oorlogen van de VS tegen Irak, Libië en Syrië, waaraan voorafgaand en tijdens die oorlogen de ene leugen na de andere werd en wordt gelanceerd, waar de media deze leugens hebben uitgedragen en uitdragen als was het via een grondig onderzoek verkregen informatie……. Moet je nagaan, diezelfde media hebben de bek vol van ‘fake news’ (nepnieuws) op de sociale media….. ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha!

 Men spreekt ook in de reguliere media en politiek over complottheorieën als men het over dit soort berichten heeft, terwijl de echte complottheorie aangaande 9/11 door de VS overheid werd gelanceerd! (en zoals gezegd herhaald door de reguliere westerse media en het grootste deel van de westerse politici) Voor het feit dat 9/11 minstens door de VS zelf werd geregisseerd en het officiële verhaal een vette leugen is, liggen intussen meters aan dossiers, zie o.a. de links onderaan dit bericht.

MI6 bezig met voorbereiding van een chemische aanval in Idlib

De republikeinse senator Richard (‘Dick’) Black heeft op het arabisch tv station Al Mayadeen gemeld dat MI6 bezig is met de voorbereiding van een chemische aanval in Idlib. Black zei verder dat e.e.a. al een maand bekend is….. Volgens Black kan het gaan om een echte aanval met gifgas, of een gespeelde, ofwel een ‘false flag’ operatie, waar de schuld in beide gevallen bij Assad zal worden gelegd…. Black beweert dat er al met ‘acteurs’ wordt geoefend hoe ze slachtoffer moeten spelen en wordt met hen getraind op de symptomen van een gifgasaanval (die ze moeten tonen)……

Daarover gesproken: volgens Black zijn meerdere gifgasaanvallen, die de laatste jaren werden gepleegd, ‘false flag’ operaties, deze werden met hulp van de White Helmets uitgevoerd…. Dit was overigens al bekend*, zoals ook bekend is dat men bezig is een gifgasaanval voor te bereiden in Idlib, dit door de herhaaldelijke waarschuwingen aan het adres van Assad geen gifgasaanval uit te voeren, waarschuwingen van psychopaten als Bolton….**

Dergelijke waarschuwingen van de VS werden eerder gedaan in aanloop van gifgasaanvallen, aanvallen waar het Syrische leger niets mee te winnen had, alleen al door het simpele feit dat dit leger aan de winnende hand was (zonder gifgas gebruik)…….

De Amerikaanse staatssenator Richard Black heeft opvallende uitspraken gedaan op de Arabisch tv over een nauwe bondgenoot van de Verenigde Staten. Black zei dat MI6, de Britse inlichtingendienst, een chemische aanval voorbereidt op Syrische burgers die vervolgens in de schoenen van Assad zal worden geschoven.
“Vier weken geleden wisten we al dat het Britse inlichtingenapparaat toewerkte naar een chemische aanval waar de Syrische overheid vervolgens de schuld van zou krijgen,” zei Black op de Arabische nieuwszender Al Mayadeen.
Acteurs
Hij zei later dat de Britten de aanval niet zelf zullen uitvoeren, maar dat laten doen door rebellen.
Een andere mogelijkheid is dat ze de aanval in scène zetten en acteurs gebruiken, aldus Black.
Hij zei ook dat eerdere gifgasaanvallen in Syrië nep waren. Die waren volgens hem uitgevoerd door Groot-Brittannië, met hulp van de Syrische Witte Helmen.
Nepaanval
“Ze bereiden een nepaanval voor, geen echte,” zei hij. “Ze hebben mensen getraind om te doen alsof ze slachtoffer van een gasaanval zijn.”
“Het plan is om de Witte Helmen, die steeds betrokken zijn geweest bij deze misleidingen, de aanval te laten uitvoeren,” vervolgde hij.
Het Amerikaanse ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken noemde de beschuldigingen van Black ‘schandalig’.

Buffer
Hij had onlangs voor de tweede keer een ontmoeting met de Syrische president Bashar al-Assad.
Black, een Vietnamveteraan en voormalige Pentagon-advocaat, zegt hem te zien als beschermer van Syrische christenen en buffer tegen islamitisch extremisme.

PS: nu loopt de hysterie weer op rond de aanstaande aanval van het Syrische leger op Idlib, terwijl niemand kijkt naar de terreur die de daar aanwezige terreurgroepen (‘gematigde rebellen’) uitoefenen op de oorspronkelijke bevolking…. Waar al helemaal niet naar wordt gekeken is het vasthouden van vluchtelingen door de terreurgroepen in Idlib, zoals ze dit keer op keer in het verleden hebben gedaan, mensen die wilden vluchten door corridors van het Syrische leger, werden doodgeschoten door sluipschutters van die ‘gematigde rebellen…’
Het aantal vluchtelingen in Idlib wordt zwaar overdreven en men vergeet voor het gemak dat onder die vluchtelingen zich vooral de gezinnen van terroristen bevinden…….


Vandaag of morgen zal er gegarandeerd een gifgasaanval plaatsvinden in Idlib, daar heeft de VS bij wijze al om gesmeekt bij deze terreurgroepen (die zoals gezegd beschikken over gifgas, met medeweten van de westerse regeringen)…….. Deze gifgasaanval zou wel eens het begin van een oorlog tussen de VS en Rusland kunnen inluiden, daar Putin al te vaak over z’n hart heeft gestreken, zelfs bij de moedwillige moord op zo’n 100 Russische vrijwilligers door terreurentiteit VS, of het neerhalen van een Russische jager door terreurstaat Turkije…… (ofwel als Putin niet volledig zijn gezicht wil verliezen zal Rusland moeten ingrijpen als de VS weer onterecht Syrische bases aanvalt, na de zoveelste false flag gifgasaanval…….)

Het reguliere Syrische leger en Russische troepen zouden optrekken richting het laatste gebied dat wordt beheerst door terreurgroepen, groepen die media en politici in het westen eufemistisch ‘gematigde rebellen’ noemen….. Althans tot voor kort, in het hieronder opgenomen artikel, eerder gepubliceerd op Zero Hedge, bericht Tyler Durden over GB dat haar steun aan deze ‘gematigde rebellen’, alweer een onderafdeling van Al Qaida, heeft opgezegd.

Zoals gezegd ook de reguliere media beginnen langzaam maar zeker met andere woorden over deze terreurgroepen te schrijven, al zal het nog heel wat tijd kosten voordat de massamedia hun toon zullen aanpassen…. Niet zo vreemd, immers daarmee geven die media organen aan dat ze in feite vanaf het begin fout bezig zijn geweest en ‘fake news’ hebben gebracht.

 Durden heeft het in het hieronder opgenomen artikel, volgens mij bij het verkeerde eind als hij stelt dat de Syrische provincie Idlib het laatste door terreurgroepen beheerst gebied is, immers in door de VS gecontroleerd gebied in het oosten van Syrië, worden terroristen van IS gedoogd en zelfs verdedigd door de VS*, mocht het Syrische leger een aanval inzetten (al is dit wel een andere situatie dan die in Idlib).

UK Finally Ditches ‘Moderate’ Syrian Rebels Ahead of Idlib Battle

(ZHE Op-ed) — CNN warns that Syrian and Russian forces are closing in on the “last rebel stronghold” in Syria while characteristically failing to inform its readers that the “rebel” coalition in control of the northwest pocket of Idlib is but the latest incarnation of al-Qaeda, calling itself Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham.
With the final major battle looming which could mark the ultimate end and final chapter to the war, the Western public is about to be subjected to a final end-all media onslaught of “the last hospital” and “the last school” and “the last humanitarian rescuers” type stories similar to how the media presented the battle for Aleppo in 2016.
Starting this past weekend, the refrain started: “Humanitarian groups fear a ‘bloodbath’ as Assad looks to press the advantage and wipe out the last pockets of resistance,” as NBC reported, which was echoed across a dozen other outlets.
There’s now even an Idlib version of “Bana” that popped up on twitter only a month ago. Six-year old “Hala” supposedly set up an account to publish awareness videos telling the world to keep their “eyes on Idlib” ahead of Assad’s impending military campaign.
However, there are some few outlets out there that recently decided to finally drop the worn out transparent charade of “moderate rebels” and simply call Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham for what it is. Business Insider, for example, accurately labels Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) a terrorist group in some of their recent headlines, and has called the al-Qaeda affiliate, “the next ISIS”.
But it appears that HTS is set to be wiped about before fully establishing control as the next ISIS as Syrian government ground forces and the Russian Air Force have already begun eroding their perimeters, which had been established when al-Qaeda first took Idlib city and much of the surrounding province in 2015, with US and UK coalition help.
Over the past days and weeks, massive Syrian troop and heavy armor deployments have been seen amassing outside the al-Qaeda held province, poised for a final offensive. This after Syria’s southern Daraa and Quneitra provinces were liberated in a mere matter of weeks.
But perhaps the greatest sign that the writing is on the wall for Syria’s “the last rebel stronghold” (to repeat CNN’s words), there are new reports that Britain has cut off its longtime support to the “moderate rebels” it has for years throughout the war funded and armed.
According to The Guardian:

The UK government is to end funding to a scheme to support the Syrian opposition, deeming the programmes now too risky to operate as the final rebel-held areas face imminent attack from Bashar al-Assad’s forces….

While humanitarian support will continue, the ending of this governance programme is highly symbolic, suggesting Britain has accepted that the Syrian opposition, which it has backed since the early days of the civil war in 2012 to 2013, is facing imminent defeat from a combination of Syrian regime forces and Russian airstrikes.

On Monday a UK government spokesperson confirmed the following: “As the situation on the ground in some regions has become increasingly difficult we have reduced support for some of our non-humanitarian programming, but continue to deliver vital support to help those most in need and to improve security and stability in the country,” according to Reuters.
This is in essence the UK finally admitting its side has lost — though we should note its “humanitarian funding” will continue to flow to controversial groups like the ‘White Helmets’, who have long been proven to work in tandem with al-Qaeda.
