In India
bestaat de angst dat de nieuwe wet ‘Citizenship Amendment Act’ (CAA)
leidt tot etnische zuivering, of zelfs tot genocide…. In India worden vluchtelingen uit Afghanistan, Pakistan en Bangladesh, die een
ander geloof hebben dan de islam, toegelaten tot het land, echter
vluchtelingen die moslim zijn worden geweigerd…… Voorts voert de
regering Modi een National Register of Citizens (NRC India) door, ofwel men gaat
alle burgers registeren. Met deze registratie moeten mensen met een
moslim achtergrond bewijzen dat ze al jaren in India wonen, daar ze
anders de wet overtreden en worden vastgezet in kampen die verdacht
veel op concentratiekampen lijken…….
Het is voor de grote arme
onderlaag bijna onmogelijk om te bewijzen dat ze al jaren in India
wonen, daar de registratie van burgers tot nu toe bijzonder slecht of
zelfs helemaal niet werkt en veel moslims die zelfs al meer dan 50
jaar in India wonen, kunnen vaak niet met officiële documenten
aantonen dat ze die jaren in India hebben gewoond…..
Als
moslims dit niet kunnen aantonen zijn ze strafbaar en wordt hen een
gevangenisstraf opgelegd……. Vanwege het gebrek aan gevangenissen
worden en zijn zoals gezegd kampen ingericht waar deze bewoners van
India worden opgesloten….. (kampen? nogmaals: concentratiekampen!!)
Zoals
gezegd: vreemd genoeg laat India wel mensen toe die andere religies
dan de islam aanhangen, zelfs al zijn ze een paar maanden geleden hun
land ontvlucht….. Je kan dan ook niet anders concluderen dat de CAA
en de registratie van burgers discriminerende instrumenten zijn om de Indiase
maatschappij te zuiveren van moslims…..
Het
Care2 team heeft een petitie opgesteld voor de Indiase premier Modi,
helaas met een paar missers, zoals het feit dat ik hiervoor beschreef
dat zelfs moslims die al decennia in India wonen alsnog met officiële
documenten moeten aantonen dat ze al jaren in dat land wonen en dat
dit voor veel moslims niet mogelijk is…..
Bij
grote protesten waar de Indiase politie en legereenheden met veel
geweld op ingaan, zijn intussen al 27 mensen om het leven
gekomen……

Under
This New Law, Muslims Are Labelled Illegal Immigrants and Are
Registered in a National Database. Many Fear This is a Precursor to
Something Very Sinister.
India’s new citizenship law, the
Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), has been a source of great unrest
since it passed through the country’s parliament and was given
official assent by President Kovind in mid-December. While Prime
Minister Narendra Modi and his party frame the law as inclusive, it
is a thinly veiled act of exclusion and discrimination. Hindus,
Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Jains and Parsees who came to India
from Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh since as far back as 2014
will be eligible for Indian citizenship. However,
Muslims fleeing these countries will not be granted the same right,
and instead will continue to be labeled as illegal immigrants.
This is a gross violation of human
rights, and a sure step towards a less democratic India.
This law directly singles out
Muslim folks as outsiders. The government has also proposed a
National Register of Citizens. National
registries have historically been tools of genocide, including the
Holocaust. These two steps ensure that the government would have
every ability to identify, deport, or detain Muslims in detention
centers already being built across the country.
The people of India have been
speaking up. Tens of thousands of citizens have defied the ban on
public assembly in order to protest, met with a brutal police
response. The number of
deaths has reached at least 27,
most of which have been young people fighting for the spirit of their
nation’s democracy.
Many of the protests have taken
place in historic areas where almost a century ago,
Mahatma Gandhi
advocated for an independent, religiously pluralistic India. It
seems only fitting, then, that Gandhi’s great-grandson Tushar Arun
Gandhi should be among the gatherers.
Tushar fears that if this law is allowed and enforced, India “will
be a fascist dictatorship” parading as a democracy.

Vorige
week vrijdag trokken zo’n 1 miljoen Irakezen in protest de straat op
en eisten daar het vertrek van VS troepen (uit hun land). Dit nadat
het parlement en de zittende regering de VS al had gevraagd te
vertrekken, waarbij leiders van de demonstratie de VS en andere westerse
landen waaronder Nederland) waarschuwden voor de consequenties als ze
niet zouden vertrekken, hetzelfde werd herhaald door de Iraakse premier Adil Abdul-Mahdi echter Pompeo, de minister van BuZa in de VS,
lachte de Iraakse premier uit in het gezicht…….
Volgens
de psychopathische massamoordenaar Pompeo is de VS in Irak om IS (=
ISIS) te verslaan en weigert botweg te vertrekken, ofwel schijt aan
de democratie die de VS zo vaak vals predikt als het weer op illegaal
oorlogspad is……. Irak is dus geen soeverein land meer, immers
gezien ook deze zaak, maakt de VS de de dienst uit in dat land…….
Het is
wel overduidelijk dat de VS nog
steeds het plan heeft om het bewind van de Iraanse president Rohani
omver te werpen, vandaar ook dat de VS sinds vorig jaar lente maar liefst
20.000 militairen extra heeft gezonden naar het Midden-Oosten, (vanwege die oorlogsplannen is het van belang dat er een aanzienlijke VS legermacht achterblijft in Iran en Syrië…)….. Een uiterst smerige politiek daar Rohani tot de
gematigde krachten behoort in Iran, met het steeds verder onder druk
zetten van Iran door de VS, krijgen de islamitische leiders in dat
land steeds meer macht….. Het was dan ook in het geheel niet in het
belang van de Trump administratie dat gematigde krachten aan het
bewind kwamen in dit sjiitische land….. De oorlogstrom moet blijven
klinken, zoals de kassa’s van de wapenindustrie, privé huurlegers en die van de geheime
diensten moeten blijven ‘rinkelen………’
Totaal
belachelijk dat de reguliere westerse media zo weinig aandacht aan
deze zaak schenken, terwijl men daar intussen een groot deel van de
versufte aandacht gebruikt voor het impeachment proces in de VS dat
tot niets zal leiden, immers de Republikeinen hebben de meerderheid
in de senaat, die gaan echt niet voor het vertrek van Trump stemmen, al helemaal niet in een verkiezingsjaar!!!
In feite
heeft de VS het Iraakse parlement buiten spel gezet en de rest van
het westen vindt het wel best…. (ook Nederland trekt haar troepen
niet terug uit Irak en steekt haar neus verder in het wespennest door een
fregat naar de Straat van Hormuz te sturen, zogenaamd een Frans
initiatief, maar reken gerust als er stront aan de knikker komt,
Nederland meedoet aan de zoveelste illegale oorlog van de VS…….
Ron Paul stelt volkomen terecht in zijn schrijven dat je hieronder vindt en dat werd gepubliceerd op Money and Markets, dat er geluisterd moet worden naar een miljoen demonstranten en dat de troepen naar huis moeten. Voorts wijst hij op het feit dat een VS generaal heeft gesteld dat momenteel de sjiitische milities gevaarlijker zijn voor de VS dan IS….. Daar zou ik aan toe willen voegen dat de VS in het verleden IS meerdere keren heeft geholpen aan wapens, munitie (inclusief ‘schouderraketten’) en rollend oorlogstuig…….

Paul: Bring Home the Troops — a Million Iraqis Asked Us to Leave.
We Should Listen
You wouldn’t know it
from U.S. mainstream media reporting, but on Friday an estimated
million Iraqis took to the streets to protest the continued U.S.
military presence in their country. What little mainstream media
coverage the protest received all reported the number of protesters
as far less than actually turned out. The Beltway elites are
determined that Americans not know or understand just how much our
presence in Iraq is not wanted.
The protesters were
largely supporters of nationalist Shi’ite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr,
who opposes both U.S. and Iranian presence in Iraq. Protesters held
signs demanding that the U.S. military leave Iraq and protest leaders
warned of consequences unless the U.S. listen to the Iraqi people.
After President
(Donald) Trump’s illegal and foolish assassination
of Iranian general Soleimani on Iraqi soil early this month, the
Iraqi parliament voted unanimously to cancel the agreement under
which the U.S. military remains in Iraq. But when the Iraqi prime
minister called up Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to request a
timetable for a U.S. withdrawal, Pompeo laughed in his face.
The U.S. government
answered the Iraqi parliament’s vote with a statement that the U.S.
military is a “force for good” in the Middle East and that
because of the continuing fight against ISIS U.S. troops will remain,
even where they are not wanted.
How many billions of
dollars have we sent to Iraq to help them build their democracy? Yet
as soon as a decision of Iraq’s elected parliament goes against
Washington’s wishes, the U.S. government is no longer so interested
in democracy. Do they think the Iraqis don’t notice this
double-dealing?
The pressure for the
U.S. to leave Iraq has been building within the country, but the U.S.
government and mainstream media is completely — and dangerously —
ignoring this sentiment. It’s one thing to push the neocon
propaganda that Iraqis and Iranians would be celebrating in the
streets after last month’s U.S. assassination of Iranian general
Soleimani, who was the chief strategist for the anti-ISIS operation
over the past five years. It’s a completely different thing to
believe the propaganda, especially as more than a million Iranians
mourned the popular military leader.
The Friday protesters
demanded that all U.S. bases in Iraq be closed, all security
agreements with the U.S. and with U.S. security companies be ended,
and a schedule for the exit of all U.S. forces be announced. Sadr
announced that the resistance to the U.S. troop presence in Iraq will
halt temporarily if an orderly departure is announced and
implemented. Otherwise, he said, the resistance to U.S. troops would
be activated.
A million Iraqi
protesters chanted “no, no to occupation.” The Iraqi parliament
voted for us to leave. The Iraqi prime minister asked us to leave.
Maj. Gen. Alex Grynkewich, the U.S. deputy commander in Iraq and
Syria, said last week that US.. troops in Iraq are more threatened by
Shi’ite militias than ISIS.
So, before more U.S.
troops die for nothing in Iraq, why don’t we listen to the Iraqi
people and just come home? Let the people of the Middle East solve
their own problems and let’s solve our problems at home.

Vanmorgen op BNR (rond 8.43 u.) het bericht dat de KLM weer over het oorlogsgebied Iran – Irak vliegt. Een expertgroep beoordeelt van dag tot dag of het veilig is om over dit gebied te vliegen……. De partner van de KLM, Air France, vliegt als andere luchtvaartmaatschappijen niet over dit gebied…….
Blijkbaar heeft de KLM niets geleerd van het vlucht MH17 neerhalen, toen men van de luchtvaartautoriteiten toestemming kreeg om te vliegen, ondanks dat alle Oekraïense radarposten waren uitgeschakeld en het vliegtuig een iets andere route moest nemen dan men gewend was, een route recht over het oostelijke Oekraïense oorlogsgebied (beide zaken doet men normaal gesproken nooit!)…….
De luchtmacht en de marine van de VS hebben een technologie ontwikkeld waarmee radar gefopt kan worden, dus ofwel men ziet niets of men ziet een vliegtuig dat er niet is….. The Guardian heeft bericht dat de VS al langer bezig is met de ontwikkeling van een technologie waarmee op afstand de beschikbare Iraanse raketten kunnen worden gemanipuleerd…… Moch e.e.a. hebben plaatsgevonden is het vrijwel zeker dat de VS erachter zit, het zou dan de zoveelste false flag operatie zijn van deze wereldwijd verreweg grootste terreurentiteit…….. (de VS heeft vorig jaar al erkend dat de CIA al jaren bezig is de boel te verstoren in Iran en op zo’n manier probeert een staatsgreep te forceren……)

Herald Tribune‘) dat de Iraanse luchtverdediging ten tijde van het neerhalen van vlucht PS752 met opzet werd gestoord…. Verder schrijft Giraldi o.a. over de videoopnames die ‘s morgens vroeg op afstand werden gemaakt, ‘toevallig precies op het goede moment’ en dan ook nog ‘geheel toevallig’ op het deel van de lucht gericht waar te zien is dat vlucht 752 wordt getroffen…. Shot It Down But There May Be More to the Story

“Information
Clearing House”
– The claim that Major General Qassem Soleimani was a “terrorist”
on a mission to carry out an “imminent” attack that would kill
hundreds of Americans turned out to be a lie, so why should one
believe anything else relating to recent developments in Iran and
Iraq? To be sure, Ukraine International Airlines Flight 752 departing
from Tehran’s Imam Khomeini International Airport on the morning of January 8th
with 176 passengers and crew on board was shot down by Iranian air
defenses, something which the government of the Islamic Republic has
admitted, but there just might be considerably more to the
story involving cyberwarfare carried out by the U.S. and possibly
Israeli governments.
To be sure, the
Iranian air defenses were on high alert fearing an American attack in
the wake of the U.S. government’s assassination
of Soleimani on January 3rd
followed by a missile strike from Iran directed against two U.S.
bases in Iraq. In spite of the tension and the escalation, the
Iranian government did not shut down the country’s airspace.
Civilian passenger flights were still departing and arriving in
Tehran, almost certainly an error in judgment on the part of the
airport authorities. Inexplicably, civilian aircraft continued to
take off and land even after Flight 752 was shot down.
Fifty-seven of the
passengers on the flight were Canadians of Iranian descent, leading
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to point the finger both at the Iranian
government for its carelessness and also at Washington, observing
angrily that the Trump Administration had deliberately
and recklessly sought to “escalate tensions” with Iran
through an attack near Baghdad Airport, heedless of the impact on
travelers and other civilians in the region.
What seems to have
been a case of bad judgements and human error does, however, include
some elements that have yet to be explained. The Iranian missile
operator reportedly experienced considerable “jamming” and the
planes transponder switched
off and stopped transmitting several
minutes before the missiles were
launched. There were also problems with the
communication network of the air defense command, which may have
been related.
The electronic jamming
coming from an unknown source meant that the air defense system was
placed on manual operation, relying on human intervention to launch.
The human role meant that an operator had to make a quick judgment in
a pressure situation in which he had only moments to react. The
shutdown of the transponder, which would have automatically signaled
to the operator and Tor electronics that the plane was civilian,
instead automatically indicated that it was hostile. The operator,
having been particularly briefed on the possibility of incoming
American cruise missiles, then fired.
The two missiles that
brought the plane down came from a Russian-made system designated
SA-15 by NATO and called Tor by the Russians. Its eight missiles are
normally mounted on a tracked vehicle. The system includes both radar
to detect and track targets as well as an independent launch system,
which includes an Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) system
functionality capable of reading call signs and transponder signals
to prevent accidents. Given what happened on that morning in Tehran,
it is plausible to assume that something or someone deliberately
interfered with both the Iranian air defenses and with the
transponder on the airplane, possibly as part of an attempt to create
an aviation accident that would be attributed to the Iranian
government.
The SA-15 Tor defense
system used by Iran has one major vulnerability. It can be hacked
or “spoofed,” permitting an intruder to impersonate a
legitimate user and take control. The United States Navy and Air
Force reportedly have developed technologies “that can fool enemy
radar systems with false and deceptively moving targets.”
Fooling the system also means fooling the operator. The Guardian has
also reported
independently how the United States military has long been
developing systems that can from a distance alter the electronics and
targeting of Iran’s available missiles.
The same technology
can, of course, be used to alter or even mask the transponder on a
civilian airliner in such a fashion as to send false information
about identity and location. The United States has the cyber and
electronic warfare capability to both jam and alter signals relating
to both airliner transponders and to the Iranian air defenses. Israel
presumably has the same ability. Joe Quinn at Sott.net also
notes an interested back story to those photos
and video footage that have appeared in the New
York Times and
elsewhere showing the Iranian missile launch, the impact with the
plane and the remains after the crash, to include the missile
remains. They appeared on January 9th,
in an Instagram account called ‘Rich
Kids of Tehran‘. Quinn asks how the Rich Kids happened to be in
“a low-income housing estate on the city’s outskirts [near the
airport] at 6 a.m. on the morning of January 8th
with cameras pointed at the right part of the sky in time to capture
a missile hitting a Ukrainian passenger plane…?”
Put together the Rich
Kids and the possibility of electronic warfare and it all suggests a
premeditated and carefully planned event of which the
Soleimani assassination was only a part. There
have been riots in Iran subsequent to the shooting down of the
plane, blaming the government for its ineptitude. Some of the people
in the street are clearly calling for the goal long sought by the
United States and Israel, i.e. “regime change.” If nothing else,
Iran, which was widely seen as the victim in the killing of
Soleimani, is being depicted in much of the international media as
little more than another unprincipled actor with blood on its hands.
There is much still to explain about the downing of Ukrainian
International Airlines Flight 752.

Werkelijk
ongelofelijk, het vredesplan dat de Trump terreuradministratie en de
terreurstaat Israël hebben opgesteld. De Palestijnen krijgen
zogenaamd een eigen staat, waar Israël de grenzen controleert en
verantwoordelijk blijft voor de veiligheid, wat voor ‘eigen staat’ is
dat dan?? De nederzettingen worden gelegaliseerd, tegen de wil van de
VN en ook deze liggen zoals het woord legalisering al laat zien in
Palestijns gebied, dit betekent dat de Israëlische legermacht volop
aanwezig zal zijn in de ‘Palestijnse staat….’
Die ‘Palestijnse staat’ komt er alleen als Hamas verdwijnt uit openluchtgevangenis Gazastrook, die het best te vergelijken is met het getto van Warschau tijdens WOII…… Hamas is niet alleen een politieke partij, maar ook een sociale beweging, die het lijden van het verdrukte Palestijnse volk in de Gazastrook probeert te verlichten…….
Jeruzalem
wordt de ongedeelde hoofdstad van Israël en tegelijkertijd zal
Oost-Jeruzalem de hoofdstad van de Palestijnen worden…. Hoe totaal
knettergek moet je zijn om iets dergelijks alleen al te
opperen???!!!!
Dit hele
plan is een aanfluiting en zal zeker geen vrede brengen, des te
schandaliger ook dat o.a. Nederland dit plan steunt, je moet als
minister van Buitenlandse Zaken wel een ‘vol-idioot’ (mooi
germanisme) zijn om een dergelijk belachelijk en zelfs debiel plan te
steunen, ach ja het gaat dan ook om VVD oppersufferd en leeghoofd
Blok (en de rest van het afbraakkabinet Rutte 3).
Nederland ondernam
geen actie toen de Joden in nazi-Duitsland als minderheid werden
vervolgd en stuurde het overgrote deel van de gevluchte Joden terug
in de armen van de moorddadige nazi’s, blijkbaar heeft men niets
geleerd, immers ook nu kiest Nederland voor de vervolgers van een
minderheid……
Lullig
genoeg werden de Palestijnen gedreigd het plan te accepteren, daar ze
anders een ‘zware prijs’ zullen betalen…..
Benieuwd wat men daar onder verstaat, als je ziet dat Israël op
ongewapende Palestijnse demonstranten schiet (inclusief kinderen,
medisch hulpverleners en journalisten) en deze mensen
daadwerkelijk vermoord…. Dan zijn er nog de Israëlische
bombardementen op woonhuizen in de openluchtgevangenis (getto)
Gazastrook…… Voorts maakt Israël het leven van de bewoners van
de Gazastrook en de West Bank onmogelijk, ofwel is bezig met een
langzame etnische zuivering van deze gebieden…… Om dit alles te
overtreffen moet Israël minstens een tactisch kernwapen inzetten
tegen de Palestijnen….
Hoe kan je een vredesplan maken, terwijl je de onderliggende partij, het verdrukte Palestijnse volk, niet laat meedenken aan het vormen van dat plan..??!!!
Hoe is
het gvd mogelijk dat er mensen en politici zijn die dit ‘vredesplan’
als goed beoordelen en zelfs goedkeuren??!!! (hoe gek moet je
zijn…) Als de VS zich terugtrekt uit het Midden-Oosten en stopt met het steunen van Israël, zou het Midden-Oosten al heel wat vreedzamer zijn…..

Trump said as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stood by his
side.
“My vision presents a win-win solution for both
sides,” he said, adding that Israeli leaders have said they will
endorse the proposal, which is referred to as the Middle East peace
plan.

Abbas
further claimed that “I was told I’ll pay a heavy price for my
foolish behavior. I do not have much longer to live and I will not go
down as a traitor. It’s either dying like martyrs or flying the
Palestinian flag on the walls of Jerusalem.”
Turning
to Hamas and the Islamic Jihad, Abbas said that whoever wants to help
is welcome.
“We invited the Hamas movement to attend the
emergency meeting of the leadership and they will take part in the
meeting,” senior Palestinian official Azzam al-Ahmed said.
The
elected government of Gaza have been at odds with President Mahmoud
Abbas’ Fatah movement for years, with Hamas representatives rarely
taking part in meetings of the West Bank-based Palestinian
leadership.
The Palestinians meanwhile have urged world powers
to reject Trump’s plan.
“We
call on the international community to not be partners in this (plan)
because it contravenes international law,” Palestinian prime
minister Mohammed Shtayyeh said on Monday.
The details of Trump’s
initiative, which has been in the works since 2017, are not yet
public.
The release of the plan comes as Trump faces
impeachment hearings over abuse of office.
Netanyahu is facing
imminent trial proceedings, after dropping his request for
parliamentary immunity from corruption charges in a surprise move
Tuesday.
“This
is a plan to protect Trump from impeachment and protect Netanyahu
from prison,” Shtayyeh told a cabinet meeting Monday. “It
is not a Middle East peace plan.”
With little
global support for Trump’s plan, it’s likely destined for the
trash heap of diplomatic history. Before it goes there, though, you

Italiaanse (staats-) oliemaatschappij ENI is door de Italiaanse waakhond (voor

moet het geheel afgelopen zijn met deze dieselsoort…… Kortom ook in deze laat de EU zien meer op te hebben met de maatschappijen die de aarde naar de kloten helpen dan met het volk waarvan men de belangen zou moeten behartigen als volksvertegenwoordiging…… (moet je nagaan: drie keer zo slecht als gewone diesel en alsnog toestaan dat daar nog jarenlang mensen onder moeten lijden en oerwoud voor wordt verbrand, schande!!!)
De uiterst grove leugen dat biodiesel goed is voor het milieu en de luchtkwaliteit, duikt overigens ook met de regelmaat
van de klok op in ons land, gemiddeld bijna 1 keer per week is er
wel een pias die met dit belachelijke verhaal hoopt de noodzaak tot
echte actie tegen de klimaatverandering te kunnen tackelen…..
(alsof we niet ook moeten stoppen met de enorme vervuiling vanwege
het grote aantal mensen dat daar wereldwijd jaarlijks aan overlijdt
en dat jaren eerder na een akelig ziekbed……)
ENI
gebruikt palmolie om haar diesel ‘te vergroenen’, echter zoals je
wellicht weet is niet alleen de verbranding van palmolie wel degelijk
schadelijk voor het milieu en de volksgezondheid, maar wordt de
lucht zeker niet schoner door extra productievan het
kankerverwekkende ultrafijnstof dat vrijkomt bij verbranding….. (deze fijnstof is gebonden aan de giftige
stoffen die bij verbranding van palmolie wordt geproduceerd……)
De vraag
naar palmolie, of die nu zogenaamd duurzaam is of niet, zorgt ervoor
dat men oerwoud blijft verbranden zoals in Indonesië en
Brazilië…….. Er is maar één vorm van duurzame palmolie en dat
is de palmolie die niet wordt geoogst!! Hier de link naar een aantal vragen over palmolie, beantwoord door Milieudefensie. Deze in feite flutorganisatie durft niet te stellen dat palmolie slecht is voor de gezondheid, terwijl men in de beantwoording wel aangeeft dat palmolie vol zit met verzadigde vetten en die zijn wel degelijk slecht voor de gezondheid, sterker nog: Milieudefensie geeft zelfs aan dat verzadigde vetten cholesterol verhogend zijn en daarom hart en vaatziekten veroorzaken (daarnaast veroorzaakt het obesitas)……. Ongelofelijk!!
Italian
regulators today fined Italy’s oil giant Eni over advertisements on TV and in
newspapers, digital media and petrol stations that falsely claimed
Eni Diesel+ was ‘green’. The watchdog states that the marketing
campaign deceives consumers when it claims that the ‘green’
diesel has a positive impact on the environment, saves fuel and
reduces air pollution. It is the first ruling against greenwashing in
Italy’s history.
Italy’s Competition and Market
Authority (all’Autorità Garante per la Concorrenza e il Mercato in
Italian) inflicted the highest possible fine (5 million euros) on the
state-backed energy giant. The agency told Eni not to use the
advertisement again after a complaint was lodged by Italy’s
consumer organisation Movimento Difesa del Citadino, environmental
NGO Legambiente and Brussels-based campaign group Transport &
Environment (T&E). The oil company has been running ads on TV,
print and online
platforms since 2016. The energy company withdrew the advertising
campaigns months ago.
The watchdog’s decision delivers
a blow to attempts by fossil fuel companies to portray biofuels to
politicians and the public as environmentally friendly and part of
the solution to climate change. The ruling follows three extensions
requested by Eni to provide further information and data to prove
their case.
Francesco Luongo,
president of the consumers’ association Movimento Difesa del
Cittadino, said: “Today’s
Authority decision represents the first important sanction for
‘greenwashing’ over misleading advertising messages about how
green a product really is.
The protection of the environment is a
fundamental challenge in the evolution of the global economy, as
stated by the Green New Deal (GND), approved yesterday by the EU
Commission, and claims should not be distorted, or worse falsified,
by companies through unscrupulous marketing that translates into
unfair commercial practices to the detriment of consumers”.
Stefano Ciafani, president
of Legambiente, said:“Today’s a
historic decision because for the first time in Italy we officially
talk about greenwashing and finally this big deceit against citizens,
performed by one of greatest climate enemy, ENI, is exposed. The
Authority proved we were right. But this is not enough. It’s high
time for the Government to finally bet on truly sustainable
development, starting right now and stop subsidies for palm oil
diesel, until finally putting an end to all direct and indirect
subsidies to those sectors causing climate change.”
Eni Diesel + is a new diesel fuel
that is 15% composed of HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) from Eni’s
Venice refinery. This ENI refinery makes HVO from crude palm oil and
its derivatives, as shown by official data from the governmental
energy agency Gestore Servizi Energetici.
The watchdog ruling states that
“it’s particularly deceitful to use the denomination “Green
Diesel’ and the qualifications ‘green’ and ‘renewable’ to
refer to the HVO component of the product”, mainly because of the
indirect land-use change emissions associated with palm oil use. It
also argues that there’s no justification or calculation that
justifies the 40% reduction in air pollution.
Italian green NGOs urge the
government to stop incentives for the use of palm oil in diesel, as
over 50,000 Italians have requested already at www.change.org/unpienodipalle.
Italy is the second largest palm
oil biodiesel producer in the European Union. More than half (54%) of
all palm oil and derivatives imported into Italy in 2018 was used to
make biodiesel, mainly at Eni’s refinery at Porto Marghera, Venice.
The palm oil comes predominantly from Indonesia and, to a lesser
extent, from Malaysia, two countries with notable deforestation rates
in the past two decades.
Europe labelled palm oil in
diesel as unsustainable
Europeans are increasingly eating
less and less palm oil but are inadvertently burning more and more in
cars and trucks. Last year 65%
of all the palm oil imported into the EU was used for energy. 53% of
all palm imports was used to make biodiesel for cars and trucks – an
all-time high – and 12% to generate electricity and heating – another
record.
Palm oil used for biodiesel grew
again in 2018 – by 3% – while the use of palm oil to make food and
animal feed dropped significantly, by 11%. This trend proves that the imported deforestation from palm oil is mainly
driven by EU and national biofuels policy.
Last March, the EU decided that
palm oil is not a green fuel and should not be promoted because it
causes deforestation. The use of palm oil in diesel will be gradually
reduced from 2023 and should reach zero in 2030, with some
exemptions. Thus, Italy, like any other EU country, can amend today
the national targets for renewable energy in transport to remove
incentives for using palm oil and its derivatives in biodiesel,
Veronica Aneris,
manager of Transport & Environment in Italy, said: “There
is no such thing as green diesel made from palm oil or any other food
crop because they cause deforestation. Oil companies need to stop
trying to mislead drivers and politicians with the fake claim that
biodiesel protects the environment and our health. Instead they
should invest in proper clean fuels such as renewable electricity.
The government should push oil companies to do their fair share to
decarbonise the economy.”
Palm oil is known to be an
important driver of the destruction of rainforests and wildlife.
According to a study for the
European Commission, biodiesel from palm oil is three times worse for
the climate than regular diesel when indirect emissions from changes
in the use of land are accounted for.

Drop the charges against Gleen Greenwald
Brazil
has charged award-winning journalist Glenn Greenwald with a crime for
engaging in journalism.
“We
stand with Glenn Greenwald and The
Intercept’s team
in Brazil and demand that prosecutors respect press freedom and drop
this blatant politically motivated charge.”
Over
40 press freedom and civil liberties groups have signed a letter
denouncing the charging of Greenwald, a letter that reads in part: “These charges
represent a straightforward attempt to intimidate and retaliate
against Greenwald and The Intercept for their critical reporting on
messages that appeared to show a judge advising federal prosecutors
how to prosecute cases he was presiding over in the ‘Operation Car
Wash’ investigation. Further, by charging Greenwald with a cybercrime
the government has essentially criminalized engaging in legitimate
journalistic practices, which threatens to have a chilling effect on

how American history would have unfolded if, in the 1970s, members of

the wrongdoing of the Republican Party.”Sadly,
U.S. history does provide a recent precedent for Brazil’s action.
Greenwald believes that — given the close relationship of
Trump and Brazil’s far-right president, Jair Bolsonaro — Trump’s
indictment of WikiLeaks’ Julian Assange for the crime of journalistic
publishing provided the green light to Bolsonaro to persecute
Greenwald.

Ten onrechte stond bij plaatsing minister Blok als één van degenen die stelde dat de bosbranden in Brazilië een normaal verschijnsel zijn, mijn excuus. Al riep Blok tijdens die branden op om te doneren, terwijl hij toch zou moeten weten dat Nederland één van de oorzaken is van die branden (sojateelt) en dus beter zelf een veel groter bedrag ter beschikking had kunnen stellen om die branden te bestrijden…….
Afgelopen donderdag heeft de rechter, zeer tegen de zin van de Jehova’s Getuigen, bepaald dat het rapport over het kindermisbruik door Jehova’s Getuigen mag worden geopenbaard. Protest daar de Jehova’s dit rapport onder de tafel wilden houden en niet voor niets, een elektronisch meldpunt ontving 751 klachten over kindermisbruik en driekwart van de klagers is zwaar ontevreden over de afhandeling van de klachten……. (reken gerust dat die 751 slachtoffers de spreekwoordelijke punt van de ijsberg vormen……)
Het onderzoek werd uitgevoerd o.a. met de hulp van de Universiteit van Utrecht, vandaar de opmerking van de Jehova’s Getuigen dat het rapport ‘wetenschappelijk’ en feitelijk onjuist is, m.a.w. de Jehova’s stellen simpelweg dat de klagers liegen, anders kan je deze reactie niet opvatten en dat men wat zegt over het wetenschappelijk gehalte van het rapport is al helemaal te zot voor woorden…….
De aanbevelingen komen erop neer dat de Jehova’s een meldpunt misbruik moeten instellen…. Beetje vreemd daar er al een meldpunt was, maar dat dit volgens de slachtoffers, zoals gezegd, een zwaar onvoldoende werking heeft….. De samenstellers van het rapport stellen voorts dat de politiek moet overwegen een wet in te voeren waarbij het organisaties als de Jehova’s Getuigen verplicht om aangifte te doen bij de politie als er sprake is van kindermisbruik……… ‘Overwegen?’ Te zot voor woorden dat die wet nog niet bestaat, zeker nadat we hebben gezien hoe men in de rk kerk omging met kindermisbruik!!
Dan te bedenken dat onder druk van de ChristenUnie en de SGP (hoogstwaarschijnlijk gesteund door het CDA) het orgaan ‘Sektesignaal’ is opgeheven, een organisatie waar slachtoffers van sektes hun beklag konden doen en ja bij al die sektes kan je er donder op zeggen dat daar sprake is van seksueel misbruik, zowel van kinderen als volwassenen….. Met het opheffen van deze organisatie is er weer een kanaal voor slachtoffers afgesloten waar zij hun beklag over o.a. seksueel misbruik konden melden…… Meer dan schunnig!!
De volgende keer dat er weer Jehova’s Getuigen ongevraagd voor de deur staan, weten we wel wat we ze kunnen toevoegen!!
Al het voorgaande nog naast het uit de ‘Jehova gemeenschap’ stoten van zelfs hele oude mensen als zij een verkeerde stap maken….. Zo ben ik er eens getuige van geweest dat een oude vrouw een paar dagen voor de koninkrijkszaal van de Jehova’s in Den Haag zat te huilen omdat ze uitgestoten was, de ‘Jehova beheerders’ van die zaal, die daarboven wonen en die een camera hebben gericht op de deur van die zaal, hebben deze vrouw gewoon laten zitten (ik schatte haar leeftijd op rond de 80 jaar…)…..
Vergeet niet dat deze mensen volkomen gehersenspoeld deel uitmaken van de Jehova’s gemeenschap (vaak al vanaf hun kinderjaren…) en dat ze na uitstoting totaal zijn afgesloten van de contacten die ze tot dan hadden, daar ze buiten die gemeenschap geen contact hadden met niet Jehova’s….. (het is zelfs zo zot dat een ‘verdwaald’ familielid dat door de Jehova’s wordt uitgestoten, niet meer welkom is bij de rest van de familie als die Jehova’s zijn……)
Sektesignaal dient zo snel mogelijk weer te worden geïnstalleerd!!
Apple weigert nog steeds mee te werken aan een universele kabel en oplader voor haar smartphones en tablets, ook al tekende dit bedrijf de intentie verklaring die een eind moet maken aan alle verschillende kabels en opladers…….
Doordat Apple al 10 jaar lang geen stappen heeft genomen om tot een universeel oplaadsysteem te komen, stelt het nu dat meer dan een miljard apparaten werken op haar systeem en dat een universeel systeem derhalve extra vervuiling zal geven…… ha! ha! ha! ha! ha! De brutaliteit en het gore lef: Apple heeft de accu’s van haar apparaten dusdanig gemaakt dat deze na een paar jaar moeten worden vervangen, daar de werking van de smartphones en tablets achteruit gaat als de accu’s een paar jaar oud zijn…. Ofwel op dat gebied heeft Apple totaal geen moeite met extra vervuiling (en een heel wat smeriger vervuiling dan kabels en opladers geven…..)
Trouwens als je maar lang genoeg teruggaat wat betreft deze apparaten, zal uiteindelijk de afvalstroom fiks toenemen, daar apparaten eenvoudigweg niet meer voldoen aan de nieuwste normen…..
Apple fabriceert op een manier waarbij zaken als snoeren en opladers relatief snel naar de knoppen gaan >> zoals je wellicht weet zijn deze producten bij Apple peperduur en brengt dit jaarlijks een stevige duit extra in het al veel te vol gevulde ‘geldlaatje’ (een heel grote kluis) van dit bedrijf, ofwel men heeft alle redenen om niet mee te gaan met universele zaken als snoeren en opladers voor ‘slimme telefoons…..’
Benieuwd wat Apple doet als straks meer fabrikanten draadloos opladen mogelijk maken, het zal me niet verbazen dat de manier die Apple daarvoor gebruikt, niet mag worden overgenomen door andere fabrikanten…..

Tijd dat dit bedrijf eindelijk eens plat op de bek gaat!!
Bruno Bruins, de VVD minister van Volksgezondheid*, liet afgelopen vrijdag nog weten dat de kans klein is dat het coronavirus Europa zal bereiken.
Een dag later liet Bruins weten dat Nederland het coronavirus nauwlettend in het oog houdt (‘hééééél geruststellend’), tegelijkertijd liet het Radio1 nieuws van die zaterdagmiddag weten dat Bruins de familie van wie leden in China verblijven, een hart onder de riem heeft gestoken (zonder te vertellen over het hoe en wat)……
Vandaag liet Bruins weten dat het coronavirus nu als een A-ziekte wordt behandeld en ik neem aan dat hem nu de coronastoom uit de oren en neus spuit……
Ach ja, Bruins, als wethouder in Den Haag was hij al een enorme sufferd, ongelofelijk dan ook dat hij ministertje mag spelen……

De
klimaatverandering en zaken als luchtvervuiling ‘trekken zich’ niets
aan van grenzen, zo schopt Tracey Keeling terecht een open deur in, met een artikel op The Canary. Niet moeilijk te bedenken dat de bosbranden in Australië* sinds september vorig jaar een enorme bak CO2 extra
hebben toegevoegd aan de atmosfeer en dat dit de klimaatverandering
verder aanjaagt…
Bovendien
zullen de gebieden in Australië die door de brand grotendeels
ontbost zijn meer zon opnemen, waar bomen de opname van warmte nog
tegen konden houden, zoals je begrijpt zullen deze gebieden extra
warmte opnemen en zal de warmteontwikkeling zorgen dat de temperatuur op aarde nog verder op zal
lopen….. Daarnaast zullen deze gebieden hoogstwaarschijnlijk extra wind genereren, de oorzaak van het moeilijk onder controle krijgen van deze branden…..
Ondanks
alle klimaattoppen, die zelf al een aanjager zijn van de
klimaatverandering, stijgt de uitstoot van CO2 nog steeds, jaar op jaar
wordt er meer CO2 uitgestoten, je behoeft dan ook geen professor te zijn
om te concluderen dat met het grote aantal bosbranden dit jaar weer een
fikse stijging te zien zal zijn van de CO2 uitstoot…..
Jammer
dat Keeling niet schrijft over het feit dat de rook van deze
bosbranden over de hele wereld trekt, zo liet men een dag of tien
geleden al weten dat de rook zich inderdaad verspreidt over de
hele aarde….. Als dit nog een paar maanden doorgaat en bedenk dat
het bepaald niet Australië alleen is dat deels in brand staat (Australië waar de zomer nog maar net een maand gaande is), wordt de
kans steeds groter dat we misoogsten over de hele wereld zullen gaan
zien……

terrifying fallout from the Australian fires that is about to hit the
whole world
When it comes to the
climate, our obsession with national borders is immaterial. The world
has watched in horror as Australia has burned
over the last five months. But the fires aren’t solely affecting
those in their immediate and devastating path or, indeed, those
choking on the
smoke from them in near (or far) countries.
As the UK’s Met
Office has recently pointed
out, one terrifying fallout from the fires is coming to all of us
this year. Because, on this shared planet, we really are all in this
together.
A
grim forecast
Australian wildfires
will help push up carbon dioxide (CO2) levels in the atmosphere to
new highs in 2020, the Met Office has said.
It predicts 2020 will see one of the highest annual increases in CO2
levels since records began more than 60 years ago.
This year, levels of
CO2 are set to rise by around 2.7
parts per million (ppm) compared to 2019, peaking at 417ppm of
CO2 in the atmosphere in May. 2019 itself also saw a steep
rise in CO2 by 3.5ppm in May compared to the previous year, with
the overall level rising to 414.8ppm that month. May is generally the
month of the year where CO2 levels reach their yearly
peak; September/October is usually the lowest
annual point.
The predicted average
CO2 level for 2020 is 414ppm.
Pre-industrial levels of CO2 were around 280ppm.
Levels are set to remain above 410ppm throughout the year for the
first time, according
to the Met Office
The increasing levels
of greenhouses gases like CO2 in our atmosphere push up the
temperature of the planet. As NASA explained
in a 2010 study:
carbon
dioxide is responsible for 80 percent of the radiative forcing that
sustains the Earth’s greenhouse [warming] effect.
Actions
have consequences
Detailing the cause of
the CO2 increase, the Met Office said:
While
human-caused emissions cause the CO2 rise in concentration, impacts
of weather patterns on global ecosystems are predicted to increase
the rise by 10% this year. Emissions from the recent Australian
bushfires contribute up to one-fifth of this increase.
As the Met Office
noted, human activities such as burning fossil fuels have been
pushing up levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere every year. But
around a tenth of the projected increase in 2020 is due to the impact
of weather patterns. According to analysis
in 2019 by Carbon
Brief:
68% of all
extreme weather events studied to date were made more likely or more
severe by human-caused climate change. Heatwaves account for 43% such
events, droughts make up 17% and heavy rainfall or floods account for
16%.
These weather patterns
create conditions in which plants grow less and absorb less CO2.
Weather patterns linked to swings in temperatures in the Pacific
Ocean also affect the rise in carbon dioxide levels, because in years
with a warmer tropical Pacific many regions become warmer and drier.
This will make blazes
such as Australia’s devastating bush fires more likely.
As Professor Richard
Betts, of the University of Exeter and the Met Office Hadley Centre, explained:
Although the
series of annual levels of carbon dioxide have always seen a
year-on-year increase since 1958, driven by fossil fuel burning and
deforestation, the rate of rise isn’t perfectly even because there
are fluctuations in the response of ecosystem carbon sinks,
especially tropical forests.
Essentially,
ecosystems have limited some of the potential temperature rise on our
earth, by absorbing the CO2 we’ve put into the atmosphere. But
human-induced warming and atmospheric disruption drive weather
patterns that are damaging those ecosystems. That leaves nature in
much less of a position to help us.
A
downward spiral
In short, we’re
heading nowhere good – and we’re hurtling towards that
destination fast. Scientists say we must not exceed CO2 levels of 450ppm,
which would set us on course for global warming of 2°C.
Indeed, many argue we should not go beyond a temperature rise of 1.5°C.
That is if we want to avoid catastrophe.
We’ve now seen a
dramatic increase in CO2 levels for eight
years running. The average temperature increase in 2019 reached 1.1°C.
Yet we’re still destroying
forests and gobbling up fossil
fuels. We’re literally sprinting towards the apocalypse with
open arms.
