Het Pentagon heeft eindelijk toegegeven dat de VS niet in Syrië is om IS te bestrijden, maar om het land te verdelen in stukken, waarbij de terreurgroepen die de VS steunt, zoals Al Qaida Syrië, ofwel al-Nusra*, een hoofdrol zullen spelen in door de VS aangewezen autonome gebieden (bekonkeld met Israël, Saoedi-Arabië en Groot-Brittannië…)…….
Keer op keer, ook onder Obama, beweerde de VS alleen in Syrië te zijn voor de bestrijding van IS, maar nu de VS stelt dat IS is overwonnen, zegt het Pentagon niet van zins te zijn een eind te maken aan haar illegale verblijf in Syrië, integendeel: het Pentagon stelt dat de VS (illegaal) aanwezig zal blijven in Syrië……
Daarmee geeft de VS in feite aan dat het wat hen betreft voorgoed is afgelopen met het vreedzaam samenwonen van diverse religies naast elkaar, zoals dit het geval was, voordat de VS in 2011 een opstand kocht in Syrië (waarvoor de eerste plannen al werden gemaakt in 2006), een opstand die moest uitmonden in een staatsgreep tegen het bewind van Assad………
Met deze belofte van de VS, zal bovendien de vrede niet terugkeren in het gebied dat we nu nog Syrië noemen……
Overigens is het meer dan duidelijk dat de VS meermaals IS heeft gesteund, niet alleen in Libië en Irak**, maar ook in Syrië…… Terwijl het Pentagon en de VS minister van Defensie, uh Oorlog, James ‘mad dog’ Mattis, als excuus voor de blijvende illegale aanwezigheid van VS militairen op Syrisch grondgebied aanvoeren, dat het een opnieuw opstaan van IS wil voorkomen……. ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha!
Syrië moet en zal uiteenvallen, zodat de VS, Israël en Saoedi-Arabië uiteindelijk het sjiitische Iran aan kunnen vallen……. Vanmorgen meldde BBC World Service radio nog, dat Israël en Saoedi-Arabië, de grootste terreurstaten in het Midden-Oosten gezamenlijk Iran hebben aangewezen als verspreider van terreur en instabiliteit in het Midden-Oosten……. ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Knettergek en nog zotter dat men dergelijke berichten zonder enige kritiek durft te brengen!!
ISIS Officially ‘Defeated’ but the US Will Stay in Syria
Russia questions what the US goal in Syria has become.
(ANTIWAR.COM) — US military intentions in Syria have never been exactly transparent, but are becoming ever less so, as Pentagon officials loudly declare ISIS to have been “defeated” in the country, but insist that they intend to remain.
This is a potential major legal issue, because Syria never authorized the US invasion in the first place. US officials always presented the authorization as being UN resolutions supporting the fight against ISIS, but that would no longer apply.
Moreover, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has pointed out that Secretary of State Tillerson has repeatedly assured him that the “only” US goal in Syria is to fight ISIS. This is adding to Russian concerns about what the US is actually planning on doing next.
Secretary of Defense James Mattis is trying to present this as keeping “ISIS 2.0” from coming into existence. While this is also the pretext for staying in Iraq, there is a major difference between a permanent deployment in Iraq that the US-backed government there supports, and trying to stay in Syria forever despite explicit opposition from the Syrian government.

Airwars berekende dat er in totaal sinds 2014 maar liefst 5.600 burgers zijn vermoord door VS/Britse bombardementen en raketaanvallen op Syrië en Irak. De Britten alleen deden al 1.600 luchtaanvallen uit…… Dat aantal slachtoffers lijkt me overigens een te laag aantal, gezien feiten als het bulldozeren van grote delen van West-Mosul, na de ‘bevrijding’ van terreurgroep IS, waar men de vermoorde burgerslachtoffers niet eerst onder het puin vandaan haalde……….
De VS weigerde zelfs te stoppen met bombarderen, zoals de VS deed bij de bevrijding van Raqqa….. Een vreselijke oorlogsmisdaad daar men wist dat er tienduizenden mensen opgesloten zaten……………

Britain Drops More Than 3,400 Bombs in Syria and Iraq, Claims No Civilians Died
(MEE) — Royal Air Force drones and jets have dropped more than 3,400 bombs and missiles on Islamic State fighters in Iraq and Syria, an investigation by Middle East Eye has revealed, yet the British government maintains that there is “no evidence” they have killed a single civilian.
The vast quantities of ordnance dropped since the start of Operation Shader against IS in 2014 seriously undermines the claim by ministers that the RAF has not caused any civilian casualties in the three-year-long bombing campaign, and has prompted calls for an investigation.
The Ministry of Defence (MoD) does not routinely release statistics on the numbers of weapons used over Iraq and Syria, but an MEE analysis has combined weekly updates of operations in the region and information collated by campaign group Drone Wars.

It shows that up to the end of September UK forces have dropped at least 3,482 bombs and missiles in the battle against IS, including 2,089 Paveway IV bombs and 486 Brimstone missiles dropped by Typhoon and Tornado jets.
RAF Reaper drones have also fired 724 Hellfire missiles at IS targets.
The figures are conservative as MoD updates sometimes do not specify the number of bombs or missiles used in a strike, and last night MoD officials admitted that a further 86 bombs and missiles had been dropped in recent weeks.
The weapon of choice for RAF jets is the Paveway IV precision-guided bomb, but they have also fired large numbers of the more accurate Brimstone missile, which was originally designed as an anti-tank weapon but has been used extensively by the RAF to target IS snipers and vehicles.
The government describes the Brimstone as the most accurate weapon available that can be fired by aircraft, and they are conservatively estimated to cost £100,000 each; heavier Paveway IV bombs are estimated to cost £30,000 each, and Hellfire, fired by the Reaper drone fleet, cost £71,300 each.
Islamic State is in retreat in Iraq and Syria after a US-led bombing campaign which saw the RAF fly more than 8,000 sorties and killed more than 3,000 IS militants. A spike in weapons releases came earlier this summer, when RAF Typhoons and Tornadoes joined the coalition and Kurdish effort to liberate Mosul.
Islamic State regularly used “human shields” in built-up areas, but despite this and the scale of the ordnance dropped by the RAF, the MoD maintains it has “no evidence” that its strikes have caused any civilian casualties – a position now roundly rejected by defence analysts and opposition parties.
“Our armed forces are among the best in the world, so they will be among the most discerning and accurate when it comes to targeting,” Liberal Democrat leader Vince Cable, told MEE.
“However, it is, at the very best, implausible that our heavy involvement could not have caused civilian deaths. We must not knock our armed services, but, equally, the government has to be honest in its assessment of damage caused in conflict.”
The US Air Force, which leads the anti-Islamic State coalition, says it has caused 786 civilians deaths in the three-year-long air war, but despite saying the air war is the “most challenging fight in decades”, the RAF has made so such assessment.
Earlier this month the minister of state for the British armed forces, Mark Lancaster, told parliament that the government “had been able to discount RAF involvement in any civilian casualties”.
The RAF says it takes all steps to minimise civilian casualties, but it has conducted more than 1,600 strikes in Iraq and Syria – more than any other coalition country bar the US.
Reacting to the figures, military aviation experts and campaigners have said that it is no longer credible for the MoD to maintain that has not killed any civilians as part of the three-year-long operation to defeat Islamic State.
Samuel Oakford, a spokesperson for Airwars, a group which monitors civilian casualties from international air strikes in the region, told MEE: “The UK’s claim that no British air strikes in Iraq or Syria have led to civilian deaths has always been difficult to believe.
“Based on the coalition’s own civilian casualty reporting, it is extremely unlikely that a coalition member as active as the UK would have not had a hand in a single civilian death.
“As the campaign continues into its fourth year and more data about British involvement such as this is compiled, the MoD’s claim is becoming increasingly absurd.”
Over the course of the last 12 months the focus of the air battle against IS, which the MoD calls Daesh, has shifted from the Iraqi city of Mosul, which fell in July, to Raqqa in Syria.
But MEE analysis shows that the overwhelming majority of RAF weapons released took place against IS fighters in Iraq with 3,000 strikes, while a total of 482 bombs and missiles were dropped over Syria, prompting fears of blowback in the UK.
“Turning a blind eye to the consequences of air strikes and pretending they are somehow now ‘risk free’ is naive in the extreme,” said Chris Cole, director of campaign Drone Wars UK.
“Unless we begin to understand and acknowledge the true cost of our ongoing wars in the Middle East, we are likely to pay a high price in the future.”
Zero casualties
Airwars, which works with the RAF and US Air Force to report suspected civilian casualties, says that at least 5,600 civilians have been killed by coalition strikes.
In July there were reports that Iraqi soldiers used bulldozers to hide the bodies of hundreds of civilians killed in the final days of the battle for Mosul.
MEE’s analysis shows that during the fight for the Iraqi city, RAF Typhoons and Tornadoes dropped dozens of Paveway IV bombs on IS fighters in the city.
However, the MoD does not have troops on the ground in the region carrying out battle damage assessment of sites struck by RAF munitions.
Instead it carries out the assessments from video evidence captured from the air, a technique that has been dismissed as ineffective by other coalition allies.
The RAF says it takes “all possible precautions to avoid civilian casualties”, but Amnesty International has previously expressed serious concerns about the air war’s toll on civilians. In a report earlier this year, it found the battle for West Mosul had caused a “civilian catastrophe”.
Civilians were being ruthlessly exploited by IS, which had moved them into conflict zones, used them as human shields, and prevented escape. They were also being subjected to “relentless and unlawful attacks” by Iraqi forces and the US-led coalition.
A source in the RAF told Middle East Eye: “Given the ruthless and inhuman behaviour of our adversary, including the deliberate use of human shields, we must accept that the risk of inadvertent civilian casualties is ever present, particularly in the complex and congested urban environment within which we operate.”
The source added that all missions were “meticulously planned” and there was no suggestion that UK forces have committed war crimes.
However, there are fears that by failing to fully address the issue of civilian casualties, the MoD is not presenting the full picture of Britain’s campaign against Islamic State.
Iain Overton, the executive director of Action on Armed Violence, said: “If the RAF can claim zero civilian casualties, then the argument for more air strikes stands.
“They can justify such by pointing at the issue of proportionality and IHL [international humanitarian law], they can claim that their kills are ‘clean’. Perhaps they are, but they don’t present the evidence to prove they are – not meaningfully.”
The MoD said in a statement on Wednesday: “Only by defeating Daesh for good will we reduce the threat to us here at home. British forces have crippled Daesh since 2014 and the RAF will continue to strike the terrorists hard where they plan their campaign of hate in both Syria and Iraq.
“We have no evidence that RAF strikes have caused civilian casualties.
“We recognise the challenge faced by coalition pilots in close urban fighting against a ruthless terrorist enemy that uses civilians as human shields, but are clear that to do nothing would leave cities in the hands of Daesh brutality.
“We do everything we can to minimise the risk through the rigorous targeting processes and the professionalism of our RAF crews.”
DE NAVO is van 16 t/m 27 oktober bezig met een grootscheepse oefening in een aanval met nucleaire wapens tegen Rusland…….. Deze oefening heet ‘Steadfast Noon’ (ha! ha! ha!) en schijnt volgens ‘deskundigen’ eigenlijk elk jaar te worden gehouden……. Nooit van gehoord, dergelijke agressieve oefeningen, waarin het westen zich voorbereid op de vernietiging van de aarde zoals wij die kennen…….
Men zou dit jaar weinig aandacht aan deze oefening hebben willen geven, vanwege de te verwachten tegenstand van de bevolking aldus de Wall Street Journal……. De bevolking in de VS mag blij zijn, dat ze er nog iets over horen, hier kwam ik het toevallig op een buitenlandse site tegen en als ik me niet vergis op het blog van Stan van Houcke…… Ach ja, dergelijk nieuws past niet in de belachelijke pogingen om zoveel mogelijk positief nieuws te brengen, tja dan moet je mensen niet ongerust maken over dergelijke schandalige provocaties van de VS en haar oorlogshond NAVO aan het adres van Rusland……. (overigens doen ook Nederlandse F16’s mee aan deze waanzinnige oefening…..) En dan maar zeuren over het veel te kleine budget voor het zwaar geld verspillende ministerie van defensie, uh ik bedoel van nucleaire oorlog……
Trouwens die F16’s vielen toch met bossen uit de lucht? Daarvoor moesten we toch de peperdure JSF aanschaffen? De JSF een straalvliegtuig dat de aanduiding ‘straaljager’ niet mag dragen, vanwege de vele tekortkomingen t.o.v. echte moderne straaljagers, het onding kan zich nog net met de A-10 Thunderbolt straaljager uit de 70er jaren meten……. Dit tegen een prijs van meer dan 4,5 miljard euro aan belastinggeld…….
In het eerste artikel van ‘EIR’ onder dit schrijven heeft men nog enigszins kritiek op deze oefening, hoewel daar onterecht kritiek wordt geuit op de Russische oefening Zapad 2017. Het artikel daaronder van The DRIVE is pas echt onvervalste oorlogshitserij en één grote lobby voor de VS, de NAVO en het militair-industrieel complex, kortom een berg leugens waar je koud van wordt……… Rusland is de kwaaie pier die ongelofelijk agressief tekeergaat in Oost-Europa……. ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Terwijl de NAVO de ene grootschalige militaire oefening na de andere houdt langs de Russische grens, een grens waar de NAVO, een agressieve oorlogszuchtige organisatie, ver van weg had moeten blijven, dit volgens de afspraak die in 1991 werd gesloten met de Russische (Sovjet) president Gorbatsjov……
De VS heeft een opstand en een coup gekocht (met 4,5 miljard dollar!!) en mogelijk gemaakt in Oekraïne, maar Rusland is agressief bezig…….. De VS en de EU vinden het prima dat een neonazi-junta o.l.v. de enorm corrupte Porosjenko de inwoners van Oost-Oekraïne belaagt met neonazi-bataljons, maar Rusland is agressief bezig…….. Als je de westerse reguliere media en het overgrote deel van de westerse politici hoort, zou Rusland haar leger hebben samengetrokken in Oost-Oekraïne….. ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Als Rusland zich daar werkelijk had opgehouden en gevochten, waren de neonazi’s, inclusief de Porosjenko kliek allang het land uit gelazerd door de Russen!!
Nee. de VS is een geweldig land dat deze eeuw: -‘nog maar’ 4 illegale oorlogen is begonnen, -minstens 3 coups heeft georganiseerd en geregisseerd, -een onbekend aantal geheime (militaire) CIA missies heeft uitgevoerd in het buitenland, -een enorm aantal mensen standrechtelijk geëxecuteerd middels drones, waarbij voor meer dan 90% niet eens verdachte mensen, dus vooral vrouwen en kinderen, werden vermoord…. en tot slot -bijvoorbeeld een land als Venezuela financieel naar de knoppen heeft geholpen, d.m.v. een smerige economische oorlog (= zware terreur!!)……. In totaal heeft de VS (met NAVO hulp) deze eeuw al meer dan 2 miljoen mensen vermoord……… Ondanks dat Rusland dit soort enorme misdaden niet heeft begaan en qua doden zelfs niet in de schaduw kan staan van de VS, wordt Rusland als agressief aangewezen…… ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha!
Terug naar de nucleaire militaire oefening: vergeet daarbij niet, dat de VS vorig jaar heeft aangekondigd, dat het kernwapens niet langer als een afschrikkingswapen ziet, maar als een wapen waarmee een eerste aanval moet kunnen worden uitgevoerd…… Nadat hare kwaadaardigheid May medio vorig jaar aan het bewind kwam in Groot-Brittannië, stelde zij hetzelfde……… Daar was uiteraard amper aandacht voor in de reguliere westerse media en bij de neoliberale westerse politici*, maar toen Rusland een paar maanden na May als reactie hetzelfde durfde te zeggen, leek het wel of de doos van Pandora was opengetrokken, niet door de VS en GB, maar door Rusland, de media en politici gingen tekeer alsof Armageddon was aangebroken…..
Daarover gesproken: in het tweede artikel ook aandacht voor de Russische oefening Zapad 2017, die NB eens in de 4 jaar wordt gehouden. Voorafgaand aan die oefening sloegen de voornoemde media en politici op tilt. Deze oefening zou namelijk de opmaat zijn naar een Russische aanval op Oostelijk deel van de EU……. ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! NATO Conducts Nuclear Military Exercise in Semi-Secrecy
Oct. 18, 2017 (EIRNS)—NATO has begun its annual nuclear exercise, “Steadfast Noon,” if not in secret, certainly with a very low profile, since it was not loudly announced as NATO exercises usually are. The exercise began yesterday at the Kleine Brogel air base in Belgium and the Buchel air base in Germany, two of about a half-dozen air bases in Europe where the U.S. stores 150-200 B-61 nuclear bombs. During the exercise, crews with Belgian F-16s and German Tornados, and likely also from the U.S. and Italy, will practice conducting nuclear missions. Polish F-16s and Czech Air Force Gripens are also thought to be participating in support roles.
The low profile of the exercise, explains the Wall Street Journal, is that NATO’s nuclear drills are sensitive, due to the domestic politics of a number of participating countries. A NATO official told the Journal that nuclear exercises remain a “delicate balancing act among allies,” with some countries uncomfortable with public discussions and others wanting acknowledgment of the deterrent’s importance. The official said continuing these annual preparations are vital, especially as geopolitical concerns increase.
Hans Kristensen, the director of the Nuclear Information Project at the Federation of American Scientists, in a blog posting yesterday, notes NATO’s hypocrisy in refusing to openly acknowledge Steadfast Noon.
“The secrecy of the exercise is interesting because NATO only a few weeks ago complained that Russia was not being transparent about its Zapad exercise,” Kristensen writes. “Seems like both sides could do better.”

On Oct. 16, 2017, NATO personnel in Belgium and Germany kicked off this latest iteration of the alliance’s main nuclear deterrence exercise, nicknamed Steadfast Noon. Publicly available U.S. military documents describe its main goal simply as “operations plan validation.” This year’s iteration involves operations at Kleine Brogel Air Base in Belgium and Büchel Air Base in Germany, where the United States maintains stores of B61 nuclear bombs.
The North Atlantic bloc rarely highlights the event and generally omits it from publicly available lists of upcoming exercises. The drills involve an entirely “fictional scenario,” one anonymous NATO official told The Wall Street Journal.
It’s hard not to see the exercise in the context of the Kremlin’s increasingly revanchist foreign policy, though. Since Russian troops seized control Ukraine’s Crimea region in 2014 and subsequently began actively supporting separatists seeking to break away from the central government in Kiev, NATO has adopted an increasingly more militarized posture along its eastern and southern frontiers. A proposed drawdown of American nuclear weapons on the continent has effectively been on indefinite hold ever since.
In September 2017, approximately 13,000 troops from Russia and Belarus, conducted drills along the same borders as part of the Zapad 2017 exercise. Zapad, which means “West,” occurs once every four years. Officials in Moscow insist it is defensive in nature, but it focuses on large scale, high intensity warfare, something that sounds a lot like practicing for a conflict with the western alliance.
In addition, the Russians followed up the massive conventional demonstration with a show of nuclear force, including intercontinental ballistic missile tests by its Strategic Missile Forces. One of these involved a weapon with an all-new warhead design that seems intended to defeat ballistic missile shields such as the one the NATO is presently developing. Though experts debate how serious the danger is, there is a real concern that the Kremlin has adopted a doctrine of “escalating to de-escalate,” as well, which could involve a limited nuclear strike, further underscoring the continued importance of deterrence.
On top of that, there have also been an increasing number of reported incidents of electronic and cyber harassment against alliance members and their other European partners. These almost certainly originate in Russia and highlight the tense nature of the situation despite the lack of any active conflict.
We don’t know what exactly goes into the actual Steadfast Noon drills, regardless of whether the scenario is focused on Russian threats or not, but the main goal is undoubtedly to run through what can only be heavily regimented procedures. Since the end of the Cold War, the United States has kept B61 nuclear gravity bombs at bases such as Kleine Brogel Air Base in Belgium and Büchel Air Base in Germany.
There are approximately 150 to 200 of the weapons spread out between those bases, as well as additional locations in Italy, the Netherlands, and Turkey, with the latter location becoming increasingly controversial.
The bombs are technically “tactical nuclear weapons,” though experts and advocates routinely debate the validity of this term and whether any nuclear weapon can be seen as a limited, tactical tool. Crews can set the tactical versions of the so-called “dial-a-yield” B61 to explode with the force of anywhere from 0.3 to 170 kilotons of TNT, that upper limit being more than eight times more powerful than the Fat Man bomb the United States dropped on Nagasaki in 1945. The United States is presently working on a new B61 Mod 12 version that will be a dual-purpose, tactical and strategic design that incorporates a GPS guidance system and a deep penetrating design.
As well as keeping those weapons forward deployed, the U.S. government maintained agreements with all of the hosts, save Turkey, to potentially share those bombs in an emergency. After an American commander released the weapons to those countries, Belgian and Dutch F-16 fighter jets and German and Italian Tornado multi-role combat aircraft – described as “dual-capable” conventional and nuclear aircraft for treaty purposes – would deliver them onto the specified targets. There are no American aircraft stationed at either Kleine Brogel or Büchel.
For the alliance to conduct a nuclear attack, American personnel at these bases would need to receive and input the appropriate codes into the B61’s Permissive Action Link, a fail-safe device to prevent unauthorized use, before then signing control of the weapons over to European crews. Zag gisteravond een deel van de Britse serie ‘The Last Post’, de serie speelt zich voornamelijk af in de Staat Aden, een deelstaat van de Zuid-Arabische Federatie, een Brits protectoraat. In deze serie bevecht een Britse militaire eenheid de opstand van de bevolking tegen de Britse overheersing.
Donderde bijna van de bank toen ik de uitlatingen van koningin Elizabeth II (de huidige koningin) hoorde, die zij in 1965 deed over Staat Aden. Volgens deze belastinguitvreter had ze alle vertrouwen in Aden, het voorbeeld voor koloniale heerschappij…….. Let wel: dit in een tijd dat veel landen zich ontdeden van de koloniale overheersing, of zich daar intussen van hadden ontdaan, zoals Indonesië.
Benieuwd wat deze enorme Elizabeth mafketel vindt van het feit dat Groot-Brittannië nu volop munitie (waaronder clusterbommen), wapens, pantservoertuigen, straaljagers en helikopters verkoopt aan Saoedi-Arabië, waarmee deze reli-fascistische dictatuur een genocide uitvoert in het voormalige protectoraat dat zij zo roemde, een gebied tegenwoordig bekend onder de naam Jemen……… Waar GB ook nog eens militaire training verleent in Saoedi-Arabië…….
De reguliere westerse (massa-) media zijn druk met het beschuldigen van Rusland* voor alles wat er zo’n beetje fout gaat in de wereld, waarbij uiteraard veel aandacht voor ‘het geweld’ dat Rusland zou uitoefenen in Syrië…… Dit terwijl de echte moordenaars daar bestaan uit de VS, een aantal NAVO landen en de gematigde rebellen….. Gematigde rebellen, lees: psychopathische moordenaars en verkrachters, allen gelinkt aan Al Qaida en Saoedi-Arabië…… Echter er is amper of geen aandacht in die media voor de genocide die in Jemen wordt uitgevoerd door S-A, met o.a. de steun van de VS en GB………
Oh u vraagt zich af hoe die serie is? Uiteraard zijn de Britten de goede ‘jongens’ en zijn de vuile arabieren laf geteisem dat hinderlagen legt en met sluipschutters zelfs kinderen probeert te vermoorden……… Kortom geschiedvervalsing van de eerste orde, zoals de waanzinnige klote serie ‘The Vietnam War…..’

Ondanks bezwaren en bedreigingen van/door Saoedi-Arabië, komt er dan toch een VN onderzoek naar oorlogsmisdaden in Jemen, zo meldde Anti-Media afgelopen zaterdag in een artikel dat werd overgenomen van Middel East Eye (MEE).
Al moet daar onmiddellijk bij aangetekend worden, dat het onderzoek onder druk van S-A, haar arabische coalitie, de VS, Groot-Brittannië en Frankrijk, zwaar is uitgekleed, waarbij de 3 (….) onderzoekers een jaar de tijd krijgen voor hun onderzoek…….
Een volledige commissie zoals deze werd ingesteld naar oorlogsmisdaden in Syrië en bepleit door Canada en een aantal Europese landen, werd afgewezen door Saoedi-Arabië, haar arabische coalitiegenoten, de VS, GB en Frankrijk……
Het is dan ook overduidelijk dat de voornoemde landen en m.n. de VS, GB en Frankrijk schijt hebben aan oorlogsmisdaden en vooral hun enorme wapenleveranties aan Saoedi-Arabië willen veiligstellen…….. Je zou je zelfs af kunnen vragen, of deze 3 landen wel behoefte hebben aan vrede in Jemen, immers bij vrede zal de behoefte aan wapens bij S-A teruglopen…….
De Saoedische coalitie heeft overigens zelf ook een onderzoek ingesteld naar gepleegde oorlogsmisdaden in Jemen en je begrijpt het al: niets aan de hand, behalve een ‘paar kleine foutjes….’
Het bombarderen van scholen, ziekenhuizen en andere doelen, die in het Verdrag van Genève als zware oorlogsmisdaden worden aangemerkt, waren volgens het onderzoek van de Saoedische coalitie noodzakelijk, daar er Houthi-strijders op die plekken aanwezig waren…….. Tja en de kinderen die werden vermoord tijdens die oorlogsmisdaden, zouden zich op een later tijdstip hoogstwaarschijnlijk wel hebben aangesloten bij de Houthi-rebellen, dus……..
Het is een gotspe dat de VS, GB en Frankrijk zich verzetten tegen een uitgebreid onderzoek, zeker als je ziet dat de Saoedische coalitie met hulp van de VS en GB een hongersnood en cholera hebben veroorzaakt in Jemen…….
In het artikel van MEE staat te lezen dat er sinds 2015 meer dan 5.000 doden zijn gevallen, echter dat zijn er volgens deskundigen heel veel meer…. Zo moet je niet vergeten, dat doden binnen 24 uur begraven moeten worden, wat onderzoek naar het werkelijk aantal doden bemoeilijkt. Voorts moet bij het aantal doden de mensen worden opgeteld, die omkwamen door honger en cholera, daar deze zaken zijn veroorzaakt door de bombardementen van de Saoedische coalitie. Voorts zijn er de doden die omkwamen daar ze geen tijdige medische zorg konden krijgen vanwege de door de Saoedische coalitie weggebombardeerde ziekenhuizen……… Gezien deze zaken, stellen een aantal deskundigen, dat het aantal (in feite) vermoorde sjiieten in Jemen de 20.000 sterk moet overschrijden, sommigen spreken zelfs van 30.000 doden………
Alles bij elkaar kan je niet anders concluderen, dan dat de Saoedische coalitie, met hulp van de VS, GB en Frankrijk bezig zijn met een genocide in Jemen……. Ongelofelijk dat er ten eerste geen volledige VN-onderzoekscommissie werd ingesteld, ten tweede dat de VN niet spreekt van een genocide op de sjiitische bevolking van Jemen en ten derde dat de VN geen onmiddellijke staking eist van vijandigheden door de Saoedische coalitie…..

Overcoming Saudi Resistance, UN to Send War Crimes Investigators to Yemen
The deal follows attempts by Saudi Arabia and its allies to block any international investigation into alleged war crimes.
(MEE) — The UN Human Rights Council has agreed to send war crimes investigators to Yemen, overcoming resistance from Saudi Arabia which sought to fend off an independent international probe
A resolution, which was adopted by consensus on Friday afternoon, mandated UN rights chief Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein to send three experts to the country to “carry out a comprehensive examination of all alleged violations and abuses of international human rights” committed in the ongoing conflict.
The move will be seen as a victory for rights group, who have called for an international investigation into allegations of warn crimes in Yemen, where a Saudi-led coalition is accused of committing war crimes as part of a campaign against the Houthis.
More than 5,000 civilians have died since the conflict started in March 2015, with evidence mounting of the deliberate Saudi-led bombing of schools, hospitals and civilian infrastructure as part of a campaign to support the exiled president, Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi.
In a last-minute compromise hammered out between Western powers and Arab countries, the UN Human Rights Council adopted the resolution within hours of a deadline for agreement.
The Yemen delegation said it had accepted the resolution, which calls for Zeid to to establish a group to “monitor and report” on the human rights situation in Yemen and to produce a “comprehensive written report” within 12 months.
Canada and several European countries had initially pushed for a full commission, similar to the one in Syria, to document crimes that have been committed by both sides during the conflict, but this faced objections from Saudi Arabia and its allies, including the UK and France.
Saudi Arabia had warned countries earlier this week that support for the resolution could “negatively affect” trade and diplomatic ties with the oil-rich kingdom.
Ken Roth, the executive director at Human Rights Watch, said the resolution came “despite Saudi extortion” and “despite US-UK equivocation”.
The Bahrain Institute for Rights and Democracy (BIRD) warned, however, that the weakening of the resolution could end up setting a dangerous precedent.
“These major arms exporters, Britain, America and France, set out only to please Saudi Arabia and guarantee their own interests,” said Sayed Ahmed Alwadaei, Director of Advocacy at BIRD, in a statement.
“These countries fuel the conflict with arms sales and their kneeling to the Kingdom reveals just how easily a wealthy country can intimidate others and avoid scrutiny if they buy enough weapons.”
On Thursday, Middle East Eye reported how the UK was blocking an attempt to establish an independent international inquiry into the war in Yemen, prompting dismay among rights groups.
The resolution comes after it emerged that Saudi Arabia has investigated just 36 out of 293 allegations that it has breached international humanitarian law in Yemen recorded by the Ministry of Defence (MoD) in London.
The figures, revealed in little noticed written answers in the UK parliament earlier this month, come after Saudi Arabia’s UK-trained Joint Incidents Assessment Team reported that it only found three targeting errors in its latest batch of investigations.
The panel, which was set up after international pressure, cited the presence of fighters at the homes, school and medical clinics that were targeted. The latest report, released last week, said the coalition had acted in accordance with international humanitarian law, Reuters reported.
Gisteren ontving ik van Compassion in World Farming (CiWF) een schrijven, met daaraan gekoppeld een vraag om een bijdrage voor het werk van deze ngo en een petitie (die wij als niet Brits burger jammer genoeg niet kunnen tekenen).
In dit schrijven bericht CiWF over de Britse regering, die deze ngo heeft laten weten, artikel 13 van een EU verdrag over de status van dieren, niet over zal nemen. Daarmee worden ‘consumptiedieren’ in Groot-Brittannië niet langer gezien als gevoelige wezens, die pijn kunnen voelen, die kunnen lijden en die plezier kunnen ervaren……
Daarmee is het vreselijke lot van dieren in de Britse intensieve martelveehouderij, een hel op aarde, voor vele jaren bezegeld…….

LATEST NEWS: GOVERNMENT CONFIRMS THEY’LL IGNORE ANIMAL SENTIENCE
I am writing to you today with terrible news.
You may recall that, earlier this summer, we discovered that the legal status of British animals as sentient beings was under threat.
I am very sorry to report that the government has now confirmed, directly to us, that they do not intend to amend the Repeal Bill. When they convert EU law into UK law, they are determined to ignore Article 13 of the EU Treaty – which serves to acknowledge that animals can feel pain, suffer and experience joy:
“This obligation will not be preserved by the EU (Withdrawal Bill); which delivers our promise to end the supremacy of EU law in the UK.” – Defra Under Secretary of State, Lord Gardiner, August 2017
If future British governments do not legally need to consider animal sentience, this could threaten everything Compassion supporters like you have helped to achieve in the last 50 years. Animal sentience must be incorporated into UK law.
The petition in defence of Article 13 has now hit over 50,000 signatures – and we’ll be taking these messages directly to Defra. But we need to do more.

‘Groot-Brittannië’ (wat er nog groot is aan Brittannië is me niet geheel duidelijk, niet letterlijk en niet figuurlijk) heeft onder de neoliberale regering van de Tories (of: ‘Conservatieve’ Partij) een onmenselijk bezuinigingsprogramma uitgevoerd, waardoor het arme deel van de Britse bevolking onevenredig hard werd getroffen. Gevolg van deze bezuinigingen o.a.: een nooit eerder gezien aantal mensen, dat zich het leven heeft benomen, ofwel een ongeziene piek in het aantal suïcides……..
Vickie Cooper en David Whyte hebben een boek over deze inhumane bezuinigingen geschreven, onder de titel ‘The Violence of Austerity’. Dat geweld zien de schrijvers bijvoorbeeld in het grote aantal huisuitzettingen, die velen al niet meer opvallen, het is ‘een normaal verschijnsel’ in de Britse straten geworden…… Zoals ook daklozen, de voedselbanken, bedelen en de suïcide epidemie ‘een normaal verschijnsel’ zijn geworden in de Britse straten (hetzelfde geldt overigens voor Nederland: leve het ijskoude, inhumane neoliberalisme!!)……..
De onderlaag werd en wordt onevenredig hard geraakt met deze bezuinigingen. Verder wijst men in het boek op de vernederingen en degradatie die kinderen ten deel vallen, waarmee deze kinderen gestigmatiseerd worden (armoede zorgt bij kinderen voor een trauma, dat ze hun leven lang niet meer kwijt raken..).
Dagelijks gaan in GB meer dan 4 miljoen kinderen met honger naar school, waar men deze kinderen van voedsel voorziet…… Niet de situatie thuis wordt verbeterd, maar het gevolg van die armoede wordt met een pleister weggeplakt, een pleister die voor alle andere kinderen duidelijk zichtbaar is en waarmee ze hun onfortuinlijke leeftijdsgenoten pesten……… In de vakanties lijden deze kinderen dus ‘gewoon’ honger en dat anno 2017 in een rijk westers land……..
Twee andere schrijvers, David Stuckler en Sanjay Basu stelden in hun boek ‘The Body Economic: Why Austerity Kills?’, dat wanneer men bezuinigingen zou onderzoeken als medicijnen, deze zouden worden afgekeurd…………..
U begrijpt dat er niet veel uitleg nodig is, om aan te tonen, dat deze bezuinigingen op den duur, door misdaad, frustraties, geweld enz, de maatschappij een veelvoud zullen kosten, dan de opbrengsten die werden behaald met deze bezuinigingen (tenzij men ommuurde getto’s creëert, waar de onderlaag van de maatschappij wordt opgesloten, veel westerse politiekorpsen ‘lopen al stage in Israël, om zo te leren, hoe men getto’s in de hand kan houden en ‘terreur’ tegen kan gaan, ‘terreur’ veroorzaakt door ongebreidelde overheidsterreur….)….. Al moet ik toegeven dat mensen die zich uit wanhoop het leven hebben benomen, in de toekomst geen cent meer kosten en niet in opstand zullen komen…….

An eye-opening book has given the Tories’ austerity programme a whole new meaning
Austerity has been at the heart of politics in the UK since the 2008 global financial crash; in particular since the Conservative party took control in 2010.
And the book The Violence of Austerity from Pluto Press persuasively shows why. Through its collection of essays, editors Vickie Cooper and David Whyte argue that [p.2]:
People most affected by austerity cuts are not only struggling under the financial strain but are becoming ill, physically and emotionally, and many are dying.
The book lays out how the government justifies its “violent” policy; who the policy affects and its impact; and it presents what really lies behind the neoliberal agenda of austerity and how we can oppose it.
Chillingly normal
One thing the book comments on is how violence occurs through apparently harmless forms [p.3]:
The routine order and administration involved in, for example, seeking asylum or determining whether a person is legally homeless can have lasting and damaging effects whereby the failure to properly support people exacerbates and reproduces other violent circumstances in their lives. These routine administration practices are not always identified as violent; but they are.
It argues that the way violence is carried out through legitimate means, makes it seem normal [p.24]:
Perhaps we have become so accustomed to the ease with which people are evicted and become homeless, or to the food banks, the street-begging and the epidemics in suicides, that we do not make the most obvious observations: that the age that we live in is one in which the political violence of the state is becoming normalised.
And because of this normalisation, people don’t always see the violence.
Four-part exploration
The book explores how violence has occurred in four parts.
In Part I, Deadly Welfare, the book looks at groups of people unduly hit by austerity. It also highlights how government work programmes can enable employers to ruthlessly exploit unpaid volunteers. But soaring suicide rates show the worst impact of austerity, which has been on mental health.
Part II walks through how austerity has amplified poverty. And it points to some very visible examples, such as the rising number of food banks. It touches on non-tangible impacts such as the stigma of poverty, which is also discussed in Chapter Six of Part I, The Degradation and Humiliation of Young People. And the “othering” in the media has made this stigma worse. These are all signs, the book argues, of symbolic violence.
Parts II and III present an overview of how state regulation and state control is slowly erasing social protections; while taking the means to oppose austerity out of public control. For instance, the shrinking social housing stock and lack of rent controls have led to a violent process of evictions. And law enforcement are now policing peaceful protestors by using counter-terrorism methods. Austerity is also no longer just a policy, its been turned into law, forcing local authority actors to carry out its violent agenda [p.185]:
Law-sterity always involves the threat of the state imposing fines upon local government officials, which can ultimately lead to prison sentences.
The neoliberal agenda of austerity and what to do about it
Mary O’Hara, who authors the first chapter, quotes David Stuckler and Sanjay Basu who wrote the book The Body Economic: Why Austerity Kills?. They wrote in The New York Timessaying:
If austerity were tested like medication in a clinical trial, it would have been stopped long ago…
But the government remains committed to its austerity agenda. The editors say its motive is to stabilise the economy in a way that benefits the rich. It does this by growing inequality and privatisation, which will end in the permanent disassembly of the state.
This is not something that members of the public have to accept however. The book notes examples where countries have rejected austerity, like Iceland, which happened on the back of public protest. And activists have taken many successful legal actions against the government due to its unreasonable measures.
The book is enlightening and an education. And it’s a very accessible read, so that ultimately the violence of austerity is plain to see.
Ongelofelijk maar waar: de Saoedische terreurcoalitie heeft het aantal bombardementen op Jemen fiks verhoogd t.o.v. vorig jaar….. In 2016 telde de VN 3.936 bombardementen (door hoofdzakelijk de Saoedische luchtmacht), dat zijn er dit jaar tot nu toe al 5.676…!!!!
Terwijl Saoedi-Arabië een genocide uitvoert op de sjiieten in Jemen, is de wereld doodstil….. 500.000 kinderen (!!!) lijden aan ernstige ondervoeding……. De VS helpt S-A met de blokkade op zee, waar S-A dit ook op het vasteland doet, zodat humanitaire goederen de hongerende bevolking van Jemen niet kan bereiken….. Ook aan medicijnen is een groot gebrek, terwijl een groot aantal mensen in Jemen is besmet met cholera……. Cholera ontstaan door de bombardementen van S-A op watertoevoer, rioleringen (die worden vernield bij bombardementen op burgerdoelen als huizen, appartementscomplexen e.d.), zuiveringsinstallaties en elektriciteitscentrales………. Daardoor is er ook een tekort aan drinkwater in Jemen……..
Op 26 juli jl. stond de teller van het aantal cholerabesmettingen in Jemen op 380.000 (!!!), waar er dagelijks een fiks aantal aan worden toegevoegd……. Vergeet daarnaast niet, dat S-A een groot aantal ziekenhuizen in Jemen heeft gebombardeerd, met stille toestemming van het westen, daar het doel de sjiitische bevolking is en zoals u weet, Iran is sjiitisch en ‘Iran valt het ene na het andere land aan, niet de VS met de NAVO aan de hand…….’ Nee, ‘Iran viel illegaal Afghanistan aan na 11 september 2001, Irak in 2003, Libië en Syrië in 2011…… De Twin Towers stonden tenslotte in Iran, of vergis ik me nu???? Alsof IS, Al Qaida met al haar terroristische onderafdelingen in Syrië en andere landen, bestaan uit sjiieten i.p.v. soennieten………
Als ‘fake news’ (‘nepnieuws’) orgaan de Washington Post en andere reguliere westerse (massa-) media met een leugen komen, dat de Syrische troepen 10 kinderen hebben omgebracht, staan de VS en de rest van reguliere westerse media op haar kop en schreeuwen politici als de zwaar disfunctionerende PvdA jaknikker Koenders om maatregelen tegen het democratisch gekozen Syrische bewind, waarbij ze de kop van Assad eisen…… Maar als er daadwerkelijk een genocide wordt uitgevoerd door S-A (met hulp van o.a. de VS en Groot-Brittannië) in Jemen, o.a. middels bombardementen van burgerdoelen, kijken de westerse media en politici de andere kant op………. Bombardementen op een land waar 500.000 kinderen in levensgevaar verkeren, ja waar er zelfs al een fiks aantal van is overleden, een land waar mensen overlijden aan cholera…….
Nu blijkt dus, dat Saoedi-Arabië ook nog eens het aantal bombardementen op de sjiieten in Jemen sterk heeft verhoogd…….

Saudis Increasing Yemen Airstrikes, Killing More Civilians
This has turned an already catastrophic humanitarian situation, with thousands killed in airstrikes, into an ever-mounting disaster, with the new strikes killing yet more civilians, and strikes so intense in some areas as to displace much of the civilian population elsewhere in the country.
Aid group Oxfam estimated that over 500,000 children in Yemen are already suffering from “severe malnutrition” because of the blockade, and there are no signs of that situation improving any time soon. Indeed, Hodeidah, the last port that has access to the country’s north, is nearly constantly under siege, with the Saudis seeking to transfer it to the control of the country’s southern government.
Stan van Houcke bracht afgelopen zaterdag een bericht van ABC News (Australië) waarin wordt gemeld dat Groot-Brittannië haar 2 nieuwste vliegdekschepen richting Zuid-Chinese Zee stuurt…… 2 nieuwe peperdure vliegdekschepen, terwijl dagelijks meer dan 4 miljoen kinderen in G.B. met honger naar school gaan…….
Volgens de minister van Defensie, Sir Michael Fallon is het nodig dat deze schepen China een poepie laten ruiken, vanwege de spanningen in dat gebied, hij noemt dat een ‘uitdaging…..’ Je kan er donder op zeggen, dat deze oorlogshitsende handeling is ingegeven door de VS……..
Nu nog een tip voor China: deze 2 vliegdekschepen draaien op Windows XP!! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Ik zou zeggen: “China doe er je voordeel mee!!”
Als de wet krom is, kan er geen recht worden gesproken. Zo bleek ook afgelopen maandag weer eens, toen het Britse Supreme Court besliste dat de enorme wapenleveranties van de regering May aan Saoedi-Arabië, zoals onlangs (voor de zoveelste keer) overeengekomen, volkomen legaal zijn………
Vredesorganisatie Campagne tegen Wapenhandel (CAAT) had een zaak aanhangig gemaakt, maar helaas speculaas. Het gerechtshof oordeelde dat men niet kan weten, of S-A de wapens die het koopt in GB zal inzetten tegen de bevolking van welk land dan ook…….. Bovendien kan niet bewezen worden, dat S-A de wapens doelbewust inzet om burgers te doden…………
Mensen, er waren nog meer redenen, maar u begrijpt het, toen die genoemd werden hing ik al kotsend boven de WC……….
Saoedi-Arabië heeft o.a. Jemenitische waterinstallaties gebombardeerd, waardoor er nu meer dan 300.000 mensen cholera hebben opgelopen, dagelijks komen daar 7.000 mensen bij (uiteraard veel kinderen en zwakke mensen)…….. S-A heeft Jemenitische ziekenhuizen, scholen en woonwijken gebombardeerd………. S-A en de VS hebben blokkades opgeworpen, zodat er in Jemen een groot tekort is ontstaan aan voedsel, medicijnen, water en brandstof. De hongersnood in Jemen (weet u nog de laatste giro555 actie?) is dan ook te danken aan S-A en de VS (resp. de nummer 2 en 1 terreurentiteit op onze wereld)…….. Maar ‘de rechter’ ziet ondanks de Saoedische genocide op de sjiitische bewoners van Jemen, geen reden Britse wapenleveranties aan S-A te verbieden……
