Ongelofelijk maar wel eerder aangekondigd: Facebook dat de laatste jaren zo op de ‘fake news trommel’ heeft geroffeld, staat honderden advertenties toe van Trumps verkiezingscampagne met keiharde leugens over het stemrecht…… De ophef zeker onder Democraten is groot, niet verwonderlijk als je bedenkt dat met deze advertenties het volk wordt misleid en dat Trump o.a. daarmee een tweede termijn kan veiligstellen…..
De Trump administratie wil het stemmen per post onmogelijk maken, daarvan zijn vooral Democratische kiezers afhankelijk en als Trump zijn zin krijgt de dupe, althans als het Coronavirus nog langer haar slopende werk blijft doen, of zelfs omslaan in een tweede golf in de VS….. Als dat gebeurt zullen nog minder Democratische kiezers ter stembus gaan en afhankelijk zijn van stemmen per post (dat zou men hier ook al moeten voorbereiden, althans als de hysterie aanhoudt)…… Trump heeft al laten zien dat hij desnoods de hele postbezorging wil frustreren en naar god helpen…..
De Democraten hadden vorig jaar al moeten toeslaan toen topgraaier Zuckerberg, de eigenaar van Facebook, liet weten dat in de gang naar de verkiezingen (a.s. november) zijn platform leugens van de politieke partijen zou toestaan……. Na die mededeling hadden alle signalen op rood moeten staan, zeker gezien alle leugens over Russische bemoeienis met en de zogenaamde manipulatie door dat land van de presidentsverkiezingen in 2016……
Je kan er dan ook donder op zeggen dat de Democraten destijds hebben besloten niets te doen, immers ook zij kunnen hun leugens ventileren op Facebook….. Mede met de desinformatie over het stemrecht kan Trump inderdaad zijn tweede termijn veiligstellen, niet voor niets ook dat Trump een paar maanden geleden liet weten, dat wanneer iedere VS burger (‘Amerikaan’) die mag stemmen en dat zou doen, de Republikeinen nooit meer aan de macht zouden komen…..
Kortom het is duidelijk dat de Democraten zich in de vingers hebben gesneden door Zuckerberg niet onmiddellijk ter verantwoording te roepen en nu dus moord en brand schreeuwen….. (ook al is de reden daarvoor volkomen legitiem) Ofwel de Democraten zijn enorme hypocrieten, die elke intelligentie missen om te kunnen zien wat de consequenties zijn van zaken die van meet af aan totaal belachelijk en in feite misdadig zijn, zoals de mededeling van Facebook dat leugens in aanloop van de verkiezingen zullen worden getolereerd……
Ach ja de Democraten, een stel hypocrieten die in feite dezelfde zaken behartigen als de Republikeinen, neem de verkiezingsbeloften van Obama, hij zou de (illegale) oorlogen stoppen die George W. Bush is begonnen, waarvoor hij prematuur de Nobelprijs voor de Vrede ontving, echter in de praktijk was Obama de eerste president die de VS twee volledige termijnen in de ‘oorlogsstand’ hield….. Hij begon NB ook nog eens drie oorlogen, één in Oost-Oekraïne, één in Libië en in feite ook die tegen de regering Assad in Syrië…… Al vanaf 2006 was de VS bezig met de voorbereiding van die laatste oorlog, eerst werd middels een door de CIA georganiseerde ‘opstand’ gepoogd Assad weg te krijgen, daarna door het ‘invliegen van terreurgroepen’, inclusief IS (ISIS) en uiteindelijk door een onverholen deelname van de VS aan die door henzelf georganiseerde oorlog…..
Wij kunnen uiteraard niet meedoen aan de door de Democraten op poten gezette petitie waarvan je de tekst hieronder vindt, echter belangrijk genoeg om over te nemen en nog eens te laten zien dat men totaal geen moeite heeft met het brengen van fake news (nepnieuws) en andere leugens, zolang het maar in het eigen straatje past………
Moet je nagaan: al een paar maanden is men in de VS bezig met het brengen van de leugen dat China en Rusland de verkiezingen in de VS nu al manipuleren…… ha! ha! ha! ha! In de VS heeft men niemand nodig om de verkiezingen te manipuleren, men is daarvoor zelf kranig genoeg, zoals ook nu weer blijkt…..
Vreemd overigens dat de reguliere media, die de leugen blijven herhalen dat Rusland de presidentsverkiezingen van 2016 heeft gemanipuleerd, amper of geen woord vuil maakten aan de Israëlische psychopathische oorlogsmisdadiger Netanyahu, die in het congres in 2015 het volk te verstaan gaf toch vooral op Trump te stemmen tijdens de verkiezingen een jaar daarna, dit daar Obama al had beloofd zijn veto uit te spreken over nieuwe sancties tegen Iran…….. De tevens ordinaire misdadiger Netanyahu loog toen zelfs keihard dat Iran binnen een paar weken een heel arsenaal aan kernwapens zou kunnen fabriceren…… ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Dan nog de gift van $ 1,200.– van Trump aan elke inwoner van de VS (althans als die legaal is in de VS), alsof dat niet een uiterst smerige vorm is van stemmen kopen….. Trump had daarvoor verordonneerd dat elke check zijn naam als gever moest bevatten, over manipulatie van de verkiezingen gesproken >> totaal belachelijk en dit zou in een echte democratie zonder meer als misdadig worden beoordeeld!!
Vergeet na dit ‘alles’ niet de enorme kapitalen die grote bedrijven in de verkiezinggscampagnes steken, waarmee ze invloed kopen in de volgende administratie die de VS zal leiden…. Veel van die bedrijven geven beide kandidaten een fiks bedrag…… Alsof dit geen ongeoorloofde beïnvloeding is van de presidentsverkiezingen…… Te zot voor woorden dat dit mag en dat die bedrijven dit zo openlijk doen……
Tell Facebook to STOP the lies about voting rights on their platform
Facebook has repeatedly refused to hold Trump to any sort of standard on its platform. And now, as states consider expanding their vote-by-mail options to help Americans vote safely in November – the Trump campaign is once again relying on the platform’s lax policies to incite fear and misinformation about efforts to expand voting options.
Trump’s re-election campaign has already purchased over 500 Facebook ads that spread disproven claims about voter fraud.1 And how can these false, irresponsible ads run unchecked?
Because Facebook exempts politicians’ ads — including Trump’s — from any fact-checking. And even though Facebook claims it bans political ads that discourage people from voting, the platform has done nothing to stop the Trump campaign from publishing its harmful ads.
Clearly, the team at Facebook has learned nothing from its 2016 debacle — when the presidential election was polluted by foreign lies and propaganda shared on the platform.
In an election year where the stakes could not be higher, these posts could discourage everyday Americans from exercising their right to vote.
As the November elections approach, I hope you’ll join me in demanding real accountability for Facebook.

Het laatste bewijs dat de VS geen vrede wenst in Afghanistan en tegelijkertijd Rusland demoniseert als agressieve terreurstaat, bestond afgelopen week uit de nieuwste leugen van geheime diensten in de VS (in totaal heeft die terreurstaat er meer dan 25!!), die zonder enig bewijs claimen dat Russische geheim agenten ofwel spionnen de Taliban betalen voor het aanvallen van VS doelen en die van haar bondgenoten ofwel andere NAVO-lidstaten als Nederland…… Deze leugen werd overgenomen door de reguliere massamedia in dat gestolen land (en intussen ook in Nederland, zo meer daarover)…… Overigens ook andere westerse geheime diensten hebben de leugens van hun collega’s in de VS overgnomen…..
Niet een flinter aan bewijs, maar dat is geen probleem voor de belangrijkste geheime diensten van de VS (en de rest van het westen), immers diensten als de CIA en NSA hebben het met leugens zelfs voor elkaar gekregen dat deze vereniging van terreurstaten meerdere illegale oorlogen is begonnen, waarbij alleen deze eeuw al meer dan 2,5 miljoen slachtoffers zijn omgekomen, ofwel die mensen werden vermoord door de VS en de door haar militair geleide terreurorganisatie NAVO……*
Ongelofelijk dat de VS maar door kan blijven gaan met haar grootschalige terreur, zonder dat de rest van de (westerse-) wereld op haar kop staat vanwege deze enorme oorlogsmisdaden en misdaden tegen de menselijkheid….. Een figuur als Assad zou nog niet wegkomen met een tiende van de terreur die de VS uitoefent waar het haar uitkomt…..
Het meest lullig is wel dat de VS zelf heeft gedaan wat het Rusland nu verwijt en dat ging nog wel heel wat verder dan een fooi geven: toen de democratisch gekozen communistische regering Afghanistan leidde, heeft de CIA de Taliban georganiseerd rond één doel: deze regering te lijf gaan. Rusland werd te hulp geroepen door deze Afghaanse regering, zonder dat de CIA daarvan op de hoogte was (daar zijn een paar koppen voor gerold binnen de CIA). Daarop heeft de VS de Taliban volgepropt met wapens en hen militaire training gegeven……
Anders gezegd: De VS heeft de Taliban getraind en bewapend, wat zich uiteindelijk tegen de VS heeft gekeerd nadat deze terreurstaat in 2001 illegaal Afghanistan is binnengevallen en een illegale oorlog ontketende die tot op de dag van vandaag voortduurt en dat al 19 jaar lang (vergelijk dat met de ellende in Nederland tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog die 5 jaren ‘lang’ duurde en waar de nazi-Duitse bezetter buiten de vreselijke misdaad van het deporteren en vermoorden van Nederlandse: Joden, Roma, Sinti en homo’s, voorts nog niet de helft aan vernielingen heeft aangericht dan de VS en de NAVO in Afghanistan……)
CaitlinJohnstone die het hieronder opgenomen artikel schreef merkt volkomen terecht op dat met deze laatste propaganda leugen van de VS de vredesbesprekingen die zouden plaatsvinden tussen de Taliban en de VS worden getorpedeerd….. Nogmaals terecht merkt Johnstone op dat de Taliban geen geld van Rusland nodig heeft om VS doelen aan te vallen, een bezetter die het land voor een fiks deel heeft platgegooid en al 19 jaar te lang illegaal op Afghaanse bodem verblijft……
Zoals te verwachten was de buitenland deskundige van BNR, Bernard Hammelburg geheel in zijn nopjes met de leugens van de geheime diensten uit de VS: gistermorgen op die zender rond 7.51 u. blies deze opgeblazen rollade hoog van de toren alsof het hier de vondst van de eeuw betrof….. Hammelburg heeft herhaald gesteld dat hij het beste buitenlandprogramma in Nederland maakt en dat hij objectief en onpartijdig is….. ha! ha! ha! ha! Deze hansworst heeft meermaals de leugens geloofd die de CIA en NSA naar buiten brachten, waarmee o.a. de illegale oorlogen van de VS werden gerechtvaardigd en ook nu liet deze zakkenwasser weten dat hij het verhaal zonder meer gelooft….. ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! (nogmaals: zonder dat daar een flinter aan bewijs voor werd geleverd!!!) Volgens Hammelburg, die al eens in Afghanistan zou zijn geweest, is de Taliban makkelijk om te kopen en zo noemden hij en zijn collega’s de leden van deze o.a. bevolkingsgroep en verzetsgroep met dezelfde naam: ‘The 10 dollar Taliban…..’ Ofwel voor 10 dollar vermoordde men mensen…. Niets nieuws immers dit gebeurt overal en hoe rijker een land hoe hoger de prijs!! Nee, heel geloofwaardig Hammelburg, Rusland die zo dom zou zijn om in Afghanistan te gaan stoken terwijl het grootste deel van de huidige bewoners de Russen wel kunnen vreten en al zeker de leden van de verzetsgroep met de naam Taliban…. Een andere bolronde BNR presentator, van Werven vroeg Hammelburg of er ook Nederlandse militairen worden ‘getarget’ (van Werven vervoegt graag Engelse woorden en werkwoorden als Nederlandse werkwoorden….). Volgens Hammelburg lopen inderdaad ook Nederlandse militairen de kans te worden vermoord, Nederlandse militairen die gvd blijkbaar nog steeds deelnemen aan de illegale oorlog in Afghanistan en dat ten koste van ons belastinggeld….. Lachen past hier niet, maar vanaf dat de VS illegaal Afghanistan binnentrok zijn er VS militairen en die van de andere NAVO-lidstaten vermoord in Afghanistan, het is immers oorlog in dat land!!!! Het meest lullige is wel dat er onnoemlijk veel meer Afghanen zijn vermoord door de VS terreurcoalitie….. Wat een enorme oliebol die Hammelburg… Blijkbaar vond Hammelburg het nog nodig te zeggen dat Trump blijkbaar niet op de hoogte was van e.e.a. dat komt door diens medewerkers en dan spreekt men volgens Hammelburg over plausible deniability……. ha! ha! ha! ha! Héééél interessant Hammelburg, maar waar slaat ‘t op, het is oorlog in Afghanistan en de fascistische psychopaat Trump weet echt wel dat de Taliban VS militairen aanvalt…… Bovendien heeft Hammleburg niet goed opgelet, zie daarvoor het derde en Twitterbericht in het hieronder opgenomen artikel, waar als laatste het volgende is te lezen: Russia Secretly Offered Afghan Militants Bounties to Kill U.S. Troops, Intelligence Says The Trump administration has been deliberating for months about what to do about a stunning intelligence assessment. (een Twitterbericht van Richard N. Haass, een bipslikker van G.W. Bush). En dan nogmaals: de leugens van de geheime dienst over Russische inmenging dienen maar één doel: de VS moet in Afghanistan blijven, niet alleen vanwege de strategische ligging, maar ook vanwege grondstoffen (Johnstone gaat daar verder op in)
Hammelburg heeft ten overvloede bewezen dat hij geen deskundige is door alle leugens van de gehieme diensten in de VS te geloven, terwijl die al zo vaak aantoonbaar hebben gelogen!!! En dat Hammelburg noch objectief, noch onpartijdig is, heeft hij ook al ‘iets te vaak’ bewezen, jezus wat een enorme koekwaus!!!

All western mass media outlets are now shrieking about the story The New York Timesfirst reported, citing zero evidence and naming zero sources, claiming intelligence says Russia paid out bounties to Taliban-linked fighters in Afghanistan for attacking the occupying forces of the US and its allies in Afghanistan. As of this writing, and probably forevermore, there have still been zero intelligence sources named and zero evidence provided for this claim.
As we discussed yesterday, the only correct response to unsubstantiated claims by anonymous spooks in a post-Iraq invasion world is to assume that they are lying until you’ve been provided with a mountain of hard, independently verifiable evidence to the contrary. The fact that The New York Times instead chose to uncritically parrot these evidence-free claims made by operatives within intelligence agencies with a known track record of lying about exactly these things is nothing short of journalistic malpractice. The fact that western media outlets are now unanimously regurgitating these still 100 percent baseless assertions is nothing short of state propaganda.
The consensus-manufacturing, Overton window-shrinking western propaganda apparatus has been in full swing with mass media outlets claiming on literally no basis whatsoever that they have confirmed one another’s “great reporting” on this completely unsubstantiated story.
“The Wall Street Journal and The Washington Post have confirmed our reporting,” the NYT story’s co-author Charlie Savage tweeted hours ago.
“We have confirmed the New York Times’ scoop: A Russian military spy unit offered bounties to Taliban-linked militants to attack coalition forces in Afghanistan,” tweetedThe Washington Post‘s John Hudson.
“We matched The New York Times’ great reporting on how US intel has assessed that Russians paid Taliban to target US, coalition forces in Afghanistan, which is a pretty stunning development,” tweeted Wall Street Journal’s Gordon Lubold.
The Wall Street Journal article co-authored by Gordon Lubold cites only anonymous “people”, who we have no reason to believe are different people than NYT’s sources, repeating the same unsubstantiated assertions about an intelligence report. The article cites no evidence that Lubold’s “stunning development” actually occurred beyond “people familiar with the report said” and “a person familiar with it said“.
The fact that both Hudson and Lubold were lying about having confirmed the New York Times‘ reporting means that Savage was also lying when he said they did. When they say the report has been “confirmed”, what they really mean is that it has been agreed upon. All the three of them actually did was use their profoundly influential outlets to uncritically parrot something nameless spooks want the public to believe, which is the same as just publishing a CIA press release free of charge. It is unprincipled stenography for opaque and unaccountable intelligence agencies, and it is disgusting.

None of this should be happening. The New York Timeshas admitted itself that it was wrong for uncritically parroting the unsubstantiated spook claims which led to the Iraq invasion, as has The Washington Post. There is no reason to believe Taliban fighters would require any bounty to attack an illegitimate occupying force. The Russian government has denied these allegations. The Taliban has denied these allegations. The Trump administration has denied that the president or the vice president had any knowledge of the spook report in question, denouncing the central allegation that liberals who are promoting this story have been fixated on.
Yet this story is being magically transmuted into an established fact, despite its being based on literally zero factual evidence.
Western propagandists are turning this completely empty story into the mainstream consensus, not with facts, not with evidence, and certainly not with journalism, but with sheer brute force of narrative control. And now you’ve got Joe Biden once again attacking Trump for being insufficiently warlike, this time because “he failed to sanction or impose any kind of consequences on Russia for this egregious violation of international law”.
You’ve also got former George W Bush lackey Richard Haas promoting “a proportionate response” to these baseless allegations.
“Russia is carrying out covert wars vs US troops in Afghanistan and our democracy here at home,” Haas tweeted with a link to the New York Times story. “A proportionate response would increase the costs to Russia of its military presence in Ukraine and Syria and, using sanctions and cyber, to challenge Putin at home.”
Haas is the president of the Council on Foreign Relations, a wildly influential think tank with its fingers in most major US news outlets.
“This story is published just in time to sabotage US-Russia arms control talks,” Antiwar‘s Dave DeCamp noted on Twitter. “As the US is preparing for a new arms race — and possibly even live nuclear tests — the New York Times provides a great excuse to let the New START lapse, making the world a much more dangerous place. Russiagate has provided the cover for Trump to pull out of arms control agreements. First the INF, then the Open Skies, and now possibly the New START. Any talks or negotiations with Russia are discouraged in this atmosphere, and this Times story will make things even worse.”
“US ‘intelligence’ agencies (ie, organized crime networks run by the state) want to sabotage the (admittedly very inadequate) peace talks in Afghanistan,” tweeted journalist Ben Norton. “So they get best of both worlds: blame the Russian bogeyman, fueling the new cold war, while prolonging the military occupation. It’s not a coincidence these dubious Western intelligence agency claims about Russia came just days after a breakthrough in peace talks. Afghanistan’s geostrategic location (and trillions worth of minerals) is too important to them.”

All parties involved in spreading this malignant psyop are absolutely vile, but a special disdain should be reserved for the media class who have been entrusted by the public with the essential task of creating an informed populace and holding power to account. How much of an unprincipled whore do you have to be to call yourself a journalist and uncritically parrot the completely unsubstantiated assertions of spooks while protecting their anonymity? How much work did these empire fluffers put into killing off every last shred of their dignity? It boggles the mind.
It really is funny how the most influential news outlets in the western world will uncritically parrot whatever they’re told to say by the most powerful and depraved intelligence agencies on the planet, and then turn around and tell you without a hint of self-awareness that Russia and China are bad because they have state media.

Phil Butler heeft een artikel geplaatst New Eastern Outlook (NEO) (wat ik overnam van Information Clearing House) waarin hij de VS analyseert als een duivels imperium dat erop gericht is haar macht te vergroten ten koste van andere landen en hun bevolking, vooral te zien hoe men in de Trump administratie en de geheime diensten van de VS spreekt over Rusland, China, Iran, Venezuela en Noord-Korea.
Butler richt zich met name op Rusland, nadat hij heeft geconstateerd dat er geen sprake is van een echte democratie in de VS, zoals er ‘ook geen’ sprake is van vrijheid of dat de VS burger ver uitsteekt boven de rest van de mensheid, zoals men daar onder een groot deel van het volk gelooft. (overigens veel Nederlanders geloven ook dat zij meer zijn dan de rest van de wereldbevolking)
Hoe is het mogelijk dat de VS de ondergang wenst van Rusland, terwijl er nooit een oorlog is geweest tussen deze landen, een oorlog met grote grafvelden vol met VS militairen en toch roept men victorie als blijkt dat de vruchtbaarheid van de Russen steeds meer te wensen overlaat, zo verzucht Butler……
Butler wijst op de mediaorganen van Rupert Murdoch die Rusland keer op keer demoniseren, wat volgens hem te wijten is aan het feit dat Murdoch en zijn News Corp in 1998 samen met een oligarch Boris Berezovskyde Russische maatschappij wilde manipuleren, waarbij zich ook spuugrijke figuren als Ted Turner voegden, echter aan deze avonturen maakte Putin een eind door oligarchen te vervolgen en hen in feite dwong het land te verlaten. Volgen Butler is dat de reden dat News Corp en andere mediaorganen Rusland demoniseren. Overigens Butler heeft het niet voor niets over News Corp, daar meerdere oligarchen News Corp steunen voor de demonisering van Putin en Rusland.
Heb een paar reacties toegevoegd onder het hieronder opgenomen artikel, waarin men o.a. Butler verwijt ontwaakt te zijn uit een diepe coma en dat hij vergeet de rest van de reguliere media in de VS te noemen, die even hard op de Anti-Russische propagandatrommel roffelen, wat mij betreft heeft dat laatste in deze reactie geen punt, immers Butler noemt dit wel met de volgende zin:

Wel fijn dat Drew Hunkins in deze reactie een fiks aantal mediaorganen noemt, je kan wat dat betreft de reguliere mediaorganen niet genoeg aan de paal nagelen, mediaorganen die ‘iets’ te vaak de woorden fake news (nepnieuws) durven te gebruiken, terwijl dit geïnstitutionaliseerdis bij diezelfde media…… (en ja dat geldt ook voor die media in ons land, van NRC tot Telegraaf en van de ‘onafhankelijke’ NOS tot WNL……)
Vergeet voorts niet dat deze media zonder uitzondering in handen zijn van steenrijke figuren die aandelen hebben in de meest lucratieve bedrijven: waarvan de belangrijkste wel die van de wapenindustrie is (aangevuld met oliemaatschappijen en de farmaceutische industrie, Ap*) Voorts is er een reactie te lezen waarin wordt gesteld dat er wel degelijk een oorlog plaatsvond tussen de VS en Rusland, dit tijdens de revolutie in Rusland, waar de VS en andere westerse landen Rusland hebben aangevallen om de ‘communistische revolutie’ de nek om te draaien, ofwel een in feite illegale oorlog die werd georganiseerd en vooral werd gesteund door de VS……

Democracy, that ideal we were taught as children to worship, it turns out to be only a fancy idea. Like all the other noble, fancy, ideas in history, the illusion of true freedom makes these edges of our existence warm and safe. Even while we live in a deadly, cruel, and unpredictable world. American’s are supposed to be different. Or so we were told. But we are no different from citizens of any ancient empire.
I was reading this morning a story on the Wall Street Journal, which is supposed to be a financial newspaper. The title, especially given the situation in the world now, slapped me hard across the face. The title read:

“What are they wishing for here?” this is what I asked myself. For, you see, this is what editorial is, a mirror into the desired effect. As journalists or analysts were are trained to present cases and Rupert Murdoch’s newspaper trains its cause toward the destruction of the evil billionaire’s enemies. And the Australian born American media mogul hate Vladimir Putin and Russia. He wants the Russian people to die out, and his scribes spend their days writing a bible about how it can happen. Come on, it’s not so difficult to see.
You can’t read the whole story of wonderful infertility in Russia. Because the Wall Street Journal has a paywall. This fact not only ensures that Murdoch gets his twenty pieces of silver, but it also certifies that the audience of bankers, brokers, and politicians who consume WSJ content get what they want. An old testament to a world where Russia is a history chapter in the New World Order’s religion of greed and chaos.
But why? Doesn’t every American wonder how we’ve managed to go nowhere in the more than seven decades since World War 2? Black lives still don’t matter in the US? And neither do, red, yellow, brown, Slavic, Celtic, Christian, or Muslim ones anywhere. And least of all, do Russian children matter – but why? When did Russia attack America? Where are the dead and buried in America’s wars with the USSR or Russia? Are the memorial cemeteries secret? Has the liberal order that’s run things hidden from us the very premise on which we base our almost religious fear and hatred of a people?
No. There are no battalions of dead warriors from the Russo-American war. Because there never was such a war. I wonder why we can’t ask “why” on that one? Oh, I am sorry. It’s because Australian-American billionaires and golf playing American presidents protected us from the evil Putin and the war-hungry Ruskies! Yeah, I forgot.
I want to end this observation today with a couple more questions. First, and foremost, how can we Americans stand idly by and watch the foundations of our country destroyed? How can we fight amongst ourselves over problems that should no longer exist, while the purveyors of every evil we ever fought against, they are thriving in their ivory towers? Second, how did we get to be so mean and nasty? Or, were we always hoping Russians or Iranians or Chinese people would have more hardship? And Murdoch, the man referred to as “the man whose name is synonymous with unethical newspapers,” is but one of the privateers hell-bent on taking his share of Russia if Putin fails.
I won’t delve too deeply into Murdoch’s Russian ventures but ousted oligarch Sergei Pugachev and many others align with the News Corp dictator. The thrives Putin uncovered and banished from Russia are the henchmen who would butcher her people for their gold. Here’s where it started, back in 1998, when News Corp. made the move to influence Russia the way it influences the west. You may recognize another famous name from the UPI story, which begins:
“Media mogul Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation has entered the Russian market, joining with Russian tycoon Boris Berezovsky in a venture holding exclusive rights to sell advertising time on two major Russian television networks, ORT Channel 1 and TV-6.”
Murdoch, Ted Turner, and other media moguls had their sights on expanding their propaganda/advertising businesses into Russia back when. Eventually, Vladimir Putin’s straight game of preserving Russia for Russians ran contrary to their plans, they pulled out, and we see the revenge they take every time we pick up a newspaper or turn on the TV.
In America, and in much of the so-called “west”, a subculture of thought, academia, journalism, and business has taught anti-Russia narrative for generations now.
However, what concerns me is not deep think, Cold War policy still going on behind the scenes in Washington and Moscow. What bothers me is how we Americans allow such unfair and improper relations to go on. Russia was never a real enemy, only a contrived perceptual opponent made so by our imperialist drive for control. The United States, more than any other country in the world, has become rich and powerful at the expense of the world, not alongside the world. This is an incontrovertible truth. But a truth any “Trumpster” would fight to the death to hide. We create so much harm and destroy so much goodwill believing in these lies. We condone things like races of people just “dying out” – and THIS is what those headlines mean.
This is not the country I went into the armed forces to defend. This is not the country may parents, grandparents, and ancestors pledge allegiance to their entire lives. Americans are not supposed to be unfair, cruel, bad sports, and ruthless. We’re just not supposed to be.

Not by a long shot is it only Murdoch’s FOX boys who loath Russia. It’s also PBS News Hour, NPR, CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC, CBS, BBC, NY Times, WaPo, Newsweek, UK’s Daily Mail, UK’s Sun, Time, Vanity Fair, The New Yorker, New Republic, Wall Street Journal, all of commercial radio, most of Big Tech and Silicon Valley and at least a hundred other Western news sources and outlets.

De enorme ploert Zuckerberg had het vorig jaar goed gezien, toen hij stelde dat Facebook in aanloop van de verkiezingen leugens van politici zal tolereren, terwijl hij daarvoor maar niet op kon houden te beloven dat Facebook elke bemoeienis met de verkiezingen op haar platform zou verwijderen. Sterker nog: hij ging zelfs zover om toe te geven dat Facebook door de Russen werd gebruikt om de verkiezingen van 2016 in de VS te manipuleren, dit middels zielige advertenties die wat betreft de financiële waarde totaal in het niet vielen bij de enorme bedragen waarmee bedrijven en de superwelgestelden hun presidentskandidaat ‘pluggen…..’
Alsof een aantal advertenties voor borsjt en wodka de VS burgers zover hebben kunnen krijgen dat ze op Trump stemden, terwijl ze dagelijks een hele berg stront geserveerd kregen waarmee de één dan wal de ander werd besmeurd als totaal onkundig voor het ambt van president…… En zie wat daarvan is gekomen: een psychopathische seksist en moordenaar met ronduit fascistische uitingen als president van het machtigste land op aarde, de VS….
Deze president die vooral regeert via Twitter was de klos toen men zijn Twitterberichten op waarheid ging controleren en concludeerde dat er geen barst van een paar van zijn berichten klopten en daarbij een waarschuwing plaatsten met links naar berichten uit de media…… Trump beweerde dat stemmen per post fruade in de hand werkt, terwijl daar nooit enig bewijs voor werd geleverd….. Nee, Trump heeft geen zin om alsnog zijn achterlijke uitlatingen te verdedigen als wel waarheidsgetrouw (wat hij niet kan, maar hij had minstens een poging kunnen doen…) Trump kiest ‘de strategie’ die bekend staat als: ‘de aanval is de beste verdediging…..’ Als hij wel had geprobeerd zichzelf te verdedigen was hij uiteraard zwaar door de mand gevallen, immers wat krom is kan je niet recht lullen, zelfs Trump niet en dat nog niet met duizend liter ontsmettingsmiddel, al dan niet geïnjecteerd……..
De Republikeinen die al lang stellen dat de sociale media vooral door ‘links’ worden misbruikt om hun partij onderuit te halen, wilden al langer nieuwe regels voor die media…. Weet niet hoe het hier zit, maar in de VS worden platforms als Twitter en Facebook niet gezien als publicisten, maar als een platform waar anderen berichten en andere zaken publiceren. Aan dat laatste wil Trump nu een eind maken, zodat deze platforms zich moeten gedragen als de eerste beste nieuwszender of krant en verantwoordelijk zijn voor wat er wordt gepubliceerd…. Wellicht denk je: wat is daarop tegen? Welnu meer dan genoeg, zo zullen deze platforms worden gedwongen om berichten van hun platform te halen als deze in strijd zijn met de belangen van de Republikeinse Partij*, of als zij schadelijk zijn voor (grote) bedrijven……
Natuurlijk hebben platforms als Twitter niet de kans om berichten dusdanig te brengen dat ze geen bewijs zijn voor een partij als die van de Republikeinen voor het herroepen wat men heeft geschreven, immers Twitter maakt die berichten niet….. Met andere woorden, gebruikers van platforms als Facebook en Twitter kunnen een grote golf censuur verwachten, daar de enige mogelijkheid die overblijft om vervolging te voorkomen zal bestaan uit het eenvoudigweg verwijderen van berichten…….
Het is nu al zo dat Twitter haar gebruikers waarschuwt voor berichten die aangeven waar het aan ontbreekt in de politiek, dan wel berichten waar politici aan de paal worden genageld voor onbeschofte voorstellen en bijvoorbeeld voor het zaaien van haat….. Zag gisteren op Twitter een waarschuwing voor een account van ‘Lieve Linkse’: ‘Caution: This profile may include potentially sensitive content. You’re seeing this warning because they Tweet potentially sensitive images or language. Do you still want to view it?’ Ongelofelijk, zeker als je ziet wat Lieve Linkse @LieveLinkse op Twitter zet, wat mij betreft redelijk gematigde kritiek, maar wel volkomen terechte kritiek!!
Je kan er de klok op gelijkzetten dat men ook in andere westerse landen naar mogelijkheden zal gaan zoeken, om niet welgevallige informatie in het geheel te blokkeren op platforms als Facebook en Twitter, terwijl men regelrechte geschiedvervalsing als een normaal gegeven ziet, als het maar in het voordeel is van de gevestigde neoliberale orde….. Over geschiedvervalsing gesproken: hoe is het mogelijk dat Facebook op verzoek berichten over mensen verwijdert, mensen die of e.e.a op hun kerfstok hebben, dan wel politici of anderen die ‘met pensioen zijn’, te gek voor woorden!! Overigens hebben zowel Twitter als Facebook accounts op hun platform gesloten vanwege het brengen van zogenaamd nepnieuws, ofwel nieuws dat ingaat tegen wat de reguliere (massa-) media brengen…… Dit terwijl juist deze media een enorme berg nepnieuws en zonder meer leugens hebben mogen publiceren op deze platforms, neem de leugens in aanloop van- en tijdens de illegale oorlogen die de VS alleen deze eeuw al is begonnen….

Trump To Sign Social Media Executive Order On Thursday After ‘Fact-Check’, Political Bias Exposed
Update (1830ET): Following up on earlier threats, a White House spokesperson has confirmed that President Trump will sign an executive order on Social Media tomorrow. Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany made the remark to reporters aboard Air Force One, traveling with Trump to Washington from Florida.
There are no details of what the order will contain, however, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) said today that he is working with Republican members of the House Judiciary Committee to craft legislation that would strip social media giants of their Section 230 legal immunity if they fact check content on their platforms, according to a copy of his podcast which Breitbart News exclusively obtained.

A lot of people don’t see that Facebook and Twitter … you see Twitter disadvantaging the president, they enjoy liability protections that are not enjoyed by your local newspaper or your local TV station, or Fox News, or CNN, or MSNBC. They have special benefits under Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act as digital platforms because they’re not creating content for which they should be liable. They’re not making decisions about content, they’re simply saying come one, come all with your content. And as a consequence of that, they’re getting a bunch of protections.
And as Breitbart concludes,noting that the social media companies have become increasingly biased against conservatives, Gaetz questioned whether social media companies deserve to keep their Section 230 immunity.
All of which raises a serious question about the future of these social media giants under a more “media-esque” regulatory framework and points to an obvious line of attack in any executive order that President Trump could be considering.

Republicans feel that Social Media Platforms totally silence conservatives voices. We will strongly regulate, or close them down, before we can ever allow this to happen. We saw what they attempted to do, and failed, in 2016. We can’t let a more sophisticated version of that….

In the past we have seen Project Veritas expose the ‘fact’ behind the so-called ‘conspiracy theory’ of shadow-banning for conservative voices on Twitter.
A former Twitter software engineer who explains how/why Twitter “shadow bans” certain users:
Abhinav Vadrevu: “One strategy is to shadow ban so you have ultimate control. The idea of a shadow ban is that you ban someone but they don’t know they’ve been banned, because they keep posting but no one sees their content.”
“So they just think that no one is engaging with their content, when in reality, no one is seeing it. I don’t know if Twitter does this anymore.”
Meanwhile, Olinda Hassan, a Policy Manager for Twitter’s Trust and Safety team explains on December 15th, 2017 at a Twitter holiday party that the development of a system of “down ranking” “shitty people” is in the works:

And now, as Jonathan Turley details below, the latest controversy concerns the person who has said that he is in charge of “developing and enforcing Twitter’s rules,” Twitter’s “Head of Site Integrity” Yoel Roth. Critics have highlighted fairly extreme postings from Roth calling Trump and his supporters Nazis. I do not agree that the problem is Roth’s personal views or postings. The problem is his role and the rules at Twitter.
Roth has attacked Bernie Sanders supporters and proclaimed how he is working against Trump. He compared senior Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway to Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbels. He has referred to Trump and his team as “ACTUAL NAZIS” and called Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., a “personality-free bag of farts.” As Fox noted, “last August, Twitter suspended McConnell’s Twitter account, prompting the GOP to threaten to cut off advertising on the site until Twitter relented.”
The attacks are numerous, raw, and offensive. However, conservatives calling for him to be fired or his tweets censored are reaching the wrong conclusion.
The problem is not Roth but his role. He has a right to express himself. I have no problem with Twitter hiring people with such political views and I believe it is a good thing for people to express themselves on social media. Indeed, we have discussed the free speech concerns as private and public employers punish workers for their statements or actions in their private lives. We have addressed an array of such incidents, including social media controversies involving academics. In some cases, racially charged comments have been treated as free speech while in others they have resulted in discipline or termination. It is that lack of a consistent standard that has magnified free speech concerns. We have previously discussed the issue of when it is appropriate to punishment people for conduct outside of the work place. We have followed cases where people have been fired after boorish or insulting conduct once their names and employers are made known. (here and here and here and here and here and here).
Roth’s comments highlight how bias is always a concern for those who take it upon themselves to decide who can speak or who must be “corrected” in communications with others. Twitter is notorious for a lack of consistency and coherence in the enforcement of its rules. However, regardless of such enforcement, there remains a core free speech issue in the regulation of speech. I recently criticized the calls of Democratic leaders like House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff for greater censorship of the Internet and social media. Such calls have been growing for years but leaders like Schiff are citing the pandemic as a basis for speech monitoring and censorship. Roth is merely the personification of the problem of such speech regulation. Again, the real problem is his role and Twitter’s rules.
As Summit News’ Paul Joseph Watson notes, Roth has been head of site integrity at Twitter since July 2018 and is responsible for “election security” and “misinformation,”meaning he almost certainly played a key role in the decision to ‘fact-check’ Trump’s tweets. In the meantime, We await Twitter ‘fact-checking’ false claims about ‘Russian collusion’ or any other of the erroneous issues pushed by the blue check mark brigade that have proven to be spectacularly wrong.

De verkiezingen in Suriname hebben er weer voor gezorgd dat Desi Bouterse, de president van Suriname weer fiks wordt gedemoniseerd en dat niet alleen in Nederland…… BBC World Service radio berichtte afgelopen dinsdag over de verkiezingen in Suriname en stelde daarbij dat Bouterse tot 20 jaar gevangenisstraf is veroordeeld. De argeloze luisteraars zullen wel vreemd hebben opgekeken bij deze opmerking, waar niet het hoe en waar werden toegevoegd…. Geen melding op de BBC dat Bouterse werd veroordeeld in Nederland, de voormalige kolonisator van Suriname, Nederland dat op zeker veel meer moorden heeft gepleegd in Suriname dan Bouterse…… In Nederland was het bepaald niet voor het eerst dat politici en media Bouterse demoniseerden vooraf en tijdens de verkiezingen in Suriname, dit vanwege de ‘Decembermoorden’, waarbij 15 mensen werden vermoord, die zich in het verleden negatief over Bouterse hadden uitgelaten….. Venezuela en Iran zijn beiden keihard getroffen door de illegale sancties van de VS, waardoor heel veel bedrijven niet durven te handelen met deze landen, vanwege de door de VS beloofde strafmaatregelen bij overtreding van haar (nogmaals) illegale sancties….. De EU heeft met Iran afgesproken, nadat Trump besloot dat de VS zich terugtrekt uit het nucleaire Iran verdrag (P5+1 nucleaire deal), Iran te zullen helpen tegen de nieuwe illegale sancties die de VS na deze ongefundeerde stap het land oplegde, echter daar is niets van terechtgekomen…… (de EU moet dan uiteindelijk ook een 51ste staat van de politiestaat VS worden en gedraagt zich maar al te vaak en graag als dusdanig….)
Venezuela wordt al helemaal hard getroffen door de VS, dat met haar illegale sancties ervoor zorgt dat deze landen veel meer last krijgen met het Coronavirus dan andere landen, wegens het grote gebrek aan mondmaskers en beschermende kleding, om over de enorme tekorten aan medicijnen en medische hulpmiddelen (als apparatuur) nog maar te zwijgen….. In Venezuela heeft dit al aan bijna 50.000 mensen het leven gekost…….. De VS was zelfs zo brutaal om met de steun van Canada en de EU een bedrag van 4 miljard dollar van de Venezolaanse overheid te blokkeren…… Dit bedrag had Venezuela in de VS uitstaan voor de aankoop van medicijnen en medische hulpmiddelen en dan durft de psychopathische totaal-idioot Trump te zeggen dat medicijnen en medische hulpmiddelen niet onder de sancties vallen, alsof iedereen blind is (‘blind’ als de ‘parlementen’ van de EU en Canada)…….
Niet vreemd dus dat Iran (met dezelfde problemen) en Venezuela elkaar helpen, zo is er nu een ‘konvooi’ van 5 Iraanse olietankers op weg zijn naar Venezuela om daar brandstof af te leveren….. Vannacht werd op BBC World Service radio gemeld* dat de eerste Iraanse olietanker onder begeleiding van de Venezolaanse marine de territoriale wateren van Venezuela heeft bereikt, ondanks een dreigement van de Trump administratie dat het actie zal ondernemen om te voorkomen dat deze tankers Venezuela bereiken.
De Trump administratie had al marinefregatten buiten de territoriale wateren van Venezuela en dreigde eerder dat het zal ingrijpen (kelderen?) als de Iraanse olietankers zullen proberen Venezuela te bereiken……. Alleen deze uitlating zou zeker voor de rest van de westerse wereld genoeg moeten zijn geweest om de VS ambassadeurs op het matje te roepen en hen duidelijk te maken dat de VS moet stoppen met haar ongebreidelde terreur tegen deze 2 landen, al helemaal tijdens de Coronacrisis…. Echter reken maar dat ook nu Canada (met grote mijnbouw belangen in Venezuela) en de EU-lidstaten achter de VS acties tegen deze Iraanse schepen zullen staan, althans mochten de overgebleven 4 tankers worden aangevallen, immers men heeft tot nu toe alle VS leugens als zoete koek geslikt, hoeveel doden daardoor ook zijn te betreuren…….
Gelukkig heeft de VS nog geen actie ondernomen en laten we hopen dat dit niet alsnog zal gebeuren met de overgebleven 4 andere olietankers…..
Tot slot nog dit: de VS vaart o.a. in de territoriale wateren van de Antillen en dus deels in Nederlandse wateren voor de kust van Venezuela, daarmee is Nederland direct betrokken bij de VS terreur tegen het Venezolaanse volk!!! Iranian trading ships are en route to Venezuela, but the Trump administration threatened to take “measures” against them and has several warships in the Caribbean. If the US Navy intercepts the ships, it would be a blatant act of piracy and could start wars with two countries! Tell Defense Secretary Mark Esper that the U.S. has no business interfering in peaceful trade between Iran and Venezuela!
The Trump administration is saber rattling, again. Five Iranian trade ships are on their way to Venezuela as the two countries are engaging in trade in order to overcome the brutal sanctions imposed by the U.S. Unfortunately, senior administration officials have called this trade “unwelcome” and threatened to take “measures” in response, an ominous warning given that the US Navy is already deployed in the Caribbean and has threatened to shoot down Iranian ships in the seas outside their own country.
Both Iran and Venezuela are subject to what Trump calls “maximum pressure.” Now the Trump administration could start a war or deadly military actions against both countries if it intercepts the trade ships.
The U.S. has no business interfering in peaceful trade between two countries.
It’s no secret why Venezuela and Iran are trading: the U.S. sanctions. The people, economies and health sectors of both countries have been devastated by sanctions, and the U.S. is targeting businesses that trade with either. That leaves them little choice but to trade with each other. Iran is sending oil refinery technicians and gasoline to Venezuela in exchange for gold. Iran faces a cash deficit and Venezuela has a fuel shortage (after the Trump administration abruptly cut it off from purchasing chemicals needed to make gas last month), so it’s trade that makes sense for both, particularly in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic.
There’s nothing alarming or nefarious about a gasoline for gold trade, but the Trump administration is doing everything it can to criminalize something countries do on a daily basis. Venezuela noted that any action against the ships would be a violation of international law, while Iran warned of a “quick and decisive response” should the ships be confronted — a potentially catastrophic situation.
Iran and Venezuela have a lot in common: they’re both nations that have opposed U.S. hegemony and have faced U.S. regime change efforts for decades. At CODEPINK we stand in solidarity with the Iranian and Venezuelan peoples as they confront sanctions and threats of war. The U.S. government should fight Covid-19, not Iran or Venezuela!

Schunnig ook dat Canada en ‘onze EU’ deze vorm van terreur steunen, terreur die zonder meer als misdaad tegen de menselijkheid moeten worden aangemerkt….. (te vergelijken met het uithongeren van belegerde steden in de middeleeuwen…..) Eén en ander geeft nog eens aan dat we van de EU alleen maar ellende kunnen verwachten, waar de EU steeds vaker de hielen likt van de VS en vooral de belangen behartigt van de grote bedrijven en de financiele sector……
Afgelopen week werd bekendgemaakt dat er een aantal figuren, waaronder VS huurlingen, ‘een terreurcomplot hebben gesmeed’ om Maduro te ontvoeren (onder welwillend toezicht, advies en bevel van de CIA)……. Ontvoering? De VS heeft 15 miljoen dollar* op zijn hoofd gezet, voor gevangenneming wel te verstaan…… (althans zo werd openlijk bekend gemaakt, dood is hij wellicht nog altijd 6 miljoen dollar ‘waard….’)
Het bedoelde complot werd op tijd ontdekt en degenen die deel zouden nemen aan deze terreurdaad werden gearresteerd, waaronder 2 ex-VS militairen…… (ofwel CIA personeel) Dit nieuws heeft amper de koppen van de reguliere westerse media gehaald, anders dan het vermelden dat er figuren zijn opgepakt die een ‘coup’ tegen Maduro zouden hebben voorbereid, uiteraard zonder verder op deze zaak in te gaan (althans als men e.e.a. al bracht als nieuws)…..
Schunnig dat de VS tijdens de Coronacrisis die ook in Venezuela huishoudt, zich bezig houdt met het wegwerken van de democratisch gekozen president van dat land….. Terwijl de illegale sancties die Trump instelde tegen Venezuela (gesteund door de EU en Canada) aan al aan bijna 50.000 Venezolanen (mensen) het leven hebben gekost, niet in de laatste plaats door een enorm tekort aan medische middelen…… (en ja daarvoor zijn wij als burgers van de ondemocratische EU mede verantwoordelijk voor, immers wij als ‘EU burgers’ betalen het ‘EU parlement….’) De Trump administratie liegt keihard dat de sancties geen gevolg hebben voor de medische sector in Venezuela, terwijl de VS beslag heeft gelegd op 4 miljard dollar aan Venezolaanse tegoeden in de VS, die juist bedoeld waren voor de aankoop van medicijnen en medische apparatuur en andere zaken die daar mee te maken hebben zoals mondkapjes en (medische) handschoenen, die nu zo nodig zijn……
Intussen heeft de VS oorlogsschepen voor de territoriale wateren van Venezuela gestationeerd, ofwel de kans dat de VS militair in zal grijpen wordt met de dag groter, zeker nu de wereld is afgeleid door het Coronavirus…… Bovendien zou dit Trump goed uitkomen, daar hij behoorlijk is gezakt in de peilingen door zijn voortdurende geblunder op de uitbraak van het Coronavirus…….. Even terug naar dat afgeleid zijn door het virus: alsof bijvoorbeeld de westerse wereld ook maar een begin van een protest zal laten horen tegen VS agressie elders, of beter gezegd tegen de grootschalige terreur die deze terreurentiteit zovelen in de ellende en dood heeft gestort, alleen deze eeuw al fors meer dan 2,5 miljoen vermoorde mensen (vooral in Afghanistan, Irak, Libië en Syrië….)……. Oh ja wat dom van mij: die ‘westerse wereld’ bestaat uiteraard bijna alleen uit NAVO partners van de VS, die voor een fiks deel maar al te graag meedoen aan de VS agressie, en dat ook hebben gedaan, zoals ons land….. (maar niet uit onze naam en zeker niet die van mij, ook al ‘mag’ ik meebetalen aan deze terreur…..)
Gelukkig raakt de marionet van de VS, die men in Venezuela voor januari vorig jaar amper kende, Guaidó buiten de VS in vergetelheid, deze fascistische fapdrol wordt belachelijk genoeg door het westen aangeduid als president van Venezuela, terwijl hij door de VS in een virtuele zetel is geplaatst en Maduro de echte president van Venezeula, door een meerderheid van de Venezolanen werd gekozen tot president in door internationale waarnemers als eerlijk beoordeelde democratische verkiezingen…..
Iets dat door de NOS correspondent Marc Bessems, die vooral de tegenstanders van Maduro citeerde met klachten over onrechtmatigheden tijdens deze verkiezingen, alsof zij fungeerden als de internationale waarnemers….. Het feit dat de oppositie voor een groot deel de verkiezingen hebben geboycot was voor Bessems het teken dat deze verkiezingen niet eerlijk waren, terwijl deze oppositie van te voren wist dat ze nooit een meerderheid kan halen, eenvoudigweg te weinig aanhang en daarmee een groot tekort aan stemmen…….
Nog een bericht dat afgelopen vrijdagnacht (8 mei) werd gebracht op de ARD: Trump weigert een resolutie van de VN te tekenen, waarin men een wereldwijd staakt het vuren wil bewerkstelligen, juist vanwege de Coronacrisis….. Hoeveel bewijs heb je nog nodig om te stellen dat de VS de grootste terreurentiteit op aarde is??!!!

Was Trump involved in the Venezuale terror plot?

Trump’s unfolding war on Venezuela escalated this week with the capture of 2 American mercenaries who took part in a failed terror plot. We need to stop this war before it gets worse and the first step is getting Congress to ask hard questions.
A group of mercenaries and deserters, including two U.S. citizens, attempted to carry out a terror plot in Venezuela last weekend. Despite the fact that the Trump administration has its fingers all over this, almost nobody in Congress has said anything.
We need to pressure our politicians to find out the extent to which Juan Guaidó and the Trump administration were involved. Guaidó has the full political, financial and logistical support of the U.S. government.
Here’s what we know for sure: Guaidó signed a contract with a mercenary leader; some of the Venezuelans captured have direct ties to Guaidó; the captured U.S. mercenaries said they planned to kidnap President Maduro and fly him out of the country; the U.S. has a $15 million bounty on President Maduro; the U.S. recently deployed the Navy fleet off
Venezuelan shores; and the mercenaries have had contact with people very close to Trump.
It’s hard to forget the standing ovation that both Republicans and Democrats gave Guaidó during Trump’s 2020 State of the Union, so we probably shouldn’t expect too much from Congress. However, that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t express how alarming this episode is. A few Senators—Murphy, Udall and Kaine—have already sent a letter to Secretary of State Pompeo demanding answers, but we need more.
The Trump administration wasn’t kidding when they announced their new strategy of “maximum pressure” back in March. Since then, the U.S. has applied even more devastating sanctions, it indicted President Maduro and others on fake drug charges, it deployed the Navy and now this. That’s why CODEPINK has been pushing so hard for dialogue between Venezuela and the U.S.–it’s the first step to peace!

De Trump administratie stapelt de ene blunder op de andere, de laatste is de verklaring van Trump dat het land weer opengaat, terwijl het aantal besmettingen en sterfgevallen bleef stijgen….* Trump heeft de Coronacrisis in eerste instantie gebagatelliseerd, met de uitlating dat het Coronavirus niets anders is dan een gewone verkoudheid…. Toen bleek dat dit virus ‘wat meer was’ dan een verkoudheid, werd de schuld voor het disfunctioneren op dit dossier door de Trump administratie in eerste instantie aan China toegeschreven, maar bij uitblijven van vertrouwen bij het volk, wijt men nu haar falen aan machinaties van Rusland…..
‘Machinaties’ als een grote zending van Russische hulpgoederen aan de VS vanwege het Coronavirus, waarmee Rusland de presidentsverkiezingen in de VS zou manipuleren….. (en nee geen dankjewel aan het Russische volk….) Dit terwijl Trump de fooi van $ 1,200.– die hij aan een groot deel van de VS bevolking geeft middels een cheque, deze laat voorzien van zijn handtekening, hoe meer openlijk en belachelijk kan je verkiezingen later dit jaar manipuleren??? Dit is niets anders dan stemmen kopen, terwijl velen die cheque niet eens kunnen innen daar ze tot de neus in de schulden staan……
Beste bezoeker dat was het nog niet, nee de VS beschuldigt Rusland ervan met haar hulp te zien hoe kwetsbaar de VS is, om dit te kunnen gebruiken in een oorlog tegen de VS….. ha! ha! ha! ha! Alsof Putin erop zit te wachten de VS aan te vallen!! Als de Trump administratie in Moskou zou zitten i.p.v. Washington, hadden we al lang in Wereldoorlog 3 gezeten, het is te danken aan het verantwoorde optreden van Putin en zijn regering dat dit niet het geval is!!
Overigens vormen deze VS leugens de zoveelste manipulatie van de VS presidentsverkiezingen, waar nog de volgende leugen van Trump aan toegevoegd kan worden: “We’re doing tremendous testing”, terwijl er een enorm tekort is aan testen in de VS!!
Met het beschuldigen van landen als China en Rusland wordt er tevens haat gezaaid tegen burgers van die landen en zoals dat in veel landen gaat en zeker in de VS, kan je erop wachten dat deze burgers, ook al zijn ze in de VS geboren, zullen worden aangevallen door idioten die zich laten ophitsen door dit soort haatzaaien….. Zoals hindoes in India moslims de schuld hebben gegeven voor het verspreiden van het Coronavirus, waardoor moslims worden aangevallen (en die mensen hebben het, om het zachtjes uit te drukken, al niet makkelijk in India….)…….

The Russians Get Blamed Again, but Who Is Really Subverting American Democracy?

April 16, 2020 “Information Clearing House” –It is perhaps inevitable that a major health panic like the coronavirus will have political ramifications based on whether those most affected by the illness will perceive that the government performed well or poorly in the crisis. The government for its part will engage in a blame game which seeks to place responsibility for what did not go well on an outside party. It should surprise no one to learn, for example, that Hindus in India have been blaming a Muslim group for the proliferation of the virus in their country, an accusation that has led to rioting and other violence directed against Muslims in general and which has produced some deaths.
In the United States blame for the health crisis has been more diversified and has been largely construed along existing political fault lines. Democrats are reasonably enough blaming President Donald Trump for the delays and failures to supply medical equipment while Republicans are seeking to exonerate the poor performance by the president, chiefly by editing the existing record to expunge Trump’s initial dismissal of the virus as little more than a common cold and even as a “hoax.” That refusal to recognize the severity of the epidemic cost the country several weeks at a minimum, time that might have been employed to get on top of the disease before it had a chance to gain a foothold.
More interesting perhaps is the apparent desire to find a foreign enemy as the source of the virus. That the virus originated in Wuhan is the majority view of the “experts,” though it is not clear if its genetics were the result of laboratory manipulation or were a naturally occurring mutation. And for its part, the Chinese government at a minimum was not particularly forthcoming when the virus began to spread in Wuhan and the surrounding province, failing to send an appropriate signal to the international community that a potentially highly contagious and lethal new virus had made an appearance.
In the U.S., Republican politicians and pundits, as well as the president, have exploited the uncertainty by persisting in calling the coronavirus the “Wuhan virus” or the “China virus.” There has also been considerable chatter about how Beijing is “to blame” for it, which, of course, intentionally shifts the narrative away from the actions or lack thereof by the American president. And so as not to ignore the real conspiracy theorists, there are also the stories now circulating about how the U.S. government helped fund research at the Wuhan Institute that involved bats, one of the possible sources of the virus. Additional theories being promoted by Rush Limbaugh and others promote the belief that the Chinese communists deliberately created and unleashed the virus to destroy western capitalism.**
It was perhaps inevitable that somehow Russia would eventually be brought into the preferred narrative to serve as a distraction that would derail the media’s 24/7 focus on the White House and its developing response to the virus. The Russian government’s shipment of a planeload of badly needed medical supplies to the United States several weeks ago notwithstanding, Moscow and President Vladimir Putin continue to be useful punching bags for both the national media and both parties in congress.
The latest tale from Yahoo news of Kremlin perfidy is also somewhat of a spy story, no doubt intended to enhance its appeal. It has not really caught on with the public yet because the panic over the virus has overwhelmed the news cycle, but there is still plenty of time to seek and find a foreign enemy who is wanting to do harm to the United States of America.
According to the news report, which is based on a paper prepared by analysts at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Russian intelligence officers are analyzing the U.S. response to the coronavirus pandemic to determine vulnerabilities in the American government’s procurement and emergency response system. The April 6th study, prepared by the DHS Counterintelligence Mission Center, states that the Russians are “likely are watching the U.S. response to the COVID-19 pandemic” as “intelligence collection on medical supply chain vulnerabilities could inform future operations aimed at weakening key logistical elements in preparation for a wartime attack, or opportunistically during an emergency.”
In other words, Moscow is looking for vulnerabilities in what amounts to America’s civil defense response capability in case it has to go to war with Washington. Given the lack of evidence confirming any desire on Vladimir Putin’s part to engage in a nuclear conflict with the United States that would likely destroy most of the planet, it is difficult to imagine that Russia is war planning in any serious way. But, according to some sources, a different picture does plausibly emerge from the Kremlin’s activity, which is that Russia is working to portray itself as a competent player in the war against the coronavirus while Donald Trump and his European counterparts are being seen as irresponsible fumblers.
Moscow has indeed been extending a hand to Europeans even as the Germans have been complaining about the White House conniving to steal their medical supplies. Several plane loads of medical equipment and more than 100 personnel flew to Italy a month ago. According to Italian sources, some of the Russians were intelligence officers making independent assessments of how effectively the Italians have been able to respond to the medical crisis.
All of that should surprise no one, as that is what intelligence officers do, though it does not necessarily mean that anyone is necessarily preparing for war. And the DHS report speculates wildly when it suggests that the coronavirus operation is part and parcel of “Russia’s ongoing 2020 election interference,” a largely undemonstrated hot button designed to make the hawks in congress swoon with pleasure.
If anyone is looking for Russiagate 2, this is exactly how it begins. Blame China, and if that does not seem to be working, look for the perfidious hand of Vladimir Putin, who clearly spends all day in his office dreaming up schemes whereby providing medical supplies to the U.S. and Europe is all part of some master plan to subvert the 2020 presidential election. But wait a minute, the ballot will feature Trump against Joe Biden. Putin is too late. The election has already been subverted.

Heb normaal gesproken weinig zin om berichten van een politicus te plaatsen, zeker als e.e.a. kritiek is op Trump, de zittende president, echter in dit geval maak ik een uitzondering vanwege de inhoud.
Trump heeft intussen al zoveel over het Coronavirus gezegd en ‘getwitterd’, dat het zaak is deze meer dan achterlijke uitlatingen van deze psychopathische massamoordenaar niet te vergeten, zeker nu meer dan duidelijk is dat hij de Coronacrisis tot één van de onderwerpen van zijn herverkiezingscampagne gebruikt…… De megalomane rotzak heeft bedacht om de arme burgers in de VS $ 1,200.– te geven en heeft de cheque die deze mensen ontvangen laten voorzien van zijn handtekening….. En dan durft men in de VS nog steeds naar Rusland te wijzen als land dat de verkiezingen in de VS manipuleert….. (terwijl het juist de VS is dat al meer dan 100 jaar verkiezingen elders beïnvloed voor haar belangen in zo’n buitenland…..)
Aanvankelijk bagatelliseerde Trump de toestand rond het Coronavirus, het zou een griepje zijn waar de VS amper last van zou ondervinden, hij stelde zelfs dat rond half maart de ellende van het Coronavirus al voorbij zou zijn…… Toen de zaak toch ‘iets anders’ in elkaar bleek te zitten, gaf hij de schuld voor de virus uitbraak aan China, waarbij hij dit land ronduit demoniseerde en hij daarmee haat zaaide tegen VS burgers met Oost-Aziatische wortels….. Nu durft hij het imbeciele deel van zijn achterban wijs te maken dat wanneer zijn muur tussen de VS en Mexico al was gebouwd, het virus de VS niet binnen zou zijn gekomen….. Totaal belachelijk natuurlijk en ook daarmee zaait hij haat, maar nu tegen VS burgers die wortels hebben in Latijns-Amerika…….
Een paar dagen geleden nog liet Trump weten dat de VS binnenkort weer open kan, ofwel: ‘het moet afgelopen zijn met de sluiting van zaken en industrieën’, terwijl het aantal (ook dodelijke) slachtoffers in de VS blijft stijgen……
Voorts heeft Trump meermaals een tirade gehouden tegen het stemmen per post, belangrijk voor staten waar hij niet populair is en hij met zijn handelen mensen de keus geeft het virus op te lopen door te stemmen, of thuis te blijven en niet te gaan stemmen…..

Dagelijks ‘trakteert’ Trump het volk op een briefing over de stand van zaken rond de Coronacrisis en ook deze briefings misbruikt hij voor zijn verkiezingscampagne…… Hoe bedoelt u, manipulatie van de verkiezingen??

Trump has made 356 false claims related to the coronavirus
During another week in which Americans across the country struggled for their lives and livelihoods, Donald Trump frittered away valuable time by obsessing over his image and the pandemic’s effect on his reelection prospects. When the country is most in need of a unifier-in-chief, Trump continues to sow discord and mine conflict whenever and wherever he deems it to be in his favor.
The Trump White House and its Republican allies seem determined to undermine subject matter experts at every turn, creating an intellectual vacuum that Trump attempts to fill with his political agenda rather than data and facts. The stories we’ve collected this week illustrate all this and create a stark picture of a president who is incapable of reining in his own temperament in order to do what’s best for this country and its people.
One of Trump’s newest attempts to distract from his poor leadership during the novel coronavirus epidemic is to threaten, in his words, to exercise his “constitutional authority to adjourn both chambers of Congress” in order to push through judicial and executive branch appointments without Congressional approval. In addition to being a flagrant attempt to pack vital positions with Trumpist allies during a nationwide health emergency, this newest announcement is a fundamental challenge to the separation of powers – and is supported neither by the Constitution nor by legal precedent.
This is far from the first time during this public health crisis that Trump has taken advantage of the nation’s turmoil to further special interests that he considers either important to his allies or to his campaign. Back in March, Trump tried to argue at a rally that the border wall with Mexico could have prevented the coronavirus, a claim for which there is no scientific evidence. This week, Trump took steps to weaken a rule forcing coal-fueled power plants to curtail their mercury emissions. The rule is a vital environmental protection that energy companies have been complaining about for years – and Trump is using this moment to make good on a pledge to these energy companies when he assumes few others are looking. Additionally, Trump has rejected an increase in air quality regulation standards, despite the mounting evidence that high levels of air pollution puts people at a higher risk for coronavirus.
One focus of Trump’s complaints this month has been the World Health Organization, and this week he made good on last week’s threat to revoke W.H.O.’s funding. Although he praised W.H.O. in February, the organization of health experts has become one of Trump’s favorite scapegoats as he has sought to diffuse blame for his bad leadership during the epidemic.
Trump’s normally reliable allies in the business community have begun to push back against his recent actions, particularly his moves towards prematurely opening the economy. On a call designed to curry favor with and establish his alliance with business leaders, Trump received significant skepticism and pushback for his overly aggressive timeline, making it seem unlikely that they will back him should he go forward with removing federal social distancing guidelines by May 1.
In an especially self-serving move that wasted valuable time in getting relief to millions, Trump made a deal with Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin to have his name printed on the coronavirus stimulus checks being sent to Americans, despite the fact that the president can’t be an official signer on Treasury Department checks. The Internal Revenue Service team in charge of dispensing the checks has had to race to print Trump’s name on the memo line, so Trump can use relief allocated by Congress as a campaign tool.
To conclude this week’s list, we’re going to leave you with the fact that since the first confirmed case of COVID-19 in the United States on January 20 through April 3, Trump has made 356 false claims related to the coronavirus. And in the two weeks since that date, which was also the date of this series’ first post, that number has only continued to grow. The limited actions Trump has actually taken to address the coronavirus crisis have been too few, too late; a new report suggests that had the U.S. acted to increase testing capacity nationwide two weeks earlier than he did, COVID-19 deaths could have been reduced tenfold.
