Trump heeft zich door de zwaar corrupte oorlogsmisdadiger Netanyahu in laten fluisteren (op een niveau van 80 decibel) dat Iran de boel in het Midden-Oosten destabiliseert en dat niet de VS maar Iran verantwoordelijk is voor de illegale oorlogen van de VS tegen Afghanistan, Irak en Syrië….. Trump durft het nog niet aan, maar ‘de bewering van Netanyahu’ dat Iran ook verantwoordelijk is voor 9/11, klonk als muziek in z’n oren, zeker weet Trump ‘t niet meer, echter niet valt uit te sluiten dat Trump e.e.a. heeft gedroomd……
Moet eerlijk toegeven dat het me meevalt dat de westerse partners van de VS nog steeds achter de nucleaire deal met Iran (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, ofwel: JCPOA) blijven staan, terwijl de VS zich daaruit terugtrok. Hoe vreemd dan dat deze partners zich wel achter de VS scharen als het om Venezuela gaat…… Neem bijvoorbeeld de genocide in Jemen, waar dagelijks grote aantallen slachtoffers vallen, daaronder bevinden zich veel kinderen: het westen blijft achter de drogredenen staan die de VS aanvoert voor haar deelname aan die genocide, terwijl elke imbeciel kan zien dat de Saoedische terreurcoalitie verantwoordelijk is voor deze genocide…… De VS blijft zich achter die terreurcoalitie stellen en helpt zelfs militair mee aan de genocide, waar de VS o.a. de bombardementen op Jemenitische burgerdoelen regisseert middels haar AWACS vliegtuigen…….
Zie het verschil met Venezuela, daar wordt allesbehalve een genocide uitgevoerd, maar in het westen maakt men zich wel hysterisch druk over de toestand in Venezuela…… Terwijl er in Venezuela niet dagelijks grote aantallen doden zijn te bergen en wordt er daar niet systematisch gemarteld in de gevangenissen, zoals de Saoedische terreurcoalitie dit wel doet in Jemen……
Iedereen die het nieuws over Venezuela de laatste jaren heeft gevolgd, niet in de reguliere media maar op de sociale media, waar nog wel artikelen van echt onafhankelijke journalisten zijn te vinden, kan weten dat de VS al onder Obama een economische oorlog voerde tegen dat land….. Maar nee, niet de westerse politiek en reguliere media, nee men huilt mee in het koor van de VS wolven en stelt dat Maduro op moet stappen en dat hij verantwoordelijk is voor de desastreuze economische toestand in Venezuela…….
Hoe is het in godsnaam mogelijk dat het westen (buiten de VS) zich niet druk maakt over de genocide in Jemen, sterker nog: men noemt dit nog steeds geen genocide, terwijl alle tekenen daarvoor ruim voorhanden zijn…… Nee, de coup tegen Maduro is duizend keer meer belangrijker (zoals eerder de moord op Khashoggi) en dat is bepaald niet in de laatste plaats aan dezelfde hersenkronkels van superpsychopaat Trump te danken, die men in het westen dan (gelukkig) niet volgt in zijn strijd tegen Iran…….

Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats, as well as the directors of the CIA, FBI, National Security Agency and other intelligence agencies, spoke before the committee.
On Wednesday, Trump responded on Twitter, saying “the Intelligence people seem to be extremely passive and naive when it comes to the dangers of Iran. They are wrong!”
“Perhaps Intelligence should go back to school!” he added.
Former CIA Director John Brennan retweeted the president’s remarks, calling Trump’s refusal to accept the intelligence assessments a sign of “intellectual bankruptcy”.

In his arguments posted to Twitter, Trump accused Tehran of actively seeking nuclear weapons, reiterating the justification he gave for withdrawing last year from a multilateral treaty on Iran.
Under the 2015 deal, Iran agreed to restrict its nuclear activities in exchange for the lifting of sanctions.
The US intelligence officials told the Senate Intelligence Committee that Iran was not developing nuclear weapons in violation of the agreement.

During Tuesday’s hearing, the country’s top spies also took issue with Trump’s assertion that the Islamic State (IS) group has been defeated.
Trump defended his decision to withdraw about 2,000 US troops from Syria on grounds that IS no longer poses a threat, saying “we’ve beaten them”.
“Caliphate will soon be destroyed, unthinkable two years ago,” Trump said on Twitter at the time.
Trump has given the Pentagon about four months to withdraw US troops from Syria, backtracking from his abrupt December order for a pullout within 30 days.
The US intelligence chiefs said IS would continue to pursue attacks from Syria and Iraq against regional and Western adversaries, including the US.
“The President has a dangerous habit of undermining the intelligence community to fit his alternate reality,” Senator Mark Warner, the Senate Intelligence Committee’s top Democrat, wrote on Twitter. “People risk their lives for the intelligence he just tosses aside on Twitter.”
Republican Congressman Mike Gallagher, who served as a Marine Corps intelligence officer while deployed in Iraq, also defended the intelligence agencies, saying: “They are doing a very difficult job and they are actually trying to advance the president’s priorities”.
The CIA and the director of national intelligence office did not comment on Trump’s remarks.

In ‘De Wereld Draait Door’ (DWDD) afgelopen maandag het toneelgezelschap De Verleiders, die middels een theatervoorstelling genaamd #nietsteverbergen het land rondreist. De heren van dit gezelschap willen de Nederlanders opvoeden op het gebied van privacy, daar je telkens weer de dooddoener hoort ‘ik heb niets te verbergen’, als er wordt gesproken over de aantasting van de privacy…… Duidelijk dat mensen die voorgaand cliché gebruiken niet doorhebben hoe je leven overhoop kan worden gegooid, als je in de verkeerde kijker van de geheime diensten terechtkomt, of als je identiteit wordt gestolen….. Om maar te zwijgen over de hypothetische mogelijkheid dat er een rechtse coup zou worden gepleegd in Nederland, of als een vreemde mogendheid ons land zou binnenmarcheren (zie het Nederlandse bevolkingsregister van voor WOII en de Jodenvervolging in ons land….) Techjournalist voor RTL, Daniël Verlaan stelde na de uitzending o.a. dat het voorbeeld dat werd gegeven onzin is, het voorbeeld dat werd gegeven: als je in een ‘moslimwijk’ woont en je zou een bepaalde zak kunstmest kopen voor je volkstuintje, je van de AIVD mogelijk een vlaggetje achter je naam krijgt (met een bepaalde soort kunstmest kan je explosieven maken). Het is maar zeer de vraag of dat niet zo zou zijn, immers ook hier geboren Nederlanders die zich bekeerden tot de islam, hebben zich met terrorisme ingelaten….. Het aantal aanslagen in de EU, die men had kunnen voorkomen doordat de daders zich al in het vizier van geheime diensten bevonden, doet al snel de idee ontstaan dat geheime diensten zich met veel te veel zaken bemoeien, ofwel ze zien door de bomen het bos niet meer en het is bepaald niet onmogelijk dat men de verkeerde personen doorlicht, bijvoorbeeld doordat je bepaalde woorden hebt gebruikt in een telefoongesprek…… Nog steeds worden mensen die bij de geheime diensten als ‘extreem-links’ bekend staan, als gevaarlijk gezien door die diensten, terwijl daar niet de minste aanleiding toe is….. Terwijl men zoals gewoonlijk extreem rechts laat aankloten (al moet ik zeggen dat de AIVD, of de Nationaal Coördinator Terrorismebestrijding, afgelopen jaar hebben gewezen op het gevaar van aanslagen door extreemrechts, dit jaren nadat extreemrechtse figuren aanslagen pleegden op moskeeën en scholen met islamitisch onderwijs…..)….. Eén ding is zeker, als de VS de data van de AIVD wil inzien krijgt ze daar toestemming voor en als je in dat gestolen land op een terreurverdachten-lijst komt te staan, kan je beter onderduiken…… Voorts is bekend dat een Israëlische firma, die goede banden heeft met het terreurbewind in dat land, soft- en hardware heeft geleverd aan de Nederlandse politie, waar bij storingen alleen personeel van die firma aan de hardware en software mag ‘sleutelen…..’ Het is wel bijna zeker dat de Israëlische geheime dienst in de computerarchieven van de Nederlandse politie kan grasduinen….. Volgens hare D66 leeghoofdigheid en superfantast Ollongren zijn er strenge regels voor ingrijpen van de geheime diensten, echter het is maar de vraag of degenen die e.e.a. moeten controleren alles te zien krijgen van wat de AIVD en MIVD op het gebied van privacy uitvreten…….. Voorlopig is de sleepwet van kracht, waarbij de geheime diensten gegevens van alle Nederlanders mogen verzamelen en dat voor een veel te lange tijd mogen bewaren….. (en die zoals gezegd door de VS mogen worden ingezien; zou dat niet mogen is er niets aan de hand voor de VS, dan breken ze gewoon in door de computers van de AIVD en MIVD te hacken, zoals ze dat al eerder hebben laten zien, zelfs de smartphone van Merkel, premier van Duitsland [een bevriende natie van de VS], was niet veilig voor VS spionage…..) Ollongren had overigens wel een erg grote bek over de uitzending van DWDD, terwijl deze fantast eerder Rusland beschuldigde van het manipuleren van de Nederlandse verkiezingen en die in de VS….. ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Terwijl er voor die uitlatingen niet één steekhoudend bewijs is gevonden, laat staan geopenbaard……. Wat betreft Russische manipulaties van de VS presidentsverkiezingen, zijn zelfs na meer dan 2 jaar geen bewijzen geleverd!!! Hierbij gelooft Ollongren de westerse geheime diensten volledig, terwijl die van de VS, GB, Duitsland en Frankrijk aantoonbaar een fiks aantal keren hebben gelogen, zo hard gelogen dat daardoor in Irak intussen meer dan 1,5 miljoen mensen werden vermoord in een illegale oorlog, die de VS met militaire steun van veel NAVO landen (ook Nederland) in 2003 begon….. Leden van de vluchtelingenhulpgroep ‘No More Deaths’ proberen al een paar jaar vluchtelingen die de grens van Mexico naar de VS oversteken te helpen, door voedsel, water en kleding achter te laten in de woestijnachtige gebieden die zich daar bevinden. Zeer tegen de zin van inhumane schoften die het liefst alle vluchtelingen dood zien, dat vinden fascisten namelijk een humane dood……
Deze vrijwilligers wordt o.a. verweten dat ze zich zonder vergunning in een ‘beschermd’ natuurgebied bevonden en daar de de boel hebben vervuild met jerrycans gevuld met water, aangevuld met achterlating van voedsel en kleding…… Dit in een land waar men schijt heeft aan welk natuurgebied ook, zeker als het winstgevend is om daar zaken te ontwikkelen, of een oliepijpleiding over dit land aan te leggen (die zoals bekend uit de geschiedenis) altijd gaan lekken, zo lekken ook de laatst aangelegde pijpleidingen….)….. Onder Obama was het al bar en boos wat betreft de bescherming van natuurgebieden, echter onder Trump is het hek helemaal van de dam….. Vergeet bij dit alles niet dat de VS de boel in veel Latijns-Amerikaanse landen zo heeft verziekt dat mensen op de vlucht slaan, verziekt middels het organiseren van opstanden, met de opzet onwelgevallige regeringen te laten vallen, veelal voorafgegaan door economische oorlogsvoering (neem Venezuela….*)…. Waar de VS deze staatsgrepen regisseert dan wel deze zelf uitvoert….. Zo zat de vluchtelingenkaravaan die door Midden-Amerika naar de grens met de VS trok, bomvol met vluchtelingen uit Honduras, waar de VS in 2009 de staatsgreep regisseerde en waar nu de door de VS geparachuteerde fascistische dictator Hernandez met de scepter zwaait…… Hernandez, een fascist die alles wat naar links of armoede ruikt wil uitroeien en al zeker geen actie wil tegen drugsbendes die deze mensen belagen……. Voorts zijn er doodseskaders, bestaande uit leger- en politiepersoneel, verantwoordelijk voor het uitschakelen van vakbondsleiders, mensenrechtenactivisten en milieuactivisten……. Voor deze coup in 2009 zijn Hillary Clinton, destijds minister van BuZa onder Obama en Obama zelf de hoofdverantwoordelijken…….

WHAT’S NEXT FOR NO MORE DEATHS AFTER LATEST CONVICTIONS OF VOLUNTEERS?
United States (Cronkite) – More than a decade ago, No More Deaths volunteer Dan Millis left plastic water jugs in the desert for migrants crossing the Mexican border into the Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge.
Federal authorities charged him with littering in 2008, and he was found guilty by U.S. Magistrate Judge Bernardo Velasco.
Millis’ case was overturned two years later by the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, and it’s considered a win for the volunteer organization pledged to provide food, water and clothing for migrants crossing forbidden stretches of the Sonoran Desert.
Last week, Velasco found four more No More Deaths volunteers guilty of misdemeanor charges, not only for leaving aid, but also for trespassing on the national wildlife refuge. The four face possible prison time and a $250 fine. Sentencing has not been scheduled.
Velasco found No More Deaths volunteer Natalie Hoffman guilty of all three charges brought against her; Oona Holcomb, Madeline Huse and Zaachila Orozco-McCormick were found guilty of the two charges brought against them.
In his verdict, Velasco asserted the four defendants knowingly broke the law by entering the Cabeza Prieta National Wildlife Refuge without a permit.
“The Defendants did not get an access permit, they did not remain on the designated roads, and they left water, food, and crates in the Refuge,” Velasco wrote. “All of this, in addition to violating the law, erodes the national decision to maintain the Refuge in its pristine nature.”
Millis agrees wildlife refuges are “set aside to protect the cultural and natural resources of those of areas.” However, he doesn’t think government organizations are responding adequately to what he said is an increasing number of human remains found across the desert.
“When we look at what’s happening on Cabeza Prieta, we see that there are people dying there in large numbers,” Millis said. “That is not part of what these lands were set aside for by the federal government, they’re not set aside as some sort of place where poor people can be punished as they try to migrate to survive.”
Given his own legal battle, Millis has hope for the four women found guilty Friday.
“(Velasco) said similar things about me with the bogus conviction 10 years ago. He was wrong then, and he’s wrong now,” Millis said.
Four more No More Deaths volunteers are scheduled to begin their trials Feb. 26 and March 4. Caitlin Deighan is charged with driving in a wilderness area. Deighan, Zoe Anderson, Logan Hollarsmith and Rebecca Grossman-Richeimer face charges of entering a national wildlife refuge without a permit.
A fifth volunteer, Scott Warren, is facing felony charges of harboring and conspiracy related to humanitarian aid work. His trial is set to begin in late May. Warren has taught in the past as a faculty associate at Arizona State University.
With Velasco’s decision last week, No More Deaths now has four more guilty verdicts to add to its legal history. But what do the recent convictions and upcoming trials mean for the future of providing potentially life-saving aid in Arizona’s borderlands?
The Rev. John Fife, one of the founders of No More Deaths in 2004, said the group’s guilty verdicts won’t change the work the group does.
“(The convictions) will have no impact,” said Fife, a retired Presbyterian minister. “We have a responsibility, not only to the right to provide humanitarian aid in the event of a tragedy like this, but we have a responsibility to see that the right to provide humanitarian aid is maintained.”
Katherine Franke, a legal expert on the defense’s side, said the criminalization of No More Deaths’ humanitarian work can spill over to the work of other aid organizations.
“I think any of the people who are providing social services to a range of communities in southern Arizona, some of whom might include undocumented people, are vulnerable to being prosecuted as well,” Franke said. “I’ve spoken to some of those people in southern Arizona, and they’re very worried and are watching how these cases go.”
Fife said the guilty verdicts for the four volunteers will be appealed.
“The ruling will be appealed, as have other rulings that tried to criminalize the provision of humanitarian aid in the midst of this terrible tragedy that’s going on in our desert and has for years,” he said.
The prosecution has declined to comment.
Fife, asked whether No More Deaths will continue to work in Cabeza Prieta, responded, “I think those questions, which are very detailed and very strategic, are under discussion right now because of the verdict that just came down on Friday.”

Maakt verder niet uit, de meer dan belachelijke reacties van de verschillende media-oorlogshitsers zijn het lezen meer dan de moeite waard. Met het voorgaande geven de reguliere massamedia in de VS nog eens aan dat ze volkomen in de zak zitten van: -de oorlogshitsers in het Pentagon, -de geheime diensten van de VS, -de wapenfabrikanten (inclusief de fabrikanten van rollend, varend en vliegend oorlogstuig), -de NAVO en -de oliemaffia (de laatsten verdienen in tijden van oorlog ook fiks meer)….. War Whores Scramble to Say Syria Attack Means US Troops Must Remain
(CJ Opinion) — A suicide bombing in Manbij, Syria has reportedly killed 19 people including four Americans, two of whom were US soldiers and two of whom worked with the US military. ISIS, which has an extensive history of falsely claiming responsibility for attacks it had nothing to do with, has claimed responsibility for the attack. Despite the fact that ISIS would claim responsibility for a housewife stepping on a Lego block, and despite the complete absence of evidence that it had anything to do with the deadly explosion, all the usual cheerleaders of endless war are pointing to the Manbij suicide bombing and shrieking “See?? Trump said ISIS is defeated and it’s not!”
“ISIS is still a very real threat here,” CNN international corespondent Clarissa Ward told Jake Tapper from northern Syria. “And the real concern that we are hearing over and over again on the ground, Jake, is that when US troops withdraw, a power vacuum is created, and that only gives them more strength.”
Virulent Syria war pundit Charles Lister, who is notorious for praising Al Qaeda and is a senior fellow at the Gulf state-funded neoconservative think tank Middle East Institute, told AFP that this attack invalidates Donald Trump’s order last month to withdraw troops from Syria.
“Trump’s order was reckless and driven far more by domestic political concerns than it was by facts on the ground,” Lister said, adding, “To suggest ISIS is ‘defeated’ because it no longer controls territory is to fundamentally misunderstand how ISIS and similar organizations seek to operate.”
Former John McCain ventriloquism dummy Lindsey Graham pounced like a rat on a cheese doodle on the opportunity to call for continued US troop presence within hours of the attack, interrupting the confirmation hearing of Attorney General nominee William Barr with an ejaculation about Trump’s Syria withdrawal.
Senator @LindseyGrahamSC this morning spoke about the attacks on American service members in Manbij, Syria.
“I would hope the President would look long and hard at where he’s headed in Syria,” Graham said after repeating the baseless claim that the attack was perpetrated by ISIS. “I know people are frustrated, but we’re never going to be safe here unless we’re willing to help people over there who will stand up against this radical ideology.”
Not to be left out when there are moronic war agendas to be sold, Fox News leapt into the fray with a quote from an anonymous foreign diplomat saying “This attack today is a direct result of the announcement made by President Trump that U.S. forces are pulling out. These troops had a bullseye on them when the president telegraphed that he was ordering a pullout.”
“ISIS has already claimed responsibility for today’s suicide attack, a reminder that the group is not defeated,” added Fox’s Jennifer Griffin.
MSNBC’s deranged intelligence analyst Malcolm Nance topped everyone as usual with a babbling nonsensical post about how US troops were killed in Manbij because there were no US troops in Manbij, proving that Assad and Putin may have allowed the attack to happen, which proves Trump is a Russian asset.
“The moment Russia and Assad took over patrolling Manbij on Trumps go ahead we get hit with suicide bombers for the first time. It’s possible Russia/Assad let the attack happen. Trump’s treachery on this matter now kills our special operators. #RussianAsset,” Nance tweeted between huffs of paint thinner.

Other voices are treating the reports about the bombing with a little more skepticism.
“If ISIS were smart it would hold its fire especially against Americans,” tweeted professor and author Max Abrahms. “The main justification for leaving Syria is the (contested) assessment ISIS is defeated. ISIS attacks convey the opposite, weakening the strategic rationale of withdrawal while making it politically harder.”
“Ok, so Trump announces that the U.S. will begin a phased withdrawal from Syria, which according to his critics, would only benefit ISIS who they say is still operational and would welcome a U.S. pull out. But not waiting for pull out ISIS then targets U.S. troops! Yeah right,” tweeted former Green Party vice presidential nominee Ajamu Baraka.
These are interesting points. If ISIS is indeed responsible for the bombing, as war pundits are unquestioningly asserting is the case, then they’re either really, really stupid or they really want US troops to remain in Syria. Or perhaps the attack was engineered by someone else who has a vested interest in keeping a US military presence in Syria, either using ISIS as a patsy or completely separate from ISIS. Wouldn’t be the first time a suspicious attack took place in Syria while the Trump administration was working to withdraw troops.
Of course, this whole debate ignores the most obvious point of all: that if there was no US military presence in Syria, there would be no US military personnel being killed in Syria. The fight against the terrorist forces who nearly overtook the nation with the help of the western power alliance’s imperialist support have been beaten to the brink of total defeat not by the US, but by the Syrian government and its allies. If US troops were removed Damascus would quickly restore stability to the region and continue rebuilding the war-ravaged nation. But this is precisely what these war whores do not want.
Syria is a strategically crucial geopolitical nation for reasons having to do with natural resources and the power dynamics of Israel, Iran, and the empire-aligned Gulf states. It is not a coincidence that so much energy gets poured into this small stretch of land and its surrounding nations by the western military alliance and its propaganda machine, and it’s unlikely that the global dominators will lose interest in Syria any time soon. Jason Ditz plaatste op ANTIWAR een artikel over de wil van Trump een raketafweersysteem in de ruimte te construeren. Eerder kondigde Trump al aan (waarschijnlijk nadat hij een marathon van Star War films had gezien) dat de VS een militair ruimteleger zal opzetten……
Overigens bepaald niet de eerste keer dat men in de VS sprak over een VS raketafweersysteem in de ruimte: ook de knettergekke president en B-acteur Reagan wilde in de 80er jaren van de vorige eeuw een raketafweersysteem in de ruimte, een plan dat destijds sarcastisch Star Wars werd genoemd……
Verder hebben zowel Trump als zijn adviseur Bolton aangekondigd dat de VS uit het INF verdrag zal stappen, met de claim dat Rusland zich niet aan dit verdrag houdt, terwijl het juist de VS is die met een ‘raketschild’ in Polen en Roemenië de boel verder op scherp heeft gesteld…… Dat raketschild zou gericht zijn tegen raketten uit Iran, terwijl dat land bepaald niet bekend staat als land dat overal en nergens illegale oorlogen begint, zoals de VS dat met hulp van andere NAVO partners pleegt te doen…..
De raketten van het raketschild in Polen en Roemenië kunnen in een mum van tijd van kernkoppen worden voorzien en daarmee als aanvalsraketten worden ingezet…… Met dat schild heeft de VS dan ook het Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces-verdrag (INF-verdrag) al lang en breed geschonden, immers de raketten van het raketschild staan op strategische afstand van doelen als Moskou in Rusland, een afstand die binnen het INF-verdrag als verboden is gekenmerkt, ofwel raketten die doelen op een afstand van 500 tot 5.500 kilometer kunnen raken……
Het voorgaande terwijl zoals gezegd de VS het gore lef heeft te stellen dat Rusland het INF-verdrag schendt…..
Geen sterk stuk van Ditz, daar hij een aantal zaken is vergeten. Waar hij een punt heeft is zijn stelling dat de VS duidelijk van zins is om Rusland vergeldingscapaciteit uit te schakelen, ofwel dat Rusland bij een nucleaire aanval van de VS plus haar NAVO partners GB en Frankrijk, geen raketten als vergelding kan lanceren…… Het voorgaande zal leiden tot een nieuwe wapenrace en deze is zeker niet in het belang van het volk in de VS, Rusland en de rest van Europa……
Met een ruimte raketafweersysteem breekt de VS de al zeer fragiele stabiliteit in de wereld verder af, terwijl Trump, Bolton en andere top-oorlogsmisdadigers in de VS, keer op keer schermen met de leugen dat de VS de stabiliteit in de wereld bewaart en bewaakt…….. Hoe verzint men het en dat in een land dat de ene illegale oorlog na de andere begint??!!! De VS houdt zich verder bezig met economische oorlogsvoering en het opzetten van opstanden die tot een staatsgreep moeten leiden……. Ook vermoordt de VS een enorm aantal verdachten (ofwel illegale executies zonder een fatsoenlijke rechtszaak) middels drones, waarbij meer dan 90% van de slachtoffers niet eens werd verdacht, dus veelal vrouwen en kinderen…… Alsof al deze zaken stabilisatie bevorderend zijn……
Eén ding is zeker: mocht WOIII uitbreken is deze één op één ‘te danken aan’ de grootste terreurentiteit op de wereld, t.w. de VS (en haar oorlogshond de NAVO)…….
‘Star Wars’ Returns: US Military to Develop Space-Based Missile Defense System
(ANTIWAR.COM) — In what looks to be a highly ambitious and even more highly cost prohibitive scheme, President Trump has announced his intention to greatly expand US missile defense systems, with a major focus on putting them in space.
During his announcement Thursday at the Pentagon, Trump set out his goals, saying that he wants “to ensure that we can detect and destroy any missile launched against the United States – anywhere, anytime, anyplace.”
The Pentagon has had space-based interceptors on its wish list for some time, but between that and drones with lasers on them, they were far short of the sort of total, planet-wide coverage that President Trump is talking about.
A space-centric missile defense system must inevitably draw comparisons to the Strategic Defense Initiative, commonly called Star Wars, of the 1980s, a controversial and hugely expensive program that also sought space-based interceptors.
The timing of President Trump’s announcement will likely raise eyebrows on a few fronts, as it comes just a day after the US announced its intentions to withdraw from the Intermediate Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty with Russia, and just a day before North Korean officials are to arrive to meet with the secretary of state.
Especially with respect to Russia, US buildups of missile defense systems have been met with major suspicion that the US is trying to eliminate Russia’s deterrent capability, a concern which often leads to Russian threats of a new arms race. With a treaty having just collapsed, that’s an even bigger concern this time.
This also likely is tied to President Trump’s long-standing fondness for militarizing space, and his attempts to create a Space Force. During his speech, Trump declared space to be a “new warfighting domain.”
In de VS spreekt men n.a.v. de Trump administratie over ‘Trump Hypersensitive Unexplained Disorder’ (THUD), een aandoening die wordt veroorzaakt door het regeringsbeleid van Trump, uiteraard dik gerelateerd aan de leugen die men ‘Russiagate’ noemt……. Aan voorgaande aandoeningen lijdt men in de VS al decennia lang, niet zo vreemd als je ziet hoe inhumaan men daar met het grote arme deel van de bevolking omgaat, -hoe men omgaat met wapenbezit, -hoe men omgaat met kleurlingen, -hoe men de ene na de andere illegale oorlog voert, -de enorme prestatiedwang in de VS maatschappij en zaken als -de prijs voor gezonde voeding (arme gezinnen zijn altijd goedkoper uit als ze eten halen bij zaken als McDonald’s, i.p.v. gezonde voeding uit de winkel of van de markt)….
Buiten wapenbezit, zijn deze zaken overigens ook van toepassing op veel andere westerse bevolkingen, zelfs in Nederland lijden veel mensen aan de hiervoor benoemde gezondheidsklachten……
Johnstone betoogt terecht dat de reguliere massamedia verantwoordelijk zijn voor doden, niet alleen met hun onvoorwaardelijke steun aan het oneindig illegaal oorlogvoeren door de VS, maar ook voor het bewaren (en bewaken) van de ijskoude, inhumane neoliberale status quo, door deze dag in dag uit als zaligmakend te prediken….. Daarmee propageren deze media de klassenmaatschappij die van nooit weggeweest weer massaal wordt omarmt in de VS (en andere westerse landen), ja zelfs door mensen die arm zijn, daar de media hen voorhouden dat ze volgend jaar wel eens schathemelrijk zouden kunnen zijn…. Ofwel het inleveren van de leugen dat het leven na de dood veel beter zou zijn dan het leven zelf, zoals o.a. door christenen gepropageerd, wordt meer en meer ingewisseld voor het gehersenspoelde ‘kansdenken’, waarvoor de reguliere massamedia en veel politici verantwoordelijk zijn…..
Vergeet niet dat je in de VS aanwijsbaar langer kan leven als je geld hebt, buiten de (gedwongen) voedselkeuze voor arme burgers, is ook de medische hulpverlening voor de welgestelden tientallen procenten beter dan die voor de grote onderlaag van arme mensen in de VS, van wie niet zelden mensen vroegtijdig overlijden aan bijvoorbeeld kanker, daar ze de therapieën niet kunnen betalen……. Buiten de 50 miljoen VS burgers die afhankelijk zijn van voedselbonnen, zijn er vele miljoenen meer, die zelfs met 2 banen niet rond kunnen komen (een zaak die hier ook meer en meer voorkomt, we volgen de VS dan ook in het asociale neoliberale VS beleid…….)
A new, updated data set is now available on a psychological phenomenon that has been labeled “Trump Anxiety Disorder” or “Trump Hypersensitive Unexplained Disorder,” and it says that the phenomenon only got worse in 2018. The disorder is described as a specific type of anxiety in which symptoms “were specific to the election of Trump and the resultant unpredictable sociopolitical climate,” and according to the 2018 surveys Americans are feeling significantly more stressed by the future of their country and the current political environment than they were last year.
As the possibility of a Hillary Clinton victory began to slip away—and the possibility of a Donald Trump presidency became more and more certain—the contours of the new age of American anxiety began to take shape. In a 2017 column, Washington Postcolumnist Dana Milbank described this phenomenon as “Trump Hypertensive Unexplained Disorder”:

I do not for one second doubt that Americans are feeling more stressed and suffering more health-degrading symptoms as a result than they were prior to Trump’s election. But Pacific Standard and its “growing body of research” ignore the most obvious and significant culprit behind this phenomenon which is tearing people’s health to shreds: the mass media which has been deliberately fanning the flames of Trump panic.
The always excellent Moon of Alabama blog has just published a sarcasm-laden piecedocumenting the many, many aggressive maneuvers that this administration has made against the interests of Russia, from pushing for more NATO funding to undermining Russia’s natural gas interests to bombing Syria to sanctioning Russian oligarchs to dangerous military posturing. And yet the trending, most high-profile stories about Trump today all involve painting him as a Putin puppet who is working to destroy America by taking a weak stance against an alarming geopolitical threat. This has had the effect of manufacturing demand for even more dangerous escalations against a nuclear superpower who just so happens to be a longtime target of US intelligence agencies.
If the mass media were in the business of reporting facts, there would be a lot less “Putin’s puppet” talk and a lot more “Hey, maybe we should avoid senseless escalations which could end all life on earth” talk among news media consumers. But there isn’t, because the mass media is not in the business of reporting facts, it’s in the business of selling narratives. Even if those narratives are so shrill and stress-inducing that they imperil the health of their audience.
Trump is clearly not a Russian asset, he’s a facilitator of America’s permanent unelected government just like his predecessors, and indeed as far as actual policies and administration behavior goes he’s not that much different from Barrack Obama and George W Bush. Hell, for all his demagogic anti-immigrant speech Trump hasn’t even caught up to Obama’s peak ICE deportation years. If the mass media were in the business of reporting facts, people would be no more worried about this administration than they were about the previous ones, because when it comes to his administration’s actual behavior, he’s just as reliable an upholder of the establishment-friendly status quo as his predecessors.

Used to be that the US mass media only killed people indirectly, by facilitating establishment war agendas in repeating government agency propaganda as objective fact and promulgating narratives that manufacture support for a status quo which won’t even give Americans health insurance or safe drinking water. Now they’re skipping the middle man and killing them directly by psychologically brutalizing them so aggressively that it ruins their health, all to ensure that Democrats support war and adore the US intelligence community.
They do this for a reason, of course. The Yellow Vests protests in France have continued unabated for their ninth consecutive week, a decentralized populist uprising resulting from ordinary French citizens losing trust in their institutions and the official narratives which uphold them. The social engineers responsible for controlling the populace of the greatest military power on the planet are watching France closely, and understand deeply what is at stake should they fail to control the narrative and herd ordinary Americans into supporting US government institutions. Right now they’ve got Republicans cheering on the White House and Democrats cheering on the US intelligence community, but that could all change should something happen which causes them to lose control over the thoughts that Americans think about their rulers.
Propaganda is the single most overlooked and under-appreciated aspect of human society. The ability of those in power to manipulate the ways ordinary people think, act and vote has allowed for an inverted totalitarianism which turns the citizenry into their own prison wardens, allowing those with real power to continue doing as they please unhindered by the interests of the common man.
The only thing that will lead to real change is the people losing trust in corrupt institutions and rising like lions against them. That gets increasingly likely as those institutions lose control of the narrative, and with trust in the mass media at an all-time low, populist uprisings restoring power to the people in France, and media corporations acting increasingly weird and insecure, that looks more and more likely by the day.
InformationClearing House bracht gisteren een artikel over de plannen van de VS met Latijns-Amerika, van belang nu het er toch op lijkt dat de VS aanzienlijke troepenverminderingen zal doorvoeren in het Midden-Oosten.
Thierry Mason, de schrijver van het artikel gaat uitvoerig in op de bestaande status quo in Latijns-Amerika, waar bijvoorbeeld Venezuela al tijden in de schijnwerpers staat. De VS is al jaren bezig met een economische oorlogsvoering tegen Venezuela, waarbij o.a. de VS winkelketens voor levensmiddelen al een aantal jaren geleden onder druk werden gezet door de Obama administratie hun winkels en magazijnen in Venezuela niet langer te bevoorraden……
Deze smerige ‘tactiek’ heeft deels gewerkt, de middenstand en de hogere klasse gooiden de kont tegen de krib en met uiterst gewelddadige demonstraties probeerde men Maduro tot aftreden te dwingen en zoals we weten is dit niet gelukt. Men gaf de regering Maduro de schuld van dat geweld, echter uit beelden bleek dat veel demonstranten gewapend waren en op de politie schoten, naar verluid ging het hier om door de VS aangevoerde terroristen…..
Bolton heeft Venezuela, Cuba* en Nicaragua aangewezen als as van het kwaad in Latijns-Amerika en heeft gesteld dat de VS daar wil ingrijpen, ofwel er staan weer nieuwe illegale oorlogen van de VS op stapel….. De NAVO heeft in opdracht van haar bevelhebber, de VS Columbia toegelaten als lid van deze ‘Noord Atlantische Verdragsorganisatie…..’ (ha! ha! ha! ha!) Intussen schijnt terreurorganisatie NAVO twee militaire bases te hebben in dat land, dicht op de grens met o.a. Venezuela…….
Voorts heeft de VS landen als Brazilië in de zak (dat overigens onder fascist Bolsonaro nauw samenwerkt met terreurstaat Israël). Guyana (eerder Brits-Guiana genoemd) een ander buurland van Venezuela, wordt zoals de voormalige naam al zegt in feite door Groot-Brittannië gecontroleerd en bestuurd, GB ook al geen vriend van Venezuela, om het maar zachtjes uit te drukken…….. En dan beste bezoeker is daar… Nederland dat een dikke vinger in de Antilliaanse pap heeft, waar de Nederlandse marine in het gebied van de Antilliaanse eilanden (relatief dicht op Venezuela) nauw samenwerkt met de VS, zogenaamd alleen tegen drugssmokkelaars, echter je hoeft geen universitaire graad te hebben om te begrijpen dat deze samenwerking veel verder gaat dan het tegengaan van drugssmokkel…..
Na 13.00 u. vanmiddag kwam WDR nog eens met een aantal leugens over Maduro, dit n.a.v. de inauguratie van Maduro voor zijn tweede termijn als president. Zo werd gesteld dat het grootste deel van de Venezolaanse bevolking tegen Maduro is, dit is een grove leugen, de meerderheid staat wel degelijk achter Maduro, t.w. de grote onderlaag van die bevolking……. Uiteraard werd weer gesteld dat Maduro een desastreus economisch beleid voert, met geen woord werd over de economische oorlog van de VS tegen dat land gesproken, waardoor bijvoorbeeld zelfs medicijnen moeilijk of niet te krijgen zijn, het blokkeren van dergelijke importen is zonder meer een ernstige oorlogsmisdaad……

Opvallend ook het bericht dat de zoon van de Surinaamse president Bouterse niet werd gearresteerd vanwege drugssmokkel, maar vanwege zijn poging het Libanese Hezbollah te introduceren in Suriname….. Dino Bouterse werd in 2013 ondanks zijn diplomatieke paspoort in Panama (dat onder controle van de VS staat) gearresteerd (!!) en uitgeleverd aan de VS waar hij werd veroordeeld tot 16 jaar cel……
The Terrible Forthcoming Destruction of the “Caribbean Basin”
President Trump has announced the withdrawal of US combat troops from the « Greater Middle East », but the Pentagon is still pursuing the implementation of the Rumsfeld-Cebrowski plan. This time the aim is to destroy the States of the “Caribbean Basin “. This is nothing like the overthrow of pro-Soviet regimes, as in the 1970’s, but the destruction of all regional State structures, without consideration for friends or political enemies. Thierry Meyssan observes the preparations for this new series of wars.

January 10, 2019 “Information Clearing House” – In a series of previous articles, we presented the SouthCom plan to provoke wars between the Latin-American nations in order to destroy the structures of all the States in the « Caribbean Basin » [1]. Preparations for wars of this magnitude, intended to follow on from the conflicts in the « Greater Middle East » according to the Rumsfeld-Cebrowski strategy, requires a decade [2]. After the period of economic destabilisation [3] and that of military preparation, the actual operation should begin in the years to come by an attack on Venezuela by Brazil (supported by Israël), Colombia (an ally of the United States) and Guyana (in other words, the United Kingdom). It will be followed by others, beginning with Cuba and Nicaragua (the « troïka of tyranny » according to John Bolton). However, the original plan may be modified, particularly because of the return of the imperial ambitions of the United Kingdom [4] which may influence the Pentagon. This is where we are now :
The evolution of Venezuela
Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez had developed relations with the « Greater Middle East » on an ideological basis. He had in particular grown closer to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Syrian President Bachar el-Assad. Together, they had imagined the possibility of founding an intergovernmental organisation, the « Free Allies Movement », on the model of the « Non-Aligned Movement », which was paralysed by the alignment with the United States, over time, of certain of its members [5].
Although Nicolas Maduro adopted the same language as Hugo Chávez, he chose a very different foreign policy. It is true that he continued the rapprochement with Russia and, in his turn welcomed Russian bombers to Venezuela. He signed a contract to import 600,000 tonnes of wheat in order to deal with starvation in his country. Above all, he prepared to receive six billion dollars of investments, including five in the oil sector. Russian engineers took over the posts which were intended for Venezuelan workers but which they had abandoned.
Nicolas Maduro reorganised the alliances of his country on new foundations. He wove close links with Turkey, which is a member of NATO and whose army presently occupies Northern Syria. Maduro went to Istanbul on four occasions and Erdoğan went once to Caracas. Switzerland was an ally of Hugo Chávez, and had advised him for the composition of his Constitution. Fearing that he would be unable to refine his country’s gold in Switzerland, Nicolas Maduro looked to Turkey, which transformed the raw material into bullion. In the past, this gold had remained in Swiss banks as a guarantee for oil contracts. From now on, the liquid assets were transferred to Turkey, while the newly treated gold returned to Venezuela. This orientation may be interpreted as being no longer founded on ideology, but on interest. Everything depends on who benefits. Simultaneously, Venezuela became the target of a destabilisation campaign which began with the guarimbas demonstrations, continued with the attempted coup d’etat on 12 February 2015 (« Operation Jericho »), then by a series of attacks on the national currency, and organised emigration. In this context, Turkey offered Venezuela the possibility of avoiding US sanctions. The exchanges between the two countries multiplied fifteen-fold in 2018. Whatever the evolution of the Venezuelan régime, nothing can justify what is being prepared against its population.
Coordination of logistical means
From 31 July to 12 August 2017, SouthCom organise a vast exercise with more than 3,000 men from 25 allied states, including France and the United Kingdom. The goal was to prepare a swift landing for troops in Venezuela [6].
Colombia
Colombia is a state, but not a nation. Its population lives geographically separate according to social class, with enormous differences in the quality of life. Almost no Colombian has ever spent time in a neighbourhood attributed to another social class than their own. This strict separation has made possible the multiplication of paramilitary forces and consequently armed interior conflicts which have caused more than 220,000 victims in thirty years. In power since August 2018, President Iván Duque has challenged the fragile peace concluded with the FARC by his predecessor, Juan Manuel Santos – but not with the ELN. He has not dismissed the option of a military intervention against Venezuela. According to Nicolas Maduro, the United States are currently training 734 mercenaries in a training camp situated in Tona with a view to carrying out a false flag operation intended to spark a war with Venezuela. Taking into account the sociological particularity of Colombia, it is impossible to determine with certainty whether or not the training camp is controlled by Bogota.
Guyana
In the 19th century, the colonial powers agreed to a frontier between British Guyana (presently Guyana) and Dutch Guyana (presently Surinam). but no text has ever defined the frontier between the British zone and the Spanish zone (presently Venezuela). Consequently, Guyana administrates 160,000 km2 of forest which is still a source of dispute with its larger neighbour. By virtue of the Geneva agreement of 17 February 1966, the two states deferred to the Secretary General of the UNO (at that time the Burmese U Thant). Nothing has changed since then – Guyana has proposed to bring the case before the UNO** Permanent Court of Arbitration, while Venezuela prefers direct negotiations. This territorial dispute does not seem particularly urgent, because the contested area is an uninhabited forest which was believed to be without value – however, it is a huge area which represents two thirds of Guyana. The Geneva agreement has been violated 15 times by Guyana, which specifically authorised the exploitation of a gold mine. Above all, the stakes were raised in 2015 with the discovery by ExxonMobil of oil deposits in the Atlantic Ocean, particularly in the territorial waters of the contested zone. The population of Guyana is composed of 40 % Indians, 30 % Africans, 20 % mixed race and 10 % American Indians. The Indians are a strong presence in the civil services and the Africans in the army.
On 21 December, a vote of no confidence was lodged against the government of President David Granger, a pro-British, anti-Venezuelan General, in power since 2015. To everyone’s surprise, a deputy, Charrandas Persaud, voted against his own party, and in an atmosphere of indescribable chaos, provoked the fall of the government which had only a one-vote majority. Since then, the country is in a state of great instability – we do not know whether President Granger, who is presently undergoing chemotherapy, will be able to handle current affairs, while Charrandas Persaud left Parliament with an escort, via a back door, and has fled to Canada. On 22 December 2018, in the absence of a government, the Ramform Tethys (under the flag of the Bahamas) and the Delta Monarch (Trinidad and Tobago) undertook submarine explorations in the contested zone on behalf of Exxon-Mobil. Considering that this intrusion violated the Geneva agreement, the Venezuelan army chased the two ships away. The Guyanese Minister for Foreign Affairs, working with current affairs, declared it a hostile act. The United Kingdom Minister for Defense, Gavin Williamson, declared to the Sunday Telegraph on 30 December 2018 that the Crown was putting an end to decolonisation, which had been Whitehall’s doctrine since the Suez affair in 1956. London is preparing to open a new military base in the Caribbean (for the moment the UK has bases only in Gibraltar, Cyprus, Diego Garcia and on the Falkland islands). The new base could be situated on Montserrat (West Indies), or more probably in Guyana, and should be operational in 2022 [7]. Guyana is a neighbour of Surinam (Dutch Guyana). Its President, Desi Bouterse, is wanted in Europe for drug trafficking – an affair which pre-dated his election. But his son, Dino, was arrested in Panama in 2013, despite the fact that he entered that country under a diplomatic passport. He was extradited to the United States where he was sentenced to 16 years of prison for drug trafficking – in reality because he was setting up the Lebanese Hezbollah in Surinam.

Mereilles had also presided the Committee for the preparation of the Olympic Games, calling on Tsahal to coordinate the Brazilian army and police, thus guaranteeing the security of the Games. Simultaneously controlling the Central Bank, the army and the police of Brazil, Israël had no difficulty in supporting the popular movement of dissatisfaction in the face of the incompetence of the Workers’ Party. Believing – without any solid proof – that Presidente Dilma Rousseff had fudged the public accounts in the context of the Petrobras scandal, the parliamentarians impeached her in August 2016.
During the Presidential election of 2018, candidate Jair Bolsonaro went to Israël to be baptised in the waters of the Jordan, and consequently obtained a massive percentage of the evangelical vote. He was elected with General Hamilton Mourão as his Vice-President. During the period of transition, Mourão declared that Brazil should prepare to send men to Venezuela as a « peace force » once President Maduro had been overthrown – comments which constitute a barely-disguised threat which President Bolsonaro attempted to downplay.
In an interview on 3 January 2019, on the TV channel SBT, President Bolsonaro spoke of negotiations with the Pentagon concerning the possibility of creating a US military base in Brazil. This declaration raised powerful opposition within the armed forces, for whom their country is capable of defending itself without assistance.

During his investiture on 2 January 2019, the new President welcomed Israëli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. This was the first time that an Israëli personality of this importance had been to Brazil. On this occasion, President Bolsonaro announced the coming transfer of the Brazilian embassy from Tel-Aviv to Jerusalem. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who also went to the investiture, where he met Peruvian Minister for Foreign Affairs Néstor Popolizio, announced with President Bolsonaro his intention to fight with him against the « authoritarian régimes » of Venezuela and Cuba. Returning to the United States, he stopped over in Bogota to meet with Colombian President Iván Duque. The two men agreed to work for the diplomatic isolation of Venezuela. On 4 January 2019, the 14 States of the Lima Group (including Brazil, Colombia and Guyana) met to agree that Nicolas Maduro’s new mandate, which begins on 10 January, is « illegitimate » [8]. This communiqué has not been signed by Mexico. BlackAgenda Report plaatste gisteren een boekbespreking van Danny Haiphong over een nieuw boek van Dan Kovalik, schrijver, arbeids- en mensenrechtenadvocaat, maar vooral een anti-imperialist. In zijn derde boek ‘The Plot to Control the World: How the US Spent Billions to Change the Outcome of Elections Around the World’, gaat Kovalik in op het beïnvloeden door de VS van verkiezingen elders, een zaak die de VS belastingbetaler al vele miljarden heeft gekost*. Terwijl de VS nu juist Rusland beschuldigt van dergelijk gedrag (daarover zo meer)……

Mochten de resultaten van dergelijke smerige beïnvloeding door de VS niet naar wens zijn, kan je er bijna zeker van zijn, dat de VS een staatsgreep in een dergelijk land zal organiseren, het liefst via een opstand, zodat men haar smerige machinaties kan legitimeren……. Veelal gebeurt dit door eerst een ‘stille’ economische oorlog tegen zo’n land te beginnen (door sterke druk uit te oefenen op grote bedrijven die bijvoorbeeld winkelketens in zo’n land hebben en hen te dwingen de winkels niet langer te bevoorraden, zie wat dit betreft Venezuela….), ‘stil’ daar de VS dit uiteraard niet aan de grote klok hangt, gevolg is dan wel dat de bevolking de straat op zal gaan uit ontevredenheid over de persoonlijke (financiële) omstandigheden….. Wat betreft directe staatsgrepen: neem Honduras in 2009, destijds hebben Hillary Clinton en de CIA daar een staatsgreep georganiseerd tegen de democratisch gekozen linkse regering…… Een staatsgreep die intussen aan duizenden het leven heeft gekost, daarnaast zijn er veel Hondurezen verdwenen, ofwel ook vermoord door de Junta die de VS daar parachuteerde….. Voorts zijn een enorm aantal mensen op de vlucht geslagen, o.a. richting VS (zoals het grootste deel van de Karavaan die al op weg was naar de VS, vóór de midterm verkiezingen in dat middels een genocide gestolen land…….)
Kovalik noemt ook Rusland als een land waar de VS de verkiezing van de corrupte alcoholverslaafde Jeltsin in 1996 veiligstelde met een slordige miljard dollar….. Je zou zelfs kunnen stellen dat de VS mede verantwoordelijk is voor de ‘oligarchen’ die Rusland destijds hebben leeggestolen…..
Hoe durven politici in de VS en de rest van het westen, alsmede de reguliere massamedia in het westen, nog met de vieze vingers naar Rusland te wijzen als grote manipulator van de VS presidentsverkiezingen, terwijl er geen enkel bewijs werd en wordt geleverd voor deze leugen en de VS zelf overal waar het haar uitkomt opstanden (zoals gezegd gevoed met een stille economische oorlog), staatsgrepen en illegale oorlogen organiseert, waar overigens honderden meters aan dossiers met bewijzen voor zijn te vinden, neem alleen al WikiLeaks en dan m.n. de Vault 7 en 8 documenten op deze (echte) klokkenluiderswebsite……..

(BAR) — The U.S. military state overthrows democratically-elected governments that it deems to be a threat to corporate interests.

Dan Kovalik is a labor and human rights lawyer, but most of all he is an anti-imperialist and an author of three books. Kovalik’s first two books tackled the specific US war drives against Russia and Iran. His third installment, The Plot to Control the World: How the US Spent Billions to Change the Outcome of Elections Around the World, addresses the broad scope of US election meddling abroad. The book provides much needed political and ideological life support to an anti-war movement in the U.S that has been rendered nearly invisible to the naked eye.
The Plot to Control the World is as detailed in its critique of U.S. imperialism as it is concise. In just over 160 pages, Kovalik manages to analyze the various ways that the U.S. political and military apparatus interferes in the affairs of nations abroad to achieve global hegemony. He wastes no time in exposing the devastating lie that is American exceptionalism, beginning appropriately with the U.S. imperialist occupations of Haiti and the Philippines at the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th. The U.S. would murder millions of Filipinos and send both nations into a spiral of violence, instability, and poverty that continues to this day. As Kovalik explains regarding Haiti, “While the specific, claimed justifications for [U.S.] intervention changed over time- e.g., opposing the end of slavery, enforcing the Monroe Doctrine, fighting Communism, fighting drugs, restoring law and order — the fact is that the interventions never stopped and the results for the Haitian people have been invariably disastrous.”

US expansionism has relied upon the ideology of American exceptionalism to silence criticism and weaken anti-war forces in the United States. American exceptionalism claims that the U.S. is a force for good in the world and completely justified in its wars of conquest draped in the cover of spreading “democracy and freedom” around the world. Kovalik challenges American exceptionalism by showing readers just how much damage that US expansionism and militarism has caused for nations and peoples in every region of the planet.Russia, Honduras, Guatemala, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Vietnam and many other nations have seen their societies devastated by U.S. “election meddling.” In Honduras, for example, a U.S.-backed coup of left-wing President Manuel Zelaya in 2009 made the nation one of the most dangerous places in the world to be a journalist, indigenous person, or trade-union/environmental activist. Thousands of Hondurans have been displaced, disappeared, or assassinated since the coup.
Another important aspect of The Plot to Control the World is its exposure of U.S hypocrisy surrounding the subject of “election meddling.” Since the end of the 2016 Presidential elections, the U.S. military, political, and media branches of the imperialist state have accused Russia of virtually implanting Donald Trump into the Oval office. The U.S. public has been fed a steady dose of anti-Russia talking points in an apparent effort on the part of the elites to beat the drums of war with the nuclear-armed state. No evidence has been presented to prove the conspiracy, as a recent National Public Radio (NPR) analysis states plainly. However, there is plenty of evidence that the United States is the most depraved and dangerous “meddler” in the affairs of other nations that history has ever known.

Just ask the much-vaunted Russians. Kovalik devotes an entire chapter to the 1996 Presidential election in Russia that re-elected the wildly unpopular Boris Yeltsin. The fall of the Soviet Union in 1991 began an era of “shock therapy” in the newly erected Russian Federation, a euphemism for the wholesale theft and transfer of socialized wealth into the hands of oligarchs and multinational corporations. Millions would perish in Russia from an early death due to the sudden loss of healthcare, housing, jobs, and other basic services. In 1996, President Bill Clinton ensured that Yeltsin maintained his near total grip on state power in Russia by providing the Russian President with a team of U.S. political consultants and over a billion dollars’ worth of IMF monies directly to the campaign. U.S. political and monetary support allowed Yeltsin to rig the election in his favor despite his dwindling popularity. Kovalik shows that if anyone should worry about election meddling, it should be the people of Russia and not the US elites that control Washington.
The Plot to Control the World takes readers into the Democratic Republic of Congo, where the CIA’s coup of revolutionary Patrice Lumumba continues to haunt the resource rich nation in the form of endless US-backed genocide. It travels to Guatemala, where the CIA overthrow of Jacobo Arbenz led to a U.S.-backed slaughter of a quarter million Guatemalans under the auspices of several military dictatorships. Kovalik shows us that the election of the fascistic Jair Bolsonaro in Brazil was no aberration, as the U.S. was primarily responsible for the rise in fascism in Brazil through its direct role in placing the nation under the control of a military dictatorship in 1964. The military dictatorship predated the CIA’s ouster of Chile’s Salvador Allende in 1973, which handed the once socialist state to Augusto Pinochet’s murderous and repressive leadership.

The entire skeleton of the U.S. military state is on full display in The Plot to Control the World. The U.S. military state utilizes an array of tools to overthrow democratically-elected governments that it deems to be a threat to corporate interests. These tools include the U.S. intelligence agencies, so-called Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs) such as the National Endowment for Democracy, and the various branches of the military itself, to name a few. Regardless of the tools employed, the mission is always the same: to destabilize independent nations that refuses to bow down to the dictates of U.S. imperialism. Thus, while Nicaragua, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Vietnam may possess unique histories, their economic and political development has been shaped by the destructive interference of the United States.
Dan Kovalik is not likely to be reviewed in the New York Timesor other corporate outlets. That’s because Kovalik unapologetically speaks out against U.S. empire and all that upholds it. In doing so, Kovalik’s The Plot to Control the World walks in the footsteps of anti-imperialists such as Michael Parenti and William Blum. Blum, a former State Department employee, spent his post-State Department life providing humanity with knowledge about how US imperialism operates on the global stage. The New York Times wasted no time in slandering Blum in their obituary . This showed the great lengths that the ruling elites will go to discredit, defame, and condemn critics of the military industrial complex and how important it is for those who oppose war let go of any expectation that the corporate media will cover Kovalik’s work or anyone else who speaks out against war.

With that said, one of the reasons that the left in the U.S. is so weak is because it has been numerically and politically isolated by the lies of the Empire. Despite the ruthlessness of the austerity and incarceration regimes, many Americans continue to be convinced that the U.S. is the most exceptional nation in the world and do not balk when its military wages wars abroad at the expense of U.S. tax dollars and civilian lives. U.S. imperialism has made sure that Americans feel that they are special colonizers who see the victims of the U.S. military state as savages worthy of slaughter. The Plot to Control the World is based on a different premise: internationalism. The book links the struggle against US imperialism to the needs of the oppressed and working class living in the heart of empire, making it an essential read for those who are sick and tired of the prevailing narrative of American exceptionalism and want to be armed with knowledge that is essential toward changing it.

De Jemenitische ‘oorlogsheer’ Abu Al-Abbas, eerder fondsenwerver voor Al Qaida, een man die men verdenkt lid te zijn geweest van IS (ISIS), wordt van wapens voorzien door de Verenigde Arabische (terreur) Emiraten, ofwel : VAE (je weet wel, dictaturen waarmee ons koningshuis goede banden onderhoudt…)….
Al-Abbas is één van de bondgenoten van de VS, waar Middle East Monitor (MEMO) stelt dat de VS hiermee een vreemde bondgenoot is, daar hij eerder op de zwarte lijst van de VS stond, een lijst met terroristen en terreurgroepen……. Ik begrijp wel dat MEMO niet al te negatief wil berichten over de VS, daar je als mediaorgaan uit het Midden-Oosten niet de woede van de VS op de hals wilt halen, maar men weet bij MEMO dondersgoed dat de VS ondanks haar ‘oorlog tegen terreur’, eerder al is betrapt op het bewapenen van IS en andere terreurgroepen….. Sterker nog: de VS stond aan de wieg van IS, niet in de laatste plaats om deze terreurgroep te gebruiken tegen regimes die de VS niet welgevallig zijn, zoals het bewind van Khadaffi in Libië en het Assad bewind in Syrië…
De Washington Post (WaPo) wijst op de vreemde bondgenootschappen van alle strijdende partijen in Jemen, waar de Post uiteraard ook doelt op ‘het bondgenootschap’ tussen de Houthi rebellen en Iran, terwijl daar tot nu toe niet één steekhoudend bewijs voor kon worden geleverd (dit terwijl deze fantasie al meer dan 3 jaar oud is!)….. Uiteraard is MEMO een soennitische organisatie, dat zal dan ook wel de reden zijn dat men zich daar van de domme houdt en spreekt over vreemde bondgenootschappen, terwijl deze in het geheel niet vreemd zijn….
Wat is er vreemd aan de VS dat terreurgroepen en de Saoedische terreurcoalitie steunt? Een coalitie die met hulp van de VS en Groot-Brittannië een genocide uitvoert op de sjiitische bevolking van Jemen….. Volgens zeggen zouden er al 85.000 Jemenitische kinderen het slachtoffer zijn geworden van deze genocide, waar nu zelfs de levens van 2 miljoen kinderen groot gevaar lopen door die genocide, (niet alleen door het bombarderen van diverse burgerdoelen, van huizenblokken tot ziekenhuizen, maar deze genocide wordt ook gevoed door honger, cholera en difterie….) In totaal zouden nu 20 miljoen mensen het gevaar lopen het leven te verliezen…….
Het is vreemd dat men bij de reguliere media nog steeds de VS de handen boven het hoofd houdt, terwijl men daar toch ook moet weten dat zonder de VS er geen genocide zou bestaan in Jemen…… Je kan zelfs stellen dat zeker de reguliere westerse massamedia mede verantwoordelijk zijn voor die genocide, dit vanwege de gekleurde pro-VS houding van deze media, waar men zonder enig bewijs Iran keer op keer durft aan te merken als één van de strijdende partijen in Jemen en men de situatie die in dat land is ontstaan niet bij de naam durft te noemen: een ‘volwaardige’ genocide…….
IS en Al Qaida kregen onderdak in Jemen van de vorige president Al-Hadi, waar deze groepen ook werden gebruikt door de terreurgroepen van Al-Abbas…… Deze soennitische terreurgroepen gingen tekeer tegen de sjiieten in Jemen, zelfs moskeeën waren niet veilig voor dit geteisem…… Het voorgaande was dan ook de reden voor de Houthi’s om in te grijpen en op te trekken tegen Al-Hadi, waarna deze aftrad en vluchtte naar Saoedi-Arabië….. Deze reli-fascistische terreurstaat dwong Al-Hadi zijn presidentschap weer op te pakken, zodat hij S-A te hulp kon roepen tegen de sjiitische Houthi’s……. De rest is geschiedenis, een geschiedenis die resulteerde in de aangehaalde genocide op de sjiitische bevolking van Jemen…….
Zoals al vaak op deze plek gevraagd: hoe is het mogelijk dat de wereld alweer wegkijkt terwijl er een genocide gaande is in Jemen..?? Na Rwanda durfde het westen te stellen dat dit de laatste keer zou zijn geweest dat de wereld wegkijkt terwijl er een genocide wordt uitgevoerd……

(MEMO) — A Yemeni warlord who has also been a fundraiser for Al-Qaeda and at one point is believed to have belonged to Daesh is being armed by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) the Washington Post has discovered. In a startling interview, Abu Al-Abbas revealed that he has received millions of dollars in weapons and financial support for his fighters from the UAE, which is one of Washington’s closest Middle East allies, despite the fact that he was once a member of militant groups on the US terrorist list.

“The coalition is still supporting me,” he claimed, but he denied that he is a terrorist. “If I really was a terrorist, they would have taken me in for questioning.”
The Post points out that Al-Abbas’s case underscores the awkward alliances and odd bedfellows that are found on all sides in Yemen’s four-year war. It also raises questions about the UAE’s conduct in the conflict, highlighting its objectionable alliance as well as its part in the humanitarian disaster unfolding in the southern Arabia Peninsula.
Along with its more powerful Gulf neighbor Saudi Arabia, the UAE has been involved in a vicious military campaign in Yemen since 2015. The war is seen widely as a disaster which has created one of the worst humanitarian crises since the Second World War, with an estimated 85,000 Yemeni children having died and a further 20 million facing starvation. The Gulf coalition is seeking to defeat the northern Yemeni rebels known as Houthis and restore the country’s government-in-exile. The deadly conflict has been supported by the US, which assists it Gulf allies with intelligence-gathering, logistical support and the sale of billions of dollars’ worth of weapons and equipment.
Officials cited by the Post spoke on condition of anonymity in order to discuss sensitive matters freely. They said that the UAE “preferred to work with” some Islamic fundamentalists who serve as a “counterweight” to its enemies in the south. Under such circumstances, the official acknowledged, “It’s very easy for Al-Qaeda to insinuate itself into the mix.”
Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, or AQAP as the Yemeni affiliate is known, was responsible for sending parcel bombs on flights into the United States in 2010 and a failed plot to bomb an airliner over Detroit on Christmas Day 2009, among other attacks against Western targets. Destroying the group is one of America’s major goals in the war on terror.
Ahmed Fadhil Abu Suraima, who is the deputy governor of the central province of Bayda in Yemen, commented on the alliance with both Al-Qaeda and Daesh fighters in Yemen. He questioned the UAE’s motive. “They try to make it appear in the media that they are with the United States and they are fighting against Al-Qaeda and the Islamic State,” he insisted. The implication is that the UAE is, in fact, neither one nor the other.
According to Nicholas Heras, a Middle East expert at the Centre for a New American Security (CNAS), a Washington-based think tank, someone like Al-Abbas “has become a type of indispensable man for the UAE in Yemen.”
While Al-Abbas denies the terrorism allegations, saying his opponents in Taiz fed the US authorities with false intelligence, he still admits that his militia fought alongside Al-Qaeda and Daesh fighters. Some militants, he explained, operated in areas that he controlled but, “We didn’t approve of their ideology.” His men, he added, later pushed them out.

Kan best kloppen, immers de ommezwaai van Trump was wel zeer plots, zonder zelfs een verkiezing voor de deur!* Deze stap, ‘zéééér toevallig’, op het moment dat Turkije klaar is met de troepenopbouw om Syrisch grondgebied binnen te vallen. Kan me zelfs voorstellen dat Trump het wel prima vindt als Erdogan die ‘vieze Koerden’ de zoveelste bloedige les leert……. Zeker gezien het volgende: ‘hoge militairen’ (korporaal eerste klasse of zo) hebben bevestigd dat de VS ook haar luchtmacht terug zal trekken…… Erdogan zei verder nog dat Trump hem had gevraagd of Turkije groepen als IS kan bestrijden en uiteraard heeft Erdogan die vraag met een bevestiging beantwoord….. ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! Tja, als je onder bestrijden verstaat het afnemen van IS olie, of het bewapenen van groepen als IS, kan je Turkije inderdaad aanwijzen als de beste partij die dit kan doen (al is de VS daar nog beter in, maar die zal zich zoals gezegd terugtrekken uit Syrië, althans als je Trump moet geloven)
Eén ding is zeker, van de VS hoeven de Koerden niets meer te verwachten, wat dat betreft was de stap van Mattis vreemd genoeg ‘een mooi gebaar’ naar de Koerden…… Ach, Mattis wil nog liever vandaag dan morgen Iran aanvallen dan morgen en aan de Koerden zal hij een broertje dood hebben…….. Laten we wat dat betreft hopen dat Trump niet wordt omgeluld door Bolton, die als ik me niet vergis Iran met kernraketten zou willen aanvallen….. Niet voor niets dat de haviken in de VS over de rooie zijn gegaan na de aankondiging van Trump de VS troepen terug te trekken uit Syrië……
Onbegrijpelijk dat andere westerse landen, voor een fiks deel NB NAVO-partners, de VS en Turkije laten begaan met de vreselijke terreur die ze begaan in landen waar ook wij en de rest van het westen niets te zoeken hebben……. Je kan dit ook de militairen voorhouden die daar illegaal opereren, zij zien toch de verschrikkingen, de vernietiging, de lijken, de vreselijke ellende onder de bevolking en ze zouden zelfs moeten kunnen bedenken dat we daar i.d.d. niets te zoeken hebben……..Dit alles en dan te bedenken dat de militaire missies eindeloos zijn en kapitalen aan belastinggeld opslokken…. Natuurlijk zijn de reguliere westerse (massa-) media een grote verantwoordelijkheid hebben van wat er allemaal is gepasseerd in Syrië, zonder correspondenten, anders dan embedded bij westerse troepen, in het land te hebben…. Als kippen zonder kop herhalen deze media de leugens van geheime diensten, het Pentagon en politici die ten koste van alles de regering Assad willen laten vallen…….. Om het voorgaande te bewerkstelligen, herhalen deze massamedia zelfs de berichten van het Syrisch Observatorium voor Mensenrechten (SOHR), terwijl dit SOHR nauwe contacten heeft met de terreurgroepen in Syrië en aantoonbaar een hele berg leugens heeft gebracht in de loop van een paar jaar….. Het SOHR dat wordt geleid door een voormalige misdadiger die zogenaamd een politiek vluchteling is, terwijl hij terechte gevangenisstraf in Syrië heeft ontlopen……. De meest belachelijke reacties zijn die wel van de reguliere (massa-) media in de VS, dezen doen het voorkomen als zou de VS met de stap van Trump, Syrië weggeven aan Assad, Rusland en Iran……. Terwijl de VS volkomen illegaal opereert boven en op Syrische bodem en Syrië allesbehalve bezit is van deze grootste terreurentiteit op onze aarde!!
Het volgende bericht komt van TurkishMinutes(weer eens wat anders dan ‘Times….’), een zeer beperkt bericht, waar geen woord van kritiek is te lezen op Erdogan, precies zoals de media zich onder een dictatuur moeten gedragen, al valt het me mee dat er niet in lovende woorden over Erdogan wordt gesproken:
Erdoğan postpones military operation east of Euphrates after Trump call
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Friday said Turkey had decided to postpone a military offensive in northern Syria against Kurdish militia after a phone call with US President Donald Trump, Sputnik Turkish service reported.
“Actually, we announced our decision to launch the operation east of the Euphrates last week,” Erdoğan said at a business meeting in İstanbul.
He told the audience Trump had asked him on the phone whether Turkey could get rid of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
“We did it before, we can do it again,” Erdoğan said he answered.
According to Erdoğan, Turkey has killed around 3,000 ISIL militants in Jarabulus, a Syrian city in Aleppo province.
US support for the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) militia in the fight against ISIL had been a complication in relations between the two NATO allies.
