Topdwaas en godbetert minister van Buitenlandse Zaken in de VS, Rex Tillerson, de incarnatie van het monster van Frankenstein (luister maar naar z’n stem), had het gore lef om NB in Saoedi-Arabië commentaar te leveren op mensenrechtenschendingen in Iran…….. Tillerson was samen met Trump op bezoek in S-A.
Dit terwijl de mensenrechten in Saoedi-Arabië volkomen ten grabbel worden gegooid, vergeleken daarmee zijn de schendingen van deze rechten in Iran kinderwerk…….. Eerder liet Tillerson al weten, dat Iran de grootste terreurverspreider in het Midden-Oosten is, terwijl ook op dat gebied, S-A Iran met gemak verslaat. Sterker nog: de grootste terreurbrenger en -verspreider in het Midden Oosten is terreurentiteit VS zelf!!* Als je Afghanistan en Libië meerekent als landen behorend tot het Midden-Oosten (zoals de VS dat doet), is de VS deze eeuw al 4 illegale oorlogen begonnen in het Midden-Oosten, een ernstiger vorm van terreur dan een illegale oorlog beginnen, is moeilijk te bedenken!!
Alleen door de illegale oorlog van de VS tegen Irak, is deze terreurentiteit intussen al verantwoordelijk voor meer dan 1,5 miljoen vermoorde Irakezen (en ook dat waren nog altijd mensen als u en ik.)………
Overigens, als je naar de behandeling van gekleurde mensen in de VS kijkt, kan je niet anders concluderen, dan dat de VS overheid zich ook op dat gebied als enorme mensenrechtenschender gedraagt………..
Ook het beest en intussen multi-oorlogsmisdadiger Trump, liet in Saoedi-Arabië weten dat Iran een bedreiging voor de vrede en grootschalig leverancier van terreur is…….. Te vrezen valt dan ook, dat de VS er werkelijk over denkt Iran aan te vallen…….. Terwijl de ploert het heeft over vreedzaam samenleven……. ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ‘Vreedzaam samenleven’ is toe aan een nieuwe definiëring: een land naar het stenen tijdperk bombarderen en alle groepen in zo’n land tegen elkaar opzetten!!
In Iran is de gematigde leider en voorstander van hervormingen, Rohani met grote meerderheid van stemmen gekozen. Met de uitlatingen van Trump en Tillerson is de kans groot, dat de extreem conservatieve religieuze tak in Iran meer macht zal opeisen…… Met andere woorden: de leugens van Trump en Tillerson zijn een gevaar voor de hervormingsgezinden in Iran, zoals ook de sancties van de VS tegen Iran deze hervormingsgezinden hinderen in hun werk……
Tot slot zou ik nog willen wijzen, op de in feite illegale oorlog die Saoedi-Arabië tegen buurland Jemen voert. Met een enorm aantal oorlogsmisdaden heeft de Saoedische coalitie (met steun van de VS) meer dan 10.000 mensen vermoord, waaronder een groot aantal vrouwen en kinderen…… S-A heeft zelfs een hongersnood veroorzaakt in Jemen (weet u nog, de laatste Giro555 actie??). Tot overmaat van ramp is er een cholera epidemie uitgebroken in Jemen, ook al te danken aan de terreur van S-A……… (waar de reguliere westerse media en politici geen aandacht voor hebben…)
* Daarmee is de VS ook nog eens verantwoordelijk voor de terreuraanslagen in Europa (al zijn een aantal Europese landen, waaronder Groot-Brittannië en Nederland daar mede verantwoordelijk voor).

Vanmorgen op Radio1, de correspondent voor Israël, Jan Franke, Deze sprak over de uitlatingen van de Israëlische minister van huisvesting, de oorlogshitser en psychopaat Galant, die stelde dat Assad vermoord moet worden, waarna Israël een aanval tegen Iran moet inzetten*.
De VS verspreidde eerder het gerucht, dat Syrië grote aantallen politieke gevangenen zou executeren, iets waar geen greintje bewijs voor werd gevonden. Franke herhaalde dit nepnieuws (of ‘fake news’) echter en voegde daar het laatste nepnieuws uit de VS aan toe, door te stellen, dat e.e.a. blijkt uit VS satellietfoto’s waarop een crematorium te zien zou zijn. U weet wel hetzelfde soort satellietfoto’s waarmee de VS 14 jaar geleden ‘wist te bewijzen’ dat Saddam Hoessein (Irak) massavernietigingswapens had en op basis waarvan dit ‘land’ een illegale oorlog tegen Irak begon, een oorlog die intussen aan meer dan 1,5 miljoen Irakezen het leven heeft gekost……..
Volgens Franke heeft de uitspraak van Galant van alles te maken met die ontdekking van de VS, dat er een crematorium naast een gevangenis in Syrië werd gebouwd, waar tegenstanders van de regering Assad na executie zouden worden gecremeerd…….. Zoals gezegd: Franke bracht e.e.a. op een manier, alsof het hier om feiten gaat en gezien de holocaust zou het niet vreemd zijn, dat Galant zijn uitspraken heeft gedaan, zo voegde Franke toe…….
Franke stelde al evenzeer als feit, dat Israël alleen doelen in Syrië aanvalt, die een directe bedreiging zou zijn voor Israël, dus het bombarderen van Iraanse wapenkonvooien richting Hamas in Libanon……. Ook voor die claim is totaal geen bewijs en wordt ontkend door zowel Syrië als Rusland, sterker nog deze stellen, dat moedwillig het Syrische leger als doelwit werd gebombardeerd, waar alleen terreurgroepen als Al Qaida (al-Nusra) en IS baat bij hebben…………..
Franke vertelde dat Israël stiekem Syriërs oplapt in Israëlische ziekenhuizen, waarna de genezen mensen weer over de Syrische grens worden gezet…… Het echte verhaal is, dat Israël veldhospitalen heeft op de door hen illegaal bezette Golanhoogten, waar terroristen van IS en Al Qaida worden opgelapt, zodat ze door kunnen met de strijd tegen Assad, een zaak die 2 jaar geleden al bekend werd gemaakt……. Bij ernstige verwondingen, kunnen deze terroristen vervoerd worden naar ziekenhuizen in Israël……
Israël heeft er dan ook alle baat bij, dat Syrië wordt opgedeeld en daarmee ‘geen gevaar’ meer is voor Israël, iets dat Franke uiteraard niet vertelde…….
Kortom een smerig gekleurd verhaal van Franke, dat niets, maar dan ook helemaal niets met onafhankelijke journalistiek te maken heeft!!

Het is al lang geen geheim meer, dat de eerste aanzet van de VS om tot een opstand te komen, die moest uitmonden in een staatsgreep tegen het Syrische Assad bewind, dateren van 2006…..
Uit CIA documenten, gepubliceerd op Wikileaks blijkt nu, dat de VS al in 1986 aanstuurde op een staatsgreep tegen Hafes Assad (Hafes el-Assad, de vader van de huidige Syrische president Bashar al-Assad)……
In 1986 was de maffe sociopaat en oorlogsmisdadiger Reagan president van de VS. Ook toen drong de CIA aan op het organiseren van een opstand en coup tegen het Syrische bewind. Destijds zag men de sjiitische bevolking als groep die opgezet moest worden tegen Assad. Dit terwijl juist Assad destijds, als zijn zoon tot voor 2011 de verschillende religieuze groeperingen vreedzaam met elkaar deden samenleven…….

US
PLANS TO TOPPLE ASSAD FAMILY GO BACK SIX PRESIDENTS, CIA DOC REVEALS
Sifting
through the CIA’s database of 11 million+ declassified documents,
WikiLeaks has uncovered a report from 1986 on “possible
scenarios that could lead to the ouster of President Assad.”
Pointing to the potential for exploiting sectarian tensions, the
report nonetheless ironically explains why the US’s current regime
change strategy is wrong.
In
January, the US Central Intelligence Agency put over 11 million of
its declassified files online. On Monday, WikiLeaks discovered that
one of these documents includes a secret report involving scenarios
for ousting Hafez Assad (Bashar Assad’s father) going back all the
way to the Reagan administration.
The document,
created under the supervision of the Director of Global Issues by the
appropriately named Foreign Subversion and Instability Center, and
distributed to senior intelligence officials, as well as officials in
the State Department, the Pentagon, Reagan Middle East policy advisor
Dennis Ross, and William Eagleton, then-US ambassador in Syria.
The
memorandum casually lays out what the CIA envisions to be the
“scenarios that could lead to the ouster of President Hafez
al-Assad in Syria.” The report makes no bones about its
“purposely provocative” nature and tone.
Predating
the 2011 Arab Spring unrest which would engulf Syria in a bloody
foreign-backed civil war by nearly a quarter of a century, the CIA
report offered an effective proto blueprint for US intelligence to
play up factionalism between the Alawite minority (to which the Assad
family belongs) and Sunni Muslims, who make up around three quarters
of Syria’s population.
The
document pointed out that while tensions between the Alawites and
Sunnis had declined significantly by the mid-1980s, “the
potential for serious communal violence remains.” In fact, the
report’s authors argued that a sectarian conflict leading to civil
war is one of the top three options for regime change in Syria, the
other two being a succession power struggle and military setbacks
abroad in Lebanon or Israel sparking a coup.
“A
Sunni rebellion in the late 1970s and early 1980s ended when Assad
crushed the Muslim Brotherhood that spearheaded it,” the report
noted. It added, however that “although we judge that fears of
reprisals and organizational problems make a second Sunni challenge
unlikely, an excessive government reaction to minor outbreaks of
Sunni dissidence might trigger large-scale unrest. In most instances
the regime would have the resources to crush a Sunni opposition
movement, but we believe widespread violence among the populace could
stimulate large numbers of Sunni officers and conscripts to desert or
mutiny, setting the stage for civil war.”
The
failed ‘Sunni challenge’ being referred to was the February 1982
storming of Hama, known in the West as the ‘Hama Massacre’, in which
the Syrian government crushed an Islamist uprising led by the Muslim
Brotherhood-led in the western Syrian city of Hama. The storming of
the city resulted in the deaths of hundreds of soldiers and militants
and several thousand civilians.
Without
getting into too many details, the report claimed that any new
“general campaign of Alawi violence against Sunnis might push
even moderate Sunnis to join the opposition. Remnants of the Muslim
Brotherhood – some returning from exile in Iraq – could provide a
core of leadership for the movement.”
Furthermore,
the report estimated that“although the regime has the resources
to crush such a venture, we believe brutal attacks on Sunni civilians
might prompt large numbers of Sunni officers and conscripts to desert
or stage mutinies in support of dissidents, and Iraq might supply
them with sufficient weapons to launch a civil war.”
Bringing
to mind the long-standing ties between Damascus and Moscow, which go
back to the 1960s, the CIA attempted to predict the Soviet Union’s
likely response to any attempt to oust Assad. It concluded that
Moscow’s best interest would be to preserve the status quo.
Expanding
on the latter idea, the report explained that “business
moderates would see a strong need for Western aid and investment to
build Syria’s private economy, thus opening the way for stronger ties
with Western governments.”
Interestingly,
unlike its Obama-era successors, the CIA of the 1980s had warned that
any prolonged chaos and civil war in Syria would turn it into a
“dangerously erratic force in the region,” and adding that
“a weak government in Damascus might heighten Syria’s
attractiveness as a base for terrorism.”
Ironically,
the report also warned that any gains the US might see by Assad’s
ouster “would be mitigated…if Sunni fundamentalists assumed
power. The reason, again, has to do with Israel’s security:
“Although Syria’s secular traditions would make it extremely
difficult for religious zealots to establish an Islamic Republic,
should they succeed they would likely deepen hostilities with Israel
and provide support and sanctuary for terrorist groups.”
In
reality, of course, the effort to destabilize Syria in the early
2010s was a joint effort by the US and its Israeli, Turkish and Gulf
State allies. It would be Turkey, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, not Iraq,
that would provide the lion’s share of the weapons used by militants.
Furthermore, the CIA report failed to mention or predict the inflow
of tens of thousands of jihadists into Syria from abroad, even though
it was employing similar tactics in Afghanistan against the Soviet
Union during this period.
It’s
unknown whether the CIA of the 1980s genuinely believed that the
‘moderates’ in whom they placed their hopes wouldn’t
immediately be swallowed up by radical Islamists, although US
experiences in Iraq and Afghanistan in the 2000s make it unlikely
that the CIA of the 2000s couldn’t foresee such an eventuality.

Housing Minister Yoav Galant, of the Kulanu Party, yesterday declared
that US claims that Syria’s government has built a crematorium to
dispose of executed prisoners, a fact Syria denies, means “the
time has come to assassinate Assad.”
He went on to liken Assad’s Syria to Nazi Germany.
It’s
unusual for an MP to publicly demand the assassination of a
neighboring head of state, and it’s clearly outside the purview of
the Israeli Housing Ministry to make such a decision. Galant’s
status as a former general appears to be his basis for making the
proclamation.
Galant
declared Assad to be “the tail of the snake,” and insisted that
Israel could assassinate him and then focus on starting a war with
Iran, whom he identified as the “head of the snake.” Picking a
fight with Iran of course is a long-standing Israeli priority.
Galant
conceded that it might not be practical to assassinate Assad, and
that it would be illegal under international law, but insisted Assad
“doesn’t have a place in this world” and needs to be killed
outright. Again, Galant presented this conclusion primarily on the
basis of yesterday’s US State Department claim about a crematorium,
which has not been independently confirmed, and which Syria denies.

Paul Tang, grootoplichter van de PvdA en grofgraaier in het ‘EU parlement’, merkte afgelopen zaterdag in Kots Kamerbreed op, dat ‘ fake news’ (nepnieuws) wordt verspreid via Facebook…….. ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Inderdaad Tang, ook daar kan je berichten van o.a. de Telegraaf, de Volkskrant, NRC en AD vinden!!
Uiteraard doelde Tang daar niet op, nee hij bedoeld de alternatieve mediaorganen, die voor een groot deel bezig zijn met het weerleggen van de berichtgeving in de reguliere (massa-) media, om daarmee het publiek het ware verhaal te vertellen….. Neem de verslaggeving van de reguliere media in aanloop van- en tijdens de illegale oorlogen tegen Afghanistan, Irak, Libië en nu Syrië!! (om over de door de neonazi-junta van Porosjenko geregeerde Oekraïne maar te zwijgen……..).
De pogingen om Rusland zonder enig bewijs te beschuldigen van het hacken en manipuleren van de verkiezingen in de VS, hebben alles te maken met het feit dat Rusland eindelijk obstakels wist op te werpen voor de VS en haar psychopathisch, moorddadig buitenlandbeleid!!
Zo is het artikel op Counterpunch van Mike Whitney samen te vatten, een artikel dat op 13 mei ook door Information Clearing House werd gebracht.
Nogmaals wijst Whitney, volkomen terecht op het feit, dat er voor deze beschuldigen gedaan door de VS, geen nanometer bewijs is. Ondanks dat houden de westerse zogenaamd onafhankelijke reguliere media vol (zoals het overgrote deel van de westerse politici) dat Rusland de verkiezingen in de VS middels hacken en het brengen van ‘fake news’ (nepnieuws) heeft gemanipuleerd.
De hysterie daarover is alleen maar toegenomen en het ene na andere westerse land dat met verkiezingen te maken had of heeft, beschuldigen NB op basis van de VS leugens, Rusland van dezelfde zaak in deze verkiezingen…….. Zoals u al begrepen had: ook voor deze beweringen is geen greintje bewijs!!
Dit alles, terwijl wel bewezen is, dat de NSA bevriende EU landen hackte. Dat de VS op basis van grove leugens de ene na de andere illegale oorlog is begonnen en een deel van de westerse bondgenoten op basis van diezelfde leugens wist mee te krijgen. Waar alle westerse landen die leugens (‘fake news‘) overnamen en als bewezen kwalificeerden……… Nogmaals: dit nadat de VS deze eeuw al 4 keer bewezen heeft gelogen over zaken, waarop het een illegale oorlog begon (de 4de keer, middels de oorlog tegen Syrië. Deze oorlog wordt nog steeds als een binnenlandse aangelegenheid gezien, terwijl de VS zelfs al sinds Reagan bezig was met het plannen van een coup in Syrië*, zo bleek uit officiële CIA documenten op Wikileaks gepubliceerd (daarover zal ik op een later tijdstip berichten)
Jammer dat Whitney in zijn artikel Oekraïne noemt als land, waar Rusland de VS blokkeerde in haar pogingen een hen welwillende regering te installeren en de boel daarmee overnemend. Deze poging is wel degelijk geslaagd en het lullige is, dat Rusland daar niets tegen heeft kunnen doen. Sterker nog: ondanks alle leugens is er alweer totaal geen bewijs voor Russische militaire actie in het oosten van Oekraïne……. Alweer: deze leugen, ofwel ‘fake news’ over Russische acties in Oost-Oekraïne, werd en wordt door dezelfde reguliere westerse mediaorganen en politici volgehouden als waarheid……..
Wat betreft De Krim was het juist de bevolking, ook de oorspronkelijke, die in een door internationale waarnemers goedgekeurd referendum, besloot zich bij Rusland aan te sluiten! Dit is op zeker te danken aan het feit, dat de bevolking van De Krim goed pissig was over de VS geregisseerde opstand en staatsgreep (met 4 miljard dollar!!) tegen de ook door hen democratisch gekozen president Janoekovytsj….. Waar de klap op de spreekwoordelijke vuurpijl bestond uit de door de VS geparachuteerde neonazi-junta van Porosjenko, een junta waaronder de bevolking van De Krim terecht niet wenste te leven!!
Ook deze aansluiting van De Krim bij Rusland wordt door de reguliere westerse media, politici en oorlogshitsers in de NAVO voorgesteld als een agressieve Russische daad: De Krim zou zijn geannexeerd door Rusland……

basis for legal action, no presumption of wrongdoing, and no grounds
for prosecution. They have nothing. Zilch. Their claims,
charges and accusations are like the soap bubbles we give
to our children and grandchildren. The brightly-colored
bubbles wobble across the sky for a minute or two and then,
Poof, they vanish into the ether. The claims of Russia hacking are
like these bubbles. They are empty, unsubstantiated rumors
completely devoid of substance. Poof.
It
has been eight months since the inception of
this unprecedentedly-pathetic and
infinitely-irritating propaganda campaign, and in those eight
months neither the media nor the politicos nor the Intel agents who
claim to be certain that Russia meddled in US elections, have
produced anything that even remotely resembles evidence. Instead,
they have trotted out the same lie over and over again ad
nauseam from every newspaper, every tabloid and every televised
news program in the country. Over and over and over again. The
media’s persistence is nearly as impressive as its
cynicism, which is the one quality that they seem to have
mastered. The coverage has been relentless, ubiquitous,
pernicious and mendacious. The only problem is that there’s
not a grain of truth to any of it. It is all 100 percent, unalloyed
baloney.
So
it doesn’t matter how many Democratic senators and congressmen
disgrace themselves by lighting their hair on fire and
howling about “evil Putin” or the imaginary “threats to our
precious democracy”. Nor does it matter how many hyperbolic
articles appear in media alleging sinister activities and
espionage by diabolical Moscow Central. It doesn’t
matter because there is have absolutely zero solid evidence to
support their ludicrous and entirely politically-based claims.
Whether
Russia was involved in the US elections or not, is a matter of
pure speculation. But speculation is not sufficient grounds for
appointing a special prosecutor, nor are the lies and misinformation
that appear daily in our leading newspapers, like the
dissembling New York Times, the dissemblingWashington Post and
the dissembling Wall Street Journal. The call for a special
prosecutor is not based on evidence, it is based on politics, the
politics of personal destruction. The Democrats and the media want
this tool so they can rummage through whatever private
information or paperwork anyone in the Trump administration
might possess. So while they might not dig up anything relevant to
the Russia hacking investigation, they will certainly gather
enough sordid or suspicious information to annihilate the
people in their crosshairs. And that’s precisely what
the special prosecutor provision is designed to do; it provides
the administration’s rivals with the weapons they
need to conduct a massive fishing expedition aimed at character
assassination and, ultimately, impeachment.
But,
why?
Because
Donald Trump had the audacity to win an election that was earmarked
for establishment favorite and globalist warmonger-in-chief,
Hillary Clinton. That’s what this witch hunt is all about, sour
grapes.
But
why has Russia been chosen as the target in this deep state-media
scam? What has Russia done to deserve all the negative press and
unsupported claims of criminal meddling?
That’s
easy. Just look at a map. For the last 16 years, the US has been
rampaging across North Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia.
Washington intends to control critical oil and natural gas reserves
in the ME, establish military bases across Central Asia, and remain
the dominant player in an area of that is set to become the most
populous and prosperous region of the world. It’s the Great Game
all over again, only this time-around, Uncle Sam is in the drivers
seat not the Queen of England.
But
one country has upset that plan, blocked that plan, derailed that
plan.
Russia.
Russia
has stopped Washington’s murderous marauding and genocidal
depredations in Ukraine and Syria, which is why the US foreign
policy establishment is so pissed-off. US elites aren’t used
to obstacles.
For
the last quarter of a century– since the fall of the Berlin
Wall and the dissolution of the Soviet Union– the world had
been Washington’s oyster. If the president of the United
States wanted to invade a country in the Middle East, kill a
million people, and leave the place in a smoldering pile of rubble,
then who could stop him?
Nobody. Because Washington owns this fucking planet and everyone else
is just a visitor.
Capisce?
But
now all that’s changed. Now “evil Putin” has thrown up a
roadblock to US hegemony in Syria and Ukraine. Now Washington’s
landbridge to Central Asia has been split in two, and
its plan to control vital pipeline corridors from Qatar to the
EU is no longer viable. Russia has stopped Washington
dead-in-its tracks and Washington is furious.
The
anti-Russia hysteria in the western media is equal to the pain the US
foreign policy establishment is currently experiencing. And the
reason the foreign policy establishment is in so much pain, is
because they are not getting their way. It’s that simple.
Their global strategy is in a shambles because Russia will not let
them topple the Syrian government, install their own puppet regime,
redraw the map of the Middle East, run roughshod over international
law, and tighten their grip on another battered war-torn part of
the world.
So
now Russia must pay. Putin must be demonized and derided. The
American people must be taught to hate Russia and all-things Russian.
And, most of all, Russia must be blamed for anything and everything
under the sun, including the firing of a completely worthless
sack of shit FBI Director, James Comey, who– at various times
in his career– “approved or defended some of the worst abuses of
the Bush administration….including torture,
warrantless wiretapping, and indefinite detention.” (ACLU)
This
is the low-down, good-for-nothing scalawag that the Democrats
are now defending tooth in nail.
It’s
pathetic.
Russia
has become the all-purpose punching bag because
Washington’s plans for global domination have gone up in smoke.

Vluchtelingen die via Libië naar Europa willen vluchten en die ‘de boot niet halen’, worden of tot (seks-) slaaf gemaakt, dan wel worden ze vastgehouden voor losgeld, waarna deze mensen worden gedood als het losgeld niet wordt betaald, althans als ze de gevangenis overleven……
Dat in het land waar man en vrouw gelijk waren gesteld voor de wet, het land waar huisvesting, scholing, gezondheidszorg, gas, water en elektra praktisch gratis waren…… Het land waar zowel jongens als meiden in het buitenland konden studeren, waar de staat niet alleen de studie betaalde, maar ook de kosten voor huisvesting en voeding…….
Nu is uitval van elektriciteit aan de orde van de dag (meermaals) in Libië, kosten voor de meest basale zaken zijn torenhoog en de verschillende ‘gematigde rebellen’ voeren een waar schrikbewind…….. Wie nu in Libië durft te zeggen, dat mannen en vrouwen gelijk zijn, loopt grote kans te worden vermoord…..

(MPN) Today’s
Libya is virtually unrecognizable from the Libya of years past.
Following the violent ouster of former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi
in 2011, things have taken a turn for the worse as the north African
nation declines further into failure.
One
example of Libya’s steep decline has been the proliferation of the
illegal arms trade. In 2014, the United Nations named Libya as the
primary source of illegal weapons for
14 different countries, fueling a series of international conflicts.
More recently, a new
report released by
the Geneva-based Small Arms Survey has also labeled Libya as an
international hotspot for illicit weapon sales, examining thousands
of attempted trades.
The
Gaddafi regime, prior to losing power, had tightly regulated the
domestic arms trade and prevented the illegal sale of weapons. But
now, Libya is unable to secure its borders. The weapons market has
surged in the years since the 2011 invasion that resulted in
Gaddafi’s ouster, as the Libyan government’s weapon stores were
looted and quickly fell into the hands of terrorists.
In
addition to appearing on online arms markets, weapons from the
Gaddafi regime’s arsenal have been found throughout North Africa
and the Middle East, particularly in the
hands of Daesh (ISIS) militants who
are active in Syria and Iraq. Many of these weapons were
purchased by the U.S. government and
deliberately given to “moderate rebels” in Syria, which – at
the time – included the al-Nusra Front, a branch of al-Qaeda that
operates in Syria.
In
addition, Libya’s geographical location has led to the growth of
another illicit industry – sex slavery.
With
many West African migrants traveling through Libya as they seek
passage to Europe, sex slavery has become so commonplace that live
slave auctions now occur in plain view of the public, according
to a recent statement from
the International Organization for Migration. Those not sold into
slavery are sometimes thrown in private prisons, where they are held
until their families make a ransom payment. Those whose families are
unable to pay are taken away and killed, while others have reportedly
wasted away from a lack of food and other basic necessities.
Libya
still lacks a federal government, which has led to the rise of
several warring factions, many of them based on tribal affiliations.
Some of the more powerful factions include infamous terrorist groups
like Daesh, who, according to U.S. intelligence agencies cited
by the New York Times,
maintain a presence of some 5,000 fighters in the troubled nation.
Worse
still, while U.S. bombings and some armed Libyan factions have
reduced Daesh’s power, they have also torn
apart the country’s social fabric and
set the stage for all-out civil war. In addition, the
Italian government recently asserted that
Daesh militants are leaving Libya for Europe, posing as wounded
Libyan government soldiers.
Libya
has also been crippled by constant power blackouts and surging prices
for food and other necessities, as well as months of lost salaries
for many people who have been put out of work. The situation has
deteriorated so much that numerous civilians, many of whom once
detested Gaddafi and even fought against his regime in 2011, are
lamenting the loss of the nation’s longtime ruler. Tebu Mohammed, a
Libyan citizen living in Tripoli, expressed the views of many Libyans
when he told
the Daily Mail that
“Libya died with Gaddafi. We are not a nation anymore.”
Gaddafi’s
Libya: prosperous and independent
The
current situation in Libya stands in sharp contrast to what things
were like under Gaddafi’s rule. Despite his 42-year-long despotic
rule, along with his
reputation as
a “crazy leader,” Libya was once Africa’s most economically
successful nation and enjoyed the continent’s highest standard of
living, thanks to handsome oil reserves that helped to fill the
state’s coffers.
Gaddafi
used state money to offer a variety
of popular services including
free electricity, interest-free loans, grants to newlyweds, legal
rights to housing, maternity bonuses for new mothers, free education,
50-percent subsidies on new car purchases and free healthcare. The
country’s literacy rate also rose from 25 to 87 percent during his
time as its leader. In addition, Gaddafi nationalized Libya’s
central bank and kept Libya free of external debt.
However,
Gaddafi committed a cardinal sin in the lead-up to his assassination
– not against the Libyan people, but against the hegemony of the
U.S. dollar. In the early 2000s, Gaddafi had saved up a large amount
of gold and planned to introduce a gold-backed pan-African
currency based
on the Libyan dinar in order to restore economic strength to a
continent besieged by neocolonialism. He had planned to start selling
Libyan oil using the dinar before the 2011 invasion, a move that
would have challenged the petrodollar system – an agreement
negotiated in the 1970s where OPEC nations sell their oil in dollars
in order to create artificial demand for the currency.
Recently
declassified emails from
then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton provided concrete proof that
the dinar was a major determining factor in the invasion of Libya.
Considering this, it should come as no surprise that the Libyan oil
industry, as well as the country’s central bank, were privatized
following Gaddafi’s death.
Libya
is not the only nation to have been decimated by the U.S. for
undermining the dollar’s hegemony. In 2000, former Iraqi President
Saddam Hussein rejected the petrodollar system and began
selling Iraq’s
oil in euros. Despite economic sanctions from the U.S. and its
allies, Iraq had made
millions of dollars as
a result of the switch at the time of the 2003 U.S. invasion.
The
U.S. made an example of Iraq to show what happens when a country
subverts the U.S.’ economic hegemony, doing the same to Libya just
8 years later. With terrorism, slavery and a proliferating illegal
arms trade, Libya’s current condition is showing the world what the
consequences can be when the U.S.’ superpower status is challenged.

month after Trump flip-flopped on his Syrian position, launching
cruise missile strikes on a Syrian airfield as
“after dinner entertainment”
during Trump’s meeting with the Chinese president, just days after
declaring he would allow the Syrian people to decide the fate of
Assad when another “chemical attack” video emerged at the end of
March, a false flag chemical attack against civilians in Syria
was reportedly
filmed recently by al-Jazeera stringers in Syria.
Around
30 fire engines and ambulances, as well as 70 local residents with
children transported from a refugee camp were used in the filming of
the Al Jazeera clip across three locations in Idlib province,
including Jisr Shughur.
The
“effectiveness” of the White Helmets’ TV-spectacle of accusing
Syrian authorities of attacking civilians in Khan Shaykhun with sarin
inspired terrorists to continue filming the fake ‘series’.
According to info confirmed via several channels, al-Jazeera
television channel stringers have recently filmed a staged, fake
scene of an alleged chemical attack against civilians by the Syrian
Army,” the source told Sputnik.
“A
multiple simultaneous uploading of filmed fake footage with
‘screaming’ social media comments was due to take place in the
next few days (by Sunday) at the separate command of a mastermind and
sponsor of the film in one of the European countries.”
This
filming was said to have been ordered from a European country.
It
wouldn’t be the first time – in December 2016, Egyptian
police arrested 5 men for making staged “wounded
children” photos, which they planned to use to misrepresent on
social media as photos of destruction and injured people in Syria’s
Aleppo.
As
a reminder, on April 4, the National Coalition for Syrian
Revolutionary and Opposition Forces claimed that 80 people were
killed and 200 injured in a suspected chemical attack in Khan
Shaykhun, blaming the Syrian government. Damascus vehemently rejected
the accusations and said militants and their allies were responsible.
That video served as a the basis for Trump to launch 59 Tomahawk
missiles at the Syrian military airfiled in Ash Shairat. Trump said
the attack was a response to the alleged chemical weapon use in
Syria’s Idlib, which Washington has blamed on the Syrian
government.
Meanwhile,
Russia described the attack as an aggression against a sovereign
state, while the Russian Foreign Ministry reminded the Trump
administration that all chemical weapons had been taken out of Syria
in mid-2014 as John Kerry infamously declared in 2014. Discussing the
attack, Syrian President Assad said in an interview with Sputnik that
Western states were blocking attempts to investigate the Idlib
chemical incident because in the event of a probe it will be
established that the “attack” was a false flag and lie.
In January
2016, the OPCW announced that Syria’s
weapons arsenal had been destroyed in accordance with an agreement
reached after the 2013 Ghouta attack.

“Here’s
a response to the latest attempt by @medialens to dismiss the
mounting evidence on the authorship of the #KhanSheikhoun attack”
This
is a very serious misrepresentation of what we have argued in two
media alerts. We made our position crystal-clear in the latest
alert:
“We
have no idea who was responsible for the mass killings in Idlib on
April 4; we are not weapons experts. But it seems obvious to us that
arguments and evidence offered by credible sources like Postol should
at least be aired by the mass media”
To
interpret this as an attempt to ‘dismiss the mounting evidence on the
authorship of the #KhanSheikhoun attack’ is to exactly reverse the
truth, which is frankly outrageous from a high-profile Guardian
journalist. We are precisely calling for journalists to notdismiss
evidence on the authorship of the alleged attack. This is why we
quoted investigative reporter Robert
Parry:
“The
role of an honest press corps should be to apply skepticism to all
official stories, not carry water for “our side” and reject
anything coming from the “other side,” which is what The
New York Times, The Washington Post and the rest of the Western
mainstream media have done, especially regarding Middle East policies
and now the New Cold War with Russia”
We
have most certainly noturged
anyone to ‘dismiss’ the White House version of events. We have asked
journalists to consider that version as
well asevidence
offered by credible critics like former UN weapons inspectors Hans
Blix and Scott Ritter, and by investigative journalists like
Parry. We
are clearly arguing in favour of inclusion of evidence, not
exclusion.
Monbiot has simply reversed the truth. In an expanded version of his
tweeted response titled, ‘Disavowal’, he writes:
“There’s
an element on the left that seems determined to produce a mirror
image of the Washington Consensus. Just as the billionaire press and
Western governments downplay and deny the crimes of their allies, so
this element downplays and denies the crimes of the West’s official
enemies “
We
have no interest in downplaying or denying any crimes. We hold no
candle whatever for Assad or Putin, as we held no candle for
Milosevic, Gaddafi or Saddam Hussein. We are simply urging
journalists to consider both ‘Washington Consensus’
arguments andserious
counter-arguments offered by credible sources. Monbiot writes:
“The
pattern is always the same. They ignore a mountain of compelling
evidence and latch onto one or a few contrarians who tell them what
they want to hear (a similar pattern to the 9/11 conspiracy theories,
and to climate change denial). The lastest [sic] example is an
“alert” published by an organisation called Media Lens, in
response to a tweet of mine “
Our
latest alert was not ‘in response’ to Monbiot’s tweet; it was in
response to Professor Postol’s analysischallenging
a White House report on the alleged attacks in Idlib. We simply used
Monbiot’s tweet as a typical example indicating what we described as
the ‘corporate media zeitgeist’.
Is
it reasonable to describe Postol, one of the world’s ‘leading weapons
experts’, according to the New York Times, as a ‘contrarian’? Is Hans
Blix,
who led the weapons inspections team in Iraq in 2002-2003, a
‘contrarian’? How about former UN weapons inspector Scott
Ritter,
who was 100% vindicated by the failure to find WMD in Iraq? Can Noam
Chomsky also be dismissed as merely a ‘contrarian’ following a
‘pattern’ which is ‘always the same’? Chomsky commented recently:
“Well,
there are some interesting questions there — you can understand why
Assad would have been pretty crazy [to provoke a US intervention]
because they’re winning the war. The worst thing for him is to bring
the United States in. So why would he turn to a chemical weapons
attack? You can imagine that a dictator with just local interests
might do it, maybe if he thought he had a green light. But why would
the Russians allow it? It doesn’t make any sense. And in fact, there
are some questions about what happened, but there are some pretty
credible people — not conspiracy types — people with solid
intelligence credentials that say it didn’t happen.
Lawrence
Wilkerson said that the US intelligence picked up a plane and
followed that it probably hit an Al-Qaeda warehouse which had some
sort of chemical weapon stored in it and they spread. I don’t know.
But it certainly calls for at least an investigation. And those are
not insignificant people [challenging the official narrative]”
We
are saying no more or less than this – it
calls for at least an investigation.
Chomsky
pointed to comments made
by Wilkerson, former chief of staff to General Colin Powell, in a
recent interview on the Real News Network:
“I
personally think the provocation was a Tonkin Gulf incident….. Most
of my sources are telling me, including members of the team that
monitors global chemical weapons –including people in Syria,
including people in the US Intelligence Community–that what most
likely happened …was that they hit a warehouse that they had
intended to hit…and this warehouse was alleged to have to [sic]
ISIS supplies in it, and… some of those supplies were precursors
for chemicals….. conventional bombs hit the warehouse, and due to a
strong wind, and the explosive power of the bombs, they dispersed
these ingredients and killed some people”
There
is also the collective judgementof
20 former members of the US Intelligence Community, the Steering
Group of the Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity:
Our
U.S. Army contacts in the area have told us this is not what
happened. There was no Syrian “chemical weapons attack.”
Instead, a Syrian aircraft bombed an al-Qaeda-in-Syria ammunition
depot that turned out to be full of noxious chemicals and a strong
wind blew the chemical-laden cloud over a nearby village where many
consequently died…..This is what the Russians and Syrians have been
saying and – more important –what they appear to believe
happened.’
Monbiot’s
‘one or a few contrarians’ include all of the above, plus
journalists John
Pilger, Jonathan
Cook, Peter
Hitchens, Gareth
Porter, Philip
Giraldi,
and others. They also include Piers Robinson, Professor of Politics,
Society and Political Journalism at the University of Sheffield, who
responded to our request for a comment:
“Monbiot
supports the official narrative that the Assad regime is responsible
for the April 4 event when it is alleged that Assad’s forces launched
a chemical weapon attack on civilians. He is presenting this as
factually correct even though some credible commentators have raised
questions regarding these claims and whilst there remains a lack of
compelling evidence. In a recent posting Monbiot quotes recent French
intelligence service claims regarding Assad’s guilt in this matter.
The
problem here is that there are substantial grounds for remaining
cautious of official claims. It is no secret that Western governments
and key allies of theirs (Saudi Arabia, Qatar) have been seeking the
overthrow of Assad for many years now. Indeed, the recently published
Chilcot Inquiry, in section 3.1, revealed discussions between Blair
and Bush which indicate that Syria was considered a potential target
straight after 9/11. Given these objectives it is entirely plausible
that Western intelligence services might be manipulating information
so as to generate the impression that the Assad regime is
responsible. Indeed, this kind of propaganda was well documented in
the run up to the 2003 invasion of Iraq when weak intelligence was
used by US and British politicians to justify their certainty that
Iraq possessed WMD. These are all very good reasons for journalists
and commentators to ask challenging questions rather than to dismiss
out of hand any such attempts in the way Monbiot does” (Email to

Tim
Hayward, Professor of Environmental Political Theory at Edinburgh
University, has also responded to Monbiot’s piece here:
“There
are serious unsettled questions about every aspect of the incident,
not only the anomalies concerning time of incident, identity of
victims, causes of death, role of White Helmets, and about whose
interests it served, but also concerning the forensic evidence
itself”
In
a tweeted response, he repeated his opinion that people like me, who
question it, are denying a mountain
of evidence.
“So
to state a point that should not need stating: to question is not to
deny – although nor is it to affirm. It is to seek knowledge and
understanding. Being less impressed than George by the quantity of
data presented as evidence, I have only ever commented on
its quality”
Hayward
adds that in Monbiot’s latest post: ‘he has entrenched more deeply
his defence of the NATO narrative’.
Monbiot
says ‘the pattern is always the same’. In fact, there is indeed a
pattern of ‘mainstream’ media insisting on the need for war in
response to unproven claims that are often later debunked. We gave
several examples in our first
alert on
the alleged chemical weapons attacks in Idlib. It is absurd for
Monbiot to wearily dismiss our ‘pattern’, when our scepticism over
claims made on Iraq and Libya – and numerous other issues, over many
years – has so obviously been justified. Again, our problem is with
the refusal of ‘mainstream’ media to report or discuss the opinions
of credible experts challenging government claims.

Je kan concluderen dat wij geen Nederlands MISOC nodig hebben, ten eerste daar de reguliere media alles overnemen, wat de VS regering en het Pentagon (via MISOC) te zeggen hebben. MISTRY* of PSYOP: Putting MISO in Perspective”
in 2011.
The
mission of the Military
Information Support Operations Command (MISOC)
is to influence enemy, neutral, and friendly nations and forces into
holding favorable opinions and/or taking complementary actions
regarding ongoing operations by the United States and its allies.

ranking U.S. military leaders have so distorted the truth when
communicating with the U.S. Congress and American people in regards
to conditions on the ground in Afghanistan that the truth has become
unrecognizable,

Before
his death, Michael Hastings was one of the first to obtain Lt. Col.
Davis’s 84-page
report and
published it in Rolling
Stone magazine.
In
February 2012, Hastings was quoted in
regard to the report:
“I
think it’s one of the most significant documents that we’ve seen
from an active-duty Army officer in terms of how they view the war in
Afghanistan, even the war in Iraq. You can look at this as a
significant document about the last 10 years of conflict in America.
And it’s not so much as what Colonel Davis is saying, though that’s
very important, too. It’s the fact that you have a 17-year Army
veteran, who’s done four tours—two in Afghanistan and two in
Iraq—who has decided to risk his entire career—because he has
two-and-a-half more years left before he gets a pension—because he
feels that he has a moral obligation to do so.”
MISO
manipulates their targets into distributing information using logic,
fear, desire, and other mental factors to trigger desired emotions,
attitudes, or behaviors. It is vital for MISO communicators to fully
comprehend how the target population acts, thinks, and communicates.
In
2010, the unpopular Psychological Operations field was rebranded as
Military Information Support and Operations. PSYOP
= MISO. The
unit, which currently operates under U.S. Army Special Operations
Command (USASOC),
is comprised of less than 3,000 members. MISO activities are built
upon the idea that human will is shaped by information, beliefs, and
perceptions.
While
speaking to Business
Insider about
the enactment of the Smith-Mundt Modernization Act of 2012, Lt. Col.
Daniel Davis described MISOC’s
overall objective of influencing target audiences to hold favorable
opinions of the U.S. and its allies by using modes of communication
similar to journalism:
“In
context, Colonel Leap is implying we ought to change the law to
enable Public Affairs officers to influence
American public opinionwhen
they deem it necessary to ‘protect a key friendly center of
gravity, to wit US national will.’”
“The Smith-Mundt
Modernization Act of 2012appears
to serve this purpose by allowing for the American public to be a
target audience of U.S. government-funded information campaigns.
“Lt.
Col. Davis also quotes Brigadier General Ralph O. Baker — the
Pentagon officer responsible for the Department of Defense’s Joint
Force Development — who defines Information Operations (IO) as
activities undertaken to ‘shape the essential narrative of a
conflict or situation and thus affect the attitudes and behaviors of
the targeted audience.’“
Last
month, a pair of Military Information Support Operations (MISO)
instructors from Special Operations Command Forward Northwest Africa
provided training to a small group of Moroccans in Tifnit, Morocco.
This opportunity was only possible because of Exercise
Flintlock 2017,
which involved more than 2,000 military personnel from 24 African and
western nations.
“To
conduct good [information operations], good MISO, you need an overall
end state for what you’re trying to accomplish,” said the
MISO element leader to Joel Harding. “Engaging
the people — getting them the proper amount of information, the
right information, through whatever means they receive the
information from—showing them we’ll back up what we say with what
we’ll do, they’ll, in turn, trust us or the host nation
government.”
A
MISO communicator must understand exactly what they are trying to
communicate before engaging with a target they seek a connection to,
in addition to where and how that information exchange should take
place. An optimized
audience analysis is
critical for successful MISO actions. In order to be
effective, MISO-trained
personnel must
be experts when it comes to current events, history, culture,
linguistics, and socio-political characteristics of their intended
audience.

Capabilities:
The
EC-130J Commando Solo: Inside The Air Force’s Secret Psyops Plane
Consider
any modern U.S. military operation, and chances are that the Air
Force’s EC-130J Commando Solo MISOC plane was nearby attempting to
influence the minds of the civilians below.
What
exactly does the EC-130J Commando Solo do? The U.S. Air Force uses
the Lockheed aircraft in
support of psychological operations for MISOC.
The specially-modified four-engine Hercules transport is tasked with
conducting Military Information Support Operations (MISO) and civil
affairs broadcasts in radio, television, and military communications
bands.
How
has the Lockheed EC-130J Commando Solo been modified? The aircraft
has received enhanced navigation systems, self-protection equipment,
air refueling capabilities, and the ability to broadcast their own
signal over AM and FM radio, UHF and VHF television bands, or
override broadcast stations on the ground on all worldwide standards.
The 193rd Special Operations Wing operates a fleet of three of these
EC-130J aircraft.
They
have quite literally been converted into flying radio and
television stations.
Trump
April 26th AM Radio Broadcasts From September 2016
A
recent internet conspiracy involving two AM radio broadcasts recorded
on video in New Jersey and one in Iowa from September 2016 warned of
what appeared to be an imminent attack on Washington D.C. Is this how
a MISO operation might look to an ordinary civilian? Could conspiracy
theories and numerous strange ‘coincidences’ be manipulated to
trigger desired emotions, attitudes, or behaviors in a target
audience? Are we suggesting this is what actually occurred? Certainly
not. It is impossible to verify without behind-the-scenes access.
However, such a tactic seems to match MISOC capabilities and
strategy.
Could
this AM radio broadcast have been a trap set in the battlefield of
modern media information operations orchestrated by MISOC? Who knows.
Now
here’s where things get weird…
On
April 26th, we tracked an
EC-130J Commando Solo plane on radar taking off from an airfield just
north of Harrisburg, PA. The Air Force’s secret
psyops plane then
flew to Niagara Falls, lowered altitude, and circled the area
multiple times. This occurred during a massive nuclear
attack drill (Operation
Gotham Shield)
surrounding New York City, in addition to a massive Washington
D.C. terrorism
drill.
Throughout
the day, we also tracked the following military aircraft:
What
was the EC-130J Commando Solo doing circling Niagara Falls at a low
altitude? Before we get too far ahead of our ourselves, yes, what we
witnessed on radar was also observed by civilians on the ground.
Could
the U.S. government be running drills to someday broadcast their own
signal over AM and FM radio — or UHF and VHF television bands —
by overriding broadcast
stations on the ground using the EC-130J Commando Solo when the next
major terrorist attack, or perhaps an EMP, takes place? Or are they
already doing so?
Could
it be that these military aircraft were rehearsing U.S. plans for a
doomsday situation? Ironically, or perhaps not, the United
States launched an
unarmed intercontinental ballistic missile off the coast California
on the very same day — during escalated tensions with North Korea.
MISO
carries out missions for the United States Army Special Operations
Command (USASOC), and USASOC’s job is to synchronize planning of
global operations against terrorist networks.

target audiences in order to influence their emotions, motives,
reasoning, and ultimately the behavior of foreign governments,
organizations, groups, and individuals.”

If
MISOC is manipulating targets into spreading information about
ongoing operations using only logic, fear, desire, or other mental
factors to trigger specific emotions, attitudes, or behaviors of U.S.
civilian populations, this is exactly how it could be done. This is
how it has already been
done in foreign countries.
Have
Americans fallen victim to themselves, being psychologically
manipulated by their own government into an unknown end goal? A
massive campaign USASOC has tasked MISOC with carrying out by using
the current events, culture, history, news websites, conspiracy
theories, and socio-political characteristics of their intended
target audience?
“Just
as important to understanding NS propaganda is the importance of
conducting a thorough Target Audience Analysis (TAA). The process of
understanding a target audience is critical to determining if your
Target Audience is susceptible and capable of being influenced. If a
MISO operator does not understand the depth of an individual’s
condition, concerns, fears, ambitions, and vulnerabilities, then MISO
will not be effective. It is hoped that this document will assist in
a more analytical formulation of Target Audience Analysis concepts,
plans, programs, themes, and messages that can be synchronized
effectively with national policy and commander’s mission. MISO can
have an incredible impact on a populace if it is planned,
synchronized, and conducted properly.”

– In
the midst of complaining about the Islamist threat to Israel and the
world, Bibi Netanyahu conveniently forgets that his own
country enjoys a
tacit alliance with ISIS in
Syria. It is an alliance of convenience to be sure and one
that’s not boasted about by either party. But is not terribly
different from one than Israel enjoys with its other Muslim allies
like Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States.
Bogie Yaalon served as
defence minister in the current government till he had a falling out
with Netanyahu. Now Yaalon plans to form his own party and run
against his former boss. Unfortunately for him, he’s not
polling well and doesn’t appear to be much of a political threat.
So
Yaalon enjoys the position of having little to lose. He can
speak more candidly than the average politician. In this
context, he spoke
at length on
security matters at a public event in Afula. There is always
much that I disagree with whenever I read Yaalon’s views. For
example, while warning about the danger of favoring too heavily one
side over the other, he essentially justifies Israel’s
interventionist approach, which largely has favored Assad’s
opponents. Nor do I like his choice of political
allies–from Pam
Geller to Meir
Kahane’s grandson.
But he did reveal how
closely tied Israel is to ISIS in Syria. I’ve documented, along
with other journalists, Israeli collaboration with al-Nusra, an
affiliate of al-Qaeda. But no Israeli till now has admitted it
has forged an alliance with ISIS as well. Below Yaalon
implicitly confirms this below:
“…Within
Syria there are many factions: the regime, Iran, the Russians, and
even al-Qaeda and ISIS. In such circumstances, one must develop
a responsible, carefully-balanced policy by which you protect your
own interests on the one hand, and on the other hand you don’t
intervene. Because if Israel does intervene on behalf of one
side, it will serve the interests of the other; which is why we’ve
established red lines. Anyone who violates our sovereignty will
immediately feel the full weight of our power. On most
occasions, firing comes from regions under the control of the regime.
But once the firing came from ISIS positions–and it
immediately apologized“.
The attack he refers to
was never reported in Israeli media. Either the information was
placed under gag order or under military censorship. It was
suppressed most certainly because both the firing by an Israeli
Islamist ally on Israeli territory and ISIS’ apology would
embarrass both Israel and the Islamists.
Keep in mind, this is the
same ISIS which beheaded a Jewish-American who’d lived in Israel:
Steven Sotloff. The same ISIS which raped Yazidi women and
threw gay men off buildings. The same ISIS which has rampaged
through the Middle East sowing havoc and rivers of blood wherever it
goes. The same ISIS which Netanyahu routinely excoriates as
being the root of all evil in the world.
It’s common knowledge
that Israeli foreign policy going back to the days of Ben Gurion has
been exceedingly opportunistic and amoral. So I suppose one
shouldn’t be surprised at this new development.
But still it
does momentarily take one’s breath away to contemplate just how
sleazy Israel’s motives can be.
Tikun
Olam (Hebrew: תיקון
עולם tikkun
olam, “repairing the world”) is a Seattle-based political
blog that regularly reports on Israeli security matters. The blog was
created in 2003 by Richard Silverstein and covers the Arab–Israeli
conflict. Silverstein describes it as a “liberal Jewish blog”

(ANTIWAR) In
a shocking revelation, former Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon
(Likud), who served from 2013 until mid-2016, revealed that the
November gunbattle between Israeli troops and ISIS forces along the
Golan frontier, materially the only significant fight between the two
sides, was
followed up with an ISIS “apology.”
Being
ISIS generally speaking means never having to say you’re sorry, and
the group has no real allies so it generally doesn’t come up. That
ISIS felt the need to apologize to Israel for the brief clash, which
had no Israeli casualties, speaks volumes about the group’s
position.
Ya’alon
revealed this apology in the context of comments about Israel’s
policy in Syria, and its repeated airstrikes against Syrian military
targets whenever any cross-border fire is reported has led Syria to
repeatedly complain that Israel is a de facto ally of the rebels.
It
appears ISIS may see things this way too, at least for now. Despite
ISIS making public statements playing up their animosity toward
Israel, and their ideology clearly positioning them as an enemy, they
likely see Israel as an ally of convenience.
Israeli
officials have largely treated ISIS the same way, as while they
sometimes express public concerns about the rise of ISIS, they have
already repeatedly made clear that they prefer
Syria to end up under the control of ISIS instead
of being
an ally to
Iran.
